I’m gonna be reposting a lot of old British politics things (especially New Labour), mostly in a jokey, ironic way, (yes, they’re all war criminals,) but I’ll probably blog about some new things too! My main is @zero-love .

I am a big fan of The Rest Is Politics, especially their ‘agreeing to disagree agreeably’ - I’m open to discussion and debate but will ignore abusive/mean messages.

I’m a Remainer, and left of centre - floating between Greens and Lib Dems, maybe Labour one day. I really don’t like Nigel Farage.

Cam I just say how nice it was to see Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell on the Channel 4 Coverage of the general election.

I don't fully agree with either of their politics, but I really do believe that they are honest about their beliefs and that they care for their country. I also believe that they are generally nice people (at least they are now, I understand that Alastair has been and still is often a *bombastic* debater). But watching them last night I got a real sense that they had found a way to reach across the isle and form a real friendship.

No better example than one of the livelier debates Campbell had with Nadine Dorries, where he turned to Rory, a conservative! And told him to 'say something grown up'. Rory then helpfully moved the conversation along and all was well.

Through their podcast the pair have made something truly special - a combination of two long political careers and networks that is doing a real good job at marketing politics to a younger audience, but they have also formed a respectful friendship that we don't see often in politics, and I think that is just as good.

Do I entirely agree with either politically? No. But I think the UK electoral system is far better with them and their podcast than without it.
