The family has been trying to mend Matthew’s spirit for more than a thousand years. If I’m remembering correctly, it took you less than forty days.” “Matthew wasn’t like this,” I said with a shake of the head, “not until he was here, with you. There was a darkness in him that I couldn’t reach.” “A man like Matthew never frees himself of the shadows completely. But perhaps it is necessary to embrace the darkness in order to love him,” Philippe continued. “‘Do not refuse me because I am dark and shadowed,’” I murmured. “I do not recognize the verse,” Philippe said with a frown. “It’s from that alchemical book I showed you earlier—the Aurora Consurgens.”

I feel the need to point out what exactly I mean with each gif so here, in no particular order:

1. Miriam’s all black work outfit with cute little boots.

2. Juliette’s beautifully form-hugging nightgown dress

3. Miriam’s cute little t-shirt I imagine she acquired from some teenage girl after drinking her dry. It’s like a stylist who knows only the sweetest mainstream pop music tried to think how to make Miriam look really rock. Or possibly it’s a hipster thing, I've let myself be told they do ridiculous things lookswise and pass it off as sarcastic. And I don’t care enough to be corrected if this is inaccurate. It’s so out of character it’s cute.

4. Juliette’s fits-like-a-glove floral print sheath dress. I don’t even... She’s just stunning.

5. Miriam’s gorgeous black coat. Glorious lines.

6. Juliette’s brilliant satin shirt + leather jacket combo

7. Satu’s interesting green crunched velvet robe dress coat. The boots I do not get. Like biker boots and cowboy boots had kids and they came out with kitten heels. But what do I know.

8. Miriam’s glorious hair swooshing everywhere. Give me that hair! I’ll staple it on my head. Gaaah!

9. Juliette. Just look at her. She is about 10 feet tall and moves effortlessly in 20 inch heels. Poetry in motion. Staggeringly beautiful. I mean she would be breathtaking wearing anything but the dress doesn’t hurt so I used it as an excuse to make this gif.

10. Satu’s lovely little cloak. Pictured here between twat and twatter. It’s the one piece of clothing in the series I could wear myself.

Bonus: Matthew’s nearly perfect outfit. Nearly.

A Discovery of Witches hits BBC America and AMC on Sunday, April 7th, which will bring the bigger audience - that’s why we decided to make ADOW Premiere Challenge to celebrate the success of the show! There will be 8 weeks for 8 episodes (that does not mean that each prompt is only about one episode, though).

Each week there will be a prompt for you to fill. Any creative form is welcome - gifs, fanarts, fanfictions, drabbles, metas, headcanons, ANYTHING. The challenge is not limited to just the tv series - you’re more than welcome to use books as well. 

Each week there will be 2 prompts to choose from - you can pick one, or both of them! You do not have to participate each week, do what you want and have fun! Don’t forget to tag each post with #adowpremierechallenge so that we can track and share them!

Domenico, the nosey little fucker… and Venice.

Headcanon:

- Domenico is a slut, and he and Matthew shared more than irreverent sense of humour on board of that Venetian ship when they first met.

- Domenico kept pining for that D, and seduced Louisa for this reason.

Part of the charm of having Louisa, Domenico knew, was taking something that belonged in some small way to Matthew.

- He constantly kept an eyes on Matthew and when his spies told him Matthew married in Sept Tour, he travelled first to France, then London, missing the couple. He then tracked down Louisa and set the whole Greenwich thing in motion. He didn’t know about the blood rage. He quickly abandoned London before Matthew or the de Clermont would know he was behind all. [Please please please show give us Domenico in Elizabethan London]

- He never met Matthew or Diana in London, but he gathered informations about Matthew’s spouse and knows she is a witch. When Matthew re-appeared in Holland in the following months, with a new identity and no wife, he just thought Matthew had killed her. That’s why, when he hears about a new witch in Matthew’s life,  his interested is piqued.

- He would totally be ok with a 3some with Matthew and Diana. (would someone write this fic? no?)
