DMC Questions Anon here!

Create a crossover! What is Devil May Cry crossing over with? How does it work? How do the characters from each world interact with the characters from the other?

Ooh, this is an interesting one.

So, obvious answers are like Bayonetta or something, but that's not really my style, so let's talk about something on the more obscure side:

Chainsaw Man. Takes place during the events of the DMC 3 manga and CSM part 1, Dante gets recruited to Public Safety after the events of the novel, because Makima would not pass up a chance at having a son of Sparda under her control. Vergil and Arkham in the background raising the Temen Ni Gru, but Public Safety is holding onto some of the Hells, so the two work as antagonists. In Part 2, Lady joins either the Devil Hunters Club or Public Safety, while Dante goes independent after the whole Makima incident, and it caps off with the events of DMC 3 happening, except Denji is there and eats the Hells.

As far as character interaction goes, I'd have Dante join a bit before Denji so he could get some development with Aki. I think that especially before he learned that Vergil was still alive, he'd really look to Aki to fill that older brother gap. He'd definitely start distrustful of everyone, but Makima is a little better/more patient at the manipulation thing than Gilver, so she'd crack him eventually. Specifically, she'd try to become a new mother figure, which we all know is serious weakness for Dante. Meanwhile, it's Arkham and Vergil who summon Power to the human world as a fiend, and have her work as something of a double agent. Also, easier Blood-Goyles. When Denji finally shows up, Dante would definitely see a bit of himself, and even as dickish and insensitive as this era of Dante is, he'd probably end up taking a supportive, almost Kamina like role in Denji's life. Also, he'd think the ability to turn into a bunch of Chainsaws is sweet.

Oh boy, this’ll be a bit of a long post! Alright I’ll try to keep this quick…

10. Toph Beifong: Look, what is there to say? If a young blind girl beating the shit out of ATLA’s version of Dwayne Johnson isn’t enough for Toph to be one of your faves, then you just have shit taste.

9. Power: A blood fiend with a bad attitude, Power serves as a foil to main character Denji, acting as a little sister/cat to his middle child/dog. Together, the pair make a hilarious dynamic duo, but also bring out the best and worst in each other, just like real siblings. Also Power is certified grossgirl rep.

8. Miles Morales: I wish I was more familiar with the comics, but even going off his incarnation in Spider-Verse alone, Miles has to be my favorite Spidey. He’s just so lovable and artistic and genuine, and his story is incredible. Proof that anyone can wear the mask and that you’re never facing the world alone, he’s an easy pick for my top 10.

7. Blitzo: Funny how his name sounds like blorbo, huh? Blitzo is a character that’s grown on me slowly, but the more I see of him the more interesting and entertaining he becomes, and the more I truly feel for this boss out of hell. As a later entry confirms, short angry men that shoot guns and swear a lot may just be an archetype I enjoy…

6. Jolyne Cujoh: The first (and so far only) JoJo not to be a man, Jolyne is every bit as badass as her predecessors. Her arc of personal growth is just utterly awesome, and her ultimate fate, while tragic, brings the curse upon her bloodline to an end.

5. Stolas Goetia: As a father single-handedly carrying the weight of one of the only engaging mlm relationships in animation, Stolas is a lot of fun to watch. Unabashedly horny, incompetently caring and all around dorky, this owl prince injects some much appreciated character drama into every scene he’s in.

4. Denji: Chainsaw Man’s titular titty-obsessed protagonist may not be your standard Shonen hero, but that’s what makes him so great. His simple but relatable desires keep his story grounded even as all the weirdness and horror ramp up. As if that weren’t enough, his fighting style is just the goriest, most brutal thing ever and I cannot get enough.

3. Bruno Bucciarati: Bucci Gang Rise Up! The adoptive mother figure of Vento Aureo, Bruno is one of those characters who would tech you valuable life lessons before asking if you want to help him commit some crime together, ie. the best kind of character. Not only that, but his stand, Sticky Fingers, is my absolute favorite stand with a unique and fun ability.

2. Angel Dust: Another Italian gangster with an open-breast white suit, it’s Angel Dust himself! From drag shows to mob violence to doing acid behind the Denny’s at 3 AM, Angel brings a lot to the table as a character. While his canon content may be lacking, his music video has me hooked waiting to see how his character will develop and very excited to see more of him. But as for my absolute favorite…

1. Rocket Raccoon: The GotG have been my favorite superhero team since I first started watching the MCU and the sheer novelty of a talking space raccoon with a gun as long as he is tall was enough for him to stick with me. However, his character arc of opening up to his new found family after years of trauma and loneliness, combined with his wholesome relationship with Groot, his best friend turned adopted son, elevated him from an ironic pick to my unironic favorite of all time. My one hope for GotG vol. 3? Rocket gets an actual happy ending for once. He deserves it.

Hero Artifact Ideas

I'm sure you all have seen my recent Hero Artifact pictures, where I basically make some BS empowering artifact meant to basically be Light Novel protag level power-ups to various protagonists.

Those were the first ones I put to paper but I have a few more roaming around in my head. Here is a list of heroes I am trying to come up with weapons for and some concepts that I have for some of them:

(Note: an * next to the name means that I haven't fully watched the series and have just heard a lot about it from a friend or have read up on it a bit, so I am a bit limited on design ideas)

Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto) *: 9 shuriken made from the same metal as the Uzumaki Adamantine chains, can use Flying Thunder God technique on them, each contain Tailed Beast Chakra. With Chakra from lots of people and the Hashirama Cell Wood Release he can make a new Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and become a 10 Tails, but this is a risk to Kurama.

Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)* : must connect all 3 of his powersets, each power represents one of the worlds: Quincy = Human world, Hollow = Hueco Mundo, Soul Reaper/Shinigami = Soul Society. Small Quincy ZXanpakuto has laser blade like other Quincy weapon.

Natsu Dragneel

Son Goku (Dragon Ball)*: Power Pole upgraded to let Goku fight more conceptual threats using the more mystical nature of Ki. Goku later turns it into dragon tattoos.

Ruby Rose (RWBY)

Izuku Midoriya (My Hero Academia)

Maka Albarn & Soul Eater (Soul Eater): Moon charms that share Black Blood and Anti-Demon Wavelength. Maka can access weapon blood and so can Soul.

Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom(Danny Phantom): must be tech based as he doesn’t really lean into the mystic stuff, maybe an upgraded version of the Ecto-Skeleton (Vlad proves a non-lethal-to-user version can be made), using the Gem of Life from the Reality Gauntlet.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug (Miraculous: The Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir): Already done, might tweak

Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls): Spell Book journal with his Pine Tree symbol instead of the six-fingered hand, with the Big Dipper/Ursa Major on it.

Ben Tennyson (Ben 10): 1. Electric Sword (has a lot of electrical aliens, references Ascalon, also references Take-Mikazuchi a Sword and Thunder god from Japan who was in first sumo match, referencing Sumo Slammers), or a Band that gives him Ki powers (X is Roman 10 and pronounced “chi”, and Chi is also a form of life energy like Mana b/c fuck you writers saying only Gwen can use mana).

Those are the heroes I chose to try and come up with Artifacts for and some ideas I already had. If anyone wants to help me come up with an idea if any of these guys seem appealing to you, feel free to speak out. Naturally, I'd expand a lot more on the ideas if the weapon design actually gets made.
