"Our protection teams are working with children released from the Israeli military detention system, these children report sexual violence, including rape. They report being denied food, beaten and attacked by dogs. They report seeing their parents stripped and beaten in front of them. These children are struggling to cope with the profound trauma, mental and physical harm this has caused." -Louisa Baxter, Save the Children’s Emergency Health Unit, reporting from Gaza.

"I was part of the human rights vetting process for arms going to Israel. And a charity called Defense of Children International Palestine drew our attention at the State Department to the sexual assaults, actually the rape of a 13 year old boy that occured in an Israeli prison in Mascobiyya in Jerusalem. We examined these allegations. We believe they are credible. We put them to the government of Israel. And you know what happened the next day? The IDF went into the Defense of Children International Palestine offices and all their computers and declared them a terrorist entity." -Josh Paul, former US State Department Official.

In response to rape allegations in 2021, Israeli authorities shut down a Palestinian NGO after reported allegations to the US State Department that Israeli forces had raped a 15 year old boy.

From a March 24th Al Jazeera video; "A video has surfaced showing Israeli forces assaulting a child in a shop in Hebron, this happened two weeks ago but we're getting video now. The soldiers can be seen attacking the boy, forcing him to take off his top, apparently because it had a gun printed on his shirt."

Israel has a long history of systematically holding Palestinian children captive.

"One of them caught me, hit me on my chest with a butt of his rifle. He pushed me on the ground and then all started beating me. They arrested me and took me into detention and beat me again and cursed at me." -Former detainee, Fawzi Junaidi, 13 Feb 2018.

A July 2023 Save the Children report shows what Palestinian children arrested by Israeli forces went through;

At a time when Eid al-Fitr comes to Muslims, which is a day of celebration, joy and happiness, when people wear their best clothes, go shopping and congratulate each other, in Gaza there is no source of joy, there are families who have been completely lost and no one can congratulate anyone, there is no joy, everything has become rubble, and at this time the shells and rockets are still raining down on us, leaving only death.

Nader, his wife Sally, their three kids, Laila, Nour and Ahmed, and his family are struggling to survive in Gaza during these hard times. Now, their hope relies on our kindness and empathy.

Sally reached out and asked me to share this campaign and support it, which is an honor to me since I'm able to help them through their hardships.

I hope it's not too insensitive from my part, but I wish to share their story: Nader, his wife, his kids, his parents, and siblings lived a stable life before the war. During the first attack, they survived but still suffered losses. His father is injured. Not fatal but sit injured, and they're facing difficulties in his medical journey. They lost their house, and it was turned into ashes. When the invasion started, he was forced to flee with his family.

What Nader and his family went through is horrific, and no one should go through this, but it is the reality that lots of families have to live with.
