I agree with what everyone is saying re needing plot summaries and representation style marketing being incredibly annoying but also sometimes i am in a bookstore and what i want is a (good) book (for grown ups) that is by for and about gay people. And since there's no gay bookstore anymore here (pour one out for calamus and also wild child) and bookstores (rightfully probably) don't categorize fiction by identity group, it can be really hard to find that outside of recommendations. And it would be nice if it was easier. Jussayin.

So i get people who want watcher to speak out about the genocide that is happening right now, im sure you are all have good intention and im not going to change your mind on that. Its good if more people talk about it. But im not in the side of nonactivist speaking about something like this and i understand if they dont speak more about this. Theres a couple of reasons more than this, but this is the big reason.
1 ) this doesnt happen in their country, it happenned with Israel and Palestine, while yes American is definitely supporting the military of Israel, we need to understand this isnt like BLM and Stop Asian Hate, that they talk about before, this doesnt happen in their country.
2 ) Activism isnt just online, im pretty sure they are talking about what happenned in Gaza with their friends and im pretty sure they are definitely not in the side of genocide from the track records on how they support BLM and their support Stop Asian Hate.
3 ) as someone who is raised with an Islam religion, while genocide is not a complicated subject to talk about. What happenned with Israel and Palestine is. I have heard so much " do you condemn hamas thought ? " and i know alot of jewish people who are simply just living their life keep getting asked "Do you condem Bibi Netanyahu for his action on genocide? " Its so ridicilous the ammount of time people see this as the holy war between Jewish and Muslim instead of an actual humanity issues that is happening right now.
Now i understand how this could definitely make people angry, and you dont have to agree with me. This is simply a personal opinion, because i get it honestly i have been so harassed by alot of stranger recently ever since this genocide that i just stopped talking about it online and have a nuance conversation over people i can see in real life.
Sam Young have shared instagram stories about Palestine, and Tammy Cho, Steven wife, also share instagram story about the genocide and have been doing it for quiet sometimes ( i need to put this here, but this is definitely because Tammy Cho is an activist first and foremost ) and im sure they will not be friends or work with people who deny genocide. If you want to have quiet a relief.
Now on to the reason i speak here now,
To see Sara Rubin getting called a Zionist despite her not saying if she is or not, is absolutely antisemitistic and it pissed me the fuck off. For the bluesky post she made about "Just feel like we need to normalize not speaking about things you dont know about." Could genuinely be fucking about anything. ESPECIALLY, because she is jewish.
None of you will understand truly what its like being called zionist as a jewish person who never shared if she is a zionist or not, none of you will understand when a right-wing politician, that is antisemitistic from the beginning, that genuinely most of you keep retweeting about, suddenly use the word zionist on their post and suddenly alot of you all keep retweeting their postmbecause you didnt realize when they say zionist they mean jewish people. Like she literally could genuinely mean the antisemitism she faced and the ammount of misinformation that is filled with antisemitistic rhetoric. Its too vague of a post for you all to assume if she is a zionist or not from that.
Anyway my last note for this post, please in all genuine have kindness for the muslim people and jewish people who is struggling right now because of the genocide, the ammount of hate crime they have to face everyday. Please for the love of Allah, i want you all to do just a really quick check if you share information, you reblog from or retweet from, is it from someone who is antisemitistic or someone who is islamophobic? Just genuinely do a quick check, and if you already understands what considered dog whistles, it might be easy for you to figure out where the person stands. And despite alot of post of " zionism does not equal antisemitism " you are all making. There is ALOT of people who equals zionism as antisemitism. Just, listen to Muslim and Jewish people around you if you post something wrong. That is all. And btw i bet alot of you doesnt know what zionism actually is if you accuse sara rubin of being one, because the word "sara is making the watcher boys not say anything about the genocide" sound alot like jewish people control what people are saying, and isnt THAT an antisemitistic rhetoric. Be aware on how you word out your post, just becareful. And truly the last last word, you can support palestine without being antisemitistic, by focusing on how to actually help palestine, talking about what is happening in palestine helps alot but i do recommend this PCRF ( Palestine Childrens Relief Fund ) and Palestine Red Crescent Society helps and provides aids to Gaza people ( idk how to link them but hope you all do a quick search ).
Alright, sorry for the really long post but i hope i get my points across correctly, and i truly just want peace for Muslim and Jewish people.
yeah obviously i can't speak to what they're talking about in their personal lives. i don't think it's about pitting the whole of judaism against the whole of islam for the majority of people. it's about the genocide of palestinians on top of the myriad human rights violations and war crimes imposed on them by israel.
you can absolutely support palestine without being antisemitic and without blaming every jewish person. thank you for providing resources! i'll link them here: pcrf & prcs.

I really dont get how anyone can be 100%, fully, no-criticisms, in favor of Israel at this point and still live with themselves.
Like. I try to see both sides of everything, right? Because I just think its important to try to win people over to your point of view. (I rarely succeed these days because everyone is so uttery convinced they're 100% right and take any criticism as insults they can throw away but thats beside the point)
Anyways, I can get, 100%, why Jewish folks would want an Israel to exist! I've been around a lot of Jewish folks and spaces, I've seen the antisemitism happen, and goodness knows it doesnt take a PHD in history to know that Jewish folks trying to live in countries controlled by non-Jews hasnt gone well. So yeah, I do get why the logic then leads to "Lets make our own country then!", even if I disagree with the concept of an ethnostate in principle.
I can also get why they chose the area they did, because like. The Tanakh states that Isaac, son of Abraham, got the land of Israel (called Canaan at the time), because of Abraham's willingness to obey G_d. Its kinda like the origin story of Judaism iirc (I'm still studying so Jewish friends please correct me if I'm wrong on like. Literally any of this lol), and so its very deep at the core of Jewish thought. Again, I have disagreements here, the Palestineans had been on that land for ages before Israel became Israel again, and just ousting them isnt fair to them, but I get where it comes from.
And heck, here's one where I get hate from the other pro-Palestine people on sometimes: I'm anti-Hamas too! I do understand Hamas' anger, again, I get both sides, and from their perspective they were forced from their homes and now have to live as second-class citizens in a space they called home for GENERATIONS! Not to mention the number of pre-October violent actions, including massacres, that Israel has taken against Palestineans. Of course they'd be pissed! But taking civilians hostage, launching bombs...I'm against these maneuvers no matter how justified your anger is. Just because Palestine is the victim with the most deaths or Israel has overwhelmingly more power doesnt functionally change that for me.
But what I consider the completely impossible to comprehend part is the conclusion that genocide of Palestineans is necessary. I mean, there's well over 14000 children *dead* because of Israel! If I accept there's no justifications for Hamas' actions then I must by necessity accept that there's also no justifications for Israel's! And we know these are at least reasonably real numbers because Israel itself uses them, as they havent even been keeping track of the death they wreak across the landscape. We now know of several mass graves, with evidence people were thrown in *still alive* to die crushed to death by corpses. I can't see this as okay, and I can't see why so many people can. Even if i follow the logic along that Jewish folks need a country of their own, and it HAS to be there, and Hamas did some horrible shit, there's just no way you can make me think 14,000 dead children is an acceptable price to pay.

did you know that jews don’t try and convert people? in fact if you tell a rabbi you want to convert you will need to insist multiple times, and acknowledge the fact that you are joining a minority group and know what that entails.
now that I have your attention I want to talk to you about Judaism. most people know that Judaism exists as a religion but they don't know much and often think they know a lot of stuff that isn't true so I'm gonna bust a few common myths for you if you care to read on.
1: judiasm doesn't put any focus on the afterlife most people assume that jews like many other religions belief in an afterlife that you must do good in life to get into. while judisam does have an afterlife, it isn't in the primary teachings like Christianity.
2: jews do things because of tradition. most of the practices are carried on for tradition, you follow it because its what your ancestors did. and what you ancestors died or were inslaved or discriminated apon for. while yeas supposedly god did say those rules originally.
3: you don’t need to believe in god to be a jew. aka, tons of jews are atheists jewishness is just as much a cultural identity as it is a religion, and some smaller groups exist within it such as ashkenazi and sephardic which have their own foods, practices, and yes, actual ethnicities that you can sometimes tell by looking at them. its a religion, but its also a cultural and ethnic identity.
4: hannuka isnt an important holiday historically with modern press and times you would get the impression its our big festival holiday, however its not. its only a big deal because of Chrismas. the important jewish festival meal is the passover or pesach seder, a ritual meal during spring celebrating the jews escape from Egypt.
5: jews argue about the meanings of things. its a whole deal, along with our holy text we copy and reprint a text many times the size of rabbi’s arguing about the meanings of lines. at passover seder we read the old arguments of rabbi’s about the passover story and add in our own arguments. if you ask your rabbi for advice on something and then argue with him based on your reading or understanding of the text you will probably be rewarded.
a lot of people think jews are just “old christans” and that chrisantiy is just a better/newer version of an older religion. its not. its just not. they are different religions with a shared root, and a lot of the above misconceptions are because of that.
I’m open to talk about my jewishness and what i know about the religion and ashkenazi jews, but I have one final fact.
take a minute and take a guess at what percent of the world’s population is jewish? what about California(hint, its the state with the highest proportion of all the usa)? save your answer in your mind, then read on.
less than one percent of the world is jewish (<1%), and only three percent of California(3%).
let that sink in.
everyone knows about jews. well everyone’s heard about them. but in all honesty people don’t know much. jews have been a minority that gets picked on for almost all of our existence. almost all jewish holidays can be summarized as “they tried to kill us, they failed, lets eat.”(passover, purim, and chanuka are all prime examples).  Golems, a old piece of jewish folklore are made to protect jews from discrimination(specifically a thing called blood libel in the original tale). discrimination on us is the majority of our history
please, give one of the smallest, oldest, most well known minorities a chance to represent itself.
goyim(non-jews) are encouraged to re-blog, and ask polite, genuine questions.
(also, last thing to clear up, just because someone is a jew, that doesn't mean they have a political opinion about Israel, it is not appropriate to ask about it unless they openly talk about world politics or assume an opinion based on the fact they are jewish)

Were Democrats Or Republicans For Slavery
Presidency Of Martin Van Buren
Democrats Responsible for Slavery, Republican Party for Abolition.mp4
The Presidency of Martin Van Buren was hobbled by a long economic depression called the Panic of 1837. The presidency promoted hard money based on gold and silver, an independent federal treasury, a reduced role for the government in the economy, and a liberal policy for the sale of public lands to encourage settlement; they opposed high tariffs to encourage industry. The Jackson policies were kept, such as Indian removal and the Trail of Tears. Van Buren personally disliked slavery but he kept the slaveholder’s rights intact. Nevertheless, he was distrusted across the South.
The 1840 Democratic convention was the first at which the party adopted a platform. Delegates reaffirmed their belief that the Constitution was the primary guide for each state’s political affairs. To them, this meant that all roles of the federal government not specifically defined fell to each respective state government, including such responsibilities as debt created by local projects. Decentralized power and states’ rights pervaded each and every resolution adopted at the convention, including those on slavery, taxes, and the possibility of a central bank. Regarding slavery, the Convention adopted the following resolution:
What Happened In 1969
The war in Vietnam came to a head. The democrats under Kennedy had gotten us into the war and then after Kennedy was killed President Johnson continued and grew our presence in Vietnam.
Peoples opposition to the war became the focus of the democrat party and the emotional democrats became the protagonists for eliminating the policies that kept blacks in the back of the bus as well as free love and marijuana.
I was young at the time and this is the Democratic Party i remember which were opposed to real things. There was a war in vietnam. People were dying. There was segregation.
Republicans didnt resist outlawing segregation. The resistance was focused on the remaining segregationists in the Democratic Party. Strom Thurmond a democrat from the south fillibustered the passage of the civil rights act.
In 1968 the democrats held a national convention. This convention devolved into riots and was the watershed for racism and the Democratic Party. The racists were ejected from the Democratic Party ostensibly.
Democrats today claim that in 1969 what happened is that the racists in the Democratic Party moved to the Republican Party.
There is no evidence of this. Storm Thurmond, Robert Byrd never switched parties. Robert Byrd a former KKK leader stayed a democrat until he retired from the senate in 2010. Biden called Byrd a mentor.
Biden was one of the most outspoken opponents of busing.
None of that is true.
If you arent a democrat then they dont want you in the identity group.
After The Civil War Democrats Continued To Fight Against Equality For Blacks
For 100 years the democrats staged a rear guard action seeking to keep blacks subservient and doing their bidding.
They passed laws to limit black peoples ability to vote, to sit on the front of the bus, to own land, to rent apartments, to go to the same schools and many other things.
If anyone owes black people reparations it is these democrats.
Given this history of democrats it is stunning that the Democratic Party continues to exist. Shouldnt it be disbanded? We are tearing down statues, removing names of historically racist people and institutions so why not destroy the Democratic Party? It is slavery and was the principal advocate of slavery. They also were heavily involved in passing racist laws, hanging blacks and many republicans who opposed the democrats.
Why would anyone want to be part of a party that was historically so critical and central to the whole effort to enslave and repress blacks?
People have a tendency not to be partisan and to label this as white Americans that did this but it was the Democrats. Republicans were the ones fighting it. If not for those republicans the black people in America would never have been freed or gotten voting rights or many other things that had to be fought. Many white republicans were killed by democrats even after the end of the civil war who were called sympathizers.
Again, why doesnt this basic fact that is indisputable matter?
Those blacks who could vote between 1860 and 1969 voted for republicans.

Political Firsts For Women And Minorities
From its inception in 1854 to 1964, when Senate Republicans pushed hard for passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 against a filibuster by Senate Democrats, the GOP had a reputation for supporting blacks and minorities. In 1869, the Republican-controlled legislature in Wyoming Territory and its Republican governor John Allen Campbell made it the first jurisdiction to grant voting rights to women. In 1875, California swore in the first Hispanic governor, Republican Romualdo Pacheco. In 1916, Jeannette Rankin of Montana became the first woman in Congressand indeed the first woman in any high level government position. In 1928, New Mexico elected the first Hispanic U.S. Senator, Republican . In 1898, the first Jewish U.S. Senator elected from outside of the former Confederacy was Republican Joseph Simon of Oregon. In 1924, the first Jewish woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives was Republican Florence Kahn of California. In 1928, the Republican U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Charles Curtis of Kansas, who grew up on the Kaw Indian reservation, became the first person of significant non-European ancestry to be elected to national office, as Vice President of the United States for Herbert Hoover.
A New Political Party
Tumblr media
After passing all these pro-slavery laws, in May 1854, a number of anti-slavery members in Congress formed a new political party to fight slavery. These anti-slavery members were from the Whigs, Free Soil advocates and Emancipationists. They wanted to gain equal rights for black Americans.
The name of that party? They called it the Republican Party. They chose this name because they wanted to return to the principles of freedom and equality. These are the principles first put forth in the documents of the republic before the pro-slavery Congressional members had misused and manipulated to their own purposes those original principles.

The New Deal Era: 19321939
After Roosevelt took office in 1933, New Deal legislation sailed through Congress at lightning speed. In the 1934 midterm elections, ten Republican senators went down to defeat, leaving them with only 25 against 71 Democrats. The House of Representatives was also split in a similar ratio. The “Second New Deal” was heavily criticized by the Republicans in Congress, who likened it to class warfare and socialism. The volume of legislation, as well as the inability of the Republicans to block it, soon made the opposition to Roosevelt develop into bitterness and sometimes hatred for “that man in the White House. Former President Hoover became a leading orator crusading against the New Deal, hoping unrealistically to be nominated again for president.
Most major newspaper publishers favored Republican moderate Alf Landon for president. In the nation’s 15 largest cities the newspapers that editorially endorsed Landon represented 70% of the circulation. Roosevelt won 69% of the actual voters in those cities by ignoring the press and using the radio to reach voters directly.
Roosevelt carried 46 of the 48 states thanks to traditional Democrats along with newly energized labor unions, city machines and the Works Progress Administration. The realignment creating the Fifth Party System was firmly in place. Since 1928, the GOP had lost 178 House seats, 40 Senate seats and 19 governorships, though it retained a mere 89 seats in the House and 16 in the Senate.
Southernization; Oh That Sounds Fun Wait It Isnt
From the 1960s to the 2000s a southernization of the Republican party occurs. Paired with Goldwater and;Hoover states rights conservatism and along;with old Anti-Communist ideology, it was enough to completely change the political parties.
From the late 1800s to the 2000s Republican progressives moved toward the Democratic Party and Southern Conservatives moved toward the Republican party. See;the New Deal Coalition and Conservative Coalition.
The grand result is that the David Dukes of the world today fly the Confederate Battle flag and vote Republican.
This story;is a major reason why the voter map looks the way it does.
Meanwhile, while we can still see Gores and Clintons, and sometimes even a Byrd, in the modern Democratic party, those Redeemer and Redeemed liberals made a conscious choice to ally with the dominate Progressive and Neoliberal factions in this cycle.

What Does Republican Mean
The word republicanmeans of, relating to, or of the nature of a republic. Similarly to the word democratic, the word republican also describes things that resemble or involve a particular form of government, in this case the government in question is a republic. A republic is a government system in which power rests with voting citizens who directly or indirectly choose representatives to exercise political power on their behalf.;
You may have noticed that a republic sounds a lot like a democracy. As it happens, most of the present-day democracies are also republics. However, not every republic is democratic and not every democratic country is a republic.
For example, the historical city-state of Venice had a leader known as a doge who was elected by voters. In the case of Venice, though, the voters were a small council of wealthy traders, and the doge held his position for life. Venice and other similar mercantile city-states had republican governments, but as you can see, they were definitely not democratic. At the same time, the United Kingdom is a democratic country that has a monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, and so it is not a republican country because it is not officially a republic.;
Slavery And The Emergence Of The Bipartisan System
Civil Rights and Slavery – Republican and Democrat Parties – Prager University
From 1828 to 1856 the Democrats won all but two presidential elections . During the 1840s and 50s, however, the Democratic Party, as it officially named itself in 1844, suffered serious internal strains over the issue of extending slavery to the Western territories. Southern Democrats, led by Jefferson Davis, wanted to allow slavery in all the territories, while Northern Democrats, led by Stephen A. Douglas, proposed that each territory should decide the question for itself through referendum. The issue split the Democrats at their 1860 presidential convention, where Southern Democrats nominated John C. Breckinridge and Northern Democrats nominated Douglas. The 1860 election also included John Bell, the nominee of the Constitutional Union Party, and Abraham Lincoln, the candidate of the newly established antislavery Republican Party . With the Democrats hopelessly split, Lincoln was elected president with only about 40 percent of the national vote; in contrast, Douglas and Breckinridge won 29 percent and 18 percent of the vote, respectively.
Don’t Miss: Are There More Democrats Or Republicans In Us
On This Day The Republican Party Names Its First Candidates
On July 6, 1854, disgruntled voters in a new political party named its first candidates to contest the Democrats over the issue of slavery. Within six and one-half years, the newly christened Republican Party would control the White House and Congress as the Civil War began.
For a brief time in the decade before the Civil War, the Democratic Party of Andrew Jackson and his descendants enjoyed a period of one-party rule. The Democrats had battled the Whigs for power since 1836 and lost the presidency in 1848 to the Whig candidate, Zachary Taylor. After Taylor died in office in 1850, it took only a few short years for the Whig Party to collapse dramatically.
There are at least three dates recognized in the formation of the Republican Party in 1854, built from the ruins of the Whigs. The first is February 24, 1854, when a small group met in Ripon, Wisconsin, to discuss its opposition to the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The group called themselves Republicans in reference to Thomas Jeffersons Republican faction in the American republics early days. Another meeting was held on March 20, 1854, also in Ripon, where 53 people formally recognized the movement within Wisconsin.
On July 6, 1854, a much-bigger meeting in Jackson, Michigan was attended by about 10,000 people and is considered by many as the official start of the organized Republican Party. By the end of the gathering, the Republicans had compiled a full slate of candidates to run in Michigans elections.
Culture Conflict And Al Smith
At the 1924 Democratic National Convention, a resolution denouncing the Ku Klux Klan was introduced by Catholic and liberal forces allied with Al Smith and Oscar W. Underwood in order to embarrass the front-runner, William Gibbs McAdoo. After much debate, the resolution failed by a single vote. The KKK faded away soon after, but the deep split in the party over cultural issues, especially prohibition, facilitated Republican landslides in 1924 and 1928. However, Al Smith did build a strong Catholic base in the big cities in 1928 and Franklin D. Roosevelt‘s election as Governor of New York that year brought a new leader to center stage.
the myth of the Democratic Party masterfully re-created, a fresh awareness of the elemental differences between the parties, and ideology with which they might make sense of the two often senseless conflicts of the present, and a feeling for the importance of dynamic leadership. The book was a mirror for Democrats.
You May Like: Are Any Republicans Running Against President Trump
Presidency Of Andrew Jackson
The spirit of Jacksonian democracy animated the party from the early 1830s to the 1850s, shaping the Second Party System, with the Whig Party as the main opposition. After the disappearance of the Federalists after 1815 and the Era of Good Feelings , there was a hiatus of weakly organized personal factions until about 18281832, when the modern Democratic Party emerged along with its rival, the Whigs. The new Democratic Party became a coalition of farmers, city-dwelling laborers and Irish Catholics. Both parties worked hard to build grassroots organizations and maximize the turnout of voters, which often reached 80 percent or 90 percent of eligible voters. Both parties used patronage extensively to finance their operations, which included emerging big city political machines as well as national networks of newspapers.
Behind the party platforms, acceptance speeches of candidates, editorials, pamphlets and stump speeches, there was a widespread consensus of political values among Democrats. As Mary Beth Norton explains:
The party was weakest in New England, but strong everywhere else and won most national elections thanks to strength in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the American frontier. Democrats opposed elites and aristocrats, the Bank of the United States and the whiggish modernizing programs that would build up industry at the expense of the yeoman or independent small farmer.
Why It Doesnt Make Sense To Equate Modern Democrats With The Old Southern Democrats
Tumblr media
The Democrats, formally the;anti-Federalists,;had an;aversion to aristocracy from the late 1700s to the progressive era.
That truism;led to the southern conservatives of the solid south like;John C. Calhoun and small government liberals like Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, and Martin Van Buren allying;in the same party;for most of U.S. history.
However,;that changed;after Civil Rights under LBJ and the rise of Goldwater States Rights Republicans .
Today the solid south, and figures like Jeff Sessions, are in an alliance in the big tent of the Republican Party . This was as much a response to the growing progressiveness of the Democratic Party as anything.
One simple way to confirm this is to look at the factions of;Lincolns time. There were four. They;were:
The Northern liberal Whig/Republicans, The;Nativist Know-Nothing; allies of the Whig/Republicans, The Southern Democrats and their Northern allies , and The;Free Soil;;allies of the Democrats who;took a libertarian like position.
Todays Democrats are more like socially liberal Whig/Republicans , libertarians are like Free Soilers , Trumpians are like Nativist Know-Nothings , and Southern Democrats are like the modern Southern conservative Republicans.
The current parties are thus:
Social Liberals and Neoliberals vs. Social Conservatives and Neoliberal Conservatives AKA Neocons .
Clearly, the country has never been fully polarized, even at its most polarized.

The Second Bush Era: 20002008
George W. Bush, son of George H. W. Bush, won the 2000 Republican presidential nomination over Arizona Senator John McCain, former Senator Elizabeth Dole and others. With his highly controversial and exceedingly narrow victory in the 2000 election against the Vice President Al Gore, the Republican Party gained control of the Presidency and both houses of Congress for the first time since 1952. However, it lost control of the Senate when Vermont Senator James Jeffords left the Republican Party to become an independent in 2001 and caucused with the Democrats.
In the wake of the on the United States in 2001, Bush gained widespread political support as he pursued the War on Terrorism that included the invasion of Afghanistan and the invasion of Iraq. In March 2003, Bush ordered for an invasion of Iraq because of breakdown of United Nations sanctions and intelligence indicating programs to rebuild or develop new weapons of mass destruction. Bush had near-unanimous Republican support in Congress plus support from many Democratic leaders.
Bush failed to win conservative approval for Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court, replacing her with Samuel Alito, whom the Senate confirmed in January 2006. Bush and McCain secured additional tax cuts and blocked moves to raise taxes. Through 2006, they strongly defended his policy in Iraq, saying the Coalition was winning. They secured the renewal of the USA PATRIOT Act.

20. I love Lauren but shouldnt her accent be included when she sings
21. I love Jeff’s reaction
22. I may get some hate for this but what was bothering me in tgwdlm and i notice in starkid is lack of fan comments in the captions
23. As a theatre fan i love the toy zone song (i am not sure if thats the right name) espcially the do wop becuase it reminds me of older musicals
24. Also since i watched tgwdlm and black friday a day apart its weird to come from songs happening because they are infected to songs happening cause its a musical
25. i love the love the line we are not relaibly to anyone who dies becuase they clearly show in the trailer that someone will die (this is not a spoiler if you watch the trailer for Black Friday)
26. I love Corey but when he dances i notice a bulge (i am not a perv he makes it very obvious)
27. So i rewinded it to make sure i wanst going crazy and realized something as lex says the pepper spray line. She would be good as janis ian
28. I love the touch money part its so cute even if its not supposed to be
29. Jaime plays a perv really well
30. I love Jon’s charecter its hilarious
31. Also i love jon and lauren interactions so it was cool seeing them together not as paul and emma
32. I love seeing more of Jon because although hes reaally good at playing paul paul doesnt have any flavor and its cool seeing jon do something diffrent
33. Jeff’s fuck you
34. Okay I was right it was the homeless guy and i bet the money is paul’s money
35. And this is not a sterotpye as i am jewish myself but i bet Laurens charecter is jewish
36. Its sad that the price thing is true
37. So i am a theatre fan and do not watch got but that music kinda reminds me of got
38. Cant tell if jeff’s charecter is gay and a perv or just a perv (i realzie this could be mmisinterpreted as homophobic i just mean to say that jamie’s charecter just seems like a full out perv where as i cant tell with jeff’s)
39. Obviously you shouldnt be that insane but i do like the lines about how you are in charge of life and dont care about what others think. its goood life advice
39. Looks like Paul’s boss got his wish
40. They are all idiots for holding up the doll when everyone wants to get it
41. Corey’s charecter is like shit, money isnt that imporant

43. Shouldnt tom get ptsd (see above)
44. Lex you already have one (see above)
45. So i may be overthinking things but how curt says never should settle is in the tune of spies are forever
46. Is it just me or did anyone else notice when the security guard comes in the tune of show me your hands comes in
47. I dont know why but i do love soft bullies because hes like hey im punching you but only for the kid
48. Some may say its schizo or something hannah has but its anxiery or something from how shes expressing it

53. Jon’s eee is adorable and silly
54. Wait hes alive
55. Wait no hes dead, im sad liek starkid is supposed to be fun and happy this is the darkest star kid yet. Even oregon deaths were silly
56. I love starkid but this is making me anxious i cant tell if its good anxious or bad anxious
57. Also i relate to the black and white thing not fully but liek whenever i dont feel well sometimes my brain is overstimulating but only in my head its very hard to explain
58. Also i think sometimes kids on the spectrum and im not an expert but i do have it kind of make a friend in their head and i do that too sometimes just to give me advice
59. Also i hope they dont get rid of the black and white as sometimes people go more crazy without the figurative voice in their head
60. Like i said this is going to be random order so i like that emma adopted paul;s Okay and no im not making a tfios refrence
61. Poor Tim
62. Poor becky but even less
63. i thought they were supposed to be mad at g-d but in this and tgwdlm they like g-d
64. I cant tell the other pins on joey’s jacket but the first two i notice are mr wiggly and paul
65. I love Lauren’s acting you can see the very sublte sadness in her
66. Lauren and Joey together ahhhh
67. I know its probaly not a big deal but they should give a seziure warning before the tv scene
68. Did they reuse curts spies are forever outfit
69. Really starkid the obama refrence seriously, i cant tell if im mad or laughing
70. How did Bob get one
71. I do realize they are talking irl but i cant help but wonder if the nazis were a spies are forever refrence
72. Does wiggly have a special power or something
73. I think its similar to the metero the closer you are the more power it has over you
74. The starkid special effects we all know and love
75. Also is that mcnamara
76. Also maybe shooting it (the doll) does the same thing that shooting the affceted does. Give them no power
77. I cant tell what the music reminds me of exactly but the tune does kinda refrence a diffrent star kid song
78. Jeff looks so proud of himself for the peeps line
79. I love the purposeful i presume reuse of lines
80. Is peip like men in black
81. Also hatchetfield kind of reminds me of night vale
82. Is the black and white like the upside down?
83. I wonder if the point was purposeful since someone was filming or just choreographed

update to the “a confession” feasco.
if you dont k ow what im talking about just look up “a confession” on my page and read all the way through . (its an unorganized mess im so sorry)(my name is chloe plz ignore that.
f:For the racist thing- A country with two different races might have a bad history with each other. So generally the country that got the beat down the most is gonna hate the other, so that country's people are gonna be racist and against them. With the stealing thing- Animals steal eggs and what not all of the time. Also with artifacts the governments take those and preserve those for the future. Racism is bad I understand that because it usually is because of someone's skin which is wrong to be against someone for there skin tone. Stealing is also bad, like robbery and shoplifting and so on
me:you do realize that you just used like , three natoriously rasist talkinhg points used by kkk members all the time right?
me:you think that humans are naturally rasist because of a war and the winners tell the story and the losers are bitter about it? in this case the losers of this "beat down" being africa?the "rasism is natural" thing . the "africa is just bitter" thing.or are you sayig whights were the victims? which in that case is the "whights are being attacked" thing
f:Both aren't necessarily wrong actually
we are not like dumb animals, we have the ability to know when we sis something wrong .yes animals steal but the full grown people who grave robbed thoghs tombs did so because they thought they could and should have known etter
and the "its for there own good were just keeping them safe" thing implies the people we stole it from wont take care of it. even if they dont its not our call cause the mummys are not ours, its not like they want the artifacts any less tha we do
So you're saying we shouldn't take artifacts and preserve them and let people destroy them and sell them off.
Chloe it assumes we just love these mummys more than they do and were scarered they will hurt it so that completly justifies us keeping it from them.we should ask permission first
That's what they do
Chloethe whole "its for preservation" thing is exactly what the british museum said when people lobied for the artifacts to be moved to and african museum.
"they"
africans fuin and sell there artifacts as trinkets?thats ALSO a rasist sterio type.
That's just how the world is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Chloe no it isnt you have been fed propaganda and you dont even know itall the things you said have been used by the kkk constantlyits like ypur reading right out of there apologetic s book.
I don't see the problem in that. I'm a person of history. Does it help to mention that my preferred ideology is Socialist-Imperialist. Does it also help to say that I'm also Atheist/Satanist. I'm also a Republican and conservative. I also see things from abroad. I also believe history should be preserved at all costs. You sent Today at 12:18 AMif you knew the hystorical contexts of the arguments you just used i dont think you would be usseing them

therapy today included me:
- theorizing that my social needs/wants/abilities have gone, during the pandemic, from me having regressed to middle school of only talking to a few people (although much less toxic!!!!) and not wanting to interact with anyone else and being vaguely afraid of interacting with anyone else, to high school of me interacting with a few people i know in person (but now its virtual just i KNOW them from in person) and yet wanting to interact with strangers online from a fandom-forward or special-interest-forward perspective rather than like.... where are we where are we in life and whatever that is Normal Interaction
- requesting to go back to once/week rather than twice/week because im getting like therapy claustrophobic. its going Too Fast and i Need A Break. Accellerated Healing did not work
- talking about my old job and how im really struggling to move forward partially because there are so many seperate threads or like, seperate stories that are All True but not fully complete (like, i moved across the country for a job and felt isolated in the new place and struggled to make friends and to get fulfillment mostly from the job itself, and then it didnt work out so i went back home. or i started a new job and was not welcomed into the workplace as a queer person and felt separate from the other staff and struggled to integrate into the workplace community and conversation and left. or i started my first new job and had organizational issues partly because of ADHD and did not find adequate supports but also didn't successfully push myself through it to do better and ended up being put on a performance plan and let go. and i started my first job and then got let go because of the pandemic. and then the mental health story. and more. and all are true, and mix together, but i dont know where to go from there with ALL of them at ONCE its overwhelming and i dont know how to know if i would succeed at another job or succeed at another job in the jewish field or with students or anything or how much was on them vs on me or what i can do from there and there's no blueprint, theres no story i can read about someone who went through the same thing and made it out, and it reminds me of not being able to find queer stories that show me what someone like me might do with themselves with their lives for their love for happiness for success for survival
- then i transitioned to talking about this post and how different books, specifically ari & dante, ella enchanted, and red white and royal blue, show this. and that the hardest part for me isnt knowing what word to use for myself but thinking about what im even looking for or wanting in my life, if a romantic/sexual partner is something i even want or should keep in my mind as i plan for my future or if its not, because i would change how i thought about and went through my life if i knew for sure i didnt want that but i DONT so im sitll here questioning how i feel about certain friendships, still here feeling alone rather than just content with what i have and planning only close FRIENDSHIPS and platonic closeness around my life in the future rather than imagining a hypothetical partner. thinking about myself as 24 years single vs thinking about myself as having checked the box of that part of life, and literally not worrying about it anymore. thinking about myself as late blooming vs as just, done and complete already.
-also talked about how much i love aristotle and dante and ella enchanted in particular but especially ari & dante and then benjamine alire sáenz himself and his story and last night i sang to the monster
- how i dont know how i'll ever get the answers to the do-i-want-a-life-partner-like-that question becasue the only way to do it is to actually kind of, experience/expirement with where im at with another person who would need to be 1) okay with that/into that, knowing i dont know 2) need to KNOW that i dont know which means id need to tell them 3) someone that i am feeling the confusing feelings i experience sometimes for, meaning a close friend? dnt wanna ruin that???

hp update: its been a long time, boys. ud think that with this plague outbreak id have more time for shitty phone games, and ud be right! however, the time i normally might use to make tumblr posts has been taken up by reading lotr orc fanfiction non-stop for at least 1 full month. id still be in the thick of that obsession even now if only the fics would update. that is how i find you today folks, for the first time in many weeks i am staring at a screen with nothing to do. so come with me friends, theres no better way to fill the soulless void we are all in than reading a nice long tumbler post.
disclaimer, first of all, a lot has happened, i prefer to keep these updates as plot spoiler free as possible but do to extenuating circumstances i feel like it is necessary to say, [SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER BELOW]
that rowan fucking died,
i wont say exactly how, but i will say that her death was animated as were animations of myself and a few others reacting to our friend fresh corpse. obviously meant to be serious moments but the animations made it seem almost comical.
i saw at least one post going around right after this update that was like ‘how could the game devs do this to us..... how could they hate rowan so.... this is punishment from on high’ and its like.... u guys do know what a story is right? the events of  a story are not typically done to punish less faithful fans, im pretty sure they were planning to kill rowan off from the beginning. this isnt disney im pretty sure the writers are not writing each chapter the night before its released by popular vote.
that little “are we drifting away..?” scene with rowan makes more sense now. there was a bit in one of the scenes where the kids all reminisce on rowans life and the mc talks about it being the last real one on one time they had with rowan. a nice bitter sweet moment. i dont hate this turn of events. its a good reminder that actions have consequences and we are way past they days of “should i wear a hat or scarf?” its YA time now.
i did manage to take 1 screenshot from this time, i had commented that before that when rowan said she didnt have many friedns that barnaby seemed to be hanging out with her without be there as a friend buffer and here was his reaction to her death:
Tumblr media
;_;
the funniest part in all of this however, was of course cedericks reaction to rowans death “but she was so young....” LOL fuckin RIP.
lets see... what else.... i forget a lot of what happened but i think there was a time sensitive quidditch event in there somewhere? if so i  dont remember it. what i do remember of the quidditch pals is that im gonna play beater now, skye is being weird and cagey about it, andre is involved.... the others are there.....
sidenote, i love the shitty b characters they throw in to be like yes you know this person but no they are not cool enough for u to even think about befriending. the first one of those is face paint kid, and now we have another, who is a former beater girl with horrible bangs named bean who didnt go to any classes for a whole season so she could just play ball 24/7 and got kicked off the team.  this is a character who only exists to provide an explanation as to why there would be a beater position open but i love them on principle.
right now im in the midst of another time sensitive event, this one is a bother-your-brother-at-work-day event where recent hogwarts graduate bill weasley is bullied by myself and his younger brother charlie into letting us go with him on one of his curse breaking jobs.
so for those unfamiliar, bill works for the magical bank of england.... and his job seems to be “retrieving treasure” for said bank. in the books, there is a bit where he takes his family on one of his trips to egypt, where his job seemed to have been tomb plundering indiana jones style for the posterity of the english bank :X. i wont explain here why thats bad but its bad.
the game devs however in this instance, at least SEEM to be doing what jkr couldnt do by attempting to salvage what is left of gringotts bank and form it into not a super shitty implications factory run by horrible jewish caricatures. bills mission is to retrieve a goblin made artifact that was taken by dragons, so no going to foreign countries to steal things from other people! only going to a dragon reserve to rifle through animal nests. they even appear to be providing us with a likable goblin character, egad!
my hope for this event is that we get a plotline about how maybe, goblins arent shifty human haters for no reason, and in fact they hate magic humans for very understandable reasons, like being forced to go into hiding with the rest of the magical world even though only the humans wanted to do that, and maybe despite running the bank in england they still dont have a lot of political sway in the world of wizards and witches, and have to rely on the faith that said wizards and witches wont fuck them over at every turn, even as they see how they treat other non-humans, such as house elves, which they desperately dont want to end up like. and maybe they DONT only care about gold... maybe thats a human stereotype based on the fact that theres a long history of humans not respecting goblin ownership customs.... which i could get into..... but i wont.... i just....... very badly dont want them to suck ;__________;
i know i said its ok to still like a piece of media as long as you recognize the problems with it, and i do, but once this game is done im gonna stop hp posting all together. ive been feeling more and more uncomfortable making these posts lately.
GENERAL GAME NOTES; theres been some new layout changes and such.
most notably the stairs screen has been changed from a bulleted list of all locations to a screen with tiles picturing an image of each location along with the name + icons of all classes at each place. there is one additional location that is new and yet to be unlocked, and the dragon reservation is appearing temporarily as its own tile as well. i prefer this method of getting in and out of a temporary location to how they did it with car during the last christmas special. the stairs icon also now stays in the corner when you scroll through locations, allowing you to open the stairs menu without scrolling all the way back to the left.
they also moved a few of the buttons down into the lower left corner rather than the left side & combined the story button and sidequest button. they added a little camera button as well, just like in the dormitory, that makes all the icons in a location disappear and look better for screenshots.
the daily special add offer thing now has its own button in the top right corner of the screen, and idk if i mentioned it before but now there are daily challenges that appear in the sidequest screen that offer small rewards for completing 3 tasks per day + a better one if u get all 3. the prizes are things like 4 energy, 75 coins, 3 monster food. the better rewards are usually either more coins, 8 energy, 3 gems, or 1 notebook. i think that it does all the different color notebooks but i cant remember for sure if i ever saw the gold one up as a reward. i like this addition in any case. if you dont pick up ur reward by the end of the day, the next time u log on it will force u to stop and accept them, and if one of the rewards is energy and ur energy bar is full, it does not seem to stack beyond the bar so watch out.
the character stats page is now more zoomed out so you can see your full character instead of just from the waist up. no change to the leaderboard. rowans face in the friendship roster is now a still black and white image that says ur friend may be gone but friendship is forever u-u.
rowan has been removed from all classes. in the classes where the minigames involved her, those minigames have passed the mantle onto other friends in the class. in potions that person is now liz helping u find stuff off the shelves and in tranfiguration that person is badeea. bless these girls for helping mc get through it. touched my heart.
theres been a few fun little “i know u have more free time now so uhhhh have some energy” prizes like they do sometimes when they dont update on schedule so thats been nice. just a few days ago they gifted us 3 gold notebooks the same way. :O.
theres also been a few instances of a energy happy hour where for a limited time energy takes less time to refresh. normally it takes 4 mins for 1 energy to do this but during happy hour its like 2:30 mins. :U its all very interesting.
and that will have to do it for tonight my friends, ill do a post for the dragon event when its done because i do like it so far and i do like getting to bully bill with charlie.
until next time, remember.......

Monday and Friday tag game :)
Tagged by @saintgarbanzo ! It isnt monday or friday but here's the thing...time isn't real...
relationship status I'm pretty sure I'm aro bc any time someone wants to date me I feel physically ill but living vicariously through fictional characters' romantic lives and also a mostly hypothetical slut these days as i'm chronically ill and am not risking covid thanks
favorite food my formula? (I have a feeding tube) it lets me not die which is pretty rad. I drink like 6 cups of tea a day tho if I can pick a drink instead- Irish Breakfast with a bit of cream and sugar or iced tea.
favorite color green :)
song stuck in your head Moments Silence (Common Tongue) by Hozier v underrated. I'm a sucker for songs about religion and sex. I'm learning it on guitar so I've been listening to it over and over
last thing you googled "Rabbi Yohanan time period"
time time is made up and I don't wanna think about it
dream trip a cabin in the woods just like alone with my dog and some good reading. Fortunately, this is an achievable goal.
last book you read does a play count? "Titus Andronicus" if yes. The Queer God by Marcella Althaus-Reid if no.
last book you enjoyed Both The Queer God and Indecent Theology by Marcella Althaus-Reid. I'm a slut for Queer Theology.
last book you hated reading I'm not really a Titus Andronicus fan, but if we're talking hate then The Invisible Weevil by Mary Karooro Okurut. It's about the HIV Crisis in Uganda but it's just disgustingly and horrifically classist and victim-blaming and I wrote a 7 page paper about why it sucks
favorite thing to cook/bake biscuits! Sometimes I think I'm not that southern but then I remember I used to work at a biscuit place making biscuits and sausage gravy and shit all day. Also, I call mosquitos "skeeters" and called summer "iced tea season" the other day. so.
favorite craft to do I don't really craft? But I will fix anything. Give me a little hands-on helpful task and I'm happy as a clam. I would rather be invited over to hang a shelf than to watch a movie.
most niche dislikes the sensation of earbuds or headphones (they make the insides of my ears sweaty): when people call all nonpenetrative sex (especially PiV) foreplay.
opinion on circuses A bunch of my friends are circus people! I used to do acro. good group cuddle piles. 12/10.
Do you have a sense of direction and if not what’s the worst way you’ve gotten lost? no! My mom and I once got lost in rural Georgia and there was this very muscular attractive man wood chopping wood outside in the rain??? who gave us directions and I was sure we were going to be murdered.
last song you listened to Symphony For Strings by Dvorak. I don't have a story I just love it.
last show you watched The Musketeers. It's really bad but everyone is hot. Sexy sword fighting. I really love terrible shows that know they're terrible. You also have to try not to think about how they're all just old-timey cops.
currently watching nothing. I can't focus on watching things anymore for whatever reason. I can read for 18 hours a day but cannot focus on watching something for longer than 5 minutes.
currently reading The fall semester is starting so I'm currently reading Global Migration: Patterns, Processes, and Politics for my Migration and Displacement Class. I'm trying to only take one depressing class per semester now and this was my pick. It's genuinely very interesting but also owchie my heart
current obsessions Queer Talmud. Jewish Bondage. Homoerotic Chavruta relationships.

I ramble on about effeminate youtubers and how the man is keeping me down, no formatting just raw fucking truth bombs and red pills
There is a youtuber i watch, i like him as a person, i think hes funny, and i swear its like we grew up in the same neighborhood, his references even the really inside ones, i get. we grew up in the same region sort of. but hes your typical bugman, obviously im watching someone play video games on youtube, so its not like im a fucking lumberjack or anything. but i cant stand his political takes, literally have to shut the video off sometimes im so annoyed. hes always talking about getting the vaccine like hes stoked about it, and how well he followed lock down rules and so on. literally never met a dude in real life like that, not once in the entire year, except maybe in march of last year when this all first started happening. but i had a realization about him today, i am always obessed with obscure differences between men and womans behavior, i find it fascinating, the more slight the difference the better. i remember a few years back saying spotify was for girls, and getting in a bit of an argument with my sister about it, we looked it up and at the time (i believe this is no longer the case) ten percent more women than men used spotify, so not a big difference, but its the smaller ones that interest me, because its crazy to me that i can perceive the difference when its so slight like that. but anyway he used spotify, took the covid thing seriously, still watches television, and ninety day fiance specifically. basically if i saw this guy on paper i might presume he was a girl. i always considered city men a little more effeminate, the bugman stereotype is essentially just a feminine man, and this kind of reinforces that in my mind. also these kinds of men, were the only men allowed to get popular on youtube, youtube has been caught numerous times manipulating their search algorythm for politics. long story short, if i decided i wanted to be a lets player, and i put all my effort into that, and i was good at it too, you would never find me via the youtube search function and i would never get suggested to you. society as a whole promotes these kinds of men by filtering them out of colleges for instance by making liberal brainwashing classes a requirement for basically any degree now. a man who is actually intelligent literally cant sit through those classes without losing their fucking mind. this last part of this post, i doubt anyone will actually believe, but its actually what im most certain of. filtering smart men especially smart white men, out of respectable society is an absolute requirement to maintain a system based on lies like we have now. its not easy to see through the racial propaganda regiment we are all subjected to, and to see past the black vs white, left vs white, gay vs straight, man vs woman, cis vs trans, atheist vs christian, matrix of dichotomies our jewish establishment fostered in order to keep us divided, basically any man over 120 IQ would see through it eventually so long as they were interested in biology or history. as a result, i hate to say it, but they push women through the system, and now they are the majority of all degrees obtained even though less than half use their degrees towards a career. this is so much worse than people realize, its an absolute fucking disaster. it hurts men by flooding the job market with college degrees, and it hurts women by fooling them into spending their prim reproductive years being propagandized to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars for a degree  most of them will never use. but it filters out gifted whtie men, along with affirmative action, which is literally just preferential treatment for anyone who isnt white, the literal only example of institutionalized racism that actually exists.

@septemberfirst1989 asked for my unpopular bob's burgers opinions and im both sick and a little turnt so im gonna do it. Louigan is bad. Just bad. Smely. Not good. Bad ship. Louise is bi but mostly likes girls. Shes aro but would still be in a relationship but it wouldnt be conventional. Louise and rudy??? Grow up and are very good friends and he seems the type to marry and have kids and she'd be a cool aunt to them bc rudy has no siblings. Can u tell i like louise a lot Gene is panromantic ace-spec and when he grows up writing music and jingles and songs and whatnot he has a few kids with some guy or gal or person he loves and theyre sp happy and hes so good with kids bc he gets them and even as an adult he never loses that special magic and humor about him. Gene and linda are both add and they kinda relate over it sometimes None of the belchers are heterosexual sorry My eye is twitching violently hang on Tammy eventually works on herself and after a lot of development and ultimatums from friends she sorts her shit out. Jocelyn is a lesbian and i love her i love my 80s valley girl lesbian daughter. Zeke is like one of the best characters i love him Tina and jj doesnt work well as a ship to me but id love to see them grow as friends and then maybe?? Something? Jimmy jr is trans and jimmy almost cried when lil jimbert wanted to be called jimmy jr. Gene is nonbinary or genderfluid Bob and warren fitzgerald kinda tried bein boyfriends in high school but didnt want to ruin their friendship. Bob is bi bi bi (bi bi) Calvin is arospec pansexual and wpuld probably consider himself a demiguy or nb if he knew about that. Felix spent his inheritance on sleek postmodern design and the best transitioning money could buy. Cal was pretty active in the lgbtq+ scene in his younger days and always rly wanted to end up on broadway but life happened and also he got stabbed in the face when he was like 18. Linda was punk a s f u c k when she was young and she aint let bob forget it. The kids watch old movies with bob a lot and it influences some of their stories. Bob rly likes 70s and 80s stuff. This isnt exactly unpopular opinions but whatever Im belchoeder ot3 garbage but we already know that Bob has hemophilia and highkey worries abt his kids bc theres a chance they may have it or carry it. Bob is a spoonie he also has stomach issues and depression. Linda had a miscarriage before she was pregnant with louise and it affected her a lot even tho she tried not to let on that it did. Linda prolly had a gf or two at some point. Teddy deserves all the kindness of this earth also teddy would be a really amazing stepdad. Morts jewish dammit and hes bi with a preference for dudes and and and sometimes his work gets to him so the belchers leave him like a nice basket of things to cheer him up. Bob is cute hes so damn cutw im so damn gay id marry that boy if i could hot damn Wrev is so gay folks hes off the deep end here i go whoosh i go quietly into that gay night good night

okay here we go! for sol: 8, 35, 19; for hernandez: 45, 5, 13; for jericho: 3,17, 24; for nikola: 40, 43, 50; for nix, 9, 22, 29, for scott: 3, 36, 27; for hero: 34, 18, 6; for lynx: 10, 26, 44!! sorry if that's too many!!
anon i have no idea how you know all these characters enough to send me specific ones for their names, but i want you to know this is the best thing that has happened to me in weeks and you are the absolute light of my life. if you believe in a higher power i wish you blessings and happiness for years to come.
here we go!! (also this is so long im sorry, I tried to sort them if anybody is actually curious about any of them)
Sol-
8. did they have pets as a child? as an adult? do they like animals?
Dani Solis, or just Sol to her coworkers, is a mechanic who never quite understood living things. she grew up in outer space and never really had the opportunity to have a pet, although the constant traveling meant she got to see a ridiculous variety of life. When she was a little girl, she would sometimes find a cockroach or other bug on the ship and catch it, keeping it and feeding it until it died. it was never a very satisfying experience, probably adding to her obsession with immortal machines.
35. whats their guilty pleasure? what is their totally unguilty pleasure?
I’d call Eric her guilty pleasure. they would have ended up together if I hadn’t killed him off mid-breakdown. Most people live on a planet, but she doesn’t have one, so to her any sort of truly meaningful human connection is dangerous and off-limits. but she loves him deeply, although it scares her. Unguilty, I’d say shes kind of a hoarder. her bunk is full of knick-knacks from every corner of the explored universe. she spends pretty much her entire salary on it tbh
19. whats their least favorite genres?
if this is about literature, she thinks fantasy is stupid. if it’s music, she loves rap and techno but has never really been able to tolerate slow guitar pieces about how beautiful planet life is. think space-age country.
Hernandez-
45. How do other people see them? Is it similar to how they see themselves?
this is a big one for him. Captain Eric Hernandez is a trans man, so for a lot of his life yeah there was a massive difference. but after he transitioned, I would say the main difference would be that the people around him see him as cold, kind of scary. he’s not scary, he’s scared. he sees himself as small and weak, even after he straight up murdered his abuser and took his place as captain. His friends would say he is the strongest, bravest man they’ve ever known. They would be right.
5. Do they have any siblings? What’s their names? What is their relationship with them? Has their relationship changed since they were kids to adults?
He has two sisters and two brothers, I don’t know any of their names. He was very close with all of them and misses them every day. Since he ran away to avoid having to pretend to be a woman his whole life, and then murdered a guy, contacting any of them would have been massively dangerous. He couldn’t even tell any of them he was leaving because he wasn’t out to them. In the version of his story where he’s executed, they all get letters from Sol explaining everything. In the version where he lives, he sends the letters himself.
13. What is their least favorite food?
fish was never available to him as a kid, and he never acquired the taste.
Jericho-
3. Did they have a good childhood? What are fond memories they have of it? What’s a bad memory?
this isnt something i get to say about my ocs a lot, but he did. he had a lovely childhood. he grew up with a loving father in a huge, beautiful city where he was free to explore and learn to his hearts content. he has especially fond memories of wandering around the actual ground of the city where basically nobody ever goes, looking at bugs and mold and plants with his little junior scientist magnifying glass, looking them up on his computer-band. the worst ones were probably nights where his dad had to work and he was lonely in their apartment, bc those were the nights he wondered about his mom.
17. Do they like to take photos? What do they like to take photos of? Selfies? What do they do with their photos?
He’ll take photographs of cool specimen, but mostly he carries a journal and prefers to take notes. he takes notes on absolutely everything and has boxes and boxes of old notebooks in his closet at home.
24. What is their sleeping pattern like? Do they snore? What do they like to sleep on? A soft or hard mattress?
my boy jericho has very little trouble sleeping and is fine with the govt issues firm mattress. he is quiet and still and sleeps deeply.
Ok! switching universes! these characters are completely disconnected from those three.
Nikola Tchaikova-
40. Do they like energy drinks? Coffee? Sugary food? Or can they naturally stay awake and alert?
I’m not sure she’s ever even tried it. Nikola is a full blown alcoholic and anything that makes her feel more alert is probably not something she’s gonna enjoy. Her natural senses and awareness are absolutely through the roof, so it’s not something she really needs at all. She does like sweets though. Back when she had her family, her and her close companions use to sneak away sometimes and go out to the city for milkshakes and music, and those are probably her fondest memories.
43. Are they religious? What do they think of religion? What do they think of religious people? What do they think of non religious people?
When she was a very young girl she might have worshipped the christian/jewish/muslim god, or at least attempted to. For a young shifter where she grew up, life was rough, and she would have had a hard time finding the meaning in it all. but later in life, after the war, the major religion worshipped shifters and obviously that was ridiculous to her, so she kind of looks down on the whole thing. She might still be a little envious of the purpose and comfort that the worshippers get and that is missing so much from her life, but one of the main gods in their pantheon is based on her kid brother’s best friend. its hard to take that seriously. (the idea is that there were 5 original all powerful shifters who made the real world ones. this is wrong. shifters were a science experiment gotten out of control, and Nikola knows that.)
50. If they could only take one bag of stuff somewhere with them: what would they pack? What do they consider their essentials?
She would pack her knife, which her long dead brother gave her about 1500 years ago. she would take the pendant she wears, which was symbolic of the leadership position she used to hold before the people she was leading were all killed. She has a photo collection that she says never looks at out of fear of the light ruining them. Her best friend made her some copies, but she doesn’t look at those either. I think it hurts her to see the faces of the people she misses. She has a small bag of things tucked into the back of her closet that she never, ever touches or looks at. After the massacre that took her family, Angelo (the only survivor, her best friend) went through the carnage and collected the possessions of their friends. Nikola helped him bury them, but she couldn’t stand to take their things. he gave them to her afterwards, and she’s only every managed to take them out and look at them when she’s so drunk she knows she won’t remember the next day. But she would never leave them behind.
Nix-
9. Do animals like them? Do they get on well with animals?
Domenico “Nix” Tchaikova is Nikola’s son, so half-shifter. Shifters are, by necessity, a bit closer to nature than the rest of us, and even though he has almost no actual form changing abilities animals have always seemed to like him a bit more than his friends. He’s always assumed that it’s because of his prosthetic leg, that they realize he couldn’t chase them if he wanted to, but animals know things, and they can sense that he’s not quite the same as the other humans.
22. What are their favorite insults to use? What do they insult people for? Or do they prefer to bitch behind someone’s back?
Nix would never insult someone behind their back- he has a temper, and if you piss him off he’s gonna confront you on the spot. His insults tend not to be physical. he might call you ugly if hes real mad, but hes much more likely to call you a coward or an idiot. He gets hit a lot for this.
29. What do they do when they find out someone else’s fear? Do they tease them? Or get very over protective?
No, he’d never tease someone for being genuinely afraid. He knows fear too well to try and use it against people. If somebody he cared about was afraid of something, he would plant his tiny self between them and whatever it was no matter what. hes used to being seen as small and weak and incapable, and its resulted in a stupidly brave boy who gets himself into trouble a lot because he doesnt know when to back down.
Scott-
3. Did they have a good childhood? What are fond memories they have of it? What’s a bad memory?
My boy!!! This is another one of Nikola’s children, one of the triplets. if you just read her thing, you can probably guess that she wouldn’t be a very good mother. Angelo, his father, was always loving and supportive, but both of his parents were just sad people who weren’t really prepared to raise three children. They grew up in the century before the war broke out, in a political climate that feared and hated them, among countless news stories of people like them being murdered and hunted. but Nikola still managed to give them a reasonably normal childhood. She found a place to settle down, near enough to a city that they could socialize and explore but far enough away they they grew up in the woods and could explore their natural abilities without being hunted down by hate groups.
He has a lot of good memories! pretty much all of them are him doing dumb shit with his siblings. they used to use their shifting to break into concerts or fly up to the roofs of tall buildings.
As for bad ones. definitely most of his bad memories are on Nikola’s head. He was the shifter equivalent of about eight years old when he saw her kill somebody for the first time. she didn’t know he was there, but im not sure if knowing would have changed anything. she’s been on a very long, very complicated vengeance quest since before he was born. She had tracked somebody down, and he watched while she slowly cornered him. You could practically smell the terror coming off the man as she drew her blade, moving towards him as she spoke. He had never heard her talk about the deaths of her family before, and as she told her prey all about how she had come home to find her kid brother on the floor with his throat slit open, there was something in her voice that he would never forget for the rest of his life. then he watched his mother put a knife through the bottom of the man’s jaw into his brain. he saw the light go out of his eyes, and he saw the absolute emptiness in his mother’s when she turned around. He ran as fast as he could back to his siblings and cried, but never told them what he saw.
36. What are they good at? What hobbies do they like? Can they sing?
He can sing!!! he has a voice like an angel and he loves to use it. he plays about twenty instruments- hes had a long time to learn- and he always carries at least one on him. he can use weaponry and is good at it, but doesnt enjoy it.
27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?
He doesn’t cry often. He doesn’t care if his siblings see him cry- theyre all so close its like crying in private- but with other people he doesnt like it. He just gets quiet when he’s sad. He’s not the moodiest of his siblings(that title goes to Lynx) but they all inherited something from their parents that makes them quiet, serious people on the whole. He feels deeply and thinks about things. Hes bisexual. I know that doesn’t go here but its important. He cried after he slept with a man for the first time, not because he was upset with himself about the gay thing but because he’d let himself fall for a human. The boy’s name was Jacob, and he didn’t understand but tried to comfort him anyways because he cared about Scott. They dated for a while, but Scott couldn’t handle knowing he would age and die so quickly and broke it off. Jacob was 43 when he was killed in a bombing during the war. Funerals had stopped happening at that time, people unable to keep up with all the dead. But there were still graves, and Scott visited Jacob’s for years afterwards.
Hero-
34. What is their body type? How tall are they? Do they like their body?
She looks a lot like her mom. about 5′7, muscular, strong features. She got her dads eyes though, the only one of her siblings to have them. Scott and Lynx and Nix all have Nikki’s distinctive golden-ringed brown. She likes her body fine, its a good and strong body. she likes that shes not the shortest of her siblings(lynx is tied and nix is smaller) but other than that she doesnt really care.
18. What’s their favourite genre of: books, music, tv shows, films, video games and anything else
She was never much of a reader, and the only tv she ever got to see was when there was one on in a restaurant. She did enjoy films though, and her favorites were action. She got a certain something from Nikola that neither Scott or Lynx has, something kind of cold and fierce. Whatever it was that Scott saw in his mom’s eyes when she killed that man, exists in Hero too. Nix too, but less so. She would have liked video games a lot if she’d ever had the chance to really get into them.
6. What were they like at school? Did they enjoy it? Did they finish? What level of higher education did they reach? What subjects did they enjoy? Which did they hate?
She never went to school. Her father taught her to read and write, as well as everything he thought she needed to know about the world. She spent her childhood wandering with her siblings, and most things she needed to know she got from that. All three of them had been planning on going to college, but the war came before they got the chance. But I think if she’d gotten the chance she would have had an interest in something technical. Engineering or architecture maybe.
Lynx-
10. Do they like children? Do children like them? Do they have or want any children? What would they be like as a parent? Or as a godparent/babysitter/ect?
God I love Lynx. He would never, ever become a parent, but I think he would be a good one. Out of all of her children, Lynx inherited the most of Nikola’s sadness. In non dramatic terms she gave him her tendencies towards mental illness and its something hes struggled with his whole life. His siblings are a wonderful support system but he knows that any child of his would struggle like he has, and he has so many unhappy memories of Nikola’s misery that he would be too afraid. But children do like him, and he likes them. He’s a fun, playful person when he’s feeling good, and is absolutely delighted to discover he has a little brother. obviously hes got the same terror of losing him, but he has pushed those feelings tf down. he just wants to enjoy their relationship while he can. hes a wonderful, sweet, caring boy whos full of love and good times, but too scared of himself to ever be a parent.
26. How do they act when they’re happy? Do they sing? Dance? Hum? Or do they hide their emotions?
When he’s happy, everybody knows it. He is an absolute delight. he does dance, actually. when hes happy he does it more but also its just a thing hes good at and loves to do. humans who see it know theres something not quite natural about the way he moves, and hes beautiful to watch when hes using it to express joy. He has bright eyes and a smile that makes you feel like you are safe and loved and that everything in the entire world is gonna be ok.
44. What is their favorite season? Type of weather? Are they good in the cold or the heat? What weather do they complain in the most?
He loves any time of the year where it’s warm enough to wear skirts and loose, light shirts. The wintertime makes his depression worse, and a lot of years he and his siblings will head south to avoid it. but he loves warm breezes and cool nights by a fire, loves seeing the flowers in the spring and all the new baby animals. he isn’t at all a complainer, but when the weather is affecting him badly it’s easy to tell. he gets quiet, which is not something he is a lot.

Were Democrats Or Republicans For Slavery

Were Democrats Or Republicans For Slavery
Tumblr media

Tumblr media Tumblr media

The word republicanmeans of, relating to, or of the nature of a republic. Similarly to the word democratic, the word republican also describes things that resemble or involve a particular form of government, in this case the government in question is a republic. A republic is a government system in which power rests with voting citizens who directly or indirectly choose representatives to exercise political power on their behalf.;
You may have noticed that a republic sounds a lot like a democracy. As it happens, most of the present-day democracies are also republics. However, not every republic is democratic and not every democratic country is a republic.
For example, the historical city-state of Venice had a leader known as a doge who was elected by voters. In the case of Venice, though, the voters were a small council of wealthy traders, and the doge held his position for life. Venice and other similar mercantile city-states had republican governments, but as you can see, they were definitely not democratic. At the same time, the United Kingdom is a democratic country that has a monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, and so it is not a republican country because it is not officially a republic.;

Tumblr media Tumblr media
They;were:
The Northern liberal Whig/Republicans,
The;Nativist Know-Nothing; allies of the Whig/Republicans,
The Southern Democrats and their Northern allies , and
The;Free Soil;;allies of the Democrats who;took a libertarian like position.

Who Lies More Democrats Or Republicans
Tumblr media
But When You Watch The Republican In The Media Being Attacked The Majority Tend To Handle It With More Grace Then The Majority Of The Democrats
I dont think its because the Republicans have more money because the Democrats tend to be the wealthier group.  The majority of the richest people in the world are Democrats or Liberals.  Yet, they sure dont look like a happy group of folks .  I think a lot of people who are rich were their happiest when they were working hard coming up through the ranks and earning their money.  I also think sometimes the social issues they get caught up in when they become wealthy can be frustrating causing many people to lose their tolerance over time.
The Lies The Gop Told Me About Democrats
I have been a Democrat for nearly one year. A GOP friend of mine asked me about the differences between the parties. He is thinking of leaving the GOP as well. Many have followed me out and read my column loyally knowing I will let them know if the Democrats are as bad as the Republicans have told us.
A political party should attract and maintain members based on the inherent good of the partys ideals. The Republican Party has derailed regarding goodness these days. I am ashamed to say it, but I had a hand in the derailing of the party in the late 1970s through the 2012 Presidential Election. I helped perpetuate the myths, a polite way of saying spread the lies, the GOP had to tell to keep the rank-and-file in line.
I spent forty-two years as a member of the Grand Old Party, and thirty-eight years in that period as a propagandist and party sycophant. I made a good living serving my Washington, DC, masters. When one pretends they are working for the greater good, it makes serving ones self at the expense of society as a whole easier to swallow, if one has even a sliver of a conscience.
I witnessed men and women who had sworn to protect and defend The Consitution of the United States sit and hatch plans to strip Muslims of their rights under the law, and call it patriotic.
What are the stories the Republicans tell that are not true about the Democrats?
Of course, if two sides will not compromise, then we get the mess we have today.
The Flawed Statistically Silly New Study That Calls The Republican Party More Dishonest

A new study out today proclaims that the Republican Party is much more dishonest than the Democratic Party. To which I say, meh.
The report, from George Mason Universitys Center for Media and Public Affairs, captured lots of headlines, and the group did a lot to make the conclusions sizzle, by using phrases like Republicans lie more and Republicans are less trustworthy than Democrats in the press statement announcing the study.
Beneath all the hype, though, this report struck me as one of the silliest statistical analyses Ive seen in a long time. While I do think that the truthfulness of the G.O.P. has sunk terribly in the era of Tea Party delusions, studies like this one detract from the real job of trying to keep politicians honest.
Heres whats wrong with the study. Well, almost everything is wrong with the study.
To make its assessment, C.M.P.A. relied on a fact-checking group known as PolitiFact, which examines political statements for their accuracy. The center then selected a periodJanuary 20 through May 22 of this yearand reviewed 100 political claims examined by Politifact during that time. That included 46 statements by Democrats and 54 by Republicans. Then it toted up the number of statements deemed by PolitiFact to be false.
In other words, meh.
Wow: Radical Leftists Are Mainly Supported Bywhite Radical Leftists
Michael Barone of The New York Post writes,
The split among Democrats is clear. Left-wing policies may be supported by hipster whites with adolescent enthusiasm, but gentry liberals increasingly have abstract questions about them, and they are rejected roundly by people of color blacks, Latinos, Chinese out of concrete concerns.
Barone continues, There the cry to defund the police is not an abstract matter, as it is still to affluent Manhattanites, or an adolescent rallying cry, as it is to the cash-strapped hipsters in gentrifying Queens and Brooklyn neighborhoods just across the East River from Manhattan.
Black and Latino homeowners with families and jobs know their neighborhoods can be destroyed and their lives ended by violent criminals. They want more, rather than less, policing in their neighborhoods.
Instead, the hardcore leftists threw in heavily behind Maya Wiley the former DiBlasio staffer, Civil Rights Activist, and MSNBC Analyst turned Mayoral Candidate. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Wiley, a candidate who can center people, racial justice, and economic justice.
Adams seizing on the opportunity lit her up in a scathing statement saying that leftists like Wiley and AOC want to slash the police budgets at a time when Black and brown babies are being shot in our streets, hate crimes are terrorizing Asian and Jewish communities, and innocent New Yorkers are being stabbed and shot.
Modeling The Universe’s Biggest Monsters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A video clip showing the model in action at different scales allowing the viewer to see how gas makes its way towards the accretion disk surrounding the black hole.
Older models that tried to show how supermassive black holes interacted with their galaxies ran into a couple of problems.
Large-scale simulations are very good at handling what is going on across an entire galaxy, but they become problematic at smaller scales. When one tries to look too closely at a black hole using such models, uncertainty abounds. On the other hand, “zoom-in” simulation models can provide a great idea of what is going on next to a black hole, but they fail to describe what is going on in the rest of the galaxy.
Combining the benefits of the two into a single model is vital, as the interplay between the processes at the larger and smaller scales is key to understanding the co-evolution of supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies and that of the galaxies themselves. The new model aims to bridge the gap between these older models by starting from the Feedback in Realistic Environments project and adding in details from the large-scale simulations to produce a model that can zoom in as far as a tenth of a parsec as well as model other occurrences at a galactic scale.
Study: Politifact Says Republicans Lie More
05/29/2013 08:01 AM EDT
The fact-checking organization PolitiFact has found Republicans to be less trustworthy than Democrats, according to a new study.
Fifty-two percent of Republican claims reviewed by  the Tampa Bay Times fact-checking operation were rated “mostly false,” false or pants on fire, versus just 24 percent of Democratic statements, according to George Mason University’s Center for Media and Public Affairs. By the same token, 54 percent of Democratic statements were rated as “mostly true” or “true,” compared to just 18 percent of Republican statements.
The CMPA looked at 100 statements — 46 by Democrats, 54 by Republicans — that were fact-checked by PolitiFact between January 20 and May 22. The study’s findings are similar to a previous CMPA study, which found that PolitiFact gave more negative ratings to the Romney campaign than the Obama campaign in 2012.
See their complete findings here.
PolitiFact rates the factual accuracy of specific claims; we do not seek to measure which party tells more falsehoods.
The authors of this press release seem to have counted up a small number of our Truth-O-Meter ratings over a few months, and then drew their own conclusions.
We’ve rated more than 7,000 statements since we started in 2007. We are journalists, not social scientists. We select statements to fact-check based on our news judgment — whether a statement is timely, provocative, whether it’s been repeated and whether readers would wonder if it is true.
Democrats Or Republicans: Who Has The Higher Income
In the end, many people assume Republicans are richer based on these figures. Although, this is only a look at the richest families and politicians in America though. In everyday American households, it seems that Democrats have a higher mean salary. Its true that many of the wealthiest families in the country are contributing to Republican campaigns. On the contrary, families registered as , statistically speaking.
These findings still have some loopholes in them, of course. For instance, the data was collected over the last 40 years or so. Moreover, it is only based on the most recently collected information. As you know, demographics are constantly changing. These figures may have been affected as well. There is also a margin of error with every type of data collection like this. So, what do you think? Who is richer? Democrats or Republicans?
Why Democrats Lose On Social Media While Republicans Lie And Win Big
If youre baffled that nearly half of the United States could look at the past four years and say, I want more of that, you arent alone. But thats also not quite what happened.
What did happen is that much of the US electorate lives in a social media echo chamber saturated by disinformation, with climate change and the Green New Deal prime examples. Conservatives have turned the term Green New Deal into an emotional weaponpart of their overall narrative of Democrats as extremist, elitist socialists. It isnt fact-based, but as Daniel Kahneman, who won the Nobel Prize for his work in behavioral economics, explained, No one ever made a decision because of a number. They need a story.
The irony is that there is a compelling, positive story to tell about the Green New Deal that should appeal to a broad base of voters. At a time when the pandemic has thrown millions of people out of work and spawned miles-long food lines, a Green New Deal would create millions of jobs that cant be outsourced overseas. Americans would be put to work installing solar panels, building wind turbines, replacing leaky windows and outmoded appliances with energy-efficient alternatives, restoring farms and forests to store carbon, and undertaking a thousand other climate-friendly activities. With government investment priming the pump, a Green New Deal would boost revenues for business as well, paying for itself through the resulting increased tax revenues.
Why is that?
The Gops New Orthodoxy: Big Lie Or Bust
Rep. Liz Cheney is no closet Democrat or even a political moderate. The 54-year-old Wyoming Republican, the elder daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is an arch conservative who has in the past accused environmental groups like the Sierra Club of supporting U.S. adversaries and defended the birther movement that wrongly insisted Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Her views would seem well suited for the 21st century GOP except for one thing: She could not stomach Donald Trumps claim that the 2020 election was rigged and that he was the rightful winner or, as its is commonly known, the Big Lie. And for this unforgivable sin, the congresswoman is poised to lose her place in party leadership Wednesday as House Republican Conference chair, the third highest position in the caucus.
Its telling that Ms. Cheneys replacement is likely to be Rep. Elise Stefanik, an ideologically flexible New Yorker formerly associated with the partys centrists who has recast herself as a Trump loyalist. And in recent interviews, she has signaled that whatever the message of Republicans in the House, that will be her message, too. That may be how one gets ahead in that increasingly dysfunctional political party but its not in the interests of a nation in desperate need of integrity and reason from that side of the aisle.
The Party Thats Actually Best For The Economy
Many analyses look at which party is best for the economy. A study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found that Democratic presidents since World War II have performed much better than Republicans. On average, Democratic presidents grew the economy 4.4% each year versus 2.5% for Republicans.
A study by Princeton University economists Alan Blinder and Mark Watson found that the economy performs better when the president is a Democrat. They report that by many measures, the performance gap is startlingly large. Between Truman and Obama, growth was 1.8% higher under Democrats than Republicans.
A Hudson Institute study found that the six years with the best growth were evenly split between Republican and Democrat presidents.
Most of these evaluations measure growth during the presidents term in office. But no president has control over the growth added during his first year. The budget for that fiscal year was already set by the previous president, so you should compare the gross domestic product at the end of the presidents last budget to the end of his predecessors last budget.
For Obama, that would be the fiscal year from October 1, 2009, to September 30, 2018. Thats FY 2010 through FY 2017. During that time, GDP increased from $15.6 trillion to $17.7 trillion, or by 14%. Thats 1.7% a year.
The chart below ranks the presidents since 1929 on the average annual increase in GDP.
President
1.4%
A president would have better growth if he had no recession.
The Big List Of Alleged Malefactors
Each person identified as indicted, from 56 years of Executive branch investigations, is listed in Figure 4. Figure 5 provides the numbers, thus far, for the Trump administration. Two years into his term, President Trump has already proved greater than all but one of the previous 10 Presidents in number of indictments the Administration has scored. Congratulations Mr. Trump, you are the Greatest! Of course, the information in Figure 5 that is accurate in the morning may be out of date by the afternoon.
The Final Reports of the 28 Special Prosecution, Special Prosecutor, and Independent Counsel investigations between 1973 and 1999 are the go-to source for who was indicted for what. Before an investigation closes down it will be clear if the indictment itself survives legal challenge; cases will go to trial; there will be decisions. But the independent investigation may well close down before appeals are heard and decided. Therefore, the final reports are not, in some cases, the last word on total convictions and jail time. That still required further research of court records, news stories, and obituaries.
It is not necessary to read the many hundreds of pages of most of these documents for the raw numbers. There are, though, many engrossing distractions in the tales of greed for power or money, ambition, obstruction, arrogance, loyalty, ideological zealotry, duplicity, error and incompetence the reports lay out in generally careful legal language.
Lies And The Lying Liars Who Get Away
More recently, and more pertinent to this election: Hillary Clinton has lied about her e-mail scandal on a breadth unprecedented even within the Democratic Party. In many ways her lies about her e-mail server are more troubling and more consequential than Trumps scattershot dishonesty. You get the sense that Trump lies about things because hes not too bright and cant think very quickly. Clinton, on the other hand, lies about her e-mail server because she has most likely compromised American national security, endangered American lives, and wants to avoid going to jail.
She claimed to have turned over all of her work-related e-mails. That was a lie. She claimed she hadnt transmitted any classified information. That was a lie. She claimed she hadnt transmitted any information marked classified. That was a lie.  She claimed that she had never been subpoenaed in regards to her e-mail. That, too, was a lie. She claimed the FBI had considered her account truthful. Another lie.
Oh, also: President Obama originally denied having any knowledge about Clintons private e-mail server. That was a big-time lie. Clintons e-mail scandal has been one gigantic lie from start to finish.
These are just a few examples of liberal dishonesty; plenty more could easily be produced. While it is true that newspapers and other media outlets have fact-checked many of these lies, it is impossible to argue that the responses from the media have been the same.
Yes Dictators Sometimes Cloak Themselves In Socialism But Tyranny Here And Elsewhere Is Always Right
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Kim Jong-Un and Donald Trump
The meaning today of the Big Lie almost always refers to the false claim by Donald Trump and his right-wing cronies that the 2020 presidential election was somehow stolen by the left and Joe Biden, with the help of foreign agents.
Not only is this claim false, it is absurdly false.
This is hardly the first Big Lie from the right. Not even close. The right has been promulgating Big Lies for decades.
In fact, lying is the only way the right wing can win elections. After all, its policies are profoundly unpopular with ordinary people because the right-wing favors the 1% rich over the 99% working and middle classes.
How in the world could 1% of the population ever win elections over the 99%? Simple. The 1% bamboozles the 99%. To win elections, the right must conceal its true intentions from the voters and instead engage in manipulative tactics, like lying and fearmongering.
The lies are not just little lies. They are whoppers. They are the complete opposite of the truth. They are 180 degrees from the truth. They are the polar opposite of the truth, like from the North Pole all the way to the South Pole. Hence the term Big Lie.
Yet, shockingly, many of these egregious lies actually work. They take hold. They create a false impression in the mind of the public.
Once again, this is the exact opposite of the truth. Dictatorships and fascism are right-wing, not left-wing.
Shockingly, this nonsense actually works.
How Increasing Ideological Uniformity And Partisan Antipathy Affect Politics Compromise And Everyday Life
Republicans and Democrats are more divided along ideological lines and partisan antipathy is deeper and more extensive than at any point in the last two decades. These trends manifest themselves in myriad ways, both in politics and in everyday life. And a new survey of 10,000 adults nationwide finds that these divisions are greatest among those who are the most engaged and active in the political process.
The overall share of Americans who express consistently conservative or consistently liberal opinions has doubled over the past two decades from 10% to 21%. And ideological thinking is now much more closely aligned with partisanship than in the past. As a result, ideological overlap between the two parties has diminished: Today, 92% of Republicans are to the right of the median Democrat, and 94% of Democrats are to the left of the median Republican.
Today 92% of Republicans are to the right of the median Democrat, and 94% of Democrats are to the left of the median Republican
Partisan animosity has increased substantially over the same period. In each party, the share with a highly negative view of the opposing party has more than doubled since 1994. Most of these intense partisans believe the opposing partys policies are so misguided that they threaten the nations well-being.
Many of those in the center remain on the edges of the political playing field while the most ideologically oriented and politically rancorous Americans make their voices heard
Republicans Lie More Than Democrats
In the current post-fact, hyper-partisan era of politics, its hard to separate accusations of dishonesty from political sparring. If the liberal mainstream media accuses a conservative politician of lying, the conservatives fight back by alleging that theres a bias, and vice versa.
Luckily, several fact-checking sites have attempted to rise above the fray, including PolitiFact.com and the Washington Posts Fact Checker. And while theyre nonpartisan in approach, a recent study of PolitiFact.coms results by the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University reveals something that will please one party more than another: Republicans lie more than Democrats, as much as three times as often during Obamas second term. While this may not come as a surprise from a party that denies certain scientific basics , the study puts the two parties relationships with honesty into distinct relief:
While these stats are pretty damning, in the multi-channel era of media consumption, it may be harder than it should to get this information to the people who need to hear it: conservative or conservative-leaning voters.

Quiz: Let Us Predict Whether Youre A Democrat Or A Republican
Tell us a few details about you and well guess which political party you belong to. It shouldnt be that simple, right? Were all complex people with a multiplicity of identities and values. But the reality is that in America today, how you answer a handful of questions is very likely to determine how you vote.
This quiz, based on recent surveys with more than 140,000 responses, presents a series of yes-or-no questions to predict whether someone is more likely to identify as a Democrat or a Republican. It captures divisions that should make you worried about the future of American democracy.
We wont collect your answers.
The first question is the most important: Its about race. Asking whether someone is black, Hispanic or Asian cleaves the electorate into two groups. Those who answer yes lean Democratic; the others are split roughly evenly between the parties. Among those who are not black, Hispanic or Asian , the second most important question is whether the person considers religion important. If they answer yes, they are probably Republican.
Its not just race and religion, though. Party allegiances are now also tied to education, gender and age. Americans have sorted themselves more completely and rigidly than any time in recent history.
How demographics predict party affiliation
The group most likely to be Democrats are black women older than about 30.

It Is Astonishing That Blacks Vote For Democrats At All
For the 100 years prior to Lincoln the democrats were historically the party that supported slavery in the south. In 1860 when Lincoln was elected the democrats elected a person who debated Lincoln and argued why the idea of freeing the slaves was stupid.
Lincoln won even though most of the nation knew that we were on the verge of the most horrible conflict in history. Lincoln wanted to avoid this war but the democrats wouldnt concede even the smallest point.
Lincoln drew a line in the sand. He wouldnt go to war and kill 6 million Americans to free the slaves as long as the democrat states would agree to not let slavery spread to any new states.
The democrats wouldnt accept that. Like todays democrats they were absolutely convinced and not very negotiating. They wanted their slavery and they believed in it.
They felt slavery would be imperiled if it wasnt allowed to grow. They wanted more slave owners to get more slave promoting voters like illegal immigrants today.
Lincoln went to war and adjusted for population 6 million Americans died. Even if you dont adjust for population the number who died in the war is more than the sum of all American deaths in all wars since.
The devastation was horrendous. One of the generals in the north practiced a burn it to the ground policy that denuded whole cities. The south was crushed.
To Get To The Truth About Jan 6 Democrats Need To Ignore Most Of The Republicans
Sometimes seeing is not believing. Or, so it seems as Republicans in Congress go about rewriting history by claiming that the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol was really a normal tourist visit by peaceful patriots. Millions of Americans saw the live broadcast, as insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, marauded through the House and Senate chambers, and chanted Hang Mike PenceMichael Richard PenceThe Memo: Will DeSantis’s star fall as Florida COVID numbers rise?Man charged in Jan. 6 assault of news photographerCan SpaceX’s Elon Musk help NASA get back to the moon by 2024 after all?MORE.
Yet now the Republican party leadership says that none of that really happened and theyre asking people to believe a series of lies about that days events.
This week, as the U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol holds its first hearings, it is time for Democrats in Congress to say good riddance to Republican colleagues who engage in such denialism.
Over the course of the last several months, Republicans have attacked anyone in their party for example, Liz Cheney
First, Senate Republicans defeated efforts to create a bipartisan commission modeled after the one that investigated the 9/11 terror attacks. They did so despite the fact that Democratic leaders in Congress acceded to Republican demands about the commissions composition, powers, and the deadline for its work.
That is exactly the Republican goal.
