jealousy, jealousy
(Kakashi x Reader)
Summary: you're a crazy ass possessive yandere bitch who is jealous because your husband has too many "fans"
Words: a little over 2.5k
this story is unedited and also English is not my first language, so I'm sorry for any mistakes (if you have the time/patience I'd appreciate a lot if you told me what's incorrect).
still not comfortable writing fanfic, so it may be a lot out of character, and I'm sorry
this is a mess, please don't judge me
Tumblr media
You never knew you were the toxic girlfriend type; but, to be fair, you couldn't have known before. You never really cared for any of the guys you dated, you only used them for some oxytocin every now and then. In fact, the way your friends acted with their boyfriends annoyed you. All that insecurity, jealousy... You just couldn't understand.
Until you met him.
From the very first moment you set eyes on him on your best friend's birthday party on a Friday night your world turned upside down and you just needed to have him. Luckily he felt the same way about you. It was like a movie scene the first time you two saw each other, you forgot how to breath, the whole room just stopped and all you could see was him, slowly walking towards you, a sketchy smile under the mask that covered half his face, squinching his eyes, looking just like a prankish little boy.
He stopped, not too close, but not too far. Just enough for you to hear what he was saying above the loud music, but not enough for you to pretend you tripped onto something, falling right into his arms.
If only he was just a little closer...
"Have we met?" he asked.
His voice was husky, in the most sexy way, and you were already under his spell. There was no salvation. You had no idea who he was, or what was his name, but you knew, on that moment, that his name would come out of your lips a lot, in the dirtiest ways.
"No, but I'm so drunk that there's a possibility that we are not meeting now either, and you're just a product of my mind." you said, without thinking, putting the straw back in your mouth to stop you from saying stupid things again.
"Oh, you think I'm just a product of your mind? And why is that?"
"I mean... Just look at you!"
He laughed, a sound that you loved too much for your own good. It instantly became your favorite sound in the world. Well, maybe his moans would put his laugh in second place, because that voice...
"I'll take that as a compliment, thank you very much. I'm Kakashi, by the way."
"I'm Y/N."
You put the straw back into your lips, biting it. His eyes didn't miss that.
"Look, Y/N, I don't mean to be rude or an asshole, but if you keep biting this straw I might have to take you home with me." His voice was lower now, his hands in his pockets.
"Well, maybe, Kakashi, just maybe, that's what I want you to do. - you said, eyes on his, as if you were challenging him.
He looked at you as if he didn't think he heard you right, but you slid your tongue slowly through the straw and that was all it took. He took you by the hand and you spent the whole weekend together talking, laughing, eating and fucking. And God, he was good at it. He was too good for his own good.
You only left on Monday because you needed to go to work, and even then he dropped you off, lending you a shirt and a sweater so you didn't have to spend the whole day with what you were wearing on Friday night - and so you'd have a reason to see him again, because that was his favorite sweater.
From that day on you were never apart. It took him less than a week to convince you to move to his place, even if you didn't like millions of dogs around - well, they won you later, how could you resist? - and cherished your own space. It didn't matter. You wanted him all for yourself, 24/7, so putting up with all the dogs' barking was such a small price to pay. Plus, the dogs kept you company when he needed to leave on a mission, and one day you woke up to realize that those dogs were everything to you, specially when he was away. They were like little pieces of him, never letting you feel lonely or sad.
Three months later you were married. Yes, it was a surprise when he proposed, and you weren't sure, but he was so happy, so in love, you just couldn't say no. You didn't want to say no. You were scared, but he assured you it'd be fine. You were meant to be. You belonged together. You really did.
But it wasn't long until your insecurities came out. Actually, you had been hiding them since day one, because it was stupid, you had never felt like this. You shouldn't feel like this. But it was Kakashi, and he was your everything. And you understood, you really did. You understood all the girls that were all over him because, well, you were all over him. You are still all over him.
Well, maybe it was a mistake moving together so fast, maybe you should've get to known each other better... Maybe you shouldn't have married right away. Maybe, if you knew he had such a strong fanbase, you would just leave, give them space. But no... Now you had to deal with all the lovely notes in paper hearts, and pictures and cute little presents at your doorstep, specially from 18 year old girls who were once his students or friends with his students. Or basically that just saw him once in their lifetime. And that shouldn't concern you - I mean, were you really threatened by 18 year olds?
Yes. Yes, you were.
They were young, beautiful, those perfect bodies, all that stamina, and they just reached the perfect legal age and who wouldn't want to date a freaking 18 year old? You would dump yourself for a skinny 18 year old. Hell, you would even dump Kakashi for a 18 year old!
No. No, you wouldn't. That was stupid. Not even as a joke is it acceptable. You would never ever! Not even as a joke!
"Hello." He greeted you, kissing the back of your neck.
You took a little jump. That freaking Copy Nin, always so silent. Not even his dogs noticed his presence if he didn't want them to. You continued to scrub the pan because you burnt a fucking tapioca while trying to pretend you didn't care about all of this, and it was so hard to clean it that it would be easier to just throw the pan away and get a new one, probably with a non-stick coating, so you wouldn't have to go throught all this trouble again. But you liked your old pan. In fact, you loved it. You loved it so much that not even the most expensive and fanciest pan in the world could replace it. The freaking Papa could come to your house and give you a new pan saying that that was the only good pan in the world, if you used it you would go straight to Heaven and that it would make heavenly meals, you still would prefer the old one. GOD COULD SHOW UP AND GIVE YOU A PAN HE MADE JUST FOR YOU AND YOU WOULD STILL... Ok, I think you got it. We're not talking about pans.
"Hi." You replied, trying to sound indifferent, as if your heart wasn't burning in your chest.
"Was your day good?"
"Awesome."
"You were having so much fun you forgot your tapioca again?" his mouth was full of what you were able to save from said tapioca. He even ate your tapioca!
"Precisely."
"Good to know."
Scrub, scrub, scrub. Don't think, don't think, don't think. Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. Don't yell at him, it's not his fault.
"Is that pink package for me?"
"Well, it's not for me, I don't have any fans."
"I'm your fan."
-- Kakashi, don't even start. - you warned, pointing a finger full of foam at him.
He lick his finger tips, getting the package and opening it.
"Nice, a new wallet. I was needing one." He sounded happy, analysing the new wallet. He was fucking teasing you. He knew what he was doing, yet, he did it anyway.
"What do you mean? I don't take care of you? Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know you needed a new wallet, I thought you old one was just fine, hanging in there through all your shit! And why do you even need a new wallet anyway? You don't even carry your ID or whatever, you don't even carry money! You don't even carry your FUCKING PHONE! I could literally die and you wouldn't know because your phone is NEVER with you! I would have to ask for help to strangers, Kakashi, strangers! I would have to train to dogs to take me to the hospital because you wouldn't answer your phone!"
"They are already trained to take you to the hospital."
"Yeah, well, I'm taking them with me!"
"Ok," he said, tossing the fucking wallet aside "Now tell me what happened."
"YOU, that's what happened! You! You and your stupid fucking huge fanbase of whores!"
"Ok."
"Don't ok me! You know, you should just marry them, marry them all! They'll give you wallets, and masks, and their fucking young and skinny cunts!"
"Yeah, I should."
"And you can all just die or kill each other! With your wallets and bracelets and... You know what?" You tossed the pan on the sink, untying the apron. "I'm out. I'm gonna file the divorce, wait to hear from my lawyers! AND I'M TAKING THE FUCKING DOGS WITH ME!"
"Hey, hey, wait." he called softly, grabbing you by the arm and holding you. "Get it off your system, come on."
"I hate you! I hate you so much! And I hate them! I hope you all choke on these fucking presents and little notes and just have a painfully slow death!" you cried with your head on this chest.
"What else?"
"I hope you have babies who are so sick they won't survive, and then you will kill yourself because you're so sad your children died! And then the whores will kill themselves because you died!"
"Ok."
"No, I don't mean it... I hope the children are happy and healthy, but you and all your whores die because you are all horrible horrible people!"
"And what about the dogs? Do you they die? Even Pakkun? You Pakkun with his cute little paws to die?"
You pushed him with all your strength.
"Shut up! Don't try to be all cute and understanding, I HATE YOU! I'M TAKING THE DOGS!"
"You hate me because I'm... hot? I mean, if I have this huge fanbase I must be hot, right?"
You just couldn't believe your ears. Rage rose through your whole body and you got the now empty plate that was sitting on the table and threw at his head. He easily dodged it. I mean, he's a Jonin, come on.
"FUCK YOU, KAKASHI HATAKE! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU AND ALL YOUR NEXT GENERATIONS UNTIL YOU'RE ALL DEAD AND GONE!"
"I was thinking maybe you could fuck me." he said with a wink.
"Is this all a joke to you? GO TO HELL, HATAKE!"
"I love you, Mrs. Hatake, can I take you to hell with me?" You could hear a smile in his voice, he was having fun and you just couldn't stand it.
-- I HATE YOU!
You marched down to your bedroom grabbing the empty suitcase that was under the bed, getting all of the clothes you could grab in your hands and throwing inside it.
"Damned be the day I met you! I hate you! I hate you!" You kept saying while you threw things inside the suitcase.
It took Kakashi around 10 seconds to show up in the bedroom.
"You forgot that sweater" He pointed out when you were zipping the suitcase.
Your eyes went to the wardrobe, the only sweater there was his. His favorite sweater. The one he lent you 2 days after you met. The one you found out later he had bought two hours before the cold night of the party he met you, with money he found on the street. Because it meant lucky. He was cold, found the money, bought a sweater. Lent the sweater to you, because if he was lucky you would come back, you would see him again. And he was lucky. His favorite sweater. That it was yours now, since you were the only one who wore it, and he didn't need it anymore, since you were all the luck he ever wanted.
Your heart was burning with jealousy and hate and love, and tears were streaming down your face like waterfalls and you didn't know what to feel, and it was all too much.
"It'll look better on them anyway!" You said between hiccups, feeling pathetic and ridiculous.
Kakashi put his arms around you, your head on the crook of his neck, and kicked the suitcase to the ground to sit on the bed, shushing you until you'd stopped screaming and ugly crying.
"I hate you..." You still said after a while, but there was no more strength in your voice.
He kissed your forehead.
"I love you. I love you so much it physically hurts. You are my wife. I love you."
"I hope you choke when you are eating them out and then you all die."
Kakashi let out a delicious laugh to that and it enfuriated you that he had fun when you were suffering.
"You are so cute when you are jealous."
"And you'd be cute dead! I might just cut you into pieces and then eat the pieces so you would never ever leave."
"But I will never ever leave. Even if I'm not in pieces inside you. You need to understand this, woman. You are my wife, my everything. We've been married for years! I don't ever want to be apart from you, ever since the second I first saw you. I love you!"
"I love you too... But I also hate you and all these beautiful perfect girls."
"You are the only beautiful perfect girl I care about."
"Fuck you, stop lying to me."
His lips touched yours while his hand caressed the naked skin of your waist. He knew the battle was over for now, and he won. He always did.
"I may be a little possessive." you whispered, as if it was a secret.
"I've noticed." he whispered back, a playful smile on his lips.
"And a little crazy."
"I love that about you. You are so hot when you're all jealous and possessive."
"Is that why you tease me?" You asked, knowing the answer very well.
"Yes. I love that you love me so much it makes you irrational."
"This shouldn't amuse you, Kashi, it's fucked up. I'm fucked up."
"Everything you do amazes me. I love you. I love you. Forever."
"You won't find it so cute anymore when I have a knife in your stomach because I saw you talking to one of your beautiful fans."
"Good luck trying to stick a knife in my stomach, my love."
"I hate you! I'm not joking! I'm gonna kill you. If I ever EVER see you flirting with another woman I will kill you! I don't care you are a ninja. I'll get one of the dogs to kill you. Or them all!"
"And why are you going to kill me?"
"Because I love you. I love you so much I'm gonna kill you!"
Kakashi laughed again, and it would enfuriate you, but you were calmer now. He had this effect on you. And now that you were calmer you could see how the whole situation was ridiculous.
"That's what I thought" he said, smiling, kissing for hand.
You were wandering your fingers through his uncovered face, memorizing his features with your finger tips. He was so handsome sometimes it looked like a dream that someone like him could exist. It wasn't fair. And to think that you were the only one who saw him with his mask down was crazy. He shared his life with you. He shared everything with you. Even his toothpaste. That alone should be enough to keep you happy and sure of his love, but anxiety and your insecurities just kept getting in the way of your happy ever after. You didn't deserve it. No. Not you. And everyone knew it, that's why they looked twice at you when they saw you with him, and that's why the girls left little presents at your door step, hoping he would eventually wake up and realize what an ugly trainwreck you were. And you feared that day, because it had to come. It had. It's like being sure that the morning will come. You can close all the windows, turn off all the lights and pretend it's still night, but people will eventually realize it's morning. And Kakashi would wake up too. So you're better hold to this little piece of heaven you had while it lasted.
For now he was yours. For now.
"I love you." You just said, sitting in his lap, lips dangerously close to his. "You're mine, I love you. I love you." you kept repeating, hoping it would be enough to make him stay forever.
His hands were firm on your hips, keeping you exactly where he wanted you, letting you feel how hard he was, turned on by you being the possessive freak that you are. At least you had this. He was still attracted to you and to your ugly body. But that would go away too.
"Hmm... Now that I think about it I think you need to show me who I belong to, because I think I forgot." He whispered right into your lips, challenging you.
And the challenge was accepted, as it always was. The suitcase on the floor received a few more clothes, yours and his, and you spent the night showing each other just how strong your love was. And he made you feel like the most beautiful and loved woman in the whole wide world.

Yandere Yamato hcs or story please ♥️ Btw your work is amazing, keep it up!
I actually had to read this about three times before I realized that you meant Yamato from Naruto😶.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, overprotective behavior, obsessiveness
More Yamato Hc’s
Tumblr media
🪵One of the more sane and responsible Yanderes from Naruto to have. He is very well able to detect his rather bizarre and sinister feelings and manages to repress them quite well, he is pretty discreet after all. Be that with his jealousy, his urge to sometimes really kill someone or to lock his darling up, he almost never fails to be rational and cautious. Someone would have to push him quite a bit until he snaps enough to do something.
🪵He mostly goes with intimidation and threats if he is not able to solve it normally with someone the polite way which shouldn’t happen too often. Yamato honestly prefers the polite way, however, when being faced with a rather impolite and disrespectful person he does not really see the reason why he should be polite either and simply drops that act. He might use a more comedic way to intimidate others like he does with Naruto, but he can be different as well and that is when he truly does turn terrifying. It leads others to realize that they have never truly faced of with Yamato’s real ways of intimidating someone.
🪵Talking about Naruto, he never stops teasing the poor man about his relationship with you nor do Sakura, Kakashi or Sai. It’s their way of showing him that they’re happy for him, knowing that he had a rather rough life and deserves to be happy. It’s quite the mess to deal with and it sometimes just causes Yamato to be a bit overwhelmed, but he knows they mean well. His darling and the whole team 7 are friends the one or another way and not a single one of them misses the chance to sometimes embarrass him a bit in front of the s/o by telling them a few funny stories of him. Always makes him instantly spit out excuses to why he and his darling have to leave. He always drags them out as quickly as possible, not wanting them to hear what he knew his friends were about to say.
🪵Considering that he has been working his whole life at first for Danzo and then for the Hokage, he actually knows little to nothing about dating and it makes him a bit nervous. So sometimes he kind of searches for some dating advice. Sai probably tells him what the books of his say without Yamato even asking, but he knows better than to ask Sai for advice. Kakashi might help him from time to time, but he clearly states that he doesn’t have much experience with dating either and since Yamato knows what that guy reads, he thinks he shouldn’t ask too often.
🪵Naruto and Sakura on the other hand are both ready to help him and they actually really do help him, especially Sakura who often also pulls Ino into all of this and the girls get excited together for helping him preparing gifts or dates. They don’t include Naruto too much since he sometimes suggests ideas that are rather questionable, but the boy can be very creative and thoughtful as well which is why he has his sudden great ideas as well. Ino never interacted with Yamato too much, but she works in the flower shop and over time Yamato becomes a regular visitor and she definitely has small talks with him about how his dating life goes.
🪵Given his past and all the things he has gone through, Yamato is on the protective side, even though his case is not as bad as Kakashi’s is. It of course also depends on who you are. If you are an ordinary civilian with little to no knowledge how to fight, be will definitely be more careful and protective as when you are a jonin because you certainly didn’t earn this title for nothing. If his darling is a shinobi he completely trusts them to be able to handle themselves, though he would be concerned if they have a similar mindset to that of Naruto, meaning to attack first without thinking and being more reckless.
🪵He has expressed interest in architecture which is why he creates a house for him and his darling once they decide to live together. Since his hobby is reading books about architecture he has quite a lot of ideas, even though he lets his darling decide some parts on this as well. He has this scenario saved for when he has married his darling though. Yes, he does wish to marry his s/o when the time is right and he kind of takes his time because despite being a more stoic individual, proposing takes him a bit courage since he is nervous about it.

THE GREAT CRUNCHYROLL NARUTO REWATCH Hunts a Rogue Shinobi in Episodes 106-112!
Welcome to the Great Crunchyroll Naruto Rewatch! I'm Paul Chapman, and I'll be your host this week as we make our way through all 220 episodes of the original Naruto. Last week, we covered Episodes 99 - 105, where Tsunade faced the first challenge to her authority as Fifth Hokage and Team 7 took a mission to the Land of Tea. We continue this week with Episodes 106 – 122 and the conclusion to the Land of Tea arc, as well as some shocking shake-ups for the youth of Hidden Leaf Village.
This batch of episodes was an emotional roller coaster, and we witnessed Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry boil over into a deadly duel, Sasuke decide to abandon Hidden Leaf Village in order to seek power from the villainous Orochimaru, and Sakura confess her love in an effort to convince Sasuke to stay! (Also, some dude won a footrace in the Land of Filler.) It was a heck of a ride.
Now, let's see what the Crunchyroll Features team thought of this week's episodes!
How do you feel about the conclusion to the Land of Tea arc? Does the fact that the local daimyo was already gathering intelligence to dethrone the wicked Wagarashi Family downplay the accomplishments of Team 7 in their efforts to help Idate win the foot race?
Kevin: Hooray, it’s done! Now back to the actual plot. Honestly, I cared so little by the end of the arc that I barely even registered that the lord did anything beyond making a counter excuse to ensure the good guys won.
Joseph: The final episode of this was probably the best one, and not just because it marked the ending of a pretty dull arc. With that said, I’m with Kevin in that I clearly didn’t think deeply enough about the resolution and how it affected the efforts of Team 7!
David: I recognized that and it didn’t bother me at all. The reason being, this last episode had an unexpected payoff for me: we finally get to see the kids overcoming an enemy and achieving their mission without something going horrifically wrong requiring the older, stronger ninjas to step in. Silver linings.
Jared: I don’t think it takes away from what Team 7 does as they were still able to outsmart and defeat a powerful foe. The lord was just a stickler for the non-rules and had to make sure that a made up deal wasn’t enacted. Even without that, I don’t think what Team 7 had done would’ve dethroned that family anyways, so it makes sense to have the lord come in and kick them to the curb for good.
Danni: Honestly I just walked away from that arc thinking it was funny they had to make Sasuke get injured so that the next arc could still pick up with him in the hospital.
Noelle: I didn’t really feel it. I understand what the arc was trying to pull off, but I still didn’t have much of an investment in it to get an emotional reaction in the first place? It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t do too much for me.
Kara: I was kind of ambivalent about it. I didn’t hate it, but it didn’t get me as jazzed to watch each day as other episodes have. And now with Danni’s comment on re-injuring Sasuke, it’s just funny.
Carolyn: I’m of the camp that was just glad to see the arc end. It was a little odd to end the whole thing with a race, that felt almost anti-climactic.
The hospital roof confrontation between Naruto and Sasuke was pretty spectacular. Were there any specific details about the fight that you found especially thrilling? How do you feel about the fight’s resolution?
Kevin: The conclusion of the fight, specifically seeing the damage that Rasengan and Chidori did to the water towers is one of the images that I remember whenever I think about Naruto. As for the fight, I found that it was amazing on paper, and okay in practice. The choreography seemed a bit off, like trying to translate the manga panels to animation revealed some continuity errors or something, but when the fight was good, it was great.
Joseph: This is such a pivotal fight, and I loved all the raw emotion conveyed through it. Beyond the battle itself, that moment when Sasuke feels victorious only to see how the Rasengan would have basically torn his body asunder is *chef’s kiss*.
David: I agree with Kevin about the fight itself. Watching Sasuke somehow hold his own against a whole bunch of shadow clones is cool, and I’m always down for the hand-to-hand combat in this series, but the execution was messy. The conclusion, of course, is wonderful and incredibly important, and the good moments are great, so it’s not like I’m down on the whole thing.
Jared: The fight does a good job of showcasing just how much powerful both Sasuke and Naruto have gotten in the past 100 episodes, especially by the end. I think it also did a good job of showing Sasuke’s jealousy coming through fully as the fight continued. Having it be interrupted and leaving it unresolved isn’t bad, since you know they’ll have some huge fight sometime in the near future.
Danni: The visual execution left a little to be desired, but I liked seeing Sasuke’s taijutsu prowess up against Naruto’s barrage of shadow clones. The tension between the two was portrayed really well, and the conclusion with the water tower was the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to see these two have it out for real.
Noelle: I loved it. Overall, it’s pretty short, and it could’ve gone better, but I think that what it sets up was really, really good. The two of them may be friendly, but here they were completely out to destroy each other, and that meltdown was something I enjoyed.
Kara: I think the reasons behind the fight were what got me going even more than the fight itself. We had all this time of Naruto feeling like he was stuck in Sasuke’s shadow—like literal months of that, both in-show and in the show’s pacing. Then we flip the script and Sasuke gets a taste of that, and it’s interesting to see how he takes it. Granted, he’s got that paired with a long-standing vendetta, so there are mitigating factors as to how hard he takes it. But their very different reasons beyond wanting to fight were not lost on me.
Carolyn: I think my main quibble was with the way they prompted the fight in the first place. There didn’t seem to be much of a valid reason for Naruto and Sasuke to end up there. But once they got going, I thought it worked out fine.
In the past we've criticized how Kishimoto treats his lady characters, but it's worth exploring how the physical prowess of characters like Naruto and Sasuke is contrasted against Sakura's moral fortitude and emotional strength. How do you feel about Sakura's evolution from a selfish brat into the conscience of Team 7?
Kevin: Sakura easily has the most emotional development of the three, but I really wish that she was given more to work with. Basically keep everything the same, but have her be the one to directly intervene in the fight (like Kakashi did) instead of running herself into danger and all of the emotional weight is still there, but the audience also gets to see that she is on the boys’ level, just in a different way.
Joseph: Yeah, it might have been better to have her stop them rather than run out as a potential casualty of the fight, but I don’t think there was any way for anyone other than a character at Kakashi’s level to successfully intervene. Sakura’s emotional moments are some of the most powerful here, though, and I love the interaction between her and Naruto when he promises to get Sasuke back. There’s a mix of sorrow, gratitude, and frustration at the fact that she can’t do it herself.
David: The scene where Sakura tries one last time to stop Sasuke from leaving is still one of my favorites in any anime. She really has gained a lot from their misadventures together, and it’s soul crushing to watch her desperately attempt to keep their dysfunctional little family together. So I guess the answer is, yeah, I am pretty on board with Sakura’s arc so far. She’s changed a lot, for the better.
Jared: I was honestly expecting her to get hit at the end when Naruto and Sasuke were going at each other with their respective attacks as she ran to stop it. She definitely is trying to keep the group together, but there’s still so much more you could do with her character, but she gets constantly pushed to the sidelines.
Danni: I’m glad to see her grow emotionally, but really all it translates into is her crying and needing someone else to step in and do what she can’t. She deserves better than just being Team 7’s den mother.
Noelle: While I do appreciate the development that Sakura has, it still isn’t really enough. For one of the protagonists, it sets her up to be sidelined once again, to cry over the boys, and that’s a real shame! She has a lot of potential here, and it’s a huge emotional burden for her to take, but instead of exploring that, Kishimoto falls flat. Sakura really does deserve better than this!
Kara: It’s another version of what I call the Super Robot Wars Effect. Games I love very much, but that have a tendency (with exceptions like Gunbuster) to cast female-piloted units almost exclusively as healers. It falls to the woman to be the “healer” for the men, which is a very traditional storytelling mechanism and not inherently awful in and of itself—I have occasionally seen it done well. But Naruto as a whole kind of has this underlying idea of like. Boy ninjas are for these things, kunoichi are for those things, which only surfaces once you’ve forgotten that it was there the last time. I have no problem with Sakura being Team 7’s conscience, since God knows they need one, but I’d prefer a more “tough love” approach.
Carolyn: I wasn’t very happy with Sakura’s pleas to Sasuke, to be honest. It felt so desperate. She’s been pining over him the entire series and now she’s just outright begging a boy to stay with her. I understand this scene is bigger than just her crush, but it was pretty disheartening to see her cry and beg just for Sasuke to call her annoying … and then thank her! Kind of emotionally manipulative, that.
Charismatic villains such as Orochimaru and Itachi often sprinkle grains of truth in their evil schemes, and Sasuke's thirst for revenge does seem incompatible with the values of the Hidden Leaf Village. What are your thoughts on Sasuke's heel turn? Are you excited to see him take on an antagonistic role?
Kevin: Without spoiling anything: I really like how they set up Sasuke as a villain, and will have many things to talk about when we get much later in the Rewatch.
Joseph: This and the arc it kicks off is my favorite part of the 70 or so percent of Naruto I’ve read. Sasuke’s turn has been a long time coming, and it seems like the most logical step for the character. I can’t wait!
David: Considering literally everything he has said or done has essentially been setup for this, yeah, I’m excited for it to finally pay off.
Jared: It feels strange to think that we’re over 100 episodes in and I still kind of felt like it could’ve happened a bit later, but Sasuke turning heel was gonna happen eventually. I’m more curious to see just how he handles that new role and whether it’s just going to be him consumed with jealousy and revenge or with we start to see a new sinister side to him emerge.
Danni: I’ve been waiting for Sasuke to go full Vegeta, and am thrilled with where this is going. I especially liked that it wasn’t so much a full heel turn as it was a real conflict brewing inside him. It really did hurt him to leave Team 7 behind, I thought.
Noelle: No spoilers from me, but this had definitely been in the works for a while. It still is upsetting, but mm, it does have its payoffs.
Kara: This was absolutely coming. I came into this knowing minimal stuff about the series as a whole, but there was no way Sasuke was going to not go Dark Side on us. Heel turns are a personal fave of mine in stories (see also: Sailor Mercury in live-action Sailor Moon), so I’m excited.
Carolyn: I also love when good guys turn bad, even for a little bit. I feel like it’s somewhat more realistic than the perfect, never-faltering hero.
I was surprised when Shikamaru was the sole applicant elevated to Chunin status, but his actions as the head of the Sasuke retrieval squad demonstrate that his leadership and problem-solving skills are a cut above his peers. What qualities do you think separate the Chunin from the Genin, and who do you want to see promoted next?
Kevin: They actually touched on that back during the Chunin Exam. Shikamaru was better than everyone else because he was able to correctly evaluate the situation he was in, even during combat, and realized his own limitations. By that metric, probably Sakura or potentially Neji would be the next to be promoted.
Joseph: I suppose the exact qualities demonstrated during episode 112 are what separate the Chunin from the Genin. I love Shikamaru’s balance of extremely capable and extremely bothered to be doing anything, which in some cases is definitely a front.
David: Comparing Shikamaru to every other member of his ragtag Sasuke retrieval team, the difference in temperament and patience is very clear. I thought most of his choices when Tsunade asked him to put a squad together were bizarre and felt more like plot necessities, but when he explained their formation it went together so well I couldn’t complain. Later when they are stuck in the rock igloo, I found most of the episode to be kind of dull, then Neji explained how every action and order Shikamaru gave were part of a careful plan to figure out how to get out, and it ended up being incredibly satisfying. I remembered Shikamaru being the ‘smart tactics guy’, but I definitely wasn’t expecting to be reminded of stuff like Legend of the Galactic Heroes while watching him do his thing. As for promotions, Neji is definitely the strongest genin right now, but he can be hot-headed in his own way which is probably the main thing holding him back.
Jared: It really seems like having the ability to think under pressure is gonna separate your traditional Genin from a Chunin. Shikamaru clearly demonstrates that when the group gets trapped and also with how he’s able to come up with an opening strategy before they leave. I’m assuming at some point we’re gonna see Naruto get his promotion since he’s already done things that would put him on that kind of level in terms of fights.
Danni: Shikamaru’s level-headedness and intellect really seem to be his greatest assets as a Chunin. Obviously Chunin are in command of any Genin working underneath them, so the ability to lead and strategize is a must that few of the other Genin seem to share. I assume Naruto will be promoted next for plot reasons, but the most logical promotions I can think of are Shino and Neji.
Noelle: As you’ve said, strategy is definitely key. The exams were designed to test people on more than just combat, and Shikamaru seems to have been the only real choice that had qualifications beyond that. Leadership, for sure, but also analysis, being able to keep your cool in a drastic situation, and putting the needs of the mission over yourself. As my colleagues said, Neji seems like a good candidate, as long as he cools off a little.
Kara: Shikamaru knows what he’s doing and acts like he can’t be bothered, which is a downright diabolical combination. He had us fooled for the first several episodes, too! Along with what everyone else said, I think what he has going for him is that he’s (at least for now) the one with the least emotional baggage. Compared to people like Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara, who are all still motivated by personal issues, Shikamaru can focus up on the task at hand and isn’t bringing anything personal into the mission. That’s valuable for a leader.
Carolyn: I think part of the reason Shikamaru seems lazy and bored is simply that he’s thinking so far ahead of everyone else. He’s just sitting around waiting for everyone else to catch up with him. I think Sakura would make a great choice, given her own intellect. Naruto definitely deserves some recognition for his incredibly fast learning ability.
And finally, what are you personal high points and low points for this batch of episodes?
Kevin: High - Sasuke in the hospital. Admittedly, this high point is a bit more of a “what could have been,” but seeing Sasuke trying to come to terms with simply not being good enough, and comparing himself to Naruto, was honestly far more compelling than I thought it would be. In another world, the depression and inferiority he was feeling might’ve turned into character motivation and development later. Instead… we’ll get to that. Low - Lee’s recovery. Lee deciding whether to go into surgery or not was quite possibly the single heaviest emotional side plot in the show. Then, over the course of an episode or two, through two or three scenes, Lee says that he’ll take the chance, then next time we see him he’s with Neji, who’s congratulating him and talking about when he’ll get back to training. Welp, so much for that tension and emotional resolution.
Joseph: High - The resolution of the battle between Naruto and Sasuke and the moment Sasuke makes his own mind up to leave the village and acts upon it. Low - I don’t know, I guess the end of the Land of Tea story? Aside from that these episodes are all pretty spectacular.
David: As I said earlier, the scene between Sakura and Sasuke as he is leaving the village is one of my favorites in anything, so that’s definitely my high. I’ll also give an honorary mention to when Naruto assures a crying Sakura that everything will be OK, giving a thumbs up, which then reminds Lee of Guy, inspiring his trust indirectly as well. It’s one of those great scenes that show Naruto’s latent leadership abilities, and I didn’t get to bring it up elsewhere, so here it is. Low point is the first episode of this batch, not that it was actually bad or anything, but being the conclusion to a subpar arc just pales in comparison to everything else going on here.
Jared: High point would be finally getting see what Sasuke and Naruto could potentially do in a fight with the tease of what that fight will ultimately end up being. Sasuke’s heel turn was also good. Naruto putting on a brave face for Sakura and pushing away his own feelings was really well done. Low point was the non-surprise that Shikamaru makes his babyface team and it’s just dudes after his misogyny rant a few weeks back.
Danni: The low point for me was all the nonsense about the curse mark and its phases. The more logic and details they try to add for how it works the less sense it makes. The high point for me was most certainly Kakashi’s final words to Sasuke. I realized that we still know surprisingly little about Kakashi, despite him being one of the show’s most interesting characters. I’m looking forward to finally learning his backstory and what makes him tick. Runner up goes to Shikamaru’s encouragement of and faith in Choji. It’s nice seeing him get some respect for once. Runner runner up was Shikamaru standing up for all the curvy wife guys out there.
Noelle: High point, Naruto and Sasuke dropping the act and having a giant brawl. Short but sweet. The emotional breakdown in that portion was honestly so satisfying . Low point, I’d have to say the filler arc, because Sasuke leaving the village was really emotionally charged, and contrasted greatly from the filler.
Kara: High point is absolutely Sasuke’s Heel Turn. You know he’s all in when a bunch of strangers go, “Don’t worry, we won’t kill you, we’ll let you only kinda die, trust us, we work for Orochimaru,” and he’s like “Seems legit.” I’m excited to see where this goes. Low point was probably the Land of Tea resolution being this kind of comedy of errors thing. “Hey, that’s illegal! You’re disqualified!” “It’s not illegal, and also we knew you guys were up to no good!” Eh. Glad to see the end of the Land of Tea.
Carolyn: I mean, anything with Rock Lee is great. But Rock Lee overcoming adversity is especially sweet. I think my low point would have to be the Land of Tea conclusion or Sasuke’s reaction to Sakura trying to get him to stay.

Hello! I need to catch up on Naruto and I would like to know since you are a fan of Sasuke why do you like his character ? I often think Sasuke is misunderstood by a lot of people, myself I have sometimes a hard time understanding him but I find him interesting ! Hope this question don't bother you, have a good day! :)
Hi! Don’t worry, your question doesn’t bother me at all! My reply is under the readmore. I’m sorry that it got so gigantic! It almost turned into a novel lol. It also may contain mild spoilers so please proceed with caution :)
One of the reasons I like him is because he’s human. Sasuke went through extreme trauma and mental torture at the age of 9, received absolutely no treatment or therapy for it, and was sent to live by himself in the same house his parents were murdered in. He didn’t get any help to deal with his trauma as he grew up. Would a normal human be able to get over such a thing simply because they found friends? to me the fact that Sasuke still suffers and is so affected by his trauma is what makes him realistic. He always needs to rely on a big life goal, put all of his thoughts and efforts into it, whether it’s revenge or justice or redemption, because if he doesn’t have one, it would be just him and his trauma to focus on, and would anyone be able to actually live like that? To me it’s amazing that Sasuke was even able to go on living by himself, to go to school and study and even find emotional attachment to people, protect them and sacrifice himself for them.
In general, most humans aren’t simply good or bad. The majority of us can be kind and generous while still being mean and selfish at times. We can be strong and still have moments of absolute weakness. The majority of us struggle with our mental illnesses and don’t just “get over it”, especially without any help. Sasuke is kind and selfless; he sacrificed himself for Naruto during the Haku fight, was ready to sacrifice himself again to save Naruto and Sakura during the Gaara fight, during the chuunin exams Kabuto pointed out how soft he was because he refused to attack him to get his scroll despite the fact that that’s what the exam required of him, in early shippuden he refused to kill anyone and ordered Taka not to kill, he learned how to extinguish the Amaterasu flames in order to save Karin, he threw himself in front of Sarada to protect her, he gave up on a peaceful life for himself for the sake of protecting their hard-earned world peace. But he also had times when he could be mean and selfish, when the pressure and the sadness were just too much, when he didn’t know how to deal with the trauma and the lies and the shock. And to me that’s a character that I can support, not because I think his mistakes were justified but because he’s not a messiah, he actually has to struggle with himself and his flaws, he has to fight against his trauma and his mental illnesses, which is what most humans are like instead of simply being wise and strong and flawless from the start.
What people fail to understand about Sasuke is that he’s a good person; that’s exactly the reason why his cruelty during the Gokage meeting arc was so shocking to every character in the story, because it was there to show that he wasn’t himself anymore; that’s exactly why the explanation of the “Uchiha curse” exists; and yet for some reason people tend to take that as being Sasuke’s actual personality, despite the fact that the manga had shown him in his normal state before, that we had actually gotten to see his gradual fall into darkness and his reason for it.
I like how Sasuke tends to be silent and distant on the outside but soft and kind on the inside. It’s thanks to him that team 7 gets accepted by Kakashi in the first place, because he decides to feed Naruto even though he was told not to. When he hears that Itachi is in the village, the first thing he worries about is Naruto’s safety, not his own safety or his own goals. He notices when Sakura is feeling down and comforts her by praising her abilities. He rarely ever expresses his feelings in words but he shows them with his actions; by sacrificing himself for someone, by protecting them, by showing pride towards their accomplishments, by gestures like the forehead poke. You’ll rarely find him saying cheesy things but if he cares about you and loves you, you’ll know. On the inside, he loves intensely. (Btw, how cute is it that he feeds cats and makes friends with them during his travels?)
Another thing I like about Sasuke is his extreme love and loyalty towards his family. Maybe it’s because I’ve been raised in a culture where family is always the most important, but I can’t help but appreciate how none of the things he did throughout the series were for himself, but for his family. People think Sasuke is disloyal because he “betrayed” Konoha but the truth is, Sasuke’s loyalty was never with Konoha to begin with, from the start it was always about family, he wanted to be acknowledged by his father, he wanted to join the Uchiha police force. He loved his mother and brother so much, cared about his father’s impression of him, was so proud of his family. And every single thing he wanted to do throughout the series was for them, wanting to avenge them, restore their honor, protect Konoha for Itachi’s sake. The fact that Sasuke and the rest of the Uchiha saw “the Uchiha” and “Konoha” as two separate entities and were only loyal to one of those was a result of Konoha’s own choice to alienate the Uchiha; you can’t treat a group of people like shit and then expect them to somehow love you and be loyal to you.
Sasuke doesn’t fit any generic shounen character type. His character is complex. He starts off as the typical rival but soon his character goes its own way. He has his own goals, his own path in life, his own relationships and his story doesn’t revolve around the main character or catching up to him. In fact it’s the opposite, it’s Naruto whose story mostly revolves around Sasuke. He’s one of the characters who makes this story unpredictable and interesting. Because let’s be real, the plot of Naruto is rather predictable. Naruto meets villain, Naruto has training arc or gets a powerup, Naruto defeats villain, rince and repeat until he becomes Hokage. Even one of the biggest “mysteries” of the series, Tobi’s identity, was predicted by everyone after his very first appearance. Throughout all of this it’s Sasuke who keeps the story interesting, because you’re never really sure what he’s gonna do, how he’s gonna react to things, where he’s gonna end up. That’s the reason why he was/is often the main subject of discussion even among people who don’t like him. Even up until the very end some people were saying he was gonna come back and become anbu, some were saying he would leave with taka, some thought he would die. No one could really guess where he would end up, whereas with other characters things were much more easy to predict.
I like Sasuke because I actually stop to look at things from his point of view as well; I know it’s hard to do so when the narrative always presents things from Naruto and Sakura’s side. It’s easy to just look at the surface and say: Sasuke made Naruto and Sakura sad, therefore he is bad. But when I look at things from Sasuke’s point of view, I understand all of the things he does, and I realize the choices he makes are often the most realistic considering his situation.
Let’s start from the very beginning. A lot of people hate Sasuke because they think he “treated Naruto like shit” throughout part one. But if you actually take the time to read the manga, who was the one who showed contempt towards the other first? It was Naruto. He hates Sasuke because he’s popular and Sakura likes him. This is established from the very beginning. The accidental kiss happened because Naruto tried to provoke Sasuke as a result of his jealousy. Naruto was the one who attacked Sasuke first—tied him up and tried to kiss Sakura while posing as him. And yet only minutes after that Sasuke still chose to defend him against Sakura. Throughout the rest of part one Sasuke and Naruto do bicker and fight a lot, but all of those fights and insults are two-sided and yet for some reason I only ever see people focus on Sasuke’s side.
It’s the same with all of the more serious fights between them. The majority of them were actually started by Naruto. People claim that Sasuke mistreated and/or abused Naruto and Sakura; but the truth is, if Sakura and Naruto hadn’t chased after Sasuke, Sasuke wouldn’t have even met any of them between chapter 180 and 631. That’s the space between when he left Konoha and when he joined the war. That’s more than 450 chapters. Naruto is the one who started the first big Nar/Sas fight. He chased after Sasuke and told him he’d “break his arms and legs and bring him back like a broken stick” if he had to. The fight against team Kakashi in Orochimaru’s lair happened because they chased after him and tried to bring him back. The fight in the Gokage meeting arc happened because Sakura chased after Sasuke and tried to kill him by herself. Sasuke simply left and made it clear to them that he had severed their bonds; they’re the ones who went after him. You can’t be an abuser when you don’t even want a relationship with your so-called victims. Every single time, he was either rejecting them and/or retaliating against their own attacks. Am I saying they shouldn’t have tried to stop him even when he was a criminal? No, but people shouldn’t pretend that Sasuke was specifically going after Sakura and Naruto to hurt or “abuse” them, when they’re the ones who chased after him. He was an enemy of Konoha because the village had murdered his family in cold blood. It’s not about “abuse” or Sakura and Naruto’s feelings.
And it’s easy to only consider their feelings in this situation; oh, they loved him and wanted to save him but he rejected them, he’s such an ass. But the truth is Sasuke doesn’t have to go back to the village that killed off his family, made him miserable and offered him no support as a childjust to make them happy. He doesn’t have to put their feelings before his own. He doesn’t have to put them, teammates that he had been with for a few months at most, over his family that raised him for 9 years. People are allowed to reject relationships they don’t want. Yes, rejection hurts, but it doesn’t automatically make the person who rejected you an asshole.
It’s easy to judge Sasuke for his decisions without paying attention to the circumstances that caused him to make them. “He betrayed his friends and left Konoha”— even though he had just had the shit beaten out of him by his brother, had been mentally tortured for days within a genjutsu, had been told he was weak because he didn’t have enough hate. People just expect a twelve-year-old to deal with it and move on.“He flip-flopped too much”—despite the fact that he had had his entire world turned upside down because he had been told that his whole life was a lie, his abusive brother loved him all along and it was Konoha who had caused his misery. I don’t know how or why people expect someone to just stay strong while being put through all of that.
I have a lot of issues with the series itself and the morals it tries to convey. For example, the series tries to pit “talent” and “hard work” against each other; Kishimoto seems to think that talented people don’t work hard or that they are somehow assholes by default (it’s also hypocritical because later on we find out Naruto himself actually had a lot of natural talents and advantages as well). I see a lot of people make arguments such as “Sasuke had everything handed to him while Naruto worked hard”. They ignore how hard Sasuke worked to learn the fireball jutsu and the Chidori, or how he trained with Orochimaru for three years, they also ignore that Naruto was able to learn the Rasenshuriken with minimal effort because of his naturally high chakra reserves or that almost the entirety of his power as an adult relies on Kurama, something that was given to him at birth. They ignore that everytime Sasuke got a free powerup Naruto got one too.
I also hate how the series tries to portray Sasuke and anyone else who wants reform or justice as a villain. Kishimoto thinks status quo > reform. It doesn’t matter if keeping the status quo means sweeping genocides under the rug, trampling on the rights of smaller villages with less power, ignoring the discrimination happening within clans. As long as “the village” is still standing, everything is okay. Don’t try to fix anything. Accept the “darkness” of the village. I come from a country with a dictatorship, so it’s much easier for me to understand Sasuke who wanted change rather than Konoha and their obsession with keeping everything as is. Yes, Sasuke’s method of fixing things was wrong, but people forget that this boy’s role model was Itachi, the one who thought the best way to protect a little kid was to torture him and tell him to live with hate, and it’s not like anybody actually condemned those actions. Everyone who knew the truth about Itachi thought he was the wisest person in history—the fandom does as well. And yet people are surprised when Sasuke thinks the best way to fix the system is through making people hate him. Only then does the fandom start talking about how “Sasuke should’ve learned from Itachi’s mistakes”, despite the fact that every other time they deny Itachi even made mistakes. The fact that Sasuke is ready to live a life of misery where everyone hates him is proof of how selfless he is, because yes it’s a misguided decision but it’s not a pleasant one, it’s not something he’s doing for himself. In the end instead of finding a better way to fix the system, Naruto just decides to keep the status quo.
Of course I like his design and abilities as well. I mean let’s be real, the duckbutt is almost iconic at this point, lol. Sasuke has the most interesting fighting style, the swordplay combined with the fire and the way he evolved Kakashi’s Chidori into so many different weapons. Not to mention his switcheroo ability after he gets the rinnegan. In my opinion he also gets the most interesting fights as well, Sasuke vs Deidara is still one of my favorites.
Anyways I’m sorry that this post got so long. This is why I never write character analysis, I tend to ramble way too much lol. Hope you have a nice day and thanks for the ask!

will you consider writing more dark narusasu fics in the future? like set in a totally different au, or maybe doesn’t necessarily have to be post 699, whatever goes really.. i’m a sucker for anything dark narusasu 🥲 i love of feather and fangs and its sequel, i reread it like 4 times already ! there aren’t a lot of abusive n*ruto fics out there , what a shame cuz the naruto with a jesus complex fics are boring as hell!
Tumblr media
Thanks for your interest and my personal praise for your good taste Anon, in liking darkfics, especially in these boring times where everyone wants healthy wholesome fics (ugh I hate this word for fiction so much. maybe because I learn these english words in the fandom). I so agree, fics with selfless good boy Nar are boring af, not to mention ooc, cause he's not like that lol.
I'm currently on a hiatus even from To Repair With Gold because of real life, I loved writing OFAF and I love writing its sequel so I want to be completely focused when I work on it, so until I finish other stuff I think I won't get back to it, so it will have all my attention to make it as dark and hot as I planned it.
As for other fics/AUs, uhh I'm not that inspired, I mean, I find more interesting canon Nar because he's darker, his past influenced his and made his possessive/obsessive nature possible, and the ending, the popularity he obtained, together with the bad reputation/hate Sas gained in the same moment, create a combination that is perfect for darkfics. So I should come up with an AU where conditions are similar, but tbh I'm not interested. I'm not interested in Nar as a character that much actually lol.
I mean, there was potential even earlier, don't get me wrong, if you're familiar with the doujinshi artist Engawaken you might have seen her works, they're old but wow. Because moments in the story like after Sas defeats Orochimaru, after he 'defeats' Itachi or after Danzo, are very interesting to explore, imagining a possessive Naruto finally getting his hands (in all senses lol) on Sas, letting out his anger and possessiveness and jealousy on him and so on. Like...wow. I like these. So much. Wooow. Possessive dark Nar is so interesting tbh.
But I'm more interested in Sas' interactions (including dark ones) with other, less main/everywhere/everything revolving around them characters, especially older/strong ones. (ooh age gap how bad! guys block me now or let yourself known so I can block you!)
The cool thing about Naruto as a story is that it's full of characters with dark potential.
Itachi is the most important one, his relationship with Sasuke is so important, so complex, so canonically ambiguous that even if I often think I'm bored of writing about them cause I did, I periodically am inspired with darkfics for them.
But not considering him, there are Orochimaru, Kakashi, Obito, Madara...but also Shikamaru, Sai even, Suigetsu, and, last but not least, Juugo. Because Juugo holds so much potential, both for 'wholesome' and for dark that wow. Tbh after I finish To Repair With Gold I'd like to write smth about Suigetsu or him with Sasuke, and I have planned since forever smth with Kakashi and smth with Obito, and after all this who knows I might get back to be inspired to write dark NS.
(lol actually I once imagined, for fun, a stupid modern AU that is not even dark, with Sas as an animal rights activist and NAr as a forest activist, clashing over some activism related issue lol, I'll never write it but since it's not dark I kinda imagine ppl would like it. So I won't write it cause I only write unpopular stuff lol)
Tbh my plan would be to write what I have in my list and leave the fandom cause fandoms are toxic now and I don't want to deal with ppl attacking artists and authors for hypocrite moral issues anymore. Life is too short to be insulted by strangers on the internet over fictional characters rights.
