i did some expression challenges a while back with the scvi gang. here were some of the (better) results.

i miss my choir so i'm gonna rant a bit about what voice parts i think the galar/paldea kids would have because i want to

gloria is a mezzo voice, but typically sings alto. she has a charisma that keeps the choir motivated and is also really slow at reading sheet music

victor sings bass and is able to keep his low notes pleasant and not heavy. he's also considered the most reliable because of his kindess. bass section leader.

hop is a tenor with a decently flexible range, more often than not filling in for the lower voice parts when there's not enough people there. his smiles and high energy are contagious and gets everyone in the choir in a good mood

bede is an unexpected baritone, which surprised everyone in the choir during voicing since they thought he'd sing tenor. not only is he a great singer with a vocal coach (opal), he also has impeccable stage presence

marnie sings soprano (to the shock of everyone who thought she'd sing alto) and high notes fall out of her face SUPER easily, like she makes it look effortless. she's also musically inclined and often has a crowd of other singers following her around for either advice or just to try and get closer to her. it never works.

peonia sings alto, and is tied with Bede for best stage presence. it's become a friendly competition between them to see who receives the most compliments after a concert (although she believes she's a better singer than Bede). alto section leader

juliana is an alto that's loud to a fault, the kind where the director has to stop and say "you're being too loud" (remember! choir is all about finding balance! it's as strong as its weakest link). she sucks at reading sheet music but she is fun to be around!

florian is a tenor with a "singer-songwriter" kind of voice (similar to cavetown!), although he mainly keeps to himself, he's better with sheet music than juliana and is always willing to help others out. tenor section leader

arven is a baritone that can sing tenor, but he only sings tenor if there are very few of them in the choir. he's usually found singing while cooking, and doesn't like to draw attention to himself during rehearsal but it happens a lot because juliana likes to mess with him

nemona is capable of singing both alto and mezzo, but she's way too loud for her own good (not as loud as juliana though) and shines better as a soloist where she doesn't need a mic. she also helps juliana with sheet music. mezzo section leader

penny is a soprano who's opposite to her sister in almost every way. she's very quiet and has negative stage presence but also understands music theory really well! but only in technical aspects, she has no idea how to be musical. florian and penny often sing together to try and get out of their shells

giacomo is a baritone that can drop down to bass. he's also musically inclined, more often that not being the quickest to deciphering sheet music and being GODLY at sight reading. he sometimes composes songs for the choirs and would most def be the bartione/bass section leader. giacomo also gets along well with marnie!

mela is an alto that borders mezzo, but she also hates being in the choir as a concept because it goes against the image she built up for herself (she genuinely loves being in the choir though). she hates sight reading with a passion

atticus is a tenor, and often has a better time understanding classical pieces and gospels over jazz or contemporary pieces. he's eccentric, but is also the fastest at getting everyone their required choir outfits for any occasion (js, he would eat up nelson mass in d minor)

ortega is a fairly flextible tenor/baritone, but despite his beautiful singing voice, he would much rather play the piano. he'll still take any compliments you give him. he and bede prob get into (playful) fights a lot and often compete for solos

eri sings soprano and is a very powerful one, although not in the same way juliana and nemona are loud. everyone thought she'd sing alto but voicing her revealed she had a pretty, shimmery singing voice

kieran is a tenor who can reach some baritone notes but struggles to keep them consistent. everyone around him is real supportive of his efforts, and it's really embarassing him!!

carmine is a mezzo, but she claims to be a soprano. she tends to overexaggerate her singing ability, but is definitely not a bad singer by any means. often scores well in solo competition

crispin sings tenor but cannot keep in time with everyone else to save his life. he's usually the reason why songs go way faster than or normal, or falls behind everyone else. he is working on it, and although lacey tries her best, she's more of a distraction than anything

lacey has a super flexible singing voice able to sing alto notes through soprano notes, and typically sings soprano. her kindness in the choir makes her a real reliable source of help, but she's also really strict about her music theory teaching! soprano section leader

amarys is an alto that's capable of going down to tenor and often gets shuffled around a lot. despite her great vocal technique, her lack of expression often gets in the way when doing more upbeat songs. alto section leader

drayton is a bass that does not do any practice during rehearsal and often slacks off and dozes off. despite this, he somehow gets the set list memorized and perfected by the time concerts roll around and also has more than decent sight reading skills. everyone (except carmine) is scared of him.

ok i have GOT to make a halloween request. i don’t really care which characters (tho scarvio main cast + jacq or turo is preferred at the time of writing this) but how about them reacting to the reader having halloween as their birthday? bc ofc it’s MY birthday so i feel obligated to request this lol and ofc u don’t have to do this but i thought it’d be fun to make some kind of halloween themed request ESP after seeing the security breach one. anyways have a nice day!!! :DDD -galaxy

Arven

"Wow, little buddy..so does this mean we can only celebrate one or the other?"

He's joking, of course, but he finds it cool that your birthday also falls on Halloween.

Growing up, he never really celebrated either occasion himself....although that doesn't mean he can't celebrate them with you!

He gifts you your favorite sandwich (of course, it's what he does best) and sets up a picnic where you two hang out for most of the day.

By nightfall, you learn of a mass outbreak of ghost types and drag him around, trying to catch them all before dawn.

Although Mabosstiff has the clear type advantage should any of them wanna fight, Arven still gets spooked easily.

Especially as a mischievous Trevenant disguising itself as a normal tree scared the hell out of him.

Turns out you asked it to beforehand (with you promising to catch it should it succeed), and he's not amused in the slightest.

He doesn't stay mad forever, though. It IS your birthday, after all.

Nemona

Girl goes above and beyond tbh.

And by that, I mean she organizes a whole Halloween/birthday party for you in one of the classrooms (with the director's permission, ofc).

She got cute little outfits for her main Pokémon team and had them all surprise you when you walked through the door.

Honestly?

You expected nothing less from her.

So the rest of the day is filled with fun spooky activities that she (unwillingly) drags Arven and Penny into.

Her gift to you is a Dipplin!

Since it's like a candy apple and a super cool dragon type, she thought it was perfect (her connections in Kitakami came in handy this year).

She would def make sure to celebrate your birthday like this every year even after you all graduate.

Penny

She already knew long before you told her (girl does her research).

But she doesn't plan on making a huge deal out of it. Big celebrations were never really her thing, and you knew that too.

The most she'll do is send you a present and a card tied to her Umbreon (who shows up at your dorm in a cute little ghost outfit).

Team Star catches wind of your birthday being today and decides to throw together a little surprise-Halloween party, eventually convincing their leader to help them plan it out and get permission to use one of the old classrooms.

You love it, but poor Penny jumps like 10 feet into the air when everybody suddenly pops out wearing masks.

"Is this surprise party for you or for me?" You jokingly ask, although she just gives you an awkward smile before you all proceed with the festivities.

Do you have any Scarlet/Violet ships (or even just ship ideas) for the Omegaverse yet?

Answering this a year and a half later but so it goes sometimes.

Basically, while I’m still leaning towards not adding any fankids for Paldea until one of the kids smacks me from the void and forces themselves and their potential friends into existence, good fanart has convinced me of the SV ships I would lean towards.

Main Ship which is canon king is Florian/Kieran. I was all set to go with Arven and the protag, but as soon as the second part of the DLC gave Kieran an edge, it was over. Instantly sold. Love that kind of dynamic where one of the characters has the potential to be mean/unhinged. So yeah, they’re def endgame. Omega4Omega most likely. Since I do prefer Florian as an omega over an alpha. And while I would be willing to go either way with Kieran, the next ship is why I lean omega for him too.

While I overall prefer Kieran with Florian, fanart has made me like Drayton/Kieran as well. Like a lot. So that’s a thing that I waver about. They’re probably fucking during the events of the second DLC. Or at least around that time period, some kind of a relationship between them starts. But I know myself too well and the low hanging fruit there is surprise accidental pregnancy between them. Because I think the drama and potential fallout would be fun. Would Drayton feel forced to step up and take responsibility? Would his grandfather make him take responsibility? Would that even be something Kieran wants since their relationship was meant to be purely physical and not emotional when they first got involved? And then throwing in Florian and how he and Kieran resolve things just further complicates things.

I have mused on a three way route between them if I end up getting too attached to Kieran/Drayton, since I think Florian/Drayton could be fun as well. But really that’s lower priority to figure out since it’s only once the hypothetical Kieran/Drayton fankid maybe becomes concrete that the ball starts rolling. If I can avoid making that kid, than I don’t have to decide anything with them.

Any other ships past that are much lower priority. Hassel/Brassius are really good and for sure endgame. My fav normie ship from this game. Since they’re Old Man Yaoi (really Middle Aged Man Yaoi but hush), I’m not sure if I’d make a fankid for them. The vibe I get from them is they’ve been together for a while, so I feel like they would have had a kid together already if they were going to have kids. But as the kid clearly doesn’t exist in the games, I guess they’re a childless couple. Who knows though, I like them enough they’re the next most likely duo I would feel compelled to develop. Hassel is for sure an alpha. Brassius I can see going either way but low hanging fruit says to make him an omega. Although narratively I feel him being a beta would fit best. Both the kind of partner Hassel’s family would disapprove of the most (since if he were an alpha, at least he would maybe be someone impressive, for all that they would still view the relationship as a disappointment) and would also double as to why they don’t have children. No risk of accident baby so something they just never got around to.

I kind of flip flop between Rika/Geeta and Rika/Larry. But then I also kinda like Larry/Grusha. Some combo of that will probably be what I go with. For most of the other characters in general, I don’t have solid ships that stand out. I do like Arven/Florian, but since Kieran is too powerful and beat out Arven, I might make Arven/Juliana the fallback ship. But then Juliana is good with Nemona too. But also Nemona/Penny could work as a pair the spares so I’m sure I’ll combo that group together somehow. Depends who makes the most interesting fankids.

And past that I got nada. I’ve seen enough fanart of various other combos of characters where there’s a lot of other ships I don’t mind, but I don’t feel strongly enough to comment on them as having potential for me to endgame. If they happen they happen. But really I wouldn’t add any of them until I’m able to figure out the final situation with Florian’s family.

Nothing like an off-type of CS to really feel like I’ve been dragged back in. Still, gotta test the new pairs somehow, right?

Vs Glacia Pure Electric clear, with Iono as support. She is pretty good at quickly capping off Mix Kris and SS Hau, but beyond that this team isn't so great. Electric really is like one cluster of the strongest pairs in the game and a bunch of middling picks, huh? On the plus side, when Kris' sync failed to KO center, Iono's buddy move finished the job. That Cannon can Zap.

Vs Sidney SS Nemona is awkward. Not because she's specifically bad, but because her partnerships are slightly awkward. She works well with Sun, but in attempting to get Fairy Zone in there too, it really is just Mina as a solution, which is very imperfect. I'm really bummed about the state of physical Fairy. Mina is really good though. Her Buddy move blocking Sync is excellent, and she can stall her own sync to overwrite Sidney's Dark Zone and just negate his nonsense.

Vs Phoebe

Mix Leaf was an acquisition made under the impression I would not be around long. She's 5/5 now by that way. Mix Scout is weird. I've used her a few times and my general impression is "mid." She's so extremely reliant on Rain it's kinda sad, especially given her relative inability to call it by herself. I think the intended structure is to pop Max Move immediately, using Sure Crit and her entry +4 to provide good starting damage and Rain through the first three actions, then reset Rain with her sync with the extended effect. I assume. Or you can just run Water Gals with good old SS Kris and not care about anything. When I did the on-type run, this team pre-sync cleared Steven. Which was impressive enough to get me to off-type entirely rather than do the one team I was interested in (more on that next). I'm honestly considering giving Serena the Support Role. While I love Kris, this team handles even off-type very effectively, and Serena's sync is strong enough to clear center regardless thanks to Leaf's debuffs. Anyway, there's Leaf's damage after one sync. Serena didn't kill because she missed crit. Happens to the best of us.

Vs Drake

Now this was the team that got me thinking about off-type. Arc Steven on his own is ridiculous, but I really liked the new Lillie as well. As a combo, they're already very good, but then there's Poppy, who fits this structure like a glove. Primarily because Lillie's Buddy move is 0 gauge, meaning all four bars can go to Gigaton Hammer. I admit, I didn't know how well Poppy would do given her charge and reload structure, but frankly she only needs one. The Hammer is absurd. This is damage to an off-type fight, in which Drake had reduced damage due to not having a status change. I didn't read the tips and didn't pay attention, and she still clean one-shot the center. For clarity, when I tested this off-type before doing a run, I had them fight Sidney, where she dealt 62k. I only know about Drake's damage reduction thing because I saw this number and thought it was a bit lower than I remembered. They're absolutely nuts.

Vs Steven

Alright then, real talk. Arc Cynthia is absurdly powerful, and I personally think Rika is redundant. Cynthia so desperately wants Sandstorm that only setting Ground Zone misses out on a lot. Moreover Rika doesn't specifically provide her with anything. Bulk, I suppose, but she's not even particularly frail. Cynthia just steamrolls the fight regardless. What is worth noting is that, absent Cynthia, Rika's a pretty good Roxanne partner, providing decent Sp Def coverage to Roxanne's Def buffs, and giving her needed Atk boosts with trainer move. Off-typing, so I use half MP, but the concept is there. Roxanne and Arc Cynthia remain an absolutely hilarious duo. The constant pressure from Roxanne's debuffs and Cynthia's just sick huge damage is divine. I could probably find more to do with Rika if she were 3/5, but I don't feel like doing that right now.
