Tbf you literally can use your zombies for good in SS, that's what a summoner is
Gameplay and story segregation anon,
The monsters (entombed, mogalls, skeletons etc) are seen as abominations and signs of Fomortiis' returning power.
Morva, Monica and Vigarde are used, in game, to depict how twisted and malevolent it is to resurrect the dead, Morva in particular can turn against his daughter - who's to say those randos Knoll/Ewan summons weren't former Grado soldiers ?
Sure it's fun and I love sending random phantoms (and to see them survive lol) at units for fun, but it's just a gameplay mechanic.
If the end of the story's message (or one of them) is "don't bring back dead people, learn to move on" it's not to have Ewan bring back Ross's mom as a zombie and to send her fight against bandits who are terrorizing his village!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good December! These were my contributions to the @welcomehomefanzine winter zine! I managed to do more art this time too! For my contributions I wanted to draw art on various Winter traditions from different cultures, such as also my own! If you decide to colour in any of these, please @ me!!
Also keep in mind, we are not affiliated with Clown or the team behind WH, we are just fans who love the work!!
I wrote more on all the artworks under the cut! Including the traditions they were based on!
First one was a little visual pun on the first verse of '12 Days of Christmas', Poppy is the partridge in the pear tree! Not much to say about this one, it's my only Christmas related thing! Second one was based on the Southern Welsh winter tradition of the Mari Lwyd. The Mari Lwyd is a hobby horse made from a horse's skull and is then decorated. It is puppeteered to go to the doors of various houses where its handlers will sing verses on letting it in to the home, you are supposed to sing back excuses on why you can't let it in, and if you relent, you invite the Mari Lwyd and its handlers in your home, where it will eat your food and alcohol and terrorise your children! The tradition and its true origins and meaning and even etymology is unknown, but it's thought to have ancient Pagan roots! It seems here, Eddie relented in his songs to it and regretted everything immediately after!
Third image is another Poppy centric piece because I love her. Here she is dressed up as a figure from Schnabelperchten! This is a tradition seen only in Rauris Valley in Austria and is a manifestation of Perchta, a goddess from Alpine Paganism that took the form of a old woman who'd punish misbehaving children by slitting their bellies. For Schnabelperchten, on the 5th of January, figures dressed in smocks, jackets, and a beak-like mask will visit various homes to check their upkeep and cleanliness all while emitting a soft 'ga ga ga', in more ancient versions of the legend, if you did not keep your living quarters in good enough conditions, the Schnabelperchten would slit open your belly and dump all the rubbish inside! Poppy would never do that though! No one tell her about that part!! Last but not least is one based on a tradition from my culture! Here you see the entire neighbourhood celebrating Yalda Night and spending time with one anotherThis is a Persian/Iranian festival with Zoroastrian roots held on the Winter Solstice. This day was traditionally seen as ill omened as being the darkest day of the year, the forces of Ahriman and his Deevs were most active, and so much of the day entailed family and friends getting together in good company. They would read stories and poems (especially the Shahnameh or poems by Hafez) with nuts and various fruits from previous harvests being served, watermelon and pomegranates being the most prominent! It was also encouraged to stay well up after midnight lest misfortune befall you! Due to it also being the longest night, it was also seen as the birthdate of the sun deity Mehr (or Mithra), as the subsequent days would get longer.
This was all fun to do and I hope I did all these traditons justice!! I am most likely missing out a lot on my explanations for them, so I hope I at least peaked your interest in these different Winter festivities enough to look into them on your own!

Who is Tom Hiddleston an Incarnation of?
Hello, my name is Ellie. I am a psychic who mainly does divination work with a pendulum and printable ABC charts so I can get messages from deities, faye, and other benevolent beings. A lot of the information I get comes from my divination work. I've worked with several deities and have asked all of them to prove they are who they are (and when it's really them speaking and not an imposter). In this post, I am going to reveal the deity the actor Tom Hiddleston is an incarnation of. For a brief overview, Tom Hiddleston is best known for playing Loki in the first 3 "Thor" Marvel movies, as well as 3 of the "Avengers" Marvel movies. Some of his other roles include Oakley in "Unrelated" (2007), Adam in "Only Lovers Left Alive" (2013), F. Scott Fitzgerald in "Midnight in Paris" (2011), Captain Nichols in "War Horse" (2011), Freddie Page in "The Deep Blue Sea" (2011), Thomas Sharpe in "Crimson Peak" (2015), singer Hank Williams in "I Saw the Light" (2015), Dr. Robert Laing in "High Rise" (2015), James Conrad in "Kong: Skull Island" (2017), Jonathan Pine in "The Night Manager", and Will Ransome in "The Essex Serpent" (2022). Noteably, he met his fiancée Zawe Ashton (their publicly stated marital status as of 4/18/2023) when they were in the Broadway play "Betrayal".
So who is Tom Hiddleston an incarnation of? As you probably guessed it, he is indeed an incarnation of the Nordic deity of mischief Loki! Just who else could Tom Hiddleston be an incarnation of besides the deity he is best known for playing throughout his acting career?
Tumblr media
Loki in Norse Mythology and Paganism
Loki in Norse mythology and paganism is known as the cunning trickster or the God of Mischief who is affiliated with the element fire. Some descriptions of Loki in Norse mythology indicate that he had either blonde or red hair, has a slim, tall build and "fiery" eyes some say are green. However, in the Marvel comics he is portrayed as being tall, slim and having light eyes and dark hair when he doesn't look like his blue frost giant self with reddish eyes. It should be kept in mind that Loki in mythology and paganism and in the Marvel films is depicted as a shapeshifter. Loki in Norse mythology was married to the goddess Sigyn, which means "friend of victory". Together they bored their children Narfi and Vali. He also had 2 other wives, Glut and Angrboda, although Sigyn is said to be his favorite. He is also depicted as being a rather self-serving, deceitful man. He's neither evil nor good in mythology and is a bringer of chaos.
Although not a whole lot is known about Sigyn in Norse texts, in the Marvel comics she was portrayed as having black hair and blue eyes (and apparently ashamed of her ears) but was briefly portrayed as having blonde hair. His children according to mythology include Hel or Hela the Goddess of Death, Jörmungand the world serpent, gave birth to Sleipnir Odin's eight-legged horse, Narfi, Vali, and the wolf Fenrir. Loki has played the role of both enemy and ally for the Aesir gods and was a said companion for the Nordic gods Thor and Odin.
Some historians suggest that because Loki was not mentioned in the earliest Nordic works including the Grimnismal in the Poetic Edda, he may have been later on inserted into Norse mythology as a deity of his own. Loki is often described as the "blood brother" of Odin, who curiously is a trickster himself. It's been suggested by some historians for these reasons Loki may in fact be an aspect or even disguise of Odin's. Some speculation suggests they were once one deity before being separated into separate beings that still have a special bond.
Loki's role in the death of Odin's son Baldur involving a mistletoe carved into an arrow and handing it to Baldur's brother Höðr. Baldur's death resulted in his punishment of being tied to a rock with rope said to be made from his son Narfi's intestines in a cave under a snake. To make his punishment worse, the snake was dripping venom onto Loki's head. As the loyal wife she was, Sigyn sat in the cave with Loki and held a bowl under the snake's mouth to catch the venom. Whenever Sigyn would leave Loki's side to empty the bowl he would shriek in agony from a few drops of venom dripping on his face that caused earthquakes to happen on all 9 realms in the Norse cosmos.
Loki According to Guidees and Lokeans
As one could guess, working with Loki can be challenging and is not a deity for a casual worshipper. He is a deity that is drawn to those who curiously have a history of loneliness or having mental illnesses such as depression or anxiety. Loki's also drawn to people who are in need of making big changes in their life and likely need a big reality check. He's known amongst Lokeans for bringing chaos into his guidees' lives in order to force change to happen. Several individuals on Reddit have commented on Loki bringing out deeply rooted traumas to surface in order to make people work their way through their trauma and ultimately heal. Across the board, he is also known for being an amusing deity that brings humor into his guidees' lives. Some have cautioned that he is not afraid of expressing when he has been angered.
Based on my own personal experiences in working and speaking with Loki, all of these things have proven to be true. While he is humorous to talk to and such, he does ultimately mean business when it comes to his ultimate intentions with his guidees: to instill some kind of much needed change in where they're headed on their life path.
Some offerings for Loki include: Cinnamon, red, orange, green, violet or black objects, snake, falcon, fox, fish (especially salmon) or horse objects, mistletoe, citrine, amethyst, black tourmaline, garnet, serpentine, carnelian. Loki is big on doing shadow work, or in other words working through traumas in order to heal from them (not big on simply repressing or oppressing it).
Traits of Loki in Tom Hiddleston
Tom Hiddleston was born February 9, 1981 in London, England to his parents James Hiddleston a managing director of a pharmaceutical company and Diana Hiddleston a theatre actress. His parents divorced when he was 13 years old, which was said to have influenced Tom to pursue his career in acting. His father and him have admittedly gotten into arguments over his father's concerns regarding Tom's decision to pursue acting as his career, as he felt Tom should use his mind for something more practical career wise and not something as "insubstantial as acting". In an interview with Tom in the early 2010s he admitted that he was quite mischievous as a child when asked if he's as mischievous as Loki, some stories going back to things he's done as early as 5 years old!
Naturally as an incarnation of the Nordic God of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston's breakthrough role was none other than playing his higher self in the Marvel film "Thor". Interestingly enough, because Tom Hiddleston has naturally lighter hair and as a tall man, he felt he should audition for the role of Thor in the Marvel film "Thor". Tom gained 20lbs over the course of 6 weeks in order to gain more muscle to achieve the tall, muscular look required for the role of Thor (who by the way is reported to actually have reddish hair in Norse mythology). About a month after he auditioned, he got the phone call saying someone else was given the role of Thor but was instead offered the role of Loki. In Norse mythology, Loki is interestingly enough depicted as having lighter eyes, slim and tall, and lighter hair just like Tom Hiddleston himself.
youtube
Although Tom never stated whether he fears snakes, his role of vicar Will Ransome in the mini series "The Essex Serpent" disbelieves the reports of a mythical serpent causing the mysterious deaths of some people in a small village in the English county Essex. It is the village's newcomer Cora, a paleontologist and eventual love interest of Will's who unintentionally stirs up more fear amongst the villagers during her time there investigating to see if the serpent is in fact possibly a prehistoric dinosaur species that never became extinct. In biblical terms, the serpent or snake is said to represent the devil due to a serpent appearing in the Garden of Eve and tempting her to eat the forbidden fruit. For those who watched the show, Will and Cora develop feelings for each other despite Will's marriage to his wife Stella. Oh sinful temptations...
One of Tom Hiddleston's roles was in the film "War Horse" directed by Steven Spielberg where he plays the role of Captain Nicholls who buys a horse named Joey from a man named Albert. Capt. Nicholls dies early on in the film while he is riding Joey. Tom stated in past interviews it was physically grueling learning to horseback ride; however, his first experience riding horses for a movie was actually the first "Thor" movie (is seen on a horse in one of the film's deleted scenes). He stated he did about 99% of all the horseback riding stunts in this film. When asked in a past interview what the best thing is in his wardrobe, Tom stated he some Ariat cowboy boots during his time in California learning how to horseback ride he states "have seen all weathers". Tom stated in another interview one thing he took away from his time filming War Horse is "his undying love of horses".
With respect to his personal life, in August 2020 Tom released a cook book called "Low Carb For Really Busy People Cookbook". He also was in a Chinese Centrum Ad commercial where he made a rather colorful breakfast full of vegetables and an egg for his girlfriend or wife. Seems fitting for Tom to like cooking, given Loki is a fire deity. He also enjoys dancing; coincidentally, one of his said best dance moves is called The Snake Hips. Prior to meeting Zawe Ashton his now fiancee and mother of their child together, Tom has a history of shorter term relationships (the most famous one being with singer Taylor Swift) with 1 or 2 lasting about a couple years.
At one point, he was seen by his friends as someone who was more ambitious and not particularly interested in settling down. He once admitted he was not the perfect boyfriend due to his busy schedule but was looking to improve this. This could be synonymous with the fact Loki was depicted as a deity who had a lot of affairs despite being married and perhaps not really the best deity as far as commitment goes. Of course, this isn't to say Tom was ever unfaithful as I don't think he ever was but rather simply seems like the type that wasn't exactly looking to settle down until older. This may be more or less reflective of his higher self not being portrayed as a monogamous, relationship kind of man but is instead one who wanted to do his own thing.

Is Loki This Much of a Trickster?
Before I deliver my message for Tom, one thing I have learned in a lot of my divination readings is that higher selves do sometimes neglect their own incarnations or at least dislike them. How could that be if souls supposedly choose what happens during their incarnations? The real kicker is this: they don't. In fact, most souls have no say in how their divine blueprints and plans are written or what's in them. Souls with a higher status spiritually have some say but it is other divine blueprinters who ultimately have more say so than the individual themselves.
All deities have immortal incarnations in the Faye realm as I've discussed in other posts. The physical Loki in the Faye realm does indeed have lighter features as he is depicted in Norse mythology. Interestingly enough however, the astral body and higher self of the deities Loki and Hermes actually has darker hair and lighter eyes, which is how Loki is depicted in the Marvel films. This is important to understand, as sometimes the physical immortal incarnations of deities can travel to Earth through the astral planes (which are also physical but just different).
Bottom Line: The higher self of Hermes and Loki is awesome. He is the reason why many Lokeans adore working with Loki; it is the physical incarnation of Loki is why some said experienced witches advise against working with Loki as a trickster deity who is not to be trusted.
Message for Tom Hiddleston About Loki from Hermes
It seems despite Tom's varied acting career, he has struggled to have any of his roles "stick" to his image as hardcore as that of Loki. What I mean is that it seems that despite having played a variety of roles, many people see him as "the guy who plays Loki" and that's mostly it. The physical Loki from the Faye realm essentially had it in Tom's divine blueprints to make it so Tom's success is "heavily tied" to playing Loki. As big of a shock as this will be for Lokeans and even the casual reader here, because of the physical Loki's dislike towards Tom due to his looks not being "handsome enough" in physical Loki's words and "wanting to fix his looks", Loki is not an ideal deity for Tom to be speaking with as far as offerings and such goes.
Interestingly enough, Tom Hiddleston has a love of Greek mythology and cited his favorite characters are Odysseus and the Greek and the god of Wine and song Dionysus. I mentioned earlier that the immortal incarnations of the deities Hermes and Loki are physical incarnations of the same higher self. In Greek mythology, Hermes is actually known for his role in saving his half-brother Dionysus (same father Zeus, different mothers) from Zeus' wife Hera and her wrath by hiding him near Mt. Nysa in Anatolia, which is modern day Turkey. Curiously, Hermes is also said to be a trickster deity who also is affiliated with fire and even fish. Tom's favorite foods according to some sources are sashimi and sushi.
My advice to Tom Hiddleston is to sit by a fire enjoying sushi sometime (not salmon however) and feel free to enjoy a nice glass of wine while he's at it. Start delving more into Greek mythology, movies and even plays. Also, don't have any mistletoe anywhere in your house period even in any Christmas decor. Get more in touch with your love of animals, and for goodness sake no more 5+ year stretches of no vacation time. (Hermes is a deity affiliated with traveling; this is also a reference to an older interview of Tom's where he stated he hasn't been on a vacation in over 5 years). Tom would be better served in his career and even personal life if he started to reach out more also to other deities including Odin, Hela, Freyr, Hermes, and even the Egyptian goddess Isis.

II. HISTORY .
· Pandreo was born to clergy members of the Eastern church and was raised alongside other members children and the orphans the church would take in. Around two years later, Panette was born. · When Panette was six, she ran away. In the year that followed, their parents searched for her, though it was mostly a ruse to show they cared about their children when they didn't. Eventually, they stopped searching and abandoned Pandreo and the church shortly after. Many years later, it was found out that Panette had been taken in by a minor noble, yet no one knew what happened to their parents. Some people think they disappeared to another country and changed their names. · Even though it was suspected before the birth of their children, it didn't become blatantly apparent that Pandreo's parents were corrupt until roughly a year after his sister was born. They often used their position within the church to swindle people out of their money with promises of making their lives better, as well as trying to send orphaned children to minor nobles or even to Almyra for a price. There dad was also a well-known drunk and gambling man. · Pandreo was taken in by another clergyman of the church, informally adopted. From there, he was taught to read and write, primarily scripture. Aside from the man who raised him, he was inspired to keep going after hearing heroic tales of the goddess and the saints. · Even though the Leicester Alliance isn't the most traditional, including the Eastern church, Pandreo was still judged for trying to make service fun for everyone. He was often called disrespectful by his peers, especially when he picked up the habit of howling. Often, the elder members of the church would skip out on his dinners and potlucks, but the younger ones always attended. Despite the judgment, the small get-togethers he put together always brought in new members and a fair bit of coin. · Years later, at age fifteen, Pandreo was sent to Garreg Mach with the hopes he could become a member of the Central church in order to garner favor for the Leicester Alliance, whether that be through becoming a knight or continuing his clergy work. Instead of attending the Officer's Academy like most would, however, he became a member of the staff, often relegated to cleaning and scribework to slowly work his way up the ranks.
III. MISC. NOTES .
Strengths : Faith, Reason Weaknesses : Axe, Flying, Heavy Armor Hidden talents : Lance, Riding Favorite tea : Almond blend, honeyed-fruit blend, four-spice blend Notable hangout spots : Cathedral, dining hall, fishing pond, greenhouse—may be found elsewhere, but most often in these areas Lost items : Annotated book of scripture, ceremonial beaded necklace, list of party supplies Favorite gifts : Board game, goddess statuette, owl feather, tasty baked treat Least favorite gifts : Hunting dagger, training weight, whetstone Favorite dishes : Cheesy verona stew, Daphnel stew, Derdriu-style fried pheasant, fish and bean soup, fish sandwich, fruit and herring tart, Gautier cheese gratin, peach sorbet, onion gratin soup, saghert and cream, sautéed pheasant and eggs, sweet and salty whitefish sauté, super-spicy fish dango, sweet bun trio Least favorite dishes : Country-style red turnip plate, fried crayfish, pickled rabbit skewers, pickled seafood and vegetables, spicy fish and turnip stew Other : · Like Rhajat in Fates, who knew she'd be reborn as Tharja in another universe, Pandreo's aware that he'll be reborn in Elyos. Even if there's no proper in-game way for this to happen, his level of awareness is route-dependant. In Silver Snow, it's eerily accurate, with remembering names and events, as well as who he'll see there someday. In Crimson Flower and Verdant Wind, things are blurry and much more dream-like. The only person he can recall with certainty is Byleth. In Azure Moon, however, he has absolutely zero awareness of his reincarnation. · Despite being a staff member, his age makes it easy for him to become friends with the students. His party-going ways are definitely amplified away from the Eastern church, which can get him into a fair bit of trouble with some of the other staff. His parties are typically held in the nearby forest as bonfire events, but they can sometimes take place in the dorms. · If Byleth decides to teach the Golden Deer, then Pandreo is immediately recruitable. For the other two houses, Byleth needs at least a C in either Faith or Reason and decent stats in Magic.
IV. PHASES .
White Clouds : Like Cyril, he can be seen working around the monastery. Even if he's recruited into a house, he still works on top of his classes. Being a student gives him some extra credit with the likes of Seteth and some of the higher ranking clergy, at least. Silver Snow (default) : Since he's a staff member, he's instantly recruited once the War Phase starts. During Byleth's five years of absence, Pandreo provided aid in the search for Rhea and kept vigilant watch over the decaying monastery. His personality doesn't change much, even if he expresses regrets on fighting against former students, especially the Black Eagles. He may make comments in secret about how he wonders if Edelgard was doing the right thing if he had been a part of the Black Eagles house before the war. Azure Moon : Despite the friends he made while being recruited into the Blue Lions, he admits he's not well-versed in the ways of Faerghus. He's not there out of any loyalty to Dimitri or the Kingdom, but instead due to his confidence in Byleth's abilities and because of the church's connect to Faerghus. While he does show concern for Dimitri, Pandreo often bites his tongue when it comes to everyone's dedication to getting him on the throne in such a poor state. His personality may seem a little more withdrawn in this route. Crimson Flower : His confidence in Byleth far outweighed his devotion to the church, with the help of Rhea's desire for violence. Even though he doesn't necessarily regret siding with Edelgard, like several other recruitable students (like Hapi, for example), Pandreo will express that he's not entirely onboard with the way Edelgard is handling things and that he's really only there for Byleth. His penitence for having to kill others is more apparent in this path, yet at the same time, he's more ruthless in battle. Verdant Wind : Since the Leicester Alliance is where he was born, he has no issues siding with Claude, especially since the church is still in play anyway. Claude is seemingly the only ruler he has no issue with, as a lot of their ideals and ways of handling them align. He seems just a little more carefree down this route, even for his usual self.
V. SOLO ENDINGS .
Crimson Flower : After the war, Pandreo's views changed, leaving him questioning his faith and wondering about the likes of others. After he helped defeat those who slither in the dark, he left Fódlan to travel the world. He spent his time learning of the various cultures and religions that were previously closed off from Fódlan, and when he returned, he devoted himself to creating a church that was open to all belief systems and became a well-respected scholar of theology. Other routes : Despite initial backlash, Pandreo was able to inject some of his fun-loving ways into the church. This push eventually led to the Church of Seiros developing a less strict, more welcoming aura, and they garnered many new followers over the years. Some history books state that churchgoers wanted Pandreo to become a canonized saint, but that never happened... Except for in the east. (The only difference between routes is that Pandreo focuses on the Central church in AM and SS, while heading back to the Eastern church in VW after several years.)
VI. SUPPORTS . ⤷ For funsies. This isn't a ship bias list or a wishlist, it's simply who I think he'd speak with if he was a playable character in 3H. I thought of putting my ideas for support chains, but that would've made the post longer than it needed to be.

EXPLAIN LORE TO ME I LIKE ANY TYPES OF LORE
LORE LORE LORE LORE LORE - Runic
ALRIGHT HI IT'S TIME FOR ME TO EXPLAIN TO YOU, MY DEAR FRIEND, THE FLIGHT RISING GODS
@astral-runic i hope you're ready for this <3
i'm not gonna explain the lore in-depth because i am BEHIND on it, but i'll explain who the gods are! and also the fun fact that the gods on flight rising have their own accounts and used to interact with players sometimes!!!! that was fun :> (i say as if i was active on the site at that point). also it's like a thing where people jokingly refer to the gods as their parents- yeah <3
for context, each dragon god on flight rising is affiliated with a specific element, or flight, and every dragon clan is associated with one of the gods. my account has been a shadow clan since day one babeyyyy so i will have a lot to say about the shadow goddess.
okay under the cut! content warnings: the plague goddess looks a bit gross at first glance and i can't spoiler tag her image, so tread lightly. if zombies make you uncomfortable, pls be careful!
first up; the earth god, the earthshaker!
Tumblr media
from what i understand, the earthshaker is kind of a sad old man. he's the oldest of the gods and one of the gods that helped create the world of sornieth! he wishes the other gods would still be friends and not just kick the shit out of each other all the time.
a cursory glance at his profile tells me that his followers call him variations of rockdad. fair!
next up: the fire goddess, miss flamecaller!
Tumblr media
the flamecaller is the fire goddess! she's one of the oldest gods and also helped create the world! we love a girlboss!!! she seems very cool, idk my clan isn't fire affiliated. i'm sure she's done some atrocities though because like all the gods have.
idk what her followers call her but i think. well. firemom is good.
next up: the wind god, the windsinger!
Tumblr media
hello noodledad. anyway the windsinger is pretty dope! he's all about adventure and learning new things and exploring and making the most out of life! he's also another one of the oldest gods who helped create the world. from what i gather he's not that interested in the petty disagreements between the other gods and just wants to have fun.
next up; the water god, mr tidelord!
Tumblr media
so this is the only part of the lore i'm up to date on lmao and that is that the tidelord's fucking missing??? or dead???? what the fuck. anyway he's cool. he lives in the ocean and he has visions all the time and goes "yikes" and i love him. unfortunately i think someone killed him. sorry, water dad.
next up: MY MOM MY MOM MY MOM- the shadow goddess, the shadowbinder!
Tumblr media
so i originally picked shadowmom because i liked her design the most, and that still stands. i love her. she is so goopy. those are liquid shadows dripping out of her body and i love her so much. shadowmom's philosophy is that sometimes secrets should stay secret and knowledge can hurt. which uhhh y'know isn't actually something i really agree with but it's okay she's fine-
shadow mom is a younger goddess, but she's still comparatively old as fuck compared to the newest ones.
also she calls her followers her children and i'm 🥺🥺 ily shadowmomma
next up: a bitch! the ice god, the icewarden!
Tumblr media
he's a cop! or something! that's kind of a reduction but this bitch made all the prisons in this world and is all "ohhhh i am holding so many horrors away from killing the world" and then in the same breath makes fun of my favorite dragon breeds. i hope he chokes /lh
i do love his design, i just think he's a little hater and deserves to be bullied mercilessly.
i will not call this beast father.
aaand next up: the capitalist, the lightning god, the stormcatcher!
Tumblr media
so the stormcatcher is the only god that players don't refer to as dad! i think that's neat. no, he's The Boss. he treats his followers like his employees, for better or for worse. he is all about PRODUCTIVITY and INDUSTRIALISM and i wanna push him into a locker- i'm kidding.
he's cool, i like his design a lot.
aaand next up, the worst of the bunch (/lh), the light goddess, the lightweaver!
Tumblr media
so as a loyal son of shadowmom, i have to bully this motherfucker. lightweaver is a punk-ass glittery hoe who creates fucked up zombies and then goes "ahaha not my problem lol." fuck you.
(this is a joke, i actually think she's super cool and has a fun design and interesting lore, but i'm a good son to shadowmom ok-)
i call her glitterbitch <3
next up: the nature goddess, the gladekeeper!
Tumblr media
the gladekeeper is one of the youngest deities, and i think she's super fucking cool. she's all about survival and perseverance, and she's spent millennia warring with her sister, the plague goddess. she was created in the wake of an apocalypse and has been focusing on repairing the world. i love u beardmom even if ur not my mom.
and next up: her sister, the plague goddess, the zombie plaguebringer!
Tumblr media
so, looking at plaguebringer, you may think she's evil. but she's really not. her whole deal is that she also wants to repair the world, but she has a very different philosophy on how to do that. the plaguebringer believes only the strongest can survive, and that strength and resilience must be cultivated for the world not to fall again.
she is so fucking cool and i love her <33333 also her followers make the funniest memes, don't @ me.
and finally, my actual favorite aside from shadowmom: the arcanist! the arcane god!
Tumblr media
so the arcanist is the youngest god and also the smallest, but he's bigger than every single mortal dragon breed lmao. he's caused he apocalypse three separate times and i'm fucking obsessed with him. spacedad <33333
he was born in a nuclear reactor (long story) and i highkey headcanon that his magic is just pure radiation.
he's my favorite and i have an oc i ship with him because i'm attached to him a completely normal amount (lying)

Name: Kronker "Kronk" Pepikranenitz Godly Parent: Aphrodite Affiliation: Visiting Alumni Species: Demigod Abilities: Physical appearance manipulation (Mostly hair), naturally fluent in French, Charmspeak (limited use, likes to think its not the charmspeak talking) Biography: See below
Papi wasn't exactly subtle that he'd snagged a goddess, he was a man of swagger and confidence. A certified stud back in the day. And given how Kronk had grown up, incredibly tall, chiseled like a statue and handsome. Who wouldn't believe that his mom was Aphrodite herself?
Kronk had always known the deal from a young age. He'd go to Camp Swynlake and be claimed by her. But Kronk found himself more interested in food, cooking it with his Abuela as his Tia's pinched his cheeks for being so handsome, rather than sports like his father wanted him to be.
Camp Swynlake was supposed to maybe change that, and while he might have the strength to pull a bow or swing a sword, he just didn't have the heart to cut someone else down. Not until they threatened a friend or sibling anyways. He was loyal to a fault to his siblings, which didn't always lend itself to the best judgements when the children of Aphrodite were feeling particularly petty.
Beyond his siblings, he'd made a couple friends in other cabins, particularly when he was pestering the lunchpersons in the mess hall for their recipes to sloppy joes and other camp foods. He'd spot something interesting on a plate, or a weird combination of mess hall foods and just thump right down beside them.
It was how he'd first encountered a particular boy over in Athena's cabin, but it was hard keeping friends from other cabins sometimes. Lives and classes just diverged and Kronk was onto the next subject.
After he'd become an adult, his passion for food didn't lessen. He decided to make his way on his own and take some culinary classes, working his way up at one of the better restaurants in Lima part-time. His culinary education was interrupted by the war where Kronk was recruited to help out his mother and the other gods fight.
It had been difficult, but he knew he had to protect what was his, what was theirs.
After the war, Kronk decided life was too short to live by his Papi's standards and went full time to culinary school. It was hard but the techniques were like muscle memory to him. Also most of his professors really liked him? And people were really eager to help him out too. Everyone was so nice.
In any case, Kronk started working under a chef at a zagat rated restaurant in Miami who was not as nice. He kept making mistakes to the point that he just couldn't bother to be yelled at again. Kronk started cooking at a diner in town wanting to get back to the basics that he loved and there's where the passion came back.
Modeling jobs came and went to support some bills, but his one love was getting behind that cooking line and making things people loved.
Around 2019-2020, Kronk went viral at the diner he worked at for being 'the hot chef' and was featured on all the diner's social media platforms from then on. He took his new followers and ran with them, deciding to become an influencer.
KronkCooks took off and he was featured across TikTok and Instagram algorithms, finally being able to blend his gifts from his mother with his love of international food and become an influencer for just being himself in his kitchen.
With his new found fame and followers, it's hard to know who to trust (even if he wants to trust everyone anyways), he hopes to get back to the people who knew him as just the big kid in Aphrodite's cabin at the reunion.
(And maybe one other person who might be a little preoccupied with their mother's feud.)

DIVERGENCE
PRE-FILM/BOOKS.
i’ve chosen to retcon all but the following details when it comes to the books :
mal and jay have been friends/partners in crime the longest
mal still has a dragon birthmark on her upper arm. she keeps this covered or hidden by makeup at all times up until she transforms into a dragon in descendants 2
this retcon includes scrapping the bit about maleficent banishing evie and the evil queen is retaliation for mal not being invited to evie’s birthday party, as maleficent didn’t raise mal and thus likely wouldn’t have cared. instead, i leave it open to evie players on whether they’d like to plot out a more positive beginning for the two, or find another way to keep things unfriendly.
DESCENDANTS.
first things first, any mentions of maleficent as her parent are now mentions of hades
in place of maleficent’s spell book, mal has her own lesser version of hades’ ember. unlike his, however, hers has never worked while under the barrier surrounding the isle of the lost. it only begins to light up once they cross over into auradon
when it comes to any sort of magic, mal is far more inclined to the godly sort, having no real knowledge of or desire to use her fairy magic. instead when it comes to spells, it falls more onto evie, as she would also have magic in her blood courtesy of the evil queen being an avid magic user. this includes unlocking the museum door, the hair makeovers, and the love potion cookie (which was mal’s idea but required evie’s magic to execute properly)
mal does have a moment in the museum with the maleficent statue, the first time she’s seen her mother since infancy, regardless of whether or not she’s truly there. she comes away from this more determined than before to break the villains free and rule auradon. not due to any loyalty or a need to please her mother, but instead to prove maleficent wrong for abandoning her all those years ago. she is being fueled by anger towards her mother at this point, combined with a desire to free her father. (evil like me as a performance, however, is retconned)
small thing, but instead of claiming to be an only child while on her date with ben, she mentions having a brother, as hadie being her younger brother is completely canon to my portrayal of mal
in place of the main conflict at parents day being caused by queen leah and audrey, it’s megara that strikes up conversation with mal only to then be interrupted by hercules who recognizes and calls mal out as being the daughter of hades. this leads to the same sort of end as the original scene, with the divide between aks and vks being further pointed out
mal only ever refers to maleficent as her mother at the coronation once everyone is frozen, and thus cannot play witness. this is when that truth is first revealed to carlos and evie, as jay had made the discovery while still on the isle following an incident where he spotted mal’s dragon birthmark
following the coronation, mal goes out of her way to spend time with jane, trying to make up for the damage that she caused and boost the other’s confidence.
DESCENDANTS TWO.
maleficent does not live in the dorm room with mal and evie, but a highly guarded cell, as she is an incredibly dangerous villain. beyond that, mal doesn’t feel as though she owes her mother anything, so she sees no reason to go out of her way to take care of the lizard who never cared for her
in place of continuing to rely on the spell book, it’s her godly magic that mal continues to use in order to help her assimilate into auradon more easily.
her actual favorite fruit is pomegranate, a fact she keeps to herself to avoid the obvious jokes
“let me spoil you. you didn’t have a lot growing up.” “we managed.” - this exchange with ben is pretty indicative of the fact that mal doesn’t truly hate the isle. it’s where she grew up and, despite everything, she does have some fond memories of her life there
the truth gummy potion was one that mal got from hecate, one of the few relatives to actually reach out to her following the events of coronation. it’s hecate that helped mal to work on her magic and offer guidance
instead of a spell to get the picnic food, mal calls in a favor with the kitchens. the food being fake or spelled is never a major part of the argument she and ben have. the main source of the fight is when it’s revealed that mal has still been using her magic to help her fit in and assimilate in auradon, and has been lying to him about it. this is caused by the discovery of a list of spells mal had gotten from an old book hecate had loaned her, thus leading to the attempted (and failed) memory spell. given the mental manipulation via magic that mal had used against ben in the first film, this obviously leads to the major part of the argument in the film
in hindsight, mal recognizes that she was in the wrong and that her insecurities and defensiveness got the better of her here. she does apologize to ben later on.
mal obviously didn’t take maleficent with her back to the isle since she doesn’t have that immediate access to her, nor would she feel a desire to do so
it’s when ben goes to her on the isle that mal apologizes (as stated above), but the conversation also does serve to finalize a break up that remains in place throughout the rest of my descendants 2 canon. it can be plotted out for descendants 3 and/or later whether or not they decide to give it a second shot or just remain friends
uma doesn’t bring up maleficent as mal’s mother, and instead mocks hades
mal purposefully kept her struggles to herself, both out of guilt and a fear of letting her friends down. they all loved auradon and had been adjusting far better than she had, and mal felt that if she were to express how she’d been struggling it would’ve brought all of them down with her. she never once blamed them for not noticing, as that had been her whole goal
i’ve chosen to retcon the sword fight, because there’s no way the core four would’ve won even with lonnie’s help when up against a massive crew of trained pirates. instead they moved quickly when they got ben back, using the smoke bombs towards the end of the escape to ensure them the time and distance they needed to be successful
if not for carlos insisting on girl talk between the four of them, mal likely never would’ve opened up the way she did. without that talk, she probably would’ve run away again, whether to the isle or not she’s unsure. she also uses this opportunity to pull blame onto herself and away from ben for their breakup, as she does acknowledge she played the larger role in the split
mal’s decision to attend cotillion is based around her friends and not ben
seeing ben with uma at cotillion hits home for mal that she does love him. but it’s also due to that love that she realizes they cannot be together until she’s worked on herself first. she’s done damage to him and their relationship, and it’ll take time to repair that. this is why the break up stays in place despite mal using their love to break uma’s spell on him. it’s not a healthy relationship, and that’s something they both deserve no matter who they end up with in the future
mal is genuine in her attempt to persuade uma to choose good. in recognizing the damage she’s done to ben, it allows her to see harm she did while still on the isle as well. especially to uma
it’s when mal loses control and transforms into a dragon that the pieces fall into place for everyone to realize her mother is maleficent. while this was never something she wanted, she doesn’t regret the way in which it allowed her to protect her friends
that second kiss between mal and ben never happened, as they’re just friends at that point
mal returns hecate’s spell book, as well as donating her own ember to the museum
mal is still made a member of the court following cotillion, though this is due to her being the heir to the underworld and not as ben’s lady. evie is also added to the court in order to give further voice to those still on the isle of the lost
DESCENDANTS THREE.
vk day divergence :
vk day is a weekly thing, taking place on fridays (announcement after school with pickups on saturday morning) to provide the new vk transfers a weekend to settle in and tour the area surrounding auradon prep. the vk day seen in the film is just the first one to take place. the purpose of the application is more so to provide information on a specific individual, rather than determine who gets chosen over other applicants
reasoning for only selecting a small group, with plans to expand the selection number as the program continues on, was to not overwhelm the teachers of auradon prep and provide the vk students the attention they would need in that first week
celia is to mal what dizzy is to evie because i said so
so, mal doesn’t patrol as a dragon, as she tends to do everything in her power to distance herself from maleficent
since mal and ben are no longer together, there is no proposal nor engagement
with hades identity as mal’s father being common knowledge, the attack/escape attempt hits mal even harder than in the film. her guilt is apparent, as well as some sense of betrayal at the fight between them. it’s not a power draining that she mentions when asked if ok, but the fact that her father just fought her with his ember
she also knows hades could’ve taken her out and chose not to when he saw her waning. it does little to mend the emotional wound at the time, but it’s something her mind lingers on when there is discussion closing the barrier forever.
the only reason mal is in the room when the attacks/barrier are being discussed is because she’s on the court for reasons mentioned in my descendants 2 divergence and because her parents were both involved in attacks on auradon
i’m not sure why evie wasn’t there, as she was also a liaison for the isle and vks, but i will have it set in my canon that she was likely helping the new vks get settled in. that said, this is always up for plotting with evies, including saying that evie was in fact there because canon has no rights
while she doesn’t voice it, mal knows that uma didn’t take the crown and scepter. it’s just not uma’s style
the barrier being closed forever was never mal’s idea. that came from beast, belle, and fairy godmother trying to manipulate mal’s guilt into her proposing it first, which she doesn’t. instead, they are forced to voice it themselves. and, while she doesn’t fight it as hard as she should have, she never actually agrees to it
mal tells evie everything that happened at the meeting, and instead of sitting there and letting evie assume things, she’s fully honest about how she should’ve fought harder for the isle
it’s when audrey shows up with the crown and scepter that mal truly realizes the damage and pain she has caused her. an apology is attempted, but mal is cut off and spelled before she can get it out
obviously mal knows how big cerberus is, and yes he’s totally a thing in the movie but also so is the record of his barking as the real cerberus is in the underworld in auradon
basically ignore any moment were mal seems clueless about hades or the underground, since she was raised there by her father
also any shock from others that hades is her dad, as this is common knowledge
and we retcon any mention of hades abandoning mal as a baby because that’s not my canon
instead the conversation is more focused on the attack at the barrier and mal leaving hades in the dust when she chose good, thus sorta retconning a majority of the lyrics of ‘do what you gotta do’. not the whole song, just a good chunk of the lyrics
mal never refers to herself as a dragon
the renewed malice mal feels towards uma is fully based in distrust and her own insecurities that have had time to grow and fester from the end of descendants 2 to the point were uma returns in descendants 3
the spell mal uses on the nights is the result of training in spellcraft with hecate in order to gain better control over her dark fairy magic. the same goes for any spells used in the film by mal
mal doesn’t brush off the fact that they do end up going with uma’s plan, instead giving her the credit she deserved despite her own feelings towards the pirate
when apologizing to uma, mal actually does use the words “i’m sorry”
not super important, but mal is actually very into ben’s fangs
when it comes to mal revealing the truth of the barrier situation, the major point of argument and anger is that mal made the deal with uma knowing she couldn’t back it up. that it was a lie and she knew it, and that by making the deal, she made a liar out of evie as collateral damage (as evie had backed up mal’s word with her own). it’s not that she lied to evie, but that she used her and let her believe she was going to fight harder to uphold her end of the deal
evie: “you lied to jay. you lied to carlos. and you made a liar out of me.”
the only reason mal resorts to using her dragon to fight audrey is due to her loss of hades’ ember and fear she wouldn’t be strong enough in her normal form. the moment uma helps her reignite the ember, mal powers down the dragon and fights against the staff purely with the ember and her own godly power
the decision to take the barrier down was made in the room when audrey was unconscious and they were waiting on hades to help them wake her. belle, beast, and fairy godmother were not involved with the decision, and it was instead a discussion between ben, the core four, and the sea three
when mal finally apologizes to audrey, she gets the entire “i’m sorry” tacked onto it
the barrier is not brought down entirely, but instead replaced by a new spell to allow all children and select parents (based on a measure of how they’ve changed and statements from their children) to travel back and forth from auradon to the isle. villains who chose to use their time on the isle to be abusive and stay bitter remain on the isle, which is updated and cleaned up to better promote reformation and rehabilitation. villains that possess magic and have been granted auradon access have their powers bound for a probationary period, directly linked to their crimes and character statements from their children and/or those they interacted with commonly on the isle. trials become a thing, as does parole. villains still on the isle are regularly checked on to see if they’ve made the changes to grant them any level of freedom to auradon. a process that is overseen by a board of members made up of both aks and vks

GAIA
NAME/ALIASES. UTP AGE & BIRTH DATE. Prehistoric & UTP SPECIES. Aspect & Paragon GENDER & PRONOUNS. Female & She/Her or She/They AFFILIATIONS. UTP OCCUPATION. UTP
History
Paragon and goddess, Azathoth brought her and her sisters into creation and together they built the bedrock of the World Tree that would someday be called Faerûn. She and her fellow paragons birthed the goblins that were to the Underdark what the elves would someday be to the land above. Gaia wed the draconic deity Azharul and from him bore the next generation of dragons: Oztalun and Tiamat, the elder dragon Azharul had a habit however of consuming his own offspring, so Gaia stole the twin dragons away in secret and fed Azharul stones instead. In private she raised them, reared them, and then taught them how to cut off the centre of the elder dragon’s power. Gaia, paragon and mother of earth saw the creature fall after being forced to watch for years as he consumed their children, grateful to watch him burn she recused herself from matters of the World Tree. Even as the toys of her children, the elves, rose up against the Great Old Ones, Gaia took no part in the war. Gods did not truly die, but they could suffer, and these were lessons that children had to learn.
As a paragon, Gaia’s power was inherently tied to the well being of the realm, at her height the Dawn Court blanketed the realm under Oberon and Hyrsam’s control, and at her weakest it was under the dominion of the Elder Evil’s and her own children. Gluttonous kids who only knew how to take, leaving the earth barren and fruitless, their defeat was another lesson that they were made to learn. When asked to fight alongside the Seldarine, she refused, but it was the healed heart of her son, Oztalun that permitted the creation of the Inferno through her depths. Gaia let the prison be built into the bedrock of her true form, as the body she manifested upon the walking realm was an avatar. Her true shape was beneath the Otherworld, beneath even the Underdark that had formed over her, Gaia the paragon, a city of goblins, magic and innovation with her essence the beating heart of the realm beneath the realms. The mother of many and the friend to few, her intentions and motivations have always been her own. Once again her children Oztalun and Tiamat have risen, squabbling spawn contesting for rights, even after all this time it seems that they have lessons that need to be learned.
Connections
Amphitrite: Related in the non-traditional sense, the earth and the seas go hand in hand.
Hyrsam: At the height of Gaia's power, Hyrsam and his father ruled the mortal realm alongside the dawn court.
Archfiends: Servants of her children or relatives in some way, original vampires are nieces and nephews to her, and the devils of the Inferno were stored within a portion of her true body.
Abilities
Immortal: Gaia's true form is the paragon beneath the mortal realm, the avatar she manifests can be destroyed but will only reform in time.
Nymph: All the strengths of a nymph.
Clairvoyant: Able to tell when a person is lying and foresee certain events before they transpire.
Esoteric Earth Manipulation: Able to cast spells and curses through the esoteric applications of all things associated with the earth: stones, minerals, trees, and plants.
Weaknesses
Paragon: Gaia's immortality is tied to her true body, if the mortal realm dies, she will die with it and vice versa.
Divine: Incapable of telling a lie, Gaia has all the weaknesses of a nymph. Her source is her true body.
Coven: A coven of witches working in tandem can bind her to her avatar or banish her entirely for a period of time.
Profound: The blood of a paragon is one of the most prized resources in the supernatural world.
THIS SKELETON BELONGS TO ZEN

I will bring back the post I made explaining more about me, and this body. Like last time, third person.
First, to avoid confusion, mortals "affiliated" to a God or Goddess bear their name, and their abilities and appearance depend on which one has chosen them, although it is always the same as one of their parents. For example, Crâ is the Goddess of archers, and the Crâ are the people/race under her rule.
In the world she is from, Éliatrope, or the Great Goddess, the incarnation of Wakfu, the energy of life and creation, is the one who created the world egg, the Krosmoz, from a dance with the Great Dragon. One day, she desired children, and seduced the Great Dragon into another dance, this one creating six eggs, the Primordial Dofus, each bearing an Éliatrope child and a dragon inside. She chose a planet to raise them on, where only they were present, and from there the people developed, governed by the Council of the Six (or Twelve if you count their dragon siblings).
However, that was a great fault, as she transgressed one of the great Divine Laws, decided before even the creation of Time: their powers depending on how many followers they have, no God had the right to take a world for themselves to create life. Even if she did not want power, and only did it so her children could live in peace without killing each other, she still violated the rule.
The Éliatropes lived in peace for a time, until a war broke out with a traveling people who landed on their planet, where they managed to run away just in time. However, the Great Goddess never answered their prayers, leaving them in fear. Éliatrope had been judged by the other Gods and banished to the Necroworld for breaking a Divine Law.
While it is not uncommon for the Gods to descend to the mortal plane and have children with mortals, they can do something else rarely; incarnate into a mortal. They leave a part of their soul in them, unbeknownst to them, until they grow up and "unlock" their powers; they are both themselves and the God/Goddess who has incarnated themselves in them.
But being banished to the Necroworld, it should not be feasible for Éliatrope to do so. However, when almost 10 years ago [body] first read about her, something immediately clicked in him. He had always felt longing for the Krosmoz and the World of the Twelve, especially the ability to use Wakfu and create portals like Éliatropes, and an attachment to dragons. And when he read about her... it felt like reading about him. That past, those powers. Even the overwhelming presence of blue in his life and it being his favorite color, the color of Wakfu. El being present in his deadname, his middle name and his true name, and a sound that always felt nice to his ears. He knew he was her in some way.
However it was before he transitioned, and while he had no problem before, he pushed it away for a long time, because it reminded him too much of everything he did NOT want to be. But lately, he has thought about the Krosmoz more and... the feelings came back. Just the other day he watched 12 episodes of the animated Wakfu series, feeling like home. He felt great sadness when negative things happened to the main character, an Éliatrope. Great anger at the one leeching Wakfu from living things to fuel his plans. He has started to once again embrace and love this side of him. He hopes that by doing research he can somehow figure out how and why she did it.

call of duty OC (Skadi's MW AU)
template adapted from this:
Main Stats
Name: Sigrid "Skadi" Tanzer
Explanation: Skadi's the Norse goddess of winter and hunting. Sigrid earned her nickname for how cold she appears during missions and for her intimidating nature.
Born: Feb. 14, 1990 in Munich, Germany (age 33 as of 2023)
Gender: Non-Binary (she/her)
Orientation: Pansexual
Race: White
Citizenship: dual; German and Norwegian
Residence: Ålesund, Norway
Affiliations: trained with the FSK, was a trainer for the Jegertroppen (of NORSOF), serves with Task Force 141
Rank: Sergeant
Appearance
FC: Olga Kurylenko's makeup (as Etain in Centurion) + Rhea Ripley (face & body minus the tattoos)
she is a 5'8.5" (1.79 m) female with a fit build, though she has slim hips and muscular thighs. She has a relatively pale complexion, so her dark brown eyes and straight, jet-black hair stand out in stark contrast. Her typical hairstyle is a pixie cut with some growth in the back. Like everyone in the life of a special forces officer, her body is tacked with scars. Skadi's only tattoo is that of a minimalist wolf on her right forearm.
Personality
she’s one of those “hard outside, soft inside” people. Skadi's been bullied by a good number of people, so she has gotten tough over the years, learning to appreciate herself for who she is. She doesn’t trust others easily (assuming that there is always a trick hidden behind acts of kindness), but she does tend to have a soft spot for small children and animals. In fact, while on leave, she often takes injured animals to her home for veterinary care. During her downtime, Skadi also knits and reads about various ancient cultures.
Abilities
Battlefield Prowess: known more for her strength and endurance than her agility or her teamwork; prefers sniper rifles & knives Handedness: Ambidextrous (missing ring finger on left hand) Languages: German, Norwegian, English
Background
After Skadi was born, her mother, Eir, abandoned her daughter with the girl’s father, Theodor, and never returned. So Theodor raised Skadi, his "Wolfsmädchen [wolf girl]", happy to have what turned out to be an intelligent girl who loved learning almost as much as she loved being outside. He'd take her hunting with him when he was older, and she quickly realized that all creatures are in the same struggle to survive. This made her forever reverent when it comes to nature, not to mention just kindhearted in general. Unfortunately, Skadi was bullied about her height and her more reserved attitude, and it became unbearable after her father died in an accident. She went to Norway to find her mother–and found Eir with a family of her own. Long story short, Skadi chose to stay there for the scenery (at least, that's what she tells herself) and ended up getting into wrestling, something her father's family had taught her the basics of since she was fairly young. Wrestling turned into her serving under an "Aunt Frida" in the Norwegian Special Ops, which led to her training members of the all-female Jegertroppen. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, she got a tattoo to memorialize her father, lost her left ring finger, received the call sign "Skadi", and lost respect for a good amount of humanity.

Misery
Sadistic!Yandere!Diluc x Fatui Harbinger!GN!reader
Wordcount: 6748
CW: torture, sex, foul language, isolation, sensory deprivation, extremely unhealthy relationships, dubcon, mindbreak, violence
Diluc isn’t a cruel person. Not necessarily. He punishes you only when you are difficult and for the last few weeks you tried to stay on your best behavior. Ragnvindr is nice to you, benevolent even, willing to look past your former affiliations and shower you with love. At times his affections seem suffocating and irking, blood red eyes following your every movement and him absorbing your every word as if it is a holy scripture, but you remind yourself that his love is the best thing that happened to you in your whole life.
Truly, Diluc is so kind to take you in and help you fix the errors of your old ways, even when you were snarling and spitting insults in his face, too stubborn to see how wrong your old life was. You were ignorant and ungrateful back then, seeing nothing but a Harbinger title and service to Tsaritsa. You forced Diluc to lock you up to make you realize that you didn't need your title or your vision or your archon. He is there for you and it's all that matters, you can rely on him for everything and he is happy to provide, persistent in his care for you and even now he is patient with your… deficiencies, waiting when you stop staring into the distance with vacant eyes.
You stand in front of an open but barred window, a typically Mondstadtian landscape revealed to you - bright green grass and patches of dandelions and windwheel asters growing in small groups with tall trees of the same shade finishing the picture. A gentle breeze flows through the opening, playing with your hair and caressing your skin, yet you imagine another type of wind - stronger and colder, relentless and carrying small snowflakes on the way. You close the eyes and see another image - tall, leafless trees covered by multiple layers of snow and the white ground between them. Snow shines and glitters under the pale winter sun, and you feel alive and bitter at the same time.
You know the place, having been there once, but your memory now is too blurry and fuzzy. All of the events prior to Diluc fixing you up are too foggy to make out the finer details and it somehow makes you feel sad, when you should be grateful instead. Tears well up in your eyes, and you can’t make them stop, rapidly going from silent crying to full on hysterics.
You hear Diluc asking what’s wrong with a concern in his voice, his hands slightly shaking your crying form. You can’t answer him, wailing even louder and stronger, hiding your face in both hands, ashamed from the sudden outburst and overwhelmed from unreasoned sorrow and heartache. Only when Ragnvindr painfully squeezes both of your shoulders and demands to know what is wrong with you in that tone that makes you shiver and gasp, do you stop, looking at him with wide scared eyes, hands that were used to cover your face, are now up in the air in a semi defensive stance.
He seems uncomfortable by your reaction, a slight frown appearing on his face, scarlet brows knit together and corners of mouth turned downward. “I am sorry”, you say, voice small and pleading, eyes casted aside not meeting his out of embarrassment. Why did you start to act so childish out of the blue?
“There’s nothing to apologize”, Diluc takes off the glove, using an uncovered hand to wipe away the tear tracks from your cheeks. There’s no irritation in his voice, just concern, so you risk a glance at him, as he continues: “You are just making me worry”
“I am sorry” you repeat, feeling a prick to your heart, as you process his words - Ragnvindr is so good to you, providing with everything you could ever ask of, and here you are, making him concerned and anxious over some silly daydreams. “It’s really nothing, I just need to be more attentive, that’s it”
You noticed that it’s harder for you to stay in the moment as you start to frequently space out, mind too occupied by the memories of days long past - playing with peers, entering Fatui, receiving a delusion. It’s a futile thing, but images still consume all of your attention and focus, keeping you from sleeping and eating.
“[First], I...” he starts, but then trails off, huffing to mask his hesitancy. Instead of talking he takes your face in one hand and leans in, his lips meeting yours. It's a slow and gentle kiss at first, but just like all other things with Diluc it quickly escalates into something more: his hands now take you by your waist and tug you closer to him, making you press with your entire chest against him, and he deepens the kiss, his tongue freely exploring the confines of your mouth as you moan into his from pleasure and such close proximity.
When you two part, Diluc leaves you flushed and dizzy, with heart quickly pounding against the ribcage. You feel a fire of arousal igniting inside of you, it travels from your chest to belly and soon spreads to the rest of the body. Your cheeks heat up as you stand up on tiptoes to whisper “Can we do it right now?” in Diluc’s ear, voice full of both shame and anticipation.
“Of course, my dear”, there are hints of a smile in his tone and he effortlessly lifts you up and heads for the bedroom and as he carries you you can’t help but zone out again, the memories of past days flashing in your mind.
***
Your first meeting happens during one winter night, as you receive the order to deal with him day prior, at a Harbinger meeting in the Zapolyarny palace. Eleven of you stay kneeling in the main hall, awaiting for Her Majesty to come in as Scaramouche and Tartaglia start to bicker as usual.
“I bet it’s about that mysterious person who’s destroying one stronghold after the other” Childe starts, voice full of bravado and smugness, fake smile blooming on his face: “Fortunately, Tsaritsa has me to take on whatever this stranger is”.
“I wouldn’t be so cocky if I were you, Tartaglia”, Scaramouche remarks, almost spitting out the last word.
“Why shouldn’t I? I am the youngest here, yet I am also the strongest. Why are you so upset? Feeling envious of my power?” Childe retorts, voice still sounding too cheery to be natural.
“If there was anything to envy. You may be the best at fighting among us, but it’s the only thing you are good at”.
“Huh, it seems I was wrong. Maybe little Scaramouche wants to be as tall as me and that’s why he spits out his funny silly slander”.
It must have struck the nerve, as Scaramouche snaps back with an angry tirade, from which their exchange escalates into a heated battle of barely hidden insults. You, just as the rest of other Harbingers listen to their conversation, half amused and half irritated, lifting the brows at the creative mockings.
“Silence”, domineering and overpowering voice says and you still yourself, eyes casted downwards, as Childe and Scaramouche stop their exchange at the same moment. Footsteps echo throughout the hall, as a feminine figure takes its place on a high throne in the middle of the hall. Tsaritsa has arrived.
“As I can see my children already know about the perpetrator attacking my servants” archon starts, divine power and absolute authority evident in each syllable. You feel how the deity’s eyes look at all of you, despite still keeping head bowed and stance obedient.
“Innamorati”, you hear your title and lift up your gaze, ready to take whatever order the Goddess has for you.
“I entrust you with this task, don’t disappoint me”.
***
Diluc is not a coward and he never was one, but now he can’t help but feel a pang of fear, looking at your approaching form.
“Let’s test our delusions, shall we?”, you almost purr, voice soft, silken smooth and full of unspoken threat. It sends shivers down his spine, yet he still equips this cursed thing and braces himself for the upcoming battle.
There’s a stillness in your moves, a confidence that whatever Diluc has in his arsenal, you can endure and answer with something deadly in return. This dangerous calm both disturbs and excites young Ragnvindr.
He lashes out on you with a stream of accursed chains, filling the air with the sickly sweet scent of mist grass. You easily side step his attack, letting out a cheerless laugh and then come back with a cold gust, frost air currents easily cutting through his skin.
He barely dodges the attack, slowly registering the pain from injury. It’s a shallow cut and a testament to your strength, Diluc thinks, as he touches the scrape, marvelling at your speed. In the end, Diluc can’t stand against you - you’re stronger, have more experience and infinitely faster than him, bringing down one overwhelming attack after the other, a catalyst shining and glowing as you do so.
He jumps and ducks and runs, avoiding one hit after the other, yet there's only so much his body can do. Soon his limbs grow heavier and his breathing labored, Diluc slows down and that's when your attack finally strikes him. It pierces his body, pools of blood quickly forming under him.
Diluc falls down, his battered body no longer able to stand. Memories and regrets alike flood his mind, reminding him of deeds he wishes he did and deeds he wishes he didn’t. He remembers his childhood - all daydreams and high hopes, the world around him bright and friendly. He remembers his father's dying face and Kaeya’s guilt-ridden expression. He remembers overwhelming helplessness and grief transforming into righteous anger and hate.
It all seems so pointless now - leaving the Mondstadt, breaking all bonds with Kaeya or spending years in a mindless massacre, satiating his thirst for revenge by destroying one Fatui stronghold after the other, with no regard for his body or spirit. What was the point of it all, if he's still there, lying and bleeding to death, as you look down on him?
He throws, what he thinks, the last glance at the world, a strange thought appearing in his mind as he looks at you: I want them. As Diluc's consciousness fades he misses a sound of an observer's footsteps.
Later, as he gets saved by the said third party’s observer, who commented and praised Diluc’s methods, he replays the encounter in his mind, getting confused at this particular thought. Why would he want you? Maybe he wants you to die or maybe he wants to see you defeated, but in no way he sees you as desirable. In the end he blames everything on his oxygen deprived brain at the time, explaining the strange attraction he felt for you at that moment.
Having a near death experience and a taste of his own dying regrets, he decides to return to Mondstadt and as he does, thoughts about you continue to pester him. They fly around and buzz, reminding Diluc of your face, eyes and voice, of your body and skills and that terrifying speed you attacked him at. He swats them away like a noisy, annoying flies, suppressing and burying feelings deep, deep down, and naming his interest in you “a desire for revenge and retribution”.
***
Your second meeting happens once the news of a sudden Stormterror attack reaches Tsaritsa’s ears - a perfect opportunity for acquiring anemo archon’s gnosis and a new step in her rebellion against Celestia. She thinks about sending La Signora at first, as your fellow Harbinger is fast and ruthless, able to complete a job no matter the cost, but soon archon changes her mind and picks you instead. For secrecy and subterfuge, she adds, don’t disappoint me.
I won't, you promise more to yourself than her, as Tsaritsa never asks but orders. With your head bowed in deep respect and the heavy gaze of the goddess on your form, you decide that you will do your best to bring cryo archon's vision into reality. You are dispatched to Mondstadt the same week, first by ship, then by carriage. Pristine white landscapes of Snezhnaya quickly morph into bright Mondstadtian green, and you finally arrive.
Despite or maybe because of Mondstadt having almost nothing similar with Snezhnaya, it steals a breath from you for a moment - city stands on a lone isle in the middle of deep blue lake, tall windmills and bright red roofs seen from a distance, along with a giant statue of Barbatos blessing the city.
Acting Grandmaster Jean greets you, her stern blue eyes intently observing you, as she says standard Favonius salute and you return your own cliche lines - about Tsaritsa’s concern and a peacekeeping mission, empty phrases that don’t elaborate on what actually Fatui will do. She fails to suppress a frown upon hearing it, sensing your real intentions, but you pay it no mind - Jean has no way or reason strong enough to ban you from Mondstadt without causing a diplomatic conflict.
You turn on the heels after brief negotiations, heading for the Goth Grand Hotel, mind already full of plans and schemes of obtaining the Gnosis. Before you departed, Tsaritsa shared a very interesting fact to you - throughout the centuries Barbatos used only one mortal form, disguising himself as a young cheerful bard named Venti. You dispatch a couple of agents and cicin mage to look for a person fitting the description, and then turn your attention to the rest of the fatuis.
You scold Anastasia for unprofessional rudeness towards Jean. “We need to maintain a benevolent image”, you say to her, right before demoting her and temporarily sending her off to Dragonspine as a punishment. Under your rule fatuis cease sneering and belittling Mondstadt in public, lessening no doubt growing ire of locals.
All goes well, until several events happen. Stormterror attacks the city and some blonde foreigner fights off the dragon, wielding mind blowingly strong anemo powers and riding the wind, like a flying bird. Then your agents finally find a bard, reporting that “Venti" prefers to spend a considerable amount of both time and mora in two local taverns - Angel’s Share and Cat’s tail.
You don civilian clothing, heading for the former tavern and send off a couple of other disguised agents to the latter one. Now, stripped of your mask and harbinger attire, citizens stop gawking and staring at you, their eyes passing your form, as you make your way as an ordinary passerby.
No one pays you attention, as you enter the tavern, save for the strange six fingered bard at the entrance. He tries to sell you his performance, but you wave him off, heading for the bar. And here you see him again - you recognize the unknown attacker, his bright red hair and eyes betraying him the same second. Your faces mirror in recognition as a tense silence settles between you.
“So what is Fatui doing in this tavern?”he asks loudly and half of the customers stop drinking and stare at you. You sigh “enjoying” the atmosphere he created, and utter a premade excuse: “Mondstadt is known for its wine industry and the best wines are sold by Dawn Winery. It would be a shame if I left the city without tasting its finest drinks first”.
You glance at the red gem on his collar, an obvious heirloom of a famous clan: “Didn’t know that Ragnvindr heir would spend his days working as a bartender. You must be Diluc, then. Am I right?". He doesn't dignify you with an answer, preferring to wipe the glasses and serve other customers, his eyes still observing you from time to time.
You quit the tavern early, as “Venti”, as it turns out, leaves the same second he hears about your presence. You order agents to spy on him, waiting for the right opportunity to strike, that you don't get a chance to act on.
You get attacked by Diluc on your way to the Windrise tree, where according to your intel, Barbatos decided to go. He slowly pulls out his claymore and you notice a difference between old and current him.
He is calm this time, his movements lacking fervent hatred and anger that was present during your first battle. He must have gotten stronger then, if he feels so confident, entering a battle with you. Or grown foolish, your mind supplies.
You start to fight, exchanging one blow for another, as he surprises you - there's no barbed chains rushing into your direction, only an orange light fire surrounding the claymore. A pyro vision dangles on his waist, glowing and shining as he activates it's powers. You masterfully dodge his hits, shooting combined anemo and cryo attacks from the catalyst.
Suddenly you step on a burning grass, and hiss and close your eyes from the sudden pain. Diluc uses this time to disarm you, his heavy claymore crushing a delicate catalyst into small pieces. It happens so fast, that you are left speechless at the sudden turn of the battle tides.
With no weapon left, all you can do is dodge and run - you almost reach the city again. it’s walls become visible as you do your best to push your body beyond limits, fatigue weighing down on every muscle. Diluc sends a phoenix - a damn phoenix! - on your way. Fire licks your skin and scorches ends of your hair, but you manage to dodge it too - if only by a small chance - and fall to the ground, mind drifting off to the unconscious world.
***
You come up to your senses slowly and gradually; first there are sensations - a rough rope around your wrists, wet, yet rugged stone walls, then the smells, tastes and sounds - stale, musty air, a coppery blood on your tongue and a shift of a fabric, and then the images at last - dark basement and a bright red blotch, that after a time becomes a head.
There’s a man sitting beside you, Diluc Ragnvindr, your memory supplies. You feel calm and confused for a moment until you remember the fight you both had. Seems, he finally overpowered you.
“You are awake” he says, voice grim and quiet.
“It seems I am. Let me guess, you dragged me here because you want to know what this big bad harbinger plans to do?”. Control your breathing, don’t let him hear the tremble of your voice, don’t let him see the fear in your eyes.
He looks at you with an unreadable gaze and you hold his stare, looking absolutely untroubled in return, a knowing and somewhat self-confident smirk playing in your lips. No matter his status in Mondstadt, Diluc kidnapped you, one of the fatui Harbingers and a close associate of Tsaritsa. His action, no doubt, will force Fatui to severe action, an action that neither his nation nor his people will be able to withstand.
“Think bigger”, he finally says: “I don’t care what you planned to do. I already have you here, weak and helpless. No, what I want is intel on what your goddess and organization are after”.
“Oh, mister Diluc, you want to play a big game? It’s dangerous in case you didn’t know. Maybe after I tell you all of our wicked plans, you will wish you had never asked” you purr, sensing how it grates his nerves, despite him keeping his face and stance impassive.
“How so?”
“Tsaritsa is the greatest of all seven, her vision is absolute. Even if you learn of her plans I doubt you will be able to stop any of them”.
“I asked what the plans were, not what you think of cryo archon”. Diluc’s voice becomes a tone louder, the already present frown on his face subtly deepening.
“Then I am afraid you won’t get any from me”.
He suddenly gets closer to you, his hand yanking you by your head. You hiss, trying to free the bound hands, as he drags you to a nearby barrel with water by hair and then he dips you in it. You instinctively jerk in his hold, a cold water seeping in your nose and mouth as he holds you underwater. Ten second passes, twenty, thirty, you jerk again, your head throbbing and aching from the lack of air, he pulls you upwards.
You nearly black out from the abrupt change, gulping down in the air and coughing out water. He repeats his question and you deny him again. He dips you more, each time becoming a bit longer than the last, only to repeat his query. You lose how many times he lowered you into liquid, absolutely wet and shivering now, when he finally stops and ties you up to the same place you woke up to.
“We will continue tomorrow, I have business to attend to. I suggest you use this time to rethink whether you want to tell me Tsaritsa’s plans or not, as I can get much worse” He heads for the exit from the basement, as you greedily inhale the air.
“Wait”, you say, still breathing heavily: “Aren’t you afraid of the punishment? You kidnapped me, a harbinger, and then proceeded to torture me. Tsaritsa will have your head for this slight against her.”
“Tsaritsa won’t find out. Your Harbingers won’t find out. No one will find out if there’s no evidence”. He steps closer to you, his voice becoming firmer with each word.
“And how do you think you will manage to hide the evidence? You left the knights years ago, you are nothing but a businessman at this point. I doubt they will cover up for you”.
“How did..”
“Oh, Diluc, people talk and I am very, very nosy. That girl, Donna, she told so much to my subordinates about you ”, you mock her, imitating her high breathy manner: “Oh Diluc, he was the youngest captain, but then he left. I wonder why he left? Maybe the knights wronged him!”
“Honestly, with the amount of ire you subject poor knights to, only a deaf and a blind won’t know about how much you despise Favonius Order'', you continue, anger and hatred seeping into your voice.
“I still have connections”, he says absolutely nonchalantly.
“Oh, do you bribe them, then? You criticize the knights for being corrupt, yet you are willing to ask them to hide my abduction? It’s a bit hypocritical, isn’t it?”
Diluc doesn’t answer this time, finally stepping out of the room and locking the door. You sit alone in a dimly lit room, water still all over you and heart quickly beating in your chest, trying to calm down. Later, when your heartbeat stops booming in your own ears, you pray to Tsaritsa, asking Goddess to grant you strength and endurance.
***
You manage to doze off once your clothes are almost dry. The dreams you see are vague and murky, dripping with a sense of unease and anxiety, you see dark silhouettes that morph into looming shadows that later transform into phantasmagorical monsters. It must be why you wake up the same second door opens with Diluc entering the room.
He looks grimmer now, more determined. You brace yourself for his hands tugging at your hair again and lungs burning from lack of oxygen, but none of it comes. He uses a dagger to slice your clothes off, careful not to damage skin underneath. Out of pure nerves you quip some stupid joke about dining first, but he pays you no mind, his hands soon touching your bare legs and looks at them with a filthy stare, his red eyes consuming revealed flesh.
You still under his stare, heart pounding as you try to distract yourself from the thoughts of what he might do to you right now. Almost a minute passes, when he finally stops staring at your legs and begins to move his arms, caressing your inner side of the thigh instead.
You shift from the discomfort, alarmed when his palms start to heat up. He wants to burn me, you think and barely stop yourself from screaming by biting your lip. A disgusting smell of burnt flesh fills up your nose as tears start to travel down your face. He removes the hand, revealing two angry red imprints with a collection of small blisters already forming. Diluc, again, asks the same question, and just like the last time you refuse to answer.
He does upkeep his threat of becoming much worse, with his hands burning your naked body - he targets sensitive spots or joints,so everytime you shift or move they throb and burn, disturbed at the smallest of motions.
“You're not the one to think about the consequences, are you?”, you ask when he finishes, voice quiet and raspy from screaming.
"No one will find you".
"I am one of the Tsaritsa's most trusted servants, of course they will find me", you pretend you don't hear desperation in your own voice.
"Time will show", Diluc says philosophically, looking as gentlemanly as possible despite him torturing you seconds ago.
"Yes, it will", you agree with him, picturing the bastard's face once he gets thrown in prison.
He leaves the room and you allow yourself to slump, careful not to move burned areas too much, and then he returns again, this time with food and medicine. He works fast at bandaging and disinfecting the burns, seems he is as intent at patching you up, as he is at tearing you apart. As he swathes another burn, you look at the brought food.
It’s unlikely he would drug it to make you tell the truth, given that he already tortures you and he doesn’t seem to be a type to play mind games. It still could be laced with poison though, not lethal one, that would be counterproductive, but the one that can cause pain and tremors all over your body. You’ve seen such substance at work once, when Il Dottore decided to show you the fruits of his experiments - victims were thrashing and shaking on the floor once a five minute mark had been passed, by the twentieth they already admitted to all crimes, regardless of how innocent they were.
It might be even a new torture method, devised by Diluc, just to strip you from the short respite when you are not in pain. He finally looks up to you, finishing the bandage, noticing the stare you look at the food with. "It's not poisoned" he guesses your thoughts, taking a small bite and a sip to prove his words. A minute passes, then the second and the third ones, nothing happens with him, no blushing or paling skin, no wide blown or pinprick pupils, nothing. It still could be a slow acting poison, but you doubt it - they're usually harder to cure, Diluc wouldn't willingly consume it given the long list of aftereffects that remain even after antidote was administered.
Thankfully, he doesn’t stay to feed you, leaving you with food alone. It’s a potato hash browns, absolutely unseasoned and cold. You almost swallow them whole from hunger, realizing how starved you are once the smell of food reaches you. After a day(?) of fasting, satiation hits you full force, drowsiness pulling at every muscle. The tableware he brought is metallic and easily bends, so you can't smash it and use sharp pieces, nor are there any utensils to weaponize. You lay down on the side, as something falls on you. It's a stone.
Your hands take it, feeling its shape - mostly smooth with one angular protrusion. It's not sharp or pointed enough for you to cut through the bindings, but with enough time and effort it can break the rope with friction alone. You begin to work, grating the rope again and again, fighting off the sleepiness.
***
Diluc nods to Adelinde, as he returns from Mondstadt after signing the contract with winesellers from Inazuma. She understands this wordless gesture, starting to talk: “The.. guest you brought has eaten, last time I checked they still were awake. I did my best to be quiet, master Diluc”.
He dismisses her, thanking for her observations and decides to go down himself. A strange sort of fascination fills him, as he turns the key in the lock, that also prompts a burning shame that he grew accustomed to in the last few days.
It’s an awful thing, to find pleasure in another’s suffering - a trait of a heartless monster, as his father once said, but despite the chagrin he still can’t help but feel a quickening of the pulse as a pained whimper escapes your lips. It’s addicting honestly, to have you of all people, naked and trembling and helpless at his total control, when you were so close to ending his life just a couple of months ago. He supposes it's a type of karmic punishment to you, a fatui harbinger, no doubt a killer and horrible person - you deserve it, he tells to himself - you deserve it for being a fatui.
Moreover, you are not only a terrible, terrible person that deserves much more gruesome torture that he allows, you are also a source of priceless information - how many lives will be saved and avenged if you just tell him what fatuis plan to do. You are a harbinger, you are bound to know something, unlike most of the fatui.
Diluc carefully glances at you as he enters - you are still sitting in the same spot he left you in, head slumped low and shoulders relaxed. It seems you are asleep. He still makes his way to you, steps slow and quiet. Your hands are bound with rope and Diluc knows how much the rough fiber pulls and chafes at skin, grating it to the blood and ropeburns - he needs to use this short respite to quickly disinfect and bandage you again.
Diluc crouches down, as you twitch and then something aims for his head, he flinches a second too slow to dodge. You nearly manage to hit him right in the temple. His head almost splits in half from the burst of pain, vision blurry and disoriented.
You quickly stand, enduring the pain from the burns and make your way to the room. Diluc runs after you, panic and anger distorting his face in equal manner - he can’t let anyone see you like that! - but you manage to lock him in using his own keys. He kicks and thrashes the door, angry at himself for not carrying claymore with him, as something loudly collides with the wall at the other side. He hears a short surprised yelp and whimper - your whimper and the too familiar footsteps descending down the stairs- Adelinde.
“Master Diluc? Is everything okay?”, the headmaid unlocks the room, concern in her voice:”I saw.. the guest running out of the basement, so I pushed them back before other maids could see”
“Everything is fine, check on the Harbinger, I still need intel”.
Turns out, you blacked out upon the impact, a small trail of blood making its way down the head. Diluc is still angry at you, head throbbing and hurting, his hands itching to hit and burn you, but he can’t allow himself to lose control: you are hurt and he doesn’t want to kill you.
In the end, it’s all predictable, Diluc muses, you are an animal first and human second, your allegiance testament to that. He was too soft, too forgiving on you and you decided to twist his kindness like a blade in the back. His head still hurts, but he finally calms, reasoning your attack as an outlash of a mindless beast.
He carries your limp body in hands, finally taking out of the basement and takes you to one of the guest rooms at the second floor of the winery - it’s a risky move, but you injured your head and in Diluc’s experiences such traumas almost always carry a great risk - maybe you will even forget who you are and there’ll be no one for Diluc to interrogate to.
Placing your body on the bed he clasps a cuff around each of your limbs and gags and blindfolds you. After a second, he asks Adelinde for cotton and stuffs your ears full of it.
Human mind stripped of all stimuli is such a dangerous thing, tearing itself apart.
***
You wake up to darkness and silence, head slightly pulsing from pain. You lie on some sort of very soft bed, silk smooth sheets consuming and hugging most of your body as you wiggle your limbs, tugging at the cuffs.
A small wave of panic washes over you, as you remain absolutely blind and deaf to the world, but you try to remain calm, unsure if Diluc is standing near or not. The bindings on your hands are made of iron now, so you soon stop, knowing it's a futile thing. The only thing you can do is wait.
You don't know how much time passes between you regaining consciousness and the air shifting around you. Having been stripped of both sight and hearing, your other senses became a bit sharper, mind focusing on them to compensate. It's a subtle change of pressure but you still feel it, it's enough for you to guess where this person stands. Suddenly hands grope at you, touching and probing the place near burns. You would scream if it wasn’t for the gag, from pain and violation alone. It's a smaller palms, judging by sensations, they change the bandages. After whoever that was finishes patching you they leave you alone, their departure evoking both relief and sadness - they were a source of stimulations, stimulations that your mind desperately needs.
You start to tug at the bindings again - this time to procure pain, just to feel something again. You are bored, you are in pain and you are scared - not the best combination. Soon, you decide to distract yourself from ever increasing boredom with memories. Images of your past life flash and change before you - here’s you playing catch and hide and seek, here’s you receiving a vision, here’s you entering fatui and climbing through the ranks, here's you receiving delusion from Tsaritsa’s own hands and here's you battling Diluc for the first time.
I should have killed him, you think, I should have spent less time talking and more time fighting, the bastard wouldn't live to see another day and I wouldn't be here.
A strange feeling of panic settles in your bones, as you try to occupy yourself, it's subtle but never ending, slowly growing with each second. You try to daydream but you can’t, not when you are cuffed and your body burns. You try to reminisce again, but you can do only so much, memories becoming dull and repetitive. Soon, the subtle panic becomes not so subtle and you realize you are gasping and thrashing, limbs achings as you rub them against the rough shackles.
You must have blacked out or drifted to sleep, because the next time you wake up you feel a bit different - a little cleaner and more sated - they tend to me, when I am unconscious you realize. Diluc wants to limit all interactions I have.
You don't know how much time you spend there in the end, but it has a profound effect on you - at first the concept of sharing fatui plans with your captor seems nonsensical and traitorous, but after a couple of days-weeks(?) of being chained to one place with limited movement and perception, it stops looking like such a bad idea to you.
Time distorts around you, you can't tell how long you were lying there, seconds turning into minutes and minutes into hours and hours into near eternities. At one point you started to cry again, scared and panicked and then you proceeded to scream.
***
Diluc comes to you again, taking out the cotton and blindfold from your person. Your eyes hurt and your head starts to ache again from the rush of noises, and you blink a couple of times to see the man before you. A strange mix of emotions washes over you - you hate Diluc, you truly despise him with every fibre of your being, yet now Diluc is the only person you have, the only person you see. It’s so confusing and overwhelming that you start to cry, unable to process any of the feelings.
Diluc looks as prim and proper as ever, as he shushes your crying and promises to let you go if only you will tell Tsaritsa’s plans. You almost believe him, Fatui secrets dancing at the tip of his mouth, yet you hold on to the pieces of your loyalty, slowly shaking your head. He asks you again, doubt and concern in his voice. It will be better if you tell me, he says, his hand still stroking you, don’t you want to walk and see again?.
His hand stops stroking you, face turning back to stone when you refuse him for the second time. He fixes blindfold and cotton again and part of you is howling - it’s scary, so scary to be left alone with nothing but your thoughts.
This time you start to break far faster, having tasted freedom for a mere second. You break down and tell Diluc everything you know next time he visits. His hand on you feels like salvation and punishment at the same time. At the end of your confession you are too empty, all of your secrets laid before him, no place for sadness or grief left inside of you. You feel whatever was inside of you was scorched off by Diluc and it left you thoroughly burnt. Dead. Made of ash.
“My name is [First]”, you wail and howl, shoulders slightly shaking as you do. You want so much to have some human contact, to hear someone call your name for once.
It’s cathartic in a way, to tell all the secrets your mind has been bustling with ever since becoming a harbinger. He doesn’t flinch or frown when you tell what exactly you witnessed or did, intently listening to each word.
He keeps his promise and uncuffs you from the bed, but you are still not allowed to leave the room, which doesn’t really disappoint you. There are books and a small barred window that opens a view to the wineyard, a feast for the starving mind. You spend at least an hour standing at the window at first, amazed that you can see people working.
He gifts you clothes and other books, assigns a housemaid to look after you, the same one that pushed you down the stairs when you were running away, she doesn’t speak to you, preferring to avoid your gaze.
Sometimes you do feel sad - you betrayed Tsaritsa, you betrayed your homeland, you lost both vision and delusion - but you quickly shove it down, unable to process feelings properly. You know you are defeated, having seen similar behavior from fatui prisoners, and Diluc knows it too, a malice and triumph and satisfaction burning on his eyes, despite the impassive face.
He sees you as a trophy, a reminder of how he reduced the great fatui harbinger to your current condition. He orders you around and punishes when you disobey, calls it reeducation, calls it teaching you how to be a decent person, calls it a punishment for your sins. A part of you wants to retort and point out his own failings, but you stop yourself at the root, unwilling to be stripped from the world again. You comply, you suppress, you break little by little. It all pleases him.
You learn to love what hurt you the most out of pure fear.
***
“First?”, it’s Diluc, shaking you slightly by the shoulders. You snap back to reality, seeing that he already carried you to bed and undressed you.
“I am here, you can continue” you whisper as he leans down to pepper your chest and collarbone with kisses, and then hiss as he bites you.
“Mhm, that’s good,” he says, warm hands traveling down to your thighs, caressing the inner side: “Could you spread them a bit?”
You obey, equally parts scared and excited.
Truly, Diluc is the best thing that happened in your life.
Note: All fatui harbinger names are taken from commedia dell'arte. Innamorati are a couple of lovers, madly in love with each other and with the idea of being in love. I thought it would be ironic.

Background:
She didn't remember a name before Fate.
When she woke up in the courtroom and it was decided that she was under Fate's jurisdiction, having a name didn't really matter compared to the fact that she had died.
The technicalities didn't matter. What mattered now was that she was eligible for a second chance and Fate was willing to give her one.
Well, give them one.
She didn't remember a name, but she remembered them.
Her sisters, just as nameless as she was, but she remembered that she loved them.
After she agreed to become an Agent of Fate, the goddess had left her in the Juror's room to retrieve her sisters, both crashing through the doors in a chaotic haze but she was glad to see them.
Then, she wasn't.
It took two hours of screaming, arguing, cursing, and threatening to kill them very dead for them to create their aliases to which they would enter their new world, armed with only the knowledge of what they had watched on TV.
[ [ Childish I know, but Seiren insisted that it would be Fairy Tail or nothing ] ]
Thus, Kindred Blanche and her two younger siblings was born to the wonderful world of Fiore, in a cottage in Magnolia that had appeared out of thin air along with a nine-year old, a six-year old and a four-year old.
While they had no recollection of who they were in their past lives, they could remember the world they came from vividly and though they were mentally and physically de-aged, they were still mature enough to understand their mission:
They were the Agents of Fate and they were going to change the world.

enhypen genshin impact!au hcs
Tumblr media
characters: enhypen
word count: ~200 words each
warnings: mentions of alcohol for jay’s part, lore inaccuracies (i haven’t caught up on dragonspine event lore yet), spoilers for mondstadt + liyue main quest
a/n: i’m supposed to be working on something else but this brainrot got to me first... anyways, i’m assigning their visions + weapons based off a few fan theories i’ve read~ please enjoy my word dump! :D
more under the cut!
Tumblr media
jungwon
okay so we’re starting off with our leader! hmm... i’d say that he has a geo vision
why? idk, i’m half sure it’s based off how calm and composed he is; i do kinda think jungwon is a picture of maturity and elegance (he literally has to take care of six children wdym)
it was kinda hard for me to choose a weapon because i kept going back-and-forth from sword to polearm, but my final pick for him would be polearm
yes this would mean that he is zhongli
a polearm would probably suit him because i see him as the kind to want some kind of control over his weapon (not saying he can’t control a sword). at the same time i feel like he’d want something lightweight which won’t bring him down
i think he’d work with the knights of favonius. working with the liyue qixing could also work for him, but considering the tension between the adepti and the qixing + the social climate of liyue makes me think that he’d want somewhere more calm
acting grandmaster jungwon? i’m down for it
spends time near the mondstadt church; he likes the peace and quiet of it
Tumblr media
heeseung
from the get-go i knew he’d have a hydro vision
this one theory i’ve read says that hydro vision users have a strong sense of morality and justice (i guess i also interpreted it as balance) and heeseung seems like the kind of person who does
for weapon, i think he’d prefer to use a sword. we see that he’s good in a lot of areas when it comes to being an idol, so he’d perhaps want that versatility in the weapon he uses as well
hello xingqiu (wait i kinda think this fits)
i don’t see him particularly associating himself to any organization, so i think he’d simply be a wanderer. he goes from country to country as a vagabond, battling monsters along the way in order to perfect his skills
at the same time, i also see him making a lot of friends and having a bunch of connections from just about any corner of the land (more to acquaintances i suppose? heeseung doesn’t seem like the kind to let people in very quickly)
is probably very curious on elemental reactions and might be studious in a way; he would want to learn alchemy
likes stopping by mondstadt’s library when he needs to look up on something. probably keeps in contact with alchemists too
Tumblr media
jay
oh man this is going to probably be very stereotypical
pyro vision, hands down. i was considering an electro vision for him at first but the amount of passion he has in doing the things he loves (primarily hip-hop) screams pyro to me
he would also have a claymore because let’s be real, he’d want something to get the job done quick; claymores are literally the weapon that causes the most damage
yeah he’d be diluc. or xinyan. whatever your pick is
bonks monsters for fun, fight me on this
association... i think he’d be a part of the adventurer’s guild. he strikes me as the kind of person who’d want some kind of reward for something he does for fun (in this case, mora. and a bunch of other items you can get from katheryne once you complete your daily commissions)
this is probably how he meets all his friends. if he wasn’t a part of any association, i don’t think he’d have many (not saying that he’s unable to make friends, he’d choose not to unless necessary)
strives to be a well-known adventurer, probably takes up more commissions than the average one
likes spending time in places with good ambience, food, and booze. probably is a regular at angel’s share and liyue’s street food stalls on days he comes to town
Tumblr media
jake
i think he’d have an electro vision. it’s something about the way he fiercely cares for other people that makes me think that this suits him best
okay hear me out but i think he’d be amazing with a bow and arrow. he seems to have the tenacity and upper body strength for it, and i don’t think he’d particularly want something that could do a quick kill, like a sword or claymore per se
uhh... yeah he’d be fischl, i suppose. idk this realization was a bit weird to me but it doesn’t seem so far off from happening
sometimes uses his skills to shoot at fruit from trees; it’s a pretty good party trick
association-wise i don’t think he’d wanna join any, tbh. he’d be an “everyone’s friend” kinda guy. unlike heeseung who’d have acquaintances from all around, jake would generally want to befriend different kinds of people (helps around wangshu inn sometimes because of this)
still though, i think he hangs with members of the adventurer’s guild a lot
don’t be surprised if you catch him befriending a member of the fatui-
i also see him really immersing himself in the culture of each country he visits
he’s the guy who pets all the animals, especially the dogs
also seems like the kind to purchase or collect raw meat just to give to the stray animals he meets on his travels
Tumblr media
sunghoon
oh boy am i excited for this one
okay so i know this is stereotypical but... cryo vision. honestly, having a geo vision would also be possible but remember that one time childe said something around the lines of the goddess of cryo having such a warm heart and she loved so much to the point it froze? yeah i think i’m basing him off the tsaritsa-
weapon would be a sword. i considered choosing a polearm for him but i think he’d want something slightly heavier that would get the job done, but not necessarily a claymore. do i think he has the capacity to use a claymore if he wanted to, though? sure why not
hello kaeya (or qiqi, if you’d wish)
okay okay this is where it gets fun... imagine sunghoon as a member of the fatui
mmm villain!sunghoon we love to see it
he’d honestly probably be on the road to becoming a harbinger? like, we see how he works very hard at ice skating and idol training, who’s to say that he won’t climb up the ranks real quick?
yes jakehoon brotp agenda is still on so they would be friends (though honestly their friendship is kinda uncanny)
when i thought of stuff to write for him i kinda think that he’d like liyue a lot; the tradition and order feel like home to him. this also fits lore because there’s more fatui appearances in liyue compared to mondstadt
also seems like the kind to wander around the city when things start to calm down for the day; if he’s not being tasked on a mission, he sometimes likes to head out to huaguang stone forest
Tumblr media
sunoo
sunshine baby
okay i think he’d have an anemo vision (and this is not because he reminds me of venti). there was another theory that said that anemo vision-holders are hard workers who sometimes don’t give themselves enough rest, and sunoo seems to make the cut. he’s crazy hardworking at things he know he’s lacking at and strives to improve
i think he’d have a catalyst (yes!! we need male catalyst characters!!); i can see him absolutely fascinated by the way catalysts work like... “there’s no solid object engineering the attacks so... what is that? it seems so cool!”
so yeah he’d be sucrose, hello
i also think he’d want to be a part of the adventurer’s guild! it keeps him busy plus he likes helping people :D
would then be introduced to jay (and possibly jake) when he’s assigned to do a commission with him. honestly he’d prefer doing commissions with others rather than doing them alone
has a hard time killing monsters because he finds them cute (especially slimes). i think he’d also empathize with hilichurls to a degree
i see him residing in mondstadt most of the time; he’d also like talking to the locals a lot (has a high rep because of this)
loves trying out local cuisine, some of his favorite dishes include sweet madame and zhongyuan chop suey!
Tumblr media
ni-ki
oh i’m also kinda excited for his too
so i initially thought he’d have a pyro vision, but after some time i figured he’d have an electro vision instead. i think it’s this weird sentiment i feel that he’d protect his passions with his life (in this case, dancing; he’s literally inseparable from it), so there’s that
totally looks like the kind to have a polearm. he definitely would want something lightweight that he could lowkey flex with
sadly he doesn’t have a genshin character twin yet :(
would also not have any affiliation whatsoever; he just traverses the land like the free spirit he is
occasionally would tag along with some adventurer’s guild members, but doesn’t like the idea of people telling him what to do; he creates his own adventures instead
am i the only one here who thinks that he’d honestly run really fast here (hehe speedy boi)
he’d love dashing through mondstadt’s plains (particularly springvale), sometimes slashing monsters left and right (he likes liyue’s scenery but the terrain is way too mountainous for him)
one thing he does like about liyue though is playing with the kids in the harbor. he’d get them toys with the extra mora he receives when helping people (big brother ni-ki agenda hmm)

Fighting for Justice
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Justice will be given
Pairing: Wonwoo x fem!reader
Genre: angst :)
Warnings: school violence and violence in general
Word Count: 3K words
Getting to school early was only one of the things that made students on campus call Wonwoo a "teacher's pet". That was in addition to his perfect grades, perfect attendance, and perfect school record. He was the top scorer in all exams and never had a graduation ceremony where he didn't walk up the stage with some kind of medal or award. Not to mention the fact that his family sponsored most of the university's endeavors and projects. In the eyes of a teacher, he really was perfect.
If he wasn't in class, people would often find him sitting in the library, quietly studying, or typing away on his laptop. They speculated that it was the side effect of being a teacher's pet. Some pitied him for not being able to have any fun but most people just found his presence annoying. There was no point in studying and it looked like he was just doing it for show. His parents were already paying the professors to give him a high grade. Or so they believed.
Wonwoo could hear their whispers but choose to ignore them. After all, he understood where they were coming from. He felt his phone buzz and started packing his things after reading the message.
As he moved away from the table he was sitting at, Wonwoo's eyes fell on a bunch of "elite students", the ones who paid to stay on top. He knew that bribing people with money was one of the easiest things in the world for those who had an abundance of cash. The names that were at the top with his on the score sheets were printed on there with cash. Children from well-off families didn't need to study for their names to be on top of the list, money got it there for them so there was no need to even lift a finger.
That system of "bribery education" lead to the formation of a secret organization, a rebellion, Laqueus. According to them, their main goal was to expose under the table dealings that robbed hardworking students of their rightful place at the top. They were after justice and a fair opportunity for all students. Your place should be determined by your hard work, not your status in society or the amount of money you had in your bank account. All the students— aside from the ones who bribed their way to the top— silently adored and supported them, though nobody knew who was actually affiliated with the group. In one way or another, having such an organization gave them hope that this injustice would end. They endured, believing that the leader of the resistance was sure to come to save them from their misery.
On the other side of the library, _____ pocketed her phone and sat back in her chair as the members of Laqueus entered their hideout. A file was opened on her laptop, emailed from their leader which contained the meeting agenda he had set for the day. Packaged books were stacked on the shelves surrounding a large metal table where various floor plans for the entire school were laid out. The book storage room at the back of the library wasn't the ideal place to hold secret meetings but it was all they had.
A knock came from the door, making all the members perk up. _____ quietly stood up and motioned for the others to hide. If the faculty found out that they had their secret meetings in the book storage room, their plan of achieving justice would fail and all their hard work would come to nothing.
_____ knocked once on the door. "Fiat Justitia." a boy's voice came from behind the door. Breathing a sigh of relief, she opened the door and came face to face with their youngest recruit.
"Hey, leader!" Chan chirped, beaming at her. _____ sighed. "For the last time, I'm not the leader, Chan. I just receive his messages and deliver them to the team."
She ushered him inside. The boy gave her a smile and limped into the storage room. _____ looked down at his feet and noticed that Chan's right foot was bandaged. She frowned. "You were injured from yesterday?"
"Yeah," he answered sheepishly as one of the other members helped him onto a chair. "I was trying to get away as fast as possible."
_____ could only shake her head. It was normal for at least one of them to get injured from a strike. Preparing the materials, executing the plan, and getting away without being caught was very dangerous work. If any of them had been seen it would mean the end of their school life. Expulsion was the punishment for such an offense against the school and being expelled meant that you couldn't fight anymore.
Checking her phone again, _____ told the members that they would start the meeting once the new recruit showed up. They shifted nervously at the news. Getting new members was risky business. You could never tell who would betray you.
"Don't worry," she assured them. "The leader says that he's a good one."
Another knock came at the door. After making sure that everyone was hidden, the vice-leader approached the door. _____ knocked once. She counted, one, two, three seconds before receiving an answer.
"Fiat Justitia."
A smile formed on her mouth as she opened the door to welcome their newest member, an asset that would be a great addition to their cause. The other members of the resistance gaped at who was standing at the door.
Jeon Wonwoo.
__________
_____ figured that it would take a lot of convincing to get the other rebellion members to stop harassing the poor boy with questions. But she couldn’t blame them, who wouldn't be suspicious? If there was one person who would most likely betray them, it would be the infamous teacher’s pet. She had already brought up this concern to their leader but the head of the resistance seemed to have great trust in Wonwoo.
"And why exactly should we trust you?" Seungcheol demanded, banging his hands on the metal table and leaning close to the new recruit's face. _____ could only smile and stay quiet. After the few conversations she already had with their secret leader, the girl was already convinced that the quiet student would never betray them. From what she heard, his hatred for the unfair system probably amounted to more than hers. Plus, with a mind and bank account like his, their plans and attacks were bound to be more successful. To her, Wonwoo was a force to be reckoned with even if he didn't know it yet.
"First of all," he said in a surprisingly steady voice for someone who was being interrogated, "I already know where your hideout is." Seungcheol's open mouth closed itself. With just one sentence he managed to silence one of the fiercest members of the resistance. "Second, I don't need to be on the receiving end of the injustice to know that what those people are doing is wrong."
"Everyone deserves a fair chance to place on top. The only thing that should get a student's name on the list is the grades that they've cried and bled for. A fair chance for everyone is all anyone is asking for. I know how hard it is to stay on top and the fact that there are people who don't have to do anything to be able to surpass what I've achieved on my own angers me."
Wonwoo eyes looked around at the other members as he spoke. _____ saw a light burning in them and spread like a wildfire to the other members in the room. It looked like she didn't need to step in and convince them to accept him as a member, the new recruit was doing that quite well all on his own.
"We have the same goal."
Seungcheol walked up to him and held out his hand for Wonwoo to shake, his mouth breaking into a proud smile. "Welcome to the resistance."
__________
_____ thought that accepting Wonwoo was proving to be one of the best decisions their secret leader had made. She even considered making him a vice-leader along with her. It was like he was born to be a member of Laqueus.
When there was a hole in their plan, he would always be the first to point it out. Funding for their strikes wasn't a problem anymore with his expendable bank account. It seemed that the thought of him betraying them had already been forgotten. Wonwoo was such a big help to their organization that upon hearing of his acceptance ceremony, the entire rebellion wanted to come.
"It would be too much of a risk." _____ reasoned out with them. "Having a lot of people in one place, especially in a place where they aren't supposed to be, will just put us all in danger of being found out."
In all honesty, the acceptance ceremony wasn't much. It was just called that way to make it seem more dignified.
"You're just here to receive this." _____ said as she handed him a small box. Wonwoo opened it and found a thin red ring inside. "Are you proposing?" he joked.
_____ smacked him lightly in the arm. She raised her own hand and showed him the red bracelet clasped around her wrist. "That's just a way for us to see who's on which side."
"That red band is a simplified version of the blindfold that the greek goddess Nike wears." Jeonghan, the team's Intel, said as he strode leisurely into the storage room with Jihoon and Seungkwan following behind him. "The blindfold means that justice is given regardless of who the person is."
"And why is it red?"
"We're at war, idiot." The girl's voice came from behind him. Wonwoo looked at _____ and smiled when she put her hand on his shoulder. "Red is the color of war."
The sound of a pen tapping on the table made him turn towards his other friends. The core of the resistance looked back at him.
"What's your decision Wonwoo?"
He looked towards Jeonghan and Jihoon who were seated around the table. "Well, we don't have all day."
Seungkwan placed a paper on the desk and tapped it with his finger. Wonwoo leaned over the desk and read the words printed onto it.
Laqueus
Member: Jeon Wonwoo
Position: Vice-leader.
The newest member of the organization picked up the pen and signed his name, the red ink stark against the white parchment. The other members smiled and stood to shake his hand.
"Welcome to the core team, vice-leader."
One by one, each core member came to him and shook his hand. “I hope you answer correctly,” Seungcheol whispered into his ear, patting the boy’s back before exiting the room with everyone else.
_____ was the last to stand in front of him and shake his hand. Wonwoo raised his eyebrows at her, their hands still clasped around each other's. He knew from her expression that she was about to ask him something. She had the exact same expression his professors had before they announced a pop quiz or surprise recitation.
“What is the meaning of our secret code?” _____ challenged him, though she already had a feeling that he knew. Wonwoo was one of the smartest kids after all. It wouldn't be a surprise that the meaning of Latin words was just general knowledge to him.
“Fiat Justitia,” he smiled, shaking her hand one more time. “Let justice be done.”
__________
Wonwoo could only keep silent as he watched the members of the core team pace around at the sudden news. He internally face-palmed himself over and over again for not checking which email he had been using before he sent the plan for their strike at the nearing media conference. He was too coffee deprived last night to even register that he was using his personal email rather than the one he had created specifically to use for things that involved Laqueus. Lying to them about his real identity was useless. They would see right through him. All he could do know was tell them the truth.
"So," Jihoon said shakily, his hands gripping the headrest of the nearest chair. "You mean to tell me that you're our leader? All this time?"
He looked towards _____ who was still staring at the computer screen where Wonwoo's email address was written as the sender of their top-secret plan. Wonwoo didn't answer. Honestly, he wasn't sure if they were happy that he was their leader or not. From the blank expressions on their face, it was hard to decipher what thoughts were running through their heads. He was especially aware of _____, sitting a little to his left with her lips pressed into a thin line. She ran a hand through her hair. "Everybody out."
From the look on her face, anyone could tell that disobeying was not an option. As soon as they were alone, she sat in front of him. After confirming three times that he really was their leader she laid her head on the table.
"Are you mad?" Wonwoo carefully asked, afraid that his mistake would ruin the organization. _____ laughed weakly. "Mad? I'm relieved."
She lifted her head and stared at him as if she couldn't believe he was real. "I'm just so happy that you of all people turned out to be our leader. Man, I can’t wait until the others find out—”
“You can’t tell them,” Wonwoo said sharply, cutting her off. Her big surprised eyes met his own, in disbelief that he didn’t want to share this with the rest of the team. “But they’d be so happy to know—”
“_____,” Wonwoo’s voice was low and quiet. _____ froze under his piercing glare. Never had she seen him this serious, not even during important meetings. “If we ever get caught, it's easier to say that you don't know when you really don't than to lie because you know.”
He bent down to look her right in the eye. “This is my way of protecting them.”
The leader of the resistance walked towards the door and threw it open, revealing the embarrassed faces of the other core members who were caught eavesdropping. He looked back and forth between them and _____. “You will tell no one. That’s an order.”
__________
Sabotaging the media conference was the hardest strike they had ever executed. It was also the plan that got their organization caught. None of them, not even Wonwoo, had presumed that the police would be involved.
As the last of the members were pushed to their knees at the foot of the stage, Wonwoo could do nothing but blame himself. He was ready to face punishment on behalf of the organization. That much he could do as their leader. From his place on the stage, his eyes flickered around, looking at the beaten, bloody faces of his comrades. It hurt to see them look so defeated.
"Who is your leader?" the principal's low voice pierced through the silence. With the media gone, he was free to do with them as he pleased. The blank faces of most students made it clear that they didn't know. The principal took a breath to ask again but he was cut off by a low voice from behind him, from someone on the stage.
"I'm the leader."
Wide-eyed students turned in his direction. The fact that the top student in the school had just claimed that he was the leader of the very rebel group that was going against the system was a big shock to the student body and faculty. Wonwoo held his head up high as the principal stormed towards him. The school head grabbed him by the hair, making the boy look him in the eyes. Despite the fear growing in his heart, Wonwoo glared back at the principal, undaunted.
"You had so much potential. Why did you have to throw it all away for poor stupid brats like them?" the principal exasperatedly hissed into his ear as if he were begging Wonwoo to deny his leadership in the alliance. But Wonwoo was anything but unloyal. Even as he was beaten and dragged off to be imprisoned, Wonwoo didn't deny his identity. He was proud to have led such a noble cause and be followed by such honorable people.
The cries of his comrades when the guards were called to take him away echoed in his ears. They watched as his hands were bound by handcuffs, screaming for the police to take them instead. Without a leader, the members of Laqueus felt like their chance of gaining justice was gone.
"Fight," Wonwoo told them as he passed by. He caught sight of _____'s tear-streaked face, almost making him regret exposing himself and leaving her. But as the leader, sacrifices had to be made.
"Fight," he repeated louder. The spark that had been put out lit up again. A solemn atmosphere spread throughout the room like a fog, blocking the sight of those who didn't have a fire burning in their eyes. His comrades knew what he meant and that's all he needed.
And as the police car that he sat in pulled out of the area, Wonwoo saw the same defiant faces that looked at him when he posed as a new recruit, the ones who were tired of having to be a slave to the unjust system and ready to fight for what was right. He knew then that this fight was far from over.
Even if Wonwoo was gone, the resistance was still at war. His last words echoed in their ears, filling them with determination. Especially _____, who Wonwoo had clearly looked at in the eye as he delivered his ultimatum. She nodded at him, promising to finish what he had started. Their leader had given an order and they would follow through.
"Fiat Justitia. That's an order."

ok these are a little older, from before I’d finalized the armor design and some of her weaponry, but I still like ’em, so here’s a handful of Gill doodles I slapped some color on—my default Gill expressions are knifecat and smug so these were meant to be a bit of a branching out. moody Gills!
character stuff below the cut:
- reiterating that she got the circle scars  (and the byname) from a kraken! real-life deep-sea squid and the teeth in their suction cups, man, i love them.
- i drew a silver sword bc it’s more iconic. i should have done steel. Gill keeps her steel on her for humans, of which there are plenty who are assholes, but she almost never actually carries a silver sword, as most of her quarries are things it would be extremely inadvisable to go after with a sword. Gill’s silver is usually in the form of a harpoon or a whaling knife. which is a bit of a bitch sometimes, because silvered harpoons are expensive and you go through ’em faster than swords.
- speaking of harpoons, explosive harpoons are quite recent in the history of whaling (invented mid-19th century), but witchers have a lot of experience with alchemy and incendiary devices (& potentially access to magic) so I think this is not an unreasonable anachronism. dimeritium/silver-laced bombs, light flashing, shrapnel, & freezing effects should be effective against aquatic monsters, and while Dragon’s Dream is really no good, if Devil’s Puffball could be altered to release non-gaseous toxins that would also work.
- and speaking of whaling techniques, the more i read about pre-industrial and even industrial whaling, the less sympathetic i am towards Geralt’s “our witcher abilities are insufficient against sea monsters” speech from A Little Sacrifice. if six ordinary men in a rowboat and a pointy stick can kill a 60ft cachalot—an animal which regularly dives to two thousand feet, has teeth bigger than a human hand, weighs about 40 tons, & is capable of absolutely pulverizing ships—a witcher with a boat & some backup could absolutely kill sea monsters. and people have been using nothing but rowboats and pointy sticks to kill whales as far back as the 9th century! “our witcher abilities are insufficient against sea monsters.” speak for your gotdamn self, mr. “I Know Very Little About Sea Monsters”
- (i don’t believe Gill and Geralt ever encounter each other, tho given the amount of time he spends on Skellige it’s not impossible. they probably wouldn’t get on, as Gill is an asshole with a superiority complex who would alienate Geralt like...immediately. RIP.)
- this is Clan Drummond purple, yeah. don’t read a ton into this bc i’m still futzing with Gill’s color palette, also I just like purple. however, though witchers obviously claim no clan affiliations, given the Lugos family’s reputation for being incredibly reckless, i’m thinking Gill might’ve saved one of the line from an untimely death by illhveli (a whole group of evil whale monsters in Icelandic folklore) after a poorly-thought-out attempt to gain glory when he was young, and is on decent terms with the clan. she buys what fabrics are available, but wearing clan colors sometimes makes negotiations easier. sometimes it makes them worse. sometimes rival clan members misread her; sometimes people become angry at the idea of a witcher claiming clan colors at all. always a bit hard to predict what reception she’ll receive!
- like most who make their living on the Continent’s waters, Gill is a devotee of Sedna, the volatile goddess of the sea and commander of monsters and demons of the deep. it might seem counterintuitive for a witcher to worship a mother of monsters, whose children Gill is paid to destroy, but Gill finds it makes perfect sense. she’s as much a monster as anything else on or under the water—fuck knows she’s had demon spat in her face enough times by people—so why should she not also seek the favor of the abyss?
- (i have words to say abt medieval whalers and the folkloric/theologic connections between whales, demons, the ocean, and absolution in the Middle Ages, but i’m going to hold off bc i’m still going through the research texts i’ve been collecting for Gill. it’s a thing though!!!!)
- I don’t think I’ve ever said but she does actually shave her head specifically to show off the kraken scars. Gill got grabbed across the face by something utterly inhuman and lived, and she wants everyone to know it (and pay her to do it again)
