y/n who does a funny little thing where they keep taking a little nap in the strangest places while they're supposed to be actively working.
it's not a huge deal since they mostly work after hours in the late night, but... like. why? they never seem tired and the napping spots are... weird. and they're innocent really– but most can't help but notice how the locations become increasingly odd.
it starts somewhere tame and unexpected– there they are, sitting asleep in an out of service go kart at roxy's raceway. roxanne wolf barely even thinks about how uncomfortable the position is, slumped in the seat, head at an angle which almost guarantees a sore neck. roxy just wakes y/n up. y/n laughs it off, apologizes, and goes on with work.
in the kitchen, where the pizzas are made, chica sneaks in to grab discarded trash and other food items that may have been deemed unsafe or unfit for human consumption by now. and there's y/n, sleeping while sitting upright, back leaned against a fridge. chica tries to tip toe around them– but they snap awake. alarmed, chica tries to explain herself– but they only apologize for napping on the job, as per usual, and returns back to their duties.
after hours in the green room are usually reserved for the animatronics to get some alone time. practice for their next show, give themselves pep talks in the mirror, rip everything and anything in the room to shreds if you're monty, or just reorganize, decorating with the bits of fan creations received that day. freddy does this last task very often, considering constantly he received many gifts from his adoring fans. today, his ears pick up a faint noise... something unfamiliar. he sets down a letter on his vanity, looking around. no one. he slowly reads through, hangs some drawings of him up made by enthusiastic children– and heard the noise again. although he's sure of what it is now.
there's a soft snoring, coming from the vents above. lo and behold, from the panel of the vent he can spot their familiar resting figure. how'd they get in there?
by now, everyone's aware of y/n's weird napping habits. it's just a race see who finds them next.
...
curled atop a pile of discarded staff bots, limbs torn from their non-operational bodies, decapitated, and some too dismantled up to even identify as staff bots– is y/n. their eyes are shut, their body completely still.
a certain gator's gaze fixes on them– too scared to scan their vitals, but much too concerned not to move any closer. maybe, this time they weren't sleeping. there was a real possibility someone harmed you– something had knocked you unconscious, leaving you splayed across the pieces and remnants of much more unfortunate staff bots.
if this montgomery could breathe, his breath would be baited.
approaching carefully, slowly, as if too horrified to even figure out their current state–
he watches a small yawn escapes their lips, eyes slowly fluttering open.
"oh... hi." y/n rubs the sleep out of their eyes, as if there's nothing wrong with this current situation or location. they smile up at monty, who wears an expression that is unfamiliar on his face. concern.
"...i just had the weirdest dream." thinking very little about the entire situation, they simply chuckle and shrug their shoulders, apologizing about their strange little nap mishap.
monty only stares a moment. there's a glint in their eyes of something unfamiliar. before he can even speak, they stand up and stretch, walking off briskly.
y/n's good at acting like nothing is out of place. they're casual, nonchalant– as if this was just another nap in the go kart or kitchen.
the truth was, resistance to the afton virus wasn't effortless. it was draining– living hell, as they fought for the right of autonomy, while the stranger within their body grasped for the controls to their mind.
fighting it back took a lot of control. like draining energy from a battery. when that battery ran out, rendering them unconscious as the virus took control? well. y/n didn't quite know what took place once they snapped out of it.
good thing the afton virus dulled their feelings of regret too. maybe the indifference towards their actions was somewhat of a secret blessing.
y/n didn't even worry about being suspected. they didn't wonder whether any of the animatronics picked up on the subtle violet tint in their eyes. being the one sitting in the passenger's seat of their own brain, while someone else took the wheel–
it wasn't their job to worry about it.

Meh. Let's get logical.
Let's talk about how everything worked out in the warehouse.
I just really kind of recognized that I haven't actually talked about this. Mostly cuz I was talking more about Dims story than the others. So we're going to talk about the other animatronics. How they were going in the pizza plex. How sun and moon we're doing. How fasco got the warehouse. And the basic headcanon of how everything functions in warehouse.
Now remember. This was before ruin. It was also before we had any sort of concrete idea on what was happening with the animatronics doing insane. So this is purely headcannon's base around that time frame.
Now. This takes place in one of the after fire stories. It doesn't really care which. All that matters is that in this scenario all the animatronics are unrecoverable. Whether that is because they ran off into the woods or were simply destroyed beyond recognition It doesn't matter. In this story Freddy does run away with Gregory? So this might be the 'official' Afton ending. But anyways. Onwards to the head cannon of how the virus works.
So this is a headcanon I still kind of keep. Which is that the virus is only triggered in security or safety protocols. Basically this thing has been running behind the scenes for a while. Triggered by Vanessa, If the animatronics were in security mode they would be aggressive. It's basically how I explained away how the animatronics only act funky at night. Because that's when their security modes are activated. During the day there in performance mode.
But the reason the daycare was closed early. Is because it also hurt any safety protocols. Basically accidents were now something the animatronics wouldn't exactly take care of right. And the daycare attendance being around kids who have little injuries all the time. That safety protocol that would have helped either prevent those injuries, or take care of them properly. Just weren't working.
Sun and Moon both had this. Moon with his security. Sun with his safety. Any safety or security protocols day performed were just outlandish. Moon was removed first cuz he's supposed to tend to children at nap time. Which is a safety protocol on it all in itself. Son got to stick around for a while longer but it soon became evident that he wasn't caring for the children correctly either. Climaxing with the daycare being closed.
Now we're not going to worry our pretty little heads over anything that happens in the Pizza Plex beyond that. This is the Warehouse AU for goodness sake. Which is where the next little part comes from.
Basically fasco gathered as much as they could. Which included the daycare attendants as they were stuck in the daycare. Then they were able to get their main star Freddy. As he came back with Gregory worried about his health living on the streets. Agreeing to work for them again as long as they rightfully said there animatronics were sentient. And they got Gregory a good home. One preferably that got a free pass to wherever Freddy worked.
So fasco started looking for a place. Y/N in this story has sort of a rich family. They themselves aren't rich tho. So their family started giving them stuff to help them 'build a company'. One of these things was a warehouse. Where else they never used anything but renting it out. Which works well is a gig. Bands, small companies, children who just wanted to rave. Almost everyone was wanting a really big building to just do whatever the hell they want to do. The price was steep, But the space was worth it. Plus it was the best form of a business Y/N made. I will note Y/N doesn't live in the warehouse. They live in a RV.
Fazco took an interest in the warehouse. To them the price wasn't too steep. But they really just wanted to own building. Chuck a new pizza plex in there. So they contacted about just buying the building. What they offered wasn't bad. It was big money. But YN stayed firm. This was a rental. They can't just buy their building. Not without them getting equity. Or at least some sort of control. Fasco continuously try to beg them otherwise. But YN was a stubborn person.
Eventually fazco buckled. They made a deal. Basically they would still pay the rent. But it was way lesser. YN got control of everything That happened in the warehouse. Money from the arcade machines, any other small payments for a certain rides or something. But it also included the maintenance. Animatronics included. Fazco though got every money for the passes and entry. Plus they would pay for staff. Including transforming the warehouse to an attraction. YN agreed. And they honestly we're getting a pretty good deal.
So fazco started to try and fill out their band. Bonnie was found in this universe. He was just damaged and Monty was a good enough replacement. Bonnie was just kind of left in storage. Foxy was also in that storage. Pre-built but never really implemented. Roxy took the fame way too fast. So they clean up these two animatronics they had in storage. And ship them off.
Freddy of course arrived. And fazco fixed up the daycare attendance and music Man. Music man was also found alongside the daycare attendant. His body is just so big you can't miss it. Plus he wasn't as bad the damaged. The area he was in was rather stable. So they both fixed them up. Unfortunately they didn't remove anything when they fixed them up. Virus was still inside both of them.
Now music Man didn't actually have the virus. Or at least not to the severity of the others. While I say that the security protocol was the virus. Music Man has his own security protocol. This bouncer program. It simply just wasn't in the mainframe with the other animatronics because it couldn't. He's ginormous. It wasn't a simple copy and paste. So he doesn't have the virus. Sun and Moon tho, very much do.
I actually have an order for one of the animatronics were woken up. Freddy did not need to wake up. They simply walked him in. Along with Gregory. Which was now YN's problem. They did not realize they signed up for that. The next one they woke up was foxy. Since he was the most spruced up, He was easy. Plus blank. So there were no issues with him. Then it was Bonnie. Who screamed his head off until Freddy was able to calm him down. Immediately latching to the bear. Then was the absolutely massive music man. Who couldn't be woken up in the same area. He woke up with no issues other than a small bit of confusion. He's relatively calm all the time.
Then became the daycare attendants. Oh boy that was fun. Sun of course awoke first. Confusion and panic hitting him. Gregory had of course spilled the beans about sun being mad. Well the Moon. So they had him restrained. Which only panicked them more. YN was looking through their code. Thankfully able to isolate the virus. Which is when they only finally released him. Sun was aggressive. But more scared. Luckily they were able to calm him down.
Unfortunately the daycare attendants had other problems. Released from the virus they were able to think about what they done. And it scared them. At first they thought it would affect anything. But after the first time a kid scraped their knee and Sun panic It was evident it wasn't going to work. This also combining with moon not moving to do his security. He was just too scared to do it.
Which is one Dim is introduced. It became evident that Sun and Moon couldn't do the security and safety protocols. They were just two scarred. So YN basically asked if they would be okay if they just used their old security. Which while they were hesitant. They agreed to. Allowing them to be added to handle their miscoming.
And that's where I'm going to end this before info. It helps explain why Dim exists. It explains how the virus works. Explains how fasco got the warehouse. And basically where the animatronics came from.
I might explain about everyone's placement in the warehouse along with a map. But this is basic info that I kind of hold in my head. Hopefully I shared enough of what I held in my head so there won't be any responses relying on information people don't know.

HELLO SECRET SANTA RECIPIENT I COME TO YOU WITH A VAGUE BUT SLIGHTLY IMPORTANT QUESTION ABOUT YOUR STAFF OF AFTON AU. Mostly, is there a post with a bit more specific information on how YN interacts with Moon on the regular? Like do they have a cooperative relationship or is it more of an antagonistic one? Is Moon by default a 'soft boy TM' or does he still have the 'be a pest' protocol in effect? Or a mix of both? I realized my brain was filling in blanks without understanding how the two work together (or if their relationship is even platonic or romantic or something else for end game) and I don't want to go too far off track from what you had in mind. Also cocomelon eclipse brings me so much joy it is hard to see him as a villain/threat but that could also work to his own advantage of suddenly being a very real danger when the time comes, ok I LOVE YOU GOODBYE.
Hey! I haven't actually made very many, if any, lore posts yet because I was busy with my semester when I thought up Staff of Afton so consider this my first one!
LORE DROP:
At first Y/N sees their relationship as strictly a colleague relationship since they’re both teaming up to figure out more about Blood Moon. They’ll keep their distance before they slowly start to develop a closer friendship over time (slow burn?). This takes a bit longer between Moon and Y/N specifically when he discovers that Blood Moon is him, which is when he seems a bit hesitant to talk about such topics or even get too close to Y/N.
For personality, I went down the route of stereotypical rogue for the reader. Y/N is going to be a character that is very on edge and slow to trust people, so through a lot of the interactions we’ll slowly see them start to open up. That is until the reveal that Moon is actually Blood Moon, when Y/N is going to have a lot of inner conflict on what to do since that trust was broken. Of course, also with the whole “will they, won’t they” with turning in their bounty, they’ll have to determine whether or not they should help remove the curse or run off with their money.
With Moon, I'm going to go with the whole Soft Moon personality, although sometimes Blood Moon’s personality will slip through for a few seconds, enough for him to make small comments, usually morbid in nature. I wanted there to be a big contrast in personality between the two Moons.
In terms of Blood Moon, when he's in a good mood he often seems to take no one seriously and treats everyone like they're a toy. When he's in a bad mood… well usually people don't live to tell the tale. He likes to mess around with the Y/N, teasing them and has taken enough of an interest in them to not harm them (yet). Personality wise you can compare Blood Moon to Virus Moon, he might be a little unhinged.
I also want to note that there are times where Blood Moon is around for longer than a couple seconds, it just becomes less likely as Moon becomes more aware of the curse. Especially with him being determined to not let Y/N figure it out.
In terms of relationships between Sun, Moon, and Y/N, I was planning on it being a QPR endgame. With fluff and nonsexual intimacy between them in later chapters. Although this will take awhile due to some of the angst that's going to happen mid-AU.

FNAF Escape! AU
I'm just gonna vent here for a sec... inhales...
Details
The vibe:
Escort! Sun & Moon
Bounty Hunter! Eclipse
Child Soldier! Y/N
Assassin! Y/N
Crime Noir
City set in indeterminate time...maybe 1950’s? 1930’s? Who knows…
Note:
Sun and Moon are already in a relationship with each other.
Polycule of Sun, Moon, Yn, and Eclipse.
NO ONE considers or identifies their relationship as siblings in this au.
No virus Moon, when he acts like a gremlin its cause of his theater days.
The World:
Takes place in a big city with gangs and mafias.
The Aftons own a famous robotics company and have monopolized the animatronics/robotics industry. They are known for designing and building the best of the best.
The head of the family, William Afton, runs an underground mafia gang that deals with illegal activities that allow him to advance his research and experiments without the Mayor getting on his back. He makes deals with other powerful gangs by trading weapons in order to receive materials and contraband.
The Robot Revolution happened but it was more of a strike/revolt. Robot and AI sentience was something that was hotly debated for a long time, where some people realized they had gotten to the point of being self aware and others still sprouted shit like robots wanted to take over the world and destroy humanity.
Robots in the city just walked away from their jobs and/or refused to do them unless the government agreed to give them full freedom. Some people were hurt, but the majority of them were robots. Angry mobs of humans would destroy robots who were walking in the streets for not following their initial purpose and robots who had their places of work destroyed or were kicked out for no longer complying were left abandoned in the streets of the city.
With necessities like charging, shelter, parts and services, robots quickly realized that they needed money in order to access these things.
In time, the government agreed to give robots full freedom and rights–on paper–, but for a robot to find someone willing to hire them and give them a living wage was incredibly difficult to do. As many humans still considered them to be tools and/or objects to get what they wanted.
Robots are now allowed to live in the city and hold jobs, but no one really cares if a robot received a smaller wage than a human for doing the same job. The majority of freed robots can only get service or labor jobs.
Or a job slightly illegal but more lucrative. Eclipse took this option for a line of work…
Sun and Moon’s Background
They are dating each other in this au.
Despite the fact that the Robot Revolution happened, and robots and AIs earned their freedom, there were still people and places that didn't care for them.
They started out as child entertainers but were forced to become escorts in order to survive. There was nowhere else they could charge their power cells and find parts for their models.
Sun was badly hurt in a revolt, and Moon, running dangerously low on power, was desperate to find a charging dock and find parts to repair his friend.
Moon ended up having to make a deal with the shady owner of the club. The owner would provide the things they needed and both Sun and Moon would work to pay off the debt.
Moon agreed, and when he asked what they would be doing, the owner only said that they would be entertainers.
Both Sun and Moon are stuck there until their debt is paid which keeps getting higher every time they charge, spend a night, need clothes, or literally do anything. A never-ending debt.
They were friends before, but during their time as escorts, they became boyfriends as they both survived and developed some shared trauma.
They desperately want a way out and are willing to do just about anything.
Eclipse’s Background
Eclipse was built to be a security guard for a local casino.
With two pairs of arms (the lower set which he can retract into his torso) and a height of 8 feet, he made the perfect security guard.
He would spend his days keeping a close eye on humans entering and leaving the casino and learned all the dirty ways humans cheated, lied, and/or intimidated to get their way. He was not impressed and developed a dislike for them.
His owner (the owner of the casino) was a greedy and arrogant man who loved money. He always called Eclipse an “it” or “that machine” and treated Eclipse like the world’s most expensive waiter.
Eclipse hated him.
When the Robot Revolution began, Eclipse demanded his owner take the security chip (a chip that restricted Eclipse within the casino) out of him, but he refused and spat on Eclipse. Eclipse used him as a hostage and “persuaded” the mechanics in the casino to remove it. They did and afterwards, Eclipse killed the owner.
Freed from his job, Eclipse left the casino and finally entered the outside world. Similar to Sun and Moon, he soon realized that he needed a charging dock and monthly maintenance. Eclipse didn’t want to go into a service job again–he’s had enough of humans telling him what to do–and finds himself joining a gang.
He worked as a debt-collector for the gang. He realized soon though, that he enjoys the thrill of the hunt (so to speak) in finding people who don’t want to be found for a great sum of money.
He leaves the gang and begins extending his newly marketed "bounty hunting services" to others, basically anyone who can pay his high prices. Occasionally the local police will enlist his help in exchange for them to turn a blind eye towards his less then legal practices and methods. As long as he gets the job done, they don't care what he does, where he does it, or who he does it to.
His skills and reputation grow until he can demand any price he wants from anyone who wants to hire him.
Y/N’s Background
Yn was being trained as a classical dancer which is why her balance, body strength, and agility was so strong for a child.
She was also being trained to sing, it wasn’t her specialty but it’s how she learned breath control.
She wanted to be a professional dancer on stage.
In the days after the Robot Revolts, her parents were killed in a gang shoot-out as bystanders and innocents, and she was left out in the streets with no other family to take care of her.
Yn was a smart kid and became extremely resourceful as a street kid and later took care of her own group of street kids. She was the fastest of all of them so she would often scale the buildings in the city and parkour off of them. This allowed her to travel at very fast speeds, fast enough that she could keep up with a car down on the road. This also improved her agility, balance, and flexibility.
She was taken by the Afton gang and used as a test subject to create an “enhanced human” (read: to test Afton's latest experiment in his quest for immortality) using micro-bots and nano-machines.
Y/n survived the brutal experiments and tests to Afton's surprise and while the experiment didn't yield the results he wanted; y/n was changed. Her physical muscle strength was not improved, her speed, agility, healing, and reaction times were greatly enhanced.
Delighted and seeing her potential, Afton had her train to become a fighter. When she was old enough (12? or maybe 14? idk yet), Afton registered her as a brawler at an illegal underground arena.
This led to her developing a strange fighting style for an arena fighter. Her movements looked more like a dance routine than hand-to-hand combat and her small stature makes many opponents underestimate her.
Afton kept her there for many years until he deemed her to be perfect. Only then did he take her out and "hire" her as his personal bodyguard and security. Y/n went everywhere with Afton and did everything he told her to do. She was basically his personal assassin.
At one point, Afton commands her to bring back a child to perform more experiments with and y/n decides that that's something she's not willing to do. She remembers how painful it was for her and she refuses to be a vital component in some poor child's pain. During a fight, y/n sees her chance and fakes her death.
Running into the city and hiding from the public for weeks. She bummed around in sewers, alleyways, and anywhere where people wouldn't go near until she was sure Afton had bought her death.
y/n barely has anything and needs money to buy a one-way ticket to get out of this godforsaken city and move literally anywhere. But she has no papers, no history, no legal experience, no publicly acceptable skills, and no idea what she's going to do.
In the end, y/n manages to score a job as night security guard at a seedy pleasure club where only the finest crooks and criminals hang out.
This is where she meets Sun and Moon.
Fic Plans
Eventually Afton begins to suspect that Y/n faked her death, so he hires the infamous bounty hunter Eclipse to track her down. Alive or dead, Afton doesn't care. He just wants her found.
Eclipse recently approached Y/n earlier, but it was for another bounty that he caught, and Y/n gets very paranoid that he's hunting for her.
She befriends him when he goes back to check her out at the club where she works at now and manages to figure out that Afton really hired the infamous bounty hunter Eclipse.
Sun and Moon are suspicious about what's got Y/n so frazzled, and y/n ends up spilling about her situation. Moon makes a deal with her, he'll help her hid and find her more information since a lot of the patrons of the club have ties to Afton, and in exchange, when Y/n leaves, she takes Sun and Moon with her.
So begins a deadly game of hide-and-seek with a bloodthirsty bounty hunter, two pleasure escorts who are willing to do whatever it takes to survive, and a child-soldier assassin who only wants to forget her bloody past.

Until that point, you’d never had to deal with Sun’s anger firsthand. Then again, you’d never actually given him a reason to be angry with you.

I doubt it’s gonna happen but I’m so so curious as to how Y/N would feel in a scenario where they were devirused. Frankly, I just want to see them swarmed and drowning in guilt but maybe they’re fucked up enough to have a horrible fascination kinda thing with murder. What would they do in a non canonical scenario like that?
well that's kinda the thing about how i treat afton virus y/n. they're not a good person trapped in a bad situation, they're a bad person that's been given approval towards their ill intent.
afton virus y/n wasn't built with the intent of projecting myself onto a self insert scenario of this variety. i wanted to write them off as a candy-classic villain. they're acting out and killing not because of the virus, but because they want to and just never had the tools to before.
if i were to write them in a way that meant they were acting completely different with or without the virus, i'd effectively be splitting y/n into two personalities and entirely erasing pre-virus y/n upon infection, since i have no intent to de-virus this y/n at any point.
either way this is my long, round-about way of saying that de-virusing y/n wouldn't stop them from killing. while still horrified at the occasional loss of control, i think they'd just be angry at how many kills they didn't get to choose.

So Afton Virus Y/N just works kinda opposite to Solar Lunacy Y/N? Redemption arc for Y/N instead of redemption for Sun and Moon?
oh no it's a corruption arc
i can't write well so i unfortunately can't write a whole storyline for it, and i'm a very slow artist so it's a pain for me to draw out any strips for it, but the whole basis of the storyline centers around y/n dragging sun and moon down to their level

I know you answered a similar question before but in your afton virus Y/N au, I kinda like the idea that (for a more angsty view on it) they could have it like how people interpret Sun and Moon, like moon is the killer and does most of if not all the dirty work whilst sun is an anxious mess who only sees glimpses of what his counterpart did, if not having to clean up and hide the evidence.
But with Y/N, it's the virus controlling most if not all their actions and only letting Y/N out to keep up a facade of being innocent and caring, could also be used as a way to stop Sun/Moon from harming them. For instance Sun/Moon get angry at them for hurting someone and in response, the ball of anxiety that is Y/N gets revealed, who isn't proud of their actions and are quite frankly, terrified of what they've done and Sun/Moon are confused enough to not harm them?
Idk I just saw your posts about it and kinda got really excited about a possible different look into the virus and how it would affect someone who wasn't comfortable with killing, making if more sinister and would play into the loss of control more. Sorry if it goes completely against what you had in mind, this was just like a little scenario that was running around my head so I thought I'd share.
honestly i encourage any different thoughts you might have for it, because honestly i don't really care to hold a monopoly over "afton virus y/n" when it's certainly been done before (feel free to also check out @bones-of-a-rabbit's blog) so feel free to go nuts with it
but like-- just know that i've had a lot of people pushing me towards giving y/n a redemption arc and it's just not my cup of tea. i think redeemable qualities are certainly required, both to build a connection and also to further drive any horror home, but my version of this is meant to be corruption well and true at it's core.
i've written and rewritten the plot to this au so many times it's become a muddled mess, but the only thing that's remained the same is this: this isn't meant to be horror because you've lost control, this is horror because you've become fine with it.
i also! just do not really like writing this as a loss of control, as a fight y/n and this evil version of yourself that you just can't control because that feels like it could be interpreted as im writing this from the perspective of someone with dissociative identity disorder.
of which i am not. given the way this is meant to be explored, it would just demonize anyone living with DID and im not about that.

Would virus y/n feel bad if they accidentally hurt the kids? Or would they pretend to feel bad and be worried but on the inside they just want the kid to stop whining
