I DOTN KNOW HOW I
I don’t know how I feel abt the episode yet.
I think mainly I’m- scared they’re gonna keep silver a villain? I’m scared they’re not gonna “redeem” him?
Like there’s no indication he wants to change himself, besides that he’s afraid(?) of candle.

You know, it is kinda funny sometimes…. I joined the Adventure Time fandom around mid-way through Season 5. And from what I remember back then, most of the popular headcanons and theories around the origin of Ice King’s Magic Crown played a very similar tune. Some sort of Evil Ice Wizard creating a Magical Artifact that will allow him to live forever, or maybe just create a legacy of Evil Ice Wizards that will freeze the world. You know, kinda on the same vibe Farmworld Finn was going on about when he was under the Crown’s influence.
Tumblr media
But then ‘Evergreen’ came out, and revealed not only that the Crown’s origins lay in a time period much more unique and strange than the Generic Medieval Fantasy a lot of people were imagining
Tumblr media
But that the thing standing at the very core of the Magic Crown’s Curse was not just simple Villainous Hubris or an intentional desire to cause Icy Evil - instead the theme surrounding the Crown’s origin and its Curse is the Cycle of Parental Abuse.
Urgence Evergreen is not your run-of-the-mill Evil Wizard, and he wasn’t trying to create a Curse, but he was an Extremely Bad Dad. I mean, he didn’t consider himself a dad at all - but it’s clear that he raised Gunther since he hatched and the Dinosaur saw him as a parental figure. The only parental figure he had in his entire life. And through Gunther’s entire life, it’s clear Evergreen was emotionally distant and deprived him of the familial connection Gunther needed and he just constantly belittled and insulted him
Tumblr media
And generally showed very little concern for both his emotional and physical well-being.
Tumblr media
He didn’t even do the thing he was supposed to be doing with Gunther, which was teaching him Magic.
And yet Gunther still loved him like a father, and craved his admiration and approval, and wanted to be just like him.
Tumblr media
And we see this Cycle of Abuse happen a bit more literally before we even get to the Crown. Gunther clearly loves his pet Nina a lot, but sometimes he channels his own frustrations with Evergreen at her - mirroring the way Evergreen treats him. Because this is all he ever knew.
Tumblr media
And so, when the Crown granted Gunther his ‘deepest truest Wish’ and made him just like his beloved Master Evergreen, he became a perpetually-angry madman shouting nothing but ‘Gunther no!’.
Tumblr media
Because for all of Evergreen’s pride in his role as the Ice Elemental and his aspirations of being the one to Save the World, this is what he always was in the eyes of his son. Add to it the fact that he never taught Gunther any Magic Basics that could help him control the Crown… Evergreen’s abuse of Gunther literally became a Curse.
One that has not only hurt Gunther and backfired on Evergreen… but keeps hurting any poor soul who comes across the Crown. Generations after Master Evergreen was left as barely even a distant memory, his abuse is still responsible for turning others into Hurt People Who Hurt Others.
And then the Crown ends up with Certified Dad Simon Petrikov.
Tumblr media
And, now, Simon’s Good Dad Qualities did not, like, automatically negate the Crown’s influence. But.. he tried, he always tried. He knew what he needed to do to be the parental figure Marcy needed, and even when the Crown made it hard for him, he tried to fight through it and do his best.
Tumblr media
And even when he totally lost himself to the Crown, he couldn’t stand the thought of hurting her.
Tumblr media
But also.... it's important to remember that Marceline is not the only child-figure Simon raised while under the influence of the Magic Crown.
Tumblr media
Ice King’s relationship with Gunter the Penguin was always kind of a fatherly thing - I mean, that is why he named him the same name he’s given to Marceline, the name that’s ingrained in the Crown as the name of the Evergreen-Clone’s son. But in earlier seasons in the show, it was very… fraught. Ice King would shift rapidly from being very caring, affectionate and sweet towards his lil’ Gunter
Tumblr media
To very Evergreen-esque moments of callousness, neglectfulness and just… venting his own frustrations at his misery as unnecessary anger and cruelty towards the penguin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Misery that is, of course, caused as a result of the Curse of the Magic Crown. The Curse that only came into being through Evergreen’s mistreatment of his own Gunther. The Curse that is also subconsciously pushing Ice King into being just like Evergreen. It torments Ice King and ‘teaches’ him to vent this torment out on others - but especially at his Gunter. Simon’s natural nurturing instincts were still trying to fight through it, the same way he did with Marceline, but it was not always enough. It's important to note that Ice King still always gave Gunter the Penguin more genuine care and affection than friggin’ Evergreen ever gave to Gunther the Dinosaur, but it's just as important to also note that the Curse still affected his treatment of Gunter in all kinds of harmful ways.
But as the show went on, and Ice King started to become more stable, and started to get the help and support he needed… he also became a better father to his Gunter. Like, without Betty’s interference, Simon was not able to overcome the Curse as a Dementia Metaphor, or the Curse as an Addiction Metaphor… But as for the Curse as a Cycle of Abuse Metaphor? Ice King/Simon, through his strong pre-Crown parental side, and through his love for Gunter and his genuine desire to be a better parent - he was breaking the magical Cycle of Abuse that Evergreen started through entirely mundane means.
He grew past his bad-tempered outburst and bouts of neglectfulness, and just became this extremely doting and loving and sweet father to Gunter.
Tumblr media
And so, next time a Reset Crown lended into the clutches of a Gunther, ready to grant a new Wish, the Gunther once again chose to become just like his beloved father figure
Tumblr media
but rather than an irrationally angry madman who cannot say anything but “Gunther, no!”… The very first words Ice Thing says are a reminder of how much he loves his Gunter. How much Gunter knows Simon loves him.
Tumblr media
And he just seems like this sweet, harmless and happily content silly lil Ice Wizard. Maybe not the person Ice King always was, but the person he was always trying to be. I mean, he literally achieved Ice King’s original goal of being happily married to a princess.
Tumblr media
But also just in a general sense, he’s happy and satisfied with his life and he’s not hurting anyone. And just like the original Curse is the legacy of Evergreen’s abuse, this is the legacy of Ice King/Simon’s attempts to do right by Gunter despite his struggles. He has broken the Curse and now it will never torment anyone ever again. Because, well, because Gunter seems to have fused with the Crown so it’s unlikely anyone else will ever be able to wear it. And if someone could, the ‘Curse’ that will be inflicted on them will not be nearly as destructive as Evergreen’s Curse.
(And let’s not forget that Simon’s Honest Attempt at Good Parenting didn’t just neutralize the Curse, it also neutralized a literal eldritch abomination. The Orgalorg Stuff isn’t directly related to the point I wanna make, but that’s also Pretty Cool)
Of course, we also know that although Ice Thing seems happy and content now, this status quo won’t last forever.
Tumblr media
I mean, a thousand years in the future is a long time for things to change. But also, maybe it’s very Thematically Appropriate that the person who seems to be responsible for Ice Thing’s degradation is Gibbon.
Tumblr media
Who is himself a result of a Whole Separate Series of Parental Issues.

Honestly I'm more impressed when reading fanfics in ATLA how Ozai is constantly tormenting his kids(sexually, physically, emotionally) like 24/7. Personally Ozai struck me as the type of person to not really focus on his kids beyond honing in their skills, especially if that kid is Zuko.
Seriously if Zuko never spoke during the war meeting Ozai probably would've entirely ignored him. When we see what Ozai's ideal version of Zuko is like when he's under the impression Zuko killed Aang, Zuko is legit silent and basically sits there like furniture during the meeting.
Also I struggle to see Ozai interacting with his children beyond training since that's probably where Ozai's expertise lies more than parenting. Ursa was probably bench pressing the parenting duties until Ozai told her to leave and even then, I imagine Ozai left other people to do the more tedious tasks like servants or what not.
I believe that Ozai, Ursa, Zuko, and Azula including the entire Fire Nation Royal Family have very complex relationship dynanamics with each other. I believe that over time Ozai began to develop feelings of affection, care, even geniune love for his family. However, since Ozai has been raised to be a ruthless, cunning, manipulative vicious warriors since his childhood. Ozai and Ursa maybe be Fire Nation Royal and Noble by blood. However their personalities and background environment extremely differ. Which is why Ozai is so much colder, cruel, and brutally ruthless compared to his wife Ursa and even brother Iroh. Ozai has been personally brainwashed and socially conditioned since childhood by the Fire Nation Elite and Fire Lord Azulon to become the man that he is today. Compassion, Morality, Peace, Pacifism and Mercy are signs of Weakness and MUST be eradicated and eviscerated. However, during Zuko and Azula early childhood Ozai was more gentle and fatherly towards his children and husbandly towards his wife. Ozai was never some sadistic wife and child beating that the ATLA Fandumb tries to horribly make him out to seem like! It just their Abuse Porn Headcanon Fanficition Obession!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zuko mentions that Ozai and Ursa along with their family used to be happy, and we saw that in Zuko's flashbacks. Yang, just decided to make Ursa a victim because in his mind: URSA IS A GOOD WOMAN! OZAI IS A BAD MAN! SHE MUST BE HELD HOSTAGE BY THE EVIL ABUSIVE MONSTER!!! While Ozai and Ursa arrange marriage does make sense and was confirmed by the creators. It doesn't mean that Ozai and Ursa's relationship was ALWAYS BAD, or SHE WAS KIDNAPPED! Plus, the Urzai relationship is quite normal in the antiquity of Asian societies that the Fire Nation is based on aka Shogunates of Japan and Imperial Chinese Dynasties!!!
Ozai HIMSELF stated in the comics that he tried to be a good father to Zuko and Azula during their young childhood which is canon to flashbacks that Zuko has in the show. Zuko HIMSELF also stated that Ozai tried to be a good father to him and Azula. WHICH ALSO EXPLAINED WHY ZUKO TRIED SO DESPERATELY TO GET BACK IN HIS FATHER'S GOOD GRACE AGAIN AND REGAIN HIS FATHER'S LOVE! So, in conclusion, Ozai did love and care for Ursa, Zuko, and Azula. Despite, according to the comics he was ALSO FORCED into an eugenics experiment with the granddaughter of his grandfather's old rival and friend. On the orders of his father Fire Lord Azulon and the wishes of the Fire Sages. I believe that Ursa did alot of the child rearing when Zuko and Azula were toddler with Fire Nation Royal Servants helping her as well. However, Ozai was a active and positive influence as a father for his children in their early youth. Why would Zuko desperately want to return to the Fire Nation and his father if Ozai was just a cruel, harshless, bastard to him? Ozai, Ursa and the children used to enjoy the time at Ember Island with theater plays and playing on the beach at their family's summer house.
Tumblr media
Ozai's harshness and ruthlessness regarding Zuko have nothing to do with Ursa or Ikem's forbidden love! Ozai wants Zuko and Azula to both prove themselves. Ozai doesn't favor Zuko or Azula. It is about which child will succeed Sozin, Azulon, and his legacy as future Fire Lord. In fact, Ozai doesn't want Zuko or Azula to think that they are the “favorite” child. He wants Azula and Zuko to improve through competition. Because of the “only the greatest of pressures can forge diamonds” & “steel sharpen steel” mentality. Ozai has the mentality of an imperialist warlord. Ozai isn't trying to be the world's most loving and caring father but rather continue and build upon a powerful and dominant legacy that his forefathers had created before him. He wants Zuko & Azula to be cold, ruthless, heartless, vicious, and brutal imperialistic warmongers like him (Ozai), his father (Azulon), and his grandfather (Sozin). As far as Ozai and Azula is concerned, Zuko is a disgrace as Firstborn of the Firelord. Ozai had some hope in the past for Zuko which is why he didn’t Exile, Assassinate or Banished him during his childhood or during reign as Firelord until the Agni Kai duel. Ozai was originally shame of Zuko for possibly being a non bender. Fire Bending probably means everything to Fire Nation Royalty and Nobility, even Piandao [probably noble] parents abandon him for being a non bending because it would be a disgrace. Ozai was probably going to disown Zuko for being a “non-bender” that was born on a Winter Solstice and Premature. High Fire Nation society is all about power, dominance, intimidation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Fire Nation Elite Society, the Agni Kai between Ozai and Zuko was socially justifiable in the eyes of the of the elite noblity. The burning and banishment was cause by Zuko breaking sacred Fire Nation tradition in a War Meeting that he wasn't invited for!
HE IS A COMPLETE FAILURE OF A FIREBENDER AT 14 AND HAS NO MILITARY EXPERIENCE AS A GENERAL YET HE HAS THE GALL TO CALL OUT GENERAL LI PLANS FOR BEING TERRIBLE?
INSULTING AND CRITICIZING A HIGH RANKING WAR GENERAL WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE ACCORDING TO IROH!
REFUSING TO DUEL (ANIMATED ATLA) OR HOLDING BACK (NETFLIX ATLA) IN A SACRED AGNI KAI DUEL WHEN COMMANDED BY THE FIRE LORD AND HIS IS OWN FATHER!
Extremely hot take...Yeah, I know. Granted, Zuko was MORALLY RIGHT about the Fire Nation troops being sacrificed on the battlefield for victory, but SACRIFICES ARE COMMON IN FUEDAL ANCIENT WARFARE which the Fire Nation is based on! Tokugawa Shogunate Japan, Yuan Mongolian Empire, Tang Dynasty and etc. Which were Imperialist and Absolute Monarchies. Robb Stark and Napoleon did the same thing and are considered great generals!
Was the plan immoral? Yes, but the Fire Nation genocided the Water Tribes and the Earth Kingdom for decades. Morality is the LEAST of the Fire Nation concerns especially when you can sacrifice a platoon of inexperienced fodder to capture a massive town or city and flank the powerful EK army. Firelord Sozin also had no issue committing genocide against hundreds or thousands of Air nomads during the beginning of the war, the same can be said for his son Firelord Azulon genocide of the Southern Water Tribes and his raids on the Earth Kingdom and Seige of Ba Sing Se!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ozai's distaste and despisement of Zuko have NOTHING to do with Ursa and Ozai's arguments in ATLA Canon even in the Comics Ozai was simply saying that to hurt Ursa's feelings and gaslight her over bullshit letters. Ozai views Zuko as a disappointment of a son, firebender, and prince. His skills in Firebending are pathetic compared to his sister's and his morality from his mother and later uncle is out of line with Ozai and mainstream Fire Nation Elite Imperialists. If Zuko was a ruthless and cold-blooded killer like Azula and was at least just as good as his YOUNGER sister, then Ozai would NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM with Zuko as his son and heir! Zuko represents everything that Ozai was raised to hate and resent; compassion, morality, mercy, weakness, etc. Ozai hates his son for incompetence as a firebending warrior which is antithetical to Ozai as the strongest firebender in the series along with him being an Agni Kai champion along with the morality and softness that Ursa and later Iroh fostered in Zuko. The fact that Zuko doesn't conform to their society's warrior culture and morality bothers his father since Ozai was likely forced to conform since his own childhood under his father Azulon’s reign. Ozai probably resents that Zuko has his mother and uncle's affection whereas Ozai as a child probably didn't have his mother, Ilah's love to protect and care for him from Azulon's wrath due to her death in childbirth. Iroh got to experience his mother's love and presence along with his father's respect during his childhood, something that Ozai never had. Ozai resents his first-born Zuko and relates far more with his second-born daughter Azula who is neglected like him.

Sorry if this is completely wrong igore if it is LMAO but I noticed you seem to have different hcs for how mind lost his eye!!! Like in Seattles Going Under it was lost in a vague fight or something, but in art w/ the resonance cascade he lost it prolly during the ambush? I was wondering if you had info to share on it/infodump abt or if its just whatever makes the art more fun!
hehe youre observant and actually right on the money. yup!  so essentially i just have different eye trauma head canons for whichever version of freemind im drawing; since he doesnt actually lose his eye in canon, its up to everyone to fil in the blanks if they wanna use the popular headcanon. i wrote .  a good chunk of stuff .  so i put it under the cut . but heres a picture to be like a . tldr
Tumblr media
I sorta like his eye already being gone before the resonance cascade (in a non-freemanverse scenario). he does verbally say something like "my eyes" in the series, indicating he has two, BUT . well.  its a headcanon. so we can have fun with it . my eye loss pre-rescas freemind stems from my original freemind design (before i ever started posting half-life on the internet) where he had short hair, but i needed a way to distinguish him from og gordon, so I used thr popular one eye headcanon. then I realized him losing his eye bc of the military goes perfectly with martini losing an arm. that bothered me for a while until i realized i could just have multiple freemind designs + headcanons. if theres different variations of Gordon  and martini, why can't there be some of Freemind as well? grins grins
i left it open ended in my SGU because people have their own headcanons and I thought anyone could just fill in their own. if I did every make a canon eyeloss event prequel thing, he would've lost his eye during college in some sort of either freak accident (like tripping on something and injuring himself bad; I like this one because he'll lie and say he was in a fight) or, like u said, a fight . for SGU, college was a low point in his life of him struggling with freedom from his parents for the firsr time, but them and their ideals still holding him hostage. he is simultaneously more repressed and more emotionally volatile than present!gordon. then, when his parents die, hes just given a clusterfuck of emotions. so why dont we add physical trauma? whatever the sgu canon event eye loss was, it was definitely related to substance abuse issues. whether that be he was high/drunk and got into an accident, or fought someone... not sure! yet. the only thing that i can say was that no fire or chemicals were involved, since his tearduct is (unfortunately for him) wholly in tact!
but for freemanverse!freemind, he should lose his eye during the rescas since its like thematic and stuff if (almost) every Gordon Loses Something. also, angst. whenever I draw freemanverse (even in a domestic setting) in my head, i always think of them surviving the rescas together! i have. convoluted freemanverse headcanons. the eye loss is an important freemanverae event because, like martini, it gives him a valid reason to REALLY dislike benrey (but in my au, benrey isnt the big bad, so he "redeems" himself kinda sorta) . and then it ALSO opens up freemind to be upset and vulnerable, which allows him to bond with his fellow freemen.
...
also I want barmey to tend to his wounds and call his scar(s) badass. im not immune to buttermind and i never was.
honorable mention: sims freemind, who has both eyes physically but only can see from one. this is due to me unable to properly texture a glasses + eyepatch combo, that and i have no experience with 3d modelling (I did try!).
i hope this is a satisfying enough infodump!! I'm sorry if it's a bit vague; a lot of my ideas tend to be fluid. i also like taking inspiration from what other people think! some of you guys are way super smart and have awesome ideas. i am not immune to well articulated essays and thought out headcanons

I often see people describe Spider as a neglected child. Do you think that is totally accurate? Would Norm and the other scientists have set rules and boundaries? If Lo’ak and Spider did something stupid together would Jake punish both of them? What would a scene like this look like?
I don't think Spider was PHYSICALLY neglected, as in the adults always made sure he had food, water, medical care, and a safe place to sleep. But was Spider EMOTIONALLY neglected? Yes, I think so. The High Ground comics don't go into much detail about Spider's relationship with the people who raised him, the McCoskers, but what little we do see is nothing like the love and care Jake and Neytiri have for their children. I definitely don't think McCosker ever abused him, and I'm sure the other humans would've stepped in if he ever physically neglected him, but I one hundred percent believe the McCoskers emotionally neglected Spider. When Jake decided to move the Omaticaya and the allied humans to High Camp, Spider was packed and ready to go, and he didn't seem to care about never seeing his foster family again. Same with McCosker. McCosker was annoyed with him for trying to run away with Kiri, but he didn't really seem to care that Spider would prefer to live with the Na'vi and loyal humans over his foster family. If a kid is willing to leave behind the people who raised him for 14ish years without even saying goodbye, there is clearly something wrong with the relationship between the kid and the family. That emotional connection, knowing that there's an adult who loves you and would help you if you were in danger, just wasn't there for Spider like all the other child characters have.
(it seriously kills me that every time another child character was in danger, there was an adult rushing to rescue them concerned about their wellbeing, but when Spider was in danger, the only ones who did anything about it were A. the other child characters, which didn't end well :( and B. the war criminal who needed a 3-hour movie to realize he actually does care about his son)
As for the scientists, I'm sure they cared about Spider and made an effort to teach him things (I headcanon that Norm is the one who taught him to read and write and other basic human stuff while the Sully kids taught Spider the Na'vi stuff) but at the end of the day, they weren't his guardians and weren't responsible for raising him, teaching him rules, and disciplining him. That would fall to McCosker, and as far as I can tell with McCosker, it looks like he just gave up on raising Spider and lets him do whatever he wants as long as he comes home to sleep at night. We could speculate that maybe McCosker was a better parent when Spider was younger, but based off of how one of Spider's earliest appearances in the movie is him running around in the jungle with unkempt, matted hair and his only adult supervision there because he was with the Sully kids, we can guess that McCosker wasn't always that invested in raising Spider.
When it comes to discipline, I don't think Jake would feel like it's appropriate for him to discipline Spider and would prefer to leave it to McCosker. That's what he did in the comics when the boys were in trouble for exploring the battlefield. Jake makes it clear in both the comic and the movie that he does NOT view himself as a parental figure to Spider, and thus he's not responsible for disciplining him when he fucks up.
I'm very curious to see if Jake's relationship to Spider is different in A3. Since Spider went through literal torture to keep High Camp safe and ran back into a battlefield with zero hesitation to help Jake find Kiri and Tuk, I wonder if Jake will decide to properly look after Spider instead of just letting him hang out with his kids. I've seen some folks say Jake's "a son for a son" line is meant to symbolize Spider's adoption into the Sully family, but I don't think an adoption should happen until A. the Sullies know Spider saved Quaritch and they resolve that situation, and B. Spider and Neytiri resolve their issues.
Whatever ends up happening, I just want Spider to have the same love and protection that all the other child characters have. All children deserve to have a parent who loves and protects them, even if they have made some pretty big mistakes like saving Quaritch. If Jake can be forgiven for helping Q plan Hometree 9/11, Spider can absolutely be forgiven for only sparing his life when all his other actions opposed him.

Dating Ghost Headcanons
Gender Neutral Reader
These are all SFW since well... ew sex... but they are kinda sad
Tumblr media
A/N: I fucking hate him and his stupid little mask so much, I just want to rip him apart and blend him
Warnings: My English, a bit of description of gore(only like a sentence long), addiction, abuse, emotionally unavailable, unable to be emotionally vulnerable, angst, beans on toast, and British
MASTERLIST
First things first, you being in a relationship with Ghost is such a miracle, an achievement that most thought was impossible to even accomplish. So give yourself a little pat on the back.
Prior to being in a relationship you two were friends – more like acquaintances from his standpoint – for over 2 years. Throughout the friendship it only seemed like Ghost just viewed you as just someone he had to put up with and made zero indications that he even remotely liked you, so you definitely were the one that asked him out. It took about 4 tries, but you two eventually became a thing.
His nicknames for you are some variation of your name which he will constantly use, but there are VERY rare, like happens once every 2 years, moments where he calls you 'dear'.
If you're someone with a materialistic preference or like the holidays, get ready to change as this man genuinely doesn't do gift giving or celebrating different types of holidays. He views those days as just any other day and he hopes you treat them the same way as he does.
Simon is someone where it's hard for him to be emotionally available and vulnerable. Sure, he does show different emotions from time to time and has a sense of humor, yet it will be hard to show you any sort of love since his background so get ready to feel like this relationship is one-sided.
Going off the last headcanon a bit, Ghost would most likely be a quality time type of guy. Sitting with each other on the couch will be your guys' "dates", which is what you like to call it while he disagrees with it. He doesn't do dates.
Acts of Service is also how he shows his love for you with always trying to do simple chores for you like doing the dishes or doing the laundry. He always tries to do all of it for you so you don't have to be stressed out over it.
He is very eh on physical touch, you'd have initiate the hug or kisses all the time, yet, even then he still hesitates to do it back.
However, he is the type of guy that will kiss your head or forehead when your asleep and squeezes you to death. He is a tad bit touch starve, but just doesn't want to show it.
Go to meal for this man is beans on toast, straight out of can that are cold preferably. He will ask you to make it or atleast try it at some points. This man is British what did you expect? "It's an acquired taste." Is his only response when you ask him why he eats it.
He's not really your boyfriend, he's Queen Elizabeth's.
Genuinely is bad a driving so he often times tends to be a passenger princess. Often times he says he hates it when you put your hand on his thigh, but when you don't do it he is visibly upset by it.
When he does feel more okay to be more open with you and his past, he will talk about little bits and pieces about his nephew such as how little things would remind him of the young boy. There will be a time where he will be watching you and then speak up about how his nephew would've loved you.
Would never EVER harm you in any way, he grew up in an abusive household where he watches his mother get beat by his own father. He wants to be better man this his father, plus, wants to have a better life and you're the only thing close to his view of a better life.
You had suggested getting a cat but he opposed to the idea, yet, when you did get the cat he is taking care of it like if it was a baby.
Snores loud as hell, so get use to it. This once actually caused a bit of a joking argument between the two of you with how you were begging him to go seek out some help, but he argued that he sleeps like an angle. He never sought out any sort of help to your dismayed.
Simon constantly refuses to take pain medication. You honestly thought it was for some edgy reason like he doesn't feel pain, but he would admit to at one point being addicted to them. You were quick to apologize to him about poking fun at it when you didn't know, of course he forgave your 20 different apologies throughout the day. Now you try to support him and how he has gotten over such a tough thing.
Is an okay chef. He knows how to make simple things like grilled cheese, but he doesn't go out of his way to make anything complex than that; however, he would definitely be a master at grilling too the point he can make any dad jealous.
Always comes home with new scars and a little bag full of the bullets that was shot at him, he tells you how he got all if them and goes into heavy detail on how he had to take them out himself. He always loves to see you gross out about he describes digging a knife into his forearm to cut out a big enough hole to get the bullet out.
Always tries to reassure you that he won't die when he's out on the field, he says that it takes a lot to kill him but you're always hesitant on believing him.
Loves to listen to metal and rock with you. He has old dad music taste and to see that you enjoy it aswell make him melt a bit, so expect that some of your quality time spent together listening to it in the car or while you two are making food/doing chores.

thanks to my rewatch of Loki I’ve just been reminded how much I’m annoyed by (mostly) fellow Lokius shippers that insist Sylvie is problematic, abusive, toxic, rude to Loki and that she only used Loki for her own gain.
(And that’s coming from a person who also enjoys Lokius and I’m tired of fellow shippers pretending it’s not misogyny when it actually clearly is)
Are we really in any position to claim any of that when Mobius did the exact same if not even worse things to Loki?
Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, Loki was indeed used by him. The sole reason why Loki is alive, the sole reason why Mobius recruited Loki was for his own benefit. He needed to apprehend the variant that posed a threat to the stability of the multiverse and was eliminating their forces. Coming across Loki was a happy accident and in it, he saw the opportunity to finally capture that variant. Sure, he might have been fascinated by Loki’s nature and perhaps even harbored hopes that this partnership might work out for him even better than anticipated, but the main and primary reason why he even recruited him was to use him.
In fact, he explicitly stated in subsequent episodes that if Loki refused to cooperate, he wouldn't hesitate to prune him. He warned Loki that his survival hinged upon his willingness to comply.
He can be ruthless and manipulative to get what he wants and will not hesitate to take any means necessary to reach his goal. Mobius was not reluctant to strike at Loki's most vulnerable areas.
He’s smart enough to identify Loki’s weaknesses, and one of them is his affection for his mother. When he told him Loki killed his mother, while not entirely incorrect since Frigga’s death was an unintentional consequence of Loki’s actions, he aimed to shatter Loki emotionally and provoke a reaction. It's a classic tactic of emotional manipulation designed to coerce Loki into compliance.
He used a similar strategy in episode 4 where he deceived Loki, manipulated him into thinking that Sylvie, someone Mobius suspected Loki had grown close to, had been killed.  Then, he proceeded to taunt Loki, who was visibly distressed by his lies, all in an effort to provoke a response from him.
The finale made it evident that Mobius lacks physical combat skills, rendering him incapable of directly engaging in fights. Therefore, to gain an advantage over Loki, Mobius relies on identifying his vulnerabilities and exploiting them.
He can use the TimeTwister for when Loki misbehaves and controls him like a dog, or, he can throw him in a memory loop cell, subjecting him to both verbal and physical abuse for an indeterminate period, so basically someone else does that job for him.
That action in particular is something I noticed a lot of you tend to ignore. At this point, Mobius and Loki had already formed a camaraderie. It might not have been a full-fledged friendship just yet, but they were clearly on their way to becoming friends. Mobius was hurt that Loki decided to stab him in the back and destroy his trust in him by doing the exact thing he shouldn’t - running off with the Variant, even if that was for a good cause.
For Loki, Mobius risked a great deal: his own job, the friendship and trust of Ravonna, the trust placed in him and even Ravonna by the Time Keepers, and possibly even his own life. He had enough faith in Loki to believe that Loki wouldn't betray him and run off at the first opportunity.  And Loki betrayed that trust when he went after the mysterious Variant.
When Loki and Sylvie were captured by the TVA, it wasn’t jealousy that Loki had feelings for Sylvie that drove him (even though we like to headcanon that, we have to keep in mind Loki and Mobius’ relationship wasn’t written as romantic). Instead, it was his anger and resentment that stemmed from placing so much trust in Loki, only to have him do the very thing Mobius had believed he wouldn't.
Then, despite the fact that there was already some camaraderie between them, and despite the fact that Loki genuinely meant well, Mobius in his anger, completely dismissed the possibility of Loki being honest with him. He outright declared that he no longer needed Loki and, to make matters worse, he threw him into the Time Loop cell where he knew Loki would endure repeated instances of physical assault.
I know that some of you like to argue, “oh, well at least he didn’t choose a worse memory! He clearly cares about him then!” but honestly, that’s just very questionable and just....uh?
The reason Mobius selected that memory was because he knew Lady Sif would inflict repeated physical pain upon Loki and because of what Lady Sif says to him during that loop. She hurls insults at him, calling him a "conniving, craven, pathetic worm" and that he deserves to be alone for the rest of eternity.
Mobius made the conscious decision to throw Loki into the Time Loop cell, despite the budding friendship between them, despite the budding trust, despite everything that happened and was perfectly fine with that.
It wasn't because Mobius was manipulated by the TVA or forced to do this; he did it of his own accord. He chose to punish Loki and because he wanted to use him, break him to extract info out of him. Because he refused to believe Loki’s words.
I’m shocked that so many of you overlook that and pretend it didn’t happen, because as much as I love Mobius and their dynamic, what Mobius did in that particular episode alone was more severe than anything Sylvie did to Loki throughout the entire season.
In the span of a few minutes, Mobius:
insulted Loki, called him an asshole, bad friend and compared him to a cockroach
mocked his feelings to provoke him
lied to him that someone Loki cared about had been killed, manipulating his emotions for a reaction
despite Loki’s genuine intentions, he refused to listen to him
he bluntly stated that Loki was no longer of any use to him
he threw Loki into a place where he would endure physical, verbal, and emotional abuse, intentionally subjecting him to suffering
through his actions, Mobius reinforced the idea that Loki deserves to be alone, (just as Loki was in the process of forming actual, meaningful relationships with at least two people; Mobius and Sylvie, Mobius goes and punishes Loki by reminding him he deserves to be alone)
and despite all of that, he still expected Loki to provide him with information, meaning he did all of that because he still intended to use him for his own benefit
Eventually, Mobius did go on a bit of a personal investigation and discovered that Loki had been telling the truth. However, by the time he discovered the truth, the damage had already been done, and Loki had already been hurt.
In short, he made a conscious decision to hurt Loki in every way imaginable to get what he wanted.
The series showed that Mobius was aware that there was a possibility that Loki might be telling the truth. However, his anger, stubbornness and unwavering certainty in his own righteousness blinded him from considering the possibility that Loki could be right.
Again, I like Mobius very much and I like Lokius as well, but jesus christ guys, some of you need to take a step back from solely blaming Sylvie as the worst person ever when Mobius did the exact same things. If not even worse, because unlike Mobius, Sylvie at least never manipulated Loki into thinking his feelings were invalid, never claimed that his mother had died because of him, never tricked him into believing that someone he cared about had been murdered.
Sylvie never subjected Loki to a memory loop filled with continuous verbal insults reminding him that he is oh, just the worst and that he deserves the life of loneliness for the rest of eternity, all the while he also suffered physical pain.
You’re free to have personal preferences and to dislike a ship or a character, but for the love of Lord stop claiming Sylvie is abusive and toxic and what not, when our own ship is just as flawed if not even more flawed.
Sylvie did this, she did that, but where’s that same vitriol for Mobius? Why are you only coming after the woman? They both did bad shit that hurt Loki, but some of you only see Sylvie’s actions and pretend Mobius was nothing but supportive of Loki the entire time, which is wrong and disgusting. No, Mobius and Lokius is not better than Sylvie and Sylki and it’s time for some of you to accept that.
I like Mobius and I like Lokius but I’m tired of being called a misogynist because of some of you who cannot accept the fact that Mobius has committed and inflicted just as many (if not more) morally questionable things as Sylvie.
And the worst thing is that those who call this misogyny are actually right.
Mobius is a good, compelling character and will likely prove to be a good friend to Loki in Season 2, but he’s not innocent either. He can be manipulative. He can be horrible. He can be brutal to get what he wants. Yes, even to Loki.
Even Loki acknowledged that, so why can’t you?

Art:
Tumblr media
I got a rabbit as my animal, which honestly fits- lots of cool symbolism there. Something, something, snares and escaping and prey animal vs predators, etc. I honestly think this man is motivated more by fear than he lets on. Fic: A Temporary Alliance (A negotiation leads to an effective, if begrudging partnership between Cypher, three girls… and a pilot in deep over his head.) Headcanons:
Extremely paranoid ever since he began working in the villain industry, and this only became exacerbated after Xiu Mei’s death. Also misanthropic and believed most people are more bad than good, though he recognized a few exceptions like his family.
Instead of a plain oval of glass, his mask was a modified helmet resembling a motorcyclist’s. Alongside gloves, it allowed him to cover every inch of skin to prevent anyone getting hair or fingerprints for DNA testing.
Had long hair ever since he entered G.L.O.V.E., as he became paranoid that someone would assassinate him while cutting it. As Wu Zhang, he cut it himself and kept it up in a high ponytail (when down, it was a little past his shoulders). After losing Xiu Mei, he didn’t keep up with caring for it as often and let it grow a few inches longer, tucking it into his helmet as Cypher and tying it up otherwise.
Wore his mask anytime he was around others during his Cypher era, including his own henchmen. If he ever needed to sleep– such as on long flights– he would sleep with it on and hold a gun the whole time.
Based his Cypher look on some of the Power Rangers-esque shows Wing would watch as a child; he would watch them with him sometimes as a form of easy bonding time.
Adored Darkdoom’s exploits and would tell Wing bedtime stories about him; took inspiration for the Kraken from Darkdoom’s vehicles.
Despised Xiu Mei at first after the Overlord incident, but acknowledged they were stuck together. Their escape from China was full of violence, running from enemies, assassination attempts, and the usual actiony antics. This is when they first learned to appreciate each other as they both saved each other a few times.
As a husband, Mao was less physically affectionate. He showed love through gift giving, usually by making Xiu Mei small robots or trinkets or buying her nice things. He was very aloof as a person in general, so she valued being one of the few people he would willingly be close to. They enjoyed having movie or tv nights at home more than any other kind of date, which they’d usually end with a cuddle on the couch.
As a father, he was distant, but hardworking and comparatively loving. He knew from his teen years that he wasn’t cut out for family life, but did his best once avoiding it was no longer an option. He preferred to do the “maintenance work” of the family (house work, handling paperwork, planning stuff, etc) behind the scenes while his wife handled the face-to-face parenting. After Xiu Mei’s death, he was emotionally negligent and occasionally verbally abusive whenever he and Wing would argue, but never lashed out physically. He feared how angry he could be as he grieved and would separate himself early to avoid outbursts, but the absences only made things worse.
After Xiu Mei’s death and a small depressive period, vengeance became his primary goal and he began training himself in combat. This is where some of his absences in Wing’s life came from and where Wing’s early fitness started, as he tried a few times to work out with his father to bond with him. Considering that Wu was always very upset when doing so, it never worked out. Cypher was roughly at Nero’s level in combat by the end and had some training with most weapons; he’s not a boxer and wouldn’t do well in a fist fight, but if he was armed or given the chance to strategize, he could be very dangerous.
Did not build his criminal empire from the ground up– he instead infiltrated and worked under another villain for a year or two before assassinating him and stealing his holdings, using a few robots he’d made to bolster his defenses until he was powerful enough to use his reputation.
Genuinely believed Nero stole Wing for hostage purposes, as he received a letter that appeared to be written by him threatening Wing after his disappearance. In reality, this letter was crafted and sent by Overlord to encourage Nero and Cypher to go to war.
Needed glasses or contacts; his vision wasn’t horrible and he could function without them, but he was prone to bad migraines without them. As Wu Zhang, he preferred contacts, but switched to glasses as Mao Fanchu. During his time at H.I.V.E., he would become very uncooperative if not provided with glasses and an occasional exam. Also had high blood pressure and other chronic stress issues, but knew how to manage them.
After the fall, he had to do daily physical therapy. Nero ensured he had equipment to do so (which was stored under his bed), but he struggled with chronic pain for the rest of his life. Also occasionally had chronic pain from Overlord’s blast, but this was less frequent. One of the closest relationships to amicable he had as Cypher did come from this though, as he developed an acquaintanceship with Dr. Scott.
After Overlord, he was a brontophobe (feared lightning in particular) and had a strong distaste for the color red despite using it as one of his cardinal colors. Also feared A.I.s and almost threw up at the sight of H.I.V.E.mind in Rogue.
Resented most supervillains’ “they’re disposable” attitude towards their technicians or low-ranking staff, especially as Cypher. He also preferred to avoid killing enemies’ staff, but did so to fit in and get closer to Number One, seeing it as genuinely necessary in his mission to save the world.
And finally, Prompts! (AKA my rejected fic ideas for this...) - Darkdoom the pirate finding siren Wu after the latter got in a scuffle with the infamous Captain Nero. - A student finds Cypher's cell and talks to him through the door. - In an AU where he survives, Cypher playing Battleship with Laura. - Wu Zhang and Xiu Mei fleeing from G.L.O.V.E. after the Incident. - Cypher arguing with Nero in his cell about bringing Overlord online too early.
Anyways, hope y'all had fun! Can't wait to see what you've all created!

Hello tumblr :3 I have some thoughts for both the Sailor Moon / TBHK-JSHK fandoms and the OSDDID community.
For clarification I am a host of a dx’d DID system. Traumagenic.
tw for like… idk ranting, abuse mentions, and things along those lines!
I have felt since system discovery that the take of “this character trope, this character in media is not accurate representation therefore this is bad and you supporting it is bad and you are bad” is kind of … stupid?
For one, everyone experiences dissociation or plurality differently. Saying people cannot enjoy Touko Fukawa & Syo as a system because it’s bad rep is weird. Saying people cannot headcanon Izuru and Hajime as a system is also weird. Personally, it’s none of your business what people find comfort in especially if they are a system or plural.
Anyways, I’m starting off with this because I think people forget that you do not have to literally interpret things like possession, mind control, or illness in media as those things. I think you can see those things as symbolism for being a system if you want.
Case 1: Hotaru Tomoe (& Sailor Saturn with Mistress 9)
Tumblr media
In Sailor Moon- no matter which adaptation you consume Hotaru Tomoe is clearly shown to be separate from Saturn and Mistress/Messiah all while residing in the same body. In order to access herself as Saturn she has to literally meet her and be reawakened. This is a really similar experience to my system discovery and I think other systems might see it too! Mistress 9 is one of the stereotypes that people would disagree with since in canon she is a demon possessing Hotaru- but even that I feel like could be interpreted differently.
Saturn is protective of Hotaru and her friends. Hotaru is sweet, and kind. She is there most of the time. And mistress 9 could be interpreted as a persecutor. I’ve always seen Hotaru in this light.
And for anyone that wants to go by the DSM: Hotaru has severe childhood trauma. She lost her mother in a fire/explosion that she was apart of. Her and her father were possessed by demons- her father was straight up neglectful and abusive medically. And his “partner” Kaori was abusive towards Hotaru.
Case 2: Aoi Akane (and her “fake” personality.)
Tumblr media
This one is less implied, more of a headcanon but- Aoi has outright said she puts up a front for people around her. The Aoi people know vs. The Aoi that she is are completely different. On top of this, when Hakubo (No.6) gives her that potion she acts completely different than either side of that spectrum.
And again for DSM truthers: I’m not sure how much of this is canon to the main timeline but Aoi has a neglectful and shitty dad in general. It’s never out right stated that she’s been abused but I would think she is. On top of that, she’s extremely popular and has to live up to the standards that people put for her… which she can’t ever reach because they’ll always get higher and higher.
Case 3: Mei Shijima (and Shijima San of The Art Room)
Tumblr media
This one has always grinded my gears tbh.
Mei and Shijima are shown to be two separate people from the start. Shijima being Mei’s own creation to cope with what is most likely cancer / terminal illness and the fact that despite her passion she is going to die soon.
But people get upset or confused when it’s posted that they are separate characters? And get even more upset about shipping them together. Like, I don’t know how to tell singlets this but inner system dating is not unusual. They also hardly look the same which seems to be most peoples problems. They don’t have the same hair color or eye color and also just all around are physically and emotionally different.
Shijima is extremely protective over Mei and became very very upset when people made rumors spinning Mei’s illness related death into Mei hurting herself over her parents.
I think they’re a beautiful representation of plurality. Mei forgives Shijima for persecuting her, because she knew Shijima was just trying to keep what Mei actually stood by while she was alive there.
Tumblr media
Anyways I’m sorry this became a super long info dump. TL;DR let systems or any plural person have their headcanons. They are not hurting anyone. And also keep an open mind to things in media! Hotaru’s character is very special to me but I often don’t talk about her being a system to others because the sailor moon fandom is very very tricky. Especially the millennial side of it.

How does it feel to have inspired such a huge trend in dimension 20 fandom? Do you have any more headcannons for your modern AU?
In reference to this post:
Firstly, I do want to shoutout all the people who have made AUs based around the concept. All of them are so good and I can't believe that they exist because of my post. Obviously at this point everyone writing for this AU has their own ideas and versions of events, but here's the extended version of my version of the AU

LMK If I missed any!
Various headcanons and plot beneath the cut
So starting with backstories:
Gerard was born into a wealthy family, and at a young age was kidnapped
Luckily he escaped, as he had always been a slippery little kid.
Unluckily, by that point his family had already had him publicly declared as dead, so no one believed him when he claimed to be Gerard Greenleigh
He lived on the streets for a while, and befriended Elody, and the two fell in love
It was only when he'd already grown into an adult that Gerard was able to prove his identity and gain access to the family fortune.
From there, familiar territory. He acted vain, petty, immature, etc., he and Elody separated, which brings us to when he adopted two kids
Ylfa is autistic, and she has particularly bad meltdowns and anger management issues. Her mother didn't handle her well and would frequently send her away to stay with Ylfa's grandmother
Eventually, she decided to just leave Ylfa there permanently
What she didn't know is that only a few days into this new arrangement, the grandmother would die of natural causes. Ylfa. Did not handle this well
She froze in place, not wanting to move forward. If she just didn't move, then she wouldn't have to deal with what came next. If she just stayed still, then there's a chance everything could go back to normal
Fortunately, Mr. Wolf the child welfare caseworker had already been looking for her as one of the mother's neighbors noticed the missing child
Unfortunately, it was still two days of her standing there, frozen and terrified, before he found her
The first thing Mr. Wolf did was take her to get some fast food, that she devoured ravenously
(She would throw up most of that food in the backseat of his car a few minutes later)
She ended up in the foster care system after that, as her mother was deemed unfit to parent her
(IDK how child welfare stuff actually works so I'm just taking my best guesses here. Apologies if I get anything wrong)
Pinocchio has chronic pain, and some days he can get by with a cane but other times he needs a wheelchair
His father was a loving, if demanding parent who, along with his kindergarten teacher, were very strict about morals and particularly lying
Eventually, a strange woman approaches him as he's about to walk home and she starts asking him increasingly personal questions about who his parent is, where he lives, how he gets home, etc.
Pinocchio cottons on that she's acting weird and lies, saying his dad will pick him up soon
Teacher Turquina hears this, and goes to give Pinocchio an earful about lying, telling the woman the truth
Geppetto goes missing soon after
Pinocchio is taken care of by his stepmother (his actual stepmother, in this AU), but eventually the way she's been emotionally and sometimes physically abusing him is noticed and he is put into the system
(The stepmother was particularly fond of locking Pinocchio in a closet for hours at a time. He still remembers the way it looked when she would open the door, the only light coming from behind her)
He has complicated feelings about his stuffed animals Spinocchio and Pinocchicrow, given the stepmother is the one who gave them to him. Eventually Pib mauls Pinocchicrow, and given how relieved Pinocchio seems, Gerard quietly moves Spinocchio into storage
Rosamund's backstory probably gets the most major overhaul
Rosamund was 16 and in love when she and her boyfriend (if you want to be particularly on the nose he could have the last name of briar or thorn or something) got into a bad car crash
She woke up from a coma 2 years later
Her boyfriend, who had been released from the hospital just a couple months after the accident, had already moved on, hence her current distaste for romance
Her parents tried to keep her inside all the time, obsessively overprotective after the accident, and she couldn't stand it
She eventually ran away, and given that Cousin Gerard has been one of the few tolerable people to be around (He had been kind and funny when she was growing up; after the accident he was empathetic in a way no one else was. It wasn't exactly the same, but he knew what it was like feeling like you've lost years of your life) and eventually she made her way to an address he'd written down for her saying if she ever needed to talk, she has an open invite
Her parents don't look for her under the belief that eventually she'll realize they were right all along and come home
(that isn't what happens)
Gerard was initially going to just take in Pinocchio, as he felt like since they'd shared experiences with kidnapping he could be helpful, and he could help Pinocchio deal with any issues the way he had
(He has not actually dealt with those issues)
Then he met Ylfa totally by accident, not at all arranged by Mr. Wolf in the hope that maybe this man would finally provide a home for two kids who so many felt were too high-maintenance to foster or adopt
So he ended up with two kids
Pib is a cat
He was originally a stray, taken in by Tomas, put in a shelter when Tomas died and then adopted by Timothy
Timothy has his husband, his menace of a son Jack, and inexplicable beef with a gander from the local park. He wants it dead, and the feeling is mutual
From here it's just general headcanons and little scenes
The non-Elody princesses are Rosamund's friends from an etiquette class that all of their terrible parents made them attend. None of them go to the class anymore but they still hang out
They are...maybe not the best influences. They regularly commit petty acts of vandalism and were maybe responsible for that time the school's library almost burned down
At some point one of Rosamund's friends/classmates says that Gerard is kind of hot in a pathetic way, and her first thought it "gross, that's my dad." She then has a minor crisis over when her goofy cousin became her dad
Gerard still exercises, but since it's his first time not working with a personal trainer he cannot figure out why he's getting stronger but not more "muscular." (not defined) Lifting more weight should be better, right?
This does mean he is strong enough to carry all three of his kids at the same time (because yes, Rosamund is his kid, even if not legally), and has carried them all to bed at once without waking them up before
Ylfa goes over the shoulders, as her grip is strong even asleep. Pinocchio is fully baby cradled in one arm, and Rosamund is carried in the other, her face tucked into this shoulder. Pib got Ylfa's back at some point without Gerard noticing, so actually it's three kids and a cat
Pib knows exactly one trick that he'll do on command, and that trick is "attack," where he runs up and smacks whoever without unsheathing his claws
For unknown reasons, he only does this trick for Gerard. Timothy is definitely not jealous
At one point Mr. Wolf was trying to talk to Pinocchio about setting goals and future careers, and Pinocchio panicked and said stand-up comedian
When Mr. Wolf tried to prompt him to set goals, he said he could come up with a good joke in a year. Mr. Wolf tried to hint that maybe that's a little too long. Pinocchio misunderstood and made it a year and a day
Pinocchio: I think that if I don't tell a good joke in a year and a day he's going to kill me
Ylfa, whose life was saved by Mr. Wolf and has known him for much longer: (100% earnestly) yeah, maybe.
Gerard tries to take the gang fishing. It goes badly. Gerard punches a fish
Ylfa has a dorky middle schooler crush on all of Rosamund's friends, especially Snow White. They think its cute and harmless enough not to discourage, much to Rosamund's chagrin
The princesses are also consistently accidentally mean to Gerard (a la "she's married?") They actually think he's a pretty good guy and by far the best parent any of them have, so they feel bad whenever it happens
Gerard does have minor Gilear energy in this au. Sorry bud.
Gerard and Elody's reuniting
For Elody and Gerard reuniting, IDK what leads to it but eventually Elody agrees to one date after starting to realize how much Gerard's changed
Gerard is very excited and spends nearly the entire day preparing for their dinner date
Unfortunately, the power goes out about midway through the day. At first it's kind of fun and everything's fine, date still set to happen
Then it gets dark and suddenly things aren't so fine anymore
Ylfa remembers the nights she stood, starving, staring at the body of her grandmother, trying desperately to pretend that nothing's changed, even as she becomes too dehydrated to cry
Pinocchio remembers that darkness of the closet, the silhouette of his stepmother, the way he could only ever catch glimpses of her sneering face as the door closed once again
Rosamund remembers the weeks of consciousness before she was able to even open her eyes, trapped in darkness by her own uncooperative body, aware yet unable to do anything, to save herself
Gerard might've asked Timothy to help out, but he'd left earlier that day to go on a camping trip with Henry and Jack, so it's up to Gerard to help his kids
So he does the one thing he's ever been good at. He tells them stories.
Some of them are old stories he's known since childhood, but some of them are new
He tells them stories of a brave little girl who was strong enough to survive despite everything, and a clever little boy who knows that sometimes you need to break the rules, and a bold princess who was able to free herself from the prison others had made for her
He does not tell them the story of a cowardly prince, too unlovable to be wanted by his parents or his wife, who has no one to blame for how things turned out but himself
Instead, his kids tell him a story
They tell him the story of a funny, smart, kind king who was beloved by all his subjects. Who never, ever got mad, and was super strong, and would accept any who would seek refuge in his kingdom. The three (four, counting Pib, who Timothy asked them to watch while they were gone) immediately decide it's their favorite
"How can that be your favorite story? That's barely a story at all, it just a list of character traits."
"Too bad, it's our favorite now, so we're gonna tell it every night."
They pass the night with stories and candles until eventually all his kids are happily asleep, and Gerard crashes onto his couch.
He, unfortunately, could not text Elody about this change of plans as his phone died before he could (his phone hasn't been fully charged since he got kids)
Elody shows up the next morning to be like "Why'd you ditch me and also are you still alive because I can't think of anything short of death that would've kept you from showing up"
She is greeted by a very tired Gerard in his pajamas, who asks if she wants to come inside for breakfast
Elody is very confused to be sitting around a table with three kids and a cat while her husband cooks breakfast (when did he learn how to cook?)
The neighbor pops in to say hi and ends up staying for breakfast as well, and Elody is quickly realizing just how much of a life Gerard has made since they separated
It's not a great breakfast. The eggs are kind of rubbery and the bacon is burnt on the edges, but it's far better than she ever imagined Gerard capable of
She...kind of wants to learn what else has changed about Gerard
She also wants to know when, where, and why he acquired these kids
Anyway, that's all I got. Maybe I'll make a continuation if I have any other ideas

(MK1) Johnny's Life Headcanons
Tumblr media
I love this version of Johnny. He has the perfect mixture of arrogance and wittiness while still being kind and serious at the most important times. I did a song headcanon post for him a while back and had a fun time doing it so I wanted to do another headcanon post for him and other MK characters. If you want to read my other post the link is below.
https://www.tumblr.com/criminalmutantsins/731871981377617920/mk1-johnny-cage-song-headcanons?source=share
.......................
TW: Mentions of abuse (physical/mental), alcoholism, bullying
- Johnny is the middle child with Jimmy being the oldest and Rebecca being the youngest. Jimmy and Johnny don’t get along because Jimmy follows in his dad’s footsteps and makes fun of Johnny for not being masculine enough. He has a really good relationship with Rebecca- affectionately calling her Becky- but their eight-year age difference made it hard for them to connect. Though he is glad she didn’t suffer the same abuse as him, Johnny is also a bit jealous of her because his dad would spoil and treat her like a princess. They call and FaceTime each other once in a while to catch up.
- Johnny’s mom was the one who fostered Johnny’s love for 80s media. Whenever she had a rare day off, Johnny and her would dance and goof around while listening to 80s. His favorite artists were ABBA, Bee Gees, and Queen.
- Johnny’s dad physically and emotionally abused Johnny. His obsession with control and masculinity led him to hurt or insult Johnny if he deemed him “not man enough” or somehow disrespectful. For instance, if he saw Johnny liking something seen as feminine like “chick flicks” he would berate him or if Johnny forgot to do a chore then his dad would beat him. His mother was not aware of the abuse due to working a lot, Johnny’s fear of retribution from his father if he told, and the abuse only occurring when she was not around.
- School was not easy for Johnny. He was targeted for being the quiet kid and not being interested in typical sports (football, soccer, baseball), and being a part of the cheer squad. It ended after Johnny created his Cage persona, portraying himself as confident and witty, and his martial arts skills.
- Johnny watched a lot of 90s sitcoms like “Full House”, “Roseanne”, “Boy Meets World”, and “Saved By The Bell” to cope with his broken family- his mother working almost 24/7, his father’s abuse, and lack of a relationship with his siblings- and bullying at school. He liked (and was jealous) that every problem was solved within 22 minutes and the main character had friends/family who were always there for them.
- He also watched many martial arts such as “Enter the Dragon,” “Crouching Tiger,” “Hidden Dragon,” “Kill Bill,” and “Karate Kid.” He liked to imagine himself being the hero who defeated all the bad guys and saved the world. On top of that, watching the films with his dad was the only good time Johnny had with him.
- Before his mother paid for karate classes, Johnny’s dad tried teaching him boxing at home. It was a horrible time since his dad would get angry with Johnny if he “did something wrong” like messing up a move or not wanting to hit his dad. As punishment, Johnny’s dad would punch Johnny until either he got tired or Johnny attacked back. This stopped when his mom saw his bruises- thinking it was only from school bullies- and signed him up for karate class, which Johnny grew to love and practice all his life. She also paid for gymnastics class after seeing Johnny’s interest in it.
- During his first two years in college, Johnny joined a theater group where he created many meaningful relationships, such as Kelsey, his scene partner for some plays who became a successful actress and singer on Broadway, and Frankie, who was in charge of cosmetics and became Johnny’s first personal make-up artist. After college, the troupe meets every year to catch up.
- Johnny is pansexual. He finds anyone attractive no matter their gender. He realized this in high school, though he didn’t feel comfortable coming out until he moved out for college.
- He met Cris when she was serving them at a restaurant the theatre trope frequented. It was an instant attraction and Johnny gave her his number along with the receipt. He was surprised to see her attending the college too (she was a business major). They dated for two years and got married the year he got his first lead role.
- Being very lucky, Johnny got his big break after two years of working minor roles. At twenty-two, he was a major character- comedic but badass sidekick to the main character- in an action, thriller movie because the directors were impressed by his martial arts and quick wit. The film’s major success and good reception to his character led to his first film as the lead.
- Johnny treats every staff member involved in his movies very well. He always thanks the make-up artists, costume designers, and prop designers for their towards him and his scenes. Interns love him because he treats them like humans- asks about their day and thanks them for their work- instead of errand boys. After filming, he always brings them a box of donuts as a celebration. Even the scriptwriter and stunt coordinator like him since, rather than rudely demanding changes, Johnny works to collaborate with them to make his scenes (and sometimes the movie) better. The only people who disliked Johnny were the directors and it was out of bitterness that most of Johnny’s ideas were better than the original premise.
- After five years of successful movies and a large, loyal fanbase, Johnny’s career started dwindling fast because the action/martial arts genre stopped trending at the box office and directors believed Johnny was incapable of portraying roles other than witty, comedic action characters. Though, he wanted to try more serious roles and genres other than action and martial arts movies but was scared his fans wouldn’t like it and abandon him.
- This significant drop in his career caused Johnny’s depression to worsen and used alcohol to escape the stress and pain. His wish to rejuvenate his career became an obsession where he would rarely sleep, only focus on work, and neglect his relationship, especially his marriage. These issues and his unwillingness to recognize how damaging they are were the last straw for Cris.

Ok I already like how you handle all this and I trust your writing skills ♡ Could I request Husk × Reader (they/them if you can) who were emotionally and physically abused when they were alive, and now have a hard time creating connections with other people because they are afraid of being treated badly again? I seriously need Husk fluff, treating the reader gently and showing that he really does love them (sorry I wasn't specific enough but I want something like what you did with the Vox request)
okay I'll do a similar thing like with the Vox request and write them out more like headcanons and imagines rather than a full on fic
TW: brief mentions of abuse
- Husk is so soft with you after he understands the kinds of things you've been through, not like super mushy and romantic cus he isn't really that type of guy but it is definitely a change to how he's usually pretty sarcastic and blunt
- He's so so patient, and will always wait for you to be okay and comfortable with something before he does it (like for example holding your hand, rather than take your hand, he'd just hold his hand out and wait until you feel ready to take it)
- Not something he usually does, but he makes the exception for you, he'd let you touch his wings or play with his fur if you needed to for comfort, and after a while of becoming closer, would occasionally wrap his wings around you to comfort you, for you to feel protected and safe, kinda like his way of hugging.
- He's more the type to provide nonverbal comfort by simply listening when you need to get feelings off your chest, or always making sure he knows your boundaries and being respectful of them, but now and then you will get some affectionate words of reassurance from him, if you were feeling particularly upset
- "Hey, you're alright. I've gotcha. That prick ain't gonna hurt you anymore."
- Husk would gladly sit and listen to you for as long as you needed. If it helps you feel better, it's fine with him. He's usually annoyed when anyone at all talks to him, but if it's you? He feels happy to know that just talking to him and telling him how you feel helps you feel better.
- He totally understands how it is to be cautious of people, especially in Hell. Never presses for anything, and will always let you do things at your own pace and work your way up to trusting him, and he'll support you no matter what.
- Maybe would accidentally let a little insult slip off his tongue whenever you mention your abuser from when you were alive.
"Fuckin' asshole." he would murmur when you describe an experience you had with them.
I hope this is okay!! Thank you for the request!!

Headcanon that sun wukong had anger issues from the start.
he never actually hurt people because of them, but he always got angry way too easily and when he could, or was alone, he always did end up breaking something. But most times it was just him screaming at someone or staying silent but was very, very clear he was not in a good mood.
the only people he would actually scream at were other demons, he would never dare to hurt his monkeys physically or mentally or emotionally.
The monkeys sees him as this perfect little angel and he doesn't wanna break that little belief for them, so he'll keep being the little shy guy.
over time it just got worse, during jttw it was a serious problem because it ended with people actually getting hurt, and wukong didn't even regret it because they "deserved it", him getting angry was like if you just committed the biggest sin and now you had to pay for it. No wonder everyone were afraid of wukong!
The monkeys kept lovin' their king though, he was still the little saint for them, they didn't know what he did and even if they did, most if not all monkeys would excuse it.
Heaven started, not wukong.
The demons looked for it, wukong just answered.
y'know?
This mindset was also on Macaque.
Macaque also thought that wukong was the little saint that could do no wrong, and if he did do wrong he always had a reason behind and it was someone else fault. It wasn't the great mindset for the monkeys and wukong knows that, but they can't help it, they all grow up to know this wonderful king! How could he ever be bad?
but this mindset is also what brought macaque to his downfall.
Because of this idea of sun wukong, he refused to accept that his friend became bad, that his friend was in this journey to change and be better, he refused to listen even to wukong himself, he was the first one trying to explain it to Macaque.
Macaque didn't thought wukong had to change, he didn't had to change because he was perfect like that, that monk just made wukong into something unrecognizable and macaque couldn't stand it. (And also, the abuse.)
And it lead to many mistakes, which obviously provoked the king, and that lead to Macaque's death.
Macaque still does in fact think that wukong didn't need to change, he was "better" before, his king became such a pitiful, weak pacifist and macaque can't stand it because it's not "sun wukong" or "monkey king" in his eyes.
While the monkeys accept their king choices and changes, and are obviously proud of their king improving in things or becoming better, macaque is so stubborn to refuse to accept that wukong actually did change for the right.
But this leads to another headcanon i have for Macaque, and it's the headcanon that he was always the type of person to think he was always right, like Tripitaka y'know? He just wasn't always an asshole about it.
Tripitaka is obviously different from macaque, and while Tripitaka wanted to help but had this flaw in his personality, macaque had this flaw that was never fixed.
It actually got worse.
And that flaw stayed, stuck in there with macaque.
While wukong somehow fixed his anger issues, kinda. (He doesn't throw tables at least, he screams only. He got more tolerant though!)
Macaque never fixed his little flaw, because he personally thinks it's not a bad flaw. It's not a flaw at all. He isn't in the wrong and he never was and he never will.
but back then he was a good person, we can excuse it, now he isn't anymore.

Random Yorinobu headcanons that no one but me asked for
(these are just my personal interpretations of his character, if you disagree that’s fine just don't be a dick about it!)
Lactose intolerant, but chooses to ignore it and chugs down milk products like there’s no tomorrow (and then complains about his tummy hurting.)
Has ink from his gangoon days, mostly irezumi sleeves on both arms. Although they pay tribute to his loved ones (I imagine he has a flower somewhere for Hanako and a dragon for his gang), they were partly done to piss off Saburo and to be ~edgy~, because the old man had (and probably still has) the old school "tattoo = criminal" mentality.
Judging by that picture of him as a little child, he probably had some sort of (hereditary) vision problems since he was a kid, but as he grew up into a teenager, he only wore contacts because he didn’t want to look like a dork. However, he eventually ditched them for his glasses out of comfort.
A huge car and bike enthusiast, and not only in a “rich guy who brags about having 50 Bugattis” type of way. He’s genuinely interested in vehicles and how they work, and learnt how to fix and customize them during his time in the Steel Dragons. Nowadays, he’s too busy to spend all of his time tinkering with bikes, but that doesn’t stop him from still appreciating the hobby.
Has a sort of messed up relationship with his physical appearance, but not due to low self esteem or whatever (although he’s probably struggled with that too). Yorinobu is basically his father’s twin, and knowing how bad their relationship is and that Saburo probably sort of abused him emotionally and mentally, it must have taken a toll to look like the man he comes to despise.
Tabloid darling. Not only did he feed them with his departure and feud with his father and brother, but even after Yori came back and was supposedly welcomed into the company, he didn't stop being a PR nightmare for their publicists, from a few DUI incidents to a messy breakup with the daughter of some Biotechnica board member, among other disasters.
In a similar vein as the last headcanon, at one point there must have been plans for a Real Housewives-style reality about the inner workings and personal lives of the Arasakas and their inner circles, with Yorinobu being really on board with it. However, the show was cancelled after its producers and director were mysteriously found dead, with their passings officially ruled as a suicide.
While probably having had a sheltered upbringing, according to lore he was allowed to study in outside schools. I don't think that he was a huge sports fan, but he did take a liking to soccer/football and also took up kyudo since Saburo wanted him to do something more traditional.
This one is ~ personal ~ but he's probably on the autism spectrum and actually struggled a lot with it, even more than the usual given how rigid the environment he grew up and spent part of his youth was. He likely only got diagnosed when he was way older and didn't even know that it was a possibility.

Jeff the Killer (Sing My Lullaby AU - Headcanons)
Basic Info:
He is Canadian
Did indeed carve a smile into his cheeks and yes, when he eats it’s a pain in the ass
That is, when he even eats as Jeff doesn’t really eat a lot but his body can take it
Perpetually tired, and no his eyelids have not been burned off, that would be extremely painful and he would have gone blind
Instead, he has really bad sunken in eyes and eyebags, as I said, perpetually tired as he really doesn’t sleep that often
He says it’s because sleep is for the weak but in reality, he often gets horrible nightmares of his past and what he remembers of it
He doesn’t like to remember the past
His skin was originally pretty pale (white bitch) but his skin started turning paper white after he started spending a lot of time in the Under Realm
Speaking of which, all of his injuries and usually deadly scars that would have likely been infected don’t get infected because of the fact that while Jeff is still human relatively, due to spending so much time around creatures of the dark and evil beings, his body was forced to adapt
Basically, being around monsters and other pastas made him develop some supernatural abilities
These abilities include heightened senses, faster reflexes, a minor healing factor, and enhanced strength
Mind you, he can’t lift a car, but he can toss people trice his size around
Jeff killed his parents, but did spare Liu
His parents were abusive (his mom was an alcoholic and physically abusive and his dad was neglectful)
Jeff and Liu were first attacked by the bullies when they were in highschool (Jeff was 17 and Liu was 18)
Unlike in the original Creepypasta, Liu was not immediately sent to prison and was instead being held in jail with bail, which his parents could not pay for nor did they care to pay for it
A few months go by and Jeff is miserable. no friends. family hates him.
Jeff ended up going to one of Liu’s friends’ kids party in Liu’s stead and hung out with the kids, which was one of the only lights in the past few months
The reason he started killing was due to a feeling which grew and grew.
Him snapping was proceeded by a lot of things
Abuse for one
But also he had never really had much of a support system besides Liu, so when Liu was taken in, it severely exasperated Jeff’s mental decline and his urges got worse
So at the party, when Randy and the others come in guns blazing, Jeff is shot in the face, carving out one part of his smile (he later carves out the other side) and he is set on fire despite killing Randy
The fire burns a good chunk of his left torso and left arm and neck. He hides these scars
When he is released from the hospital, Liu is not home unlike in the original story, and his parents being assholes to him plus the attack and him killing Randy just made him snap
He kills his parents, repeating something his mom used to say to him after she’d beat him: “Go to sleep.”
Jeff spends a lot of time on his own before he is found by the Slenderman after being chased out of a town by cops half starved and freezing
He is taken into Slendy’s mansion and slowly starts to become his strange Pasta status while also performing grunt work for Slendy
Romance/Platonic Headcanons:
Jeff + romance? what a joke
At least that’s what he’ll say
Once he gets all settled in and he’s in a lot more emotionally healthy environment, he can be a decent partner
But he will still be lowkey an asshole
Being alone for a long time and then being shown a world where anyone can fuck you over at anytime will make someone very jaded
Jeff has serious trust issues and it takes a lot to earn it
When someone eventually does earn his trust, he can and will be protective (romantic and platonic)
Jeff is demiromantic and demisexual and straight
He actively gets grossed out by thinking about other men’s genitalia
But a transwoman?
“Yeah that’s a lady and if she has a dick, she’s a girl, not a guy so no problem”
Jeff respects trans rights but still has some internalised homophobia due to his upbringing as Christian
He is closest to BEN in the household and the two regularly play videogames (which BEN usually wins, also yes this is a very fanon headcanon but I don’t care-)
I used to ship him with Kate Returns (OC) but now, I genuinely don’t know how to categorise their relationship
NSFW headcanons, minors shoo:
Jeff is not really into BDSM surprisingly, in fact he is pretty vanilla
Likes topping though
Will have casual sex no problemo, so long as there’s no emotions involved

C!tommy character headcanons!
Ohohoho fabro, you are fueling my hyperfixation… I’m so glad you asked about him >:)
Realistic Headcanon: I feel like this has been hinted towards in canon (although maybe that’s just me overspeculating, who knows) but I really love the idea of the clingy duo “head and heart” dynamic, with Tubbo being the head and Tommy being the heart. Tubbo tends to think the more rationally out of the two, trying to think what is best for them (think: Dream manipulated Tubbo into exiling Tommy by making him think it was the most logical thing to keep L’Manberg safe) while Tommy is more impulsive and follows his emotions rather than actually thinking through (ex: Tommy’s most valuable possessions are the things that have lots of sentimental value to him, he has displayed multiple times that he places his self worth in his relationship with others- first Wilbur, then Tubbo) and has been shown to be extremely loyal, sometimes even to the point of death, to those he cares about (which, side note, is why i totally believe in a hogwarts au, Tommy would be a Hufflepuff rather than a gryffindor). Both have their pros and cons, but you need both in a good relationship.
Hilarious Headcanon: As much as he acts like an angry, impulsive gremlin, Tommy is absolutely ✨soft✨ when it comes to his best friends (Tubbo and Ranboo). Don’t get me wrong, he still absolutely cusses up a storm and insults them when they’re together- because come on, it’s bench trio, they’re the literal embodiment of chaos- but he is absolutely wholesome with them when he thinks no one else is paying attention. Tubbo is pretty jacked and despite being considerably shorter will sometimes just pick Tommy up with no preamble and carry him places, and Tommy just is like “okay, so this is happening.” Also we know Tommy and Tubbo are very clingy emotionally but Tommy is also like. Physically clingy. He likes to be touching Tubbo whenever possible. It’s frequent to see them walking around the SMP together just casually holding hands (completely platonically) with Tommy shooting death glares to anyone who even looks at them wrong while Tubbo is just oblivious to it all and rambling about some topic (probably bees or nukes, knowing Tubbo). As for Ranboo, Tommy will never admit it but the allium Ranboo gave him as a gift when they first met made a huge impact on him and now Tommy loves flowers and him and Ranboo will frequently give each other flowers (not to get angsty on the funny headcanons but that’s part of the reason why Ranboo absolutely covered Tommy’s house with flowers after his death)
Angsty boi Headcanon: so we all know Dream’s whole “thing” with Tommy is that he brought love and attachment to the server, and the purpose of exile was to mold Tommy into the ideal attachment. That ultimately Tommy became Dream’s one attachment. We know that went both ways, that Tommy became so attached to Dream that he didn’t know how to live without him and became blind to his abuse. But what happened after he ran away? Sure, there was still lingering effects of his Stockholm syndrome with Dream, but eventually more of him realized the bad in Dream than the good. And for the headcanon, I think, after this happened, Tommy had to turn his attachments to something else. Tommy had become so used to being completely reliant on and submissive to Dream that now that he was independent again, he didn’t know what to do with himself. Even before Dream, he was pretty reliant on Wilbur to tell him what to do. I think Tommy was starting to realize that he had never truly been independent in his life, and now, for the first time he was being given that and couldn’t handle it. He had Techno for a little while, but Techno was never really a leader for Tommy. He treated him more like an equal than Wilbur or Dream ever did, and Tommy wasn’t used to that. I think that’s why he suddenly became so obsessed over the discs, even more so than before (telling Tubbo the discs were more valuable than him- although he immediately realized the mistake in that) and even hesitating when trading the disc for Tubbo’s life in the final disc war, although mostly he develops an attachment to Tubbo. It’s not like their friendship before- although I’m not saying their relationship was bad or unhealthy, I think Tommy was more desperate to cling onto Tubbo because he felt like without something to be attached to, he was nothing. This is why he told Tubbo he thought he was nothing without him, why he was so bitter about Ranboo “replacing him” as Tubbo’s best friend despite the fact that Tommy and Ranboo had been on really good terms through most of the smp (even during exile, when clingyduo was suffering). Why limbo was the worst thing he had ever experienced, enough to scare away any suicidal tendencies, because he was all alone apart from people who made him feel unsafe and miserable (mostly Wilbur, occasionally Schlatt). Tommy had always been dependent thanks to Wilbur’s need for authority but exile made him completely unable to function on his own.
Unrealistic Headcanon: okay this isn’t really original at all but it’s one a lot of the fandom seems to accept as canon, however I’ll categorize it as unrealistic seeing as it’s literally been addressed and debunked by the creators themselves (at least, if you asked Techno- Will clearly had other thoughts-) and that is, of course, sbi being a family. This one takes a lot of tweaking of canon due to the fact that Phil and Techno’s actions became very… questionable. But i mean, the pieces for it are definitely there. Wilbur canonically considered Tommy his brother anyway, even though they weren’t related, and Phil was actually quite a good friend and fatherly towards Tommy when he wasn’t blowing up L’Manberg (and.. he was the one to decorate the L’Manhole, so I like to think that was his way of apologizing- we know he doesn’t regret what he did but maybe he regrets the way he went about it and the friends he hurt). Even Techno, the biggest stretch out of the three, actually got really close to Tommy in that period between exile and Tommy betraying (“betraying”) him, and we can even see from his will that he never really stopped thinking about Tommy, and he had become one of the few people that he really cared about in his life, despite their clashing political and moral opinions. I usually like to go with the fandom favorite headcanon that Phil and Techno got preoccupied with Techno’s voices, maybe were leaving Will and Tommy alone a lot, Will was more of a parent to Tommy than Phil ever was, then Will got into a serious falling out with Phil and Techno and took off with Tommy to eventually create L’Manberg.
Hoo boy, that was… long. Like, way longer than I meant it to be. It was supposed to be like a few sentences but I ended up writing a mini essay for each one. Tell me I needed to rant about this to someone without telling me I needed to rant about this to someone 😂
I just love Dream smp character analysis, gosh I could talk about this all day
