ok so i was genuinely unsure about how I felt about the way Lanfear was revealed in the moment, but there are three main things that are really selling it for me:

1: It immediately sets up the threat of going up against a Forsaken:

So far we haven't really gotten much of an indication from the show about what the Forsaken really are, who they are, and why they're any different that a regular darkfriend. Obviously there's still a ways to go in explaining it, but Lanfear provided an immediate visual explanation

Because for example, we've already seen one darkfriend innkeeper who had a thing for Rand (or pretended to) take a knife through the throat

We've even seen Rand stick around and linger by her body and its very clear that absolutely nothing happens.

We get a lingering shot on her bleeding out and she is very clearly actually dead in this moment. Its not even really a question.

But with Lanfear we kinda get the exact opposite of this moment. We see her take a knife to the throat and clearly go down, then there is no lingering by the characters.

The camera goes back to her and we see the saa very clearly moving in her eye, then she blinks and breaths in.

And by this being the opposite of Dana, I mean that with Dana there was no question that she was actually dead. With Lanfear, there is absolutely no question that she's still alive.

Dana was also a darkfriend, but this is very clearly showing non readers that Lanfear is something DIFFERENT. We're told she's a darkfriend of some kind, then we're seen that she actually apparently cannot die by normal means. This coming AFTER the reveal that she is definitely a channler of some kind, and if we now know she's a Forsaken, then we know that Moiraine clearly said the Forsaken are the most powerful channlers ever, more powerful than any Aes Sedai.

And now apparently they can't die.

2. Its foreshadowing.

Moiraine was able to take out Lanfear (if only temporarily) with a physical attack because Lanfear was so fixated on Rand.

The above is also a spoiler for the climax of a certain book.

I'm not gonna get into it, but its clearly like showing that there's a course of action and there is a playbook that works here.

3. NOW we have Lanfear

Before we had Selene. I'd argue there were even moments where we had Mierin, but the only time Lanfear has really come out before this was when she went into Rand's dream and threatened him in episode 3.

By this I mean that while Selene was always obviously an act Lanfear was putting on, it stopped us from really seeing how manipulative and obsessive Lanfear could be and was currently being. If we didn't know she was Lanfear (and non readers shouldn't) then there's no reason to realize the lengths to her manipulation. We still don't know that the man she was telling Rand about was Lews Therin. We still don't know that Lanfear even knew Lews Therin much less would want to rekindle any kind of lost romance with his reincarnation. Because even when Lanfear was being honest as Selene, she was keeping herself back. She wasn't latching onto Rand and telling him that he was hers. She was very clearly holding onto the memory of Lews Therin, but there has yet to be any clear indication that she 100% buys that Rand and Lews Therin are the same person rather than Rand just being his reincarnation.

So while Lanfear was definitely getting some joy out of sleeping with Lews Therin reborn, there is no real indication that that is what she wanted. She said she wants Lews Therin. She tells Rand she's more or less settling for him. Let's assume that was 100% honest for the moment (because I believe it mostly is to a point), I don't think that's the case after this episode. Because Mierin Eronaile suddenly got the one thing she'd always wanted:

If you watch the moments immediately before this scene and immediately after, there is a shift in how Lanfear is acting here.

Before she was very clearly putting on an act. She was playing up being afraid of Rand and didn't seem at all concerned about keeping him here. The most she does is ask him where he's going to go, and even that is said in a weird tone unless you know that she's probably going to use this information to keep tabs on him and report it/follow him herself.

But Rand does the one thing he absolutely shouldn't have done with Lanfear and told her that he loves her.

So now I think is the moment where Lanfear is willing to accept that Rand is Lews Therin. Because if Rand is Lews Therin, then Lews Therin just said that he loves her.

And her entire tone shifts here. You can see she's visibly shocked in the moment, and then smiles and flips the scene to her being afraid of him, to her reassuring him and telling him that he should have told her and telling him that he didn't do anything wrong and he was just acting in his nature. Before she was bringing up the inn and was clearly trying to make him feel bad. Now she's clearly trying to reassure him and keep him around. Absolutely manipulation but I think she didn't really need him to stay until he indicated that he loved her.

So what this means is that we now have Lanfear, who is established as being unkillable and one of the most powerful and oldest being in existence, NOW becoming obsessed with Rand al'Thor and thinking of him entirely as Lews Therin. And not only that, but now she's PISSED because he just left her and was taken away from her by Moiraine exactly when she finally had him back after thousands of years.

She finally got everything she's wanted and it was immediately taken away, and I think that's frankly terrifying, so yeah, I think I do like this reveal now actually.

Ok Saeran AE good ending dump, here are some random thoughts

The president plot was ended really underwhelmingly, but I'm glad that although Saeran chose to forgive him, the writers are aware this isn't something anyone can do and let saeyoung continue hating him. Honestly, forgiving or not forgiving him aside, I just didn't like the way they made the president go 'ah.. you're right maybe I am a lonely bad guy' LIKE NO WAY THAT ASSHOLE CARES ABOUT THAT, I couldn't take any dialogues seriously

First of all. Why the fuck is jumin han a politician all of a sudden 😭 And like, forget being a politician, he is a candidate for presidency??????? Am I reading it right?? How exactly..???

Anyway I FORGOT ABOUT YOOSUNG AT PATISSIER AWWWW It's so nice to see him find himself even if this is saeran's route! You're doing so good love <3 I was gonna say it doesn't make sense that they made him chase his patissier dream when in his own route he thinks about why he wants to become a vet and decides to go that way, but I realized, since another story is 2 years before the casual one I guess he felt more free about leaving his medical studies 😭 he was able to change his path more easily because he just started school, and also he doesn't have a lover like mc in korea unlike his route so that might also affect his choices. But I think he's happy in either ending so I'm glad <33

They did well with Yoosung but. why didn't Jaehee get the same treatment. I don't get it. They were clever enough to remember other characters' goals and worries and made them happy in this AE, except for Jaehee. I wish they made her leave her position too, since Jumin Han is now involved with politics it could be the perfect excuse for Jaehee to stop being his assistant. I'm guessing that this is also because AS is 2 years earlier, which means Jaehee hasn't suffered in her job enough to leave yet, and she probably doesn't have the money to open a coffee shop anyway (she isn't even into coffee professionally yet although she said she was interested a bit) But idk I wish they left us a clue that Jaehee will also get to find her happiness in the future 😭😭

Another thing I'm confused about is that where the hell does saeran get money from 😭😭 how are we 'lovey dovey at some place romantic'😭 Saeyoung probably has more than enough money so he might have forced Saeran to have it all lol that's the only explanation I can think of. In the alternate ending Saeran has a greenhouse (considering that he said himself to be careful of people raising herbs in the wild I find this funny but well ofc it's the dream job for saeran) but I'm not sure what we're supposed to be doing in this ending lol

I'm trying to decide why Rand going off on his own in S2 feels so much more like abandoning his friends than when he leaves to find Callandor in TDR. In both, he's kind of doing it to keep them safe from him (although in S2 he isn't keeping *everyone* safe, just his friends). I know at the end of S1 he had his Book 12 revelation that Egwene is a human who can make her own choices. And then decides "it's better if they think I'm dead". I might just be being uncharitable here (I don't like the show much), but it feels like S2 is more *selfish* than in TDR, where he is actually making a huge personal sacrifice to leave them behind.

Here the key detail is "kind of" but not exactly. In TDR Rand abandons his friends because he has a goal - to reach Tear and to see if the prophecy is true and to accept the role of the Dragon. His abandoment is actually a quest to acknowledge his role in the Pattern and to stop fighting it as he wants to do it on his own terms. In previous two books he is forced to do it by someone else and his friends are put in real danger which he witnesses twice. He abandons them because he has experience.

In the beginning of Season 2 he doesn't have quest and he doesn't acknowledge his role and his friends are not put in real danger as far as he knows. Egwene was just a vision and Rand did not even check what happens with the trolloc attack. Rand does not have experience why he is doing it. We are being told instead of being shown.

Rand's quest in Cairhien is for what exactly? Logain to teach him the One Power. Ok. And? Where we see that he has any goal after that? Where we see that he is still confused if he is the Dragon? He doesn't have any inner struggles with that information. His struggle is only outside - what Aes Sedai would do with him, what the friends would do with him, what Lanfear would do with him. He doesn't have any goal than just keeping low profile. There is a reason why Lanfear did the reveal in TSR and not before - Rand was not ready for that event. Robert Jordan knew that.

We know that the writers do not trust its audience and they insist that things must be done ahead of time or the show "won't make it". This was completely wrong motivation to show us why Robert Jordan knew what he was doing with the pieces of the puzzle what fits when and where.

There is nothing uncharitable when you try to figure it out through incompetent storytelling. It is not your fault to feel that way.

And in my case I got into it some weeks before it officially ended lmao. Always heard about it and finally gave a try, it's extremely funny and charming, can't wait for the anime this week :]

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - I saw the anime back when it was releasing, enjoyed it and...that was it. Hoped for season two (kinda still wish for it),but yeah... Then finally said fuck it and OHH IT GETS SO MUCH BETTER. LIKE ITS NOT THAT THE ANIME IS BAD BY ANY MEANS BUT WELL...it only covered one part of it and it always keep getting funnier and funnier! Wakamatsu is so much more insane and dumb... The characters we never got to met there. I do have some issue here and there but in general I have a pretty fun time :]

17. A manga you didn’t expect to like

Hmnm ... I don't remember lmao. Like at least not anything that I felt that extremely "omg what pleasant surprise!!!!!" ? The best I could think of is kisses x kiss x kisses that ...well does have a cringe name that kinda put you expectations at low I guess lol

It's nothing amazing, it's a finished romance comic, that is very sweet. I liked the contrast of the protagonist and his love interest being like, boy with big family all living together and boy that lives alone with parents in another country lol. It is a cliche and not gonna pretend they do anything groundbreaking with it, but it's still a nice storyline. Lowkey big spoilers ahead I guess but: I liked that while the protagonist dream of living completely alone changed a little (cause come on its a fluffy romance lol), he still got separates room cause he does want be able to experience and enjoy not sharing a room,having more privacy and stuff. It's kinda small overall, but it's nice that his dream and his goals didn't do a complete change because of love.

CRIMSON SMP - SEASON 6 / S1

Hi ok so for context for this, I'm on a minecraft server called Crimson SMP or CSMP which is just- a server where me and my friends play through the Life Series' [made by Grian]. We're on our 6th season now and since I feel like it, I wanna log in text what happens every session. This season we're doing Double Life!

SUMMARY

So the session starts off with everyone splitting off from spawn. Early on, I run into Vinrhin [Vin] and Kenophbia [Keno] while collecting wood. While talking with them, soulmate pairs are rolled, and after testing we learn none of us are bound to each other. Another short while passes before TTheTinkerer [Jonah] shows up. I punch him to see if he's bound to any of us, and Vin also takes damage, making them the first soulmate pair to be found!

We spend some time collecting fish together when SwiftSneaking [Millie] shows up, who's tested and revealed to not be bound to any of us. Not much exciting happens for a short while until Necromanttic [Maven] turns up and is revealed to not be bound to any of us. Shortly after, Maven runs off and comes back a few minutes later with a few people from around the area - Fizztic [Log], Maxanthrax [Max], and Delphiez [Meg].

Punches are passed around, and two more soulmate pairs are found. Me and Max, as well as Log and Millie.

At this point, Max and I split off from the main group with the intention of caving together. Along the way we find 2 cows and hide them away, and then spend the first night in a small cave collecting iron. By the end of it, we both had near full iron armor, and shields.

Once its day time, we head back closer to spawn to find a bigger cave, as well as to find out what the last three soulmate pairs are since they're all trying to meet up at spawn.

While Max and I are caving in a cave below spawn, RensRelay [Ren] and SteviaStevie [Stevie] show up and find their soulbounds, Keno and Meg respectively. That leaves only Maven and SkyIHigh [Sky], neither of who are near each other.

Maven quickly figures that out, but decides not to message Sky about it to see how long it takes him. Maven joins up with me and Max, and after a bit more material gathering, we decide to go to the Ancient City to get loot and the Enchanter.

After a stupidly long amount of time mining down, and a few breaks to bully Sky through Maven with powdered snow, we dig into the Ancient City and immediately either me or Maven sets of a shreaker. The darkness effect Maven gets is what makes Sky realize they're soulbound together. Max splits off from us to go loot around and Maven and I make a beeline for the enchanter. We stop in the redstone room as well and grab some sticky pistons for traps if need be.

We loot about a quarter of the Ancient together after that, before I set off a shreaker twice more and decide to leave myself since I don't want to summon a Warden. I leave and head up to the surface, before I get the darkness effect from Max and learn he summoned three Wardens the second I left. Which. Ok sure why not give me a heart attack.

Him and Maven both make it out ok though and we split the look evenly. I get out with a pair of diamond leggings, diamond boots, a swift sneak 3 book, and a feather falling 4 book. A few other things as well but that was everything of note.

The three of us head out from there and find a nice area near spawn to set a base up at. They set up some chests and collect some fish from a lake nearby while I terraform the area, and afterwards I split away to try and find other people. Stevie comes over to our area to say hi around when I'm leaving and leads me to another groups base.

Not too far away from us, Keno, Ren, Vin, and Jonah have all allied together in an alliance called The Fairies. I talk with them for a short while before Max messages me asking where I am, so I leave to lead him and Maven over. The moment they arrive, the pair steal from them and just generally cause minor annoyances before The Fairies decide they don't want to have us knowing where their base is and move away. On the way back home, we pass by Stevie and Meg's base.

At the house, we discuss the idea of teaming up with Log and Millie briefly before Maven spontaneously combusts in front of us due to Sky dying from a creeper. I split away from them again to try and find more people not much later.

On my travels I find The Fairies again who aren't happy to see me at first, thinking I have Max and Maven with me, but are fine once they realize its just me. That doesn't last long though, as Maven shows up after a few minutes asking if any of us know where Sky is since he's upset. But, using the power of my past-series alliance and a bit of misplaced trust with Sky, I get his base coords and share them with Maven, trailing a bit behind him to make it seem like I didn't share them.

I reach the coords and no one is at the house for a while, until Casp_Shield [Tango], TheToySoldier [Till], Sky, and Maven all show up together. Sky promises to repay Maven for getting them killed, and Maven leaves.

Not much of note happens after this point, I spend some time talking with Till and Sky, who I was married to the previous season and still technically am, before Max sends the message that the session is over. I tell sky I'm always around if he ever needs a friend since he's alone, having no alliance or soulmate, and then leave for my own base.

And thats where the session ends! Almost all the soulmate pairs are happy together minus Maven and Sky, and if things go well they should stay that way!

I just wanna say (and I'm aware this is probably Cilla's hand at work here), the only truly unrealistic thing about AE (besides everything else lol) is the fact that E refuses to flirt with or have sex with anyone else because he's married. We all know he would've been all over Cece (and probably her mom too lol!)

I can feel her frustration at his attitude while they were talking, but I am not sure if the reunion was something mutual given seonghwa’s reaction and how quickly he dismissed her for the rose bride not even two minutes into their meeting so I am looking forward to how their relationship progresses (or regresses) especially since she put in so much effort to be reunited with him again, joining a place such as this, surely it wasn’t just to say hi to him again for two seconds

Another DRA/SDRA2 AU

After reading some ideas that @a-student-out-of-time had of an AU where Akane Taira survived the DRA's Killing Game and ended participating on the Utsuroshima Killing Game in place of Teruya, I had an idea for another AU, that I'm gonna call "The DL Saves Akane" AU:

The turning point for this AU is that, after being mauled by that Monokuma, Akane is able to cling to life enough for the Divine Luck to be able to save her life, as opposed to Canon, where she ends brain-dead.

But, even with the Divine Luck saving her, the injuries were too grievous, so she ends in a coma for some months.

Enough for the Killing School Life to happen.

She finally awakens a week after Junko dies and the Class 78 survivors escape.

At the beginning, she's confused, but eventually, she realizes that Utsuro died to save her, and breaks down.

Like what happened in Canon, her hair started to bleach down, making her harder to recognize as "Akane Taira".

Even with that, Akane decides to feing having lost her memory, because after all, for the rest of the world, Akane Taira and the Class 79 died when the Tragedy started.

Also, it would help her with hiding from both the another Despairs and the Class 79 survivors.

When she hears about Makoto Naegi and how he beated Junko, she feels gratitude for the young man, for being the one to finally defeat the woman who corrupted her master.

Probably, she would realize at some point that she now has the Divine Luck.

This, along with her regret for her crimes as a Despair, makes her decide to atone for her sins, via helping however she can with it.

Her first act of atonement: Saving Yuki.

After she's released from the hospital, she runs to where she and Utsuro left Yuki, and she gets him out of there.

She then takes care of him and, when he finally wakes up, Akane realizes that Yuki can't remember the day when her and Utsuro destroyed his life.

That means that Yuki doesn't recognizes her.

She decides to tell him a half-truth (By lying by ommision), and tells him that her name is "Sora".

(And imagine the angst that would ensure when Yuki finally discovers/remembers the truth...)

Thanks to this action, AE!Mikado's plan would be, or completely ruined, or in need of severe changes.

Because his family is pretty much dead, Yuki decides to live together with Akane. She's ok with it.

Its good to have company.

One problem that they will have would be having to move places pretty frequently, thanks to the people hunting for the Divine Luck.

I also can see Akane fighting against the "The Divine Luck gives me everything I want and that is ruining my ability to be happy" issue that Utsuro had with the Divine Luck while she's trying to take care of Yuki and helping people in the Tragedy-ravaged world.

I can see her getting a place on the Future Foundation (She can't go to the Kisaragi Foundation because she would be immediately recognized), but I also I see her working solo with helping people with the Divine Luck.

This is, like, the main stuff that I have already for the AU, probably there will be more later.

Raphaella played Odin in The Bifrost Incident because no one else wanted to and got pulled from the hat.

Other Jonny was told to bite someone, specifically Ivy and Tim. This went about as well as you can expect.

Given Ivy has so many books, it should be no surprise that they have the entire works of earth author, Rick Riordan.

Marius and other Jonny collaborated to get Jonny some therapy.

Delta called Nastya an “incredibly swaggy gamer.”

Sometime Toy Soldier uses words like “bumfuzzled” or “skedaddle.”

Jonny and Nastya formally introduced themselves to Lyfrassir.
