How is cyberfeminism important in our society?
As explained in “Rethinking Cyberfeminism”, cyberfeminism focuses on gender equality and inclusivity in terms of how gnder and technology tie into eachother. With the use of technology, women are able to experiment with these new technologies that come into the world. Many people, like ourselves, use social media on a day to day basis. With the use of social media people are able to express themselves in many ways and share their thoughts with the world. Although social media can be a scary place, people find a way to create a positive environment where they can advocate for gender rights. There are many individuals and even company pages that use social media as a space to promote gender rights and make sure everyone feels welcomed and included. With these technological advancements our world has made, we are able to promote equality and inclusivity whether it be the people around us or people across the globe. The power of social media and the internet has made it possible to bring together many different people and communities, and allows them to communicate and express themselves to people who can relate and help them.
How can technology be anti-black?
Just as Nicole Brown mentioned, many technologies and algorithms tend to oppress many people of color. She mentioned how predictive policing had targeted black communities as “violent” since they had been scored on how likely they were to be connected to gun violence in their area. She had also mentioned that most of the people being targeted had never committed crimes, and some targets were even children. There are many other ways technology opresses not only blacks but all people of color. Tecnologies such as social media harrasment, digital divides, historical exclusions, etc. There are so many imperfections with our technology that target and exclude people of color. Many colored individuals are so often targeted online, such as trolling, that lead to mental health and safety problems. Digital divide are also mostly in black/colored communities meaning they dont have the same access to technology as other communities.

Yeah and like thats such an interesting concept to tinker withhhhh
like besides the obv reference to how organizational structures are shaped by biases and how they can opress(no spiderman exists without a canon event hence every spider must have a tragic life) and to how the algorithms and theories and everything that we create are affected by our internal biases(algorithm predicts canon events(and also likely looks at a scenario and when it sees a canon event likely to happen with other spiders around(in the case of Pavitr, Gayatri dead or officer Singh dead) alerts other spiderppl to not interfere cus THE ALGORITHM said it was a canon event thus causing an entirely preventable death cus "no spider is without tragedy"))
The Spider Society plot imo didn't get the justice it deserved, theres so much more that could be expanded on, so much more they couldve done. So much more nuance couldve been added ,the new characters couldve been fleshed out so much more and we couldve gotten a good glimpse into how institutions function, which wouldve definitely helped given that Miles' arc in this movie was gaining independence and being able to raise their voice against authority when its being autocratic and unfair and bringing radical change, and giving the movie a bit more depth and nuance by not delineating the spiders into "the good spideys" and "the bad spideys"(like ok we see there are "good people" on the bad side but by the time were near the ending of the movie we have a very obv good and bad faction, and we have a "villain fight" with Miguel and Miles and it just feels like it couldve been developed so much more cus it just felt incomplete how we suddenly shifted into bad Miguel literally i think 15 minutes after his introduction and how they had to just exposition his backstory in 1 min just to give Miguel some depth) and making his fight and later "I live by my own truth" feel more real
PS I just watched the films and im basing my opinions off of one single watch so i am not sure abt times and neither do i have a complete views of the themes i feel this movie portrays. also theres alot more i wanna say but ill talk abt Hobie in another post maybe if i make one and not just responding in a reblog
The antagonist of Across the Spider-Verse is someone who decided that "Well, canon sucks for me so it should suck for all of you too"

Can you help me explain what rads thought was gospel? And that algorithm thing what was that? Thank you!!
oof I'm not going to really do this justice, but the whole party line of this huge segment of fandom (which bleeds heavily into discourse in larrie circles without people really realizing it- people will accept certain things as fact and then use them to base arguments off of without realizing that those ideas are just things said without basis by people who also believe, for example, that Harry is actively working to sabotage Louis' career because he hates him) is that Louis is constantly fighting his label and team because they force him to do things (like for example the reason he talks about stunt stuff is because otherwise 'THEY' won't 'LET' him tour rather than, the choices and trade offs a closeted person makes to make it in the industry are complex and sometimes shitty) and that his label and team don't do the things they should to support him and that powerful people in the industry are actively working to sabotage his career to the extent of paying radio stations NOT to play his songs because he crossed people while in 1D. And so they are very protective of him, which is nice right like aren't we all, but specifically with an inflated sense of self importance-- we have to do promo for Louis because NO ONE ELSE WILL, his label doesn't do anything the only reason any of his releases have any success at all is fan projects (yes people seriously believe this)-- and with feeling sorry for him like POOR LOUIS HE IS SO OPRESSED BY THE POWERS THAT BE (and by Harry, lol) OUR POOR HELPLESS VICTIM BABY. Louis himself, in contrast, has spent the last few years repeating that he would rather people did not feel sorry for him in a way its hard not to feel is pointed, and telling us that he has chosen to do something other than chase number ones in a way that also feels pointed (especially that he would keep repeating that while occasionally also admitting that well... it would be all right if it happened! and making some efforts to see if he can make it happen without compromising what he wants to do), and we have seen firsthand all the things his label and team are doing (including A LOT of promo) and how well it is all working. But you still get folks who will say that he's lying, he's being made to say that stuff, that his team are lying- I literally saw a post saying that the head of BMG Italy was lying about the capacity of the Milan show, that it wasn't really 17k or whatever it was, to make it look like Louis was doing well when really his tour was flopping because BMG didn't want to do their job, or, something. IDEK. So when someone says 'wow look the algorithm put Louis on a spotify indie playlist!', maybe they just don't understand how spotify/promo/capitalism work and think that's how you get a new single on spotify playlists (it's not; your label/ team pay them) but just as likely they are coming from a place of, we know his team doesn't do promo (because some people on tumblr said so) so this must be how it got there!
In today’s article we learn tons about exactly what is being done behind the scenes, and we get Louis saying how he chose the people he works with and is happy with that choice and that it bothers him to be pitied. But I can tell you with certainty that at least one person will unfollow me for this, 3 others I don’t know about will block me, and nothing will change any more than it has at any other point over the last 3 years when he told us the same stuff :/ it’s always simpler to have a villain to be mad at when things happen that aren't what you want (Louis coming out, Louis being the biggest pop star in the world, whatever) after all
#fandom dynamics#it's related to purity culture; if things can only be Good or Bad then obvs louis can't be bad#so someone else must be if things are happening other than what you want to happen (him coming out)

I really like AI and algorithm and the whole shebang designed to push nonsense onto me.
Example how poorly it works.
Instagram and YouTube have been shoving Naruto into my face for months now. I have not indulged or enjoyed Naruto since I was 9, this is insane. Why would anyone think I'd like to see cheap Naruto related memes. You really think reiterating the same "Sakura is useless, huehueuehue" is enjoyable? Do anyone find it enjoyable? Maybe if Kishimoto knew how to write women we wouldn't have this issue, but weeboos are not ready to have this conversation.
Example number two: I bought a shampoo bar almost a month ago. Now I see 99 kinds of shampoo bar daily in ads. How many shampoo bars does a girl need? Or how many she can afford? And I'm also 85% certain that some of these ads are straight up made up. Some of the pictures they're showing me, I can in 2 minutes find in better quality, with actual brand on it.
But when I search for stupid scientific shit for hours on repeat AI is like "this cannot stop me because I cannot read". If you want to spy on me and abuse my gullible nature, try harder. Don't half ass it. You better recommend me books or discounted flights to Creta next time.
Tumblr ads are at least funny in how farfetched they are. Lowkey, highkey, would rather see people be opressed for not shaving their balls than see another sad and deep shit about death of what's-his-face-mentor for Naruto or ad for "pay for 2, get none" product I happen to search recently.

For annotation blog 2.3 i will be using the following quote from Algorithms of Opression by Safiya Noble, " Racial identities are obtained not because one is unaware of The Choice of ethnic labels with which to call oneself, but because one is not allowed to be without a race in a racialized society." Pg 79 (chapters 2-4)
The process of racialization Is of a hierarchy, And category's, social spaces and positions. This resonates with me because it is very true in the society that I've grown up in whether it be from the national political atmosphere or a show on Disney Channel, there is always a hierarchy in regards to race. We don't really notice it because it's been so normalised .
Earlier in the reading Noble talks about how even setting up diversity programs through Google Has been a struggle. For many years even Google contributed to racial marginalisation. This hierarchy that's being talked about You can commonly see like mentioned above in TV shows. The white guy always plays the main character and there's usually black supporting character. Very rarely is someone of colour the main focus. This is a very very popular structure in the entertainment industry. Where things like this influencing our everyday lives and being a part of our everyday lives, we naturally associate ourselves with characters we can relate to.If a little girl wants to be a princess she might gravitate towards a wealthy white woman character.A black boy might find a black character to be more relatable, intriguing, and overall more sympathetic.
In today's society we find the need to fit people into categories and this is why in high school everyone has their click. For hundreds of years racism has existed and we have already discussed how racism stems from hierarchy between white and black people. The teachings of Finding who we are and where we belong is attached to our identity which people associate skin colour with. As I've mentioned before I was raised in a mixed household so I don't see myself as just white but that's how the world sees me. It's also why I am a big believer in racism goes all ways even though it stems from white people oppressing people of color. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of where you came from but I do not think that the colour of your skin is what solely defines you.

Hi ladies check out Algorithms of Opression by Dr Safiya Umoja Noble if you would like to read more about the biases of algorithms and how algorithms reinforce racism :)
How Math Can Be Racist: Giraffing
You may have heard about AOC catching a lot of flack from conservatives for claiming that computer algorithms can be biased – in the sense of being racist, sexist, et cetera. How, these people asked, can something made of math be biased? It’s math, so it must be objectively correct, right?
Well, any computer scientist or experienced programmer knows right away that being “made of math” does not demonstrate anything about the accuracy or utility of a program. Math is a lot more of a social construct than most people think. But we don’t need to spend years taking classes in algorithms to understand how and why the types of algorithms used in artificial intelligence systems today can be tremendously biased. Here, look at these four photos. What do they have in common?

You’re probably thinking “they’re all outdoors, I guess…?” But they have something much more profound in common than that. They’re all photos of giraffes!
At least, that’s what Microsoft’s world-class, state-of-the-art artificial intelligence claimed when shown each of these pictures. You don’t see any giraffes? Well, the computer said so. It used math to come to this conclusion. Lots of math. And data! This AI learns from photographs, which of course depict the hard truth of reality. Right?
It turns out that mistaking things for giraffes is a very common issue with computer vision systems. How? Why? It’s quite simple. Humans universally find giraffes very interesting. How many depictions of a giraffe have you seen in your life? And how many actual giraffes have you seen? Many people have seen one or two, if they’re lucky. But can you imagine seeing a real giraffe and not stopping to take a photo? Everyone takes a photo if they see a giraffe. It’s a giraffe!
The end result is that giraffes are vastly overrepresented in photo databases compared to the real world. Artificial intelligence systems are trained on massive amounts of “real world data” such as labeled photos. This means the learning algorithms see a lot of giraffes… and they come to the mathematically correct conclusion: giraffes are everywhere. One should reasonably expect there might be a giraffe in any random image.
Look at the four photos again. Each of them contains a strong vertical element. The computer vision system has incorrectly come to the belief that long, near-vertical lines in general are very likely to be a giraffe’s neck. This might be a “correct” adaptation if the vision system’s only task was sorting pictures of zoo animals. But since its goal is to recognize everything in the real world, it’s a very bad adaptation. Giraffes are actually very unlikely.
Now, here’s the clincher: there are thousands and thousands of things that are over-represented or under-represented in photo databases. The AI is thoroughly giraffed in more ways than we could possibly guess or anticipate. How do you even measure such a thing? You only have the data you have – the dataset you trained the AI with in the first place.
This is how computer algorithms “made of math” can be sexist, racist, or any other sort of prejudiced that a human can be. Face photo datasets are highly biased towards certain types of appearances. Datasets about what demographics are most likely to commit crimes were assembled by humans who may have made fundamentally racist decisions about who did and didn’t commit a crime. All datasets have their giraffes. Here’s a real world example where the giraffe was the name “Jared.”
Any time “a computer” or “math” is involved in making decisions, you need to ask yourself: what’s been giraffed up this time?
Thanks to Janelle Shane whose tweet showing her asking an AI how many giraffes are in the photograph of The Dress prompted this post.
Please note that Microsoft does try to take steps to correct their computer vision system’s errors, so the above photos may have improved their detections since they were first evaluated by @picdescbot.
#i had to read it for a class#was p good#although iirc the paper was due the day after my 21st birthday#and it was arguably the worst written paper of my life

New from Al and Linda Lerner on Movies and Shakers: TENET
Confusion reigns in this mess of a movie. It’s so hard to follow, we almost wished we could rewind scenes, as Christopher Nolan’s plot does, to try to understand it. Still, it was exciting to see our first big action flick in a theater since March, safely, with only a handful of other audience members.
The sound design of this film is opressively loud. If you go to see it in a theater, take ear plugs. But know that might make it almost impossible to hear the details of Nolan’s time travel premise. The actors are often drowned out by the ear shattering score speaking mumblecore. The actors seem to be mumbling through their lines. We had to strain to hear what might be explanations. And every time you’re about to get an action scene, the volume ramps up to new heights.
John David Washington (Blackklansman) has already proved himself a great actor, but he might not have been the best choice for this role. That doesn’t mean that he didn’t meet the challenges of the action scenes, but that his personable and engaging personality didn’t ring true for the strikingly hard persona he is portraying as The Protagonist. Nolan doesn’t even give his character a name.
His character ends up trying to protect the wife of a Russian oligarch. Kenneth Branagh is all too convincing as controlling rich, Russian villain, Andrei Sator, who is trying to procure a new power to destroy the world. His broad character machinations are spot on. And He also wants to destroy his wife, Kat, played stoically by the lithe Elizabeth Debecki (Widows, The Burnt Orange Heresy). All she wants is custody of their son and to get him away from her tyrant of a husband. It seems pretty standard and without much emotion. There’s practically no tie nor friendship, let alone romance, between The Protagonist, (Washington) and Kat. This thin emotional plot line leaves you wondering why he felt compelled to get so involved in the first place to save her.
Robert Pattinson saves the day with his more aloof, let’s not take this too seriously, demeanor. Even his suits are more relaxed than Washington’s. It always looked as if Washington was trying to be something he was not. At times, with all the bells, whistles, gadgets and fancy locales, this film looks a bit James Bond-ish. But even with the lush locations, the characters are definitely not as slick. Pattinson comes close and provides a little relief.
Nice to see Michael Caine looking so well, but he’s in there for a minute. But also nice to see Dimple Kapadia as Prya, the female mastermind behind the time-bending new technology.
It looks like the trappings and action scenes try to make up for what’s lacking in the story. The scene where Washington and Pattison bungee up a building is impressive parkour. So is Washington using every chef’s tool in sight battling several men through a high-end hotel restaurant kitchen. The big rotating cylinders that take the characters backwards and forwards through time are curious objects, but ill explained. And the use of a runaway plane plowing into a building for distraction is definitely explosive. There are plenty of explosions throughout along with cars and broken glass flying along with the bodies. Though, thankfully, not that much blood.
The big chase scene with cars going forward and in reverse at break speed is exciting, but not heart-pounding, and the stunts with people jumping between cars is so unreal, you almost expect it.
In the final scenes, in some remote place, we are never told what it is or where. It’s jam-packed with men covered in black combat gear in a supreme battle. But it’s hard to know who’s who. It’s just all very confusing. Scientific terms, especially the word, “algorithm,” are bandied about without much explanation and the visuals go by so fast that it’s hard to decipher what it all means. Playing with time travel so that you can leave seeds from the future in the present is an interesting premise, but it gets lost here.
Does this film look like it cost $250 million to make? Yes. But the story is structurally convoluted. Just like the palindrome title of the movie, it goes back and forth the same way. You might want to wait until Tenet is streaming so you can play it forward and in reverse to figure out what Nolan was really going for. And you’ll be able to control the volume.
Warner Bros. 2 hours 30 minutes PG-13
In theaters only

WHAT IS SEO
We all have must listened this word SEO. We have heard this a number of times. And also have a keen interest to know more about SEO. So this article will let you know about what is SEO and also the tips for SEO. SEO stands for the Search Engine Optimization .SEO is a way to get the traffic on your site. But the SEO can be done in two ways i.e. White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO. The way in which we follow all the Google algorithms is the White Hat SEO and another way in which we don't follow the Google algorithm is the Black Hat SEO. So what are the Google algorithm -So exactly no one knows the Google algorithm as Google changes its search algorithm around 500 to 600 times a year but it doesn't picked by the user. So SEO is basically of two types- ON Page SEO & OFF Page SEO. ON Page SEO So ON Page SEO is that type of SEO in which we do changes to our website Blog9T or we do changes to website pages according to the requirement to rank our website on search engine result page. Basically we make the proper use of the keywords in our title, description and the URL. Google has their bot which are used to check our website and if it is right then it will rank. Things that we have to keep in our mind are oSearch a keyword that is being searched a number of times on Google and target that keyword and make an appropriate use in your website. oThe name of the domain/URL it should be user friendly. oThe title that we have used, keyword should be there. oContent should be appropriate and SEO Blog9T user friendly. oConvert the site from http:// to https:// oPage speed or the load time of the website be less. oBroken links should not be there in the website. oBounce back rate should be low. oClick through rate should be high. OFF Page SEO As the name suggests the OFF Page SEO is that type of SEO in which work done outside the website to rank our website on search engine result page is the OFF Page SEO. In this method of SEO we build the link is known as link building. OFF Page SEO is done to get the back the backlinks .As the backlinks will help to improve our website rank on website on search engine result page. So we need backlinks but it's all about the quality backlinks not the backlinks in quantity. While getting the backlinks one thing we need to keep in our mind is that the term PA & DA. We should try to get the backlinks of the websites which have the good PA & DA. If we get the bad backlinks to our website then there is possibility that our website can also be banned by the Googlebots. So we should go with the quality backlinks. The ways by which we can get the backlinks are - oBusiness listing oLocal listing oSocial bookmarking oArticle submission oContent marketing oPress release submission oGuest blogging oBlog commenting oInfo-graphic submission oProfile Submission oClassifieds oForum submission oBlog directory submission oQuestion & answer websites oVideo submission oImage submission oSocial media engagement oInfluencer outreach

Lithops (1/4)
aka “I just want someone to wrap Savage in a blanket after Witches of the Mist, wait why does Maul have a wookiee padawan now??” Still fiddling with the wording and I’ve written drafts for all parts apart from the scene I made this AU up for (wow I suck) and I’ve gotten used to the luxury of rewriting all parts simultaneously into a coherent whole instead of doing a WIP, so I’m probably gonna change stuff, but. First draft done.
thx @sl-walker for saying it’s not bad fanfic when i made fun of myself for making up this AU!!!!
The comm system flashes insistently, just when Scimitar is about to begin her slow long dive over nightly Kooriva. An uncommon enough sight in and of itself, the incoming calls signal, but it’s especially worrying now, when Maul was just about to disable every system apart from life support in order to drift down undetected. Being contacted shouldn’t happen. It doesn’t figure into the plan. It shouldn’t even be possible, really, after the myriad precautions they’ve taken, including a complete scrubbing of Scimitar’s telecommunications facilities.
The mission’s delicate: Padawan Gwyolduhbeccu has secured an unpaid internship in the Trade Federation’s local office, and Maul himself is infiltrating Senator Passel Argente’s home staff and investigating possible Sith ties, without drawing any attention. Without notifying him—notifying the traitor Dooku, notifying the Galactic Senate—of the Jedi Order’s suspicions.
It’s dangerous, and more than slightly illegal. It requires extreme discretion.
That’s why they sent Maul, after all.
(His infiltrations may be called dark, by those who value looking pure over Jedi lives, but Maul knows better. The Council knows better. The good of the many outweighs a Knight’s image.)
This mission is delicate. No-one has this frequency. No-one, apart from select members of the Council.
Padawan Becs is just as unnerved, apparently. She moans in agitation. Her claw pauses over the console, and waits to poke it until Maul has given his permission.
Maul glances at the chronometer and sighs. This is unwise. The Trade Federation could be scanning the space around Kooriva for any type of signal. They certainly have the credits for data mining centers with sophisticated algorithms and an army of sentient overseers; the collection of ridiculously large quantities of irrelevant data should provide no deterrence. However, weighing the slightly increased risk of discovery against the certainty of lecturing, when they return home after the scheduled month of communications blackout… The consequences are nowhere near comparable, but he truly does not enjoy being accused of not taking the Council seriously. He authorizes the call and says, “Good afternoon, Master Windu.”
“Re-route immediately.” No time for politeness, then. Just as well.
“I apologize, Master Windu, but this current mission is extremely time-critical and above all, requires stealth,” Maul says, even while he brings the engines back online. Three months of intel gathering, weeks of prep, the soft Koorivan inflections they’ve trained into their accents. The internship application, with its carefully calibrated set of competences and loyalties and naiveté, and the pitiful story of a wookiee orphan, so far from Kashyyyk, just yearning for a chance to prove herself. The complete overhaul and ghastly repainting of Scimitar. All for nothing.
He pulls the ship around and guns the engines.
Carefully, Maul breathes out his irritation before he adds, “Flying this close to Kooriva could possibly alert Senator Argente—”
“Re-route. I’m sending the exact coordinates now.”
“But, Master, that’s just… empty space?” Gwyolduhbeccu asks when she’s set the navcomputer.
Maul repeats the question in Basic.
Master Windu shakes his head. “It’s the location of a Separatist frigate. The projected location, based on realspace travel at constant speed without altering its trajectory. It should be accurate for at least half an hour, so hurry. Master Kenobi and Skywalker have tracked Savage Opress there, Dooku’s new apprentice. He’s murdered the Toydarian king and abducted the corpse.”
“So, this is a reinforcement?” Maul remembers meeting Dooku in person, dimly, when he was a new Padawan and Dooku hadn’t yet turned traitor. He was an impressive swordsman, and cold. Maybe he just didn’t like Master Windu.
He’s never met the new Sith—his own modus operandum is infiltration and plausible deniability in service of all beings that live in the galaxy, not sudden mindless carnage, and so their paths are not likely to cross—but he has heard of Devaron’s fate. Of the slaughter of the Jedi there. Increasing their numbers on the frigate is prudent, regardless of Obi-Wan and Skywalker’s undeniable skill.
It’s flattering that Master Windu has recognized Maul as a match for the Sith’s apparent brutal strength, but… “Was it necessary to terminate my mission? Surely there are other adept fighters in the vicinity.”
“There are no zabraks in close proximity.”
Maul’s glove creaks. “Master—”
“Dathomiri hybrids are a very tribal people,” Master Windu says, as if Maul didn’t know this, hadn’t researched and rejected the planet that spat him out. As if he hadn’t been watched like a farlus hawk as a baby, after the desperate Nightsister that may have been his mother had chanced upon a travelling Jedi and handed him over, her parting gift nothing but life and the markings that wind around his body and stink of dark magic. Nightbrothers are tribal, Master Windu says, as if it was new information. As if Maul hadn’t been watched, not just for the darkness of his blood but for the so-called inborn need for affection.
The meticulous research he did on the Sith until Master Nu tossed him out of the library, the way he studied the pitfalls of the dark side that he was going to avoid—luminous beings are we, it is his choice alone and biology is nothing—it’s always been taken as a marker of something indelibly sinister.
The missions he takes provoke whispers of a congenital darkside taint he cannot escape, when they truly are nothing but evidence of his utter dedication to the Jedi Order. His reluctance to order his Padawan into battle is not prudence, apparently. It isn’t even classed as ambition, although training a youngling to knighthood and therefore receiving the rank of Master is certainly easier if the Padawan isn’t shot dead. No. It’s being tribal.
He pointedly does not seethe. It’s hard.
“He will recognize you. Opress has murdered many of our most capable Knights and Masters, but he’s still a nightbrother. I do not believe he would attack his own kin the same way.”
This is too much. Maul loses his grip on serenity. “You’re terminating my mission because of my biological species.”
Master Windu sighs. “Knight Maul—”
“I am one of the only Jedi who could challenge this new Sith on my own and win, and you know this. I am disciplined. I am powerful. I have completed every mission you have ever sent me on.” Every mission, apart from Kooriva, now. Blast it all.
“Maul—”
“Few Jedi have mastered Vaapad, and I am one of them. You trained me yourself. You trained me. You were proud of me, you said. And now, you are sending me into this fight because both me and the Sith happen to have horns.”
“I did not say that.”
Really? Maul raises a single contemptuous eyebrow. He makes sure his left hand is in full view of the holocom lens before he waggles index and middle finger and enunciates, “Opress ‘would not attack his own kin’ is how I believe you phrased it.”
The miniature blue Master Windu looks at him, completely unimpressed.
Kriff. And in front of Gwyolduhbeccu, too. “I apologize, Master,” Maul says. Not, ‘I don’t know what came over me.’ That would be a lie, and he’s been enough of a bad example today. Not, ‘I was wrong.’ Still, he shouldn’t have complained.
“Accepted.” Master Windu’s face comes closer. He’s bending over the holocom, now, for some reason. It’s as if he’s whispering a secret. Maul doesn’t want to be more curious than angry, but he is. “I am not just sending you because you are born of Dathomir, Maul. This is a shatterpoint. I have felt it. Somehow, this fight with Savage Opress will matter. I trust you will treat this situation with the gravity it deserves. Do not listen to your pride. Listen to the force.”
“ETA five minutes for the rendezvous with the frigate, Master. May the force be with you,” Maul says, and switches off the holocomm.
Becs grins.
“It is beyond me why you’re so elated, Padawan. We’re flying into an active war zone. This is a code esk mission, now, and you’re going to keep your feet in the ship, your eyes on the comm and the engines hot, in case Kenobi and Skywalker need sudden evac when I find them. You may gun down any approaching droids.”
“Don’t be grumpy, Master,” Gwyolduhbeccu moans. “Master Windu loves you too.”
Maul shakes his head in mock despair, and then he stretches out his arms as well as he can behind the steering wheel. There’s no time or room for proper meditation, but still, it is better than nothing, and he should be calm. He should be loose-limbed, not cramped from hours of flight and bad news and the conversations about Dathomir he cannot seem to escape.
Savage Opress is not to be underestimated. Their unfortunate biological connection has reawakened criticisms Maul thought were laid to rest long ago.
This fight will matter.
Kinda unsure about making Maul this angry because on the one hand, this is Not the Jedi ideal, but otoh he has Reasons
#dimtraces makes things#silly wishfulfillment AU#now with some Themes because why not#& with zero fulfillment of the Wish in this part because I tried to make it semi not nonsensical#also I tried v hard not to slip back into Savage's narrative voice so I hope this reads differently!
