Yesterday I was thinking about something... remember the first time Tsukasa saw Yashiro and Kou? That time in volume 4

Well, I went to take a look at it and noticed something interesting, Tsukasa's reaction when he saw the two was the same, he said the same thing, he just had different expressions.

Let me show you

That was his reaction when he saw Yashiro, "wow" was what he said with an expression that was kind of impressed and surprised at the same time, and then he held her hand and smiled at her.

Let's take a look on his reaction with Kou now

It was the same reaction. "Wow" again, but this time he seemed more shocked and angry

These could be completely normal reactions and easy to ignore, if it weren't for what happened at the Red House. That's where Tsukasa met Yashiro and Kou, it was his first contact with them

At that time the two helped and protected Tsukasa, they had empathy and compassion for him. One of the first people to care about him probably, he was very happy with their visit, he said so himself

Tsukasa liked them both, he still likes Yashiro, remember? He doesn't hate her, she helped him in the past, why would he hate her? Same reason with Kou, especially since Kou was the one who spent the most time with him. In fact, Tsukasa is grateful to them for visiting.

Apart from the fact that Kou said all those things to Tsukasa, but I'll ignore that for now

Tsukasa having the same reaction to both of them is now justified, so it's not a coincidence. I believe that Tsukasa with the seal has all the memories from the Red House, so from the beginning of the story he already knew who Nene Yashiro and Kou Minamoto were

This reaction demonstrates surprise and how impressed he was with these situations. The people who helped him before were now against him. Anyone would be surprised, right? Especially Tsukasa who doesn't have a good understanding of emotions

Speaking more directly about his reactions, I'll start with Yashiro.

In addition to being impressed, his surprise may be that she is together with Hanako, and her purifying powers are being shown. And she really hurt Tsukasa in a way, attacking him first. The shock of seeing an old friend is present here, the surprise of seeing where that person has come, and even more so being so close to someone you love. Maybe he felt hurt? Betrayed? She attacked him, she didn't remember who he was. But maybe he already expected this, he knew it could happen.

Talking about Kou

Tsukasa was in shock to see Kou again, and perhaps more shocked to see his old friend with such an angry expression on his face. That expression was for Tsukasa. Kou didn't recognize him either. How could he? That hadn't happened yet, at least for Kou. Tsukasa was also angry that Kou was interrupting his goal at the moment.

This is it. He was surprised to see two old friends again, and this time, against him.

I absolutely love when Damian refer to himself as "it" in fanfiction.

Either it's because he is still so used to being dehumanised and it's an habit for him, and I get my good old angst.

Or it's when he's older and confident in himself and his identity and reclaim it. And as someone who also uses it/its pronouns, that's somehow very powerful and liberating!

If Giyuu and Shinobu were to ever get together, whether it be canon or fanon it means you have to address the fact that the two have Widely different love languages and significances behind some words and actions. Which is a fun detail I like. You have this:

Giyuu, a guy who grew up with his older sister after losing their parents at a young age which means they were poor for the majority of their life and shunned constantly for it, probably giving him some horrible habits having to do with eating and such. Then lost his sister and best friend and shunned himself off, worsening his already bad habits and now he’s touch starved.

Then you have Shinobu, gal who also lost her parents young but was saved almost immediately after that. Meaning she lived a life not having to worry about money or food or how’d she get by. She was never shunned by anyone, if anything she thrived in her environment and got all the love a kid her age would need. She lost her sister but despite that she still had people around her who loved her and cared for her.

The two are opposites yet so similar since they could have very well gone down similar paths as each other. Giyuu has a hard time expressing love, espically in words but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want it since he’s been deprived of it most of it’s life. Shinobu who’s never had a hard time expressing how she feels, espically through words not understanding standing how meaningful some words and gestures can be since she’s always had them.

hey anon! hopefully the fic will be posted, but you don't have to credit me at all, the tl is short and easy to put together, but thanks for the thought ❤️

I think we should start with infinity war, sam gets snapped and we lose track of what is happening with him until the very end of the endgame movie in the final battle! he was snapped for five years and it happend in wakanda.

sam is actually the one to kick start the final fight scene, he speaks into steve's in-ear piece. the fight is in the location of the avengers headquarters. thanos knocks it down and avengers fight against thanos' army.

after that, we can see sam in tony's funeral along with wanda and bucky. the funeral takes place in Lakeside Cabin, which is tony's house. safe to assume the funeral wasn't exactly next day? everyone looked healed and patched up well, you could use that to give your characters and/or sam a bit of downtime where they register everything and mourn, all in the cabin house or that each went back home and then regrouped. although you could totally assume it was the next day.

then, sam is with steve, bucky and bruce. they were putting together a plot to help restore the gems and fix the timelimes and stuff.

now, this could be located in the lake house still. I looked up locations for this movie, but since this is a credit scene, there isn't many information on it (or there is and I couldn't find it, if so, please link me to it). although, from the looks of it, it's almost the same...

again, this all depends on your headcanons, I think being accurate to the canon is cool but don't let it stress you out so much. they could be somewhere else, or they all stayed together for a few days after tony's funeral and decided to work from there.

BUT, after that, we see steve giving sam the shield.

(of course there's no canon times or dates in the movie and there's no obvious gaps between actions for sam. you could use this to your own advantage but I think it'll be safe to assume that from the minute sam came back until the shield scene there could be three days to four, or insane enough only a night and a day. battle at night, funeral at morning and shield at the afternoon).

The good points of: Rosemary

Today, I will write about our main protagonist: Rosemary.

Rosemary is not my favourite character and she is pretty flat. But a flat character doesn't mean an unlikable character!

But first, I just found the creator has a tumblr here and still publish art about the show so go check them! @dinoraye​

Her design

I already talk about the charadesign of the show, but I want to be more precise with each character.

I really like her charadesign! She matchs the mood of the show and she is easely recognizable.

First: her boots. Having short boots already told us a lot of things about Rosemary: she likes to go outside and having adventures but she's still a kid. Having this kind of shoes show us that she spend a lot of time running, jumping, climbing... that more classic shoes will be not adequate for. Her short socks also matchs the "still-a-kid" vibes.

Next: her dress. The bottom of the dress is big, fluffy, pink and is decorated with laces. It's her way to express her "femininity" and her originality. She is a warrior, but she is confident enough to fight in such a big dress. The top tells us the same thing: the leather over pink fabric and shoulder pads makes her looks like a warrior and the big bow and  puffy sleeves of the shirt is the "feminine" touch.

We can also talks about that the short sleeves and the long mittens helps her to fight with her sword. Sword which reaches her shoulders! Which makes us see her as a competent warrior, but still a kid who needs to learn a lot. The sword design matchs her aesthetic, so it's good.

Finally, her big, pink, fuffly hair adds a lot to her shape. I love how the storyboarders and animators played with her hair and her hairstyles.

                     And kid Rosemary is adorable and I appreciate that                           her style evolved between before and now

Her personnality

For me - despite not having good character developpement - Rosemary's personnality is her greatest force. She is loud and a little bratty sometimes:

But she an energetic, optimistic and supportive friends. When she's on screen,  she is overflowing with positivity and it's contagious! Even if the world is not the most original one, you can feel a little excited because Rosemary is!

And most importantly, her relationship with Sage is so  genuine and adorable. Even when they both at fault, Rosemary tries her best to cheer up Sage and apologize to her. Clearly, Rosemary tries her best to protect her best friend.

If Rosemary had a real arc and evolution, she would have been one of my favourite character. And it’s really surprising because usually I hate this kind of character (Pinky Pie, Mabel, Star Butterfly...)

Her story and her arc

Rosemary... doesn't really evolved. She stays pretty much the same during all the show: she misses her mother, she's sad about it and the rest of the time she is this not really bright young girl but endearing who tries to have fun.

The story with her mom is really classic and we barely know anything about Lavender. But there is one scene I like:

This scene is tearfull. There is not a word, just a little and calm music in the background. It's just Rosemary with her memories about her mom when her best friend has a lot of supportive relatives. This is the best scene around this theme in the show and really, here you can see all the potential in her character.

Finally, her arc - as choppy and rushed it is - is satisfying. At episode 11, she's still the not-so-bright and childish girl and at episode 12 she's this strong and wise leader. At first, I didn't understand what makes her change like that. Sure, she had to kill the dragon, but it's not enough to make her change this quickly. But then, I rewatch it and I saw this:

What do we have here? We have her dragon plush of the intro, just an easter-egg. Two cats, one nice and one bad which are equals or maybe not, Olive being hurt and... a dog. This dog, it's Rosemary with her fluffy pigtails. And this dog Rosemary looks sad and worried for Olive. Rosemary didn't change in episode 11, she began at episode 9:  Festival of Fall part 2.

             She ran after Olive despite Sage telling her she's too reckless

                       She was worried for Olive when she hurted her

                  She even seems surprised to see blood on her sword

                                       Look how terrified she looks

During episode 9, Rosemary fought her first real battle. She hurts someone that she thought was nice during the first encounter. It's a lot for her, outside of the examen in episode 7, she never really used her sword for hurting.

The show didn't really show it, but Rosemary changed at this moment. In the last episode, the adrenaline and the fear of hurting someone, especially her friends, push her to be a better leader and to not jump in the middle of the danger without a plan. This is a good arc.

Conclusion

Rosemary has a lot of potential as the main protagonist, her energy can be a quality and a flaws. And I love the fact that she can be a "feminine tomboy".

I saw The Boy and The Heron tonight with my mum and guys you need to see it too!! This was brilliant, the animation is flawless as always, the music is fantastic, the story is so interesting and captivating! I live my boy Mahito, Natsuko is the best aunt/step-mum, Shoichi is a great dad (and a great DILF like wow) and fisherwoman Kiriko can ask me to cut fish with her until I die like yes please??

My only negative point is that I didn't like the French voice for Natsuko, the woman who did it sounded so bored and intinterested 😭

Other than that 1000/10
