“It’s L-E-S, love.” He points to the piece of paper peppered with doodles. “Go ahead for me.”

The sun is high and sweltering, with noontime March heat, but still Charles is undeterred in his quest to get your daughter to spell his name properly. The evening prior, you’d presented him with a welcome home card signed by her, and addressed to Daddy Charlse—cue the Leclerc dramatics.

He’d pressed about a thousand kisses to her tiny face, thanking her over and over and keeping the card in his bag so they could cook dinner together. But once the pasta was finished and the toothbrush jingle was sang (twice) and he’d stowed her off to bed (three storybooks later), he padded over to your bed and sighed lowly, stopping just shy of the foot of it. Already you’d sensed his incoming anxious complaint.

It comes. “So. Charl-s-e.” 

“She’s four, honey.” You’d shut your book softly, smiling. “She spells her grandmum’s name as Packal.”

“It’s because I’m always out for work, isn’t it?” He climbed into bed beside you, perching his chin on your stomach. “And this is also because Max keeps insisting he babysit, sweetie. I swear, he’s brainwashing my baby girl.”

You laughed; the vibration extended into him and he smiled fondly at your reaction. “Charles, it’s nothing. They’re working on spelling at school, you know—she’s got a few words she gets wrong sometimes, the same ones. But she’s learning.”

“Charl-s-e,” he’d repeated sullenly. “Charl-seh.”

“If it matters that much, why don’t you try teaching her tomorrow?” You swept your hand through his hair, mouth in a half-smile. “Make an afternoon of it.”

He’d taken your advice very seriously—woken up a bit earlier, cooked them both pancakes (and you French toast, as always) and led her into the yard for some daddy-daughter time. “If you’re thirsty, I made lemonade,” you sing-song from the patio door. “You two’ve been at it for a bit.”

There are scrapped pieces of paper with his name misspelled on most of them—there is the occasional success, though you’re guessing Charles wants just one more—and drawings of your family all over them. You already sense the influx of pictures Charles has on his phone, of these drawings and cards he always posts on his Instagram or sends to you.

At your announcement, Julia looks up, green eyes piqued with interest, grip on the red crayon loosening. But her father’s faster, gently coaxing her back into the mini lawn chair that sits on the yard. She nods along his careful instructions, writing slowly, sun filtering through her light brown hair.

You get short moments of reprieve like this during the season. It’s rare for Charles to visit if he’s in the thick of it—most of the time you travel to a different city to see him, Julia going from your hip to his arms in seconds once he spots the two of you. But this moment is irreplaceable: the sunrays on the grass, the lemonade waiting to be drank, the pieces of paper with Mommy and Papa, bunchfuls of grapes on the patio table. 

He tries again. “Come on, love. C-H-A…” 

She bounds into the kitchen five minutes clutching a final paper, which she shows you with a sun-tinged face of pride. CHARLSE, it reads still. You pour her a glass, wait for Charles to finish packing up the rest of the art materials Julia was too excited to do herself; he comes in a bit sweaty from the sun asking to see the card.

You hand him a glass and press a kiss to his cheek. “Still S-E,” you say, both of you reading over the various scribbles.

“I don’t care.” He pauses. “You see this?” He points to the lower part of the page. 

Best Daddy Ever is written on it in wild vivid colors. You beam, love bubbling up in your chest overwhelmingly. He takes it from you and tacks it onto on the fridge, smiling. “She wrote that. I couldn’t have asked for a better card.”

HAPPY 1-YEAR OF DRAWING ANNIVERSARY TO ME!

(Warning: slightly longer post incoming cause sometimes I gotta be a sentimental bitch ok? So let's go on a little trip down memory lane.)

This day, a year ago, I made my very first fanart. It was dnf (if that surprises you, then welcome to being on my blog for the very first time). I drew a little frog face too so I could use it as a watermark (fun fact: I still use that very same first one).

I immediately put my drawing up on twt because I told myself that I wasn't gonna be afraid of having people see that I was at the very beginning of this journey and had no clue what I was doing. That instead of being bad at art, I was gonna be awesome at being a beginner who doesn't know shit.

I started with little doodles and silly comics and then I laughed way too long when the first drawing of mine that gained some attention was a dnf butt joke. At the time I was trying to balance shipping and non-shipping art so I didn't even draw dnf that much but in hindsight it's probably the only possible way this could have gone.

At the very end of August I woke up to @honelle56 caps-locking at me in my messages - I was very confused and tired (I am no morning person and I will never be, fuck off with your mornings) because Dranart liked my drawing of singing Dream. Dranart was my 17th follower on twt which is a useless yet extremely funny fact about my time on that hellsite.

I also drew human!patches because a) patches was and will always be my favorite dteam member and b) it was a really cute trend and while I do love drawing dream, george and sapnap, I was also quite happy to try drawing anything but a white man for once. And I really liked how the drawing turned out.

Much, much later, I tried to draw my first slightly more realistic looking drawing. I was extremely confused on how to draw anything like this. Especially their hair gave me tons of trouble but given my experience, I think it's not a bad attempt.

When hijacked smp started I obviously wanted to participate, and I drew c!blu who doesn't associate with any side in particular but instead serves soup to everyone who visits her tavern 'The Soup House'. She also wants to be paid in stories from all around the map.

One of the events I was most excited about was dnf week. I even collaborated with two talented writers and I drew the corresponding art for two fics.

(Fun or not so fun fact: when twt had like three hundred collaborative aneurysms about the situation at that moment, that was when I created this tumblr account. I didn't use it super actively (I guess I needed another situation to fully make the switch) but I at least started the account that now developed quite a bit since then.)

I didn't really draw at all through January and February and I actually kinda thought I would move on from that hobby and fandom (not because of negative feelings, just because I didn't really have the urge to create anything within this fandom) and then situations happened and now I am here; and for some reason that is beyond any logic and my understanding I am now even more insane about dteam.

Wild to me but we are rolling with it now, I guess.

Since I got here, I drew more than ever (I actually think I might have made more drawings in the month since I got here than I made the whole rest of the year). There's just such an active and funny community here that cares about fan works for the sake of creating and not just because a CC might see it.

Unfortunately, Tumblr won't let me add more than 10 images in one post (maybe fortunately for everyone who has this monstrosity of a post on their dash). So if you want to see all the progress I made since I got here, you can look at everything in my art tag. Hi, I've been wondering for the photography AU what general time period it's set in, what type of camera(s) does Koby use (it looks like a canon to me but seems to make polaroids, at least that's the surface level observation I can make from my extremely limited knowledge on cameras), what type of photography he personally enjoys and the type he usually does for work (if he does it as his profession too). What does Koby aim to capture with his images, the casual mundane life of an average person, an unreal, etheral sight in a place the average person can't go, Luffy's luffiness, etc? Also what's the general budget Koby has towards camera equipment (doesn't need to be that exact, just a general "he's broke" or "He spends all his money on lenses" would suffice)? My questions are kinda vague here because I'm going to research more about photography later. Thanks in advance :D Oh yeah and also does Koby travel, if not what's the general landscape of his nearby area. You don't need to answer this since I'll probably make it up but it'd be good to know.

- its a modern au!! so set like. now!

- koby uses sony cameras primarily but yes he does have a few canons (nikon confuses him)

- he has a seperate polaroid camera!!! he usually prints digitally from sd though

- for type of photography, he started with a passion for ocean and landscape photography, mostly beaches and any scene with water in focus. he also has an interest in portraiture but his love for portraiture only comes to play when he meets luffy. cheese cheese cheeeesyyyy because luffy smiles and hes IMMEDIATELY enamoured. anyway, he starts to study and practice portraiture in depth because of the pretty boy he met in maths class and eventually works up the courage to ask him to model for him. they get super close and eventually start dating; luffy likes how dedicated koby is to his work and how cute he is when he blushes.

-SORDY got carried away with the sappy lovey stuff. koby sells his landscape/wildlife photography at local stores as a side hustle thing haha. but he doesnt really do it professionally, he much prefers to keep it as a hobby / simple income.

- koby aims to capture the beauty of colour! he loves vibrancy when shooting with a softbox or some other source of light he will usually use something to change the hue rather than plain old bw on a simple white bg

- following on he HATES shooting black and white photos unless theyre negatives because idk i think he would think it looks cool. what a guy

- with luffy photography he just likes catching luffys smile or just luffy in general; whipped dud!!! he thinks he is gorgeous

- ahahhhh budget budgettt. lenses are fucking EXPENSIVE!!! he uses a 50mm that helmeppo got him for his birthday one year (rich kid stuff. he knew koby likes photography and searched Best Lense For People Pictures and bought the first one he saw) the 50 is canon as consequence so koby uses canon for loofy pics. he has an 18-55mm he uses as well.

- he is broke yes. koby does have a minimum wage weekend job to pay for living expenses but all in all that boys pockets are empty. luffy is the breadwinner (miss rabbit with the one zillion jobs) he works about 4 different jobs and is happy to pay for anything koby wants despite kobys adamant NOs. like i said he gets helmeppo to pay for a bunch of stuff and helmeppo pays on his dads card LOL.

- koby does travel! mainly by train or boat, not often does he go to an entirely different country but he has previously a few times. when he does go abroad he takes luffy with him!!!! (he looks pretty in the snow. he likes taking pictures of him in snow)

The Details of Genderbend Naoya Au:

Just a collection of my thought process and ramblings about this collection of drawings to scratch the itch in my brain.

General ramblings:

This is not a fleshed out au. There isn't much of a storyline and I don't exactly know if I will ever make one.

The au doesn't follow the jjk canon apart from some general things like Toji leaving Megumi and Tsumiki etc.

The ‘story’ follows Naoya Zenin after an accident that should have killed him instead leaves him unscathed. That is, until he wakes up the next day with a girl's body, a kogane companion, and the ability to see strange creatures (cursed spirits) and people who should have been long dead.

Bro is basically now part of a culling game-esque event involving people who were saved from death like him, those who died long ago and were resurrected, and creatures that should have never entered the living realm. Some people such as him with bad karma for their actions, are given certain handicaps and/or punishments when they're brought back from death. Hence girl-Naoya.

But, by destroying the souls of beings with even more bad karma than you, you can gain points that will give you access to abilities (cursed techniques) or lessen your own punishment or handicap.

The Kogane function the same here as they do in canon.

Basically, this is me drawing fem Naoya with a bunch of extra steps 💀

Drawing one:

A lot of the ‘story’ of this au just happened randomly as I was doodling, Kenjaku and Takaba running Naoya over being part of that.

I wanted to draw Naoya reacting to him becoming a girl for the shits and giggle, yk, the sillies

And before I knew it I had Naoya getting run over by a truck 💀

The reason Takaba is the driver is because of that one scene in Kenjaku vs Takaba, Kenjaku is in the passenger's seat just because.

There is no reason as to what they're singing besides me wanting them to have been distracted by something goofy 

You might have noticed Naoya is holding something. Idk what it is though 

Its like….a wand…a club…? It's based off his first form as a cursed spirit, the one where he looks like a worm

Yes, his shirt does indeed say “why women deserve less”. It's based on that one fanart of him reading a book with the same title. 

Drawing two:

The first thing I thought of when I imagined Naoya going on a ‘quest’ to become a man again was that ant carrying a bindle.

(It gives pathetic energy, which i enjoy giving my Naoya drawings)

This is actually my first time drawing Hana, I actually like drawing her

I'm so sorry to people who like Nobara and Maki, I can't draw them that well 😭😭😭

I'm thinking Hana/Angel are trying to fix whatever is going on with the souls of the deceased/players, and are thus gathering allies (though they also want to defeat a certain king of curses even in this au as well 👀)

Naoya ends up joining her, Maki, and Nobara as allies (no one is happy about this)

They will put him in his place, especially Maki.

(I wonder what would happen if he met Yuki…)

Naoya and Hana is a combination I didn't think I'd ever draw interacting tbh 💀

But for some reason that's what ended up happening

Other thoughts:

It's so cute how the kogane have different designs sometimes based on who they belong to. It reminds me of the crows in kny.

I wonder if they're meant to represent something about each player???

For example, the one we see with Naoya when we're first introduced to his curse form has a skull like face, which we later see on Naoya's second curse form.

His looks so crusty and I love it

I rlly wanted it to be his companion in this au

Honestly, I was thinking Naoya upon turning into a girl would try everything he could to make himself look more traditionally masculine

But I still wanted to draw him in a skirt, you know, because

His ass doesn't even want to be a woman, but let's be fr, he be styling his hair in the mirror or some shit thinking things like ‘if only every woman paid half as much attention to how she holds herself as me!’ Thinking he's giving everyone a good example or something 💀

This is honestly not the best sketch but this is the clowntroupe i mentioned before. i promise they have swag clothes and stuff, but i really ust wanted to digitalize something of them that wasn't super outdated (even though im noticing a bajillion mistakes in this already)

there's this, but their hands have been restructures and i don't like how i made the pedipalps. my nitpicky nature will be the death of me

They're all outcasts from their original societies, with the mantis escaping their civilization for their own sake (unlike the arachnomorphs, sexual cannibalism is both permittted and expected in mantis society), the arachnomorph running from their role as a prince, and the nautilus one... is really just a nerd and came along to learn about the surface world.

wasn't able to illustrate this, but they also ride on the back of the mantis AND the arachnomorphs' most fearsome predator, the winterbeetle. They're both in their bronze age, and are still being actively predated upon.

While the winterbeetles are mostly carnivorous, their ancestors were herbivores and the winterbeetle is able to still eat and digest plant matter. The clowntroupe has raised their steed to be vegan, for their own safety.

Genuine apologies for the quality on these guys' parts, it's come to my realization how underdeveloped this world was and how unhappy I am with the art i've made for them thus far, especially with how i lost traction and motivation a good halfway through the first doodle. I wanted to get something out for these guys today but this really wasn't it :(. Maybe tomorrow's doodles can turn out better

But on the bright side there were these DJ doodles I was able to make yesterday that I'm actually proud of! I tried to draw him as close to canon as I could (excluding the lips... djmm's donut lips don't feel right for me to draw 💀. I left the bottom lip though, since it's pretty close to the original and are kind of like how actual clowns have the bottom lip painted)

DJ being mute honestly makes a story with itself which is kind of perfect

He can't outright speak for himself other than very specific sound effects, and his face canonically has no moving parts other than his mouth, so you can't even tell what he's thinking or feeling behind those big, unblinking, soulless eyes.

Having to make very big gestures and actions make him even more expressionate than usual, but in times where he lets up his game of constant charades, he become spooky as hell, now that you can't tell what his intentions are.

honestly, there's a gazillion stories to be made just off that alone, like him desperately trying to inform the rest of the SB gang that there is danger swiftly incoming with not a soul having any clue what he's saying, or harsh, decisions he had to make without him being able to explain why, with the reason behind it only being revealed later on.

There's also the thought that in the one medium he's able to directly speak his mind he pours his soul into it and is unnervingly way more verbose than anyone would've thought he was. DJ's just cool like that

faolan's girlfriend finally has a new name!!! her name is wafaa now :D

she needs a last name eventually but it is fine... as long as she doesn't have a name that was picked by the worlds biggest asshole ever

i also gave faolan's super slay af decora kei hijabi coworker more lore,, she finally has a name too (khadija abboud) and a trans wife and a child!! her wife is named rajaa and her child is named fayez, and fayez has a cleft palate. khadija is pakistani and rajaa is iraqi

there's also vanden. vanden is faolan's best friend since highschool and wafaa's bandmate. hes one of the only people that knows about faolan being a werewolf besides wafaa. he's a goofy af goth kid and also he's latino (i have to figure out more of his lore for where his family is from)

there's also rusty, another werewolf, but he's a cowboy from texas. (i also am using him as a d&d character rn so i will end up pulling lore from that and changing it to fit the story/timeline he's actually from lmao 😝)

rusty and faolan met on an online forum for "werewolves" but everyone there was literally just edgy furries and they were the only two actual real werewolves. they quickly found this out and abandoned the forum, met up in real life, and they visit eachother a bunch.

at some point later in the story, faolan and wafaa will have a baby (adopted or through a surrogate idk yet) named rhiannon (because faolan is a loser) and idk they're slaying 💁‍♂️

I do agree with Ash and perhaps Todd not being apart of the cult .. maybe some of the experiences ( ie , the Bolona Incident ) has a different casting ? Hear me out here , what if - instead of Sal and Larry being the main characters of the story , it was actually told from someone like Neil’s perspective ?? Or Travis ?? Or , perhaps , both ?

Hoo boy long text incoming - SF Villain AU

Ohh I like the idea from another POV as well as the Bologna incident. If Larry got Sal already into the cult shortly after he arrived, I can see the Bologna accident not involving them.

I've thought about this AU yesterday and since can't get it out of my head, how Ash and Travis would make an interesting odd duo! I still like to think Neil and Todd would complete them for a full team, but I like them more in the background doing research. For one I just like seeing Travis and Ash doing the action, and two it'd be super adorable if Neil and Todd wouldn't have started dating yet at this stage (i.e. the Bologna incident) and instead were still in the pining/crushing phase of their relationship.

Maybe Travis and Ash (+the guys) didn't get along before but were mixed into the Bologna incident together by accident? Gotta be honest I'm not creative enough atm to think of a specific scenario lol But such a traumatic event would probably band them together, even if they'd need time to actually become friends. Though I love to think that Ash and Travis constantly bicker and call each other names even years later when they actually get along really well.

I also really like Travis still being in the cult but maybe not as high a role as before? Maybe his friendship with Ash makes him realize way earlier that he needs to do something to help stop the cult. Which also makes me question how the whole relationship between Ash -> Larry/Sal -> Travis -> Ash works out and how they handle everything in public and between them. If Travis wants to get inside information outside he'll probably have to keep his friendship with Ash very undercover.

Also I still see a friendship between Larry, Sal and Ash in the beginning right after Sal moves to Nockfell. Before Ash has any information about the cult and what's going on. Though there would probably be a bad fallout between the three at some point later when Ash directly confronts them about the cult and openly starts antagonizing their goals and ideals.

Oof there are so many questions still open but damn is it interesting to think about! I just love Ash and Travis going apeshit against the cult in the end. (Also uh.. spoiler alert? but I definitely don't see a happy ending in this AU lol Or let's say having a tragic ending just feels right)

Also a small doodle because I've been wanting to draw Ash for a while now. Travis and her are probably discussing the cult - or maybe they're exchanging urgent information while trying to keep a low-key profile in public?

12. What's a childhood memory they cherish most?:

Evelyn: a very sentimental individual, who actually believes she took them all for granted and wasted them back then- so the least she can do is cherish the memory fondly.

But one I think about a lot would be a time her father showed her his own ship, just by the time she began elementary school; he told her that in a few years when she's old and responsible enough he'd take her on a trip with it and maybe even inherit it to her when she's fully grown. It was big and impressive for her eyes, of a girl in sheltered upbringing not allowed to leave the safe home (and quite literally, even go outside to the gardens without strict watch. So growing on the unnatural light and limited space of the mansion, as big as it was.)- the idea that in a matter of few years she can finally go wherever she wants. All she needs to do is earn it and do her best and hardest

By the time she reached said age the man decided that for as far as he's concerned he doesn't have a daughter.

Mia: first time she showed someone a thing she drew and they went "well this girl should do so much! Like grow to be an actual artist or something". She's been since forever believed to be meant for great achievements on her own uniqueness... so what's stopping her now...?

Cecille: Honestly,, just about anytime she was reading by herself in the personal libary/ the tree. Rather likely whatever she pulled each time was dark poetry/folktales/myths. On the later's case any weather was a good excuse for her too (outside rains & snows obvy), otherwise sitting by the window.

14.What's the most touching gift they've ever received?:

Evelyn: gold pendant with a stone almost shaped like a heart the color of fire she got as a surprise from someoneee after a certain festival in secret (🤭). Even a certain patient of hers (his name is incoming fic spoiler) noticed and bluntly pointed out a very unusual smile as she kept observing it carefully while wearing it to the last of details. She wears it often as possible and takes extra care of it even in dangerous times, not leaving home without it.

Funny thing you asked... The ending got me to doodle as I type this the reinelyn hug before he gets on the ship to paradis in the epilogue,,, and as I mentioned in one of you previous asks.... a ring might be involved this time 🤭🤭✨

Mia: she's got a lot that'd be for sure, but the two things that allowed her to create her most precious creation were individually given to her by the two most important people in her life, so technically it's like a gift from them both. One is a diamond ring, the other is her crystallizing ability, and the she gifted herself with a protected version of the flower that made someone see the spark in her eye and love it.

Cecille: Nothing exactly. And she tries not to care too much. If anything the ribbon is more of a momentoum just innocently handed to her by her tounger sister the only time they saw each other.

That said, she never threw it.

19.What's a guilty pleasure of theirs?:

Evelyn: working late. Also idk if that counts but adressing people in an overly polite manner even if she's been told casualty is just fine. (Although if they specifically state to hate formalities she'd correct herself)

Mia: ah that'd be romantic films, dressing fancily for casual daily routine (which drags the ask "you're invited somewhere...?" ) And giving Sapphy analogies on self development x"3

My 2023 Bullet Journal Set Up

I've had this finished for a couple days but I can't stop wanting to share it so... Here goes:

My future log is split over three pages. I've done the little leaf dividers in all four of my previous bujos, and I really like them bc otherwise I feel like it's very utilitarian. I am trying to decide if I should decorate the months like I usually do (on/around the text I usually do a little doodle--January is snowflakes, May is roses, December is holly, etc) so idk let me know what you think I guess?

Trying a few new things this year: I watched like a million 2023 set up videos on YouTube and saw a couple 23 23s in 2023 spreads, and while I've done level 10 life the last couple years I didn't feel like it's really working for me so I decided to try 23 23s instead. (If you want to know what my 23 things are, I have them figured out now but it took me ages.) I've also included a 2023 cover page, which is a piece of cardstock I taped in. Not pictured are the back of it and the page underneath; taped to the back of the cover page is a letter to myself for 2024, and opposite is my word of the year: assured.

The next two pages are my period tracker (a new inclusion in the start of year set up, as I usually leave it to later in the year, as a collection between January or February weeks. I also set up a wishlist and gift list, which I usually leave to sometime in October-December but figured I'd go ahead and include it up front this year. My last page is a budget spread, which I've never used before but I'd really like to get into budgeting as I like become more of an adult, so my first step is going to be tracking my monthly income and expenses here. I also have a monthly envelope for monthly expense tracking and like receipts and things, but I don't really know how it's going to work for me because I've never used anything before.

And that's my start of year set up! I'm using a leuchtturm 1917 with 120 gsm paper, which is new bc normally I just use a normal 1917. I wanted thicker paper this year but I love the features of the leuchtturm so this was a good compromise for me. I also got some new pens for Christmas, which I used lots in my set up too. And I'm loving using my journal already, so hopefully that keeps up too. Here's to a great 2023!

So i may perhaps actually got obsessed over this character; shouldnt be a surprise but anywayyyys!! I´m going to post this before i forget!  So i got this proyect incoming where i have to do a “inorganic” object, like swords, shields, those kind of stuff to later go and make a 3d sculpt character with it; me being obssesed over Ingo for this past months i decided: you know what, ima do him with his chandelure, so i went and did YES, i modified the chandelure to look more like him, cause is a thing i love to do with trainers pokemons!!! So yeah i only have this so enjoy 

Also i had to make a loooooot of sketches to then make the finally decision and well it resulted in me designing a mega-Chandelure, and tiny doodle of Ingo and Emmet with also myself there questioning why do i choose this types of proyects for school lmao, so enjoy that too!!

i haven’t really yet decided who i wanna subject to the constant headache that is lily-grace. suggestions are welcome.

one of her favorite pastimes is growing flora native to her area, especially flowers favored by pollinators. she owns a license to and occasionally rehabilitates injured and sick wildlife, mostly for things like birds and small mammals. she has an un-releasable pet opossum named frank who lost a leg and part of his ear in a traffic accident, he’s a grumpy old man.

she rents a little house on the edge of a nondescript, small city while she looks for work more in relation to her degree, which I’ve mentioned before is forensic science.

her style is something of an amalgamation between goth and cottagecore. she tends to make or upcycle the majority of her own clothes and buys from thrift stores and small businesses for the rest.

speaking of small businesses, she survived during college by supplementing her income with art. digital first and foremost, but after graduation painting and beading are her main media. she also does the occasional wood and leather work - especially later in the year when she takes part in the controlled hunt for the area she lives in. no part of the animal goes to waste. bones, connective tissues, and more are often used to make tools and clothing.

she’s fascinated with collecting knives and taxidermy. her favorite piece is a knife she carved herself out of the antlers of her first buck.
