people: omg we finally get to see hyper! me: omg we finally get to see more angles of kusuriuri's clothes! observations and (A LOT OF) ranting under the cut:

The inside sleeve design has been revealed! It's pretty similar to the outside design but instead of that four-petal design, it's a gold circle. Also, it looks like the large eye is shared by both sides, but based on how the sleeve looks in other images, it must be really really big..... I guess they can get away with it lol. Like, if you laid out the sleeve fabric, I think it would look like this:

THE BACK OF HIS OBI. What the hell kinda knot is this actually... like, does anyone here know about obimusubi because I'm not very good at knots but if it comes down to it I will learn how this works. I already thought this based on the promo art but it seems like his obi fabric is double-sided, with purple on one side and the check pattern on the other, with a red trim. That lighter salmon color in the knot seems to be a different fabric, maybe an obiage? It's not tucked into the front so I'm not sure if that's the right term, but in any case it's some kind of extra fabric. If the purple and check are really one piece of fabric, then the knot is like... a hitch? It's some kind of one-loop bow, and it's quite bulky so he might have an obimakura in there. Whatever it is, it's considerably more elaborate than OG Kusuriuri's obi, which was that red brocade just tied into a large crooked bow. Who is helping movie Kusuriuri get dressed in the morning? (I'm sure he can do it himself and I commend him for the dedication to the aesthetic lol).

His mirror is now kept looped around this thick cord that kind of comes out of nowhere and disappears into his obi. First of all, how is the mirror staying up like that since the string is only looped once. Second, the thick white cord looks the same as the one that comes out of the left side of his obi and loops around his back, but I'm not sure how they would connect. Logically, they probably are the same cord and it goes through his obimusubi somehow. 4.)

This one was actually noticeable in the very first trailer as you can tell, since the second screenshot is from that trailer, but I somehow never noticed it until now. Kusuriuri has neck markings now! In a different frame I caught a glimpse of the part that goes into his collar, it looks like a circle, though it's not visible in either of these screenshots. But from the first screenshot and some other frames I saw, it looks somewhat off-center. I wasn't sure if it was just a weird frame at first, but it looks consistent the few other times (time?) that part of his neck is visible. It looks like the strip of red that leads down to the circle curves off to the left rather than going straight down the center. I didn't realize this before but his neck is actually concealed in most of the promo images.

A better look at the back of his socks, plus two things that were visible this whole time but I didn't notice: first, his black leggings have this folded layer you can probably see on top. I'm not sure how to describe it and I don't know exactly how it works. It seems weird to me that he would have three sock layers (outer black, inner black, white), so I think the two black layers are probably still part of the same sock. I'm just not sure exactly what's up with it. Secondly, his geta have metal corners on the teeth! I don't think I've seen that on real geta, so maybe it's just a random detail, but if it's a thing on some real geta, I wonder if it's to keep the wood from wearing away there. Also another think I'm just noticing, there's a reinforcing wedge of wood under the front part of his geta that overhand the front tooth. You can see it a little in the second image.

Overall, that's all the new design stuff I noticed. Since I just drew him twice and spent like all day thinking about this, I've realized his design is way more elaborate than the original one. He has a bunch of little doodads, like the ties around his ankle or that decorative tie that comes out of his ohashori:

which still bothers me because I've never seen the back of it. Where are those strings going. And how is it secured in the first place? is it tied or pinned underneath his ohashori, like on the tie under the obi (not sure if there's a name for it)? What is it? Why does he have this here?

These details as well as things like the corners and wedge on his geta, the red trim on the obi and the check pattern, and his elaborate eye make up are all design elements that could never really have worked for a tv show. It's impressive to me even that OG Kusuriuri had that hand drawn brocade texture and the designs on his kimono that he did. It's the type of thing animators usually avoid, lol.

I like the movie design visually, but my god is it a pain in the ass to draw. Due to the aforementioned details of course and the wider variety of colors. Oh yeah, my last (for real) observation is that this Kusuriuri looks a lot less human than our OG friend. His skin is entirely whitish-grey, and he has that white/purple and red hair, and now he has markings on his neck instead of just on his face. (Unrelated but I feel like they made his lip tattoo less prominent and it makes me sad because it's one of my favorite things about Kusuriuri's design). But Hyper, from that very small glimpse we caught of him, looks more mundane than the original. I think it's the combination of his black hair and his markings being red instead of gold. I wonder what the rest of him will look like.... It was interesting to me that his face is drawn differently from Kusuriuri. In the TV anime, they have the same face shape and features, but their hair and coloring is different. And OG Hyper had a slightly different version of Kusuriuri's clothes. We can't see this new Hyper's clothes, but his face is more square looking. He looks like a different person... interesting lore implications.

Chapter 43.9

I arrive at GeekCon both sweaty and with a vague sense of unease. The stifling heatwave has turned the city into a pressure cooker, and it feels foreboding, like something terrible is building and about to break free.

I’m greeted by my own face by the door, advertising the panel that I’m supposed to be on this morning. I never got comfortable seeing myself like this, I prefer it when they just use the logo or my masked promo pictures. At least today is the last time I’ll appear as Llama Man in any official capacity, and then…

Then I don’t know.

But there’ll be time to figure that out later, right now I’m about to see Julia again. I can’t believe it’s only been a year since we met, and I have no idea how she feels about me right now.

I spent most of the night in my hotel room tossing and turning, thinking about what I’ll say to her, but I still don’t have a plan. I just want to apologise for ending things so abruptly.

It really wasn’t my best work.

She said she just wanted to be with you. And then you dumped her.

I groan inwardly as I scan the faces of everyone I see. There’s no sign of her, but the cosplay competition isn’t until later, she may not have arrived yet.

I wonder if she’ll refuse to speak to me at all. I wouldn’t blame her, but she never seemed like the type to carry a grudge. I just want to see her and make sure she’s not too upset about how things ended, something I should have done months ago.

I need to make sure she doesn’t hate me. I can’t handle if she hates me.

I guess I’ll have to play it by ear, although Lee would tell me that’s not my strongest suit.

I leave my jacket in the wardrobe and linger a bit, fiddling with my VIP bracelet. The gallery’s air-conditioning is working overtime, and it helps a little with the heat but I still feel uneasy. My eyes are drawn to the bathroom door.

If this was a movie, Julia would come out of the bathroom right now, exactly like last time. Our eyes would meet. A beat, as the camera cut from her face to mine, both of us too surprised to speak. I would recover first, tell her that we can’t keep meeting like this, and her face would crack into a smile. Then she’d leap into my arms and I would kiss her like there were no tomorrow.

Get it together, Romeo. She’s not kissing you ever again, you’re going to be lucky if she even speaks to you. Focus. You’re at work.

At least I’m not in full costume this year, I would probably have died from heatstroke. And it would have made me feel silly trying to have a serious conversation with Julia.

I decide to take a quick tour of the convention floor before the panel starts.

Even though it’s still early in the day, there’s people everywhere. Some tabletop role-players are recording their podcast on location, kids are running around, and several people are dressed up despite the heat. I wish Julia had shown me pictures of the costume she was planning so I knew what to look for.

A woman with long, red hair makes me do a double take, but I know it isn’t Julia before she even turns around, the way she moves is wrong. I know every inch of Julia’s body and this isn’t it. Everything Julia is, the way she walks and talks and laughs is imprinted on my brain, and it feels like I should be able to locate her by telepathy, by following some sort of invisible string tying me to her.

“Uh, Mr. Romeo! Sorry, hello.”

“Oh, hey. Edmund, right?”

The young man beams, clearly pleased that I remember his name. His booth was next to mine last year, we talked about old movies. I wish I could introduce Julia to him, she would have loved to discuss Cow Plant Love with an expert.

“Wait, you do know him? I thought you were lying!” The teenage girl next to him sounds somewhere between impressed and angry.

“Yeah, why would I lie about that? Sorry, sir, this is my sister Liz, she’s a big fan of Llama Man.”

“Can I have your autograph? I collect them, I already got the Coolala guy and the Freezer Bunny lady this morning. Oh, and can you make it out to ‘Lizette’, with a Z, please?”

“Of course. That’s a very cool costume, Lizette with a Z.”

“I made it myself! It’s Michelle from Doherty’s Revenge, have you seen it? The one with the zombie gym teacher?”

“Oh? Haven’t heard of it, do you think I should watch it?”

“You have to, it’s so good! I used to think it was actually really scary but now I just think it’s funny. Me and Edmund watch a lot of like, retro movies with dad, we even watched the really old Llama Man movies once. I’m gonna tell my dad I met you, he won’t believe it!”

“I’m flattered. Thanks for the movie recommendation, I’ll make sure to check it out.” I hand her the autograph before waving goodbye to Edmund who mouths a silent thank you.

Retro.

I know everything seems ancient to a teenager, but the word tastes like dusty VHS tapes, like lava lamps and shag carpets, like mid-century kitchens. This is my demographic, I suppose, nostalgic dads and their excitable kids.

Julia is not in the panel crowd either, but I guess that would have been too much to hope for. I would probably have found her presence too distracting anyway.

I know one of the other panellists, Mei Zhang, the iconic voice of the Freezer Bunny for over fifteen years. We’ve met briefly at conventions and even on a few gigs, but never really got a chance to speak much.

The third panellist is a young man named Andy Okeke, who seems to be voicing a few Voidcritters as well as a bear-like creature I’ve never heard of. It’s his first time on a panel, but he’s already annoyingly good for his age, and I can imagine him having a pretty impressive career at the speed he’s going.

I answer the same questions I’ve answered a million times before and try to find some sort of comfort in the fact that it’s the last time. As much as I loved my job, it got repetitive after almost a decade. Maybe I should get that number for Sierra’s agent, try to get back on screen. Maybe I’ve grown too complacent, stagnant.

Finally, the questions dry up and the last people leave the room, and just like that, I’m free from my contract. It doesn’t feel like freedom, though, more like a free fall.

“Hey, Romeo, wait up.” Mei stops me by the doors.

“How are you doing? It must be so weird.” She shakes her head. “I don’t know what I’ll do if they ever retire Bunny.”

“You’ll still have others, won’t you?”

“I know, but I’m known for Freezer Bunny, not for… four or five Voidcritters. I can’t even keep track of their names, which is ironic since it’s all they ever say.”

I’m not sure how to respond so I just nod. I’m impatient to get to the cosplay competition, but I don’t want to be rude.

“Mei, it was great seeing you again, but I’m in a bit of a hurry, actually.”

“Sure. Would you – would you want to grab coffee some time, though?”

Shit. Before Julia, I would have gladly followed Mei home tonight, maybe we’d even go on a couple of real dates before things fizzled out as they normally do. But right now, every muscle in my body is telling me that I have to go, to move, to be somewhere else.

“Sorry, I’m, uh. Maybe another time, I don’t…”

The giant poster of my face is judging my lame attempt at stringing together a sentence, and I’m painfully aware that the woman behind us has been sweeping the same spot for a minute now, pretending not to eavesdrop.

“I’m a big girl, Romeo. If you’re not interested, that’s fine.”

“Right. I am sorry, though, it’s not…” I mumble something politely incoherent and more or less flee the room.

Fuck. One year and I’ve completely lost my touch.

I hurry up the stairs, the competition must be just about to end. I can see through the doors before I even reach them, all of the contestants are on stage – and she’s not there.

I stand in front of the doors, frozen, arm still outstretched. This doesn’t make sense, she loves this, she told me about the costume she was planning, she should be here.

There’s no time to dwell on why I so desperately need to see her again, what I would even say to her, the only thing left is fear.

What if something has happened to her? Would I ever know? We’re not together anymore and we have no friends in common, no one who would think of me or assume I’d want to know if she got hurt or sick.

She could be dead. She could be dead and I would never know.

I’m vaguely aware that I’m spiralling but I can’t stop, I feel dizzy. The heat and the lights and the people, everything is too much and I can barely see.

Somehow my feet carry me outside, to the very same bench where we talked for hours on that first night. I try to breathe, deep breaths, but the air is too warm and feels thick.

My hands shake as I log into the anonymous account I made during a moment of weakness after she blocked me, and I pull up her social media in the hopes that she posted something recently, anything that can reassure me that she’s fine.

Relief floods through me when I see the timestamp on her latest updates. San Sequoia Aquarium, just a couple of hours ago. But the relief dissipates quickly as I scroll through the photos.

Nestled between fish and family pictures, there are two selfies with her friend Marten.

I stare at them, suddenly feeling numb.

Her eyes are shining like stars in the lights from the tanks. She’s smiling, and so is he. His arm is around her, possessively, and there’s a hint of triumph in his eyes that I don’t like.

He seems to be carrying her on his back in the other photo, and the thought of her legs wrapped around him awakens an urge to tear him away from her that is almost suffocating.

If they’re not already dating, it’s a matter of time. They would probably have gotten together a long time ago if I hadn’t been there. A petty part of me wonders if he was really being her friend or just biding his time, waiting for me to fumble, but that’s crazy. I barely know the guy. Actually, I don’t really know any of Julia’s friends, I just have a vague idea about their names and who they were to her.

I wasn’t a very good boyfriend, was I?

I told you it was better this way.

I’ve kept reminding myself that I didn’t make a mistake, and here’s proof at last. This was meant to be, they were meant to get together, I just happened to get in the way. He’s been a good friend to her, nice and considerate, while I only brought her chaos and pain.

I was so worried that Julia was wasting my time, but all along, I was the one wasting hers. She deserves better, I know this, but it still feels like I lost her all over again.

I put away the phone and take a deep breath of the scorching air. And then I reach for the tiny, secret corner of my heart where I was nursing my last hope of getting her back and stomp it out.

I, Bug, am not the owner of the blog. I carefully added another person to the blog recently who has been a big help in keeping the blog active these past weeks (?) while i'm currently juggling multiple irl events.

I don't know how much freedom I have and I personally do not want to be in charge of adding Mods and keeping everyone in check.

This blog has rules regarding tagging and posting and if I were to add more people, I would have to oversee everyone's activity for a while to make sure no bad actor has been added. I know first hand how easy it is to accidentally start a riot on here and nobody wants that.

So yes, things are slow. But the two people active right now simply do not have a say in who can be added and any of that so PLEASE stop asking. We are not oblivious to the waiting times and all that stuff. We are doing what we can.

About the fancy screenshot posts

As some of you know, I love making ungodly edits with beautiful screenshots. I want to make these posts again, but as you know, it will take time. It takes a surprisingly long time to make one of those posts, and I recently had an unfortunate thing happen, which resulted in all my save files braking - meaning I have NEVER finished the game and now have no save files to go back to for taking screenshots. I will have to replay the entire game.

I probably will make some fancy posts soon-ish, but i will most likely be forced to re-use old shots. I could offer for those interested to submit their own screenshots to @bugbreach (NOT TO THIS HERE BLOG!!!) if you are okay with me using them for this blog. I could try to sneak in a credit to the people who send them, but i cannot promise that yet (i guess you can just let me know if you want credit or not) also highly recommend Otis_Inf's photo mod on patreon, it's what i'm using)

So I feel like we can tentatively say all the Lever Hands in the trailer are identifiable.

This is probably Wrecker:

Forearm size matches, glove color matches, and Wrecker has big, hefty handplates which are double-layered.

This is probably Hunter:

Everyone has noted how dark Hunter's wraps and armor look above but editing of images aside, we know there's some reason he and Cross wind up in their armor very blackened (from the Danger promo) and this could easily be from after that event (possibly the death of our Beloved Girl :( ).

And this...is probably a Clone X:

Note that it's not Tech (as in, not Tech's armor, obviously Tech The Spy or Tech the Clone X are still on the menu...) as the shape of the plate isn't the same and those gloves seem to have armoring in or on them, which the Clone X gloves DO appear to have. Additionally, the vambrace looks closer to a Clone X's.

So, as to what ship the Clone X is doing that in, well--good question. I guess we'll see.

Added trailer tidbit. During the shots of Mega and Cross' escape--which is in a Rho/Nu-class shuttle--there's an intercut of a LAAT taking fire and spiraling down. This is NOT Omega and Cross crashing on Lau, as that was in the daytime and a different ship entirely. The LAAT appears to be crashing over water.

We see shots of Hunter getting onto a LAAT from Pabu, at night, solo and yeeting TK troopers off it. Same scene, perhaps?

Hello ! I'm fairly new to the fandom: a friend of mine advised me to watch the original series before watching the live action (I'm not American and I had never heard about ATLA before that).

So I wasn't there when the fandom seemed to be torn by the ship wars, like two decades ago. I keep seeing Zutara's fans claiming that their ship was the original endgame except that there's no evidence in the show (at least with my "virgin Atla eyes") and all I can see are interviews of the creators/showrunners saying that Kataang was the endgame all along.

I guess my question is this : is there an actual interview of them entertaining the idea of Zutara at the time (even just to shipbait) ? Because I've been in several fandoms where creators/writers would do that just to keep the audience interested (*cough* Riverdale - yeah you can judge me...).

You say that Nickelodeon promoted the ship wars. In what form ?

That was a long ask. Thanks for reading me!

Okay, so here's what you need to know to fully understand that mess: back when the show was first airing, lots of zutara fans had fully convinced themselves that either the story was going to be changed to make their ship canon (because "it's more popular than Kataang") or that Zutara was TOTALLY planned to be the endgame from day one and that's why some many people liked in the first place (because "there's no way this is all in our heads" - spoiler, it was).

And this wasn't a case of fans simply disagreeing on theories about how the show was going to end - lots of people were being AWFUL to each other on fandom spaces, and the behavior was not exclusive to zutara or even just the other non-canon ships. Everyone was calling anyone who disagreed with their takes stupid and bragging ahead of time of how THEIR ship was going to be canon instead. And because the internet was not at all as inescapable as it is today and information was much harder to verify, some people were making "100% legit claims" that their parents or uncle or cousin or whoever worked on Nickelodeon and had fully confirmed Zutara would indeed be a thing.

Nickelodeon, being the shameless corporation that it is, realized that ship wars could mean A LOT of money because people would keep watching if they thought there was any chance of their ship becoming endgame. So, whenever there was an episode in which Zuko and Katara would interact, they made sure to not only include it in the promo for the episode, they'd describe it as "sharing a special moment" or "growing closer" even when that was not what was going to happen in the episode itself. They didn't do that just with Avatar either, and would spend years pulling simmilar things with the hit shows ICarly and Victorious, both of which had ship wars too. In hindsight (and even back then if we simply compare the promos to the episodes) it's obvious that Nick's promos should not have been taken seriously, but Zutara fans latched onto them as "proof" anyway (and some Nick exec laughed all the way to the bank).

But then the finale happened, Kataang and Maiko were endgame, and Zuko and Katara were never even stated to be interested in each other like that. The ship just wasn't a factor in the story - much like Kataang and Maiko fans had said it wouldn't be, because it was obvious what the writers were actually going for.

So, instead of admiting they let their enjoyment of a fanon ship get a little out of hand and that, even though they had every right to like it, it simply never had any chance of being canon and they shouldn't have insisted otherwise when the truth was so clear, they went for a different approach: just double-down on the lie that they had inside knowledge about the show's writting and production, and make up a whole conspiracy about how the lead writer and "true creator" Aaron Ehasz and everybody else had been building up to Zutara from day one, but then Bryan and Michael or "Bryke", the evil showrunners, meddled at the last second and forced them to change everything.

They also claimed there were things like a "deleted" scene in the finale, with Iroh saying Katara would be perfect for Zuko, or with a kiss between the characters, or Katara telling Aang she loved someone else, ya know, all kinds of copes. Nickelodeon made it worse by airing some "fun production facts" during re-runs, plenty of which were obviously fake - but one mentioned "Zuko was going to be Katara's original love interest" so plenty of people were willing to pretend it was all 100% legitimate. And the icing on the cake was an "interview" in which Ehasz supposedly confirmed all of the conspiracies, "proving" zutara fans had always been right about everything and it's the Kataang and Maiko fans that were lying to themselves.

Unfortunatelly for these people, pretty much EVERYONE has a social media presence nowadays, and it's really easy to not only get in contact with writers and producers of the shows we like, but to also PROVE that what you're telling everyone is indeed what that person said.

And there's tons of videos and screenshots of everyone involved in writting and producing the show saying, including the ones that like Zutara, saying KATAANG was the planned endgame from the start, and Aaron Ehasz has repeatedly said that the supposed "interview" in which he validates the zutara endgame conspiracy and "calls out" Bryke is completely fake, and he's happy MAI got to live happily ever after with Zuko.

Finally, we got access to "the series bible", aka the original plans for the show, and we got to see everything that was cut or changed: Uncle Iroh was originally going to be a twist villain that would betray Zuko, Azula was still going to be a prodigy and Ozai's favorite child but she'd be Zuko's older brother instead of his younger sister, and there was a cut love triangle between Aang, Katara... and TOPH, who was going to be a super buff dude, much like we see in Ember Island Players and in the opening sequence of every episode because yes, they had already designed that character AND started book 1 when decided "Wouldn't a blind girl that looks delicate but can wreck people's shit be more interesting than this generic guy?"

But even now that disproving this Zutara endgame conspiracy is easier than ever because we can just ask the people who made the show, some people continue insisting that all these writers and producers, again some of which DO like Zutara, are lying for no reason - or because "Bryke is forcing them to hide it all."

They're just desperately trying to save face and pretend that they didn't spend over a decade lying to themselves and their buddies, and sometimes using this conspiracy to justify bullying, threatening and doxxing people.

It's VERY sad.

fav Onmyoji character and why?🤔

*cracks knuckles* Alright, you got me with this ask.

1. Asura Objectively, the number one favorite. You cannot separate his character or his story from Taishakuten, but in the end I guess it's natural to become very attached to the hero of a specific story, (a double hero story of a hero and an anti-hero, who switch roles halfway through), especially if they're so, so wonderfully fucked up. Asura (and when I speak of him, it applies to Taishakuten too, since neither character would be who they are without the other) is the deepest, most fleshed-out, most complicated and unique character in the entire game. His story and characterization and the accompanying media is so incredibly well produced, it can easily compete (and beat) other highly acclaimed stories out there. To think this was made, as essentially promo material, for a free-to-play mainland Chinese gacha game is absolutely NUTS. Yes I will praise this story and its production level to the stars because it irreversibly changed me. To me, this is the problematic, dramatic, queer love story. You know how Asura tells Taishakuten how meeting him was as if finally finding the thing he had been searching for all his life. This is me with this story, and this character. What I love is how he's so deeply complicated and inherently flawed, that even with the "good end" he chose for himself, his internal conflict is never resolved. He's someone who fights for genuine justice, someone who is genuinely caring, someone who's deep down insecure about himself, about opening himself up, trusting others, someone who wants to live a simple life and enjoy the little things. But he also genuinely enjoys committing mass murder, sadistic torture, he's rash and impulsive, he's someone who naturally chooses cruel means to an end. He swore to never kill again, to go against the very core of him, lock himself up and seal his own powers. And yet the first thing he does upon returning to the world of peace he made possible... is to murder without a second thought. And it's not a plot hole, it's a feature. Even when he's sane, he "learned" to deal with his own trauma in a completely unhealthy way, possibly as self punishment. This is obvious by how he's so loving and caring when dealing with Taishakuten's trauma.... Also I just want to add one thing. I'm glad I'm somehow able to gleefully ignore the fandom at large because, sorry, they don't get it. I'm tired of seeing nothing but fans taking everything interesting away from this story and washing it down to "uwu cute domestic boyfriends". Like heck no, these characters are so good because they are made to be incredibly fucked up.

2. Orochi Tough choice... but it's Orochi, the reason why I started playing this game. Again, a character who's absolutely delicious to rotate around in my brain like a rotisserie chicken because he's so complicated and so inherently flawed, and yet so right at the same time. Imho, he's an amazing antagonist and again, I very much distance myself from the fandom wo won't shut up about "snake eating books". Because both due to the nature of the game and its subsequent production approach, and because of its target audience, which is very much young adults despite the 8+ rating, where I don't even understand how they achieved this rating with all the outright graphic violence, drug abuse, and 900 dollar "micro" transactions etc, the story won't be explained and presented to you on a silver plate. You're supposed to come up with your own interpretation for certain parts, and it's exactly why stories for adult audiences are so enjoyable, for me anyway. Something that is a major contributing factor to me loving Orochi so much is Miyano Mamoru's voice acting which is absolutely insane. Not sure how the director instructed him, or how much they pay him, but basically he sounds like on the verge of an orgasm the entire goddamn time with the way how he deeply savors each word on his tongue before speaking it, and it's so incredibly fitting. Maybe Miyano Mamoru understands Orochi better than the writers themselves, who knows... Regardless, the way how Orochi's character and personality is so perfectly portrayed through the voice acting is heavenly. His voice is like sickly sweet, thick, honey, innocent and nonchalant, yet dominating and bewitching. I mean. You can just hear for yourself. (Note, it's best if you can understand Japanese because the official English translations unfortunately suck.)

3. Suzuka Wait, an actually good-aligned character??? Anyway, Suzuka is a wonderful take on the "big sister" archetype. She is big-hearted, kind, accepting, strong, determined, and has a great sense of responsibility. But she ends up being too trusting in others, in the way that she believes others are just as strong as her to fend for themselves, which ends up literally devastating her entire found family and the place they called home, literally killing her most important person in body and mind, her found brother. And yet, she's so strong to be able to not give up, to accept all the pain, to heal and to rebuild what they have lost. Also, as someone with the best big sister in the world, her character just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. She's wonderful.

And as a bonus, here's a selection of other favs in no particular order, because hell, in the end it's a waifu collection game and there's bound to be a lot of favs for varying reasons.

Enma, because I'm not immune to bewitching milfs, and her design is one of the absolute best in the entire game.

Tsukuyomi, because they're so sad and wonderfully questionable, also actually canon non-binary.

Onikiri. Groomed to be fucked up, and yet after regaining his free will, he willingly steps back into that path, because it's what he inherently craves. So delicious.

Garuda, my favorite disaster bi bird and Asura's pet dog. Probably one of the "normalest" and ironically most likeable characters. He's a bit conceited, strong and actually.... smart. And smart in the way that he knows his place, knows his limits and won't try things out of his league. And yet he can't help his smugness and want to test the waters... but he's a survivor still : ^)

And honorary mention to my fav hairy braindead bimbo slut, Kamikui. Yep I love them very dearly, and they're also carried by incredible voice acting.

yuguyao cpns part v. 💕

i swear, this promo period seems more active than ool when it comes to cpn potential and i’m not complaining at all it’s just interesting to see the clues. this will contain some double standard stuff which may not be to some people’s liking so keep that in mind.

We saw the hoverboard again in one of the YGY bts, i would imagine it’s the same one he had during Ace Troops which was allegedly given by WYB. Since XZ isn’t that confident on a skateboard and something like this will be so much better when he needs to do long walks during shoots or if he just wants to have fun. I have so much love for this CPN, because it shows their connection. How they try and be interested in what other likes, even if ZZ did try skateboards before, this is a “compromise”. It’s meeting Bobo’s hobby in the middle.

ZZ rapping in the bts! AHHHHH! Of course this is an obvious CPN to us. We all know who the rapper is. I’m just here thinking about ZZ who might not be partial to rap but started listening to some because of wang yibo, his husband.

SHIYING x XIEYUN technique is same/similar. I guess this is a usual martial arts fantasy move but it’s a happy coincidence cause people have been making edits of them lately and this happens. We don’t even have to make things up at this point. 😂

Moving onto the double standard. I wanna start with a disclaimer that I don’t have anything against his co-star or any of their co-stars in film and tv. Especially if they star as their heroine or partner. I have no problem with a project’s cp promotion because that’s really how it goes. Especially on this show where the plot revolves around SY & ZY connection to each other. It’s okay for them to have “chemistry” with their co-stars because it helps the show. I have no issue with them being friendly with female co-stars because i am happy when they are comfortable in their workplace. lord knows how grueling their shooting schedule so it helps that they can get along with their “office mates” lol.

so now that we have that out of the way, let’s look at this example people are talking about…..

• In this scene where they accidentally fall on the bed, the BTS shows ZZ not holding on to the actress. making sure his hands don’t touch her waist. There are other examples of this and then you have him and WYB, secretly holding hands. lol. I am aware that this is more out of respect, not wanting to seem to handsy with a co-star when the script does not call for it. but well, this is how cpn goes. with wyb, he is comfortable in a different way. there are no boundaries.

• Another one where the actress is obviously flustered by ZZ, and rightfully so. GG is reacting on his own way but still very professional. But when it’s with WYB, there is a sense of 😏😏😏 energy. I guess i’m not the only one on here who did a double take seeing all the BTS between XZ & WYB even before being a cpf. We all tried to brush it off as cp-marketing or editors trying to make stuff out of anything but things just don’t add up.

I don’t know if anyone has ever come up with a heterosexual explanation for all of that especially p3 but till then, it’s bjyxszd 😂😂😂

Marika wanted to kill Godwyn?🤔 wouldn't be weird for her to tear her legacy apart idk but this is a popular theory and I want to know what do you think of it?

Okay, it might come as a surprise since you mention that this theory is "popular", but.. your ask is literally the first time I've ever heard about this take existing! I guess it goes to show I've gotten TOO comfortable getting all theories and headcanons from my dashboard formed by the same like 10 mutuals fjhhfddd

So, I asked my friend @val-of-the-north to give me the context on justifications for this idea 🤔 To condense it, it is held on Marika being a Nox herself and closely associated with the Nox still (can see the influence in Melina fighting like the Black Knives and Radagon using their Celestial Dew for example), how in the end both Marika and the Nox are against the Greater Will, quote by Finger Reader in Deeproot Depths saying that Godwyn was supposed to be a "martyr of Destined Death" differently and how she is said to have betrayed Maliketh! From myself, I've also remembered that the soulless demigods who were murdered during Night of the Black Knives are also referred to as her 'unwanted' children, that could explain her willingness to rid of some offspring, but I double-checked and this is even more layered:

So yeah, I can sorta see the potential in the idea of her having reasons to get rid of some of her bastard children (maybe they were a threat to her reign for all we know?), and things did not go as planned as Godwyn, who is definitely not a bastard, got involved! She did not want that, as we heard that what motivated her to scatter the Elden Ring was her grief from the promo trailer, and she would likely not want the existence of 'Prince of Death' figure that violated her order that is against living in Death!

So yeah, the theory could go in a way of Marika trying to do her own stuff, maybe for a good reason for all we know, but being betrayed by the Black Knives and Ranni once they were given the opportunity and losing it! As a ruler, she had to take a hell lot of morally reprehensible decisions to preserve it and herself - a very common concept! And yet, that unexpectedly cost her the child she actually loved and wanted around. It is the "Godwyn's death driven her to the brink" part why I am not convinced his death was her calculated sacrifice, personally.

It still can be, of course! Maybe she expected him to 'just' die, but he became Prince of Death (a figure of similar importance as Goddess of Rot!), so her being driven to the brink refers to fear for her legacy and control, and being tired of wrestling to keep her status since everyone, even Greater Will itself, want her gone THAT much. Or maybe she expected to take it cool but forgot she had feelings too and lost it in regrets! I am just more on the side of reading her grief more directly! And, again:

So far it seems like it were the Black Knives / Nox and Ranni who had the plan to work against the Greater Will initially, rather than Marika having her rebellion against it in mind from the start and placing Godwyn on the altar of the goal!

There are further stretching 'clues' such as Sellia descending from Nox themselves and initially opposing Golden Order by housing bunch of glintstone sorcerers who hail from Astrologers, since them and Raya Lucaria were "hostile" magic to all that Golden Grace stuff before marriage of Rennala and Radagon! Carians were themselves initially in opposition + Puppets rituals of their Preceptors being invented by Nox, but you get the point! Unification of two (three??) opposing factions through their leaders doesn't necessarily sit well with everyone else involved, even if they are simply descendants that just want to reclaim their lost heritage! It is not just Sellen being like that, although she is the 'spokespeople' for the sentiment: the hostile moods probably have been lingering and boiling up in general! This trope is old as civilisation itself, moreover, happened in real history all the time!

Yeah, Marika as Radagon "erased" all the warcrimes from the general memory, but, again: the methods themselves were invention of Nox!

Clearly, some witness yet remained, and seems to be linked to the people that were aligned with the 'stars'! That is to say, that betrayal by Black Knives falls into place more naturally in my opinion: be it full on murder spree of her family by their own volition, or she wanted them to do one thing but her trust cost her dearly!

As for Maliketh, I do also think that the Rune of Death was stolen from him without Marika plotting anything about this! I asked someone else and seems like the last sentence, '後にそれを裏切ったのだ' more closely translates to 'Later, he was betrayed [by whoever is the previous person mentioned in the context]'. Correct us if we're wrong but it seems that there is no 'even then' link (so, no ties between betrayal and him holding the Death for her), which kinda is simpler and makes more sense anyhow!

Since Shadowbeasts are product of the Greater Will, and supposedly will rebel if their Empyrean fails or betrays it (source: Iji's paranoia about Blaidd and Blaidd actually being an odd one out), Marika should have been concerned about him! I think that her betrayal was giving him false hope to redeem himself by reclaiming Destined Death through consuming the Deathroots, but turned out she never planned so and simply needed an excuse to keep him far away when she'd shatter the Elden Ring! He thought that even if losing the Destined Death cost her Godwyn (and other children, we don't know her relationship with the 'bastards'), she was still willing to forgive it as long as he fixes what can be fixed and becomes "useful" again..

Another reason why I lean more towards Black Knives simply turning on Marika's bloodline due to variety of historical and ideological reasons rather than given a task and betraying, is that they started with Godwyn! Had it been something plotted and gone wrong, murder of Godwyn would've been dramatic plot twist rather than the first priority! I think words of that Finger Reader have no different meaning than Miquella's prayer; that Godwyn should have died in peace as a victim, instead of becoming the all-corrupting abomination he is now.

The point she is also making more specifically, is that it is, again, a bad thing for someone of the Golden Lineage to represent what is against the Golden Order! The different reading of this line is that she'd make an "example" of Godwyn to fear and hate any folks that 'oppose' Golden Order, or opposed it in the past, as well as remove the "competition" for her reign in the face of her superstar child. I had to take Val's words on what pointers are used in this theory, so I am only addressing this bit based on the fact that he brought it up too!

So yeah, to conclude the post, this theory could work with some assumptions and headcanons, but I am good with the take that leaves Marika betrayed and clueless! The theory at times makes Marika even more of an evil mastermind, and other times makes her a very drastic rebel against GW from the get go! As for me, she has done enough of far-fetched plotting and warcrimes in her life, but I think everyone has limits on how much they can predict. Just treacherous fate of any ruler of this kind, really.

i have one fear and it’s that they’ll double down on het!eddie and have him actually reject buck. one fear that the ‘not so good’ things that their ‘friendship perseveres’ through and brings them ‘closer’ (teased by o and r) are actually one sided unrequited feelings that buck gets over. it would acknowledge queer buck and give a little validation to buddie shippers, but without actually making it a thing. i don’t know if they would actually do something like that, especially as buddie shippers make up a huge proportion of the fandom who in turn are important for streaming, rewatching, promo, social media buzz etc. but i fear it anyway lol

They wouldn't let Ryan say shit like "this goes beyond friendship and I love you to the core" if they were planning on doubling down on the whole Eddie is straight angle like that. People would call queerbaiting and be right about it this time. You can't make Buck queer without making Eddie queer. I highly doubt Buck's "learning more about himself" is about him being queer, because after 5 seasons of build up, to have Buck end up with a random guy would kill the show. Maybe not the show but legit make a lot of people stop watching because the crazy buddie shippers would leave and the "dont make Buck a men kisser" crowd that's been on the internet lately would also leave. So like, that would be the dumbest thing. Completely ignoring buddie would be better than having buddie canonically be one sided. ABC knows the power they have in terms of audience when it comes to buddie, so much they are using Oliver and Ryan to promote in a way that hasn't happened since Eddie got introduced from what I can find. Leaving buddie on the will they/won't they is the way to go if they have no plans of getting them together. Making any definitive statements about buddie that are not "I love you" "I love you too" *intense kissing* would be shooting themselves in the foot, because losing the buddie crowd would damage their ratings and they are investing too much on the show to do that. The show is a story, yes, but the show is also a business, so this is the type of thing you need to look at as an executive. Even if buddie getting together is never happening, to keep people guessing is good for business.

But a couple of months ago I found out that the cards on Mike’s bulletin board are garbage pail kids cards, one of which is called Evil Eddie.

And I just went back to that post and thought “hmm, what if there’s something about Edward Creel?”

So, as the insane person that I am, I googled garbage pail kids cards that have the name “Henry” in it first and then “Edward” instead of just Eddie.

And well….

One thing I learned about garbag pail kids cards is that one image can have multiple (i think it’s always two) different names….

And I can imagine that they probably had to buy these cards in a bundle? Like, I don’t think they just bought four cards for the set design/prop department lmao. And all the cards that they put up in Mike’s room (that we can see) also have the same names as other characters from the show so mayyyyybee….. maybe we’ll see these two cards in s5?👀

The Receipts - Vegas, Baby! (Sept 2016)

So, this ask made me realize I wanted to step out of order in the timeline and do a fun stand alone moment – the Las Vegas couples’ trip of 2016.

Now, the Las Vegas trip is interesting because it exists on different levels. There’s the simple didactic level of dates and events, but then there’s also the level of fandom distraction and after-event gossip. So, let’s go!

In September 2016 Chris and Jenny were in L.A., as his MA house had begun undergoing extensive renovations. While I’m sure there were also business meetings to attend, it seemed it was mostly to do with getting out of the way of construction crews.

Now, to set the scene before the short Vegas weekend trip: a lot of shit was going down in fandom, because Jenny’s twitter feed was painting a not so cohesive picture of the “loving” couple. They seemed to be there, but separately there. We’ll get into all this when I get around to writing up September 2016 in full. But, suffice it to say, a lot of discussion was going on. We were also on pins and needles because it had been announced she was doing one of her comedy shows on Saturday, September 17th at the Largo Theatre in L.A. Everyone was taking bets on whether or not he would show up.

Thursday, September 15, 2016:

In fandom: It was a huge day. HUGE, for Jenny. Perhaps you may or may not remember, Chris and Jenny attended one of his friend’s weddings in Rhode Island over July 4th weekend. Well, fandom knew he had been there that weekend, but we didn’t think she had. Not until this specific day, when a helpful Anon went to a certain blog (guess) to point out that there were photos on a wedding photographer’s page. Photos of Chris and Jenny there together. Thanks, helpful Anon who may or may not but in almost all probability was Jenny herself. Well, that was like the Hiroshima bomb of distraction for the whole weekend for the fandom. It was all we concentrated on, the dissection of those wedding photos which were by that point over two months old.

In social media: Jenny made an IG post of being in a hotel room that had a phone in the bathroom. She seemed charmed by this fact. She deleted the post the same night. (Sorry, I don’t have a screencap, but have seen it. It was nothing special. An old style phone on a wall). We should have known this was bait.

In reality that we did not know yet: Chris and Jenny, Tara and Jason, Scott and his bf(?) and Guillermo and his wife had flown to Vegas for a weekend stay at Caesar’s. The phone in the bathroom was in a Caesar’s suite.

Also, in irony I cannot make up, September 15th was Jenny and Dean’s wedding anniversary. You know, Dean, the man she was legally married to for the whole of round one.

Friday, September 16, 2016:

In fandom: We are still arguing over the ramifications and meanings of wedding pics that are over two months old. We have no clue.

In social media: It was quiet. Too quiet.

In reality that we did not know yet: The friends group is enjoying their weekend comped trip to celebrate the double birthdays of Scott and Tara. They are staying, once again, in suites and rooms at Caesar’s. Dinner is, once again, at Nobu in Caesar’s. After dinner the group takes in a performance of “O” by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio

In fandom: What do you think we were doing? We were still arguing about those damned wedding pics.

In social media: It was quiet! Like the calm before a storm.

In reality that we did not know yet: The friends group (or only Jenny? this is murky) returned from Vegas back to Los Angeles. Before leaving, Chris had to take this promo pic, which would be released on the 20th.

Here’s where it gets interesting. That night was Jenny’s comedy show at the Largo Theater. No one turned up for it. Not Chris. Not a single member of that group who had just been with her for three days. Huh.

Then, on Sunday the 18th, shit hits the fan, at least for fandom:

MJF's year as Champion

MJF has been champion for one year after beating an extremely protected Jon Moxley. He spent the first half being a heel, avoiding conflict and manipulating opponents. Some has been good if not great, his feud with Danielson is one of the best and his match with Ricky Starks is an underrated gem that I don't see many talk about mostly because of both men's trajectory. There has been some bad, the four pillars feud exposed 1/2 of the men as not ready for the main event spot, I won't say who but if you go back to watch the promo battles you can see who I mean.

Enter Adam Cole. Cole was out for an extended period of time and whenever talent is out for that amount they typically return as a face, especially if they're entertaining. After doing his time in the Jericho Pit, he would go after the World Title. MJF and Him would have a match where it came to a draw, and MJF would deny overtime to decide a winner. However, a randomized tag team tournament forced them to work together. This is typically something the WWE would do, a scenario where two guys feuding must work together "CAN THEY GET ALONG" where they do gel but end up turning on each other. Cole and MJF would become friends, with constant teasing that they one would double cross the other. The twist: neither man has.

This would create the biggest buzz in the company. MJF would be seen as one of those guys who would never turn face, but he proved us wrong. It felt like a challenge for Max, trying to prove that he can be as compelling and fun as a face as he was a heel. In the world of wrestling, heels seem to have more creativity, and it may seem hard, but I'd argue it's easier to get people to dislike you. It's hard to get people to like you. MJF achieved that and made moves like a double clothesline and a front drop kick more over than any other move in the company.

Both men would open and close AEW's and modern wrestling's Biggest Event Ever. So how do you follow that? Well by erroneously making MJF the center of the universe, and unfortunately over stuffing the title picture. MJF and Cole won the ROH Tag Belts, which have been turned into trinkets something they'd hang on their Christmas tree. Neither man have worked an ROH Honorclub episode, Cole has the excuse of being super injured at least. You'd think that this would be a good time for a heel team to beat an handicapped team for some quick heat right? Wrong, there's been two instances where MJF has fended off heel teams, once by himself. Alone, MJF began to feud with the hottest heel stable in the company Bullet Club Gold. Jay White would challenge and taunt MJF for months, however he wouldn't get the champ's sole attention. Wardlow would return much to my chagrin to do sloppy powerbombs (the man is a walking tabula rasa) and challenge MJF. Samoa Joe wants a rematch since MJF and Cole heroically cheated to beat him. Also there's a masked man in MJF's devil costume beating up people who are near MJF either as friend and foe.

Oh yes one more thing, MJF has to deal with Roderick Strong and the kingdom. Seems like there's a lot on his plate, seems like he would be distracted and therefore would be more likely to lose? Nope. MJF got """hurt""" during his tag match against the Gunns to build tension for the main event title match but won anyways. He would sell his leg as hurt but then do moves that would worsen his condition because there was a Seth Rollins particles leak in his locker room I guess.

Jay White is a former two time IWGP World Champion. He's beaten every top guy in New Japan. In his first year there he proved himself as a top gaijin heel. Plebians who have no tastes would say he was boring, his matches too long, and he needed interference to win. They're wrong and their money stacks shorter than mini me. Jay White would prove the haters wrong by making a seamless transition into a western heel and as I said before became a part of the hottest heel act. He then went on to lose to a hurt, distracted MJF.

A man of that caliber was just a stepping stone for a rematch against another high caliber talent but I fear that match may be another stepping stone because there's a Wardlow waiting in the wings and a devil to be unmasked. MJF's story feels unfocused and frustrating. I know he's the most over guy in the company, but he's held the belt for well over a year and just doesn't seem to lose even when it wouldn't hurt him to. I imagine Cole destroying his foot and ankle threw a wrench into the plan, but the response to that should not be to sacrifice high quality talent to the wrestling gods to keep things afloat.

I have enjoyed MJF's run with the belt and am pleased he resigned. However don't turn him into an untouchable champion, the fun should be the possibility of him losing. If he wins too much then there's less and less stakes.

honestly anon (btw hi!!!✨) i don't know if i can truly commit to anything at this point, mainly bc i think everyone thinks im batshit crazy enough as it is and honestly i agree with them🤡

i guess the three that im reasonably confident, or at least hope im mostly correct, on are: second coming, crowley's fall, and the majority of the 40s minisode one.

(obviously there are elements in them that have been debunked through promos/the eps, but ive largely kept them unedited in the Final W&S Days for integrity's sake)

im also frustratingly hopeful that my s2-screenings-follow-Clue-a-bit-too-well theory is correct, i guess, but im literally 50/50 between thinking this is galaxy brain level shit vs 'im a menace to society for coming up with this utter bollocks'

as for taking back: lmao crowley works in the DD pub (tho i still think that could have been GOLD), crowley is a double agent (like i was kinda right but not insomuch that he actively wants to do it), and that the boys fuck up the ineffable plan (this one i still wonder if elements/the vibe is correct, but yeah i think this is largely wrong).
