Cozumel ist eine weitgehend unerschlossene mexikanische Insel im Karibischen Meer, die gern von Kreuzfahrtschiffen angelaufen wird. Berühmte Tauchplätze liegen etwa an einem Abschnitt des Mesoamerikanischen Riffs im Nationalpark Arrecifes de Cozumel und an den Unterwasserskulpturen im Museo Subacuático de Arte. Mit einem örtlichen Taxi fuhren wir etwa 5 Minuten von der Talstation des Mystic Mountain zu den berühmten Dunns River Falls. Unvergesslich die Szene des ersten Bond-Films „James Bond jagt Dr. No“, als Ursula Andress alias Honey Ryder als Bond-Girl im Bikini aus den Wellen auftaucht. Leider ist der Drehort heute nur mit Sondererlaubnis zugänglich, da er sich auf dem Gelände eines Gästehauses der Regierung befindet. Einige hundert Meter weiter, wo der Dunn River über 200 Meter hohe Kaskaden ins Meer mündet, hat jeder Zugang. Hier kann man mit örtlichen Guides den Wasserfall erklimmen! With a local taxi we drove about 5 minutes from the base station of Mystic Mountain to the famous Dunns River Falls. Unforgettable the scene of the first Bond movie "James Bond chasing Dr. No ", as Ursula Andress alias Honey Ryder emerges as a Bond girl in a bikini out of the waves. Unfortunately, the location is currently only accessible with special permission, as it is located on the grounds of a guest house of the government. A few hundred meters further, where the Dunn River flows into the sea over 200-meter-high cascades, everyone has access. Eigentlich wollten wir etwas entspannen, nachdem die Bobfahrt hinter uns lag. Doch unser Aida Ausflug war streng getaktet und uns wurde nahe gelegt jetzt zu den Ziplines zu gehen um die Gruppe nicht zu verlieren. Ich persönlich wollte das mit den Ziplines eigentlich aus lassen, da ich ziemlich starke Höhenangst habe und den Stahlseilen in der Karibik nicht vertraut habe. Doch der Guide und mein Freund überzeugten mich letztendlich dazu mit Stahlseilen durch den Dschungel zu fliegen. Und es ist Gott sei dank alles gut gegangen. Nach der 3 Zipline hatte ich auch kaum noch Angst. Es hat mit der Zeit immer mehr Spaß gemacht und ich konnte meine Höhenangst überwinden. Auf meinem Reiseblog und meinem Youtube Kanal findet Ihr die vollständigen Videos zu den Ziplines. 😅 -------------------------------------- Actually, we wanted to relax a bit, after the bobsleigh ride was behind us. However, our Aida outing was strictly timed and we were advised to go to the Ziplines now to avoid losing the group. Personally, I really wanted to leave that out with the Ziplines, as I'm quite afraid of heights and did not trust the steel cables in the Caribbean. But the guide and my friend finally convinced me to fly with steel cables through the jungle. And thank God, everything went well. After the 3 Zipline I was hardly afraid anymore. It has always been more fun with the time and I was able to overcome my fear of heights. Auf dem Heimweg besuchten wir noch die Sandbank „Miami Beach“ mitten im Ozean.
