Camilla Diaz. Cameron Bryce. August Hamilton. All people who Aru had kissed in her school productions, and the newest addition to the list? Jay Parker Sanchez.

He was beautiful, to say the least. His half-Latino half-Indian self with the tannest skin and the grayest eyes was smooth, charismatic and effortlessly funny.

Aiden hated him.

Aru was supposed to kiss Jay in the show they were in, and while Aiden was ridiculously proud of his girlfriend for landing the lead ("Of course you will, Shah, you're the president of the Drama Club.") he was not happy that Pretty Boy Sanchez was kissing Aru. In rehearsals.

But what if he kissed her in real life?

She had no reason to say no.

Gods, he was jealous. Again.

He thought back to the last kiss-ee of Aru's- August Hamilton. By far the best one to kiss his girlfriend in a show. They had pulled Aiden aside one day and had a long, in-depth conversation about boundaries and how "while Aru's pretty and all, she's your girlfriend." August had made no advances on Aru, and had been plenty respectful of their relationship, even jumping on the 'aruden' train that was circulating around school.

Aiden had a feeling Jay Sanchez would not share the same morals.

He found his Shah at her locker, laughing and smiling as Pretty Boy Sanchez spoke to her animatedly, waving a red rose around in his hand.

Was he going to give it to her?!

Aiden booked it to her locker, ignoring the arched eyebrow from previously mentioned August, trying to maintain a cool expression as he snaked an arm around Aru's waist like he had a hundred times before.

"Hey, Shah," he said as he pecked her on the cheek. Aru blushed slightly- she always did when he snuck up on her- and kissed him back before leaning on his shoulder. "Jay," he nodded in the direction of the glittering boy. His curly hair brushed his eyebrows as Jay bopped his head in acknowledgement, barely tearing his eyes away from Shah.

"So- Starbucks? 5pm?" He smirked at Aru, shooting finger guns at her.

Aru frowned slightly, trying to keep an air of politeness. "Wait a minute, Jay, no-"

But he was gone, jogging off into the crowd of kids, sending her one last wink before disappearing.

He turned to Aru, a wave of possessiveness coming over him. "Starbucks?"

She batted a hand at him, huffing at the interaction. "It's nothing. And I'm not going. It's fucking annoying that he thinks he can just say shit like that and leave- as if I'm going to even think about saying yes!" She threw her hands up in the air and banged the door to her locker shut. Aru leaned into him, and Aiden wrapped his arms around her again, practically walking and cuddling her at the same time. Lunch had started so all their classmates had gone outside and the hallway was empty.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that. It must have been frustrating not being listened to," he said sympathetically.

"Like hell it was," she groused. "And you, oh- Wifey, you were so jealous. 'Hey, Jay,'" she imitated in a comically deep voice, craning her neck in an overexaggerated head nod. "That's what you were like."

"No I wasn't!" He shoved her playfully, and she shoved him back, falling into his arms with a sigh. "I just... you seemed uncomfortable!"

She laughed loudly, throwing her head back. "Yeah, I guess. A bit. I'm glad you were there." She squeezed him into a hug, and Aiden squeezed back.

He was the reason to say no.

"I'll always be there to save you from theatre fuckboys," he whispered solemnly. They burst out laughing, Aiden explaining his title for the boy- Pretty Boy Sanchez, and Aru saying he toooootallyyyy had a crush on Jay.

Sure, Jay Parker Sanchez was pretty, but he was Wifey and she was Shah.

And Aiden was a better kisser, anyway.
