managers really think they know it all, huh?
#ilguna#okay story time because this needs context#sometime in november my GM went thru another delusional phase where she thinks she needs to revamp rules#she does this every couple months#and so she put up like cleaning duties every day for every position#and it was split between am team and pm team#and it was minor shit that would be easy to upkeep if we did it every week#like cleaning the kitchen doors or wiping down the drink station#really easy shit#well when we were doing that#the morning team ESPECIALLY on slow days would HAVE to do that shit#however. night team and busy days like friday saturday and sundays would skip out because it was too busy#which left the am team on mondays tuesday and wednesdays to get stuck cleaning#and the other bitches got out of doing it#well. i was one of the poor unlucky bastards stuck cleaning on slow days.#and it was pretty fucking often this would happen#skip forward to today. now that we don’t do that cleaning shit anymore bc that phase lasts 2 weeks at best#the new kitchen manager has it in his head that he wants us to put ice in the drains to keep the fruit flies from having babies#1. the fruit flies originate from the dish pit and the bar. not really the drink station.#2. those drains are in the SP area. NOT the to go area. i was on to gos tonight#well new manager comes over to tell me to do it. i tell him no and to have the SP’s do it. he tells me we’re all a team#listen here motherfucker. i just ran SP food when i’m not even in that position AND i’m not gonna get tipped out for it. that’s team playing#so i tell him to have the fucking SP’s do it. bc tonight is FRIDAY and they GET OUT OF SO MUCH SHIT#so i try to have my other manager cash me out bc i was pissed off bc he pestered me twice about it. and she told me to just do as i’m told#*clasps hands together* no.#and i didnt. i literally cashed myself out and left out the front door bc i wasn’t doing that shit.#i’m getting real fucking sick and tired of them picking on people like me to do shit bc they know the other person won’t#how about you MANAGE them and NOT ME. i’m not the fucking issue. i have cleaned so much shit for them. it’s criminal.#i did the drains. i cleaned the kitchen walls. the kitchen door. the wall behind drinks. the drink station. the food area. i did the lobby.#im out of tags but you get the point. managers are so fucking stupid and they don’t even realize it

A/N: This was supposed to say "Bad day" but whoops. I'm tired. anywho, this seriesis inspired by some other authors with their own 'Sunshine series' yet my main take was wanting a main character who is a housewife ish and is fed up with their shit. They're all scared of this rabbit shifter because she's put up with them for this long. There's a whole backstory and lore and such if you want me to get into it, but for now here's 'Bay day' lol
Pairing: (Shifterverse) 141 + Keegan + Konig x Rabbit Shifter! Reader

Nothing seemed to be going right.
First, it was a downpour all day, meaning I couldn’t even drive to the farmer’s market since they had announced that they were going to be closed for the weekend since the weather was so severe.
It also meant that I had to rush outside to the garden in my new, clean, white sundress, getting mud all over it as I hustled the chickens and ducks back into the coop, and ran around gathering all the tomatoes I could find before they split from the excess rain, some of them already splitting as I gathered them into my dress, staining it red and coating it with tomato seeds.
They boys were all on base today, yet weren’t coming home anytime soon both due to the weather and due to the paperwork they were getting held up with from their last couple missions.
And today was a Sunday, meant to be a relaxing, self-care, pampering day for me, yet here I am, running around like I lost my head.
I had just started to dry my hair with a kitchen towel before I remembered that there were sheets hanging outside on the line to dry - one of the perks of living with a team I guess, is that even with an industrial washer and dryer, it still didn’t cut the amount of laundry this house went through during the week.
“Oh for fuck’s sake!” I yelled as I ran back outside, skipping putting on the rainboots and just decided to go barefoot, easily hopping the small gate that kept the animals on the fenced side of the yard. My ears twitched as the rain hit them, and I flattened them against my head as I muttered curses to myself as I tore the sheets off the drying rack and ran back inside, about to toss them into the dryer before I realized my dress had covered them in mud.
I opened the washer, expecting it to be empty, yet was greeted with the sight and smell of Soap’s mildew-y clothes that have definitely been sitting in the washer for the last two days, unswitched.
“Motherfucker.”  I hissed as I dropped the sheets on the floor and grabbed a laundry pod and some scent beads, throwing them into the washer and starting his clothes on a hot, heavy washer since half of it was his workout gear.
I shook my head as I felt some of the water starting to reach my inner ears, causing them to twitch and me to wince and I quickly grabbed a spare cloth and quickly cleaned them out, hating the feeling of water in them.
I could faintly hear my phone buzzing from upstairs, and I jogged up there only to be greeting with Price’s contact, wanting a voice call.
I answered as I opened the dishwasher, realizing I forgot to start it before I went to bed last night, the pod door still closed tight.
“Hey love, looks like we might be running even later tonight, there’s a new recruit….” He started as I held the phone between my shoulder and head and tried to start the dishwasher again.
“What time should I have dinner on the table then?” I interrupted him as he was telling me about how they were going to be training not just one but several new recruits, causing them to be home around eight pm at the earliest.
“Oh, uh, probably around nine or ten then?” He questioned.
I just shut my eyes and sighed for a moment, before nodding.
“I’ll get some stew in the crockpot then, today’s not going too great so I doubt I’ll be up that late.”
“That’s alright dove, we can just pick up food on the way over.” I heard Ghost’s voice, causing me to pause for a moment.
“Am I on speaker?” I asked softly.
“Yeah, we jus’ got out of a meetin’ “ Soap replied. Sounds like everyone was there.
“I’m implementing a new rule: Set a fucking timer on your phones for your laundry. Next batch that grows mildew in the washer will go into the burnpit.”
A hushed silence answered me, before I heard a smack! and Soap yelling out.
That was definitely Gaz. He’s the only one who actually takes care of his laundry on time.
The washer beeping from downstairs gathered my attention, and I said my round of ‘be safe’ and ‘don’t kill the newbies’ before I hung up and tossed my phone on the couch, only for it to slide off and land on the wooden floor, landing screen-first.
“Oh that definitely fucking broke.” I sighed, padding over to it and picking it up, wincing as I saw shards of glass left behind on the ground.
A slew of expletives left me that would’ve left Soap blushing, and I set it face-up on the coffee table and headed downstairs, switching over laundry and starting half of the sheets in the washer before heading back upstairs, and cleaned up the mess my phone made.
It was around three at this point, so I gathered some thawed meat out of the fridge and some vegetables and went to work putting together and stew for the boys that could be left cooking for the next several hours. Halfway through chopping up the carrots, the dryer buzzed, scaring me enough that I accidentally sliced into my finger instead, causing me to yelp and immediately hold it to myself, using my dress as a pressure dressing as I rushing into the bathroom and yanked out the medkit from under the sink. Only to find it fucking empty.
I hissed at finding this, heading back into the hallway and pulling open the doors and finding the spare medkit things, disinfecting and wrapping up my fingers. (Turns out I nicked two, not just one.)
I didn’t bother putting away the items since I knew I needed to refill the medkit anyways, leaving the bloody wrappers and roll of gauze on top of the box.
I headed downstairs, switching laundry again, and set up the drying lines we had in the laundry room for the sheets, carefully setting them up, not noticing spots of blood getting on the edges from my fingers.
After switching laundry I headed back upstairs, my phone buzzing with an incoming call from Soap, which I didn’t even bother touching as I was not about to get shards of glass into my fingers.
I finished making dinner, setting it up in the crockpot on medium heat, and didn’t bother cleaning up the kitchen as I collapsed on the couch, about ready to cry my eyes out.
Instead, I fell asleep, my body exhausted, and about jumped out of my skin when I heard the door open and several voices.
About thirty minutes had passed, leaving me groggy as shit, blinking sleep out of my eyes as they shuffled inside, dropping off bags of something on the counters as Price made his way to me.
“I know we’re a little early but-holy fuck, what happened?” He started, causing everyone to immediately stop and head my way, causing me to be crowded by everyone. I could barely keep the tears out of my eyes, explaining that today was just horrible.
“C’mon, let’s get you out of that dress and into something warm, bun.” Gaz spoke softly to me and Price starting giving instructions to the rest of the boys: Konig and his crew were to take care of the animals and check the perimeter, Ghost was to help with laundry, Soap was on dish duty, Price was going to finish up with putting away the groceries which I later learned were from them going to the farmer’s market ass-early in the morning before the sky opened up to make sure I got what I needed for the week. Keegan took it upon himself to restock the medkit, and helped rebandage my hand as I sat on my bed, Gaz sitting behind me, softly brushing my tangled mess of hair.
This. This is what a pack was like.

Chapter 8
Masterlist
Tumblr media
It’s impressive the amount of love people have for the team. I was 4 blocks away when I already saw a lot of people walking with white, black and orange clothes, so I parked in the first empty space I found.
When I entered the field, the team was in the middle of the warm up. I sit in the benches a little far away but closer where the wide receiver will be practicing. By the time they make a practice with the team complet it’s like being in a game, a lot of cheering, shouts and gasps in every play.
I’m not going to lie, my eyes are fully focused on the guy with the number 9 on his orange shirt.
Before the practice ends I lift from my place, I think my plan of giving him the hoodie must wait, there are so many people.
“Aye!” I was walking out of the field where you can still hear the shouts. “Please don’t tell me you’re already leaving.”
Chase is walking with a bottle on his hand and his helmet on the top of his head.
“I’m afraid I do. I have a flight to take.” He nods and notices the paper bag on my hand.
“I hope you bought another nice shirt.” I came wearing the t-shirt with the number 1. He has that child look of involvement.
“Actually, do you mind helping me with something?” He narrowed his eyes. “Just if you don’t get in trouble, of course.”
I told him my plan expecting a full rejection but surprisingly he clapped his hands and rubbed together. “Girl, the easiest thing in the world, count me in.”
That’s how we ended in the corridor to the locker room, seeing no one came for any of the hallways..
“Ok, take your time, I will cover you.” I nod but still there is missing information for the mission. “Oh, right, Joe’s locker is at the back, last one to the right.”
“Thank you so much.” He smiles and pushes me inside.
I feel like an invader in the locker room, and seeing underwear doesn't help me at all, so I ran to the back searching the name and number of Joe on the upper part until I found it. Clothes, pads and funny items split all over his place.
I hung out the hoodie between his clothes, but when I looked inside of his locker I found a picture from the last time he was at my home, this one wasn’t any of the ones I gave him. I observe it closer to analyze carefully.
One night out of the blue he asked me to teach him the recipe of my mom brownies, now I understand why. He said it helps him to repeat every step if he records it, that was a half excuse. In the photo you can see me standing next to him, as he is pouring the mix “on” the mold, but his eyes weren't on the mixture falling from the border of it, his eyes were on me as I giggled for the mess in the kitchen.
The buzz of my phone makes me jump and bring me one more time to the earth, remembering where I am.
“Shit.” I whisper as I pick up my phone, it’s Pam.
“Please, tell me you haven’t arrived in Chicago?” She sounds breathless almost like she’s in the middle of a marathon.
“No, I’ll be there late at night.” I giggled as I heard her cursing for a man crossing on her way.
“Well, don’t be at home, long short story, you remember the editor from Spain? He has a quick stop in NYC, he wants to see us to sign the contract, the problem is he will just be there tomorrow, so we have to be there, like right now." Last time we were so close to signing a contract with them but unfortunately we couldn't, actually we believed that was one of our biggest regrets, until now.
“All, right, all right, you’re closer, go and I'll reach you am..” I look at my phone, 1 pm. “At night, to prepare everything else.”
“That’s why I'm running to the airport, I will call you when I arrive, ok?” Rush but happy, I think it’s our feeling right now.
“See you tonight Pam.” I set Joe things just as they were and rushed to the exit.
I thank Chase and I apologize for leaving so quickly but abruptly I’m in an emergency from work. He, like Joe, invited me to the kick off here in Cincinnati but I told him I would be out on that date but I wish a good start of the season.
Like the roadrunner I say goodbye to Leah and my parents, grab my bags and rush to the airport where lucky me I found a seat for the next flight.
I was waiting on line texting the good news to Lucy; I didn't have to ask because she said will take the first flight to NYC, too, when Joe's name appeared on the screen.
“Please tell me Chase is joking.” I heard in the background mumblings, loud voices but recognized the scream of Chase.
“I’M NOT LYING!” I scoff as I imagine him a little far away but enough for hearing Joe complaining.
“Where are you? I didn’t even know you were thinking about coming.” I’m getting closer to the entrance.
“Because I didn't even know, it was a spontaneous decision.” Joe scoffed. “Hey, I have to hang out, I’m taking a plane, like right now. I’ll call you back, ok?”
The young woman smiled at me as I gave her my ticket.
“The hoodie is amazing, thank you.” I smile while putting my phone in my pocket after he hangs up.
The fly was calm, I revised the contrac we´re going to give to the editor, checking even the small letters, as I promised I called Joe right away, waiting to get my bags.
We talked about his practice and he scolded me for not telling him I was there, he loved to see me even if it's just for a second.
“Do I have any chance for 4th of July?” These days we have a break before closing the tour of the book.
“Sorry Joe, my parents talked about going with Pete, so probably we'll be there.” I arrived at the hotel where Pam already made our reservations. “And don't, focus on your training all right, when all these are over, I'll go visit you.”
“Ok, ok, but promise me one thing?” The young boy helped me with my bags and closed the door. “Go to the game, any game.”
“Joe. I don't see the lines in the field.” He laughs. “I got the emotion of being in a game but it's easier for me to see the color lines on T.V  knowing what is happening.”
Still, it terrifies me to get involved in his world one more time with the risk he could shut me down in a blink of an eye.
“You'll be in my box, the best of two worlds.” I don't answer but he interprets that. “Just think about it, ok?”
“I'll do it, I have to go, goodnight Joe.” I hear Pam knocking before entering my room.
She quickly ran and stuck to my phone too. “Keep drinking water and don't skip your meals.” He gives healthy advice from time to time..
Pam faked slipping to the floor, <Die of fondness> “That should be my advice.”
“Night Y/N.” I heard him giggle before hanging out.
I see Pam, lifting from the floor with her face red, I roll my eyes as I help her to sit and start to work.
“How? How can you reject him so easily?” Pam opens her computer.
“It's not.” She put her hand over my papers. “It's not that easy, believe.” Pam hit the table full of excitement, before starting to work.
Months of endless work, the tour in the foreign was a success so by the time we started Lucy had a huge recognition, long lines of kids waiting for her, some interviews in T.V and radio along with good reviews.
Claire makes a quick stop in San Francisco, witnessing all our hard work.
“So proud of you.” Claire said to Pam and me as we stood at the back of Lucy who keeps singing books.
“Make sure to spend a good time with your family next week.” Claire smiles before seeing the owner of the bookshop asking for a couple of minutes.
My phone buzzed, a text from Joe. He resumed his classes with my father now he had days of full rest; so he's been sending me a small video of his practice “asking for a second opinion.”
“Are you going to see him?” Pam winks at me as I try to relax my face from a big smile.
“No, we’re going with Peter.” Pam nods but I see her hand moving, she has something else to say. “What?” I look at her.
She cleared her throat. “You want to see him too.” She winks at me. “It's written on your face, but ok, good things come for the ones who waited.”
“Omg, that's so cheesy!” I shiver walking away too.
By the end of the week Lucy feels defeated too, not in a bad way, just tired and missing her boyfriend, the break of July suits us perfectly.
“Just make sure to send the information properly, please.” Peter doesn't let go that easily. Last time I flew on my way back home I texted him wrong the time and flight number.
“It was just one time, God!” Mom and dad arrived the day before, not before I asked for a special order at the coffee shop.
“You say that because you weren't the one who keeps asking for a flight that doesn’t even exist” The protest of Peter was interrupted by mom taking the phone of his home from his hands.
“Archie is searching for you, go.” I heard mom with her white lie. “Hello sweetie, your order was a successful delivery.”
I asked mom and dad for their special pie of fruits for Joe, one of his favorite desserts. “Thanks mom, I'll be there tomorrow morning all right?” The screams form Archie made us giggle
“This big kid wants to say something.” I was making my bags because with a late night flight, I could forget some things.
“Hi Aunt, just a quick reminder.” I laughed because I knew his reminder. “We have to go and see the fireworks on the beach, ok? Don't make excuses!”
Like I promised, I double checked the information before sending it to Peter, with a small delay on the flight I will probably be landing in Sarasota at 1 am, so I text my family they shouldn’t be worried, I’ll call a cab to take me Peter home.
Leah called me when I texted her that I already landed. We invited her and her family to spend the 4th of July with us but her parents already had plans with her grandmother.
“Yeah, I know but my parents insist I should be going with grandma. I mean I love her but I expect to at least remind wake up past 10 pm.” I giggle because usually she is the kind of person who likes to stay up really late at night.
“You could go out.” Leah scoffs, her grandparents live in the countryside.
“Yeah, the crickets sound like a hilarious company.” Both of us laugh and picture her alone in the middle of the night with the harmony of the crickets.
“Hey, I’m hanging out. I have to pick my suitcase, looking for a cab and I’m exhausted.” The only thing on my mind is crash in the first fluffy space in Peter house.
“Ok, text me when you're in Peter house, all right? Love you.”
As I pick up my suitcase I stop in the waiting room debating if I should risk and grab a cab falling asleep as soon as I sit  or I take the offer of dad and call him to pick me.
“Am, miss.” A young kid with brown hair pulled slightly from my bag. “This is for you.” She gave me a coffee and then ran away with her mother who just gave her hand to me.
I smell the coffee, nothing weird.
“It’s funny how you find old friends in the most random places.” Joe's voice made me jump and spill a few hot drops over my hand.
“Auch.” I change the coffee to my other hand for cleaning the hot coffee drops but Joe takes it first cleaning them with his t-shirt.
“That’s not how I planned.” I chuckle. “I’m sorry, are you alright?”
“What are you doing here?” I hug him carefully. I don't want a double burn. “You should be at home, resting.”
Joe pressed me tight against him. It’s been more than 5 months since he saw me.
“Hi.” He said as we split. “Finally I caught you.”
I shake my head. “I’m talking seriously, you should be in your house.” The poor guy who is supposed to deliver the pie must spend a lot of time outside of an empty mansion.
“Why are you sending me home?” I searched on my phone for a photo of the pie and the small note I asked my mother to add on the top, so I can show it to him.
“You're supposed to be receiving this.” Joe sees the photo and looks at me.
“This is for me? So sweet, thank you.” I cover my face, the first time I try to do something “romantic” ends in a random guy enjoying a delicious pie.
“Omg, unbelievable.” I grab my suitcase and walk away laughing about the ironic situation.
Joe runs and grabs my hand and my suitcase walking to the exit. “You can compensate… that pie.”
“That isn't what it is supposed to be.” He smiles and I see his cheeks turning red.
“You send it thinking about me.” The proud tone makes it hard to keep a serious face. “So I have an idea if you go with me.”
I struggle internally if my tiredness is bigger or I can use the energy this coffee could give me.
“It’s 1:45 of the morning.” Joe nods but doesn't speak, he won't change his mind. I take a sip of my coffee as we walk to the parking lot. “I will need more than a coffee.”
“Is that a yes?” Joe sees my eyes shining brightly.
This time I was the one who didn’t answer but interlaced my fingers with his, as I smiled at him.
I give up, I reach the point of not returning.

New to the story? Start here! -> PART 1
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Part 6 (or alternative universe 1/3):
Bakugou Katsuki and the case of an unexpected team up mission.
(feat. Deku & Todoroki)
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Author’s note: I would recommend reading this part (and the next 2) even if you don’t know the full story! It will be super fun!
I’ll leave a quick “catch up” for you guys, so you can understand the beginning!
Also, English is my second language. Sorry for the mistakes.
Warnings: Swear words!
💥Master list💥
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Okay guys, I know I’m supposed to have Best Jeanist as the guest for this part, but I had this idea, and after all my mental struggles I actually ended up writing more Shenanigans, even tho this story is supposed to be on a long-term hiatus, so spare my life, please 😂
For those who only want to read this part: Reader is Bakugou’s assistant, an ex-hero from another country, currently out of business due to an injury. Her quirk is super powerful; she can have any quirk she can think of, even multiple at once.
You and Bakugou “hate each other” (not really), he is your boss, and you are not easy to boss around. Don’t tell anyone, but you guys care about each other quite a lot.
In the last part, you fainted due to overworking yourself and Bakugou ended up being your caretaker for the day. He “hated” every minute of it.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
“Hey, you fuckstick! We have guests, stop zoning out like a brainsless idiot!”
Ahh, it’s so good to be back in the office again!
Oh wait…
It’s certainly not.
Since the fainting incident… Bakugou is an even bigger ass than he was before. You didn’t think it’s possible, but here you are, half asleep, being shouted at for no reason, your coffee still untouched on your office desk.
You were absolutely aware of the fact that you probably won’t ever see Dynamight’s caring side ever again, but you really can’t believe how much damage this small mess-up has done to your already tense relationship.
“I thought I am a brainless idiot anyway.” You sigh into the distance, your face plastered to the desk’s shiny surface. Maybe this time, you’ll be the person faking being dead to get away from a traumatic situation; because shit you not, you are actually traumatized by this sudden personality change.
“We can come back later, Kacchan.” Comes a smooth voice from the door, which soothes your troubled soul right away. What a pleasant voice to be listening to so early in the morning! You might as well just go back to sleep now.
But wait…
Kacchan?
“The fucker had enough time to laze around last week.” Grumbles the blonde demon with zero sympathy in his harsh voice.
Honestly, Dynamight should be banned from talking between 10 PM and 10AM.
“I think you are being too harsh on her. Living half of her life with you is enough of a torture as it is.” Another pleasant voice joins the conversation, making the demon in front of you so angry he almost explodes your head with an accidental explosion coming out from his palms.
“I will blow you out of my fucking office window if you don’t shut the fuck up, you half and half bastard, who the fuck invited you anyway…”
“I did, Kacchan.” Speaks up the soothing voice again, but this time, it sounds more squeaky and less pleasant.
Okay, who are these people?!
As you slowly emerge from your half sleeping position, your eyes are met with 2 really handsome guys; one with a magnificent pine green hair, the other half crimson half white, split perfectly in the middle.
Oh, shit.
You are not the fangirl kinda gal, but you are internally screaming so loud you can barely hear your own voice; hence why you might be screaming like and absolute fool right now.
“Deku-san, Shouto-san, sorry for my terrible behavior! Welcome to the agency! Please take a seat!” You sit up as quickly as you can, bumping your knees into the thick office desk while standing up. The loud thump echoes in the otherwise silent office, but you pay no mind to the awkward situation and point at the office sofa.
This is fine.
This is salvageable.
You can do this.
“Now you can fucking behave…” Mumbles Mr. Dynamight, making the situation awkward again. Of course.
“Jealous much?” You snap back, ready for a fight.
“Why the fuck would I be jealous?! Who do you think you are?”
Woah, the bitch is angry.
“I’m supposed to be your right hand, but if you keep bitching, I’ll shove my resignation up your ass and blow you up with it.” You scream back, lovely guests respectfully ignored for the time being.
“My right hand?! A pimple on my back, maybe.” Shouts the blonde back with sparkling palms, slowly getting closer. Oi.
“At least it’s not a pimple on his ass. Sounds like a compliment to me.” Speaks up Shouto, clearly not reading the room properly.
“Shou, not now…” squeaks Deku with a red face, slowly moving in front of his friend protectively.
“What did you say, Steakface?”
“I said, you two get along well.” Deadpans the half and half hero, still oblivious to the dangers of his words.
“WE DO NOT!” You both scream in the poor guys face, when another person arrives at the office door.
“SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU!” The savior of the day, Kirishima appears in the office, his hardened body ready for a fight in between the four of you.
“Thank god.” Sighs the number one hero and collapses on the sofa like a sack of potatoes.
The trust these guys have in Kirishima is amazing. You were so used to seeing him every day, you kinda forgot how strong and reliable he is when it’s needed.
You have the biggest respect for the poor guy, who’s willingly by Dynamight’s side, listening to his yapping every day without being payed for it.
After a few moments of awkward silence, fresh coffee is being served to the two guests; you silently thank Kirishima for taking the burden from your shoulders today.
“So what are you guys doing here today?” You try to start a conversation while sipping your lukewarm coffee.
“Shouto and I were in the area and we thought it would be nice to see Kacchan, as he never replies to me.” Deku gives you a shy smile and damn, number one hero or not, he is absolutely adorable. You are not sure how can he break bones with that cute face.
“YOU thought it would be nice to see Katsuki. I just came along.” Deadpans Shouto with zero emotion on his face until he gets poked in the side by a scrunched faced Deku. Even his angry face is adorable. What is this guy?
And let’s not even talk about the other one… you can’t help but wonder if the handsome fella has any other expressions than the nonchalant, emotionless one he’s wearing now (and in every single interview you were forced to watch with your bestie); does he keep his facade on in the bed as well? You kinda want to investigate that.
Wow, you might need to get laid just as much as your angry boss does.
“Shouto, I told you not to say everything out loud.” Reprimands the green haired hero, reminding you of a kindergarten teacher telling of a child for eating sand.
You can’t help the giggle bubbling up in your throat as you take in the sight in front of you; the two best friends sitting on the sofa, clearly comfortable with each other, the angry sulking blonde next to them, who’s trying to hide his happiness with aggressive expressions and filth coming out of his mouth, the silent presence of Kirishima leaning on the back of the sofa, beaming at the two bickering heroes with pure adoration.
“Stop smiling like a pervert.” Mumbles Mr. Dynamight with a slight blush on his face, staring into the distance to avoid any kind of eye contact.
“How could I NOT smile, you guys are so cute together.”
“Cu…cute?!” Stutters the blonde, face red as a tomato. “What the actual fuck is cute about this?! Did your parents drop you as a child, or what? Also, this meeting is over, everyone fuck off!” Explodes Mr. Katsuki, and starts throwing everyone out of the office one by one; or at least he tries until Deku steps in front of him.
“Wait… I need to talk to you about something.” Says the greenette with a serious expression.
“I knew you fucking want something…” Bakugou rolls his eyes and puts the other hero down on the sofa. “Spill it, you goddamned nerd.” He grumbles while sitting down, ready to listen to Deku’s “annoying” rambling.
“So there is this villain group we are after…”
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
“Why am I here Mr. Dynamight?!”
That’s the question of the century, to be honest.
As you look around in the area in front of you, you can see nothing but pure destruction; abandoned homes burst in flames, the sky grey and foggy from all the smoke, the pavement broken into chunks of concrete, which makes your steps wobbly and uneven.
This is a war zone. And you are standing right in the middle of it.
“Don’t look so frightened, aren’t you supposed to be a hero?” Answers the blonde with the most nasty tone possible, looking at you like you’re a piece of shit he just stepped on by accident. Well, if he can’t give you a disappointed look as his face is hiding behind a protective mask, he had to make sure his words hurt you just as well as his usual angry face does.
“Kacchan…” sighs Deku with a massive bandage on his right hand, giving you a tiny smile for reassurance. “The fight is over now, most of the villains are already behind bars. This place is supposed to be safe for heroes.“ he explains. “We lost one of the bad guys tho, so we need to investigate the area for clues.”
This still doesn’t explain why are you, a basic-ass secretary, here. You might have been a hero a few months ago, but you are far away from being “battle ready”; you can barely manage the small gigs with the amount of mana you have, as your body is still using up all your energy to heal itself.
“Your shitty quirk is perfect for this investigation. If by any chance there is a sudden fight, you can hide behind my fucking skirt and cry like a looser.” Bakugou snaps at you, while Todoroki rolls his eyes in disapproval.
Wow, that’s a new facial expression! What a day to be alive.
“Why are we friends with him again?” Deadpans the half and half hero, making the blonde angry and furious. As the two start their usual bickering, you sigh into the void and make your way into the ex-battlefield. You take a deep breath and bring out a few different quirks all at once; levitation, x-ray vision and a new one you just came up with; a sensor that tells you the last movements in the area you are looking at.
The burnt down homes in front of you are indeed abandoned but there is one still in tact, away from the burnt area, built extremely close to the forest; compared to the other parts of the battlefield, the house feels lived in, heat-wise.
“Y/N-san, wait for us!” You hear a voice behind your back, but you are too focused on your current task; finding clues about the whereabouts of the last villain stranding.
There are old footprints coming out through the back door, going into the forest; the angle of the footprints indicate…
“Katsuki, behind you!” You scream from the top of your lungs, but it’s too late; the villain jumps out from behind the tree, right next your boss.
“So this is how I fucking die…” You say, while you activate another quirk; teleportation.
In only a millisecond you end up behind the blonde; the villain’s quirk hitting you instead of Bakugou. The world suddenly shifts and you are falling into the eternal nothingness.
Why did you save the person who treats you like shit every single day?
Because your body moved on it’s own.
You are not sorry for doing it either; You can’t help but think about the way he cared for you when you were sick and about how he always brings you coffee, even when he’s being a bitch about it afterwards.
The small acts of kindness say more than the loud words; Bakugou Katsuki might be the biggest asshole in the whole word, but he doesn’t deserve to die; not like this, not right now.
“You fucking idiot!” Screams a voice you know so well, frustrated and confused. Even though you are falling into nothing, you can kinda see what’s happening in the real world; you can see Bakugou kneeling on the floor, looking at the floor where you are supposed to be, you can see Todoroki freezing the villain in one place, handcuffing him with quirk canceling handcuffs, you can see Deku, trying to calm down the crying hero… what?
Is Bakugou crying?! He must be really angry, then.
Suddenly, your back hits the ground; the sun is shining aggressively into your face, making you flinch; you can also hear some happy chatter not too far away from you.
The chatter suddenly stops and there are quick footsteps coming your way; you try to make yourself invisible out of habit, but your quirk decides to act up; you can’t feel the usual warmth of your power anymore.
“I really don’t want to support your stupid conspiracy theory, but… this woman just fell from the sky.” Mumbles a blonde nerdy guy, pushing his glasses up to see you better. His face is soft, but confused, his brows scrunched in an adorable way and it might be because of the pain, but he looks kinda familiar.
Is this… a dream?
“This is not the time for this, Kacchan. She’s hurt!” Reprimands the green haired nerd in the loudest PRIDE t-shirt you’ve ever seen. Is that eyeliner under his eyes? Cute.
Wait…
This isn’t a dream. You would not be able to come up with this shit, even if you tried.
A sudden realization dawns upon you as you stare into those warm, green eyes, dumbfounded.
“Deku?” You mumble incredulously, eyes wide, mouth open. You gawk at the blonde nerd on the other side of you; you are met with the crimson eyes you know so well.
“Bakugou Katsuki?”
This is ridiculous. This can’t be real.
This guy can’t be…
“Do you know us? Are we friends? Please, tell me you are Kacchan’s wife from the future!”
“You rewatched Back To The Future without me, you shitty nerd!” Complains the blonde, clearly offended by his traitor of a friend. “Also, are you my wife from the future? I hope you are.” The blonde sighs.
“Kacchan…” Deku pats his friend’s back apologetically, and Bakugou Katsuki doesn’t pull away.
What.
The.
Actual.
Fuck.

Concluding Our Last Week
Monday - Tuesday:
This Monday and Tuesday, we worked further on PCs that weren't finished last week and made sure the ones our colleague was working on were also finished. He couldn't come to work because he had an accident on the island I made another post about. He stepped on an urchin, the people in Zadar called it a "sea hedgehog," which I found pretty funny.
Tumblr media
I also started packing my stuff little by little, organizing a bit more, and grouping everything together for when we would actually leave.
Wednesday - Thursday:
On Wednesday, I got an unexpected assignment that I actually ended up really enjoying. I was asked to figure out how to broadcast a flyer or video to different locations all over the city. At first, I was struggling a lot because I was trying really obvious solutions that just weren't logical, and nothing seemed to work.
Towards the end of the workday, my mentor came over to check on me. He saw that I was having a hard time, explained things again, and then I found the answer right away, it was Digital Signage i was looking for. With that new understanding, I started gathering the necessary information and putting it all into a Word file to make it clear and easy to understand.
Tumblr media
Thurday was also a big day because we received our diplomas. We said goodbye to our colleagues and our mentor, who had to leave for a trip the next day.
Friday - Saturday:
Friday was a day without work, so I took the opportunity to sleep in. In the afternoon, I began packing all my stuff and cleaning the house, ensuring I wouldn't have any worries the next day or in the evening. At 5 PM, we dined at a burger cafe we've visited a couple of times; the food was excellent.
We were expected to meet the whole group at the parking lot at 6:30 PM to attend a professional basketball match between Zadar and Split. We were obviously hoping that Zadar would win, but the match was pretty one-sided, with Split leading for almost the entire game by only a few points. Nonetheless, it was my first time attending a basketball match, so I found it pretty fun.
Tumblr media
The ambiance was outstanding, with everyone cheering for their team as if their lives depended on it. After the match, we returned to our apartment and went to sleep. The next day, we had to wake up at 9 AM so the teachers could check out our apartments. After that, we ate at a cafe and went to catch our 2 PM flight. I was back home at around 5 PM.
Tumblr media
This concludes my overall stay in Zadar, Croatia i hope you all enjoyed reading my blogs and found them interesting and enjoyable. I had this once of a lifetime oppurtunity and absolutely enjoyed it. This is something i probably never experience again. Do viđenja(goodbye) , Berre

First we take Monaco...
It is May 1, 2024, playoff time in İstanbul, an ancient city seducing you with the whispers of its stories, told and untold… Fenerbahçe Beko returns home after splitting the two away games in AS Monaco Basket for Game 3.
Fenerbahçe Beko: The basketball team of one of the oldest and most popular sports clubs in the country, with a storied history in the League. A permanent fixture in the Final Four between 2015–2020, the 2017 Euroleague Champions. Looking to go back to its glory days under the command of Šarūnas Jasikevičius, who took the helm mid season…
AS Monaco Basket: A relatively newcomer to the league, built around one of the best players on the court, holder of the league’s all time leading scorer title. With a single Final Four appearance in 2023, eager to show they belong…
The drive. Left home at 7 pm for the 8:45 pm game at Ülker Arena. A rare 20 min drive, gave us more than an hour to kill before game time. Because living in this city is about traffic management, first and foremost.
The t-shirt. In our seats by 7:30 pm. Yellow road to final four t-shirts to greet us. The colour is kicking, and the material is soft and thin. Way better quality than the Toronto Raptors t-shirts from way back when. Unwearable with their high collars, and shitty material, still gathering dust somewhere in the closet. There is a curious drawing of the team on the front. Saras is there, and so is Motley, I think, Scottie, almost. It is downhill from there. Why is Dorsey an angel? But most importantly, Who is the dude with golden funky glasses? Questions, questions.
Pre-game. The rosters are up. Motley still out. John Brown, who got injured last game, is also on the sidelines. I like Brown, he was huge in the regular season loss to Monaco. Sertaç who also left game 2 early due to an injury is on the roster (but does not start). The arena audio sound is way too loud. TOO LOUD. And the music is meh. So we rock the headphones and crack the volume.
The refs. They boo the refs at the start of the game. Every game. They know something I don’t? As this unfolds, the refs are not convincing — or convinced — at all, which leads the fans to question every call they don’t like. Which is made worse by the refs questioning every other call they themselves make. I am still not over that bizarre time travel sequence in game 2, where Monaco was awarded the ball after an unsportmanlike foul call for Motejunas from the future, they should really ban time travel on the basketball court. This whole watching, and rewatching, and re-rewatching is butchering the game, and not sustainable or manageable, and inevitably we will have to give the whistle back to the referees and back down.
The game. I did not believe we would win game 1 until we won it. I believed we would win Game 2 until we lost it. This game felt like a W from the start. Yes there were flashbacks in the 4th, but this is home, and this team only lost two home games this season. Crvena Zvezda and Efes. I remember the Crvena Zvezda game, where as we were cheering against Teosodic and his men, I could not help but think that it just was not working, perhaps working against us. Last night it felt just the opposite. The arena was rocking (I read the comments on social media today dissing the Fenerbahçe fans in the arena for whatever, and from our vantage point right at the centre I have to say that is neither fair nor accurate. The fans were engaged throughout, and definitely made a difference. It was definitely a play-off atmosphere. This is an arena where most watches the game sitting down, with only certain sections — the usual suspects up and about all the time… And football jerseys vastly outnumber the basketball ones — I counted only 5 yesterday — Does not change the fact that the fans rocked last night.) The team played well and hard. Calathes, Guduric and Biberoviç were all huge, but I felt, all said and done, Papagiannis made a big difference last night at both sides of the floor. Diallo was the Monaco player that stood out the most, was all over the court and rather annoying. Monaco looked rather tired at times. The inbound alley-oop pass from Strazel to Blossomgame was a thing of beauty (yet I was more dazzled by the defense — or lack thereof watching the highlights). After a defensive breakdown I look to Saras to figure out what went down, as he is seen shouting at the top of his lungs to whomever messed up…. The last two minutes of the game went at a dizzying pace, one crazy sequence after another, I had to sit down for a bit to steady myself at some point. I am a bit hazy about what went down, but in the blink of the eye, Hayes-Davis was running the clock for the game to end, and we could all breathe again.
The jersey. I am a basketball fan, who grew up watching Efes, celebrating the Koraç Cup win on the street with a handful of people, who happened to move to a Fenerbahçe neighbourhood in İstanbul upon returning home. So this is my neighbourhood team now … This season has been mostly about getting to know the team. All season, game after game, there has been one question playing around in my mind. If I were to buy a jersey whose name would I put on it. My brother has a Saras jersey — they could not fit Jasikevičius on it-, which I thought was a brilliant idea, and my son who can still count his age using his two hands wants a Wilbekin- which only makes sense… But whose name would I put on my jersey… I really like this team, and would wear any number of the players (Biberoviç if I was younger, Hayes-Davis if he had not dropped 50, Papagiannis if I was trying to make a point, Pierre if he was able to stay on the court longer, Motley if I was taller…) but here we are. And there is one name I came to associate with this team more than any other — and that is Nick Calathes. I am not buying a jersey, just yet.
Post game. It took us around an hour to get the car out of the arena, a price we were willing to pay for waiting to cheer for the team after the W. Home in 15.
The day after. We re-watched the second half on Euroleague TV. It’s been a while since I rewatched a game that I have attended, was surprised to see how different the two experiences could be, especially for an intense playoff game. Your logic and your emotions stack up differently in each case, tipping you off slightly, landing you in surprisingly different points, both of which might be equidistant from the truth of things. The Euroleague commentary was rather enlightening, making me realise that we beat a terrific, great, Herculean Monaco team with a single terrific play (by Papagiannis) and by, well being open.. Quite an accomplishment, I think. Terrific.

Todays Raft: 04:16 PM - 01/04/2024
The 21st Ride down the Rapids
Season 7 Not Ridden by Link (Read More) Raft Ride (Special Edition) - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Raft by Sarvéproductions
youtube
[[ 02/04/2024 - Hey everyone!! Exactly ONE Raft Ride failed to send yesterday for some reason - sorry about that, I genuinely do not know why. This one goes between Raft Riding with Haltmann's dead corpse and John Notwoodman on the raft (What will they do) ]]
I'm amazed that the team had enough restraint to keep themselves from making and posting this rip until the actual 21st night of September - but hey, they pulled it off!! September is always great, I love it in just about any context, and it somehow works just excellently in this format (is there a slight reverb applied here not present in other Raft Rides or am I imagining it?). I enjoy that this is pretty much the entire tune and not just the chorus or the song's intro, and that the backing to the track is sort of split into two - one acting as a mimic to the original September beat, and the other sticking to the Raft Ride bit. Really great balance, good ass stuff

03/08/23 Wednesday 9:49 p.m.
Two beers in. I made this simple pasta mini shells, premade taco meat I made yesterday, a jar of pasta sauce, Parm cheese in the shaker plastic can (romano, maybe), and mozzarella cheese. It's nice.
the beer is helping me forget. Baby is still up. An hour of OT tomorrow. I'd love to do more but I'm not wanting to wake up from 7-9 a.m. from extra hours and five bonus points per hour. If I am awake ... maybe?
Yeah, fuck that.
This last week was so hard. I took Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday off from being sick.
Of fucking course zod gave me shit. All I do is work. Haven't had a real vacation since I gave birth.,.. if you call that abfucking vacation? I had 713 points paid and now I am around 113 give or take. It's all paid. Damn, this pasta is good. I took a bite, lol
On Microsoft teams, my boss messaged me and he said I bonused for February fiscal month. 506.93 I think? I didn't I'd bonus at all due to quality.
Idk, guys... I still believe in God, I'm just scared for the future. Maybe it's supposed to be this way. I support a family of five between 38-39 a year. Inflation fucking sucks. Politics suck.
Rent went up so starting April it's 1300 plus the rest of our expenses, if I keep doing what I do for work we can make it on one salary for now.
I was nominated for an acclaim award for being big hearted at work, and if I win (doubt it) I will get a gift card (50/100.00) and either crumbl cookies. I've never had them.
I've been wanting to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch. We get the kids Saturday. If I pack everything Friday night and on Saturday work from 7:00-9:00 am, and we leave around 10:00-10:30 it isn't so bad. Round trip is 6 hours, but with the baby it feels longer.
We get the kids for a week and I know my son will fucking test me. He always foes. He doesn't fucking listen at FUCKING ALL! He is on his fucking tablet and on the spectrum. It's manageable but Jesus fuck yes this is me venting. It's difficult. Their mom is dofficult. Doesn't allow them to go and play or have sleepovers. She's a fucking trainwreck. she's rather chase dick than be a mom, honestly
If me and Zod ever split up I wouldn't chase dick I'm too old, and with a kid dating is exhausting. No thanks. I'm good.
It was a slow work day. I didn't do too bad. I'm tired. 10:06 pm and maybe in the next hour I can pass out. I hope Astrid goes to bed before modnight. Last night I fell asleep between midnight and 1:00. Slept through my alarm, oh well.
Maybe I'm buzzed but damn this pasta I made sure is yummy, lol. 🍝
I may have another beer but that's pushing it. Tomorrow sometime I need to wash the sheets for the other bed, and make a list before we leave Saturday. Maybe another trip to the grocery store?
My ex sent my birth certificate through the mail and I pray to fucking god it isn't lost. It has thos weird tracking number starting with 70, when normally USPS tracking starts with 98 ... The reason I know is I work with ups, USPS, FedEx, and DHL when customers order.
I'm very oaranoid. I need it to go to the DMV, otherwise if it's lost I get to spend a cool 54.00 fucking dollars requesting a new one.
The other bedroom is closed with all her toys. If she gets out of bed she has nothing to play with. She's watching Peppa Pig. It's cute. It isn't as annoying as that fuck Calliou. God, I need adult froends. I'm drowning in toddler bullshit, 😂
Welcome to my Ted Talk

[ad_1] Enjoy the rich cultural tapestry of this vibrant London community filled with quirky museums, a bustling market, and plenty in between with our guide to the best things to do in Notting Hill. LAST UPDATE: 16 Jan 2024 Anywhere We Roam is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support - Paul & Mark. Notting Hill has a vibrant and colourful past stretching back to the 1800s when it was first developed into a fashionable area for London’s upper classes. By the early 1900’s Notting Hill fell from grace and the rich moved to the more expensive Belgravia and Mayfair.   Following large-scale immigration to the UK in the 1950s, and a housing shortage, the grand properties in Notting Hill were converted into multi-occupancy dwellings and the area became significantly impoverished due in no small part to lawless landlords. Today, as gentrification has taken hold, Notting Hill is a vibrant neighbourhood with the Beckhams up one end and a rich cultural enclave at the other. As locals, we know the area well. Here’s our guide to our favourite things to do in Notting Hill. 1. SEE THE COLOURFUL HOUSES Following the gentrification of Notting Hill in the late 20th century, the homes that were previously multi-occupancy slums have steadily been transformed into colourful residences.   Lined up in charming rainbow-colored rows, the pastel-hued facades of Notting Hill are today one of the area’s star attractions. The most popular street is Lancaster Road, probably due to its proximity to Portobello Road. However, there is beautiful architecture all over Notting Hill. Elgin Crescent, Rosemead Road, and Lansdowne Road form an excellent circuit of colourful houses that you’ll often have completely to yourself. LANCASTER ROAD LANSDOWNE ROAD ELGIN CRESCENT 2. PORTOBELLO MARKET Portobello Road is the heart of Notting Hill and Portobello Market runs along its length. It’s one of the most popular things to do in Notting Hill and the buzz of the crowd creates a vibrant energy. The market is split into 4 sections, each with its own best day to visit. Vintage & Bric-a-brac Market: Friday, Saturday & Sunday Fashion Market: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday Fruit & Veg Market: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday Antiques market: Friday, Saturday In our opinion, the most interesting are the Vintage and Antiques Markets, making Friday and Saturday excellent times to visit. However, they are also the busiest days. Portobello Market Opening Hours: In summer the stalls are usually open from 8.30 am to 6 pm and in winter from 9.30 am to 5 pm. Thursday is half day operating from 9 am to 1 pm.  VINTAGE MARKET ALICES VINTAGE MARKET ANTIQUE’S MARKET 3. GRAFFIK GALLERY The Graffik Gallery on Portobello Road is an interesting space dedicated to street and urban art. They offer private graffiti masterclasses where you can learn the basic skills of spray paint with knowledgeable and friendly teachers. It’s a great activity for kids and they also take groups, making it a fun team-building exercise. You can purchase art from the store or visit one of the exhibitions they have throughout the year. All the details are on the Graffik Gallery website. GRAFFIK GALLERY, NOTTING HILL 4. ELECTRIC CINEMA The Electric Cinema is a stylish way to see a recent blockbuster or old-school classic movie by the people behind Soho House. It commenced operating in 1910 as one of the first motion picture house in Britain to be supplied with electricity. Despite a few intermittent shutdowns, it has been in almost continual use as a picture theatre since. The Edwardian Baroque interiors are decorated with sumptuous red velvet seats. You can select an armchair with a footstool, a front-row bed seat, or a back-row sofa. Food and beverages are provided by the onsite restaurant.   ELECTRIC CINEMA, NOTTING HILL 5. BRUNCH
Notting Hill is one of the best destinations in London for brunch. After strolling the market, there’s nothing better than sitting down to a quality breakfast and well-constructed coffee. Some of our brunch highlights in the Notting Hill area include the Electric Diner for their proper Ful English, Beam for their Middle Eastern-inspired plates, and Farm Girl for their healthy Aussie-inspired treats. Our full list is available on our guide: best brunch places in Notting Hill. 6. WESTBOURNE GROVE BOUTIQUES Notting Hill is a diverse area. Contrast the flea market feel of Portobello Road Market with the high-end boutiques on Westbourne Grove. The section of Westbourne Grove between Colville Road and Chepstow Road is packed with great reasons to visit. At the lower end towards Colville Road you’ll find designer shops including Soho Home Studio, Max Mara, Olebar Brown, Kooples, Toast, and Aesop. There are also some great dining options including Taquería, Wild Notting Hill, and Sumi. WESTBOURNE GROVE 7. BOOKSHOPS BOOKS FOR COOKS Books for Cooks is one of the most interesting things to do in Notting Hill. Shelves are crammed with every tasty title you could imagine, and well-worn sofas are wedged into corners for the benefit of cookbook junkies. The highlight though is the test kitchen sandwiched into the back of the store. Cooks try out unusual experiments from the books with a menu that changes daily based on what they can get their hands on from Portobello Market.   NOTTING HILL BOOKSHOP We’re sorry to say but the bookstore located at 13 Blenheim Crescent has been designed as a recreation of William Thackery’s bookshop from the Notting Hill movie, however, it’s not the one that was used in the film. If you can push past the crowds lining up for a photo, it’s still a lovely bookshop to visit. LUYTENS & RUBENSTEIN Luytens and Rubenstine is a small independent bookstore stocking selected titles across a broad range of genres. Operated by two literary agents, the focus is on excellent writing. Each book in the store has been hand-picked by someone who loves it. LUYTENS & RUBENSTEIN NOTTING HILL BOOKSHOP BOOKS FOR COOKS 8. MUSEUM OF BRANDS The Museum of Brands is a nostalgic journey through 200 years of consumer culture. Packed with memorabilia from Victorian times through to the modern day, the museum is stuffed with cultural markers. Find vintage prints, household products, old magazines, toys, and everything in between. The building was once the world’s largest centre for people living with HIV. Princess Dianna regularly visited patients in the memorial garden which is now part of the cafe. MUSEUM OF BRANDS 9. NOTTING HILL FILM LOCATIONS It’s hard to know whether the area has driven the recurring interest in the movie or visa versa. Either way, it’s left its mark on Notting Hill, not to mention it’s house prices. Here are some spots from the movie to collect on your visit. The Blue Door – The blue door to William’s flat is at 280 Westbourne Park Road. It’s easy to spot for the throng of people out front. Notting Hill Bookshop – As mentioned above, the bookstore located at 13 Blenheim Crescent is not the one that was used in the film. It is a faithful recreation so there’s no harm in grabbing a selfie out front. 142 Portobello Road – This is the location of the actual shop used for filming the bookstore scenes. During filming it was an antique shop, it’s now a souvenir store with the wrong sign. (In the film, it was called “The Travel Book Co” not “The Travel Book Store” which is what you see today. Coronet Theatre – This arts venue used to be a cinema and it was used when William and Spike were watching a film. Rosemead Gardens – This is the location of the private gardens where William and Anna climbed over the fence. ROSEMEAD GARDENS 280 WESTBOURNE PARK RD 142 PORTOBELLO ROAD 10. ACKLAM VILLAGE MARKET Opposite the Vintage Market, which you can visit on our Notting Hill walk,
you’ll find Acklam Village Market, an excellent destination for live music and street food. The International Street Food Market on Acklam Road sells eclectic mix of street food from around the world. You’ll find everything from noodles to falafel, plus Thai, Chinese, and of course, a decent curry. The street food market is open Friday to Sunday. The Acklam Village Market Bar (Saturday’s) hidden inside an old sports hall, has some of the best live music in west London. They champion locally sourced spirits and craft beer with a seasonal cocktail menu. Enjoy a beer in a cool venue while catching a live act. Check what’s on via the Acklam Village website. ACKLAM VILLAGE 11. NOTTING HILL’S SECRET BANKSY Hidden beside the stalls of the Acklam Village food market is the Banksy mural “The Painter.” Thought to be Spanish painter Velazquez, a bow-tied artist holding an easel and brush hand paints the words BANKSY in red lettering. It’s one of the oldest Banksys in London, having first appeared in 2008. It was covered by building works for several years but reappeared in 2020. You’ll find it on the wall of the Grand Hotel on the corner of Portobello Road and Acklam Road, however, you can only see it when the Acklam Village Market is not operating. BANKSY NOTTING HILL 12. ROUGH TRADE Rough Trade West is the oldest and smallest of the Rough Trade stores. They sell a collector’s array of vinyl, but you can also pick up books, merchandise, and stereo equipment. It’s well worth popping in for a poke around but they also feature regular in-store performances from a talented bunch of artists. They have a focus on unplugged and acoustic sets, as well as talks with musicians. See what’s on at roughtrade.com. ROUGH TRADE 13. ST LUKE MEWS A mews is a small traffic-free street found behind extravagant 18th and 19th-century mansion houses. They were used to stable horses of the wealthy and to provide accommodation for servants. They are a common feature of Notting Hill and today they have been converted into charming houses. St Luke Mews is one of the prettiest mews streets to visit in Notting Hill and it was the one featured in Love Actually. Colville Mews is often mentioned as a good mews to visit. However, this is probably because of the famous Union Jack covering one of the buildings which has now been removed. It’s very much a residential street and probably a good idea for visitors to give them their privacy back. ST LUKE’S MEWS 14. FARMERS’ MARKET As locals, the Notting Hill Farmers’ Market is one of our favourite things to do. Even if you’re visiting the area, it’s worth popping in for a look. They stock organic produce from local farmers including the freshest fruit and veg, amazing wild mushrooms, the best goat’s cheese you’ll find anywhere as well as fresh pasta, meat, fish and much more.   Apart from the quality produce the area is a great part of Notting Hill to visit. Nearby you’ll find Kuro, one of our favourite cafes in Notting Hill, as well as Greek restaurants Suzi Tros and Mazi. The Farmer’s Market is in the Fox Primary School on Edge Street W8 7PP. 15. NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL The Notting Hill Carnival is a celebration of the Caribbean Community, taking place on the August bank holiday weekend every year. The carnival was forged out of the Notting Hill race riots in the 1950’s and by 1976 it had a distinctly Caribbean flavour. Today, you can expect to be celebrating with around 2 million people making it the largest street festival in Europe. Stay up to date on the official Notting Hill Carnival website. HARTFORD WOLF PACK WEDNESDAY NEWS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - The Hartford Wolf Pack released their full 2023-24 72-game schedule on Wednesday, following the previous release of the home openers for all 32 teams. The season opens for the Wolf Pack on the road against the Providence Bruins on Friday, October 13th, before they travel the following night over to Springfield to take on the Thunderbirds at the Mass Mutual Center. The Wolf Pack's home opener is the following Friday night, October 20th, against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, with the puck drop coming at 7:00 PM. It is the first of six meetings between the two teams in the '23-'24 season. The first home weekend will end with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms making their first visit to Hart City on Saturday night. Among the schedule's other highlights will be the return of the early morning ‘School Day Game’ in Hartford when the Wolf Pack hosts rival Springfield on Wednesday, November 15th, at 11:00 AM. There will be a Thanksgiving Eve contest coming to Hartford this season. The Wolf Pack will play the P-Bruins at the XL Center on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 7:00 PM in the season's second meeting with the Bruins. Returning after a year off their schedule will be the Montreal Canadien's AHL franchise, the Laval Rocket, who the Pack will meet four times. The first games with the Rocket are on December 8th and 9th at Place Bell. The two will battle again on Friday, February 16th, and March 1st at the XL Center. The Belleville Senators are on the menu twice this season. They will face the Baby Blueshirts once in November in Hartford and then travel to the CAA Canadian Tire Centre in Belleville in late March for an early Sunday afternoon game following a late Saturday afternoon game in Toronto. Rockford, Grand Rapids, and Milwaukee were rumored to be on the schedule, but they were not. However, the schedule includes the Cleveland Monsters for the second time in team history. The Monsters just unveiled a brand-new logo and will skate into Hartford on Wednesday, December 6th. The last time Cleveland appeared in Hartford was back on February 13th, 2009. The Wolf Pack will return the favor with a trip to Cleveland to play at Rocket Mortgage Arena for two games on Friday, January 26th, and Saturday, January 27th. The Pack has not played in Cleveland since November 16th, 2008. The franchise's biggest rivals, the Bridgeport Islanders, will be the final game before the holiday break. That game will be on Friday, December 22nd, at 7:00 PM. Post-Christmas weekend, the Wolf Pack will play a pair of games this season, first going to Springfield and then hosting Bridgeport. They will take on the Islanders for a Saturday night tilt on New Year’s weekend as the two sides close out the calendar year of 2023 on December 30th at the XL Center at 7:00 PM. On St. Patrick's Day Eve, Hartford will host the Utica Comets at 6:00 PM, and then on St. Patrick’s Day itself; they will travel to play the defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears at 5:00 PM. To their benefit, the Pack only have three three-games-in-three-nights to contend with this upcoming season. One of those three comes at an inopportune time as The Pack will close out the 2023-24 season in reverse order of the season, beginning with one of them against all Atlantic Division teams. The club will host the Penguins in the regular-season home finale on Friday, April 19th. The final weekend then concludes with visits to Springfield on Saturday, April 20th, and ends in Providence on Sunday, April 21st, at 3:05 PM. SIGNINGS The team announced two depth signings, one up front and one on the blue line. Both players come from one of last season's opponents, the Grand Rapids Griffins. Both players split their season between Grand Rapids and the Toledo Walleye (ECHL). On defense, Seth Barton, 23, was inked to a one-year deal. He played 36 games with the Griffins and 10 with the Walleye contributing 13 points in the regular season, but equaled that 13 in 13 playoff games with the Griffins. He's played two seasons with Grand Rapids and four years collegiately at UMASS-Lowell (HE). Drew Worrad, 26, is a centerman who skated in 47 games with Grand Rapids and 25 in Toledo (ECHL). Worrad registered 25 points, of which just four came while playing with the Griffins in his first and only minor pro season. He played four seasons collegiately for the Western Michigan University Broncos (NCHC). Worrad is 6’2" and weighs 185 pounds. Both players will likely start the season with the new Double AA affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Cyclones announced the signing of ex-Pack Justin Vaive for next season. Ex-Pack Andrew Yogan, who started out last year with HK Poprad (Slovakia-SLEL), then left for EC Graz (Austria-IceHL), has signed for next season with Eisbären Regensburg (Germany DEL-2) for 2023-24. He joins another ex-Pack in goalie Tom McCollum. Ex-Sound Tiger Kevin Czuczman departs Ilves Tampere (Finland-FEL) for HC Litvinov (Czechia (Czech Republic)-CEL for the 2023-24 season. Disclaimer although back when I worked as a StockTaker it was for the asset solutions department of OCS, OCS split into the company Retail Asset Solutions. I've not worked directly with Retail Asset Solutions but I know sources from inside the company that still do. and they confirm that this data is still correct and may help others applying for this role in future ( click here for Further Information on the OCS to RAS Split;) Acurate on the date of publication I've just received my training course for Merchandising At OCS Retail Solutions I’ve been applying for a lot of jobs lately, and I was excited to find out OCS had contacted me about an opportunity with their company. I used to work at OCS As A Stock taker it was when I just turned 18 and it was one of my first jobs. Now I’m looking to take another g (2017), With the company. But this time with a unique role as a Merchandiser. They have offered me my training, which I’m doing now. And later I will get offered work.... its only a zero contract hour job but it will help my current Financial difficulties and who knows? Maybe I’ll find a lifetime career with them this time :) I’m still keeping my eyes out for Employment opportunities that are full time. 3 Months Working Part Time For OCS Working for OCS again has been a wonderful way to get myself back on my feet. And out of debt! I’ve finally had the time and resources needed to expand on video ideas. And create 9 new android apps (previews coming soon), release a new theme with more in store, as well as learning how to drive within 2-3 months. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when your mind is freed up from financial worries! Final Verdict Being A Stocktaker For OCS Retail Asset Solutions / Retail Asset Solutions Retail Asset Solutions has a huge range of clients from Tescos, And B&Q being there biggest clients and the main ones I wish to talk about. So what is it like to work for Retail Asset Solutions? Well the average month of a stock taker in the South East Region of RAS are looking to get between 15 to 20 shifts per month in peak seasons and would be lucky to get 5 shifts around Christmas. in most cases you will be collected by a local RAS Driver and driven to whatever store your counting. now you would think that they would match people in the south-east region but no, they don't its a common case to find yourself on a 5-hour drive to Southend or Dorset. which adds 10 hours of unpaid travelling for the counters.  your bus team 75% of the time are great company everyone suffers and knows the drill... we do our best to joke around and motivate each other. So whats a shift like with Retail Asset Solutions? It depends. management is where it's a letdown and the inconsistency of shifts. for example one day I could start a shift at 4 am finish at 12 pm and be on another shift that same day for 8 pm. and this was a common occurrence. breaks were under the discretion of the team leader and shifts could go over 12 hours on a frequent base. Whats Progression Like  For Retail Asset Solutions? Very small chance of progression. I had seen counters of over 15 years experience never being given an opportunity as they were too good of a counter... also if you don't drive or can't attend shifts on your own forget about it... is Ocs A Job Or a career (Find out the difference Click Jobs Vs Career) if you want to make a career out of OCS don't be a good counter get a drivers licence and friendly with the managers but for most people who get stuck as a stocktaker sadly stay there. Wan't to find out more about my expireance at OCS? - i've just received my training course for Merchandising At OCS Retail Solutions and 3 Months Working Part Time For OCS

08.01-20.01
i drafted this ages ago but was too lazy to post so just throwing the draft into the world
Work
Pretty busy two weeks work-wise.
The team continues to struggle a bit with the new standup but after the retro most have started reviewing the board more frequently and ensuring things are updated/moved etc. There’s been quite a lot of movement in the ‘thank you’ doc I’ve set up so I think eventually we can get away from the need to go through every card or every person and focus on things that are the most significant or could use help. I think there’s also more work for me to do on cards getting created and split out and facilitating conversations around them on a daily basis, I’ll think more about that next week.
I’m also collecting some more info on work completed, mostly categories for now (we’re meant to be doing 20% of maintenance but in reality it seems to be around 60-70%...) but working up to cycle and lead time. I’ve been avoiding it because I have a reckon that
a) it won’t show very healthy things, and
b) it will highlight things we don’t have a way of optimising/will to push them anyway,
…but let’s try. 🤷‍♀️ With any luck it may help escalate the issues around structure and remit we’ve been talking about to Leads and SMT anyway.
On the bright side, the new healthcheck based on a values exercise seems to be working in that the responses are much less generic and it’s easy to pull out actions. I may write up the process of doing this as a separate blogpost here or on LinkedIn.
We kicked off a deep dive into one of the content formats on GOV.UK. So far the designers have been looking at how it was used before and relationship with things like the campaigns platform and other exemptions. Personally, the need for it seems very unclear and I hope connecting with a team that just completed their discovery on content formats overall will help us think more of just retiring it or merging with a different type and making it more flexible.
Work-related events
Product Unconference - I mostly wanted to listen. It was nice to have a chat with a couple of people I’ve not seen since the pre-pandemic times and catch up. Hopefully more of that at the govcamp! The ‘working without a DM’ session highlighted how dysfunctional most teams are… I am very thankful for my current working situation and my great PM, but I’ve definitely felt a lot of the pain from the other side before haha. Altho people talking about their DMs being significantly more optimistic when reporting to higher ups was quite a shock, out of the things spoken about this was something I’ve never encountered. :))
DM away day for our programme - With two guest speakers and some group work this was a packed day that I think was quite effective in re-energising most attendees… It was definitely useful to have the time to talk about community things and agree actions for the next couple of months, and between setting up a survey to collect learning/skills/observation needs and writing up a thing about how I do health checks (including examples from a couple of other people) I definitely have new found energy to do things. \m/ But also, an ever-increasing antipathy towards the word ‘playbook’....

Making
My pottery class restarted!! \o/ With two out of 8 classes done I have an easter bowl ready for bisque and underglazes and half a teapot complete. The pace is pretty slow and all the techniques explained as quite a few people are brand new to pottery so my expectation of it building directly on the Beginners class is not fully realised. I’m in two minds about it because it’s nice and relaxing, but on the other hand a lot of the time is spent on things like I feel like I’ve got covered, especially considering I’ve done several drop-ins.
Speaking of drop-ins, my nerikomi plant pot is also just waiting for glazing and firing. I had a mishap with some paper stuck in it so fingers crossed and prayers for it not exploding. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I also went to a different class, to explore making plaster moulds and using slip. I will make a separate review after part 2 in a couple of weeks but overall I was amazed by how easy it was. If I can find some place to work with casts and slip more (my studio’s current drop-ins don’t really have it available), I definitely will.
With this, my drop-ins are all used up and I think I will not be buying more before March considering all my other crafting commitments. 😅
On Friday evening I went to the first out of five classes about laser cut jewellery. It's much easier than expected, with most difficulties being Windows and trackpad related haha. I've got to see if there's adecent vector drawign app for iPad.
Eating
I’m trying to eat less meat this year. Giving it up entirely is unrealistic (I went to Berenjak and oh my god the chicken was so good) but exploring more veggie options is so far very fun - even if it’s just ordering tofu version of drunken noodles from Rosa’s. ;)
Last 2 weeks highlights:
Unity Diner - 2nd try, still so so good! I realised I’ve only had chicken approximates but one of my friends ordered the ‘lobster’ mac’n’cheese which was similarly uncanny in texture, and another the ‘tofish’ and both were very happy with their choices. I’ll probably go back very soon.
What the Pitta - entirely incidental trip after I got annoyed with either of the Prets by the office not stocking the new NODuja range or Jambon-buerre (sssh!). The wrap was very tasty, massive, and ready pretty much immediately so this is a perfect place for lunch.
Holy Cow! - a Friday night delivery order, inc their take on black daal.  Honestly not too impressed, will go for veggie options from usual Indian takeouts in the future. :(
Looking
New Black Vanguard (tbqh the Bitter Nostalgia room with collabs by Hyangmok Baik and Adébayo Bolaji was my favourite thing in Saatchi that day tho)
