Wizards could've been so much better if they had more episodes and focused on douxie and merlin some more.. time travel is fine and all but instead I'm envisioning a two season arc where ones in the past and the seconds in the future so that were not skipping around all tha dang time. Bangs fist on table what was douxie doin on the streets where'd he meet archie GIMME ANSWERSSS

Watching the last season of trollhunters again and merlin talking about the two battles of killahead is cool n all but I feel like we barley had any time with him fighting Morgana compared to how much background they gave us on jim exploring and deyas arc. See my vision...

Out of all characters in the Trollhunters universe, the one character who I would increase the screen time for, is Zoe.

Even though she is a minor character and we didn't get to see enough of her, I believe that she was supposed to have a little bit more of a bigger role in Wizards, based on what I've read on some posts that I forgot of in the past from a couple of the workers from the show that mentioned about Zoe being included more in Wizards, but couldn't because of the ten episode limit. And based on some of Tenyai's (a storyboard artist who worked on Wizards) fanarts of Douxie and Zoe, I theorize that they were meant to be a couple in Wizards, but we didn't get enough time to see more of their relation together.

I definitely would give more screen time for Zoe so we could see more of what she did in Wizards since we got so little of her and she's a character who seems like she's got a lot of potential. She also seems like an interesting and cool character. I really would have liked to see what she did in the past before and during the battle of Killahead bridge, see her help out in fighting the Arcane Order (which I bet she would look badass fighting against them), interacting more with Jim and his team, her backstory, more of her relation with Douxie and their moments together.

i did technically already answer this, but surely i can also give an honorable mention to the world's stupidest threesome…? i'm not sure if i'd go to this ship were it not for the friend douxie-mun who first got me thinking about it, but…as i said, i could see the vision.

also this was my first foray into sEeEeExy fanfic in eons; what it lacks in, er, length, it makes up for by having been a lot of fun to write. this is a muscle i would like to exercise more in the future >:3

last snow's presently-untitled sequel ("skrael having a terrible roadtrip around neolithic anatolia"). i started it where i did because i had another scene sketched out that felt too momentous to just release into the wild. that scene is a little over 2000 words; the backstory (untitled sequel) is pushing 12k, and i am maybe…60% of the way through? we have not even gotten to the bosporus yet. we are not even heading in the direction of the bosporus yet OTL

Your headcanon for Merlin's origin story is really brutal. Can we give him a somewhat nicer end? I've had this headcanon for a while that a part of Merlin's conscience lives on in one of his artefacts, maybe a splinter of his staff, and Douxie turns that one into a seed and buries it. It grows into an oak and Merlin gets to live on peacefully as a tree. He watches some more eras come and go. And he learns to live in the moment. To just appreciate the present. He can't do anything anyway, since he's an immovable tree, you know. But it is there where he makes peace with himself.

What's one thing about your OCs that they keep secret from other characters? (It can be a really angsty backstory bit or something silly like a secret favorite TV show or stuffed animal!)

Illy....well, where to start really with her? I like to think when she first meets Douxie when they were both young apprentices in Camelot, she doesn't tell him everything about her... she didn't tell him how she got here...at least not until they grow really close to each other of course (since its more her not wanting to scare him off, or say too much....explaining that her mother sent her to be executed is how she ended up in the castle isn't a light topic for convesation..)

Then you have her, of course, not really telling him how she feels when she first starts having feelings for him. After the events of Wizards, there is also her just...being upset with Merlin. She hides it for a while, how she doesn't trust him anymore after what he's done and made her feel. It's something she does end up talking to Douxie about but she hides it for a long while at first because she knew how much Merlin meant to Douxie and she didn't want her thoughts on the old man to ruin the perception he has on him...given Douxie sees Merlin as his father figure.

Selena...in a previous ask I mentioned I have no solid idea of what i want her to be, originally she is a werewolf royalty or aristocrat that had to run away from home due to being a target as she is the heir. I would say, she hid why she was running away from Zoe the first time they met seeing, I think werewolves and hedgewitches have a sort of disdain for each other and she wouldn't be able to trust her.

In the newer origin, I'd say Selena just...hides the fact that she is a cupid from Zoe because that's her job...to discreetly help people with their love lives.

Lizzie... I mean in general, she would have to hide her going to Hogwarts to any muggle friends she may have. Maybe she makes up some story about having to transfer to a private school. There is also her hiding her feelings for Fred but that's more, she's too shy to even talk to him let alone confess.

Iris, being Sonic's younger sister is...very tired of him being protective over her and thus....sneaks out! She sneaks out to go on her own adventures since he is so protective over her not doing that cause she's his baby sister and all. She also hides the fact that she's Sonic's sister when she first meets Shadow and joins him on his adventures, cause she recognized him from Sonic's stories and would rather not out herself as Sonic's sister given their rivalry. Later on, she also hides that she's dating Shadow from Sonic...at least until she guarantees that he won't freak out.

Min hides the reason she ran away from the orphanage...but also her overall just attachment to people. Given that she never was considered for adoption and knows that now as a 15 year old, people won't look at her given...she's heard stories about how people tend not to consider teenagers to adopt. She's closed off to the other turtles when Mikey took her to the lair, especially the ones who don't trust her or Mikey like Raph and Leo. She does tell Leo why after they grow close, even admits it to everyone when she's ready. Also a silly thing, she's a big fan of Space Heroes, much to Leo's surprise when she finally caves in and decides to sit down to watch it with him. What ensues is them quoting the show together much to the other three turtles' annoyance xD

Merlin sighed at the narrow miss of the broom. It had nearly knocked his head off. He wished Hisirdoux would stop enchanting brooms to clean. He sighed again, which was enough for Hisirdoux to give a sheepish chuckle and stop the enchantment. At the very least he’d learnt how to stop spells. Merlin tried to not pinch his nose.

“Hisirdoux.” Merlin began. The tension of Hisirdoux’s shoulders told him the boy knew a lecture was coming. “If we could one week without the broom enchanting.”

“Yes Master.” Hisirdoux said apologetically. Merlin supposed he should be grateful nothing had caught fire. Archie was already nudging the boy back to his chores. Merlin checked everything over, seeing if anything had been damaged. One of his workbench cloth covers had been ripped near an edge. He really tried not to snap at Hisirdoux. He did. But could he try not to damage things for once?

“Take this to get repaired. If it can’t be you’ll have to get a new one.” Merlin said after chewing him out a little. Hisirdoux took it and hurried out the room.

Douxie had his tongue between his teeth as he focused on the needle in his hand. It had been a while since he’d handled thread. It was getting late and Archie was ready with his claws to unpick any bad stitches. The candle light flickered lightly in the background. Nimble fingers moved, melding the cover back into one. Douxie took his time, careful and precise. He held up the cloth when he was done.

“What do you think Arch?” Douxie asked.

“Very good.” Archie said supportively. “Now can we get some sleep?” Douxie grinned before folding up the cover. He placed it near the door so he wouldn’t forget it and curled up next to Archie.

“Aren’t cats nocturnal?” He asked. He could feel Archie rolling his eyes.

“I’m a dragon, not a cat.” Archie reminded him, deliberately stepping on Douxie’s arm. “And nocturnal means nothing around you.” Douxie pulled him in for a cuddle.

“Admit it, we have way more fun.” He prodded. Archie nuzzled him.

“It would be more fun if I could sleep.” He teased. Douxie smiled as he curled up tighter.

Hisirdoux handed him the work table cover the next morning. Merlin eyed it, pleased with its outcome.

“That was quick.” Merlin said. “My complements to the tailor.”

“I did it.” Hisirdoux said shyly. He was putting some books away on the other side of the room so Merlin couldn’t see his face. And he couldn’t see Merlin’s face, which was one of surprise. Merlin examines the cloth again. The work was good. Clean. Considering Hisirdoux was normally such a clumsy boy... but he didn’t have clumsy hands. Clumsy with magic. Clumsy feet sometimes. His fingers were long and delicate. Good for strumming lutes. And for sewing apparently.

“I didn’t know you could sew.” Merlin commented lightly. Hisirdoux paused.

“My parents were tailors.” He said quietly. Merlin watched as Archie twisted around the boy’s leg in a comforting manner. He raised his eyebrows. Hisirdoux didn’t talk a lot about his parents. Not that Merlin protested that after everything they’d done. Still tailors.

“I see.” Merlin said. “It is good work I suppose.” Hisirdoux gave him a small smile before going back to work. For some reason the thought of them being tailors bugged at Merlin. It kept to the back of his mind for the rest of the day. When they started one of their practice sessions he was distracted.

“Uh Master?” Hisirdoux asked uncertainly. “Is everything alright?”

“Hmmmm?” Merlin replied, still thinking. “Yes yes everything’s fine.” He paced a little. “Your parents.... were tailors?” Hisirdoux straightened to look at him.

“Yes.” He replied. “I didn’t think it mattered.” Merlin supposed it didn’t. Magic could be hereditary but it could also crop up randomly.

“Important tailors?” Merlin asked. If he could just work out what was bothering him.

“No, just tailors for townsfolk that’s all.” Hisirdoux said, frowning slightly. He obviously didn’t want to talk about it. He looked tense. Now if Merlin could just think for a minute. He pondered over why it was nagging at him. It wasn’t the job per say, or the lack of magic.

“Before the magic were they good parents?” Merlin asked. It seemed along the right lines of what he was trying to get at.

“They were... alright.” Hisirdoux said hesitantly. His eyes had a far away look as if remembering something unpleasant. That made Merlin frown. And then it struck him. Before Hisirdoux’s parents had been blobs. Terrible blobs of nothing. Something far away and unimportant. But now they had a job. A decent job. Things they’d taught Hisirdoux before Merlin knew him. They sounded normal, poor parents, but normal. Merlin realised he was angry at them for abandoning his student for such... such pathetic reasons. It wasn’t hard times, lack of money, lack of anything. Just a need to protect their own self interest. And it annoyed him. But it also made him jealous. There are things they taught him, he thought, that I never will. It was ridiculous to be jealous over that. But he couldn’t help it. Centuries of living and Hisirdoux was the first apprentice that had truly felt like his legacy. The part of him that was normally locked away. The one that yearned for friendship and family and fun. Seemed to break through whenever he thought of his apprentice. The desire for him to be a son, an apprentice, a friend, and for Merlin to be the one he looked up to. Merlin stopped pacing to see Hisirdoux was giving him an odd look.

“I don’t care for them.” Merlin said bluntly.

“You haven’t met them.” Hisirdoux pointed out, not that he seemed upset by the statement.

“All life is precious Hisirdoux.” Merlin said. “To hurt it, to hurt someone is one of the cruelest things someone can do.” Hisirdoux eyes widened. They had hurt him. And left him. And sometimes Merlin wanted to bundle him up in blankets and hot tea.

“What does that have to do with my parents?” He asked. And sod it, Merlin hadn’t thought of that at all. He was used to being able to give non-sequitur answers and pulling out nonsense. He didn’t expect people to question those answers. But his ever eager to learn apprentice questioned everything.

“It’s nothing Hisirdoux.” Merlin said, wondering if it would be wrong to turn his parents into gnomes. “Why don’t we work on your stance a little?” Hisirdoux gave him once last odd look before shrugging and moving. Merlin wondered if Hisirdoux thought what his parents did wasn’t cruel. No doubt twisting it to blame himself. Merlin gently adjusted him. No matter, Merlin thought, he’s here with me now.

And I will never make him abandon his home.

Ramble ahead about a witchy, longer series take on Wizards (1):

(AO is abbreviation for Arcane Order).

Mmm given that Wizards starts with hints about the Arcane Order through what Merlin says, the Green Knight and Morgana...

What if in a more slow series we could've gotten Douxie having dreams with the themes of each deity... Extremely metaphorical and hard to decipher. And even harder to pin a name on them since Merlin’s the only person who wrote about them, and in this case has ignored them and focused on Morgana.

Perhaps these are not just Arcane Order themselves reaching out to Douxie, but Douxie discovering his intuitive side, trying to warn the situation to come. We get to see Douxie on the personal, what other things he's been doing while Merlin was gone, we get to see his relationship with other wizards like Zoe.

Kind of revisiting the themes the Morgana plot in Trollhunters had but without the possession stuff, and more benevolence, or mixed feelings. Addressing Merlin's mistreatment of others. Nari and Douxie finding solidarity in their difficult position of seeing Merlin like family yet he was depriving them of their emotional needs, and messing up the future.

...

Bellroc and Sakrael need to be released/invoked like Morgana was, but this is so they take physical form again. Nari was able to keep hir physical form because Merlin "protected" hir from Arthur (yet took part in killing Bellroc and Sakrael).

The Arcane Order were old deities who just started experiencing humanity (as humanity is really young compared to Earth and other species), and when they started opening up, giving Merlin their names and backstories, he broke their trust. Fearful of 'dark magic', death and the afterlife, fearful of being closer to the deep and truth, he antagonized them and took Nari from them. Nari was young and impressionable, and when ze was suffering loss of hir family (as eventually the AO get hunted down like all other magickind), Merlin just reinforced to hir his damaging beliefs.

Nari is who teaches Merlin time travel and general time magic, as ze used it behind his back to see hir family again, and trying to figure out how to move the timeline to the AO being reunited.

The Arcane Order can be killed because they started incarnating more human-like when humans showed up on Earth. They wanted to know what being directly affected by the physical world is, before taking decisions. And to show humanity that they too can participate in magic, that it is inherent in them.

The Arcane Order wasn't evil, but much like humans, they made mistakes like how they handled Morgana, Seklos & Gaylen, Gunmar... Merlin uses these examples to discourage the protags from trusting them.

This story can go on about erasure and colonialism, such as how nobody knew the Arcane Order members' names (not even trolls) yet the AO having ties to helping the protags, being spiritual guides at times.

It is slowly revealed they've helped the protags survive close calls with death, being nudged to make small but important decisions that has literally saved the world before... etc etc.

Tonight, Zoe had taken Douxie hunting for the first time. Someone else came to their rescue.

Tonight, Zoe had taken Douxie hunting for the first time. As much as he had refused to join her coven, claiming his Master would definitely come for him despite abandoning him for over a thousand years, Douxie had been eager to learn the ways of the modern world from her. It had taken her three months to finally convince him that no, receiving supplemental magical tutelage was not a betrayal of his Master. Zoe had forgotten just how much she'd hated the apprentice system. It had been a long time since she'd last encountered an abandoned apprentice, but she recalled the last one being this stubborn as well. At least the last one hadn't tried to claim he was older than her because he had been born in 525 and she'd been born in 1094, even though Douxie had only lived fourteen of those years.

And so, Zoe was trying to give Douxie some practical lessons, like how to deal with the local goblin population. It was after midnight on a Saturday night, and so this large alleyway between the grocery store and one of the residential areas wasn't going to be having any human visitors. Sometimes, Zoe wondered if there was a larger changeling or trollish population in Arcadia Oaks than she had expected, since goblin nests were often found within ten miles of a trollish settlement and there were several nests within Arcadia Oaks.

One of the most important things to do around goblins was not be afraid. Unfortunately, whomever Douxie's old Master was, he had made Douxie into a nervous wreck around authority figures, especially authority figures with something to teach him. And unfortunately, Zoe and Archie couldn't electrify and burn the goblins fast enough, not without Douxie becoming collateral damage.

A breeze blew through the alleyway, carrying a scent Zoe had tried to forget. The wind swirled around Douxie and weaved its way under the goblins, pulling them away from him. A few of them splattered against the walls, and Zoe pulled lightning around her fists. Lovely. Whomever had saved Douxie clearly didn't understand restraint.

Except, faster than the wind, two blurs came through. One was orange and came up to Zoe's hips and the other was dressed in black holding something glowing red. They zipped through the alleyway, making quick work of the goblins. The scent Zoe had tried to forget was stronger than ever.

Well, no, the scent had been stronger when the two of them had met at a concert back in 1997 and had tried to put aside their differences. Zoe had littered hot pink lipstick stains across the dark skin of the woman now standing in front of her next to the teumessian fox (named for the dots encircling her legs and tail) that served as her familiar.

"Nina. Roxanne." Zoe narrowed her eyes. Now what was her ex doing here? Last Zoe had checked (and no, it was not stalking to look at Roxanne's instagram profile on incognito mode, it was keeping her coven and other immortals safe from the prying eyes of the internet!), Roxanne and her familiar were in San Jose, nowhere near Arcadia Oaks.

"Zoe," Roxanne said. "I thought you were more careful with the kids in your little coven?"

"I'm not in her coven," Douxie said quickly. Zoe highly doubted his Master would come back for him, but she doubted even more that Douxie's Master would go to Roxanne of all people to check on Douxie's loyalty. "That was so cool what you did with the wind! Is air-based magic your specialty? Do you think you could teach me? I was taught more neutral non-specialized magic, but I do lean towards light-based a bit!"

Oh, come on. Zoe had spent months trying to get him out of his shell and he took a liking to Roxanne of all people?

(And, well, sure Zoe had taken a liking to Roxanne centuries ago, but Zoe was gay and she was pretty sure Douxie was, too, so she highly doubted Douxie would take a liking to Roxanne for the same reasons that Zoe had.)

"I don't know," Nina said snidely, crossing her forelegs. "We are rather busy."

Quietly, Archie growled. Oh, good, at least Douxie's familiar had common sense even if Douxie himself was sorely lacking in it.

"I promise I won't take up too much of your time!" Douxie continued, and Roxanne had the nerve to smile at him. "I'm a fast learner!"

"Roxanne, why are you here?" Zoe cut in.

"Douxie, let's go home," Archie said.

"But-!"

"Don't you have homework, Hisirdoux?" Douxie pulled his hood over his head, and Archie stiffened, a guilty look forming on his face. Zoe remembered Douxie telling her that only his Master called him by his real name.

"It was nice meeting you," Douxie said. "Thanks for saving me."

Zoe, Nina, and Roxanne watched as Douxie and Archie left. "Taking in strays?" Roxanne asked.

"You didn't answer my question,"

"Ever heard of HexTech?"

Yes, and as the leader of the coven who ran the local branch, Zoe could keep Roxanne from being hired. There were other jobs in the city. Better yet, there were jobs in the far end of the county.

Nina turned to her familiar. "Roxanne, don't you think we shouldn't reveal our cards?"

"Oh, relax, Nina, I'm sure Zo-zo won't spill any secrets." If Zoe blushed at the nickname, it was entirely out of anger. It wasn't because the nickname held any fond memories. "I work for the head coven, and I'm inspecting the Arcadia Oaks franchise."

I have a new oc cause I decided I lowkey wanted Douxie to have a bf and he's really cute and the backstory is 👀

This is Carter Howard, an immortal although he's not a wizard being who has daddy issues, sarcasm levels the size of Jupiter, and enough PTSD to power a small city.

Carter and Douxie met during World War 2 before Carter became immortal. They were in the same division together and as two of the youngest guys in that division, got along right away. They did almost all their missions together and were fiercely protective of eachother. The way Carter found out about Douxie's magic was... an intresting situation but to put a long story short, there was kidnapping, storming an enemy base, lots of explosions, and a few near death experiences that led to Douxie using magic to defend his friend before their escape.

It was that experience that got them to confess to eachother. In the middle of the woods. After literally blowing up like three buildings. They're gay.

Carter didn't really understand the whole magic thing at first but he thought it was cool as shit.

So the way he became immortal is that he made a huge sacrifice, giving his life to save that of his division and Douxie, but he ended up in the same little in-between after life place Douxie did at the end of Wizards cause it turns out, his dad who he thought had abandoned him is actually a minor god and took a liking to his mom and Carter came of that relationship. So his dad kinda gives him the choice of, "Hey you can die and join you mom in the after life or you can accept my gift of immortality and go protect the world with your bf." And Carter was like, "bitch is there even a choice?" And went back to stay with Douxie and help him keep the world safe from magical threats.

So when Carter came back, Douxie had just found his body and was having a mental breakdown over losing him, so when Carter woke up after literally being dead he was like, "dude why are you crying?" And Douxie punched him in the arm

Dieing and coming back to life cause their dads said no

Since Carter doesn't have any magic, he got really really good with other weaponry and also knows how to build his own stuff and make modifications to his weapons. He also has a Hiccup fire sword thing specifically to feed into Douxie’s obsession with fire

The team meet Carter for the first time after losing a battle and having to run and they were all like, "👁👄👁 oh sorry we would have called ahead but we were busy having no idea that you existed"

Okay so I'm gonna explain the necklace

It's like this little enchanted charm that Douxie gave him that they made together. It's kind of like a match to Douxie's skull necklace where they act as homing beacons to eachother

So they can find eachother if they ever get lost or separated again And Carter's can magically expand into these giant mechanical wingsSo like, he has these mechanical wings he uses to fly around and shoot people with guns/arrows

Carter and Krel get along spectacularly too because they both like to invent stuff and while Carter's thing is more machinery based and Krel's thing is more technology based, they still like to talk about stuff nobody else knows about XD

Also I'd like to say, Douxie and Carter=Ultimate Battle Couple

But... yeah! He's Chaotic and definitely doesn't help Douxie's feral side XD. after living for so long you kind of stop giving a shit about stuff so they're just feral and when they get together they just feed into eachother's chaos

Hes got some nifty gear

First of all, sword that can produce fire cause his bf likes fire

A collapsible bow so he can just grab it and start shooting people

And a little arm gauntlet thing that expands out into a shield

Imagine this bitch just rolls up to a battle. He's a walking arsenal

He has a whole bunch of weapons and nobody knows where the fuck he keeps them all

So he got drafted into the war in 1939 when he was 19, and he "died" a year later when he was 20 and that's when he became immortal and subsequently started also fighting in a much larger, and more secret war.

His birthday is April 20, 1923 btw. I dunno why that's relevant but it is

One month until the movie!

People and plot-points from previous ‘Tales of Arcadia’ installments that I hope (but mostly don’t really expect) will be addressed in ‘Rise of the Titans’: 

The Changeling survivors. Were there any besides Strickler, Nomura, and Not Enrique? 

Where is Nomura, the only one of them who didn’t get a cameo in 3Below? We know she went to New Jersey at the end of Trollhunters, but is she there now? Did she split off from the group at some point? What does she do with her time? 

What’s going on with Not Enrique nowadays? Is he living with the Nuñezes still, but visiting Barbara and Strickler often? Is he living with Barbara and Strickler and the Familiar babies? Is he still going by Not Enrique or has he started using a different name? 

Speaking of the Familiar babies, what’s going on with them? Are they all out of the cradlestone, or are releases being staggered? How many are out, and how many are there in total? Are they all expected to be raised in Arcadia Oaks? (Talk about a baby boom.) 

Why did the Darklands collapse in on itself? Did it collapse in on itself? Are there survivors still in there - goblins from the Nursery, Gumm-Gumms who didn’t escape, Changelings who never got Familiars?

Izita and her kid. We know she has a kid - she tells Zadra about Aja saving the kid’s life during Morando’s coup - but we sure never see the kid again after that, unless she’s the same kid who mouthed off to the Omens and nearly got publicly summarily executed. 

Zadra. I just want more Zadra content for its own sake. 

Seriously, what do citizens of Akiridion-5 think their royal family is protecting them from? It came up a few times in 3Below that this belief exists, but the show never explored why, let alone whether it’s accurate. 

Gaylen’s Core. This one I think does actually have an okay chance of coming up in the movie depending on what the movie’s story is. 

If his core was formed on Earth, how and why did he go to space and create another planet? 

Why was Seklos able to defeat Gaylen alone when the laser needed two ‘royal cores’ to power it? Was she a god, too? 

How did the trolls know enough about this to expect more Akiridions to show up at some point? How well known is it among trolls, considering Blinky didn’t seem to know about Akiridions already during D’Aja Vu but Vendel and Kanjigar were both entirely prepared for Gaylen’s core to be “returned to the planet from whence it came” in the flashback during The Big Sleep?

Side note, I’m now imagining Gaylen’s Core as one of the treasures in Gatto’s Keep.

Also, how did Coranda and Fialkov contact Vendel and Kanjigar to set up the rendezvous point?

Will we be getting a reference to that scene in the comics where Spar the Spiteful meets an Akiridion? 

(Except either Spar won’t be a Trollhunter or it’ll have to be in a different time period than the comics showed, because the comics and novels portrayed Spar as one of the Trollhunters before Deya and that flashback takes place in Neolithic times, but the animated franchise has Deya becoming the first Trollhunter during Medieval times.)

Gaylen is described as a god, but is he actually a titan, like the beings that are ‘rising’ in the film? Are they being born/created by supernatural means in the same way he was, or waking from hibernation? Will Gaylen be a character in the movie?!

What ‘other pursuits’ are they funding with the money their repair work brings in? 

Are all of them super-long-lived, like Douxie, or does that vary? How old is Zoe? 

What distinguishes the different types of magic users from each other - is it how much innate power they have, or something to do with the style of casting, or the types of things they try to do with their magic?

Obviously there is a difference between a wizard’s familiar and a Changeling’s Familiar, and we know from Trollhunters how being a Changeling’s Familiar works, but can we get some details on what being a wizard’s familiar entails in this universe? 

The Arcane Order’s backstory. Where did Bellroc, Skrael, and Nari come from? How did they meet? 

They’re described as the first magic users. Are they manifestations of magic given physical, conscious form, or did they start out as organic beings and get changed by magic into what they are now? How and why? 

Are they titans? 

Is this ‘rise of titans’ something that happens naturally as a result of various phenomena that no one can induce or prevent, or something Bellroc and Skrael are actively causing to happen?

Shannon Longhannon. She’s gotten at least one scene in each animated series, so I will be watching for her cameo in the movie. Even just a ‘face in the crowd’ moment. 

More Jim-Toby interaction because I feel like Wizards shortchanged them and us on that.

Barbara’s reaction to Jim becoming human again.

Jim getting a chance to have an emotional response to having his body radically warped three times in one night. (Jumbo Jim, dying, and then human again.) Maybe a scene where Jim, Douxie, and AAARRRGGHH bond over each of them having technically died and come back from it.

Quick notes on everything amazing (that I currently remember) about Wizards:

-Douxie. DOUXIE. I knew I was gonna love him, but I didn't realize just how much?? He just wants to do good and he tries so hard. He does his very hardest, even after things blow up in his face and he feels like giving up, he still goes for it. And hes just so much fun! Despite being 900+ years old he still acts like a dumb teenager and I love him for it.

And his guitar/staff! I have no words for how much I love it. Just know that I do and I'm smiling just thinking about it. That and every time he does anything remotely punk-ish.

-Claire's arc. I'm so glad they explored more with her powers and her similarities with Morgana. I just love her growth in this and her heart and downright stubbornness and hellbent determination.

-I'm not gonna say much on Merlin, but I will say this; congrats on actually making him a more rounded character and making me give some semblance of a shit for him. He still sucks tho. But for Douxie's sake I'll learn to like him.

-The Order. You guys. Guys. Skrael and Bellroc (I think that was their names but correct me if I'm wrong) are *chef kisses*. I'm sorry, but they're perfect. The perfect chaotic evil duo. Im not even mad at them for trying to destroy the world. And their character designs! No lie, I think I'm in love with both of them. They can conquer me anytime.

-And Nari! Shes just so precious. And the perfect representation for a nature spirit(? Demigod? Idk man), being both nurturing and willing to do harmful things if necessary (though she did end up regretting it). And I love that her and Douxie are travelling together now, that would be fun to watch.

-Real quick, but Steve calling out for Eli when he got knocked down broke me a bit. Like I know it was supposed to be funny but, he misses him and that's got me sad.

-And I'm so glad that Jim and Claire got to kiss! Multiple times even!

Speaking of

-Jim. Oh boy. I love almost everything that happened with him. And when he got corrupted? Honestly, I was not expecting that. I thought he was just gonna straight up die, and what happened to him for a while was just as bad. I loved seeing it all play out tho. And him interacting with everyone in the past was great! And seeing him be happy for a little while healed me. And then shit happened and I got worried again.

-I won't say much on the ending for Jim but. I'm glad it didn't feel half-assed, but I'm still not sure how to feel about it. That scar tho was pretty cool. I'm happy he's happy tho and that's all that matters.

-Also Morgana getting a backstory and even a redemption arc was wonderful and I loved seeing all the different sides to her and her relationship with Arthur.

-Last thing for now but my girl Callista! Deya the Deliverer!! She was sooo good. I was not expecting how good she was gonna be but I was pleasantly surprised by how rowdy she was. I dunno how to describe her, she just felt super real to me? Relatable I guess?? And shes gorgeous and I would 100% let her punch me in the face. And her and Jim being absolute bros! This is the only trollhunter so far that I feel got Jim and how he did things. They were both for humans and trolls and peace and friendship and her just existing is probably one of my top 3 best things about this season.

I'll probably add more later but guys, I haven't been this excited after watching a show in a while and I cant wait to rewatch the whole series.

Also a movie?! A movie!!

Character Headcanon Ask Meme: Morgana

(from here; i haven't got a chance to talk often about morgana, so thank you doubly for the ask!)

1: sexuality headcanon

literally does not have the time/care/inclination for such introspection. first because she's busy learning magic in avalon, second because she's busy dabbling in unethical science magic girlbossery revenge. likewise: probably only aligns with "cis" by default/convenience.

2: otp

herself. my take on morgana is still pretty preliminary, but while i don't think she couldn't ever care about someone outside of herself (*cough* arthur), i vastly prefer the scary, unhinged (dare i say: selfish?) morgana of trollhunters to...whatever the rest of the series tried to do with her. >>; she's looking out for #1,

...don't @ me, but. oh god, i had a whole backstory for her, didn't i? anywaY, i think i like the thought that (prior to the whole, uh, mutually attempted murder) she and arthur were actually fairly ride or die. she brings him to merlin for help, even after he cut off her hand, just for the chance that he might save her brother. all the better setup for the inevitable familial backstabbing later :')

mmmmmmmost of the ships i've seen with her, tbh. shoutout, once again, to under the wave for being the exception? but such is the power of a favorite author, hehe.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head

i actually had to look back through my ancient timeline rewrite to remember any of what i thought about morgana, but apparently i had her as one of the recent human colonists of the pocket dimension of avalon? i like that quite a lot, actually, in retrospect—i want to play more with this concept, but good job past crow, this one still hits good!

oh man, it's been so long since i watched th—i remember really enjoying her conversation with strickler while possessing claire. but possibly my favorite has to be the vaguely menacing noises from the phonograph in the janus order office!

Heyo!

What I love about him: How he's really smart and yet. So dumb. So baby. So kind. He's a cocky little bastard without it being annoying. And he just. has so much love to give. F r e c k l e s. Love the punk vibe, love his weapon of choice. 10/10 peak character design, so baby. I also love that he makes me laugh. There aren't... a lot of shows that have me in stitches, but EPISODE ONE OF WIZARDS, and the GUITAR HERO SCENE. Holy cow. For like. Months after I first watched it, I kept thinking about about it and just randomly grinning, and he just made me really happy, you know? I would think about his dumb little face and I'd just grin.

What I don't like: Something I didn't like at first was how desperate he was to impress Merlin, but luckily, that was a character trait that faded into more of a "I want to make him proud, but I'll do it MY way" and it was all part of his character development, yes, yes, very good. I also didn't like his introduction in trollhunters, it makes me cringe and wince. Please, son, you're killing your mother.

Favorite moment/quote: Only one? Like I said, I really love the guitar hero fight because the whole thing is so cringe and I love it.

What I would like to see more focus on: I want to know more about his backstory. I want to see him and archie pre-merlin, and I want to see his adventures in the nine hundred years after Merlin went to sleep.

What I would like to see less focus on: Honestly, there isn't much. I liked his character, I liked his arc, I would like for him to stop falling from high places, please.

Favorite pairing with: Ehhhhhhhh. Zoe's cute, I guess, but. I really liked his focus on found family, and absolutely loved how his show didn't really have a romance. Felt more validating to me (not in a relationship) since the last two shows had this focus on getting the girl/guy

Favorite friendship with: Archie and Nari. <3 Fambly. <3

NOTP: Honestly, most of the characters. Most of them are either way younger or infathomably older than he is, so it's just. Uncomfy.

Favorite headcanon: when he gets his memories back post RotT he and Archie immediately go to find Nari, and they're all one big found family again <3
