DP x DC Prompt #2 - Fenton Cafe

Inspired by that one underground bar post @stealingyourbones

The Fentons move to Gotham to support Jazz at her new college and open up a small cafe on the first floor of their blimp house to earn money. 

Now the Fentons moved to a sketchy part of Gotham cause that’s the only place they could land safely. It doesn’t take long for rogues to slither in looking for easy cash. 

And promptly get blasted by the Fenton anti-ghost Defense System. They wake up to Maddie and Jack tending to their wounds and shoving a tin of fudge into their hands, respectively. The goon/rogue gets booted by Danny after being forced to listen to his parent’s ghost rant for several hours. 

Weirdly, it doesn’t take long before the cafe becomes a safe haven for rogues and goons alike to relax. But then the bats arrive to get a handle on the new ‘villain hideout.’

The Fenton’s don’t discriminate. The bats get the same treatment as the rogues all the way down to the complimentary fudge. No one comes into their house with that kind of attitude. 

It’s a Violence-free unless you’re a Fenton zone. 

But It’s a real party when Danny’s rogues start showing up.

Danny and Dani and Dan get Alfreded in three fell swoops

So like, sad time, but Alfred dies while Bruce is doing his world tour. He never survived long enough to see Bruce become Batman. Died alone in the Manor, after a particularly nasty fall and a broken neck.

But that was unacceptable.

Master Bruce, insufferable boy, could not lose another paternal figure in his life. Also the Manor was still a mess, and Bruce would need someone to make sure he didn't accidentally poison himself.

So he hid his corpse on the Manor grounds, and got to work.

And he was so glad he stayed; sure, it had taken a bit to stop glowing, but really the floating thing was amazingly helpful in reaching the chandelier, and after Master Bruce had returned he had gotten so many grandchildren.

Fast forward; Danny defeated Pariah Dark, he is Crown Prince of the Infinite Realms, Dan is attempting reformation and is technically a Prince by relation, and Dani is attempting to be Dan's parole officer and is definitely a Princess 100% she never forgets that no sir.

And Danny gets approached by some of the Observants, and they tell him that there is a very powerful ghost in Gotham, one that fully and completely blends in with humans and really needs to come to the Infinite Realms to complete his paperwork. But whenever they show up, this ghost thinks that they're there to force him to stay in the Infinite Realms.

And he kicks their asses.

Brutally.

For a bit he had a tiny kid ghost with him kicking their asses as well, but the kid randomly disappeared one day.

The Observants very clearly outline that this ghost is not Gotham herself, although the tax-evading criminal has been seen having tea with her.

Danny has no desire to deal with this; he just graduated high school and needs to focus on what college he's going to choose, so if Dan or Dani want to throw hands with some weird Gotham Ghost then by all means. Fuck taxes anyways, what did the Zone even take for taxation, what-?

So Danny splits his time college hunting and trying to find out how tax laws work in the Ghost Zone.

Dani goes to the old man first, and Alfred promptly sits her down and gives her cookies and hot chocolate, treats her like the kid she's never been treated like between Vlad and all of the Zone focusing on the Princess thing, and she feels at home for the second time in her half-life.

Dani gets a call from a nervous Observant, and promptly tells him she isn't going back either so nyah.

Dan goes to pick her up, and Alfred asks him if he is quite alright, he looks rather tense, and that if it is a fight he wants then the Justice League could probably use a new member, after all Alfred knows an upstanding young man when he sees one, and clearly Dan just needs a chance to prove to himself that he can be good.

Just like another young man Alfred knows.

Dan gets a call from a nervous Observant, and tells them that he's a little busy stopping an alien invasion, and is a tentative member of the Justice League now so he doesn't have time for their bullshit.

Also fuck taxes.

Finally, Danny has no choice.

He goes to drag this random old man and his little sister back to the Zone himself.

Alfred takes one look at him and slowly slides a flier for Gotham University across the kitchen island.

"Your younger sister speaks well of you," the dead butler says, eyes beaming, "and I believe that, given what she has said, you qualify for one of the Wayne Educational Grants for a full ride, so to speak."

Alfred never gets dragged into the Ghost Zone, although eventually he does learn that they weren't trying to drag him into the Land of the dead but were just trying to get him to do paperwork.

He never goes.

Bruce, however, is very fucking confused as to where these strange kids came from.

Bruce x Ember

For Ember, she didn't really don't date often in the human realm. She was just on tour in Gotham with her band before she left. So after she returned, she was looked at by her ex as if she were hiding a child from him, while Bruce politely looking at Danny. He isn't their child! He is her parol officer, so she doesn't try to take over the world again!!

At least Bruce's children were fans of her music. A/N Not even 1 of Bruce kids is surprised that Ember was a ex-villainess.

Clockwork has been keeping an eye on the going on of his children since he been defeated by them and his time aspect had been sentenced to keep time on track. He gets why his children dislike him, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to have some type of revenge even if it's petty. Especially on Zeus. He gets his chance when Dan crosses into the main timeline. After Dan is captured by Danny, Clockwork becomes his parole officer in a way. Dan does community service in the Infinite Realms. If he has been good and reach his quota Clockwork will send him to troll the Olympian gods especially Zeus, with the rule of no killing.

Hi there! Regarding the tag game; I'd like to hear about the 'Danny is Jason's Parole Officer' WIP, please!

Ah yeah that is a silly one it starts like this:

Walker looked down at the disgusting pink skinned felon. Glistening red flowed down from the split eyebrow and over the swollen shut right eye, down the cheek to drip onto the ground; blood, corrosive life liquid. Like every time since he first laid eyes on the law breaker he was repulsed by this one’s stubborn choice to wear a meat suit. Every moment he refused to show his true form was another year laid on his sentence.

The unhurt left eye glared at him and his teeth were bared in a snarl like an animal. Walker did not doubt that if his officers didn’t keep a firm grip on him that he would attack Walker himself. It wouldn’t be the first time. He doubted anyone on staff could claim to not have felt this particular felon’s punches and kicks. Walker could still feel a soreness in his jaw from this latest escape, but unlike the felon he wasn’t wearing a disgusting meat suit so his damage didn’t show.

“Take him to his cell.” Walker waved them away. It had taken much too long to recapture the abomination this time. He’d managed to free Vortex during the latest riot and the chaos that had wrought had made them lose the immediate trail.

Both Vortex and Walker’s newest core-ache had escaped much further than was good.

The accursed half-breed had of course been delighted when he brought Vortex back, full of digs about Walker’s ability to do his job. Walker’s threats to put him in a cell where he belonged was just met with a laugh and challenge. One he hadn’t been able to take up since he needed the special cell for the escaped convict who started this mess.

But now he was recaptured and Walker could finally go to the council meeting.

Walker finished delivering his report, it was most dissatisfying to look at the numbers. While they had managed to recapture all but a few spirits, some they had lost track of - Walker might have to petition Skulker to bring them back, he did not look forward to that. Break outs had risen exponentially since he first arrested the abomination. The situation was untenable, but it was not in his nature to give up.

The esteemed council members Frostbite of the Far Frozen and Pandora of the Acropolis looked at him in concern. It was Frostbite who ended up speaking.

“Perhaps, if this inmate troubles you so, it is a matter for the Great One.”

“That delinquent should be imprisoned right alongside him. I do not need his help,” Walker snarled

Both Frostbite and Pandora sent him displeased disappointed looks at that and Walker had to look away.

“What I meant, was that you could put this prisoner in the Great One’s custody and it would be his responsibility to make sure he doesn’t cause trouble.”

Walker huffed and stood up. “I will consider it.”

A few hours later Walker was frozen at the edge of his haunt to see his prison, his lair, once more in chaos.

Something cracked inside him.

Fine.

The abomination would be the half-breed’s problem.

So this is the beginning of the fic, what follows is Danny helping Jason home to the living realm and then as a joke claiming he's Jason's parole officer - a joke that might be taken a bit too far for the paranoid batfamily...

Did Clark just get shown how inferior he is in all facets of his identity - superhero, father, Kryptonian, friend? Yes, yes he did. (It will happen again)

Now, to be fair, Clark doesn't think he's a dad. He thinks he's a parole officer. So of course he's doing a crap job: parole officers don't parent their cases. On the other hand, he's an adult, and his choice to distance himself from the situation is entirely his own.

Clark "Supes" Kent could have been a great parent. Or, more probably, he could have gotten non-league therapy and been a suitably okay parent. But the trauma of Conner's creation plus the determination to "go about this the right way" means that he's not really able to sit and think about Conner sensibly all that long, and no one can tell him otherwise, because that's their boss?? A paragon of moral standing?? And also their boss, and the guy whose genetic code got manipulated by Luthor?? Of course he should decide what's going on with him??

So. Uh. Getting enabled by the org he runs doesn't help him get his head out of his butt at all. He is, actually, doing a crap job, and he is pretending he has no idea as equally as he is desperately clinging to the idea that this. this is fine. It has to be. Doesn't it?

It's just verrrry interesting that Conner's existence makes his mistake take on all three fronts of his life-- familial, ancestral, and professional. This makes it funnier when Danny kicks his ass in on all sides.

She was late. Okay, she wasn't on anyone's time but her own, since Ivy was still in lockdown in Arkham, but still. Every time she tried to leave the house something fell down or a door jammed. The was finally about to leave when her phone rung.

She let out a grow of frustration but went to answer it anyway. No reason to give her parole officer an excuse. "What do you want?"

"Aunt Harleen Help." Harley felt her heart seize up at the voice. It had been so many years since she'd heard it, the speaker having then been in elementary school and now on the verge of womanhood, But she'd know it anywhere. "Jazzy?"

"I'm scared."

And that broke her heart a little. What would scare her niece so much that she would reach out to the branch cut off the family tree. "Your parents-"

"I think they killed him." she sobbed.

Oh she hoped her niece wasn't calling to learn how to hide a body. "Your parents killed someone?"

"I think they killed Danny."

A wave of paradoxical calm washed over Harley. She was furious enough to be thinking with absolute clarity and that was never good. None of the Quinzel sisters had been entirely rational, in her professional opinion. Alicia, the eldest, had decided to say fuck you to society and live on a farm growing rutabaga in a house with no plumbing and powered by nothing more than her spite. She herself had tried to become a respectable doctor and instead become a rogue. And Maddie, well, their baby sister was obsessed with ghosts.

So much for Maddie being the harmless one.

"I'm on my way Jazzy. If they try to hurt you, either run or hurt them first."

"They won't." Jazz said. But it was filled with bitterness, not conviction. "They see me as an actual person."

She didn't know what kind of bigotry had taken a hold of Maddie and her husband, but if they had so much as laid a finger on her nephew's hair, they were going to find out why even the clown could fear her.

And look how that ended up! Gotham hissed, cradling the amalgamation of human and ghost to her. Your first champion almost ended up with his soul shattered because no one could aid him. A child, because you could not wait for a Champion who was grown.

Amity was silent.

Danny is mine now. I will care for him. Name the Huntress as your new Champion. If you do better by her....we can talk further.

Amity wouldn't argue further. It was young as far as city spirits went, where as Gotham was a major power. And like a mortal child given a pet before they were truly ready, it had let it's responsibilities slip. Gotham would have a harder time stepping in if the new Champion was failed in the same way,

Now what to do with the little one. As much as he'd make a wonderful bird, it wouldn't be the best for him. Not with the emotional wreck the Wayne household was and the little Champion's own distaste for the wealthy. (Another thing Amity had to answer for. Letting that man become mayor and use that position to harm her Champion) Hmm, if he couldn't be a bird, he'd make a delightful kitten.

But he's alive. And he's not alone. As it turns out, Talia is a grandmother. She takes this news surprisingly well. If only Damian did the same.

This was a gift fic for an inquiring reader and it took up so much of my brain that it went from being a 10-chapter quick fic, to being a whole plot-filled, time traveling misadventure.

Lost and Found Verse:

Jazz Fenton and Jason Todd used to be mutuals, writing fanfics and commenting on eachother's, chatting about life, etc. It all ended when Jason disappeared mysteriously after running away. The first arc ("Lost") is finished: What came before and after. Life and recovery and friendship and losing yourself, but starting to find.

The second part "Found" would include 3 different AUs/ways it can go:

1.The Cyclist (temporary name): After his world tour, but before Red Hood, Jason ends up in a small town with a familiar name. Jazz, who struggle to balance school-2 jobs-and-parenting, meet a stranger in the library.

2. Lab Rat (temp. name)- When Jazz catch the Fentons vivisect Danny, ahe take him and run. Who could she turn for help?

3. Not Broken (temp.name) - Jazz got a scholarship to Gotham University. Now she's a single mom to 4 years old Dani, guardian to 16 yo Danny, and a... parol officer sister to Dan. It's August, and her stupid boss won't even let her take the day off to properly grieve. (It's the first August she can't get her old friend's birthday for herself, and she can't stop crying.)

Meg (side fic in "Liminal Skills" series)- "two undead diverge in a yellow wearhouse". In which there's a gunfire, some common sense, a smartass street kid, and bats.

ok so what about a Danny phantom and demon slayer crossover. like danny is dropped in like the final selection arc or something and yadda yadda maybe spider mountain. i think the spider arc works better bc then at the hashira meeting they are like hey whats up with these 2 non human eating demon. i like to think danny would eat the demons

im thinking eating the muzan blood that is making them demons/ extremely bloodthirsty like the blood is in the demon has coagulated into some demon tumor that danny can like phase out of them and eat or yeah just straight up eating them all munch and crunch. i think he is used to the ghost hunger but the fact these human like beings are setting off his hunger is extremely concerning for him

he definitely has sword skills both from his past time traveling shenanigans and maybe from pandora training him if you like the ghostly mentors

would they give him to a specific hashira to watch over him? or would he just keep running from them and meeting up accidentally at the worst times. it all doesnt matter because its my au and i say everyone lives

i think tone shift could happen around either the entertainment district arc or the blacksmith village this gives 2-3 arcs of mischief before seriousness’s

well plot wise to merge them all together is should be the demon house arc there zenitsu and inouske are introduced so adding another is easier but that gives way to much plot time to mess around. realistically spider mountain is the best time to plop him in, a high stakes time with a lot of moving characters and micro arcs all happening at once as well at tanjiro not being an absolute beast at slaying yet. let danny drop in and help him lets say before the lower moon gets him. but before shinobu apears, danny defenda nezuko agains shinobu who asks her typical can a “demon be befriended” to danny who is all snarky like yeah sure just to stab me and we are all good.

that leads me to thinking what if they make her his hasira parole officer. they would probably still be thinking danny is too dangerous a demon to be left unsupervised and if no one can cut off his head (intangible) then the lady who specializes in poisons can pose a threat (blood blossoms instead of wisteria)

Some More Stuff About My Pups

Natalie remembers Caelum. Only vaguely but she still has images of him in her mind and she can still hear his laughter. Mind you, she thinks they’re the imaginings of a child playing with their imaginary friend, but she remembers him

It is not uncommon for sleepovers between Danny, Micah, and Natalie to end with whomever’s parents coming downstairs in the morning to find Danny curled up on the cushion pile on the floor between two fairly large she-wolves

Sam used to sing Micah to sleep when she was a baby. She would always fall right to sleep with “Here Comes the Sun,” so Sam took to calling her little darlin’ when she was a baby. Which Darlin’ found adorable

At their fully grown, the Pups measure in at:

Danny, despite having a personality similar to Milo’s and hating being scared (much to Lily’s delight, given she’s as playful as Sweetheart), has found a lot of enjoyment in scaring the crap out of Micah and Natalie. But only because they’re his two best friends and they are both hard to scare

Caelum was in the clearing the day David made Natalie beta of the pack. He was also there when both kids shifted for the first time, when Gabriel was initially appointed beta, and the days Davey and Angel brought both kids home

Caelum was so deeply integrated into Natalie’s childhood joy that she still sees flickers of his smile when she’s happy

When Natalie was a baby, Davey and Angel thought she cried herself to sleep a lot when she woke up in the middle of the night. But the baby monitor could never pick up on Caelum soothing her back to sleep
