ok so i haven't played kh3 yet (i know, i know but im rewatching and catchING UP shhh) but i have actively sought out yozora spoilers when they came out and i do know of versus xiii plot speculation bc i avidly watched over them when it was still in production. this is ALL SPECULATION, obviously. but we love to speculate don’t we?? under a read more bc it’s gonna be a long one bois.

ok let’s start from the beginning, most of you probably heard/read on this already but just to cover my bases

name translations

yozora [夜空] = night sky

sora [空] = sky

verum rex [latin] = true king

noctis lucis caelum [latin] = light of the night sky (”In terms of the translation, it's very possible that "Light of the Night Sky" is the intended translation. Storywise, it could be interpreted as the "light of expiring souls" that Noctis can see.") 

stella nox fleuret [latin] = when the stars cry, the night burns (”Stella Nox Fleuret: I have to explain this. Nox and Noctis are the same thing. Nox is the nominative; Noctis is the genetive showing an obvious connection between the two. Flueret is a compound name/verb. I believe it is subjunctive but if you get the meaning it doesn't matter.Fluere- to cry; ueret- to burn Her name meaning: When the stars cry, the night burns or The star cries and the night burns or The night cries and burn in the night.”)

and so the nameless star = stella (literally translates to “star”)

already we can see the glaring similarities and themes of their names. more conclusive evidence from kh3:

when sora ask’s the nameless star who’s heart she is, she replies, “no one’s anymore. they took away my name - everything about me.” this can literally be taken in-game as she is formless with no name. but can also be derived by the fact that the character stella was essentially cut from the ffxv game and replaced with lunafreya

on noctis’ and stella’s unique abilities

as it’s been mentioned before noctis has this ability to see the “light of expiring souls.” the ability to see expiring souls. this was said about him, “prince of the lucis kingdom, noctis luci caelum. possessing eyes which can sense the death of others.” i know this quote for a fact was intended to be said of his original character. it was in his bio, in official translations, it was all over before. i even made a graphic on this exact quote 5 years ago. now his bio obviously is rewritten to be about ffxv’s noctis.

noctis’ eyes are blue, ordinarilly but when he’s summoning his eyes turn a red color.

sound familiar? yozora’s blue and red eyes.

stella still has her original quotes in the wiki because she was cut from the game but she too has the ability to see the light of expiring souls. she tells him on their chance meeting, “you can see the light, right? so can i.” 

noctis is the prince of a kingdom that worships a goddess of death named etro. she is said to open the doors to the heavens to welcome the souls of the dead. but when the doors burst open the light shines down from heaven and releases all the dead souls back into the world of the living and those who can see this light are granted with power. sound familiar? the kh3′s final world would essentially be equivalent to the afterlife, heaven. (wait a foockin moment why is sora in this world then.................) they also both have prevalent themes of light and dark between a door. i can see how nomura could weave a rebooted versus xiii concept into kingdom hearts

on the endings of kh3 remind 

in the ending of remind noctis is shown waking from his supposed “dream” and so the iconic quote comes along, “i’ve been having these weird dreams lately... like is any of this for real, or not?” 

DREAMS, ok dreams are huge. in versus xiii trailers we are constantly being shown noctis sleeping and it has been a notion that tabata’s team has continued to use in ffxv.

tabata’s team even came out with ffxv platinum demo in which young noctis is navigating through his dreams. A convenient coincidence that he also fights with toy weapons against some toy enemies lol. 

they also released the omen trailer which basically was a total dream sequence. he has never fought with lunafreya in the game. most of these scenes weren’t even in the game except for the scene of him fighting against soldiers and falling through the floor. 

which again came out in the game as a dream. where they a separate reality perhaps? noctis had/has the ability to traverse “dreams”... or alternate realities? no clue. 

on the BAD ending of kh3 remind

ok i have like 3 different ideas on yozora’s idea of “saving sora” = defeating/crystallizing him (but tbh only one of them makes sense LMAO [the 3rd one if u dont want to read the others])

this first idea is where “seeing the light of expiring souls” comes back up. AND where the TIN FOIL HATS come ON. in versus xiii, i cannot stress this enough, it has been SPECULATED, that stella has been dead all along. and that all the instances he’s seen her were all his own dreams, hallucinations and/or his own ability to see expiring souls. the “fact” of this came from the fact that the only times we’ve seen stella was when she was alone with noctis. she’s not fully done with the real world but her light is expiring. and that see too can see lights because she herself is one. to “save her” he fights her so she can go to the afterlife (?) 

second idea is also..... umm. i swear, I SWEAR i remember reading up on noctis being somehow related to the goddess of death, etro a long time ago. and that his people helped in guiding the lights of the expiring souls. so in a sense this ties in with the first theory in that he’s fighting these lost souls to save them 

the third one is the one that has at least some basis. in the final fantasy universe crystallization is a recurring thing. but to be completely vague. people’s memories can also crystallize into crystals known as fragments, found throughout the timeline. people can crystallize after losing a battle of life and death and come back to life. some people when crystallized can be sucked into a new unseen realm.

speculation of an actual real to life upcoming verum rex game 

yozora believes that the final world in which he meets “sora” isn’t the real world. “no, this isn’t the real world, and i am here. but this isn’t what i really look like. how’d you recognize me as yozora?” the fact that he is aware that his appearance is not how it used to be is a clue. it is a major way for nomura to squeeze in a real-life game and connection without actually showing the game. he’s done it before. with final fantasy characters. someone link the post pleaseeee (i in hindsight should’ve just reblogged it or liked but now i cant find it ;;) but i read it recently that some final fantasy games were promoted in the toy store in the toy store chapter. if these characters that sora meets in his own franchise are from another franchise, what’s stopping nomura from hinting at an upcoming franchise this way?

aikatsu stars episode 67 spoilers (also a Lot of speculation about future SPR stuff)

man we Just had Rola’s SPR ep and now it’s Yuzu’s. slow down!!!

I'm really curious what Yuzu’s going to do in this ep to earn her wings? because from the preview it just seemed like she’s going to make all the other idols run around and do stuff...

tiny Yuzu’s treasure map just shows the treasure directly in front of Lily’s bed, where Lily was. did Lily not notice her dragging a huge box in front of her and climbing into it.....?

Rola doesn’t get to have special swimsuit hair...

Lily’s twintails are ofc the highlight of this ep but Yuzu’s pon-de-ring hair is really good too

I love Lily’s famous quote bgm... I used to think that part of her character was kind of pretentious but now that we know so much about Lily, I can’t imagine thinking that...

I know everyone’s already talked about it a lot but I wasn’t around yesterday so: finally, confirmation on how many SPRs there are!!! if there’s 9 including two we haven’t had officially confirmed yet, then one is Rei’s leaked/unofficial one and the other is... either Ako’s or Hime-senpai’s... yikes!! for the first time I’m leaning more toward thinking that Ako’s admiration of Fuwafuwa Dream isn’t misdirection, but actually an indication that she’s going to be co-muses with Kirara for real. I mean that would def be a more interesting and unique plot and good character development too, but FD just doesn’t look great on her, and it feels like more of the same Ako belittling that aistars likes to do... and I mean option B would be that Ako never gets an SPR at all (NO!!!!) and instead is made an example of in the same way that Sumire was way back in the Starlight Queen Cup.

there’s option C too, which is that Rei and Ako get the remaining SPRs and the Sun dress goes to Hime-senpai. I feel like that would require an arc about Hime-senpai failing to get an SPR though, which seems most unlikely of all... but the leaked Sun wings also look like they could be from MLH or at least a cute-type brand, so, maybe?

also I’m gonna address something that I saw passed around really quick: at this point, it’s a stretch to say that the idea of Elza wanting the Sun dress is selfish or going to be detrimental to other idols in some way. (note: at no point is it called an ‘SPR’ or are wings mentioned--it almost certainly will be SPR rarity in the game and it’ll def have wings, but I think in terms of the show’s lore it’s better to consider it a unique coord of a higher rarity than any other coord, including SPRs.) like... if you knew there was a “miracle dress that could illuminate even the darkest night” and you also knew that you were capable of unlocking it by doing your best as an idol and encouraging other talented fellow idols to do their best... why wouldn’t you try to get the Sun dress...? I know I sure would.

the anime version of this stage/coord are ok. I’m glad they seem to have finally fixed the giant feet they used to give the cg models but I’m still waiting for the miniature t-rex arms to be fixed and I won’t truly know happiness until they are. as a general rule of thumb: if your arms are so small as to be able to fit completely inside your head when bent, they’re too damn small

Yuzu didn’t really do something to earn her wings in the way that Mahiru/Lily/Rola did (and she clearly surprised Elza because of it lmao), but you know, that’s ok. spontaneity is kind of Yuzu’s thing and I like the idea that Yuzu thinking “im gonna try hard!!!!” is enough for her to get an SPR

...so when are we getting the Lily/Yuzu double SPR live we deserve

aikatsu stars episode 47 spoilers (these just get longer and longer..,)

I fell asleep immediately after getting home yesterday so I had to wait a day to watch it and as a result I’ve been thinking about aistars and especially did Mahiru beat Yozora nonstop for 24 hours. whew. miraculously, I have not been spoiled, somehow

Ako’s “I don’t have time to mope! I’m the next S4!” was so cute and good... the anime uses her as the joke character all the time, but she’s literally always trying to be helpful and she’s the only one of the main four who’s not been a crap friend at some point... I love her and I’m glad she made S4 ( ˃̣̣̥ω˂̣̣̥ ) and I’m still stuck in last week’s ep lmao

Ako raises the “Mahiru wins” flag by saying a new idol needs to win so the next S4 don’t look talentless in comparison to the current ones (giving herself a sick burn in the process??)....... guess I don’t need to watch the rest now...

I love the S4 theme song, I hope they keep it in HnT. it’s like.. if the S4 uniform was turned into a sound, that would be it. (im... v tired ok,)

it sounds super weird and silly for them to say each other’s full names... you know Yozora only did it bc Mahiru did it first though

I was literally in the middle of thinking about how weird it is that Mahiru’s aura is just like floating chocolate, and there’s not really any sort of allegory there, chocolate’s just a thing she likes, and if I had my aura assigned to me according to those half-assed rules it’d be milk cartons and convenience store purin, and what a crap aura THAT would be, and then!!! she suddenly got a new aura!! Yume’s not the only one with an evolving aura, how cool!!! the new one is so gorgeous and suits her really well and I’d love it if auras that evolved every time an idol became stronger was a consistent, recurring thing in aistars!!

the Arabian Sparkle coord is still my favorite sexy-type PR from aistars. glad to see it one last time... Future Transit is just ok though (imo) (also it’s Koharu’s.)

Yozora’s passing RK on to Mahiru, which confirms for the first time that she’s the designer. no... that’s like the final nail in the ‘no designers in aistars’ coffin. that’s super depressing for me honestly.... as nice as the idea of idols designing their own brands is, I love the oldkatsu designer characters SO MUCH and not having a aistars counterpart for them is sad. but at the same time I’m laughing really hard at that being represented by Yozora handing Miss Romance to Mahiru
