datura (moth!bruno x butterfly!reader)

A/N: Back with the 2nd chapter! Previous chapter | Next chapter
Reader is gender neutral!
------
[Mid Spring]
The bags hanging from your body make your movements sluggish as you make your way to the entrance of your home. While crossing the threshold, one of your satchels' straps catch on the door and you almost end up on the floor. You remove the strap and shut the door behind you slightly annoyed.
Your current fatigue was due to spending most of the morning gathering with few breaks. There were just so many flowers to pick from, and you struggled to decide. So you ended up stopping at every different one that you came across.
Knowing yourself, you had expected this and prepared the day before, collecting any empty canisters left sitting around your house. You even found some that you had thought you lost.
How you even managed to get off the ground with all the nectar weighing you down was a mystery though.
After setting the heavy satchels on the dining table, you take one of the canisters hanging on your belt to replenish some of your energy. Lilac. You stand in place to give yourself a moment to catch your breath.
A giant part of you wants to taste all the nectar you collected, but you hold back. You needed to use some of it to trade for items and supplies, and a taste test could quickly turn into half the can.
And even though you wanted to lay down, you plan on making more trips before the day ends so you could have enough for yourself and trading.
Then there was the task of switching all the nectar to jars. There were also all the unlabeled jars from the last couple days too. You could just keep your favorite ones in the cans to save time...after you figured out which contained them.
Then you could finally have a day to rest.
You sigh and finish your drink. The image of a new sun hat keeps your resolve.
By the time you get back from your third trip, you can’t muster up the energy to organize everything right away and lay down instead. Just for a little bit. The sun was still out but you didn’t want to risk another trip when it was this late in the evening, so you had some spare time.
You don’t even realize that you're falling asleep--then you hear knocking. Groaning, you drag yourself off the soft cotton of your daybed to go answer the door.
When you open it, Bruno's on the other side and you wonder why he's here. You smile sleepily before noticing that the sun is long gone.
You look at the sky and rub the sleep out of your eyes. “There goes my lazy day...”
“Hmm? You look like you had a good rest. Sorry if I woke you up.”
“I didn’t even mean to fall asleep, so now I gotta organize everything tomorrow…"
You mumble to yourself trying to figure out how you could salvage this. Then you realize that what you collected for Bruno was still sitting in one of the canisters in your bags.
"Uh, are you okay with something random? I don't even remember what flowers I went to today...”
Bruno stares at your most likely disheveled appearance and shakes his head. “Don't worry about it. We can properly trade once you have your thoughts together."
However, he still holds out his canister towards you, but you can't help the slight guilt you feel.
"Sorry…"
“I wouldn't lie about something like that. It’s fine, really.”
“So you’d lie about something else?” You look at him, not expecting an answer to your rhetorical question, to see if he was actually okay with it. But you only find his usual untelling expression.
You take the canister from him, an unsure smile on your face. "I'm just going to believe you then. Thanks..."
When Bruno smiles at you in return, you immediately look away using opening the canister as an excuse. You almost drink from it but remember that it isn't yours.
"Wait l-let me go pour this into a jar real quick!"
You leave Bruno at the entrance, doing your best to slow your racing heart.
-----
“Hello!”
“Hi Mrs. Joestar! I brought you some Mum nectar and also a new drink I made."
"Oh, I’m good on the drink dear, but I'll definitely save it for later. I'm guessing you want to trade for fabrics?"
"Yea!"
"Good, cause I saved some of your favorite colors!” She goes to the back and quickly returns with them to show you.
You didn’t have any solid ideas on what you would make but some were starting to form now that you were here. You thank the elder bug and pull out the Mum filled jars from your satchel to place on the store's counters, setting the drink slightly apart from the rest of them.
"By the way, I heard you haven't been staying out late much anymore? Some of the neighbors were wondering if you were okay."
"Yea, I've been avoiding staying out too late now...”
"Well that's good, we don't want you getting hurt, but I find it hard to believe you would just stop so suddenly."
You fiddle with your satchel. "It’s because I met this moth and we started trading and stuff, so now I just try to go directly home so I dont leave him waiting."
"I see. Well, I'm glad you're making more friends dear!"
That makes you purse your lips. Were you and Bruno friends? You’d only known him for a little over a month now...How long did you need to know someone before you could consider them a friend?
"--____?"
"Ah...yea he’s really nice. He’s actually the first moth I’ve officially met."
“Hun.”
“Yea?”
“You know I’m a moth right?”
“Huh? But--what?”
She laughs. “What did you think I was?”
“I don't know, I thought you were like some sort of butterfly….Ah sorry!” Your face felt much warmer than before.
"It’s okay!” She's still laughing a bit though.
Mrs. Joestar’s partially transparent wings looked so similar to yours in shape and pattern. And with her being diurnal you had just assumed. You could definitely see the similarities between her and Bruno though.
“...Are all moth’s just super pretty?” The moment the question’s out of your mouth, you realize that it was better kept as a thought.
Mrs. Joestar places a hand on her cheek. “Oh, you're such a flirt!”
“Wait, I didn’t mean--!” You cover your face, unable to finish your sentence.
“I kid, I kid.” She smiles teasingly.
“You and Mr. Joseph are too much…”
-----
"I know you usually leave pretty quickly, but do you want to stay for a while--inside? I can make you something new to drink?”
Bruno seems to be thinking, and you prepare yourself for him to say no and leave after you both trade. But then he gives you a small smile. “You like mixing drinks?”
Averting your eyes, you ignore the weird flip within your chest cavity. “Yea, it’s something I learned from another bug some time ago. I'm still figuring it out though...” You move out of the way so he can walk in.
This was the first time that Bruno had actually come into your home. You had tried inviting him multiple times before so he didn't have to wait outside, but he would always politely decline.
You hope you didn’t leave anything weird laying around.
You softly close the entrance. “Ah you can sit over there, I’ll be right back.” Once Bruno sits down on your daybed, you quickly head into the space in your house where you kept all your food and beverages.
You decide to make something you had already done before with the Datura since you didn’t want any accidents right now.
You do your best to recall the steps that you should probably just write down at this point. And even though there were a few times where you thought you messed up, you end up with a result that’s not bad. You just hoped it was to Bruno’s taste.
After you pour the drink into two cups, you head back to Bruno. You plop down next to him and shove the drink a bit too close to his face.
He carefully grabs the cup and you watch him take a sip, forgetting your own drink for the moment.
After way too long for your liking he finally says something. “It’s not bad. I’d even go as far to say that it’s good.”
You roll your eyes at him but smile. “Well as long as you drink it all, then I consider that a win.”
You down your drink in one swoop and stare into your empty cup. "I think I might drink the rest of the pitcher by myself…"
"I think you might have a problem."
"What?"
"That sounds like a lot to drink at once."
"Please, I was like this before I was even a pupa."
Bruno raises a brow, skeptical. "How? I know wasps much bigger than you that drink less."
You immediately gawk at him. “You interact with wasps!?”
"Well one." The moth tilts his head slightly. "It’s a...unique relationship."
"...Bruno, what the fuck."
-----
Bruno didn't always come in to relax when visiting but when he did, you always made sure to try to give him something new to drink. They weren’t always hits though.
One time he shows up and you're surprised to see that he doesn’t have anything to trade.
"It's become habit now. The night wouldn't feel complete without visiting."
You keep your face from putting on the giant smile it wants to and instead settle for a regular one.
After inviting him in, you tell him to wait while you try to make one of your "concoctions". This time you decide not to do anything too crazy, just a simple sweet tea. You wish you could make it cooler. It would be much more refreshing in this weather.
The two of you sit together speaking idly. Your relationship was starting to get to the point where you both could sit in silence and it didn't feel awkward. Or maybe you just felt comfortable enough with Bruno to do that, and maybe he felt the same way.
"Hey."
“Yes?”
“What do you like to eat?” you ask.
“I don’t really eat that often but I like most fruits, except apples. Occasionally I’ll chew on something salty too if I can find it...Honey’s good too.”
That made sense. Some that drink nectar didn’t need solids to survive. It was strictly a pleasure activity in your case. “You don’t like apples?”
“I think they’re a little overrated to be honest.”
“Hmm, well I'm going to make sure to get you other fruits then cause I'm striving to be the best host ever.“
“Do you not invite people over?”
“My friend visits sometimes but they don't like my drinks! They only really eat grainy stuff without any sugar. The lack of flavour…” You grimace. “And I literally can’t make anything without sugar.”
“What are they?”
“A grasshopper.”
“Then of course they wouldn't want sugar.” A hint of amusement sounds in his voice.
"I know BUT I tried some of their grain stuff and it's not bad. It could be way better though. If you mix it with water and sugar--” You make an okay sign. "It’s at least 50 times better."
“No offense but that sounds disgusting.”
"You haven’t even tried it yet though!" The lack of sugarcoating caught you off guard.
"I’m going to make you take that back.”
Bruno shakes his head and smirks. "Good luck with that.”
You knew he was mostly messing with you but you were already set on proving him wrong. “Fine but I’m going to come up with something you really like one day.”
Maybe you were just excited to have someone you were somewhat close to to experience your relatively new hobby with, but you already felt like getting started.
"I look forward to it."

this thread is just me being a petty bitch so dont take it personally if u feel targeted.. so, lets rant :^) how can ppl look at him and be all like "mmm sexy man" dude..... the more i draw him, the more i realize how scary of a figure he is, he looks so calm and composed and kubo draw him with a slight blue (sad) feeling in his eyes... but when I draw him, its not the same, i dont draw him with the same emotion/feeling, its different...
Tumblr media
i know i portray him with a sharp and cold look, piercing eyes, its just so him he's a tall figure, beautiful, imposing, almost angelic, but that pretty image wasnt acquired with altruism nor amour propre (and ill say it, i still dont believe ju has a good self-esteem, or at the very least, not the one he deserves/should be looking upon), he had to be strict with himself when he became a ritter and always have been ever since...
when i say blue its these panels where they show the most, all of these shots are without shinigamis (1st w/ his aide, 2nd bazz, 3d alone) im not saying he's sad, but his heart is not all stone... he has feelings!!! but they are very subtle (hear some ppl say he’s a cold hearted bitch im ???? yall clearly never saw him when he’s not in battle/war)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
otherwise we get panels like these where we all know he isnt himself and omg he's scary, like genuinely Terrifying, and even without being under yhwach's power, he is just as scary esp when he interacts with shinigamis
we get to see his look when he’s under yhwach’s power, so i cant really call him jugram ngl, its like a mean side of him that is showing but never had in the first place.. an implanted personality.. and when he’s fighting shinigamis (except for one panel i know), that’s jugram, with a murderous intent and im not afraid to say that really is part of jugram, not a vengeful one, one with power greater than the enemy...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and well, we have Friend chapters where its just.... something else...... please look at this last panel and tell me how desperate he is, HES NOT HIMSELF AT ALL!#?%@ there is like, some kind of anguish in his expression that you can only see here in that single panel (where he calls bazz’ name) and when i say not himself, its not as “he’s ooc”, its as, not the usual composed jugram we’re used, its a desperate one, the one who wants to protect someone... for him to break that composure, then maybe it’s the most himself we get to see since he’s being completely transparent
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
its even worse when it comes to bazz’ death, the lack of panel showing jugram's face was done on PURPOSE, I KNOW IT!!!! and ppl just think "oh he killed his friend and walked away like nothing" DUDE, HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS?!??! WHEN WE HAVE THIS?!?!?? no expression was shown bc this is how ju handles it (and not the mention kubo PURPOSEFULLY refused to show us any of his facial expression... i fucking hate it, im not saying he’s crying, but he’s certainly hurt, the eyes are the most expressive facial trait, not surprising we didnt get to see them...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this the only way he could handle it, if he were to show regret, any kind of empathy, he would snap, if you thought killing bazz was easy thing for him, then you dont get his character
in other words, jugram is really beautiful, but ppl really need to look past it and how his cold look shouldnt make you think he's heartless
ok mentioned earlier about his he "gained" that cold look and while i dont believe he’s faking his composed self (aka, the “normal” jugram) he wouldnt have grown that way if he wasnt enrolled back then, look how innocent he is and how scary he looks after 3 years
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3 years is a LOT (esp for his young age), so im not surprised he changed so much, but what bothers me is, "is this what he wants to be?" i would say no, he never desired to become like that, but he just happened to be.. this is what fate gave him so he's not dishonest nor faking, but also younger him would be terrified to know he became like that... does the current ju wanna go back to what he used to be? no, although i believe cold nature isnt his true nature (as in, if the circumstances were different, he wouldnt be that cold) i dont think he wanna go back its just... now part of him, ofc he can be happy and have feelings, he just expresses them less than average... i think ju was the most himself during that 5yrs detaching himself from his abusive uncle and be somehow free, not happy, but just himself
speaking of changing look, jugram went through a personality change 3 times where 2 are linked with trauma, when we first meet him, he's a very unsociable kid who is just looking for love, any kind, deep down, this is caused by his uncle (trauma 1) and making him so... detached from others (unfortunately, this is his initial persona)
Tumblr media
this is ofc in order to protect himself (ppl who have DiD ppl mostly suffer from it bc of constant abuse and to protect themselves from trauma, their brain develop DiD ((im not suggesting jugram has DiD bc i dont have it so i cant diagnose it and i dont think there are enough proofs for it, but im not saying its impossible))) bc talking to other ppl could be a problem, so he doesnt befriend bazz at first, but bazz’ concern and the importance he gave to him touched him, deeply, when his uncle died, nothing was stopping him from being closer to bazz, to be more himself
unfortunately bazz didnt bring the best of him, but at least he wasnt restrained emotionally with him (his only inner struggle was being powerless) so he was more free, giving him (change 1) the shy/worried persona, this is the most jugo we ever got
trauma (the beginning of the 2th change): it's not ju joining yhwach but rather, their friendship being torn out, the only person he ever considered as a friend is revealed to have used him, a betrayer, and bazz didnt help himself either... ju just took the safest side
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(another trauma sign: to take the safest side) these two werent thinking twice to everything that happened, but what is done is done, ju's whole world shifted (being a leader and military stuff), leading to another persona change (change 2), he prob quickly gained that persona there (bc it was so harsh and quick, one day he want training with bazz the day after he’s yhwach advisor...)
Tumblr media
giving us the coldest ju imo (warmest to coldest in 3yrs... damn) i mean, for him to be so unbothered with bazz joining the army after 3 years is so damn cold from him esp when we are shown he never hated him and still cared despite everything...
then with time, he regain more freedom with his emotions and thoughts...which is the 3th change, our current ju, we dont have him joining the army, post-war nor post aushwalen ju, so we cant tell if it affected him somehow.. it would have been interesting..
Tumblr media
(since i cant word my thoughts for two cents, i hope this clear it up a bit lmao)
anyways, takes like blonde byakuya, jugo as bankai rukia or just, jugram being a cold hearted bitch who has no feelings or “he’s really attrative, id fuck him, but id never date him” well, 1 he’s gay for one person and 2 dont even talk to me yall really be missing on an amazing character ngl...

full name: viktor phillip samuels

b.o.d. - january 2nd, 1996
label(s): the black hole, the crepehanger, the impious, the opaque, the tempest, etc.
height: 6′1″
hometown: preaker, vermont
sexuality: pansexual uwu

favorite song: disorder, joy division / it’s getting faster, moving faster / now it’s getting out of hand / on the tenth floor, down the back stairs / it’s a no man’s land / lights are flashing, cars are crashing / getting frequent now / i’ve got the spirit, lose the feeling / let it out somehow
background.
born to mama and papa (preacher) samuels in preaker, vermont - fifteen minutes after his twin sister, tatiana samuels. years later, rosa samuels joined the gang.
was an awkward, quiet kid growing up, he didn’t interact well with others and preferred being left alone to dig up worms and draw on the walls of their childhood home. the only exception was his twin, really.
as he got older he grew out of this, but instead became like … sort of an asshole? maybe to compensate for years of childhood awkwardness. he’s the sort of person who will bite the hand that feeds him & developed into a full time nuisance by middle school, unlike tatiana who was much more subtle about her conniving manners.
always has been a fan of ‘darker’ materials. grim & creepy morbid shit. probably the biggest tim burton fan, ever since he was a kid … not a good look for a preacher’s son, but he never really felt ‘in’ with the rest of his family to begin with. classic black sheep syndrome.
drew disturbing pictures as a kid that probably prompted one or two or five phone calls home to assure everything was fine.
just really had a knack for art at a young age, from drawing to painting to playing with clay. it’s always been his thing and probably is the only thing he’s good at.
being twins with tatiana was hard. they were near opposite besides both being quite mean-spirited. tatiana handled being in public better, left a better image behind - but viktor had talent, more than she did. they loved each other deeply - y’know, those unbreakable twin bonds as cliche as it sounds - but found each other as competition for their parents’ attention. a rivalry for affection.
in high school is when viktor really started to act out. it started extreme, like losing his virginity in their church and vandalism around the neighborhoods. faked being possessed in the middle of sunday service & almost had an exorcism performed on him.
his only redeemable trait was like … just his sheer talent in the arts. was in a 3d art ap course and specialized in sculptures. he could pretty much create anything he wanted with enough dedication.
because he was the problem child, the one who deserved to be disciplined for all his antics, tatiana could sneak away and get away with whatever she wanted much easier. on the bright-side, for her, i guess.
not a very motivated person - wasn’t planning on going to college, much less going to yates but his parents literally wrote & sent his college application for him because they weren’t going to house a deadbeat but had too much heart to kick him out onto the streets. cool!
he’s actually pretty smart but he just doesn’t apply himself. has a minor in english because he didn’t care for an extra course-load, but he’s good at writing & analyzing literature. is going to use it to write and illustrate his own series of children books with a style similar to tim burton’s. not for the kids, but because he likes to leave a trail of terror in whatever he does.
has been experimenting with himself since high school but college is where he really had started to crack down on himself. was out as pansexual & nonbinary by his sophomore year of college just … not to his parents, who don’t really need to know.
if you asked him if he believed in twins having a psychic connection with each other - he’d tell you he wouldn’t know. it felt believable at times, but sometimes he had no idea what was going on inside of tatiana’as head. on the other hand - viktor had always felt oddly transparent to her, like she knew all of his moves before he did. the only person who could predict him accurately.
( tw death, grief, overdose / hospitalization beyond this point )
when tatiana disappeared, viktor knew something was up. it was a twist in his gut, pure instinct that something wasn’t right. and it wasn’t right - and when she was proclaimed missing, they couldn’t find her.
and when tatiana died - viktor knew. it felt wrong, something cut so severely in him he could pinpoint her death to the second. he didn’t know how, or why, but he knew it. knew it before anybody else had.
afterwards he went on a sort of bender. he’d begun to struggle with a mild drug addiction late senior year of high school / early college, but he was managing it up until this point.
his mental health had also sunk to an all-time low, when it’d never been great to begin with. (manic & depressive episodes. once fixated on a sculpting project for six months and then knocked it off the table and destroyed it as soon as he finished it for no apparent reason.)
tatiana’s body wasn’t found immediately, and when it was … viktor went off the rails. ended up overdosing & being hospitalized. spent six months in & out of psychiatric care after that.
came back to yates to finish his senior year because … for the reasons above, he hadn’t been able to complete it. just wants to get his credits and get out of here.
is still dealing with a lot of trauma & grief - causes him to spiral and be unpredictable in regards of his mental health. he stopped taking his medication, so. :/ some days are alright, other days are pretty bad.
personality & facts.
the human embodiment of a gremlin that was fed after midnight. a goblin, if you will. one of those cats with a narrow head and really big ears … that’s them!
a big horror & halloween enthusiast. loves the old campy horror movies & probably has an abundance of masks from different movies. dresses like a grimy millennial beetlejuice more than they should because they just … love those black & white vertical-striped pants.
can appreciate the ~urban legends~ at yates and likes to feed into the fear that surrounds them. is probably the cause of a few ‘anomalies’ and ‘paranormal sightings’ because they’re just … a jerk.
fashion alternates between e-boy (they would be tiktok famous if they were 17 & didn’t think that a majorly minor based app was weird.), millennial beetlejuice, and goth in a crop top & sweatpants. big fan of crop tops and a big fan of sweatpants.
they can be really fucking mean? petty, aggressive, a major instigator. will literally spit in your face for little to no reason, you could just look at them the wrong way. the kind of person who will stick their gum into someone else’s hair. other than that? they’re like … sort of okay. they’re not always mean, just a dick about 90% of the time lmao
like okay yeah they’ll call someone a stinky bitch for no reason except they feel like it and believes it. it’s fine, they’re fine, we’re fine.
despite the fact that they’re probably getting into a fight whenever, considers themself to be a lover and not a fighter but that’a primarily because they fuck a lot. uses it as a coping mechanism, like they’re this big fancy carnival show that’s like ‘come one, come all! fuck the dead girl’s twin brother!’ and it’s … a lot. might have a problem with hypsersexuality but they’re not fully aware of it.
the preacher’s whore son, basically :)
pansexual & nonbinary, switches between he & they pronouns often and without a pattern, but they have such a fragile grip on their identity that you could call them ‘dog-faced bitch’ and they’d turn around like. sup.
vastly impulsive … like i said, they destroy their own creations for the fun of it. spends all their money on useless shit, will cheat on someone because they feel like it & likes the thrill, screams into the night sky frequently like a cat in heat.
will also spend months creating useless shit for no reason too. spent six of them sculpting a hollowed out tree the size of them & then took a sledgehammer to it.
they’re very super dramatic. would play the organ at church when nobody was looking after them and service was about to start. would just churn out these super haunting, creepy melodies like they were phantom of the opera. would do the same exact thing at home on their keyboard with the pipe organ setting whenever they got grounded until their parents took it away hbdsjfngkh
will absolutely not talk about their ‘time away’ because it’s not anyone’s business, not even their own younger sister. still refuses to talk about tatiana’s death, or their mental health, or their addiction (fallen back into it but it hasn’t gotten severe … yet :/), or anything involving their own emotions.
will just change the topic abruptly, no warning. asks about the jonas brothers instead and they fucking hate the jonas brothers.
that being said they’re absolutely not over tatiana’s death & it’s to the point of obsession over it. like there’s some kind of secret that needs to be uncovered, even though there just. isn’t. tatiana was their rock and they were pretty much dependent on her. kept them grounded. could control them when nobody else could, got into their head easier than others. it’s sort of like rosa lost two siblings that day because viktor hasn’t been the same since.
emotionally unavailable while also crying twice a day. cries during their brawls but still wins. is stony-faced when they tell you they cheated on you with your much hotter best friend.
will tell you straight up what they want from you, no bullshit & no beating around the bush. just blunt. if they want to fuck, nothing else, then that’s it. if they feel deviation or developing feelings then they’ll ghost in less than a second. is awful like that but feels no shame.
but also emotional as shit and it’s confusing. will cry on a whim and then flip you off if you try to console them or ask them what’s up. will bite you.
they go to therapy but they just fuck around and wastes their therapists’ time … also is fucking their therapist, but that’s neither here nor there. so they’re not really getting the help they need.
likes to be intimidating but not … with their body or anything because they’re a twig but uses their love & knowledge of horror and creepy shit to their advantage. has an abundance of fake blood. has channeled the energy of jack nicholson and used it on tatiana’s boyfriends before (also is a big fan of sfx makeup & has dabbled in it)
probably chases kids around with a chainsaw without the chain on halloween every year.
generally never doing good, both mental health wise & morally. would probably steal candy from a baby for funsies.
i don’t know if there’s a good to them somewhere deep down, but they don’t see any issues with themself either. nothing really breaks through to them anymore because the only person who ever made them stop and think about their actions was tatiana, and well, y’know. :/
an introverted reclusive type who doesn’t like most people or going out, but does so anyway if it means a quick high & a cheap thrill.
pretty observant and likes to analyze people even though they’re often like … partially wrong. judgmental because they like to make people feel bad, not because they’re a righteous mighty person. because they’re not. so like, a hypocrite!
wanted connections.

Free Vst Effects Pack
I guess you would have to agree with me that the best way to polish your vocal recording or a vocal sample is to sprinkle some effects, just like the way you would sprinkle a reasonable amount of ingredients on your food. If done right, it sounds delicious right, yum yum 😉
Improve your projects with quality free vst instruments & effects for download. Vst presets / patches and free synth vst plugins available for download. Vst4you: Big Source Of Free Vst's Loops And More Good Stuff To Start Create Music. 2Packs From last 2 successful fx alien loops releases, we are giving youopportunity to buy 2 packs.
Our list of the 55 best free VST plugins encompasses tons of categories, namely: best Guitar VSTs, best Synth VSTs, best VST plugins for vocals, bass VSTs best drum VSTs and a horde of slick effects – that one can download for FREE!
IZotope Ozone Imager. The Ozone Imager is an essential free VST plugin for trap beats. As the name suggests, this is an imaging tool you use to control your track's stereo width. To make a professional sounding track, you must control your stereo width. Commonly, your low frequencies are narrow, in mono, while you typically place your higher frequencies wide.
Vocal effects are no exception to the ingredient perspective, you need to add a reasonable amount of effects to make them sound lively, and enjoyable to the listeners.
Best Free Drum VST My mother always told me “march to the beat of your own drum”, but I guess she was wrong, because I found a bunch of really good free drum vsts. Amongst them, is the T.REX 606, a classic sound that could have easily cost hundreds of dollars, but for some reason is free. Best Free Synth VST Plugins Dexed by Digital Sub Urban Dexed is a Free multi platform and multi format frequency modulation Synth which is based on, or closely modeled to, the Yamaha DX7. You can download it here.
Don’t get me wrong, I ain’t saying you should stack effects upon effects on your vocal samples, too much of everything is bad. That said, let us look at the best free awesome VST effects plugin in the music production scene.
Let’s ride on…
Page Contents
5.) g200kg – KeroVee
10.) MGF – TimeWarp
1.) AegeanMusic – PitchProof
If you haven’t heard of PitchProof, then, you are definitely missing out, this is like the secret tool I use on Vocals but it wasn’t even developed for Vocal, it was actually designed to work on monophonic signals such as guitar solos, but I’ll give you a tip on how I have been using it:
You don’t want to apply it in realtime, what you should do instead is to first select the key of the harmony, then you turn the Blend knob all the way to the right; wet e.g:
Export the vocal result, add whatever effects plugins you gat on your toolbox (vocal, flangers, etc) to spice up the pitched vocal, and then stack it on top of the original vocal. Boom, you have something unique!
Note: You don’t have to always push it all through the wet side as this might cause artifacts, just experiment and stick with what works for you.
You can even export more vocal, and maybe this time, you can try by reducing the detune knob, anyways, experiment until you get your preferred test.
That said, let’s look at some of the features of PitchProof:
The Blend control knob would let you adjust the level of pitch shift, while the Pitch drop-down menu lets you select pitches like +7 or -7, or harmonies which are intelligent pitch-shift effects.
Moreover, there are also some options at the bottom of the PitchProof plugin which give you the option to switch between stereo and mono; mono could save your CPU, while the stereo option could cause a resource hog if used on multiple inserts.
Transient Fix can be switch on or off to spice things up a little!
Possible Harmony Options:HarmonyInfo2ndDissonant harmonies3rdThe Typical Major/minor Chord Harmony4thThe same as the +5 semitones setting except a few notes are flat.5thThe Same as The +7 Semitones Setting Except the Last Note of The Major Scale Is Flat Making It “diminished”.6thA nice-sounding alternative to typical harmony intervals.7thDissonant 7th Chord Sounds.

The Pres Compressor knob helps in bringing out the clarity of a vocal, so, by turning up the gain of the Pres Comp brings out the presence in the vocal along with giving it a smooth compression. On the other hand, the Low cut, Tighten, and the Bass knob compliment the Pres Comp in taking out muddy frequencies without the vocal sounding too thin.
I also love playing with the Crispy knob as it sprinkles some sparkles to the audio signal.
Features:
Help vocals to stand out in a mix by giving them amazing presence, clarity, and compression. Can easily work on any other content.
Acts like are preamp giving the signal a strong boost.

5.) g200kg – KeroVee
This is a pitch correction VST plugin tool and has strengthened to support natural pitch correction.
This tool is handy and can perform different and various types of voice effects, for example, a conversion of the male voice to a female voice and vice versa.
KeroVee comes bundled with useful parameters for the effectiveness of the auto-tuning process, Parameter includes:
Scale Button: This is for specifying the scale you want to tune. Setting a wrong scale would result in an awful result, in a simple sentence, Know your scale before you go into this one
TuneSpeed: This will allow you to set the speed of correcting the pitch.
Nuance: This is one of the best and lovely parameters, you can use this to set a fine vibrato of the original sound, use this to create all sorts of weird effects.
Amount: Set to zero (0) if you want no correction, setting to 100 will result in full correction of the pitch
and many more parameters like Transpose option, master volume, etc.
System Requirements
A compatible host program that supports the VST formats
6.) Martin Eastwood – Duet
Have you heard those natural double effects in some tracks! Do you wonder how those are created? I guess yes 😉
Let me introduce to you – Duet, a double-tracking effect designed to enhance your audio sample be it vocal or even instruments, Duet is well capable of sparkling them up. The way Duet work is by pitch-shifting both the left and right inputs individually using a novel synchronous overlap and add technique, allowing pitch to be manipulated in real-time while still maintaining the time duration of the audio.
One thing I love about Duet is the way it can accurately create the illusion of multi-voices and adds varied texture to the mix. Experiment with Duet to see how it works.

8.) Distorque – Azurite
Azurite is a vocal effect by Distorque which is built for multi-voice chorus with a focus on rich sounds and versatile controls.
According To Distorque:
My goal in designing it was to make as flexible a chorus as possible without losing great tones and ease of use. The result is an effect that will be handy for producers, guitarists, and glitch lovers alike.
One of the great features of this plugin is the way you can create multiple simultaneous voices. Each of these voices can be further customized with their own delay line that is modulated by a separate LFO. Adding multiple voices leads to a thicker, smoother, and less wobbly tone. It also makes vivid stereo spreading possible with a mono signal.
The voice control helps you to choose how many voices you want for the chorus, e.g one, two, four, or eight.
Features:
Stereo or mono operation.
Colour control emulates vintage analog choruses.
2 band EQ.
LFO tempo sync.
Feedback control allows for flanger sounds.

Fast modulation settings possible and encouraged
That is it, Good luck and have fun with music!
Useful Related posts:
Native Instruments MOD PACK takes three classic modulation effects – chorus, flanger and phaser – and adds features never seen before. Each offers exciting new creative possibilities as well as stunningly convincing vintage-style results, making MOD PACK a must-have upgrade from the rest of modulation effects.
Best Free Vst Plugins
Native Instruments Choral: Drawing sonic inspiration from some of the most iconic chorus effects from the past 40 years – including iconic stands and unison synth effects. Add width, movement, sparkle and shimmer to any signal, or take advantage of the new Scatter feedback mode. This avoids unpleasant metallic sounds. Instead, a completely new effect similar to reverb is created. The classic effects contained a small number of settings – On, Off and Type are usually the only controls. Our plugin offers many customizable options. The number of voices can be set gradually from one to three, the sync speed can be manually changed, as well as the modulation speed, volume, mix, delay time, stereo width and feedback.
Free Vst Instrument Pack
Native Instruments Flair: Flips the classic head flanger effect. FLAIR adds a revolutionary new Voices mode that uses multiple delay lines to create custom harmonic flanger layers and resonances. It even has 24 chord settings, offering different chords and note intervals. In addition to revolutionary features, FLAIR is capable of rich tape saturation and pedal flanger, offering all the parameters you’d normally expect, such as tempo-synchronized pitch modulation.
Free Vst Effects Pack
Native Instruments Phasis: Offers endless phasing sounds – adding movement, soul, and creative magic to any signal. PHASIS takes inspiration from the classic phaser but adds powerful new features. For example, the Spread control changes the step spacing of a vocal style effect passage. Ultra Power Mode brings modulation to ultra-high speeds, creating unique FM-esque tones. The plugin adjusts the peak density and Q-factor of the slices in the spectrum and whether it is set to one value, applied in real time or with automation, or reversed with the “Invert” button, “Spread” provides a new effect for both the phasing process and vowel sounds of vocals. With its powerful stereo spread function, advanced sync options and all the controls, what you’d expect from a professional phaser, PHASIS is already a formidable modulation device, but the ULTRA parameter takes the effect to a new area of application. ULTRA boosts the maximum modulation rate from 8.37 kHz to an incredible 477.3 kHz, which generates unusual FM-style effects never heard before and is able to turn even white noise into immersive sound.

Various Bonus Stuff: 1) There’s a really neat warriors rp group on deviantart called The Lunar Trials. I got accepted as a medicine cat! :O Here’s my new cinnamon roll. Her suffix refers to her incredible optimism and innocence. Unfortunately, this is the only image on this post that didn’t get compression suffering since this is the only one with transparency (the others are screenshots).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) Cynthia is about to be level 5! Since she’s a paladin, she now has access to 2nd level spell slots. This includes Find Steed, which is amazing because my DM let me have a Giant Lizard as my steed. This thing is a large, talking, celestial lizard. I took some inspiration from axolotls and dragons in general (the axolotl idea came from @caffeinatedwriters). I love this dumb boi. I decided to name him Nur (pronounced NOOR, means “light” in Arabic).  Also Cynthia now has someone to cuddle with. She deserves it.
Tumblr media
3) We kidnapped a farmer who helped a group of bandits, really just because we couldn’t trust him being left alone. I mean, he could have warned the bandits that we were coming for them sooo Poth kept a good eye on the dude and terrified him. We eventually let him go, but Cynthia warned the guy that if he didn’t change for the better, Cynthia would kill him.
Tumblr media
4) Oh yeah, the bandits kidnapped a member of another adventuring party, so this whole thing was more of a rescue mission. Of course, the search for the base took about 14-15 hours, and everyone except Wall had an extra point of exhaustion by the time we actually found it. Cynthia kind of permanently has a point of exhaustion due to the Plague, so she had two. The captain, despite two points of exhaustion, was like “We need to do a full assault if we want to save her.” And luckily for everyone involved, her crew persuaded her to let everyone rest.
Tumblr media
5) WELL, BEFORE SESSION 10, Paddy had kept a good streak of being the only one who had not been downed yet. This streak was broken in Session 10, when literally all three of them got downed in a arena fight against an Ettin. Notably, since then, Paddy has caught up to Roth in the number of times he got downed (2, probably going to be 3 in session 13 since he has only 3 HP left).  So to invert it, I decided to shove this idea into the AAF AU (aka the Pathia AU) where these three and Poth get into a nasty fight. All healing/spell slots get burned up and all Cynthia can do when Paddy finally goes down is a medicine check. :3c ---
Anyway, thank you for reading this post! Basic Fashion Sketches
Tumblr media
These schools often require students to have completed basic art and design courses before entering a program. Applicants usually must submit sketches and other examples of their artistic ability. Other Experience. Fashion designers often gain experience in the fashion industry through internships or by working as an assistant designer. Hi everyone,This tutorial video is about how to draw a fashion figure for beginners(10 head fashion croquis) step by step. This is the basic fashion sketches. You’ll learn how to sketch a basic fashion runway figure and utilize various marker techniques to render multiple patterns like florals, gingham and leopard + textures like shine, denim, and fur. We’ll go over how to illustrate fashion details like faces, hair and difficult-to-draw hands and feet. First episode of the series to learn how to draw fashion. Follow my channel to be notified when further videos are posted!Today’s tips: 1.
Of all the questions and advice seeking that I receive from new and emerging fashion brands, the topic that is most often addressed is production. From “How do I work with a manufacturer?” to “My samples are horrible! What went wrong?!”, the trials and tribulations are aplenty.
This is because production is one of the most challenging parts of launching a fashion brand. Finding the right factory for your collection and then communicating properly with the people who are making your clothing is not something you can just wing. Planning and preparation are really important.
So when a designer asks me about where to even start in the whole manufacturing process, I always say two things:
Go through your pre-production checklist.
Create a tech pack.
Once you know you’re ready to work with a factory, have researched which factories makes sense for your brand, and have started to have a dialogue, Oone thing you need to have ready to present to your factory is your tech pack.
Capture One 20 on my Late 2018 mac Mini with internal SSD is horribly slow. It took over an hour to import and generate previews for about 7000 medium sized JPG files. And I noticed that during all that, it was using about 30% of one of the 6 CPU physical cores, 10% to 20% of the other 5 physical cores, and 0% of the six hyperthreaded cores. Capture one 20 slow start.
Tech packs are those things we’re all pretty sure we need to give to our factories but aren’t quite sure what they entail.
You don’t want to wing it with this one. The wrong info in your tech pack could mean the wrong finished sample. That means that tech packs are an incredibly important fashion business tool when you’re communicating your designs and specifications to your sample maker and factory.
The more detail you can give them, the less room for mistakes. The clearer you make your requests, the less likely there will be misinterpretations. The more you have in writing, the less likely you’ll be financially responsible for fixes.
Cover Page
The Cover Page houses the basic front and back view of the style. These sketches should have a white or transparent fill, and not contain color or print. The sketches can be computer generated, hand drawn, or photographs. An important concept to be mindful of is to make sure that the image is proportional and clean, meaning they should not be stylized.
Inspiration Page
The Inspiration Page houses any image(s) which helped create the original style. If the factory is to be the source of the pattern, the image(s) may help the factory create the pattern and reach the designer’s desired aesthetic. Inspiration images may contain whole garments or detail pictures, such as close up photos of a pocket or collar. An explanation of why the inspiration image is important may also be needed so the correct aspect of the image is conveyed in the style.
Callouts Page
The Callouts Page is used to articulate the type of construction and design details that should be used when constructing the garment. Be sure to use arrows to clearly mark what type of construction is to be used where. Also be sure that the factory understands any special phrases or acronyms that may be used to abbreviate words.
Print-Fabric Placement Page
The Print-Fabric Placement Page is used to indicate where you would like print and/or fabric. The front and back sketch of the style is colored in relation to a color key at the bottom of the page. This color key makes it very easy to distinguish the desired placement for each type of fabric. Prints could also be used to convey the placement of fabrics; such as one fabric being dots, and one fabric being stripes. Just make sure to clearly label the key.
Colorway Page
The Colorway Page identifies the colors which are to be used in the design. The current tab format includes several areas to input color information, and grids can be easily copied and pasted to create more information areas. Each color area contains sections for the color name, color number, and color swatch. The color number may be the pantone color number or an original number. If any other information is needed, simply edit the format so there are more columns in each information area.
This page may also hold print colorways if the design is not going to be one solid color. A true to size print out with color key may also/or instead be needed to identify each color in the print.
Bill of Materials Page
The Bill of Materials Page; also known as the BOM, is comprised of all materials used in constructing the garment. There are five main sections contained in this tab, which are as follows: Fabrics, Trims, Labels, and Packaging.
In each section there are five types of information that can be identified. This information includes Placment (where the material will be used or in what position it will be sewn into the garment), Comments (any extra means that are necessary to understanding the use of the material), Material (the fiber content, identification number, or substance the material is made of), Supplier (the provider of the goods), Color Number ( the item color to be used).
Fold Page
First of all I would like to say I am happy user of Deezer, nice interface and alot of songs available, currently making several playlist. But i have several problems regarding Deezer with communicating to the Samsung Multiroom app, the last update of Samsung Multiroom was around 4 weeks ago and since then it goes from bad to worse. Samsung multiroom for windows 10. Hi, I can't login to deezer via Samsung multiroom. It keeps advising the ID or password is wrong. I've re-entered multiple times, even changed the password a couple of times, logged in and out of deezer directly using the same credentials (to prove it is correct). Have reset the multiroom. I've been told by Tech Support today (I had to contact them as they don't call me) that Deezer is no longer supported via the Multiroom App. This appears to be Samsung's solution to mine and other users problems with accessing Deezer via the App. They haven't chosen to tell any of us and Deezer still appears within the choice of Apps.
The Fold Page expresses how the garment should be folded and packed. This pack will then be shipped to the desired destination. This page should contain a series of sketches showing the step by step process of folding and packing a shirt. Each sketch has a description for easy directional reference. If sketches cannot be created, a series of step by step photos with explanations would be an acceptable alternative. A description without any supporting images can also be used, however the explanations need to be very clear and easy to follow.
Label Placement Page
The Label Placement Page explains the type of label that is to be used in the product, and where it should be placed. Remember, the material the labels are made of can be found in the BOM.
Proto Specs Page
The Proto Specs Page indicates the measurements to which the pattern and first fit sample should be developed to. The chart contains five columns of information.
The Point of Measure (POM) indicates how each part of the style needs to be measured to ensure the garment or handbag is the correct size and fits correctly.
The Description expresses how and what needs to be measured in correlation to the POM code. It should be specific enough to relay what and how the point should be measured. The acronym for ‘high point of shoulder’ (HPS) will be seen often. Most vertical measurements will be measured from HPS, and should be indicated in the description.
The Requested indicates the actual measurements that the garment or handbag should be developed from. If there is uncertainty of what a measurement should be, the column may be left blank and a note made for the factory to help determine the necessary measurement. The spec can then be measured and filled in at the first fit.
The Tolerance (+/-) indicates the most a measurement is allowed to be over or under the requested measurement. This number is very important during production, so that the specs of the product are in the approved range of measurements.
The Comments is for adding important notes.
1st Fit Specs Page
The 1st Fit Specs Page holds all spec information about the first fit sample of development. It includes all five columns of information in the proto specs an adds these additional columns:
The Actual column is the area in which the measurements of the fit sample are inputted to help visually compare them to what specs were requested.
The Revised column is the area to input the measurements that the next sample or production should meet.
2nd Fit Specs
The 2nd Fit Specs Page is identical to the 1st fit specs page, except in this page the Requested column is pulled.
1st Fit Comments Page
The 1st Fit Comments Page includes all corrections that need to be made to the 1st fit sample. The fit and construction of the product should be reviewed and commented on. All tabs that took part in the development and creation of the first fit sample should be reviewed as well, to make sure all aspects of the product were followed correctly.
2nd Fit Comments Page
The 2nd Fit Comments Page is exactly the same as the 1st Fit Comments page, noting any errors in fit and construction.
Graded Specs Page
The Graded Specs Page holds the measurements for all sizes that will be put through production.
There’s a lot that goes into an effective Tech Pack. We’ve created a clear, detailed template to make things easy for you. Plug in your info, save, and print. Get it now!
Fashion designers create original clothing, accessories, and footwear. They sketch designs, select fabrics and patterns, and give instructions on how to make the products they design.
Duties
Fashion designers typically do the following:
Study fashion trends and anticipate designs that will appeal to consumers
Decide on a theme for a collection
Use computer-aided design (CAD) programs to create designs
Visit manufacturers or trade shows to get samples of fabric
Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or a style for each garment or accessory
Work with other designers or team members to create prototype designs
Present design ideas to creative directors or showcase their ideas in fashion or trade shows
Market designs to clothing retailers or to consumers
Oversee the final production of their designs
Larger apparel companies typically employ a team of designers headed by a creative director. Some fashion designers specialize in clothing, footwear, or accessory design; others create designs in all three fashion categories.
For some fashion designers, the first step in creating a new design is researching current fashion and making predictions about future trends, such as by reading reports published by fashion industry trade groups. Other fashion designers create collections using a variety of inspirations, including art media, their surroundings, or cultures they have experienced and places they have visited.
Fashion Design Sketches
After they have an initial idea, fashion designers try out various fabrics and produce a prototype, often with less expensive material than will be used in the final product. They work with models to see how the design will look and adjust the designs as needed.
Although most designers first sketch their designs by hand, many now also sketch their ideas digitally with computer-aided design (CAD) programs. CAD allows designers to see their work on virtual models. They can try different colors, designs, and shapes while making adjustments more easily than they can when working with real fabric on real people.
How To Draw Basic Fashion Sketches
Designers produce samples with the actual materials that will be used in manufacturing. Samples that get good responses from fashion editors or trade and fashion shows are then manufactured and sold to consumers.
Basic Fashion Drawings
The design process may vary by specialty, but it generally takes 6 months, from initial design concept to final production, to release either the spring or fall collection. In addition to releasing designs during the spring and fall, some companies release new designs every month.
The Internet and e-commerce allow fashion designers to offer their products outside of traditional brick-and-mortar stores. These designers ship directly to the consumer, without having to invest in a physical shop to showcase their product lines of collections.
The following are examples of types of fashion designers:
Accessory designers design and produce items such as handbags, suitcases, belts, scarves, hats, hosiery, and eyewear.
Costume designers design costumes for the performing arts and for motion picture and television productions. They research the styles worn during the period in which the performance is set, or they work with directors to select and create appropriate attire. They also must stay within the production’s costume budget.
Fashion Sketches Art
Clothing designers create and help produce men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel, including casual wear, suits, sportswear, evening wear, outerwear, maternity clothing, and intimate apparel.
Basic Fashion Sketch Design Model Stick
Footwear designers create and help produce different styles of shoes and boots. As new materials, such as lightweight synthetic materials used in shoe soles, become available, footwear designers produce new designs that combine comfort, form, and function.

Ao Jumonji’s Roman, pt.1
Ah! I see, you can hear me, thank you~ Well then, here goes the synopsis along with some commentary on my part.
1. Asa to Yoru It's a rather short excerpt that begins with the words "You wake up under a sky, torn apart into two". Yes, it's "you"-prospective. That's the line that lured me into the text once I opened it, actually. Anyway, you wake up under a torn sky, in which one part is the morning, while the other part is the night full of stars. You walk, and walk, and walk, but nothing ever changes, except that you get hell tired. You're all alone and at some point you're starting to wonder if you've got a body at all. Apparently you do (otherwise how would it have been possible to walk?). But when you try to check it, you only see a cloud of black dust (you're not sure if it's fine like that). Finally you're exhausted and sit down, when suddenly there appears a man with something round and transparent on his eye, a stick and a hat (GEE, I WONDER who that might be!), who has two girls with him. The man introduces himself as M (wtf?..), but when you go all wtf is wrong with this name, he gives you a free choice: Marcel, Martin, Matias, Michael, Michel or even Christophe. Anyway, he asks you weird questions making you wonder what are YOU. Finally he gives you the dolls, and then you suddenly realize you're not you, but me. I mean, from there on the prospective slowly starts to change, and it's not the 2nd person anymore, but the 1st. (I'll be calling the character Hiver from now on). Oh, and yes, Hiver gets the normal human-like shape as the dolls touch him. You know, from the album jacket we all know. M makes a weird Jimang-prophecy and disappears, while Hiver is still all wtf is going on. He slowly realizes he's neither dead nor born, he's super afraid and tries to run away, but it doesn't really help. Quoting: "I'm not alive, hence I cannot die. How weird it is that I, the one never to have been born, would need something. I suppose that's funny even. I would've laughed if that wasn't about myself <...> So what is it that I need, that I'm looking for? Something I miss painfully? What am I missing so that I ended up here and probably got locked? What is it? Is this the inevitability? Or maybe the circumstances? Or maybe reasons? I guess it's all and none of those. Those are but shatters. Neither reasons, nor circumstances, nor the inevitability are quite the thing I'm looking for. Even all of them combined aren't enough. I want to open the gates and get out of here. But I need the key for that. "Roman". The key. That is the key to the gates. "If there's a roman that leads to my birth, I want to find it"." So, being scared of becoming black dust again, he still smiles and sends Hortense and Violette away to find him a roman. And stays alone between morning and night... (end of chapter 1, which was actually no more than a few pages. what follows is...) A piece of Noël nr.1 So, it all begins with a children's playing yard. There are numerous places to play on that one, but most of them are occupied by other children. The least popular on the playground are... ah... these things (sorry for the inconvenience once again, tumblr won’t post the image =\)
A boy (or should I say THE boy?) is sitting on one of those. At some point he tried to go to the slides, but the boys that are playing there won't let him into their circle. After some time the boy starts to sing because he's so sad, and two of the boys come closer - just to drive him away from that spring-thing too D= The only place left for the boy is under the lonely tree (at that point he thinks - “Who was that cruel person who cut down all the trees except this one? Had I been the tree, I’d rather be felled with the others”). He sits there and keeps singing. Sounds are flowing into his ears and get transformed in his head. He sings along with the world, so to say. At evening, when all the children are gone already, he suddenly hears sharp and scary steps. That's his granny. He runs towards her, while she turns around and walks away without even waiting for him. [oh boy, I'm missing so many details...] One more point: feeling that his granny is somewhat irritated, Noël apologizes, but she doesn't like that. So the chapter ends as follows. A car with blinding lights rides by, and the grand-mother has to pull Noël so that he doesn't get hit. "As soon as the car rushed by, granny let his hand off and muttered something about being tired. He would want to apologize now. But that would only make her feel more irritated, wouldn't it?.." 2. Hiiro no Fuusha It all starts with a rather peaceful morning. A boy (his name is Gilles [like the French name]) wakes up in a small barn where he lives together with the house's animals. Basically, he's not quite at home in this house. His parents are dead, and the family that lives in this house, are his very distant relatives. So, he's basically a small (13 years old) male Cinderella (or so he thinks), but he's in love with the daughter from this house, a girl of his age with the name Clarice. It seems like this is mutual, although Gilles is afraid to even think about it. He's an orphan after all, his future is just so unclear. The daughter isn't the only child in the family. She also has an elder brother, Maxim, and a younger brother, Hector. There's a tension between Maxim and Gilles, because Maxim would sometimes come to Gilles's place at evening and say nasty things (and even kicks him one day). Gilles doesn't understand why, but oh well. He's oh so hated by everyone (except Clarice, who's like a saint to him). So, one day they were harvesting wheat, and Clarice actually more or less confessed to him: "Listen" "Hm?" "Gilles?" "What is it, Clarice?" "I like you so very much. Let's get married?" "Eh?" "Let's get married some day? Are you against it?" "No, I'm not!" "And it will be so much fun every day!" But Gilles thinks that's impossible and they can never marry because he's a poor orphan. He thinks that Clarice is being naive (although she strongly hints that she understands everything very well). Yet he's happy that at least he could dream a bit about it. [by this point you might start to wonder just how will it come to that Gilles will leave her behind]. Anyway, in the evening he feels completely down and is sure that his hopes are never to come true and even wanders away from home. He's walking around and then suddenly realizes he's in the forest. There he sees a (domestic) pig that was also wandering around instead of going home. He wants to help/force it out of the forest, when suddenly Maxim appears and warns Gilles that pigs are dangerous and can harm people. We suddenly get to know that Maxim's actually very much like a tsundere ='D I mean, they used to be like brothers, but then as they became older, it got impossible to always have Gilles around (you may imagine how bothersome children may get sometimes, even if you love them), so their relationship started to crumble. Gilles thought Maxim hated him, when in fact Maxim was trying to set things right again, but since Gilles was an angsting kid, it wasn't all that easy. But finally they have a proper talk in the forest and are heading home, Gilles full of hopes, when suddenly they see a glimpse of fire... Yup, that very day knights attack the village. The family tries to escape to the church as they believe it's safe there, but it's actually not. A red-haired knight-commander is already there with his knights. In the upcoming turmoil pretty much all of the family get slaughtered, except Gilles and Clarice that managed to sneak away. Clarice is shocked and almost paralized, while Gilles thinks about how to save their asses. It all feels so horrible that he for a moment he gets sure that he must be in hell, but then he realizes that since Clarice is here, this cannot be hell, no matter what. So, he saw that the knights had come from the forest to the west from the village and thinks that there should be none left there. He leads Clarice there, and when they're tired, they hide themselves in a bush. They seem to have forgotten what had happened, so they actually talk about how they care for each other and almost kiss. Unfortunately, there are also other villagers hiding in the forest, and the knights eventually come back there, too. After hearing screams, the two remember that everything's very very bad and try to keep silence. Then they hear a weak voice. Maxim's voice, actually. Gilles was about to get away from the bush, but then the person who seemingly had the voice resembling Maxim's (that’s Gilles trying to reject reality) got murdered. Frightened, Gilles thinks that they need to get out of there asap and as far as possible, too. But unfortunately right after they start to flee... Clarice's hand gets grabbed. Gilles struggles to snatch her away, but the soldier that caught her punches the poor boy in the stomach and he falls. He also happened to stand on the edge of a hollow, so he stumbles down, down there, watching at how Clarice "flies up" from him. He fell very badly and was in so much pain he couldn't move a muscle (or so it feels), but he was conscious nevertheless. So he heard the soldier and his fellows rape Clarice up there. Gilles was hoping someone would finally climb down and kill him already, but unfortunately right when one of the soldiers was satisfied and was about to follow the boy he had seen, Clarice finally raises her voice, she laughs and yells that all of them are cursed and will burn in hell. The soldiers, distracted and annoyed by that, kill her and forget about Gilles. He was still lying at the bottom of the hollow, waiting for death to come, when it gets bright again, and a new morning came to the world where Clarice was gone. Where he let Clarice die. Where he killed Clarice. After that we get a time-skip. Outskirts of a town. A really stinky tavern. There appears a young man in a dirty cloak. He sits at a table next to a drunk man, presumably an ex-soldier. The two speak. The ex-soldier sees that despites his looks the young man seems to have quite some money. Quoting: "So what the heck are you doing here?" "I just came to drink some water" "Bullshit" <...> "I've known a person of the same name as yours" "Wha?" "Maxim" "Why the heck you know my name?" "I just guessed" "Ya think I'm gonna believe this?" "Who knows <...> I need to talk to you, Maxim." Gilles promises to pay if Maxim talks to him outside of the tavern. They go. Maxim feels a bit nervous because this Gilles (yes, that's him, and he's a bit insane as one can feel through the dialogue) walks way too smoothly and silently, like a cat. Quoting again: "So, what'd you wanna ask? <...> It's cold, I don't wanna talk for too long" "That's right, winter is coming... My first winter back then was very cold too, huh..." "Back then?" "That's none of your business, Maxim. Never mind. Tell about yourself". They talk a bit, and soon enough Gilles confirmed that this Maxim was one of the soldiers that had attacked the village under the command of Damien Laurant. Gilles hadn't known that name, and he bursts into laughter and was about to go his way. But Maxim reminded him that Gilles had promised to pay, and so (quoting again) ""Ah, that's right" Gilles turned around and somewhat shrank. The next instant he was attacking, and not just like that! What swiftness! Gilles drew his sword so much faster than he did! The blade pierced through Maxim's belly and sticked out from his back. <...> He twisted his wrists, turning the sword, and then again, and again. "Finally I've learned it. Damien Laurant. So that was his name. Maxim, you see, I found one more person before you, but I accidentally missed the time to ask the name. <...> I just didn't have enough patience, that wasn't on purpose, I swear. Listen, Maxim. There's one more thing I want to know, since I have the chance. How many people have you killed <...>? In that forest? Was there a girl among them? Please do tell. Answer me. Maxim, what's wrong? Maxim?.. Ah, Maxim. Have you died? What a pity. I wanted to ask so much more <...> I haven't had enough patience. It's all your fault, Maxim. I've known a person of the same name. He was... like a friend to me or even a brother. But I killed him. I left him to die. So terrible. I do deserve to go to hell. No doubt"." So, Gilles says he cannot die just yet until he's killed Damien Laurant. And he goes off, laughing. A piece of Noël nr.2 Noël is sitting in the room and playing on a melodica. He sees a shinig sunray through the hazed window, but he cannot express its colour by words. So instead he's trying to find the right expression through melody. His granny's also there and she says that he should shut up and leave, because she doesn't feel well with him around. Granny's been caughing hard and a lot lately, and she also came to neglect her looks. She doesn't dye her hair anymore, her tights have holes etc. Noël obeys and stops playing and goes to the exit. The room is overfilled with all kinds of garbage, so there isn't much place to step, thus it takes a lot of time. Before leaving, he actually told her to stop smoking, but to no avail =P He sits outside the apartment, in the staircase, and starts to play his melodica again, but the neighbour woman comes and tells him that her small babies are sleeping and Noël's disturbing them. So he leaves again and wanders around. No one is asking the boy with a melodica if something's wrong. As the evening draws near, he watches some windows where light turns on, feels very bad and runs off to the riverside. There he tried to play his melodica again, but some stranger that looked closely at him scared Noël and he hid himself under a bridge. Cars are riding above his head, wheels and tires screaming and echoing. Noël has a vision of a scary giant monster, which cannot be put in words - but can be expressed through melody. Scared, he plays the tune, he has the feeling his head is about to pop, but he goes on. The monster grabs cars and throws them around, and finally it finds Noël and bites his head, and grinds it with its teeth. Noël was gone. But not the melody. The monster was there... 3. Miezaru Ude So, this time the main hero's name is Serge. Serge Laurant. He's a young knight. He had a hard time gaining this position, but finally he succeeded and now he's at war. He has a servant, Beau (that reads roughly as "Bo" by French rules). Serge is around 19 years old. Beau is a bit older than him, but he's very smart and knows a lot. It's evening, the army is getting to rest. There are lots of mercenaries around, that are behaving much like beasts, so Serge is being sad that the times of noble chivalry are gone. We also learn that this is the army of general Alvarez. So, the night has come, when suddenly Beau wakes Serge and tells that there seems to be an enemy attack. Serge is all wtf, how can it be, that's so unlike what knights are supposed to act. Still, they have to accept the fact, that yup, apparently they're being attacked. Because of reasons Serge cannot get to his horse, but he desperately needs to go to the battle to prove himself a true knight and a good warrior. He grabs his sword and runs after the enemy, who seems to be not numerous at all. Apparently, the enemy's plan was to use the moment to kill as many mercenaries as possible, cause some chaos and then disappear. Unfortunately, pretty much right after Serge gets into the forest, he stumbles upon a knight with red hair and a cross-like scar on his cheek and gets half of his arm cut off. [but it wasn't said directly in the text] Oops! The next scene is discribed in a way that one could think it's a dream. So, Serge seems to live in Rouen now, he catches wild dogs and kills them to make a living. He doesn't particularly like his job, and he's almost constantly covered with dog blood and remains, so other citizens try to avoid him. He lives in a very narrow house with his wife, Natalie, who always meets him, and kisses him, and washes his clothes and makes him food (despite actually being a noble lady). Serge sees a dream that starts with him waking up after that life in Rouen and believing that it had been but a dream. In his nightmare he has both arms, but then the red-haired knight appears out of nowhere and cuts one of them off. Serge is trying his best to defend himself, and then he wakes up in his house in Rouen, because he ended up falling from the bed. He also discovers that Natalie lies on the floor, too, because of some reason. Apparently, he hit her in his sleep... Serge loves his wife a lot and he remembers that she comes from a good family. He wants to gain more money so that he could afford at least some luxury for her. He tries to work as a chimneysweep, but, unfortunately, he fails, as it's a tricky task for a man with only one arm. Irritated, he goes to a tavern and gets drunk. Then he gets into a fight with some drunkard. Then he forgets himself and wakes up with his head on some woman's heap. The woman's name is Bernadette and apparently she's a whore. Serge can't remember getting to her room, he's startled and disgusted, so he goes home right after. Natalie was waiting for him there. Soon as he returned, he got sober, and his right arm started to ache again. Some time after that Serge is on his dog-killing duty again. He is actually obliged to get the dog corpses to a certain house to get them burnt. This time he gets triggered by the smell of burning flesh, and remembers his arm being cauterized. It aches madly, as if put in boiling oil, and to make the pain disappear he gets drunk again. The same man as before (the one he had a fight with) insulted Serge by calling him a coward knight, and they fight again. Serge can't remember what happened after that, but he ended up falling asleep somewhere in the street, and then Bernadette finds him and gets to her room, removes his clothes, and kisses his wound... That triggers him again, but it seems that she actually provoked him on purpose so that he would hit her (apparently she’s somewhat masochistic). After that he runs back home again. Serge is tortured by questions: why, why is all this shit happening? Well, it's quite obvious, why. Because that red-haired knight cut off his arm. Speaking of which, that was more or less the only thing the red-haired knight managed to accomplish by his sudden attack. The next morning Alvarez rearranged the troops, and they were able to fight again. Except for Serge. This is about time we learn a bit about Natalie and Serge's relationship. Apparently Serge is the second son in a knight family. His father had a friend, a nobleman, and (apparently) merchant. That friend was much more rich than Serge's father, but they were close, and that’s why that friend would often visit the family. One day he brought along his daughter, who behaved like a noble queen. That pissed off Serge's elder brother, so he yelled at her, but Serge defended her. That time she was very thankful and called Serge her knight. That instant it was all decided. Serge now HAD to become a knight (as non-profitable as it seemed) to fulfill that... that kind of a promise that was made between the two by those words. They fell in love with each other. Serge doubted that his father's friend would be happy to know his daughter wanted to marry such a poor (although noble) man, but Natalie would neglect every other marriage proposal. After a lot of hardships Serge managed to become a knight after all, and all that was left was that he had to accomplish some feat. All of what I've just written was told in the text in the form of yet another nightmare, and yes, at this point the red-haired guy appears and cuts off the arm. Once again, Serge hits Natalie in his sleep. Serge is disgusted of himself, but Natalie tries to say that everything will get fine, they just need to overcome the hard times. She calls him her knight again, but this time it results in his rage and he actually strangles her until she's unconscious (that's what I call "triggered"!) His alcohol problem gets worse and worse. When he feels resolved to overcome this illness, he loses his job. Desperate to get drunk, he comes to the tavern, but gets kicked out, as he has no money. Bernadette finds him again and invites him to her house so that she could give him some wine. He hates Bernadette, but the wine... Anyway, he spends almost the whole night there. When he realized what he had done, he decides once and for all, that once he comes home, he will end this. If Natalie is waiting for him despite him being so late, he WILL start his life anew. If not, he will kill himself one way or another. When he does come home, he sees Natalie sobbing by her bed, but she's not alone - there's also Beau. Beau became a successful merchant after he quit the army, and APPARENTLY he was helping Serge's family all along (Serge having no idea about that). Serge finally realizes and starts being jealous. Fortunately, Natalie slaps this shit out of him. But when he wakes up in the morning, Natalie is gone. He thinks that must be another nightmare. It’s just that because of some reason he cannot wake up from it. He comes to understand that he did have something to lose, and it was his beloved wife, but now she's gone. He doesn't blame her, but he can't understand, why now of all times. Still believing it's all one big nightmare, he gets kicked out from his house and comes to Bernadette, where she gives him so much wine he cannot move for days, "as if wine was circulating in his veins instead of blood". He can't tell reality apart from the dream anymore. Lying in the bed, he sees the red-haired guy occasionally coming to the room. Finally Beau finds him in that state and grabs away. (here we also get to know a bit of Beau's story. he's a bastard of Laurant family, he's smarter and taller than Serge, but he hasn't inherited the famous Laurant blond hair, so he has to be Serge's servant; Serge has a complex because of that, even though he tries not to think of it) After having a talk with Beau Serge finds out that Beau knows the identity of that red-haired guy. And so Serge makes Beau tell him this story So, Damien Laurant was a self-proclaimed knight, not really different from a robber, and even more fierce than one. He was infamous for slaughtering whole villages instead of negotiating. Later he got kicked out from the army because of some reasons and had to become a real robber. Trying to maintain his fame, he hired way too many mercenaries, and the group ended up splitting and ceasing to exist. Right now Damien is told to have become a merchant who sells those "weird goods of the East" in Frankfurt. Without a further ado, Serge gets a horse from Beau (note that I haven’t used the word “asks” =‘D). rides to Frankfurt and searches for the man. He finds him in a tavern full of weird people. There he sees that Damien only has one arm and one eye, very much like Serge himself. Still Serge is resolved to have his revenge, when suddenly a young man in a dirt cloak appears, slaughters Damien and runs off, laughing like a child. "The young man seemed to have all his body-parts safe and sound. What had Damien Laurant taken from him? Serge would probably never know. But that man was missing something terribly important. He must have had a very good reason for the revenge. If Serge had heard his circumstances even just a bit, he would probably understand them. He didn't have the right to judge that young man. But what would that man with that laughter on the edge of craziness do from now on? And what if it would have been Serge, the one to carry out the revenge? What would he have done?" And, well, of course the boy resembling Damien was there, too. All in all, Serge realized that he still had a life and that he was obliged to live it. But that's not the end of the chapter. So, the last part is about Gilles again. He's walking through a city, when suddenly the Man in the Mask (yes, THE Man in THE Mask) catches up with him and gives some money for the service that Gilles had accomplished. Gilles's not sure, for which, as all his life has become a chain of murders. He can't even remember whom he's killing and why. He wants to kill everybody, but realizes that's no good. So, after receiving some gold he feels really uneasy, because that gold is heavy and he doesn't need it anyway. He drowns it into a river and then stumbles upon a beggar. The beggar's really persistent, and when Gilles reaches for a coin, that guy suddenly stabs him with a knife, takes a hammer and smashes Gilles's collarbones, elbows and knees, and jaws (ouch). Then he drags Gilles to a stall, where he tells Damien's (his father's) full story, which I'm too lazy to write down. One important thing is that Damien was on drugs when Gilles came to kill him, as he was ruining his life with that stuff. Otherwise there’d be no chance for Gilles to finish off the boy’s glorious dada. And Pierre (the boy's name, French for “a stone” or “a jewel”) was planning the revenge ever since, and realized he wants Gilles to live as long as possible in unbearable pain. "And you cannot escape from me. Ever".
Aaand this is about it for today, as I got a bit tired editing the stuff. However, I’ll continue soon, so stay tuned =) Please feel free to ask any questions. Upon rereading the synopsis I realized how, um, poor my narrative tools sometimes are x) See you!

A year ago today, in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting, I lost my shit on Facebook.  I have still not found my shit, and I believe it is gone forever.
I used to try and have conversations with the pro-gun crowd where I would be reasonable and calm and look for areas of compromise and try to hear and understand their point of view.  Certainly there were some things they said that I did and still do agree with - for example, that many of the attempts at gun control legislation are targeting features that are essentially cosmetic or otherwise manage to proclaim that the folks who wrote the legislation either don't know or don't care how guns actually work.  But in general, I ran into way too many arguments that were hateful, cowardly, selfish, and stupid - and all this while watching the number of shootings climb predictably higher every day.
So I lost it, and said I was done with reasonable conversations and if they want a boogeyman that's going to come and take their guns then fine, that can be me.  I'm coming for your guns.  I want to replace the second amendment with a wet fart noise and a photo of my middle finger.  Show me where to sign, I'll ban everything from machine guns to starter pistols.  I'm done with calm and reasonable discourse, because every time I tried it got me less than nowhere.
And, guys, let's be honest.  Yes this is me having a temper tantrum - a well earned one, I would argue.  But who cares?  Do you really think that it's actually going to happen?  Do you really think that America (you already knew I'm an American because I mentioned an epidemic of mass shootings and guess where that's a thing?) is going to out of nowhere after all this time come door to door and take all your precious guns?  Of course not.  You are never in any actual danger of losing your murder tools. But anyway, I wanted to document some of the worst pro-gun arguments, the ones that made me just give up on any kind of reasoned discourse:
1.  THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!!!!1!!! Like, that's it.  That's the whole argument.  I could get into a big debate about how different the circumstances were back then, or what the original intent of the 2nd amendment was, but no.  The fundamental problem with people that incoherently yell this is that they think the 2nd amendment existing is in and of itself a moral argument in its own favor.  Guys that is total batshit insanity.  "I should be allowed to do this because I'm allowed to do this" is not an actual functional argument, as it applies to any situation where slavery or child prostitution or whatever is legal.  Being allowed doesn't mean it SHOULD be allowed.  Go fuck yourself.
2.  If we don't have guns, we're all going to get killed by people with guns! There's an easy way to test this.  Let's look at other countries where they don't have guns.  Huh.  That's strange.  Looks like there are way less people getting shot to hell over there.  They don't have all these mass shootings for some reason, nor do they have widespread nightly murders by gun.  It's almost like your argument is a stupid counterfactual shit heap. Go fuck yourself.
3.  Okay fine but look at the number of stabbings over there, you want to outlaw knives too? Yes let's look at those numbers!  Please!  What's that?  Mass stabbings are less common and kill less people per incident because it's harder to mass stab a bunch of people to death?  Strange I would not have expected this oh wait.  I mean, yeah, it is not some amazing news flash that humans will find some way to harm each other.  That doesn't mean we should immediately throw up our hands and start distributing flamethrowers. Go fuck yourself.
4.  I need guns to defend my freedom from our tyrannical government! The funniest part about this is that it's always said by people who are not remotely oppressed by our society and who don't seem very vocal about defending those who are.  Shouldn't they be taking up arms against all the police that murder black people?  No?  Interesting.  Really this is a transparent power fantasy where they imagine that they're super important defenders of freedom and masturbate to the image of the government coming for them so they can be the valiant hero.  This is the same as a nerdy picked-on kid reading books like Harry Potter and wishing they could be some sort of chosen one except that the latter is harmless escapist fantasy and the former is nutjobs wielding actual murder devices.  I guess the better comparison would be someone literally dressing like a wizard all the time and hoping his parents will lock him in a closet so that he can blow things up with magic.  Go write a book or play some sort of militia-themed role playing game or something.  Living your stupid fantasy in real life is not healthy.  You're not going to overthrow the government, dumbass. Go fuck yourself.
5.  If you try to take my guns I will have to kill you, and murder is bad therefore you should let me keep my guns. Yes this is a real thing I have been told.  Just typing it out caused a nosebleed from the overload of stupidity, so I need to address this quickly lest it cause a fatal brain hemorrhage.  This stupid argument works for literally anything I'm willing to murder someone over.  Let's try it with slaves!  "You can't take my slaves away or I'll have to murder you, and murder is bad" yeah shit there goes the nosebleed again.  This is the worst and dumbest argument.  "Hi I am a dangerous psychopath so I should be allowed to do and have whatever I want" is not a way to run a society. Go fuck yourself.
6.  I can make my own gun, so you shouldn't ban any of them! Okay cool story!  It's not really news, even before we had all sorts of 3d printers and stuff it was trivial to make a super shitty gun.  But guess what else?  I can make bombs.  I can make a breeder reactor in my backyard - don't make that illegal just buy my neighbors some lead undergarments.  Hey guys, exciting news!  Anything dangerous you can make in your garage is now 100% legal!  Wheeeeee! Go fuck yourself.
7.  I want them therefore I should be able to have them because FREEDOM. I want to think of a clever way to say 'go fuck yourself' but I don't really feel like this 'argument' deserves even that minimal level of thought on my part.  So, go fuck yourself!  If you don't understand why this is an idiotic argument then there is no hope for you.  Convince yourself that I hate freedom or whatever, that's fine.  You're an idiot. You know yourself? Go fuck that.
FINAL THOUGHTS If anyone is like "Hey, Baron Fulmen, you were really rude and dismissive and isn't it a bit hypocritical to say these are bad arguments but then respond to them with things like 'go fuck yourself' which is in and of itself not a real counter-argument?" then holy shit have you missed the goddamn point.  This is me saying that I have given up on these gun-fondling assholes, I am venting about the observed inability to have a productive conversation when I *don't* just tell them to go fuck themselves, and I am saying that if the result is going to be the same either way I might as well tell them they're idiots that can eat a sack of fermented skunk shit.  I can no longer care about being friendly with people that value their murder-toys more than the lives of their fellow human beings.
And yes, to you out there all ready to raise your hand and be the gentle and reasonable voice of compassion that argues for calm discourse because these folks have been mislead by powers greater than themselves, I do understand the impact of fear and misinformation and insecurity and how the gun lobby and other forces manipulate people to... whatever.  Fuck it.  Don't care anymore.  Go have that conversation elsewhere, this is a place to tell people who can watch the endless parade of victims of gun violence and say 'worth it' to die in a fire.
Thanks.  I now return you to your usual program consisting of cute animal GIFs and shitty short stories.

Presenting:
Sadie's Solace
1
On that final night, its lurid pages still crisp beneath her tiny fingers, Sadie closed her book and placed it temporarily among the scattered ashes which accumulated like light frost from her mother's cigarettes upon the bedside table.
She had found the book, blanketed by cobwebs on the lanai which overlooked the river long before she could turn its letters into the syllables that molded precious words, like sea stones.
She had since unlocked the clues to their formation. She spent most of her days retreating to her storybook world. Every night, Sadie tucked her tattered covers so close to her body she formed a cocoon, the only protruding flesh being that of one flyspeck pink nostril which she required for sufficient airflow to her petite lungs and wedged herself deep into the crack between the wall and the threadbare mattress.
She would like to have howled along with the wind as its heavy gusts stormed through the Spanish moss trees. The stillness of the rotted logs which made up her delicate foundation kept these yearnings to a minimum. She would instead lay awake for hours, silently humming to herself along with the voices of the fishermen which echoed off the oblique freshwater canals that ran beside the cabin, much like the sinewy golden threads that replaced her vocal chords, preventing any correspondence between the outside world and her sapient southern soul.
Her mother carried the girl for 7 1⁄2 months until she could no longer bare the child’s burden.
2
The infant was born silent peering through crystalline eyes, wide open and transparent, onto the cracked linoleum. Her mother wrapped her in the birthing blanket and placed her on the ground next to the bucket designated to catch the rains as they eternally seeped through the warped ceiling, as she had forgotten to bring in the old bassinet from the shed.
Shortly, after a haunting dream which revealed his daughter's silent malady, her father fled the riverside. Raving about the undeniable and underestimated hazards of rearing the children of his lineage. Her silence and transparent eyes didn't bother her mother. In fact, she felt it was a blessing.
Sadie seemed to intuit what her mother expected of her before being asked. She seemed intelligent beyond her sparse years. As for the silence? It was welcomed. Her mother's patience long spread thin, from the many years she spent begging Sadie's father to join her in their reality.
As Sadie grew, the rooms of the house grew with her. The emptiness of the cabin grew like the walls, and the girl, and the river, as often as the rains fell.
It seemed as though a thousand years had passed since Sadie's mother had stepped out beyond the cattails and became fraught with the foolishness of fresh love to the crooning of an ancient jukebox.
Sooner than expected the new couples “happily ever after” was over. Sadie's mother had stopped greeting him at the door upon his return from beyond the cattails. She no longer took his hardened fist in her gentle hand and lead him lustfully into the bedroom which was once designated for Sadie, the room from which she had finally been relocated when the moldy depressions in the ceiling became too ambitious to ignore, and the torrential rains perpetually lubricated the worn out sheets.
Now, her mother would wait patiently until night fell and her new husband had become sufficiently intoxicated. Dressed in her floral nightgown and rollers, she would send him off to bed, or lure him with more libations into the abyss of his reclining chair.
3
As quickly as her husband's attention waned, Sadie's mother morphed into a glamorous siren, like the woman whose high heels two stepped onto his soggy and withered heart some years ago. Her copper hair now in ringlet curls and lips the color of red slippers. She would place a gentle kiss upon her never quite sleeping daughters forehead, and off she would go, past the cattails and into the uncertainties of night, where she too, was young again. Though unlike her daughter, the mother would carol unabashed to the fishermen with her siren song, a huntress, unafraid of the vestigial other half she'd left behind, under the watchful eyes of her silent daughter.
Sadie listened intently to the night voices wrapped in her cocoon. As early as she could translate words to meaning she grew fascinated with the sounds of the fishermen, who captained their coarse canoes across her portion of the bewitched river. Late at night, wrapped in her solace, she would imagine elaborate tales around the dialogue of the fishermen. The voices of the men on the river, the only human voices, she deemed worth emulating. The men's voices shaped her fears and curiosities of the world outside of the cabin, the heroic canoe captains who slurred obscenities and lavish tales, as they brandished their fishing poles like Excalibur, and treated their oars like trusted steeds.
On the nights that the nightmare of her new step-father overpowered the captain's narratives, her imagined existence became increasingly useful. Sadie would retreat to the images of the fishermen as she envisioned them below her lanai, free upon the river aboard their big green canoes, or shiny motorboats, Just as they looked when she stole glances of them during daylight, except that on these dark nights they shone brighter through the broken window of her bedroom. She would fruitlessly try to ignore the overpowering nature of her step-father's stench, musky and melted like the armchair in which he spent most of his semi-conscious hours.
As he entered her room she would often begin to imagine herself floating serenely amongst the bluegills until she was jarred out of her fantasy, by the chill left from her unraveled cocoon. The shadow of her step-father still lingering in the crooked door frame.
4
Clanging in the stagnant swampy air as he struggled to hold himself up against the weight of the whiskey and his step-daughters silent disdain. Sadie's mother had deemed it unnecessary to send her to school. Afterall, ever since the morning she dropped onto the kitchen floor, Sadie had exhibited a fabulous amount of intuition, as if she had already knew what it was to be a tiny human.
As she grew, she demonstrated an ingrained knowledge for arithmetic and biology, the most peculiar of her ingrained skills was her inquisitive passion for entomology.
Sadie collected the carcasses of the lizards, bees, and cockroaches which found their way inside the cabin, and examined them scrupulously. She took extra care to round up the shrunken spider exoskeletons and hide them under the doormats or in tiny Dixie cup vases for later and more thorough inspection, for she had taken notice of her step-father's discomfort when confronted by them.
Her crystal eyes would gleam ablaze with curiosity over these foreign creatures. On the rare occasion that she found an arachnid alive, Sadie would delicately coax it into her hand with insurmountable ease and free it, through a tear in the screen of a window. And from the moment she placed her fingertips upon the only book which existed in their cobwebbed library, hidden on the all but forgotten lanai of their log cabin upon the river -- it seemed as though she required it's pages like a fish required water.
Sadie could also write, though only on her own accord. It was as though her mothers coaxing, just intensified her increasing shyness on the matter.
So, Sadie was mostly left alone. Her mother unaware of the gleaning threat that lingered in the domestic swamps of the living-room, a scourge Sadie likened to the alligators that sometimes sat on the riverbanks just outside of her bedroom, lazily looming above the bluegill beds, until their hunger boiled over and they feasted on the innocent yet, suspicious fish. The torrential rains began to become increasingly unforgiving as Sadie continued to receive near nightly visits from her mostly unconscious step-father, her escape into the world of words and fishermen fantasy becoming less fulfilling than her desire to escape the confines of her boggy existence on inside the cabin.
5
On that final night, back in bed, Sadie noted the fear in the weathered floorboards before her mother even reached the screen door. When it finally slammed shut her voice rose above the crickets chaotic choir, into a shrill and powerful solo.
“How could you? ” She exhaled, the confidence in her voice could have stirred the souls of men who have spent eternities in mausoleums. Though she was soaked to the bone, she waved the dry spine of Sadies book above her head.
Sadies step-father's hardened shell was barely shaken by the sudden waves upon his stillness, he opened his eyes, though, the infomercials which he slouched in front of seemed interrupted by this sudden change in scenery and simultaneously quieted their droning. Infuriated by his slow reaction, she bellowed again, “How could you?”
He reached for the glass in the cup holder of his gruesome chair and took a long and pointed gulp before responding, “what?”
Sadie's mother, crumpled like a paper ball, to the ground. She'd strategically chosen a spot dreadfully close to the fireplace and all of its accouterments. She began to read aloud from the book, but this time it was not the tales of the fine block printed words Sadie had read over and over again to herself, the words her mother read were words which had been scratched there in the red crayon scrawl of her daughter.
“August 2nd 1989
Mama, I can’t never rest. The nights that ur here, I sleep with one eye open, an the nights that ur gone, my eyes stay clamped shut but no sweet dreams come to em.”
She turns the pages, her fiery first charge, slipping away, leaving shambles. She continues to read, one eye focused intently on her expressionless husbands face.
“August 4th 1989
Mama, He tries to force me to sing, knowing full well that I can't, especially, not for him.”
6
Too shocked to cry, Sadie's mother stood up and straightened her curls. She proceeded forwards towards the great stone face in the armchair.
It seemed as if he was incapable of comprehending the heinousness of his actions.
Before she could reach him he jumped up in a bolt of life unseen by his wife in their years together and contorted in a series of gestures were mistaken for a handful of erratic and rapid apathetic shrugs, infuriating Sadie's mother irreparably. Though in hindsight, one can assume that this is the very moment in which the inhabitants of the delicate Dixie cup castle Sadie had constructed inside the cracks of the armchair had eaten through the crumbs in the crevasses of the recliner and moved on to their bigger, and more satisfying main course.
Content that she had created enough of a scene to distract from her departure, Sadie wrapped her tattered cocoon around her head, a magical hybrid between a crown and an umbrella designed in advance to keep out the rancid words that were now flying across the living room and the torrential sea salted rains. She slipped on her mother's slippers, as to not make a sound and headed for the forgotten lanai.
The lack of fishermen on the river that night was initially alarming, though as the river swelled with the seeds of the downfall, the men had assumed less and less of a presence there, leaving Sadie even more to her own thoughts than ever before.
Sadie had installed a slit in the screen just above the pathway that led to the riverbanks months ago, it's presence like a porthole to freedom. It's mere existence there gave her a feeling of calm. That night, she pulled back the slit screen porthole and shimmied out. The sweet sting of the downpour awakening her senses as she climbed the jagged rock path to the riverbed. In a rush of life, Sadie kicked off her mother's slippers and placed her feet into the sand. She stood solemnly and embraced the long-obscured view. It was then, as she scanned the overgrown horizon through the cattails, that she spotted it. Carefully tucked beneath the small wooden deck her real father once used for fishing was a beautifully preserved forest green canoe. “The Captain,” crookedly written in off white paint near the tip of its hull. It showed bright amidst the darkness of the river, and the colorless backdrop of the night.
7
Without hesitation, Sadie scuttled over the debris the storms had washed ashore, old buoys and tree limbs, the occasional forgotten lure, and she crawled inside. Sadie removed her cotton crown and fashioned a plot to lay on, in the crux between the seat and the shell of the fiberglass. With the weight of the cocoon lifted, she spread her tiny arms and flopped flat on her back, her opulent skin catching the rouge rains as the winds dispersed them under the deck. Sadie breathed a sigh of relief that could be felt as far as the gulf, and she began to sing. Her voice as sharp as diamonds fell like distant sea stones. concealed by the persistent pelting of rain.

Lewiston Democrats rode a social media firestorm to the bank, netting $181,000 in donations

Lewiston Democrats rode a social media firestorm to the bank, netting $181,000 in donations
When Kiernan Majerus-Collins launched an online fundraising campaign last spring, the Lewiston political activist was hoping to hit a nerve with people angered about comments made by a local legislative candidate.
Republican Leslie Gibson’s attack on survivors of the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., proved to be worth tens of thousands of dollars to the Lewiston Democratic City Committee. Screen image from Twitter
Instead, Majerus-Collins tapped a vein – an artery, even – of progressives nationwide who are outraged over pushback against Florida teenagers demanding stronger gun laws in the aftermath of a mass shooting at their high school in February.
The windfall of donations – more than $170,000 in less than a week – was 34 times more than the Lewiston Democratic City Committee had raised in the previous six-month period and roughly 100 times the amount raised by the Greater Bangor Democratic Committee. It was a historic, social media-fueled fundraising haul for a small, local political committee headed by a group of progressive activists in their 20s.
“I was shocked,” Majerus-Collins, who graduated from Bates College this year, said on Tuesday. “When I first put up the fundraising appeal, I thought maybe we would raise a couple of hundred dollars that would help us do some of the programming we have been doing and struggling to do. We were all surprised by the response.”
The Lewiston Democratic City Committee entered the homestretch of the 2018 election season flush with $181,000 in donations through June 30. In contrast, its rival organization, the Androscoggin County Republican Committee, received $10,339 in donations during that period. But the Lewiston Democrats face questions about how that money will be used.
The target of that initial fundraising appeal, Republican legislative candidate Les Gibson, dropped out of the race amid national headlines inspired by his calling one Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student activist a “skinhead lesbian” and another a “bald-faced liar.”
And the Democrat recruited to challenge Gibson, Eryn Gilchrist, not only can’t use any of the money for her campaign but remains deeply disturbed by the fundraising tactics ostensibly used on her behalf – including the creation of a Twitter account in her name.
“I found it to be really frustrating and emblematic of what I don’t like about politics, which is someone capitalizing on something divisive,” said Gilchrist, who as a publicly funded Clean Election candidate can only accept a limited number of small donations. “It drives a wedge between people.”
PLANS FOR HOW FUNDS WILL BE SPENT
The Lewiston Democratic Party’s enormous fundraising success in such a short period illustrates not only the political power of social media but also how little control donors have over how their money is used once they write that paper or virtual check.
The Lewiston Democratic City Committee must abide by Maine’s campaign finance and transparency laws, which include disclosing how money is spent. As of June 30, the last campaign finance reporting deadline, the committee had spent $11,473 with more than half of that paid as “processing fees” to the Democratic fundraising website Act Blue.
Majerus-Collins, who is one of four 20-somethings leading the Lewiston Democratic Party, is pledging to put the money to use consistent with the original intent of electing Democrats, while working on longer-term initiatives to boost Democratic turnout and voter enrollment.
“When we asked the world to give to us, we told donors that money would be used to defeat Les Gibson and it only took us four days to do that,” Majerus-Collins said. Gibson, he noted, is still treasurer of the Androscoggin Republican Party and retained the support of many local and state Republican Party leaders. The only exceptions Majerus-Collins points to are state Sen. Amy Volk of Scarborough and Rep. Bruce Bickford of Auburn, both of whom publicly criticized Gibson’s comments.
“So as far as I’m concerned, the people who aided and abetted Les Gibson … are fair game,” he said.
One of those local party officials, Androscoggin County Republican Committee Chairwoman Patti Gagne, said she isn’t sweating how local Democrats will deploy their massive war chest.

“It doesn’t concern me really because I think we have a strong backing from people who want to see things continue in the direction that (Gov. Paul) LePage has taken us in and the direction that (President) Trump is taking us,” Gagne said. “We are working hard on our end as well.”
Gagne also said that as a conservative Roman Catholic, she often feels unfairly maligned by liberals who claim to support free expression but only when it comports with their own views.
“I just think it was really unfair,” Gagne said of the reaction to Gibson’s comments. “At the time, Mr. Gibson felt it was the right thing to step down. But I wish he would have stayed in the race and stood up for his right for free speech.”
CLEAN ELECTION CANDIDATE
At the time of his controversial comments, Gibson was the only candidate running for the House District 57 seat that includes the conservative-leaning towns of Greene and Sabattus. Gilchrist announced her candidacy just days before the deadline as the social media storm against Gibson grew.
As a Clean Election candidate, Gilchrist cannot tap into any of the $181,019 that the Lewiston Democratic City Committee raised through June 30. The Lewiston Democrats can spend money to support her or oppose her Republican opponent, Thomas Martin Jr., who stepped into the House District 57 race after Gibson’s comments became public. But the committee is prohibited by law from coordinating with Gilchrist on those expenditures.
Lewiston Democratic City Committee leaders – particularly Majerus-Collins – repeatedly referred to Gilchrist’s candidacy in their fundraising appeal.
“Great news: we’ve recruited a local Democrat to run against him! Folks can contribute here,” Majerus-Collins said several dozen times on March 13 in response to comments on Twitter.
“I promise that 100 percent of every dollar we receive will go directly to beating Les Gibson and his allies here in Maine,” he said in a March 14 post on Twitter. “We are determined to make sure that Gibson never sets foot in the Capitol as a state legislator.”
Gilchrist said the committee even created a Twitter account in her name, although she was subsequently able to gain control over it.
In an April 20 post on Facebook announcing that she had qualified to run as a Clean Election candidate, Gilchrist wrote that “a group unaffiliated with me, the 57th district, or my campaign raised tens of thousands of dollars using my name and practices that I don’t condone.” She then said she hoped the Lewiston Democratic City Committee “reforms their fundraising practices and honors the wishes of donors who may feel they were misled.”
‘TURN PEOPLE INTO LIFELONG VOTERS’
Months later, the fundraising activity still bothers Gilchrist.
“I would question how many people who donated understood that is what they were donating to,” Gilchrist said. “I think the money is inappropriate, period, and the usage is inappropriate.”
Asked about that criticism, Majerus-Collins said he certainly understands Gilchrist’s concerns and agrees that “we have to honor the wishes of the donors.” To him, that means working to defeat Gibson’s allies while also working to strengthen the Democratic base in the Lewiston area.
Majerus-Collins said the committee has no plans to blanket the region or Maine’s 2nd Congressional District with campaign mailers or to spend large sums on radio or television ads in support or opposition to any one candidate.
“I think that’s a mistake that the Democratic Party makes,” he said.
Instead, the committee plans to use that money to boost voter registration and turnout among college students and recent immigrants – two groups that often lean Democratic in Maine – and to “build a better electorate over time.”
“If you can turn people into lifelong voters, that is so much more powerful and long-lasting than a TV ad or a mailer that people look at for three seconds and then toss in the recycling bin,” he said.

SHOOTER- MEDIA-NEWS-
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The other day- Sunday afternoon- I did a few roll out videos- on them I discussed media manipulation- I even talked about how they have shaped the narrative on gun shootings in our country. Sure enough that night- we had one of the most horrific mass shootings in the nations history- as of now- 59 dead in the Vegas strip shooting. I did a few comments/videos since then- I decided to link them all to one post- here it is. I might add some controversial video links that have come up since the shooting- if you watch my videos you will see how I do not buy into all the various conspiracy theories going around- but these other links are making the rounds- and there is a general distrust of the media and official government reports- on many things. In my opinion they deserve this distrust- and that's what fuels the conspiracy theorists- I’ll also link whatever videos I make today- 10-4-17-

 https://youtu.be/G4CCQi62RBY Shooter 2- media disgrace
https://ccoutreach87.com/10-3-17-shooter-2-media-disgrace/
Last video [Walk the dog]- I did talk about Logos- Word- and did a little teaching- yes- on the antichrist! Did I crack the code? You’ll have to watch to find out.
Ok- obviously I simply did a day of discussing media- I talked about how NBC had breaking news- yes- they reported that Tillerson called Trump a MORON. This pressed Trump’s button- and they knew it!
CNN ran a story ‘Trump to have special meeting over tensions between him and Tillerson’. Then they had 3 stories- in a row- where the phrase MORON was in the title. Like college kids playing a game.
The short teaching on the video spoke about the importance of the Word- Logos [Jesus].
I guess it’s fitting- our nation- and the world- have some real problems-
The Vegas shooting- yes- the recovery from the hurricanes- and other very important things that REAL NEWS is not covering- the humanitarian crisis in Yemen- where many are dying- not because of a hurricane- or a deranged shooter-
But because of real shooters- in a proxy war- in which the U.S. is arming one of the sides [Saudi Arabia].
Yes- many more than 59 are killed- and many more than all the recent hurricanes combined.
Yet- we actually play a roll in these deaths- and if the media gave 1/ 100th of the coverage they give to MORON stories- we might actually be able to save lives- yes- of women and kids.
So the word- whether print- or spoken- can have a positive impact on the world.
But sad to say- we are getting the wrong words-
As Christians- and yes- independent bloggers- we can play a role as well.
It’s sad that many in our society simply do not trust the mainstream media- or the official government reports.
Many have turned to others- to try and find REAL WORDS- words that are simply speaking truth.
Not manipulation- not personal attacks against the president- any president.
The public know the difference between true investigative journalism- and what we see today.
There was a time when journalism- on both sides of the aisle- could be trusted- but no more.
 So- that's it for today-
Unless there is some other breaking world news event-
Like maybe Trump’s wife called him a moron too- then sure enough-
That headline will take precedence over the kids who are dying in Yemen- or Africa- or in many other places of the world.
Because the shooting of 59 people in Vegas- as tragic as that is- that same loss of life happens every single day in worn torn areas of our world- yet never makes it to the radar screen of the so called REAL news.
For those who are interested in real news- here’s just one link

NEW-
Once again- I talked about a lot of stuff on today’s video.
I’ll try and hit the high points.
In the famous confession of Peter we see Jesus- and all who confess him- as the ‘stones’ that the church- the spiritual temple of God- is built upon-
Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Peter- in his own letter refers to us as ‘living stones’-
1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Now- John in his vision on the Island of Patmos saw the same thing-
Revelation 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
That the foundation of the church- the city coming down from God  out of heaven- also had the names of the apostles ‘built into it’.
The church is made up of all those who believe- and have received this revelation- that Jesus is indeed the Son of God.
In the city John saw- there were angels at the gates- the gates are described as ‘pearls’ as well-
Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
This is where we get the term ‘pearly gates’.
Paul teaches that the church is built ‘upon’ the foundation of the apostles and prophets- Jesus being the chief cornerstone-
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph.
Most of us realize Paul is talking about the church- not an actual temple with cement and rocks.
But many view the same image that John sees- as an actual city/building ‘coming down from God’-
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Now- we are indeed the actual dwelling place of God- but when John sees his vision- he is seeing what Paul himself wrote about.
Get it?
Jesus taught us that no man can really know who he is- unless God revealed it to him-
John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
 Paul teaches the same-
1 Corinthians 12:3
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
So- we today- the temple that God dwells in- are the city coming down from God out of heaven-
The Bride-
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Revelation 21:9
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
 2 Corinthians 11:2
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
The spiritual stones that make up the city are ‘children of revelation’- meaning children who have received this understanding from God.
John sees a ‘light’ in this city- not the sun or moon mind you.
But a light that has shined for all who believe-
The Lamb himself-
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Yes- the bible says the word is a light unto our path-
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Ps. 119
Jesus is that light-
John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
 John 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
We walk in the light- as he is in the light-
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1st Jn. 1:7
Those who walk in sin- they can’t enter into the city-
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Rev. 22
Repentance and faith are required to get in- to be a part of this city of God-
Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
The Jerusalem which is below- earthly- is in bondage-
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Gal. 4
meaning those who stayed in the law covenant- would not benefit from this new reality in God.
But the ‘Jerusalem which is above’ the church- coming down from God out of heaven is free-
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Gal. 4
Yes- John saw some great things in his revelation on the Island of Patmos.
These are the same things we see in the teaching of Jesus- and Paul.
Jesus is the head of the church- he is the cornerstone- and he is the foundation-
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
 Colossians 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
But we read that the church is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets-
That means their gift- in preaching Christ- is declaring him as the foundation they were laying-
1 Corinthians 3:11 [Full Chapter]
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Yes- he is Lord of all-
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

1886- DIVINE LOGOS
Okay- just read Isaiah 65- one chapter left.
These past few weeks I have been going thru the last 15 or so chapters of the book.
There are lots of great themes to do- maybe I’ll take a pic of the verses I wrote down and hung up here in my study.
I also wanted to engage in a conversation on the Divine Logos.
 Huh?
Well yeah- maybe a little scholarly sounding- but my goal has been to ‘upgrade’ our level of teaching.
When I say ‘our’ I’m talking generally about the present day church in America- and the obsession with ‘the now’.
That is ‘what do I get out of this- monetarily?’
Yeah- that’s the rave of the day.
So- every so often I do my best to walk the other road- to give the other side of the coin.
So- a few weeks ago I was at my daughter’s house- we usually have the whole family over for the b-days and stuff.
And my kids like playing those word games.
So they bought some game- don’t remember the whole name- but part of the name had LOGOS in it.
I just quipped ‘you do know what that means’?
Now- I kid around so much- sometimes they have a hard time believing me- like ‘sure- you’re making it up’.
 No- for real!
  Logos means WORD.
It’s the Greek language- which the New Testament was written in- and it simply means WORD.
My 2nd oldest said ‘I should have known that’.
My oldest daughter- Bethany- just turned 27- Becky is a couple of years younger.
They both have degrees from A&M University here in Texas- top notch school for sure.
So that’s why Becky ‘should have known it’.
Anyway- this word is a favorite in the writings of the apostle John.
In both the gospel and his 3 little letters [1st, 2nd and 3rd John] he uses this term to describe Jesus.
‘In the beginning was THE WORD and the word was with God…’
 That’s the Greek word- Logos.
It should be noted that the early Greek philosophers had a concept much like this.
All the way back to the time of Plato- Socrates and Aristotle [around 500 years before Christ] the Greeks were speaking about a universal principle- some type of ‘unifying theory’ that would be the basis of all knowledge.
They spoke about this principle as THE LOGOS.
So- some of the critics of Christianity did use this as a criticism of the church- they say ‘see- the disciples were just making stuff up- borrowing themes that were already there’.
 Do they have a point?
A point- maybe- but that’s all.
In the letters of John we also read him refuting a cult of the day- called Gnosticism [Gnosis is the Greek word for knowledge. They believed that they had secret knowledge that the others did not have.  A modern twist on this is sometimes referred to as Revelation Knowledge- it’s a form of this ‘special knowledge’ idea that existed in the early days of the church.]
An off shoot of this group were called the Docetists.
These guys were pseudo Christians- they held to some form of Christian belief- but denied the true faith of the church.
They taught that Jesus was ‘a phantom spirit’ that is- they denied what we refer to as the incarnation.
That God became man in the person of Christ.
John was one of the youngest disciples- and he also outlived the others.
His writings are probably the oldest in the N.T. [Revelation]
So- he was around long enough to refute the growing philosophical challenges to the church.
So- putting all this together- when John said Jesus was the Divine Logos- he was not ‘stealing’ that idea from the earlier Greek philosophers who were indeed looking for a Logos principle.
No- he was saying ‘look- we- the followers of Christ- have found the thing you were looking for all the time- he is the Wisdom- the Logos of God’.
 See?
Okay- I haven’t read John in a long time- nor have I ever studied Greek.
But- I do have a Greek lexicon [a book that gives you the Greek word before it was translated into English].
And back ‘in the day’ when we were young believers- seeking to learn the faith- these were the basic tools of the trade.
But today- well- the tools are motivation- success stuff.
Learning how to invest- make a buck [or 2] - how to ‘create your world’.
Yeah- we really don’t have time for all that silly stuff like the Logos.
After all- it’s all Greek to me.
 Yeah- I know.

(1343) One of the other themes that spoke to me from Galatians was the idea that Israel and the world were under a ‘schoolmaster phase’ until the fullness of times arrived. This phase was the whole economy of Old Testament law and rule. I felt like the Lord was saying that many of us have been led, and actually have arrived, at places and purposes the hard way; i.e. - the ‘tutor’ phase. That is God allowed the process of trial and error and discipline to work in us until we arrived at the purpose and goal. Isaiah says that ‘I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction’ yes, this way of ‘arriving’ is much more painful, but it still gets you there. Now the entire discipline phase for the world was the time period before the Cross. The law and the Old Covenant were the only way to ‘get there’ so to speak. If people wanted to have a relationship with God, they were either born Jews, or converted to Judaism. Today of course we have access thru the Cross. One of the earliest ‘cults’ of Christianity was a sect call ‘Gnosticism’ these early adherents mixed Greek dualism [material world bad, spirit world good type of a thing] in with Christianity, they taught that the God of the Old Testament was the evil God who created the material world, and that thru Jesus we can come to know the true God of the New Testament, the God who gives us salvation by delivering us from the material world. Though it seems like there are verses in the New Testament that teach that the ‘world’ is evil and that God wants to ‘deliver us from this present evil world’ [Galatians] yet in these contexts ‘the world’ is simply speaking of the lost system of man and the ‘way of the world’. In Christian theology matter is not inherently evil. The Apostle John would deal with the Gnostics in his first epistle by saying ‘whoever denies that Jesus has come in the flesh is not of God- they are anti-Christ’. Because the Gnostics believed all matter to be evil they would reject the humanity of Jesus, John was targeting them in his letter. As I mentioned before the controversy over the Trinity was settled at the council of Nicaea [a.d.325] but the church still battled with the nature of Jesus. Nicaea said ‘God is one essence/substance and 3 persons’. But this did not fully deal with the nature of Jesus, various ideas rose up [Monarchianism, Dynamic Monarchianism] that challenged the nature of Christ. In 451 a.d. the church settled on the language that ‘Jesus is one person with 2 substances/essences [natures]’, though to some this looks like a contradiction to the earlier language of Nicaea, this council in 451 [Chalcedon] was simply saying Jesus was ‘fully God and fully man’ so anyway we were all under the discipline phase until the ‘fullness of times’. I am believing God to get us to the destination with less ‘tutoring’ if you will, less trial and error. Sure, we will never fully get to the point of not making a few mistakes and stumbling along the way, but as we get older hopefully we will ‘stumble less’.
Correction- I ‘joked’ about the media being the antichrist- the number some scholars think is actually 616- I said on the video- 613- so- for the media- I guess you got lucky today- see below-
[parts]
Gematria- a common use at the time John wrote- which gives each letter of the Hebrew alphabet a numerical value.
Nero Caesar[ 1st century emperor] equals 666.
STUFF HE DID;
1-Made people worship him- as God [2Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.]
2-Castrated a boy- named Sporus- then married him.
3-Put tar on Christians- set them on fire and used them as human torches.
Nero ruled as emperor and persecuted the early church- his rule led up to the destruction of the Jewish temple in a.d. 70.
The predictions Jesus gave to his apostles about the destruction of Jerusalem and a great time of wrath [or tribulation] can indeed be seen as having happened during the 1st century.
Many people believed Nero to be the fulfillment of the anti-Christ that the New Testament speaks of.
John the apostle wrote that ‘anti-Christ’ were those who denied Jesus- at the time of his writing [1st century].
John- who wrote Revelation- said ‘the mind that has wisdom’ will figure out who he is talking about.
John sent this letter to actual Christians living in the 1st century.
You would expect that the readers of the letter would have some clue to who he was talking about.
As we go thru Revelation- my intent is not to cover [and debate] all the various views on all the verses in this book.
I simply show you this view [which I think is about the best one out there] Because we live in a day where many of the ‘end times’ teachings seemed to be consumed with a future leader [a famous preacher just prophesied ‘the anti-Christ is here’ the other day] who is still to come-
And that this will set off a cascade of events [most see these events as prophesied in Revelation- and sort of see it as a play book].
So- it is quite possible that the anti-Christ was Nero-
And yes- we live in a wicked world- and sure- we might/will continue to see men ‘rise’ and do wicked things.
But when Paul and John wrote- in the first century- warning the believers about a wicked ruler who would do bad things-
I think it would have been a disservice if he were speaking about a leader- who would not show up- until at least 2 thousand years later.
BELOW- I pasted some various views here- just to give you a flavor of the different ways Christians view some of these things.
At the end I also added some of the passages I talk about on the video.
Here’s a quote from St. Augustine- an early Christian leader- referring to the verse I pasted from 2nd Thessalonians-
"Some think that the Apostle Paul referred to the Roman empire, and that he was unwilling to use language more explicit, lest he should incur the calumnious charge of wishing ill to the empire which it was hoped would be eternal; so that in saying, 'For the mystery of iniquity doth already work,' he alluded to Nero, whose deeds already seemed to be as the deeds of Antichrist. And hence some suppose that he shall rise again and be Antichrist. Others, again, suppose that he is not even dead, but that he was concealed that he might be supposed to have been killed, and that he now lives in concealment in the vigor of that same age which he had reached when he was believed to have perished, and will live until he is revealed in his own time and restored to his kingdom. But I wonder that men can be so audacious in their conjectures" (De Civitate Dei, XX.19.3).
I pasted this from another site-
In both ancient Greek and Hebrew, letters also represented numerals (as they do in Latin), their values assigned according to the order of the alphabet, alpha and aelph, for example, having the numerical value of 1. By adding these values, words could be represented as the sum of their numbers. This literation of numbers and numeration of letters was known as isopsephism by the Greeks and gematria by the Jews (which, in cabalistic practice, has been used to interpret Hebrew scripture). If the Greek spelling of Nero Caesar (Neron Kaisar) is transliterated into Hebrew (nrwn qsr), the numerical equivalent is 666.
What is curious, however, is not so much that 666 can be decoded to signify Nero but that the name of the emperor is encoded in this particular number, especially since it could have been represented more readily in other ways. If "Nero" is retained in Greek, for example, the numeration would be 955 or, if "Neron," 1005; in Hebrew, then 256 or 306, respectively. It only is when the words are transliterated into Hebrew that the numeration adds up to 666 (nrwn qsr, 50 + 200 + 6 + 50 + 100 + 60 + 200). Even so, this is an alternate spelling, a letter in "Neron" being transliterated (nrwn instead of nrw) but not in "Caesar" (qsr instead of qysr), although these forms do appear in both the Talmud and a contemporary Aramaic scroll from Qumran. It is intriguing, therefore, that 666 encodes the name of Nero in Hebrew when Revelation, itself, was written in Greek.
One should appreciate, too, that there were no numbers in Greek or Hebrew and that the "the number of the beast" was not presented as a figure but as letters of the alphabet or written in full. That is to say, it was not expressed as "666" (indeed, discrete Arabic numerals would not be invented for another five hundred years) but as the numerical values of the three letters representing 600, 60, and 6.
For Watt, the significance of 666 is that its expression in Latin is the sequential Roman numerals DCLXVI, which parallels but is the antithesis of the "Alpha and Omega" that John uses to characterize both Christ (22:13) and God (1:8, 21:6). As the Deity represents the beginning and end, so the Antichrist is a reversal of the first and last, D (500) preceding I (1). To phrase this another way, 666 (or rather DCLXVI) signifies the Antichrist because that number signifies Nero, and Nero—who was a matricide, proclaimed his divinity on Egyptian coins as the "Savior and Benefactor of the World," and the first emperor to persecute the Christians—signifies the Antichrist. Indeed, the procurator of Judea (c. AD 60) refers to Nero as "my lord" (kyrios), the same title applied to Jesus (Acts 25:26).
If the Latin (rather than the Greek) spelling "Nero Caesar" (above) is transliterated into Hebrew (nrw qsr), the final "n" in Neron being omitted (and its corresponding value of 50), the name computes as 616, which is the number indicated in the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament (the fragment illustrated below). If, instead, "Neron Caesar" is correct, it may be that the Latin was transcribed incorrectly, perhaps because the copyist realized that this transliteration did not equate to 666 and so omitted the letter, which changed the sum to 616.
Still, each digit of 666 is one less than seven, the perfect number, and such mathematical play may have tended to establish 666, rather than 616. Regardless of the number, Nero is the only name that can account for both 666 and 616, which is the most compelling argument that he, and not some other emperor, such as Caligula or Domitian, was intended. Too, for the number to have any significance for a reader of the first century AD, it would have to refer to a contemporary historical figure.
Writing a century later, Irenaeus is the first church father to comment on the number of the beast, although he apparently was ignorant of what the number actually encoded. Nor is he correct in assuming that John's vision occurred "almost in our day, towards the end of Domitian's reign" (Adversus Haereses, V.30.3; a tradition repeated by Eusebius in his Ecclesiastical History, III.18.3, and by the church fathers), which is to say sometime before AD 96, when the emperor was assassinated and just a few years before John himself died of old age. Rather, his presumed banishment to Patmos (where Revelation was written) seems to have occurred almost thirty years earlier, toward the end of Nero's reign and before the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70, which John otherwise would have mentioned.
For Irenaeus, 666 was correct. The Antichrist "sums up in his own person all the commixture of wickedness which took place previous to the deluge....and also sums up every error of devised idols since the flood" (V.29.2). The flood came in the six hundredth year of Noah and the golden image set up by Nebuchadnezzar (who Shadrach, Meshach, and Bednego refused to worship) was sixty cubits high and six cubits wide (Daniel 3:1ff). This being the case and "this number being found in all the most approved and ancient copies....I do not know how it is that some have erred following the ordinary mode of speech, and have vitiated the middle number [L] in the name, deducting the amount of fifty from it, so that instead of six decads they will have it that there is but one" (V.30.1).
Nero, too, was the sixth emperor, counting from Julius Caesar (as did Suetonius, for example, and Josephus, cf. Antiquities of the Jews, XVIII.2.2, where Tiberius is identified as the third). "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come" (Revelation 17:9-10). Of these emperors, it is Nero who had been "wounded to death" but "his deadly wound was healed" and he still lived (13:3)—Nero redivivus.
St. Jerome-"As for the Antichrist, there is no question but what he is going to fight against the holy covenant, and that when he first makes war against the king of Egypt, he shall straightway be frightened off by the assistance of the Romans. But these events were typically prefigured under Antiochus Epiphanes, so that this abominable king who persecuted God's people foreshadows the Antichrist, who is to persecute the people of Christ. And so there are many of our viewpoint who think that Domitius Nero was the Antichrist because of his outstanding savagery and depravity." (St. Jerome - Commentary on Daniel; notes on Daniel 11:27-30, -- BAKER BOOK HOUSE Grand Rapids 6, Michigan 1958)
Some will suggest that the book of Revelation was written only for those living at the time, and that 666 most probably applies to Cæsar Nero, who ruled Rome from 54 to 68 A.D., rather than someone from latter centuries. This point of view, which suggests Revelation had an immediate application to the first century, is known as preterism. So, just how is Nero linked to 666?
Preterists take Nero's name, Nero Cæsar and transliterates the Latin into Hebrew.  An "n" is added to conform with the Hebrew spelling and usage of Nero's name, in a manner similar to the Greek adding an "s" (i.e., Jeremias, Jonas, etc.).  Other names in scripture where the adding of an "n" may be seen are Abaddon, Apollyon, and Armageddon.  Once Hebraicized,  the Latin Nero Caesar becomes "nrwn qsr," which when using the numeric equivalent of the letters, then adds up to 666 as follows:
Nun
50
Resh
=
200
Waw
=
Nun
50
   Qoph
100
Samech
60
Resh
200
An example of this spelling has been recently discovered in one of the Dead Sea scrolls. If you use the same process, but without the added "n" the result is 616. Interestingly, some early manuscripts have 616 rather than 666, but even scholars such as Irenæus [A.D. 120-202] attribute the 616 to only a copyist error (Against Heresies: V, xxx) "this number [666] being found in all the most approved and ancient copies" [of the Apocalypse] and asserts that "men who saw John face to face bearing their testimony" [to it - 666].

What can we learn from the information given about the #laddiemp6 Octomore bottles without nosing and tasting them? This is an attempt by me to predict some of the notes I can expect based on the know how I currently have about the whisky making process.
The fun part would be that I write something in the blog that turns out, when tasting the drams on the 4th of May 2017, to be utter nonsense. That would spark some questions and it would make me learn!
Disclaimer: I haven’t a clue what these drams smell and taste like when I write this, but I want to test my knowledge and see if I can give it a fair snog. (<<<is that proper English?)
So what do I know about these Octomore’s? The Bruichladdich website gives some details on this dram which can be found here.
2010 Octomore cask – 4468
Distilled 2nd December 2010
60.4%,
Warehouse P2 L12,
Cask type – 2nd fill Rivesaltes (Hogshead)
I’m expecting Peat, Red Fruits, Nuts, Sweetness, all the standard Bruichladdich notes, but not yet Pineapple.
2003 Octomore cask – 0022,
Distilled 7th November 2003
59.2%,
Warehouse 12 B12,
Cask type – Ribera del Duero / Bourbon
I’m expecting Less Peat, Some Red fruit, dates, nuts, some vanilla, light oak, less sweetness, leather, clove and pineapple.
2010 Octomore cask – 4819,
Distilled 15th December 2010
62.2%,
Warehouse 14 13H,
Cask type – Fresh Bourbon
I’m expecting Big Peat, Wood smoke, Spice, Clove, Sharp, leather, fruitiness, saltines and the standard bruichladdich fruity / grassy / malty notes below that.

Ok, not lets find out what I can learn from doing a tad of research online into the casks types and the previous content.
Cask #4468
First up is Cask #4468, which was a 2nd fill Rivesaltes. Rivesaltes is a French fortified   wine from the Rouselion region of France.
Wikipedia quote:
Rivesaltes is an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée for naturally sweet, fortified wines (vin doux naturel) made in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region of France. They are similar to Muscat de Rivesaltes AOC wines, except the grape varieties are not restricted to Muscat. The wines are red or white, and made from Muscat, Grenache noir, Grenache blanc, Grenache gris, Macabeu and (rarely) Malvoisie grapes.
A grape from Portugal also has the name Rivesaltes, so this indication on the dram can also indicate a Portugese wine. lets presume that the French Fortified wine is meant. The notes that are found in Rivesantes are dependent in the type produced.
Ambré: An oxidative maturation of at least two years in barrels. Amber-colored wines with odours of nuts, almonds, roasted coffee and candied fruits.
Garnet or Rouge: The wine must be stored reductively for at least 12 months, of which three months on bottle. The young wine is deeply ruby red and has aromas of red fruits (bramble, raspberry, cherry and cassis).
Tuilé: Is stored oxidatively for two years. The orange-brown wines, often rancios, smells of roasted coffee, cocoa, tobacco and confectionery fruit.
Hors d’Age: Is a Ambré or Tuilé which is stored for a minimum of five years.
Rancio: With the elderly a wine can be named “Rancio”. It is therefore an extraxified wine, which is stored for some twenty years.
So I think I can expect some nuts, coffee, (red) fruits, cocoa and tobacco from the wine together with some oak that comes from the casks.
The vanilla and spice influences should be low depending in how long the first fill casking lasted. Is there some information to be found how long the previous fill was in the Rivesaltes cask? Actually thanks to the Transparency campaign by Compass Box and Bruichladdich we know Rivesaltes casks are used in the making of the Classic Laddie.
Classic Laddie 14/009
So we know that after 7 years in a 2nd Fill Sweet Red and White Hogshead the content was used. This does not give us to much information on how long it was filled at first fill though. I am guessing that the first maturation is shorter or equally long. Why am I saying that? The first fill gives more in less time, so if the second fill was good enough as a component part, the first fill was probably ok too at that age. Not very scientific I know ;)
We also know the John Evans’ Valinch was in a Rivesaltes Cask.
I found only one Tasting Note for this dram on Maltkanzlei facebook
Google Translated to English it reads: (sorry for the odd translation)
Quote:
The 24th single barrel from BRUICHLADDICH’s single Cask series, just like this year’s Feis Isle single Cask bottlings, is a Rivesaltes barrel. What else was Rivesaltes? In short, it is a strong, sprinkled, liqueur-like southern French sweet wine with a particularly high sugar content, regularly obtained from the extremely aromatic muscatel grape. Eye / nose: Golden apple juice. Handwarum is the malt and diligently breathed it also, the frame agrees. In the nose, I also notice the ‘John Evans’ first a Laddie’s rather unusual, youthful alcohol note. Ouch, that is powerful! Okay, 9 years maturity are not the world and he also has nearly 60% ABV, which must be tingling basically. Nevertheless, there are barrels in which the nose is still rounder under similar conditions. Regardless of the alcohol influences, malty sweetness and a certain fruitiness are unmistakable in the nose. Palate: “Rich and full with an exotic fruity note: grapefruit, papaya and mango. The sweetness is complemented by the intensity and power of this dessert wine.” Thus Rivesaltes is tasted in the net z.T. Described. And so it finds itself in the beginnings also in the whiskey again. Amazing potpourri with exotic hints. Very unusual for Bruichladdich, where in the new spirit you find more European fruits like apricots and mirabelles. The Rivesaltes converts the Brennereich character here interesting. I wonder if the fruit notes remind me of my exotic love of my hotly-liked old Bowmores or Glenglassaughs. Hmmmh … the wineiness of Laddie is very much different from the old heroes. But he is not bad. I feel it very much in waves. Sometimes great, sometimes more of medium kind and goodness. Finish / Conclusion: Amazingly long finish. Toward the end, the winey sweetness and fruitiness of the palate of an unexpected malice, somehow a bit bitter, reminds me of the wash at Laddie. Somehow crazy. Again a nice Valinch with interesting aromas, as it should be with a single Cask – if one likes just Rivesaltes. Otherwise I make it a bit difficult for me. Good, but not really outstanding whiskey among the crew Valinches.
Also a 2016 Feis Ile Bottle was matured in a Rivesaltes Cask. I find some notes on this dram on the whiskynotes.be site.
To quote the whiskynotes website.
Quite:
Bruichladdich 9 yo 2006 ‘Islay Grown’ (61%, OB – Feis Ile 2016, Chalice barley – Dunlossit Farm, Rivesaltes cask #3304, 410 btl., 50cl) Nose: very malty and slightly lactic, on porridge and breakfast cereals with milk. A custardy note, but without the overdose of vanilla. Quite a lot of fruity notes underneath, like peaches and ripe melon with drizzles of honey. Hints of wet hay and yellow flowers. A soft sea breeze as well. Not entirely my style.
Mouth: very sweet and fruity now, with a thick texture. Lots of apricots in syrup, or poached butter pears – really beautiful. Almost a pear liqueur, alongside the big malty notes. Some vanilla and candied ginger. Also a greener note, something zesty. Greengages. Butter pastry.
Finish: drier, woodier now and not too long. This one had some spectacular elements (due to the Rivesaltes maybe) and a few quirky sides, which makes it difficult to score. Around € 90.
There has actually been a Rivesaltes matured Bruichladdich before this cask. The Octomore 6 Year Old 2008 (cask 5716) – Rivesaltes Cask (Rest & Be Thankful) (70cl, 64.1%)
I haven’t been able to find any notes. Sorry ;)
Cask #0022
Cask #0022 is a Ribera del Duero / Bourbon cask. Another Octomore that also is a Ribera del Duero / Bourbon cask is the Octomore 07.3. Notes on this dram can be read on the Bruichladdich website and many blogs. Feel free to download the notes here.
The 07.3 is 5 yo and this much younger than Cask #0022. Cask #0022 is 13 years old and would therefor be more oaky, more red fruity, more nutty, more vanilla-like, more spicy and less peaty. Also Pineapple, tobacco and leather would come in from the standard Bruichladdich distillate.
Octomore 07.3
Cask #4819
I am not predicting anything on the last cask. Thats because I think this will be a good dram. Bruichladdich and First Fill Bourbon goes well together. It may just be resembling the Octomore Futures II – The Beast /167 . I could not tell personally but who knows, maybe someone can.
Octomore Futures II – The beast
So to summarise. I found a whole lot of “similar” drams.
2010 Octomore cask – 4468, could be like 2008 Octomore, Rest and Be Thankful
2003 Octomore cask – 0022, could be like Octomore 07.3, only far more mature
2010 Octomore cask – 4819, could be like Octomore Futures II – The Beast.
Who knows! I know one thing! The online tasting is going to be friggin amazin! I am really really really looking forward to comparing the second and last.

Isaiah 60 [North Bergen]

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

I talked a little on Isaiah 60- the things that ‘drive’ us. And how God has called us to be people without a worldly agenda. We shine as a city on a hill because we are different. Not strange- but different in that we seek first the kingdom of God. The video cut short at the end- as I was crossing the street close to where I stay. But hopefully you can still get something out of it.

NEW STUFF [past links- verses below]
The power of one-
In Genesis we read the story of Babel [verses below] - men came together in unity- and were going to build something [tower] that God did not want.
Yet- because of a common language- they could not be stopped- God himself said that.
Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
So- God confounded them- he gave them different languages in the midst of the project- and the tower project ceased.
Genesis 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Genesis 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
This is a type of the Power of One- the power we see in society when people come together with a common ideology- even if it is wrong.
Today we are dealing with radical Islam- Ok- we know the way they are attempting to accomplish their goal- is wrong.
Yet- we also see the western world- in a more subtle way- accomplish their goals- by siding with nations that are just as wicked as those we are killing.
These nations [Saudi Arabia being just one] murder homosexuals- treat women like dogs- yet
The U.S. sells them weapons- to kill innocent people.
This is happening in Yemen as I speak.
I could go on- but take my word for it- this too is a wicked thing.
Yet- because we have common alliances [unity] we too accomplish bad things.
But they are not as blatant as chopping heads off in the street- so- we think the ‘tower’ is a good thing.
In reality- it is not.
In Acts chapter 2- God himself restores a common language- thru the Spirt of God being poured out on the church.
Acts 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Acts 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Acts 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
This significance of this event is not simply the gift of Tongues [language]
But the purpose of God- thru his people- to sanctify A NOBLE UNITY.
The church speaks with one voice- we proclaim the gospel to the nations.
We stand as a light in a dark world- showing a more ‘perfect way’.
The gift of a restored language seen in Acts is God showing us that he himself speaks thru the church-
And his voice transcends all the ‘languages’ of man.
His voice thru the church is not political- it is not about ungodly alliances- it’s a show of love and great sacrifice thru the Cross.
We- the people of the living God- have climbed a different tower- we ascend to the presence of God thru the Cross.
51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.  John 1:51
The Cross brings humanity back to the Father.
We are a heavenly city- coming down from God out of heaven.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  Rev. 21:2
We walk the earth as followers of Christ-
We display the love of God by having a greater agenda- a kingdom agenda.
Yes- we speak out against injustices in the earth- on all sides.
And it is thru the Cross- thru the instrument that our Lord himself hung on- that we can unite-
And once again- the power of ‘one’ can overcome the darkness of this world.
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

NEW-
Once again- I talked about a lot of stuff on today’s video.
Paul teaches that the church is built ‘upon’ the foundation of the apostles and prophets- Jesus being the chief cornerstone-
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Yes- he is Lord of all-
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
James 2King James Version (KJV)
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
James 3:17
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
