Waiting mode is the most uncomfortable thing ever. I can't do anything, I can't relax, I can't play video games or anything until the thing I'm waiting for actually happens

Idk ‘bout y’all but the way I see it, Percy is acting exactly like a neurodivergent kid. Like, easily distracted, tendency to zone out or daydream, extremely quick to intense emotions (especially about things he’s passionate about), doesn’t always have the priorities most others would have, etc
We always see adhd in media as the hyper, all-over-the-place, in some ways careless character. And some ADHD is like that.
But seeing Percy not fitting into that specific ideal of adhd is gonna be important to a lot of kids who don’t see their neurodivergence represented

Sometimes my ADHD makes me feel like a glitchy sim.
Brain: “You need to pee.”
Me: “No, I’m going to finish these tasks first.”
Brain: *Rapidly trying to clear tasks* “Please go to the bathroom you’re going to explode”
Me: *Continuing said tasks and ignoring the need to pee*
*45 minutes later*
Me: “Oh shit yeah I needed to pee and now I’m in physical pain because I need to pee so badly.”
Brain: *screaming*

Adhd is sitting at your desk, having everything set up to start working but instead of actually working, it's being on your phone instead

Me? ADHD? Nah, that's the misbehaving hyperactive sporty kid thing. I prefer staying at home and researching the history of calendars. Did you know that the ancient Egyptian calendar year started when Sirius rose at dawn? It signified the start of the flood season. Speaking of stars, I think Venus is visible in the early evening right now. Hang on, I have an app for this. I think it's in the folder called "lunch time".

Okay, so i have an ADHD hack, and usually these don't work for me, but this one did.
So, i saw this on TikTok. If you have multiple chores, and don't know where to start, just write them all down, and then number them.
Then roll a dice, and whatever chore that number is, do it. (And if you don't have a dice, there are thousands of apps for that.)
It makes the chores approachable.
You don't see the mountain of all chores anymore, it's just one thing. Also you don't have to think about the next thing, because you don't know what it is.
And then it's done, and you can move to the next thing the dice tells you
I just did this to clean up my room.
I put bed, couch, nightstand, desk, chair, floor etc. And hell it worked. My room is actually clean now...
Like, try this, i swear, this is amazing!

I think the most exhausting part of being ND is that since I didn't get the Social Interaction Software that everyone else did, I'm constantly trying to manage people's perception of me so I don't accidentally come off as rude or mean or uninterested or nervous or awkward or stupid, and I never know if I actually succeed
