Such is the time being displayed on your phone. That's nice, you have enough to drop by the flower shop you frequent and still be at your destination as scheduled.

The team is set for a full practice this afternoon and usually, you'd stick around and monitor their progress until it's time to leave, but you excused yourself for now.

Besides, it'd be great for them to start functioning as a group without you. You don't doubt Venti's capability to lead — he is technically the leader.

The sound of roaring engines and other normal, unexceptional noises a city provides fades into a static. Drowned out by the music in your ears, you set off towards the shop in mind.

“The usual, [Name]?”

The kind lady behind the counter rings up your purchase as you smile, setting down a single flower that you took absentmindedly.

When all arrangements have been settled, you depart with a wave, the wind greeting you outside. Changing course to your next destination with the flower in your bag, you allow your mind to drift away.

“It's okay to go ahead, I'll come tomorrow.”

Venti often goes with you in this little trip but that routine is momentarily intercepted because of today's agenda. So, he promised and assured that he'll be instead going at a later date.

There's no problem with that - perhaps other than the sentiment of being lonely.

It always is when this particular date arrives, but you have Venti beside you, so it lessens the weight. Well, until his current absence.

You've never felt so lightweight, like a leaf about to be torn away from a stem and be carried in the unceasing gales. Without foundation, it seems as if you'll be carried to a desolated land.

It's almost upsetting—how you've learned to depend on the presence of your best friend, but there's nothing wrong with that when he does the same, right?

There was no one but you and him on the precarious plank to recovery.

And that's fine.

Stopping in front of your destination, you withdrew an antsy sigh, taking out the flower with a hand and your phone with the other.

Just in time.

The phone is slipped into the pocket of your jeans as you glance at the flower you have bought.

“Does he have a favorite flower?”

The whiteness of its petals are pristine and soft to the touch, untainted by the faraway touch of decay. A barely noticeable redolence can be smelt, light and almost minty.

“Yeah,”
