I HAVE AN ASK that I actually thought of while working earlier so HERE GOES c:
Lets say, the world didn’t go to shit, and our beloved characters are transported into the year 2023. What are they doing? How are they holding up? Job wise, and just in general? How is what they’re doing different from canon, now that things like social media and all that ‘fun’ stuff is around, if it’s different at all?
Thank you for the question! And also thank you to the anon who asked a very similar question that I forgot to answer 🥲
Tumblr media
Rather than just saying what they'd do if they were in the present, I'm gonna sorta Modernify their canon lives because it's fun :) Also, SPOILERS BEWARE, I'm obviously not including anything super spoilery about the plot but if you want the character's backstories revealed naturally in the game then maybe don't read because there's a bunch of new stuff here!
Doc's trajectory in life is a lot different, in a world where he can actually get a proper education. His dad was a veterinarian for a horse racing place, and he didn't exactly have the most wealthy upbringing, but he was comfortable and learned a lot about horses. His dream was always to attend medical school, but money was tight- until he started dating Yvette in his first year of university, who helped him get into dealing drugs. After getting his MD, he started working at a not-for-profit local clinic, and oversees their needle exchange program. He still owns a sniper rifle in our universe, but he doesn't use it (usually)
Yasmin is the daughter of a prominent media mogul who was recently assassinated, putting her even more in the public eye than she already was. She had a wealthy but miserable youth, one of those rich kids who was privately tutored and never really had friends, y'know? At a young age, her mother died, and she's been in a spiral ever since. She had a brief but stormy relationship with KC in college. Since then, Yasmin's become a minor social media star, posting moody selfies and doing a lot of drugs with her influencer friends- specifically, Yvette.
KC grew up poor with a struggling single father and took the idea of "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps" seriously. She worked throughout high school to get into a good college for business management, with a mix of money saved up from part time work and scholarships. She excelled at soccer in high school and wound up playing for her college's varsity team. Through a mutual "friend" she met Yasmin, and the two of them dated until KC got a job at Yasmin's dad's company and realized how terribly it treated its employees. She got heavily involved in the (successful) effort to organize a union at the company, and since then has been involved in helping other baby unions with their organizing efforts.
Yvette found it hard to stay in the closet from a pretty young age, and growing up in a place where that was frowned upon, he learned to be resilient and self-sufficient. As an adult, he moved to the big city and befriended a wealthy drug dealer while working as an escort. Through some questionably moral events, he wound up in charge of this operation with the other guy... out of the picture. From there, it all happened so fast- buying the club (which he named the Rose and Thorn), the fancy car, the nice condo. Living the dream. But he has his sights set even higher ever since he befriended Yasmin, the heiress to a multimedia throne.
Levi had a sheltered youth, attending private Catholic schools in Quebec alongside his childhood best friend Maxime. He excelled in his studies, but Maxime was always a step ahead of him, especially in the area of religion. Despite being an attentive student, Levi struggled with anger issues and was a target for bullying throughout his youth. When the two were seniors in high school and Levi's long-time bully disappeared under mysterious circumstances, they decided to move away and start a new life together in the big city. Here, Maxime's (or now, Aldrich's) spiritual ideas flourished, getting the attention of people on social media. But being labelled as a cult leader is barely better than their youth.

ustice Sonia Sotomayor made history on August 8, 2009, when she became the first Latina on the United States Supreme Court. At the time of her appointment, she had a net worth of approximately $750,000, which has since increased to an estimated $5 million.
Her fame, which stems from her position on the Supreme Court, has allowed her to take advantage of several lucrative opportunities. These have included book deals worth $3.8 million since joining the bench, as well as hiring staff to help her manage her affairs. While questions have been raised about the ethics of how she has handled her staff, it is widely accepted that Supreme Court justices have far fewer ethical constraints than other government officials.
Sotomayor has also benefited greatly from the financial perks of her position. Thanks to her time on the Supreme Court, she has been given an incredibly generous pension. This pension ensures she will receive her current salary, which stands at $285,400, for the rest of her life, amounting to an estimated $2.3 million. While she has properties in both New York City and Washington, D.C., her pension accounts for nearly half her net worth.
By no means, however, was Sotomayor’s early life characterized by wealth and privilege. Born in the South Bronx in 1954, she grew up in public housing projects. Her father passed away when she was nine years old, leaving her mother to raise Sotomayor and her younger brother Celso. With her job as a practical nurse, Celina, Sotomayor’s mother, earned less than $5,000 a year.
Despite these circumstances, Sotomayor’s mother prioritized education, sending her daughter to Catholic schools throughout her childhood. Faced with the heavy burden of tuition fees, Celina believed discipline was principled to the success of a Catholic school education. Her perseverance would later prove fruitful, as Sotomayor learned to speak, read, and study in English fluently by the fifth grade. She graduated high school as valedictorian and was accepted into all four Ivy League institutions she applied to.
Following her time at Princeton, Sotomayor was granted a full scholarship to attend Yale Law School. While there, she served as an editor of the Yale Law Journal and secured a role as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan before graduating in 1979. While this position was prestigious, it did not pay as well as private practice, which Sotomayor found acceptable, believing that her personal success should not be solely determined by financial gain.
Every position in our government should be merit based and subject to term limits. It's the only way out of this mess. The Hogs will never move against the farmer while they are eating at the trough. I'm pretty sure a third party could actually work after all this insanity but that is a topic for another day.

Adria Arjona / Cis Woman / She/her
SPOTTED: Is that CARMEN REYES that I see over there? You know they have quite the reputation of being the GOLDEN GIRL around town. The 30 year old has been around these parts for 6 YEARS and within that timeframe has landed themselves a job as a/an ENGLISH TEACHER while living in SYCAMORE APARTMENTS. I overheard  that they can be quite INSECURE but their saving grace is that they are VIVACIOUS.  Rumor has it they’ve been keeping a secret, and it’s only a matter of time before everyone knows. BIOGRAPHY
tw bullying, tw body image issues,  tw death, tw car crash
Being perfect isn’t easy, and yet  Graciana De Leon managed to pretend she was for years.  Being the only child of Mateo and Xiomara De Leon, a fairly  simple upper middle class Chicago family, her father owning a business and her mother being a the prime stay at home mom,  expectations were high, she never stood a chance against what her mother wanted of her. At a young age, she was pushed into a lot of things, pageants and piano, but the big one was ballet.
She was carted around Illinois, her mom pulling her from the public school in Chicago to attend an all-girls school just outside of town that offered ballet lessons in their curriculum. She was told to keep good grades if she wanted to keep dancing, and as the  De Leon family’s shiny little star, ballet was the only thing she had that was just for her. She could get lost in the feeling of her body moving, and she truly lived up to her name, as graceful as ever when she was dancing.
As she got older, she lived a life of being the perfect daughter to the world, smiling on stage,  going to parties her parents threw, getting good grades at her all-girls private school, and being a shining example for her classmates. She was shy, but she did what her parents asked.   But Little Graciana’s shy personality, the way she tiptoed the line of teachers pet, made her an outcast to her peers.
In November of 2003, when Graciana was just eleven years old, her parents were taken from her in a fatal car crash.  After the funeral, she was ushered into move in with her abuela, because her parents had left her some money, it was to be used for school until she turned twenty five, Gracie ended up going to the same private school she had been attending for so long. She went back two weeks after her parents death.
If Graciana was the outcast before, for being the “golden girl”, she certaintly was pushed further agains the walls by her peers, who would  tease her for not having the latest fashions, things her mother would gift her with, or for not speaking up in class, or even so, when she did, for being too much.  Gracie couldn’t win, and it felt like she was just going through the motions. She stayed mostly friendless, having aquantinces, but in a small, private school, the mean girls would tease anyone who hung out with her. Gracie focused on her studies, and on moving on with her life. She managed to skirt by without it getting too bad, just teasing, and keeping her on the edges of anything fun. She once again reverted to only having dance, and now as she grew old, she found a love for romance novels, she’d sit in the back of the class room after finishing her work, reading something that she knew mostly wasn’t realistic, but allowed herself to dream about.
As Gracie got older, her body began to change, and so did her love for dance, she felt like she didn’t look like the other girls, and, since most of the other girls were made up of her classmates, they were sucking the fun out of it anyway. Gracie ended up the girl would keep even more to herself, reading her books, doing her work, going home to help her abuela cook. Her life was simple, and lonely, and she prayed for the day she could disappear.
When her senior year rolled around, things began to look up, she would count down the days until she was off in college, perhaps being able to break out of her shell and become a new person.
After the prank that was pulled on her during prom, she  took that quite literally. After the girls had her stood up, then mocked at the prom, she decided to opt out of finishing her school year in school.  Her grades were good enough, and she had already gotten into  the University of Washingto. She didn’t need to walk across stage, not when the only one who would celebrate with here was her abuela, anyway.  Graduation came and passed, and with her trust frund from her parents, Gracie De Leon moved to Seattle, and became Carmen Reyes, opting too legally change it so her degree wouldn’t show any  deficiencies. Carmen deleted all of her social media, and basically disappeared, her abuela flying out to see her for holidays rather than the other way around.  No one in Chicago would see her again, she could embrace her new self, and start fresh.
Carmen got a degree in education, and taught in Seattle for a few months before an offer came from a small town in the Olympic Peninsula, Juniper. Carmen, after losing her abuela a year before, knew that nothing was truly tying her down anymore, and so she packed her small studio apartment and made the move.
PRESENT.
Carmen has been living in Juniper for six years, working as a high school english teacher. She is a changed person, completely different from the shy, wall flower she used to be. She is an outspoken activist, a community volunteer, a dog mom and she has a core group of friends who she adores. It took her many years to get to this point, but she’s pretty sure this is what happiness feels like. Although, she still has that hope above all hopes that her life might fall in track with one of her romance novels.

So.  The conversation I thought would never happen in my lifetime.
My mother and I went out to dinner on Friday, with the conversation becoming more and more serious (alcohol does wonders).  I forget how it even came to this, but she mentioned how I say I have complex trauma and whether it comes from her.  Freezing, I had no idea what to say.  I wanted to be honest, but also didn’t want to deal with the fallout.  Finally I said she was part of it, in addition to hellhole.  How she responded was completely unexpected and left me speechless.  She said she has come to learn, through her own therapy, that it doesn’t matter how she remembers my childhood or how she tried her best, but that it was how I experienced it and how what she did was not enough.  I tried to soften it (I have no idea why) and say there wasn’t much information on bullying and how she had her own childhood trauma.  Shaking her head, she told me that doesn’t matter.  It wasn’t enough and wasn’t what I needed as a child.  Continuing, she said she recently learned what gaslighting was and she realized she did it to me.  And how sorry she is.  Which doesn’t excuse anything, but for me to know how deeply sorry she is and how she can’t expect me to forgive her if even she has trouble forgiving herself.
I just stared at her, trying not to cry.  I couldn’t believe this was happening.  Receiving an actual, genuine apology that isn’t this vague, blanket statement and quickly asking for forgiveness.  But stating how this specific apology is not an excuse and taking responsibility for her actions and the trauma it caused me.  Again, no idea why I was trying to soften it, but I described how I don’t remember a lot of what happened because I was so dissociated (which should have spoken for itself the level of trauma?  Like why am I softening this?).  I also said I didn’t have anywhere to go, between school and home.  I had no one.  To her credit, she didn’t have an immediate defensive reaction and acknowledged she should have just taken me out of hellhole after we moved when I was in kindergarden.  How I couldn’t have experienced anything worse in public school or how she should have put me on the waitlist for the local Catholic school.  She has told me as much in the past, so I tried not to let my head wonder what it would have been like.  How different my life would have been if I was taken out of hellhole before the worst of it.  I regret this, but I mentioned her as a fragmented child-part.  That I hate her so much, how she is not even deserving of a name.  Why I said all that, I have no idea.  Probably the alcohol talking.  She didn’t have a negative response…still, I do regret mentioning it.  Parts are so private and personal.  Too much to reveal.
I forget how she worded this (my head was already spinning), but she told me how she also used to be afraid that I liked my dad more and placed all the blame on her.  That I did have an actual  response to.  It wasn’t a matter of liking him more.  He just wasn’t there, so I don’t associate a lot of things with him.  I also mentioned how T has acknowledged the dynamic between mothers and daughters is very unique, in his experience.  Different from mothers and sons or fathers and daughters.  She nodded and seemed relieved?  I don’t know if that is the right word.  Once again, I tried to soften it and said I know she and my dad organized their work schedules so that one parent was always at home and I wouldn’t need to be in daycare.  It was almost like she spoke aloud this thought to herself by stating maybe that was the wrong thing to do.  Maybe it would have been better for me to be in daycare because she frequently worked the night shift and just remembers always being tired.  In my head, it made sense.  Her irritability, unpredictability, distance.  And I’m sure that made her more sensitive to dysregulation and triggers, which would then affect me.
Acknowledging this, I started to describe attachment trauma and the various types.  How I identify with disorganized attachment.  How deathly afraid I am of abandonment.  I recommended that she read the work of Janina Fisher since I resonate so much with her research and writing.  Just how spot on she writes about childhood, complex trauma, abuse and neglect, and attachment, particularly disorganized.  Kind of afraid of the consequences of the recommendation since Fisher blatantly names it as abuse and neglect.  But, I think Transforming the Living Legacy of Trauma is slightly more digestible than Healing the Fragmented Selves.  We’ll see where that goes.
My head is still frozen, days later.  During last night’s check-in, T told me all I have to do right now is take it in and process it.  There is no need to label it or shift perspective or accept a new reality.  To not dive into how to make sense of it.  For now, just sit with it and be mindful of my responses, to practice self-care and compassion.  Which feels too much for me to do.  My head is scrambling to make sense of it, to categorize it, to separate it into black and white, all or nothing.  Otherwise, it’s too terrifying to hold and just be.
How do I live with this now?  I don’t want them.  They ruined me.  I never stood a chance.  I wouldn’t be this way if it wasn’t for them.  I just want T.  People always leave.  All I am is a liar.  Intolerable.  Bitch.  Nothing.  Just an empty nothing.
So what does this mean?
What does this mean!

The Devil Is In The Detail
This is a story of abused power, of divine authority and the institutionalised evil and devils earning their wings for doing it. Background check: I grew up in the Catholic institution at a time of transition. Priests and nuns were being replaced by educated citizens within the school system and whilst the head of our school was a priest and some classes were still taught by dog collars, they were outnumbered and gone by the time I graduated. The purge had already happened in larger cities and our rural community resisted the change for far too long. Our school was once a college devoted solely to theology, putting white collars on young sons of farmers who could not afford an education and didn’t fancy the farming life, which would have otherwise been their only option. The college would be downgraded to an all boys private boarding school where they taught European superiority, latin, and the sciences of the great bearded architect in the sky. The priests didn’t relent their hold on power easily and they would have remained in power had it not been for a terrible event which forced them to step down from their posts.
When the abandoned nunnery at the back of the building was destroyed in a fire, the authorities on the scene uncovered the bones of children buried between the walls. It made the headlines of course, but further details were never made public and it remains unknown if the scene was ever investigated by officials. The rubble was swept under the rug quickly and a giant greenhouse sealed the grounds within months. Few people remember this. I asked the city for archives. The official word is that the nunnery was replaced by a greenhouse at such and such date. A matter of fact.
I remember because my father was a teacher there. All the local children went to public school but I had to go to this horrible private school because my father was a proud man. My father kept every newspaper clipping which mentioned his holy school, good or bad. After the fire and the horror exposed, my father reassured me with his favourite fit-all quotes: it-is-what-it-is, things-were-different-back-then, what-god-wants-god-gets. Such apathy did not come from his mother.
My gran fell in love with a white lumberjack, losing the respect of the Métis community who raised her, and her official status as first nation on her wedding day because of the ruling patriarchy. I loved my kokum (Michif for grandmother) and she loved me the most. I spent whole summers at her house. By that time, following her husband’s death, she had moved up North to be with her ageing siblings, far away from where my father lived, up steep hills and through man-made forests of towering twigs that magically grew from barren land. You never heard the song of a bird in those woods. A deer couldn’t walk between the pine trees and the sun-deprived ground offered no sustenance for the smaller animals that could, but the desolate landscape eventually opened up onto a great lake crowned by dozens of identical houses and a tall church spire. I never felt more at home anywhere else and that says a lot about my father’s home.
She had two surviving sisters and a brother for neighbours. We’d be together every day, sharing a meal or a song around a fire whenever possible. Between them, Koko (nickname for my kokum) was the only grandmother. The joy on their face when I arrived and their sadness when I left will always be imprinted in my memory whenever I think of them. When I hear about the residential schools scandal, I remember their own story of loss and grief, but I also remember their prayers to baby Jesus, the virgin Mary and the holy ghost. They all told me that I looked like baby Jesus and that one-day-without-a-doubt the Holy Mother would appear to me.
A colonised people converted to Christianity and made to suffer by the church they worship. It puzzles me still. I wish I had had the opportunity to ask them how could they keep faith in their tormentors?
I hear about institutionalised racism. Looking back in history, I see something far worse: institutionalised evil. Whilst the Catholic residential schools in Canada made it their mission to whitewash First Nations, the same systematic evil happened in Ireland where a sea of unmarked little shallow graves flows through holy grounds. These were the innocent children of the Irish nation. Orphans or sons and daughters from dirt-poor families.
The forest for the tree.
Colonisation, missionaries, conversion. It’s still happening today. Christian aid feeding a set-menu of bible and porridge to poor nations where there is no alternative.
I loved being outside with Koko and her siblings more than spending time inside their home. There were crucifixes in every room above doors and tables. In the bedroom where I slept, at the foot of the bed hung an illustration of the virgin Mary and the holy son sitting on a golden throne at the edge of a river of fire filled with distorted bodies. I remember how serene Mary and Jesus looked overseeing a sea of agonising souls. A perfect portrait of apathy. I remember the twisted eyes and mouths of the unholy. Above my head was a painting of Jesus holding his heart in one hand. A heartless man with a Mona Lisa smile. I always averted his roaming stare but I felt it piercing my flesh and pricking the marrow of my shivering bones.
Koko and her family told me about the horrors of the church before heeding the toll of the bells and kneeling at the pews for an hour every day during which time I collected crayfish by the lake for our supper. I’ll never know Koko’s reason for not forcing me to go to church with them, but I’d hazard a guess. I only wish I knew how they could kneel before this priest who later retired following a child-abuse scandal of his own.
No, these were not different times – empathy and love are not new virtues! Fear the leader of people who has the power to absolve his own sins. Good would never appoint evil as its servant.

·゚☀ i am already so tired of myself and i have class soon aGAIN ........ ugh well again , i am teddy , a she / her pronoun user and current mun to two muses in this delightful shining star of a group ! i now present galen , my newest gaming gf creation who just wants everyone to fucking include each other ! my preferred plotting method is via discord over at 𝐤𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 !#6439 , i’ll make a plotting call there and i’ll reach out to everyone who likes this !
      *       read   all   about   galen sorenson ,   otherwise   affectionately  nicknamed   the champ.   the   twenty - one  year  old  gamer  and  blossoming  actress  is   widely   known   for   being   uninhibited,   magnanimous,   self - deprecating,   capricious   and   recently   made   headlines   when   they   allegedly   dropped a sponsor due to their support of autism speaks .   apparently   judas   claims   to   be   sitting   on   an   even   bigger  story   involving   them   -   whatever   the   truth   may   be,   i'm   sure   it   won't   stay   hidden   for   long.   &    a screaming laugh following a jumpscare waking the whole house , overthinking an interaction hours after it’s passed , a childhood spent begging to be read the ugly duckling and lingering on every word , neurodiversity stickers pasted all over a gaming pc. ◜   ⭒  ic:   alisha boe.   cis woman.   she / her.
BIO : mohammed and karina sorenson have never been a conventional pair . to start , they meet when he , the biggest male model of the 80′s , is hired to walk for her winter collection , being one of europe’s top knitwear designers who never seems to go out of style . he’s eccentric and as magnetic as can be , she’s demure and has never said a word regarding anything but her work . they don’t make sense , but they’re married two years in secret before finally making their relationship known . mohammed , progressive and independent minded despite his traditional somali family , takes her last name and relocates to norway , where karina gives birth to a stunning baby girl that steals the hearts of the eu as the tabloids go crazy over her .
elissa is nearly 18 when her mother has the news to shock a nation : she’s miraculously pregnant , once more , far enough along that she intends to keep the baby despite both her and mohammed being into their 40′s . karina , having named their first baby , gives the reigns over to mo for their second child , but isn’t too happy with his pick
galen literally translates to mad , to incorrect , she argues , elissa firmly on her side
it gives her a chance to choose her own path . it gives her something to make for herself , mohammed counters , and that ends that .
galen is born in olso and is every bit as precious as her sister , now old enough to even potentially be her mother . her parents , busy with their ventures but over the moon to have a new baby in the house , raise her for her first few years in a small norwegian town to shield her from the prying eyes of the public
mohammed is first to notice that she doesn’t respond to her name or seem interested in looking at him , keeping her focus on whatever toy catches her eye for the day . he and karina write it off when she doesn’t hit her talking milestones or hold crayons the way other toddlers do , or figure she’s just an introvert when her preschool teacher mentions she doesn’t enjoy playing with the other kids during free time
they can’t ignore it any longer when she hits grade school , instantly falling behind with the rigorous private school pace and eventually warranting a visit from the school psychologist . she remembers the worry that paints her parents weathered faces when , at six years old , she’s given a laundry list of diagnoses and recommended for “ alternate ” schooling
something about the way her teachers treat her , so broken and unworthy of respect , makes her shut down , regressing with any progress she had shown and really refusing to cooperate with most adults she comes by . elissa is a budding starlet taking weekends off from film roles to spend time with her little sister , knowing that behind the quiet dark eyes of the child who wouldn’t look at you was a bright mind teeming with unsaid thoughts
her parents go to all ends to hire her private tutors and special therapists , which help her keep up at grade level . she’s in middle school when her science teacher , noting galen’s aptitude on exams and incredible recall , says she may fare better in an american school , recommending one he knows will accept a prestigious line such as the sorensons .
she moves to pennsylvania at 12 and the change is hard . she again regresses and suffers at the hands of her peers at the private catholic school she attends , her parents reaching a level of despair thinking they’ve failed their daughter , unable to get her the help she deserves despite their best attempts . galen , sick of being deemed the broken doll , seeks out an escape from the world to try and give her some reprieve from the constant pity she wishes she could express is only doing more harm than good
she likes makeup but sucks at it , enjoys art but can’t seem to draw for the life of her . she knows she’s tone deaf as all hell and doesn’t like sweating enough to be willing to dance . for once in her life , despite all the years of trying to ignore the well - meaning comments of those around her , galen starts to believe maybe there is something wrong about her .
it’s elissa’s celeb boyfriend who buys her an xbox for christmas , figuring the two could play it as a bonding experience . brimming with quiet gratitude , galen spends hours on the damn thing in between study sessions . tutors notice an improvement in focus , more motivation to work and get things done so she can finally hop back onto the console and escape into a fantasy .
she begs her parents to let her do homeschooling for her high school years , to which they agree and she thrives . she upgrades now to a gaming pc and plays through everything she can get her hands on . people on her teams don’t know her , and they don’t treat her any differently than anyone else , so before long she’s unlocking a bubblier side to herself that just feels content .
she records her playthroughs in silence ( she’s gaining confidence , but still shy , and god knows how the internet treats female gamers ) and uploads them to youtube under a stupid channel name with only a few hundred subscribers . noting the accuracy and speed with which galen destroys shooter games , someone suggests she try overwatch .
galen is hooked in an instant . she plays matches in between daily activities and quickly climbs ranks to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the competitive community . after finding a team where she feels particularly at - home , they launch to stardom due to their sweeping wins and incredible cohesion . galen becomes something of an overnight sensation , quiet and unassuming , and this recognition feels like the validation she’s been seeking for herself this whole time
she blossoms and cements her legacy as an overwatch competitive titan by the time she graduates , reaching grandmaster status and being known throughout the community for her strategy and technique . her youtube channel grows exponentially , and after realizing this is a viable future for herself , galen posts her playthroughs with her commentary and finds that people love what she does . she moves to new york in order to collaborate with other big gamers , and on her channel , she does a combination of horror games , overwatch trainings , and new release reviews and builds a following similar to markiplier or jackseptic eye , with a second vlog channel to document when she goes off to tournaments or simple things from her days
she’s 19 when her repeated wins get the attention of a massive gaming studio who invite her to come record some lines as an easter egg of sorts for her fans in a new game they’re developing . her work is met with rave reviews and suddenly game titans are nearly breaking down her door for more voice acting work . galen , who’s always felt like the ugly duckling compared to her sister’s perfect legacy , takes this opportunity to emulate her sister’s career , and nearly doubles over when a film studio approaches her with interest of casting her as a supporting role in a project of theirs . though she’s never pictured herself to be in front of a camera quite like that , with some coaching , galen nails it , and finds the high of acting catapults her from relative fame into newfound stardom .
she’s one of the newer members of the brat pack considering her youtube fame was more inconspicuous than her film work , though she still is adjusting to life in the limelight . she stays close to her roots and continues to post regularly to her channel and streams on twitch , collaborating with other increasingly big names to gain her more views .
galen’s most notable push since rising to fame has been her advocacy for neurodiversity and recognition for how poorly people with learning disabilities are treated in society . she doesn’t go in detail with her diagnoses but she does make jokes about them on her stream in order to normalize their mentions . she recently dropped a sponsor for their support of autism speaks and donates a majority of her merch revenue and tournament winnings to advocacy causes . she’s proud of who she is and hopes the future can be shaped into what kids like her needed when they were growing up .
galen lives up to her father’s prediction this whole time and changes her channel’s name to galengaming , proud to tout the moniker that spurred her to create a path she wanted rather than be told who to be by the world around her .
PERSONALITY : galen has an energy about her that is like the sun hidden behind a cloud . upon first impressions , she’s a bit more timorous and nervous as she gets her footing of wherever she may be , especially with some of the more public - eye type settings she’s been put in since sort of being sucked into the brat pack . she wants to make sure she’s acting appropriately for whatever the situation calls and may often seem tense or apprehensive .
once she’s loosened up or seen a familiar face she can latch onto , she blossoms into a ball of unfiltered energy . she loves humor and memes and can often be found competitively launching memes she’s found into her team’s group discord server . she’s witty and often makes herself the butt of her own jokes in order to lighten the mood , though she’ll be sure to clarify that she loves herself and only does so to keep herself humble lmao .
her playthroughs are VERY stream of consciousness but its this lack of filter that seems to be her fans’ favorite thing about her , a willingness to say whatever unhinged thing she may be thinking followed by a shrieking scream after a jumpscare or a string of screeching expletives after missing a goal
she can perhaps sometimes be too unfiltered and unwittingly come across as harsh or blunt , though she’ll often realize this after the fact and feel incredibly remorseful . galen has a habit to overthink and will panic for the rest of the night if she fears she’s inadvertently offended you , but won’t apologize due to being too nervous to figure out exactly how to do so ssksksks
one of galen’s most notable qualities is her heart , her benevolence and empathy that lead her to want everyone to feel included regardless of how different they may be . though she tries to give everyone a chance , there’s a fair amount of people perhaps too materialistic for her to get along with , and her polite way to ignore them is simply keeping her distance and pretending to not know them
which . in her own way . comes across as shady sksksk “oh you know so and so ? ” omg no i dont haha who are they “ u literally met them last night ” hahaha no i didnt x
she can be prone to mood swings simply due to a sensitivity to her own feelings and a tendency to overthink . she’ll wonder why she feels weird and even if it’s just because she’s hungry she’ll assume it’s because she said “thanks you too” when the cashier told her to enjoy her meal and then she has to sulk and play animal crossing alone in the dark for an hour before she can come out and be chill again even tho she feels worse than when she started bc shes just HUNGRY ASKSKKS
she’s used to being infantilized so she tends to be sort of short tempered if people talk down to her . this is when the wit kicks in as she is really just tired of being treated poorly by people who don’t even know her and has decided she will refuse to take any more shit ! can be a bit snippy even without realizing it but if she’s close to you she’ll usually be like “ oh my god that was rude as fuck im so sorry ” and feel bad for 20 minutes even after you say its okay lmaoo
random blurbs : um DONT ask me who she plays in her overwatch tournaments bc im using opossum and wikipedia to figure shit out as i goes , but i know for sure she calls out a lot of misogyny in the gaming world on social media !
always has her switch with her i KNOW this for a fact
anime nerd ....... nobody call her out on it she will deny until she is blue in the face and then hum the one punch man intro in her streams as if hundreds of thousands of people arent witnesses LMAO
this is so stereotypical nerd but she hates the outdoors ! says the US is so dirty and stuffy she says scandanavia is the only place she’ll ever like to be outside , she slips into norwegian when she’s recording if she gets jumpscared so she doesnt get demonetized for over - swearing lmao
also speaks french because she picked it up from her mom ! her dad usually only spoke english or norwegian , so galen didn’t get to pick up on much somali or arabic but she def knows at least a few words here and there
she vlogs a good amount of her life but she’s kinda shy about talking about who she’s dating , will probably try to keep her romantic life to herself !
excited as all hell to get into acting but the super fame that’s coming with it kinda freaks her out . she knows it’s a trade off bc she loves the feeling it gives her but hates how people are now overstepping a lot of boundaries that they didn’t before when she was just a popular youtuber
inspos are juno from the iconic movie juno , toph beifong from atla , louis theroux YES THE DOCUMENTARY GUY LEAF ME AL ONE , & amy from booksmart !

In the spotlight: Lord Byron (1788-1824): Poet, aristocrat, exile, patron of independence movements...
-George Gordon Byron was born January 22nd, 1788 in London, England to Captain John Byron, a British Army officer and his second wife Catherine Gordon, a Scottish heiress. Byron’s father routinely had debts from gambling and most accounts suggest the marriage to Gordon was for access to her family fortune.  Quickly, John Byron ran through most of his wife’s money and then ran off to France leaving his wife and young son to fend for themselves, he also a daughter Augusta from his first marriage.  John died most probably from tuberculosis or a drug overdose, though his son always suspected suicide, John was 35 years old.
-The young George was then brought up by his mother in her native Scotland in the city of Aberdeen with at best modest living conditions.
-George’s paternal grandfather was a Vice-Admiral in the Royal Navy, also named John who circumnavigated the globe in his younger days.  He was the younger son of the 4th Baron Byron of Rochdale, William Byron and younger brother of the 5th Baron Byron, William Byron also known as the “Wicked Lord” or the “Devil Byron”.  The 5th title holder in the family (George’s great uncle) was famed aristocrat, known for his temperamental behavior, gambling, dueling and various rumored scandals (all traits attached to the Byron family).
-The 5th Baron Byron eventually outlived his son and grandson who would have been his heirs to title and fortune, his grandson was due to inherit the title until a military life lead to his untimely death in battle.  Subsequently, young George Gordon Byron was the next of kin to receive the title.  This occurred with the 5th Baron Byron passed away in 1798. making George the 6th Baron Byron.  The title meant a membership in the British Peerage and a seat in the House of Lords in Parliament.  Ever after, George Gordon was known as Lord Byron or Byron.  As part of his inheritance he was moved to Newstead Abbey, the ancestral home in Nottinghamshire, England.
-Byron was moved to Newstead by his mother only to find the estate in disrepair and ruin.  While he was now wealthy due to the family fortune and good afford better lodgings, they decided Newstead was no place to stay and instead work continually on repairs and leased it out to other nobles as a source of income.
-Byron was educated by private tutors and also had a tempestuous relationship with his mother.  She was prone to alcoholism and mood swings and alternately berated her son and offered him unique amounts of praise.  He was especially sensitive to his appearance regarding his deformed foot, which resulted from a botched delivery during his birth and gave him a slight limp in his later years though he was always sensitive of it.  He also battled with weight issues, his mother was overweight and Byron would regularly exercise and adopt a very mixed diet over the years and the combination of dieting and exercise eventually caused him to lose weight but he would fluctuate between weight gain and loss his entire life.  He also later showed signs of bulimia.
-Byron attended the private Harrow school and later Cambridge University.  While at Cambridge Byron engaged in gambling adding up debts that would plague him for years as well as experiencing many sexual relationships with both men and women.  His relationships with men however had to be kept strictly quiet since, the death penalty for homosexuality of any form was practiced in law in England.  Byron also formed platonic friendships with friends such as John Hobhouse, his faithful best friend for the remainder of his life and companion on some of Byron’s later adventures.  While there, Byron also was exposed to Liberal politics of the day, which was mostly pro-republican and somewhat admiring of the French Revolution and in particular Napoleon Bonaparte.
-Byron’s first poetry was published at the age of 17, though he was self-critical of the results and it was badly reviewed.  Though he was to suffer many a bad review from Conservative/Tory leaning literary magazines that disapproved of Byron’s liberal political leanings and later scandalous lifestyle.  They in turn would be the target of his satirical poems.
- Byron decided to take the Grand Tour in 1809.  This was the tour across Europe undertaken by typically wealthy British and American young men that spread from Western Europe to the east, to ostensibly study classical history and experience culture, for some though it was an extended version of modern spring break where college students party endlessly.  For Byron it would be a mix of the two.  Byron went on the trip with Hobhouse and an entourage of servants, including his valet William Fletcher.
-The traditional Grand Tour itinerary however was altered for Byron due to the ongoing Napoleonic Wars which meant he would bypass Central Europe altogether.  Instead he went to Portugal and later the Balkans and Mediterranean islands.  Byron was influenced by tales of Islamic countries such as the Persian and Ottoman Empires from a young age and took an interest in Sufism a mystical variation of Islam.
-Byron also may have been motivated to travel to the East for their relaxed attitudes on homosexuality relative to England at the time.  Indeed he did partake in sexual activity with men and women on numerous occasions, adding to his already increasingly scandalous reputation.  His time was spent in Greece and Albania in particular where he made the acquaintance of Ali Pasha of Ioannina, an Albanian Governor-General in a region of Northern Greece, all then part of the Ottoman Empire.  Byron was greatly influenced by the culture of Albania and Greece and even fancied himself dressing in their style of clothing and riding horses in the mountainous terrain, sightseeing lands not commonly visited by Western Europeans at the time.  From Greece, Byron visited Turkey including the Ottoman capital, Constantinople where he had a brief audience with the Sultan, though Byron appeared underwhelmed and unimpressed with the Sultan in his recollections.  He also famously swam the famed Hellespont between Asia Minor and Europe near the Straits of Gallipoli.  Byron was always an excellent swimmer and boxer among other athletic endeavors.  Seen by some as a well to overcome his deformed foot.
-After two years on the tour, Byron returned to England to work on his recollections of his trip in longform narrative poems and to take his seat in Parliament.  Byron’s collection of poems, published in 1812 collectively known as Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage became a best seller of British Romantic poetry and remains an influential English language narrative poem.  It was indeed semi-autobiographical and established the literary archetype of the Byronic hero.  An extension of Byron’s ideals in literary format, his ideal man of action.  A mirror reflection though somewhat embellished of Byron himself, a man engaged in carnal and material pleasures who has become disillusioned and seeks venture for greater meaning in foreign far off lands.  Childe Harold captured a wider European cultural zeitgeist in the waning years of the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, it infused Romantic lyricism, a reverence for nature and escapism in richly described foreign settlings from the harsh realities of war and indeed the oncoming malaise of the Industrial Revolution in its infancy.
-Byron became an instant literary celebrity and indeed became the early 19th century’s version on a modern day popstar with a carefully cultivated image to match the public perception of him.  Byron was almost renowned for his physical beauty and soon attracted many liaisons with women in British high society.  He also attended parties, this was at the height of the era known in British history as the Regency and Byron was its premier celebrity.  Sought after for his portrait, lockets of hair and his time, his mind and his body, he both courted and grew to reject his newfound fame.  His most famous affair during this time was with a noblewoman named Caroline Lamb, a married woman with a son.  Byron’s brief fling with Lamb lead to him calling off the affair, however their time together had been passionate for both but most especially Lamb.  She became obsessive in her thoughts of him, writing letters and staking him.  She famously described Byron as “mad, bad and dangerous to know” which became his unofficial epitaph.
-Byron’s continued his poetry which was increasingly successful and his poems were published in other countries to growing success as well, even if the reviews by the Tory press at home was not especially noteworthy.  Byron’s image and mystique as a brooding and intense personality with a flair for dress and image added to the sales of the his poems, making him one of the few commercially successful poets in their lifetime.  His career with government was not especially noteworthy.  Other than a few speeches on improving the conditions of the poor and especially the rights of Catholics in Ireland, Byron’s time in the House of Lords was mostly a footnote in his life.  Writing and scandal were the dominant themes from here on out in his life.
-In 1815 with a sense to gain more funds, like his father due to his gambling debts, Byron sought to marry a noble heiress.  He married Anne Isabelle Milbanke who became Lady Byron.  Anne or Annabella as she was known was strict and religious woman as well as showing an interest in mathematics, very much the opposite of her worldly husband and his renown for amoral behavior.  They had a daughter Ada in late 1815 who grew up to become known as Ada Lovelace, known for her assistance in developing a precursor to the modern computer.  Ada had her mother’s mathematics education and her father’s temperament.  However, the marital bliss and family life soon gave way to Byron’s mood swings, alcoholism, sexual deviancy including charges of homosexuality, sodomy on his wife and a rumored affair with his own half-sister Augusta, with whom he had reconnected upon his return to England, he possibly was the father of one of her children though this isn’t confirmed.
-News of these accusations created a brewing scandal in London and indeed the whole of Britain.  Byron’s wife proposed a separation which he accepted given the swirling rumors.  They never divorced officially but Byron was about to depart England to go into uncertain exile to escape the attention brought onto him by his various scandals and due to his weariness of life in England and the nature of celebrity.  It seemed instead of art being inspired by life, he was now a case of life imitating art, a hedonistic life had lead to weariness and a renewed desire to travel.
-In spring 1816, separated from his wife and shortly before his departure from England.  Byron engaged in another affair with a teenage girl by the name of Claire Clairmont.  She was the stepdaughter of famed political philosopher and anarchist William Godwin who was the biological father of her future famous stepsister, Mary Godwin, known to history as Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein.  That spring, Byron left England, never to see his wife, daughter, Ada, his half-sister or his home country ever again.  He made his way through France which was now at peace due to Napoleon’s final defeat the year before.  From there he ventured to Geneva Switzerland, where he rented a house on Lake Geneva with its view of the Alps.
-He was joined by his entourage of servants and private zoo of animals and his physician, the Anglo-Italian doctor and author John Polidori.  Byron was soon joined by Claire Clairmont, Mary Shelley and her husband, the poet and philosopher Percy Shelley.  Percy and Byron were mutual admirers and became fast friends for the rest of their lives.  The group of five met and told ghost stories and eventually challenged one another to write a scary story contest.  In the end, neither Byron nor Percy could muster much of a tale but Mary got her ideas for Frankenstein in that contest held in June 1816.  Polidori also wrote a short story called the Vampyre which was based on Byron’s mysterious image and later influenced Dracula and the vampire genre of horror.
-Byron enjoyed Percy and Mary’s company but grew tired of the resumed affair with Claire, especially when it turned out she was pregnant with his child.  The Shelleys and Byron parted ways with him going off to Italy and them to France and back to England.  He also parted ways with Polidori who returned to England.
-Byron spent the majority of his remaining years in exile in italy which was at the time a divided country under mostly imperial control of the Austrian Empire and in part the Papal States, along with a few other Italian monarchies, all of this was at odds with Byron’s liberal sympathies.  He first spent time in Milan, visiting the famed opera and the sights before settling into Venice.  Byron continued to write and send manuscripts back to Britain for publication where they continued to sell regularly.  Byron worked on the next parts of Child Harold’s Pilgrimage and his other major work, Don Juan which further was taken from his life in exile and pushed the image of the Byronic hero.
-In Venice, Byron absorbed culture and continued to engage in affairs with multiple Italian women, including his married landlady at one point.  One of his lovers fought with Byron so much that he spent his time in a Venetian gondola to escape into the back canals of the city.  Byron in Venice also celebrated his love of swimming by completing the full length of the Grand Canal.  He also took an interest in a monastic order of monks from Armenia.  He became a regular patron of this order and in turn was taught the Armenian language and history.  Through this new found love of Armenian culture and language, Byron helped compile the influential English-Armenian dictionary, published in 1821.
-Tired of Venice, Byron visited Rome and then returned to Venice where he met and fell in love with the woman who would become the last long term relationship of his life, Teresa Guiccioli.  Teresa was a married Italian noblewoman whose family had connections with the underground Italian liberation movement which was revolutionary in its goal of Italian nationalism and overthrowing the Austrian occupation of Italy.  Byron moved to Ravenna in 1819 to be close to her, there he spent the next two years writing and interacting with Italian revolutionaries.  Activity that could put him under suspicion of the Austrian secret police.
-Byron was rejoined with Percy Shelley in 1821, the Shelleys relocated to Italy in exile due to escaping political agitation as Shelley’s atheism and anarchist beliefs along with growing debts landed him in trouble back in England.  in 1822, Byron, Shelley and friend Leigh Hunt all settled on moving to Pisa to start a literary newspaper there.  However, it was not meant to be when Percy Shelley drowned at sea in a storm, dying at age 29.  His body washed ashore but was identified only by the copy of a poem by John Keats was found on him, which he was known to have had at the time.  Shelley admired the other future great British Romantic poet Keats and invited him to Italy where Keats had gone to treat his bad health at doctors orders before he died in 1821 at age 25 of tuberculosis.  Byron was not an admirer of Keats but he was quite sad at the loss of Shelley’s whose idealism he admired.  Shelley very much tried to live up to the liberal principles he espoused whereas Byron described them and indeed was sympathetic to them but rarely demonstrated action in a self-indulgent life to back up his beliefs.  Shelley’s death left Byron with his own sense of mortality and with a desire to do something more meaningful.
-Byron and Teresa moved on from Pisa to Genoa in 1822-1823. While there Byron completed more works for Don Juan among others.  However, he had grown tired of his domestic life with Teresa over the last five years and while inspired by his contacts with Italian nationalists felt they nor he could amount to much at the time in enacting on revolutionary activities.  That’s when he made contacts with members of the philhellene societies in England about helping out with the prospect of Greek Independence.
-Greece had been under the control of the Ottoman Empire since the 15th century.  In 1821 it finally launched a widespread but dysfunctional revolt against the Turks, some portions of the country were successful and others not.  However, Greek rebels needed foreign funding from rich Greek exiles and expats as well as foreigners who had pro-Greek sympathies: philhellenes of which there were many in Western Europe including Britain and even America.  They supported the Greeks for their cultural heritage of democracy, philosophy and art, as the cradle of Western Civilization which was greatly influenced by ancient Greece.  Byron in his own studies of history and his earlier adventures to Greece shared these sympathies but he also admired the mystical aspects of Islam, even if he didn’t like the Ottoman’s political oppression of Greeks.
-Byron ultimately agreed to leave Italy for Greece to support the cause of Greek independence.  What exactly was he to do wasn’t entirely clear but it was his chance for once to use his fame and resources for a cause he deemed noble.  He sought to help in anyway he could, personally funding the procurement of supplies for the Greek rebels and possibly even leading a military command though he had no prior military experience.  Byron’s celebrity endorsement of Greece was viewed positively by the rebels.  Though problematically as Byron found out upon his arrival in late 1823, the Greeks were divided into rival factions almost inclined to fight each other while also fighting the Turks and Byron saw this disunity as a distraction to their great disadvantage.  Each faction sought to get his attention and his money.
-Byron ultimately settled into the marshy areas surrounding the city of Missolonghi in early 1824.  Here at his rented home he met with rebel leaders and devised all sorts of plans and contacts but just before a planned siege against the Turks under his personal leadership could be implemented, Byron caught a fever and ultimately after failed medical treatments died of sepsis from being bled to death, he was 36 years old.
-Byron’s death was viewed as heroic in Greece, as a man who despite his foreign birth and despite his wealth and fame sought to put his life on the line to aid in the independence of their country out of genuine interest in their cause.  His premature death in light of any concrete action other than some funding was irrelevant, it was the principle rather than anything else that mattered.  To this day, Byron is a somewhat common name in Greece as a tribute to his memory.  His death also drew attention to the cause of Greek independence and may have inspired more funds from abroad to be donated in addition to inspiring foreigners to take up arms and fight side by side with the Greeks and indeed some years later British, French and Russian military intervention against the Turks decided the guerilla war in the Greeks favor, giving birth to the modern Greek nation officially in 1830.
-Byron’s body was embalmed and sent back to England, where he was buried in Newstead Abbey, his ancestral home.  It is said that his funeral procession to Newstead Abbey happened to pass his former lover Caroline Lamb, in her carriage going the opposite direction.  Lamb who hadn’t seen him in years, when informed that it was Byron’s funeral procession, is said to have suffered another nervous breakdown, further demonstrating that even in death, Byron had great effect on the people who encountered him.  Indeed his legacy both for his writing, his celebrity and his death in the cause for Greek independence all endure today...

"Theresa May's Style: Put Your Head Down and Get to Work" By STEVEN ERLANGER for the New York Times JULY 13, 2016 LONDON — Her beloved father, an Anglican vicar, died in a car crash when she was 25, after she had been married only a year, and her mother, who had multiple sclerosis, died a few months later. For Theresa May, a cherished only child, the shock was devastating. It brought her even closer to her husband, Philip, two years younger, whom she had met at Oxford, at a Conservative Party disco. They bonded over cricket and silly university debates, like the one where Philip induced her to speak for the motion “That sex is good… but success is better.” Both became bankers, and Ms. May threw herself into the Conservative politics that had entranced her since the age of 12, when she liked to argue with her father and he asked her, in order to maintain neutrality in his parish, not to parade her Tory colors in public. “Politics captured me,” Ms. May said in 2014. “That sounds terribly trite,” she said, but “I wanted to make a difference, I wanted to be part of the debate.” On Wednesday, Ms. May, 59, became Britain’s prime minister, the last adult standing after other senior members of her party — the clever younger men from Britain’s elite schools, like her predecessor, David Cameron — schemed each other out of contention. For Ms. May, only Britain’s second female prime minister, it is a job she never publicly acknowledged wanting, until Mr. Cameron, bluff and self-confident, pushed his luck once too often, lost the referendum on keeping Britain in the European Union and quit. Ms. May, who had been home secretary, is considered “a safe pair of hands,” not flashy and even dull, who seems to be a candidate of continuity. But the country’s dire circumstances may demand more. And Ms. May, a traditional economic and social conservative in many respects, has signaled a desire to give her party a new focus on the need to build a fairer society. With Britain deeply divided over its decision to leave the European Union, its place in the world in flux, its unity threatened by calls for Scottish independence and its economy at risk, the times may require that Ms. May be both steady and bold. Her six-year tenure at the Home Office showed her to be a tough operator and put her in charge of a number of flash-point issues. She demanded police reforms to reduce racial profiling. She helped push through surveillance policies that had to balance fears of terrorism against civil liberties and confronted public pressure to reduce immigration, failing to meet government targets for doing so. If sometimes at odds with Mr. Cameron’s inner circle — she was a quiet critic of the government’s budget austerity — she nonetheless built a reputation as smart and competent. Damian Green, who worked for her as Home Office minister until 2014, said that “Theresa doesn’t do verbiage, doesn’t do speeches for the sake of making speeches. One of her virtues is that when she says something today she means it tomorrow.” But she will have to bind a badly torn party in which she has won esteem but few close friends. She will also have to juggle competing priorities in negotiating the withdrawal from the European Union under the watchful eye of Brexit supporters who remain wary of her commitment to their cause. Even though she publicly if tepidly supported remaining in Europe out of loyalty to Mr. Cameron, saying it would be best for the nation’s security, at heart “she is a Euroskeptic,” said Catherine Meyer, a former treasurer of the Conservative Party and a friend of the Mays’. “When she says Brexit means out, she means it.” While respected within the European Union as a tough and unpretentious negotiator, Ms. May will have to find the right balance between more controls on immigration that the voters demanded and at least partial access, if she can manage it, to the single market of the European Union. Friends say that her early religious upbringing — she is an Anglican but went to a Roman Catholic school — has given Ms. May a moral base, a steady personality and a feeling for the disadvantaged. “Her background has shaped her into somebody who is not going to feel sorry for herself or blame others for her mistakes, and who finds solace in moving forward, not to sit but to fight,” said Ms. Meyer, who worked with Ms. May on a charity for abducted children. A young woman who hunched her shoulders at school to seem less tall has grown into a proud master of her responsibilities. She lives for her work and her husband, a well-off investment banker, and their time together in their neat house in Sonning-on-Thames, in Berkshire, in the heart of her Maidenhead constituency, a village she shares with better-known types like the guitarist Jimmy Page and George and Amal Clooney. She likes to cook and owns more than 100 cookbooks, and will likely be glad that the Camerons took the heat for remodeling the ancient kitchen at 10 Downing Street. Mr. Cameron valued her workaholic talents, naming her Home Office secretary, one of the four senior cabinet posts, only the second woman to hold the job. Wary of her quiet ambition and wanting to protect his own favorite, George Osborne, the chancellor of the Exchequer, he never promoted her further. But he did not demote her, either, even as she failed to deliver on one of the government’s key pledges, to curb immigration. She was famous for fighting her corner, knowing her subject and keeping clear of the Cameron “chumocracy.” Ms. May is polite but not chummy, works late and does not hang around Parliament’s bars. Her lack of a “set of friends” was considered one of her great liabilities in the race to succeed Mr. Cameron, said Crispin Blunt, a Conservative member of Parliament who is one of her supporters. “There wasn’t an army of mates for her,” he said, but it allows her now to make appointments to her government on the basis of her own priorities and assessments. “In government, sometimes it’s difficult to be a woman surrounded by lots of men,” said Ms. Meyer. “Like Margaret Thatcher, she likes the company of men, but she’s capable of putting her fist down.” Ms. May was co-founder in 2005 of a group called “Women2Win,” to elect more women to Parliament and then nurture them, something that Mrs. Thatcher, the first woman to lead Britain, was often criticized for failing to do. In office, Ms. May has been rigorous, largely sticking to her brief, which she knew in depth, and not often consulting cabinet colleagues. One former minister, Kenneth Clarke, called her “a bloody difficult woman,” a description she embraced. She tends to work alone or with a small number of aides, like Fiona Hill and Nick Timothy, and has a tendency to micromanage, a senior civil servant said, asking anonymity. After two failed attempts, she was elected to Parliament in 1997. In 2002, when chosen to chair the party, Ms. May gave a speech about the need to reach out to the less fortunate. “Our base is too narrow and so, occasionally, are our sympathies,” she said. “You know what some people call us? The nasty party. I know that’s unfair, you know that’s unfair, but it’s the people out there that we have to convince.” In 2014, she again earned attention for taking on the powerful police union, the Police Federation, limiting “stop and search” because of racial bias and imposing elected oversight commissions on the police. To a stunned conference of police, shesaid: “The federation was created by an act of Parliament and it can be reformed by an act of Parliament. If you do not change of your own accord we will impose change on you.” Among her most controversial acts was helping to push through a so-called “snooper’s charter,” giving the police and security services new powers in a world of digital communications and terrorism. After criticism that the measure impinged too much on civil liberties and individual rights, she agreed to some changes. Ms. May has been compared to Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany – both daughters of Protestant clergymen, both with quiet, private husbands, both without children, both hardworking and rather distant. Ms. May clearly sees the similarities, including being underestimated by men. “If you look at somebody like Angela Merkel and think of what she’s actually achieved, you know, there are still people who don’t rate her, are a bit dismissive, perhaps because of the way she looks and dresses,” Ms. May said in a 2012 interview with the Daily Telegraph. “What matters is, what has she actually done? And, when you look at her abilities in terms of negotiation, and steering Germany through a difficult time, then hats off to her.” She has only rarely spoken publicly about her personal life, though it briefly became a campaign issue when one of her challengers, Angela Leadsom, seemed to suggest that she had a greater stake in Britain’s future because she has children and Ms. May does not. “You look at families all the time and you see there is something there that you don’t have,” Ms. May said in the 2012 interview with The Daily Telegraph, when asked about not having children. “You accept the hand life deals you.” Ms. May took the same attitude to her diagnosis of diabetes, for which she said she gave herself four injections a day. “Just get on and deal with it,” she said. She has made a calculated effort to show some inner life and spark by her choice of clothes, especially her kitten-heeled animal-print shoes, which the British press chronicles avidly. “You can be clever and like clothes,” she has said. “One of the challenges for women in politics is to be ourselves.” When asked on Desert Island Discs what single novel she wanted as a castaway, she answered, “Pride and Prejudice.” And her single luxury? “A lifetime subscription to Vogue.”

Douglas Elton Fairbanks born Douglas Elton Thomas Ullman; May 23, 1883 – December 12, 1939) was an American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. He was best known for his swashbuckling roles in silent films including The Thief of Bagdad, Robin Hood, and The Mark of Zorro, but spent the early part of his career making comedies.
Fairbanks was a founding member of United Artists. He was also a founding member of The Motion Picture Academy and hosted the 1st Academy Awards in 1929. With his marriage to actress and film producer Mary Pickford in 1920, the couple became 'Hollywood royalty', and Fairbanks was referred to as "The King of Hollywood", a nickname later passed on to actor Clark Gable.
Though widely considered as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood during the 1910s and 1920s, Fairbanks' career rapidly declined with the advent of the "talkies". His final film was The Private Life of Don Juan (1934).
Fairbanks was born Douglas Elton Thomas Ullman (spelled "Ulman" by Douglas Fairbanks Jr. in his memoirs) in Denver, Colorado, the son of Hezekiah Charles Ullman (September 15, 1833 – February 23, 1915) and Ella Adelaide (née Marsh; 1847–1915). He had two half-brothers, John Fairbanks, Jr. (born 1873) and Norris Wilcox (February 20, 1876 – October 21, 1946), and a full brother, Robert Payne Ullman (March 13, 1882 – February 22, 1948). His father was born in Berrysburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in Williamsport. He was the fourth child in a Jewish family consisting of six sons and four daughters. Charles' parents, Lazarus Ullman and Lydia Abrahams, had immigrated to the U.S. in 1830 from Baden, Germany.
When he was 17, Charles started a small publishing business in Philadelphia. Two years later, he left for New York to study law.
Charles met Ella Adelaide Marsh after she married his friend and client John Fairbanks, a wealthy New Orleans sugar mill and plantation owner. The couple had a son, John, and shortly thereafter John Senior died of tuberculosis. Ella, born into a wealthy southern Roman Catholic family, was overprotected and knew little of her husband's business. Consequently, she was swindled out of her fortune by her husband's partners. Even the efforts of Charles Ullman, acting on her behalf, failed to regain any of the family fortune for her.
Distraught and lonely, she met and married a courtly Georgian, Edward Wilcox, who turned out to be an alcoholic. After they had another son, Norris, she divorced Wilcox, with Charles acting as her own lawyer in the suit. She soon became romantically involved with Charles, and agreed to move to Denver with him to pursue mining investments. They arrived in Denver in 1881 with her son John. (Norris was left in Georgia with relatives and was never sent for by his mother.) They were married; in 1882 they had a son, Robert, and then a second son, Douglas, a year later. Charles purchased several mining interests in the Rocky Mountains, and re-established his law practice. After hearing of his wife's philandering, he abandoned the family when Douglas was five years old. Douglas and his older brother Robert were brought up by their mother, who gave them the family name Fairbanks, after her first husband.
Douglas Fairbanks began acting at an early age, in amateur theatre on the Denver stage, performing in summer stock at the Elitch Gardens Theatre, and other productions sponsored by Margaret Fealy, who ran an acting school for young people in Denver. He attended Denver East High School, and was expelled for cutting the wires on the school piano.
He left school in the spring of 1899, at the age of 15. He variously claimed to have attended Colorado School of Mines and Harvard University, but neither claim is true. He went with the acting troupe of Frederick Warde, beginning a cross country tour in September 1899. He toured with Warde for two seasons, functioning in dual roles, both as actor and as the assistant stage manager in his second year with the group.
After two years he moved to New York, where he found his first Broadway role in Her Lord and Master, which premiered in February 1902. He worked in a hardware store and as a clerk in a Wall Street office between acting jobs.[6] His Broadway appearances included the popular A Gentleman from Mississippi in 1908–09. On July 11, 1907, Fairbanks married Anna Beth Sully, the daughter of wealthy industrialist Daniel J. Sully, in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. They had one son, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., also a noted actor. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1915.
After moving to Los Angeles, Fairbanks signed a contract with Triangle Pictures in 1915 and began working under the supervision of D. W. Griffith. His first film was titled The Lamb, in which he debuted the athletic abilities that would gain him wide attention among theatre audiences. His athleticism was not appreciated by Griffith, however, and he was brought to the attention of Anita Loos and John Emerson, who wrote and directed many of his early romantic comedies.
In 1916, Fairbanks established his own company, the Douglas Fairbanks Film Corporation, and would soon get a job at Paramount.
Fairbanks met actress Mary Pickford at a party in 1916, and the couple soon began an affair. In 1917, they joined Fairbanks' friend Charlie Chaplin selling war bonds by train across the United States and delivering pro-war speechs as Four Minute Men. Pickford and Chaplin were the two highest paid film stars in Hollywood at that time. To curtail these stars' astronomical salaries, the large studios attempted to monopolize distributors and exhibitors. By 1918, Fairbanks was Hollywood's most popular actor, and within three years of his arrival, Fairbanks' popularity and business acumen raised him to the third-highest paid.
In 1917, Fairbanks capitalized on his rising popularity by publishing a self-help book, Laugh and Live which extolled the power of positive thinking and self-confidence in raising one's health, business and social prospects.
To avoid being controlled by the studios and to protect their independence, Fairbanks, Pickford, Chaplin, and D. W. Griffith formed United Artists in 1919, which created their own distributorships and gave them complete artistic control over their films and the profits generated.
Sully was granted a divorce from Fairbanks in late 1918, the judgment being finalized early the following year. After the divorce, the actor was determined to have Pickford become his wife, but she was still married to actor Owen Moore. Fairbanks finally gave her an ultimatum. She then obtained a rapid divorce in the small Nevada town of Minden on March 2, 1920. Fairbanks leased the Beverly Hills mansion Grayhall and was rumored to have used it during his courtship of Pickford. The couple married on March 28, 1920. Pickford's divorce from Moore was contested by Nevada legislators, however, and the dispute was not settled until 1922. Even though the lawmakers objected to the marriage, the public widely supported the idea of "Everybody's Hero" marrying "America's Sweetheart". That enthusiasm, in fact, extended far beyond the borders of the United States. Later, while honeymooning in Europe, Fairbanks and Pickford were warmly greeted by large crowds in London and Paris. Both internationally and at home, the celebrated couple were regarded as "Hollywood Royalty" and became famous for entertaining at "Pickfair", their Beverly Hills estate.
By 1920, Fairbanks had completed twenty-nine films (twenty-eight features and one two-reel short), which showcased his ebullient screen persona and athletic ability. By 1920, he had the inspiration of staging a new type of adventure-costume picture, a genre that was then out of favor with the public; Fairbanks had been a comic in his previous films. In The Mark of Zorro, Fairbanks combined his appealing screen persona with the new adventurous costume element. It was a smash success, and parlayed the actor into the rank of superstar. For the remainder of his career in silent films he continued to produce and star in ever more elaborate, impressive costume films, such as The Three Musketeers (1921), Douglas Fairbanks in Robin Hood (1922), The Thief of Bagdad (1924), The Black Pirate (1926), and The Gaucho (1927). Fairbanks spared no expense and effort in these films, which established the standard for all future swashbuckling films.
In 1921, he, Pickford, Chaplin, and others, helped to organize the Motion Picture Fund to assist those in the industry who could not work, or were unable to meet their bills.
During the first ceremony of its type, on April 30, 1927, Fairbanks and Pickford placed their hand and foot prints in wet cement at the newly opened Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. (In the classic comedy Blazing Saddles, Harvey Korman's villain character sees Fairbanks' prints at Grauman's and exclaims, "How did he do such fantastic stunts...with such little feet?")
Fairbanks was elected first President of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences that same year, and he presented the first Academy Awards at the Roosevelt Hotel. Today, Fairbanks also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7020 Hollywood Boulevard.
While Fairbanks had flourished in the silent genre, the restrictions of early sound films dulled his enthusiasm for film-making. His athletic abilities and general health also began to decline at this time, in part due to his years of chain-smoking. On March 29, 1928, at Pickford's bungalow, United Artists brought together Pickford, Fairbanks, Charlie Chaplin, Norma Talmadge, Gloria Swanson, John Barrymore, D.W. Griffith and Dolores del Río to speak on the radio show The Dodge Brothers Hour to prove Fairbanks could meet the challenge of talking movies.
Fairbanks' last silent film was the lavish The Iron Mask (1929), a sequel to the 1921 release The Three Musketeers. The Iron Mask included an introductory prologue spoken by Fairbanks. He and Pickford chose to make their first talkie as a joint venture, playing Petruchio and Kate in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew (1929). This film, and his subsequent sound films, were poorly received by Depression-era audiences. The last film in which he acted was the British production The Private Life of Don Juan (1934), after which he retired from acting.[citation needed]
Fairbanks and Pickford separated in 1933, after he began an affair with Sylvia, Lady Ashley. Pickford had also been seen in the company of a high-profile industrialist. They divorced in 1936, with Pickford keeping the Pickfair estate.[13] Fairbanks and Ashley were married in Paris in March 1936.
He continued to be marginally involved in the film industry and United Artists, but his later years lacked the intense focus of his film years. His health continued to decline. During his final years he lived at 705 Ocean Front (now Pacific Coast Highway) in Santa Monica, California, although much of his time was spent traveling abroad with his third wife, Lady Ashley.
On December 12, 1939, Fairbanks suffered a heart attack. He died later that day at his home in Santa Monica at the age of 56. His last words were reportedly, "I've never felt better." His funeral service was held at the Wee Kirk o' the Heather Church in Glendale's Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery where he was placed in a crypt in the Great Mausoleum.
Two years following his death, he was removed from Forest Lawn by his widow, Sylvia, who commissioned an elaborate marble monument for him featuring a long rectangular reflecting pool, raised tomb, and classic Greek architecture in Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The monument was dedicated in a ceremony held in October 1941, with Fairbanks's close friend Charlie Chaplin reading a remembrance. The remains of his son, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., were also interred there upon his death in May 2000.
In 1992 Douglas Fairbanks was portrayed by actor Kevin Kline in the film Chaplin.
In 1998, a group of Fairbanks fans started the Douglas Fairbanks Museum in Austin, Texas. The museum building was temporarily closed for mold remediation and repairs in February 2010.
In 2002, AMPAS opened the "Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study" located at 333 S. La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills. The building houses the Margaret Herrick Library.
On November 6, 2008, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences celebrated the publication of their "Academy Imprints" book Douglas Fairbanks, authored by film historian Jeffrey Vance, with the screening of a new restoration print of The Gaucho with Vance introducing the film.
The following year, opening on January 24, 2009, AMPAS mounted a major Douglas Fairbanks exhibition at its Fourth Floor Gallery, titled "Douglas Fairbanks: The First King of Hollywood". The exhibit featured costumes, props, pictures, and documents from his career and personal life. In addition to the exhibit, AMPAS screened The Thief of Bagdad and The Iron Mask in March 2009. Concurrently with the Academy's efforts, the Museum of Modern of Art held their first Fairbanks film retrospective in over six decades, titled "Laugh and Live: The Films of Douglas Fairbanks" which ran from December 17, 2008, to January 12, 2009. Jeffrey Vance opened the retrospective with a lecture and screening of the restoration print of The Gaucho.
Recently, due to his involvement with the USC Fencing Club, a bronze statue of Fairbanks was erected in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Courtyard of the new School of Cinematic Arts building on the University of Southern California campus. Fairbanks was a key figure in the film school's founding in 1929, and in its curriculum development.[24][citation needed]
The 2011 film The Artist was loosely based on Fairbanks, with the film's lead portraying Zorro in a silent movie featuring a scene from the Fairbanks version.[citation needed] While thanking the audience in 2012 for a Golden Globe award as Best Actor for his performance in the film, actor Jean Dujardin added, "As Douglas Fairbanks would say," then moved his lips silently as a comedic homage. When Dujardin accepted the 2011 Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Fairbanks was cited at length as the main inspiration for Dujardin's performance in The Artist.
An important accolade given to the Douglas Fairbanks legacy was a special screening of his masterpiece, The Thief of Bagdad, at the 2012 edition of the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival. On April 15, 2012, the festival concluded with a sold-out screening of the Fairbanks film held at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. The evening was introduced by TCM host Ben Mankiewicz and Fairbanks biographer Jeffrey Vance.
The nickname for the sports teams of the University of California-Santa Barbara is The Gauchos in honor of Fairbanks' acting in the eponymous film.

( alisha boe, cisfemale, she/her, MUSE E ) — oh my god, i totally just saw FRANCESCA ARCHER walking through greenwich village! you know, she plays SKYLAR ELLIS on that new netflix show, the village? i can’t believe they’re already famous at TWENTY-ONE. i’ve watched all of their interviews, and they totally come off as IMPERTINENT and RECKLESS, but they can also be ROMANTIC and WITTY. based on their social media, i’d describe FRANKIE like ( worn out black high-tops, mischievous smiles, nails painted different colors, peach vodka, swimming in an ocean during a storm ) — totally makes sense that people call them THE SPITFIRE.
important links: bio. statistics. filmography. muse posts. social media.
warning: death tw on the 5th bullet point!!
the frankie archer story begins in 1996, when her mother yasmiin moves from her home of somalia to brooklyn to pursue an art career. she moved into a tiny apartment halfway across the world, knowing nothing and no one, looking for inspiration. she found it in the form of lorenzo archer, her next door neighbor. they dated for two years, but neither family approved of the other as a match: yasmiin’s family wanted her to return to somalia, and lorenzo’s roman catholic family were not pleased about their son selecting a non-catholic woman. but lorenzo and yasmiin didn’t care, and got married at new york city hall with the court appointed witness. two weeks later, yasmiin was pregnant with frankie.
francesca simone archer was born on june 9, 1999. she is a gemini sun, a scorpio moon, and an aries rising. she was named francesca for her grandmother on the paternal side, and simone after nina simone, the singer that was playing on lorenzo’s record player when they first met. her two siblings, nala archer and zahi archer, were born in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
her childhood is generally quite happy. lorenzo and yasmiin were born to be parents and they love frankie, nala, and zahi endlessly, the type of supportive love that makes children thrive. frankie possesses a natural wit and excels academically, nala is the star athlete, and zahi is a wizard with watercolor. frankie loves the movies and decides she wants to be an actress when she grows up, so lorenzo and yasmiin enroll her in acting classes and improv camps. things chug along in the archer family beautifully.
that is, until frankie gets a high school scholarship to packer collegiate institute, located in the affluent neighborhood of brooklyn heights. she takes it, of course, with her parents’ full support. but she is nothing like anyone else who attends packer, and for a 14 year old who wants to blend in, that is the worst possible thing. she is suddenly, painfully aware of her worn-out clothes, her used books, her strange mother with paint stains on her bleached out jeans. frankie lashes out, screaming and storming off and slamming doors. she and her mother are hurricanes and the rest of the family simply battens down the hatches. one day when frankie is 15, she tells her mother that this family is her worst nightmare. it is the last words she will ever speak to her mother.
a few hours after, the archers get a call that yasmiin has been in an accident. it was a hit and run: a drunk driver t-boned her, and they’re rushing her to the hospital. when the family arrives, the doctors break the news that yasmiin is comatose and that things aren’t looking good. lorenzo refuses to take her off life support, insisting she’ll recover. she is in a coma for nearly a year and a half before he is convinced to pull the plug.
and now, the part of the frankie archer story that everyone knows, the serendipitous hollywood beginning. she’s just a charming, talented, grieving, all-american girl from brooklyn, heading off to juilliard in the fall. on her 18th birthday, the first one spent without her mother, she attends an open call for a role in an indie film called thursday mourning. she thinks it’ll be a fun way to spend the day, or at least distracting enough. and then she gets the fucking part.
long story short, the film blows up. it’s shown at venice, winning the golden lion and a prize for frankie as the most promising young actor in the festival. it’s nominated for four oscars, including a best supporting actress nom for frankie. she doesn’t win, but it’s created a path for her to do whatever she wants, acting-wise. she does three more films in the next two years, gaining a reputation as an indie darling before realizing that indie films don’t make all that much money.
and she needs money, because her father is drowning in hospital bills from yasmiin’s death that he can’t pay. that’s when the offer comes through from her agent: a starring role in an ensemble cast netflix show called the village. she’s planning on throwing the script away. she’s not interested in any television show, much less a teen drama. she’s a serious actress and she certainly doesn’t want to be the next veronica lodge, made fun of on the internet by strangers with discerning taste. but with a little coaxing from her agent, she reads the script, and the role is good, the writing strong. so she takes the village, even though she wants to do movies more, even though she might get memed into oblivion. one episode will halve her father’s debt.
frankie was tapped for the village because while she’s definitely not as famous as some of her other castmates, nor does she have the hollywood background, she has consistently received acclaim for her performances. the producers think it will bring them some clout with the critics, and she has a sterling reputation as a hard worker on set.
so that’s the basic bio of frankie! now onto her personality >:-)
first of all, and most importantly, if you call her francesca you are DEAD.
frankie’s described by the media as a spitfire, and she definitely lives up to that description. she’s not particularly patient with interviews or paparazzi, she has a nasty mouth and an acerbic sense of humor, and to the general public she probably comes across as quite guarded and private about her life. she got into this business to be an actress, not a celebrity.
nevertheless, if she wanted to be a celebrity, she could probably be a pretty beloved one. frankie has a very charismatic, charming way about her, that probably lets her get away with more in the public eye than she should. there’s just something about that hollywood story that makes people relate to her and root for her.
the number one defining characteristic of frankie is her passion. she throws herself intensely into everything she does, feels emotions too vividly, fights for what she wants. she cares so much about everything. acting is her main passion, her forever love. it’s why she’s so good at what she does: she’s not the most talented, she doesn’t have the most training, but she feels so intensely. it also makes her very emotional (classic cancer!) if you’re close with her
also because of this passion, she’s probably the most competitive person you’ll ever meet in your entire life. she’s like, slightly insane about it? she wants to win everything, but she hates losing even more than she likes winning. she’s the type to throw a tiny tantrum if she loses a game of uno.
frankie’s always been bold, likes to live life on the edge, but it became something much uglier after her mother’s death. she’s reckless to the nth degree: doing her own stunts, drinking and partying the night away. she’s not suicidal, but in some ways, it’s like she doesn’t have a huge regard for her own life.
in her private life, frankie is pretty different. it’s not so much that her negative qualities disappear -- she still swears like a sailor and is less than patient. but rather, the flaws become less apparent when you get to know her. she’s sort of a goofy little marshmallow wearing a giant suit of spiky armor.
one of the most loyal people you will ever meet, because she throws herself headlong into friendships and relationships. she’s sort of an all or nothing type gal, so if you befriend frankie expect it to be a very close relationship whether you like it or not.
she is kind of the crazy friend? she’s baby? like she’s absolutely the person who’s encouraging everyone else to do dumb shit, and she’s always coming up with ridiculous ideas and pranks. side note give frankie a prank buddy on set!
she’s really quite witty. she absolutely loves twitter, which is basically the only glimpse the general public would get as to who frankie is in private. her twitter filled with her dumb jokes and random thoughts. in another life, she might have been a twitter comic.
she is a hopeless romantic, which she will never admit to anyone in the world unless it’s layered under 100 miles of sarcasm. the only relationship she’s really ever known is her parents’ relationship, and they were madly in love til the bitter end. she desperately wants something like that, but hasn’t quite found it. she’s been in exactly one pr relationship, but nothing particularly real or long-lasting.
she loves fashion. her mother taught her to sew and she sketches and makes some of her own clothes. her absolute dream is to collab with a designer on a fashion line: some of her favorite labels are marc jacobs, jean paul-gaultier, sies marjan, and moschino! she’s also had a lot of positive press for her red carpet looks.
she has a dog, who she loves more than anything! his name is duke, he’s a staffie rescue, and she brings him on set frequently. she’s lobbying to get him cast as someone’s dog.
she’s playing skylar ellis on the village, and because this is literally so long you can find some info about skylar at these links: statistics, muse posts, social media. i haven’t finished writing her entire bio yet but here’s the rundown: skylar appears to everyone like the pretty princess who has everything she could ever want. her parents are rich, she’s beautiful and smart, and she has a perfect relationship with phillip. but on the inside, she’s drowning. her dad wants her to take over the family company but she wants to be a writer, and the worst part is that she’s good at writing and horrible at business! she’s always been content to go with the flow (aka, what her parents want) because things are good in her life, but after her encounter with james over the summer, she’s realizing that she is completely trapped in a life she doesn’t want in the least. now she’s a conflicted mess of emotion trying to figure out what to do.

﹤ park jiwon, she/her, cisfemale ﹥; * - hello eliana ‘lia’ wu. long time no see. i know a lot about you. like how you’re twenty, how you’re a european studies major, and in fact.. how you’re the face of your parents church but are hiding the fact that you’re anything but innocent---and that you got kicked out of your catholic university for having an affair with your professor. would be a shame if it got out, wouldn’t it ? so let’s play a game. * TRUTH OR DARE ?
(    𝑩𝑨𝑪𝑲𝑮𝑹𝑶𝑼𝑵𝑫.   )
born on october 12th in blacksburg, virginia, eliana’s first impression of the world was a crisp autumn day
she was her parents first and only child and soon became their pride and joy. her parents both came from wealthy families and dedicated their lives to the catholic church they owned
so, eliana grew up around the church and was raised catholic. her parents made her the face of their church. she was the perfect choice, dripping with innocence and purity
eliana learned at a fairly young age the corruption that ensued behind the scenes, behind her parents backs. growing up, she often spent her afternoons at the church. while her parents were off trying to grow their following, eliana was left alone at the church to observe bribery, adultery, and so much more
she was a ghost of a girl; most of the time, people had no idea she was there. they made it easy for her to learn all their secrets
eliana was sent to catholic boarding school for all her years of schooling. at boarding school, she worked her way up the chain of command through bribery, manipulation and blackmail.
she would leave for the majority of the year for school and return during the holidays and for summer break. she would take annual summer trips to europe visiting extended family, staying mainly in italy and france. eliana grew to love europe, she wished she could live there forever
with both catholic school and the church being corrupt, eliana had little faith in the religion and most of the people who followed it. she felt like they were either hypocrites hiding behind a facade, or naively unaware cowards that needed something to believe in. she fell into the first category, while her parents fell into the second. eliana felt sorry for her parents and continued to act like the perfect little church girl for their sake (and for their money, of course)
eliana grew to be quite a selfish person, at least almost everything she did was in her own self interest. if she had nothing to gain, she didn’t see a point in entertaining things. while eliana masqueraded herself as being a charitable, altruistic person, she was quite the opposite
during her high school years at catholic school, eliana began using coke. with pressure from her parents to excel in her classes, extracurricular’s, and volunteer work, she needed something to take the edge off. it started as something she did now and then, though eventually she began to grew addicted (yes, she has the coke cross like kathryn from cruel intentions)
also while away at catholic school, eliana began to experiment with other things. she discovered she had a sexual and romantic interest in girls and guys and started to explore it. although her parents demanded she remain a virgin until marriage, eliana didn’t quite follow those rules, though she kept up the image. her sexual partners and romantic relations were kept on the low for the most part in order to maintain her perfect image
she discovered that sex was just another thing she could use to manipulate others and for her own self interest. after high school, eliana went on to attend a catholic university. during her first semester, she began to have an affair with one of her professors
usually the one in control, eliana found herself recklessly falling for her professor. for him, it was just lust, but for her it felt like more. one day, her private affair became public among some and eliana was kicked out of the university to avoid a scandal
this was bad news for eliana, who had to come up with a way to hide her expulsion from her parents and continue an education elsewhere. the following semester, eliana continued to pretend to attend the catholic university but later decided to tell her parents about transferring to UVA
she came up with a lie about the school having a better program for her major and promised to continue her biblical studies outside of class. reluctantly, her parents allowed it. they trusted her. she was their perfect daughter, after all
so, eliana continued her education at UVA after blackmailing her old school for a dazzling letter of recommendation
eliana is studying european studies, with the desire of eventually moving to france. she is enamored with the art, history, literature, cinema, and the food. honestly, eliana does not want to do anything for a living and is hoping to live off her trust fund and the money she would eventually inherit from her parents, but she loves learning and going to school and bettering her education
(    𝑷𝑬𝑹𝑺𝑶𝑵𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑻𝒀.   )
eliana is a libra sun scorpio moon (the rest of her placements are tbd)
if u click the link, u can read more about what that means but even the label attached to that combination itself is super fitting for her --- the ‘masquerader’
eliana is not a mean person by any means, but a lot of what she does is in her own self interest. she considers a lot of her friendships to be mutually beneficial arrangements
however, once you become her real friend, though she likely doesn’t have many, she will remain extremely loyal and do anything for you
once her mind is set on something, she must see it through. this aspect about her can come across as being obsessive in a way (it’s her scorpio moon ok)
when it comes to relationships, eliana tends to see them kind of like business arrangements. love is kind of the last thing in her mind, but it’s definitely possible for her to get swept up into romance, as much as she hates to think so
so, eliana prefers hook ups. however, she still tries to maintain her pure image with people she does not know very well until she gets a read on them. she keeps all her relations on the low and even comes up with mini terms of agreement before getting involved with anyone. she reallyyyyy hates other people knowing her business
eliana is superficially nice on the surface. when i say superficial, it’s not to say that she isn’t friendly but it is superficial at first until she knows who she is dealing with. regardless, she is a friendly person because it does not really benefit her to be any other way. however, if you mess with her, she will find a tactical way to get you back and ten times harder
she drinks and does drugs in moderation because she likes to be in control of herself (minus her coke addiction bc u know). also does it on the down low because again, she’s maintaining an image here
her whole life is pretty much fake, so she often loses sight of herself. she doesn’t know exactly who she is but she is very good at pretending, and she even convinces herself sometimes
she’s pretty lonely tbh though she’ll never admit it. it’s been this way since she was little
her favorite books are anything by jane austen and les liaisons dangereuses by pierre choderlos de laclos, aka the book cruel intentions was based on. she also really enjoys sylvia plath, mary shelley, and virginia woolf
favorite shows: big little lies, sharp objects, killing eve, twin peaks, handmaid’s tale
favorite movies: pride and prejudice, marie antoinette, thoroughbreds, cruel intentions, annihilation, ex machina, stoker, the handmaiden, black swan, atonement, mulholland drive
her fav colors are mint, pastel pink, white and beige
pls look at the pinterest board i made for her <3
(    𝑾𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑺.   )
ex-fling/gf/bf - eliana could have a few of these. they could be on good or bad terms. if they’re on bad terms eliana would prob be keeping a close eye on them because she doesn’t want word really getting out. maybe the sexual tension is still there. we could plot out the details and make if fun and interesting hehe
unrequited crush -  ur character could have feelings for eliana, but maybe she doesn’t feel them. this could develop into her eventually having feelings for ur muse or not, whatever we want ! OR eliana could have a crush on someone who does not like her back. maybe that person is super non-committal, or they simply do not like her back. we could plot this out however but it would b interesting for eliana to actually have feelings for someone
current fling/friends w benefits - someone she is currently seeing/sleeping with. could be no strings attached, or there could b some feelings there. maybe they don’t want to make it anything serious, maybe one person is ready to go further, and the other isn’t.
enemies w benefits - imagine the tension!!! they started out hating each other, but ended up hooking up. maybe it was a one time thing, or maybe they can’t stop going back to each other. i think it would definitely have to be something kept super secret, she doesn’t want anyone else to know. this could develop in soooo many ways !
ex-friends - someone she used to consider a close friend, but they had a falling out for whatever reason n maybe they hate each other now. maybe they want to re-kindle their friendship but don’t know how. this could b juicy if they know a little too much about her
sibling-like friendship - someone she sees like a sibling. they’re there for each other and look out for one another, always have each other’s backs. being an only child and not really close to her parents, i would love for eliana to have a friend that’s like family !
dynamic duo - basically like her current best friend. this person is prob one of the closest people to her and might know her very well ! they could b a power duo, always looking out for each other
take care - ok i would love it if for one night, eliana lost control. she either got too drunk or high and was kind of a wreck. someone was there and kind of came to her rescue in a way, they got her home or maybe she slept at their place. after this night, maybe eliana would feel awkward (but also grateful) that someone actually took care of her and looked out for her. maybe your muse did it to have something over her, or maybe it was actually genuine to help her. this could be plotted out in sooo many ways yes i love it
confidant - someone who confides in her or someone she confides in, or they confide in each other. they don’t necessarily have to be the closest friends ever, but they get along, trust each other, and maybe they talk more in private
rivals - they hate each other for whatever reason. maybe it’s jealousy or their personalities just clash, but for whatever reason they do not get along. i love a good enemies plot. they can just b nasty to each other !!! maybe they bring out a really bad side to eliana that most ppl dont see (because she’s usually very lowkey even when she’s angry or dislikes someone)
victim of manipulation - eliana can be very manipulative. whether through bribery, blackmail, or whatever the case, i would love to have a plot where your muse is someone she could manipulate. maybe she bribes them to do her dirty work, or has something over them. she wouldn’t make them do anything too crazy, but this person would just be someone she has a hold over
partner in crime - okay pls give me someone eliana schemes with. like imagine the powerrrr they would have. they would just plot n scheme together to help each other out or for some personal gain
dealer - idk if any of the muses r drug dealers, but if yes, someone who deals coke to her. they might know firsthand about her addiction. we could plot this however!
these are all the plot ideas i can think of for now, but i’ll prob make a plots page later on and add more stuff !
aaaaaand this is everything !! it has taken me longer to write this than i care to admit...pls don’t ask. i would absolutely looooove to plot so please hit me up on discord stream norman fucking rockwell#5522 (or i can hit u up). i cannotttt wait to start interacting and stuff <3

Help. This mama needs advice.
I have a 13 year old daughter. I had her when I was 19 with a man I am no longer with. I have since moved on into a loving relationship and we have 2 sons. Her dad moved on and married and has 3 other daughters. We co-parent without the court. Everything we have decided, we decided civilly. I have her one week, he has her another. Everything sounds great, right?
Well our daughter has been struggling with keeping up with homework. It's not that she is failing, but her grades could definitely be better. She has also been changing her look this last year. She decided to cut 10 inches off her hair and now dresses kinda emo-ish. She also has taking a liking to boys clothes more than girls.
Her stepmother has voiced concerns that we need to move her from her current public school to a private Catholic school. She feels that this new school will help her succeed. She feels this school has better ways to make sure her work is getting done and her grades go up. I however think it has to do with our daughter voicing to her friends that she think she might be gay. (Her stepmother went through her phone and found text messages).
As her mother, I am putting my foot down. Changing schools would make her feel more out of place than she already does. I feel like she is really struggling with this and needs our support and understanding, not a punishment. Her stepmother, however, thinks I'm a shit parent who is "never home" (I work 50 hours a week) and let's my kids "do whatever they want" and is basically blaming my parenting for my daughter struggling. She has since stated that she will "do whatever it takes" to make sure my daughter is successful.
I just don't know what to do or how to handle this. My anxiety is running high. I can't eat. My mind is running rampant and I am now starting to believe I really am a bad parent. My kids have rules. They have a schedule. My boys do great in school. In fact my youngest is in the top of his class and is on a reading and math level 2 grades higher than his peers. But all the crap she said to me is really making me rethink everything I do. Help? Does anyone have advice?

First fanfic: Charlotte Russo: The Lost Angel of Empire Bay (Vito Scaletta x OC)  Introduction
Hey everyone, thanks so much for the support I’ve received with my transition to this blog. It’s time that I post my first fanfic to this blog. This story will follow a character from a fandom that’s not very well known, but deserves to be recognized, nonetheless. Vito Scaletta from Mafia 2 & 3. I played Mafia 3 first and absolutely fell in love with Vito, so I decided to play Mafia 2 as well. I can’t tell you which one I like better, I love them both equally. I highly recommend everyone who loves open world GTA-type games to play this game. It’s funny, action packed, emotional at times, and filled with plenty of colorful characters. Players be warned, however, that the game is rated M and deals with mature themes such as drug use, sex, cursing, violence, basically anything you’d expect from a GTA/Godfather mashup. Keep in mind that the fanfic will also be of a similar rating, though I will provide a trigger warning at the beginning of each chapter, as well as a word count and a general rating of each story. Alright, enough chit-chat. I’d like to introduce you to the OC of the evening: Charlotte Russo.
Charlotte Russo: Mafia 2
Tumblr media
Charlotte Russo: The Blissful Angel
Tumblr media
Charlotte Russo: Mafia 3
Tumblr media
Basic Stats:
Name: Charlotte Russo, “Big Tits” Charlie Alfonsi
Age: 19 (beginning), 42 (near the end)
Sex/Gender/Pronouns: Female, Woman, she/her
Race/Ethnicity: Italian
Fandom: Mafia
Background: Charlotte’s family emigrated from Sicily to Empire Bay in 1927 when her mother was pregnant with her.  Marco began working for Frank Vinci and built up a reasonable living. He planned to will his eldest daughter, Alessandra, the business, but she married and moved away as soon as she could. Charlotte became her father’s golden child, the one who would carry on the legacy and see the business out. When Charlotte was eighteen, her father was involved in a risky hit and was killed in the process. Don Frank Vinci severed ties with the family, but provided a certain amount of protection for them to survive off of until they got back on their feet. In the meantime, Charlotte scrambled to get a steady job and keep food on the table, electricity on in their tiny apartment, and a roof over their heads.
Appearance:
Figure/Eyes/Skin/Hair/Other: Charlotte has a thick, pair shaped figure with an average bust and full hips. She has tawny eyes, olive skin, and charcoal black hair with bangs across her forehead, full lips, a freckle on her cheek, and a scar cutting down the bridge of her nose.
Dress style: She typically dresses comfortably, but appropriate for her job. What that job is often varies from a dancer in a cathouse (lingerie) to running hits on the streets for her boss (jeans and a blouse).
Relationships:
Parents: Marco and Gianna Russo. Charlotte was always a daddy’s girl. She picked up much from her father including her strength, fighting skills, and her taste for fancy cigars. The death of her father tore Charlotte up, it was hard for her to think of much else for a while afterwards, but she was forced to keep moving to keep money coming in. Her mother isn’t exactly the same story. Charlotte picked up cooking and cleaning skills, many things that would make a good housewife, but she was never drawn to that path. She preferred the life of crime and action, like her father. Gianna didn’t take her husband’s death well. She started drinking to wash away the pain, but she wasn’t a happy drunk. When she was drunk, everything came out. Secrets, insults, truths that no one wants to hear, and a side of Gianni that she would be ashamed of sober. Charlotte’s relationship with Gianni was never great, they always fought over Charlotte’s future and wellbeing, which would drive a wedge between the two in their final years of communication.
Siblings: Alessandra Russo-Lombardi was ten years old when Charlotte was born. At the ripe, young age of 21, Alessandra married her high school sweetheart and moved far away from Empire Bay. She still maintains a good relationship with Charlotte, calling every couple of months to check in, but is mostly estranged from the rest of her family.
Love interest(s): Vito Scaletta, the mysterious man who saved her life and took her under his wing to show the ways of casual crime.
Friends: Margaret Young, a close friend and neighbor since Charlotte could remember. Their mothers were both stay at home moms, and her father owned a small bakery below Charlotte’s apartment. The two worked together between cathouses and department stores, and their bond often felt more like sisters than friends. Joe Barbaro was a friend of Vito who helped introduce Charlotte into the crime world. Matteo Ricci was a young man who Charlotte saves at some point in the story, and for her charity, Matteo sets out to repay her by giving back to the world in some way. Ronnie Espinoza, the only friend Charlotte has to depend on when she is at her lowest. More on him in the fic.
Enemies: Sidney “The Fat Man” Penn was an ex-boss of Charlotte, Lorenzo Alfonsi was Charlotte’s ex-husband from a loveless marriage, and Sal Marcano attempted to work with Charlotte under impossible terms and set out to have her killed when she didn’t agree to them. More on all of them in the story.
Sexuality and Romance:
Sexuality: Pansexual
Attraction: Charlotte was a butt person. She loved a nice, plump ass on men and women that she could pinch or smack during intercourse.
Experience: Charlotte experimented a little before finding Vito. She had a steady boyfriend for about a year before she found out he cheated on her, and a girlfriend who moved away and never contacted her again.
Skills and Work Life:
Skills: Charlotte learned how to take care of a house and a child from her mother, skills she retained her whole life. She learned how to defend herself and handle a knife from her father, and she learned how to drive and shoot a gun from Vito. Charlotte always had a knack for performance. She loved to sing, dance, and act both in public and private.
Hobbies: In her downtime, Charlotte loved to read, and secretly enjoyed to sew. She always wanted to be a seamstress as a child, a dream she secretly retained through her adult life.
Education: Charlotte had a middle school education, but was forced to drop out when her family couldn’t afford it anymore. She knows how to speak English and Italian.
Job: Dancer in a cathouse, made woman under Alberto Clemente, seamstress.
Personal:
Theme Songs: Troublemaker by Olly Murs, Bottom of the River by Delta Rae
Personality: Charlotte was a family girl, always taking steps to protect her team over herself. She liked to develop a first name basis with everyone she worked with to show a form of mutual respect. She was a tough cookie, but she managed to keep her emotions in check pretty well. It took a lot to break her, but when you do, be prepared. Her anger was scary, and her sadness usually results
Likes: Cars, clothes, jewelry, classic literature, jazz music, dancing
Dislikes: Not getting her way, cucumbers, liars, cheaters,
Philosophy:
Colors: Blue, purple, red, black
Beliefs/Spirituality: She grew up Catholic and retains general Christian beliefs, but she’s not a very good Christian.
Fears: Death, dogs, wasps, knives, betrayal
Goals: To get out of Empire Bay, to survive in the mafia world, to become rich enough and settle down with Vito, other goals revealed in the fic.
Other
The titles of the chapters are lyrics from songs I associate with major scenes throughout the chapter. I’ll release the soundtrack after I finish the story as there will be some major spoilers within the soundtrack.
Each chapter will be pretty long, around 6000 words each.
I used this avatar creator to design them Charlotte’s avatars: http://www.azaleasdolls.com/dressupgames/1940s-fashion.php
As Charlotte was present for many events from Mafia 2, the story is written as a documentary, titled “Charlotte Russo: The Lost Angel of Empire Bay.” I did this so I wouldn’t have to recap events from the game that just had Charlotte shoehorned in. Thus the story is split into different narrative styles. The narrative of the story will follow a similar structure as Mafia 3, told through flashbacks and interviews like a documentary. The formatting for each POV will look different, so I'll provide a key here to explain it.
Documentary narration
"Interviews" —Person's Name
Time period
Charlotte’s narration
The investigator of the documentary is going to be Jonathan Maguire from Mafia 3. I know he was only investigating the Lincoln Clay files, but I’m gonna level with you guys, I’m too lazy to make my own. :P

background ;;
violet faith lennox is diane galindo’s & richard lennox’s youngest child. born three weeks early on 25 may 1996 at aspen valley hospital in aspen, colorado. the very moment they held their daughter ( who they lovingly referred to as a ‘ blessing ‘ ) in their open arms, they knew that their family was finally complete.
her mother ( diane ) is her parents’ pride & joy. as the eldest daughter of wealthy wall street executives, she has done nothing but make her family proud her entire life. growing up, her dream in life was to help her father’s business but her career quickly changed course when she decided to pursue a career in medicine. the new york native eventually ended up going to harvard medical school in boston, massachusetts where she would end up meeting her future husband. to this day, dr. galindo is one of the most recognizable names in medicine & is world renowned for her work as a reproductive endocrinologist ( fertility specialist ).
her father on the other hand ( richard ) was born to an influential family in los angeles, california. from an early age, he was exposed to the spotlight due to the fact that his own father was governor of california & hoped to become president one day. however, things seemed to go off course the day the former governor was caught in his own cheating scandal all while being married to a former pageant queen. scandal erupted when the politician not only cheated on his stunning wife with a young secretary but when his mistress announced to the world that she was pregnant. the entire news circuit covered this affair for months & the governor resigned from his position when news broke that he urged his mistress to get an abortion.
following the scandal, the family fell out of the public spotlight. they spent years trying to repaint their public image after it was tarnished for nothing but selfish desire. approximately ten years later, the family made news again but this time about their newly found faith in god joining the long list of religious right wing politicians. richard’s father felt as if the only way to redeem himself was to devote himself to god. after years of distancing themselves from the catholic church, the family dove right back in which became the start of their fundamental catholic values that ruled every aspect of their lives.
as the only son in the family, richard’s parents had high expectations for him. however, he seemed to have different plans for himself that didn’t involve making his family proud or practicing what they preached. as an undergraduate student at yale, his interests were far & few between. his days only seemed to consist of sleeping with random women & binge drinking to his heart’s content. he knew that he didn’t have to be an astounding student because he had a giant trust fund waiting for him at home. but after a drunk driving accident that resulted in a 40 year old woman’s hospitalization & his own arrest, richard knew he had to clean up his act.
he eventually followed his family’s lead & became an ultra religious catholic. he even managed to boost up his grades & get an academic scholarship to harvard law school where he met diane.
diane didn’t come from a strong religious background. in fact, she liked to tell people that she only believed in science & didn’t have faith or trust in a superior figure. but when she met a young richard lennox, her entire world was turned upside down. she let him into her life, converted to catholicism, & the two got married after three years of dating.
flash forward to 1992. the married couple is moving to aspen, colorado for diane’s new job at an upscale hospital. they even received a generous check from richard’s parents to buy a mansion in the mountains !!
life for the couple in colorado was serene. they eventually welcome their first child into the world ( a daughter ) & a few months later, their families moved to help them raise their children. both diane & richard always wanted a big family due to their catholic faith. they both agreed they would stop after 6 kids, however, their minds were quickly changed when she became pregnant with violet.
her pregnancy was extremely difficult to say the least. between being on bed rest for months & frequent hospitalizations, she didn’t know if she could do this again. on top of her own health issues, she also had problems with her unborn child. there was even a night where they thought they would lose violet after diane experienced unexplainable bleeding & her fellow colleagues at the hospital couldn’t detect a heartbeat.
luckily, they were able to find a heartbeat after 6 minutes of deafening silence & hushed prayers for a miracle. after that night, they knew that their daughter was a blessing which is why they agreed to give her the middle name faith which symbolizes their unrequited devotion to god.
eventually, violet was born !! she was born three weeks early & spent a week in the icu but overall she was healthy. she was a bit underweight but she was miraculously healthy. but after everything the family had been through, they decided that violet would be their last child.
as a child, violet did every thing her parents had asked of her. their faith played a large role in her upbringing which is why she spent every sunday inside of church.
by the time she was 8 years old, her family decided to move to new york city due to the fact that her mom received a prestigious job on the upper east side. at the age of 8, violet was already a competitive gymnast who’s likes included spending time with her family, competing, & going to school. even then she knew she could do everything she loved in another state which is why she didn’t put up much of a fight when she was told that they would be moving across the country.
moving from snowy open colorado to the upper east side of manhattan was definitely a culture shock for violet even at an early age. nonetheless, she eventually got used to new york city life & to this day she doesn’t think she would survive a week in colorado.
even after she moved to a new part of the country, violet remained devoted to gymnastics & her family. she had dreams of one day going to the olympics for gymnastics & everyone who knew her saw her potential. she even competed in world events & became a household name !! although, her parents often emphasized that school & religion come first which is why they made her & her sister attend a private catholic school all the way through high school.
in high school, she was a classic goody two shoes church girl. she was a strong student who received perfect grades in order to please her parents. for the longest time, she didn’t have time for anything other than school & sports but that changed by the time she was 16.
despite attending an all girls school, violet met her first boyfriend through one of her mutual friends. & like all stereotypical teen romances, it was love at first site. she was so infatuated with him that she was willing to put everything in her life on the back burner in order to focus on him.
& by the time she was 18, she received numerous academic & sports scholarships to prestigious colleges. however, violet decided to take a gap year in order to spend more time with her boyfriend of two years. she knew that she would eventually go to college but she wanted to make some time for herself first. her parents weren’t exactly happy about her decision due to the fact that she has big shoes to fill but they eventually came around the idea & were even happy for their daughter & her wholesome catholic boyfriend.
during her gap year, they spent an entire year traveling the world. they went to bali, greece, peru, brazil, iceland, dubai, thailand, argentina, & morocco. throughout the course of the year, violet documented her travel on her instagram & other social media platforms which is when she started gaining a lot of followers who wanted to watch her travel the world with the love of her life. before her influx of instagram followers, not a lot of people outside the world of gymnastics knew who she was. people of course knew who her parents were ( a famous doctor & lawyer ) but the world did not really know who exactly violet lennox was.
by the end of her gap year violet already had over 1 million followers on instagram !! & she was already getting paid doing what she loves which is travel the world. & since all of this happened during her year off, violet ended up telling her parents that she didn’t want to go to college which damaged their relationship as a result.
since her parents were so unsupportive of her decision to not go to college & ultimately quit gymnastics, violet ended up moving out of her house & moved in with her boyfriend at only the age of 19. & because her parents were completely unsupportive of her decision not to attend college, they cut her off financially & she was forced to make a living for herself. by this point, her career as a social media influencer was booming so she was already making a lot of money just through promoting detox teas, teeth whitening kits, etc.
it may seem as if life for violet was perfect by this point despite her falling out with her parents. however, that was not the case. even though she fooled the entire world by thinking that she had a perfect relationship, her boyfriend was incredibly abusive towards her & had been ever since the two started dating. although he was never physically abusive, he was mentally, emotionally, & verbally abusive. for years violet made excuses for him & blamed herself for their problems which only made her feel more miserable than she already was. this was her first real relationship & she genuinely thought that they were destined to be together even though she was severely unhappy.
he would constantly cheat, manipulate her, make fun of her appearance & insecurities, & wouldn’t let her do anything without his permission. the two were together for three years & there even was a time where violet became pregnant but quickly had an abortion without him knowing as soon as she found out. just three months after living together, she finally found the courage to break up with him. although it wasn’t easy at first, she’s thankful that she finally got out of a dangerous relationship. she also understands the dangers of social media better than anyone else because she fooled the world into thinking that she was in a happy loving relationship when that was far from the truth.
when violet told the world about their breakup ( most likely in an instagram live or an instagram story ) she ended up losing millions of followers. the majority of her followers only followed her to watch her travel the world with her boyfriend so once they found out that they were no longer together ; they didn’t see the point in following her anymore.
for an entire year following her breakup, violet began to spiral out of control. she started using drugs, alcohol, & partying as coping mechanisms in order to help her move on & forget about everything she had endured. that of course didn’t work but that didn’t stop her from partying every single night of the week & ending up in a stranger’s bed. eventually, she even leaked her own sex tape & naked pictures to the press in hopes that the press coverage would help make up for the millions of followers she lost on instagram.
& as she expected, the world would not stop talking about her sex tape for months. she gained the most followers she has ever done & eventually she got real modeling jobs as a result of her popularity. she hasn’t exactly told the world that she was the one who leaked the 20 minute video but everyone in their immediate circle knows she did it & also knows that she has other videos lying around for ‘ emergency ‘ situations.
however, her parents cut off all contact with her following her scandal & it is still something that cuts deep two years later. she tells herself & everyone around her that she doesn’t need a family but everyone knows that’s a lie. it’s just a lie she keeps on telling herself to feel better about herself.
violet managed to clean up her act & went from being a social media influencer to an actual model. many people don’t respect her name due to her troubling past with her sex tape & being an instagram model but that doesn’t seem to stop her. she has been featured in the love advent calendar, the victoria’s secret fashion show, & many fashion weeks since then. she is also the youngest global ambassador for lancôme & ralph lauren !! as of recently, she has been doing a lot of work with victoria’s secret & has been featured in many catalogs & even became the newest face for one of their fragrances. although she has become more of an actual model rather an instagram model, she still stays loyal to her social media platforms which is why she has over 100 million followers.
she lives a happy life after being so unhappy for so long but she still seeks her parents approval even though they have no contact with her.
personality ;;
for someone who is incredibly smart, she pretends to be dumb sometimes. she doesn’t think that guys like smart girls so she dumbs herself down. but she could also be a ditz at times ( unintentionally ).
she likes to think of herself as approachable but she also knows that she can be intimidating. nonetheless, she tries to be nice to everyone who comes her way unless they say the wrong thing to her & then she switches on her mean girl switch that comes far too easy for her.
even though violet is a lot to deal with, she is a nice person !! although she does have a flair for the dramatics & denies being dramatic all the time. she also likes to think of herself as a ‘ good girl ‘ even though she is far from one. she loves sex & isn’t afraid to shy away from that but she still tells people that she’s good or an angel because it makes herself feel better about herself.
she also goes to confession 1-2 times a week to pray for her sins in order to get into heaven. she thinks with the amount of adultery she commits on a daily basis she needs to pray for her sins otherwise she won’t go to heaven & she thinks she looks way better in white than in red.
if you do her wrong, she will go out of her way to make your life a living hell. she is incredibly protective over the people in her life so she will do just about anything for them including berating people. revenge might as well be her last name !!
she may be loud and unnecessary at times but she is kind hearted and does mean well. even if she does have a bad way of showing it at times.
miscellaneous ;;
since she comes from a strict traditional upbringing, she was taught that being anything other than straight is wrong. so when violet first started experimenting with girls & even developed feelings for one, she told herself that she was going to hell. this is one of the reasons why she has not come out of the closet or has even come to terms with her sexuality. she denies all past same sex encounters & relationships which isn’t healthy. but since her parents disowned her following her sex tape, she knows that they would hate her more than they already do. if they ever found out that their daughter was anything but straight they would lose their minds & she’s still hoping that one day they could repair their relationship. apparently being bisexual is worse than having a sex tape !!
when she was a competitive gymnast for the united states national team, she was often put on strict diets in order to keep up. as a result of the strict dieting & unrealistic body images, violet developed bulimia as early as 12 years old. so when she quit gymnastics after deciding not to attend college, she was happy. she loved the sport but hated the pressure. even to this day, the sport isn’t actually sure what happened to her because she was an olympic hopeful. they all thought that she could have been the next gold medalist but she values her own mental health & sanity over a couple of medals. & even though she sought help for her eating disorder that reared ugly heads at times, she did slip up a lot while she was with her boyfriend who would make fun of her appearance. even now she isn’t 100% but she is better than she has ever been.
she also had another abortion with sebastian after a one night stand. she doesn’t like to talk about it but she does wonder what her life would look like if she did have the baby or if she could ever get pregnant again.
is extremely flirty & alluring.
violet also believes that the world revolves around her. many people may find her confidence to be annoying or superficial but she takes pride in it because it took her so long to learn how to love herself after being with her first boyfriend.
speaking of relationships, she’s terrible at them. she often runs away when things become too serious, manipulates the people she’s with, or breaks up with them for no reason. her logic is that she wants to hurt someone before they have the chance to hurt her. she still has yet to understand that the rest of the world isn’t like her ex but her past still haunts her every time she catches feelings.
she likes to tell people that monogamy isn’t the life for her which is why she prefers casual sex. she is also a proud sugar baby & has many sugar daddies !! most of them are old & married but she is a sucker for anyone who buys her nice things.
also has an instagram account for her dog !!
her most used emojis in her phone are the martini glass, the suggestive face, & the pink glitter heart.
she’s a gemini which means that she is expressive, quick-witted, sociable, and affectionate.
her favorite tv show is gossip girl.
her favorite movie is the notebook.
has a passion for photography but hasn’t explored it seriously. she understands that she makes a living off of being another pretty face but she also wants to explore other aspects of her career like photography & maybe even acting.
she often considers going to college or even going back to gymnastics a lot but she not made up her mind yet. she is happy right now as a model but she does miss aspects of her old life.
as an instagram model, she is like kendall jenner or gigi hadid. in other words, she has a large following & people book her for photo shoots & fashion shows in order to boost their own notoriety because it looks better on their part. her walk is average at best but she does have a beautiful face. people hate instagram models working in the real modeling business as it is so they despise an instagram model with a sex tape !!

— ✧ MILA KUNIS ??  no, that’s just GRÁINNE MAIRÉAD CASSIDY !! she’s the THIRTY year old daughter of BLACK TOM CASSIDY & EILISH SULLIVAN ( surviving member of GOTHAM’S SULLIVAN CRIME FAMILY ) and is a PUB OWNER ( & MERCENARY ) at paragon academy. i hear she’s MACHIAVELLIAN & CHARISMATIC, but tends to be STOICAL & CYNICAL. her file says that her mutations are BANSHEE PHYSIOLOGY & FEAR MANIPULATION redirect to her stats page HERE and her pinterest board HERE.
may you be in heaven a full half hour                  before the DEVIL knows you’re dead.
SECTION ONE OF TWO: BULLET POINT HISTORY trigger warnings for talk of abuse, death and shootings.
gráinne mairéad cassidy. she was born in the SPRING in the heart of dublin city, third in a family of five. they didn’t know it then, looking down at their newest pride and joy - but she would be the APPLE of her father’s eye, and the very bane of her mother’s existence.
it wasn’t that she was a difficult child. in FACT, gráinne was the opposite. she was a quiet baby and an easily entertained toddler, and when she began attending primary school, she excelled. she was always LAUGHING and joking, and she seemed to get along, well enough, with her peers - she had a certain charm, even back then, that meant she didn’t seem to struggle in pulling together quite a LARGE friend group, dozens of little kids getting invited to every birthday party. on paper, it seemed, she was the perfect little girl. imagine, then, if you will : her first parent teacher meeting, when mrs hallahan says that gráinne has a little bit of a temper, and that she’s something of a ringleader.
they don’t really believe it, at FIRST - least of all tom. they chalk it down to a teacher with a bit of a grudge - and when they notice that she always needed to be in command of her siblings, they chalk that down to middle child syndrome. in a way, maybe, it WAS. they were all close in age, but gráinne had a strong personality ; her dad would ease eilish’s mind by telling her that it was just that coming through.
it was the ANGER that became impossible to ignore. she was eight years old the first time that she got into a fight. a girl in the schoolyard made a disparaging comment about gráinne’s younger sibling - they’d always been taught to stick up for one another lest no one else try to, and in the few seconds that it took for everyone else to catch up, she had already launched herself at that little girl, slamming her head into the tarmac beneath their feet. she had to be pulled off of her, and when she was asked what had happened, she’d explained with a kind of DISTRACTEDNESS. she didn’t care about what she’d just done. when her dad put her to bed that night, he asked her why, and gráinne just shrugged ; she hurt their feelings.
it seemed, back then, that gráinne’s biggest problem was with anyone who tried to pick on her family. indeed, back then, it was only when her siblings were at the other end of a rude comment or started something that they couldn’t finish that gráinne stepped in. soon enough, everyone at their catholic primary school knew that the cassidy’s were UNTOUCHABLES, if only because little gráinne made sure of it - though unfortunately, the threat of their sister would only hold for so long before the school was forced to expel her.
in the same years that a sibling or two transferred to a christian brothers all boys school, gráinne was moved to a new all girls - alone, this time, which tom and eilish thought for the BEST.
unfortunately, being apart from her siblings did little to curb the temper that had long since developed. she lasted a YEAR in this new school, and on the day they broke up for summer, she came home with a letter to her parents saying she wasn’t welcome back.
there was the belief, for a long time, that she would grow out of it. that EVENTUALLY, she would learn not to snap - they didn’t think to get her help, because they didn’t realize just how bad it was. somehow or another, the reality of gráinne’s willingness to attack anyone that had wronged her, or her family, or a friend, was lost on them.
at fourteen, gráinne assaulted a teacher. she was attending a private convent school, at this point, having exhausted all the nearby public ones - and she swore up and down that the nun she had hit had hit her FIRST. it didn’t matter that it was the truth. when it all came down to it. the school board removed her, immediately, and though they searched for months for some place new to send her, it was a NO GO. news spread fast.
eilish was the one with the idea to send her away. tom would have never agreed, if she hadn’t been so insistent - he probably still wouldn’t have, if it hadn’t been for the fact that she left little room for ARGUMENT. they’d exhausted dublin city, catering to their daughter who wasn’t going to change. they had ignored what they’d been told was brewing, and now they had a child who spoke volumes with her fists, who didn’t struggle to find herself a gang of new schoolmates and who carried with her, in the words of the nun left with a fractured jaw : an AURA of fear.
the only choice, her mother said, was to send her away. tom agreed, but at first it was on the condition that she be sent to XAVIER’S. at some point, she would develop a mutation - it seemed fair enough to presume. he convinced eilish, for a time, at least, that gráinne’s anger could be led back to the tumultuous feelings brought on by the coming in of a mutation. she lasted a week in xavier’s, before they were informed that she couldn’t continue - she was a danger to others, but most importantly, a danger to HERSELF. her reckless displays meant to try entice her parents take her home could be catastrophic, and the fights she got into in just a week were ridiculous. it was too much hassle for a girl that didn’t even seem to be a mutant.
eilish won out. in the end, she was taken in by the SULLIVAN’S, the half of the family she saw once yearly, if she was lucky, and she was sent to gotham academy. whatever her mother HOPED would happen from this turn of events didn’t. oh, she didn’t get kicked out again ; MIRACULOUSLY, though both her parents waited anxiously for word that she had been removed from another school, gráinne seemed to settle in quite well. she went back to EXCELLING in no time.
the problem was ; she was surrounded, now, by people who had the same issue that SHE did. kids with more anger than their tiny selves could hold. kids who knew how to throw a punch better than they knew how to solve the latest algebra assignment. kids who she could throw down with, one day, but who would turn around and clap her on the back in good nature, the next. she found her place amongst the miscreants, the bottom of the barrel. she was still angry. sometimes, she thought that she would never be anything more than a girl with a fire in her belly, always waiting for the spark that would cause an explode. but the thing was... no one cared anymore. no one QUESTIONED it. no one avoided her, because of it. while the ‘aura of fear’ she seemed to have developed back home followed her, while there were those who learned quick that gráinne cassidy shouldn’t be crossed... she soon found people who DIDN’T care for the image. who didn’t fear the rumors.
she graduated in the top ten percent, and the plan had always been for her to return HOME, but... in the sullivan’s, gráinne found something that she hadn’t had, with her parents. there was an ACCEPTANCE of who she was - all parts of her, at that. they were meant to be a home away from home. they were meant to make her welcome, and guide her through those years spent in gotham. but they weren’t meant to take her under their wings. they weren’t meant to nurture the darkest parts of her ; yet it quickly became evident that they had. gráinne didn’t return home. she remained in gotham, and she was very quickly initiated into the gang. it seemed perfectly natural.
two years. two more years of happiness, of belonging. it was strange that the only place she had ever felt knew her fully and knew her well was amongst gangsters and criminals, but gráinne found a happiness and a love and a loyalty amongst them that she found nowhere else. she got TWO YEARS after graduation with the people that she fondly came to refer to as her psuedo siblings, and then, it came crashing down.
days before thanksgiving, gráinne began to feel... wrong. a certain sense of unrest settled deep in the pit of her stomach, and it felt as if her head were going to split open with the force of the migraine that developed, the closer they got to that fateful day. she couldn’t put her finger on it. couldn’t understand it, no matter how hard she TRIED. it was business as usual for the family, and she couldn’t spare much of her time to trying to work it out.
on thanksgiving day, the irish gang were gunned down in a hotel restaurant by alberto falcone, in spite of their long held loyalty to the falcone family. gráinne was present. moreso than that ; gráinne was caught in the crossfire, despite a distant cousins effort to push her down out of the way.
she died.
and she AWOKE again, in the ruins of what was left. an emt found her struggling to breath beneath the weight of a cousin, and the only survivor of the thanksgiving day massacre was rushed under the cover of night and three cop cars to the nearby hospital. they couldn’t even call the recovery that she made miraculous, no sign of any injury sustained in the shooting left to tell the tale. she was deemed, somehow, lucky, and discharged into the car of her parents within the 24 hour window.
they brought her home, immediately. someone had wanted the irish gang DEAD, and had gone to great lengths to wipe them all out - gráinne and her mother, even her siblings, were at GREAT risk due to their bloodline alone, and gotham city was not a safe place for them to be. it was only back in dublin that she confided in her father that she had not emerged as unscathed as believed - and after a display of what she could DO, tom knew her mutation was all they could thank for her survival.
the mental recovery should have taken longer than the physical. the lone survivor of an event that had taken from this world almost her entire family, gráinne should have reacted in kind. but over the next few months, it became abundantly clear that there was something... missing. there was a part of gráinne CHANGED, and it was not what they might have thought. she was a banshee by mutation, dictated to have a stomach turning connection to DEATH in the aftermath of her family being wiped out - and death was not known for its kindness. something turned cold inside of gráinne, when she died. something turned sour.
and for the detriment of all those around her and the good of herself, she’s never really tried to FIND what was missing.
against her families wishes, she returned to gotham a mere two years after the sullivan’s execution. she made her survival KNOWN. and she did the one thing that until she died, she had never thought she wanted ; she established herself the head of the sullivan crime family, the LONE survivor, the new mob boss. she’s been working as so ever since.
SECTION TWO OF THREE: HEADCANONS
she was named gráinne for gráinne mhaol, also known by the anglicized grace o’malley - the PIRATE QUEEN of mayo, a ‘woman who hath imprudently passed the part of womanhood’ - mairéad for an aunt, long since passed, and she chose philomena because she’s the PATRON SAINT of lost causes ; and she always thought of herself as one.
think vampire diaries brand vampires, and how they can simply... switch their emotions off. since she DIED and her mutation kicked in, gráinne’s empathy has been quite literally shot. she isn’t missing a part of herself so much as her mutation... shut that part of her off, both because of the trauma, and because her status as a literal banshee puts her into a position ruled by death. she didn’t just CHANGE from the woman she was, after the event. she’s still her. but for a decade she’s been living without remorse and a pathetic version of empathy, because for a decade, she’s been choosing not to seek an answer or make a change.
the hole in the wall, the pub bought and run by gráinne, is a wicked source of income on it’s own - but it’s also the front for an illegal gambling ring, as per the usual for ANY business venture run by a mobster. there had to be a catch, and gráinne’s is that if you pay enough money or know the right people you can partake in any number of the illegal games being played above the bar on any given night.
at one point in time, gráinne cassidy and ajax falcone were engaged to be married. betrothed members of two gotham crime families, it would have been understandable if they couldn’t stand each other - but gráinne CARED for ajax, and in him had found a confidant that she didn’t quite have, even with the sullivan’s. her loyalty once extended to more than just her immediate family, and ajax is the only remaining reminder of that. in spite of the fact that their marriage fell through, in spite of the fact that he turned his back on his family, gráinne will ALWAYS care.
gráinne fell in love. she SURPRISED herself with that. somehow, there was a person who managed to warm her - even a fraction more. she loved them, and they loved her, and at the end of a whirlwind romance came the marriage that she had dreamt of, when she was younger and none the more naive. she would have burnt the world to ash for them and put them on a throne - but because of who she is, they DIED. they were killed. she’s vowed, since, that she will never love again.
SECTION THREE OF THREE: WANTED CONNECTIONS
people she met at xavier’s the one time she attended it and who hated her GUTS
ppl who didn’t hate her at xaviers !! friends !!
gotham friends !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gotham enemies
people who have hired her to do some nasty shit for them
people who have been the victim of her doing some nasty shit
someone soft who she can ... want to protect. someone outside of her family that she CARES abt, basically
anything
GRÁINNE CASSIDY, our MILA KUNIS fc is looking for her SIBLINGS / TWO OLDER, TWO YOUNGER who look like FINN COLE, OLIVIA COOKE, CILLIAN MURPHY, EMILY BROWNING, DOUGLAS BOOTH / ANY FACE CLAIM who are anything from 20-40 YEARS OLD. you DON’T have to contact prior to applying. ( do u want to play a member of a crime fam, but ur not sure which to pick? do u want to play an irish char, but dont know what to do? if the answer is yes to the first and no to the second, but ur ok with settling, then boy o boy do i have the crime fam for you ! mutant on their fathers side and mobster on their mothers, the cassidy-sullivan’s are honestly… p hot, if i say so myself. their matriarch was left the only member of the fam after they were wiped out in gotham about ten years ago, and now they’re all getting older, the kids are restarting that specific fam business. i love the idea of them all having like… conflicting ideals, conflicting ideas for their fam, conflicting LIVES. gráinne fancies herself the head of the family right now, and at least for the minute is continuing their loyalty to the falcone’s. her sibs could want to challenge her… could be happy working alongside her… could mayb not even wanna be apart of the family - it’s honestly up to YOU ! )
GRÁINNE CASSIDY, our MILA KUNIS fc is looking for the FAMILY OF HER DECEASED SPOUSE connection who look like ANY FACE CLAIMS and are ANY AGE. you DON’T have to contact prior to applying. ( gráinne married at twenty six to the self professed love of her young life - someone who was better than her, who may or may not have known the full extent of the cassidy-sullivan crime families activities, but who loved her back, regardless of all else. theirs was a whirlwind romance - they had known each other before, surely, but had gotten ahead of themselves quickly once together - begun in spring and married in winter ; and when the leaves began to turn once more, and new life began to bloom, gráinne’s love was taken from her. it was her fault. whether they died for her or died because of her, details can be smoothed out, but the blame rests on only one woman’s shoulders, and their family surely KNOWS. give her people who resent that she exists. people who can’t understand why a light of their lives was extinguished, while gráinne cassidy gets to continue. give her people who can fuel her own feelings of responsibility. )
GRÁINNE CASSIDY, our MILA KUNIS fc is looking for her BAR STAFF connections who look like ANY FACE CLAIM and are 21+. you DON’T have to contact prior to applying. ( the hole in the wall - previously named the hope & anchor - is an old style pub modeled after a classic irish bar, purchased in the summer past by the cassidy family, a deed in the name of gráinne. quiet and quaint, it sits on the corner of a street in town and is seemingly the home of a group of wise men that will happily chat and tell stories to just about anyone who sits near nough to them, and while irish made pints and alcohols are definitely the speciality, after 6.pm you can order some iconic ireland meals from the dinner menu. there’s live irish trad music every tuesday and thursday, after nine, and a dj plays all the current hits at the weekend. your character could be anything from that dj to a bartender or server - any job you can think of is fair game, and gráinne isn’t too bad of a person to work for, all considered. ) ( come work with gráinne and bea zsasz ! )
GRÁINNE CASSIDY, our MILA KUNIS fc is looking for her [ ARRANGED ] SPOUSE TO BE connection who looks like ANY FACE CLAIM and is 28+. you DON’T have to contact prior to applying. ( the only requirement that i’m going to place on this wc is that they must belong to another crime family - be it gotham based or from elsewhere. gráinne herself has come to the states with her mind on moving upwards in the world ; she herself has agreed to a union between her house and another’s, all in the name of power. in a life like HERS, bonds are made and broken easily. the only thing that can even begin to guarantee loyalty is a bond, of marriage or blood, and this is likely something that both families understand. her mother always threatened to turn her into a pawn ; gráinne has chosen to make her own moves. ) ( ajax falcone fulfills a past connection, but i’d still LOVE a current spouse to be )
