1. Between 7 and 5, who did you bias first?

Jungkook was the one I biased first! I always loved his voice and personality but something shifted for me last year that made me finally add him to my bias list <33 Chungha is a recent bias of mine, I just started to get more into her music but she's becoming one of my ults

2. Between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to?

NOO THIS IS HARD 😭😭 Yeonjun has been one my of biases since 2019 and I've literally seen him grow up and become ever more talented through every era. I'm always so proud of him :') As for Wonwoo, he became my bias bc I saw myself in him and it felt nice to have an idol who has similar characteristics as me. When he spoke about his feelings during hit the road, i understood those same feelings. In summary, I can't choose between them 😔

3.If you were to spend a day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do?

Why must you do this to me 😭😭 I will say shua since he's like my #1 ult and honestly idk 🧍🏼‍♀️ i think it would be nice to go to a coffee shop and then just walk around an unfamiliar city or!! go to an arcade or amusement park during the evening and just goof off. if i had money then we definitely could just randomly fly to another country like he did with mingyu.

4. What is your favorite physical feature about 9?

her smile 🥺🥺 she's one of those people where i think she could brighten everyone's day just by smiling. I also love how she smiles when she performs, you can just tell she enjoys it

5. What is your favorite part of 6's personality?

I love how reserved he is, yet he gets all cheery with the boys sometimes. There's some moments where you just see him keep to himself and will add a comment or two but 5 minutes later, he'll joke around with the guys and be chaotic with them.

6. If you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you tell them?

that he has one of my favorite voices!! absolutely love it when he sings, and that I hope gets more opportunities to do solo songs or another djj project

7. Between 1 and 2, whose closest would you raid?

A little hard 😭 I'm going to say Yeonjun bc of how stylish he is, but I feel like Joshua would have comfy clothes which i also love.

8. What is a style that you want to see 3 try?

He has done it so many time but I love!! when he tries a style that is not only fashionable but that looks cool when he dances (if that makes sense?). I would love to see him do camp, I know he would pull it off so well

BOTH LMAO but if not wrong, jiwon is either the same height as me or an inch taller and chungha would be either an inch or two taller 😭😭 my shorties, no wonder they're my biases

...sigh 😭😭. I both love loona and svt a lot, idk if there's one I can really choose 😭😭 but I'll go with seungkwan bc he hasn't been talked about here and i'm DYING to talk about him. I ADORE his verses in svt songs and all of the covers he does. He is a genius when it comes to adding emotions to his singing, just listen to his verse of samex3 or his cover of forsake. he has such an incredible voice, i live for his adlibs. he has so much singing talent and I always smile hearing him high notes. truly one of my favorite singers of all time 💖💖

Because of my childish love...

I smile at my phone screen as I watch some BTS concert clips. They never stop to amaze me. Everyday, they achieve more and more than they already have. They inspire me.

But more than anyone else, there is one certain member that keeps me dreaming.

I remember how I used to watch his underground dance group busker on the streets of Gwangju. Back then, the number of people watching was nothing compared to the number of people that flocked their tours today.

I wanted that too. I wanted what he has accomplished. It might not be the same stage, but it is the same ambition. An ambition I kept holding on to because I want to be noticed, appreciated. I wanted him to know how his mere existence pushed a simple country girl into becoming a star as bright as he has become.

I haven’t disappointed him. I’ve gotten offers from international dance schools as the local ballet studio found it a waste for me to rot in the local scene. They thought it an honor for the crumbling ballet school to have one of their best students attend a prestigious school. 

I lost my way on a path of dream…

It’s been 4 years, and now I’m back in Seoul.

4 years and I’ve somehow fulfilled my promise. 

I am now a flower on stage. People clamber at my feet just to get a whiff of my performance. But of course, I turn everyone down. I don’t want bees flying around me after all. I don’t want them sucking on my sweet passion and just leave. I want a butterfly instead. No buzzing, just silence. And its wings are so majestic, unlike any other. 

“Miss Laelynn, I believe?” A breathless man ran up and bowed to me.

“Yes, I am she. Ryu Sejin-ssi?” 

He nods with a smile as he offers to get my luggage for me. I followed him out of the airport as I was led.

“My apologies but the car is a little bit messy. The boys just came from a schedule and I had no time to change cars.” 

Sejin opened the door as he scratched his head in shame. I told him it was no problem and I understood how crazy the schedule of the group was. They have been getting more and more popular recently. So of course, it was a given that time was limited for those people working with and for them.

“So, Sejin-ssi. When would I have the honor to meet BTS?”

From the rear view mirror, Sejin looked at me excitedly.

“Oh you’ll meet them tomorrow at lunch, miss Laelynn. Everyone is excited. It’s a first for him to work with a dancer of a different genre than theirs.”

“Likewise.” I smiled, meeting his gaze.

The venom of my ambition... 

“It’s nice to finally meet you.” I offered my hand for a shake to each of the boys. Their smiles were indeed dazzling. I understand now why girls are getting greedy over them. 

“I believe I’ll be working with-?” I asked them in general.

“With me, Laelynn-ssi.” He raised his hand shyly and giggled behind one of the other boys. 

“Ah of course. I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you.”

“Recognize me? Have we met before?” He asked in wonder, his eyes searching mine for any memory.

“Oh no. But I have seen you dance since you were young. I’m also from Gwangju, you see.” 

“Ah. Well, that’s embarrassing.” He rubbed his palms together as he laughed awkwardly.

“There’s nothing to be ashamed of. You were the best dancer out of your group. If I remember correctly, I saw you get scouted many times by agencies after every performance.” 

He keeps getting redder by the moment. Every little memory I say make him stutter on the spot. The other boys all laughed and patted his back as they all laughed and agreed how good of a dancer he is. 

“I’ll finally be able to see that greatness I’ve admired from afar.” I smiled sweetly at him and his stuttering came to an abrupt stop, but the teasing of the other boys only made him go redder than he already was.

I can’t wait to play with my little butterfly even more.

I sharpened my knife every day…

Because practice was not the only schedule keeping the group busy, my game with my butterfly had to wait a little more. But I’m patient enough. I’ve worked hard for four years honing my dancing skill just to reach the top. What’s a few more days, or even weeks, of waiting if I’ll be rewarded grandly.

“Sorry I kept you waiting, Laelynn-ssi.” 

“No worries, oppa. And please, call me Lynn. No need for formalities, remember? Do you want me to feel awkward just by calling you ‘oppa’?”

“Of course not. Lynn-ah, then. I’m sorry I’ve kept you waiting. But I really appreciate this. I know there are better opportunities out there but you took this one instead.”

“Hey. It’s actually an honor working with you. BTS? Who would’ve thought I’d get contacted by them for a special project?”

Perfect pace. No need to hurry. There’s nothing in the way after all. Again, I just got to be patient. I’ll be able to make my move once my butterfly takes the bait and stay. 

This love is another name for the devil.

We were both breathless. Our bodies are hot from all the exertion. 

“Man, that was intense.” He chuckles as he looks at me.

“I missed that. I thought you softened up what with all this idol life going on. Who knew you could still go hard. I surely didn’t. You drained me out enough, I can’t even feel my thighs anymore. I’m gonna have to be wheeled out of here.”

“I didn’t go that hard. What are you talking about?” He laughs at my whining and we both stared at the ceiling, finally able to catch our breaths. 

“Yeah, you didn’t. This is nothing compared to my mentor in Paris. We’d start at the crack of dawn and end when the owls start hooting for the night.”

“You must have been really tired then. No wonder you’re one of the best ballerinas of this country.”

“Thanks. I’ve done my best for someone. Now I’m happy. I feel like I can finally rest now that I’m finally noticed.” 

“He must be one lucky guy then.”

“You are lucky, indeed.” I whispered. I lifted myself up from the floor and crawled the distance between us. My knees on each side of his waist and my hands on his chest.

Slowly, I leaned down until our lips softly met. I felt he gasp in surprise, his lips parting unexpectedly at what I did. Grabbing his face in my hands, I deepened our kiss.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, oppa.” I pecked his lips one last time before getting up and out of the studio. 

The last thing I see is him still lying on the floor as he touched his lips with his fingers.

The last time you washed your hair, did you use conditioner? Yeah, I’m pretty paranoid and always feel the need to use conditioner because of a bad rebonding job from like a decade ago that stiffened up my hair as soon as it would get wet. It lasted for around a year, so I formed the habit of always using conditioner every time I shower. I don’t think I’ve ever used just shampoo since then.

Do you prefer light or dark jeans?  Dark, but I suppose it would be nice to start experimenting with lighter shades as well.

When you listen to music, do you generally sing along, or just listen?  It depends if I know the lyrics or I’m feeling the song at the moment. Obviously with my new obsession with BTS I can’t really sing along to entire songs, but I do sing the few English lyrics they have per song, hahaha.

Do you have any of your exes as friends on Facebook?  Yeah but she’s been muted for like half a year already, as is the rest of her family. I do have plans to unfriend her entirely; I’m just not sure when I would push through with it, and I already gave Angela permission to log onto my account one of these days to be the one to do the unfriending.

Who was your first love? Do you ever miss that person?  Gabie. I miss the friendship sometimes; I don’t think I’ll have a friendship as deep and connected as the one we had, so I will always feel sorry about how that went to waste. But I don’t really think about our relationship anymore as I’m pretty good at blocking off certain memories, so I don’t miss her in that sense.

How many cars are parked at your house right now?  Two.

Do you have any Italian ancestry?  I highly doubt so. If anything there’s probably a tiny drop Spanish blood in there but that’s the most European I’ll ever get.

Do you prefer water to be ice cold or at room temperature?  Like, drinking water? Ice cold, always. I hate warm water.

Has anyone ever told you you’re a control freak?  Not to my face, but I know I’m one so I’m sure other people have said that about me at least behind my back.

Do you know anyone who has gone missing? If so, were they ever found?  Yes, my friend Mik and one of my aunts. They were both found eventually.

What was the spiciest thing you’ve ever eaten?  Eating ghost pepper instant noodles was a pain I would never want to go through again...I threw that shit out after my first forkful, lmao.

Do you need to talk to someone?  No, not in particular. In a more general sense I do wanna start gaining more friends though, so I’ve been meaning to expand my circle by creating a new Twitter account just for my BTS dump. In other words, I am a 23 year old with a stan Twitter HAHAHAHA

Is something confusing you at the moment?  No, I’m good.

When was the last time you had a real deep chat?  Maybe my conversation with Andi a couple of nights back. We were talking about a tricky situation with their ex-friend who turned out to be a real dick when they came out to him a year ago, and they just wanted to get my perspective on how I would handle it.

Who did you last see on webcam?  The PR manager for one of our clients, who we all despise because he doesn’t know how to do his job. Thankfully he’s resigning soon so we’re all just waiting for him to leave and finally meet a much more competent replacement.

What’s your best friend’s pet’s name(s)?  Angela has two dogs, Hailey and Kennedy. Andi had Apollo, who I wanted to meet so badly but sadly he passed away a week ago at 15.

Have you ever taken a picture while laying in the grass?  There are photos of me sitting on grass, but not lying in it. I would imagine that would feel very prickly and uncomfortable.

Who’s your favorite Disney character? Baymax or Flynn Rider.

Have you ever deliberately tried to get someone drunk?  I’ve made my friends chug drinks or down shots and it’s happened vice versa, but it was always in good fun and we never made each other harassed from it. It’s just your typical college rambunctiousness, and if anyone felt uncomfortable or iffy then we didn’t hesitate to move on.

When was the last time you used a pay phone and who were you calling?  I’ve only ever seen those in my first school, when I was in kindergarten. I never got to use it and they also took them out not long after.

Do you like being kissed on the neck?  Yessssssssss

Have you ever had sex with someone you weren’t dating (but had feelings for) in the hopes that they would ask you out later?  Nope. I don’t think I would have sex with anyone I wasn’t dating.

What’s the most you would be willing to spend on a good bra?  Probably a couple thousand bucks if I thought I looked good in it.

Do you have any of your teachers’ personal cell phone numbers saved in your contacts list?  I don’t think so. I never tried getting close with any of them, and I always tried to stay hidden as much as possible. I was just in class to get good grades and pass.

Do you ever stalk peoples’ personal blogs, even if you don’t know them very well?  I never really scroll through people’s Tumblrs anymore. That was more of a thing I did in like 2013, but these days going through my dashboard is enough.

What’s one thing about today’s generation that you just can’t stand?  Some social media trends done for clout make me revolted, especially when it has anything to do with wasting food. I also hate when they do extreme pranks that I know I wouldn’t find funny if I were ever the victim, like tossing someone’s phone into the ocean.

Be honest: how do you feel about abortion?  Pro-choice. 

Is there anyone you currently want to reach out to?  I would love to catch up with Katreen at some point, but I know we’re at different points in our lives now and it would probably never happen.

What is your favorite piece of art you own?  I commissioned my sister to make an artwork of the 2D1N cast, and she did a great job making it! I haven’t gotten to use it or promote it yet, but I will soon. It’s really well-done.

What did you buy today? Nothing – I’d call that a success lmao, I’ve been spending money as if I had a million fucking bucks over the last week. I did have some packages arrive today though: my own copy of 2 Cool 4 Skool (my first physical BTS album!!!!!!); the official poster from their album BE; the Ivy Park sneakers I ordered earlier this month, and an Ivy Park bucket hat Bea had apparently gotten for me as a birthday present.

What has challenged your morals?  Vices.

What made you pick up the last book you started reading?  I had to read it in preparation for a one-on-one session with my employer’s CEO.

What about your life concerns you the most? Whether a stable future is in the cards for me.

What do you find particularly offensive? Would you say you’re easy or difficult to offend?  Probably Filipino-American comedians or influencers who use stereotyping of Filipino accents and habits as a punchline; they do more harm to the culture than good. I can tell you not one Filipino who lives in the Philippines actually finds those funny, and Bretman Rock is probably the only personality who’s able to flaunt the culture in an entertaining and hilarious yet classy way.

When it comes to being offended, I guess it depends on the context. My humor can get pretty dark and low-blowy, but I would have a problem with someone who I know has genuinely problematic views.

What was the last series you finished watching? Do you have any plans to begin another?  I think it may had still been Start-Up from last December. I’m not too big on Korean dramas since I find one episode waaaaaaayyyyyyy too long. I don’t think I’ll be starting on anything soon, Korean or otherwise.

What is one way in which you are different from a year ago? What is one way in which you are still the same?  I’m single now, for the first time in technically six years. I also think I’m doing better and happier, breakup notwithstanding. OH and I love wasabi now, hahah. As for what’s unchanged, I still like taking surveys and I’m still stuck at home, though the latter’s not really in my control anymore.

If you could learn about anything without the stress of grades or cost, what kind of classes would you take?  I’d just go back to UP for the free tuition. We also have the widest range of programs out of any university in the country, so it’s a damn good deal.

When you were younger, did you have a swing set or a playhouse in your backyard?  We didn’t; but one of our relatives that we’d regularly visit did have a playground that I’d use all the time. It’s still there, just very unmaintained since no one uses it anymore.

Is your mall nice?  Which one? We have five different malls nearby lol. Mall culture here is on another level.

Do you have a Sonic near you? If so, what’s your favorite drink from there?  No. I’m not so sure what they serve there, either. I’m guessing milkshakes?

Will you be voting in the presidential elections next time around?  I’ll always exercise my right to vote.

How do you feel about chocolate-covered strawberries?  I hate strawberries and I hate fruits, so even if you coat that shit in Nutella and cookie butter and chocolate syrup I still wouldn’t touch it.

What’s the largest amount that you can juggle at one time?  I can’t juggle.

What was your favorite thing to go on at the playground as a kid?  Sandboxes, since I liked the texture; the sandboxes in school were also often empty, which worked well for my introvert self. I find that it’s carried over to today, since I still enjoy touching things like slime and kinetic sand.

Do you know how much you weighed at birth? How much?  I think 5 or 6 lbs, I’m not exactly sure but it’s definitely somewhere in that small range.

Which aspect of your daily routine takes the most time? What do you do?  Work, for sure. I work a normal 9–6 so that’s already 8 hours out of my day, but I also OT a lot after hours, and I work throughout my lunch break as well so that technically makes it 9 hours. I also like getting up earlier and starting some work before my shift so that I would have less tasks on my plate for the day.

Do you enjoy buying gifts for others, or could you do without this?  I LOVE getting people gifts. Food is especially my love language, and I always get food delivery for my friends, family, and my team at work.

What is one thing you are expected to do, if anything?  I mean, I have work deadlines tomorrow so there’s that.

How do you tend to view driving? Monotonous or entertaining?  I love driving. I don’t think I ever complained about having to do it. It’s calming and relaxing when I’m doing it alone or with a partner; and it can be entertaining with the right set of people.

Do you enjoy talking about music with others? Not always. If I don’t listen to the artist then I can find the conversation quite boring, like if my friends would get into a full-blown discussion about Taylor Swift.

Is acting something you enjoy?  No. It wouldn’t even be something I’d be interested in doing.

When do you feel most accomplished?  Finishing a work day with no tasks left behind.

I awoke in an uncomfortable pain in my ankles and my wrists, blinking rapidly as my consciousness returned slowly. My neck was sore and it was humid with a faint scent of chloroform. I tried to move around but I was secured to what seemed like a chair in my hazy memory. As I grew more awake, I stared at my surroundings and panic started to creep in as I took in everything. Dark grey walls, black wood panelling, a single mattress behind me and I was restrained to a hard wooden chair. A large oak door was in front of me, no other exits, no windows, nothing. This wasn’t my house. Strangely enough though, I wasn’t gagged or muffled.

I knew my dad was caught up in something bad again. I had my suspicions of him being in the mafia many times but he merely brushed me off. Telltale signs - shady men coming to our house at odd hours, him getting me out of the country abruptly at times and flying me back home only weeks later, and him never letting me know what happened to my mother. Though this time, maybe he didn’t get to fly me out quick enough.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps nearing the door from the outside. I stiffened and looked around frantically to look for a way to get untied. The locks on the other side, multiple I heard, clicked open and I slumped back in an effort to conceal my awoken state.

“She’s still asleep, Boss.” A gruff tone said. I heard a small deep chuckle from behind the gruff-sounding man.

“Really.” The man who chuckled had a voice that could only be said to resemble honey. It wasn’t a low voice, but it dripped with sweetness and a hint of malice. It intrigued me slightly, even in the situation I was in.

“Maybe we gave her too much of the drug.”

“You can leave now, Yoongi.” The man said, and I could tell he was smiling a little. I tried very hard to keep my breathing steady to not cause any suspicion I was actually awake. Maybe he had a knife or something sharp on him so I could cut myself loose once I knocked him out somehow. I needed to escape and find my dad.

“Princess, I know you’re awake.” He said in a lilting tone. “I know my drugs.” I resisted the urge to stiffen at his words.

“We can play like this all day, baby.” He said again with that smiling arrogant tone. “But I’d rather you be awake for when I have my way with you.” I couldn’t resist my body tensing from that, so I looked up at him, glaring, but I was taken aback. He was gorgeous. His jet black hair fell loosely on his smooth skin that was slightly tanned. He had dark eyes that gave away no emotion and plump lips that curved into a smirk. He was lean and tall, wearing an all black suit.

“Ah, there we go.” He chuckled, pushing his hair out of his face. He knelt down extremely close in front of me, so close that my knees were almost touching his chest.

“Who are you?” I hissed. “Whatever you’re thinking of doing, my dad will get here and kill all of you assholes before you even finish your thoughts.” I pulled against my restraints but they were solid.

“So prickly, just like your father.” The man chuckled again. “My name is Jimin, and I’m from the White Mist Clan.” Even though my dad kept me away from the shady business aspect, I knew about the White Mist Clan. Ran by a young, cruel man that cut down anyone and everyone in his path to success. Park Jimin.

“I take your reaction as you’ve heard of me?” He smiled. His face was a far cry from his reputation, but you knew not to be fooled by looks at this point. This man was dangerous and you could possibly die by his gentle-looking hands.

“What do you want?” I spat.

“Oh no, my dear, I don’t necessarily need anything from you. You’re just my bait because everyone knows Daddy dearest loves you the most. I need something your father took from me a few years back, that’s all.” He said, coming closer. “Unless, you make me want something from you. Or your dad doesn’t want to cooperate with me.”

“Don’t. Threaten. Me.” I growled, tugging hard against my restraints, trying to hit him with my knees.

“Doing that will just hurt a whole lot for you, so I suggest you stop trying.” Jimin said, smirking again. I huffed and stopped moving. Jimin inched closer and his fingers ran across my bare thighs. Mind you, I was literally wearing a robe over my nightgown to sleep, and my robe was missing. I really wish I’d worn something less revealing to sleep. Only joggers from now on, I thought, if there was a from-now-on.

“If daddy doesn’t cooperate, then I’ll have to lose my manners.” Jimin said, almost in a snarl. He really was dangerous. “I don’t know which I want more, really.” He looked at me again with dark eyes, and I knew what he was talking about.

“You can’t-“ I said, panicking. Just then, the man called Yoongi came back looking flustered.

“Boss, he refused.” Ah, shit.

“Ok Yoongi, let him know we have his little princess here with us and he’ll be getting her back only when I’m done with her, or not.” Jimin hissed. Fuck.

Jimin now looked back at me with a slight glint in his eyes as he took out a sharp knife from his back pocket. I swore internally a million times, thinking yeah that was the end, I was definitely going to die here. I flinched away from the blade and shut my eyes tightly, trying to brace for any pain but it never came. Then, I felt the restraints on my ankles come loose.

“What-“ I gasped as Jimin shoved my legs apart. He filled the space with his body and his fingers snaked around my neck.

“Daddy didn’t play by my rules, so I’m throwing all rules off the table now.” He said, planting a small kiss on my neck, making me shudder. He removed his jacket quickly with yet another dangerous look in his eyes. “I’m going to completely ruin his little princess.”

“Please, I’ll do anything you want. Please don’t-“ I cried. Jimin ignored me and I felt his hands creep up my legs.

“Your skin is so soft it’s like touching silk.” Jimin murmured as he placed his plump lips on my inner thigh, giving the tender skin a hard bite. I whimpered, trying to move, but Jimin’s arms had my legs pinned apart. He licked the area he bit and sucked it and I shivered, letting out a small whimper again. I’d be lying if I say our fandom is really hardworking when it comes to award season. I’ve seen my friend bullshitting EXO and BTS bcs whenever any of them is nominated in the same award of GOT7, automatically, GOT7 will lose. And no joke, army and exol are really monsters during award season. And I hope us ahgase can be like that too. Family problem. Mom just got heart attack, dad married another woman, brother on crisis with mom, sister just stabbed my back, aunt made everything worse. It’s been three months into 2019, every week, another family problem popped up. But we are trying, I tried to fix everything, another role which the smallest child has to take upon responsibility but I’m fine. Just, tiring.

But again, it is personal choice.

(1/14)I am so sorry for taking so long! (I also had to spend a lot of time studying this week bc I had my first exam for my Anatomy Lab on Wednesday... And then we had our first exam for *Lecture* Thursday (which also was the day I had a bunch of powerpoints due for my very intimidating adviser...) and then I had to substitute teach all day Friday (and then I meant to respond sooner but I got so busy 😭) so yeah I completely understand about school getting in the way no worries abt it!)

And also sleeping in on a day off when you’ve been busy studying lately is completely valid hon 👌 I hope that your midterms go well and that you’re able to stay healthy and take care of yourself in the midst of preparing! (not that you wouldn’t, I just have a bad habit of neglecting things like healthy sleeping and eating habits when I get caught up studying, so hopefully you’re not like me in that way) And yeah me too! I mean on the one hand I understand *why* they have that limit

3)If u could just send as many as u want there would be so much more spam and ppl would definitely abuse that. But also?? Um? I have a chronic condition called ‘Can'tShuttheFuckUp-itis’? 🤷 This policy is so discriminatory towards people like me who suffer from this crippling condition! And 5 copies of the same album? 😲 (Says the girl who’s been a Monbebe for a hot 2 months and has already bought three (3??) Monsta X T-shirts… 😂

6)in my defense tho one of them was only $10 bc it was Black Friday? And u can’t blame me, Hot Topic is my krypotonite lmao) but yeah I already feel guilty about spending 30+ dollars on one copy of an album (thx international shipping) That’s so wild. And yeah I don’t get why ppl feel the need go out of their way just to insult other ppl’s music taste. I’m also pretty self conscious abt sharing my music taste and obviously the way everyone around me talks abt kpop has made me even moreso now 🙃

7) I haven’t gotten into too many groups yet bc I’m trying to go slowly and focus on getting into one group at a time but I do have a long list of groups I plan on getting into eventually! NU'EST is one that I’ve heard some of their songs on my Spotify based on my listening history and they’re on the list haha 😂 And omg I feel really similarly about Got7! I tried to get into them after I got into Monsta X and right before I got into Astro and although I did really like some of their songs

8)I haven’t really been able to get into their music as much as MX and Astro’s yet. I do think they seem like a really fun group in terms of personality though. As for the comeback I know right?? I mean I know a lot of ppl were freaking out abt the comeback being a 'sexy’ and how it wasn’t gonna be the same cute Astro we all love anymore. But they filled the MV with flowers and glitter and still managed to make it sexy as fuck! This album has a very different vibe but it still felt like them

9) They managed to pull off a more mature and sexy concept while still staying true to themselves and I’m so here for it! I don’t know if I could really pick a favorite era because I love them all! I mean Spring Up was an excellent era and every era since then has been great. They really don’t know how to have any bad concepts or make any bad songs huh? Lol. Since I’m still pretty new I really love the title tracks since I’ve heard them the most. (I have listened to their full discography

10)But I haven’t listened to their Bsides enough to pick out my favorites from those) I also really love Again though! The first time I saw the dance practice I was super into it and then I looked up the lyrics and was like 'this is supposed to be sad/regretful song it has no reason to be this much of a BOP?!’ 😂 I have such a hard time picking favorites though. Since All Light is new though I actually have listened to it enough times to pick some 'non-title song favorites’ from there haha

11) Other than All Night (which is great, obvi) I also really like Starry Sky, Moonwalk and Role Play 😂 and Bloom is so pretty oh my god! 😭😭 the album is great and has no bad songs but those are the ones I particularly like. I feel u about the dances honestly. I think that’s actually what drew me to kpop initially. I mean I like listening to the songs ofc but it wasn’t until after I actually watched an MV/saw the choreography that I actually was like… Oh shit I’m gonna have to be a fan now

12) It was the visual aspect that really made me want to be a kpop fan bc I haven’t really seen that level of performance with any western music. Which isn’t to say I think all western music is bad but I think it’s really impressive to watch kpop groups singing and also doing really impressive choreography and performing at the same time. Plus that’s the part I can show my family and say 'even if you don’t like the music because of the language barrier you have to admit they’re talented dancers’

13)And yes! With Astro especially I think the dance practices rlly succinctly capture the reason why I love them so much. They are *super* talented but they also have such great chemistry and u can rlly tell that they just love each other and have so much fun together! I love a family of six hardworking dorks! 🤧💗 lol. And yeah it’s too bad that neither of are able to see them this cb ☹️ (I also did the 'hypothetically…’ research but it wouldn’t have worked out 😒) I hope you’re right though!

14)Hopefully the success of this comeback is the catalyst to Astro getting more of the attention they deserve and there will be many more opportunities to see them in the future! FUCKKK okay so after like a million years of midterms + 2 days straight of sleeping ya girl is BACK to answer these asks after getting through the hurdle of copying and pasting and italicizing 14 asks onto one response on my phone. Did I perhaps fail at least 3 of my midterms? Quite probably. Do I have the energy to care atm? No. Did I need to get away from everything and fly to Boston to visit my friend for reading week? Yes.

How did all your exams go? That sounds crazy though! I hope you got through everything ok!

Tbh I have the same unhealthy habits too, I essentially became nocturnal and lived on like one meal a day + snacks and coffee 😭 fr, I would be writing my midterm from 11:30-1:30, go home to eat, sleep from 4-7pm, then wake up to study all night for the next one, and repeat,,,,, I’m like an actual mess tbh

Honestly as much as I’ve enjoyed the Aroha secret admirer thing (it was sooo nice getting to meet new people) rn I’m just so glad that post-reveal we don’t have to deal with tumblr ask limits and writing entire essay responses all in one go.

Honestly 3 shirts isn’t even THAT bad especially if they weren’t all like ordered from overseas so they wouldn’t have been that expensive. When I went to the Myeongdong underground shopping centre I went craaaazy with Kpop merch despite stanning (at that point, pretty much only) BTS for a whole 3 weeks, so I ended up coming back with 2 albums, a bunch of stickers, a photocard pack (also bonus: got an Astro one too) and like a BUNCH of bt21 stuff. Speaking of, my All Light album finally came in!! I ended up getting a Moonbin, MJ, Jinjin, and Sanha photocard plus the a Rocky lyric booklet and ik I basically got THE best set for someone who loves all of them w my whole heart 😩✊ but I’m still sad I didn’t get any Eunwoo cards since he was my first Astro bias 😭 it’s soooooo pretty I love it sm and like lowkey I’ll probably end up buying more of their albums anyway oopsss

Speaking of Monsta X btw, I heard their new song and I thought it was really good! What did you think of it?

Regarding favourite songs, I swear my moods change so much, so it’s pretty common for me to not love a song at first and sort of rediscover it months later, and tbh that’s kind of what happened with Innocent Love, Baby, and Again. In this album though, I’d say my favourite Bsides are probably be Bloom, 1 in a Million, and Heart Brew Love.

And I toootally agree with the performance aspect of kpop being the thing to attract me it, even before I got really into it I’d sometime like to watch dance practices (and lowkey even learned a bunch of choreos a with my friend last term just bc we had access to a frequently empty dance studio). It’s just super impressive to see people singing and dancing at the same time mostly live, and for the same reasons I’m also super into musicals as well, which isn’t so say I think like lip syncing or just dancing/singing is bad, it’s just refreshing to see it done all at once, you know?

Also side story it turns out that I actually DO know another Astro fan irl!! Her older sister (who I’m closer to bc we’re closer in age) is the one who bought the million got7 albums. Even though she’s been a fan of Astro since before debut, her sister doesn’t even know she listens to kpop since she was afraid of getting roasted at first, but now she’s in too deep to say anything. I’d mentioned liking Astro to her before, but she didn’t say anything bc she didn’t want to expose herself in front of her sister but on Friday I saw her while her sister was out and she was like “oh btw here’s a secret I went to the Toronto fanmeet last year but my sister doesn’t know” I was SHOOK but tbh I’m just super glad now to have someone to talk about it and go to concerts with (I’m banking on the fact that they’re coming back)

I wanted to share my first actual spending for BTS. First of all, I'm a new aRMy about 3 months old but I've always see BTS on my feeds before but I just recently put my effort into liking and actually have fallen in love with them. And I think I cannot turn my back now.

For the reason that adulting hits me so hard, I really can't spend on merchandise and physical albums 'cos Im broke and living to pay bills. So this is my first actual spent for our boys.

Well anyways, this movie actually gave me an opportunity to have a closer look to our lovely boys on stage and off stage. And also this is the closest that I can be with them. I wanted to attend to their concert and I hope I can. Pleaseeeeee! ~

I watched Burn The Stage The Movie on it's first day November 15 2018 together with my friend who is also a fan. We planned to watch it together because she's visiting the Philippines for a short time and we'd watched it together because we love them so much.

So basically, we watched the movie with no subtitles. We asked the staffs if the first screening also didn't have subtitles; they said yes and there was no info that it was released with subs. I was very disappointed. You can imagine how hard it is for non-korean people to watched the movie. I know we can enjoy bangtan bombs with no subs but after they'd post it, our kind-hearted translators translate it for us I-armys out of love. But no, this is not the case for the movie. No one knows if this will be released on dvd or Netflix and if ever yes it will surely take time.

As we watched the movie, I just looked at the screen with my eyes full of love and admiration for them. Everything was raw. I just felt every words of narration. I laughed as I see them laugh, sad when I see them tired and you can say that I really felt every emotions that they've shown through the length of this movie.

As the movie came to an end and how it shows their serious faces and with the tone of their voices I know that if I understand what they are saying I might be sobbing at the theatre.

To my dismay, as we leave the movie house I read some tweets and saw that there was subtitles for every language, most specifically in my country. And there was a released from the distributor that they provided subtitle and no dubbing for this movie. So I immediately talked to one of the staff and raised my concern. And she just said that there was really no subtitle for the said movie.

You can imagine how stressed I am because this is my first spending for bangtan and I will not allow to end it like this. So I talked to my cousin who works for the same company and told her my story.

The head office of the cinema was alarmed with my concern and immediately took action. And yes, I got to watch the movie again. This time for real. It is much sweeter the second time around. The amount of joy and laughter I felt from my first screening was twice when I understood every bit of what they are saying.

BTS are the most pure and genuine celebrity as far as I'm concern. They are the kind of talented artist that are so humble and humane. They are not afraid to show every bit of emotion they have on and off cam/stage. They cry when they are sad, they laugh their asses off when they are feeling euphoric. And lastly, they always say they will work harder and be better, where for us, ARMYs they are already the best.

One of my favorite part was their pool party. It clearly shows that they are still normal people who lives. They are just people who apparently are famous but still are young adults who wanted to enjoy their life at the moment. As narrated and through the screen we saw how they are having the time of their life: "Though we are always together, being together brings us greater joy." From that moment from hearing loud laughters came in silence. I bet my 2 cents everybody inside the theatre watching felt that pinch in their heart.

They can't be separated, not at this time. It was clearly seen at BV3 how they are used to have 7 people around and BV2 when Seokjin said that he feels anxious when they are not around and compared BTS members as cellphone that you always have.

Bangtan Sonyeondan are brothers binded by bond. They are meant to meet one another. I know they have their respective red strings tangled with each other.

Another favorite of mine was when Taehyung dedicates 4'o'clock to Hansung. As he talks and relay his message to Hansung, with him inside the moving van and with 4'o'clock as the bgm it touched my heart. Hansung will forever be special, his first character, someone very close to his heart.

And yes, the song somehow fits them. He also said that Hansung was his inspiration. I personally love that song that it makes me feel at ease. It helps me sleep at night. Tae's voice is my tranquilizer.

And my most favorite part was when they had a talked with Bang PDnim. It was as if they were having a conversation with their father. A father who is scared that his sons might lose their happiness in exchange for their dreams. He wanted them to loosen up, he also wanted them to be happy. I actually cried on that part. 😭

I also saw the screen for Wings Tour Manila. I'm in awe as I saw Fly high Philippine ARMY on the screen. I'm proud and it motivates me to watch their concert in my country. Patiently waiting for LY Tour PH 2019.

Who will not love these boys when they are these grateful to their fans, ARMYs. No one has been these grateful.

I am so scared how they relay their message in this documentary. It's as if they are ready to whatever will happen. They know they are flying high today but they know that eventually they will fall. But what's good about falling is that they know that ARMYs are always there to catch them. They surely know how to treasure every moment because they know that everything is temporary. That's how humble my stan group is. Years may pass as they see this movie my boys will keep ballin' ballin' still bangtan!

I love bangtan so much. I can't explain where this love is coming from but I am always praying for them.

I know that they are already living their dreams. My only wish and blessing for Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jungkook that may they always find happiness in what they are doing. To always seek and look out for each other. To always find the light and not to lose their smile. I love them so much that I always pray that their hearts will feel peace.

I will fight for you, for your music, for your talent, for your passion, and for these 7 young wonderful boys that I still have to meet. I can't wait for that to happen. Wait for me. 알았지?!

10 Several Of The Crew Members Made Super 8 Films

In the featurette “The Dream Behind Super 8” several of the crew members talked about memories of making Super 8 films when they were kids. When J.J. Abrams discovered filmmaking, he was fascinated with making his own films. The director of photography Larry Fong also made Super 8 films and lived across the street for Abrams.

Even composer Michael Giacchino revealed that he made Super 8 and 8mm films when he was young. When J.J. Abrams met Matt Reeves when he was 14, they entered a film festival and got the attention of Steven Spielberg. Spielberg produced Super 8, but when Abrams was 14, he sent him and Reeves a box of his old Super 8 movies for them to restore.

9 They Interviewed 5,000 Kids

When it came time to casting the main group of kids in the movie, J.J. Abrams wanted to cast fresh faces that were relatively unknown actors. Joel Courtney (Joe), Ryan Lee (Cary), Zach Mills (Preston), Riley Griffiths (Charles), Gabriel Basso (Martin), and Elle Fanning (Alice) fill out the core cast, but that was only after they interviewed 5,000 kids.

The casting agents April Webster and Alyssa Weisberg explained in the featurette “The Search for New Faces” that they interviewed thousands of kids for the roles and even watched auditions on YouTube.

8 Joel Courtney Even Had To Audition 14 Times

The casting department had their hands full with Super 8, but they still worked hard to get the right actor for the lead role of Joe Lamb. Joel Courtney was chosen for the role, which was his first-ever acting gig. Courtney didn’t have an easy time getting the role though, as the featurette “The Search for New Faces” revealed he had to audition 14 times before he got the role.

Courtney also mentioned that it was his first audition ever and recalled once when he left school to fly to LA for an interview. Turns out that interview however wasn’t actually an interview, but a surprise from J.J. Abrams to reveal that he got the part.

7 They Got To Keep Their Bikes

Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures did everything they could to capture the essence of the late ‘70s. Everything from the sets to the costumes and props were made to look like the ‘70s. The company also rented bicycles that looked like bikes from 1979, which the cast got to keep at the end of the shoot.

Joel Courtney even mentioned in an on-set video how cool it would be to keep their bikes and Abrams was so impressed with the cast that he ended up buying all of the bikes that they rented for the kids.

6 Citizens Of Weirton Actually Appeared In The Town Meeting Scene

Most movie buffs would love to have a summer blockbuster film in their hometown and that was the case for Super 8. Super 8 was filmed in Weirton, Ohio and it was revealed in the featurette “Rediscovering Steel Town” how thrilled the citizens were to have Abrams and company film in their town.

In the town meeting scene, the citizens of Weirton actually make up most of the extras. After a plan to fly back to LA fell through, Abrams simply decided to stay in Ohio and film the scene with the actual people who lived there. The actor who voices Homer Simpson (Dan Castellaneta) was also in this scene, although he was born in Chicago not Weirton.

5 Neville Page Created The Monster

Besides Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams both being attached to Super 8, the promise of another creature feature is something that attracted people to the film. Famous creature and concept designer Neville Page created the Super 8 monster, which was known as Cooper (motion-captured by Bruce Greenwood) on set. Page is known for creating creatures in films like Cloverfield, Avatar, and Star Trek.

There were several different designs that Page created for Cooper, but he took Abrams and Spielberg’s input for the final design. In the featurette “The Monster Lives” it was also revealed that in order to make the monster emote more emotions, Page designed eye slits that would reveal the monsters true eyes that were similar to Joe’s mother’s.

4 The Filmmakers Paid Tribute To Weirton Ohio’s Legacy

After location scouts went around the country photographing different towns, J.J. Abrams showed interest in Weirton Ohio. Despite the name being changed to Lillian Ohio, Super 8 pays tribute to the steel town’s history. The city of Weirton was actually built up around the giant steel mill, which saw hardships in the ‘70s because of foreign commerce.

The mill had to be shut down soon after, but in 1983, the employees of Weirton Steel bought stock ownership of the plant. 20 years later they had to file bankruptcy and massively downsize their employees. Weirton Steel was at one point one of the biggest steel manufacturers in the world, and Super 8 was able to bring that legacy to life.

3 The Cinematographer Doubled As An On-Set Magician

Larry Fong was the director of photography for Super 8, but he also doubled as an on-set magician. Fong was so impressive with his magic, that he even made it into the special features of the Super 8 Blu-ray in a featurette called “Do You Believe in Magic?”.

The featurette shows several of his magic tricks and even showed him impressing Tom Cruise when he visited the set. Joel Courtney said his favorite trick was a soda can trick where Fong would set two cans at the opposite side of a street. He would shake one up and then open them, only the can he shook up didn’t explode. Somehow, he was able to transfer the fizz to the other soda can.

2 There Was An ARG For The Film

Much like the Cloverfield films, Super 8 had an extensive ARG (alternate reality game). When the trailer for Super 8 was released, the final shot showed a film reel with the phrase “Scariest Thing I Ever Saw”. People then found the website “ScariestThingIEverSaw.com” which introduced a fake company called Rocket Poppeteers and allowed people to print off two pages of a newspaper.

People decoded the paper and it led them to a website that was a chat room between a man named Josh and a mystery man talking about Josh’s father’s work on a secret government project. Clips could be found around the internet which when put together made a three-minute video from Area 51, part of which is seen in the film. In the end, Josh’s father is revealed to be Dr. Woodward in the film and the ARG ends with Josh finding out that his father was buried in Lillian Ohio.

1 There’s A Meaning Behind Operation Walking Distance

Near the middle of the film, the US Air Force creates a project called Operation Walking Distance. The point of this was to set fire to Lillian Ohio so that they could evacuate the city and hunt the monster while keeping the citizens safe. The that being said, the code-name “Walking Distance” is a shout-out to an episode of The Twilight Zone by the same name.

This episode deals with a man time-traveling back to his childhood. J.J. Abrams once said this was one of his favorite episodes of the series and with Super 8 being inspired by his childhood, it’s like Abrams went back in time to create a movie that was meaningful to him.

Bag Fees Were the Most Successful Airline Business Model Change of the Past Decade

Skift Take: In the past decade, airlines have successfully convinced flyers to pay for everything from seat assignments to checking bags. But some of their most loyal customers are fuming.

Cookbook author and television personality Nathalie Dupree longs for the days when she could simply walk to an airport counter, purchase a plane ticket, and get on a jet.

Now, she said, “It might take me half a day to get it booked.”

Dupree, who lives in Charleston, South Carolina, must wade through a list of decisions, including whether to choose one airline for a cheap ticket, but no frequent flyer miles, or another, costlier carrier that gives her points.

She has to pick which credit card to use, whether it’s the one issued by an airline that gives her free checked baggage, or another that means she’ll pay to check luggage.

“It’s quite a come down from my first European trip when I arrived late to the airport and they bumped me up to first class,” Dupree said. “In short, flying is no fun anymore.”

Dupree’s experience is repeated millions of times per year by airline passengers maneuvering through the forest of fees and other features that the carriers want to charge, or sell them.

This year marks a decade since United Airlines, US Airways and American Airlines the latter two (then separate carriers) decided to charge travelers $15 to check their first suitcase. They implemented the fees only months after five carriers began charging for a second or third bag.

Their excuse was the high price of jet fuel, which topped $4 a gallon in summer 2008 before the Great Recession gripped the country that fall.

The major companies were following in the footsteps of low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines, which was already charging for checked baggage.

No one – neither airlines, nor passengers – really knew what kind of change was about to take place. “My sense was the industry’s initial implementations were hurried, without much thought as to how passengers would play the new game,’” said Robert W. Mann, Jr., an airline analyst and consultant.

As it turned out, passengers were willing to pay. In 2007, American collected just $124 million in baggage fees, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. One year later, American collected $277 million in baggage fees.

In the first three quarters of 2017, American’s baggage fees resulted in $827 million in revenue, BTS data shows.

A decade ago, United officials forecast that they could collect $1 billion a year in all passenger fees. Yet in 2016, United collected $6.2 billion in ancillary revenue, according to a report by IdeaWorks, which tracked the income from fees from 138 carriers worldwide.

Passengers Must Be Crafty

The wide variation between fees caused a revolution in how passengers choose which airline to fly, and what features to buy.

Doug Mitchell, a Washington D.C.-based consultant for NPR and the Online News Association, an industry group, decided last year that he would only use Southwest Airlines for his frequent domestic trips.

One reason, he said, was that Southwest does not charge fees for checking up to two suitcases.

As a frequent flyer, Mitchell quickly earned A-list status, allowing him to board early and choose his preferred seat if it’s available. He said he enjoys watching other passengers board after him and try to wedge their carry-on bags into overhead bins.

“I hate flying outside of that,” Mitchell said. “I’m wondering what other U.S.-based corporations hate its customers as much as airlines do.”

No airline would admit to hating customers, but the carriers have been upfront about their shift in attitude toward plane tickets.

“Rather than take Humpty Dumpty and put him back together, they took Humpty Dumpty and pushed him off the wall,” said Henry Harteveldt, a travel industry and consumer analyst who is co-founder of Atmosphere Research.

The past decade has seen an unbundling of the features that went into plane tickets. In 2008, Delta Air Lines then-president, Ed Bastian, said a trip included “a ticket, a bag and a safe and reliable experience.”

But free bags are no longer a guarantee at Delta, where Bastian is now chief executive. Delta’s fee, originally $15, is now $25, unless passengers qualify for a waiver.

To get a free bag, they can use a Delta-branded credit card, for instance. Or they can purchase seats in the Delta Premium Select cabin on international flights. Or, they can be an elite frequent flyer, where free baggage checks starts with the Silver tier.

Once, flyers consolidated their travel on a single airline to earn miles for free tickets. Now, free baggage is a reason that attracts them, among perks that used to be included in the price of a ticket, like the right to choose better seats for free.

“I work hard to stay a frequent flyer elite (on United) so that I don’t have to pay fees,” said Tommy McCall, founder and CEO of Infographics Inc. “It’s great to get everything from lots of free baggage and Economy Plus or first class upgrades, down to a complimentary snack and beverage.”

He tracks his airline spending and miles on a spread sheet to make sure he qualifies for the extras he most wants, and calculates he saves $10,000 to $15,000 a year in additional spending, much of it from free upgrades on international flights.

Harteveldt said passengers now are “able to buy the things they value, that matter for their trip and that they can afford.”

But that sometimes backfires. Deborah Gobble, a New York-based writer who specializes in medical patient education programs, said she’s annoyed when she pays a baggage fee, only to see flight attendants ask for last-minute volunteers to check carry-on bags.

“I wind up feeling like a chump,” Gobble said.

Selling Experiences

Harteveldt said he sees another revolution in the works beyond simply charging for various features. “We’re seeing airlines transform from selling us tickets to selling us products or experiences,” Harteveldt says.

Although airlines traditionally have talked about the value they place on customer loyalty, the reality is that they’re more interested in passenger dollars than repeat business, Harteveldt said.

That’s why some features that used to only be available to elite flyers are now up for grabs by anyone in the cabin.

Passengers, regardless of the price of their fare, can purchase access to airline clubs and speedy security lines. They can pay to board the plane early, giving them access to the best locations for their carry-ons, and they can purchase extra legroom and the seat location they want within their ticket class.

That causes some grumbling among flyers, upset they may not be able to stow their bag above their seats, even if they buy relatively expensive coach tickets.

“I don’t mind the small seats and lack of service, but I do resent the choice between wrestling with a bag and paying money to make the boarding and disembarking process safer and faster,” said C. Claiborne Ray, a retired Brooklyn-based editor.

Harteveldt said airlines have a right to charge what the market will bear, and as the statistics show, the market has been willing to bear a lot during the past decade.

“What I would appreciate, honestly, would be that airlines would be more transparent in their behavior,” he said. “People are saying, ‘Why should I be loyal to an airline for benefits I am not receiving?”’

Toni Simonetti, a Connecticut-based corporate consultant and million-mile flyer on Delta, can check two free bags on each flight, but still feels nickel and dimed by the airline’s fees for changing flights as well as selecting seats. Said Simonetti: “Absurd.”

And if there’s any word to describe what the process has become in a decade of airline fees, that may be it.

PCW SIXTH ANNIVERSARY PART 2

Food done at Yates's it waa time to take in a couple of the usual haunts in Preston, first of all - The Guild Ale House which is a real ale haven for the hardened craft ale drinker, generally every drink is under £3.50 and of the highest quality. I would liken this pub as well to someones fromt living room with the white carpet which i am surprised no one has ruined yet spilling their stout, we decamped to the small yard area to think up of niche songs for one of the night's combatants - Su Yung. A mixture of stuff from The Beatles, Genesis and The Corrs were batted about but as we would find out later would go down as well as a wet fart in Church. The drink i had in here was 2/3rds of a Saison like drink "Never Known Fog Like It" for £3.50 and it was a nice drink that i would try a second helping of if i saw it again. Next stop was Hogarths to see the latter end of our football coupons going down and also a lovely pint of £2.05 Hogarths own ale. This pub looks like it has been a success since it has opened rivalling Wetherspoons on price and it also caters for people who like their sport with Racing UK and Sky Sports being prominent on all screens. Drinks done it was time to get into Evoque for the show, thankfully this time their was a high stool in my usual spot so i took advantage to rest my feet and sit in my perch to watch the graps. A bigger crowd than expected crowd was in attendance and it was nice to see people give PCW another try having probably being put off by the below par shows that were provided in 2016, but in fairness since the change in booker this year to Greg Lambert holding the pencil shows have improved by far so the ball was in PCWs court to make it worth it - lets see if they pulled it off. First off was a 3 way match to be no.1 contender for the Cruiserweight Title with Ricky Knight Jr vs Chris Ridgeway vs Chris Brookes - the latter making his return to PCW after just 1 solitary appearance in one of the Who Dares Wins rumbles a few years ago. Brookes received a great reception once his banger of a tune hit (Human Fly by The Cramps), Brookes has become a darling of the scene in the last year or so and could be on the cusp of joining his Midlands cohorts in the States sometime. This was a great opener to set the tone for the evening with all 3 guys working well together, Ricky Knight Jr impressed and didnt look out of place with his more experienced adversaries. Ridgeway eventually got the win in around 12 minutes catching Knight Jr with a choke in midair causing RKJ to tap immediately. Next up was Sheikh and Shake and Dave Birch vs 3 Mates Pissing About (Kirby/Hope/Joey Hayes). Seymour Gains gave an opening spiel trying to get over his S.H.I.T.S Protein Shake to a chorus of boos with his mate Sheikh El-Sham eyeing me up again - naturally i booed him again. These two have become a good team in their short time together getting the right reaction from the audience - good work lads. This was a really fun match as you can expect with the 3 mates who are fantastic at these comedy matches and are filling the void left by Dave Rayne and Mad Man Manson. The 3 mates got the win with the Shield Powerbomb to Seymour for the 1-2-3 and to rub it in Seymours face even more they poured his S.H.I.T.S Protein Shakes all over him. Soner Durson vs CJ Banks Part 3 was next with it being 1-1 in the series from their 2 good scraps in Tidal and PCW. Even though it took time for the crowd to warm to the match, they eventually got the crowd onside and provided a good match with Soner looking impressive again but sadly coming up short trying to hit the frog splash but CJ caught him with a pair of knees and Cheeky Rolled him up for the win. Good Stuff!! Half Time Main Event was Aussie Open challenging the PCW Tag Champions The UK Hooligans. As expected this was a really good match but it was more suited to The Hooligans style of working fighting around the ringside area smacking especially Fletcher with suicide dives and school chair shots to the head. The Aussies did eventually get some offence in, using their raised cutter for a close 2 count but after 15 minutes they fell to The Hooligans but they shouldnt be too disheartened and i for ine would like to see them in PCW again. But if you do see Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis elsewhere in the country I urge you to see them. After the match the UK Hooligans found out that they would be facing The NAK (Chris Renfrew and BT Gunn) in September, should be a good scrap. My mate Ben made quite the hot take after the match saying even though he likes The Hooligans, he is a bit fed up with their style of match and would like to see something different from them, but did point to the fact only Team Single went toe to toe with them all the way through their matches and wouldnt lie down and take a pasting. 1st half done and a mark photo with British Wrong Style accosting Aussie Open for a picture near the bar, decent enough gentleman to meet. Now the 2nd half and what do we start off with - Lionheart vs Philip Michael. The opening of this contest started off with a 3 minute singing of Philip Michaels name the like we havent seen since the days of Noam Dar, Philip was over like rover. Good action here for around 7 minutes with Phil matching Lionheart hold for hold and looking his equal but a spot where Lionheart pulled Phil off the ropes causing Phil to land awkwardly caused a long stoppage to the match and bringing a number of the roster to ringside to check on Phils wellbeing. Now with what happened to Lionheart previously when he broke his neck at PCW which left the audience in stunned silence and tears that night, visions of seeing a serious injury is still fresh in peoples minds but as ever with wrestling companies nowadays - many a fake injury angle happens and you dont know when to know if its real or not. In this case Lionheart picked up Phil to applause but then proceeded to use a Uranage Slam to drop Phil to a chorus of boos and a 1-2-3. Personal opinion i think Fake Injury Angles are shit and the dog worst thing to get a baddie over in this sense. They could have easily had Philip Michael catch a win from nowhere on Lionheart and then have Lionheart give him a beating after the match - it still has the same effect. This left a bad taste in a few peoples mouths and I for one was one of them. Su Yung vs Lauren (replacement for an injured Saraya) was next in a short match with Su Yung dominating early and looking good in the process. But despite all the songs in the world to rally Su she fell to a roll up from Lauren for the shock victory. I do think Lauren will probably end up winning the PCW Womens title in 2 weeks in the tourney but i cant say i am totally sold on her as a champion but just my opinion. Dean Allmark took on Jody Fleisch next for the Cruiserweight title in a fantastic match as you would expect from these 2 wrestlers. Jody hasnt missed a beat since the early 2000s and looks better bodywise since then, Deano has been a constant highlight in the past year with the rest of the cruisers pulling some of the shows over the line with some top matches. Jody hit the 720 DDT but only got a 2 for a near fall, Deano hit Jody with the Smiles Clash before finishing a valiant Jody off with the top rope Spanish Fly. Great stuff and a great pick me up after what was on previously to it. The Big Grudge Match with Tel Banham vs BIG T was next but sadly after much talking from Banham and tomfoolery from his cronies, it never got started with BIG T booting referee Des and joining up with Banham to be his bodyguard muscle i guess to the Chicken Shit Heel Banham. In one way a poor payoff to an angle that has been going for 3 months but in one sense Banham can use BIG T to fight his battles. Live i think the angle didnt go down well in the end and left a flat feeling due to people wanting Banham to get his comeuppance. Main Event time with the 3 way being turned into a 4 way with Champion Iestyn Rees vs T-Bone vs Bubblegum vs Ashton Smith. This went around 20 minutes with plenty of action and nearfalls happening, Iestyn did a majestic dive over the ropes which for a big fella is impressive. With the clock ticking to me getting the train, i took a position at the back of the room to see just in time Iestyn Rees using the Cheeky Roll Up to beat a defiant Bubblegum and continuing his near year long reign as champion. This made the show finish on a flat note, with the crowd wanting to see Bubblegum pick up the win and finally get a small run with the PCW Title. I found out when i left that Bubblegum is putting his PCW Career on the line at the next show vs T-Bone in a street fight which i guess there is a reason behind but i didnt see much skullduggery costing Bubblegum from a T-Bone prespective but hey ho - Wrestling!! Iestyns next opponent i am not too sure where they are going next, maybe Ashton gets another chance but for me that was 3 contenders finished off in one night. So i guess we get Iestyn being the not so brilliant paper champion again for another 6 months 😕. Overall a great first half followed up by an indifferent second half with as i have explained - the result of the main and the injury angle being topics of complaint from myself. But still this is worth a watch when it comes on demand. Delayed train to Manchester meant getting back at around half midnight into Rochdale, as ever Geoff was doing his best sleeping pose for #grapsandnaps - Standard part of a trip to the wrestling. Evoque beer prices - £4.50 for Tyskie (500ml) they ran out of these bottles halfway through. £7 for 2 bottles of either Samuel Adams, Brewdog Punk IPA or Brooklyn Lager. So in effect it was £7 for a pint and a smidgen if you look at it that way. Next time in #grapsandclaps will be my first trip to Attack Wrestling in Cardiff which by going off what people are going and the general fun of that promotion - could be a fantastic which i am looking forward to.
