I would like all Americans (and everyone else) who are excited for the Superbowl to know: Before the actual Superbowl there's a live tournament on TV, here in Germany, called "American Ice Football".
It is exactly what it sounds like: American Football but played on Ice, in shoes with entirely smooth soles.
It's a tournament with 4 teams and they are called Eastside Ossis, Westside Wessis, Northcoast Naughties and Southside Smoothies and it's just hilariously entertaining.
Here's a video to show you how stupid it looks:

the touchdown dances should not only be allowed they should be MANDATORY if you don’t do a dance when you get a touchdown you only get half a point and after the game the touchdown dances are played like a montage recap and the team voted to have the better dances (not more, better) gets an extra point.

You hadn’t been feeling the best this week. You and Joe had been dating the past 10 months and you never had any reason to feel insecure about your relationship.
Even the internet trolls who claimed you were just a rebound or a backup didn't know anything about your guy's life to make those comments and it never affected you. You were very secure in your relationship with Joe until today.
This week one of Joe's childhood friends is getting married. You were very excited about it. You could finally incorporate yourself into Joe's world. It was supposed to be a nice week for you but then you got the pleasant surprise of meeting his ex-girlfriend at the wedding rehearsal dinner.
Joe had mentioned her before. Her name was Jules. They were both childhood best friends that didn’t date until college. They had broken up so she could focus on her modeling career and that they were just better off as friends. He never really said more than that. He didn’t feel like any of the details were necessary for you to know. You understood that and you respected him enough to not ask for more information.
You tried not to be a jealous girlfriend but you couldn’t help yourself. She was gorgeous. You had searched her up before on the internet but a google image didn’t do her justice.  She was a model, she had a body you would have killed to have, her hair was long and voluminous, she had the most beautiful blue-green eyes and to make matters worse she was super kind and sweet.
You had no reason to hate her and the fact that her presence made you feel so insecure wasn’t a valid one. You swore Joe's eyes linger on her a bunch of times throughout the dinner but maybe again it was just your imagination. You tapped your stomach as you looked up at the ceiling, your fingers fidgeting as you tried to shake these thoughts away.
Joe walked into the hotel room. He smiled as he saw you laying down on your back as you looked up at the ceiling. The ac seemed to have been blasting the entire day because when he sat down the sheets were really cool and fresh.
“Hey baby.” Joe leaned over to give you a forehead kiss. You smiled as you felt his warm lips. The feeling gave you an overwhelming sense of comfort.
“Hey” You manage to mutter back. Joe had just gotten back from hanging out with his best friend Asher, the groom for tomorrow's wedding and he failed to notice your weird mood as he began to speak.
“You should have seen how nervous Asher is, me and Owen had to calm him down. I hope he's okay tomorrow.” Joe says as he gets comfortable and lays down next to you.
You tried to pretend you were okay and you shifted your weight to the side so you could look at Joe while he talked. You just smiled as you listened to him speak.
“I’m sure he will be fine. Everyone gets pre wedding jitters.” You comment as your eyes glance over at Joe's face, admiring  his chiseled jaw and his gorgeous blue eyes.
“Yeah, it's typical of Asher. He always over-thinks and worries about everything.” Joe replied as he got comfortable and put his arm around your waist.
Joe smiled as he looked over at you, you were looking at him as if you were lost in his gaze. Joe looked at you for a moment before he gave your waist a tight squeeze.
“Is Faith treating you okay?” Joe asks as his fingertips gently move your hair behind your ear.
“Yeah she's super awesome and nice.” You replied to Joe’s question about Asher’s fiance.
“We should get some rest.” Joe sighs as he kisses your cheek. “I have to wake up early to help out.” Joe sighs as he pulls you closer.
“Hmm yeah we should” You sighed as you drowned in his embrace feeling truly comfortable in his arms.
“Good night baby.” Joe kissed your lips gently as he rubbed your back.
“Good night.” You smiled letting yourself relax and shut your eyes
Moments like these really eased your doubts about your relationship. It reminded you that like Asher you should probably stop overthinking and just enjoy the moment with him.
The next day was hectic. The wedding ceremony was going to be at 3:00 pm right now it was 9:00am.
Joe was already up to get ready. He wore a simple black suit. “Morning sleepyhead.” Joe smiled when he saw you through the mirror as you sat up on the bed.
He struggled to tie his tie. You rubbed your eyes as you admired the handsome tall figure looking so elegant in his suit.
“I can help you with that.” You smiled as you lazily got up to help him tie it.
“You're the best baby.” Joe smiled down at you, his hands hovering over your waist as he admired his morning face. A bit swollen because you had just woken up. Your eyes were puffy and red but you still looked as beautiful as ever in his eyes.
“All set baby.” You smiled up at him and he thanked you with a soft kiss on the lips.
An hour later you were halfway through your makeup routine. You didn’t do anything different like you usually did. You weren’t a bridesmaid or anything so you didn’t feel like you had to go all out in your appearance.
“Baby I have to go. As the best man I need to make sure everything's smooth.” Joe pouts as he stuck his head through the bathroom door as he watched you putting on some simple blush on your cheeks.
“Okay baby be safe.” You smiled at him as you watched him walk behind you and wrap his arms around you.
“Can I kiss you baby?” Joe asks as he looks down at you.
“Yeah baby, I still haven’t put on lipstick.” You giggled as he leaned down to kiss your lips.
“See you later baby. You know how to get there right?” Joe asks, making sure you have the right directions.
“Yeah I know it’s literally right next to the hotel by the lake. The grassy area.” You tried to describe what you saw yesterday.
“Yeah, pretty much text me if anything okay?” Joe says as he leans in to give you one last kiss. You kissed him back nodding.
“Love you.” You say as you watch him go out the door in a rush.
He didn’t say it back. You tried to not let that get to you. He was probably super busy dealing with his friend’s Asher over worrying why stress him out with yours?
By the time it was 2:30pm some guests were seated. You felt kind of awkward as you sat in your assigned seat.
You had worn a navy blue dress and had done your hair in a half do. You sat down and tapped your thighs as you nervously waited for the ceremony to start.
You felt kind of lonely. All of these people here today were mainly Joe's friends. While Faith and Jules were incredibly kind to you, you just didn’t feel like they were eager to let you into their circle. Why should they?
You were the villain in their story. They probably talked shit about you behind your back and you couldn’t blame them. It made perfect sense. You had only known these people for some months or met them today and everyone else has seemed to know each other since almost forever.
You watched the whole wedding ceremony play out. You had a small smile on your face but you weren’t really focused on the bride and groom at all.
You were more focused on the maid of honor who was Jules and her subtle glances at the best man, Joe. You also noticed how Joe would reciprocate those glances.
As the bride and groom exchanged their vows Joe couldn’t help but notice Jules. Joe shifted slightly as he caught himself staring at Jules. After a couple of moments he snapped himself back into reality and focused his gaze on the couple exchanging vows.
You noticed all of this and you couldn’t help but feel jealous. But this was supposed to be a happy day especially for Faith and you didn’t want to ruin it. So you just put on a fake smile and just pretended everything was fine
The wedding reception was barely starting and you were fine until the best man and the maid of honor shared a dance.
You noticed the way they both moved in sync. Their bodies swaying together looking like a perfect couple.
Your mind begins to fill with dangerous self esteem inducing thoughts.
You notice how much better he looked with her in his arms. How he laughed at something she said to him. They were both famous and incredibly attractive. They just seemed to look better together than you ever did with Joe.
Maybe your brain was overreacting, maybe it was just two friends reuniting and dancing but it seemed like more in your eyes.
You watched this and fidgeted with your bracelet that Joe had gifted you on your six month anniversary. As you watched them dance you began to feel anxious and a growing fear that Joe was going to come up to and dump you had begun to cloud your mind.
If that did happen. You would blame your bad luck for not inheriting the best genes your parents had to offer. Maybe you were a boring lover and you should have tried to spice things up in the bedroom. You thought about those games you missed or times when you put your career over spending quality time with Joe.
You felt nauseous and you wanted to barf at the thought of Joe breaking up with you for his ex. It's sufficient to say in your head you were overreacting and there's no way you can continue torturing yourself by sitting here and watching this.
You quickly stood up and excused yourself to the restroom to Joe's parents who had been talking amongst themselves.
No one seemed to bat an eye or care as you walked to the restroom. Why should they? Who were you? Just some girl Joe was dating to get over his breakup with his ex.
Those internet trolls probably had a point. Joe's friends and family all probably laughed at the thought of you dating Joe.
Everyone else seemed to know exactly what you were to Joe except you. At least you were realizing it now. All you ever were was simply a rebound.
A few minutes later Joe was glad the dance was finally over. Joe quickly removed his arms from Jules. He couldn’t wait to get you out here.
He loved to dance with you. He swore you were the greatest dancer ever and he wanted to show you off on the dance floor.
His eyes glanced around the room several times trying to locate you but you were nowhere to be found.
“Hey do you guys know where…” Joe didn’t even have to finish that sentence as his mom answered .
“She said she was going to the restroom.” Robin says as she looks at Joe.
“Oh okay I’ll just wait.” Joe says as he takes a seat.
Ten minutes pass by as Joe waits patiently but he is getting pretty worried.
“Do you want me to check up on her?” Robin offers as she notices how worried Joe seems to be.
“Yeah I’ll go with you.” Joe follows his mom as they walk to the bathrooms of the venue.
Joe waits outside as Robin makes her way into the women's restroom.
No one besides you is using the restroom and Robin recognizes those heels under the stall.
“Are you okay sweetie?” Robin asks as she stands in front of the stall.
You quickly wipe your tears and answer. “Yeah I'm okay, the food didn’t sit well in my stomach.” You lied as you flushed the toilet to add on to your lie.
“Okay sweetie.” Robin says she takes this time to use the restroom too she washes her hands then fixes herself in the mirror it's clear she's waiting on you.
You sigh softly mentally preparing yourself to come out. So you give the toilet one last flush pretending as if you did take a shit.
You wash your hands keeping your head low but Robin notices your puffy swollen eyes.
“Sweetie, are you okay?” Robin asks as she looks over at you.
“Yeah, I'm fine.” You lied through your teeth.
“No you aren’t.” Robin responds. “What's going on sweetie?” Robin asks kindly but it was also a bit demanding as if she wasn’t going to leave without an explanation.
You sighed as you looked over at Robin. Should you open up to her? You shake your head and look at the floor.
“I know this is supposed to be a fun weekend but I'm having a hard time fitting in with Joe and his crowd and it's really getting to me.” You open up a bit.
“Oh sweetie don’t worry about it, Joe's friends all love you. They love you because Joe loves you.” Robin says with such confidence it almost reassured you.
“Not Jules.” You breathe out her name as you keep your head down. “I know she doesn’t and I don’t want to be the jealous girlfriend but it's hard  seeing how perfect they look together on the dance floor. It kind of makes me feel like I'm in the way of something.” You admit to Robin.
You were surprised you were even admitting all these things to her but ever since you met her, which you have known her for 6 months, she was always like the mother you wished you had.
“Aww sweetie don’t think that Joe loves you with all his heart.” Robin assures you as she rubs your arm.
Suddenly you see her go out the door and you wipe your tears. You see the door swing back open, expecting Robin but it's your tall and handsome boyfriend.
“Baby what's wrong?” Joe immediately pulls you into a hug. “Did something happen? Did your family call?” Joe asks as he rubs your back in an attempt to comfort you.
“No everythings okay, it's just me overreacting.” You explain as you hug Joe back. It's such a warming presence that washes over you whenever Joe hugs you and you feel so safe in his arms
“Talk to me baby, what's up?” Joe gently lifts your chin up with his fingers.
“It's just..” You sighed contemplating what to say. “I don’t know, I feel so left out. It's stupid.” You say as you look back down not telling him the whole truth about how you feel.
“Baby it's not stupid, it isn’t” Joe reassures you. “And I’m sorry if I did anything to make you feel that way. I know I’ve been super busy with my friends and I’m sorry if I didn’t make any effort to make you feel included.” Joe says as pulls you into another embrace.
“Don’t cry baby, I love you so much and I’m sorry.” Joe says again as he kisses your cheek. You smile as you feel his hand gently wipe your tears.
You wanted to avoid the topic but you couldn't. You had to ask the question. It was eating you up inside. “Do you still like her?” You ask him.
“Like who?” Joe responds as he looks down at you.
“Jules.” You say as you look into his blue eyes.
“Come on baby, is that what this is about?” Joe says as he cups your face with his hand. “I don’t like her. I promise. I like you… no actually, I love you.” Joe says so confidently with a prideful grin which sort of eased all your worries.
“Come on, baby let's go out there and dance. Let me show off my girlfriend” Joe says with a grin as he puts your hand on your waist. You smile up at him and embrace him one last time
“I love you.” You smiled up at him as you leaned forward to give him a kiss.
“Love you more.” Joe says with a happy little grin as he kisses you back.
He leads you outside and you both dance to a few songs.
Now that all the most important wedding stuff was over you could feel Joe's friend more eager to socialize with you.
“He’s totally whipped.” Owen slurs he’s a bit buzzed. You could hear it in his voice as he talked to you. You just stand there and take a sip of your drink. Joe was talking to his friend Asher and you were just listening to Owen.
“Whenever he had the opportunity all he could do was talk our ear off about you.” Owen takes a chug of his drink. You smiled as Owen informed you willingly about that. You had spent the past few days a bit insecure about your relationship but it seemed like there was no reason to be.
“I have never seen him so in love before. He was going through this tough period last year but you popped up and that completely disappeared. It's like you bring out the best version of him. Do you have any girl relatives you can hook me up with?” Owen says as leans against the wall to balance himself he looks over at you with a small smile.
“You know what Owen I might have a cousin who may be interested.” You chuckle as you look over at him. It's like he was totally easing your worries, it was a relief to know Joe was always thinking about you even when you weren’t around.
“Hey is Owen bothering you.” Joe lightheartedly jokes around and you feel his hand snake around your waist. You smile at him about to answer but Owen does the honors instead.
“She's gonna set me up with her cousin bro! We can go on double dates and shit!” Owen puts his hand up for a high five. Joe chuckles he can tell his best friend is marking that thin line between buzz and drunk but he still gives him a high five.
“Really?” Joe raises an eyebrow. You shake your head no and Joe nods approving that you didn’t actually plan on doing that.
“Let's get you some water.” Joe says as he leads Owen to get him some water.
You sit down at the table and you feel the chair being pulled as you see Jules sit next to you.
Immediately her presence made you feel super insecure. She had the most perfect posture and she just fixed herself up so well.
“Hey” She smiles at you.
“Oh hey.” You smile back as you begin to fidget with your bracelet again.
“Joe has told me so much about you, it’s so nice to finally actually get to know you.” Jules says with a kind genuine smile.
You smile back at her. “Really?” You question as you look over at her.
“Totally! He was super excited for all of us to meet you.” Jules says as she looks over at you.
You give her a small smile but her words don’t help much at all. In fact it actually makes you worry a bit about the fact they conversed but then again they were childhood bestfriends so it’s not like they weren’t going to talk.
“Don’t look at me like that…” Jules says with a kind smile she could see through your facial expression that you didn’t trust her and she hated that. She didn’t want her friend's girlfriend to look at her with envy or hatred.
“I know you probably like doubting me and I get that this is awkward for you because me and Joe are ex’s but me and Joe were just some phase.” Jules begins to explain.
“Oh no you don’t have to explain anything…” You try to stop her but she cuts you off.
“No, please just listen.” Jules says as she leans her elbow on the table. “You know in life when you do something because it's supposed to be the right thing to do?” Jules asks you as she looks over at you.
You nodded your head. “Like going to college?” You respond a bit confused where she was going with this.
“Yeah basically.” she says. “That was literally what happened with me and Joe. We just dated because it was the “right” thing to do but it didn’t feel right in my heart.” Jules says to you.
You nodded your head, you didn’t want to admit it but you were kind of glad she opened up to you and explained that it did calm you down a bit. At the same time it also made you feel worse because you had no right to hate this really sweet girl. There was a bit of silence after but Jules insisted on talking to you more.
“Did Faith invite you to the spa weekend for next month?” Jules asked as she looked over at you.
“Yeah she did, but I haven't RSVP yet.” You respond to her.
“Girl you have to come, it's so much fun.” Jules says excitedly she seems to genuinely want to befriend you. You had seen fake before and this wasn’t it. But you still didn’t feel comfortable enough these people weren’t your friends they were Joe’s.
“I have to check my schedule.” You try to brush it off.
“Okay but Faith already talked to Joe and told him he's not allowed to keep you occupied that weekend.” Jules jokes and smiles at you.
You laugh and look over at her. She had this very gleeful and calm aura that somehow made you want to befriend her.
You hear a phone ring and she lights up as she looks down at her phone. “Oo my boyfriend is calling, I'll be back.” She smiles at you as she stands up and answers the phone. You nod your head at her as you watch her walk away.
You sit there by yourself contemplating your earlier thoughts. You were definitely overdramatic. Everyone but you seemed to fully see just how much Joe loved you.
“Hey baby, you want some water?” Joe sat next to you putting a water bottle on the table and leaned to give you a small peck on the cheek.
“Sure! How's Owen?” You asked him as you pulled the water bottle into your hands.
“Hmmm he's okay but a few more drinks and he might pass out.” Joe chuckles as he looks over at you. Admiring you as you sat there doing absolutely nothing. He loved everything about you.
“I love you so much.” Joe says as he looks over at you. He wants to make sure he reminds just how much he does.
“I know.” You smile as you wrap your arms around him and let your worries drift away. “I know, and I love you more.” You respond as you give him a soft kiss on the lips.
“Good, I want you to know that. If you feel unloved by me then I have failed as a boyfriend.” Joe says with a cute little pout as he looks into your eyes. You give him a small smile as you embrace him for another hug.
“Now I need you to come with me and explain to Asher that I actually rode the rides with you when I took you to six flags. They don’t believe me at all.” Joe says as he pulls you up gently. You followed him with a huge smile on your face for the first time this week, you didn’t doubt the love between you and Joe. Your mind felt serene and at peace as you followed behind him, your fingers interlaced with his.
