i like to headcannon that kinyonga was in Battle For The Pridelands just like hodari was, so they could have met then! or they could have met before, maybe even introduced to each other by the lion guard and tasked with spying on the outlands!! they'd be great friends, maybe even lovers if you see them that way!! :D

kinyonga meeting makuu versus kinyonga meeting kiburi would be veryyyy different - meeting makuu makes a lot more sense. hodari probably shows kinyonga where he spends most of his time, with makuu's float! so she gets introduced to makuu that way. i feel like makuu would have learned to respect smaller animals more by then, so he probably thinks kinyonga's ability is "useful". maybe it's even him who suggests she'd be a good asset for the pridelanders army! i feel like kinyonga would be timid at first but she trusts hodari :] maybe kinyonga would be under protection by makuu too

if kinyonga met kiburi's float? bitttt different. kiburi doesn't really believe small animals can do much if anything. although, based on some of my pal nikki's ideas, i think it'd be funny if kiburi and makuu got captured by humans and were saved by the little guys - the skinks, hodari and kinyonga working together to free em. that'd definitely knock some sense into those two lol, probably not enough for kiburi to change up real quick, but he learns, especially with the outlands reforming and all

Metamorphis plague was born from a changeling who's body had undergone so many changes that it had forgotten who he was, and thus melted into this as a result. It infected many ponies during Twilights reign, causing an outbreak that shook Manehattan to it's core, but was successfully contained deep within the forests surrounding where Bridlewood would be founded.

Nowadays it rests, feeding off of whatever woodland creatures are just a little too close to it, but it knows it isn't enough and eventually it will want more...

TLG: Idol

So you know how Vitani quotes Makuu word-for-word in the same exact tone as him when she says "I call... for a Mashindano!"? I like to think Vitani had first heard of a Mashindano through watching one a little after joining the Pridelanders, she eventually became a fan of Makuu after he'd won yet another Mashindano like he once did against Pua and Kiburi So here we have a starstruck Vitani meeting her idol after the fight, asking him questions regarding techniques (but not without stuttering and letting a few awkward things slip out lol). Despite her worries, Makuu respects a lion who not only doesn't fear him for once, but utterly admires him (which pairs perfectly with his ego lol) I like to think this is one of the things that inspired her to lead her very own Lion Guard, taking after Makuu's style of leadership and fighting

(also I think Makuu may be one of my favorite TLG characters. He's just so stubborn and dark-humored, he's just portrayed so well lol)

Idk why I haven’t thought about this before, but since baby hippos like to chew on crocodile tails, I’m gonna go ahead and headcanon that it’s happened to every crocodile in the Pridelands (yes that includes Kiburi’s float before they obviously got banished) with the kids in Basi’s pod. Yes, that includes baby Beshte

While none of them like it, they have no choice but to let it happen as not to ruin the alliance with Basi’s pod under Pua (and later Makuu)’s orders. They all have different reactions:

-Pua’s obviously gotten used to it. The most he’ll do is politely ask the baby to not bite so hard. The most recent one to have done it was Beshte when he was an infant. That’s actually how Beshte met Pua’s float! Baby him saw Pua’s tail as a plaything and began lifting it up and nibbling it. The nibbles were surprisingly gentle compared to other baby hippos, so Pua allowed it

Beshte was super embarrassed when he heard the story and tried to apologize, only for Pua to be like “Don’t be, everyone in your pod has done it at one point :)”

-Makuu used to complain and try to avoid it whenever he’d see a baby hippo, but after he found out it’s unavoidable, nowadays he’s just like “okay fine, whatever 🙄”

-Kiburi would try to stop it by using empty threats and even snapping at the kid, but it never works so he just pretends not to care. Ucheshi finds it hilarious

-Tamka made the mistake of antagonizing the hippo chewing on his tail. When the kid threatened to tell his mom, he was like “I ain’t scared of some hippo, kid! Bring it on!”

Backed down real quick when the mom actually showed up 😭

-Nduli was more confused than bothered the first time hfgfffgf. Where did this baby come from? Why is it biting his tail? Shouldn’t the mom be doing something? I mean the baby’s cute, but it’s kinda annoying now. “Uh Kiburi, what do I do with this kid?”

-Neema just lets it happen without moving a muscle in hopes the kid will get bored and go away. Nobody really knows what he’s thinking lmao

Absolutely living for my friendship headcanons I made for the crocodiles and the lizards cuz they’re legit so fun to play around with

-First there’s Makuu’s canon friendship with Hodari the gecko

-Pua’s also taken Hodari under his wing so now the little guy has 2 crocodile mentors, not to mention he tells the former leader everything

-Ucheshi and Hodari are so close they almost share a braincell

-Kenge’s now a sort-of honorary crocodile to Kiburi’s float cuz they’re good friends

Not only is Kenge an ally, but Njano’s proven to be a pretty good friend to Kiburi on several occasions. Hell, @spinnysocks and I agreed that all of Kiburi’s float would be all buddy-buddy with the skinks. Neema and Nyeusi are aroace icons who watch all the shit go down, Nyororo/green skink helps Tamka with his acting by teaching him how to be more…believable ig? (and by teaching him how to fake flirt with someone lol). Nyata would definitely encourage Nduli’s sassiness and helps him come up with witty comebacks

YA’LL I EVEN GOT KENGE TEACHING NDULI HOW TO BE MORE INTIMIDATING AT ONE POINT THAT’S HOW MUCH I LOVE THESE HC’S

I’m even thinking about Tamka and Nduli eventually befriending Hodari. They may have only used him in the past, but imagine them being unlikely friends when the little guy helps them out with something. Just a lil something to think about :)

Also I can’t help but imagine Tamka mentioning how he was being used by the meerkat mafia one time (as I mentioned in an episode idea I had for him) and Hodari goes “Been there, done that” and Tamka’s all “You have? By who????……..Oh yeah, my bad”

I’ve had this in my mind for a while so now I give you

Outlander Pirate AU (feat. Makuu)

-This is definitely one of the Zootopia-esque au’s because who doesn’t love animal pirates?

-The hyenas and vultures are part of one big crew, with Janja as the Captain and Mzingo as his first mate

-Jasiri and Reirei both defied gender roles by being Captains of their crew. Reirei met Goigoi while captured on another ship and she rose to the top. She married Goigoi and her crew grew from there

-Jasiri is actually a privateer who works under newly crowned King Kion. She eventually convinces Janja’s crew to merge with hers and is known as “The Pirate Queen” by everyone else.

Janja agreed cuz he maaay or may not have a repressed crush on Jasiri but he’ll obviously take that to his watery grave

-Captain Kiburi formed a new pirate crew after he started a mutiny against his former captain, Makuu. Makuu, however, had seen it coming and was able to fend off Kiburi and his followers. His crew isn’t as big as the other pirate captains, but holy shit can they fight. They’ve killed more animals than the rest combined

-Kenge was found as a stowaway on Kiburi’s ship, with him against the world and turning to piracy for survival. The crocs wanted to kill him on sight, but Kenge had something they didn’t: venom. So when Tamka tried to attack after calling him “little”, he ferociously bit him and held him at knifepoint. It was then when Kiburi had a better idea: Why not put that anger and those fighting skills to good use? He’s now one of the crocs, being Kiburi’s new friend and best fighter. Everyone thinks they should be scared of the crocodiles when it’s really him you gotta worry about. Kiburi likes to use him as a threat. Either give them all the loot or they’ll sick Kenge on you

-Sumu is an interesting story. Kiburi’s crew found him while exploring a desert island. It’s unknown how he got there in the first place (he doesn’t like to talk about it), but he ultimately joins the crew as a cabin boy among Kenge’s suggestion. Kiburi thought nothing of it until he saw Sumu in action. Turns out he can fatally stab people so that’s fun.

-Ushari was once a great pirate, but after too many near death experiences, he decided to become a grumpy innkeeper with Shupavu and Njano as his employees. They usually act as bartenders who serve drinks to the guests.

-After Makuu started a mutiny against him, Pua stepped down from captain of his crew and resides at the inn, telling all kinds of stories to anyone who would listen

-Hodari is a cabin boy in Makuu’s float. It was always his dream to be a pirate and he was able to prove himself when he helped Makuu steal from Kiburi (after Kiburi stole from him first lol)

-All the captains act like mortal enemies at sea, but put them next to each other in a tavern or Ushari’s inn and they’re acting like they’ve been friends for years

-Out of all the crews, Kiburi’s curses the most. They’ve even done it in the inn when they visited for the night. Ushari had to threaten to bite them on the spot if they didn’t stop driving his customers away. The skinks didn’t do much to help, as Shupavu was too busy laughing and Njano was encouraging them

-Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed are also retired pirates, giving their ship to Janja’s crew once they put the life behind them. They own a tavern, which is another popular hangout spot for pirates

-Njano once snuck onto Kiburi’s ship on his day off. It was a disaster

i like to think that jasiri showed kindness to each of the outlander leaders and that's how they started the path of reformation, but i'm wondering what exactly she would do for each of them? of course jasiri saves janja and says she would help any hyena, so what do you think she would do for reirei, mzingo, kiburi and shupavu to make them turn? add kenge and sumu too if you wanna :3

Overall, I like to think she puts herself in everyone else’s paw prints and that helps her understand what her fellow leaders are going through

For Reirei, she helps the pack catch a meal that could last them a couple days. She knows it must be difficult to raise a bunch of pups (and a mate lol) so she teaches them how to hunt without disrespecting the circle of life

For Kiburi, she hears him complaining about how his watering hole has barely enough water for his float so she offers to share her watering hole when they’re not using it. Jasiri didn’t know much about crocodiles at the time, but she does understand how much water they need. This is when Kiburi starts to show some respect cuz he’s finally being listened to, something Makuu never really did. As long as the crocs don’t try to eat the clan, they’re welcome any time.

-Bonus hc: because Kiburi was around the watering hole so often, he and Janja got to talking more often and soon enough, they grew close. So Jasiri’s essentially the reason why Janja and Kiburi are best friends now :)

For Mzingo…he was actually pretty easy. All she had to do was include his parliament in the decision making and soon gave them the job of creating new laws to keep the Outlands in order. Though the latter only happens during Jasiri’s first few months of ruling. He’s mostly her majordomo

Shupavu needed a LOT of persuasion, which was tricky enough since Shupavu mostly keeps her walls up. Among many things, she promised the Outlands would be more respectful towards her and her skinks, swearing they will never get eaten so long as she’s there. As stated before, Shupavu had to think about it. Lucky for Jasiri though, Ushari encouraged her to accept (which was encouraged by the kings of the past)
