Do you think that Diomedes (who lost his father when he was 4yo, and went to war to avenge him when he was 14yo) loves to listen to Odysseus talking about Telemachus?

Do you think that after Odysseus talks about the things that happened with Telemachus (that he refused to sleep unless his dad walked him by the beach. The time he almost choked on fishbones. That game they played where Ody pretended to be a tickle monster), Diomedes secretly imagines/pretends that Tydeus once did the same things with him?

(He knows it is very unlikely. Tydeus left when Diomedes was younger than Telemachus. And Dio doubts he was as much of a family man as Ody. But it feels good to pretend.)

And when they were saying goodbyes after the war ended, maybe he told Odysseus to get home quickly bc "Telemachus needs you", and Odysseus immediately knew no one knew the truth of this statement more than Diomedes.
