Ahh cannot believe we’re nearing the end of the curse reverse fic!! Truly wild the passage of time, and also all the twist you threw in. I for one, am very curious as to how everything will shake out in the s3 rewrite since Things Are Not The Same, But Still a Little Bit The Same. Also I love how you give each group equal emotional weight (Dustin and mike!! Robin and Barb!! Joyce and Hopper and Bob!!) (also I love the way you capture that everyone is messy in their own way and that no one is perfect and also Nancy and Jonathan are an innately messy couple, bc I feel like the fandom does not account for the fact that they absolutely are the drama) Anywho! Very excited for tomorrow’s chapter!! I’m considering it a belated bday surprise and rooting for some fun hijinks. I may even treat myself and reread some road goes ever on bc Monster Steve, my beloved.

It's funny you should mention All The Twists, because I feel like this second fic (put your curse in reverse) sticks the closest to canon out of the three fics I've got written or planned in the series. It's possible I've just been too close to it for too long. I will say this though (and may have already said it once before, but shhh), I've made some major overhauls to the plot of season 3. I have a plan and I am tapping the pads of my little raccoon fingers against each other in evil glee about eventually getting to share it. Now to finish writing the darn thing...

I'm so, so glad to hear that the groups feel balanced, emotionally! One of the things I hate most in writing is when you have a clear set of "A" Characters, who Matter, and then a clear set of "B" Characters, who Don't Matter As Much And Are Mostly Here To Be A Punchline. I love all of these idiots and I want to give them all the kind of storytelling they deserve. And even if I don't necessarily like every character on this show (*coughcoughMurraycough*), somebody out there does, and thinks one of my very favourite characters is just the worst and wishes they'd drop off the face of the earth.

(And, you know, there have been times when trying to be fair to a character I have no particular feeling toward or even dislike, in my writing, has led to me finding a new appreciation for them. And...also, sometimes, accidentally convincing myself to ship them. You will not find any fic for Murray Bauman/Sam Owens on AO3, I'm sure, because I have not written it yet...but oh my god. You guys. Have you thought about how much potential for both hilarity and angst this pairing could have? Because I have. Against my will.)

Speaking of "A" Characters and "B" Characters, part of that dichotomy that I've noticed is that "A" Characters aren't allowed to fuck up. They're always ultimately proven right. Or, if they do do something wrong, it's always because they were given the wrong information, or intentionally misled, or someone else forced them into it. They never just...make a bad decision, or miss a shot, or act on a negative emotion and do something stupid they'll regret, or just plain trip and fall on their face. And "B" Characters basically can't not fuck up. They're there entirely to cause the problems that the "A" Characters have to solve, and then go 'oh the cleverness of you' at the "A" Characters. This is my least favourite kind of storytelling, and if you want to see a textbook example of it in the wild, just watch Thor: The Dark World. (Except don't actually do that, because I wouldn't intentionally inflict that on anyone.)

The best and easiest way to break down the dichotomy between "A" Characters and "B" Characters and get characters who start to live and breathe and act like Actual Human People, in my experience, is to make sure that every single one of your characters is a bit stupid about something. Something that matters enough to come up, not, like, something that will never affect the story they're part of. And if you've created a character who can't take a pie to the face and continue to be interesting to read about, you're probably not there yet.

Anyway! Thank you for that opportunity to soapbox. That very long rant all to say: yes Jonathan and Nancy are messy as hell, and they're much more interesting that way. Happy belated(?) birthday, enjoy the hijinx, and an enthusiastic hell yes to Monster Steve!

Okay okay so its your birthdayyy and you were really excited for what to happen because you wanted to see what kind of surprise your boyfriend did for your birthday

But to your luck he forgot :(

So you spent all day giving him hints like ‘what day is it’ and at one point you gave up and started pouting really hard

And your face was just overall sad everyone else had remembered your birthday including the members, but for your boyfriend to forget it lowkey hurt

Almost half the day passed and he still didn’t remember

So you ended up going into the room by yourself and started to cry

Your whimpers got louder and louder even though you were trying your best to stay quiet so he doesn’t hear

A few minutes past by and heeseung started looking for you because he sensed something was wrong.

He looked on the calendar really really carefully and FINALLY he came to his realization that it was your birthday but it was kinda too late cuz you hid yourself in your room to cry.

He came into your room to wish you a happy birthday but he sees you curled up into a ball crying to yourself

So gradually your face became wet from heated silent tears. But unlike heeseung he would super quickly notice because he’s on his phone a lot and he dates things like ‘y/ns bday’ (idk but I imagine him dating things on his phone)

He’d then be like OH SHIT ITS YN’s BD

Runs to you soooooo quick just to see your face red and a bit wet.

Once your eyes connected your tears started to come out quicker

He literally runs up to you to hug you HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING I LOVE YOU SO MUCH IM SO SORRY I FORGOT

After he said that he ran away from you leaving you alone, which made your heart drop thinking that he didn’t care.

But once you finally came out of your room you were greeted with a homemade delicious cake your boyfriend made for you that looked like this

You could tell he felt really bad bc usually he always had a smile on his face while cooking but this time it was a ‘I’m sorry’ face

He holds your chin and turns it to get a better look

wiping your tears with his thumb, you were being a dramatic his giggles make you feel a bit better even though you were mad at him for forgetting

just a heads up trans shawn is probably the most i've ever projected onto a character (no joke). also i'm gonna mention trans gus + trans jules bc yeah ✌🏼😗

when shawn was a kid he was like Tomboy™. if you searched tomboy on a dictionary shawn's childhood pics would be there. and like his parents were always like "shawn why don't you wear a dress? what about this pink shirt? let me style your hair" but they let him be all tomboyish bc he was like textbook adhd yknow. he and gus became friends over being the "weirdest" girls of the class and shawn was always fighting with girls who would pick on them bc gus hated it sometimes in really bad days it would lead to him having meltdowns (bc gus's autistic and you can fight me in that).

anyway nothing much was thought of it until he was like 12 and feelings started to happen. that's when shawn was like me? bi? in love with girls? especially gus? PFFFFFF... maybe. which is like ok whatever that wasn't so hard yknow. he looks both that's cool that's nice. gus likes both too so that's cool too. BUT THEN shawn's like uh. i don't really feel like a girl. i wish i wasn't a girl bc i don't like being a girl.

cut to 13yo shawn and he cuts his hair real short and one day someone calls him a boy and he's like :O I'M A BOY and he talk to gus about it and he gets really excited about it and can barely contain himself (gus's really happy for him and falls in love even more with shawn and he starts to question his gender too bc shawn's talking about stuff he also feels and he's like maybe? no, but what if?). shawn decides on the name shawn a little before his 14th bday and he and gus sort of become each other's safe haven bc they're the only people that know and use the other's name and pronouns.

cut to 16yo shawn and he finally comes out to his dad. gus & shawn made a pact to come out on the same night so that's what they're doing. henry is accepting? like, he doesn't get it, and he's kinda rude sometimes, but he loves his son (and his friend who's also his boyfriend). shawn knows it's not that safe for him to start transition, so he waits until he finishes hs, which ends up being another reason he leaves sb. he gets why gus's going to college, bc that's how gus wants to transition, but that's just not his thing. shawn knows he wouldn't fit in college, and it would be just a continuation of the inferno of school, so he goes away. in the 10 years, he starts taking t and get's top surgery (he loves his chest scars SO MUCH). he and gus keep sending each other postcards updating each other on their transition, and if it's a big thing that makes them really excited, they call each other and talk for hours.

when shawn comes back, he's more himself than he ever could be. for once, shawn's actually shawn. seeing gus makes me legit cry, and he can't even believe this is happening? like, he wishes he could tell 13yo shawn that's still unsure about what name to go by that a day will come where he's got a goddamn fucking beard and so does gus and they're together in love and happy being who they truly are. hell, even saying it now still sounds unreal!

which is why when shawn's called to the precinct, it sucks even more. he knows he will be deadnamed and possibly even misgendered, he doesn't expect less, and he's goddamn correct. lassiter asks for his name, and he notices he's henry spencer's kid, "yeah, that one" "uh, i thought he had a daughter", and under his breathe shawn days "yeah, he did". and when lassiter asks for his papers and he only gets a "there's no shawn spencer, sir" he gets really confused. shawn waits for some time, like he's collecting himself. he hates so fucking much already, and he hasn't even got to the worst part. barry nudges shawn and asks him to explain himself, to which he responds with a sigh and days "look for [deadname] spencer", which they do, and they thing, but lassiter still doesn't accept bc "this is a girl, and you're not" to which shawn says "some people are trans!" which leads to even more confusion bc cis people in 2006 don't know shit about trans people. thank god buzz knocked at the door before shawn started crying.

anyway shawn & gus are kinda :/ with working with the sbpd but they're also like whatever we get some money and it's nice yknow? until jules into the picture. they don't know she's trans btw and neither does she know about them initially. but one day going through files, jules's like "wait where are gus's and shawn's files? they're supposed to be here" and then she idk asks lassiter and he's like "yeah turns out spencer's trans and so is guster" and she's like :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO but like on the inside so she just says "oh really? cool for them" and leaves. the next day she goes RUNNING to the psych office and she's like "WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS TELL ME YOU WERE TRANS" and gus's like "how the heck did you discover that??????" and jules explains what happened and shawn's like "damn lassiter that was not cool" while gus's like "okay but why are you barging into our office asking us why we didn't come out to you?" and then jules comes out to them and shawn & gus are like "WAIT YOU TOO?" and they three become the spider man pointing at each other meme but they're excited trans people bc they just round another trans person. they become the trans trio and their wlw/mlm solidarity grows stronger. yknow that scene in the s1 finale where it's the three of them eating takeout and laughing? It was Christmas Eve, Ruby should be running down the halls with a pair of reindeer antlers on while singing Christmas carols, but she wasn’t, because Christmas Day happened to also be her partners birthday and she hadn’t gotten her a gift for either of those important dates. 

Weiss was for sure getting flowers, chocolates, and every other common gift under the sun from suitors and their friends, but Ruby wanted to get her something special. Something to show she cared more than any of those bozo suitors wearing 2,000$ ties. She had considered getting her a puppy because of how much she loved Zwei, but they would never allow a dog in the atlas dorms. Then she thought about every other animal she could adopt as a sort of loophole, but then remembered how strict the rules herein atlas are. 

She had even considered getting some new parts for mytrenaster, but Weiss would be expecting that. Ruby was lost deep in thought and was only dragged back when she heard Yang calling her name. 

“Earth to Ruby, you there?” She jokingly asked

Ruby spread her fingers to look at her sister “What?” 

“What's got you so stressed out?” Yang hopped up onto the bed next to Ruby, wrapping an arm around her shoulders “y’ know you can tell your big sis anything” 

“I haven’t gotten Weiss anything for Christmas…” She groaned

“Did you get her anything for her birthday, I’m sure you’d be able to play it off if you did” 

Ruby looked up and shook her head

Yang took in a sharp breath “Ouch. You dug yourself into a hole, didn’t you?” 

“I did…do you have any ideas” 

“Do what I did, get her some flowers and chocolate” 

Ruby groaned again “But everyone to ever know Weiss is getting her that! I want to get her something original, something from the heart, y’ know?” 

The blonde raised a brow before she seemed to understand “Something from the heart…” she placed a hand on her chin like she had a beard “Wait, that just gave me an idea…I’ll be right back!” With that, she sprung from the bed and dashed out of the dorm

“wait nooo! don’t leave me!” The brunette whined, dramatically flopping on the bed.

When she rolled over she noticed that when Yang went running top speed out of the room she flung a flyer into the room, it had bright colors and the words Winter carnival written across it in big bold letters. She stood from her bed to grab the flyer, as expected it was a winter carnival held in the center of atlas. Strange, why hadn’t Weiss ever mentioned this before? She didn’t have much time to dwell on it before the said girl had entered the room. 

“Whatcha got there?” Weiss asked, looking at the paper her partner held. 

Well, this carnival was the best thing she had birthday/Christmas present wise, and people didn’t usually tell other people what they’re getting them, so she shoved the flyer into her pocket and stuttered out 

“N…nothing! Nothing at all!” 

“Uh-huh, let me see it” Weiss held out her hand expectantly

“Oh haha would ya look at the time! Gotta go! Talk later!” Ruby dashed out the door, using her semblance so her partner wouldn’t be able to grab her.

“That was…weird” Weiss muttered, she just assumed it was Ruby being…well…Ruby and didn’t pay to much attention to it.

Ruby ran to hide in the bathroom, knowing there was nowhere else Weiss couldn’t get to her. She opened her scroll to do more research on the carnival, she found out quite a bit, like how it was the perfect place to visit for Christmas, and probably the perfect place to buy time with fun games, rides, and popcorn so she could find a present perfect for Weiss. 

She came up with a plan, she’d go to the carnival with the rest of the team, Yang and Blake could go off on a date, and Ruby would try and find a present for Weiss while they both hopefully had fun at the carnival. 

“Okay, okay, plan to go to the carnival and find Weiss a present is a go!” Ruby whisper yelled, smiling and doing a quick fist bump.

A few hours before nightfall was set to come and all of team RWBY was finally in the dorm. the team's leader set her plan into motion. 

“Team meeting!” She yelled out, not so gracefully jumping off of her bunk bed

“What is it? Are we out of cookies again?” Weiss sarcastically commented, putting the book she had been reading down. 

“That, and I’ve decided we are going to the winter carnival!” She excitedly announced, pulling the flyer out of her pocket “Like, right now” 

“Winter carnival?” Blake asked, sending her white-haired teammate a questioning look

“Yeah, I found a flyer for it and thought it’d be fun to go! Y’know, ride roller coasters, win prizes, eat cheap popcorn” 

Yang shrugged “I don’t see why not” 

“Well if Yangs going…” The raven-haired faunas answered, tucking a lock of hair behind her (human) ear. 

“Weiss?” Ruby questioned, looking at her partner with puppy dog eyes 

“please” 

“Fine…” Weiss sighed “But only because you said please” 

“Yay! Team bonding activity!” Ruby cheered “we leave in an hour! Get ready!”

An hour later they were boarding a train to the center of atlas where the carnival was being held and even from almost a mile away they could see the Ferris wheel built in the shape of a snowflake. Ruby was practically vibrating from excitement, shaking Weiss’ arm and gushing to her about how fun it would be. 

Weiss was listening with a little smile on her face, she only heard half of it because of how fast her partner was talking, but she still listened anyways. Yang was talking to Blake about how she used to win all the carnival games when she and Ruby were kids and how their dad kept a shelf full of plushies won from the games. 

As they were getting off the train Ruby began tugging at Weiss’ arm 

“Come on! Come on! You walk so slow” She whined

“I swear you’re still a child” Weiss teased, playfully rolling her eyes

“Hey! I just turned 18! I’m not a kid anymore” 

“But you’re still a child” 

Ruby pouted and wrapped both arms around Weiss’ arm “Weissss!” She began trying to drag her towards the ticket booth and was successful. Weiss was pretty surprised that she was strong enough to drag her, but she was worried she’d chisel down her heels. 

“Hey! Careful! You’re going to break my heels and then we’ll have to go home” 

Ruby turned around “Then walk faster, silly! Yang and Blake have already abandoned us” She pouted and muttered, “This was supposed to be a team activity…” 

Weiss felt bad, so she patted Ruby’s head and moved her hand to hold onto her partners “hey, you’ve still got me, we can turn this into a partner activity, I know we haven’t had that much time together” 

That seemed to brighten Ruby’s spirit “Yeah, that sounds nice…” she began tugging on Weiss’ hand again “Let's go, I promise no dragging this time” 

“Good, because I’d like to keep my arm in its socket” 

“Heh, sorry” Ruby chuckled, itching the back of her head sheepishly. 

“It’s fine, now, how about we go to eat cheap popcorn” 

“yay!” 

Ruby set off towards the ticket booth, this time not attempting to accidentally pull Weiss’ arm off. The line wasn’t very long, it was pretty late after all, so they got their tickets within a few minutes of waiting. 

“This one's on me” Weiss announced, attempting to pull out the lien from her pocket. 

Ruby put a hand on the one trying to hand the bored teenager behind the counter lien, then grabbed her own money out of her pocket and handed it to him. 

“No, no, this was my idea, I’ll pay” 

“But-” Weiss protested

“Weiss, you don’t have to ‘treat’ everyone constantly” She chuckled, taking the wristbands and tickets from the teen. 

When they entered the smell of cotton candy and butter hit Weiss directly in the face and she gagged a bit and covered her nose, it smelt like a trash can. Ruby was attempting to put the wristband on…with her teeth…but laughed when Weiss gagged.

“What, have you never been to a carnival?” She still had part of the paper wristband in-between her teeth so it was muffled slightly, but released it when she finally managed to tighten it around her wrist. 

“No I have not, my father rarely even let me out of the house, let alone let me into a ‘commoners activity’” She said the last part with a bit of venom in her voice, she didn’t like the way her father described anyone that wasn’t him “His words, not mine”

 “Well tonight we’re going to make sure you have the most fun you can have at a carnival” She began fastening the paper onto Weiss’ wrist, who sent her a confused look “Trust me, you don’t wanna have to use your teeth” 

Weiss laughed “You’re a dolt, you know that, right?” 

“Mhmm, but I’m your dolt” 

“Got that right” 

Ruby’s eyes landed on something and she smiled with a look of pure joy “Ooh! Ooh! Can we play that shooter game! I bet you I can beat it because of my super awesome sniper skills” Ruby exclaimed, pointing to a game that had tiny moving cardboard aliens and nerf guns set up to shoot at them. 

“Lead the way” 

Ruby hadn’t let go of Weiss’ hand when she put the wristband on, so she dragged her to the booth. A dog faunas stood at the booth, playing on her scroll. Without Ruby asking, she held out her hand and began chewing her gum even louder to show her disinterest. 

“3 tickets” 

Ruby ripped the correct amount of tickets off the role she had been given and placed it in the girl's hand. 

“Shoot the alien. Get a prize. you look older than 12, I’m sure you know the rules” She explained, not looking away from her scroll the whole time. She pressed a button and the aliens lit up while LED’s in one of the guns turned on and began flickering

Ruby smirked and put her hands on the gun, it was just like crescent rose’s sniper form. She managed to shoot almost every single alien, all except one that was worth like 5 points so she didn’t mind that much. The girl looked up, rolling her eyes, and pointed to the stuffed animals on the wall. 

“Pick one” She looked back at her scroll and began typing

“What one do you think?” Ruby asked Weiss, turning to her

Weiss’ eyes scanned the wall of toys, and her eyes landed on the giant cookie wearing a Santa hat she knew her partner would love “I think you should get that one” She pointed to it and Ruby beamed at her

“Good idea, I like that one” She turned back to the unamused faunas

"That one” She pointed to the cookie and the girl finally put her scroll down to grab it for Ruby, then handed it to her before going back to texting. 

“Told ya I could beat it!” Ruby exclaimed, with a smile

“I didn’t doubt you” Weiss laughed “Guess you were right, this place seems… decent”

“Geez Weiss, you sound like your sister” 

“Oh haha,” She grabbed Ruby by the arm and dragged her forward. 

Throughout the night they did end up having fun, Ruby won Weiss a few more prizes, who blushed whenever she was handed a new plush. They saw Yang and Blake a few times, who both had mountains of prizes stacked mile high that just seemed to get bigger every time they were spotted in the crowd. 

“How are they going to fit that on the train…? Or in the dorm…” Weiss muttered, eyeing the gigantic teddy bear that was at least 7 ft tall hanging off of Yangs back “Or the rest of those stuffed animals”

“Awww, Weiss, do you wanna bear to?” Ruby asked, positioning a stuffed fox and a tiger so she could hold both under her arm and eat cotton candy. 

“Like either of us would be able to carry that thing” Weiss huffed 

Ruby was about to make a come back when she saw a stall selling jewelry, then she saw it. It was a necklace that had a snowflake on it, but in the back was what looked like rubies and some sort of clear cast over it to keep everything in place. There were a few blue gems on the chain as well. It was perfect, but now she needed to distract Weiss so she could snag the necklace.

Luckily a food court just so happened to be next to the booth, the perfect diversion. 

“Hey Weiss, could you go grab us some food? A hotdog is fine for me” She asked

“uh, sure, if you could grab a table” Weiss answered, a bit confused

“Got it! Okay, see you in a sec” 

Weiss sent her a weird look then walked off to get food. Ruby placed her stuff down on a table right next to the gate separating the food court from the main area, everything was going to plan. 

Ruby walked up to the booth and smiled “Uh…excuse me, sir?”

Unlike all the other people running the booths, this man seemed happy to be there, he had a bright smile and a cheery sounding voice “Yes ma’am!” 

“How much would that necklace be…?” She pointed to the snowflake necklace and the man smiled even brighter when he saw what she was pointing to

“Glad you asked! Lemme see here…” He reached back to grab the necklace and showed Ruby the price tag. 

She winced when she saw it, but it was for Weiss, so she smiled softly “I’ll take it, it’s the perfect gift for a friend of mine” 

His smile somehow got wider “Great, I’ll box it up for you, would you like a special message for this special friend?” 

“Yes please,” She realized what he had said and looked confused “Special friend…?” 

“I get a feeling this friend is more than a friend,” He said in a low voice like he only wanted Ruby to hear it “Anyway! What would you like this message to say?” He added the statement quickly so the brunette didn’t have a lot of time to process what he had said

Ruby thought for a sec before she told him, and he gladly wrote it on the inside of the box. She handed over the lien and gave a small wave before heading back to the food court where Weiss was approaching, food in hand. 

“Whatcha get?” Weiss asked when she sat down. 

“Uhhh nothing! Let's hurry and eat, I wanna show you something” Ruby explained, putting the box in the pocket of her sweater. 

Weiss raised a brow but chalked it up to her partner doing some last-minute Christmas shopping.

Ruby had bought a bag to hold all of the prizes in specifically for this situation so she could put her hands over Weiss’ face. 

“Ruby, where are you taking me?” She asked, reaching up to hold onto one of her partner's arms, just to make sure she didn’t get ditched. 

“You’ll see” She chuckled 

Little did Weiss know that Ruby was leading them to the Ferris wheel in the center of the carnival, and just in time for her to enact the last part of her plan. aka the part, she added in 15 minutes ago. She silently paid the ticket taker and helped her into the gondola that was also very winter themed. When they were both sitting in the winter-themed cart she finally removed her hand from Weiss’ eyes

“Ta-da! Since this carnival is all night, I thought why not ride a Ferris wheel into Christmas!” Ruby chirped “Since y’know…it’s 11:50 and I DID pay for a 20-minute ride” 

Weiss sent her a soft smile “Sounds perfect” 

Ruby’s cheeks turned a bit redder and she was pretty sure it wasn’t from the cold. Before they could say anything else the gondola began moving, startling Weiss. 

“Woah, please don’t tell me you’ve also never been on a Ferris wheel” Ruby piped

“Well, I have bad news for you” Weiss grumbled, scooting a bit closer to the warmth radiating off of her partner. 

The wheel stopped at the top and those pretty cerulean eyes sparkled when she looked over the edge at the city

“It’s really…pretty” She gawked

Ruby smiled “I’m glad you like it” She glanced at the time on her scroll…almost time. 

They went around one more time and ended up frozen on the top of the wheel when the clock chimed midnight, it was Christmas and Weiss’ birthday. It was time. 

“Hey…umm Weiss” Ruby muttered

“yeah?” Weiss answered

“I got you something for Christmas and your birthday…since it’s midnight…I think it’s the perfect time” She grabbed the box out of her pocket, fiddling with it in her hands

“I left your present at home though..” Weiss confessed “I didn’t think we’d be doing this” She laughed softly

“It’s okay, I can wait until morning” She took in a deep breathe and handed the box to her partner, who gingerly took it “I know it’s not a lot…but…I uh…Uhm” Uh oh. here comes the stuttering

“it's alright, if it's from you, then it’s my favorite gift I’ve received” Weiss smiled that lopsided smile she seemed to have reserved for Ruby. 

Ruby was about to stutter something out but Weiss had already opened it and looked shocked. in her eyes, the necklace was beautiful. Then she noticed the note. It was tucked beneath the necklace, but it looked important. 

She grabbed it and unfolded it, and what she read made her heart stop. 

Dear Weiss,

I know this probably isn’t the most lavish gift you’ll receive, but there’s something I’ve wanted to tell you for a while now. If you don’t think the same way, I completely understand, you don’t have to talk to me ever again if you don’t want to. But, I love you. More than you know. You’ve supported me more than anyone else, and in my book, that means you’re my best friend, and I’d love to be able to call you my girlfriend…if you’d allow it.

Ruby was sitting, she faces a bright red and looking incredibly nervous. She was playing with the cloth on her sweater with shaky hands and was visibly sweating as she stared directly at the floor with wide eyes. She opened her mouth to say something but quickly closed her it, too much of a chicken to say anything. Of course, Weiss felt the same way, and she was more than willing to let Ruby know. 

“Ruby…” Weiss whispered “I’d love to be called your girlfriend” She gently ran her thumbs over the letter, smiling softly. 

Ruby looked at her “D…does that mean…” She croaked 

“Yes, Yes it means-” She took in a shaky breath “-it means I love you…” 

Weiss wasn’t able to finish her sentence before a pair of warm lips were on her own, and she was more than happy to kiss back. 

She slowly wrapped her arms around Ruby’s neck so it looked like a moment from a cheesy Christmas movie. When they pulled away the younger girl giggled, holding her new girlfriend close. 

“I’m so glad that worked…” She sighed, pressing her head against Weiss’ 

“You didn’t need to do all of that just to woo me, dolt” 

“But I wanted to prove to you how much I love you” She sighed again, this time it was more of a happy sight than a tired sigh “merry Christmas Weiss” 

“Merry Christmas Ruby…”

Yang looked down at her stopwatch, staring up at the Ferris wheel. 

“They’ve been up there for almost 20 minutes now…” She sighed

“Do you think Ruby finally confessed like she planned to last Christmas?” Blake asked, squinting to try and look at the two atop the snowflake wheel. 

“Knowing Ruby, probably not…” 

“I wouldn’t be so sure” Blake chuckled, pointing upwards.

Yang looked up, just barely making out the two kissing “By the gods she did it…”

“I’m proud of her, aren’t you?” 

“Yeah, she learned well from her awesome big sister” 

Blake laughed and kissed her cheek “Come on, we have to go take care of all these stuffed animals…” she turned to look at the huge crate filled with plush toys “What am I going to do with you…”

Yang laughed “Love me and give me all the affection”

“Sounds like a good plan”

There’s this one girl I had the HUGEST crush on in hs. Well like my second biggest crush and like bro. I’ve liked this girl since basketball and our Spanish class sophomore year and SHE KNEW ITTT. It’s not that I genuinely wanna be with her. She’s not on a spiritual path, she’s kinda just like everyone else but then again, I don’t per say know that, only what she posts on social media. i invited a friend from school to stay over for thanksgiving bc she’s an exchange student and didn’t have anywhere 2 go for the holiday and i love her and love spending time with her but im so tired and drained from it and im so awkward and mad @ myself bc i can’t relax and stuff and my mom keeps makin digs @ me abt bein awkward in front of her and i BFNFBSBFBG D bbbdbf it’s not good??? i mean i thik shes having a good time but im so worn out bc we Never have had a friend sleep over before?? and she’s staying an extra night tonight which was……. unexpected and it’s Fine but Fuck i am Mentally Tired and our upstairs toilet is broken rn but i can’t use the one downstairs bc it’s Her Bathroom and djfjsjtkksjektkr fuck i have to pee and idk what to DO im distressed! also i have to be on mega polite mode until we drop her off tmrrrw morning and my introverted ass just wants to lay down and die!!!! this is why i can’t maintain any friendships i just get so tired and people probably hate me for it i hate myself i hate being antisocial and reclusive and withdrawn and Terrible So so so much!!!!!! i didn’t do any sort of thanksgiving post or anything or even like. as always i’m not really excited for christmas, I think it’s kinda boring and we don’t really celebrate here also because my mom’s bday is on december 24th so instead of “celebrating christmas” we celebrate her birthday. I’m always more excited to new year’s tho! i’ve been spending new year’s eve with my friends for the last hmm 5 years I guess? and it’s always good and fun! not only because of that but because the whole “new year” concept sort of gives me hope to start new things and be motivated and things like that, I like to think that it really is an opportunity to have a fresh start. and for 2020 I’m really excited about some things i’ve been planning so I just want 2019 to end to leave some things behind!!!!! what about you? what are your plans for christmas AND are you excited to start 2020?

Reverse Idol (Jungkook)

Before I start this, I gotta say a happy birthday to Jung Hoseok, I hope he’s having/had (depending on the time zone) an amazing bday I’m watching the vlive rn but I’ve seen some gifs and it seems like he was really happy and that makes me s o happy also his new hair is so beyond cute I’m in love!! Last but certainly not least is the second half of the Busan line, the final part to the maknae line, our golden maknae who is continuing to prove he’s talented, the first time I heard the whole “chong, jojun, balsa" bit I thought it was hobi but the fact that it’s kook is so amazing bc this kid can really contort his voice and I can’t wait for the MV, Jeon Jungkook aka kookie

This AU is gonna be about what I think would happen if the reader was the idol and BTS were the fans, you can also think about this like a general celebrity post, I’m gonna be basing this off of kpop idols bc it’s easier for me to write with just one focus instead of being all the over place with it but if you wanted to see this as an actor!reader or a non-kpop singer!reader post, you could easily do that (and of course this is all still gender neutral)

Jungkook is another huge fanboy but he’s the O.O fanboy like chim’s the :) fanboy tae’s the :D fanboy but kook is just wide eyed “oh my god oh my god”

When he loves an artist, he seems to really just look up to them like him and GD, we all know that boy loves GD I mean wasn’t it him that made kook wanna become a singer/idol that alone says a l o t about how much kook respects him

In public he tries to be -_- (it doesn’t last long but he does try) but at home he loses it

He’ll hear your song in public and his eyes get really big and Yoongi’s mentally starting the ten second countdown before Jungkook starts  dancing along to it 

It starts off with just a bit of foot tapping around the three second mark, at the five second mark, his head starts bobbing, at the seven second mark, he starts swaying until he breaks into the full choreography

Whenever he plays your music, everyone just knows he’s about to come running into the room dressed head to toe in your merch and start screaming the songs so they just all prepare themselves, vmin start stretching so they don’t pull anything 

Sure enough, kook slides into the room with a hairbrush to use as a mic and start singing as loudly as he possibly can, not caring if he goes off key and he starts doing the dance to the song

But it’s actually really cute but all of the other boys get these huge smiles and they gotta join in

Okay but kook gets s o fucking into lip syncing or just goofing around and singing like we all remember the Linkin Park video that’s about all the proof I need and the fact that no one was really reacting to it tells me that he’s doing that shit at home too

The boys all know your music since I have this head canon that if one member knows an artist, they all know that artist just bc they’re all so close it’s easy to assume they’re sharing their favorite music with each other

Him reacting to performances is super cute too bc he gets so into it and he’s singing along and dancing and you can tell he’s genuinely enjoying it and what I love about kook is that he gives the performances his full attention

I was watching him react to one of Astro’s performances and his eyes are just glued to the stage and it’s so sweet

Of course I gotta bring up his reaction to the Rainism performance he literally started performing in the crowd and it was so fucking funny and cute you could just see how excited he got

His fans all know about his crush on you even though he tries to play it cool it’s pretty damn obvious

In the background of a lot of his videos, you can see some of your posters and some albums and he just giggles when he gets questions about it which totally gives away the whole crush thing bc your face lighting up at the mention of someone is normally a pretty good indicator that you have some sort of emotion towards them, whether it’s platonic or romantic

Plus in his live streams, he’s always got one of your albums playing in the background

And Vmin may have just maybe totally told everyone about his crush on you during one of their Q&As and Jungkook may have screamed when he saw them do it he m a y b e chased Jimin with a shoe and threw a banana at Tae’s head

Jungkook has a tumblr right and it’s mainly art and gaming shit, those are the main focuses

He uploads his art a lot, they’re normally drawings of characters or musicians he likes and one day he uploads a drawing of you and everyone flips

Not only is it s o realistic, it’s also getting all of the shippers fired up and ready to scream bc it’s obvious it took some time to draw and Tae uploads a few videos of kook on snapchat like two weeks ago where he’s staring really intently at the screen of his phone and no one knows what kook’s drawing so everyone’s excited

And then the excitement doubles when it’s revealed that he was drawing you and then Jimin adds onto the excitement by stating it’s not the first time kook has drawn you 

You notice the drawing bc everyone sends it to you, even the people who don’t follow kookie send it to you bc it’s rea ll y good we all know how talented kook is especially when he puts his mind to something and he’s not about to half ass a drawing of his crush

You tweet out about it bc you don’t know who did it so you’re just like hey this is really good, whoever drew it and then everyone immediately starts telling you it’s Jungkook’s (the boys also help out by tagging you on instagram in kook’s pictures bc they’re wingmen all of them)

Kook decides in honor of your birthday, he’s gonna release a cover of his favorite song by you bc he’s released a few covers here and there already so why not do one for you and that does n o t help the shippers’ poor lil hearts at all

He doesn’t know that you know who he is yet so he doesn’t even think you’re gonna see it but little does he know, you’re following him on all the social medias bc he’s super cute in all the ways

It’s a more laid back version of your song, it’s just piano and kook’s voice which is s o nice and you can’t believe that this is the same kid you just watched dance around in a Pikachu onesie during one of his celebration videos

After that, you just h a v e to contact him bc he’s so sweet in his bday wishes to you and he’s just so cute and precious you gotta do it

Jungkook expected a lot of things out of his twenty-first birthday. He expected to get so shit-faced drunk that he might have to visit the hospital for a quick, casual, run-of-the-mill stomach pump. He expected a sloppy blow job from an eager friend. He expected a customized cake of a favourite video game. He expected to magically turn cool and confident and mature and totally look like A Man the way Jimin and Taehyung already do, and no, he's not jealous. A lot of people say his baby face is a charming point, actually. Lots of them. So he expected a lot from his birthday, yes, but you only turn twenty-one once in your life. From thereon it's all downhill; a mess of living up to your childhood expectations, getting an Adult Job, doing adult things which involve not being the world's brattiest younger sibling. He's not really prepared for all that. Twenty-one on the dot is perfect as is. He expects twenty-one to be his lucky year. Funny thing about expectations, though, is that they're rarely ever met. Jungkook walks away from his birthday celebration free of poisoning of any sort (yawn), only reasonably high from the nug Hoseok brought to the party, and holding the official documents for the adoption of one human-feline hybrid named Min Yoongi. But let's backtrack a bit. All of it, like all the bad ideas Jungkook gets dragged into, starts with Jimin and Taehyung. Jimin and Taehyung, god bless their beautiful, perverted hearts, have been pioneering human-hybrid companionship in their little circle of friends for a few years by now. It all started rather simply: Taehyung was deemed unsuitable for the market (read: for sale) due to a number of health reasons and his undesirable lack of post-human genes. He ended up being let go of the corporation (read: kicked out), forced to make a living on his own, and ended up on the steps of the Park family restaurant weeping, begging on his bare knees to be granted a job. Anything. Even as a dishwasher. He had worked there for a total of six months when Jimin came over for a visit from university and after one glance, fell deeply in love. Took him back to his apartment in the city. Introduced him to all his friends. Signed him up for online classes. (Became his best friend and boyfriend for years to come). It was a lot to take in at first, but neither of them have been shocked by the presence of hybrids for many years now. Taehyung fit right in, standing among them as an equal in all terms. A friend, a boyfriend, a brother. Jungkook could handle that. Jungkook can handle a lot. He definitely can handle a hybrid. "Jimin, I can't handle a hybrid." "Yes, you can! I know you can," Jimin groans again, throwing his head back on Taehyung's shoulder, on whom he's seated. "You're Tae's friend, too. You practically live at our place. You can totally do this." "Yeah, Kook, seriously. What are you so scared of?" Taehyung asks, voice muffled against Jimin's neck. Nuzzling gently, as if to leave his scent behind. "I don't know, man. This is a lot to dump on someone without their prior agreement." Jungkook whines and whines, clutching the official document in is hand like he can't believe it's real. That this is really, actually happening. "I don't even know anything about this hybrid." Namjoon wolf-whistles from where he's laid on the couch, face down, drooling steadily into the pillows. "Dude, so hot. Such a babe. Eleven out of ten." Taehyung tosses a flip-flop on his head, "shut up, that's not the intro he needs." Namjoon goes to toss it back, but witnessing Jimin's menacing glare, he reluctantly puts his hand back down. Closes his eyes again. Continues drooling. "His name is Min Yoongi, he's twenty-five years old, a feline hybrid like Taetae," Jimin lists off his fingers, face scrunched up, "oh! and he's also from Daegu. Tae has met him before, at event briefings way back. Tell him about it, babe." Perking up from a light scratch behind his ears, Taehyung smiles encouragingly. "Yep, I know Yoongi from a long time ago. We just mostly reunited in glances when Jimbles and I were going through the adoption process, so I haven't really spoken to him in years, but," he sighs, fond, "Kook, he's so cute. If I get mistaken for a canine hybrid a lot, then Yoongi is a fucking teacup kitten. I love him." "Show us some photos, maybe?" Hoseok plops his chin on Taehyung's knee, wriggling his brows. "Ooh, I have something!" Jimin chirps, pulling out his phone. He scrolls through his photo album manically, the sound of his thumb tapping the screen loud in the quiet room, face contorted in concentration. Taehyung stares over his shoulder ready to tell him when. "Ah! There it is!" Then he's leaning down to show it to Hoseok, who 'oooh's loudly and lewdly, captivated by the screen, apparently watching a video. "That's kinda hot, I'm not gonna lie." "What is it? What are you showing him?" Jungkook's never been good at controlling his impulses, even when it comes to feigning nonchalance. He's always been a bit of a hedonist. "I wanna see. Let me see." he babbles as he trudges his way to the front couch, tripping over blankets and pillows, then snatches the phone away. He ignores the plights of protest in his wake and presses play, wide eyes and lower lip bitten. A split second later all he has is regret. "Oh, fuck." he mumbles. "Fuck, yeah." Hoseok echoes. So, the video. He expected it to be a lot of things. A cute video of him smiling. Yoongi man wearing something revealing. Lots of expectations. Funny thing about expectations. The video loops and once again he's met with the image of Jimin and Taehyung's bed - unmade and soft in the afternoon light - and on it Taehyung making out sloppily with a much smaller, paler man. And oh, boy, is it hot. Ghost pepper hot. 'I-will-not-lose-a-noodle-challenge' Jeon Jungkook level of hot. "Oh, fuck." "You already said that." someone chortles. Jungkook pays it no mind and lets the video play again. The man - Yoongi, his name is Yoongi - is sat forward facing Taehyung with just his knees resting on top of Taehyung's thighs. His shoulders are fairly broad but he's otherwise small, fucking tiny, in a simple black tee and ripped jeans, and oh my god-- the softest mop of black hair and little black ears. He's a dream come true. He's Jungkook biggest fucking fantasy in the flesh. He's perfect. Jungkook had popped his fair amount of boners over Taehyung (Jimin and him are unaware of things such as boundaries or privacy), so he doesn't really mind his presence. Quite the contrary, the contrast is really something else. Taehyung's golden tan skin, plush red lips against the pale pink of Yoongi's smaller, poutier mouth. It's poetry in motion. Yoongi's jawline is sharp and he moves so leisurely against Taehyung, with all the practiced ease in the world, like he was born to suck faces. He makes wet, smacking noises whenever he pulls in and out of the kiss, and Jungkook is fucked. He's fucked even more when just a hint of a small, red tongue peeks out from between his and Taehyung's mouth. God, he wonders if it tastes as good as it looks. He's three seconds into his tenth replay when the phone is yanked out of his hands. "Alright, that's enough perving over my boyfriend. We can talk more about this tomorrow." Jimin waves him off, much to Taehyung's amusement. That goddamn bastard. He knows exactly what he does to him. "Let's all go to sleep." Namjoon and Seokjin are deep in slumber when Hoseok announces, begrudgingly, that it is indeed late. Half past five in the morning, in fact. Jungkook goes to sleep with an awkward, overly-excited boner, thinking of all the possible ways he can fuck this Yoongi dude sideways once he gets to his place. Happy fucking birthday to him. (Spoiler alert: as all predictions done by one Jeon Jungkook, this one fails, too. Turns out Yoongi's dick game is just as good as his bubble butt and cute tongue. Jungkook learns to bend over any way he wishes.)
