This is probably really obvious in hindsight but. The No Mercy route right? Correct me if I’m wrong but Alphys evacuates a lot of the underground to “somewhere else” (whatever that means) and. Presumably lives??? Idk where I’m going w/ this but I feel like that would obviously be really hard on her, having to leave her home as well as her close friends dying right? Like some sort of survivors guilt?
the implication there is that she evacuated and hid the survivors in the True Lab, which had the side effect of revealing the Amalgamates secret to everyone. She's still "home" though, technically. just a few feet under it lol.
i think there's definitely survivor guilt in there! but i like to think of it as something she learns to grow past quite fast. she makes a point in the phone-call that the evacuation experience catalyzed a LOT of character development for her, taking responsibility and action into her own hands. i think a growing confidence in her own decisions would naturally follow, as time passes and she gets used to being a ruler. she's crystal clear about OUR fault, OUR blame in everything that happened. i think she would channel most of her resentment and regret into us rather than herself, given time.
You guys know what is ever worse thanshipping a rarepair?
Shipping something thats canon between two beloved side characters but since almost everyone ships them they are always tagged in famfics and you barely can find anything where they are the main focus.
undyne is sooooo funny cause the entire game she's catastrophically down bad for this 4'9 reddit tgirl who's convinced she's unlovable so she'll openly call her cute to her face whenever they meet and dress her up in little outfits and call her to ask about the weather (they live in a cave) to no fucking avail and then crash on papyrus' couch to spew her romantic dyke woes to him only for HIM to be like "YEAH THIS IS A NORMAL BOSS-EMPLOYEE RAPPORT". 360 degrees of relationship hell with this woman. no wonder she's insane
