Hey! I made some gifs of the Young Bucks vignette. Enjoy! (Please credit me which I know a lot of you will ☺️☺️❤️) And I’ll make more when I can. (probably tomorrow)❤️
These were from Matthew & Nicholas’s “You Leave Us No Choice” vignette entrance theme by the amazing Mikey Rukus.

First Post
So, I just did a Tumblr because 1) no idea what will happen on Twitter from here and the next months and 2) it's another way to keep people communicated. This doesn't mean I'll stop using Twitter but curiosity killed the cat so I thought "why don't you make a Tumblr?", so here I am. Hope everyone is doing good.

Hi can you write an MJF x reader where reader is MJF wife and is sitting at the barricade at Double or nothing where he returns and mentions how he isn’t leaving AEW?
I’m so happy that MJF is back!!!
Double or Nothing

It didn’t matter how many times I’d been fortunate enough to experience Max’s returns ringside. Every return was bigger and better than the last. It has been five months since I last found myself in this position. 5 months ago I sat in this exact spot cheering on my husband against his match with Joe at World’s End. I know that match didn’t end the way we wanted but that just meant his return would be ungodly. I watched Adam Cole enter the ring, devil mask in hand. It didn’t matter what he was saying, it would soon mean nothing. I couldn't help the nervous feeling in my stomach, I was internally counting down the seconds until the lights went out and the devil came home. As if on cue the lights went out. I watched Adam Cole frantically pace around the ring waiting to get jumped and yet nothing happened. Just then the video package played on the screens. I could sense the confusion in the fans. Some chanted his name while others questioned who was filming the video. It was obvious the hands were one of a female. I was the one that helped Max film it, we just had to throw them off just a bit. Just then my focus from the screen was broken when a fan yelled “Wait isn’t that MJF’s Wife!” Fuck, I got caught. I tried my best to ignore the comment as I awaited his entrance theme to play on the speakers. I thought the pop was big when Max returned at All Out back in 2022 but this was nothing in comparison. The crowd went crazy as Max made his way to the ring, ready to kill Adam Cole. For a moment it was as if Max would reunite with Cole but of course, that was false. For the past 5 months, Max hated how he allowed himself to get soft, he hated that he trusted someone other than me. Max was out for revenge. For a moment in time, some thought we would never see MJF in AEW again but AEW was his home. The other company would ruin him. Maxwell Jacob Friedman is NOT a PG guy. I couldn't help the smile on my face, he was home. The people loved him, they needed him. I can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes us.

Ghost Of You | HOOK
Tumblr media
Summary: AEW visits Y/N's town after HOOK and you break up.
Author's Note: @99hook told me to do it. 😂 Also, I believe that this song was about Selena. Let me be delulu.
@plentyoffandoms @theworldofotps @multi-fandom-things730
HOOK laid in his hotel bed thinking about you. Tuesday nights while he was in your city, you would visit him. The two of you would spend the night cuddling and just talking about life. Now, he felt empty inside. He missed your touch the most. The way your soft fingers would trace the tattoos inked on his body.
He rolled over and placed his hands over his face. The sunrise started to creep into the window. HOOK peered at the clock. The green numbers showed 7:30. He hadn't realized he had spent the whole night thinking about you. He stood up from the bed and closed the curtains. He needed to try to sleep.
Once he laid back in bed, his half closed eyes turned to the other side of the bed. A faint vision of you appeared before him. You reached out, and he swore he could feel your fingers trace his tattoos. He reached for his chest to grab your hand but felt nothing. Buried in disappointment, he fell asleep.
👻
HOOK pulled up to the arena later than he expected. Time seemed to always not be on his side. For a guy so young, he always thought he had more time. Now, it seems like he never had enough. The time he had with you wasn't enough. He needed more, much more.
He stepped out of the car and walked inside the arena to get ready. Hours before Dynamite would be spent with you messaging him how excited you were to see him in the ring in person. HOOK grabbed his phone to message you. The cursor flashed, waiting for him to message.
He knew you moved on. You may have blocked him off all social media, but his boys hooked him up. You looked so refreshed and happy with the new guy. Sometimes, he wondered if you ever thought about him during your free time. He decided not to message you.
👻
HOOK's entrance theme played through the arena. The cheers from the audience made him feel slightly better. He walked in the ring and crossed his arms over the turnbuckle. He looked out in the audience, hoping to see your smiling face.
He wasn't surprised when you weren't out there. The seats you normally sat in left vacant. He looked away once the referee grabbed his attention. HOOK looked at the seats one last time. The vision from last night suddenly appeared in your seat. You gave him a quick smile and wave.
He smiled briefly and focused on his match. The handsome devil finished his opponent off with a Redrum. The arena exploded in cheers. HOOK looked at the ghost of you. You gave him another big smile and celebrated with the rest of the audience.
👻
HOOK dropped his gym bag on the hotel floor in his room. His body sore from his match. He tried to stretch out his muscles, yet it was no use. A cold shower would at least help with the soreness.
After his shower, he sat on the bed and sighed. Nothing could make you come back. He betrayed your trust. The one thing he told you he would never do. He didn't blame you for leaving him behind. You crossed a bridge that he couldn't follow.
The ghost of you came back to visit him one last time. He could feel your hands massage his sore shoulders. He sighed happily and rested his head in his hands. HOOK knew you weren't there, but that didn't mean he couldn't find solace in this.
If he couldn't have you, he'll settle for the ghost of you.

HOOK x FEM!READER
(Reader has had a major injury) and she comes back to AEW surprising everybody including her man, unleashing her fury on Jack and HOOK is left speechless since she left Jack bloody, battered, and bruised to the point where HOOK has to pull her off of him, and is slightly concerned about how much she cares for him but is also like 'damn' so this is what it's like to watch me fight...
Unconditional (Hook X Fem!Reader):
Word Count: 1.1K
Supreme Speaks: hey yall, thanks to this anon for requesting this! i hope you enjoy it! i was trying to make this a short drabble but yall know i talk/write too much. this was fun and honestly, i might make a part two if yall want it. please remember that you are loved and appreciated.

Hook was pissed.
And he had every right to be.
He lost his championship.
He was backstabbed
And his true best friend was injured.
All because of someone he used to consider one of his closest friends.
And right now….he just needed to let off some steam.
Which is why he walked down to the ramp (without his entrance music) and got face-to-face with Jack Perry, who was gloating about his new FTW championship. He smirked as Hook stepped into the ring, even though Hook had steam coming off of his head and a scowl covering his face, Jack still decided to gloat in his face.
“Hook! I’m surprised that you’re still here, especially after I embarrassed you.” Jack started as he laughed at the man standing across from him. “Like I told you, this is all business nothing personal, but you needed to bring down a couple of notches. Hook, you should be happy that I took the pressure off of your shoulders. You were not going to be able to handle everything you had for much longer.”
Hook’s jaw clenched as Jack continued, “Think about it! You had it all: the championship, the popularity, the girl… it was only a matter of time until everything was taken from you or got sick of you. And now you’re out of a championship and following but, hey, you still got your girl….barely.” He said making the audience 'oohed' and Hook’s head snap to Jack Perry. Jack always thought that you and Hook were something more than best friends. At least, he knew more as he knew Hook’s true feelings towards you, so it made sense to bring you into the conversation.
“I mean she’s on the shelf for right now, but at least she’s still cheering you on. That is until she wakes up and finally realizes that the New York thing isn’t working for her and goes Hollywood. Then, everything will be what it should be: you’ll truly be alone and I’ll be chilling with your girl-“
Jack didn’t have enough time to finish his statement as Hook tackled him to the ground. There are many things that Hook can take, but disrespecting you was not on the table. The crowd erupted with cheers as the cold-hearted handsome devil punched the arrogant heel over and over again. Jack turned over and started punching and kicking Hook, making the crowd boo.
After a couple of moments, Jack slid out of the ring and grabbed two chairs. The crowd, already knowing where this was going, started to boo Jack even heavier. He put one chair on the ground and put Hook’s head on top of it. Jack smiled as he held the other chair high above his head, but he didn’t have the chance to swing it as your theme song blasted through the arena, making the audience erupt with cheers.
The crowd stood on their feet as you appeared from the tunnels, fury in your eyes. Jack looked up with shock and almost fear in his eyes as you sprinted down the ramp and rolled into the ring.
He was trying to make excuses about his actions as Hook rolled to a far corner in the ring. “Y/N! It was just a joke-“
You cut him off as you speared him to the ground, with the audience getting even louder in the background. The chair he had dropped to the floor as you started stomping his ribs. You started to go to town as you allowed your anger, sadness, and bitterness to take over your body. It was almost like you were on autopilot; you then grabbed the chair and, without hesitation, started to hit Jack with it.
Hook, still in the corner, watched in awe. It surprised him how violent and angry you were, making a mental note to never make you angry. Even though he was enjoying the show of his girlfriend beating up his former partner, he realized he had to stop you before the worse happens. Just as you were about to hit Jack’s bruised body for the 7th time, Hook pulls you away from him and throws the chair out of the ring.
“What are you doing here?!” Hook asked
“I was cleared by the doctors and I got sick of his disrespectful mouth. So, do me a favor and step aside!” You said as you lunged towards Jack’s bloody and beaten body (which was still in the same place), but Hook caught you and placed you back in front of him.
“You didn’t need to do that! I can’t have you risking yourself for me. You could have been-“
“You are more than worth it. I don’t care who’s ass I have to beat, I don’t care how far I have to travel, I will do anything to make sure that you are okay.” You said as his eyes softened. Up til this moment, Hook has never really understood how much you care for him as he never thought someone could love him unconditionally, especially from a platonic standpoint. He just never thought he was capable of being loved this much. That all changed the moment you got in the ring and attacked Jack for him.

As he was soaking in the moment, he didn’t realize that someone else entered the ring. You looked behind your boyfriend to see Anna Jay checking on Jack before running up to you two. You shoved Hook out of the way and gave Anna a vicious bicycle kick, knocking her to the ground, next to her boyfriend.
After a couple of moments, you and Hook left the ring, going backstage (while also leaving the broken and beaten couple in the ring). You sat on a crate as Hook handed you a bag of ice for your hand, that started bruising after you were punching Jack.
“Well, that was epic. Wild, yet epic.” He said looking at you with big eyes. He was about to add on until he saw Jack being carried out on a stretcher to the ambulance.
You chuckled as your eyes followed the small crowd, “As I told you, anything for you baby boy. And if the roles were reversed, I know that you wouldn’t hesitate to do the same.”
Hook agreed, nodding his head. Then his eyes widened as he took in that statement a bit deeper, “Wait! Is that it’s like watching me fight?”
Laughing, you jumped down from the crate. “There were times I thought your opponent wasn’t going to make it.” Hook took that statement in and related it to what just happened. Cause if he didn’t grab that chair from your hands, then Jack really wasn’t gonna make it.
So technically he just saved Jack’s life…and in retrospect, you also saved Hook’s life.
“Okay, enough talk. Let’s go to catering, I’m starving.” You said.
From that day forward, Hook vowed to show you the same unconditional love that you show him.
Hell, he might confess his unconditional love for you.
After all, you deserve the best and nothing less.

"Helpful" Rundown of AEW Wrestlers, Part 1
Like the title says, this will be a summary/rundown for various wrestlers in AEW for people who would like the information.
Swerve Strickland
1x AEW World Champion (current as of the time of this writing), 1x AEW Tag Team Champion (with Keith Lee)
The coolest wrestler not named "Scott Hall"
Genuinely great in the ring
Amoral opportunistic asshole
Makes all of his feuds personal to get in his opponent's head
Can, will, and has threatened a child with violence
Will betray people to further his own success
Canonically immune to pain from staple guns
Canonically spent two weeks inside a casket following the first All In from London in 2023.
"Timeless" Toni Storm
3x AEW Women's Champion (current as of this writing)
Tied with Hikaru Shida as 3x champs
Arguably the most over woman on the entire roster
Previously part of The Outcasts with Saraya (fka Paige) and Ruby Soho (fka Ruby Roit[t]) where she was more in line with her previous Stardom/WWE presentation
Had an episode after losing the belt to Shida, resulting in her becoming an unhinged and paranoid 1950s/Golden Age of Hollywood, Sunset Blvd-esque star.
As part of the change, Toni spoke with a different accent, changed her hair, makeup, and wardrobe--as well as her entrance music-- to look and feel more akin to the Golden Age, and will consistently appear only in black and white (outside of matches and other limited moments)
Currently in the middle of another episode following a betrayal by a former friend.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman
1x AEW World Champion, 1x ROH Tag Team Champion (with Adam Cole), 1x AEW International American Champion (current as of this writing)
A genuine generational talent
Better than you (and you know it)
Manages to capture the same sort of energy as 1980s-1990s/Golden Age WWF heels and babyfaces
A loud piece of shit. One of the worst people.
Openly deals with various insecurities that he can and will weaponize in feuds in order to get his opponents to lower their guard
Is a heel basically as a defense mechanism for those insecurities as well
Has canonically had two friends in AEW. Betrayed the first friend, and was betrayed by the second.
Rarely breaks character
Mercedes Mone
1x AEW TBS Champion (current as of this writing), 1x NPJW STRONG Women's Champion (current as of this writing)
FKA Sasha Banks in WWE
Basically what would happen if that obnoxiously pretty and arrogant girl you went to high school with was also wildly successful and passive-aggressively rubbed it in your face at every opportunity
Genuinely loves pro wrestling, openly stated that Eddie Guerrero was one of her favorite wrestlers
Generally very good in the ring. Will let herself be fucking ragdolled by people to help sell a move
Doesn't have the best finisher or theme music.
Technically debuted as a babyface, but the character is a natural heel and she embraced that quickly.

okay so here's my summary of ibushi's latest 2 videos (here and here) from his youtube channel
pls make sure to read this at your own discretion. it's honest, but not exactly cheerful.
this summary is not entirely chronological; i've grouped some points together for cohesion
the vids were taken about 2 weeks after marufuji vs ibushi was announced, so around 12/17 ish (i'm just bringing this up bc i saw some confusion bc ibushi was reported by noah to be in the us rn until at least the 27th)
ibushi starts out the 1st vid by saying how completely different american and japanese wrestling are; the example he uses are cheers, [in aew] whenver anyone makes their entrance the crowd is chanting their name
in japan it has a different quality to it; [i assume he's talking about coming out at the noah show to challenge marufuji here] it's strange to him when he can only hear his theme and there's neither boos nor cheers, but he was glad it got a reaction
as for how he's doing physically: says he'll be frank: his left ankle and the back of his right hand (there's a visible dent on one side of the back of his hand and he says he doesn't have much grip strength there but for powerbombs and germans he grabs his wrist with his left hand so he can still do those) are fractured and his shoulder isn't healed cause he never got surgery for it
the ankle is the worst out of the 3, he can't jump or do highflying and walking 400 m (0.25 miles) is his limit, even walking around everyday is pretty rough
he's been able to benchpress 88 lbs now, with 200 as a one time thing, but he can't do much actual wrestling match practice, worries about what he can do; sums it up as that physically things aren't really on the up and up at all
but he believes marufuji is going through the same thing [being hurt in a lot of different places] and that the match won't be bad because of that; he believes it will be good precisely bc of the shape they are in, the injuries they've sustained
as he's said in the past, he doesn't care about what place he is on the card even tho ppl care a lot about match order, but he has the opportunity of being in the main with marufuji, so [he'll make the most out of it]
the ring remains a place for him to express himself, unable to highfly or injured as he may be, that's part of it too
he could go out there and be like "no i'm recovering i'm practicing hard everything's going swell" but that wouldn't change the fact that it's not true
he's doing what he can do get better, but operating within the limits of his body and how he can workout
even so, he won't give up and expresses confidence, [he seems motivated for the match and to go through with all of this], he's been doing this for 20 years and nothing scares him anymore
he says his instinct/6th sense for wrestling isn't as sharp [anymore] either since he doesn't really wrestle outside of aew these days, and again japanese and american wrestling are completely different and he's matching himself to wherever he wrestles, so he will do the same for the noah match
as long as it's getting a reaction out of ppl, he's happy; as long as he's getting something out of it he's happy, there's no right or wrong here for him
he's not nervous for the match at all, just hopes he can put himself out there in his purest form, so that ppl can decide for themselves what it is he represents for them/how they experience them
the video ends with him saying that he doesn't wanna be gloom, but if something unfortunate happens [i interpret this to mean another injury] this will be his last [match]
[he also then says make sure to watch his matches (since you won't know which one will be the last), and while i don't think he's lying with the sentiment here at all, my suggestion would be to take this as it is for now but not despair too hard about it]
the 2nd vid is mostly a recap of him seconding a kickboxer he trains for his match at korakuen hall on 12/17, interspliced with more footage from ibushi talking in the secret base
just as the fictitious "ibushi pro wrestling research institute" represents his status as a freelancer and a means by which he express himself in his purest form to ppl, it's also a means by which he can take on ppl under his wing
[ibushi has talked on twitter before how he has several trainees who are former/current kickboxers or MMA fighters wishing to become pro wrestlers] he thinks more of them will make their debut in the future; he's not doing this to boast that he's the one training them, it just naturally happened this way
even tho the ipwri is not actually a promotion, [ppl he's training and ibushi himself] get announced/lower third-ed as being from there, so it has established itself in the world
[there's a backstage scene here of ibushi talking to machida (machida lost the match) and altho there isn't much to tl (it's just ibushi basically giving him a pep talk), i still think it's worth checking out, it's very sweet]
lastly he says the institute is taking applications and as long as your feelings/motivations come across, he's happy to read them, even tho there are already too many ppl showing interest rn

To the Swerve Fans, who need to hear it: he didn't go down without a fight.
And I don't mean that about that match. Obviously that was going to be good. I mean dragging him from the top of the pedestal to a spot where they could dethrone him and make it a 'victory' with only mild grumbling.
As a Bryan and Swerve fan the last two weeks have been fucking hard, man. 'Cuz I see it, I see the vision, and yeah I WANT Bryan & Nigel proper payoff, I WANT Hangman & Swerve 4-7, and I WANT to say AEW has Swerve Strickland, the up & coming best fucking talent on the market rn, the first ever multi-run black world champ.
But I saw the signs. Jericho's interview talking about how Swerve is going to be a three, four, five time champ in his career. Swerve talking about the big things he has coming up in a busy 2025, likely ramping up his music and horror movie acting career as those films start to come out as well as wrestling. The narrative tone shift of the storylines pointing out that Swerve was always adored despite the heinous things he did, and Danielson twining in with that theme alongside Hangman. That not quite being enough, adding the final gauntlet of literally threatening the audience into choosing sides: do you really still want this right now? Or to never have a thing you loved ever again?
And man, the dissonance in a few short weeks and across the Atlantic was shocking. I don't know if Swerve was just never beloved across seas as much, but I'm thinking of the entrance Swerve received at HOG in late July on the east coast. He came out in full regalia and with dancers and accompaniment and all, but that tiny indie house was screaming his chants and full theme song before he was even announced louder than the entire arena in Cardiff four weeks later.
They threw Everything at the crowds to get them to turn on Swerve, but they did it.
Kind of.
While I was disheartened as fuck the last week listening to dead silence at heel Swerve entrances, until right at the very end, there were next to no Boos and when everything else was gone, people still muttered (not screamed) the response to 'Whose House', as if under protest.
Everyone knew what the story was, no one wanted to accept it. But the loaded gun of a Bryan Danielson match #1473 vs Swerve's almost certain second run was at our Head.
I watched the PPV in a wrestling themed bar in Washington state with about 25 other locals, and while there was commentary and applause and jeering of the usual sort throughout almost every other matchup, that final match was nearly dead quiet and split (Hangman / Birdie spot exceptions apply).
When the match was over it just felt like a relief. Everyone had been tense, like waiting for election results, and conversations about who would get a champ run now and what Swerve would get to do at Wrestledream immediately started again.
Can't keep a real champ down and out.

Turtles Catches Up With Old GMMTV: Last Twilight In Phuket and I Promised You The Moon Edition
[What’s going on here? After joining Tumblr and discovering Thai BLs through KinnPorsche in 2022, I began watching GMMTV’s new offerings -- and realized that I had a lot of history to catch up on, to appreciate the more recent works that I was delving into. From tropes to BL frameworks, what we’re watching now hails from somewhere, and I’m learning about Thai BL's history through what I’m calling the Old GMMTV Challenge (OGMMTVC). Starting with recommendations from @absolutebl on their post regarding how GMMTV is correcting for its mistakes with its shows today, I’ve made an expansive list to get me through a condensed history of essential/classic/significant Thai BLs produced by GMMTV and many other BL studios. My watchlist, pasted below, lists what I’ve watched and what’s upcoming, along with the reviews I’ve written so far. Today, I conclude my thoughts on Nadao Bangkok's trio of shows, from I Told Sunset About You, to Last Twilight in Phuket and I Promised You The Moon.]
Whew! I needed to take a quick break from the OGMMTVC slate of reviews to live life: I moved domiciles, and took myself on a therapeutic journey of rewatching the very long and intense series that is Until We Meet Again (I therapize in weird ways, fam), but anyway! Ya girl is BACK on her bullshit, and I am finally reviewing (heads-up, dear @shortpplfedup!) the utterly wonderful Last Twilight in Phuket and I Promised You the Moon, ending the Nadao Bangkok section of this project that started with I Told Sunset About You.
Just to take a quick 10,000-foot-look at these three shows together: repeating myself from my ITSAY review, we know that ITSAY, LTIP, and IPYTM are on the OGMMTVC list as THE prestige BLs of Thailand -- the BL dramas that likely cost the most money to make, and that took the most solid cinematic turn of any of the BLs on this list. And they are centered and cemented by the mindblowing performances of PP Krit and Billkin Putthipong, who were both up for the very remarkable challenge of making theater-level content in two short series and one special episode. (For my tastes? We don't see this level of acting again until Bad Buddy -- but I'm a BBS girlie and thus very biased. But anyway!)
Forgive me as I pen this review a little differently from my previous ones where I lay out an outline, because the dominant thought I have about LTIP and IPYTM was that I will forever respect Nadao Bangkok for going in totally different directions with each piece in the ITSAY framework.
I spent a great amount of time in my ITSAY review celebrating the show's very intentional conversation about place by way of Phuket, and how the history of immigration and the demographic landscape of Phuket so very deeply influenced the layers of meaning in that show (and I thank the WONDERFUL @telomeke once more for spending so much time with me talking about this!).
As we needed a bridge from Phuket to Bangkok: I just love that Boss Naruebet, the main screenwriter and director for both ITSAY and Last Twilight in Phuket, took the time to create a singular episode in LTIP about place, and centering place for the sake of our two beloved leads, Teh and Oh-aew, in order to hammer home ever more deeply what Phuket meant to them, to Boss, and what Phuket should mean to us as the viewers.
Besides the gorgeous celebration of the spaces that meant so much to Teh and Oh-aew -- of course, what we also saw in LTIP was how time can change places. How the boys couldn't get to their special beach spot anymore because the entrance was boarded up. How their tutoring school had closed.
And that theme of change -- and the ache of change -- is, of course, what takes us right to the doorstep of I Promised You The Moon.
But before I go to Bangkok to unwind on IPYTM, I have one last thought on LTIP. In my ITSAY review, I felt the need to unwind and celebrate ITSAY's homage to Phuket as a melting pot, the meeting place of so many cultures (Thai, Chinese, Malay, Peranakan), because to me: Phuket, as a singular place, represented change at home, change from within the home and external to home. Teh's tremendous emotional outburst at the incredibly chaotic decision he made to give up his university spot for Oh-aew -- that devolvement happened literally inside of his home, a traditional Chinese-Peranakan home in multicultural Phuket.
Phuket itself represented a place where Teh could change himself, because the cultural fabric of the place of Phuket changed and changes with the nature of the people that live and breathe within Phuket. That's how immigration and migration change a place -- that's how time changes a place. I posited in my ITSAY review that that was exactly what Phuket was meant to represent as a place of home for Teh and Oh-aew: that a place that was historically and inherently built on change could sustain this very modern relationship between two young men, at least one of them (Teh) raised in an otherwise very traditional and old-fashioned Peranakan culture.
As LTIP unwound (gosh, the name cards of the places they visited, listing place names in English, just made me swoon), and we saw the boys SEEING the change of THEIR place happen before their eyes, I felt that what I was seeing was such an empathic metaphor for the steps of adulthood that they were both about to take. I totally remember taking IN the place where I grew up, one last time, before I hit the road for college. I think I was too young in that moment to put the following into words, but: I knew that the place I was leaving was never going to be the same.... in large part because the way I would see that place called home would change, as well as the place itself actually changing, and getting older itself.
From those steps of change, do we go to Bangkok and to I Promised You the Moon.
The most obvious structural change that separates IPYTM from ITSAY and LTIP is the change in the main screenwriter and director: Boss Naruebet is replaced by Meen Tossaphon.
Now -- oh man. I gotta get my thoughts together on IPYTM.
I. LOVED. I PROMISED YOU THE MOON. I. LOOOOOOOVED IT.
This is likely going to be controversial! There were many parts of IPYTM that I ended up loving more than ITSAY. Lemme get into it.
If you have been a regular around this blog, you might be able to surmise why I loved IPYTM. IPYTM did not beat around any bush -- it did not ignore the bullshit of everyday life in a relationship.
My very favorite BL of all time, What Did You Eat Yesterday?, deals with two middle-aged men in a long-established relationship. We meet them in the middle of their time together. We get all their origin material well within the series.
The wonderful @bengiyo often writes, in his Stray Thoughts posts and elsewhere, how refreshing it often is to see an established queer couple managing the quirks of their relationship as it happens. We so often watch shows that center relationships that start in a series with a queer revelation. The very high majority of our shows are about the chase, a confession, a fleeting sexual moment or two, that first kiss.
I think we were so lucky to get Teh and Oh-aew in their young adulthood, in their four years in university in IPYTM, to see a full life stage -- how AMAZING is that -- complete before our eyes.
But before I go on to talk about why I LOVED IPYTM, and why I think it's important for the OGMMTVC project, I want to explain why there were many parts of IPYTM that I liked more than ITSAY.
ITSAY had explosive emotional moments. They shook me so hardcore that I had to stop multitasking while watching the episodes, and nothing usually slows me down.
@neuroticbookworm and I have spoken, as two South Asians, about the nature of the depictions of these explosive emotional moments on the part of Teh in ITSAY. I've talked before (most recently in my review of The Love of Siam) about how important it is that Western viewers understand that while the interaction that Asian directors and screenwriters have had with Western and Western queer content is important and present (Jojo Tichakorn is revealing himself on this almost weekly as Only Friends airs) -- that there is a VERY long history of Asian content featuring non-happy endings and/or open-ended endings.
Why am I talking about non-HEAs with Teh? Because @neuroticbookworm and I both posit that ITSAY could have ended very authentically -- for the story itself, and for the region from which ITSAY comes -- if Teh and Oh-aew did not get together, especially considering the absolutely torturous emotional breakdowns that Teh was having about his attraction to and love for Oh-aew.
But they DID get together, and it was a triumph for prestige Asian queer content. ITSAY may very well have been talking to the heartbreaking ending of The Love of Siam.
I compare those emotional volcanoes to IPYTM's narrative process. We don't get those emotional volcanoes. Instead, we see a much more established couple (maybe not necessarily more mature, but at least established), two years into their relationship, about to start a new chapter in their lives as much as they can be together. And I think, without those emotional volcanoes: we were able, in IPYTM, to get more into tonally quieter, but still incredibly emotional and heart-wrenching details about Teh and Oh-aew's relationship that deserved time and the spotlight to work through -- such as Teh's slow falling for Jai.
To the point that their maturity is in question: give me a series about a developing relationship, and I will give you my heart. I want to see more and more shows about dudes working on their shit in a relationship. I want to see queer dudes experiencing the highs and lows of living a mundane life together, à la What Did You Eat Yesterday?
As we saw in ITSAY: Teh has a thing about change. Change is really, really, really hard for him. He had to change his mindset about the kind of person he was falling in love with in ITSAY. He was falling in love with a fellow young man, and it sent him off the rails.
Teh continues to be chaotic as fuck in IPYTM -- and that's all happening in the context of him watching, and being with Oh-aew, as Oh changes himself over time.
And: OH!!! MY. BOY. OH-AEW. CLAP EMOJIS. FIND YOURSELF! OMG. Oh-aew's trajectory in IPYTM stole my heart. Oh FOUND HIMSELF, AND found his community. The hair color change? The wardrobe change? The glistening legs? (PP KRIT.) The tattoo? Quitting acting -- which, of course, made Teh sooooo superior-feeling -- to find a career that he LIKED, and was GOOD AT?
Oh-aew was my boy in IPYTM. He was such a LIGHT against the continued darkness that Teh lived in. And Oh-aew knew it, and my god: Oh learned a lot about self-preservation in the time they had in college together.
As I wrote about in my Theory of Love review, I am a true sucker for behavioral change stories in dramas. Oh-aew gave me tons of that, in SUCH an empathic, well-lit way. Teh also gave us a change story, with the delightful essence of the kind of fucked-up chaos that only Teh, and Billkin as an actor, can muster.
Repeating myself from my ITSAY review: Teh, for me, is a reflection of my very favorite chaos boy, Fuse from Make It Right. In the second season of Make It Right, Fuse continues to date his girlfriend, Jean, while his attraction to his same-sex lover, Tee, continues to grow.
Teh watches Oh-aew change. Teh questions why Oh-aew got the teacup tattoo. Teh sees Oh-aew hang out with Oh's cadre of queer friends. Teh sees so much of LIFE happen through Oh-aew: that Oh is indicating a permanence to their relationship vis à vis the tattoo. Teh sees that Oh is comfortable in his own skin, in his growing, strong identity as a queer man. Oh-aew, to me, is truly reflective of the internal change that can happen when one leaves home, when one leaves a place to go to another place -- a tremendous journey.
Teh...... oh, Teh. Teh is not on that same journey. He goes to a more fucked-up place. He, idiotically, falls for Jai -- literally, verbally, visually, right in front of Oh-aew -- all while Teh increasingly becomes unmoored in his relationship with Oh.
Now, let me clarify something. I LOVE CHAOS BOYS. I needed @lurkingshan to check me as I was unwinding on Teh and Teh's cheating: Shan had to yell at me, "TURTLES, TEH WAS CHEATING!!!" lol.
Because! Because I actually sympathized with Teh a bit. Teh acted like a total fucking jackass, an idiot of the highest order. But I sympathized with him.
I sympathized with him because, unlike Oh-aew, Teh came from a more old-fashioned background. Of course, he learned early in IPYTM that his mother knew about his relationship with Oh-aew. That should have given Teh comfort to live his authentic life in Bangkok, and I think it did, to some extent. But, Teh was such a brilliantly written character as to have not actually be able to shed EVERYTHING about his past life, his past identity, his past values coming from an old-fashioned culture, in fast time.
That's what happens in fantasies, and it doesn't always happen that way in real life. Not to say that IPYTM is real life -- but I think Teh's path towards change and maturity reflected a different and difficult style of realistic growth that I am glad the show did not shy away from.
I understand that there are a lot of people that either don't like, or didn't watch, IPYTM because of the cheating plot. Let me just say, as an #old -- cheating happens.
Teh felt disconnected from Oh and Oh's change journey, his growth. Teh found an outlet for his misplaced emotional yearnings in Jai. Jai took total advantage of the moment to extract a performance out of Teh. Teh was used. Teh was dumb enough to not recognize this. And he jeopardized his relationship with Oh-aew. And to Oh-aew's damn credit, Oh said -- fuck THAT, and walked.
All of that? Waving my hand in a circle and clinching my fingers, all of that? REAL SHIT. Real talk. Man, do I LOVE IPYTM for going there.
I knew -- of course I knew, the gifs are everywhere -- that Teh and Oh-aew would get together by the end of IPYTM. But to see that their relationship NEEDED to take a very healthy break, and that Teh NEEDED to be faced with very real consequences of his unthoughtful, chaotic behavior, was a demonstration of accountability of the highest order in a drama that I heartily welcomed. It was mature AF, and it established Oh's boundaries and feelings in such a gorgeous, respectful way for a young queer man to represent. God. I'm clutching my hands. It gives me the same good feelings as Pharm setting his boundaries in UWMA.
I think, if this kind of growth story bores people (?) -- I unfortunately have to say that I think this is where more and more BLs are going, on this route, on the WDYEY route, on the Love In Translation route that my friends @lurkingshan, @bengiyo, and @neuroticbookworm are telling me about right now.
And to take this route in a prestige, cinematic BL. To take the route of demonstrating growth, maturity, accountability, and responsibility in a BL of the highest quality order, means a lot to me as an #old, who is fascinated by internal change over the course of time. Which.... is also the story of Phuket, the story of Bangkok, the story of the queer community in Bangkok, the story of the continued growing strength of the LGBTQ+ community in Thailand and globally.
And to tie this all together: in IPYTM, I did not question the ending. I LOVED THE ENDING. It was a happy ending for the romantics. It was an open-ended ending for the realists like myself. Oh-aew said: I don't know if things are gonna work, homeboy. But you're my man. You will be my man. (When Oh-aew wakes up in bed and sees a vision of Teh before they got together for the last time? Oh yes, I screamed. Asian family pain, baby.)
And Teh says: deal. And almost immediately commits another crime of chaos with that Instagram post. But, as I wrote in my notes as the show ended: he was now engaging in external chaos, not internal chaos. Teh will make the commitment to WORK on his chaos WITH Oh-aew, IN the context of a relationship. No more holding it in. If Teh takes risks, he'll take Oh-aew with him, together, because that's what being in a bonded relationship is about.
I felt unsettled when ITSAY ended. I felt that Teh's emotional peaks weren't fully resolved. I was so right about this when I went through IPYTM. And IPTYM closed that for me. IPYTM gave me the very authentic emotional journey and process of change that had been hinted at in ITSAY, the journey that, I think, could NOT have ended with ONLY ITSAY. IPYTM showed me that Teh was going to continue fucking up, because I knew it would happen with where he was in ITSAY. Man. And IPYTM sewed it up convincingly.
Nadao Bangkok, I think, took a HUGE risk to demonstrate this VERY sophisticated change journey in a prestige BL. And they did it of the highest order. It was a celebration of Bangkok, of finding your communities, of finding your friends, your love, yourself, and -- my head is spinning at how WELL it was filmed, and how well the story was told. I love ITSAY, but IPYTM will be my baby. I desperately want Thailand to go to this level again, and I believe they will.
[Alright! I am indeed back on my bullshit and crushing through 55:15 Never Too Late, for its macro BL storyline featuring Khaotung Thanawat and an EarthMix cameo.
Next week, we have my review of Not Me, which I personally loved, but I will not shy away from offering some quibbles about the quality of the storytelling.
A quick note on the list below, as I've made some additions! I've added a rewatch of The Eclipse, in part to compare issues-based series between TE and Not Me. And, on the high recommendation of @lurkingshan and @bengiyo, I am retracting a vow I made to never watch another MAME show again, and am adding Wedding Plan. Shan and Ben have remarked that this show represents a 180-degree turnaround from what I think of as MAME's basis of passive and aggressive bigotry in her work. Maybe she's learned that equity sells. In any case: I'm giving this show a shot to see if the turn is indeed an honest one.
But for now, the OGMMTVC weekly slate of reviews will pause for at least a couple weeks, as I rewatch Bad Buddy. I have a few ideas for a couple of pieces, as really: Bad Buddy is the reason I'm doing this project. To learn about the history of Thai BLs, the tropes, the styles, everything -- reaching the BBS rewatch is a touch of a culmination, as I undertook this project in large part to understand what Bad Buddy was built off of. I can't wait, I CANNOT WAIT, and I have been engaging with lots of friends over the past few weeks about our mutual love and respect for BBS, and I just can't wait to put some of our thoughts into reverent words.

Poly! Elite x wrestler reader?
Please I love anything poly elite
Elite's Princess (Poly! Elite x Feminine! Wrestler! Reader)
Warnings : Age Gaps (Reader is 25)
Tumblr media
Ever since you were a child you had always loved wrestling, even leading up into your teenage years it was always a passion for you, when you were just 16 you started training, getting into NJPW at the age of 20, you encountered people you looked up to as a kid and that was definitely the highlight of your career.
All of that had led you up to this moment, you fasten the laces of your wrestling boots and tie them up in a neat little bow, you stood up and checked yourself out in the mirror, straightening your puffy skirt out and fixing up the frills on your gloves (The outfit would be something like Mizuki's).
Tonight you had your first championship match since joining the AEW, you had a match against Toni Storm and you were hellbent on taking the title off of her, as I'm straightening my long entrance robe out(Like Charlotte Flair), a swift knock on the door of your locker room door caught your attention and you walk over to the door "Who is it?" you question.
"Guess" you squealed and flung the door open "Kenny!" you pulled him down into a hug and looked past him to see the rest of the elite, you smile widely at them and let go of Kenny "Hey! what are you guys doing here?" "come to congratulate you! not every day someone gets a title shot angel face" Nick spoke up as the boys all came into the room "Thanks! I can't wait till I have the championship gold around my waist!"
"Look at the princess, all suited up" said Adam as he stepped over and stared at your robe, picking it up "Arm's up princess, want to see how you look in this" you follow his demand and he slips it onto you, the boys all stare and nod "You look too good to lose princess, now let's get you out there" you nod and make your way to the guerilla with the boys, waiting for your queue "And her Challenger hailing from (Wherever)! The Princess Of The Elite! (Y/R/N)!" your music suddenly starts up and you sashay your way out, doing little spins in your coat to show the fluff and frill.
Tumblr media
The match was going as planned, the crowd was roaring and the cheers were getting louder, until the outcasts came out to ringside to 'spectate' it all went downhill, while Saraya distracted the referee Ruby handed Toni the title and she smashed me across the face with it, I was bent halfway in the ring and Toni ran over, hooking my head between her legs, and hitting me with a storm zero, I felt the air knocked out of my lungs as I struggled to keep my breath, Toni scurries over and pins me, but mid 2 count the lights go out and the ref has to stop the count.
You managed to get up and watched as the titan Tron managed to light up the arena, in a blue shine, your theme was playing as you saw four figures step out from behind the guerilla, it seemed to have all of the outcasts attention as Toni stepped towards the ropes opposite to me "turn around bitch!" I yelled and sprint towards her, hitting her with a V-trigger and watching as she collapses onto the ground, I watch as the Elite start making their way down the ramp but the outcasts block them.
I run to the other end of the ropes and flip over them, taking both Saraya and Ruby out, I look back and Toni got back up so I get myself back up onto the apron and spring board flip over, hitting her with a buckshot lariat, I lay over her as the ref starts counting "1....2.....3!" I scream as I crawl off of Toni, holding my head in shock, then slipping out of the ring, ripping my title from the table and lifting it up.
I back up into the elite with my title raised "I cant believe this! The Elite's Princess actually won the title!" came from the announcers desk, you didn't care who it was, you just cared you were a champion in the arms of your lovers as you made your way backstage.
Tumblr media
I had sat down on my couch and immediately got pounced on by all the boys, I giggle as they all hug me "Our little champion, you did so good out there princess" you smile at Adam and peck his cheek "Thanks" all the boys were proud of you and all showed it in their own way, peppering kisses anywhere they could on your skin as they cuddled you into the couch.
"Now we should go out to dinner to celebrate then?" Kenny asks and I immediately smile widely "I CALL SHOTGUN!" everyone in the room laughs, and I couldn't be happier in this moment then with my boys
A/N I hope you like this because I had fun with this

I don’t know if your write for MJF but can you write Where Reader is married to MJF. And reader goes to an AEW paper view and reader watches the match where MJF becomes AEW world champ?
I am a proud devil worshiper! This is a short one but I hope you enjoy!
My Champ
Word count: 422
Main Masterlist MJF MASTERLIST
Tonight was finally the night, Max got his opportunity for the AEW world championship in his backyard of Newark New Jersey. I was so excited for this match, so proud of Max. Since he returned he was on fire, it was almost like he gained a new form of confidence that was not there before. The months Max was away were definitely difficult to say the least but we made them work. I remember the night at the forum when he cut that promo begging to get fired, I was shocked to say the least. The only good thing that came out of those months at home was that Max and I finally got married. It was a small traditional wedding with family and close friends. Since many people didn’t know about it when I showed up at the arena with Max many were shocked, people stared, gossiped behind our backs but we didn’t care. For once we were happy and I knew that we would be even more happy when Max picks up the victory tonight.
I said my goodbyes to Max and took my seat for the PPV. My emotions that night were all over the place, I witnessed my good friends The Elite make their return, one of my best friends Saraya made her in-ring return after a broken neck and I saw Jamie Hayter become the new AEW Women's world champion. I was so proud of all of my friends who put on a phenomenal show. Before I knew it, it was time for the Main Event. I heard Max’s theme hit and instantly stood up cheering for my husband. I watched him flip off the crowd, spit his gum at a fan and make his way around the ring. He came to the barricade and placed a kiss on my lips. I wasn’t expecting it, the crowd cheered and I obviously blushed. As Moxley made his entrance Max came back to the barricade where we exchanged a few words and another kiss before the match started.
The tension in the air was so high you could cut it with a knife. Myself along with the whole arena were on our feet, not knowing what would happen next. Just then it happened, Regal turned on Mox. He slipped the brass knuckles to Max and when the ref wasn’t looking he hit Mox right in the middle of his head. No one saw it coming, then he went for the pin…1…..2…3.

PDA | C.C.
Tumblr media
Summary: You debut in AEW and join Christian Cage as his On Screen Girlfriend as "The most Controversial Couple in AEW." Before your debut, he asks how far the on-screen PDA is, and she's okay with kissing and all that, and after the successful debut, they discover their is more than just the On Screen romance
Requested by anon.
Author's Note: As a child, I loved the Hardy Boyz. Had the arm bands and necklace and shirts. Younger Bri would be so disappointed in my ass now lmfaoooo. 🥲
You still couldn't believe you made it to AEW. All your years of hard work finally paid off. Tens of thousands of people were going to know you now. Especially with your on-screen boyfriend by your side, the controversial Christian Cage. Tony Khan agreed to place you because of your dramatics in the indies.
"Hey, Y/N, got a second?" Christian asked. You were hyping yourself up to be comfortable in front of a crowd that was going to boo you. You were used to being booed but not in a crowd this big. The crowd certainly wouldn't be happy when Christian's "sons" beat up Danny Garcia. They needed to ensure their "father" kept his belt.
"Yeah, what's up?" You asked and took out your air pods to give your full attention. You shook your arms and rolled your shoulders to loosen yourself up.
"So Danny is going to lay in the middle of the ring after taking a beating by Nick and Killswitch. I'm going to be standing over him with my arm around you. We are going to kiss to end the segment. Are you cool with that?" He asked.
"I don't know. That would be my first kiss after all," you spoke sheepishly. He turned his head to look at you. He knew you were younger than him by quite a few years but not this inexperienced. You couldn't contain your composure and laughed. "Yeah, Christian. I know how to turn a crowd against me. I like it. Count me in,"
He smiled in relief. "I think you and I are going to make one hell of a team,"
💋
Danny Garcia was in the ring celebrating his most recent win. He talked about his match against Christian next week. How he was going to show the veteran whose boss. His tune changed when the Patriarch entrance theme played through the arena speakers.
The crowd booed you as expected. Christian led you, Nick, and Killswitch to the ring. He stopped at the bottom of the ramp. You stood next to him. A big smile on your face as you blew kisses at the enraged crowd.
Killswitch and Nick did Christian's dirty work. Daddy Magic tried to intervene on behalf of Danny, but it was no match. The patriarch laughed as the two of you watched. When Danny lay battered, bruised, and bloodied in the middle of the ring, it was your time to shine.
💋
Christian helped you into the ring. You bent down and shoved Danny's head. The patriarch laughed as you antagonized Danny.
"Should have stayed away, little boy," you sneered and stood up. Christian raised his belt in high in one hand. As expected, he wrapped his other arm around you. He looked into your eyes. You smiled and leaned in for the kiss.
The crowd booed as you smirked in the kiss.
When Collision went off the air, you went up the ring with Christian. His hand rested on the small of your back. Daddy Magic was still trying to get Danny to wake up. Killswitch and Nick walked to your sides. While the boys continued their walk, Christian turned around and raised his belt once more. He kissed you one last time. The crowd even louder than before with their boos.
"I don't believe that was part of the script, Mr. Cage," you pointed out.
"You didn't seem to mind it," he piped back. You went to speak but closed your mouth. The man was older than you and probably heard everything in the book. "Why don't I take you out some time? You'll love Tampa,"
"Sounds like a plan. Nice working with you, Christian. Let's do it again," you winked.

Finally watched aew all in! So here will be all my thoughts for the card and results.
I'm upset that the young bucks won, I feel like acclaimed deserved the titles, or soon the young bucks should let go of them because they've had them way too much. And another tag team deserves to hold them and actually consistently defend them or something like that.
I don't mind that Claudio, yuta, and pac won the trios. I think it'll be good development for yuta plus I'm a Claudio lover so it's a happy day for me to say the least.
I don't care that Mercedes mone had won tbh, not really big on that match. Loved Mercedes entrance tho-
Toni storm and Mariah May put on a phenomenal show, and honestly Mariah did well I think she'll do good for the title. And I cannot wait to see what the timeless toni storm does next.
I am actually upset Christian cage won the casino match ANYONE else would have been more deserving. Luchasaurus, Nigel, Zack, Kyle, orange Cassidy, Adam page. literally anyone else when we have seen SO many short term runs of titles with Christian already. I love him but goddamn we needed someone new.
GO HOOK, YAY, YIPPEE 🎉. Ahem I love hook and he deserves that title so much, I bet Taz is proud of his son. And the fact taz came in?? EVEN BETTER. I'm just super happy he's the ftw champ again and looking good as ever.
Darby and Jack Perry, ngl I'm happy Jack won I hope they don't kill this story yet because the chemistry they have in ring is fucking amazing. They could do a lot with these two, also sting coming in??? Amazing shit was happy to see sting help Darby out and beat the evps asses.
MJF and Will ospreay, wowee I wonder what I'll say omg. anyways I love MJF, before ospreay he was the profile theme so I would have been thrilled with either yet I think they are going to do bigger things with MJF again and let ospreay have a title like that for the moment, I think they'll be using MJF a lot again soon y'know.
Lastly I believe Bryan Danielson and swerve Strickland, Bryan earned that win he will treat the title well and I wish him a good last year before retirement. Though also I wish swerve would keep his title longer I think this match could have been a great end to his career even if he had lost, it would have been bittersweet but also very sweet and such if he actually retired in aew all in.
