the farmer’s daughter
dbsf! abby x fem! reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary; abby knew it was wrong to like you. you were her best friend’s daughter. but she couldn’t help it.
cw; +18 minors dni!, reader isn’t shy!!!, nudity, body worshipping, kissing, begging, tit and nipple play, oral sex (r receiving), praise, use of nicknames instead of y/n, hair pulling…
she knows she shouldn’t. you’re her best friend’s daughter. but she couldn’t help herself.
it was a hot july afternoon. the sun was bathing her freckled skin and broad exposed shoulders. sweat was running down her face in salty droplets that she swiped away before they could reach her sky blue eyes.
she had been helping her best friend for hours on his farm, soiling the ground for the autumn and helping him out with some oil and tire changes for his truck.
“some lemonade?”
and there you were. in your denim short jumpsuit with just a mere bikini underneath. you were a sight for sore eyes. with tanned skin exposed for her hungry ones.
“thanks honey.” you father gave you a smile as he took one of the glasses being offered, gulping down the sweet iced lemonade.
“thanks.” abby said, taking the other, and you gave her a nectar grin.
“i’m going to the lake for a little bit with laura.” you informed your father, who nodded.
“okay, you two be careful out there, yeah? don’t wantcha drowning.” he ordered in his deep accent. you snickered.
“i would never.” you gave her a soft kiss on his sweaty cheek. “good luck with your truck!” you quickly waved as you ran towards the field, where your friend was waiting for you, towels in hand.
abby watched you go, your beautiful hair waving against the wind and shining under the sun. what she’d do for a kiss of your lips…
“sweet isn’t it?” you father inquired, tasting the lemonade you’d made for them, although abby was not really thinking about the lemonade when she answered.
“yeah. real sweet.”
-
when you got back to your house, your father was nowhere to be seen.
abby was in the kitchen, drinking a cold beer to fight the warmth of the summer.
you were dripping wet, your clothes and towel hanging on your arm as your drenched hair let droplets fall onto the skin of your chest.
“where’s dad?” you inquired, leaving your things on the kitchen table and opening the fridge, bending over to retrieve some lemonade.
“went out to the market. said he needed to buy some stuff.” she said, her eyes roaming your body; the arch of your back, the nipples poking through the top of your bikini, your perfect little ass… abby gulped down another mouthful of her beer, feeling the heat of the summer on her throat.
you hummed. “probably ingredients for dinner. he’s been craving my meatloaf.” you smiled at her, jar in hand.
you took a glass and poured some of the lemonade in it, hurriedly gulping it down in a frenzy. desperate.
abby seemed amused. “thirsty?” you hummed, finishing down your drink and spilling some of it down your chest. if your skin would be sweet before, now it could make her teeth rot.
“it’s so hot outside.” you gasped. abby’s eyes followed the droplets as they found your cleavage.
she shook her head, taking a cloth from the counter to walk over you and press it against your chest. “so clumsy…” you looked up at her, into her ocean eyes, feeling your heart beat faster at her closeness. abigail anderson, your father’s best friends since you could remember. 6,3ft of pure muscle and inches of blonde braided hair that reminded you of the wheat your father reaped. she was strong, kind, intelligent and really, really attractive. your eyes roamed her face, the scar on her left cheek, the little freckles that have shown on her nose due to the sun, her long eyelashes, her supple pink lips…
“sorry…” you muttered, unconsciously biting on your bottom one. her eyes followed the motion, quickly returning to your eyes.
she pulled away, clearing her throat. “you’re drenched.” she said. “your father would kill you if he saw you wetting the floor.” you chuckled.
“you’re right.” and that’s when a glorious idea came to your mind. you turned around pulling your hair to your front to expose the laces of your neck and back. “do you mind?” you looked over your shoulder at her, and abby frowned. before she realized what you wanted her to do.
“oh… sure.” she said with a cough, coming up from behind you. you felt your skin rose in goosebumps when her fingertips graced your skin, holding onto the strings of the bow of your back before slowly pulling. she gulped. slowly undoing it. you took a deep breath, standing still, your heart deafening. once it’s strings were hanging by your sides, abby slowly moved to the one surrounding your neck. the time she took to get it undone seemed to stretch out. abby’s tongue wetted her lips. she could feel her stomach churning, her hands shaking. you felt the top fall. you didn’t even bother to catch it, letting it slide down your navel, exposing your supple breasts and perky nipples.
you slowly turned once again, the piece of clothing abandoned at your feet. and abby felt like she couldn’t breath, faced with your nudity. with your beautiful exposed skin. your cheeks were reddish under her gaze. you felt small and delicate under it. as if you could break. maybe you wanted it.
“what are you doing?” she breathed out, her throat dry.
“you don’t like it?” you muttered, and she quickly let you know it was nothing like that.
“no, no… it’s just…” she sighed. “you shouldn’t be… we shouldn’t be…” but again, you were looking at her with those pretty doe eyes, offering yourself in a silver platter for her to devour. and abby was a weak woman. “fuck it.” she growled, shortening the distance that stood between the two of, cupping your plush cheeks with her warm hands to bring your lips to hers. it was devastating. how they felt. soft. sweet and sour.
you hummed, your back arching against her as you got on your tiptoes to reach her lips. she tasted like beer, and cigarettes, salty due to the sweat that coated her skin. fresh pines engulfed your senses as you pulled on her braided locks. her tongue pressed against your lips in invitation, and you opened up for her, moaning on her mouth. she pressed against you until you were against the kitchen counter, her hands leaving your face to slowly drift down your neck to your shoulders, elbows, hips, and lastly your thighs, pulling you up the cold surface. you gasped as it made contact with your skin. or maybe it was her hands on your waist, the same hands that now were hungrily kneading at your breasts, fingers tweaking your hardened nipples. you whimpered when she left your lips, her mouth leaving wet kisses down your neck.
“abby…” you breathed out, her name tasting like honey on your lips. “please.” it was as if your words had power over her, one simple plea and she was down on her knees for you, dying to worship you like some kind of god. you stared at her from above, as she looked at you through her blonde lashes. her hands were on top of your thighs, shaking in need to touch you in places no one has ever touched you before.
you opened your legs for her. a silent invitation as your hands went to the strings of your bikini bottom, pulling at the laces on your hips until it was loose, barely hiding you from her. but not for long, ‘cause you were pulling at the piece of clothing to drop it on the floor, where your top laid.
“fuck…” the blonde cursed at the sight of you, at the sight of your sticky folds, exposed twitching leaking hole and your puffy reddish clit. the next curse that filled the air came from your lips as her own wrapped around that throbbing bundle of nerves, her hands pushing your thighs over her strong exposed shoulders for a better angel.
“shit, abby… yes, just like that, please…” your eyes rolled to the back of your head, your jaw falling slack as a pant left your lungs. her tongue was hungrily lapping at your slick, she was starved, yet slow. she wanted this moment to last, maybe for ever. your fingers pushed in between her golden locks, tugging her closer and making her groan.
“ hmm god.” she hummed. “taste so good, baby…” there were fireworks behind your eyelids as your back arched. this was heaven, and you were a sinner for wanting her this bad. abby didn’t mind being one too.
you’re sweet as honey as you drip down her chin, as one of her fingers sink inside of you and you let out this moan that makes her believe you’re certainly an angel if not a god. something holy you must be. for her to push aside the guilt that making you hers brings down her shoulders, that sinks her down to her knees and makes her forget the fact that you’re her best friend’s daughter.
she crooks it up against your g spot, and the fireworks turn into stars.
abby feels like she’s been locked out of heaven for so long… but now, in between your legs, hearing you moan her name, she feels blessed, pure.
she adds another finger, and the stretch makes you cry out as she sucks on your clit. you’re close. and she knows.
“abby, i’m gonna… please don’t stop, please…”
and even if she wanted, she couldn’t. she wouldn’t. not when you beg her. when you plead so sweetly it’s making her rot.
“cum for me, honey. cum for me.” she looks drunk on you, pupils blown, lose strands of her hair sticking to her forehead and lips swollen and shiny on your slick.
and something you do is give it to her. in between moans and cries and whimpers you spill inside her mouth, body shaking in ecstasy.
and abby drinks it all up. scared. terrified. terrified that this would be the last time she will get to taste something as holy as you.

who did this to you. part 3
🤍🌷 read part 1 here | read part 2 here pre-s4, steve whump, protective (but scared) eddie. now with robin!
The number rings in his head, echoing off the inside of his skull and sinking lower and lower until his heart strings join the symphony that leaves him shaking as the memory of Harrington’s slurred voice is drowned out by the dial tone that feels harrowingly like a flatline right now.
Said I’ll go blind. Or deaf. Or just… die.
Eddie doesn’t really feel like his body belongs to him anymore, or like there’s anything left inside him other than panic and fear and that stupid, stupid shaking that he can’t suppress even as he bites his knuckles. Hard.
The pain helps a little not to startle too much when the dial tone stops and a female voice begins speaking to him. Still he almost drops the phone, cursing under his breath as he pulls his hair to collect himself and get his voice to work.
“H— Hi, hello, Mrs Buckley? This is, uh. I. I’m. A friend of Robin’s, could you, uh—“
“Oh, of course, dear,” the woman says, and Eddie feels his eyes beginning to prick with how nice she sounds even through the phone.
Does she know Steve, too? Would she worry if she knew? Would she curse Eddie for not taking him to the hospital right away? Would she blame him if anything happened?
“I’m sorry? What did you say your name was?” she asks, repeating herself by the sound of it.
He blanks, for a whole five seconds, before he spots a note stuck to the fridge saying Don’t forget to eat, Eddie :-)
“Eddie,” he croaks. “Uh, Eddie Munson.”
“Alright, Eddie Munson, I’ll see if I can grab Robin for you. You have a good day, dear, yes?”
No. “Thanks.”
The hand clenched in his hair pulls tighter and tighter until the tears fall and he can pretend it’s from pain and not from— whatever the fuck is happening.
He waits, phone pressed to his ear with a kind of desperation he’s never really felt, and never wants to feel again. He doesn’t even know what to tell Robin; what to say. It’s not like they ever hang out or have anything to say to each other, so why would she—
“Munson?” Robin’s voice appears on the other end, a little too loud for Eddie’s certain state, and he does drop the phone this time, scrambling to catch it and only making the situation worse as it dangles by his knees.
He drops to the floor, pulling his knees to his chest and reaching for the phone again.
“Hi.”
“What do you want? How’d you even get this number? I swear, if you—“
“It’s Blue. I mean, Steve. Harrington.”
That shuts her right up, and Eddie clenches his eyes shut for a moment, hoping to keep the tremor out of his voice if only he takes a moment to breathe.
The moment stretches. And Robin’s voice is wary and quiet when she speaks again.
“What about Steve.”
Eddie rubs his face, leaving more dirt and grime to fill the tear tracks, and clenches his fist before his mouth.
“Eddie,” Robin demands, dangerous now. Nothing left of the rambling, bubbling mess he knows her to be on the school hallways. “What. About. Steve.”
“He… He’s hurt.”
There’s a bit of a commotion on the other end, before Robin declares, “I’m coming over. You tell me everything.”
“You— I mean, he’s in the hospital with my uncle, so—“
“I am. Coming. Over,” she says, enunciating every word as though she were making a threat. Maybe she is. But the certainty in her voice helps a little, anchors him the same way that Wayne’s calmness did. “And you tell me everything.”
Eddie finds himself nodding along, knowing intuitively that there is nothing that could stop her now. Knowing that he doesn’t want to stop her.
“‘Kay.” It’s a pathetic little sound, all choked up and tiny. She doesn’t comment on it.
One second he hears her determined exhale, the next she’s hung up on him and Eddie is greeted by the flatline again. He lets out a shuddering breath and leans his head back against the wall.
Breathing is hard again, but it’s all he has to do now, all that’s left to do, so he focuses. Inhale. Hold. Exhale. Hold. His lungs are burning and there’s something wrong about the way he pulls in air and keeps it there, desperately latching onto it until the very last second, his exhales more of a gasping cough than calm and controlled.
It takes a while. Longer than it should. But with Harrington’s blood still on his hands, with his heartbeat in his ears so loud he can’t even hear the words Wayne used to say about breathing in through the mouth or the nose or… or something, he—
He’s fine. He’s home. Wayne’s got Blue, and Buckley is on her way, and… He’s fine.
People don’t just die.
They don’t.
He’s fine.
Eventually, Eddie manages to breathe steadily, the air no longer shuddering and his hands no longer shaking. It’s stupid, really, being so worked up over someone he doesn’t even really know. Sure, everyone knows Steve fucking Harrington, and everyone sees Steve fucking Harrington — whether they want it or not. He has a way of drawing eyes toward him even if all he does is walk the halls with his dorky smile and that stupidly charming swagger he’s got going on. Always matching his shoes to his outfit.
Eddie can relate.
Always reaching out to touch the person he’s talking to; clapping their back or shoulder, lightly shoving them in jest, ruffling their hair or chasing them through the halls, moving and holding himself like teenage angst can’t reach him. Like he belongs wherever he goes. Like he’s so, so comfortable in his own skin. Like the clothes he wears aren’t armour but just a part of him; a means of self-expression.
Again, Eddie can relate. He can relate to all of this.
It’s almost like the two of them aren’t so different after all. Just going about it differently.
And now he’s… Bleeding. Slurring his speech. Wheezing his breath. And Eddie feels protective. Eddie feels responsible. Like he should be there, like he should get to know more about him. About Steve. About Blue.
But he can’t. And he won’t. So he gets up with a groan that expresses his frustration and the need to make a sound, to fight the oppressive silence that only encourages his thoughts to run in obsessive little circles, and he hangs up the phone that’s been dangling beside him all this time.
He needs a smoke.
He needs a smoke and a blunt and a drink and for this day to be over and for time to revert and to leave him out of whatever business he stumbled into by opening the door to the boathouse and, apparently, Steve Harrington’s life.
But unfortunately, the universe doesn’t seem to care about what he needs, because just as he steps outside and goes to light his cig, he catches sight of a harried looking Robin Buckley, standing on the pedals of her bike as she kicks them, her hair blowing in the wind to reveal a frown between her brows. A wave of unease overcomes Eddie, an unease he can’t really place. Maybe it’s the set of her jaw, or the tension in her shoulders, or maybe it’s the worry and anger she exudes.
It never occurred to him before that Robin Buckley might not be a person you’d want to set off. And not because of her uncontrollable rambles.
“Munson!” she calls over, carelessly dropping her bike in the driveway and stalking toward him.
Almost as if summoning a shield, Eddie does light the cigarette. Pretends like the smoke can protect him.
She doesn’t stop at the foot of the steps, though, climbs them in two leaps and gets all up in his space with that unwavering look of determination — so unwavering, in fact, that it almost looks like wrath. Cold. Eddie wants to shrink away from it, not at all daring to wonder what could make her look like that upon hearing that Steve’s hurt.
I don’t wanna die, Munson. I never… I didn’t. With the monsters or the torture.
But those are the words of a semi-conscious teenage boy beat to a pulp, they can’t— There’s no way. Eddie misheard him, or Steve was talking about some kind of inside joke, using the wrong terminology with the wrong guy. It happens. It happens when you’re out of it, really! The shit he’s said when he was shot up, canned up, all strung out and high as a kite… He’d be talking of monsters, too, and mean some benign shit.
But the way Harrington looked, none of that was benign. The bruising all over his face, the blood still dripping from the wound by his temple or his nose, the way he held himself, breath rattling in his lungs, or—
“Hey!” Buckley demands his attention, giving him a light shove; just enough to catch his attention, really, and just what he needed to snap out of it. Still the smoke hits his lungs wrong and he coughs up a lung, further cementing his role of the pathetic little guy today.
“Hey,” he says lamely, his voice still croaking as he crushes the half-smoked cigarette under his boot. “Sorry.” He doesn’t know for what. But it feels appropriate.
She shakes her head, rolling her eyes at him as she crosses her arms in front of her chest.
“Tell me,” she says at last, and even though there is a tremor in her voice, she sounds nothing short of demanding. “I want the whole story, and I want it now.”
And so he does. He tells her everything, bidding her inside because he needs the relative safety of the trailer even though the air in here is stuffy and still faintly smells blue. He pours them both some coffee and some tea, because asking what she wants doesn’t feel right in the middle of telling her how he found her supposed best friend beat to shit in the boathouse he went to to forget about the world for a while.
She stills as she listens to him, staring ahead into the middle distance somewhere beneath the floor and the walls, her hands wrapped around the steaming mug of coffee. Eddie stumbles over his words a lot, unsettled by her stillness, her lack of reaction. She doesn’t even react to his fuck-ups. People usually do.
He wants to ask. Where are you right now? What have you seen? What’s on your mind? What the fuck is happening?
But he doesn’t ask, instead he tells her more about Steve. About how he seemed to forget where he was. About the pain he was in. About the smiles nonetheless. The way he reassured Eddie.
That one finally gets a choked little huff from her, somewhere between a sob and a laugh.
“Yeah, that sounds like him alright. He’s such a dingus.”
There is so much affection in her voice as she says it that Eddie can’t help but smile into his mug.
“Dingus?” he asks, hoping for some lightness, hoping to keep it.
But the light fades, and her eyes get distant again. Eddie wants to kick himself.
“Just a stupid little nickname. An insult, really.”
“Oh.” He doesn’t know what to do with that. If he should ask more or if he should say that he has a feeling Steve might appreciate stupid little nicknames. Especially if they’re unique. Especially if they’re for him. But what right does he have to say that now? What knowledge does he have about Steve Harrington that Robin doesn’t?
So he bites his tongue and drinks his coffee, cursing the silence that falls over them as Robin mirrors him, albeit slow and stilted, like she doesn’t know what to do either. Or where to put her limbs.
“Wayne’s got him now. I took him here, after the boathouse, because I didn’t know what to do. He said he didn’t want the hospital, said there’s…” He trails off.
Robin looks at him, her eyes wary but alert. “Said there’s what?”
It’s stupid. Don’t say it.
“Eddie?”
With a sigh, he puts his mug on the counter and stuffs his hands into his pockets. “He said there’s monsters. In the hospital, I mean. He said that.”
Instead of scoffing or at least frowning, Robin clenches her jaw and nods imperceptibly, her eyes going distant again. Eddie blinks, the urge to just fucking ask overcoming him again, but with every passing second he realises that he doesn’t actually want to ask. He doesn’t want to know, let alone find out.
He just… He just wants to go to bed. Forget any of this ever happened. But he can’t do that, so he continues.
“Brought him here and Wayne took one look at him and convinced him he needed a doctor. And, Jesus H Christ, he was right. I’ve never… I mean, those things don’t happen,” he urges, balling his hands into fists even in the confined space of his pockets. “Right? I mean… Shit, man.” He bumps his shoe into the kitchen counter; gently, so as not to startle Buckley out of her fugue like state.
“You’d be surprised,” she rasps, staring into the middle distance again and slowly sinking to the floor. There is a tremor in her shoulders now, barely noticeable, but Eddie knows where to look. Without really thinking about it, he grabs two of his hoodies he’d haphazardly thrown over the kitchen chairs this morning while deciding on his outfit and realising that it was altogether too warm for long sleeves today. But now, right here in this kitchen, the air tinged with blue, they’re both freezing.
Because fear and worry will take all the warmth right from inside of you and leave you freezing even on the hottest day of the year.
She barely looks at him when he holds out his all-black Iron Maiden hoodie to her, freshly washed and all that, but she takes it nonetheless, immediately pulling it on. It’s way too large on her, her hands not showing through the sleeves, her balled fists safe and warm inside the fabric. It would make him smile if only it didn’t highlight her stillness, her faraway stare, and the years he has on her. She’s, what, two years younger than him? Three?
It seems surreal. Everything, everything does.
Robin Buckley in his home, sitting on his kitchen floor, swallowed by a hoodie that is a size too large even for him, but it was the last one they had in the store and he doesn’t mind oversized clothes, can just cut them shorter when the need arises or layer them or declare them comfort sweaters for when he wants to just have his hands not slip through the sleeves on some days. And now Robin is wearing his comfort hoodie because her best friend was bleeding in his car earlier and then on his couch and now in his uncle’s car, and they never even talk, but he knows that Robin’s favourite colour is blue, but not morning hour blue because that makes her sad; only deep, dark blues.
Her favourite colour. Her favourite person.
It’s so fucking surreal.
He drops down beside her, leaving enough space between them so neither of them feels caged, and mirrors her position: knees to his chest, chin on his forearms. Staring ahead.
And silence reigns.
“Your uncle,” she says at last, finally breaking the silence that’s been grating on Eddie’s nerves and looking at him, really looking as she rests her cheek on her forearms crossed over her knees. “Tell me about him.”
There is a gentleness to her voice now despite how hoarse it is. Maybe she’s just tired, too. And scared. At least the shivering has stopped.
Still Eddie frowns, confused as to why she should be breaking the silence to ask about Wayne when everything today has been about Harrington. About Steve. About deep and dark blues.
“Uncle Wayne?” he asks. “Why?”
“Because,” she begins, and sighs deeply, works to get the air back in her lungs. Eddie wants to reach out, but instead he just clenches his fingers a little deeper into the fabric of his hoodie. “My best friend is hurt very badly and the only person with him is your uncle, and I need to know that he’s in good hands. Or I swear to whatever god you may or may not believe in, and granted, it’s probably the latter, but still I swear I’ll give into my arsonist tendencies and burn down this city, starting with your trailer if you don’t tell me that your uncle is a good man who will do anything in his power to make sure that boy gets the help and care he needs. And deserves.”
Her jaw is set and her bottom lip trembles, but it doesn’t take away from the absolute sincerity in her threat.
“So, please,” she continues, her voice breaking just a little bit. “Tell me. Tell me about your uncle.”
Tell me about your favourite person.
Eddie swallows, and mirrors her position once more, so she can see his eyes and know he’s sincere. Because he’s learned something about eyes today, about how much in the world can change if only you have a pair of eyes to look into.
And he nods, looking for somewhere to start. “He’s the best man I know. He’s the best man you’ll ever meet.”
She clings to his eyes. Searches them for the truth, beseeching them not to lie. He lets her.
“Took me in when I was ten, because my dad’s a fuck-up and my mom’s a goner. Took me in again when I was twelve after I ran away. Makes me breakfast and I pretends the dinner I make him is more than edible.” He smiles a little, because how could he not? “He’s my uncle, but still he’s the best parent anyone could wish for. Writes those little notes that he sticks to the fridge, y’know, the one with the smiley face? Tells me to eat, because I forget sometimes. I tell him to drink water, because he forgets. First few years, he’d read to me. And the man’s a shit reader, has some kind of disability I think, and at some point I learned that he wasn’t reading at all. He was telling me stories all the time, conning me into thinking that the books were magic, and that every time I’d try to read the book for myself, the story would change.”
There’s a lump in his throat now, and his eyes sting again. But Robin doesn’t seem to fare any better than him if her wavering smile is any indication.
“There’s no one,” Eddie continues, “who will make you believe in magic quite like uncle Wayne. Or in good things. And d’you wanna know what he told Blue when he said he was scared of going to the hospital?”
Sniffling, Robin shakes her head.
“He said, Okay. Then we do it scared. And all of that after he just… with that patience he has, told him everything that was gonna happen. And that he’d be there with him through it all. That he knew the doc and wouldn’t let anyone else near him, and that there’s no need to be scared at all.”
He sighs, breathes, stills. Swallows, before looking back at Robin.
“So, if there’s one person who’ll make sure that boy gets the help and care he needs and deserves…”
“It’s uncle Wayne,” Robin finishes his sentence, her voice still hoarse, but Eddie likes to think it’s for a different reason now.
“It’s uncle Wayne,” Eddie says, nodding along as he does.
There is something like understanding in Robin’s eyes now, and Eddie hopes it’s enough. Enough to calm the spiking of her nerves, enough to settle the coil of freezing nausea that must reside in the pit of her stomach, enough to let the next breath she takes feel a little more like it’s supposed to be there.
He wants to say something more, wants to reach out and reassure her that everything will be okay, but he can’t know that. He doesn’t feel like it’s entirely true, let alone appropriate right now.
There’s something in Robin’s eyes, in the way she holds herself, like she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. Like she accepts his words at face value but doesn’t really believe them. Like she’ll only rest when she’s got her best friend back in her arms and hears the story — the whole story — from him.
And Eddie doesn’t fault her, because the thing is, he doesn’t know what happened. Steve said that Hagan came at him, but that’s really all he got out of him before he started talking about death and shit, and Eddie really didn’t want to ask any more questions then.
So they sit there for a while, the silence oppressive and unwelcome, clumsy and awkward; Robin’s mouth opening and closing a lot, like she wants to ask questions but doesn’t dare to ask them — and Eddie doesn’t know if he’s glad about it or not. Doesn’t know if he wants to hear the kind of questions asked with that kind of stare.
It is only after a long while, when Robin’s shoulders start shaking again and she buries deeper into the hoodie and her own spiralling thoughts, that Eddie breaks the silence again, replaying in his head the last moment between him and Steve.
“He’s not gonna break,” he tells her, aiming for gentle and reassuring.
What he doesn’t expect is the minute flinch, the jolt shooting through her body and the pained expression it leaves her with. What he doesn’t expect is what she says next.
“You know,” she begins, her voice as far away as her eyes, and it’s like she doesn’t even know she’s speaking. “Sometimes I wish he would.”
What?
Eddie blinks, swallowing hard.
“Just for, just for a break. Just so he can rest. Let the rest take over for a while.”
That… He doesn’t— What the hell does that even mean?
“Like maybe then the world would… snap back.” She snaps her fingers, just once. This time it’s Eddie who flinches. “And everything bad would disappear. But it won’t. And he won’t.” She swallows. Then quietly, almost inaudible, “He won’t break.”
And the way she says it… It was reassuring before. And now it feels like a burden. A curse.
Who the fuck are you, Steve Harrington? And you, Robin Buckley.
Eddie shudders, knowing he doesn’t want the answer to that anymore. He doesn’t want the questions either. So he buries his face in his hands, closes his eyes, and breathes. The adrenaline has worn off by now, the repeated panicking that added fuse to the fire has ceased now, leaving him worn out and strung out, tired and exhausted. He pulls up the hood, burrowing into the warmth.
And then he stills. His usually twitching, fumbling, fiddling body falling entirely still beside Buckley.
It’s like time stops for a while there, even though Eddie knows that it’s dragging ever on and on. He’s inclined to let it, though. He’s too tired, too exhausted to really care about what time may or may not be doing.
“Why’d you call me?”
It takes a while for Eddie to realise that Robin’s spoken again, asked him a question out loud, the cadence of it different to the endless circles of questions Eddie’s got stuck in his head since the early afternoon tinged in blue against crimson.
He lifts his head, tucking his hands underneath his chin, and looks over at Buckley. Her hair is dishevelled now, her mascara smudged and crusty. Her lipstick is almost all gone, with the way he sees her biting and chewing on her lips.
“I… It seemed like the right thing to do, y’know? He kept repeating your number. In the car, it was like… Sounds dramatic, but it was like his lifeline, almost. Repeated it so often it kinda got stuck.” He shrugs. “Seemed important, too.”
Robin frowns; a careful little thing. “How’d you know it was me?”
“Well, he just talked about you. Y’know. Tell me about your favourite person, I told him, because that’s the thing you gotta do to keep people, like, talking to you. Not shit about what day it is, or what. Just, y’know. Let them talk about things they like. Things they’ll wanna tell you about. ’N’ he talked about you.”
She’s quiet for a while, letting his words sink in. And Eddie wonders if she knew. That she’s his favourite person. If he ever told her. If maybe he took that from him now. It’s a stupid thing to worry about, really; the boy was bloodied and bruised on his couch just an hour ago, there are worse things at hand for Eddie to worry about. But now he wonders if he just spilled some sort of secret. Some sort of love confession.
“Did you, I mean… Are you guys, like, dating? Did I just steal his moment?”
Robin huffs, but it’s more like a smile that needs a little more space in the room, a little more air to really bloom. It’s fond. She shakes her head, her eyes far away again, but closer somehow.
“Nah,” she says, and the smile is in her voice, too. Eddie kind of likes her voice like that. “We’re platonic. Which is something I’d never thought I’d say. Not about Steve Harrington, y’know?”
And the way she drags out his name… Eddie can relate. Like it means something, but like what it means is nowhere close to reality. Nowhere close to what it really means. Nowhere close to Blue.
Robin sighs, the sound more gentle than it should be, and leans her head against the cabinet behind her. “We worked together over summer break. Scoops Ahoy.” Her voice does a funny thing, and her eyes glaze over as she pauses. Eddie waits, his lips tipped up into a little smile, too; to match hers.
“What, the ice cream parlour?”
Robin hums, her smile widening at what Eddie guesses must be memories of chaos and ridiculousness. “I wanted to hate him,” she continues. “But try as I might, he wouldn’t let me. Or, he did. He did let me. Just, it turns out, there’s no use hating Steve Harrington, not when he’s so… So endlessly genuine. There’s nothing to hate, y’know? And then he…”
She stops, her mouth clicking shut as her eyes tear up a little. The Starcourt fire. Eddie remembers the news, remembers the self-satisfied smirk when he’d heard about it, remembers sticking it to the Man and to capitalism and to the idea of malls over supporting your friendly neighbourhood businesses.
Guilt and shame overcome him as he realises that they must have been in there when it happened.
“He saved your life?”
Robin’s eyes snap toward him, wide and caught, and Eddie raises his hands in placation.
“In the fire? Were you there?”
“Y—yeah.” She swallows hard, avoiding his eyes. “The fire. He saved me. Yeah.”
Eddie nods, deciding to drop that topic right there; to lay it on the ground as gently as he can and cover it with bright red colours so he never steps on it ever again.
“He must be your favourite person, too, then, hm?” he steers the conversation back away into safer waters.
“He is,” she says, sure and genuine and true. “It’s just. I don’t think I’ve ever been anyone’s favourite. He has a lot of people who care about him, you know? A lot of people he cares about. Even more numbers memorised in that stupidly smart head of his.” She huffs again, burrowing deeper into Eddie’s hoodie, pulling the sleeves over her hands some more. “It’s stupid, to be so hung up on this. Is it stupid?”
“I don’t think it is,” Eddie says, scooting a little closer to Robin. “Like, I don’t even know that boy, right? But even I know that he’s got some ways to shift your focus or something. Give you a silver lining, or something to take the pain away even when he’s the one who… I don’t know, that’s probably stupid, too.”
“Nah,” Robin says, scooting closer to him, too, until their sides are pressed together and she can lay her head on his shoulder. “It’s not stupid. You’re right; that’s Steve for you. ’S just who he is.”
It is, isn’t it?
You’re so blue, Stevie.
She’ll say something corny when, when you ask her, jus’ to fuck with you. Sunset gold or rose, jus’ to mess with… But is blue.
Blue. ‘S nice.
Yeah. Yeah, he is.
Eddie lets his thoughts roam the endless possibilities and realities that is Steve Harrington, the depths he hides — or won’t hide, maybe, if you know how to ask. Where to look.
Maybe he’ll find out, one of these days. Not about the terrible things that leave him scared of the hospital, not about the horrible things that have him speaking of death and dying like he’s accepted them as a possibility a long time ago.
He swallows hard and shakes off these thoughts, because things like that just. They don’t happen. They don’t happen to blue-smiled boys who trust you to be kind even when they’re beaten straight to hell. And they sure as hell don’t happen when uncle Wayne’s around.
Nothing bad has ever happened when uncle Wayne was around.
And he wants to tell Robin, wants to make that promise. But part of him can’t bear the thought of being wrong. So he keeps his mouth shut and just sits with her, their heads as heavy as their hearts as they wait.
The sun is long gone when the phone above him rings again, spooking and startling them out of their timeless existence.
“Yeah?” he answers, his heart hammering in his chest. “Wayne?”
“Hey, Ed,” Wayne’s voice comes through the phone like a melody. Calm and steady. Robin is scooting closer, and Eddie shifts the phone to accommodate her so they can both listen. Somehow, they ended up holding hands — and holding on hard. “We’re coming home now.”

Secret Benefits (part 6)
Sugar mommy!Larissa Weems x fem!reader
A/N: Here it is, after (quite) a long wait. Thank you for your patience! Oh, I actually shed a couple of tears writing this chapter, just warning you guys! I hope you’ll enjoy reading this <3
Tumblr media
You couldn’t believe your eyes. So much in fact that you had to rub them to make sure you were seeing straight. Larissa Weems was sitting at your kitchen table.
“Just a second,” you muttered.
You walked to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of water, not even bothering to use a glass and choosing instead to drink straight from it. You couldn’t remember being that thirsty ever before and the water didn’t seem to help at all.
“I guess we need to talk.” You said as you placed the bottle back inside the fridge.
“Yes, we do. But I don’t think you’re in a fit state to have a serious conversation right now. How’s your head?”
“Hmpf-“ you groaned and looked down, noticing that you were still wearing your outfit from the previous night. You reeked. A nauseating mix of sweat and alcohol.
Larissa noticed the way you stared at your dress and pushed a small sympathetic smile.
“Would you like to take a shower?” She offered.
“I think so, but I’m not sure I’ll have the strength for it.”
“Let me help.” She wasn’t offering this time.
Letting Larissa see you naked would have been a highly arousing thought a few weeks before, but not anymore. Not after what you had done to her.
You closed your eyes as she walked with you to the bathroom, listening to the muffled sounds of her stocking-clad feet against the wooden floor.
“Let me-“ Larissa said when you struggled to reach for the zipper at the back of your dress.
She carefully unzipped it and you heard her breath hitch in her throat.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Larissa quickly answered.
A bitter iron taste filled her mouth as she bit down on her tongue at the sight of the bruises on your spine. She would make that man pay. She didn’t know how yet, but she would.
She helped you step out of the dress that was pooling at your feet before her hands moved to unclasp your bra until she suddenly stopped herself.
“Are you alright with me removing your underwear?” She asked.
You stayed quiet for a few seconds. She was asking for your consent. You had treated her like shit and still, she was showing you sympathy.
“Yes.”
Larissa gave a small nod and unclasped your bra before removing your panties, making a point of keeping her eyes off your body as she did so.
“There,” she said, gesturing towards the shower.
She turned the water on and made sure it was at a nice temperature before letting you in.
You sighed with relief as you stepped under the warm water jet, the gentle pressure massaging your back.
“Should we start with your hair?” Larissa offered, to which you answered with a nod.
Having her hands in your hair would feel less awkward than on your body to start with.
She rolled up her sleeves and poured some shampoo in her hands, waiting for you to turn around before applying it to your hair. She was gentle with her movements, her fingertips massaging your scalp and making sure to thoroughly wash your hair.
You were lost in your thoughts when Larissa suddenly started humming a song, a soft melody that immediately made a lump grow in your throat. You felt like a child. For a moment you were sent back to your childhood home, sitting in the tub as a little girl as your mother bathed you. It must have been a Sunday, you could still smell the cake that was baking in the oven.
You were brought back to reality by Larissa carefully spinning you around.
“I’ll wash your body now if that’s alright.” She waited until you gave another nod before starting to wash your shoulders. You kept your eyes closed as she carefully moved down your body and Larissa wished she could have done the same. She felt like she was intruding, only adding more weight to what had happened to you the previous night.
You were grateful for the water that was falling down your face for it hid the silent tears that you had been shedding for a couple of minutes.
Your body suddenly twitched as you tried to hold back a sob, making Larissa look up at your face. She stood up from the kneeling position she had taken to wash your legs and gently cupped your cheek.
“Sweetling, are you alright?” She asked.
You only gave a nod as an answer, your throat too tight to say anything.
“Look at me,” she said.
You took a deep breath and opened your eyes only to meet Larissa’s worried ones.
She stepped back as soon as she noticed that you were crying, the warmth of her hand leaving your cheek. Larissa immediately thought that she had hurt you somehow and you watched as her mouth fell open as she searched for a way to apologise.
“I’m sorry.” You whispered.
“What?” She frowned.
“I said-“ You took a deep shaky breath, feeling more tears threatening to spill. “I am so, so sorry Larissa.” You managed to say before bursting into tears and falling to your knees.
Larissa stayed still for a moment, watching your body jolt as you sobbed loudly.
“Oh, sweetling…” She knelt and gently placed her hand on your shoulder.
“N-no!” You hiccuped looking at Larissa. You hid your face in your hands and tried your best to calm your breathing down, Larissa’s thumb rubbing soothing circles on your arm.
“Why are you here?” You eventually managed to say after a few minutes. You didn’t give her any time to answer before you went on. “After what I did to you, why the fuck are you here? Being nice to me and taking care of me when you should be gloating about me getting what I deserve.”
“You did not deserve that!” Larissa said severely, cupping your cheek so you’d look at her. She looked into your eyes for a moment before looking down at her lap. “You don’t wish any ill will on those you love, no matter how badly they hurt you.” She said barely audibly.
Love.
There. She had said it.
Love.
The lump in your throat only grew bigger as you watched her blue eyes get glassy.
“I’m so sorry,” you said again. “If I had known-“You shook your head and burst into tears again, feeling both helpless and hopeless.
“I know.” Larissa nodded and took a deep breath. You don’t wish any ill will on those you love. She carefully wrapped her arms around your body and pulled you close, letting your wet skin and hair soak through the fabric of her dress.
You don’t know how long you stayed there, the both of you kneeling on the bathroom floor until you started shivering and Larissa decided to wrap you in a towel. She picked a pair of pyjamas from your wardrobe and helped you put them on before taking you back to the living room.
“I’ll make you a cup of tea, it might help.” Larissa said as you lay back down on the couch.
“That’s what he said.” You answered after a while, remembering some bits of your night.
“He?”
“The man,” you groaned softly. “The one who saved me… He reminded me of you.”
“Did he?” Larissa asked as she walked back to the couch only to find you hiding under a cushion.
She placed the cup on your coffee table and carefully lifted your head to let it rest on her lap while her fingers brushed through your hair.
“Get some more sleep, you need it.”
“Will you be there when I wake up?”
There was a second of silence before Larissa answered.
“You know I will.”

Set The World On Fire
Chapter Nine
Lando Norris had been incredibly angry when they met. Incredibly angry, but sweet enough to help her. Turns out he just needed somebody to talk to, somebody to be there for him.
He was easy to fall for, and that put her in a world of danger

His mums place wasn't what she was expecting. She didn't know what she expected from Lando, but it wasn't this. He parked outside of the little apartment block on the outskirts of town and opened the door for her.
"This is your moms place?" She asked as she took Lando's hand and climbed out of the car.
She kept a hold of his hand as he walked over to the apartment. "Nobody knows about this place," he said as he took her up the stairs. "I think my mom knew she was going to die when she did. She left the keys for me for my sixteenth birthday."
He came to the door, apartment 105 on the first floor, and pushed it open.
It was... gorgeous. The pictures on the wall were of baby Lando and a woman. There were no baby pictures of his sister, but that made sense. The living room was tiny, with a small, L-shaped sofa pushed up against the wall. On the floor in front of it was a cream, shaggy rug, with a circular coffee table on the top. Opposite was a television.
Everything was covered in dust.
"I don't get time to come here much, now," Lando answered as she took a moment to explore. "It's the only thing I have left of hers."
He walked over to the fridge and pulled out two cans of beer. Lando sat himself on the sofa and turned on the television. It was the newest thing in the apartment, something he had bought after the old one packed up.
At last, she came and sat beside him. She tucked herself against his side and took the beer he offered her. "How did she die?" She asked as she cracked open the can.
Lando sucked in a breath. "I don't remember much about her," he confessed. "And my dad doesn't much speak about her. The records I've looked through say nothing about her getting sick, but nobody will tell me what actually happened."
She cuddled into him and sipped her beer. "Tell me about your step mother," she muttered.
Before he answered her, Lando pulled her into his lap. She placed her beer down and wrapped her arms around his neck as his hands settled on her hips. "My step mother was a vicious bitch," he said with a laugh. "She was a great mum to me, but she was terrifying. Her main priority was taking care of my sister. Everything I know, she taught me." Guns, fighting, all of that. But Lando wasn't ready to tell her that. "Everyone that came in and out of our house was terrified of her."
"How did she die?" She asked, but Lando shook his head.
"That's a story for another day," he said and kissed her. "Should we order a pizza?"
They stayed on the sofa, eating pizza and drinking beer as they watched movie after movie.
Halfway through the third movie, she yawn and stretched her limbs up. "Are we sleeping here?" She asked sweetly, innocently, and Lando nodded his head. "Perfect," she whispered as she climbed off of his lap.
Lando watched her move across the apartment, his apartment. It wasn't owned by his father or the Norris family. It was his. And she was in it.
Her hips swayed as she moved. Before she could round the corner and disappear into his bedroom, she pulled her shirt over her head.
It landed in his lap.
Within a second he was jumping from the sofa and racing after her.
When he got there she was laying on his bed in nothing but her pyjama pants. Lando let out a low whistle as he looked at her. He'd been with plenty of women in his life, but none of them were her.
"Fuck," he hissed as she looked at her. "You really are something." He climbed onto the bed and crawled on top of her, kissing her slowly, completely ignoring her breasts.
She whined against his lips, threading her fingers through his hair. Lando rolled his hips against hers and she pulled her lips away from his to cry out.
She'd been wanting this, just as much as Lando had, since the wedding. "Please tell me you've got a condom," she whispered and Lando reached into the bedside drawers, pulling out a box of condoms.
She grabbed his face and pulled him down to kiss her.
He kissed her cheek and down her neck. Lando stopped to mark her up, to leave dark, purple bruises on her skin. She whined and moaned, tugging at his hair. He was loving every second of it.
Finally, he moved down to her breasts. She arched her back towards him as his thumb toyed with her right nipple, his lips wrapping around the left. "Fuck," she hissed, eyes squeezing shut as he played with her. "Lan."
He pulled away from her and reached up to quickly kiss her lips. When he pulled away, he grabbed hold of her pyjama pants and underwear and pulled them down her legs.
"Holy shit," he said as he dropped them to the floor. "You're fucking soaked."
"Jeez, I wonder why," she muttered with a grin as she parted her legs.
Lando touched her, gingerly parting her lips with his fingers. His breath hitched as he looked at her. He ran his fingers through her folds, gathering up her wetness and placing his finger in his mouth.
He released it with a pop and stroked over her hip. "I can't wait to get my mouth on you," he whispered, staring at her.
She looked down at him with adoration in his eyes. "Do it then."
Lando dove in. He pulled her towards him and pressed his face to her cunt. His lips sucked at her clit as he gripped her legs. Holding her open. The moan she let out echoed around the apartment. "Shit!" She cried, gripping the sheets. "Fuck, Lan." She bucked her hips against his face, but he held her still, used his tongue to bring her pleasure.
When he hummed against her, she grabbed his hair and bucked her hips towards his face.
Lando couldn't hold her for that one. He allowed her to move against him, his nose bumping her clit.
When her legs began shaking, Lando pulled away. "Pass me a condom," he said as he climbed back up her body and kissed her.
She could taste herself on him as his tongue danced into her mouth. Blindly she reached for the box of condoms and pulled out a square, blue wrapper.
He ripped it open and rolled it over his rock. "Next time, I want you to ride my face," he whispered as he lined himself up.
He kissed her as he slowly entered her. Inch by inch he pushed himself into her, his lips against her own. He didn't pull away until she did, throwing her head back as she moaned.
His movement were slow and gentle. If he wasn't kissing her, his forehead was against her own as he moved her hips. With how slow it was, Lando was determined to draw it out, to draw every little noise from her. It was music to his ears. If he could have, he would have listened to it on repeat for the rest of his life.
She locked her legs around him, her chest rapidly rising and falling as Lando brought her closer and closer to her orgasm. He buried his face in her neck, leaving a mirroring bruise on the side of her neck that had none.
She came, squeezing around him as a little cry left her lips. "That's it," Lando whispered against her neck. "That's it."
With just a few more thrusts he came inside of the condom. Immediately, Lando pulled out. He quickly pulled off the condom and dropped it in the bin, returning to the bed beside her.
Her breathing still heavy, she grabbed Lando's hand and brought it up to her lips. "That was," she began through heavy breaths. Lando grabbed her and pulled her close, wrapping his body around her. "Wow."
Lando squeezed her. "Something you'd wanna do again?"
"Definitely."

Evan Buckley Masterlist
Part 1
Summary: (Y/n) distances herself from Evan when the people at her college believe he shouldn't be with someone younger and inexperienced like her. But things change when she falls pregnant.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
A smile worked its way onto Evan's lips and he paused, looking down at the pair of arms that wound their way around his waist. He felt (Y/n)'s face press into his back between his shoulder blades and her palms spread out over his chest, gluing herself to him.
He could feel each shallow breath she took which fanned through his shirt and heated up his back.
"Have you had a drink yet?" He pushed away the bowl of salad so it was further back on the counter before he reached his hands down. Both hands moved to cup (Y/n)'s wrists and he tilted his head back, looking up at the ceiling as he wanted for an answer.
When he didn't get a response, he knew the answer was no. He gave her wrists a squeeze and slowly turned round in her arms so he could tangle his arms around her and keep her pinned up against him.
"You'll make yourself ill," Evan scolded with a stern expression that started to fade the moment (Y/n) smiled sheepishly up at him.
"I'm nervous." It wasn't much of an excuse, but it was the truth.
(Y/n) was too nervous to sit down, too nervous to stop and take a full breath and too panicked to think about trying to get a drink and keep her fluids up.
Evan's team were coming round for tea.
This was going to be the first time (Y/n) would meet the people he worked with, the people he classed as his family. (Y/n) knew what they meant to him. She knew his Captain had practically become his surrogate father and his colleagues were like his siblings that kept him grounded and got him through each shift at work.
And his big sister was coming over too. Maddie was the one who raised Evan since he was a child, she was the one he looked up to and seeked her approval of almost every aspect of his life. He strived to make her proud.
This was a big family unit and it wasn't something that (Y/n) was used to. She wasn't close to her parents and she didn't have any siblings. If this dinner tonight didn't go well, (Y/n) would ruin everything. She would make things awkward for Evan when all she wanted to do was make him proud and get along with his friends. She needed to gel with them and slowly intergrate herself with them so they could all get along.
There was nothing worse than feeling like the odd one out and feeling like nobody liked her or thought of her as one of their own. (Y/n) didn't want to be on the outside looking in.
"Baby…" Evan moved his hands up until he could cup (Y/n)'s face and brush his thumbs beneath her eyes. She was drifting. Panicking. Overthinking. "If I love you, then everyone else will too. Stop panicking and go get something to drink, I've barely seen you drink all day."
Leaning down, Evan captured her with a kiss before he walked her backwards and nudged her towards the fridge. Passing out the first night she met the team wouldn't be the best way to start things.
(Y/n) found a can of pop from the fridge and got Evan another beer which she barely managed to put on the counter without dropping when there was a knock at the front door.
She wasn't ready.
Maybe it would have been a better idea to try and meet everyone slowly, individually. Start out with Maddie and see how they got along, and then move on to meet Eddie, then Bobby and so on.
But it just so happened that everyone had today off shift, and that wasn't something that happened often. And (Y/n) couldn't help but agree when Evan asked if she wanted to take this chance and meet the team. Diving right in would get rid of her anxiety because she would meet everyone in one fell swoop. Rather than dividing everyone up and doing it in stages. This would be quicker.
And (Y/n) knew Evan wanted to introduce (Y/n) now because they were going for their twelve-week scan next week. That was when he wanted to tell everyone that he was going to be a dad.
He wanted to invite Maddie out somewhere, just the three of them, and tell her that she was going to be an auntie. That he was going to have his first child and see his sister smile and be proud of him. And then tell the team. And Evan couldn't tell any of them without them meeting (Y/n) first. Introductions first, big news later. Evan wasn't great at hiding secrets.
"Here we go," Evan murmured softly, moving his hands to (Y/n)'s shoulders so he could kiss the back of her head to keep her calm. He weaved around behind her and moved towards the front door with anticipation, wondering who was first to arrive.
(Y/n) took a quick gulp of her drink and wrung her hands out in front of her to try and rid some of the nervous tension she felt.
Her stomach was knotting itself up and she felt like she was going to be sick. She'd already thrown up everything she had for breakfast and lunch which had put Evan on edge all afternoon. Especially since he knew she had barely had two drinks all day because of a mixture of nerves and morning sickness.
She moved round towards the kitchen island and leaned on the edge, pressing her hands into the sharp counter that also jabbed into her hips as she pushed up on her toes. Her lips rolled together nervously and she felt her chest tightening up, unable to let her catch a proper breath.
"Okay, guys, this is (Y/n)." Evan couldn't quite hide the smile on his lips and it made (Y/n)'s stomach skip a beat.
Her eyes followed Evan was he walked back into the apartment, his hands on a woman's shoulders who was a good few inches shorter than him. He gave her shoulders a squeeze and leaned his chin on top of her head before he glanced to his right.
"This is Chimney, and this is my big sister Maddie."
It was clear by the way Evan clung to her that she was his sister (Y/n) had heard so much about. She had a bright, inviting smile and her eyes creased when she smiled. Her neck was lathered in three different necklaces and she had a few rings on both hands. With her hair pinned up on one side and her nails painted dark blue to match the blazer and trousers she was wearing, she looked lovely. Fashionable, even.
(Y/n) was taken a little by surprise when Maddie reached out to hug her. She wasn't used to making a lot of friends or meeting the family of friends. And Evan was someone special. (Y/n) wanted to get along with anyone who was important to him.
Being hugged straight away by Maddie felt like she was being intergrated and welcomed with open arms from the off-set.
"It's so lovely to finally meet you, Buck talks about you, a lot."
She could feel the blood rushing to her head making her sway on her feet as she clung to Maddie and squeezed her in return.
"All good I hope?" When they parted, (Y/n) moved towards the kitchen as Evan went back to the door at the sound of another knock. "Do you want something to drink?"
She found a bottle of wine and a beer from the fridge, holding them out so they could choose. Making herself useful stopped (Y/n) from panicking so much and gave her something to focus on. She could hear Evan laughing at something, or someone, as the sound of footsteps thundered through the apartment.
Evan could feel his own nerves dwindling down when he showed the rest of the team through into the kitchen. Where Bobby and Hen immediately sat down at the bar stools next to Chimney who was leaning casually on the counter.
But when Evan looked over at (Y/n) and Maddie, he could feel his heart hammering out in his chest. They were laughing. Their heads were leaned close together, their laughs were mixing together and they were fumbling to try and open the bottle of wine while Maddie steadied two wine glasses in her hands.
That was what he had been hoping for. Seeing the two most important people in his life getting along like a house on fire.
"You must be (Y/n)." Bobby grinned and leaned his elbows on the counter when the younger girl placed two different cans of pop in front of him so he could choose. She could tell from the way he held himself and the description she got from Evan that this had to be Bobby. And she knew he didn't drink, much like her for the next few months.
She nodded with a tender smile and passed a glass over to Eddie and one to Hen while Maddie took over pouring the drinks.
"This is our Captain Bobby. That's Hen, and that's Eddie. This is my girl, (Y/n)."
A smile lit up (Y/n)'s face when Evan walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Reeling her into his chest so he could merge his lips against the top of her head. He swayed them from side to side with a bright smile when (Y/n) gave his hands a reassuring squeeze.
"It's great to meet you, Evan's told me a few stories from your station."
"God, what has he told you?" Eddie threw his head back with a grin and took a large gulp of wine as he slumped forward on the counter. But his intrigue only sparked when (Y/n) smirked around her drink and held his gaze.
Oh, she was going to play that game. Evan had told her a few stories then, as ammunition for a good night.
"You call him Evan?" Hen held her glass to her lips and leaned her shoulders back against the fridge with one arm wrapped around her chest. It had been so long since any of them had heard or called Evan by his name that she almost forgot what it was. There were still a few people who referred to Chimney as Howie, but Hen didn't know anyone who called Evan by his first name. Not even Maddie anymore.
(Y/n) nodded, moving her free hand to play with the chain of her necklace. It was how Evan introduced himself to her. He didn't say his name was Buck, because that was his nickname and on a first introduction he could hardly say his name was Buck Buckley.
But she kept using his name because she knew Evan loved it. She was the only person who called him by his first name and it did something to him. It excited him and grounded him and made him feel at home.
"Why?"
"Because he likes it." Her response made them all grin, and when she turned to the right where Evan was taking the lasagna out the oven, she could see him smile. His cheeks flushed from both adrenaline and the heat of the oven he was leaning into. "He only got the nickname for work," She added quietly, although no one was complaining and there was no need to explain further.
"Did you?" Chimney looked over at Evan with raised brows. "I thought it was just your nickname, from college or whatever."
"There were three Evans in his class at the fire academy, they had to differentiate."
Evan paused, halfway between the oven and the table with his eyes following after his girl.
She remembered. She remembered that story which he had told her on their second date when he mentioned most people would call him Buck, not Evan. He didn't think it would stick or that it was something that important, but (Y/n) remembered. She wanted to know why he had a nickname and why he seemed to love her using his proper name.
His eyes followed (Y/n) as she took the salad bowl over to the table along with the bottle of wine.
A few looks passed around the kitchen as everyone grabbed their glasses and followed to sit down since it was clearly time to eat. They were all thinking the same thing, as clear as day.
She was a keeper.
(Y/n) felt quite at ease when she had Evan sat on her left with his hand resting on her thigh. She had Eddie on her right, Bobby at the right end of the table, Hen at the other end and then Maddie and Chimney sat opposite them. It didn't feel as cramped as (Y/n) panicked it would and she could tell she was already fitting in with them and it felt like they were all glueing together.
"So, Buck said you're in college, what are you studying?" Hen leaned over to add some salad to her plate and looked over at (Y/n).
The conversation was flowing rather easily between them all. It was something (Y/n) was worried would be stiffled and broken, but she had been panicking for nothing.
Although just the thought of college made her stomach give an awful twist and sent her knee jittering against Evan's.
"I'm doing a degree in nursing." She tried to smile and tilted her head down towards her plate, but she didn't feel so hungry. Not after throwing everything up throughout the day and now feeling like her stomach was doing summersaults.
"Oh wow, so when we get busted up on shift, we can just get (Y/n) to patch us up."
"We're both medics Chim, so is Eddie." Hen waved her hand across at him as if he had forgotten what they all did for a living. Especially when Maddie mumbled a quiet "And I'm a qualified nurse too." in his ear.
Not that none of them wouldn't go to (Y/n), but they all pitched in to look after each other. And no one suspected Evan would be willing to share his girl, she was going to be his personal nurse and his only. He wasn't the sharing type, he was the jealous type.
"Well it's good news for me," Evan murmured and pressed his lips to the top of (Y/n)'s head.
"Yeah, danger-prone Daphne can have his own nurse so we don't have to patch him up." Bobby grinned and dodged quickly when Evan flicked his fork across the table at him, splattering red sauce on the collar of his shirt.
He wasn't as bad as he used to be when he was a teenager. Evan wasn't vying for anyone's attention anymore. He knew the people around him could see him for who he truly was. He didn't have to get hurt or break a bone for someone- his parents- to take notice of him and give him some love and attention. He had all the attention he wanted.
Evan kept his right arm looped over the back of (Y/n)'s chair and curled his hand around her shoulder. He leaned back in his seat and parted his knees to the side while his left elbow propped up on the table. It felt good to have (Y/n)'s head on his shoulder and her fingers trailing up and down his thigh to give her something to focus on.
"Don't you like Buck's cooking? He's taking lessons from Cap."
(Y/n) looked to the right when Eddie noticed she had barely touched her plate whereas the rest of them were almost finished. They were used to eating quick, everyone at the station had developed a high metabolism because of how little time they had to eat meals.
"I- I'm still a little nervous I guess." She was hungry, but she didn't feel like she could eat much. She still had a full can of pop left which she had barely touched and she knew if Evan noticed he would be watching her closer like a hawk.
She tilted her head to the left and pressed her forehead into Evan's neck, breathing in his scent and feeling the way his throat moved when he laughed at one of Chimney's jokes. The atmosphere was good; there was no need for (Y/n) to be nervous. They were all getting on like a house on fire.
But (Y/n) closed her eyes and moved her free hand to wrap around her waist when her stomach twisted.
She wasn't sure if she was starting to feel sick or if her nerves were getting the better of her. With her temple pressed into Evan's neck, (Y/n) couldn't tell for a moment if it was him or her who was beginning to sweat. The trickle of water that slithered down her neck told (Y/n) she was the one starting to get flushed.
She could feel her ears tuning out of the conversation around the table, she could barely hear what Evan was saying or work out what he was laughing at.
When her stomach gave an awful, twisted cramp, (Y/n) jolted into Evan and inbedded her arm into her waist. She felt Evan's arm loop tighter around her shoulders and his head tilted down to look at her.
"Okay?"
(Y/n) wanted to smile, she wanted to nod and say she was fine, but she couldn't find her voice or the will to lie. She wasn't so sure she did feel okay after all as another cramp burned in her abdomen.
Her chin pressed down into her chest and she pushed her palm down onto Evan's thigh to use him as leverage to stand up. She could feel their eyes fall on her as the conversation tapered off and quietened down when she turned away and headed into the kitchen. Her hands started to shake, one arm still around her waist with her other hand trembling against the counter that she used to stop herself from falling down.
As soon as the bin was within reach, (Y/n) doubled over just in time to throw up. Her hands gripped the bin and her stomach clenched as she doubled over and bent her knees, pressing her kneecaps into the bin to stay upright.
"Oh no." Evan dropped his fork on his plate and got up, jogging from the table into the kitchen.
He smoothed his hand up and down (Y/n)'s back and gently moved her hair behind her ear before she threw up in it. His lips merged with the back of her head as he moved both hands to her hips and held her up when she looked like she was going to fall into the bin and take it down to the floor.
He couldn't tell whether this was morning sickness acting up or if (Y/n)'s nerves were getting the better of her. Or maybe it was a mixture of both.
"I'm s-sorry-"
"Don't apologise, you're okay." Evan curled his left arm around (Y/n)'s waist and gently reeled her up into his chest while he grabbed a glass with his right hand and filled it with water. He handed the glass over but his lips curled into a grimace when (Y/n) tried to take a mouthful but ended up coughing it back into the bin.
(Y/n) let Evan take her weight and leaned back into him, gripping his wrist when his arm secured back around her middle like an iron bar preventing her from flopping down to the floor.
His lips meshed against the back of her head while his other hand gave her hip a reassuring squeeze. When she nodded, he turned them around and gently walked them back towards the table where all eyes were watching them with worry and apprehension.
"Was that the nerves, or the cooking? Should we be worried?" Maddie tried to break the tension and looked down at her plate that was just about cleared. Did they need to worry about food poisoning or any of the ingredients being off, or was this just (Y/n)'s nerves playing her up?
(Y/n) tried to smile but she couldn't find it in herself when another throbbing cramp burned in her abdomen and had her arms binding around her waist. She let Evan slump her down in her chair and suddenly she didn't care about everyone watching them. She let herself fold over and pressed her forehead down against the edge of the table with her hands meshed into her stomach.
"Are you okay?" Eddie clamped his hand down on the back of (Y/n)'s chair and turned to face her and Evan. He wasn't so sure this was nerves when she looked like she was in pain.
His eyes flickered over to Evan who sat back down in his seat, one hand moving up and down (Y/n)'s back while his other hand was pressed tightly against his mouth to hide his worried expression.
"I… um," (Y/n) tried to lift herself up and look at Evan.
She didn't know if she was alright or not, this didn't feel normal, but then again, she wasn't sure what was supposed to be normal anymore. Was this normal because she hadn't been eating and drinking properly? Or was this something they should be worrying about?
She couldn't tell them she was pregnant. Evan wanted to wait. He wanted to sit Maddie down and tell her first and give her the scan picture they were going to get next week. Then he wanted to tell the team separately. She didn't want to ruin things and tell them this way or panic any of them. This was the first time they were all meeting, (Y/n) wanted to get along with them not worry them for no reason.
"(Y/n)'s pregnant… we're having a baby."
Evan had to tell them. He didn't like the pain (Y/n) seemed to be feeling or the fact that she hadn't kept anything down today or much of yesterday either. If she was in pain he might have to take her to the emergency room. And he had his team here, at least one of them could assess her and see whether this was an emergency or not.
He watched the round of surprised faces stare back at him like he'd grown a second head in front of them all.
But it was Maddie who his eyes focused more intently on and the way her hands started flapping at her sides like she was a bird growing wings. Her lips parted into a smile and she tapped her hand against the table before something seemed to dawn on her.
"Oh, maybe we should take you to a doctor sweetie, just to be safe."
"No, it's j-just cramps-"
"Baby you shouldn't be getting those at all. You're probably dehydrated, you need to see a doctor." Evan slid his arm around her waist and reeled her back into his chest so she couldn't fold over again.
He watched carefully as Eddie gently took her wrist to feel her pulse before he pressed his hand against her temple and then lifted her eyelid to check her pupils. "If you are dehydrated, that could cause the cramps, you should get checked, maybe get an IV and fluids back in your system."
"Alright, let's go." Evan kept his arms looped around (Y/n)'s waist while Eddie stood in front of her for precaution as Evan eased her up. "I've had a drink-"
"I've only had one, I'll drive you." Eddie patted Evan's shoulder and checked his pocket for his phone and his keys while everyone round the table got up.
"I'll go with you." Maddie rubbed her hand up and down Evan's arm and reached over to take (Y/n)'s hand.
***
"How we doin'?"
(Y/n) tightened her hand around Evan's and moved her free hand to curl around his bicep. She pulled his arm so it was pinned into her chest while she pressed her nose and mouth against his exposed arm. She could feel her heart hammering against her chest and adrenaline pooling in her stomach when she looked around the waiting room.
The team were all here.
She knew Eddie and Maddie had offered to stay since Eddie drove them down and Maddie travelled down with them just to make sure they were all okay, but (Y/n) didn't expect them to stay. And she thought Bobby would have taken Chimney and Hen home.
All five of them were sat in the waiting room, looking very relaxed and not a bit put out or annoyed.
(Y/n) had dampened the mood of the night by needing a trip to the emergency room. She thought they would have gone home or gone back to one of their homes and finished the night off together. (Y/n) was expecting them to call Evan and ask if she was okay and say how she had ruined their first night meeting her.
She was expecting him to get a phone call from one of them to ask how old she was and if he was serious about having a baby with her. She didn't see their faces round the table when Evan told them; (Y/n) didn't know if they were going to be happy or concerned.
"You… you all stayed?" She looked around the waiting room before her eyes looked up at Evan who smiled softly down at her. He leaned to peck her temple while his other hand cupped the back of her neck to keep her close.
"Of course we stayed, we wanted to make sure you're both okay… you are okay, right?" Bobby planted his hands down on his hips as he stood up, looking between them with a cautious smile. Since he couldn't see tears or panicked looks and since (Y/n) seemed to be discharged, he guessed things were okay.
"Someone's dehydrated, but an hour on an IV's done the trick."
(Y/n) kept her face smothered in Evan's arm and clung to him tighter. Perhaps she should have listened to him earlier when he told her to have a few more drinks and try to drink some water. The cramps were because she wasn't eating or drinking properly but since they had disappeared and her blood pressure was fine, she was being discharged.
And their scan for next week had been moved up to tomorrow, just as a precaution so they could make sure the baby was okay and had no further issues.
"You didn't have to wait," (Y/n) murmured softly as they all made a beeline down the corridor, walking slowly towards the exit.
"Oh please, you're one of us now. We look after each other, we weren't going anywhere without you."
She could feel tears burning in her eyes at Hen's words and she smiled against Evan's arm as he gave her hand a tight squeeze. She was one of them. The team loved her. They didn't think badly of her or think of her as some little kid trying to use and abuse Evan. They knew she loved him and they knew she was going to fit in and be one of them.
They looked after their own, if one of them was in the hospital then they would all be there to make sure they were okay.
Her head turned to the right when she felt Maddie walking at her side and the older girl suddenly looped their arms together and leaned close to her. Maddie pressed her chin on (Y/n)'s shoulder, grinning madly between her and Evan like there was some big secret hanging in the air.
"So… I'm gonna be an aunt, finally?"
"You're happy?" (Y/n) felt Evan scoff beside her and he leaned down to press his lips against her hairline.
"I told you she'd be happy, stop worrying." He almost found it funny that (Y/n) asked Maddie the same thing she'd asked him. He wondered if she would ask everyone special in their lives if they were happy about the news. And he had a strange feeling that if she asked his parents, they would somehow be happy. They may not get along well with Evan, but they would be pleased he was at this stage in his life where he had found someone brilliant to settle down with.
"I'm thrilled, my little brother's having a baby. He's gonna be a big papa bear." Maddie squeezed (Y/n)'s arm and grinned as if she was the one who was having a baby. Her expression was so giddy that it made (Y/n)'s blood spark with adrenaline.
She agreed with that. Evan was going to be a great, cuddly, soft papa bear when they had this baby.
***
When Evan walked through the door, he fought to kick off his boots and let his shoulders drop down now that he was inside. It was as if the bed was crying out his name, telling him it had been over twenty four hours since he'd last got some sleep. He needed to go to bed.
He slung his work bag down by his boots, he would sort it out and tidy up in the morning; it was too late and he was too tired to bother now.
He dragged his feet behind him and shuffled across into the kitchen, rooting through the fridge for a drink. But when he turned around, his brows narrowed and he leaned his head to the side.
Why was the lamp on in the living room?
Downing the whole bottle of water in one swoop, Evan left it on the counter and walked out the kitchen. He passed the dining table, his head still tilted to one side as he tried to see if (Y/n) was still down here or if she had just left the light on for him.
His lips rolled into a thin line and his hands found his hips and he looked around the living room.
It was nearly eleven o'clock at night, and here she was. Sat cross-legged on the rug in nothing but one of Evan's lounge shirts. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun, she had a pen clenched between her lips, a red marker pen tucked behind her ear. Two textbooks were laid out on the coffee table and revision cards littered the floor like she was performing some kind of omen or seance.
After dragging his eyes up and down her body a few times, Evan realised she had her headphones in. She hadn't heard him come in.
He made sure he wasn't about to stand on any of her revision cards and slowly went down on his knees behind her. He watched to make sure she wasn't writing any notes down; Evan knew how precise and neat (Y/n) made her notes and he didn't want to scare her and make her ruin them.
Satisfied she wasn't writing, he leaned forward and clamped his hands down on her hips. His chest pressed into her back and his face tucked into her neck, shivering as she screamed, spitting out the pen she had between her lips. A jolt ran through her body that jerked forward near the coffee table and ragged, panting breaths left her lips as she whipped her head to the right to look over at him.
"Evan!"
(Y/n) slapped his wrist and fumbled to move her legs and bring her knees up to her stomach. She let herself slouch back into his chest with her head on his shoulder. Her eyes closed tight and she took out her earphones, tossing them on the table now that her heart was pounding in her ears instead.
She hadn't realised it was so late. Once she'd gotten into the swing of revising, she lost herself and track of time. It was something to pass the time while waiting for Evan to come home. She didn't like being on her own during the night if he wasn't here. It didn't feel right without him.
"Sorry," She could tell by his tone that he wasn't really apologetic, and the feeling of his lips smiling against her neck also told her otherwise. "Do you know what time it is, baby?"
His words feathered over her skin while he started to press open-mouthed kisses along her neck and up towards her jaw. He was distracting. (Y/n) found herself melting into his touch and focusing on his actions rather than responding to his words.
She felt his left arm loop around her waist, pinning her into his chest while his right hand trailed up and down her inner thigh. With her knees pulled up like this, the shirt she was wearing had ridden up to her hips, giving him a perfect view of her bare legs and the top of her underwear.
"I got carried away," She whispered softly, turning her head so she could capture him in a kiss.
She had to keep herself busy somehow with Evan being out at work all day and into the evening.
"I think you've studied enough for one night, baby."
His hand left her thigh, but only so he could take the marker from behind her ear and toss it onto the table where he flipped both textbooks closed. He gave the notebooks a gentle push out of his way before his fingers latched back around her thigh and started to squeeze.
He inched backwards, pulling (Y/n) with him and turning her around so he could loop her thighs around his hips. He didn't exactly give her a choice and his baiting grin told her this was non-negotiable.
"I have a test tomorrow," (Y/n) leaned forward and smothered her face against his shoulder while her arms curved around the back of his neck. "I need to pass."
(Y/n) knew this test only counted for twenty-five percent of the final grade, but she still had to pass. She needed to pass so she didn't have to re-take the test or God forbid, redo some of this year again. Her grades were good, but her panic levels were even worse and (Y/n) was feeling the pressure. Everything had timed out perfectly thus far.
Meeting and falling for Evan, passing every class and each yearly test so she didn't have to retake anything. And now she was pregnant, her due date lined up with her graduation date. She could graduate before she had the baby. Get all her classes and tests out the way now while she was pregnant, graduate, and then college would be finished.
(Y/n) could have their baby, take some time and then find a job and start a new job alongside her new little family.
So that meant she had to graduate this year. She had to pass this test. She had to study.
"And you will, but you need to rest and go in with a clear head. Come on, we're off to bed." Both his hands slid beneath her scrunched up shirt so he could grip her bum as he pushed up to his feet and lifted her up with him.
He knew this was important, but he also knew that (Y/n) had been studying for long enough and she knew all the subsections she was going to be quizzed on tomorrow. She was prepared for this, but Evan needed her to come to bed and get some sleep so she was fully prepared and not going in feeling sick.
"I know, but-"
"No buts. You'll do great because you're my smart-ass girl. I'm off tomorrow so I'll drop you off and I'll pick you up. Eddie and Chris have invited us round for tea tomorrow, if you're up for it too."
He could feel (Y/n) grinning into his shoulder as he began walking them both up the stairs.
Since most of the class- and a few others on campus- had found out she was pregnant, curtesy of Sandra, (Y/n) had been anxious about going in. No one said anything, barely anyone glared or even looked at her like she thought they would. It wasn't like high school, there was no stigma attached to having a baby in college.
It was only the small cliché of girls in (Y/n)'s class that still thought she was doing this for a game.
But seeing how thrilled Evan was about having their baby dampened down (Y/n)'s nerves, and she felt better when he could drop her off. Especially if he could pick her up from class too. (Y/n) practically ran to the jeep to get away. It was like Evan had become her suit of armour.
As much as the girls wanted and loved to gossip, none of them said anything when they saw Evan waiting outside. (Y/n) felt brave enough to go to class and get through each lesson, knowing that when she left, most of the time, Evan was right there to pick her up.
"Sounds perfect."
“No! Absolutely not!” Grace snapped at Harry, stomping her foot like a Kindergartener who didn’t get their way. Harry grins at her display of frustration while crossing his arms over his chest, the sleeves around his biceps tightening. She doesn’t ever want to go undercover again, not after the last time. “You could ask literally anybody else.” She gestured out of the conference room window to their coworkers Gina and Kelly standing around the desk of a police officer, one whose name Grace didn’t remember. They’re discussing details of the most recent case before they go out to the latest crime scene.
“Yeah…but they don’t always fit the profile.” Harry argued back, then his smile grew. “You, however…you always fit the profile, bunny.”
She straightens, her mouth opening to speak before she quickly snaps it closed when she can’t gather her thoughts fast enough to answer. A heat swirls below her belt, one that she can’t blame on the Dallas climate. The weather was brutal, and to top it off, the air conditioning in the station was out. Stand up fans and box fans littered around the station only blew hot air around, not giving them any reprieve. She feels a bead of sweat trickle down her temple, her eyes trail over Harry, flicking to the three buttons of his shirt that were undone and showing just enough of his chest and the light sheen of sweat. She licks her bottom lip before pulling it between her teeth, her mind wandering. He looks like sex, standing there with his hands on his hips and his gun holstered on his belt. She imagines herself striding the short distance over to him and crashing her lips to his before dipping her head down and trailing her tongue over—
“Besides, I was just asking in case we did need to go undercover again, would you?” His voice pulls her from her daydream. She blinks the imagery from her mind, forcing herself back into the mindset she needs for this case.
“No. Final answer. Ask someone else.” She turns on her heel, walking out of the room before she can’t satiate the heat pooling between her thighs.
“Way to be a team player!” He yells from the doorway, causing heads to turn her direction. She doesn’t turn around, instead flipping her middle finger up towards him as she creates more distance between them. She rounds the corner, eyes falling to the floor as she makes her way to the breakroom. She grabs a water from the fridge, leaning against the counter before downing half of it. She breathes a heavy sigh, making a mental note to tell Aaron that she needed some time off after this case.
Grace and Harry haven’t been together since the case in Seattle. The martini’s she had that night forced her into a brief lapse of judgment, as gin usually did. Her clouded mind made her desire for a man who didn’t want her grow into something unfathomable. That night, after they left the room, Jesse made his move on Grace like they expected he would. His partner, the woman whose name they later found out was Margot, had cornered Harry when Grace went to retrieve her coat. Once Harry was distracted, Jesse followed Grace out the door and down the sidewalk, what he didn’t expect was Aaron to be following him as well. She knew Aaron wouldn’t let Jesse get too far, but she was still scared when he grabbed her from behind and dragged her into a dark alley. He put a knife to her throat and whispered in her ear about how she was a disgrace, pathetic and powerless for cheating on her fictional husband. She almost grabbed her gun from her coat pocket, but she wasn’t expecting Harry to be the one pulling her away, holding her to his chest as Aaron grabbed Jesse and put him in cuffs. And even though Grace wanted to be the one to do it, she found in that moment, that she didn’t care. She was just glad they got there before he slit her throat.
She shakes the traumatic memory from her mind, pressing the heels of her hands into her eyes. Maybe it was just the heat, or maybe it was the fact that this case was almost too similar. Except now their new suspect was targeting young married couples. They don’t have much to go on yet, but they knew they needed to act quickly. Grace turns information over in her head, thinking, trying her hardest to come up with some idea. The first couple found was assumed to be a murder-suicide, until the next couple showed up a week later with the same exact MO. They know he forced them to have sex before he kills them, but he makes them wear a condom. To them, it makes no sense. The couples are married, and why would he make them wear a condom if he was just going to kill them? He’s in control of the entire situation, making them comfortable before shooting them at point-blank range after the husband “finishes”.
She combs through the information over and over, forcing her mind to find any new angle that she can come up with but she fails. She rubs her sweaty palms over her jeans and walks back towards the main area of the station. Gathered around a whiteboard, Harry and Aaron are discussing possible motives with a few officers. Harry mentions their last case, the sex club and asks them if there's anything like that around this area. An idea sparks in Grace’s mind, and she makes her way to them.
“What if it’s a swinger community?” She blurts out and they turn to look at her, Harry raising an eyebrow.
“Nothing we have suggests that.” Harry mutters and her nostrils flare, because of course he would be arguing with her. That’s what he does best.
“Nothing suggests another sex club either, jackass.” She snaps at him, crossing her arms over her chest defensively. “How would he get them to even agree to go anywhere with him unless they were already open to the idea of having a third?” Harry’s eyes travel down to the V in her shirt, giving him a view of her chest that’s speckled red from heat before he rakes them over the curve of her hips. His eyes flick back to her face studying the baby hairs stuck to her temple with sweat while she talks. His jaw ticks once and he turns back to the whiteboard.
“I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that, Styles.” Aaron interjects, and Harry rolls his eyes, capping the marker he was holding and walking away. When no one shares his theories, he gets angry because he can’t piggyback onto them for defense. “I’m going to call Agent Morgan and Agent Jones, tell them to find out whatever they can about the swinger community in this area.” Grace nods, walking towards the door in hopes she can find any reprieve from the stuffy heat inside the station. Once outside, she leans against the building, running a hand over her forehead damp with sweat and swears under her breath. She could already tell it was going to be a long week.
By Wednesday, they were fed up. With the case, with the heat, and with each other. It was the hottest day of the week by far. They were shedding any layers they could while still maintaining modesty, but thankfully, the officers were understanding when they walked in to see the women in tanktops and the men with their buttons undone down their chests. They had it worse, and Grace felt sorry for them, always having to have a full uniform and heavy gear strapped to their belts. Grace flicks her gaze up from a file she was reading as Lieutenant Nathan Davis strides through the door of their conference room carrying a file. He smiles at her and she mirrors it back to him, everyone noticing that he’s taken a quick liking to her. Something she’s never been good at identifying.
“Hey, I think I have something here.” He says, laying the file of the most recent murder on the table before pulling over the one from the first. “Both husbands, they’re what one could consider “alphamales”. They go to the gym and work out relentlessly, they have high-power careers. People who knew them said they had kind of overbearing personalities.” He points out highlighted areas and Grace nods. Harry narrows his eyes.
“But they have no specific traits that make them similar. The women however…” He trails off, turning to look at the board with their pictures pinned up, and it was uncanny, the similarities between the two women. Once they noticed, an uneasy ambience settled over the room.
After a few hours, most of the team had checked out and gone to the hotel. The lieutenant was still in the conference room, sat next to Grace and attempting to make small talk while they worked. Harry’s eyes narrowed as he worked on the geographical profile, facing away from them as to not give away his expression.
“So, how's life in D.C? Is it as busy as everyone says it is?” Nathan asks her and she nods, eyebrows pulling together before she relaxes the muscle.
“It’s always busy. But it’s not so bad. I like it there, lots of history in that city. I’m into that sort of thing.” She answers as she highlights part of the coroner's report.
“I’ve been thinking about making a trip there. Maybe when I do we could get together.” He suggests and she grins.
“Oh for sure! I could show you the best museums.” She says, and looks back down at the report in front of her, not picking up on his flirting. Harry rolls his eyes, turning around to grab another push pin. He peeks up from his lashes, catching the way Nathan keeps flicking his eyes down to Graces lips, and the way he scoots his chair closer to her but she scoots away and creates a distance between them. He almost laughs, but covers it up with a cough causing the both of them to glance in his direction. He didn’t look up at them, instead turning to the board and putting the red pin in its rightful place, hiding his smirk from them.
Grace and Harry stayed at the station until the night dissipated into morning, the orange sun rising in the sky as the rest of their team made their way into the conference room. They relayed information, dismissing themselves to the hotel to get a few hours of sleep. Grace tried all night to have conversations with Harry but received one word responses or a cold shoulder in general and she was at her wits end by the time they were walking down the block towards the hotel.
They walked in silence, and Grace felt like she was running to keep up with Harry’s long strides, and it wouldn’t take an expert to see that he was tense. His expression was hardened and his fists were shoved deep into his pockets, eyes never straying from the path ahead of them. She swallows, opening her mouth to speak and before she can even get a word out he interrupts her.
“Don’t.” He warned, and her mouth snapped shut, looking down at the ground with a sigh.
“Noted.” she muttered under her breath, acknowledging he wasn’t in the mood to speak to her. She doesn’t know if he’s upset at her or frustrated with the case, but she decides on the latter because she can’t think of any reason why he would be angry at her.
They go their separate ways once they reach their floor, Harry going straight and Grace turning right off the elevator. She fumbles with the keycard, pushing the door open as soon as the light turns green and locking it behind her. She trudges to the bathroom, peeling off her clothes and taking the coldest shower she can stand, washing the sticky feeling sweat had left behind on her skin. Refreshed, she dresses into a more comfortable outfit and slips on a pair of shoes, deciding she was going to walk down the hallway and see if Harry wanted to get something to eat before they inevitably passed out from exhaustion.
She knocks once, and the door swings open. He’s standing there, towel wrapped around his hips with water dripping off the ends of his hair. He huffs, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms over his chest, the muscles in his arms popping at the position. She swallows the nervous lump in her throat as he stares at her, his gaze making her almost uncomfortable.
“I-I just wanted to check on you. It just seems like something is bothering you and I just wanted to see if—”
“See if what? If you could fix it?” He interrupts her, and she shakes her head in shock at his tone. “What if you’re what's bothering me? Then what, Grace?” He tilts his head, studying her, and it's almost condescending, the way he’s speaking to her.
“Whatever I did, I’m sorry, I don’t—”
“You think just because we fucked one time I’m going to be nice to you?” He stares at her with a hardened expression and she’s confused. She doesn’t understand the change in his mood, and he’s never spoken to her this way before. He stands there, looking down at her fiddling with her fingers and he almost caves. Almost. He needs to push her away, he doesn’t want her to get comfortable with him. The only way to do that is if he’s callous towards her so she’ll run away from him, then he’ll have his sanity back. Because the truth is terrifying to him, and since the moment he crashed his lips to hers in that club, the only thing he can think about is the way she tasted. They way she squeezed around his cock just right. The way she whimpered into his mouth when he thumbed over her clit. He’s craving her. But, he can’t face the feelings he has for her. He doesn’t want to admit that he was jealous watching Nathan flirt with her at the station…and Grace couldn’t tell he was wearing the mask that he’s become so comfortable behind.
“I just wanted to see if you were okay…and if you wanted to get breakfast since we were at the station all night…” Her voice trails off and she feels small under his patronizing stare, her eyes flicking down to her feet and the floor.
“You should go ask Lieutenant Nathan if he wants to get breakfast with you. The man already has a hard on for you and if you ask him he’ll probably cum in his pants.” He sneers and she snaps her head back up to him, he’s leaning against the doorframe, and she doesn’t know where this is even coming from.
“That’s what this is about?” She becomes defensive now, and she scoffs. “Are you jealous?” She laughs, a laugh laced with sarcasm and he grips his bicep, the muscle dimpling under his skin at the force. “That’s rich coming from you Harry, really. Just because a man is being nice doesn’t mean he’s flirting. And you have no right to be jealous even if he was.” Her breath is heavy with rage in her lungs, and his eyes flare with something she can’t quite pinpoint. She feels her cheeks redden from the anger taking over her conscience.
“You know, I don’t want to tiptoe around your feelings, Grace.” His voice is low, and her hands ball in fists at her sides. “You’re just…pathetic and helpless…like a little bunny.” The words come out before he can stop them, the same words Jesse used against her in that dark alley less than three weeks ago, and she visibly flinches, the fire in her eyes dying out. His flare for a moment longer before it dissipates and the reality of what he actually said hits him. His expression softens, and he reaches for her. She steps back, moving away from him like his touch would burn her. Her gaze hardens again, the heat behind her cheeks simmers.
“Fuck you, Harry.” The words fall from her lips, burning like venom and she storms away from him. Her steps come faster, and then she’s sprinting down the hall far, far away from him. No amount of distance feels like enough. The combination of tears falling down her cheeks and the wind from running cools her burning skin. Rounding the corner, she fumbles with her keycard as she reaches the door, her vision blurring making it hard to see the slot, but once she jams it in she throws the door open and shuts it behind her, leaning against it and sliding to the floor. She sobs, thinking of any reason why his words would affect her like this. He’s always been an asshole, always saying things to get under her skin…but none of them have ever hurt in this way.
Behind his door, Harry is pacing, running his hands through his hair and tugging at the root. He didn’t mean to let his anger take over, speaking for him in a moment like that. It was a terrible form of self-sabotage, the way he always let his emotions get the best of him. He wanted to go to her, apologize (something he never did), but he had a feeling he just fucked up any chance he had with her.
Grace had moved to the bed at some point, hugging her knees to her chest before she drifted into sleep. In her dreams, all she saw was the anger behind Jesse’s eyes when he grabbed her, her eyes close as Jesse gets close to her face, his words spitting from behind his lips, and when she opens them, it’s not Jesse holding her against the wall. It’s Harry.
She jolts awake, sitting up in the bed, pressing her fingers into her eyes to force the image of him away. She checks the time on her phone, jumping from the bed and throwing on an outfit that better suits her line of work. She straps her holster on her belt, walking out the door. She makes her way down the street to the station, going inside to find her team gathered in the conference room, minus Harry. She sighs with relief and finds a chair, joining in with conversation as Aaron informs them about new information pertaining to their case.
“We have found out that this man has to be married, there’s no way for him to get into the swinger parties without a partner. We don’t suspect the wife has anything to do with his crimes, or if she even knows he’s committing them.” Aaron pulls a chair out, sliding into it and his eyes move to movement coming through the doorway. Out her peripheral, Grace see’s Harry pull up a chair to the table.
“We want you to go undercover again, Grace.” He clears his throat once, and her eyes meet his. “You’re his type…as uncanny as that sounds.” Just like last time.
“Yeah, sure. Whatever.” she mutters, picking at her fingernails. Her mind wanders away from the conversation. Her teeth sunk into the skin of her lip, the metallic taste of her own blood meeting her tongue. She tried to stay out of her own mind, but it was hard when the only thing she thought about was if she would be in danger again. She feels Harry’s voice fading in through her thoughts as she forces her attention back to the conversation.
“...and I don’t think it’s a good idea for me and Grace to go undercover together again.” His eyes flick over to her momentarily before he looks back at Aaron.
“Well, I guess it could be—”
“I could do it.” A voice behind them speaks and they all turn to see Lieutenant Nathan standing in the doorway, holding a folder in his hands. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I just overheard the conversation. I’m willing to go in there, with Grace.” He looks at Harry once before going back to Aaron, then to Grace. “I’d just need a little bit of a rundown on what to do.” He says to her and she nods.
“Yeah. Yeah, of course.” She agreed. “I can give you the basics.” Her voice is low and he nods at her, and she stands, following him out the door.
Harry watches her go.
She’s nervous, she can’t deny it. Nathan holds her hand in his, fingers laced together as they stand in front of the mahogany door. He rings the doorbell, reminding himself of the backstory they decided on and straightens his posture. Grace fiddles with the earpiece tucked behind her hair, feeling like something is sticking out of place and poking her. She tries to ignore the feeling as she looks up at Nathan, waiting. The door opens and the hostess of the party smiles, making room for them to walk through the door. She introduces herself as Diana, and informs them of the rules for the night. She knows who they are and why they’re here, Aaron giving her a rundown when he called her into the station. She was sworn to secrecy, and more than willing to let them into her house to catch the man who was killing people she had considered friends.
She knew that Aaron and the rest of the team were set up down the road, sitting and waiting in their SUVs for the signal once the suspect was in their car with them and driving down the road to their secondary location. She felt a little bit of comfort knowing that they would arrest him before he even got the chance to hurt them, but she was still terrified after her situation with Jesse and she didn’t want to risk being put into another situation like that.
She felt Nathan's hand squeeze hers, silently reassuring her that he was here and he wouldn’t let anything happen to her…a stark contrast to the touch she received from Harry when they were in their similar situation. She was just thankful that she didn’t have to walk into this party wearing almost nothing. Her eyes flitted over the room of people, looking for anyone who fit their profile. He would be a little jittery, but nothing that would be noticeable to any unassuming person. He’s going to be someone people trust, someone who could easily lure them away. A familiar face in the crowd for the unsuspecting party goers.
Nathan rests his hand on the small of her back, pulling her to his side to show affection like a typical married couple would. He bends over, kissing her temple once and her cheeks heat from the gesture.
“You look really nice, by the way. I didn’t get to say that before we came in here.” He whispers in her ear and she looks up at him, giving him a small smile. She glances around the room once more, trying to put a face to their profile. She breathes in once, seeing a man chatting up a couple before his eyes glance around until they meet hers. A man with short, dark hair. About 5’7” in height. He takes a seat beside them on the couch, introducing himself as Steven Durst. He’s married to a woman named Billie, who’s also around the house somewhere he states. He doesn’t elaborate on much, only telling them he’s the manager of a hedge fund that deals with something outside of Grace’s realm of knowledge. She clocks his mannerisms, noticing the way his leg bounces up and down, and the way he chews on his lip. She notices his attention on her for the entirety of the conversation he’s having with Nathan.
She excuses herself to the bathroom, walking down the hall and slipping behind the safety of the door, locking it behind her.
“Aaron, I think we have our guy. Steven Durst.” She speaks quietly to him and her voice comes through the walkie he has in the cupholder between him and Harry. He relays the message to the police department, and they have a file on this guy in a matter of seconds. He looks over to Harry in the passenger seat, tense and looking out the window into the distance. His brows are furrowed together but he doesn’t say anything to him.
All Harry has heard for the past thirty minutes is Nathan complimenting and flirting with Grace and it’s making him resentful of a man he doesn’t even know. He’s staring at nothing, thinking about how he should be the one in there with her, he shouldn’t have backed down from the job when he was asked.
His thoughts race but he’s pulled from them when he hears the click of the gear shift as Aaron puts the car in drive. They follow the car that Grace is in with their suspect, and he swears he’ll kill this one if he even thinks of touching her. They drive for what feels like forever, keeping their distance a few cars back as they hear Steven Durst through the earpiece saying sinful things, things Harry could never think of and implicating himself. He feels his anger bubbling in his chest at the thought of this disgusting person saying these vile things to Grace. His Grace.
Whatever happens next is a blur to him. They pull into the parking spot beside Nathan’s car and Harry pulls Steven from the back seat before Steven can even get his gun from his waistband. He pulls it out for him, chucking it into the grass and putting the man in handcuffs. He pushes him over to Aaron, who takes hold of the chain between the locks and walks him to a police car. Grace walks away, going to the other car and not the one Harry came in and jumping in the backseat without so much as a glance in his direction. He drops his hands to his sides, defeated before getting back into the passenger seat and sitting in silence as they make their way back to their hotel.
Grace is brushing her teeth when she hears a loud banging on her door, and whoever it is sounds impatient as they persistently bang their fist against the metal. She looks at herself once in the mirror before going to look through the peephole. Standing on her tiptoes, she sees Harry standing there, unable to read his expression because his head is tilted towards the floor as he waits for her to open the door. She sighs heavily, debating on whether or not she should open it…but then he bangs his fist again and she’s had it.
“What the fuck do you want?” She sneers as she opens it and he doesn’t acknowledge her, just storms his way into her room right past her. She lets go of the door, allowing it to close as she follows him deeper into the room. She sees him standing with his back towards her. “Hello? You can’t just barge in here like—”
“You’re a real piece of work, Grace.” He laughs, but it's not one of humor. He turns to face her, and his pupils are blown. She knows that look. It’s the same look he gave her in that private room of the club. The one she saw when he was driving his cock into her deeper than anyone else has ever reached. And even though she’s still angry, she can’t help the heat that swirls in her chest and travels straight to her thighs.
“What now, Harry? Please enlighten me.” Her sarcasm has him shaking his head, running his tongue over his bottom row of teeth before he answers.
“Think I liked listening to that fucker flirt with you all night? Trying to win you over with a cheesiness that would make any sane person cringe.” He states and she narrows her eyes at him.
“Aaron asked you if you would—”
“No. You were pissed at me, and that would’ve given us away too quickly.” He interrupts and she rolls her eyes.
“Okay, then you have no reason to be mad when you declined the offer.” She crosses her arms, and his eyes trail over her body. Her shirt that was oversized and dropped just down to her thighs, thighs he wanted wrapped around his waist more than anything else. “For the record, I’m still pissed. Now leave.” She points to the door and he smirks.
“Do you really want me to though?” He slowly closes the distance between them, and she retreats away until her back meets the wall. He cages her head between his arms, head dipping to her line of vision. His lips are so close that she could pucker and they would touch. She keeps them in a thin line, not wanting to give away her guise. He nudges her nose with his. “He’s not me.”
“Maybe that’s what I like about him.” Her words come out breathless, her voice betraying her. Her lips brush his as she speaks and he hums.
“Y’know…ever since Seattle, can’t stop thinking of the little noises you make, the way you squeeze around me when you cum. The feeling of your fingers twisting in my hair…You ruined me for anyone else, bunny.” He mutters and she whimpers, her eyes fluttering closed. He pulls away. “But, call Nathan. Tell him to come fuck you.” He drops his arms, moving towards the door but she grabs his bicep before he can get too far.
“No. Want you.” She assures him and he surges forward, lips crashing into hers as he captures her face in his hands. And it’s blissful, the way his tongue dances with hers. She whimpers again into his mouth as he fists the hair at the nape of her neck. He trails his hands down her body, tapping her hips once and she jumps, he catches her on the back of her thighs as she wraps her legs around his waist. He carries to the bed, the kiss never faltering. She wraps her arms around the back of his neck as he lays her down. He pulls away momentarily as he pushes her shirt up, exposing her body to him and he lets out a groan, his head dropping to her chest as he pulls the shirt over her head. He wants nothing more than to taste her and have her squirming and shaking just from his tongue lapping at her. She watches him admiring her body, knowing he’s just taking her time to make her beg, make her needy like he wanted her to be the first time.
The heat between her thighs grows and he drops to his knees at the edge of the bed, hooking his arms under her thighs and pulling her to the edge of the bed. He drags his lips lightly up the skin of her inner thighs before his hot breath blows over her clit and makes her buck her hips upwards towards him. She whines and he backs away, creating distance.
“Let me take my time, Grace.” His voice is sweet and honeyed, making her breath catch in her throat. She almost argues, but before she can get a word out his tongue drags through her folds and flicks her clit and she lets out a moan so loud her neighbors would think she’s watching porn. He hums with satisfaction as his mouth closes around her and the vibrations send waves of pleasure straight down her spine.
“Taste so sweet, bunny. Never gonna be able to give you up.” He mutters against her and her hands find his hair, grabbing and fisting as she pulls his head back to her. He licks and sucks at her clit, eating her like a man starved and his name falls from her lips between moans over and over, bringing her closer to release. She glances down as his eyes come up to look at her. He smirks and lets his eyes flutter closed, getting lost in her and she doesn’t think she can hold on any longer.
“H-harry. Gonna cum.” She breathes out and her chest heaves as her breaths become labored.
“I know, sweet girl. Let go for me.” His encouraging words mixed with him pushing two fingers into her is all it takes. He pumps his fingers, hooking and curling finding just the right spot, and she tumbles over the ledge, crying his name over and over as he works her through it. He comes back up to her, kissing her and tasting herself on his tongue is the most erotic she’s ever felt.
“Please.” She begs against his lips and he doesn’t waste any time pulling his heavy cock out of his pants and stripping his shirt off his torso. Her nails rake down his chest and he pumps once with his hand before lining up with her entrance, dragging the head of his cock through her arousal. He pushes in slowly, dropping his head to her shoulder as he groans. He stills once he’s fully inside her, allowing her to adjust to him. She grips onto his biceps as he pulls out to the tip and slowly goes back in. He moans against her skin, sinking his teeth into her shoulder and her eyes flutter closed, feeling every ridge and every vein. He brings his forehead to meet hers, lips enveloping hers as he pushes in and pulls out, and she knows he's holding back.
“More. Please.” She whines against his mouth and he fulfills her request, picking up his pace as he sits up, pulling her legs over his shoulders and somehow he hits deeper than he already has. She cries out again, bringing her hand to her mouth to stifle her moans of pleasure. He grabs her wrist, pulling her hand away and shakes his head.
“No. Wanna hear those pretty noises, bunny.” His voice is low and breathy, hips smacking against hers and her eyes flutter closed. He doesn’t relent, keeping his pace and trailing his thumb over her open lips before pressing it against her tongue. She wraps her lips around it, pulling it further into her mouth and swirling her tongue around it. He groans, the image of her on her knees and taking him down her throat on his mind.
“Nobody but me, Grace. Nobody can fuck you like I do.” He says between gritted teeth and she looks up at him with round eyes, his thumb pulling her jaw open and she whines. “You’re mine.” She nods.
“Yours. Only yours.” She says between breaths. His movements begin to falter at her willingness to comply with his words.
“Fuck.” he curses under his breath, letting her legs fall from his shoulder and bending over her as he drives into her. She clenches around him, willing him to come inside her again, craving the feeling it left her with. “Such a good girl.” He mutters against the valley between her breasts. His tongue darts out, licking a stripe up to her neck and pulling her skin between his teeth. His hand comes between their bodies and he presses his thumb against her already sensitive bud. Her hips buck against his hand, and he rubs small circles with light pressure.
“One more, bunny. Need you to give me one more. Know you can.” His movements grow sloppy and her eyes squeeze shut and pleasure sends her brain into a frenzy. The coil snaps and she’s a mess of whining and moaning his name over and over. He follows her as she squeezes around him, his cock twitching as he releases and he holds himself up on wobbly arms.
They lay there for a few minutes, catching their breath and he strokes his thumb over her temple and pushes her hair away from her face. She smiles at him, dazed from the high she’s still coming down from. Their hearts pound in synchrony behind their ribs and he pulls out of her, leaving her feeling empty.
He rolls onto his back beside her, pulling her to his side and holding her for a moment, something he didn’t get to do after the first time, and it was something he thought about every day since then, wanting to shower her with affection afterwards. He nudges her forehead with his nose and he brings his lips to plant a light kiss on the bridge of her nose.
“Only you, Grace.” He says and she smiles. “Only you.”
can we see what christmas is like with eddie, reader and roan? 🫶
the munson family and their pre christmas priorities ♡ (step)mom!reader, 1k
“I'm sick of being a dad,” Eddie says. “I'm done. You're going to live with your Uncle Wayne.”
Roan roars with laughter, her hair dusting the floor, her t-shirt dipping down to expose her chubby belly where she hangs from Eddie's hands. “Dad, pick me up!”
“I'm Eddie now to you.”
“I'm,” —she cackles— “sorry! Pick me up!”
Eddie gives her a last good shake before gently lowering her to the floor. She's all flushed cheeks and big eyes, her hair a riot around her head as she wipes stray strands from her mouth. “I'm sorry, daddy,” she says, pouting, her thin brows rising up her forehead. “Don't be mad.”
“I'm furious.”
“No, you're not! You're not angry, dad, you're smiling.”
Eddie forces his lips into a deep frown. “I told you to keep her in line!”
You huff from your place by the Christmas tree. “Give it up, Eds. Santa doesn't come for grown ups, I already told you that.” You place a final small gift atop the small mountain of silver-wrapped boxes and straighten it to perfection. “So I have to make sure you get what you deserve.”
“What was I s'posed to do?” Roan asks, sitting up. Her pyjamas are just a little too big, the shirt falling to her thighs and the pants covering her toes.
“Restrain her,” Eddie says, grabbing Roan under the arms to help her onto her feet. “Let me roll your pants up, babe.”
“I shrank in the night,” she says.
Eddie smooths her hair out of her face as he kneels in front of her. “You're so funny. Santa will bring you all kinds of new pyjamas tomorrow, he told me. But don't tell him I told you.”
“Did you get me anything?” Roan asks.
If only she knew. “Yeah, we got you some gifts too. But we're gonna put them out when Santa does, okay?”
“Okay.” She beams. Eddie pulls her pants from under her little feet to roll the hems up, worried she'll slip and smash her face on the wood floors.
“You're excited,” Eddie says, moving to her second leg, “I can feel you vibrating like a dog.”
“Woof,” she says, wrapping her arms around his neck. She's in a very cuddly mood tonight.
“Oh, what a beautiful puppy I have. She's so cute.” He hugs her lightly, black curls trapped either side of them. Eddie sits back on his calves and she lets herself fall into his lap. “What kind of puppy are you? A poodle?”
“No, I wanna be a dalmatian!”
“Of course,” he hums, stroking her hair. “How could I forget? You love damn-nations.”
You stand up from the tree to poke at them with your foot. “Can we have hot chocolate now?”
“Yeah!”
“Puppy's can't have chocolate,” Eddie says, encouraging Roan back to tuck her hair behind her ears. “So you'll have to be human Ro again.”
She sighs forlornly. “Okay.”
You make your way into the kitchen, paper chains hanging in the doorway and snowflake stickers holographic against the dark window. It's only 5PM, but the sun has firmly set, leaving the outside world in total darkness. You flick on the kitchen light and immediately head to the stove to heat the stove top kettle where it’s lived this last month on the back hob. “Milk, please?” you ask.
Eddie's already in the fridge. He passes you the milk, ignoring the mounds of foil wrapped meats and cheeses, his stomach aching in longing. “One more sleep,” he says, hooking a pint of milk on his pinky.
Roan attempts to climb your legs. You pick her up and put her on the counter, shielding her from the stove with your body. “What's for dinner?” she asks you.
“How about soup?” you ask. When Roan wrinkles her nose, you add, “With croutons? We could have yummy vegetable soup with crispy croutons.” Still wrinkled. “Or we could have tomato soup and grilled cheese?”
“With extra cheese?” Roan asks.
“Sure, princess. Lots and lots of cheese.”
Eddie opens the kettle. “What was in here?”
“Milk last night, but I already washed it. I knew we'd be having more hot chocolate,” you say, words shaped by your smile as Roan pulls you in for a hug. “It's so cold, huh, baby.”
“My nose is cold.”
“I can feel it!”
Eddie pours the entire pint of milk into the kettle. It'll be just enough for all three of you to have a full mug, and if he uses the big mugs there'll be no risk of overflow once the whipped cream and marshmallows have been added.
The milk doesn't need to boil, only warm. While it's heating he takes the hot chocolate powder from the cupboard and throws in a couple of heaping spoonfuls. The milk quickly turns a rich brown.
“Should I put some real chocolate in there too?” Eddie asks.
“Duh, dad!” Roan says.
You second her agreement more kindly, “Yes! Definitely yes. It's always best with the real stuff too.” You rub Roan's shoulders. “Yeah?”
Eddie's getting jealous, honestly. He ignores you both, shutting the lid on the kettle and easing his way between your arm and Roan's. “Let me in,” he demands.
You curl an arm behind his back. When you look up into his face, you couldn't look more in love. There's a shine to your eyes, a reverence he can't miss, and he's expecting your compliment before you give it.
“Hi, gorgeous,” you say, kissing the side of his chin.
He drops his head onto yours and pulls Roan in as close as he can without knocking her off of the counter. The air has already begun to smell of chocolate, though the smell of honeyed ham lingers. Roan herself smells like no tears shampoo. Eddie sniffs you curiously.
“Stop sniffing me.”
“What do you smell like?”
“Nothing. I'm not wearing any perfume.”
You smell like yourself. He can't explain it, but he likes it, hiding his nose in the seam of your hairline.
Roan cracks first, pushing you both away. “How long will it take?”
“Any minute now,” Eddie says, kissing your cheek before pulling away. “Let me get that chocolate.”
“You didn't put the chocolate in? Dad.”
With the new season and not only Alessia missing from the Manchester United crew, but many of her friends having changed clubs, it was tough for the brunette and it was hard on her mind.
You were her rock. She loved knowing that she could lean on you if she ever needed to – a realization that had not come easy to her.
But this week was different, and you both knew it. It was yet another Sunday and Manchester United would meet Manchester City in a derby. This alone was another level of stress, there would be a huge upturn to the game with fans being very dedicated to their respective teams.
But the worst thing for Ella? You could not be there.
It was your grandma’s eightieth birthday and with her being very sick, your family never knew how much longer they had with her. You had asked Ella if she wanted to join you because then you would try to convince the rest of the family to push it to Monday – but your girlfriend insisted that she would be fine and that she wanted you to have a nice day with your family.
During dinner you tried to check your phone as often as you could, trying to stay updated on how your girlfriend’s team was doing. Seeing the 2-0 to Manchester City before the halftime break was hard, knowing how much Ella would blame herself, looking for mistakes in herself. Being the ‘worlds-best girlfriend’ as Ella crowned you, was not easy – but you decided to shoot her a quick text during the break.
‘Hello Gorgeous! Keep ya head up – cannot wait to see you tonight. I love you so much.’
It was sappy, but you knew that the young lioness loved it even if she would deny it till the day she died.
You arrived home before Ella did – so you made dinner.
Ella’s comfort food, knowing that she would not take the 3-0 loss easy. Some leftover cake was chilling in the fridge, waiting for dessert.
But it was getting later and later by the second – without Ella showing up at your shared home. You had texted Katie Zelem oven an hour ago, asking if she was with her and if they had plans for the night. The Manchester United captain however could not help you with your search for your girlfriend – telling you that Ella had left in her car as soon as she could.
By now you were incredibly hungry, having waited for the brunette for three hours seated on the couch, preparing lessons for the following day. At some point, you had turned the stove off and put everything in Tupperware placing it next to the cake in the fridge.
After waiting for a while longer, you started writing a little note to your girlfriend that you placed where she stored her bag so that she would definitely see it. ‘I was tired. ‘Dinner is in the fridge – cake too. Love you!’
You had already gotten ready for bed and nearly fallen asleep when you heard the front door fall shut. With slow steps, you trotted down the steps “Ella?” But you did not get an answer.
With your note in hand, your girlfriend stood in the kitchen. You tripped over her shoes that she had just flung onto the floor, the entryway being a complete mess. Bag in one direction, shoes in another – her jacket just in the middle of the ground. “Baby?”
She had her back turned to you, hands balled to fists by her side, your note crumbled in of them. There still was no reaction. You had gotten closer now, resting your hand on her back, trying to comfort her – but she shrugged you off. “Couldn’t have waited for me huh? First, you don’t show up for my game and then you don't even wait for me!”
Sure, she usually had a loud voice, but now she was just yelling into your face. Ella had turned around with so much force, that she had pushed you back a little. “I’m sorry baby but I was at my grand-“
“I don’t care! You should put me first! We lost because of you and your selfishness!” Tears were quickly making their way to your eyes, mirroring the brunette's bloodshot ones.
She clearly was not herself right now, so you tried to avert her attention. “Do you want me to heat up dinner?” A sharp scoff left you flinching back once she ripped the fridge open.
“No need – you didn’t even wait for me. Already ate huh? What a nice day. Leaving your girlfriend hanging, visiting your stupid family, and eating alone. How fun.” Her words hurt, she spat at you with such anger that it terrified you.
You had never thought that you would fear Ella. But the usually bubbly and funny girl was not herself right now. “And what are you wearing? Always stealing my shit! Don’t you have clothes for yourself?”
Tears were running down your cheeks as you looked at your mirror image in the dark window. You were wearing one of Ellas' big shirts – she usually loved seeing you in her clothes, even making you change out of your own so that you could wear hers.
“I think I will just go to bed baby. Maybe you will have calmed down tomorrow.” Your feet were already on the stairs as you heard her muttering “Sure. Just leave me like you always do.”
It hurt, so much. You opted for the guest bedroom, leaving the brunette in the comfort of your joined room. Once upon a time, you had thought that maybe, just maybe this room could be used for your future child.
If there even was a joined future.
But you were determined to work at what was wrong – not wanting to throw everything away just like that. But Ella did not even enter the bedroom, she left again, the door falling into place behind her as you heard the car start outside.
Just as a precaution, you texted Katie as well As Mary and Millie – explaining to them that Ella was in a bad mood and to please tell you if she showed up at their place so that you knew that she was safe.
It was Mary who was the last to answer, telling you that your girlfriend was at her home.
Now that you had time to settle, the anger set in. So instead of sleeping like intended, you sorted your clothes – taking every single piece of clothing that you had from Ella, folding it neatly, and setting it down on her side of the bed.
As much as you wanted to, you couldn’t just hide her training gear – placing everything neatly in place. As angry as you were that Ella took her own anger out on you, you could never deliberately do something that could hurt her career.
The dinner in the fridge that neither of you had eaten was turned into your lunch at school – your students excitedly asking about it.
Ella meanwhile had gotten her brainwashed by Mary as she crashed on her couch – the goalkeeper refusing to give her teammate the guest bedroom.
The brunette knew that she had messed up.
Your joined home was empty when she came back in the morning. Her chaos was gone, as was the food in the fridge – once entering the bedroom she saw all her clothes. The clothes she loved to see you in.
Her heart broke even further. How could she hurt you like that?
After allowing herself to cry for a couple of minutes, hugging your pillow close to her your note from the night before tightly pressed to her chest, she took a shower and started to prepare.
It was groveling time.
It was still much too early to start dinner for when you came home, so she started with her folded clothes. The brunette put them back into the closet – your side of it. She didn’t want you to stop wearing them.
After that she started the already full dishwasher and washing machine in the time those were running, she started to remove the stains on the couch that you had been complaining about forever now. After emptying the dishwasher and starting the dryer, Ella turned to your most neglected room – your office.
The desk was a mess and there were papers all over the room. She started with sorting the papers – art projects of your students into one folder, and vocabulary tests that you had yet to grade in another one.
After a while she had made a good dent into your chaos – so that she could actually see the table again. It took her two hours until she considered the room as done – putting the vacuum back in its rightful place.
The time on the clock nearly gave her a heart attack – it was time to start dinner and prepare her speech.
Entering your home felt like entering the lion’s den – and you hated it.
The smell of dinner was overwhelming. You did not know what you had been expecting but fresh flowers, cooked dinner, and a cleaned house were not what you had in mind.
It seemed like Ella knew that she had seriously messed up.
“Hello, Ella.”
The brunette at the stove turned around at the speed of light at your voice – not having heard you walk in. “Hi, baby.”
The smile on her face was hesitant but seeing you, without steam coming out of your ears seriously calmed her down. “I think I have something to make up to you.”
It did not take a trained eye to see just how nervous the footballer was – but being her girlfriend certainly helps. “I think you do – but before you start, I would like to hear that you’re sorry and what made you act that way.”
Big eyes looked at you – head nodding so fast that you doubted that Ella could actually see clearly. It was safe to say, that you were spoiled for the evening – Ella making sure that you could not stay mad at her with everything in her power.
b/n = brother's name
You stared in awe as you approached the mansion.  It was by far the largest house you had ever seen.  You looked to your brother and he only smiled.  It seems he was adjusting to the shift in your lives much faster than you.
He had only begun working for Jordan a couple months ago when rent was tight and there was barely any food in the fridge.  You had just moved in with him to help cut costs for the both of you as you sunk deeper into student loans and edged barely closer to your degree.  If things couldn’t get any worse, your brother was laid off from his job out of nowhere. He began interviews for practically every job on Wall Street when your luck changed tremendously.  He landed a job at Stratton Oakmont.
He climbed the ranks quickly.  You and your brother had quite a unique charisma, one that allowed you to manipulate many social situations in your favor and it was no different at Stratton.  With his charm and hard-working attitude, your brother was one of the few to have a personal connection with the founders of the company and he could feel that promotion coming.  But it was just out of reach.  So he quickly enlisted you to give him a little push.
There was an obvious shift in your lifestyle as soon as your brother got the job.  He was able to provide for the both of you plus decorate the apartment and take you out to lavish dinners.  Life just seemed so much brighter for the both of you.  So you would do anything to keep your lives like this.  Even if it meant playing this part.
It was the first time you’d be attending one of Stratton’s famous parties.  Your brother let you hang off his arm, dolled up in a completely brand new designer outfit, just how Jordan liked it.  Your dress was as short as it could be without being socially unacceptable and your neckline plunged so deep that your tits were nearly popping out.  Your heels were custom made and reeled in your flashy dress to make it a classy look.  Your make-up was done to a tee, emphasizing the soft features of your face, and your hair was curled into perfect waves.  Even your brother, who had teased you all your childhood, agreed you were a sight for sore eyes.  There was no way you wouldn’t catch Jordan’s attention.
Everything seemed to fall into place as you entered.  Eyes were on you from the moment you stepped inside, men in suits turning their heads to gape while their wives and girlfriends knocked them on the back of the head for looking.  You smiled just as you had rehearsed in the mirror and strutted as elegantly as you could muster even if you had to relearn to walk in those tall heels.
Most of the men you passed patted your brother on the shoulder in greeting, eyeing you up in the process.  Your brother had to reiterate several times that you were his sister, hoping he’d be able to avoid any risque comments about the two of you for the night.
You hid your excitement at the expensive environment, causally downing a champagne flute from a server, while you soaked up the extravagance of the house and the people.
It wasn’t long before your brother elbowed you in the side.
“Look, right over there,” he said, nodding his head to the left.  “That’s Jordan.”
When you looked, he was already staring back at you.  He leaned against the giant glass windows of the living room, a mystery drink in his hand.  He was wearing a suit but several of the buttons of his button up were undone, exposing his chest.  His hair was messy and his eyes were bloodshot.  While he was a little sleazier than you expected, you shouldn’t have been surprised considering the insane stories your brother had told you about his addictions to sex and drugs.
He was surrounded by a group of men who you could only assume were the founding members of the company.  They had noticed you from a mile away and you could faintly hear them talking about you and how badly they wanted to fuck you.  One even said he’d fuck you even if you were his sister.  You pretended not to notice as they shoved Jordan playfully, egging him on to approach you.  For the Wolfie to handle you, as they put it.
He confidently half-smiled at you before shifting his shoulders, fixing his suit jacket.  He sloppily ran his hand through his hair before he began walking toward you.  He sauntered arrogantly, as if he already had you in the palm of his hand, and his eyes ran all over you though he tried his best to hide it.
“B/N!  Good to see you,” Jordan exclaimed, stretching his hand out to give your brother a firm handshake.
“Hi, Jordan, great party,” your brother said with a smile.
“Yeah,” he dismisses your brother, his eyes quickly turning onto you.  “Now don’t be rude and introduce me to this lovely lady you’ve got here,” he said, nodding toward you, a smile stretching across his lips.
“This is my sister, Y/N.”
“Aah,” he sighs, his face lighting up with excitement.  “Sister,” he repeats, grinning widely.
“I just wanted to bring her along and show her what a Stratton party’s all about.”
“Nice to meet you, Jordan” you say, in a honey-sweet voice, showing your pearly whites.  You can tell he’s already hypnotized as you look up at him through your fluttering eyelashes with doe eyes.  You extend your hand toward him with the graceful flick of your wrist and he holds it so delicately.
“Nice to meet you, Y/N,” he says, lifting your hand to his lips and leaving a gentle kiss on the back of your hand.  Your smile widens accordingly as he refuses to let go of your soft skin.
“You know, you’ve got a really great place here.  I don’t think I’ve ever been in a house this big before,” you say, your eyes flicking up to the enormous glass chandelier above you that would certainly kill everyone in the room if it ever came crashing down.  You ignored that thought and looked back into his star-struck eyes with an excited gaze.
“Oh, really?” He raised his eyebrows, enjoying himself too much.
“Yeah,” you say, nodding along.
You wouldn’t have called him unattractive but he wasn’t really your type.  Either way you’d let him have one freaky night with your body in return for a large check deposited in your brother’s bank account.  You hoped he was a good lay but your instincts were telling you otherwise.
He shooed your brother away to go talk to some of the other guys while he entertained you, talking himself up and offering you several compliments.  It was when he stepped closer to you that his wife noticed the two of you from across the room.  She was sipping on her champagne and gossiping in a huddle of powerful wives when you caught her eye, your hand holding her husband’s for way too long.
She was no fool, she saw the way he looked at you, like he wanted to devour you.  She remembered that dangerous glint in his eyes from when she had first met him at a party like this one.  And we all know how that went.
She was ready to cause a scene, to impulsively confront him in the large crowd and beat him senseless with a glass bottle for even looking at another woman.  But something distracted her.
She had the perfect view of you from the side as you moved your free hand across your lower back.  Then your hand moved lower, lower, lower, gliding across your ass, smoothing out the fabric of your tight dress.  Naomi’s eyes were fixed.  Finally your fingers pulled lightly on the hem of your dress, trying to bring it down as it had rode up a little too high, showing off most of your bare thighs.
That’s when she stopped herself and decided to give you a closer look.  And that’s also when she realized she was no better than her husband.
You weren’t like any of the other women Jordan flirted with.  No, you were flawless.  Her eyes examined your figure and noticed how every curve of your body was carved so smoothly, so perfectly that she couldn’t look away.  She could only imagine the way your skin would feel beneath her fingers; she assumed it was soft and pliable. She imagined how each arch of your body would fit perfectly into her hands like you were molded just for that reason.  She wanted to admire you for the rest of the night. And it felt like you were enticing her, like you were asking for her touch in that low-cut dress.  It wasn’t hiding much but still, Naomi wished she could see more.
She realized that she could barely blame her husband for his reaction.  Your beauty was baffling and undeniable.  What could she expect from Jordan, a man who couldn’t hide his desires nearly as well as she could hide hers.
For a moment your eyes strayed away from his and you glanced in Naomi’s direction.  Your hand carelessly brushed your hair back and Naomi was slightly mesmerized.  She sucked her lips into her mouth, imprinting the features of your face into her mind, forgetting which reality she was in.
Her stomach churned, her body telling her brain that her need for you was innate.  The way your lips curved into a pure smile and your eyes were full of light made her want to ruin you.   She wanted to whisk you off to some far away place to have you only for herself.  She wanted to melt away that pretty facade and see what lurked beneath your shiny surface.
It was impossible for her to restrain her own thoughts as just a single look at you brought up such deep, impure desires.  She was no better than a man but you made her like that.
Her chest burns as Jordan leans impossibly closer to you, whispering something in your ear.  You giggle delightfully, comfortably holding on to his shoulder.  He takes that as a sign to wrap his arm around your waist, practically engulfing you with his body while his lips stay uncomfortably close to your ear.
Naomi couldn’t believe the audacity of her husband to throw himself onto you in public.  No, you deserved much better than to be smothered in sweat and cologne in front of all these important people.  You deserved someone who would treat you right and then, behind closed doors, someone who would treat you so wrong.  She knew her husband couldn’t do any of that for you.  You didn’t deserve him.
By then she had placed her glass onto a table with a little too much force and allowed her feet to carry her across the room.  She straightens up the neckline of her dress and clicks her heels into the ground with a purpose.  You deserved her.
“Jordan!” a thick Brooklyn accent cuts through the air.
It surprises you slightly but it seems to shock Jordan into action as he abruptly pulls away from you.  You’re left awkwardly standing alone as he steps back from you.  Your hands clutch onto the sides of your thighs for comfort.
“Naomi!  Baby!” he exclaims, outstretching his arms to the blonde thundering toward you.  He puts on a large smile and leans back comfortably as if he wasn’t just all over you.
She doesn’t accept his embrace but swats his hands away from her.  She moves to stand at his side.
“You gonna introduce me to your little friend here?” she says, motioning toward you with one of her hands.  Her voice is laced with an attitude that scares you.  You’re not quite sure if it's venomous but it’s definitely strong.  She turns to face you and plants her hands firmly on her hips.
“Oh, uh, yeah,” he stutters, looking nervously between the two of you.  “This is Y/N.  And Y/N-”
“I’m Naomi, Jordan’s wife,” she cuts him off.
You had heard stories about Naomi, about how her beauty transcended time, but you sure as hell weren’t expecting the masterpiece that stood before you.  You were rendered speechless for a moment, staring stupidly at her, your lips slightly parted.
Long blonde hair trailed down her shoulders, barely covering her thick gold hoop earrings.  Her face looked like it was sculpted by the gods, with a jawline sharper than a knife and pink lips that pursed curiously at you.  Her tight baby blue dress with a perfect cleavage cutout matched her blue eyes lined with thick eyeliner.
You couldn’t fathom how Jordan could cheat on her.  She was probably the most perfect human you had seen in your entire life.  And here you were trying to seduce her husband.
Her eyes aggressively ran up and down your body, soaking up every last drop of you.  They held some dark emotion behind them.  Using the context of the situation you assumed it was jealousy but she knew it was lust.  It was the first time that night you felt so small and so flustered, your confident facade fading away.
You hoped it wasn’t showing on your face but from the way her lips quirked upward as she extended her hand, you could tell she was enjoying your agitated state.
“Hi, Naomi,” you said, speaking a little quieter than you had with Jordan before.  You accepted her hand, expecting a tense shake, but her grip was even gentler than her husband’s.  In fact, her hands were the softest you had ever held.
She copied Jordan’s movements, just more delicately.  She brought your hand to her lips, leaning slightly forward to give the back of your hand a chaste kiss.  Her eyes didn’t leave yours the entire time, making your stomach bubble in forbidden arousal.  The gesture felt so intimate, as if no one else was watching.
If you weren’t in awe before, you were hypnotized now.  Her beauty was ethereal and from the way she handled you, you began to question her intentions with you.  Your perception of her as the jealous wife was slowly fading into the background.
If Jordan wasn’t your type, his wife surely was.
He looked between the two of you, completely unsure of what to say.  It seemed he was in quite a pickle as it seemed his wife’s unpredictable behavior would soon get in the way of his endeavors with you.
“You know, you’re a cute one, doll,” she said, her tongue slightly poking through her teasing smile.  Her strong accent only made every word out of her mouth even sexier, especially that pet name.  Doll.  You’d love to be her doll.
You felt your face heat up and your eyes ever so slightly widen.  You attempted to ignore the arousal you felt beneath your dress as your nails dug anxiously into the fabric of your dress.  You momentarily wondered whether you should thank her for the compliment before deciding against it.  Each reaction out of you only pushed her to continue, to test your limits.
“I almost don’t blame my husband for looking at you the way he does,” she said, her eyes momentarily shifting to your cleavage before focusing on the small twitches of your face again.
You took a sharp breath and opened your mouth wider like you wanted to respond and apologize but Jordan beat you to it.
“Come on, baby.  You know I only have eyes for you,” he whines and pouts like a child, leaning closer to her and wrapping an arm around her waist.  She instantly pushes him off of her, disgusted by his touch, without sparing him a glance.
All you want to do is walk away and distance yourself from this married couple’s petty quarrel but your feet seem too heavy to move.  You can’t help but love the way Naomi looks at you.
“But I can assure you he’s no fun,” she says, ignoring her husband’s pleading looks.   “Very vanilla, you know?  And he comes too fast.”  She whispers that last part like he’s not even there although he can clearly hear her.
Both you and Jordan share the same state of shock.  You can’t help but feel like you’re learning too much information about the couple you met a few minutes ago.  But the way Naomi speaks to you it feels like you’ve known her much longer.
“Uh, I-I’m sorry-” you begin but are quickly interrupted.
“Myself on the other hand,” she says, trailing off for a few moments.  She presses her lips together as if she’s looking through you, her thoughts taking her to far away places.  The glint in her eye is mischievous and you want her to take you with her.  “We can have lots of fun together.”
Your insides are screaming the moment the words leave her lips, her devilish smile only making the feeling worse.  You can only dream about what she’s implying and your imagination runs wild. You’re already putty in her hands, you both can feel it.
“What’d you say, you wanna be friends?” she says, her tone seemingly innocent.  But one look in those blue eyes would say otherwise.
“Friends?” you ask breathlessly.  You let your head hang low and your bottom lip push out toward her, silently questioning the meaning of the word.
“Yeah,” she says, smiling brightly.  But there’s a coy element about it.  “You wanna be my friend?”  Her eyes check you out once more just for emphasis.
There’s your answer.
The initial goal of seducing Jordan is long forgotten.  Quick cash seems irrelevant compared to the duchess before you, especially now that she seems within reach.  If you didn’t accept her offer you were sure you’d regret it.
You nod cautiously.
“Yeah, I’ll be your friend.”
She instantly beams at you with a conniving grin while internally congratulating herself for a mission accomplished.  You feel your lips reciprocate in a stunned smile.
“Good.  Let’s get you another drink, doll” she says, reaching out and grabbing your hand.  She tugs you behind her as she heads toward the home bar.  She gives you a raunchy look over her shoulder while you let her control your every movement.  “Then I can show you around.”
Your smile grows while Jordan is left standing stupidly by himself.  He curses under his breath, wondering how he fumbled so badly.
i'm screaming
In Singapore, the heat clings to her. Even in the airport, with her sunglasses on, head down, overly focused on the boots of the security guard in front of her who steps a path through the crowd, she can feel the humidity. The flashes of the cameras makes her ears ring, a threatening headache quickly becoming ominously real.
She remembers when this onslaught made her giddy, when she would try and meet everyone's eye, smile, shake hands. Always new places, always new people. The shame of walking with her face lowered, crowded in by looming men, makes her want to be sick. Still, the questions screamed at her have long become too prying, the autograph hunters too needy, the photographers too scary.
The car is waiting for her, sleek and black. She’s hustled from the opening doors of the terminal, into the warm bath of tropical air, and then into the air conditioning, leather seats. The door slams behind her, enclosing her in the cab, and the driver is already pulling away, leaving a throng of people half spilling out into the road after her. She knows what they want. She won’t give it to them.
The hotel room is empty. But there are leftover parts of him. A used towel in the bathroom. A watch next to the beside table, silver and chunky. There’s a yoga mat on the balcony. Her phone is buzzing, maddeningly. She has a sudden urge to throw it off the building. She puts it in the mini fridge instead, on silent. The king bed is expansive, crisp and white. The air in the room is cool and artificial, whirring reliably in the ceiling. When she crawls into bed, the sheets still smell like him. He sleeps on the left, and she tucks his pillow into her body, imagines the feel of his skin on hers, the rustle of his hair, the press of his hand. She falls asleep, bathed in bright sunlight.
When she wakes, the room is dark, and there’s someone walking around. She is not unused to strangers in her space, interfering with her things, minders and assistants and stylists. If she snoozes her alarm too many times, someone will always come in, open the blinds, waft a coffee under her nose. But this person is sitting beside her now, covering her hand with their own, warm and solid. She blinks open sticky eyes. Lewis is smiling, reaching to stroke the hair off her face. It’s a new colour, bleached and cut short, for the new part that will start filming next week.
  “It’s quarter past seven,” Lewis says. He always wakes her with the time. A way to centre herself, to adjust. It’s fifteen minutes past seven here, in Singapore, where she is, with him. Her mouth feels dry, her tongue thick. Her limbs are lazy.
  “How long have you been here?” She says, slurring her words.
  “Only a few minutes. I’m about to go to dinner if you want to come.”
  “I don’t want to go anywhere.”
Lewis looks disappointed in her, for a moment, but the expression passes off his face like it was never there. Shame curdles in her belly. The headache is still striking against her temples.
  “It’s a private place, there won’t be any photographers,” Lewis says.
  “But people will know.”
Lewis strokes over her head a final time, his hand solid and welcome, “Yes, probably.”
  She groans, and rolls away from him, so he can’t see how her eyes are getting wet and sore. She wants to crawl deeper into the bed and never come out, never be seen by anyone else. The bed shifts as Lewis stands up.
  “I don’t know how long I’ll be,” he says.
  “Wait,” she says, muffled, but doesn’t remove her head from where it’s stuffed into the pillow. The fabric is getting damp around her mouth. She can’t get enough oxygen. She can feel him watching her.
  When she lifts her head up, she’s breathing hard. Her headache throbs.
  “Let me get dressed,” she says.
The restaurant is at the bottom of the hotel, easily accessible to the public, but the host guides them to a private room that has windows into an enclosed garden, a water feature trickling. Lewis is handed a completely vegan menu. She doesn’t feel hungry at all, it’s the middle of the night in L.A., and orders a vodka soda.
  “He said the marriage was over,” she says, when she can’t hold it in any longer. Lewis is chewing polenta. He looks at her for a long time. He’s ordered an expensive bottle of red wine, which she knows she will drink most of.
  “Did you believe him?” He asks, eventually. She stares at the three scallops in front of her, picturesque on their clean pink shells.
  “Yes,” she says.
  “Why?”
Her voice is sticking in her throat. She has to eat a scallop so she doesn't start to cry.
  “I guess he’s a good actor.”
Lewis laughs, and she has to smile. The ice in her vodka soda rattles as she sucks down the last of it.
  “How did it start?” Lewis asks.
She thinks about saying she doesn’t want to talk about it, that it’s too hard, but his expression is earnest and his eyes are dark and liquid and she wants to dive into them, curl up around his pupil and rest there.
  “We went out in Rome one night. The other actors and crew as well, but everyone started to head back and we went to this bar in the old city. He touched my knee. He was so nice and interested in me and he promised that he didn’t even live with her anyone, they just pretended so the kids would’t have to deal with the media. He even said the kids were fine with it, everyone was happier now. We walked back to the hotel. He invited me to his room for a drink. I wanted to go, you know. I wanted him to ask me.”
  She has been telling most of the story to the garden and it’s fountain. It’s hard to look at Lewis. He listens carefully.
  “We slept together every night of the shoot after that. We tried not to let it show on set but it was pretty obvious. One weekend we went to Venice, and the photos. I’m sure you saw them. It was fucking everywhere. I was so angry at him for letting it happen but of course he had no control. No one does. His wife called. We couldn’t leave the hotel because there were so many photographers. Somehow people even got in so I couldn’t leave the room. The security from Rome had to come all the way out and get us. Then his wife somehow got my number.”
  She hasn’t been able to delete the texts yet. She’d read them on the flight to Singapore even, scrolling through. The marriage, it seemed, was not over.
  “Anyway, we finished the shoot. I went back to L.A., he went to London. He called a few times but. It wasn’t the same. I couldn’t stop thinking about his kids. How much they must hate me. Still,” she shrugs, and tries to smile, but imagines it as ugly and painful, “good press for the movie, I guess.”
  The waiter has come in, discreet, and pours her a glass of wine, clears their entrees. Her throat feels sore and thick. Lewis is quiet, thanks the man.
  “Why did you come here?” He asks, after the door has shut with a muffled sound, and it is just them, the wine, and the trickling water.
  She laughs, but it sounds wet.
  “I have no idea. You offered. I needed to get away from L.A.”
He sips his wine, and she forgets to look away when his tongue darts out to smooth over his bottom lip as he puts the glass down.
  “I’m sorry that happened to you,” he says, calm and steady. The sympathy makes her stomach turn over.
  “Don’t say that, it’s my own fault.”
Lewis shakes his head, and looks so sad she has to pick up her own glass, take two big mouthfuls, let it stain her mouth.
  “How’s the season going?” She asks, to change the subject. He sighs. The waiter comes back in with their mains. Somehow they begin talking about something else, careful guided away from both her affair and F1. She almost manages to forget whats happened.
She stands in the elevator facing so she can watch the numbers climb up as they soar into the sky. The food has pushed the headache momentarily away, and the alcohol is making her loose limbed. Lewis touches her waist gently as they leave the elevator and begin the short walk down the corridor to his suite. Only when he unlocks the door and steps aside for her to go in first does she remember to say, “Did you want me to get my own room?”
 “Don’t be stupid,” he says, “Old friends, right?”
  She laughs as she follows him in, “Sure, old friends.”
They finish the bottle of wine on the balcony, the heat still thick and clinging. The city moves around them, engines revving, lights changing. She throws her bare legs over his lap, and he strokes her shin, the callouses on his palm soothing. They talk aimlessly, small jokes, old gossip. She wonders if her phone has frozen in the minifridge yet. Which agent or manager has boarded a plane to come and collect her. Lewis starts to yawn when the moon is high, and they go back inside to the air-con.
She showers first, the water and citrus body wash sluicing the days sweat off her, remaking her, clean and new. Lewis’s toiletries are spilled over the counter. She lifts his bottle of cologne to her nose while she brushes her teeth.
  When he takes his turn in the bathroom, she flips through the channels on the big television, tucked into the crisp sheets, propped up against too many pillows. The TV is the only light in the room, flickering and constantly changing. She feels exhausted, and like sleep has never been further away. She has not retrieved her phone from the fridge. They’ll find her somehow. They always do.
Lewis wears soft pyjama pants to bed, low on his hips. She's wearing one of his t-shirts. They’re wet hair tangles as she slouches into his shoulder, tucked into the crook of his armpit while they watch Singaporean news. During the entertainment portion, an image of her in her huge sunglasses at the arrival terminal pops up. She looks pale and sickly in the video. Lewis turns the television off.
  “It’s okay,” she says, interrupting him saying, “I’m tired, anyway.”
  “What are you doing tomorrow?” She asks, still leaning against him. His arm is around her, heavy and solid. She feel his chin against her skull.
  “It’s the race. I’ll be out all day.”
  “Alright.”
  “When do you have to leave?”
  “Whenever they come and fetch me.”
  “Maybe if you stayed for the race. Came to the grid. We could make sure you get interviewed, it might distract everyone from. What’s just happened.”
  She turns her face into his chest, wanting to become one of his tattoos, imprinted on his skin.
  “Or not,” he says, quietly.
  “I can’t think about it right now,” she says.
  “Okay,” he soothes. He’s touching her hair, the wrong colour, the wrong length. She feels outside of her own body, even as she tries to cram into his. She touches his stomach, just her fingertips, scratching lower to the line of his waist, his hips bones. He says her name against her forehead, his lips brushing over her skin.
  “We don’t have to,” Lewis says.
  “Do you want to?”
  “Of course,” he breathes.
  “I want to,” she says.
She lets her head fall lower over his chest, down his abdomen so she can drag her mouth over the muscle there, kiss over his navel, the brush of hair under her mouth as she finds the waistband of his pyjamas. Lewis is sighing and twitching, his hand in her hair. The pressure is familiar, no push, just a warmth. She can feel him against her chin as she laves her tongue over his hip, already hard and wanting. His skin is goose bumped, anticipating. She never wants it to end, wants to keep him dangling on the edge, waiting and waiting.
He lifts his hips for her to wriggle his pants off him, down the muscle of his thighs, the curve of his knees. Lewis grabs at her (his) t-shirt, pulling it over her head and off so he can sweep his hands over her shoulders, cup her breasts in his hands, smiling dopely at her as his thumbs swipe over her nipples, make her gasp. His cock stands red against his belly, leaking wet. She lowers her head to lick up the length of it, suck him into her mouth, salty and hot. He groans, and his hands tangle in her hair, guiding her rhythm. It’s so easy to fall back into it, remembering him, one hand around the base of him, the other against his hip, bracing herself. He keeps her hair out of her face, mumbles nonsense to her, about how good she is, how amazing it feels. She pulls off to drool over him, let him see the mess he’s made, lick kitten like at the swollen tip. Lewis moans, instinctual from his chest.
  “Baby,” he says, hips knocking up unconsciously, “Baby, please.”
  “What do you want?” She asks, her hand slicking up and down the length of him, the sounds lewd.
  “I want you. I just want you. So badly, please.”
  “Where do you want me?”
  “Anywhere,” he’s grinning, mouth wet, cheeks flushed, “Anywhere.”
She sits herself up on her knees, and he whines as she lets go of him, takes his face in her hands. He kisses her messy and desperate, his tongue between her teeth. He drags at her hair, and the tingling pain of it makes her groan into him.
  His hand between her legs, stroking, spreading her wetness. She has to stop kissing him to breathe, their noses knocking together, dropping her head into the crook of his shoulder to pant as he slips a finger into her, another, crooks them just right and fucks her with his hand.
  “I know,” he croons, as she shudders against his chest, “I know, feels good, huh?”
  “Yes,” she gasps, meeting his hand with her hips as an orgasm curls in her belly, “It’s s’good.”
  “Come for me, baby,” he whispers against her ear, his mouth hot. She keens and falls limp against him, sat half in his lap as she comes, his hand trapped between her legs. Her body keeps rocking unconsciously against him as she settles, breathing in the smell of him, feeling the pulse of his jugular against her mouth.
  Lewis soothes her, kissing the side of her face, the line of her bare shoulder, his fingers still tucked inside her. She can feel the way their skin is sticking together with sweat already. She doesn’t mind it.
  She reaches between them, where he’s resting against the inside of her thigh, hot and stiff, flinching when she rubs her thumb over the tip.
  “You want me?” She asks, can’t look him in the eye, her head under his chin.
  “Yes,” Lewis breathes, fucking into her hand, “Always.”
She shifts, gets her leg over his hip so she’s hovering above him, nudging the head of his cock against herself, teasing. Lewis is breathing hard, his chest shiny, his shoulders big. He’s watching her with big, dark eyes. When she lets him inside, he curses. Fists curling into the bedsheets.
  It feels otherworldly, having him slip into her, thick and long and good. Fills her up in a way she can never explain. It knocks the breath out of her. Her knees press into his hips, her head drooping down to press her forehead against his. His mouth is open, pink and bitten.
  “Oh my god,” she rasps, pulling herself up and down again. He slides deeper the second time. Lewis groans, and screws his eyes shut. His big hands find her waist, grabbing at her bum, helps her lift herself and drop down, finding a rhythm.
  “Oh, fuck,” he pants, “Oh, fuck, oh, fuck, oh, fuck.”
She loses the strength to speak, lets him fuck up into her, her arms around his shoulders. She cries out when he moves, stays inside her as he lays her out on her back, pulls her legs out and wide so he has the space to drive into her, keep her there, half crying and writhing. It’s so good it blinds her.
  “Is that what you wanted? Is this what you needed?” Lewis is asking her, he’s slowing down so she feels every thrust, right to the core of her. She struggles to prop herself up on her elbows, watching where their bodies meet, a perfect coupling, his hips knocking into hers.
  “Yes,” she tells him, grabbing at the muscle of his bicep, yanking him down so she can kiss him, still telling him yes, yes, yes.
  She comes again, flat on her back, her knees over his shoulders, adrift in the ocean of him, trusting him to fuck her through it, go easy on her when she starts to shake.
  “It’s okay,” he murmurs, bent low over her, his mouth by her jawline, “You’re okay, you’re so good, you feel so good.”
  She holds onto him, anchored by him in the swathe of bedsheets, in the mess of her life.
  “Please,” she asks, wrapping her legs around his waist, urging him in closer, deeper. She does’t know what she’s asking for. To keep going? To save her? To take her far away?
  Lewis’ movements hasten, an urgency to him as he lets go, his thumb holding her mouth open so he can pant the same air. She twists her hand into his braids, holds him there, gazes up at him as he pushes into her, again and again. His face goes euphoric, and she holds him tight against her as he comes, not looking away from her, his eyes dark and endless.
She doesn’t sleep. Lewis breathes slow and deep, his arm over her stomach. She watches the city, curtains left open, and tries not to think about her phone in the fridge. The effect of the wine is ebbing, and everything feels starkly real and horrible again. Her legs are sore from the weight of Lewis bending her, having her, but it’s a good pain, a reminder that she has used her body. She finds herself touching his hand, his fingers, the metal of his rings. She could stay in the hotel room forever, if she wanted. Pass the time rotting away until he returned for next years race, and the next, and the next. Never take her phone out. Swim in the infinity pool. Order room service. She turns her face from the skyline, away from the daydream.
  Lewis is angled towards her, young and ethereal in sleep. His lips are parted, jaw relaxed. She wants to kiss the very tip of his nose. It used to be like this all the time. When the television show had summer breaks, and she could just go wherever he was. Follow him around like a dog, panting at his heels. But then the breaks were filled with other projects, and then she was so busy there wasn’t even time for the show. Standing for the applause at Cannes with an empty seat beside her. Not being able to reach him for hours after because the race was delayed. Holding that heavy award in her hand, looking out over a sea of cameras and her peers, trying to call him as soon as she was off stage and it ringing through ten times before she gave up.
  The man she’d had an affair with had asked her about Lewis. If he had to be half mad to drive the car around and around in circles that fast. Only a quarter mad, she’d said, and changed the subject. It felt wrong to hear Lewis’ name in his mouth. They accessed two different parts of her. Even in the middle of it, she knew the man was only activating something primal and childish in her, a lavishing of attention that made her feel special. Lewis, rather, made her see the worst sides of herself, encouraged her to turn and face them. He would dig under her skin, lift scabs, push her forward even when she wanted to go back.
It’s difficult to wake in the morning. The sky is grey and low, rain patterning the window. Lewis is naked, digging through his jeans to find his phone that’s ringing an endless alarm. She rolls over onto the side of the bed he’s vacated. When he returns, the phone silenced, he slides into what little space she’s left, arranging her limp body half on top of him. He’s soft and close and warm. She tucks her face into his shoulder, breathes him, thinks about baring her teeth and biting.
  “I have to be out in fifteen minutes,” he tells her, his voice rumbling through his chest. She whines and clings like a child.
  “You can’t distract me today,” Lewis says, but his voice is soft and concerned, “I have the race.”
  “When?”
  “Tonight.”
  “I might be gone by then.”
She feels him sigh, her head rising and falling with his chest.
   “Well, try not to be,” he says.
 Maybe she can get one more day. If she hides, if she doesn’t answer her phone.
  “Should I come?” She asks, half hidden by his neck. He goes still, but his voice is calm and measured.
  “If you want to. I’d like that.”
  “If people see you and me together. You know what they’ll say.”
He laughs, and she lifts her head up to see the way his eyes shine and crinkle, “Let them say it.”
  She kisses the corner of his mouth, and then the other side. He’s smiling.
  “I have nothing to wear,” she says. Lewis rolls his eyes.
  “You have all day to find something.”
  “I can’t go out.”
  “Why not?”
She frowns at him, “They’ll see me.”
  “Who? The paparazzi? The crowd? Who cares. It’s done now. The only thing you can do now is keep going.”
  She sits up, and off him. The sheets fall from her chest and she watches Lewis try not to stare at her tits.
  “That’s a bit harsh,” she says.
  “It’s the truth.”
The alarm starts going again, vibrating across the carpet, forgotten next to his jeans. Lewis throws the covers off, and makes for the shower, snatching the phone off the floor on his way. She sits back against the pillows, turns to watch the rain. The only thing you can do now is keep going.
She tells only who needs to know that she’s going to the race. The heat is heavy and palpable. Her feet hurt in the heels, but the dress is cool where it swishes around her ankles. Someone knew someone who knew a stylist in the city, and a hair and make up artist was quick to be summoned to the room.
  “Just make me look good,” she’d told them, and then sat quietly, let them prod and poke at her until when she looked in the mirror again, she saw no-one. A facade. An actress. The Rubik’s cube of herself she could present to the world. She smiles. She retrieves her phone from the mini fridge.
She likes the beat in time when people realise it’s her, and before they lift their phones to take a photo. A swell in time, like the lip of a wave about to crash. Then there’s screaming, camera flashes, people calling her name. She lifts her chin and keeps moving, guided by a man in a Mercedes shirt. She refuses to think about how much the pictures will sell for to the magazines, or about twitter threads, or even what the pit crew lean to whisper to each other. Lewis is waiting for her in the garage. She has pride of place. There are more cameras on them then the track. His suit is pushed to his hips, and she can see the thrill gleam in his eyes. She smiles. She does not look at the cameras. She lets him take her into his chest. She is the one who looks up at him, and kisses him.
Let them see. Let them all see.
Authors Note | Okay first of all - Tumblr was being a B and wouldn't let me post, so I had to refresh and lost all of the tagging I did (which took me for effing ever) I'm posting this and I'll tag everyone once I've had a goddamn ciggerate. Anyways, I wrote a long ass part 2 and then decided I wanted to halve it and make a part 3 because I have an unhealthy obsession with ending things on a cliff hanger (sorta) but it's written and proof read and will be posted 24 hours after this. I hope this lived up to everyones expectations
As always, any & all comments/reblogs are most appreciated - Love, P. x 🌿
I jumped at every sound that drifted down the entry hall, flipping through an open novel spread across the kitchen counter that I wasn’t paying attention to, as I re read the same paragraph for the fifth time. My nerves spiked and my fingers gripped the next page, in danger of ripping it from the spine of the book as the front door smacked open and my brothers voice rang out.
I hadn’t seen or heard from Eddie since what happened under his Hellfire table. He’d ushered his club out as soon as the campaign ended, providing me with a quick escape as I fled from the room and didn’t look back. I’d worried about what to say – or not to say – the next time he turned up with Trevor, but I shouldn’t have bothered panicking about it because Eddie had been ominously absent without an excuse.
I couldn’t very well go and ask my brother about it, his response making me choke up before I could even figure out the words, and I didn’t want to give myself away as the reason why Eddie might be avoiding me – and by extension Trevor. But tonight was movie night, and if Eddie missed this without a good enough reason – like a broken leg or death – Trevor would get suspicious.
I definitely had not changed my outfit three times and spent an hour on my makeup just in case Eddie turned up for tonight.
A shiver shot down my spine as I leant further over the counter, burying my head further into the book as I fidget, trying hard to look relaxed and unbothered as footsteps filled the empty hallway.
I couldn’t help my glance up as an unfamiliar footfall slapped against the linoleum.
“Umm… Hi?”
“Hey” The tall blonde smirked at me, helping herself to a drink from the fridge as her short mini skirt rode up her thighs. My stomach sunk as I watched her prance around the island bench, leaning on it as she popped open the soda can and glared at me over the lip of it.
“Who are you?” I hissed, slamming my book shut as I straightened up.
“Laura.” Her eyes flashed in surprise at my animosity and her smile was sickly sweet as she took a loud slurp, leaving makeup stains on the can.
“Right… and you’re here why?” I was afraid of the answer.
“Movie night.” She grinned and tossed her hair back as my face dropped, my lunch threatening to make a reappearance.
“Or a movie date, whatever you want to call it, we met at the Hideout.” At that moment she glanced towards the hallway, and I spun around to face what my anger was internally screaming at.
Eddie was hovering in the darkened entry space, turned towards the living room but facing to where I stood shaking in fury next to the stranger dressed like a whore in my kitchen. His brows knotted as he spared her a glance and his hand moved to rub at his jaw as his gaze reluctantly moved to mine.
I didn’t know what I expected, something along the lines of how he’d looked at me between his legs in front of his throne, or if he wanted to pretend it didn’t happen then maybe how he’d always looked at me, like a kid sister. The dark resolute of disinterest bordering on anger was not what I thought I was going to find when his glowering stare met mine.
Trevor chose that moment to burst through the doorway, shoving past Eddie as he came to stand around the bench. He slowed and rested his fist on the countertop as the thick tension hit him, his eyes flickering between our faces.
“You ready babe?” I spun around as he slid his arm around Laura’s waist, accepting her kiss eagerly as he scowled at me over her shoulder, not knowing what caused the awkward atmosphere but blaming me for it anyway.
“Wait she’s here for you?” My voice came out in an unplanned shocked screech.
“Obviously, who else?” He stared at me like he wouldn’t expect me to consider Eddie as a possibility. I tried to not be noticeable as I dropped my eyes from them and turned back to face him but he’d disappeared from the door frame.
“You joining us?” The microwave door creaked as Trevor slid a bowl of unpopped corn kernels into it.
“Uh yeah.” The whole situation had caught me off guard, and I’d answered without thinking.
I hesitated in the kitchen as my brother and what appeared to be his new girlfriend, giggled and groped at each other as the occasional pop echoed off the cabinets, I groaned and grabbed my water bottle as they started making out without shame, heading for the living room filled with the blue glow from the tv set that was geared up and ready to play Trevor’s horror movie choice of the night.
I waited for him to acknowledge me, but his eyes were glued to the paused screen, leaning his head into his arm perched on the side of the couch. I briefly considered taking up residence in the uncomfortable chair directly next to the tv and facing away from it, but that would look more suspicious to Trevor than sitting next to Eddie on the couch we always shared.
“Hi.” My voice was small as I gripped the bottle tighter to my chest, unsure where we stood after what happened between us. His eyes flashed to my face, softening as they moved behind me to see that I was alone.
“Hey you.” He allowed me half a smug smirk as I took a probing step forward, returning his smile with a careful one as my heart unclenched a little.
“Haven’t seen you for a bit.” I walked past his spread knees as I plopped onto the furthest end of the couch, trying to keep my eyes on his and not how tight his pants were around his hips as he stretched and tugged his jeans down an inch.
“Yeah, had some stuff to sort out.” He titled his head towards me as his stare burned into me, and even in the cold space between us, the night time sky seeping in through the open window casting long shadows over us, I could feel the suffocating zaps of electricity that flared between us.
It was strong enough to steal my breath away, too strong for me to have imagined it, and from the way Eddie’s eyes darkened as his eyes fell to my lips, he had to be feeling it to.
I opened my mouth to say something when the entry hall light flicked off and Trevor strutted into the room, bringing the strong smell of butter with him.
“Bunch up man.” He nodded at Eddie as he gestured for Laura to take a seat, handing her the bowl as he went to go grab the tv remote.
I heard Eddie’s low sigh as he balled up his hands and used them to push into the couch, propelling him towards my end as I shuffled up against the very edge of it. The room blackened completely as the screen went dark, the quiet static creeping through the speakers.
Fuck
In the darkness the tingling tension between us hiked up a hundred times more, almost palpable in the air. My breathing stopped, and from the way Eddie froze beside me as he went rigid from trying to keep the non-existent space between us, so had he.
The couch groaned under Trevor’s weight as he folded himself onto the opposite end of it, slinging an arm over Laura and pulling her into his side from where she was wedged between him and Eddie.
The screen lighted up, the words ‘based on a true story’ spread across it as it faded back into blackness and a scene of a happy couple making out at a lookout, took its place.
“Thought this was supposed to be a horror, not a romance Trevor.” Eddie hissed, digging his hand into his knee as he picked at the loose threads and grimaced at the display of affection in front of us.
“It is, dude.” Trevor glanced over the mound of blonde hair to shoot Eddie a concerned look. I burrowed down into the cushions away from Eddie, crossing my arms across my chest as I tried to melt away.
Any other night if I was sat in front of an R-rated movie, I’d be jumping and letting out little squeals the same as Laura. But I was too focused on snatching my hand back when it reached out to brush against Eddie’s thigh like it had a mind of its own, barely catching myself in time. I was literally having to remind myself to breath as every little shift that brought our bodies together, sent a flash of heat from wherever our skin touched.
He was driving me insane, but most infuriatingly of all was how unbothered Eddie seemed. Even though it felt like he was going to strenuous lengths to avoid touching me as much as possible, he was slouched in a relaxed position with his head leaning against the back of the couch, his hands resting in loose fists along the curve of his lap.
I swallowed hard as his lashes lowered against his cheeks, his breath fluttering from his parted lips as the mixed colours of gore from the tv, reflected off his sharp features prettily.
I’d turned my head too far and he noticed me, I dropped my gaze just as Eddie’s eyes slid to mine, watching my cheeks blaze in indignation at being caught. I felt his stare burning heat into me like an actual physical touch and I couldn’t help myself, I glanced back up shyly to find his almost black eyes focused entirely on me now.
The upturned corner of his lips twitched as a tight coil constricted around my chest, making it impossible to breath as his eyes trapped me. I caught my lip between my teeth as Eddie leant across my lap, his fingers brushed my knees as he swiped up the bundle of blankets at the corner of the couch.
“It’s cold.” He didn’t give the others a choice as he tossed a blanket into Trevor’s face, turning his back on him as he tucked the fleecy material into the contours of my body. I stayed as still as stone as Eddie draped it over my shoulders, his warm breath tickled my neck as he bent close to whisper in my ear.
“If you bite your fucking lip one more time, I’m going to do it for you.”
Fuck
I was lucky it was dark because my face was on fire, my breath blew past my lips in a shudder as Eddie sunk back against the pillows. A satisfied scoff vibrated through his chest as he lightly hung the rest of the blanket over his lap, his arms disappearing beneath it.
Spurts of red danced across the screen as the movie reached the point of the killer going on a spree, his victims screams bounced off the walls and drowned out my gasp as Eddie’s fingers brushed against my thigh.
His light touch traced across the fabric of my skirt, quickly moving down the side of my naked leg as my breath tumbled out in gasps. The thin blanket bunched up in my lap as I twisted it in my hands, gulping as Eddie’s fingers tips crawled over the top of my thighs, making his way to the blazing heat between them.
Eddie kept his eyes on the screen as he bantered back with Trevor over the low budget gore effects, squeezing my inner thigh until I relaxed and spread them apart for him.
I didn’t know what was in the air between us that made even the slightest touch feel like a lightning strike. But my body betrayed me as it became alert to every delicate brush of Eddie’s fingers, every inch that brought him closer to my drenched panties made me tremble against him.
I buried my groan by biting into my fist but he wasn’t so subtle. Eddie’s head fell back against his shoulders and let out a sigh through clenched teeth as his fingers slipped between my folds, flicking up and down through my slick as I anchored myself to the couch, holding on for dear life as his finger tip moved over my swollen bud, rubbing constant circles until my legs were shaking so hard the pillows beneath us started moving.
I whimpered as Eddie’s hand curved, pressing his first long finger inside of me, the intrusion burned slightly as he stretched me out before drifting off into a new sense of pleasure. I’d played with myself before, too many nights to remember where I pretended my smaller fingers were Eddie’s long ones, covered in bulky rings as they slammed into me.
But out of all the times I’d imagined this, I didn’t expect to have to have to swallow my cries because Eddie was secretly touching me in front of other people. Eddie laughed loudly to cover my moan as he slid a second finger deep into me, leaning forward over his lap to block me from view as I grabbed his wrists above the blanket, using him to keep me steady as the feeling of his hand threaten to send me over the edge.
“You’re actually enjoying the movie?” Laura scoffed, glaring at Eddie as I tried to blink through my tears of pleasure.
“Uh yeah, I actually really like what I’m watching.” He smirked, covering his mouth with his free hand as he glanced over at me through his thick lashes.
My head snapped back as I couldn’t stop the shudder and soft whimper that fled me as Eddie pushed up against a sensitive soft spot deep in my pussy. I squeezed my eyes and shook my head as Trevor asked me if the movie was too scary, not trusting myself to speak.
There was a roar of a chainsaw and Laura shrieked.
“Oh my god stop stop stop.” I scrambled as Eddie ripped his hand from between my legs, rubbing his jaw with the fingers still drenched in my essence as he glanced at my brother reaching for the remote. I used the distraction to shimmy my skirt back down my thighs, pinching the fabric of my panties to cover my slit again after Eddie had shoved it out of the way for himself.
He turned his head to look at me with alight eyes as my chest heaved and I sat up straighter, breathing deeply as I tore the blanket off my lap and let it fall to our feet, wanting to hide the evidence. Eddie grunted and curled over like he’d been punched in the gut as he glared at me, his hand pressed against his crotch.
I narrowed my eyes back confusingly at him before he huffed and his hands quickly dipped beneath his pant line, readjusting his hard on before the others noticed it straining against his jeans.
“I cannot believe you thought a double date watching a gross horror movie was a good idea.” Trevor’s face flared in anger as we all snapped our necks towards Laura and the boys almost yelled over each other.
“This is not a fucking double date –“
“-God no, she’s just Trevor’s sister.” Eddie shook his head with a look of – what I could only describe as disgust – clouding his face.
Just Trevor’s sister
The rush of air that was knocked from my chest was quiet, but he heard it. Eddie’s face was cold and devoid of any emotion, hiding whatever thoughts burned behind those pretty dark eyes as hurt flared in my face. That hurt quickly spiralled in anger as Trevor laughed like Laura had told the funniest joke in existence and she glanced between us in confusion.
I was only ever going to be the little sister. Nothing more, nothing less. Never my own person. The cold gut wrenching feeling of being used washed over me as everyone’s eyes settled on me.
Eddie had been right. He knew what guys wanted, what all guys wanted.
What he wanted.
My pathetically pining heart that had chased him for the last decade, cracked as I struggled with the realisation.
It didn’t matter how much I tried to fight and prove myself against the ‘innocent’ label they’d branded me with, because Eddie wasn’t going to feel anything genuine for me, he was just going to treat me like his little play thing.
I was such a fucking idiot
That knowledge made the corner of my vision turn red as my nails bit into my palms, the words falling from me without fear or hesitation.
“You know what Laura? I completely agree with you, it is a stupid idea. And I’m really glad that the guy that asked me to go out this weekend, doesn’t think I’d enjoy watching a horror movie under a blanket for a first date.” I spat the words at the shocked face of my brother and the stone cold, barely concealed simmering rage of Eddie’s. His eyes followed me as I launched myself from the couch, kicking his feet out of the way as I sped from the room before my building tears could fall.
Tumblr media
The cold press wasn’t helping to dim the puffiness around both of my eyes, I slammed the wet cloth against the sink as I sighed and leant over it, glaring at my reflection in the mirror. My scream mutilated in my throat as I clutched my chest and spun around, cowering against the vanity as the pair of reflective eyes that scared me, emerged from the darkness.
Eddie hovered in the doorway with a grim expression, anger tightening the corner of his mouth as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“You’ve been crying.” His voice didn’t reveal anything as he pointed out the obvious.
“Clearly, genius.” I swallowed as my eyes roamed over his bare chest, flitting away as he shifted and his plaid pyjama pants dipped lower against his v-line.
“What’s wrong?” His jaw clenched as he stumbled over the question, his eyes flaring with the answer he knew was coming.
“Why would you bother asking me that? I’m just Trevor’s little, innocent, stupid sister.” For the first time real anger flowed between us, pure undiluted rage as I stood my ground, copying his stance as I cocked a brow at him, daring him to deny the truth.
“Untouchable. Remember?” My hushed yell was still far too loud in the quiet house, cutting through the darkness as something burned in Eddie’s eyes and tears threatened to make a reappearance in mine.
“I never said you were stupid.” His face blazed with his own anger now as he took a few steps towards me. I backed into the few inches of space I still had behind me, needing to stay away from him to keep my head clear.
Eddie muttered my name as my eyes closed on their own, squeezing shut tighter and his rough, cold hands cradled my face.
“Open your eyes.” He demanded, pressing his hold on me as I shook my head. They flew open in shock and widened as Eddie’s chest pressed against mine, feeling it expand as he sucked in a deep breath and tilted his face towards me.
He was so close it was hard to look up at him, his lips moved closer to me as he whispered his question, the words vibrating through both of our bodies as he pressed me to him.
“What do you want?” It was barely a sigh, sending my mind blank as the minty smell of him washed over me. Eddie’s lashes brushed his cheeks as they focused on my quivering lips, patiently waiting for an answer that I couldn’t comprehend.
I caved
I couldn’t resist him
Even if he only wanted what every guy wanted
“You.” I didn’t say it, I just mouthed the word because Eddie’s dark stare had stolen the power of speech from me.
“Say it again. Louder.” His jaw flexed as our shaky breaths mingled, our lips moving closer together as his loose hair brushed past my collar bones. He paused, just as his bottom lip caressed mine and my knees gave out.
Eddie’s arm slid around my waist to keep me upright and the corner of his mouth twitched as he tried to force his smirk away.
“Say it.”
“You.” Eddie’s lips encased mine.
His heat flooded through me as they moved in a way that I’d only ever read about in my romance novels. They were softer than his hair looked, firm but they moved perfectly in sync with mine. God, the taste of him was more than I could have imagined, somehow a perfect mix of his cologne and weed and cigarettes and our peppermint mouthwash.
He was everywhere, his hands touching each bare patch of skin that I needed him to as I gave in completely, twisting my hands in his hair to pull him closer to me as I revelled in finally having our first kiss, never wanting to feel the cold air between our lips again.
Eddie groaned in response to my own one that tumbled from my lips, gripping the fabric of my shorts at my hip until I was afraid he was going to tear it away, his free hand trapped the side of my face, tilting my head up so he could attack my neck.
Each gentle bite followed by a kiss elected a desperate moan from me, flowing faster from me before I could stop them, almost like Eddie was chasing after them and finding pleasure in each sound he forced from me. My head rested back against the mirror with a sigh as his lips traced across my collar bone, teasing at the base of my neck as his hand brushed past the side of my breast, seeming almost like an accident until I spotted the smirk on Eddie’s face.
His hand tightened behind my ear and the nape of my neck as our eyes met, Eddie rose to his full height as an electric bolt shot through me from where our bare skin touched, straight to between my legs.
A tremor of cold reality washed over as his hand moved to trace the outline of my lips and I remembered where his fingers had been only a couple of hours ago. His face dropped as I gasped and lightly shoved at his shoulders, slipping out of his grip as I pulled up the strap of my shirt that Eddie had sneakily slipped off my shoulder.
“Don’t do this. Please, if you don’t care about me, don’t act like you do. I’m not some whore you can have when you want.” I couldn’t hold his stare as my breath quivered from me, sounding embarrassingly like I was going to cry as Eddie gripped the sides of the vanity beside me and leaned over it, forcing me to bow back against it and look up at him.
His jaw was clenched and his eyes flashed dangerously, Eddie ran his tongue along his bottom lip as his stare flicked between mine, trying to read something in them as his brows creased angrily.
“You have no idea how much I fucking care about you.”
I refused to believe him
“Like a sister.” I mumbled.
Heat flashed up my arm as Eddie wrenched it away from his chest, pressing my fingers against his hard length hidden beneath his pants. I glanced up at him as he let out a hollow sigh, smiling without humour as he shook his head.
“I haven’t stopped being hard since you decided to hide under that fucking table. I haven’t been able to stop thinking you. You have no idea-.” Eddie tilted his forehead until it was pressing against mine, letting his eyes fall shut as he loosened his grip around my wrist.
I kept my hand pressed against him, my cheeks blushing as I waited.
“-what you do to me. Fucks sake you pretty, silly girl. I tried to stay away because I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep my hands off you. Look what happened tonight, I thought I could handle seeing you but I fucking can’tstay away from you. I love Trevor like a brother, and because of that, you’re off limits.” Eddie dropped his grip completely and took a step back, shaking his head to clear it as he stared up at the ceiling, clenching his fists together before he yanked them through his hair roughly.
Eddie glanced back down at me with a sad smile as I froze, soaking up every syllable.
“Like a sister.” He mocked me. “You’ve got no idea how hard it is not to corrupt you. I was able to stay away from you for ten years, but you just had to prove how bad you actually are didn’t you?” Eddie shook his head again, his hand squeezing my cheeks until my lips mushed together.
“Not so innocent, am I?” White, hot pleasure cut through me. I’d won
Eddie groaned and threw his head back, muttering the word Succubus
“The things I want to do to you, what I dream about doing, what I need to do to you. You don’t do that to a sister.” Eddie took a few more steps back, like he needed the space between us as a foreign heat spurred me across the tiles of the bathroom a couple of paces.
“Like what?” I demanded, excitement urging me on as the walls between my legs fluttered at his words.
“That’s not the sort of thing I should tell someone like you.” Eddie wrapped his hands around my wrists to pull them away as I reached up to cup his face, pinning them between us as he smirked at the pout on my lips.
“Someone like me?” I scowled.
“Virgin.” Eddie grinned widely, whispering the word like he was embarrassed.
“How would you know.” I shot back, flinching away from him.
“Because from the first day I met you, I haven’t taken my eyes off you. Trust me, I would know if you weren’t one anymore.” Eddie’s eyes flashed a warning in them as his face coloured, his chest heaving as he ran his gaze over my body.
“Show me.”
“What?” I enjoyed catching him off guard for a split second before I pushed forward, refusing to lose my false sense of confidence.
“Show me… what you want to do to me.” My voice sounded heavy with lust even to my own ears, a blush creeping up my neck as Eddie halted.
Eddie’s hands fell to my hips as he pushed me back against the counter, kicking the bathroom door shut with his heel as he lifted me onto the counter behind us, sliding my legs apart as he moved between them.
“That’s it. Keep those pretty eyes on me.” My breaths were shallow as Eddie dipped against my chest, biting at my breasts beneath the thin fabric of my shirt as he moved across my stomach, his hands tracing the trails of fire that his mouth left behind.
My head pressed back against the cold surface of the mirror as I knotted my hands in Eddie’s hair, holding onto him to keep me on earth as his face pressed against my slit covered by my pyjama shorts.
I wasn’t wearing panties and Eddie knew that. His eyes glinted up at me as I peeked down, shutting my eyes and throwing my head to the side as he pressed his nose against me and rubbed it against my swollen clit, laughing deeply as I trembled and hooked my legs around his back to trap him against me. Eddie pushed my thighs up further until they were resting on his shoulders and I was sitting half off the vanity, my pelvis angled perfectly towards him as he looked at me like I was edible.
“So goddamn corruptible.” Whatever snarky response I might have had, died on my lips as Eddie devoured me like a mad man. His lips latched around my clit as he tugged slightly, grinning into my thigh as a loud moan slid out of my chest. He squeezed my legs and shushed me before he brought his tongue to my puffy lips drenched in my own arousal and his saliva, spreading the mixture around and burying his face in it as I twisted beneath him and tugged his hair up towards me, begging for him to suck on my clit again as I whimpered.
“Please Eddie please.” I arched away from the mirror as I reached up to cup my own breasts, surprising myself as I pinched and twisted my hard nipples until I was crying out from both the pain and the laps of pleasure Eddie’s tongue was erecting from me.
“Uhh I’m fucking powerless if you beg.” He rolled his eyes as he moved higher on his knees, digging his fingers into the tops of my thighs as his teeth dragged along my throbbing bud, each tug from his mouth made my legs ache to snap shut and trap him there forever.
The mirror steamed up as heat billowed around us, a lusty concoction of my moans and Eddie’s grunts and the erotic sounds of his tongue on my pussy was enough to suffocate us both.
Something tightened just below my stomach, forcing my eyes shut as my legs twitched and I froze, almost seizing as Eddie’s tongue circled around my clit as his longest finger slid inside of my drenched hole easily, almost like he recognised some unseen cue to go faster.
His free hand that wasn’t working between my legs shot up to shove his fingers in my mouth so that my gag muted my scream, coating my tongue in the sticky residue that his hand had fucked out of me.
It all happened at once, something invisible broke inside of me and my legs snapped shut against the sides of Eddie’s face, my crossed ankles digging into the middle of his back as I arched up off the mirror, ripping his hair from the roots as my lips locked around a silent scream and choked on his hand.
Waves of immense pleasure, nothing like I had ever been able to elicit out of my body myself, destroyed my composure. This feeling came deep from within my soul, no, Hell.
It had to come from Hell because nothing could so devilishly intoxicating, I would ruin my soul searching for this feeling for the rest of the time.
As quickly as it came, it was over. I slumped against the vanity as I melted, my eyes ringing and blocking out Eddie’s question as he rose to his feet, grinning as he wiped the wetness from his chin and wrapped his hand around my ass, crushing me to him as he dipped his head down to me.
“You still think I’m innocent?” My hypothetical question came out groggy, like I was drunk as I clasped my fingers around the back of his neck. I couldn’t help the stupid grin on my face as I shivered, unable to block out the tingling between my thighs as my internal walls fluttered around nothing, begging for something.
“You just came on my face, what do you think?” His grin was twice as wide as his lips moved to mine.
“Yo Eddie, is that you in there?” Eddie’s face froze inches from mine as Trevor’s voice rung out from the hallway, his heavy footsteps thudding against the carpet runner as he headed towards the bathroom.
“Uh yeah man, just taking a piss.” I jumped as my brother’s fist pounded down against the wooden door, flinching as it rattled on its hinges. Eddie’s face was an exact image of fear the same as mine, as we tensed in each other’s arms.
“Well I’m gonna smoke if you wanna come.” There was a pause as Eddie’s eyes snapped shut and he pinched the bridge of his nose, I could see his thoughts ticking over as my head swam, my thoughts turning foggy from the breath I refused to let go off.
I tightened my hold around his shoulders as Eddie’s hands gripped my sides, lifting me off the bench and placing me with a feather light touch next to where the door would swing back on. His hand wrapped around my mouth as he turned towards the closed doorway.
“I’m going to tell him.” His words were barely more than a whisper as resolve hardened in his eyes, speaking more to himself than me as my face narrowed in shock.
“Yeah, I’ll be out in a sec.” Eddie’s eyes flashed back to mine as his hand dropped to my throat, not tight enough to hurt but he squeezed it until my core throbbed for him again. Eddie mashed his lips to mine, wiping the smile off my face as his free hand cradled the curve of my cheek softly, he pulled away only to whisper in my ear.
“You’re not going on that date this weekend.” Eddie’s smirk disappeared from my shocked glance as he placed a soft kiss at the side of my neck, leaving me alone with my shiver as cold air replaced his hold and he tugged the door open, wide enough to slip through but still hiding me and my reflection, from view.
“You been jerking off in there or something?” I pressed both hands against my mouth as my knees shook, my brothers voice barely audible over the roaring in my ears.
“Yeah, couldn’t help myself.” There was a tinge of nerves and annoyance in his voice that Trevor didn’t pick up on, drowning in his forced laugh and my brothers boisterous one.
“You need a girl man.” It sounded like Trevor slapped Eddie on the shoulder and I glanced up in the mirror.
Eddie’s pained and honest stare met mine in the reflection as he glanced over his shoulder, a war raging in his face as he pulled the door closed behind him.
“Believe me, I’m trying.”
Sukuna that has a big fat crush on his lil bro Yuuji's upperclassmen friend that tutors him🤭💞
SHAPESHIFTED: RYOMEN SUKUNA
she was there, sitting beautifully and started filling the room, it was hard not to notice her glisten, when all the lights in the room— even the moon that peaks from the creek of the window darted like a spotlight on her, ‘your eyes might not be the color of the ocean but I get drown just by taking a secret glance, how do you do that? shapeshited and makes me fall in love with you?’
content warning: fluff, nothing else
sorry it takes me a lot of time to write this, I'm busy working on my thesis right now, and sorry I don't make exactly like your request but I hope you enjoy it 😊
THIS WAS FROM SUKUNA'S POV
UH OH, I'M FALLING IN LOVE
the moon is bright and the day is still young, i was just walking downstairs when i heard my brother's voice alongside a soft, feminine unfamiliar one. i kept my feet moving until i was able to see who the voice belonged to. she is sitting there with her small back facing me, body so tiny i'm afraid her friends had to lose her every time they were walking in the crowd. i keep on looking at her small frame until the brother of mine snaps me out of my own thought.
“sukuna.”
and just like that, she turned around, finally showing me how pretty someone could get with a honey voice like that. and suddenly, our eyes locked and if this is what people tell you about love at first sight i think they're having no idea what they were talking about. it doesn't make my head fuzzy and the world doesn't stop moving and the noise isn't running faded into the background like the movie show, but this? i feel hurt inside my chest like my heart alone wants to run and give it to her by itself.
she stands, showing me the biggest and the brightest someone could ever smile, it's beautiful, it's like a symbol of happiness, she looks happy, she looks like art even. and art was supposed to make you feel something, maybe that could explain why my heart is trembling. a quiet curiosity was planted into my chest, brain and I knew it was only a matter of time before she sunk beneath my bones, nurtured this deep-seated unfamiliarity into love so fierce, yet blithering, carefree and unconcerned, hopefully— that I would question if I had ever been in love before.
my hand becomes one with her, skin to skin as she takes my hand for her to hold— wishing it could stay longer after the void of nothingness hugging my hand back. she introduced herself to me but all I could hear was just the thunder underneath my flesh, underneath my ribs. yuji looking at me weirdly, doesn't get used to the way I reacted, i can feel his brown big eyes practically narrowing at me, but I choose not to pay him attention.
“she's going to tutor me, please don't do anything stupid or make too much noise,” he warned me. i flutter my eyes before catching a sight of him with his eyebrows up to his forehead. I rolled my eyes before waving my hand, and dismissed him off as if it meant nothing— well, It is, indeed. I'm a quiet person, unlike him, I'm not a menace to society. “yeah, yeah, whatever,” in boredom, i said to him and brought my feet to walk away from the living room to go to the kitchen.
i take a pack of cheese out of the fridge and slam it lightly on the counter. put pressure on the counter with my two palms before letting out a sigh. looking at the invisible living room, hoping my eyes suddenly had an x-ray superpower to take a glimpse of her again but to fail. “of course, what the fuck was I thinking?” a mumble under my breath could be heard. dramatically, I put my hand to my chest— hesitation felt in my blood. as I was feeling the thunder in my heart, I wail.
my knee abruptly turns into jelly, no longer having the ability to support my body as I slide down to the floor, back sticking to the wall of the counter. “what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck— what the fuck?!” I yell in whispered, finger pointing at my heart with narrowed eyes. “what the fuck is wrong with you?” I asked, hoping there was some machine error inside of me that's gonna be the cause of whatever was happening inside.
“you like her,” there's a whisper.
I laugh humourless, forcing myself. “yeah, bless her delusional heart,” I scoff while rolling my eyes. I do not like her, in fact, I despise her. her weirdly bright smile does not give me a whole damn zoo, her honeyed voice does not calm my nerves. she's not gonna be something I be thinking about for a whole week. she's just my brother's friend. just looking at her I can tell she's gonna be an annoying person and weird. “right, she must be a bitch,” I mumble, talking gibberish just so I can convince myself.
“she's beautiful, doesn't she?” that whisper again.
I went quiet for a moment, getting pulled by nostalgia back to a moment ago. my red eyes stared at nothingness dreamingly without I realized. the smile she gave kept replaying inside my head like a broken record, “yeah, she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.” the whisper could be heard, over and over again, hypnotising me to keep thinking about her.
“you like her, don't you?”
“do I?”
the whispered whispering in my ear as I felt a hot wind clouding my ear. and that time I realized that it wasn't my head tricking me, that wasn't some demon or angel like you see in movies whispering to someone. “oh you sure do,” again with the whispering. quickly I snap my neck to the side only to find yuji with his ugly ass face close to me. “what the fuck— Yuji!” he laughed as I jumped in surprise.
he stands straight as he puts both hands inside his pocket. “you look stupid, what are you doing sitting there?” he asks, smiling knowingly while his eyebrows arise. I cleared my throat before shrugging my shoulder, “just chilling,” I mumbled. he just kept looking at me for a while before rolling his eyes. “man, you're so weird when you're in love, so fucking weird,” he sight and walk away. i stand in second, “what the fuck do you mean?” I asked, feeling offended obviously. he just waved his hands nonchalantly without looking back.
“uh oh, am I falling in love?”
OH NO, I'M FALLING IN LOVE
“is that blood?”
she looked up at me blankly, no thought behind those eyes, looking dumbfounded as she battled her eyelashes like she was trying to process the information. “y/n, is that blood?” I asked again. “no?” she answered with another question. I rolled my eyes, “that's not a question you were supposed to answer with another question,” I told her, seeing her white skirt got stained with something red. she pulled her skirt, showing me a quite big scar on her knee, “i fell,” she whimpered as if she was about to cry. her big doe eyes looking at me with quiver lips. I bit my lower lip, trying to contain myself from laughing and cooing at how cute she looked right now.
“wait here.”
I patted her head before going to the kitchen and coming back with a box of first aid kits in hand. I sit myself next to her and pull her closer by her under the knee. “you're so clumsy,” I mumble— treating her wounds. I took a glimpse of her before looking down at her knee. a light chuckle left me without I realized. there she is, eyes shut tightly, one hand covers her mouth while the other one knead with eyebrows narrowed— oh god, she's so cute.
“don't laugh,” she wailed, hitting my shoulder lightly.
again, I laugh, “sorry y/n, you're just too cute— alright, I'm done.”
after, I brought my face to look at her only to find her face changed into bright red as if all of her blood was rushing to her head. “are you okay?” I asked, worried if her wounds might be the cause of her state. “—your face is red, are you feeling hurt?” I asked again. my backhand touched her forehead, “you're burning, should we go to the doctor? I think yuji—”
“you shouldn't say something like that so casually,” she finally opened her mouth but her voice came out nearly whispering. I feel my forehead frown when the confusion consumes me. “huh? what?” she stared at me for a while, and I never knew that ‘for a while’ could bring so many things to my veins. they're doing it again, the hurt in my chest, the adrenaline rushing through my blood. my heart beating so fast it's literally banging on my flesh, so loud I'm afraid she can hear it.
she smiles, “I'm fine.”
I cleared my throat as I looked away for a second before pointing at her skirt. “go change your skirt, it's dirty. yuji might take a while to come home and I refuse to let you ride your stupid bike again after the stunt you pulled,” I said. she's open her mouth, about to protest before I look at her with a stern look, making her change her mind in a split second without me even realising. so without saying anything I went to my room and came back with a black shorts. “thanks,” she mumbled softly as her hand reached the shorts before going to the bathroom. I wait for her to change and sit in the living room, switching the tv on.
for a few minutes, I sat there in silence until she was slowly sitting back at the end of the sofa. my mind went blank with the tv noise as a background sound while pleasing her with a glance one to two— she looked straight to the tv but I know she watched nothing. pretty little hands fiddling with the fabric of my shorts that she's wearing. and maybe that's not gonna stay mine any longer since she looked better in it than me. would it be weird if I wanted her to keep the short? especially when I'm not her boyfriend.
“did yuji know you're here?” I asked, not very fond of the silence that filled the room, also trying not to corrupt my mind with something I shouldn't think about. “yeah, but he hasn't replied yet, but we made a plan a week ago, so yeah..” I nodded. just like that we flew back again to where we were before— silences.
we stay like that for a good minute until I hear soft giggles, making me turn my head to look at where the sound comes from— her. her eyes were already looking at me, “why do you keep looking at me?” she asked. I was stunned, mouth shut as I realized I never looked away from her. “you staring, am I that beautiful for you to keep your eyes on me?” she jokingly said, another fit of soft giggles leave her pretty mouth, making me smile in return. I kept looking for a while then nodded, “yeah, you're that beautiful,” I breathe. and just like that her smile quickly faded into the void and faced the other way. I feel giddy seeing her shy state and this time, my turn to giggle.
“are you shy, y/n?” I asked.
she quickly hid her face with the palms of her hands, looking away. I move closer, “are you shy, y/n?” I asked again, teasingly as I poked her shoulder. a muffled voice of squealing could be heard. she moved her shoulder as I kept on poking her. I hold her wrist and pull it out of her face only for her to stiffen her hands and giggle. “oh come on, let me see that beautiful face of yours,” I laughed a little. she shook her head and again, tried to turn away. I kept on pulling her hands, and the moment I successfully pulled her hands away, it was already too late to realize that our face was an inch away.
her cheeks were crimson red, plump lips were slightly open as her hot breath touched my cheeks. and again, everything starts to blur, noise muffled to the background. I force my lips to put on a tight line for a moment as I look into her eyes to her lips, suddenly having the urge to kiss her. it's not like I don't have the urge to kiss her every time for nearly two months, but this time? I feel like I'm gonna die and regret the way I live for the rest of my life if I don't feel the softness of her lips in mine.
“can I kiss you?” so I asked, whispering.
“yes,” she whispered back.
I never realized a single word can mean so much to me. who knows an agreement from someone can make my heart beat so fast but this time I'm not afraid if she heard the beating, I want her to hear the beating, I want her to know that my heart already belonged to her way before I have the right to, as if it was hers in the first place. my eyes widened after the second I realized, oh no, I'm falling in love.
OH, I'M FALLING IN LOVE
“are you there?” a soft voice from the other side asks.
I let out a sigh, unintentionally making a cloud of smoke in the air while I hugged my body with one hand while the other one pressed the tiny technology in my ear. “physically yes, mentally is debatable,” I told her. shivering got nailed in my body, caused by the cold weather. I chew my lips, hoping it starts to warm soon. soft smile printed on my lips after I hear angelic giggles from the other side, “oh please, don't be party pooper, I'll be there with you in a second,” she said.
I waited a moment before my body got slammed into the tree by something tiny and soft. a hand pulled my neck before the warmness touched my lips. I let out a relief breath as I made a circle around the waist of her. my eyes closed, following the way her lips moved on mine. “that's not fair, y/n, you can't corrupt me with something like that,” I complained after the kisses broke. she smiles, “but you love it.” I rolled my eyes in annoyance before smiling back at her.
she opened her bag and pulled out something pink. my eyebrows instantly lifted as I caught her eyes sparkling. “what is it?” I ask, cautiously. she wrapped my neck with the ‘something pink’ that turns out to be a scarf. “It's cold, you should wear something to keep you warm,” she said, still smiling. “but it's pink,” again, I complained. this time, it was her turn to raise her eyebrows. “yeah, and?” she asked, looking confused as if I said something stupid with the oblivion. “i know it is pink,” she chuckled.
“i don't want to wear it, it's pink. I mean, did you even look at me? the tattoo on my face? the red in my eyes?”
she became more confused, “it doesn't match my vibe,” I told her, only for her to roll her eyes. “oh please, you look cute,” she sang happily, fixing the scarf around my neck. “but I don't want to look cute, please take this off,” I argued while trying to take the scarf off. she slap my hand in return, “but I made this for you,” she pouting, eyes almost looking like a dog. I was stunned, eyes wide open with her beautiful reflection in my iris. “you made this?” she nodded, still pouting. I let out a sigh, “fine.” out of thin air, the sparkle that was before lost in her eyes now bolting back, brightening it before I even realised.
under the cold weather, those eyes and all the sparkle made me feel warm. I could wear anything pink, from head to toe, I could do anything just so I could get to see those eyes simmering with the warmth of happiness. her and those eyes, I'm willing to kiss the ground she walked to, each step, if it means her eyes would be on me.
“kuna, come on, walk faster!”
she looked behind her— me, smiling with her hand that was covered with a thick glove waving at me. “be careful, it's slippery,” I told her. she stopped for a moment to hold my hand and softly dragged me to the fun fair. I watched her frame from behind, eyeing the way her body moved, gracefully like art in motion. her cheeks blended with crimson pomegranates as if all of the splendour of winter bent to her will. people say everything was a reflection of lights, and maybe that could explain her, she was the combination of all the prettiest light that exists.
she's beautiful and adorable and warm and everything in between. the first time you meet someone you're not gonna notice the waves of their hair, but the first I meet her I notice each wave, the way she stands, and speak, and smiles, her face becomes something I'll be thinking about next week, and five months ago I don't even know she exists but now i don't know if I'll still exist if she's not here.
she's more beautiful than any flower, she's like gold at the end of a rainbow, she's like a light of sunshine beneath the thunderstorm. just like the old poem said, If I had told the sea about her, what I felt about her, it would have left its shores, its shells, its fish, and followed me. its would have been filled with curiosity about the girl who's been shaking the sky and sea, the cause of my religiously praying when I don't even believe in god.
how does she shapeshifted like this? she becomes something I admire. the things that I usually overlook now become something that I desire. how did she do that? how did she make me fall in love with her?
oh, I'm falling in love.
The number rings in his head, echoing off the inside of his skull and sinking lower and lower until his heart strings join the symphony that leaves him shaking as the memory of Harrington’s slurred voice is drowned out by the dial tone that feels harrowingly like a flatline right now.
Said I’ll go blind. Or deaf. Or just… die.
Eddie doesn’t really feel like his body belongs to him anymore, or like there’s anything left inside him other than panic and fear and that stupid, stupid shaking that he can’t suppress even as he bites his knuckles. Hard.
The pain helps a little not to startle too much when the dial tone stops and a female voice begins speaking to him. Still he almost drops the phone, cursing under his breath as he pulls his hair to collect himself and get his voice to work.
“H— Hello, Mrs Buckley? This is, uh. I’m. A friend of Robin’s, could you, uh—“
“Of course, dear,” the woman says, and Eddie feels his eyes beginning to prick with how nice she sounds even through the phone.
Does she know Steve, too? Would she worry if she knew? Would she curse Eddie for not taking him to the hospital right away? Would she blame him if anything happened?
“I’m sorry? What did you say your name was?” she asks, repeating herself apparently.
He blanks, for a whole five seconds, before he spots a note stuck to the fridge saying Don’t forget to eat, Eddie :-)
“Eddie,” he croaks. “Uh, Eddie Munson.”
“Alright, Eddie Munson, I’ll see if I can grab Robin for you. You have a good day, dear, yes?”
No. “Thanks.”
The hand clenched in his hair pulls tighter and tighter until the tears fall and he can pretend it’s from pain and not from— whatever the fuck is happening.
He waits, phone pressed to his ear with a kind of desperation he’s never really felt, and never wants to feel again. He doesn’t even know what to tell Robin; what to say. It’s not like they ever hang out or have anything to say to each other, so why would she—
“Munson?” Robin’s voice appears on the other end, a little too loud for Eddie’s certain state, and he does drop the phone this time, scrambling to catch it and only making the situation worse as it dangles by his knees.
He drops to the floor, pulling his knees to his chest and reaching for the phone again.
“Hi.”
“What do you want? How’d you even get this number? I swear, if you—“
“It’s Blue. I mean, Steve. Harrington.”
That shuts her right up, and Eddie clenches his eyes shut for a moment, hoping to keep the tremor out of his voice if only he takes a moment to breathe.
The moment stretches. And Robin’s voice is wary and quiet when she speaks again.
“What about Steve.”
Eddie rubs his face, leaving more dirt and grime to fill the tear tracks, and clenches his fist before his mouth.
“Eddie,” Robin demands, dangerous now. Nothing left of the rambling, bubbling mess he knows her to be on the school hallways. “What. About. Steve.”
“He… He’s hurt.”
There’s a bit of a commotion on the other end, before Robin declares, “I’m coming over. You tell me everything.”
“You— I mean, he’s in the hospital with my uncle, so—“
“I am. Coming. Over. And you tell me everything.”
Eddie finds himself nodding along, knowing intuitively that there is nothing that could stop her now.
“‘Kay.”
The next second, she’s hung up on him and Eddie is greeted by the flatline again. He lets out a shuddering breath and leans his head back against the wall.
Since you open ask box and request, can I get TF141 men (or Ghost and Gaz if you don't feel like to write all of them) reacting to cool, rarely smile, intimidating and stoic reader finally smiling for the first time. Let's say reader has soft spot for certain things (cat, dog, book, flower etc) and they immediately smile when they see them without realize it. Boys just keep falling harder for reader and decide to make it their mission to make reader smiles more often.
I guess that's all for now. Thank you
🦈
hello🦈 anon!! Sorry I wasn't sure you want me to write them separately or together, so I chose the latter lmao. Hope you will like it (or don't hate it), TYSM for the request :) I love this request so much since I'm always a fan of cool reader. tf141*GN!Reader, Reader's kinda tsundere word count: 1.9k
Every member of Task Force 141 saw you as a capable teammate, you went through thick and thin with them, and always have their back. On the field, your shooting accuracy and excellent combat skills saved you and the team many times, quickly clearing any threat so the mission wouldn’t be compromised. You have rarely been scolded by Price, and always dealt with your paperwork impeccably. The only problem was that you’re too stoic, they never saw you smile from the first day you joined the task force. More like a robot than a human, this is how others evaluated you, and you had an aura that made recruits afraid to speak to you.
You even smiled less than Ghost, at least the man still got some dry humor and bad jokes to spit out, but you rarely reacted to greetings except a nod, less to say about Soap and Gaz joking with you, they were lucky if you spared them a crook of your eyebrows to their teasing that day. but this only made your teammates curious —especially Soap — eager to know the person under the facade, even if it was just a little. Soap wrote down what he discovered from you every day in his journal, from how you always have your tea, to trivial habits like you would frown nearly imperceptibly when you see the cafeteria is out of your favorite sandwich. Soap would tell other men about what he finds about you today, and they would keep those details in mind too. Until the day, Laswell brought a big cake which she was gifted by others but she was unable to finish it herself. They saw your eyes brighten instantly, and an expectant smile blooms on your face. Your eyes stuck on the exquisite big cake in front of you, not aware of Gaz gaping at your smile like he saw the sun rise from the west today, how Price immediately stopped his hand while smoking his cigar so he could take a good look, even Ghost’s eyes were wide like full moon behind his mask. It wasn't until Soap’s yelp that dragged you out of your trance, and you turned around just to find all your teammates staring at you like you were an alien. “Any issues, MacTavish?” Confused, you asked Soap who made you stop staring at the cake. “You- You can smile?” “Did I?” “Well, let’s finish this quickly so it won’t left over to tomorrow” Price raised his hand to interrupt the talk before Soap could say other things “The fridge has no place to put this bloody huge cake.” After Price’s command, all of you walked and took a plate and fork. Price sliced a medium size for him, Ghost did the same. Soap took the knife and sliced a slightly bigger one for him and Gaz, but when he was about to cut one for you, you reached out your hand to beckon a “give me” gesture, which Soap obliged and handed over the handle to you. Only for him to see you slice 1/3 of that damn enormous cake and put it on your plate. “Wha- ye sure ye can eat all of ‘em ?!” His jaw dropped at the huge slice of cake that made the center of your paper plate sink, but only received an “huh” face from you. Well, his concern was unneeded, because you devoured the whole thing in 5 minutes, faster than everyone else, and stood up to cut another piece. “you really like cake ain’t you.” Gaz chuckled at the scene where you almost bury your face in the plate. “No.” “Then why are you smiling like a kid who sees their favorite toy?” Frowning, you touched your cheek to check, and oh shit, you truly were. “I-“ your face changed from :D to :| while you tried to find an excuse “It’s just Captain said that don’t leave the cake overnight, so I’m eating this much, not that I love cake.”
Even though your poor excuse, all of them knew their new goal now: bringing you cakes so they could see the pretty smile enthralled them. The first who brought you cake is Ghost, he saw a strawberry shortcake on his way back to the base, he didn’t think twice before he told the staff to wrap the cake for him. and he was sure his decision was right when he showed it to you, and you two sat in the common area. He drank the tea you made for him as appreciation while watching that pretty smile reappear on your face again. “Look who said they don’t love cakes, and eatin’ like a man who haven’t eaten in days now.” He lifted his mask to his nose to drink the tea, so when you shot him a glare, you could see the smirk spreading on his lips. “You bought it and I don’t want to waste it, that’s it.” you stabbed the fork on the cake. Ghost huffed out a laugh at your answer, but when you went back to swallow a full spoon of whipped cream, he took note in his mind to buy you the chocolate mousse he saw at the store next time, so the precious expression.
Gaz bought you an Earl Grey mille crepe cake a few days after, which was the flavor of your favorite tea. “It’s it good?” He gave you a toothly grin that you thought was too dazzling when the “not bad” slipped out your lips whilst you were busy finishing the cake. He sat beside you and ate the slice you cut for him, and he rambled about what happened today to entertain you. You pretended you were not interested, eyes never left the cake, but you memorized everything he said clearly.
Of course, Soap wouldn’t forget to dig into this breakthrough of yours. A big ‘they love CAKES!’ was written in his journal, with 2 circles highlighting the words. He considered you have eaten crepe cake and shortcake from Ghost and Gaz, so he got you a basque cheesecake. “What is this?” You tilted your head when you opened the take-out box. “basque cheesecake. Heard it from the medics.” Soap watched you attentively take a little bite at the cake, and he laughed when your face beamed up in a second. “Not bad?” He knew you just refused to admit you love cakes. You answered with your cheeks stuffed with cheesecake. “NAOW BAA” After he waved goodbye to you, he came back to his barrack, he opened his journal. a big ‘Basque cheesecake ✔️’ had been added under the circles.
The captain hadn’t let the chances to see your face gleam with happiness slip by too. As usual, you came to his office with a flawless report, and for some debrief about the next mission. When it was over and you were about to leave, he called your name to stop you from exiting. “Is there anything I forgot to tell you, Captain?” Your face was serious, without any improper or unprofessional, but it didn’t last long because Price took out a fresh cream Swiss roll. “You’re going to drool all over your shirt, sergeant.” He teased and received a little scowl from you, but the harmless scowl was unable to stop him from fixating on and mesmerized by the satisfied grin that lingered on your face when you made both of you some tea and started consuming the whole roll.
You got pampered by all 4 men of your team for months. Thanks to the high amount of exercise, you didn’t gain belly fat, and getting lots of cakes from them had you started gifting them things too. You got Ghost some nice whiskey when you came back from leave, which he gladly accepted and invited you to drink together. You gave Soap some snacks from your hometown and stationeries for journaling, and almost get squished into a dough by his tight embrace. Gaz got some game cards from you, and when he surprisingly asked you why you knew he wanted those games for a while, you just shrugged and walked away, there was no chance that you were gonna tell him you had been listening to him and Soap chatting about them. Price entered his office one day morning, and saw his box of favorite cigars and tea being placed on his desk. He realized it was you in the blink of an eye, only you would choose to secretly put gifts and refuse to leave a note indicating who you were. He just patted your head and thanked you when he met you in the training room.
Times flew fast when your life was occupied with missions and training (and cakes). Tonight you went out for a while to buy something for your teammates, since they still insisted on feeding you cakes frequently, recompensing them with gifts they loved had become your habit too. but when you searched from the common room to Price’s office, you couldn’t find any of them. Odd, you thought, you hadn’t heard them leaving the base too, you even searched each of their room, which still lacked their figures. Furrowing your brows, you decided to go back to your room, maybe you could give them tomorrow. What you didn’t expect was when you opened the door of your room, you were welcomed by Soap and Gaz’s exciting voice. “Happy birthday!” “Jesus… I was searching for all of you…” Your eyes rounded “Wait… It’s my birthday today?” “Don’t tell me ye didn’ remember!” Soap, who standing closest to you and with a birthday cake, shoved you playfully with his elbow. “I…” You glanced at the calendar hanging on your wall, unable to form words when you realized it really was your birthday today. “Come take a seat, love.” Price’s words help you fill the silence. You slowly closed the door behind you, and your gaze traveled from the elegant cake, the flames dancing on the candle, to your teammates — the people you trusted with your life. “A cake makes you stupid, sergeant?” You heard Ghost chuckle at your reaction, but you didn’t glower at him this time, because you felt tears welled up in your eyes, uncontrollably. “Oh no, lovie’s going ta cry!” Gaz joked at you while he led you to your seat. You blinked away tears before they could escape, and smack at Gaz’s bicep. “Shut up, Garrick.” The laughs and jokes filled your little room with joy, you sat there listening to Gaz and Soap banter with Ghost about how he was so selective about the cake so they could give you the best one, and as Ghost retorted back, a plate was handed to you. The biggest slice among others, full of whipped cream and fruits decorating it. You picked up the fork and started eating, the sweetness spread inside your mouth, with the fruit neutralizing it and taking the taste to a whole other level. “Ye always smile when ye eatin’ cakes, you know? really like cakes don’t ye?” You raised your head from the plate, and finding everyone looking at you, with such softness you questioned yourself if you were able to reciprocate, and you touched your cheeks, you could feel the corner of your lips curling upwards. but this time, you deepened your grin, warm and fascinating, before you picked up your fork again. “Maybe I do.”
“Y/n didn’t I tell you not to go out to the shop on your own?! Especially now that you’re showing” Chris shouted pacing around the kitchen, his hands ruffling roughly through his hair whilst he got Y/n a glass of milk. Poor Y/n sat on one of the stools in their kitchen, clutching the packet of chocolate chips to her chest tightly; her 7 month bump proudly popped.
“But I just wanted some cookies n’ I didn’t want to wake you, you’ve just gotten home Chris” She argued setting the cookies onto the cold marble counter, watching her husband aggressively open the fridge and pull out the carton.
“Y/n you know that I would go above and beyond for you, I don’t care if i’ve just ran across the world twice, I don’t want you on your own out there” He grumbled pouring out the last of the milk before throwing the carton into the recycling trash bin, his face still slightly red from when he was really angry when Y/n first came in.
“I’m sorry Chrissy” Y/n pouted tugging on her husband’s shirt, to no avail, he instead handed her the glass of milk and opened her cookies for her.
“Nope i’m allowed to be angry for at least 20 more minutes” He groaned walking to the other side of the kitchen, putting away the stuff he had brought out. Y/n felt herself smile slightly when she got this amazing idea, that same morning she had seen tiktok trends of girlfriends flashing their boyfriends during an argument.
“Ya know I still can’t believe you did that-“
With his back turned away from her, Y/n put her hair behind her shoulders, “Chris look here” She said, immediately pulling up his shirt she was wearing, revealing both of her now swollen breasts to him.
Chris' eyes just widened and his mouth opened in shock, his sentence lost in his throat as a small smile slowly found its way onto his face.
“Ya can’t jus' do that bunny, that isn’t fair” He groaned, his teeth biting onto his bottom lip to keep his smile small. His eyes following her as she pulled down his shirt to cover herself up again, smirking to herself she turned to face her treats once again, knowing she had won.
“Hm well are you still mad at me?” She asked,
“God no, are ya kiddin? Just saw my wife’s tits” He laughed walking over, picking up one of Y/n's cookies, and dipping it in milk before feeding it to her. His heart going a thousand miles an hour when he saw her wiggle in her seat, enjoying one of her many midnight snacks which had become a daily routine now.
“Baby can you get some marshmallows?”
“I don’t know bunny, might be too-“
Before Chris could protest again, Y/n had pulled up her shirt again, Chris' eyes falling to her chest causing him to sigh.
“No honey, it’s not gonna work twice in a row in one night” He groaned closing his eyes and shaking his head,
“Not even if I let ya touch them?” She teased giving him a little shake of her chest,
“I-Uh damn okay fine, but it’s gotta be a long one ok?”
“Fine by me baby” Y/n smiled watching her husband grab the mallows, he gave her one hell of a wet kiss before passing over her newly acquired marshmallows. His eyes trained on the globes under her shirt,
“Honey-“
“Just touch them”
Summary: When someone at the station starts harassing (Y/n), she tries to keep it to herself. She doesn't want to cause a commotion. Until the boys witness it and start a fight.
Enjoy.
"Morning," A bright grin spread across Evan's lips when his eyes locked on Hen walking sluggishly towards the ambulance.
He relished in the frown that took over her face and the way she tilted her chin down and rose her brows when she looked his way. Her eyes gave away everything. She was feeling rough after their night out last night. Her eyes were barely open and she was walking like she was dragging her feet while her shoulders were hunched forward.
She would rather be anywhere but on shift. She wanted to be back in bed.
A grimace pulled at Hen's lips when she looked Evan up and down. He was dressed properly, no slacks, he didn't have his trousers on backwards or his shirt inside out. He didn't look like he had crawled through the front door at two in the morning and then had to head back out the door six hours later.
"Why aren't you hungover?" Hen tucked her clipboard under her arm and tightened her grip on her mug of coffee. Even the smell of coffee hadn't done anything to liven her up yet, she felt half dead.
Her and Evan had gone out drinking last night while (Y/n) stayed home with Chris and Eddie was on the night shift into the day shift today. It had been good for the two of them to catch up and have a laugh, but Hen was regretting choosing the night before a shift to have their night out. Next time, she wasn't making that mistake again.
"Because I can hold my liquor," He quipped back, holding his chin up high while he tightened his arm around (Y/n)'s shoulders and tugged her back into his side. He pressed his lips to the back of her head when (Y/n) reached her hand up to hold his hand that was on her shoulder.
"Hm." Hen scrunched her nose and continued walking towards the ambulance while (Y/n) and Evan walked down towards the back of the station.
"I'm gonna find Eddie and hit the gym."
Evan knew he would be fine today. He would do a quick work out before they had their first call of the day. Then by the time he and (Y/n) headed back home tonight, he would be tired enough to sleep through the night. Evan had a lot of trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. It was why he functioned so well on night shifts and when they pulled a double shift. He had too much energy and needed to have a burn-out in order to catch a full nights rest.
He squeezed (Y/n)'s shoulder and kissed her temple again before he let her slide out from under his arm and move towards the stairs.
(Y/n) climbed the stairs and headed up into the annex towards the kitchen. She glanced her eyes around, surprised to find no one else in the kitchen. She guessed Chimney was somewhere downstairs tidying up and sorting out like Hen was. And Bobby would probably be in his office sorting through paperwork. She already knew Eddie would be in the gym, that was his routine and why Evan was heading that way now.
Idling through the kitchen, (Y/n) headed over to the fridge and grabbed one of her juice bottles out before she moved over to the cupboard above the sink.
Bobby let them put any snacks, biscuits and drinks in the cupboards and everyone had their own little baskets and sections in the kitchen. (Y/n) knew her boy's routines. They would have a protein shake each before they went out on their first call of the day so (Y/n) may as well grab them one now in case the bell went off soon.
"Jesus, Evan." She grumbled quietly when she looked up into the cupboard and realised how far back Evan had pushed the pack of shakes. He clearly thought someone might come along and take a few and since he was over six foot, it was easy for him to put them at the back of the shelf. Ready so only he could reach them if he wanted one.
(Y/n) pushed up on her toes and pressed her hips into the counter, barely skimming her hand along the plastic packaged bottless that she couldn't quite grasp.
A gasp burned at the back of her throat when she felt a hand suddenly clamp down on her hip and a chest push into her back.
For a brief second, (Y/n) thought it was one of her boys and her first guess was Eddie. She knew if it were Evan behind her, she would of felt his chin perch on her head and he would tease her straight away for not being able to reach. Evan had a tendancy to hide things in high places because he was taller than both (Y/n) and Eddie and he loved them to ask him for help, despite how much it annoyed Eddie.
But she quickly realised it wasn't either of her men. Eddie had a firmer chest and broader shoulders than whoever was behind her.
"Need some help?"
Panic built up in (Y/n)'s stomach and burned up into her chest. That definitely wasn't either of her men. That was a voice she only faintly recognised, it wasn't someone she had the pleasure of working with on most of her shifts.
"I- I got it." (Y/n) held her breath and pushed further into the counter to try and get away from him. Her finger hooked into the plastic but whoever was behind her managed to drag the pack down and let it land on the sink with a thud.
When it didn't feel like he was going to move away from caging her in, (Y/n) clung to the counter and shuffled to the right.
Her arms felt tense and stiff at her sides as she tried to take a deep breath and compose herself. She tore into the six-pack and removed two bottles before she tossed the pack back up. Evan wouldn't mind that (Y/n) had gotten them out because she wasn't drinking or taking them, she was getting them for him and Eddie. Anyone else tried, and they would be sorely reprimanded.
"Thanks," She mumbled quietly, although (Y/n) wasn't sure she had anything to thank him for. But she wanted to keep the peace and be civil, it wouldn't do well starting an argument this early in the morning, and he hadn't technically done anything wrong.
"It's (Y/n), right?"
She nodded, trying to smile as she placed all three drinks down on the counter beside her. She pushed her hip into the cupboard and crossed her arms over her chest. She recognised his face. He was called Darren. They didn't really work closely together, he seemed to be on most of her opposite shifts, they didn't see much of each other.
"You're Buck's girlfriend, aren't you?" He gripped the counter while he stuffed his other hand into his pocket and leaned to the left with one leg crossed over the other. There was something about his smile that made (Y/n) feel on edge but she didn't know why.
"Yeah… I'd best go find him."
She pinned two bottles in the crook of her elbow and grabbed her own drink before she went to walk past him.
"Or are you Eddie's girl?"
The way he said that made (Y/n)'s blood run cold and fizzle down to her toes. She could feel herself becoming lightheaded already. She didn't want to have this conversation. His tone was crude and his smile was sickly, he was looking for some sort of argument or a way to tease and prod at her.
(Y/n), Eddie and Evan had all been lucky so far. No one at the station had made one remark about any of them being in a poly relationship. No one cared. They didn't tut or laugh or tease them or make any sort of crude comments. Bobby was thrilled for all of them and Hen and Chimney were accepting and treated it as if it were such a normal thing around here.
No one else in the station cared or made a scene. (Y/n) thought they had done so well not to have any controversy or any looks or remarks.
Darren had never said anything to (Y/n) before. He barely spoke to her when she was on shift with him, they seemed to move in different circles. So why was he bothering with her now?
"I'm gonna go," There was no way (Y/n) was hanging around Darren when he was looking down at her like that.
When he clamped his hand down on the counter in front of her to act as a barrier in her path, (Y/n) frowned. She took a deep breath, kept her back straight and rammed her side into his arm with enough force to knock him back. She bypassed him and turned the corner with her head held high and a fluttering of panic burning away like an ember in her chest.
Darren had other plans.
Both his hands clamped down on (Y/n)'s hips tight enough to leave imprints and he spun her round and pushed her until her back clashed into the fridge.
She choked on her breath, feeling like her lungs had been shocked into a restart as pain jolted down her spine and along the back of her neck. Her arms bashed out in front of her, dropping all the plastic bottles down to their feet with a clatter but she didn't care.
Her arms crossed in front of her and she thrust them into his chest to push him back but he rammed his knee into the fridge between her thighs to pin her in place.
"Get off! What the Hell are you doing?!" (Y/n) couldn't hide the panic from her voice.
She'd never been in a situation like this before.
A few people had catcalled her over the years, some had been handsy or frisky when she went out to night clubs, but no one had ever actually grabbed her or tried to pin her up like this. He was mad. He had to have a screw loose to be doing this. They were colleagues. They were on shift, it wasn't like they were in a bar or a dark street. Anyone could come up the stairs and see what Darren was doing.
Maybe that was what he wanted. Maybe he wanted to embarrass (Y/n) or have one of the boys to see so he could pretend she was trying to come onto him. Whatever he was doing, he was certainly going to make an enemy of (Y/n) whether this was a joke or not.
(Y/n)'s pupils blew wide and her heart dropped down to her stomach so fast she felt like she had fallen through the floor when Darren grabbed her. One hand stayed on her hip but his other hand suddenly pinched (Y/n)'s jaw in his harsh, cold grip.
He squeezed his fingers into her cheeks and tilted her head up so he could leer over her with a sickening smirk.
"This is what you're into, isn't it? You're balling every guy in the station. Don't you want me too?"
He leaned down close enough so (Y/n) could smell the toothpaste on his breath and see the white flecks lingering at the corners of his mouth. When it looked like he was about to move in to kiss her, (Y/n) fought in his grip until she could wrench her head to the side. She wouldn't look at him. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction.
With his knee pinned between her thighs, it gave (Y/n) the angle to suddenly jolt her leg up and smash her knee into his groin. It was enough to loosen his grip on her jaw when he doubled over and spat a few curse words her way.
Her eyes snapped closed and she cried out when he slammed her head back into the fridge.
(Y/n) kept her arms crossed and thrust them down on his shoulders, forcing him back until she could stumble forwards and push him down onto his back. She ran, doubled over with one hand cradling the back of her head and her other arm around her stomach to try and tell herself to breathe and calm down and stop panicking.
"S-stay the fuck away from me!" (Y/n) spat down towards him, trying to keep her voice quiet in case anyone was close enough to hear them. She didn't want to cause a scene.
She couldn't tell anyone what he'd done. Telling Bobby would spark an internal investigation because Bobby wouldn't let harrassment go unpunished in his station. And (Y/n) didn't want to cause trouble or more paperwork and have everyone know and look at her. And she couldn't tell the boys. They would lose their minds if they found out what he'd done and (Y/n) wouldn't risk them getting reprimanded for starting a fight.
Straightening up, (Y/n) bolted towards the stairs, leaving the drinks long-forgotten on the floor next to Darren.
Her feet skidded and slipped beneath her as she jolted down the stairs, clinging to the rail to stop herself from falling down on her bum. The last thing she needed was an accident or an injury after that commotion.
Her heart lit up like a fire igniting in her chest when she saw Eddie at the bottom of the stairs. He was stood just to the side of the stairs, tucking his shirt into his trousers. He'd clearly gotten changed from being in the gym earlier which was presumably where Evan still was.
"Morning babe." He pulled his trousers a bit higher up on his hips before he reached his hand out and gripped the bottom of the railing.
Eddie's eyes narrowed a little at how fast (Y/n) came speeding down the stairs and his jaw slacked when she reached out for him before her feet touched the floor. Her arms deadlocked around his neck and she crashed into him, slamming her chest into his so fast Eddie had to take a few steps back to steady the pair of them. He locked his arms around her waist and pressed his lips against the side of her head, grinning as he kissed her temple.
"I guess you both missed me last night, huh?" He mumbled quietly against her temple as he started to rub his hand up and down her back. But his smile began to fade when he realised (Y/n) was shaking against him. "Babe, everything okay?"
(Y/n) tightened her arms around Eddie's neck and burrowed her face into his neck, breathing harshly against his skin when he tried to pull back. She pressed her chest so tightly into his that she could almost feel his heartbeat pulsing through his skin.
It was hard to fight off the tears threatening to pour down her face, but they were at work. (Y/n) didn't want to cause a scene or make issues and she didn't want to cry on shift. She had to compose herself and carry on as if everything was okay.
It wasn't as if she was partnered up with Darren, she barely went out on any calls with him and she wasn't likely to in the future either. She just had to make sure she didn't bump into him around the station- and pray he wouldn't bump into the boys either. And everything would be alright.
"I missed you."
She kept her face tucked into his neck and her lips tickled his skin when she wouldn't pull away enough to speak clearly. But Eddie still heard her and he shivered when she kissed his neck.
"You're shaking because you missed me? I don't buy it. Try again."
Eddie tightened his hands on (Y/n)'s hips and leaned back until she finally lifted her head to look up at him. He could tell something wasn't quite right and she couldn't fool him. She was shaking because of something else, not because she hadn't seen Eddie since early yesterday evening.
"I felt a bit panicky, that's all. I'm okay, just needed a hug." She could see the wheels turning in his mind when his eyes narrowed and he pursed his lips. The small hum he let out showed he was a little more convinced, but not totally accepting that everything was okay.
But he was willing to let it go for now and that was all that (Y/n) needed. She reached her hand round to cup his jaw and pressed a tender, if eager, kiss to his lips that did the trick to calm them both down and make him groan. He leaned forward into the kiss and grazed his teeth over her bottom lip but he growled against her lips again when the bell sounded. He tilted his forehead into hers when they parted and dug his fingers into her hip.
"Stopped by the bell," He murmured against her lips before he turned them both around to face the truck.
Off they went.
***
"You sure you're okay… you're rather quiet babe." Evan kept his voice low enough that (Y/n) barely heard his words. He hovered his lips against the side of her head and swooped his arm around her waist, reeling her into him until her back was pressed up against his chest.
He knew (Y/n) had woken up with the same level of energy as him this morning and she had seemed fine when they arrived to work. But she had barely spoken a word at the dinner table and she hadn't eaten much either. Evan didn't like it when she went quiet, it made him worry and then he would automatically fill the air because he hated silence.
"Just drifting, I guess."
She forced herself to smile and leaned her head back on Evan's shoulder, reaching her hand up so she could cup his cheek and press a tender kiss against his jaw.
She didn't feel shaky like she had this morning and being busy on shift had made her feel a lot better. But what happened this morning had dampened her mood a lot and (Y/n) felt like she had deflated. She didn't feel the energy to start a conversation or join in with the team, she just wanted to sit in silence and dwell for a while.
A grimace pulled on Evan's lips and he leaned forward to tuck his face into (Y/n)'s shoulder when the bell sounded. "At least we've had lunch," He kissed her neck and smiled as they both moved towards the stairs. He was glad they had managed to get through lunch today without rushing or gobbling food down and then feeling sick. They got to eat in peace and relax for ten minutes afterwards before the bell went off.
Evan's arm stayed looped around (Y/n)'s waist as they headed down the stairs, merged together like they were conjoined and it made (Y/n) relax. Her heart fluttered in her chest and her stomach jumped when Evan pushed further into her hips as they jogged down the stairs, but it was such a good feeling compared to the panic she had felt all morning.
Evan tilted his head back and listened to the speaker as he and (Y/n) moved to stand with the others in front of Bobby. This was a big call. A large fire was spreading through a field and catching the trees on fire. No casualties as of yet.
"I want everyone out on this call please." Bobby started pointing to divert people where he needed them. The whole station was going to be out on this one. "Hen, take the ambulance in case we have any casualties. Buck, Chim, Rhonda, head in truck one." He pointed around the floor and motioned for them to get their gear and head into the truck.
"Meet you there." Evan pecked the side of (Y/n)'s head and smiled into her skin when she squeezed his wrist before he unravelled from her and moved to grab his stuff.
"(Y/n), truck two."
She found herself nodding along, about to smile until she saw who else Bobby was motioning towards the second truck.
Oh no. Please no!
(Y/n)'s feet started to move before she knew what she was doing and she hurried over towards the locker. Her arms began to tremble as she slid them into her jacket and grabbed her helmet. Darren was going in truck two. He was going to be within close proximity of her. Why couldn't she head in the other truck with Evan? Why was Bobby doing this to her?
If (Y/n) asked someone to trade or she climbed into the other truck, someone would say she was doing it to be with Evan. She had to work alongside him, that was the agreement they all had. They could work alongside each other on shift but they couldn't always partner up or try to be together all the time. They had to work within the team, not just with each other. (Y/n) couldn't switch trucks without causing a commotion or raising questions and that was the last thing she wanted to do.
Her throat began to close up and she could feel tears welling in her eyes as her body started to tremble all over. She couldn't breathe. This wasn't fair. She knew what Darren would do, he would sit as close to her as he could. He would strike up a conversation and force her to be civil and pretend he was being kind when really he would try and torment her.
Maybe if she threw up she could hang back at the station. But would anyone say something if she did? Would Darren know she was avoiding him? Could she avoid him?
A fire sparked to life in (Y/n)'s chest when her eyes landed on a familiar mop of chocolate brown hair.
Eddie!
He was making a beeline for the second truck. He would be in there with her. This was her saving grace. She could sit with Eddie or just sit opposite him because he would be enough to ward Darren away from her. He wouldn't try anything if one of her partners was in the truck with them and if he did, Eddie would notice and he wouldn't let anything slide.
Shivers rolled down (Y/n)'s spine and through to her fingertips as she started to run towards the truck. She hazardly leaned around Bobby so she could toss her helmet in the compartment before she clambered up into the truck.
Eddie was sat next to the window and there was a seat free next to him.
(Y/n) didn't waste a second. She moved across and landed down in the seat with a thump. Her hands started to shake when she coiled her belt around her chest and clipped it in, but she could feel herself relaxing already. And when Eddie looked down at her with that dopey grin and handed her a headset, (Y/n) found his smile contagious.
Her smile began to fade when she realised who had sat down next to her on her right.
That was on purpose.
Darren could have chosen any of the two seats across from her. He didn't have to plonk himself down next to her but he did because he was doing this to torment her. He was getting payback for her thumping him earlier and brushing off his horrible advances. Surely he wouldn't try anything when Eddie was right there?
(Y/n) did her level best to keep the smile on her face but she wouldn't give Darren a single glance. She shifted round in her seat so her body was turned towards Eddie just as two more colleagues piled in. They were all sat together, squashed like sardines and a steady conversation floated through the speakers when Bobby got in the driver's seat and started their journey.
Her knees tensed together and her thighs quaked from how tightly she was pressing them together. She shifted her legs a little more to the left until her knees bumped into Eddie's thigh. He was sat with one hand on his thigh and the other arm resting casually against the window like he was posing for a picture and it made (Y/n) smile again.
When she felt Darren lean her way, whether it was on purpose or not she didn't care. She leaned into Eddie until her face was nuzzled into his florescent jacket and her arms were pressing into his side.
Eddie looked away from the window and glanced down at (Y/n) with a soft smile. But when she burrowed closer into his side, he took a deep breath and tilted his head back to see who was sat next to her. The seats weren't exactly large or spacious but they weren't tiny either, she shouldn't feel squashed or hemmed in.
Something unsettled Eddie but he didn't know why. He moved his right arm up and looped it around the back of (Y/n)'s shoulders so she could lean into his chest. His hand curled around her shoulder and he glided his fingertips up and down her arm while her head pressed into his chest.
"Okay?" He murmured into the top of her hair so it wouldn't go through the speakers and catch anyone's attention.
He felt her nod into his chest and it was enough to calm him down and reassure him that she wasn't suddenly feeling panicked or scared about anything. His lips pressed to the top of her head before he went back to looking out the window while his hand rhythmically rubbed up and down her arm to keep her calm.
***
(Y/n) swiped the helmet from her head and dropped it down on the floor along with her jacket and gloves. She left them next to Hen's equipment for the time being and moved to grab the hose so she could wind it up and lock it away in the truck.
The fire had taken a while to put out.
Half the trees in the open field had caught alight and were now burnt to cinders. The grass was dead and crunched beneath their boots along with the black and grey flakes of ash on the floor. At least they had managed to put the fire out before it spread too far into the surrounding area. And they had no casualties to take care of this time which was another relief.
Sweat rolled down the back of (Y/n)'s neck and slithered beneath the collar of her shirt and she rolled her shoulders to try and get rid of the feeling. Her sweaty palms reached down for the hose and she held it in her left hand and started to slowly coil it up.
She wound it from her wrist and down around her elbow in a large circle as she walked back towards the truck. They were almost finished packing all the equipment away, then they could get back to the station.
Once the hose was locked away, (Y/n) retraced her steps and grabbed her equipment and the few other helmets that had been piled up on the floor when the fires were all out. She made her way round the back of the truck to the other side and started neatly lining everything up in the compartment. If the helmets weren't piled together and stacked carefully, nothing else would fit in the small compartment.
"Alright there?"
The helmet in (Y/n)'s hands toppled down onto her boot before it bounced off and crashed on the floor next to her.
What was he doing? Where was everyone else? Couldn't someone round the corner so Darren wouldn't dare try anything? What had (Y/n) done to upset or annoy him enough to make him try and torment her like this? How was this any fun for him?
"Fine." (Y/n) kept her tone level and her voice loud so he wouldn't think he was intimidating her at all.
She leaned down and grabbed the helmet, trying to stop her sweaty hands from trembling when she shoved the helmet back with a thud and slammed the compartment shut. She wanted to find someone else on the team- someone she trusted, and hover by them. She didn't want to be anywhere near Darren, and especially not when no one else was around.
"Where are you going?" His tone was sickly sweet and the smile on his lips looked somewhat devilish and cruel. But it was the look in his eyes that set (Y/n) on edge and made her want to back away.
When he reached out, either to grab or touch her, (Y/n) flung her arm out to bat him away as she took a few cautious steps back.
"I told you this morning, stay away from me." There was no point side-stepping this conversation when (Y/n) didn't want to speak to him. She wasn't playing nice or talking pleasantries with him, she wanted to be as far away from Darren as possible and she wasn't going to talk to him unless it was strictly necessary.
"Why? Don't you have a thing for the guys at our station?"
"What are you trying to do?" (Y/n) rose her shoulders and held her hands out at her sides as anger boiled through her. She couldn't see his point or why he was doing this, was it fun for him? Did he relish in causing problems and making her uneasy? Did he have a vendetta against her? "Or do you just like being rejected?"
She tossed the insult his way with a look of hatred burning in her eyes. If he wanted to be rejected so badly (Y/n) would keep doing it the more he tried to mess with her. She had no problem telling him to get lost and stay away if he somehow thrived off of that, but it was getting ridiculous now.
She saw him coming.
She saw the way he lunged forward the moment she insulted him and it almost made her smile. (Y/n) lashed her arm out and grabbed his wrist, twisting it away from her before she reached forward and slapped him across the face.
"You're a bastard." Her free hand reached out for the truck to steady herself while she tried to turn around and leave.
(Y/n) needed to get back near the field and out from the shadows cast by the truck and the ambulance. She was penned in behind here, hidden from plain sight with someone she didn't trust and was starting to fear. (Y/n) needed to be somewhere where the rest of the team could see her so Darren couldn't try and play these games with her anymore.
But she didn't get far before he reached out and grabbed her before she could round the back of the truck.
Her body shuddered and her arms thrashed out in front of her but it didn't do anything when Darren's hands pushed her back into the truck. But instead of grabbing her chin like he had done this morning, his hand latched around her throat. The action made tears automatically well up in (Y/n)'s eyes and her lips parted but no air came in or out of her system.
She could feel her boots scraping against the grass, leaving indents and slash marks in the mud where she tried to hold her balance and push up to somehow allow herself to breathe.
Both her hands moved to grab at his wrist and try to claw at his face but she couldn't do very much when his other hand pinned her wrist into the truck and a clatter that resounded through her ears.
Why was he doing this?
(Y/n) tried to slam her shoulders back into the truck and find the momentum to push forward and thrust her weight onto him but he had her pinned like she was glued to the truck. His fingers dug into her neck like pinchers or sharp teeth puncturing into her neck and if she had enough breath, she would have hissed at the feeling.
Tears slid down her face as her shoulders burned and thrashed back into the truck and her back slid down when her feet started to slide in the dirt.
"Isn't this what you want?" His words leered in her ear and made her shiver and (Y/n) closed her eyes as tightly as she could so she wouldn't have to see his face hovering over hers. "How rough do you like it, sleeping with the whole team?"
He wouldn't let go. He wouldn't let her breathe. Stars were dancing across her eyes and blinkering in her vision. She was going to pass out.
(Y/n) did her best to scratch her own nails up and down his exposed arm to cause him some pain and try to get him to release her or just let her breathe. Her throat was starting to burn, his fingers were crushing her windpipe like it was a plastic bottle. He was going to damage her throat he he carried on for much longer.
Stop. Stop. Stop!
"Oi! What the fuck are you doing?!" Evan's dark, clawing voice ripped through the air but (Y/n) barely heard a word he said over the static building up in her ears.
When she opened her eyes, black dots sparkled in front of her like stars twinkling in the sky and she couldn't see Darren leering in front of her anymore. Her body tensed and pushed further back into the truck and her hands let go to slam back into the truck when she felt Evan beside her. She tried to brace herself and remain calm and as still as possible so Evan could get this maniac off of her.
Evan braced one hand on Darren's shoulder and moved the other to his wrist which he twisted to the right until he felt the joint tremor and jolt beneath his touch. He ripped Darren's fingers away from (Y/n)'s throat and pushed him back until he was stumbling over his feet.
Evan spared a quick glance over at (Y/n) and his heart dropped to his stomach when she slid down the truck and landed on her bum with a thud. Her arms cocooned to her chest and she sat, gasping and coughing for air like she had been drowning.
A sheet of red clouded Evan's vision, causing his eyes to squint, his nose to scrunch up and his upper lip to curl into a rabid snarl.
When Darren tried to slam his hands into Evan's arms to get him to let go, Evan scrunched Daren's shirt in his fists and yanked him closer. He didn't think twice before he thrust his head forward and slammed his temple down into Darren's nose until he heard it crack. The pain that blinded Evan's forehead and struck down behind his eyes faded out with the adrenaline that overpowered everything else. And he watched the blood pour down from Darren's nose, finally letting go of him to watch Darren stumble backwards and cradle his nose with a howl.
(Y/n) moved her shaking hands to touch her throat that felt like it was swollen up. Her skin felt raw as if she had been set on fire and her lungs were heaving and aching in her chest, trying to scramble for as much air as she could. It left her sat on the floor, wheezing and spluttering as her chest rose and fell horribly.
"Buck- what are you doing, what's going on?"
Her eyes started to focus again when Eddie's voice rang out through the air and she managed to turn her head to see him speeding across to them with Hen and Bobby following close behind.
Had they heard the commotion? Did they hear Evan start to shout and Darren scream in pain?
Oh God, they were going to have to find out what Darren had done now. (Y/n) would have to make a statement of how he had been acting towards her. This was the last thing she wanted.
She could feel the tears pouring down her face before Eddie even got close to her. He looked perplexed, wanting to comfort her but also wanting to stop Evan from making this situation any worse. Their partner was stood leering over Darren with clenched fists and his shoulders tensed and hunched up, ready to start a brawl here in front of everyone. But Eddie had to go down on his knees next to (Y/n) because she was clearly hurt and she was sobbing, that meant she was in more need of help right now.
His hands reached out for her and he shuffled closer so he could cup her face in his hands. His thumbs brushed across her cheeks, wiping away the torrential downpour of tears that made his heart shatter.
"Sweetheart, what's happened?" Eddie kept his voice low and he dared to trace his thumb along (Y/n)'s lower lip before he held her chin and carefully tilted her head up so he could see why she was gasping so badly.
His blood ran cold when he saw the discolouration around her neck in the shape of fingerprints.
It was hard for Eddie to control the rage burning up inside of him but he did his best to stop himself from moving away or saying something he shouldn't. They were on shift and Evan had already started throwing punches by the look of things. They didn't need Eddie getting involved too.
He pressed his fingers beneath (Y/n)'s jaw and felt her pulse until her hand clamped down on his wrist and she leaned forward. She tucked her face into his neck and pressed herself as close into his chest as she could until her shaking started to make Eddie tremble too. He curled an arm around her waist and pressed his lips to the top of her head.
"Buck- Buck stop! That's enough!" Bobby wrapped both his arms around Evan's biceps and pinned his arms behind him. He took three steps back and dragged Evan with him after Evan pulled his knee up and smashed it into Darren's groin.
Hen moved to stand in front of him and she reached out to give Darren a nudge until he flopped back and sat down on the floor. He had blood gushing down from his broken nose, drenching the rest of his face and now he was sat groaning and whimpering. He needed to sit down before he fell down.
"What are you doing?"
"I walked round the corner and found him pinning (Y/n) to the truck by her throat! The bastard was strangling her so I taught him a lesson." Evan pulled his arms out of Bobby's grip and stumbled forward. He wasn't about to lunge into another attack but he didn't want to be restrained.
There was no way Evan would just stand there and watch someone attack his girlfriend in broad daylight, while they were on shift no less. Whatever Darren thought he was doing, he wasn't about to get away with it and if they weren't at work, Evan would have given him more than a bruised ego and a broken nose. He barely knew Darren as it was, he didn't work with him on many shifts and he didn't think (Y/n) did either. He couldn't see why he would suddenly attack her out of nowhere but Evan didn't really care why.
Nothing Darren said would explain this and he wasn't going to get away with it.
(Y/n) scrunched her fingers into Eddie's shirt and moved her head to press her face into his shoulder when his hands slid round to cup her hips. He kept his lips pressed against her head and gently lifted her up with him.
Once they were both back on their feet, Eddie nudged (Y/n) back until she was propped up against the truck and he was stood between her legs. His fingers squeezed soothingly into her hips and he tilted his head to the side, pressing his temple against the side of her head while his lips hovered over her cheek near the corner of her mouth.
"Did he do something this morning? You came downstairs in a panic… was that because of him?" Eddie kept his voice quiet as he kissed the corner of her mouth and nudged his nose against hers.
There had to be more to it than this. Darren couldn't just attack (Y/n) out of the blue, he had to have a reason no matter how stupid it was. And Eddie refused to believe something hadn't been wrong this morning when (Y/n) was almost slipping into a panic attack.
Coupled with the way he'd seen her burrow into his side in the truck to distance herself from Darren cemented everything in his mind.
"Sweetheart, tell me."
(Y/n) closed her eyes and slid her hands up Eddie's chest to cup his neck. She tried to stop her breathing from running away without her but it was hard when the shaking wouldn't subside and her chest felt like it was restarting itself. She knew she would have to explain. She couldn't hide this from them and Bobby would need an explanation soon for a report about all of this.
Her nose brushed against Eddie's cheek as she leaned up to whisper in his ear. "He cornered me in the kitchen, he t… he tried to pin me up… said I was fucking half the station."
(Y/n)'s blood ran cold when Eddie tensed up against her like he was turning to stone before her eyes.
A jolt ran down her spine when Eddie smashed his fist into the side of the truck and turned around so quickly (Y/n) barely saw him move. Her heart jumped up into her throat while a stone set deep in her stomach. She stumbled forward, reaching her hands out to latch them around Eddie's bicep and pull him back before he had chance to get near Darren. She couldn't be the cause of any more fights or arguments.
"Eddie no-"
"He tried it on this morning! The jealous little prick tried to hurt her this morning too."
"She was asking for it."
(Y/n) pushed herself into Eddie's back and pressed her face into the back of his shoulder, keeping her arms tightly bound around his bicep. She felt his hand reach back to clamp down on her hip, making sure she stayed behind him and so he could ground himself to her so he didn't go and start a fight he desperately wanted to win.
"You'd better shut up before I break your neck!" Evan shook off Bobby's hold when he tried to reach out for him again. It was Darren they needed to restrain, not Evan.
He turned his back on the man sat on the floor, coughing and spewing up blood that was pouring down from his nose. He made a beeline over for his partners despite the fury burning deep within his eyes and the blood rushing along his neck to taint his face.
"Enough! Hen, take him back to the station in the ambulance, I'll deal with your disciplinary action when we get back. You three, in the truck please before I have to write you up too." Bobby didn't want to have to do any more paperwork than necessary and he wasn't going to tell Evan off when he was defending his partner. But he couldn't have them fighting any more than this.
"Are you alright?" Evan ran his hands up and down (Y/n)'s arms and kissed the back of her head while she loosened her grip on Eddie's arm so he could turn around and face them both.
She found herself nodding but neither of them believed her. (Y/n) wasn't even sure she believed herself.
Her throat was killing and throbbing and aching and it felt like her neck had been stretched. Her chest was still shuddering and quaking and her heart was battering in her chest like it was about to give out.
(Y/n) let herself sink back into Evan's chest while Eddie went back to cupping her hips and leaned over so he could kiss her temple.
"Don't worry, he won't dare come anywhere near you again. I'll break his legs if he does."
