Palouse Falls 15,000 years ago, glacial floods caused by occasional ruptures of an ice dam sculpted the landscape of Palouse Falls State Park in the state of Washington. Palouse Falls drops 60 meters (198 feet) into a canyon formed by immense floodwaters cutting through basalt. The Palouse River merges with the Snake River, which is the largest tributary of the Columbia River, about 6 km downstream from the falls. - RE Photo Credit: Andy Porter http://bit.ly/1Tjm1Ey

STAR TRAILS OVER ANNAGHKEEN CASTLE This image of the North star over Annaghkeen Castle and house, along the shores of Lough Corrib, Headford, Co Galway, Ireland was taken by Conor Ledwith. The Castle was built in the 12th century by the DeBurgo family and is thought to be the oldest example in Ireland of a castle built entirely from undressed stone
Ledwith used a Canon 5Dii and Canon 16-35 lens. Camera settings were Iso 3200, f2.8 and about twenty minutes of stacked thirty second exposures. . A torch on the outside of the building and a flash on the inside were used to light up the building. The resulting image is a total of 48 images stacked to give the star trail effect. -TEL Image: Conor Ledwith https://www.facebook.com/pages/Conor-Ledwith-Photography/508733612472051 http://500px.com/conorledwith (with permission)

“ 'Breath of the Seasons' has been my personal project from early 2017 until early 2020. Living around the Jutland peninsula in Denmark my entire life, what inspired me to make this film was the very difference between winter, spring, summer and autumn in the already diverse Jutlandic landscapes - and the visually beautiful story this has. To show this cycle in nature through timelapse photography has been a mammoth task and a huge completion for me personally. It has driven me through all spectres emotionally; exhaustion, excitement, despair, joy and everything in between. The countless hours spent on locations made me see and feel the difference of all four seasons. It opened my eyes to how similar nature actually is to humans; As nature takes a single breath all four seasons play before our eyes until she’s ready for the next breath and it all starts over again. Energy is everywhere and nothing is at a standstill. “

Look at all the Flamingos!
This is Lake Nakuru in Kenya. It is a small alkaline lake on the Southern edge of the town of Nakuru about 160 kilometers from Nairobi. Low salt levels and warm water temperatures encourages the growth of an abundance of algae - because of this a enormous gathering of pink flamingos, often more than a million, come to feed at the lake. Scientists reckon that about 250,000kg of algae per hectare is consumed by the flamingo population every year! Although the abundance of flamingos makes for good photography opportunities, they are not the only species found here. The lake is rich in other birdlife also. There are over 400 resident species on the lake and in the surrounding park.
