Sucker I xix
Prompt: Y/N attends a school for the supernatural, specifically: werewolves, witches and vampires. The school might be magic, but so is love, right? Right?
Genre: angst, fluff, slight smut
Pairing: reader x 00 line
Inspired heavily by: Legacies (and The Vampire Diaries&The Originals)
a/n:
main m.list / sucker m.list /  i  ii  iii  iv   v   vi   vii   viii   ix   x   xi  xii xiii  xiv  xv  xvi  xvii xviii xix
(go to m.list for last parts)
“not to alarm anyone, but Haechan and y/n have been missing for quite some time now and we have made absolutely no progress in finding them, not to mention my dad isn’t even panicking, since, quote “y/n has a reputation of going missing with the witch boys, they’ll show up eventually”. Like, what’s that about?” Jisoo asked.
“She’s right. We’re the super squad, aren’t we?” Mark said, standing up from his seat.
“What can we do? Do a locator spell? We’ve tried that and it doesn’t work, it’s like there’s some stronger magic that doesn’t let us.” Jeno reminded.
“Dark magic.” Renjun corrected “It’s the only way, we won’t be able to block black magic unless we use it.” He added.
“No. We don’t allow dark magic. It gets inside your heart and it poisons your mind.”  Jaemin said.
“You’d be playing fire with fire, and someone is gonna get burned if we do that.” He added.
“He has a point.” Chenle agreed.
“Guys, what if Richard kidnapped them? What if he thinks Haechan is the soulmate from the prophesy so he can’t save the day when Richard brings y/n for the killing spree?” Renjun asked.
“Haechan? That can’t be. If anyone is her soulmate, it’s Jae-”
“Think about it. Why else would Haechan be missing?” Chenle cut Mark off and looked at Jaemin.
“I’m sorry, but it’s the only logical explanation.” Renjun said, placing a hand on Jaemin’s shoulder.
“I’ve come to peace with it. If I’m not her soulmate, I’m just happy whoever is can stop this. I know I’m suppose to hate you and your kind, but I want all of you with me, for as long as possible.” Jaemin said, looking at Jeno and Jisung.
“Jaemin, we love you too. Besides, who’s to say Richard got it right? What if Haechan isn’t missing because of that? There’s still a chance that you’re her soulmate, a chance that any of us are.” Jeno reassured.
“And there’s a chance that none of us are, but that’s okay. If she isn’t your romantic soulmate, you bet I’m your platonic soulmate, so I’ll try my best to make sure you’re happy.” Jeno added.
“We are the super squad, we'll come up with something.” Jaemin said, smiling at Jeno.
And with that, the front door flew across all of their heads, causing them to turn their attention to the two people who caused it.
“Well, every super squad needs a super villian.” Haechan smirked.
There you two were, dressed in all black, the dark aura around you being hard to miss, smirking, hand in hand.
“Chenle, get Mr. Hwang and Jisung, go with him!” Mark yelled as Renjun tried to put a barrier spell in front of you two, but were quickly stopped by Haechan’s magic, which sent him flying across the room.
“Oh, please. I have a fully activated tribrid by my side, what chance do you really have?” Haechan asked as you chuckled, seeing everyone so scared.
“Y/N, you’re better than this!” Jaemin said, making both you and Haechan laugh.
“Oh please, sit down, blood sucker.” You said as you spelled him to the chair he was standing in front of.
“Kitten, you know the plan, I’ll go search for the rest.” Haechan said as he made his way to the hallway.
The plan was to get all the werewolves in one place, as Richard said and to eliminate them one by one while you stopped the so called “super squad”.
“So, here we are: the brother who loved me too much.” you said, looking at Jaemin, but then focusing your attention on Jeno “ and the only who didn't love me enough.”
“Enough?!” Jeno practically yelled, walking towards you.
“You don’t know what it’s like being in love with you.” he added.
“I don’t?” You asked “Do enlighten me then.” You added.
“You know, when you and I were together, every single atom in my body told me that it was the right thing, that we were a perfect fit.” he said, the tears already forming in his eyes and for a split second, he could have sworn he saw a little bit of hope in your eyes, but it could have just been wishful thinking or his tears blurring his vision.
“And that kind of love, it can change your whole life, so don’t tell me I didn’t love you enough. I gave you everything and you know it! Sure, I was the one who broke up with you, but I regret it every single day.” He added and at this point, he was practically fighting his tears more than anything.
“Oh, so sad, so tragic. Really wish I cared.” You laughed as Mark grabbed him by his shoulders to pull him away, knowing he won’t be able to walk away by himself.
“Now, if you don’t mind, I’ll be-” “Wait.” Renjun said.
“If you’re going to go and do what Richard says, go ahead. If you’re going to go and do what Haechan says, be my guest, but what do you think will happen to you? You’re part werewolf, do you think Richard will just let you go like that? And Haechan, he’s blinded by dark magic, he’s not genuine. I saw the way you looked at each other and despite your humanity being turned off and him being intoxicated by dark magic, I could tell there was something there. Sure, he’s hot, but you shouldn’t pick him because of that. You heard the prophesy, do you really want to be responsible for so many more deaths?” Renjun asked.
“My humanity is off, no guilt, remember?” You asked, smirking.
“Listen, y/n, this isn’t you. You have a chance to save a thousand lives here, don’t you think that would make up for one accidental death?” Jaemin asked.
“I might not be your soulmate, the knight in shining armor that saves the day, but I will say this. Everything I like about me, is you. You made me a better person, you made me believe in love again. I want to do the same for you, even if it’s not romantic love, because we met and we talked and it was epic, but then the sun came up and reality set in. I love you, more than you will ever know. I will always cherish our moments together, even if I’m not the one for you. And it's because I love you that I can't be selfish with you, so I need you to realize, there is someone out there that can not only save you, but help you save all of us.” He added, holding onto your hand.
“The school might be magic, but so is love, right? And anybody capable of love, is capable of being saved. True love will triumph in the end - which may or may not be a lie, but if it is a lie, then it's the most beautiful lie we have right now, so please, let true love save the day, and all of us, because without the werewolves, we’re all losing someone or something.” He added, trying to hold back the tears as he looked over at Jeno.
Maybe the tear that fell on the back of his hand was his, maybe he was just so emotional that he didn’t even realize he was crying...or maybe it was yours. Maybe the tear was yours, but he doubted it.
How can the tear be yours? No humanity, no feelings. Tears would indicate feelings, so it must have been his, right?
“Enough of the lovey dovey shit.” You all heard a voice say from the hallway.
“It’s time. I’ve gathered all the werewolves besides Jeno and Jisoo so I advise you to make your way to the gym, young lady.” Mr. Hwang said.
“Dad, you do-” “Minsoo, I told you I’ll spare Jisoo, now please, what more do you want?” Mr. Hwang said as the 3 people standing behind him stepped into the light.
On his left, Haechan, on his right, the girl you had killed to activate your blood curse, and behind him? Minsoo, on the verge of tears.
 “Mr Hwang?” Hana asked.
“I prefer Richard.” He answered, smiling.
a/n: how many of you are shocked? one person? two? none? all? Norenmin be trying hard to flip the switch and all, but do you think any of them are endgame? I’m still deciding as I type this so the next/final chapter is a mystery to us all tbh, so tell me who you think is endgame and why, if you convince me that chenle is endgame, hell, i’ll even make chenle endgame. Here’s a link to where you can vote if you don’t feel like dropping an ask 👀

There Are No Atheists in Foxholes Statement
"There are no atheists in foxholes" is an aphorism used to argue that in times of extreme stress/fear, such as during war ("in foxholes"), all people will believe in, or hope for, a higher power.
Thus there are therefore no #atheists.

God Fodder @PeteAlonSoCrazy · 1h
And that is 100% false.
Only the weak minded believe in god out of fear.
In REALITY, there are no theists in foxholes.
If you are under attack or in imminent danger, theists immediately abandon any notion of faith, and stick to reality and logic for survival, just like atheists.

If you were confronted by a hungry lion, would you drop to your knees and pray, or think of a real world solution?
I know what I would do.
"Atheists in foxholes" is a complete myth and complete lie. Every theist looks both ways before crossing the street.

Tumblr media
¹⁴ I will not punish your daughters when they prostitute             themselves or your daughters-in-law when they             commit adultery.
For the men themselves go off with prostitutes & offer             sacrifices with cult prostitutes.
So a people without understanding will come to ruin.
     ●  Hosea 4:1 | ¹ Hear the word of the LORD, O children          of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people          of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, & no          knowledge of GOD in the land!

Tumblr media
     ●  Hosea 8:14 | ¹⁴ Israel has forgotten his Maker & built          palaces; Judah has multiplied its fortified cities.
But I will send fire upon their cities, & it will consume          their citadels.

     ●  Zechariah 11:8-9 | And in one month I dismissed three          shepherds. MY soul grew impatient with the flock, &          their souls also detested me.
⁹ Then I said, “I will no longer shepherd you.
Let the dying die, & the perishing perish; & let             those who remain devour one another’s flesh.”
     ●  Malachi 2:7 | ⁷ For the lips of a priest should preserve          knowledge, & people should seek instruction from his          mouth, because he is the messenger of the          LORD of Hosts.”

Tumblr media
Charles John Ellicott, Theologian [1819–1905] | Hosea 4:6
Tumblr media
[6] For lack of knowledge, which you, O priest, should have      kept alive in their hearts.
The knowledge of GOD is life eternal. [Comp. John 17:3]
     ●  John 17:3 | ³ Now this is eternal life, that they may          know YOU, the only true GOD, & JESUS CHRIST,          whom YOU have sent.
     ●  Proverbs 8:35 | ³⁵ For whoever finds me finds life &          obtains the favor of the LORD.
     ●  John 3:17 | ¹⁷ For GOD did not send HIS SON into the          world to condemn the world, but to save the world          through HIM.
     ●  John 5:44 | ⁴⁴ How can you believe if you accept glory          from one another, yet do not seek the glory that          comes from the only GOD?
Tumblr media
The LORD's “controversy” repudiates the entire priesthood, as they had rejected the true knowledge of GOD.
Tumblr media
They had inclined to calf-worship, had been vacillating respecting Baal, & had connived at moral offences.
If, on the other hand, with most commentators, we consider the people themselves as thus addressed, the passage refers to the cessation of the position of priesthood, which every member of the true theocracy ought to have maintained [Comp. Exodus 19:6]
     ●  Exodus 19:6 | ⁶ And unto ME you shall be a kingdom          of priests & a holy nation.’ These are the words that          you are to speak to the Israelites.”
     ●  1 Peter 2:5 | ⁵ you also, like living stones, are being          built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,          offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to GOD          through JESUS CHRIST.
     ●  1 Peter 2:9 | ⁹ But you are a chosen people, a royal          priesthood, a holy nation, a people for GOD’s own          possession, to proclaim the virtues of HIM who          called you out of darkness into HIS marvelous light.
     ●  Revelation 1:6 | ⁶ who has made us to be a kingdom,          priests to HIS GOD & FATHER—to HIM be the glory          & power forever & ever! Amen.
The people should no longer be priests to YHWH
Tumblr media
Joseph Benson, Methodist [1749–1821] | Hosea 4:6
Tumblr media
MY people are destroyed for lack of knowledge—The ignorance of the nature, necessity, & excellence of true religion, which prevailed among the Jews & Israelites, was one principal cause of those sins which drew down such heavy judgments upon them.
Because YOU have rejected knowledge—That is, would not use the means of knowledge which YOU had.
“But this lack of knowledge in the people was, in a great         measure, owing to the want of that constant instruction         which they ought to have received from the priests.
The mention of it, therefore, occasions a sudden transition from general threatenings to particular denunciations against the priesthood.”
I will also reject thee—The high-priest for the time being, as the representative of the whole order, seems to be here addressed; that you shall be no priest to ME—
Since the person threatened was to be rejected from       being a priest, he was priest at the time when he was       threatened; otherwise had not been subject of rejection.
The person threatened therefore must have been the head, for the time being, of the true Levitical priesthood, not of the intruded priesthood of Jeroboam.
This is a proof, that the metropolis, threatened with       excision is Jerusalem, not Samaria, & that the ten       tribes exclusively are not the subject of this part       of the prophecy.”—Bishop Horsley.
Tumblr media
Seeing you have forgotten the law of your GOD—Hast neither desired nor endeavoured to understand, or retain it in your mind, nor to transmit the knowledge & remembrance of it to posterity.
Tumblr media
I will also forget your children—Thy offspring, or the people whose priest you are, & of whom you ought to have taken fatherly care; I will not look upon them any longer as the seed of Abraham, & children of MY covenant.
Tumblr media
Matthew Henry, Nonconformist [1662-1714] | Hosea 4:6-11
Tumblr media
Hosea 4:6-11 | ⁶ MY people are destroyed for lack       of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge,       I will also reject you as MY priests.
      Since you have forgotten the law of your GOD, I will       also forget your children. ⁷ The more they multiplied,       the more they sinned against ME;
they exchanged their glorious GOD for a thing of disgrace.
⁸ They feed on the sins of MY people & set their hearts       on iniquity. ⁹ And it shall be like people, like priest.
I will punish both of them for their ways &       repay them for their deeds.
¹⁰ They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be           promiscuous but not multiply. For they have           stopped obeying the LORD.
¹¹ Promiscuity, wine, & new wine take away understanding.
Tumblr media
           Both priests & people            rejected knowledge;
           GOD will justly reject them.
Tumblr media
They forgot the law of GOD, neither desired nor endeavoured to retain it in mind, & to transmit the remembrance to their posterity; therefore GOD will justly forget them & their children.
Tumblr media
If we dishonour GOD with that which is our honour, it will, sooner or later, be turned into shame to us.
Tumblr media
Instead of warning the people against sin,       from the consideration of the sacrifices,       which showed what an offence sin was to GOD,       since it needed an atonement, the priests       encouraged the people to sin, since atonement       might be made at so small an expense.
It is very wicked to be pleased with the sins of others, because they may turn to our advantage.
What is unlawfully gained, cannot be comfortably used.
The people & the priests hardened one another in sin; therefore justly shall they share in the punishment.
Sharers in sin must expect to share in ruin.
Tumblr media
Any lust harboured in the heart, in time will eat out all its strength & vigour.
Tumblr media
That is the reason why many professors grow so heavy, so dull, so dead in the way of religion.
They have a liking for some secret lust, which takes  away their hearts.
Tumblr media
Albert Barnes, American Theologian [1798-1870] | Hosea 4:6
Tumblr media
1.] MY people are destroyed for lack of knowledge—      "MY people are," not, "is." This accurately represents the Hebrew.
The word "people" speaks of them as a whole; are, relates to the individuals of whom that whole is composed.
Together, the words express the           utter destruction of the whole,           one & all.
They are destroyed "for lack of knowledge," literally,     "of the knowledge," i.e., the only knowledge, which     in the creature is real knowledge, that knowledge,     of the want of which he had before complained,     the knowledge of the Creator.
So Isaiah mourns in the same words,
"therefore my people are gone into captivity,           because they have no knowledge" Isaiah 5:13.
They are destroyed for lack of it,
for the true knowledge of GOD         is the life of the soul, true life,         eternal life, as our Saviour saith,
"This is life eternal, that they should know Thee, the       only true GOD, & JESUS CHRIST whom Thou has sent."
    The source of this lack of knowledge, so fatal to the people,     was the willful rejection of that knowledge by the priest;
1.] Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject       thee, that you shalt be no priest to ME—
Tumblr media
GOD marks the relation between the sin &       the punishment, by retorting on them,       as it were, their own acts; & that with great       emphasis, "I will utterly reject thee.”
Tumblr media
Those, thus addressed, must have been true priests,     scattered up & down in Israel, who, in an irregular way,     offered sacrifices for them, & connived at their sins.
For GOD's sentence on them is,         "You shalt be no priest to ME."
But the priests whom Jeroboam consecrated out of other     tribes than Levi, were priests not to GOD, but to the calves.
Those then, originally true priests to GOD, had probably a     precarious livelihood, when the true worship of GOD was     deformed by the mixture of the calf-worship, & the people     "halted between two opinions;"
& so were tempted by poverty also, to            withhold from the people unpalatable truth.
Tumblr media
They shared, then, in the rejection     of GOD's truth which they dissembled,     & made themselves partakers     in its suppression.
Tumblr media
And now, they "despised, were disgusted" with the     knowledge of GOD, as all do in fact despise & dislike it,     who prefer ought besides to it.
So GOD repaid their contempt to them, & took away the office,     which, by their sinful connivances, they had hoped to retain.
2.] Seeing you have forgotten the law of your GOD—This      seems to have been the sin of the people.
Tumblr media
For the same persons could not, at least in     the same stage of sin, despise & forget.
Tumblr media
They who despise or "reject," must have before their     mind that which they "reject."
To reject is willful, conscious, deliberate sin,     with a high hand; to "forget," an act of negligence.
The rejection of GOD's law was the act of the     understanding & will, forgetfulness of it comes from     the neglect to look into it; & this,
     ●  from the distaste of the natural mind for spiritual things,      ●  from being absorbed in things of this world,      ●  from inattention to the duties prescribed by it, or          shrinking from seeing "that" condemned, which          is agreeable to the flesh.
Tumblr media
The priests knew GOD's law & "despised" it;     the people "forgot" it.
Tumblr media
In an advanced stage of sin, however, man may come     to forget what he once despised; & this is the     condition of the hardened sinner.
I will also forget YOUR children—Literally, "I will forget YOUR children, I too." GOD would mark the more, that HIS act followed on their's; they, first; then, HE saith, "I too." He would requite them, & do what it belonged not to HIS Goodness to do first.
Parents who are careless as to themselves, as to their own lives, even as to their own shame, still long that their children should not be as themselves.
GOD tries to touch their hearts, where they are least steeled against HIM.
He says not, "I will forget thee," but I will forget those nearest YOUR heart, "thy children." GOD is said to forget, when HE acts, as if HIS creatures were no longer in HIS mind, no more.
the objects of HIS providence & love.
Tumblr media
Jamieson-Fausset-Brow, Anglican & FC of Scotland [1871] | Hosea 4:6
Tumblr media
lack of knowledge—"of GOD" [Hosea 4:1], that is, lack of piety.
Their ignorance was wilful, as the epithet, "My people," implies; they ought to have known, having the opportunity, as the people of GOD. thou—O priest, so-called.
Not regularly constituted, but still bearing the name, while confounding the worship of Jehovah & of the calves in Beth-el [1 Kings 12:29, 31].
I will … forget YOUR children—Not only those who then were alive should be deprived of the priesthood, but their children who, in the ordinary course would have succeeded them, should be set aside.

My people: the divorce was not yet issued out, the ten tribes yet were in some sense Ammi.
Are destroyed; not only in the prophetic style, are, because ere long they shall most certainly be destroyed, but in the course of the history it is plain in matter of fact; many of them were cut off by Pul king of Assyria, 2 Kings 15, & many were destroyed by the bloody & cruel tyranny of Menahem, & more were ruined in their estates by exactions & impositions.
The civil wars, the seditions, the usurpations of some & the deposing of others, were things the prophet Hosea lived to see, & I believe speaks of here as things that had already destroyed many.
For lack of knowledge of GOD, his law, his menaces, his providences, & government of the world.
Had they known his holy nature, his jealousy for his own glory, his hatred of sin & his power to punish it, had they known their GOD, they would either have forborne to sin, or repented of what sins they had committed, & so prevented his wrath.
Because thou: the prophet now turns his words from the people to the priests among them.
The people’s ignorance was much from the ignorance & profane humour of their priests, & this the prophet doth tacitly charge on the priests, to whom he speaks as to one particular person:
Thou, who callest thyself, art accounted by the people, & goest under the name of a priest.
Hast rejected knowledge: strange perverseness! they who should direct others, who should be teachers, are & will be ignorant, will not know, reject knowledge; detestest to know, as the Chaldee paraphrase.
I will also reject thee; with equal dislike I will reject time, I will destroy your Church constitution, & with that I will destroy your priesthood; & I will do this with detestation & abhorrence too.
Thou have forgotten the law of YOUR GOD: O Israel, & you, O priests, you have all sinned together, slighted & disrespected the law, broken all the precepts of it, set up other gods, other worship, other priests than the law directs.
I will also forget; I will pay thee in YOUR own coin, I will forget, i.e. slight & disregard.
Thy children; the people of Israel, the whole kingdom of the ten tribes; both those pretended priests & their ghostly children with them.

John Gill, Baptist & Calvinist [1697-1771] | Hosea 4:6
Tumblr media
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge—This is not to be understood of those who are the LORD's people by special grace; for they cannot he destroyed, at least with everlasting destruction; GOD's love to them, his choice of them, covenant with them, the redemption of them by CHRIST, & the grace of GOD in them, secure them from such destruction: nor can they perish through want of knowledge; for though they are by nature as ignorant as others, yet it is the determinate will of GOD to bring them to the knowledge of the truth, in order to salvation; & that same decree which fixes salvation as the end, secures the belief of the truth as the means; & the covenant of grace provides for their knowledge of spiritual things, as well as other spiritual blessings; in consequence of which their minds are enlightened by the SPIRIT of wisdom & understanding, & they have the knowledge of GOD & CHRIST given them, which is life eternal.
But this is to he understood of the people of the ten tribes of Israel, who were nationally & nominally the people of GOD, were so by profession; they called themselves the people of GOD; & though they were idolaters, yet they professed to worship GOD in their idols; & as yet GOD's "loammi" had not taken place upon them; he still sent his prophets among them, to reprove & reform them, & they were not as yet finally rejected by him, & cast out of their land.
These may be said to be "destroyed", because they were threatened with destruction, & it was near at hand, they were just upon the brink of it; & because of the certainty of it, & this "through the lack of knowledge": either in the people, who were ignorant of GOD, his mind, & will, & worship, & without fear & reverence of him, which was the cause of all the abominations they ran into, for which they were threatened with ruin; or in the priests, whose business it was to teach & instruct the people; but instead of teaching them true doctrine, & the true, manner of worship, taught them false doctrine, & led them into superstition & idolatry; & so they perished through the default of the priests in performing their office; which sense is confirmed by what follows: because YOU have rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that YOU shall be no priest to me; the priests that Jeroboam made were of the lowest of the people, ignorant & illiterate men, 1 Kings 12:31 & they chose to continue such; they rejected with contempt & abhorrence, as the word signifies, the knowledge of GOD, & of all divine things; of the law of GOD, concerning what was to be done, or not to be done, by the people; & of all statutes & ordinances relating to divine worship, & the performance of the priestly office: & though there might be some of Aaron's line that continued in the land of Israel, & in their office; yet these affected the same ignorance, & therefore the LORD threatens them with a rejection from the priesthood; or, however, that they should be no priests to him, or in his account, but should be had in the utmost abhorrence & contempt, The word here used has a letter in it more than usual [s], which may signify the utter rejection of them, & the great contempt they were had in by the LORD; this was to take place, & did, at the captivity by Shalmaneser.
Seeing YOU have forgotten the law of YOUR GOD: which he had given them, who was their GOD by profession; & which they had forgot as if they never had read or learnt it; & so as not to observe & keep it themselves, nor teach & instruct others in it:
I will also forget YOUR children; have no regard to them, take no notice & care of them, as if they were never known by him; meaning either the people in general, their disciples & spiritual children; or else their natural children, who should be cut off, & not succeed them in the priesthood.
The words are very emphatic, "I will forget them, even I" [t]; which expresses the certainty of it more fully, as well as more clearly points at the justness of the retaliation.
[s] the last is superfluous; the reason of the word being so written.

Tumblr media
MY people are destroyed] The prophet cannot escape, because the people is on the brink of ruin through the prophet’s fault.
It is the perfect of prophetic certitude, ‘my people is already as good as destroyed.’
for lack of knowledge] More precisely, by reason of [their] lack of knowledge.
The ‘knowledge of GOD’ is meant [see on Hosea 4:1].
YOU have rejected knowledge] Thou is emphatically expressed in the Hebrew.
‘Knowledge’, viz.
of GOD’s revealed will, was theoretically a deposit in the priestly order [Deuteronomy 33:10; Ezekiel 44:23; Malachi 2:7].
There is no reason to think that the ‘priest-people’ of Israel is addressed; there was no priest-people till after the return from exile.
forgotten … forget] To ‘forget’ what has been committed to one’s charge is the same as to ignore it.
The penalty of the priests is not really distinct from that of the people [see Hosea 4:9]; the priestly office could in no full sense be maintained in captivity.
the law of YOUR GOD] ‘Thy GOD’, because the priest was specially ‘brought near’ to Jehovah.
‘The law’, Heb.
tôr âh, will cover oral as well as written instructions [comp.
Deuteronomy 17:11], but a later passage [Hosea 8:12] shows that a written legislation existed in Hosea’s time.
The contents of this may be presumed from Hosea’s language to have been, at any rate to a large extent, concerned  with applications of religious morality.
thy children] i.e.
the members of the priestly caste;  ‘thy brethren’ would be more consistent with the figure [compHosea 4:6.
‘thy mother’, Hosea 4:5].

—My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Here the verb is plural & its subject singular, because, being collective, it comprehends all the individual members of the nation.
The word כדמו is rendered
[1] by Jerome in the sense of "silence:" "conticuit populus incus," which he explains to mean "sinking into eternal silence." So also the Chaldee.
[2] The LXX., understands it in the sense of "likeness:" "My people are like [ὡμοιώθη] as if they had no knowledge." Aben Ezra disproves this sense as follows: "This word, if it were from the root signifying 'likeness,' would have after it el with seghol, as, 'To [el with seghol] whom art YOU like in YOUR greatness?' [Ezekiel 31:2]; but without the word el it has the meaning of ' cutting off.'" So Kimchi: "Here also it has the sense of 'cutting off.'" The article before "knowledge" implies renewed mention & refers to the word in ver.
1; or it may emphasize the word as that knowledge by way of eminence, which surpasses all other knowledge, & without which no other knowledge can really prove a blessing in the end.
The knowledge of GOD is the most excellent of all sciences.
Paul counted all things but loss in comparison with its possession; & our blessed LORD himself says, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true GOD, & JESUS CHRIST, whom YOU have sent;" while the Prophet Isaiah attributed the captivity to its absence: "My people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge." Because YOU have rejected knowledge...
seeing YOU have forgotten the Law of YOUR Son.
The cause of this ignorance is here charged on the unfaithfulness of the priesthood.
They rejected knowledge & forgot the Law of their GOD.
The two concluding clauses of this verse may be regarded as "split members" of a single sentence.
As rejection implies the presence of the object rejected, while forgetfulness implies its absence from the mind or memory, some have understood rejection of knowledge as the sin of the priest, & forgetfulness that of the people.
This separation is not necessary, for what men continue for a time to despise they will by-and-by forget.
The forgetfulness is thus an advance upon rejection.
The sin of these priests was very great, for, while the priests' lips were required to keep knowledge, they neither preserved that knowledge themselves nor promoted it among the people; hence the indignant & direct address.
Thus Kimchi says: "HE addresses the priestly order that existed at that time: Thou have rejected he knowledge for thyself & to teach it to the people, consequently I will reject thee from being a priest unto me.
Since YOU dost not exercise the office of priest, which is to teach the Law, I will reject thee so that YOU shalt not be a priest in my house." I will also reject thee that YOU shalt be no priest to me...
I will also forget YOUR children, even I.
The punishment resembles the offence; the human delinquency is reflected in the Divine retaliation.
To make this the more pointed, the "YOU on YOUR part [attah]" at the head of the sentence has its counterpart, or rather is counterbalanced by the "even I" or "I too [gam ani]" at its close.
The severity of the punishment is augmented by the threat that, not only the then existing priests, but their sons after them, would be excluded from the honor of the priesthood.
This was touching painfully the tenderest part.
It needs scarcely be observed that forgetfulness is only spoken of GOD in a figurative sense, & after the manner of men, that being forgotten which is no longer the object of attention or affection.
"The meaning of אשׁ," says Kimchi, "is by way of figure, like the man who forgets something & does not take it to heart." The unusual form אֶמְאָסְאָך has been variously accounted for.
The Massorites mark the aleph before caph as redundant; it is omitted in several manuscripts of Kennicott & De Rossi, as also some of the early printed editions.
Kimchi confesses his ignorance of its use.
Olshausen treats it as a copyist's error; but Ewald "regards it as an Aram-seen pausal form." Some take the reference to be to Israel as a kingdom of priest

Allies Ch11
“Emperor!” Nya yelled as they rushed towards Emperor Wu, just as he mounted his horse.
“Knights. Good. We must quickly head to the Golden Peaks to defend it from Garmadon and his army.” Wu told them urgently urging his white horse ahead, the Knights following after him.
“We’re sorry we failed you Emperor. Garmadon had someone else on his team-” Zane spoke up.
“A super strong, super fast Umberian!” Jay interrupted.
“And get this!” Cole took over.
“He’s the Green Knight!” They all yelled and Wu looked shocked at that.
“The Green Knight is an Umberian?” Wu whispered in shock, understanding his Knights’ defeat now.
“Yeah! He’s on Garmadon’s side! He kicked all of our asses like it was nothing!” Kai huffed angrily as he dodged a boulder in the path to the Golden Peaks.
“That is to be expected. The Green Knight is stronger than all four of you combined. And to have him on Garmadon’s side…” Wu whispered, fearful now. “No matter what, we must not allow Garmadon to forge the Megaweapon.” He told them all urgently.
“But how do we even fight them now? They have the Golden Weapons, the Green Knight and an indestructible army. We can only hold them back for so long and I’m sure this time, they won’t retreat when their organic members' numbers have lessened.” Zane pointed out.
“... We cannot lose hope nor give up. We fight until the bitter end.” He told the Knights who shared a look before nodding determinedly.
They were Knights, and Knights never quit. They had to fight with their all… Even when the situation looks hopeless.
_________
“This thing has missiles?” Lloyd asked, looking over the control panel wide eyed, already figuring out how to pilot it with a glance.
Cryptor made sure he kept up to date with modern technology after all. He could make a Nindroid from scratch right now if he wanted.
“Yes but we won’t be using that unless the situation becomes dire.” Garmadon says as he waited for them to load two missiles into the Garmatron, a spare third left in a storage compartment of the large vehicle. “There is one thing we must do before we leave however.” He says as he walked along the platform to the edge, looking over at his army of Stone Warriors and a very small fleet of Nindroids.
He wasn’t bringing all of his army. No, he wasn’t foolish enough to leave his castle and the large village worth of people living there unarmed. Wu would bring his strongest fighters to the Golden Peak, there was no doubt in that. But what of the rest of his army? Naturally, he would send them here for a counter attack. Wu had a vast army of many men. The only thing that gave Garmadon a slight advantage with his smaller army, was the fact that half his army was made of indestructible Stone Soldiers and tough titanium Nindroids that could be rebuilt and repaired if destroyed or damaged.
“Generals!” Garmadon called and all four Generals who would be joining him in war came forward, kneeling -bowing in Pythor’s case- before him and Lloyd as he walked over.
“Emperor, Prince.” They all said in unison.
“Today, we march to the Golden Peak to put an end to this era of war once and for all. Today, we fight for our home. Today, we bring about an era of long lasting, even eternal peace!” He spoke loudly and a loud cheer erupted again. “I may not have started off as an image of peace- and I wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for my son.” He says, looking to Lloyd who gave him a small smile, a sight very rarely seen in public.
“It’s thanks to him and the efforts of my Generals, the efforts of my soldiers… And the effort of my people that we have reached this point.” He continued, looking over them  all. “And as your Emperor, know that I will not let your hard work, your sacrifices go to waste. I will fulfill my crowning promise to you all and put an end to this conflict for good!” He yelled and they cheered even louder.
“We march!” Garmadon yelled over their cheers and each of his four generals took their place at the front of the army before they all began to march out through the lowered castle gate, their footsteps thunderous.
“What about the dragons?” Lloyd asked, looking towards them where they were grounded, looking around their new environment curiously.
“While they have bonded with you, in truth, they belong to the four Knights of Fulgor separated like this. They were hostile to the Knights out of duty to protect the Golden Weapons. However, if the Knights were to approach them now, they would be allowed to mount them and use their power against us. It’s best to leave them behind.” Garmadon told his son and he nods, facing forward as his father navigated the Garmatron forward, a small number of his men behind him.
Lloyd looked ahead as they left the castle, his blood rushing under his cool exterior. This was it. This was the march to peace at last. After thousands of years of fighting, the war will end today. No more lives will be lost on the battlefield after this. His father’s burden would lighten and lighten still with time. He carries the burden of thousands of lives lost, all of their names written down and kept in a slot within his throne, visible above his head. The burden of an Emperor… Lloyd glanced up at his father’s serious face then looked ahead again. And now, at last, the burden of a Prince too. He would finally fight by his father’s side, finally play his part as a Prince.
He flipped his hood back, scrubbing the paint off his face then met his father’s gaze once he felt him watching him. He looked at him with resolve, not willing to hide any more. He was the Prince of Penumbra, son to the second Emperor; Garmadon. He tossed his cloak aside, leaving only the rich green cape clasped to his armor, not caring as the wind carried it back to the castle. He was going to fight as he was. He was not ashamed of his heritage and he would not let anyone let him feel so. Garmadon looked over his son for a moment longer before he nodded his approval, looking forward as they approached Fulgor. He would have left his son behind if he could but he knew he couldn’t talk him out of not coming along. That, and he will need his power. This Morro, while his weakness is clear, he is a force Garmadon knew should not be reckoned with.
______
“No Golden Weapons?” Morro asked once the Knights arrived at the base of the boiling Golden Peak.
“No. We were bested.” Zane says as they took a defensive stance next to him.
“But boy do we have just as bad news for you.” Jay says as he activated his electroreception as far out as it could go just in case they were planning a sneak attack.
“The Green Knight was the one to take us out.” Zane told him and Morro gasped.
“What?! That doesn’t make any sense! How are you so sure whoever they are is the Green Knight? And if they were, why would they attack you?” Morro says demanding answers.
“The Golden Weapons reacted to him-”
“And he’s an Umberian, meaning he’s on Garmadon’s side.” Kai says, cutting Cole off as he spoke.
“The Green Knight? An Umberian?” Morro whispered, gripping his fists tightly.
The prophesied Green Knight, meant to deliver them into a time of peace was on Garmadon’s side? What kind of twisted destiny is this? Why let an Umberian be the Green Knight?! He was best suited for it and if not him, then any of the four Knights would be fine! He gritted his teeth as fury filled him, making the wind whip around him.
“Morr-”
“Then screw destiny!” He snapped suddenly, gaining all of the elemental masters’ attention, his father’s included. “I don’t care what it or the Weapons say! I am the Green Knight and I will defeat Garmadon!” He yelled and Wu frowned.
He knew Morro knew as well as he does that destiny doesn’t work that way. His stubbornness will not change that. Wu turned back to the horizon where he knew his brother would be coming from. He won’t deject him however. That energy is what they will need to push through this.
“Garmadon will come and he will come with his army. They will outnumber us but we must not let them overwhelm us. Break apart his numbers and strike them down.” Wu told the elemental masters as he turned to them. “The Stone Soldiers he’s bound to bring will be challenging but not impossible to defeat. While we cannot destroy them, we can hinder them. Cole, Zane, Kai and Jay, you four will focus on his Generals. Morro, you will face the Green Knight.” He instructed and Morro looked conflicted.
He wanted to be the one to defeat Garmadon but defeating the Green Knight was too tempting of an offer on its own. He gritted his teeth but nodded.
“The rest of you will be in charge of taking care of as many of them as you can. Keep them distracted even.” He says to the elemental masters and they nodded. “... I’ll take on Garmadon.” Wu says, holding his dragon bone sword tightly.
“The Golden Weapons are top priority. It’s not too late to get them back from Garmadon. Once I retrieve them, you will all be tasked with keeping them all at bay long enough for me to craft the Mega Weapon.” He told them all and they nodded, weapons grasped firmly and determination burning in their eyes.
Wu turned back to the horizon, slipping on his golden, horned helmet. The Dragon Armor would give him some resistance to Garmadon’s powers and protection from his weapons. It was his father’s first and now his. He narrowed his eyes, stealing himself. With this armor, with his father’s legacy, he will end this war as he promised and bring order to this realm. The Knights watched Wu as he stood there the gold cape attached to his armor billowing in the wind, waiting for the final battle to come. This was it. The reality of that was starting to settle in. This was the last battle of this war. This battle will determine the faith of all of Ninjago. It will either be saved from the war that plagued it for thousands of years, or… Fall to chaos and darkness. But they won’t let that happen. They won’t.
Kai glanced across at Zane standing next to him. Any of them could die during this. Could lose the other. He knew Zane wasn’t indestructible, despite his titanium build, still visible from where half his face plate was missing.. He was painfully aware of that, and was painfully aware that he wasn’t indestructible either. This could be their last moment together. Zane looked across at Kai, feeling his eyes on him- then blinked once he reached a hand out, cupping his cheek that was missing his face plate.
“I love you, you know that, right?” Kai told him and Zane’s breath caught.
“This isn’t the end Kai. We’ll make it through this.” He told Kai, placing his hand over his that was still on his cheek.
“I know, I know.” Kai huffed, giving him his Kai™ grin. “I’m just reminding you doll.” He told him, stepping forward to press their foreheads together.
Zane knew Kai wasn’t being very truthful. He didn’t think that they would die, no. But he knew there was a possibility and he wasn't willing for the worst case scenario to happen without him saying those words once more. He knew Kai well enough. Zane sighed softly, reaching across to cup his cheek in return. He could sympathise with that.
“I love you too Kai.” He told him softly, seeing him close his red-amber eyes at that, taking a slow breath before managing a more honest smile.
Jay watched them both as they basically said goodbye to each other then looked down at his nunchucks he held tightly, his knuckles white. He kept telling himself that he would wait until after the war before he told Cole about how he really felt about him… Said it to himself every day he woke up and every night that he went to sleep. It’s just… Anxious sparks of lightning arched along his fists and arms. He never considered- should have considered and expected- but never did consider that he might not live to see the end of the war, never considered that Cole might not see the end of the war. It was a realisation that shook him to the core. He should say something in this calm-before-the-storm they had. Knows he should but… But… He could barely even breath, worse open his tightly closed mouth…
Cole watched Jay as weak arcs of lightning sparked against his armor, his small but calloused hands trembling as he gripped his nunchucks painfully tight. Touching him now was asking for a painful shock. But despite that, Cole wanted to. Wanted to reassure him. Wanted to tell him that they would make it through this, maybe not in one piece but that they would. Wanted to… Wanted to pull him close and press soft kisses against the cute freckles dusting his cheeks and across his nose… Wanted to kiss the tip of his button nose… Wanted to kiss the no doubt soft lips he always worries with his teeth whenever he gets nervous… He was his best friend since they were kids… Or so he’d like to think. He hadn’t wanted to push the boundaries they had, hadn’t wanted to scare him with his feelings. Jay was the one to talk about dating cute girls while he was the one who pinned in silence over his cute best friend. He still didn’t want to push things but…
He didn’t think he could go off dying until he made his feelings known. It might cost them their friendship but at least he had the memories of their time together. He took a breath. Time was of the essence and right now, they didn’t have much of it before they would need to give their all for the sake of Ninjago. He swallowed before taking a deeper breath.
“Jay…” He began and the shorter brunette turned to look at him, large blue eyes filled with more emotions than he could count.
He almost choked. Almost.
“I’m cliche as hell to do this right now- really, the whole time we’ve been friends is a big cliche- but I have to let you know before I don’t have a chance any more.” Cole began, fumbling over his words but pressing himself to continue.
“If this is about that time my armor was mysteriously filled with slime during our time as Junior Knights, I already know it was you.” Jay huffed as he fiddled with his Nunchucks. “But I-”
“What? No. That’s not what I was trying to say- and that was Kai.” Cole clarified before Jay could say more and Kai grumbled about keeping secrets nearby. “I’m trying to say I like you, you big nerd.” He says, a sly smile tugging the corner of his lips.
“I figured you must since we’re friends. But-”
“You dense-” Cole says in frustration, getting embarrassed as the others who were not so subtly listening in began to laugh. “You’re really going to make me confess everything, aren’t you?” He groaned into his hands and Jay was confused.
What was Cole going on about? He would really appreciate it if he could shut up for a second though. He was trying to confess his feelings before he chickened out here!
Cole scrubbed his face with his palms then took a deep breath, grasping Jay by the shoulders.
“I’m in love with you, you adorable idiot! I have been since we were kids!” Cole blurts and Jay stared at him lost for a few moments- before what he was saying hit him over the head like a mallet.
Jay’s first response was choking on whatever he was about to say.
“You… Love me?!” Jay asked him once he found the ability to speak, his eyes wide as shock prevented him to fully grasp that somehow, some way, Cole loved him too.
“Yes, you. Do you see any other adorable, freckled, button nosed idiot genius here?” Cole says exasperatedly then hesitated. “So if you’re going to reject me, do it already. I couldn’t live with myself if I hadn’t told you before- mmph!” He was cut off by Jay grasping the front of his armor, yanking him down low enough so he could kiss him.
“Finally.” Nya huffed with a smirk as she crossed her arms, glancing away as they made out once Cole comprehended that he was being kissed.
They were insufferable with how oblivious they both were. Worse than Kai and Zane were. Jay pulled back and Cole blinked at him a few times.
“... So was that a ‘I like you too’ kiss or an ‘I like you as a friend’ kiss or a ‘don’t talk to me again’ kiss?” Cole asked Jay and he snorted.
“Who’s the idiot now?” Jay asked him, eyes sparkling as he grinned. “But it’s none of the above.” He added and Cole didn’t know how to feel about that.
“It’s an ‘I love you too’ kiss. Also a ‘we’re idiots to not have said something sooner since I’ve been crushing on you since we were kids too’ and an ‘I take offense to that idiot genius comment’ kiss.” Jay told him and Cole blinked at him before laughing, leaning down to bump their noses together, his heart even heavier but with love.
Jay couldn’t help but join him. Cole was right. Love confessions before a fight that could possibly kill them? Cliche. But hey! On the plus side, if they survive it, they could finally start dating. Cole leaned down to kiss Jay again- but paused half way there.
“What’s wrong?” Jay asked him, eyes half lidded, looking forward to another kiss. Cole pulled back completely, looking down at his feet, firm on the ground.
“Do you feel that?” Cole asked Jay, feeling the rhythmic rumbling beneath his feet.
“Feel what?” Jay asked, staying still so he could see if he felt whatever ‘it’ was too.
Cole was quiet for another moment, thinking this through… Before it hit him. He looked up at Wu who had turned to look at him then.
“... They’re here.” ____________

Thursday, Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green)
First Reading
Jeremiah 2:1-3, 7-8, 12-13
They have forsaken me, the source of living waters; they have dug themselves broken cisterns.
This word of the Lord came to me:
Go, cry out this message for Jerusalem to hear!
I remember the devotion of your youth,
how you loved me as a bride,
Following me in the desert,
in a land unsown.
Sacred to the Lord was Israel,
the first fruits of his harvest;
Should any presume to partake of them,
evil would befall them, says the Lord.
When I brought you into the garden land
to eat its goodly fruits,
You entered and defiled my land,
you made my heritage loathsome.
The priests asked not,
“Where is the Lord?”
Those who dealt with the law knew me not:
the shepherds rebelled against me.
The prophets prophesied by Baal,
and went after useless idols.
Be amazed at this, O heavens,
and shudder with sheer horror, says the Lord.
Two evils have my people done:
they have forsaken me, the source of living waters;
They have dug themselves cisterns,
broken cisterns, that hold no water.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 36:6-7ab, 8-9, 10-11
R/ With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.
O Lord, your mercy reaches to heaven;
your faithfulness, to the clouds.
Your justice is like the mountains of God;
your judgments, like the mighty deep.
R/ With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.
How precious is your mercy, O God!
The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They have their fill of the prime gifts of your house;
from your delightful stream you give them to drink.
R/ With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.
For with you is the fountain of life,
and in your light we see light.
Keep up your mercy toward your friends,
your just defense of the upright of heart.
R/ With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.
Gospel Acclamation

Because knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted.
The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Why do you speak to the crowd in parables?” He said to them in reply, “Because knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted. To anyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand. Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says:
You shall indeed hear but not understand,
you shall indeed look but never see.
Gross is the heart of this people,
they will hardly hear with their ears,
they have closed their eyes,
lest they see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and understand with their hearts and be converted,
and I heal them.
“But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:19-20
Yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me.
Brothers and sisters: Through the law I died to the law, that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ; yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me.

Gospel Acclamation
John 15:9b, 5b
Alleluia, alleluia.
Remain in my love, says the Lord;
whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.
Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel
John 15:1-8
Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.
Jesus said to his disciples: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and every one that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you. Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.”

LOST ASGORE, King of LONG LOST HOPE’S timeline.
A KING BORN OF TRAGEDY AND LOSS.
A king, not battle worn, but magic weary, dragged down into hell and faced with oblivion. A king who fought valiantly to save his timeline from THE BEAST WITH RED EYES, the fabled one prophesied to bring destruction to INNUMEROUS TIMELINES. The BEAST who marked him with a scar he still bears to this day, one he will never forget.
His powers were not meant for boiling blood nor inflicting wounds. He was a healer, one who knew how to use such good for the evils of war and feared not in doing so, but resented the choices ultimately made in his times of need. Healing mouths and noses shut, prompting heart attacks with specialized herbs, knowing the body of monster and man so wholly that he could use it to his whim - it made him the ruler he was.
And what a ruler!
He and Toriel ruled together, not with an iron fist, but an iron spine. A backbone forged with the strengths of monsterkind and their own HOPES, and DREAMS. They lived on the surface with humans for as long as they could remember, survived many wars waged against them, even pacified their way through treaties that kept their people alive - though that was mostly Toriel’s doing, since he still was not very good with words and dealt with a stutter from birth. He was known as the QUIET PROPHET KING, and she the GENTLE SAVIOR QUEEN. They were flexible and understanding to most, but would not bow, bend, nor break to the whims of those who sought their destruction and to use their people’s kindness for evil.
Asgore himself bore a gift unlike any of his kind. He bore the gift of SPIRITUALITY that manifested in LIGHT PURPLE magic that allowed him clairvoyance and insight into the realities behind people and dreams he encountered. The magic manifested in his right eye, along with the ORANGE magic of BRAVERY in his left eye (though it was never as strong as his purple magic). With this purple hue, he could see into worlds and dreams alike. He could see the future and the past, although it typically revolved around how to SAVE the world and all the goodness within it, never the bad. He even predicted his and Toriel’s old age, all at the hands of their beloved son Asriel, whom later became their beloved prince.
And so they lived, HAPPILY EVER AFTER, in a world where humans and monsterkind remained at peace.
Until the king had a dream.
It was unlike most of his dreams. Filled to the brim with HATE and MALICE, this dream plunged him deep within a scorched battlefield, left to wander the remains of what he knew must have been his entire world. Nothing but ruins, bloody corpses and dusty swords, and a single weeping willow with two gravestones beneath it. ONE FOR TORIEL, AND ONE FOR ASRIEL.
From behind the stones, a creature rose from the shadows. Not monster, but not quite human. A demon? A BEAST IN SHINING SILK with a bloody, dusty knife in hand. The grin he bore could’ve shattered Asgore’s very SOUL.
“A prophet is only as good as his prophesies!” That is what THE BEAST told him that fateful day they first met. There stood before him a False Prophet, wrapped in glittering gold, stark purple, sterling silver, giving him a ghost of a warning of his arrival. The bastardized version of the DELTA RUNE they wore only spurned the king, anger and resentment boiling in his chest. When he drew his trident, the creature only LAUGHED, eyes flashing a demonic RED before speaking once more:
“TELL ME, O FALSE PROPHET,” the ghost said, “REASON WITH ME, AND BE STILL.
“DO YOU REALLY THINK                                                   YOU CAN STOP
                                     THE UNIVERSE’S WILL?”
Tumblr media
He gestured around him. to the land burned to ash, blackened by flame and magic alike. Corpses of humans and dust of monsters lie scattered among the flame. Some sort of fate urged the king to turn to his left, only to see a mirror of himself staring back. The mirror looked unlike any horrifying vision he’d seen prior: ONE EYE GONE. HALF OF HIS FACE REMOVED. ONE EAR MISSING. BODY MELTED AND WITHERED.
It was like staring into DEATH ITSELF.
“EVERYONE MUST DIE EVENTUALLY, O KING. “AND YOU? HAVE LIVED A GOOD LIFE. “BUT IT WILL END. IT MUST END. “SO WHY NOT LET ME DO THE ENDING INSTEAD OF THE CRUEL UNIVERSE?”
The demon continued his tirade, circling the monster as if he was some sort of prey. Asgore could not peel his eyes from the vision of himself, even as the mirror reflection of the BEAST sauntered up behind his hulking form, knife in tow. It was there he saw it:, a twisted, demented SOUL devouring the timeline behind them as the creature continued to speak.
“DO NOT FEAR. “I WILL MAKE IT “AS PAINLESS “AS YOU WANT IT TO BE.”
The king awoke with LAUGHTER in his head and dread bowing down his aching body. This was the first vision he’d ever had that filled him with such emotion. The first foretelling of terror that even he couldn’t stomach. Surely not even Toriel, his companion in life, could help him stop this end? The creature was right: EVERYTHING MUST END. Even he, and even the universe.
But why in such an ugly and devastating way?
Sorrow wracked his body for weeks as he kept the turmoil to himself, unable to even conceive how to tell another. Soon enough he found himself unable to function properly. DECAYED, WITHERED, WITHDRAWN. If Toriel hadn’t pulled him from his somber mood one night with a ferocious and fiery shout, he might have completely turned to dust from his thoughts alone. His confession afterwards came flooding over tears and apologies, begging for forgiveness for keeping her from his thoughts, for being unable to tell her Armageddon was finally upon them. Finally, the end was nigh, and he was forced to be the one to tell them all they were going TO DIE.
Toriel did not know how to respond. But she did know they had to ACT, and do so swiftly. Rumors of the BEAST had already begun their descent; a new Prophet who begun spreading his visions of death and destruction had begun whispering around the castle. Chaos struck humanity first, tearing them down wall by wall. Toriel knew their days were numbered the moment Asgore confirmed the Prophet’s coming.
But the two formulated a plan.
RESETs were somewhat foreign to them, having no fallen child nor human puppet to teach them its cruelty, but together their INTENT was strong enough to overpower whatever force the universe used to keep it from them. Their strengths combined led to them ultimately RESETing the timeline again, and then again, and yet again, trying time after time after time to ether pacify the BEAST or keep him from coming to their city. When their attempts failed, Toriel urged the King to speak out to the people, to gain their HOPEs and their DREAMs in order to SAVE their home. He was hesitant, but once he began, his prophesies took wing and began bolstering the people’s courage. He began to make up visions of them winning and succeeding if they teamed together. He gave false HOPE to gain real hope attempting to gain the help of their people to offset the balance of the BEAST’s prophesy and speak their own false one into truth. They did what they could. Even their finest guardsmen joined in, and soon after the HOPE from their people filled them with enough DETERMINATION to SAVE over one of the BEAST’s files.
YET THEIR PLAN, THOUGH NOBLE...
HAD FAILED.
Years of RESETs after the first prophesy given by the BEAST, Asgore saw his vision realized for the final time. A bloody, dusty battlefield, a universe broken by fire and magic. His own body bruised and aching, begging to finish melting to join his beloved wife and son in their nearby graves. The BEAST had many SAVE files, many that overwrote his own. He could not fight him, not even with the HOPE of the world, of all man and monsterkind... if he could not defeat them... that meant, that truly...
IN THE END... THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO                                          BUT ACCEPT THEIR FATE.
“It’s a SHAME, Prophet,” the demon before him twirled the strange dagger-like weapon in his hand, “I almost enjoyed that endearing voice of yours, bellowing out to your people, haughty with false words of shallow encouragement. Ah, well...
“FAREWELL, O KING OF THE DAMNED!”
A light shone beyond the horizon, blinding the King for a moment. He was unsure what to do, what to say. There was nothing TO say, really. He had lost, and the False Prophet had won. He had been caught in his lies, and despite the goodness that flowed within them, he was now paying heavy-handedly for them.
Everyone had paid for them.
Did that make him the false one?
Clawed hand reaching towards the light on the horizon, the BEAST with his knife poised and ready, the king made one last wish:
I did as you said. I told them all the truth.  Please, whoever may hear... Reunite me with the ones lost. Give me back my family and let me find peace.
A memory filled his vision as he clasped his paw over the light. He was standing on the once-green field with his son, listening to the breeze blow through the willow tree while they picked flowers and sought out herbs for the King’s newest recipe.
Do you think the universe will ever end, Papa?
Mmm? What makes you ask?
Well... sometimes I get these feelings. Like things are gonna end soon, but I’m not afraid of them. Not anymore.
Why’s that, little one?
Well, they don’t scare me because there’s a Light there. I can see the Light, and it comforts me. Tells me Momma’s gonna be there on the other side to greet me. It says, all things must come to an end... but endings don’t have to be sad.
Oh my... quite a heavy topic for you to be dreamin’ about, don’t you think?
I dunno, is it? I always thought of things ending as sad or even scary, but this one doesn’t scare me too much. You’re there too! But you’re on the other side of the Light. I can still see you through the willow trees, but you’re hurt...
Hurt?
Yeah, like something really got you. It looks like you’re about to give up, but you can’t give up, okay? No matter what happens, we’re here cheering for you!
Asgore opened his good eye, a stream of tears leaking from both his good and bad eye. In the distance, beyond the BEAST, he can see the willow tree. It’s just in front of the Light, swaying in the breeze, completely unharmed by the desecration and fire surrounding it. He could hear his son’s voice almost as clearly as he could see the Light.
Find those who are Lost, and you’ll be set free! That’s what the universe is saying to me to say to you. And we’ll also be here! So you can never give up, okay, dad?
Okay, little one. I’ll stay strong.
“Just for you.”
The beast’s voice swelled in his one good ear, dragging him back to reality a split second before he struck:
“FAREWELL, O KING OF THE DAMNED!”
Without thinking, the lost king rolled out of the way and plunged his trident straight through the BEAST’s belly, causing him to stammer and stagger back. A SOUL flung out of his body, marred and mangled with what could only be other SOULs of the damned. It screamed in agony, but he didn’t seem to bother mimicking it. All the BEAST could do was stare at the vibrant red trident in his torso, aghast at the thought of being injured by such a weapon.
Disgusting, Asgore thought.  “Such a pitiful creature laid waste by an old washed up prophet king like me. For shame.”
The world beneath him began to hiss and rumble. The SOUL, now exposed, flared with power - a power that began to DEVOUR THE TIMELINE WHOLE. Greedily, as if it were some kind of starved creature. The floor beneath Asgore shattered, sending him falling through the floor of the universe. The creature that stood above him in the decaying world watched him fall with an expressionless face, prying the trident from his VESSEL like it was nothing. The SOUL near him him didn’t even thrum in pain as he did, eyes filled with violent RAGE at the sole escapee of the timeline he was now DEVOURING WHOLE with that cursed SOUL of his.
It is in this moment Asgore realized what he had done.
HE HAD SURVIVED AGAINST ALL ODDS.                HE HAD BROUGHT HIS OWN PROPHESY TO FRUITION.
THAT IS WHEN KING ASGORE DIED                                    AND THE LOST PROPHET                                                   WAS BORN.
                                                              ---
Lost Asgore now lives a life of solitude in the LONG LOST HOPE timeline, the oldest of the monsters there and the second one to have fallen into the timeline back before it was fully formed. Though rejuvenated from his suffering in some sense, he will never overcome the night terrors that still plague him, nor will he ever escape the claws of Fate that dig into his skull, prophesying visions of things untold and horrors yet to be wrought. The universe has taken him as a VOICE PIECE for its will, forcing him to command the rest of its ragtag bunch and keep them in line much like a king would do.
It is he who gives the rest of the LONG LOST RETRIBUTION cast their missions, whether it is for Undyne to act as HEROINE to one timeline, or Karma to go JUDGE and EXECUTE a Player’s SOUL. The universe speaks through him, and they through he. He is beloved by all, but his life as a Prophet is lonely and cold without the ones he loves by his side.
In his old age, he has resigned himself to a loveless life, instead finding himself content with the family he’s been gifted via the LLR cast, especially Damsel (Karmic Undyne), Karma (Karmic Sans), and Lost Toriel. He and Lost Toriel are not and never were lovers. They are simply friends, ones who understand the other’s plight and have worked at raising Toriel’s son Asriel as best as they can.
He still practices his healing magic, trains himself how to FIGHT if need be, and studies herbal medicine here and there, growing a fantastical and massive garden all across his home (and in other places in both main timelines). The king refuses to grow yellow flowers in honor of Asriel’s freedom and in hopes of preventing the Game from further tormenting the young prince whenever a Player’s game takes hold of the timeline.

Jesus is the Vine
Tumblr media
Isaiah 5:4 “What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes?”
I think the vine can be looked at in least two ways. The first is that in the Old Testament a vineyard was considered part of their culture. An owner with a vineyard was probably rich and had power. Over and over we see God talk about the vineyard through his prophets and within the Bible stories. Song of Solomon is riddled with grand imagery of the budding vineyard. Some depict it as sexual description while others have it describing Israel. Isaiah 5:7 says the vineyard is Israel. Clearly, pleasure, wealth, happiness and safely can be found within the vineyard theme of old.
The other side of this is the vine. Isaiah 36:17 “until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.” There it begins as Jesus saw himself as the bread of life, the vine, and new wine. Jerimiah 2 says God has given them a new vine. He painfully asks them why they have defiled it. I mean Jesus first miracle is turning water into wine. There is no question that Jesus tried hard to connect himself to a new vine. John 15:1 boldly states ““I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.”
John 2:10 ““Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” All through the Gospels are images of Jesus being the new Moses or the good shepherd. Here in John 2 Jesus does his first miracle and of course it’s wine from the fruit of the vine. The owner of the house says its better wine than he expected. Jesus is the better vine. He is the one that would produce something new for his people. All through the Old Testament were descriptions of destroyed vineyards because they did not follow God. It had been 400 years since the last prophet. The new vine (Jesus) has come to bring back prosperity and the vineyard. Within that would come wealth, safety, and happiness.
Yet, the story does not change. Jesus stands before them just as the prophets did hundreds of years before. He looked across the land and found it a plentiful of vines. They were full of wine and not full of God. It’s not like God had not warned them. In Isaiah 7:23 God says “It shall happen in that day, that wherever there could be a thousand vines Worth a thousand shekels of silver, it will be for briers and thorns.” Several times Gods people were taken captive. In Jesus day they were under Roman rule. The Israelites were clinging to the prophesy of hope like in Jerimiah 32:15 “For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.”
So, there stands Jesus looking at those same hills. Then he claims in John 15:5-6 “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.”
Any learned Jew would have got it. Jesus was claiming to be the same God that told them that if they wanted to keep their vineyards then they needed to return to God. Jesus claims to be the vine and He is proclaiming the same thing. He wants to protect the grapes. To guard the vineyard. He will trim the bad faith and allow good faith to grow abundantly. Years before, God gave them a choice and a warning. He even allowed the enemy to burn down the great vineyards. Jesus (as the vine) is taking it a whole lot further. Yes, Israel is still Gods vineyard. However, they must believe in the true vine. They must be grafted in with the gentiles. In a new twist, they can’t wallow in depravity and neglect their God as they did before. Jesus told them he would cut them off.
Jesus as the vine is crazy imagery. God is back and full of purpose. He had allowed his vines to grow wild. Now Jesus was sent to set things straight. Matthew 26:29 “Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” It’s so clear! Jesus is telling them all that he will have no part of the current vineyard called Israel. Instead he is growing a new vine and a new vineyard.
John 14:20 “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
This is it! Jesus is the vine because he is the main root to God the Father in heaven. All the spiritual nutrients to grow a spiritual life are found in him. If we are willing to be grafted into his vine then we will grow abundantly. Jesus talked about vines and soil. He talked about spiritual food. If we are to become the real children of God then we need God food. To be part of the God vine. Why? So, we can be like Jesus and thrive in the kingdom’s vineyard.
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Dear Calvinist anon, concerning the intrinsic worth of human beings
To be completely forthright and honest with you, your aggressive and vitriolic tone and words have put me off from posting it directly to my blog. I simply have no desire to host the bigotry and humanistic elitism thinly veiled by moral prejudice that your ask shows, whether or not it was intended. If you would kindly restate your position in a more compassionate, Christ-honoring manner, I will gladly discuss it with you. Meantime, please consider:
All humans are created in the image and likeness of God, which automatically and irrevocably assigns value and worth to them regardless of whether or not they are spiritually elect. (Genesis 1:27)
No one is righteous outside of the grace of God, including. you. and. I. (Romans 3:23)
Also, only God knows the state of anyone’s heart, and we all would do well to examine our own. (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
Therefore, it is not to us to judge or look down upon any other human being or their worth. (Matthew 7:1-2)
Again, examine yourself, and do not allow Christ’s amazing and unfathomable gift of mercy cause you to believe you are somehow better or more worthy of salvation than any other person. Lower your pride and stop seeking after discord. (Proverbs 11:2, Proverbs 6:16-19, Ephesians 2:8-9)
It is dangerous, extremely dangerous, and harmful to stand in a position where we can look at anyone and propose that they are not elect and are therefore worthless. You aren’t God, my friend. It is not your place. It is not mine. God alone knows in certainty who he predestines for Salvation, and heaven forbid we decide on our own who is worthy of our love, encouragement, and kindness. (1 Corinthians 10:12)
God does not create worthless things, or people without meaning and purpose. Even those who live the entirety of their lives in disobedience have meaning and purpose if you want to go so far as that. Ultimately, even they bring glory and honor to the Father.
What is our place is to follow the teachings of Christ, in love and in truth, and to seek the lost, as Christ called the Greatest Commandment in all the Law is this:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
So. Be. Kind.
Encourage one another.
Look beyond your own nose and your own suppositions and find what is of far greater value: sharing the love of Christ.
A man who is kind benefits himself,    but a cruel man hurts himself.
With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,    but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense,    but a man of understanding remains silent.
(Proverbs 11, various)
Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
(Hebrews 11:1-2)
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
(Hebrews 13:16)
We love because he first loved us.If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
(1 John 4:19-20)
My friend.
Always, always, always assume that God has a plan of redemption and hope and grace for every single human being you encounter in your life. Never, ever, ever presume to know better than God who is saved, or who is worthy of saving, or who is unredeemable.
Now. Rather than leaving your opinion on the worthlessness of others in someone’s Tumblr messages, go and live a life that reflects the love and compassion and proactive ministry of Christ, to whom all honor and obedience and reference is due.
He loved the least of these.
He encouraged them.
He welcomed them.
He loved.
How. Dare. Any of us believe we should somehow not do the same:
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13)
Go in kindness, my friend.
Go in love.
Encourage others, most especially those whose knowledge of saving grace is not apparently at hand. They are who need your compassion the most.
Teach that worth is indeed found in Christ. Teach that a Creator designed his creation with a purpose. Bring the hope and beauty and freedom of the Gospel to each and every person, and live in a way that your actions and manner are above reproach.

Fearful No More
Tumblr media
We are now living in the year 2020. Many predicted bad things that will happen this year. They prophesied  about  the outbreak of World War 3 and 2020 could be the year it will finally happens. Upon hearing  the news about  the  tensions in the Middle East are high after US President Donald Trump ordered a missile strike on Iran’s Major General Qassem Soleimani on January 3, the fatal helicopter crash that killed the NBA superstar Kobe Bryant and the  current outbreak of coronavirus disease that is  spreading quickly across parts of Asia specially in China. Are we going to conclude that their prophesies are real ? Did you feel mentally drained and emotionally burned out ?
Hearing those bad reports leave us fearful and hopeless. And then we will ask ourselves: “ Is God punishing us because of our sin”?
We cant close our eyes to the reality of the things happening to us . But its not right to let those circumstance define us or even our final destiny. There’s a hope- an expectation of good things coming.
Its not true that God is punishing people with sicknesses, calamity, tragedy , drought, poverty and etc . because of their sins or wrong deeds. God is a good God and its impossible for him to do bad. He is not the author of any bad things happening to us.
Where does those bad or evil things come from then? Just put d in front of evil and you’ll get your answer. Evil things comes from the devil. The bible says that the devil comes to steal, kill and to destroy  (John 10:10). We live in the fallen world  that started when Adam and Eve sinned against God . His original plan is to create a place (Earth) that will serve as the extension of heaven where people can experience his love and the glory of his presence. But the devil deceived the man and make them sin against God . Since then, man live separated form God.  But God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but will have an everlasting life (John 3:16 ).
For every bad reports that we hear, there is a good news that we need to know. Jesus and his finished work is the good news. Two thousand years ago when God demonstrated his love for us when He gave his only begotten Son  Jesus Christ . He died at the cross as a payment for the humanity’s sin. He died yet he rose again. Man now are forgiven whenever they accept Jesus as there Lord and Savior. And God promised that He will protect whoever trust in Him (Psalms 91:1-16).
Im thankful for the abundance of God’s grace in my life . I cannot deny the fact that I’m experiencing failures, rejections, condemnations, and trials. But one thing I know for sure- the most powerful being in the universe loves me. Whether I succeed or fail in this life, knowing the truth that I’m loved, saved and redeemed by God makes me so grateful – and that makes all the difference.

masha-russia(.)tumblr(.)com/post/106925435839/daenerys-is-azor-ahaiprince-that-was-promised What do you think of this?
oh god
the old gods save me
a) last time I interacted with that person she was arguing theon deserved getting castrated and tyrion would have deserved it too because she appreciated *sexual purity* in people and all the while she liked tywin. k. I mean I don’t hold that user’s opinion in very high regards
b) I had an entire meta post about why jon was AA wait a moment let me find it and see if I can c/p it
AH OKAY HERE IT IS I’m putting it on the side
grrm usually does a thing which is, ‘when he TELLS YOU SOMETHING REALLY REALLY HARD AND MENTIONS IT ALL THE TIME that thing usually doesn’t happen’.
case: every death not on page and everything cersei says. affc: OH HEY DAVOS IS DEAD HIS HEAD IS HUNG OUTSIDE MANDERLY’S CASTLE adwd: hey bro we killed someone else in your place you’re going to find rickon byadwd: hey mance is dead!jon: …. I’m not sure it’s himadwd: SURPRISE IT WASN’T HIM ACTUALLY!cersei: I’M SURE THIS THIS AND THIS HAPPEN BECAUSE I SAY SOactual reality: all the contrary happensarya: well I left sandor dying on the road he’s definitely a gonermonk on the quiet island: I AM STILL ALIVEarya: sometimes I still hear his voice& so on.
now, never mind tyrion’s sage advice about prophecies (Prophecy is like a half-trained mule. It looks as though it might be useful, but the moment you trust in it, it kicks you in the head). What we have in the text is dany seeing R and elia and the following dialogue happens:
“Aegon. What better name for a king… He is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire”; “There must be one more. The dragon has three heads.”
AA prophecy:
There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him
+
When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone.
+ tpwp prophecy as melisandre & others put it
You are he who must stand against the Other. The one whose coming was prophesied five thousand years ago. The red comet was your herald. You are the prince that was promised, and if you fail the worldfails with you.
+
Born amidst salt and smoke, beneath a bleeding star. I know the prophecy. Not that I would trust it.
+
Stannis Baratheon is Azor Ahai come again, the warrior of fire. In him the prophecies are fulfilled. The red comet blazed across the sky to herald his coming, and he bears Lightbringer, the red sword of heroes.
now, either you think that AA is a red herring and tptwp is the real deal or you think tptwp = AA, the prophecies say exactly the same shit about either, so it’s a lot more likely that AA is tptwp and/or viceversa, or that AA is a red herring but tptwp is not. that stated, in order:
prophecies can’t be trusted 100% and no one interprets them well, which is what tyrion’s implying and what everyone does in these books since until now no one’s ever manage to understand one correctly
if GRRM tells you that someone is SOMETHING without immediate proof/verification, he’s most probably lying or red herring you around
R has elements from which he could deduce that if he didn’t have three children for three dragons the long night would come, which was why he started getting ready for it and was that bent on having three children. now, what is he saying in that vision? that AEGON is tptwp. now, as per above, if R thinks aegon is tptwp he’s definitely wrong because aegon is not and whether the one with jonc is fake or not (I think not) he is not AA or twptw. one out. rhaenys is dead, regardless. and what was R’s deal? getting the third head of the dragon in the world… for which he started a civil war. ops. let’s leave it one moment. anyway, R’s prophecy says for sure three things: the apocalypse is coming, you’ll need three dragons to stop it with three riders who should all be targs, and one of his children is AA/tptwp.
obviously, we could say that dany works anyway because she’s a targ so maybe R’s prophecy was wrong. which is most probably half true, because dany’s of course one of the heads of the dragon. but, she isn’t tptwp. why?
because she’s already been brought up by the narrative and everyone that the narrative explicitly brought up is NOT for now tptwp. it’s not aegon. it’s not stannis. and since in affc grrm took the time to put his red herring around with the language question and so on… sorry but it’s not dany. if she was dany, no one would have brought her up as an option, because that’s… not how the narrative works. like, literally, in asoiaf I’ve never seen anything that explicitly stated (that wasn’t dany owning dragons obv but that was the established plot point from the beginning) actually become a thing. you get hints. you get parallels you can theorize on. but like, if the narrative tells you davos dies offscreen davos doesn’t die offscreen, if cersei thinks marge is the younger and beautiful queen she’s wrong and if aemon thinks tptw is dany, she’s not. it’s a red herring. why?
interlude: there’s a thing named occam’s razor which basically says the simplest explanation is the most likely and if your theory needs to be extra elaborate to work, it’s probably not true.
if we follow occam’s razor (which a lot of narrative does because the more convoluted is a theory the least likely is the reader to buy it), we know: that tptwp has to be a thing, that he/she is related to rhaegar and should be one of his children, that he/she has to die among smoke and salt and blah blah blah and that prophecies are half-trained mules and that in order to have three kids R started a civil war, so that third kid must be damned important, and that it’s not R’s second child because R thought he was, and that it can’t be the first since he’s dead.
now: who is actually R’s offspring which has not been mentioned openly in the book until now, who has never ever ever brought up by the narrative itself as a possible AA/ptwp candidate, who has showed up in melisandre’s flames when she asked to see AA thinking she’d see stannis, and, most important, whose canonical death PERFECTLY matches the AA prophecy if you don’t interpret it literally?
The dead man was Ser Patrek of King’s Mountain; his head was largely gone, but his heraldry was as distinctive as his face. [from awoiaf: Patrek is clean-shaven and windburnt. His knightly raiment are of white and blue and silver, his cloak a spatter of five-pointed stars.] Jon did not want to risk Ser Malegorn or Ser Brus or any of the queen’s other knights trying to avenge him.
Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun howled again and gave Ser Patrek’s other arm a twist and pull. It tore loose from his shoulder with a spray of bright red blood. Like a child pulling petals off a daisy, thought Jon. “Leathers, talk to him, calm him. The Old Tongue, he understands the Old Tongue. Keep back, the rest of you. Put away your steel, we’re scaring him.”
Couldn’t they see the giant had been cut? Jon had to put an end to this or more men would die. They had no idea of Wun Wun’s strength. A horn, I need a horn. He saw the glint of steel, turned toward it. “No blades! ” he screamed. “Wick, put that knife …”
… away, he meant to say. When Wick Whittlestick slashed at his throat, the word turned into a grunt. Jon twisted from the knife, just enough so it barely grazed his skin. He cut me. When he put his hand to the side of his neck, blood welled between his fingers. “Why? ”
“For the Watch.” Wick slashed at him again. This time Jon caught his wrist and bent his arm back until he dropped the dagger. The gangling steward backed away, his hands upraised as if to say, Not me, it was not me. Men were screaming. Jon reached for Longclaw, but his fingers had grown stiff and clumsy. Somehow he could not seem to get the sword free of its scabbard.
Then Bowen Marsh stood there before him, tears running down his cheeks. [NOTE: tears are made of… salt…] “For the Watch.” He punched Jon in the belly. When he pulled his hand away, the dagger stayed where he had buried it.
Jon fell to his knees. He found the dagger’s hilt and wrenched it free. In the cold night air the wound was smoking. “Ghost,” he whispered. Pain washed over him. Stick them with the pointy end. When the third dagger took him between the shoulder blades, he gave a grunt and fell face-first into the snow. He never felt the fourth knife. Only the cold…
… and, who has the show confirmed as being r+l?
guys.
it’s jon.
it’s always been jon and it’s always going to be jon on his own. dany will be important af, whoever else rides the third dragon is gonna be hella important (I have a theory which is probably wrong but whatever grrm will have to pry it from me), but tptwp/AA is jon. and R said ‘his is the song of ice and fire’, not ‘the song of ice and fire is for tptwp and AA’. like. it seems fairly obvious textually to me that there’s no way it’s anyone but jon snow, who by the way in theory has had his nissa nissa moment with ygritte if you take it sorta literally and in a lot other ways if you take it very imaginatively.
you’re totally welcome to think it’s both of them, but according to me it’s just him, never mind that dany is all targ, he is half stark and half targ…. so…. ice and fire. like. it’s so trasparent I just can’t think that there has to be something even more complicated to it. *shrug*
GUYS.
guys.
if AA is a red herring or not, or whether AA = tptwp….
it
is
jon
snow
like he died, he came back to life, he’s rhaegar’s son, it’s confirmed, it’s

The Origins of the Appellation “the Lamb of God”
Tumblr media
By Wuyan
It is recorded in the Bible, “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin” (Rom 8:3).
From these verses we know that, in order to redeem us mankind from sin, the Lord Jesus was nailed to the cross as mankind’s eternal sin offering. And since then, we all call Him the redeeming Lamb. But do you know the profound meaning behind this appellation?
To figure out this question, we should first know what sin offering means. Let’s look at Leviticus 4:27-31, “And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he does somewhat against any of the commandments of Jehovah concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty; Or if his sin, which he has sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has sinned. And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering. And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar. And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet smell to Jehovah; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him,” and Leviticus 16:30-31, “For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before Jehovah. It shall be a sabbath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.”
After the Israelites got out of Egypt, Jehovah God set forth laws through Moses for them to obey, and in this way led them to live on earth. Whoever could abide by these laws would gain God’s blessings. However, because of man’s corrupt nature, they were unable to uphold the law and thus faced the danger of being stoned to death. Only if they made sin offerings could they expiate their sins and avoid being condemned and sentenced to death by the laws. Anyone familiar with the Old Testament knows that in the Age of Law the tenth day of the seventh month was the day of atonement for the Israelites every year. At that feast, all the people had to offer the firstborn cattle and sheep without blemish upon the altar as sin offerings, in order that their uncleanness and transgressions in the year could be purified. From this we can see, in the Age of Law Jehovah God used the blood of cattle and sheep as the evidence of His cleansing man’s sins. Through the sin offerings they made, people at that time would no longer be condemned by the laws and instead were qualified to come before Jehovah God, praying to Him for His blessings and care.
However, at the end of the Age of Law, the people of Israel were increasingly unable to keep the laws and they committed more and more sins, to the extent that Jehovah God’s laws could no longer achieve the desired results in them. The Holy Spirit detested them because their hearts had become depraved without the slightest reverence toward God. In Isaiah 1:11-15, God said through the prophet Isaiah, “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to me? said Jehovah: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination to me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates: they are a trouble to me; I am weary to bear them. And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.”
From these verses we can see, the corruption of people at that time had reached a certain point, for which Jehovah God was angry with them and rebuked them. According to God’s righteousness, if they went on like this, they would die by God’s curses, and then the creation of humanity would have been for naught. At that time, the people of Israel were full of sins and lived amid sin from which they could not free themselves. So they earnestly prayed and cried out to God. Then God granted them a promise, a promise that the Israelites could receive an eternal sin offering. Therefore, because of the needs of corrupt mankind and also according to His management plan, God was incarnated among man as the redeeming Lamb to take on their sins and relieve them from the curses of the law. God long ago prophesied through the prophet Isaiah, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opens not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he has poured out his soul to death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors” (Isa 53:6-12).
When God incarnate came to work, John the Baptist bore witness that the Lord Jesus was the redeeming Lamb, just as it says in John 1:29, “Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.”
The Lord Jesus worked among man for three and a half years, during which time He healed the sick, cast out demons, performed miracles and wonders, and bestowed rich blessings upon mankind; He tolerated and forgave man, and in the end was crucified as the sin offering for mankind; He completed the work of redeeming mankind. It can be seen from the work of the Lord Jesus that, He saved those who lived under the law, and satisfied their wish of receiving an offering sufficient to atone for their sins. After His crucifixion, man no longer needed to make sin offerings and had only to accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior for their sins to be forgiven. In this way, the sins of man were no longer a barrier to his coming before God and were no longer the leverage by which Satan accused man. Because of this, the people of Israel, who had been living under the law, could walk away from the laws and were qualified to come before the Lord Jesus, praying for His pardon and grace, and thus mankind could continue to exist and have developed until this day. From all of this, we can appreciate that there is profound significance behind the Lord Jesus being called the redeeming Lamb.
God’s words say, “In order to complete His work and rescue humanity from misery, He had to be condemned by man, and bear the sins of all mankind. The extent of the suffering He went through cannot possibly be fathomed or appreciated by ordinary people. What does this suffering represent? It represents God’s devotion to humankind. It stands for the humiliation He suffered and the price He paid for man’s salvation, to redeem their sins, and to complete this stage of His work. It also means man would be redeemed from the cross by God. This is a price paid in blood, in life, a price created beings cannot afford.”
“Even though He Himself knew that the responsibility He needed to take on in the flesh was so immense, and how cruel the pain He would face would be, when He saw mankind helpless in sin, when He saw the wretchedness of their lives and their feeble struggles under the law, He felt more and more grief, and became more and more anxious to save mankind from sin. No matter what kind of difficulties He would face or what kind of pain He would suffer, He became more and more resolute to redeem mankind living in sin. During this process, you could say that the Lord Jesus began to understand more and more clearly the work He needed to do and what He had been entrusted with. He also became increasingly eager to complete the work He was to take on—to take on all of mankind’s sins, to atone for mankind so that they no longer lived in sin and God would be able to forget man’s sins because of the sin offering, allowing Him to further His work of saving mankind. It could be said that in the Lord Jesus’ heart, He was willing to offer Himself up for mankind, to sacrifice Himself. He was also willing to act as a sin offering, to be nailed to the cross, and He was eager to complete this work. When He saw the miserable conditions of human’s lives, He wanted even more to fulfill His mission as quickly as possible, without the delay of a single minute or second. When He had such a feeling of urgency, He was not thinking of how great His own pain would be, nor did He think any longer of how much humiliation He would have to endure—He held just one conviction in His heart: As long as He offered up Himself, as long as He was nailed to the cross as a sin offering, God’s will would be carried out and He would be able to commence new work. Mankind’s lives in sin, their state of existing in sin would be completely changed. His conviction and what He was determined to do were related to saving man, and He had only one objective: to do God’s will, so that He could successfully begin the next stage in His work.”
From these two passages of words, we can even more feel God’s true love for us mankind. The supreme God, the Creator and Master of heavens and earth and all things, became an ordinary and normal person, humbly hidden in the flesh. He had to take on work an ordinary person cannot handle, while also endure suffering that ordinary people cannot withstand. From when the Lord Jesus officially began fulfilling His ministry to the time of His being crucified, He suffered humiliation and pain in the extreme and endured the rejection and condemnation of corrupt mankind. God is holy, yet He had to live together with filthy and corrupt mankind—the suffering He endured was too great! The Lord Jesus clearly knew that the path of the cross was fraught with hardships and that He would suffer great pain both physically and spiritually. But for the sake of redeeming all mankind, He willingly offered Himself up as a sin offering and was nailed to the cross for mankind. From the redemption work of the Lord Jesus, we can come to a better understanding of the appellation “the redeeming Lamb.” Besides, the Lord Jesus’ love for mankind is not only that He redeemed mankind from sin as a sin offering, but also that He will come again in the last days to bestow upon people more truths and do the work of judgment and chastisement, through which He will completely rid us of our sins and release us from the bondage of sin. The Bible says, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come” (Jhn 16:12-13). “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Pe 4:17). “Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Pe 1:5). From this we can see that the Lord Jesus has prepared a greater salvation for us in the last days, which is that He will come back to continue the work of saving man, expressing the truth to thoroughly save us from corruption. This is because though we have been redeemed by the Lord Jesus and had our sins absolved, our sinful nature still remains and we are still slaves to the cycle of sinning in the daytime and confessing them at night. Therefore, when the Lord Jesus comes back, He will continue saving us. Isn’t God’s love for us too great and deep?
Dear brothers and sisters, I’m sure that through such communication, we have all understood why we call the Lord Jesus the redeeming Lamb as well as the significance behind this appellation. I believe every one of you, just like me, is looking forward to the Lord’s returning to fully save us from the degenerate life of sinning by day and confessing by night, so that we can be thoroughly cleansed and changed and enter into the kingdom of heaven with God.

NEW- I’m sitting here on Saturday [9-2-17] reviewing this teaching video I made last week.
It’s funny in a way- because I made this video on a day where I made lots of other ones https://ccoutreach87.com/2017/08/25/thursday-night/ .
Yes- this was the day I wound up walking from Rockport to Corpus.
On the video I talked about Paul’s travels- Port cities- etc.
Yes- I walked thru Port cities later in the day. And of course I did teach this chapter on the video as well. I’ll add my past teaching below.
 Few notes-
The famous port of Tyre was conquered by Alexander the Great a few hundred years before Paul passed thru.
We also read of Agabus- the strange prophet who used signs- parables- as God spoke thru him [Grabbing Paul’s belt in this chapter].
We also saw him earlier in this study- prophesying of a famine to come [Acts 11: 27-28].
And I mentioned the Nazarite vow- which Paul joined himself to some brothers in this chapter- I think he sort of compromised-
The vow is found in Numbers 6:1-21.
The main issue in this chapter is Paul’s message of grace.
James- the lead elder at the Jerusalem church- had many believers in the congregation who also kept [tried to] the law.
These were the judaizers who went behind Paul's back and taught the gentile converts that they too had to keep the law in order to be saved.
We read about this issue earlier in Acts [chapters 12-15].
At this stage Paul gained a reputation among these Jewish law keepers as being against Moses and the customs.
So when Paul showed up at Jerusalem James got him to compromise- by having Paul join into the Nazarite vow- sort of saying ‘see- I too keep the customs of the law’.
So the issue is about grace and faith- and the uprising against Paul- came from those Jewish believers- who quote ‘kept the law’- more below.

ACTS 21- Paul goes to Tyre and the saints prophesy for him not to go to Jerusalem. He makes it to Caesarea and Phillip has 4 daughters who also prophesy. Agabus shows up, he is a prophet, and he takes Paul's garment and does one of those weird prophetic actions and wraps it around him and says ‘the Lord says whoever owns this garment will be bound like this at Jerusalem’. A few things, many good men teach that the word for ‘Prophecy’ [to prophesy] is simple preaching. Now, true simple preaching of the gospel is a function of the prophetic. Paul says in Corinthians that whoever says the name of Jesus is speaking mysteries that only the Spirit knows. So preaching does fall into this category. But a simple reading of the text shows you that Agabus, who functioned in the office of a Prophet, was doing more than simple preaching. There obviously was a predictive element to what he did. Agabus is an ‘ascension gift Prophet’. In Ephesians Paul teaches that after Jesus ascended he gave gifts unto men. Some of these gifts are Prophets. Why would Jesus establish an entire class of New Testament Prophets, and take them away as soon as the New Testament was complete? Now Paul makes it to Jerusalem despite the warnings. Right away James and the Elders call him to a meeting. They rejoice over all the Lord is doing with Paul’s gentile outreach, but they tell him ‘look, we have many Jews. They are all believing in Messiah, and they all keep the law’. There is a fundamental rift between James and Paul. Most preachers do not say or admit this, they feel to admit it would violate the Canon of scripture. First, read my commentary on Hebrews 11 on this site. Second, I believe we are simply seeing the historic development of truth as we progress thru Acts. Peter, James and Paul [later we read Johns epistles] never contradict each other as far as the overall message of the Cross is concerned. But God does allow us to peer into the different insights that these key 1st century elders were seeing. So James might really be seeing things from a different vantage point than Paul. Paul might not fully see James reasoning. They are both being used of God, their writings will harmonize. But they don’t necessarily see it yet! James pressures Paul to take a vow with some brothers to basically show he isn’t teaching Jews against the law. Paul does it. The city finds out Paul is in town and they drag him out of the Temple and they beat the guy! The local police come and rescue Paul. As he is being carried away he speaks Greek to the soldiers, they are surprised he speaks Greek. He then addresses the Jews and speaks Hebrew. Paul used positioning and all the influence he had in any area [even language] to make his point. In the next chapter we will read his defense. I want to close with us seeing that Paul was being accused of teaching Jews against Moses and the law and Temple. Was he? Actually as Paul’s understanding of the gospel of grace increases, he does teach this. If you believe Paul wrote Hebrews [the letter] then you see it there. But Paul initially was only preaching grace to the gentiles. James even says ‘show the people that the rumors about you are wrong, show them that you too are keeping the law like all Jews’ and basically Paul gives in by agreeing to join in the vow with the brothers. Some times we read Acts [as well as the bible] as if it were a single book written at one sitting. When you do it like this you don’t leave room for the development and growth of the characters themselves. God is allowing Peter to preach in a more limited way in the first few chapters, after Peter hears from Stephen and Paul he seems to leave more room for believing and being justified. He is learning and growing as the story progresses. The same with James. His epistle is obviously a different view point from Paul. Do they contradict? No. But some commentators do not honestly look at the different angles. James will actually say ‘see how a man is justified by his works, and not faith only’. Now, he does say ‘faith without works is dead’. And many good teachers say ‘all James was saying was you need active faith at the time of conversion’ [James isn’t speaking about the ‘time of conversion’!] Well actually , he was saying more. Was he teaching justification by works? No, at least not in the way most theologians see ‘justification’. But James was seeing justification thru the lens of the future result of the believer actually becoming just! [What some believers call sanctification] He was seeing the Genesis 22 justification of Abraham offering Isaac, not the Genesis 15 account that Paul emphasizes. So James is teaching ‘justification by works’ that is, Gods grace that legally justified you when you believed, actually changes you to the point where you do good works, and at that point God continues to say ‘good job son-  you are doing what’s right’ [another word for doing what’s just/right- justification!] Now, I can’t explain the whole thing here, the point is James is dealing with Jewish believers and he is seeing things from a different timeline than Paul. The strife between the early Jewish believers and Paul is intense. Ultimately the Temple will be destroyed and the future of the Christian church will be shaped by Paul’s theology. James writes a great letter! But Paul will carry the day. NOTE- I see James saying ‘see how a man is justified by works’ meaning the future act of God being pleased with the changed life of the believer. We see ‘see how a man is justified by works’ and try to make that fit ‘see how a man is initially saved/born again’ but James, in my view, is not speaking of the initial act of justification [which is solely by faith] when he says ‘see how a man is justified by works, and not by faith only’ James is working on a different timeline!
  VERSES-
Acts 21:1 And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
Acts 21:2 And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.
Acts 21:3 Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
Acts 21:4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
Acts 21:5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
Acts 21:6 And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
Acts 21:7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
Acts 21:8 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.
Acts 21:9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
Acts 21:10 And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
Acts 21:11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
Acts 21:12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
Acts 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 21:14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
Acts 21:15 And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
Acts 21:16 There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
Acts 21:17 And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
Acts 21:18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
Acts 21:19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
Acts 21:20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
Acts 21:21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
Acts 21:22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
Acts 21:23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
Acts 21:24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
Acts 21:25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
Acts 21:26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
Acts 21:27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
Acts 21:28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
Acts 21:29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
Acts 21:30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
Acts 21:31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
Acts 21:32 Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
Acts 21:33 Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
Acts 21:34 And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
Acts 21:35 And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
Acts 21:36 For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
Acts 21:37 And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
Acts 21:38 Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
Acts 21:39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
Acts 21:40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

True Meaning of the Sixth of 7 Last Words of Jesus on the Cross “It Is Finished”
By Qianhe
Tumblr media
Every Christian knows that the Lord Jesus said, “It is finished” when He was upon the cross, but what did He actually mean by saying “It is finished”? Some brothers and sisters believe that the Lord saying “It is finished” proves that God’s work to save mankind was completely finished and that He would no longer perform any work of salvation; there are also some brothers and sisters who say that, by saying these words, the Lord Jesus meant only that His great work of redemption was finished, and not that God would no longer perform any work of salvation after that … Today, let’s discuss together what the true meaning of the words “It is finished” spoken by the Lord Jesus actually is.
As we all know, at the end of the Age of Law, because mankind was becoming more and more corrupted by Satan and was unable to keep the law, they were all in danger of being put to death by the law. In order to redeem man from sin, the Lord Jesus became flesh, He healed the sick and cast out demons and He bestowed on man endless grace. Ultimately, He was crucified for man’s sake, He gave His holy flesh as a sin offering, and He redeemed man from sin. After that, as long as we believed in the Lord and confessed our sins to Him, then our sins could be forgiven, and we could enjoy the grace the Lord bestowed on us. Mankind was also no longer to be put to death by the law, and we were able to live on. This is the true meaning of the Lord Jesus’ words when He said, “It is finished.”
What is undeniable, however, is that, although we have accepted the Lord Jesus’ salvation and our sins have been forgiven, our sinful nature still exists and we continue to live in a repeated cycle of sinning in the daytime and confessing at night, totally incapable of casting off the bonds of sin. For example, we often tell lies and commit sins, we have greedy desires and wicked thoughts, we can be jealous of others and can hate others, our hearts are filled with arrogance, deceit and deception, and we are even capable of following worldly trends, lusting for riches and coveting vanity, and when we encounter trials and tribulations, we even blame God, and so on. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). “Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). The Lord Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the son stays ever” (John 8:34–35). God says, “You must know what kind of people I desire; those who are impure are not permitted to enter into the kingdom, those who are impure are not permitted to besmirch the holy ground. Though you may have done much work, and have worked for many years, in the end if you are still deplorably filthy—it is intolerable to the law of Heaven that you wish to enter My kingdom! From the foundation of the world until today, never have I offered easy access to My kingdom to those who curry favor with Me. This is a heavenly rule, and no one can break it!” God is holy and His disposition is righteous, and His kingdom permits no filthy people to enter. If we have only had our sins forgiven, if our inner sinful nature has not been uprooted, and we are still capable of committing sins and resisting God, then we will be unqualified to meet face to face with God or to enter into His kingdom—this is decided by God’s righteous disposition.
In the beginning, the mankind whom God created were unsullied. They lived in the Garden of Eden, they heeded God’s words and they worshiped God. Later, Adam and Eve were deceived by the serpent and ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and thus they were corrupted by Satan. In order to save man from the domain of Satan and to enable man to detach themselves from sin and be purified, God began His plan to save mankind and began to work to save man, one stage at a time. For example, God proclaimed the law through Moses and He guided man in their lives on earth, so that they would know what sin was and how to make offerings; later, once again according to the needs of corrupt mankind, God began the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus became flesh, He gave to man the way of repentance, and He was then crucified for man’s sake, thereby redeeming man from sin. And yet our sinful nature continues to exist, and we carry on living in a cycle of sinning and confessing, powerless to escape. We have not been purified, we are unworthy to enter into God’s kingdom, and we still need God to perform a further stage of salvation.
The Lord Jesus prophesied, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come” (John 16:12–13). “And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and receives not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47–48). The Bible predicted, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). From these prophecies, we can see clearly that, when the Lord returns in the last days, He shall express the truth and perform the work of judgment beginning in God’s house. That is, He shall come to thoroughly cleanse man and save man; He shall uproot the sin within man and enable man to cast off sin and be purified, so that we may attain true salvation and enter into God’s kingdom. Only then will all the work of God’s management plan be finished. This precisely fulfills the prophecy in the Book of Revelation: “It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:6–8). In the end, God will lead into His kingdom all those who have undergone judgment and chastisement and who have cast off sin and attained purification, and they shall enjoy eternal blessings from God. Those who have not been purified by God’s work of judgment, however, who are still utterly filthy and corrupt, who are still filled with the corrupt dispositions of Satan and are capable of resisting God, will be weeded out and destroyed and cast into the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. Only then will the words “It is done” be fulfilled.
God is the Lord of creation and His wisdom surpasses the heavens, so how can we human beings fathom His work? Faced with God’s work, what we as created beings should do is accept and obey it. In those early days, because the Pharisees clung to their own misconceptions and refused to accept the Lord Jesus’ work, they ended up losing their chance to be redeemed by God. Now, if we continue to rely on our misconceptions and imaginings, and we believe that, by saying “It is finished,” the Lord Jesus meant that God’s salvation work was completely finished and that we don’t need to accept God’s work of judgment beginning in God’s house in the last days, then we will be following in the footsteps of the Pharisees. We won’t then be able to welcome the Lord’s return, we will totally lose out on God’s salvation in the last days, and we will be weeded out and abandoned. The Lord Jesus once said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). The Lord is faithful and righteous, and He does not favor anyone; He bestows His blessings on those who seek with an open mind and who focus on listening to His voice. Only by not clinging to our own misconceptions concerning things we don’t understand and by praying and seeking more can we obtain the Lord’s enlightenment and guidance, and we can then welcome the second coming of the Lord.

Awakening, Part 4
"It will depend on Duty, you know.
If the Captain lacks the courage to perform his duty, they won't even escape the mindslavers"
-Spoken by B001, three hours before she ceased.
-Recorded at 1732, 75 years prior.
Skye turned as Rosalind stepped to the floor. "Isn't it amazing?" she asked. "No one's ever traveled to another planet, let along another solar system."
"Someone had to have." Rosalind pointed out, gesturing to the walls around them. "How else would all this get here?"
"Maybe it was put here by magic!" Jane suggested.
"Magic doesn't exist." Skye said.
"Magic doesn't exist?" Rosalind asked incredulously. "We just teleported with a book."
"Just unexplained science." Skye said, crossing her arms. "Back in the Dark Ages, you'd be burned for witchcraft by turning on a flashlight. This is no different."
Hound barked, then sprinted down the corridor. "Wait for me!" Batty called, following him.
"Batty!" Rosalind called. "Don't run ahead…" Batty had already vanished around a corner. Rosalind sprinted after her.
Skye sighed, then she and Jane followed. As they turned the corner, Skye drew up, nearly colliding with Rosalind. Her sister was standing in a doorway, looking at the far wall in astonishment. "You know what you said before?" Rosalind asked. "How everything has some sort of scientific explanation?"
"What?" Skye demanded, trying to look over Rosalind's shoulder. "What's so… oh."
The far wall was covered in a mural depicting four girls of various ages. Three of the girls had curly brown hair, and the other's hair was long and blonde. A large shaggy dog sat by the shortest figure, who was busy petting him.
"Woof" Hound said, as Batty stroked his fur.
"This is going to be hard to explain." Rosalind said.
Skye pushed past Rosalind and approached the painting. "It could be a coincidence..." she said doubtfully. "But I'll admit, that seems pretty unlikely."
"Maybe the book explains" Jane suggested.
"Book?" Rosalind asked, confused.
"Down there!" Jane said, pointing. "Below the painting!"
Sure enough, a small book was lying on a small shelf, next to a strange red handle. The book's binding was black, and both the cover and spine were unmarked.
"Maybe that's another teleport book?" Skye suggested
Rosalind picked up the book and opened the front cover. Unlike the previous two books, there was no moving image on the first page. "Not a teleporter." she remarked, then looked closer. Instead, lines of careful script covered the page, with dates above each paragraph. "It looks like someone's diary."
"What does it say?" Batty asked eagerly.
"Yeah, read it out loud!" Skye said.
Rosalind sat down, her back to the painting. Her sisters settled themselves in a semicircle around her, with Hound curled between Batty and Jane. Rosalind took a deep breath, then began to read.
- Arrived in Juncture today. Sealed the linking chamber to D'ni, hopefully that will hold the Sickness back. Merciful Grower, how many died today? How could anyone imagine this, even a madman? We have six months of supplies, which should allow us to wait for rescue, if there's any rescue to come. If not… well, we've got linking books to five mostly unexplored Ages, one of them may be untouched by the plague.
-During the evacuation from the Sickness, Ania collapsed, apparently caught up in a premonition. Our family always has had a knack for the Sight, but we've never heard of it appearing in someone so young. She hasn't said much about what she saw, but in this troubled time, perhaps it will help us to halt this devastation
- Ania gathered us today, and explained her vision in detail. There is no possible way for us to cure the Sickness, but we may yet be able to preserve our civilization from total collapse. I don't know what's so important about my invention, but Ania has assured us that it will be critical in ensuring the survival of the D'ni. Construction has begun on this new project, which we have christened the "Horizon".
- In spite of our best efforts, it's apparent that the Sickness has followed us. We've got limited medical supplies, but they won't be able to do anything more than slow its progression. Instead of six months, we'll be lucky to survive a couple of weeks. Father's put us on double shifts in the meantime, trying to outrace it.
- Ania has fallen ill. We're giving her the best treatment we can provide at this time, but what good is that, without a cure for the disease? We've put everything we have into her prophesy, and I don't know how we'll continue without the prophet.
- Work is going smoothly. I finished assembling the Link drive this afternoon, and the weapon systems are being installed as I write. I don't know why the Horizon would need weapons, considering the circumstances of interage travel, but Ania has insisted that they are necessary. Ania herself spent the day painting a mural on the linking chamber walls. I asked her it's supposed to help save the D'ni, but she just pointed at her painting and said the blonde girl thinks she's crazy.
- Ania has taken a turn for the worse. She tossed and turned all night, muttering nonsense and talking to imaginary people. Father told me to record what I could understand, in case they were prophetic.
"Woven Magic"
"The Sun, the Moon, the Bow, and the Dragon"
"Stranger's Blood."
Rosalind paused, then looked up. "It goes on for another three pages with this sort of stuff. Do you want me to read it all, or should I skip ahead?"
"Skip ahead." Batty said
"Please" Skye agreed.
- Ania died this morning. Jane let out a small gasp of horror, and Batty buried her face into Hound's side. Before she died, Ania spoke to me in private. She knew that we wouldn't live to make the journey. The survival of our people will depend on others, strangers who will someday find this world, and complete the journey we prepared for. I thought that I was keeping this journal for myself, but it appears that the burden of our people will rest on my poor retelling. We are few in number, and those who still survive will soon be dead from the sickness. We have placed the station into hibernation to await these travelers.
To whoever is reading this, you must reawaken this world from its slumber. The future of both our people and yours depend on it.
Rosalind stopped reading and closed the book. "That's the last entry. All the pages afterwards are blank."
A tear rolled down Jane's face. "None of them made it."
"They'd probably be dead by now anyway" Skye remarked. "That statue hadn't been opened in decades."
Rosalind turned back towards the painting. "It's crude, but that sure looks like us." she mused, trailing her fingers over the canvas.
Skye pushed past her to examine the handle. "So this is how you activate the station?" she asked, tapping it. "It looks like you need to twist it, then push down."
"Don't touch it!" Rosalind yelped, yanking her sister's arm away from the panel.
"Calm down." Skye said. "I wasn't going to actually do it, yet."
"I think we should leave and get Daddy." Rosalind said. "we've our luck far enough."
"We can't!" Jane cried. "The journal made it clear, it's our destiny to turn it on!"
"Seriously?" Skye asked. "We don't have to do something just because an old book told us to."
"Yes we do!" Batty said. "She knew about Hound!"
"Order!" Rosalind shouted, pounding her fist against the wall, and cutting off the developing argument. "We'll vote on it."
"Sounds fair to me." Skye said. "Who goes first?"
"Batty?" Rosalind asked. "What do you think we should do?"
"We need to do it!" Batty said. "Ania said so!"
"Okay, one vote in favor." Rosalind said. "Jane?"
"We were summoned to this world for a purpose!" Jane said. "It is our duty, nay, our destiny to turn that switch!"
"Skye?"
Skye stayed silent for a long moment, considering. "I guess not." she finally said. "I'm curious, but we can't be sure if it's still safe."
"So, what do you vote?" Jane asked Rosalind.
"No." Rosalind replied. "we're out of our depth here. We need to get an adult's opinion before we do anything."
"two-two." Skye said. "Now what?"
"Hound hasn't voted yet!" Batty said.
"Let me guess" Rosalind said. "Hound supports your opinion wholeheartedly?"
"Woof." Hound agreed.
"Does anyone have a quarter?" Jane suggested. "We could flip for it."
"Nope." Skye said, turning out her pockets.
"I've got one." Rosalind said. "Heads, we go, Tails, we leave. Alright?"
"Deal." Jane said, and Rosalind flung the coin into the air. It flashed as it spun, bounced against the tile, then rolled down a nearby grate. The sisters groaned.
Skye crouched down and peered through the slats. "I can't see it."
"That was my last coin" Rosalind said, fishing around in her pocket.
"So what?" Jane asked. "Rock Paper Scissors?"
"We could let Hound decide." Batty suggested.
"We don't have any biscuits." Rosalind said.
"We could go get some" Batty said.
Skye sighed. "Forget it, I'll just change my vote."
"But…" Rosalind began.
"Hound never chooses me anyway." Skye said. "Besides, I'm tired of sitting around talking with a mystery like this sitting right next to us." She walked forward, and grabbed the handle. "Stand back."
"Absolutely not." Rosalind said. "If anyone's going to risk this, it's going to be me."
"Too late." Skye said. She twisted the handle ninety degrees, then shoved it forward.

Note
Both my mother and my uncle are Christians and I have grown up in the church my entire life, but I have found none of it convincing enough to consider Christianity myself I find it all to be a bunch of emotional nonsense, and while I don’t think there is anything wrong with people believing it, because I have seen how it comforts my mother, I just don’t see how there is any logic to it. My uncle told me that there is actually a lot of scientific and historical evidence to back Christianity up1/2
such as proof that some of the crazy stories that happened in the Bible actually happened and that Jesus was a real person, and did do all the things the Bible claimed he did. Can you back his claim up? 2/2
I would like to apologize if my earlier ask came off sounding rude, I have been told I can be a bit blunt and insensitive, I am merely curious and did not mean to sound rude when I said I found Christianity to be a bunch of emotional nonsense. I really am curious about the validity of Christianity.
No worries, friend! I am fully aware of how crazy Christianity sounds. People rising fromthe dead? Walking on water? Impenetrable cities falling because a bunch ofpeople walked in circles? Trust me, I get how crazy Christianity sounds. Iwouldn’t believe it without proof either.
First let’sstart with what is the point of Christianity? Is it a feel-good religion? No,it’s not. If I simply wanted a place to feel good about myself, I would go overto the New Age movement or Hinduism. The Bible tells me I’m a sinner and Ideserve to burn in eternal suffering for my actions. There’s not much to feelgood about that there. Actually, the Bible tells me that even – or rather, especially – as a Christian I should expect trial and tribulation in this life.People die every day for their faith in Jesus. Does that sound like a feel-goodreligion? If that was all there was to Christianity, you had better believe Iwould want nothing to do with it.
So then whatis the point of Christianity? The point is that I need God. The Bible proves tome that I am a depraved sinner. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fallshort of the glory of God.” I have broken God’s law. I have lied, I havestolen, I have hated (which God says is murder of the heart). God, as a justjudge, cannot let wrongs go unpunished. A good judge wouldn’t let a lying, thieving, murderer go free without paying for their crimes, and no amount ofgood can change the fact that a crime has been committed. God is so perfect, that even the smallest offense cannot go unpunished. What I deserve, what weall deserve, is death which is eternity in Hell. Still depressing, I know. Keeptracking with me.
Because noamount of good works can save me, because I can’t earn my salvation, because Iam destitute and dead in my sins, Jesus died to save me. He took my punishment, and died a horrible death on a cross so that I could have eternal life. I was asinner, an enemy of God, but through Jesus’ sacrifice I can have a relationshipwith God. John 3:16 says, “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, thatwhoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Now how do weknow all of that is true? How do we know the Bible is true? I am so very gladyou asked!
God saysthis, in Jeremiah 29:13, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Mewith all your heart.” There is an overwhelming amount of evidence for the Bibleif you look, and we’re going to take a look at just a few aspects of proof.
Did you knowthat the Bible is the most historically accurate ancient book we have? From theevents that took place, to the people mentioned, to the duplication ofmanuscripts, and the corroboration of witnesses, the preservation of historythat we have within the Bible exceeds every other source of ancientdocumentation by a landslide. And yes, Jesus was absolutely a real person!
I link tothis video often, but I’m going to do it again because I really love it. It’ssimple, yet brilliant. Definitely worth the watch. It’ll take you morestep-by-step through how we know the Bible can be trusted on a historical levelby comparing it to internal and external sources.
Now let’stalk about some crazy stories. One of my favorites is Jericho, the impenetrablecity that the Israelites took when its walls fell down. Archeologists revealedsome rather interesting anomalies when they excavated the great city. A few ofthe highlights include a single section of wall still standing (Rahab’s housewas spared, according to the Bible), grain that was left (a valuable prize thatwould have normally been saved for use, but God told the Israelites to leave itbehind), and the fact that the walls fell outward (in turn creating a ramp forthe Israelites to ascend into the city). These are all things that, undernormal circumstances, simply don’t add up from a historical and archeologicalperspective. You can read more about Jericho here.
We could talkabout the flood for an awful long time, but I’ll just link you to this postwhere I’ve already began to expound on some of the geological and scientificevidence that supports the Bible (DID I MENTION DINOSAURS).
Creation ingeneral is just an AMAZING way we see God at work. Just the fact that you existis a miracle. Your brain, your eyes, your heart, your lungs, your nervoussystem, your thoughts… none of which the complexity of such has ever beenduplicated. You are a marvel. Did you know that the very glue that holds youtogether is shaped like a cross? Laminin is a microscopic building blockessential to your being, it binds you together, and it looks like this:
Tumblr media
Now, just fora moment imagine there is a God who loves you, who made you with the utmostcare and attention. Who, before you were born, knew the colour of your eyes andthe sound of your laugh, the shape of your hands and every one of your favoritefoods. Then, God, who formed you, put His mark on you, His thumbprint, just tosay, “This is my beautiful creation.”
You can call it coincidence, sure, but just how many times can you call something a coincidence? Eventually a pattern emerges. Little or big, things start adding up, and the more we explore the world we live in, the more we see that it points us right back to a divine Creator.
These arejust a few pieces of evidence, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is SOmuch more to find if you look for it. Like the hundreds of prophesies Jesus fulfilled while he was alive, written centuries before His birth. Or the things written about in the Bible that modern science didn’t recognize until much, much later. I believe in God because everything Ihave ever seen brings me right back to Him. The Bible has proven itself to be authentic, excelling every test put to it. The world simply cannot provide answers like theBible can, there is no substitute for the truth.
