A chilled day out in the Aiguilles Rouge today checking out snow conditions there. The scariest part of my day was at the exit of the valley ... skiing across that bridge on a knife edge section of snow! With one incorrect move it could have resulted in me taking a swim in the river! Can someone please go and set up a webcam there to see all the horrified faces of those that build up the courage to cross it on skis! It could offer some decent chamonix valley entertainment for us all. We skinned up to Col de Bérard. The snow on the north aspect was powdery. The south aspects were crust underneath and anything that has had the sun on it today will be crust tomorrow as it was really hot this afternoon there.

I got to hang out with Kieran today. He is a snowboard instructor in the valley and loves a good jib. It is inspiring to watch him ride and hard to keep up with him on the decent! #chilldays #snowspotting #ridingwithfriends #scarybridges #nolifts #berardvalley #aiguillerouge

#Panorama depuis le sommet du #belvédère 2965M , point culminant du massif des #aiguillesrouges . La particularité de ce #sommet est qu'il est constitué de roche #sédimentaire , qui a était arraché du socle lors de la poussée du massif du #montblanc . Récit de la précédente aventure : Je devais le gravir 2 jours plus tôt , mais l'orage s'annonçant , j'ai du renoncer et littéralement fuir vers l'index , où je savais pouvoir m'abriter . Arriver devant la remontée mécanique , les gars de la #CMB voyant arriver des familles, des enfants pas équipés pour affronter un orage font embarquer tout le monde , moi compris .. Youpi !! A mi parcours , patatra !! La foudre tombe sur un pylône et le télésiège s'arrête. Étant parti comme un pied nickelé sans ma veste de pluie ( oui je sais : pauv' gland merci ) , je commence a croire sue je vais prendre une triquée mémorable assis sur le télésiège . C'était sans compter sur l'excellence des équipes de la #compagniedumontblanc , qui passent en mode #fautqueçamarche , et en 5 minutes c'était reparti . Finally treading on #montblanc 🏔️ Today 23 week old #minimunchi 👶🏻🍼🏔️ made it to her (or his) second and third glacier at #lajonction (the junction) #chamonix where the #bossonsglacier and #taconnazglacier are joined. After visiting #øksfjordjøkelen glacier earlier this year #minimunchi could tread on two new glaciers. At 2585masl the air was thin and the oxygen content low. But this didn't keep #munchi and #glacierbaby #minimunchi from hiking 1600 vertical meters to get to one of Chamonix' classics and enjoy the beautiful vista of #aiguilledumidi #dômedugoûter and #aiguillesrouges #alpinistinthemaking (ved La Jonction)
