a sea of endless green, the hills rolling as far as you can see, meeting the mountains somewhere in the distance like old friends. the sun is a honey melt in the sky, ripening to a deep blue. the flowers, bursts of red and pink and orange and white, scatter over the fields before you.

a figure in the distance. silhouetted against the setting sun. standing there, lonesome against the sky.

you'd know the slope of his shoulders anywhere.

"vash!" you crow to the heavens happily, a bird crying out. "vash the stampede!"

that figure turns, but you're already running for him, running down the slopes and bends of the earth and towards him.

and he runs for you, too. shouting your name into the sky.

when you collide, its like reckless stars.

he laughs as he catches you, as he turns to take the brunt of the fall, arms around you tight and secure. with all the momentum, you both roll over each other a few times in the flowers, down the slope of the hill.

when you both finally still, you're on top of him again, still laughing. you pick yourself up, hands flattening against his stomach to lift yourself up. your legs are straddled on either side of his waist.

when your giggles subside, you're left looking at each other, breathing hard. petals caught in his hair, his hat missing somewhere, shirt a little open underneath your hands.

"hey, cowboy," you say slowly, taking him in like you can't believe it's really him, breathless with your excitement, aching with your joy. you breathe it through your smile;

"you came back."

"heya, cowgirl," he says back and his hands twitch, reaching up to pluck petals from your own hair, to take you in, too, "course i came back—i told'ya i would."

his smile is wide and brimming, but you can see that touch of sadness in his eyes—that creeping melancholy, like it's own vine that overtakes and chokes out the flowers of his happiness. you touch at the corner of his eyes as if to chase it away.

"i wasn't sure you'd make it back to me." you admit, smile waning.

he reaches up and covers your hand with his. catches it. presses his lips to your open palm in a reverent kiss. his brow furrows for just a moment.

"i did my best." he says, "i made you a promise."

you pull your hand away to fist both in the front of his shirt. "almost makes up for how you left me, vash the stampede—damn criminal that you are."

he smiles sheepishly, "i am sorry, sweetheart, i knew you'd be mad—"

"damn right i was!" you say, shaking him a little, baring your teeth.

but then you take him in again, underneath you. alive and breathing. heart kicking beneath your hands, beneath all those scars and wounds. back in your life like he'd never left. back on these hills and under the same sky. tears prick your eyes.

you could cry having him back—it's like a dream you thought you'd never have again.

"you better not ever do that to me again—" you say, voice breaking, trying to be angry and tough but so, so lovesick, "you hear me, vash?"

"loud and clear," he says, his starry eyes suddenly welling with their own tears, smiling fond and soft at your anger that isn't really anger at all. he swallows around it all, "i got a lifetime to make up for it, huh?"

you grip the front of his shirt, hauling him up to you, and he yelps a little, laughing.

"you better, cowboy."

he kisses you hard, kisses you desperate and sorry and aching. his hands, one cool and metal, and the other warm and flesh, all over you suddenly. around you. hitching you tighter to him, mouth warm and soft and stubble scraping up against your lips like it had so long ago.

when you pull away, breathless, he says, "let me start now," and suddenly rolls you onto your back in a field of flowers. the sun sinks in the sky, bruising blue and soft, stars winking to life above you both. the moon's curve is a soft smile, shining down on a lovelorn earth.

"let me show you how sorry i really am, cowgirl."

when he kisses you again, you taste the curve of his smile, and yours fits against it like an old, worn key coming up against it's homelock.

Seriously, do you think that Jace bullied Luke?

I remember Jacaerys screaming at his brother for his lack of prowess when they were training on the beach, right? What if it wasn’t an isolated occurence?

Ooo I do remember that one swordtraining scene at the beach! But honestly? I wholeheartedly believe in the idea of Jace being the best big brother ever. In fact, I’m convinced that in S2 we’ll see more of how Luke’s death badly affected him.

Jace might have shouted at Luke while they were training, and I am convinced that wouldn’t be the first time Jace scolded Luke for his lack of fighting skills— though I don’t consider that was in a bullying manner, but rather, as some sort of push to help Luke stand up for himself; because at that time,, he was just training with his older brother, but in an actual fight / war, they won’t be merciful with Luke only because he lacks fighting skills.

So, I don’t think Jace actually bullied Luke. I think they were good sibling besties and I know he will seek revenge for what happened for our lovely Luke— Jace just always wanted the best for his little brother. 🥺

- i didn’t really like him at first, he was a little too brutish and rough for me

- before we got together he would make a little bit of frost with his vision and make snowflakes fall into my hair so he had an excuse to touch me and brush them away with his fingers…and he still does this tbh :’)

- he is surprisingly good and gentle with kids and that’s something that started to sway my heart towards him before we started dating

- he likes to pick me up…whether it’s throwing me over his shoulder, or bridal style, or hugging me and spinning me around in the air !

- we love to go on picnics together, go to the beach, and shop a little when he’s on the surface

- we are actually a pretty affectionate couple >////< very handsy and he doesn’t really mind pda (i however get shy haha)

⌱ TITLE: A Cursed Love

⌱ SYNOPSIS:

Princess Gray has been cursed since birth to freeze anyone she touches but all she’s wanted her whole life was to find true love, which becomes an issue when she becomes of age. Despite being widely loved and sought out for her beauty, she struggles to find her one true love when her suitors either run away, confess to wanting to use her power, or fall victim to the effects of her curse.

In comes the Duke of the North, Duke Wriothesely, who aggravates the princess. Due to certain circumstances, Gray learns he may be the only man alive immune to her curse. But the very next morning she learns he remembers not a thing of the night before. So how will she get the Duke to trust her enough so that she may touch him again? More importantly, will she be able to find true love with the what she deems the bane of her existence?

⌱ ADDITIONAL PLOT POINTS:

As a result of sabotage, Duke Wriothesely is drugged so he ends up getting a little too flirty with the princess when he sees her walking out the lavatory, saying things an honorable man would never speak to a woman. In turn, Gray quite literally slaps him, but she notices too late that she’s gloveless (they’d been forgotten in the lavatory). However, Wriothesely never freezes to ice, just laughs and walks off in his drugged state.

Gray goes to sleep confused that night bc he’s the first person immune to her curse but he’s such an asshole. However when she meets him the next morning in the hospital wing, she learns from the nurse that he was not at fault for last nights behavior.

Still, after talking to him, she learns that (1) he’s still a little bit of an asshole (with how much of a flirt he is) and (2) that Wriothesly remembers nothing from that night.

Wriothesely was drugged with a new substance that makes people say what they never would. My point here is that wrio would never ever have any subconscious thoughts that were rude and disrespectful to women. But the drug made him do it.

He fell first and harder.

The moment Gray fell for him was when the Duke confessed his love and while confessing removed her gloves and maneuvered her hands to cup his face be he no longer cared if he’d freeze. He’d take dying over never knowing what Gray’s embrace feels like.

First kiss happens when Wriothesely learns he isn’t an ice block despite Gray touching him. Happens on page 458.

3. his passion for doing well at this silly side quest, even when the sword was really cutting him, if it meant helping reunite with asirpa

4. his silly dance teasing the audience right before he cuts his arm with the sword

three. yesss : ( this was the main reason. the number one reason that really made me fall in love with him is simply because he is selfless. he’s always talking about wanting to protect asirpa from the evils of the world, he’s always defending her from people who call her names and disrespect her when he’s around. he never lets that go. never “takes it” even when asirpa says she’s used to those things. and watching him realize that, “oh! it’s a real sword,” and continue to go through with the plan because he believes in her strength, trusts her intelligence to see through what he’s trying to convey to her from miles away, AGH !!! and this part here :

we hear what saichi is thinking. there is no filter, no added kindness to put up a good front nor to show off their close relationship together— this is just what saichi thinks of asirpa. this is his true wish, and his belief.
