Somercrest Academy is basically the reject version of NRC and RSA. It’s the magic school you go to if you can’t get into the good ones. It’s kind of delaptited in the middle of nowhere in kind of an overgrown jungly swampy area. They have a one sided rivalry with NRC and RSA because they consider them to be their rivals but NRC and RSA never take them seriously. They got last place in VDC 😬

He often relaxes in the lagoon in the front of the school even though it’s technically off limits. He doesn’t have a UM yet.

They don’t know why this happened or who the student was but needless to say they aren’t a fan of Crowley and is quite bitter to the school. It was too late to apply To RSA so they ended up at Somercrest. They’re student body president and friends with Caiman.

interactions with eebydeebies and sapient / sentinet mons are verrry dependent and selective , so i apologize in advance !! </3

i also hc that domesticated pokémon are trained to have their moves be less lethal in battles than if they were to give it their all like they were fighting for survival , for obvious ethical reasons . this is why pokémon simply faint in battle instead of just dying from the attacks and how their trainers don't get caught up in the crossfire . 'mons that have fainted aren't necessarily unconscious , but merely don't have the energy , ability , etc to continue battling , which is shown in the anime . battles aren't supposed to be deadly , but can definitely shift that way if not careful

( + ) " revivals " are temporary solutions for when a 'mon faints , but a trainer should always check in to the nearest pokémon center after a battle regardless

levels aren't really a thing on the blog and aren't needed in order for pokémon to evolve ! i don't consider " HP " to really be a thing either , other than just a marker to determine how close your mon is to fainting :P natures and characteristics mean nothing to me >:3c

i’m aware that the pokémon universe and rotomblr have this sort of — weird space time continuum and multiverse , so !!! 0_0 my blog won’t have too many weird timeline hijinks for the most part other than a few brief mentions / incidents , since i just assume everyone lives in the same universe - ish !! if i interact with two different blogs that just so happen to rp the same character , i wont mention any past rps that they werent apart of since !! different portrayal !!! since diwata is my sona , he'll still age with me ^_^

TMA *EGOS*

PLEASE EXPLAIN MORE

Okay I'm assuming that you're asking me to give what TMA Avatar each of the Egos would be which I'll go into detail here!!! With!!!! Some bonus Picrews!! If you have any further questions don't be afraid to reach out in the ask box xxx

Before I begin I do want to mention that these are just my own thoughts!!! I would absolutely love to hear what everyone thinks/if you have alternative ideas to suggest as well :DDD

(For starters I think all of the Egos have elements of The Lonely to them- they all feel isolated in their lives for whatever reason)

Chase Brody (The Eye) - I think Chase is so unbelievably Eye coded and he's VERY Archivist coded in my brain, giving off Season 4 Jonathan Sims if you get me. The Beholding is all about paranoia, feeling like your being watched and this insatiable need to know more- which Chase pretty much checks every box in my brain (especially after Anomaly Found). Chase does have elements of The Corruption and The Buried which I think would mostly just because of The Eyes effects of his life.

Marvin The Magnificent (The Desolation) - to me I've always gotten the impression that Marvin's magic reflects his mental wellbeing and he didn't gain it naturally- a younger Marvin to me has always read as a Carrie White or a Sydney Novak type character- someone with such intensely strong powers that its only a matter of time before he destroys something- i think the thing it destroys the most is Marvin himself though, its harmed everything around him and has probably left him isolated and alone. The Desolation isn't just fire it's the destruction of everything it doesn't care for death it just drives to squeeze the pain out of you. Which for me is exactly how I've always imagined Marvin, the fact that he doesn't want to hurt others would only feed into it more.

JackieBoy Man (The Vast) - Now with Jackie he's always seemed to be the hardest character to pinpoint for me personally. But at the end I thought The Vast was the only appropriate entity for him, he's an odd mix of Crew and Fairchild where he's constantly chasing down the thrill of open air, of falling into nothingness. He also to me seems like he'd be the one Ego who'd be the most aware of how insignificant their lives are in the grand scheme of the entirety of the universe (plus as a bonus his comic is the only one this far to reference the grand universe and the sheer scale of everything.

Jameson Jackson (The Web) - JJ is so interesting to me because to me he's both puppet and puppet master. He's a people pleaser and I would go as far to say that he takes it the point no one ever truly knows who he really is, like Martin Blackwood, he's all smiles and kind gestures but he treats everyone the same, it's only when you take a step back do you realise just how surface level his gestures are. I don't think he's a bad person however, I just think he pretends to care a lot more than he actually does. He's manipulated but he knows it, hes the quickest to spot the signs of manipulation because he's seen it and he's played with the same strings- that doesn't make him immune to manipulation and I think part of him is aware of just how caught up he is in the web himself.

Henrik Von Schneeplestien (The End/The Spiral) - Henrik was almost impossible for me to settle on because there's quite a few he could fall into (I could even make an argument he'd also belong in The Eye or Corruption) but I think his true calling is The End. I see him carry death unknowingly to the people around him, he spends so much time saving lives to counter act it somehow, he can't save everyone but if he can help people just as much as he accidentally kills others then maybe he can live with himself- it obviously takes a hold of him and he's eventually unable to keep operating in this way which is where The Spiral comes in, I think the constant death surrounding him will eventually break him and unknown to him and everyone around him- the signs for this were all clear as day.

Antisepticeye (The Stranger) - Anti is not human, anti has never been human and him trying to convince you that he is one is nothing short of uncanny. He's not had the life experiences to know how humans are supposed to move, his body consists of that which is important for a human to survive but none of it works right. He kills people and robs their lives and their faces and mocks you with them. He sends people into paranoia because they know that something is wrong but they just can't tell what. He is a mask of humanity worn by a thing that doesn't know how to be human.

BONUS: Robbie The Zombie (The Corruption) - Robbie was the easiest BC yk, zombie. But I would like to think that he didn't die and come back. His zombification was slow and it started when he was alive, watching and feeling his body begin the decomposition process while he was still very much alive and aware and feeling. It slowly but surely robbed him of not just his life but his identity and he slowly started to lose himself within the rot of The Corruption as he progressed.

I usually only share picrew images on my Twitter but I decided to post this one on tumblr too since it has oc lore! 😆 So below are the explanations for my pokemon choices for her:

Leafeon - It's all about the PHOTOSYNTHESIS! It makes fresh air for her and its tail can become sharp and deadly (like her knives) :) It also smells like grass which she likes! I think out of all pokemon I'm keeping leafeon for her no matter what

Pumpkaboo - Audrey loves pumpkins, and is afraid of the dark so pumpkaboo can provide her with light 😌 It can also keep her company if she ever becomes ghostdrey again (she has leftover trauma from Beach AU)

Galarian Rapidash - Audrey loved unicorns when she was a little kid so now as an adult she gets to indulge! She also likes to go FAST when traveling. Also Galarian rapidash can protect and heal you from poison?? I wonder if it would work again zombie infections..

Cutiefly - It can sense auras, and is attracted to people who are excited since it makes their auras resemble a flower in full bloom! I thought this was perfect because not only do I associate Audrey with flowers a lot but she also doesn't hold back when she's happy about something (e.g. crying over delicious food) so she probably attracted a cutiefly at some point haha

Cleffa - Audrey likes to dance and she also likes to watch meteor showers so I imagine she found some cleffa during one of her stargazing nights and danced with them for fun and one of them decided to follow her home

Wooloo - I just think she deserves to relax and cuddle with a nice soft wooloo in the grass! :") She's a retired knight and she's lived through an apocalypse and a war and escaping a cult so now it's time to mow hay. Also Audrey has always been a self sufficient girl so maybe she makes clothes out of wooloo's wool to survive the winter just like how she used werewolf fur in mainverse :3

And that's all of them! I see half the team ended up being fairy types and I think that's fair, Audrey Grace has always been surrounded by magical stuff x)

I tried to include at least one fighting type since she's supposed to be very athletic and a good fighter but idk none of them really spoke to me 😔 Audrey will just have to be the fighter in her team, she'll protect everyone. 😤 Maybe she'll make friends with a Lucario though and they'll go on zombie sweeps together, I think that could be cool...

I’ve been on an eso hyperfixation for a while now and Feylith makes me so happy, she is currently my main comfort oc and I am rotating her in my mind like in a microwave at all times. She is actually a part of an extensive family of ocs I made for eso and its youngest member (age-wise) as of now. Raised in a Telvanni mushroom tower by two mothers and being the youngest of three sisters, she is generally shy and aloof, but has a kind heart. She is a trained mycologist and alchemist and loves travelling across Tamriel cataloguing foreign fungi and flora; yet she always finds herself entangled in some adventure or another. She is my main eso oc and I ship her with Verandis because he deserves some happiness in the world. :3c

She is technically not my oldest oc, but I don’t really talk about my old original novel on here anymore. She is the oldest video game oc that I still keep even though she has been revamped a couple of times. She is a necromancer and a usually lone and withdrawn scholar. She never really fit in with her clan much, keeping spirits and forest animals as her company. She romances Solas because I love suffering and I am all here for the big bad wolf / soft and kind woman vibe I just want to punch Solas in the mouth and also kiss him.

ODETTA D’PAVENSEI • tyranny + original verse

It’s not that she is mean by choice or intent, Odetta simply cannot stand fools, tardiness, or incompetence. She has a direct goal in her mind that she will follow no matter what, even if it means leaving a sea of corpses in her wake. She is brutally honest, follows a personal code and has a sense of lawfulness around her. She believes she is doing the right thing and she has no time to consider other people’s feelings. She is also a very hot evil mommy and she can step on me anytime.

FAERENE ROSENHALL • pathfinder: wrath of the righteous + original verse

She is my go-to oc and an inspiration behind a lot of others. In fact, she could be considered as a base source I base a lot of my other pink soft and gentle ocs around or a multi-verse oc. She is a fey abandoned at birth and raised by a mortal family. It goes without saying that in p:wotr she chooses the Azata mythic path. She has been known for having very vivid dreams and Desna often contacted her through visions, leading her towards Kenabres and her destiny. Faerene’s story is a story about self-discovery and realizing one’s self-worth. In a way, she is an inspiration to myself as well.

I don’t talk about Dorothea much, or dragon’s dogma for that matter, but she is very dear to my heart. She has selective mutism and often keeps to herself. Known as The Lady of Moths, she has a peculiar ability that allows her to speak to moths (specifically, and only moths) who often whisper the events happening around the world to her. She and Grigori, the big bad dragon, are both connected souls and partners destined to clash together again and again, only to earn a brief respite in the afterlife before the Cycle begins anew.

It’s not that she is actually dumb (she is a quite smart mechanic but there are different types of intelligence, obviously), it’s the stubbornness and the absolutely crazy and strange drive which propels her to dive into any dangerous situation with her head forwards, guns blazing. Fay has strong determination to not let the Wasteland break her and her enthusiasm is contagious. She is here to turn the Commonwealth into a better place and helps people in need without thinking. Also, she is physically impervious to flirting and Hancock needs to blatantly tell her he likes her only for her to go “Ah he is just nice.”

Alethea is one of my favorite ocs of all time. She is a plant-based necromancer and a healer who lives in a witchy cottage in the middle of the woods. Ostracized by her community, she has been keeping to herself for several centuries, only her undead ancestors keeping her company. She has used this time well. Being a seeker of knowledge, Alethea managed to collect a lot of books and scriptures on a variety of subjects. Despite being a necromancer, she is quite a talented healer as well, folks seeking her for her remedies from time to time.

hello!! I've just started reading Watch Your Step, and i love it so far T o T !! Do you have character sheets/commissions/descriptions of what each character looks like? I'd love to draw them ^^ !!

So, you are allowed to picture the characters differently if you think that's fun, but all the visuals that exist of all the characters should be linked in the story masterpost! But I'll recap the main details here to make it easier to reference!

Thistle

Height: 5.56 inches

Thistle probably has the greatest "open to interpretation" factor in his look. The only details that are specified in the actual text of the story is that he's bug-like enough to freak out people who are creeped out by bugs, and that he has long black hair. (That and the details of his wing being torn, as well as thing like him emoting with his ears, which implies they're probably longer than a humans'.) I personally would love to see some different takes on what that could look like, but this has been his most consistent character design.

Marcy

Marcy's only canon descriptors are that she's implied to be fat at certain points, and this contrast Thistle notes with Teddy in 1.10:

Out of all three of the giants, Teddy was the one he was the least familiar with, and the least comfortable.  She was the opposite of Marcy in a lot of ways.  Marcy was thick, Teddy was thin.  They had different skin and hair colors.  Marcy had long hair, Teddy had short.  Marcy liked looking at bugs, and Teddy hated it.  Marcy loved to touch him, handle him, examine him–loved it too much, an unsettling amount. 

She also looks "alt" enough that people assume she's a lesbian in 2.3.

Teddy and Colin

Heights: 5' 6" (Teddy) and 6'2" (Colin)

Teddy is implied to black at a few different points in the story and is contrasted with Marcy as I said earlier. Colin is specified to be white and very plain-looking in 2.3

With the power of crowd-sourcing, they even managed to find slurs to hurl at Colin, a cisgender white man who even on his most rebellious days never managed to look more countercultural than the average saltine cracker.  If the fire hose of boiling malice hadn’t been so scary, it might almost be impressive.

Colin also spends a lot of time outside, so I imagine he has perpetual tan lines.

Moon probably has the most detailed description out of anyone

But no.  He was clearly male–although possibly this was a case of using magic to change appearance without being able to change larger features of sex, such as body size, which Thistle had heard of but never seen firsthand.  But this new person’s wings were too different to be a pixie–they weren’t translucent like Thistle’s but solid and powdery like a moth’s wings, green and purple appendages stretching out behind him.  He had long, shiny black hair, braided elegantly, and his clothes were fine, no cobbled together rags like Violet and Petunia had had…finer even than Thistle’s own clothes.  And he was….fuzzy.  The ends of very soft-looking fur poked out from the top of his shirt and the ends of his sleeves. He was sitting cross-legged on the ground in a patch of rapidly waning moonlight, sheltered under the leaves of a sapling, eyes closed.  As Thistle’s footsteps grew loud enough to alert this stranger to the pixie’s presence, his eyes snapped open.  They were red–and reflective, indicating he had better night vision than a pixie.

The cane is for balance because he has foot drop in his left foot.

Spider Sona?!

Okay so remember that crush f/o... They're not a crush no more. (Stupid, stupid, STUPID man! ...Who's very smart...) And while I do love my boys just loving me as me, I have been enthralled with having my own spider-sona! I apologize to all canon nerds that'll tear this apart but I don't care! It's for fun!

So this reference is after finding out about the Arachno-Humanoid Poly-Multiverse or by the easier name of Spider-verse. (it's a WIP and here is the link to the picrew) But when she's in her own universe, Earth-9612, her look is more of a magical girl style similar to Peni's artstyle (Picrew here, I'll get an outfit ref later) and that's what all her friends/fans/and foes recognize her as!

Name: Rebecca Grace Rozenaria Alias: Arachnaria, Spider-Girl (More commonly) Height: 5" and 1/4 of an inch (Much to her own dismay) Civilian Occupation: Part-time Retail Worker, Part-time student getting a psych and child development degree. Age: 21 (She's been known as Spider-Girl since 19)

Civilian Personality: A sweet and bubbly girl who tends to get over-excited at things. But her sweetness can only go so far. She holds back her sharp wit, sharper tongue, and sarcasm and only uses it with friends OR when people back her in a corner. She's happy to do anything to make others smile but doubts her own importance in such actions.

Hero Personality: Take that sweetness and dial it up to 11, she's willing to do WHATEVER it takes to save the innocent. She'd even go as far as to sacrifice herself to do so (And she has...)

Origins: Instead of getting bit by a radioactive/mutant spider, getting injected with venom, finding a symbiote, or anything like that, she made a pact with an interdimensional arachnid demon! Honestly the whole thing was a blur. All she remembers was that she didn't want to but agreed since she wanted to save her best friends from that fate after they had been messing around with occult artifacts and summoned the demon she calls the Web Weaver. It's not all bad though, this pact has actually granted her some relief. This is because when she is Arachnaria, her condition is easier to manage.

Some details I wanna add:

Due to the mystical ways that she got her powers, her world/timeline works differently. She has seen it die/has sacrificed herself for it several times, only for her to wake up the day after in bed heavily injured but with no other collateral.

She has a complicated relationship with her demon. He gave her powers so that she could become worthy prey for him to hunt. Despite this, he converses with her like an equal and won't let her die?!

Despite her bubbly sweetness, she curses a lot when she feels she can.

She is from New Jersey!

That sharp tongue of hers has also been called venomous by others since when she feels backed into a corner in an argument and can't leave, she has a knack for getting right to a person's sensitive spots in their life. Not in a way meant to hurt them, but in a way that raises a point. She hates doing so, but many say after reconciling it makes them think.

Her best friend, @floweringforgetfulness, and her other best friend Ace (who later becomes Earth-9612's Black Cat) were there with Rebecca at the initial pact, so they can remember events too.

Her half-brother may have been the 'canon' Spider-Man of her world. He may have also died in doing so... This is what others believe is my S/I's 'canon event'. Though her life was never too great beforehand...

Despite her just wanting the best for her world and loved ones, the media can be pretty cruel to her back in her own world. They can tear down her every action, especially when her condition acts up, and even compare her to the 'missing' Spider-Man. She doesn't let it show, but it eats away at her...

It can and has come to a point where she just wanted to quit with everyone telling her so, but never has. (Very much inspired by this song! vvv)

Relationship Dynamics:

Before Miles became Miguel's biggest issue, it was Rebecca. She wasn't a spider person, just a girl with spider magic(?) (He hates that he can't wrap his head around it) He wanted to leave it at that! But, when he kept getting alerts of anomalies from Earth-9612 and being told time and time again that her world vanished/was destroyed but she brought it back... He wants to keep an eye on her.

By the time of ITSV, Rebecca and Miguel have a pretty friendly-seeming relationship. It may seem one-sided to others with Rebecca wasting her sweetness, but they never saw the late-night work conversations that would transform into a place where she encouraged Miguel to mourn and rest, if only mentally.

No one other than Lyla, Peter B, and Jessica Drew dare to suspect anything more than that.

She's very casual about her deaths, even joking about it sometimes. (How she copes) Miguel and her friends don't like it!

She is more than happy to be a listening ear and comforting shoulder to anyone in the Hub! She believes communication of one's feelings goes a long way to help people cope, heal, and just feel better. She also knows how hard it is to do so, so she won't pry but always offer, especially to those who just come from missions.

She not-so-lowkey adopts Miles as like a spider sibling since she can remember when Miguel was on her case! So as she told him "Us anomalies gotta stick together y'know?!"

The rest of Miles' group, aside from Peter B, is a bit hesitant when they know how close Rebecca is to Miguel. But through some assurance from her and Peter B who has seen when she and Miguel used to argue constantly, they warm up to her.

She loves doing graffiti with Miles and shows him her fave spot in her world.

She admires Pavitr's hair since hers is dyed to hell and back. She also asks him to give her tips for a suit redesign to incorporate her own hair into her look. She's also so happy to listen to his gushes about Gayatri and respond in kind with her own girlfriend of nearly 7 years!

With Hobie, she deeply admires his fight against corporate and government greed, not to mention his fashion sense! She's told him many a tale of her time working retail!

With Gwen, Rebecca sees her struggle with her feelings and closeness to others. So even though it very much takes baby-steps, she does her best to show Gwen it's okay to have a life outside of her duty and that being alone with the weight of the world will only crush her.

She LOVES Mayday to death! She's always trying to make the little one laugh and smile! She loves acting silly and will bend over backward for this child. Self-appointed interdimensional spoiling big sis there!

I do have more ideas but just wanna get this out there since I'm hyperfixating! Also, my ship with Miguel will be called: 'A Different Web to Weave' if you need to tag it/block it! I know how a lot of people are loving Miguel right now!

Description: Purity is a deity who's main job is to just make sure nothing disrubs the timelines. She's there to fix any mistakes that might change the way things "should be". She keeps the world pure of chaos by cleaning out and filtering anything that may go wrong. However, since her job is mostly just to make sure other's aren't falling behind on their jobs, she has a lot of free time. She may not actually be a young god, but she acts like one. Meet My OC's: Achaemenes

Full Name: Achaemenes. That's it. Fey cult didn't really do last names. Goes by Kay because his name is a mouthful and also he's trying to fit in.

Age: 24, to anyone's best estimate.

Gender: He's male in the way that people call ships female. Like...is it accurate in any way, not necessarily, but there's vibes there. Pronouns are any but the order tends to go he/they/she.

Sexuality: Attractive People (He's wildly pansexual. He likes anyone who's fun.)

Occupation: (Ideally) Forever student, former village doctor sort of

Physical Description: Kay tries to look as normal as possible, so he tends to wear muted colors and generic-npc-style clothing, basically anything he's determined won't stick out. His hair is brown and curly and it's shaved at the sides, blended up into it being longer at the top and fluffy. His eyes are brown, and his skin is a mid-brown. He has some piercings as well. My best approximation is below. Picrew linked here.

Personality: If you don't know Kay, he's quiet, keeps to himself, contributes the bare minimum, and does his best to make himself scarce. Not getting found out is important to him, and the stereotype of a fey-adjacent person is that talkative, a little reckless, fun-loving person that he tries his hardest not to fit. But for the group, he's quick with a joke, quicker with a sarcastic comment, and more than willing to be a dumbass. He likes to laugh and have fun, sometimes to the point of not being able to take important things seriously.

Other Important Stuff: Kay is originally from a tiny little compound-esque area, they call it a town but it's too small to really be that. The people there are...somewhat human, but there's so many fey mixed in that most everyone has some level of fey ancestry. Most of them don't know it as such, but they have some fey-like characteristics and an innate connection to the aspects of the forest that are a little more magic-touched. Kay's connection has to do with healing. It's not...exactly magical, but it sort of manifests as incredible luck, or things being far easier than they should. More worldbuilding on how fey work in this world will come.

Enasal Lavellan:

Inquisitor in my first (still incomplete) longfic. ADHD out the wazoo and has some weird behaviors, but her sincerity and eagerness to do something good wins people over.

Shiral Lavellan:

Enasals older sister. After being forced into a parental role of her sister at age 12, Shiral both deeply loves her sister but also has some resentment toward her. She worries about her and wants to protect her from the world, but unfortunately, the worry comes across as controlling and mean - she tends to infantize Enasal and still thinks of her as a little girl. Can't stand Cullen and accuses him on multiple occasions of taking advantage of her sister. Many of the denizens of Skyhold have some degree of fear of her.

Annason Garette:

Originally hired to make a dress for Enasal for a meeting with nobility. The twittering and overexcited young Orleisan is a borderline worshiper of Enasal, pleading with Josephine to become her attendant after she and Enasal spend some time together. Eventually, the worship turns into a legitimate friendship.

Serafina Tabris:

My Warden for my newer fic. Serafina was born in a crows nest in Antiva, but when templars raided and burnt the building down, she and a few other survivors were sent to her aunt's nest for five years to work in the kitchens. After an order came down for her death, she was smuggled out of Antiva and sent to her maternal uncle in Denerim. Incredibly timid and with exactly zero self confidence.

Warden Robin:

BAMF with a heat of gold, Robin acts as Duncan's second in command during the search for recruits. She quickly takes to Serafina and does everything she can to boost her confidence and help her feel safe in the camp full of men. It quickly becomes evident that this is a pattern for her, as she helps some of the other recruits with the same gentleness and skill as she does with Serafina.

On the other hand, will rip out someone's throat with her teeth if she thinks it's come to it.

Henrietta Brosca:

My usual dwarven commoner when I play DA. This trouble-making do-gooder loves nothing more than to tease and cause a ruckus. Complains about her companions' complaining by muttering, "Bicker, bitch, and bellyache." Very high energy and can be a little much for some people, but is actually incredibly smart and has a talent for lockpick and trap making.

Hanin Mahariel:

Snarky and a little bit of a pot-stirrer, Hanin tends to have problems with knowing when to stop talking and can ask some pretty obnoxious questions without really thinking them through. An expert with a bow, he can almost keep up with Leliana (though he never actually beats her) and absolutely demolishes Zevran when he quips about knowing how to shoot as well.

Cosette Amell:

A soft-hearted mage who holds tight to romantic and divine ideals. She is a skilled fire mage and delights in using her magic to set darkspawn ablaze. She is very sensitive and would be a pescatarian if she could. If catastrophe strikes her first thought tends to be, "But what about the animals?!"

Lorenzo Araiani:

Lorenzo -who probably won't appear in the fic, is Serafina's cousin. He's grumpy, generally dislikes people, and would really be happy if everyone just left him alone. It might have something to do with being a mage with stupidly strong mind-reading abilities - to the point he can hear all the thoughts of all the people around him. Gets migraines a lot. Likes a total of two people (one of which he sometimes wonders why he continues to let them breathe) and occasionally loses his shit when the headaches get bad enough,

I have a standing desk in my bedroom with a walking pad. On that desk is a Bluetooth keyboard, a stand for my laptop, and a second monitor. There's also a lamp, some speakers, a copy of Save the Cat Writes a Novel, a bunch of notebooks, some scrap paper, a mug with pens, some thumb tacks, and a candle. I've got a white board to the left, cork boards, and a conspiracy wall of paper taped everywhere for easy-access notes. I'm talking full Pepe Silvia set up, to be honest. It is not elegant, but it gets the job done.

Rambling vaguely about my original projects beneath the cut. There are two: the one I'm about to rewrite that I've been submitting to agents, and then the shiny new thing.

Project One! A YA contemporary fantasy novel called Initiate. To steal my twitter pitch/aesthetic.

The women of 16-year-old Cal Townsend's family have two traditions--witchcraft and secrets. When her father suddenly dies, and Cal is sent to live with her estranged maternal grandmother on a remote island in Lake Superior, Cal unknowingly enters into both. Initiate has:

ANYWAY. I am about to rip that one apart at the seams, so that's all I have to say about it. However, I am also working on a new one that would probably appeal to Batfam fandom fans, so why not pop it in here as well.

It does not have a title yet, and is only the crime mage boys wip.

Set in a world that's exactly like ours except magic is an unquestioned part of it, the vibe of the crime mage boys wip is The Outsiders meets Rear Window but, like, also with magic and Chicago. Basically almost everyone has the capacity to do small magic (light a cigarette with a snap of the fingers, etc etc), but a small portion of the population can't do any (null) and another small portion can do big magic (mages).

The Grayson brothers (I know okay shut up) are hanging on by a thread. Leo (23, null, Tired™️) has been his brothers' legal guardian for the past 5 years and works multiple jobs with long hours to keep them afloat. JT (18/19, on week 52 of being in a bad mood) was a promising mage who had his magic permanently cut off by the police after being in the wrong place at the wrong time-- effectively torpedoing every future plan he'd ever had in a single night and leaving him floundering. Miles (14, protagonist, text book flight risk) just wants to keep his head down and not add to his brothers' many problems.

To bring in some extra money, Miles secretly works for a PI and helps her gather evidence (photos of cheaters caught in the act, checking to see if people really live at addresses--low risk recon jobs, basically). But add in a witnessed murder, a DIY-vigilante who keeps putting himself in Miles's way, and a growing mages' rights movement sweeping over the city, and Miles is getting a hell of a lot more than he bargained for.

• Hunter owns a bakery; he works 4 days a week and spends his Fridays looking after his daughter

• Willow is a professional flyer derby player! She also volunteers in helping restore the palistrom trees with eda

• Hunter never misses one of willows games, whenever she gets a point hunter yells “THATS MY GIRLFRIEND!” Everyone knows this already, he tells them every week

• Their adoptive daughters name is Poppy Park! She’s five years old and loves gardening, hitting people with sticks and just being silly in general

• During the first few months after poppys adoption, willow would often wake to find that hunter had snuck out of bed at 6am to just watch over poppy in her crib. Most of the time he’s crying

• Gus is absolutely the cool uncle, he’s poppy’s favourite playmate because of his illusions

I've got so many, but my problem is i hardly do a good job fleshing out my villains, except for one of my oldest ones: Leona from Atalina Grey. (I don't have a picture of her). Her and Atalina were destined to be eachothers end. One of them had to kill the other to save their magical species. Leona was the prophesized chosen one, meant to save her people . Atalina was the prophesized dark one. Of course Atalina decided it was all bullshit and wasn't going to put up with it, but Leona was raised her whole live to be the perfect chosen one, to defeat Atalina and do what she was born to do. But if Atalina doesn't fight, then Leona has no purpose and her entire life thus far would be all for not. So Leona makes the decision that she's going to defeat Atalina, whether the girl is evil or not. And she becomes the villain. Idk I just think she's neat.

Ngl most of my OCs feel... Not weird. Maybe that's just me. If I had to choose I'd say Copper, who's like half-reincarnated half-resurrected King Arthur. She's King Arthur who you know died obviously but then was resurrected in a different body and with no memories. Love her tho.

Character Opinions

Housewarden: Kalim’s lots of fun, and he’s really helpful towards all of his students. He was a big part of getting Nadya to relax and not stress out over her schedule when she first came to NRC. Kalim’s cheerful attitude that matches hers, and he’s always ready to party! He gets a little disappointed when she refuses a lot of the party snacks, though - but that disappoints her just as much. They look so good … 

Dormmates: Despite Kalim being housewarden, Nadya has always seen Jamil as being “in charge”. She’s a little suspicious of him, and those suspicions are founded when book 4 comes along, but she also doesn’t fault him that much after his reasons get back to her. She enjoys his cooking when she can eat it. He knows about her strict diet, so he does try to fix things that she can have as part of every meal. While her cheerfulness can get on his nerves, he does respect her self-discipline when it comes to matters dealing with gymnastics. (He wishes she could have it in other parts of her life …)

Clubmates: Nadya either joins or starts the Cheer Club, which isn’t canon, and whoever ends up in it will be in for some serious training! She has her eye on people she wants to recruit for it. She thinks Sebek would be a great fit, since he’s so loud! (Also, if the Pop Music Club ever wants to work with a DJ, she knows a lot about remixing music since she’s been putting together mixes for her gymnastics routines forever. She can even do the old-school vinyl DJing for a retro sound.)

Crowley: She just thinks he’s funny.

Trein: Ugh, so stern and serious. His classes are a snoozefest.

Crewel: Loves him in theory - his fashion sense is on point. But his class is hard.

Vargas: Silly coach, don’t you know you can be strong in all kinds of ways? It’s not all about being a big muscle-brain!

Sam: She loves looking around his shop, and he’s so friendly! It’s fun to go see him.

History

Nadya is the only child of a comfortably middle-class family in the Scalding Sands’ biggest city. Ever since she was able to move on her own two legs, she spent her playtime running, jumping, tumbling and flipping. It was a little difficult getting her to settle down - it still is, now and then. Seeing gymnastics on TV made Nadya want to do that, so as soon as she was old enough, her parents signed her up for lessons. It became clear very soon that Nadya had a natural talent for it, and by the time she was eight, she had her own coach.

Nadya’s coach was once a top-level gymnast like her. She has permission to come to NRC three times a week to go over training with her in the gym. Anyone watching Nadya train can see that her personality is different when she’s at work. She’s quieter and more serious, but this is mostly because when she’s training, she’s in the zone.

Her parents are worried about her slacking off when she’s out from under their watchful eyes, so she has to report to them every day. She doesn’t consider this strange - it’s like a job.

People looking at Nadya’s situation from the outside might worry that she’s being abused. She doesn’t see it this way. Her dream requires hard work, and she’s grateful that her parents are letting her follow it and keeping her accountable.

The worst thing that they did was when she was much younger, during a phase where all she wanted to eat was sweets. Her mother began making sweets for her to eat at home, but she would put something in them that made Nadya feel a little sick to her stomach. After enough of this conditioning, Nadya started avoiding sweets on her own. She has a suspicion nowadays that her parents did something, but she still can’t bring herself to eat sweets. The thought makes her nauseous.

Actions During the Story

Prologue: Finally, something to liven up this boring old ceremony! Nadya thought it was funny - until Grim set everything on fire, including her housewarden.

Book 1: Nadya didn’t know why the Heartslabyul kids just didn’t follow the rules and do what Riddle said. That’s how she’s always gotten by, and it’s worked for her! Still, she did realize it was getting a little out of hand when she heard about Riddle’s more … specific laws.

Book 2: Nadya asked Crowley if she could form a cheer squad to perform at the Spelldrive tournament, but she couldn’t get one together in time. She learned how hard it is to get NRC students to work together. She’s heard that kid from Ramshackle is pretty good at that. Maybe she’ll recruit them next time and see if they can help.

Book 3: Nadya’s parents were starting to wonder if she should be homeschooled instead, so they could have better supervision over her. She begged them to let her stay at NRC if she did well on her exams. In desperation, Nadya signed a contract with Azul, and ended up getting anemone’d. She was able to hide it from her parents, but her coach found out when she showed up for training and couldn’t find Nadya. They found her being forced to work at the lounge. She begged her coach not to tell her parents. Although she wasn’t very sympathetic to Nadya’s situation, the coach agreed not to say anything - for a while. Fortunately, Azul’s contracts were broken before word could get to her parents what happened, and they let her stay at NRC, none the wiser.

Book 4: When Nadya told her parents she wasn't allowed to come home over winter break, they thought it might be a good thing - after all, her grades could use some work. Since she's used to strict coaching and training, she didn't mind as much when Kalim started running his students ragged - but she was concerned because it was such a change of personality for him. She started really getting confused when she noticed him going back and forth between personalities. When Jamil started controlling all the members of her dorm and making them fight the Ramshackle & Octavinelle team, Nadya landed wrong after being hit, and injured her knee badly. She didn't have time to be scared when Jamil overblotted - she was in pain and absolutely livid, and it was all she had to not start cheering when he was taken down. After all, a body is a gymnast's life, and when it's injured, it's a really big deal! She ... might have complained about the injury more than necessary to get him to feel bad about it afterwards. (It didn't work, but that didn't stop her.)

Book 5: Nadya's knee was still healing, so her coach told her that she couldn't audition for the SDC, even though she really wanted to. She was pouty and grumpy for a good bit of Book 5, especially because both Kalim and Jamil were away from the dorm a lot and things weren't run as well when they were gone. Still, when the SDC happened, she cheered the Night Ravens on as one of the loudest voices in the crowd, because she was proud of her dorm's representation in the group. She didn’t know much about Neige aside from “some famous guy”, but she thought his act was super fun and cute.

Why Scarabia?: Nadya needs to become more thoughtful about the situations she finds herself in. She’s too willing to accept things as they are, and not question what people in authority are saying or doing.

But I assume you're talking about Danny, so let me give a little picrew and backstory (I'll find the picrew link to the first one at some point but I wanna share this first, also link to the second one)

This little bitch right here is Danny, a trans fem witch, let me explain her-

I made Danny like a year ago then forgot about her until I started up a rp with Cherry and I've been using her for more things ever since.

Danielle (used to be called David) Gray was born 300 years ago in Italy. You might be questioning how she can live so long, we will get to it. She was then known as one of her parents two children, their sons. She was told and forced to be practically perfect because they had an image to uphold and would not let a child ruin it. Sooner or later, her older brother, Lucas Gray, ran away when she was 100, leaving her alone until she also found her escape around 50-100 years later. She had somehow found her way to the hidden cities and found a way to the one in New York.

There she changes her name, her face, everything about her that she wanted. Danny then made her way to the surface after staying in the hidden city for a long while, making friends with her roommates, Aqua, Nora and Selene. She then meets Tamsin, who she met before when she was first adjusting to New York, a friend. They reconnect and Tamsin would probably introduce her to April.

The way she meets the turtles is a bit different tho. You see, her and her roommates like to have tea days like every Friday and she wanted to get yet another tea set for the house. Need less to say, Leo ends up crashing throw the window of the little tea shop and landing in front of Danny. Instead of being horrified like any normal human, Danny is just really curious about them, she wants to know more about these turtle mutants. I think the boys would be confused by this, but after a while accept her as a new friend. She'd get along well with Splinter and April, with her being calm one on one, but still chaos with others. Danny would soon get closer with the boys and ends up hanging around Leo and Donnie the most, Donnie cuz chaos and Leo cuz she loves to annoy him. She ends up getting closer with Leo and even ends up dating him tho.

As for if she has Ninpo: yes, she has her magic so she never really uses it. She doesn't even really realize she has it until it just kinda shows up during a fight. Her Ninpo is kinda a transportation tool, it's really just like inhuman speed (because of this I think Leo gives her the nickname Zips lmao).

And for her in the future, this part goes two ways.

● Bad timeline: Danny would end up fighting on the front lines, but only for a little while. She has this thing where if she experiences too much stress or overwhelming emotions, she just has this ringing in her ears that can last years, because of the high amounts of stress in the resistance and everything, she becomes mostly deaf. She can still technically hear, but not well enough to understand people without them having to sign out what they mean to her. Her and Leo do get unofficially married during this time tho, even having two kids: Naomi and Michael (if people want I'll make a follow-up post about them and everything). She doesn't make it to the end of the apocalypse tho, she dies during a Krang attack on one of the resistance bases. The entire place blew up basically.

● Good timeline: Danny and Leo would get closer after stopping the Krang invasion. They would get married later on with a over-the-top wedding and everything. They still do have Naomi and Michael, but also another daughter named Suzu (once again, I'll make a follow-up about their kids if y'all wanna see). That timeline I haven't really though too much about tho.

Also her and Tams interactions are so funny in my head it's just like-

Danny: ya think I could fit 20 marshmallows in my mouth?

Tams: ... you're an idiot- and a coward, do 30

And about how she lives so long. Her magic keeps her alive. You see, magic in my head is basically like a life force for some, it can extend someone's life to an extent, but either how much magic Danny has in her body from connecting with her ancestors and members of her family, she's basically immortality from natural causes. Magic is kinda like blood tho, if you lose enough if it, you're gonna die, so too much spell casting or bleeding out since it it literally connected to your blood in a way, you're dead. Explaining how she can die in the bad timeline.
