salutations, i’ve got a bucket full of V3 redesigns for you all!
this is for a “rewrite” fic, technically, and i thought it’d be more fun to give the character designs my personal touches, since i’m gonna be doing the same with my writing
little bullet point reasonings on each of the designs below the cut
ouma: - i didnt really change too much of his design, but i wanted to give it less of a “straitjacket” look and decided to go for a wispy, mysterious look. his scarf now doubles as a hood, which is loosely inspired by his cape in his official art - i gave him a bang to cover half his face, because i just like how it looks on him lmao, imo it gives him sort of a sneaky, “intentionally being the creepy kid” look
himiko: - ill be honest, her redesign was just me having fun. i dont mind her canon design too much, but i did wanna give her the air of not only a performer, but a girl who seriously doesnt care about social conventions (autism) so she wears her cape and her little witch dress around everywhere bc she loves it - i gave her more teal on her design, since APPARENTLY thats what v3 has decided is himiko’s main color? teal, not red? so i gave her a healthy mix of both
kaito: - he’s wearing a JAXA jumpsuit that is modified into his signature magenta color, but he’s an idiot so he’s wrapped the top half around his waist so he can wear his little... bomber-style jacket, since aerodynamics and all that - i made his hair.... more normal, because i really hate drawing kaito’s stupid spiky hair! now he has a little headband flattening his wild hair
shuichi: - his design in canon, while... nice, it’s very plain. so i kept the general look and feel of the canon uniform but adding some touches that feel personal to shuichi, like the turtleneck with sleeves that cover his palms. it gives him a more reclusive look, somebody who prefers being in their comfort zone
kaede: - she’s the first one i started with, so she ended up being a bit of a “basis” for the rest of the designs, considering how different my design is from her canon one. personally, dislike the skintight sweater vest, it doesnt look comfortable NOR does it suit kaede’s personality (imo) so i decided to give her an outfit that makes her look loose, carefree, but still naive and inexperienced. - ponytail, i just think kaede would prefer as well, her canon design has such a round hair shape and it looks silly if i focus on her silhouette too much. shes like a bobblehead
maki: - HOLY SHIT, maki i had a good time redesigning, since i harbor nothing but disdain for how she looks in canon. her stupid edgy red/black seifuku with thigh highs and mile long hair just was too much for me to bear. - i gave her an outfit that seems serious, but still cutesy and nonthreatening. i took her red/black palette and turned up the warmness a bit so she has more browns and maroons that give the impression she’s warmer than she acts like she is - her pigtails are much shorter as well-- i cant decide if theyre clip-ons or her real hair, but at least theyre shorter. honestly, i know she’s supposed to be the ~wooby tragic backstory sexy anime girl~, but her mile long pigtails wouldve gotten her ass yoinked from behind and killed long ago. so i chopped them. also, she’s got a handgun tucked in the back of her pants, hidden by her sweater’s bagginess. no more lame knives for you maki, you get a gun
korekiyo: - just like with himiko’s design, i was mostly just having fun with korekiyos redesign. i like his canon design, but i wanted to try my hand at giving him a much more androgynous look. it ties well into the whole sister thing, anyway... - the flowers depicted on his clothing are crudely drawn i admit, but theyre intended to be white lilies, which represent a few things: renewal of the soul, a common funeral flower, commitment and rebirth - i also figured, if im gonna give more girls pants, i should give at least one of the male characters a skirt, and korekiyo is beautiful and i wanted to draw him in drapey clothing.
miu: - and best for last is miu iruma! man, i HATE her canon design, seriously, what a lazy design! they just slapped bondage gear over a pink seifuku and were done with it! dont even get me started on her long, loose and wild hair that would be an utter nightmare for people who work with machines. i decided to keep her wild and long hair, but packed it all in a thick braid, because it ended up looking surprisingly good for her. besides, she’d probably make some innuendo about it being the “perfect to use as a reign from behind” or something lmao - i also changed her pink seifuku into a frilly, steampunk-styled shirt with the straps and gear on top to kind of... hold it into a specific shape. - we were ROBBED of miu with cute overalls in one of her beta designs, so i gave them back. i rly kinda kept in mind the mindset of “if i was miu iruma, what would *I* personally choose from my wardrobe to feel attractive and powerful?” - i wanted to give her a toolbelt, but thought it would look a little cluttered on the design. but she likely uses one regularly

HELLO MY FRIEND!! I’m happy you’re doing requests again!! I hope everything is going great so far (: you gotta do some research for this character is you don’t know him, but here I go!!
Can you do Himiko, Tenko, Celestia, Akane, Sonia, Ibuki, Korekiyo and Maki with a S/O who has a Cutthroat Personality from Akudama Drive??
Thank you :D and im sending lots of hugs along you’re way :)
Hey hey! Things are going great here! How are you?
And I'm sending hugs right back! Thank you very much :3
I did have to do some research, so I hope you like it!
Himiko, Tenko, Celestia, Akane, Sonia, Ibuki, Korekiyo and Maki with an S/O Who's Like Cutthroat (Akudama Drive)
Himiko Yumeno
She finds you very strange
She heard about you a couple times, but she never really paid much attention
Until she stumbled into you in public, and you started a conversation
You didn't look too evil, so she just said "sure why not" and spent a couple minutes talking to you
You were actually pretty nice, but your childishness threw her off a little bit
And how much you complimented her red hair
For a murderer, you were fairly charming
She's careful around you for a while, but as long as you're not killing her or anyone around her, then you're probably fine
She doesn't understand your love for the color red, but oh well, you do you
She doesn't mind when you act like a child
Or when you start humming children's rhymes out of nowhere
It's just a you thing, so go ahead
She thinks you're a little weird, but she loves you anyway
But the serial killer thing is questionable
Tenko Chabashira
She doesn't know much about murderers and stuff, so you just look like a regular person when she sees you
She'll approach you and introduce herself
Your friendly, childlike nature made her smile a little bit
And so, she decided to be your friend
She doesn't understand why you like the color red so much, but hey, you do you
She loves listening to you hum nursery rhymes or songs
She'll squeal and hug you, fawning over how cute you are
Now imagine she finds out you're a murderer
If you're a female, she will be very conflicted
She loves you and doesn't want anything to happen to you, and she will ask you not to do it anymore
If you haven't killed since meeting her, she'll be glad about it
But if you're a male...
I'm sorry, but she might straight up dump you
The one male she trusted, and you turned out to be crazy
But that's only if she finds out
If she doesn't, Tenko will live happily with you
Celestia Ludenburg
She's heard of you, but she doesn't care
One time she saw you in public and decided to approach you
Your completely white clothes caught her interest
She's thinking about how good you'll look in black
Cuz, y'know, vampire butlers
And your personality intrigued her
You were surprisingly friendly for a murderer
She honestly doesn't mind that you're a murderer too much
She'll never let herself get killed, and she has bodyguards to prevent that, anyway
At first, she definitely wanted to convert you to a vampire servant
But she actually becomes to love you for you
She giggles to herself whenever you do anything childish or get excited at red things
She would encourage you to stop killing
She has bodyguards and a huge mansion, so she will protect you
Even though she just wanted a vampire servant out of you at first, she does love who you are
But the offer still stands if you want to
Akane Owari
She has no idea you're a murderer at first
To her, you looked like any other person
And you looked nice, so she introduced herself
Your childishness kind of threw her off, but she doesn't mind
She grew up taking care of her younger siblings, so she can handle it perfectly fine
She finds it endearing and sometimes funny when you get excited seeing the color red
When she catches you humming children's songs, she listens for a minute before gushing about how cute you are
If she finds out the truth about you, she'll be pretty mad that you didn't tell her
But if you hadn't killed anyone since you met her, then she'll ask you to stop doing it
She doesn't want you getting hurt or even worse: executed
But if she never finds out, you just live your life as a normal person with her
And Akane loves all of you, so it'll all be okay
Sonia Nevermind
So.
We know how she feels about serial killers
She knows all about you and thought you were more interesting than a lot of other killers
And when she saw you in public, she recognized you right off the bat
And she approached you with stars in her eyes, asking you questions
It surprised her to find out how friendly you actually were when she introduced herself
And how childish and innocent you seemed
You were definitely different from other serial killers she read about
She thinks it's really cute when you get excited when you see the color red
But when you're actually in a relationship, she wouldn't want you to kill anymore
She doesn't want anything to happen to you
In the end, Sonia is probably the only one who doesn't mind that you're a serial killer
Actually, she's one of two who don't mind
Ibuki Mioda
She's not really caught up with these sort of things, so she had no idea you were a murderer
She just thought you looked cool and wanted to get to know you
And the way you acted innocent and childlike kind of resonated with her
She loves hearing you humming children's rhymes
Would definitely join you when you do it
The way you got excited about red things kind of weirded her out, but that's a you thing, so she won't judge
She probably won't figure out you're a killer unless you tell her
Even if she hears people talk about you, she wouldn't believe them
If you do tell her, she'll be shocked and freak out a little
But then you'll swear to never do it again, and she'll take your word for it
Or you can never say anything, and she'll probably never find out
Whether you tell her or not, Ibuki will love you for what makes you you
Korekiyo Shinguji
He is very fascinated by you
Nobody can tell that you're a murderer just by glancing at you
At least, anyone who doesn't know who you are
He does, and he wanted to talk to you the second he saw you
He finds your childlike nature to be very charming
When you start humming children's rhymes, he'll just sit and watch you
And also very endearing
He's a killer himself, but for an entirely different reason than whatever your motives are
He would probably want to see your kills in action, honestly
And he'll watch you admire the blood with a smile
He loves when you get excited about something, even when it's blood
Korekiyo probably appreciates you the most
He's a killer too, so he can't really judge you
And if any cops try to bring you back to your execution, he won't hesitate to kill them too
Maki Harukawa
Whoops I forgot to add her in until after I posted this She knew exactly who you were
She knows all the local serial killers
But you didn't look like you were doing much, so she decided to say hey
Just because she knew what you did doesn't mean she knows what your personality is like
So you can imagine her surprise when she found out that you were actually friendly and kind of childish
She knew her fair share of killers, but not like you
If she saw you at first glance, she never would've guessed that you were a murderer
She was curious, so she decided to get to know you
She may act like your childishness is annoying, but she does crack a smile when you start humming children's songs
She stops what she's doing and listens to you with a small smile
She doesn't understand your love for the color red, but oh well, you do you
Now, she really wants to stop killing, and she wants you to do the same
She doesn't want you to get hurt, or God forbid, executed
Whether you do or not is up to you
But Maki understands you, even though your backgrounds are different
And she loves you, no matter how strange you are

A few notes before I start: Sorry about the white backgrounds, that’s how they showed up and I didn’t know how to fix them. Also, these summaries are going to be a lot shorter than they have in my last few posts just since there are so many characters. Anyway, let’s begin.
Literally godly, this should be your regular outfit -
Rantaro Amami - I shouldn’t have to be the first person to point out to you that he’s hot. Not to mention that the pink bottoms work wonders with his hair.
Nagito Komaeda - Hhhhhhhh
Byakuya Togami - I will admit, I’m basing this position more off of his appearance in the promo art. I don’t know how much I like this look on his regular sprite, but he’s so hot in that promo art, you don’t even know.
Show me who picked this out for you so I can thank them -
Sayaka Maizono - SHE LOOKS SO CUTE OML. I’d go through each detail, but in short: everything.
Gundham Tanaka - Shirtless Gundham, what more can I say?
Ibuki Mioda - I absolutely adore how her swimsuit doesn’t just go with her hair, but matches it. Perfection.
Korekiyo Shinguji - When the trailer first dropped and I saw the screen with all of the released swimsuits, I immediately started scanning to see if they put Korekiyo in a wetsuit and by God, they did.
Shuichi Saihara - He looks more tired than usual, but I just have a gut feeling his other sprites will look better.
Mondo Owada - I probably should’ve put him in standard, but he looks so good without a shirt on, I couldn’t possibly.
Kaito Momota - Space shorts.
Sakura Ogami - She was actually going to be somewhere in the first tier originally, but I just can’t put her there because of the color. I probably should’ve put her down with the other people with this problem (Uhhh... okay... I guess) but I couldn’t bear to.
Cute!/Cool! -
Chihiro Fujisaki - a;lskdfh;adskfijshdkjc He’s so cute, someone help. I’m drowning in cute. He looks so excited to be wearing it, too. I think this was the best choice they could’ve gone with to not give him something too masculine or feminine, fantastic choice.
Leon Kuwata - This category was originally just going to be “Cute!” but his bottoms looked so cool, I had to put him up here.
Toko Fukawa - Not only does her swimsuit look good on her, but I love the way that they designed her and Genocide Jack to be wearing the same swimsuit in different styles. Super cool.
Tenko Chabashira - I think this was one of the only palette swaps that I actually liked. There are probably a few other swaps that I didn’t even notice, but I like this one specifically because of the color swap. She looks great in pink.
Kyoko Kirigiri - I think I would’ve normally put her in standard, but her gloves are just too cool.
Mukuro Ikusaba - Love the colors and love the pattern. Simple, yet great.
Mahiru Koizumi - Mahiru, your camera. You can’t take that in the water. Mahiru- MAHIRU
Akane Owari - This is actually the swimsuit she wore during chapter 2 in the original game and I thought she looked great both times.
Chiaki Nanami - Same as Akane, so there’s not really any reason for either one to be higher or lower than the other. Peko would be up here too, but it’s really basic.
Gonta Gokuhara - I just really like the pattern and also that he’s still carrying the thing over his shoulder. It’s really weird who got to keep accessories and who didn’t, but we’ll get there.
Masaru Daimon - He just looks so cool in his shorts, I’m sure he’s excited to have them.
Shirokuma - Despite how I may feel about Shirokuma, this is a very cute outfit for them.
Standard -
Kaede Akamatsu - Definitely the best-looking of the protagonists, even if Shuichi’s higher. He’s only higher because I have faith that his faults are because of the sprite choice. If I’m wrong, sue me.
Kirumi Tojo - This is another instance of getting to keep the accessories. She still has her headband on. Why?? It wasn’t crucial to her character or anything. I get that Kyoko has backstory reasons and Gonta and Mahiru’s personalities revolve around their items, but why Kirumi? She had other things that defined her better.
Peko Pekoyama - Like I said before, basic and kinda bland. She still looks good, though.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu - He actually gained an accessory. Why does he have a necklace now? His shorts are nice, though.
Hajime Hinata - O r a n g. Or maybe red.
Maki Harukawa - Basic swimsuit, no color change whatsoever. A nice swimsuit, but nothing special.
Genocide Jack - Everything I said before about Toko’s swimsuit still applies, Genocide Jack’s is just way more boring.
Aoi Asahina - A good color swap, but not good enough to make up for her basic swimsuit.
Monomi - I like that they put her in a one-piece. Very cute. Wish they would do that all the time...
Monaca Towa - I just noticed that she is the only character other than Monomi to wear a one-piece. Why??
Makoto Naegi - The most basic swimsuit imaginable combined with his regular color scheme and pattern.
Hiroko Hagakure - I think I like that she kept her jacket? Maybe? It’s a different jacket, but it still counts.
Nagisa Shingetsu - Black and white bottoms. Okay. You do you, buddy.
Imposter - It’s fine. It’s just fine.
Izuru - I like that they gave him a separate swimsuit from Hajime, but why is it so bland and boring?
I love you, so I’ll forgive it -
Sonia Nevermind - She actually looks great and is so cute. So cute that she’d be in the top tier if not for one crucial fact. If you’ll notice, I mentioned earlier that Peko, Chiaki, and Akane are all wearing the same swimsuit here that they had worn in the original second game. However, there’s another character that appears in the scene I’m talking about that is wearing a different outfit than they are here. That charcter is Sonia, who was seen in a wetsuit in the original game. It was thrown off as a joke, but I still can’t stop thinking about how pretty she looked in that wetsuit. It’s literally my profile picture for my main blog, that’s how pretty she is wearing it. I’m mad because they’re basically agreeing that she didn’t look pretty/sexy in the wetsuit when that couldn’t be more wrong.
Celestia Ludenberg - I literally just wish she was wearing a one-piece, it can be the same style and everything. Honestly a missed opportunity.
Kotoko Utsugi - It’s just a weird pattern. Love the colors, though.
K1-B0 - I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love the floaty, but he still deserves more respect.
Miu Iruma - The pattern is... fitting... but still bad.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Taka... sweetie... why...?
Uhhh... okay... I guess -
Angie Yonaga - I like the look, but it’s exactly what she usually wears just without the jacket. Does that mean that she’s always wearing a swimsuit? Why? Even Asahina didn’t wear a swimsuit as her regular outfit.
Kazuichi Soda - I definitely like this color better than the piss yellow he used to have, but it’s still not great. I like that he got to keep his little logo thing, but I’m confused as to why he gets to keep his hat. It’s just like Kirumi keeping her headpiece. I’m fine with it in this case, but why him and not...? Well, we’ll get there.
Komaru Naegi - A lot of the outfits in this tier are just because I like the look and not the color scheme, including Komaru. Yellow’s just an odd fit for the shade of green that her hair is.
Tsumugi Shirogane - The same as Komaru. Nice style, but the yellow and blue clash for me.
Hiyoko Saionji - Surprise surprise, it’s the same thing. I think the style really fits her, but I hate the yellow and green. Not into it.
Junko Enoshima - Ok, we’re out of the color scheme repetition. I don’t know why she’s wearing a tanktop. It just looks a little off, but I can’t place why. I don’t know why she isn’t just wearing the regular swimsuit like she was in the promo art. If she was, I’d probably put her in Standard.
Yasuhiro Hagakure - I’ll be honest, I didn’t notice the alien pattern on his shorts until after I had already downloaded the picture and closed out of the tier list tab. If I had noticed before, I’d probably put him in Cute!/Cool! but I still don’t really like the color scheme. Fitting, but not pleasing.
Kurokuma - The only reason he’s above Kokichi is because he has a water gun and I think that’s cute.
Kokichi Oma - Literally just gut instinct. I like that he kept his checkered pattern and purple color scheme. Something just told me he should be down here.
Monokuma - It just feels wrong, but I can’t place why, same as Kokichi.
Teruteru Hanamura - I probably would’ve liked his outfit better if his shirt was buttoned up at least a little bit. Now that I think about it, Mondo should’ve had one of these, too.
Who signed off on this? -
Usami - WHY IS SHE IN A BIKINI??? SHE’S A STUFFED RABBIT.
Nekomaru Nidai - I can absolutely see him picking this swimsuit to wear, but that doesn’t mean I like it.
Mikan Tsumiki - You know why she’s here.
God no. I hate it -
Ryoma Hoshi - So Mahiru gets to keep her camera, Kirumi gets to keep her headpiece, and Kazuichi gets to keep his hat.. but Ryoma doesn’t get anything? I genuinely had to take a second to figure out who this was the first time I saw him. He can’t even have a sunhat or anything? That would’ve been cute.
Himiko Yumeno - I can’t imagine a world in which she would choose this swimsuit for herself. The color is off, the style is off, I could much more easily see her wearing something similar to Monaca’s swimsuit. Basically, just let some of the girls wear one-pieces. They don’t all have to be in bikinis.
Jataro Kemuri - The pattern. I can’t even stand to look at it long enough to figure out what it is.
Hifumi Yamada - It did take me a second to figure out what his swimsuit was, but as soon as I did, he hit the bottom of the list. Again, it’s definitely fitting, but I still hate it.

[V3 SPOILERS] Shuichi x s/o after the game
anon said: I’m watching Lucahjin on YouTube play the final trial and I just had a massive idea!! What if survivors (I’m referring to shuichi mainly) are able to meet someone who can help them regain their memories, and it turns out to be pregame!shuichi’s s/o? It’s got a lot of spoiler content so I totally understand if this is something you don’t wanna write but I thought of shuichi, and I know you like shuichi lol. 💕
I feel so bad for everyone else in my inbox right now cause this was like, one of the only asks I felt inspired to write for in weeks so I took it and ran- But this is a really cool idea! I’m not sure how people will take my small description of pregame!Shuichi, maybe another day I’ll go more in depth about him, but I hope you enjoy! It’s a tad bit long but honestly I cut it off where I could cause if I didn’t I’d be here with waay too many words for just one tumblr post, haha! -Mod Akane
Shuichi blinked his eyes slowly, before taking a big breath- like he’d been deprived of air for such a long time- and above him was a blank ceiling with a single light at it. He was confused, at most- last thing he remembered was exiting the fictional reality of Danganronpa with Maki and Himiko.
Maki and Himiko.. He sat up quickly, now worried about where they were. Were they next to him, had they wound up in different locations..?
He found himself in something that, if he had to guess, it looked like an actor’s dressing room. Considering the situation he had been in, he wasn’t necessarily too surprised. What did surprise him was the person sitting in the room with him, relaxed in the chair in front of a cliché mirror filled with lights.
“O-Oh, Shuma- Shuichi!” They blinked awake, clearly tired, as if they’d been waiting in that chair for a while.
“I- uhm.. Where am I?” He asked curiously as he looked down at himself. His cap was on his head again, and instead of that usual outfit he had worn in the game, it had been replaced with some sort of high school uniform he didn’t really recognize.
“It’s.. sort of like a backstage.. Like an actor’s dressing room, kinda thing. I’m not too sure myself, they didn’t tell me much..” The person trailed off as they stood up and approached the surface Shuichi had been lying on- which he realized was some kind of couch- a one slow step at a time, as if to not frighten him.
“Okay..” Shuichi thought for a second as he got his bearings. “Why.. am I here?”
“You ended Danganronpa.” They smile at him. “So since everyone exited that world, you came back here. And as far as I know, I’m here to help you gain back your memories of the real world.. Since I knew you before.” They chuckle under their breath a bit nervously, rubbing their arm and avoiding eye contact.
“Everyone?” Shuichi asks, perking up. “Even.. even those who died?”
They sigh, seemingly disappointed. “I-I’m not sure. I know you, Maki, and Himiko are back..” They took a second to breathe. “But I would assume that people like Kaede and Kaito are back, yeah. But I wasn’t allowed access to anywhere but here, so I don’t know.”
“Allowed… access?”
They took a seat next to Shuichi as he sat up properly on the couch. “Team Danganronpa, right? I don’t know why but they’re still really secretive of everything.. So someone guided me to this room and said to wait till you woke up, cause I’d be taking you home.”
“Taking me home?” Shuichi asks. “How did I… know you, before the game?”
They laugh nervously, looking towards the other side of the room. “I-I’m- well, I was, I guess- your s/o.”
Shuichi’s face lit up bright red. He had an s/o? Well, he supposed that’s why they looked familiar.. And a tad attractive… he didn’t think that, no, shut up, that didn’t happen- “O-oh! I-I’m sorry..”
He took a second to breathe. He had really left behind an s/o, just for the game..? What was he like? ..what was this world like?
“Don’t worry about it!” They looked back at him, smiling, even if their face was turning warm and it looked like they were about to cry out of glossy, pretty eyes. “I can’t blame you. But we’re both here now, so I mean.. Enjoy what I can, y’know? Oh! You.. probably forgot, but my name is (Y/N).”
“(Y/N)...” He repeated in a low tone, thinking to himself.. “I like your name.” He gives them a small smile, trying to be reassuring at the least. He couldn’t help but feel guilty.. He had left behind such a selfless and caring person.. For what? Lifelong trauma and potential survivors guilt?
He can’t help but think of Kaede, and wonder if he would’ve felt different- if things would’ve been different- if he had remembered this person, and known he had someone so important waiting for him.
They let out  a small sniffle, which scares Shuichi slightly- had he done something wrong? “Ah- sorry!” They apologize, and despite the tears they’re wiping away, they’re smiling. “I just- that’s the same thing you had said when we first met, haha..”
“I-It’s okay!” Shuichi stutters, turning to them. “D-Don’t worry about it..” he trails off.
They take a second to recollect themself. “Is there anything you wanna know? About before you entered the game?” They ask, once they’ve calmed down enough and momentarily stopped their tears.
“..What was I like, before everything?” He asks. “What were… what were we like?”
They chuckle. “You were really sweet, and always nervous.. You got so nervous, you always asked me before you even held my hand or hugged me. You call me sweetheart and you were such a huge fan of murder mysteries, and detective stories..” They finally make  the will to make eye contact with Shuichi. “Not much changed. And I had given you that hat, and you always wore it.”
Shuichi watches them as they talk, and wonders how lucky he was that past him had scored some so.. Amazing. It’s almost a habit when he asks; “D-Do you mind if I hug you?” And for a second he doesn’t even realize what he said until they sniffle, on the verge of crying again.
“Y-Yeah.” They smile, and as Shuichi pulls them in albeit with hesitation, he can’t help but feel like he belonged in their arms. Warm and welcoming, as if despite how much time had passed and how everything had happened, they were still there and they still loved him, no matter what. The mind forgot, but the subconscious remembered.
“I-I was so scared..” They sniffle, face buried in the crux of his neck as he rests his hands on their back, allowing them to cry. “I-If you had died, in the game, e-even if I had known it was fictional, I don't know what I would’ve done.. I-I mean, I- just.. Everything.. You went through, and I-I felt so bad, g-god I spent ni-nights just..”
(Y/N) entirely melted in his arms, letting everything go and finally spilling about it all, the fear they had felt, how they spent more time than they’d admit to others just crying because of what had happened and how bad they felt, and all in the end..
“H-Hey, it’s okay..” Shuichi comforted, and this entire scenario felt out of character but somewhere he knew that this is what was meant to happen. That, even if he had forgotten, and everything had changed, here was someone who cared for him and loved him, and in the end no matter what happened that when it was over they would be there. “I-I’m here now, aren’t I-I, sweetheart..?”
 In his heart he was worried and wondering about everyone else in the game, those people who had suffered, that had died, that had survived, and the thought of if they’d still be the same or if anything had really changed lingered, but for a fleeting moment he didn’t mind staying right here.
It was grounding, in a world where it felt like he knew nothing and nowhere to go, where everything was wildly different from what he knew, to know someone was there, and that he was there for that someone, and that things would get better.

IDK IF YOU MEANT JUNKO IS HER GF AND BEST FRIEND BUT!!! Celeste/Kyoto friendship, they’re both man haters 💜 /j
I remember a game night thing back then, Clue reinvigorates Celeste’s interest in murder mysteries and she honestly impresses Kyoto when she tricks Togami into revealing his cards (mainly questioning his truthfulness/credibility)
After that, Kyoto and Celeste try to find videos, games, and books of murder mysteries to solve, but with Celeste able to figure out who’s lying and Kyoto’s detecting ability, they’re unstoppable. Junko likes to nitpick the murder mysteries too, even though she likely has no idea who the murderer is.
After a while of their regular things being too easy, one day they walk into the kitchen area to find Chihiro and Sonia (again no idea if this is in character but her cosplayers are always cute) putting some fake blood on Ibuki. Makoto is upsetting the area, like knocking over the knife holder and such. They’re super confused, until Makoto says (very unconvincingly) “:O someone killed Ibuki!!! you guys gotta figure it out”
That becomes the new regular thing, like every other week they make a new murder mystery for the two and they have to solve it (including the fact that some stuff will be inaccurate, and just how the group thinks it would happen). Peko isn’t that fond of it, but she’ll do it if Chihiro gives her the 🥺 look, and both Miu and Leon absolutely love the chance to play characters (I forgot her name but if Peko does it, Tsumugi/blue hair will do it too, she just prefers to be the victim) - queer eye anon
HDBSBSBS NO U WERE RIGHT I MEANT IT LIKE JUNKO’S HER GF AND KYOKO’S HER BEST FRIEND HDBSBSBD DON’T WORRY!!
and yes yes they are 😌
and also !! legit 👀 like. it pisses Togami off to no end (seriously, how did she do that?? how could he be tricked so easily???) but Kyoko’s like “,,,,,oh my god,,,,,,,,such manipulation,,,,,,,such incredible deductive skills,,,,,”
long story short kirigiri develops a squish (platonic equivalent of a crush) on this weird mean goth bitch and just starts hanging around her more often until eventually Celeste is like,,,,,,,,,fine, if I simply MUST adopt you as a best friend, I suppose I will, seeing as I have ABSOLUTELY NO CHOICE in the matter :)
so they start spending more time together, and Kyoko’s usually the one who’s like “hey I found another murder mystery thing we could try-” to which Celeste’s response tends to be more lighthearted “oh, very well, if I absolutely must-”
It’s incredible - no piece of mystery media stands a chance against them <3
also a little off topic and might be a bit ooc, but I think we should all consider buzzfeed unsolved!kyoko and Celeste because that just seems goddamn hilarious to me ndndbdbdbddbd
and BDBSB YEAH THEY’RE SO SWEET?? Makoto came up with the idea, but Sonia and Chihiro are absolutely essential to the operation as a whole.
Sonia’s interest in serial killers provides a necessary take for the psychological perspective of real life cases, so they know for certain it’ll be stimulating for the detective of the two, meanwhile Chihiro’s brainpower allows for both creative and logical placement of clues, red herrings, and more!
Plus, all three of them are absolute sweethearts that most people have trouble saying no to <3 (they’ve even gotten Byakuya to participate once or twice! Celeste and Kirigiri were both delighted and bewildered!)
THEY ALSO GET OUMA INVOLVED BECAUSE HE’S THE ONLY ONE THAT EVER GIVES CELESTE ANY TROUBLE IN DECIPHERING LIES FHSBSBDBSBS (she usually gets it right on account of her own luck, and if she gets it wrong, It tends to be either salvageable or ambiguous enough that she can pretend she was right and nobody can tell they were ever on the wrong track)
Miu pretends like she needs fujisaki, nevermind, and naegi to beg her for her participation, but she’s honestly more than willing because!!! She gets to yell and be loud and have fun and play weirdos!!!! And sometimes she even invents new things for practical effects, just ‘cause she can! And she knows it makes her friends happy!
Leon’s a pretty good actor until Celeste stares him down - then he immediately either loses his nerve or fucks something up ❤️
and dhsbsbdbsbdb Peko!!!! Peko and Fuyuhiko get involved because a) chihiro gave them both the 🥺 face, as you said, and b) fuyuhiko,,,,,,,thinks the concept,,,,,,,,is fun,,,,,,,👉👈 but shut up he’d never admit that!!!
Tsumugi makes costumes!!!! And totally loses herself in the roles!!! She gives the BEST performances, and Celeste and Kyoko are often left sitting there like “wow ok” because hdbdbdvdvdvdvdvddv????
They get Nagito involved a lot, both due to his luck and the fact that he’s very easy to convince (and often comes up with more cool ideas for the scene of the crime/evidence/general concepts!) though, if he’s involved, then Hajime needs to be as well, becauee everyone can only take maeda’s self-deprecating bullshit for so long until they need someone to shut him up hdbdbdbdb
Hiyoko acts like she thinks it’s dumb, but actually really wants to be included 🥺 👉👈 so mahiru takes it upon herself to “force” her into helping
Sakura and Hina love to help however they can! :D I don’t rlly have anything specific for them, I simply think they’re very cool and would be very eager to help because they love their friends <3
Sayaka is INCREDIBLE when it comes to thinking up “murder” plots! Motives, manipulation, the likelihood of certain actions being taken.....+ due to her high intuition, she’s able to discern what types of things kyoko and celeste prefer during their little games! She also provides insight into emotional response for the actors, which helps to make it a lot more immersive!
Mikan gets very very very nervous as a performer and is usually very unreliable in that aspect, but she gives pointers on whether or not certain wounds would be enough to kill a person! She also provides emphasis on vital organs and helps with anatomical accuracy!
Gundham adores being able to give monologues, and the three in charge of everything do their best to give him macabre, weird roles so he can speak and confuse the two girls to his heart’s content ❤️
if they ever need to talk to chiaki during an investigation, they usually need to wake her up, or get her to stop playing a video game (which she’s not supposed to be playing!!!!) in order to interrogate her (she also forgets a lot of the details and evidence she’s supposed to give them shdbsndbsnsb)
she also likes to give chihiro ideas for plots and things, though mostly uses her games as inspiration !
Shuichi and kyoko are friends so he’s like “yyyeah okay I’ll do it” and so by the same token, Kaede is automatically (and emphatically!) involved as well
Kirumi gets involved because if it’s a request, she’ll do it 💛 plus she kinda loves being involved with this stuff ngl jsnsbsn meanwhile ryoma is like this is dumb but if it’ll make u guys happy then I guess I have no choice
Maki’s pretty difficult to convince, ngl, but if kaito pesters her enough, she might drop by to give her two cents on some of the most plausible and effective methods of getting rid of evidence, as well as what she would do if she were in the position of the murderer (makoto and co. are like wow maki thank u very cool we are absolutely terrified)
shinguji makes it a point in the anthology to embarrass himself at the drop of a hat for his friends’ benefits regarding things like this, so they’re obviously in hbdbdbd plus they love being able to study kyoko and celeste’s behavior while working on each “case,” because without a doubt they are two of the most interesting specimens of human thought patterns and processes he’s ever SEEN <3
since it’s for the sake of two girls, Tenko’s very excited to do whatever Sonia or Chihiro asks of her (she’ll do things that Makoto asks, too, but it takes some convincing....) and Himiko.....isn’t a particularly convincing liar to begin with, but her experience with stage trickery comes in handy pretty often! (though they have to practically drag the information out of her shdbsndn)
Angie agrees to participate on the grounds that all of her characters get to bring up and endorse Atua. she gets picked for murder victim quite a lot bsbssbdb
also highkey 👀 the canon cases get re-enacted at some point (for the first game’s third case, they actually let Celeste be in on it as a little treat for Kyoko! it was absolutely bonkers and they both had literally so much fun!!!)

kinda hard to explain this one honestly. and I literally dont know what the transitions are through this story. like, I try to go back in time a little bit, but it just looks weird so please if this looks weird, dont judge me-. i'll be honest with you guys here, i dont really like the way this one turned out, but maybe you guys will, so dont be discouraged to read it by me! here's the prompt, and the creator is @write-it-motherfuckers. stay safe, kith 😙💖💕
Kokichi teases y/n about confessing until they do
Lately Ouma had been teasing you to no end. Anytime you're even close to him, he'll walk over and begin teasing you.
"Hey, Y/n-san! Who do you liiike?"
"Nobody, Ouma-kun, I've said this before."
"Awwwh, that's too bad. I totally coulda hooked you up!"
"Sure, Ouma-kun."
Everyone had always found Ouma annoying, but you actually found him quite interesting. Of course he was still irritating at times, but you preferred to look over that and try to see if you could break his emotional mask.
Over time you seemed to be the only one close to Ouma. Your peers always strayed away. Well maybe except for Saihara sometimes, but those interactions were usually initiated by Ouma.
You two were practically joined at the hip. Ouma mainly following you, but you wouldn't hesitate to find him if you were bored or needed someone to talk to.
It had been about three months of school and you two were known in your class as the top couple.
There's actually a top five chart in your class. #1 goes to you and Ouma, #2 is Kaito and Maki, #3 is Saihara and Akamatsu, #4 is Tenko and Himiko, and #5 is Kiibo and Miu.
Your class is.. awfully strange.
You had always brushed the chart off, just wanting to pay attention to your studies and how you could break the leader's mask.
But Ouma tried to use it against you.
"Y/n-san, look! We're the number one couple!"
"Ouma-kun, we're not even dating."
"Maybe we can change that.."
You were only caught off guard the first few times he did it, now you only scoff and blush slightly.
The closest you've ever seen Ouma to breaking was when someone showed him general genuine affection and when people would call him out on a well hidden lie.
You found these out through your friendship. You being you, you did it on accident the first few times, but after realizing it, you would study it and try to use it against him.
"Ouma-kun, come here."
"Yeeeess?"
You stretch out your arms, clearly stating what you want.
Ouma seems to get tense for a second, his facial expression a slight look of surprise, but changes quickly to a smile.
Ouma jumps into your arms and somehow manages to get his legs around your waist so your carrying him.
He takes his head off your shoulder to look at you.
"Nihihi..~ are you sure we're not a couple, Y/n-san?"
You could see some blush on his face with how close you two were.
"Ouma-kun, are you blushing?"
Again his face shows surprise, quickly going back to normal.
"Y/n-san, just answer the question!"
"Yeah Ouma-kun, I'm sure."
"Awwwh! And here I was hoping you'd kiss me."
Your face flushes red as he jumps from your arms and runs off like nothing just happened.
That was awhile ago. Now you usually end up just carrying Ouma, him even coming to you when he claims hes tired.
Now you had been in school for about 6 months and you were getting stressed.
All this time you were trying to break the Ultimate Supreme Leader's mask, yet you seemed to be breaking yourself.
You had never really known someone so strange and so normally unlikable.
And yet you seemed to be slowly falling in love with the Ultimate Supreme Leader, Kokichi Ouma.
You decide to tell him at lunch that day.
You grab your lunch from your locker and begin walking down the halls. Surprisingly, Shinguuji calls your name as your walking.
"Good evening, y/n-San. How are you?"
"I'm doing pretty good actually. I was just on my way to lunch. Did you need something?"
"Ah, yes, I noticed how close you and Ouma-kun were and I was wondering if you perhaps had romantic feelings for him. I pay no regards to that silly chart our peers have made. This is from my own studies."
While Shinguuji was trying to explain his reasoning behind his prediction, your face lit up like a christmas light.
Was it actually obvious?
You had no time to dwell on that now.
"Y-yeah.. I think I do like him, but I have to go now! Dont want my lunch to get cold! Bye Shinguuji-kun!"
You run off hoping Shinguuji wont be mad since you just kinda left. You get to the lunch room and see Ouma sitting at his usual table alone. Like usual.
You sit down and a smile appears on his once bored face.
"Y/n-San! You're late, what happened?"
"Oh, Shinguuji-kun wanted to talk to me. I tried to get here as quick as possible so I had to run away. I really hope I didnt make him mad."
"What'd he want?"
You remember what Shinguuji asked you and you feel your face heat up. But you quickly get yourself together so you can get these feelings off your chest.
"I have to tell you something."
"Oooh~ are you about to profess your undying love for me, y/n-san?"
"Yes, I am."
"....What?"
You confess to Ouma, all the while, looking down. When you finish, you look up and see that Ouma's face is mostly unreadable except for the harsh blush on it.
Had you finally broken the leader and his mask?
"Holy crap y/n, did you break him!?"
Kaito seemed to take notice of Ouma's state and made you two the center of attention.
"Hey guys look! Y/n broke Ouma!"
Suddenly, a somewhat surprising amount of your classmates gather around your table.
"Ah, so it is true that you have romantic feelings for Ouma-kun."
That was the last thing you heard before you felt someone drag you off.
"Ouma-kun?"
"Nihihi~ You cant just confess to me and not expect attention from those idiots y/n-San! Now..."
Ouma suddenly stops and grabs you by the shoulders.
He pulls you close and softly kisses you. Ouma pulls back after a few seconds and grins.
"Nihihi~ look at you y/n-san! You're all red! *Gasp* Does this mean we're dating now!? Are we, are we!?"
You stood there in shock for a second. You honestly got lost in thought for a second. But you regain your thoughts again and look down at Ouma.
You kiss Ouma on the cheek before smiling at him softly.
"Yeah Ouma-kun. If you're sure."
"O-of course! Nihihihi~"

Hi, if you still want writing requests, a Danganronpa idea would be Himiko's magic going awry and making Maki swap bodies with Miu for a day.
Thank you for requesting! I hope you like it!
~~~
It started as a good day, it really did.
Maki sat at a bench, Himiko was showing off her magic to Tenko and Angie across the path, and Miu was talking to Kaede by the stairs. It was one of the only times she let herself lower her guard.
Never again.
“And for my next trick,” Himiko said. “I will make Miu and Maki switch places!”
Maki stirred only a little at the mention of her name, but she kept watching the clouds. It was likely going to be a warm training session that night.
Himiko spun her stave, a dark red glow appeared on one side and a pink one on the other. She twirled it faster as the two lights snaked down to the other ends.
She excitedly looked over to them, only to be met with disappointment. Maki was still on the bench and Miu was still by the stairs, though she stumbled some, holding onto Kaede so she wouldn’t fall over.
“Nyeh…”
“It’s alright, Himiko! It still looked cool!” Tenko tried to reassure her.
“I’m sure you’ll get it next time!”
“Hey, what just happened?” Maki walked over to them.
“I tried to make you and Miu switch places, but-” She tried to explain but quickly got cut off.
“What are you, a dumbass?”
“Maki!” Tenko stood up. “That’s really rude!”
“Are you blind? I’m not Maki.” Not Maki said.
“What’s going on?” Miu said coldly as she and Kaede approached them.
“What the fuck?!” Not Maki exclaimed.
“Himiko, I think your spell did really work!”
“Nyahahaha!” Angie laughed. “Good job, Himiko! God smiles upon you!”
“What the fuck did you do?” Not Maki asked.
“Well I tried to cast a spell to switch Miu’s and Maki’s places, but if Tenko’s right, then I guess it didn’t switch you physically.”
“If you’re going to use me in one of your shows, at least ask first.” Maki- real Maki- said, venom in her voice.
“So you can fix this, right?” Kaede asked.
Himiko nodded and spun the stave. It started glowing again, though the lights didn't move.
“Enough with your shitty glowstick, I don’t want to be stuck as this flat fuck.”
“Do you want to die?” Maki looked at her. Even if she wasn’t in her body she’s scary as hell.
Himiko tried to block out the talking. If she strained her eyes she could see the lights moving towards the other ends at a snail’s pace. She stopped spinning it and examined them. Even though she stopped she could still see the light moving down at an agonizingly slow speed.
“What’s wrong, Himiko?” Tenko asked.
“Nyeh…” She shuddered and looked at Maki to read her expression. There were none. “I have good news and bad news.” She shrank in on herself a little. “I can’t undo it right now, b-but it’s temporary.”
“Fucking dumbass! Try harder!” Miu reached out to grab the stave.
“Nyeh! Stop! You might make it worse!”
“Nothing could be w-aaa!” Maki grabbed her by the pigtails and yanked her back.
“When are we going to be back to normal?”
“When the two lights reach the other side.” She pointed at the stave.
Maki hummed. “How long do you think it’ll take?”
Himiko looked at it in thought. “At the rate it’s going, maybe about a day?”
“Maki-Roll!” Kaito ran up with Shuichi not far behind him.
“Great…” Maki muttered.
He wrapped Miu in a bear hug. She panicked and…
“Ow!” … she kneed him. “Maki-Roll why’d you do that?”
“Because that’s Miu. I’m Maki.”
The two look confused. Like they were doing a hundred calculations at once in their heads.
“Himiko fucked up her spell.” Miu said.
“It’s temporary!”
It was quiet for a minute before Kaito spoke up again. “So are you still on for training tonight?”
“Training, huh? What kind of training do you do together late at night, huh?”
“Me and Shuichi exercise. Kaito mostly just sits there.”
“Hey!”
“Riiiiight. Well whatever it is, leave me and my body out of it.”
“It’s probably for the best. It’s going to be warm tonight and I’m not in the mood to listen to Kaito whining. And…” She looked down at ‘herself’. “I’m not quite used to training in these conditions.”
Miu snickered some before coming to a realization.
“Miu what are you thinking?” Shuichi asked, though he had a pretty good idea of the answer.
“Why don’t you try some training with me? I’ve always wanted to know if I’m good in bed.”
“Do you want to die?”
“Oh come on, it felt so nice when you pulled my hair.”
Maki stared daggers into her.
“What, you got nothing?”
“I’d strangle you but you’d like it too much.”
“Now, now, we should not resort to violence. As long as we have God on our side all will be well!”
“Right! Besides, it could be worse. You might’ve switched with a degenerate man.”
Maki sighed. She was right, there were worse people but Miu wasn’t a great option to be the one piloting her body.
“Don’t think I’m happy to be in this situation either. I want to be back in my own gorgeous body.”
“This is so weird.” Kaito whispered to Shuichi.
“Nehehe~! What do we have here?” Kokichi strolled over.
“Not now, Kokichi.” They told him.
“Just go away, we’re busy right now and the last thing we need is a little shit fucking around.” Miu said.
“No I…” He paused. “Maki, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you swear before.”
“Do you want to tell him?” Kaito whispered.
“Tell me whaaaat?”
“No, he can figure it out on his own.” Maki said.
“Come on, Miu. A dumb slut shouldn’t be-” Before he can finish Maki grabs him by the neck. “Hey,” He stammered, “I’m not into that. Or you.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“What, dumb or slut?”
“Both.”
“Why~? They fit you so-” She tightened her grip.
“Maki-Roll, calm down you might actually kill him!”
“Maki?” Kokichi asked with strained breaths.
She dropped him. “Yeah. Maki, and never call me a dumb slut again.” She leaned down to his eye level.
“It’s kinda hard to take you seriously when you look like this.”
“Maybe you’ll take this seriously.” She grabbed his scarf and headbutted him, the goggles left marks on his forehead.
“Damn, don’t break my shit!” She looked at the goggles. When she saw that they’re unbroken she nodded before breaking out into laughter. “You got him pretty good. Serves you right you little bitch.”
“So,” Kokichi sat up. “Maki is Miu and Miu is Maki. What. The fuck.”
“It’s magic!” Himiko said.
Maki sighed. “I’m going to go lay down.” She grabbed her key off of Miu and headed off to the dorm.
“See you, Maki-Roll!”
“Hey Miu,” Shuichi said. “Did Maki give you your key?”
She thought for a moment. “She has my fucking key!” Miu ran after Maki.
“No matter what she looks like, she’s a dumb bitch.”
“Hey!” Miu yelled as she reached Maki. “Give me my key.”
“Right.” She paused. “Where do you keep it?” She dreaded the answer.
Miu reached down into her shirt and took out her key. Maki looked at the shirt.
“How do you keep it in there? I could hardly feel it.”
“An inner shirt pocket. With it you can sexily and comfortably store things in your cleavage.”
Maki thought for a moment. “That’s pretty clever.”
“Huh?! I mean… of course it is! I thought of it.”
“You can’t even see the stitches. This could’ve been pretty useful in my missions.”
“I’m gonna take that as a good thing!”
“Yeah. Honestly your inventions don’t really make sense to me but they do tend to be pretty good, when it isn’t used for sexual purposes.”
“My inventions are always incredible!”
“I feel like the underwear remover is a bit unnecessary.”
“Everything I make is entirely necessary!”
“Ah! Maki!” They saw Tsumugi running toward them. “Maki, I have a photoshoot, do you have a weapon I could use?”
“Are you planning to use a real weapon for a photoshoot?”
“No! No! Of course not. I just wanna be as authentic as possible so I’m gonna use it as a reference point. So can I?”
“No.”
“Huh? But I’m asking Maki-”
“Alright, here's what’s happening, Four Eyes. Himihoe fucked up her spell and now I’m Maki and she’s me.”
She stood for a moment then gasped. “This is like something straight out of an anime! How do you reverse it? A special item? Words of true caring? A kiss?”
“Himiko said it would likely take roughly a day.”
“Of course! A timer. In most anime the pair have to pretend to be each other, leading to weird situations that some find hard to watch, but instead of that you two hardly have any hesitance telling me. Though even if you did try to act as each other it’d still be plainly obvious, no offense.”
“Right.” Maki said. “I’m going to bed.” With that she continued to the dorms.
Kirumi was cleaning in there and looked over when she entered.
“Ah, Miu, you look tired. Is there anything I can do for you?”
“No.” She went over to her dorm and Kirumi gave her a strange look.
“You do know that is Maki’s room, right?”
“I know who’s room it is.” She didn’t look back at Kirumi before she went in and closed the door. She fumbled taking off the boots and laid down. She wasn’t even going to bother with anything else.
“Strange.” Kirumi muttered to herself.
It felt like an eternity. She stared at the ceiling, just thinking, until there was a knock at the door. It was Miu. She looked behind her, noticing that Kirumi was no longer there and it was dark out.
“What is it.”
“Well, I was hoping you’d let me stay in here… with you?”
“Why?”
“What does that matter?”
“It matters a lot if you want to sleep in my room.”
“Well if you really care that much… being in my room when I look like this upsets me.”
“It upsets you to be in your room when you look like me.”
“Well…” She fidgeted. “I base a lot of myself and my life on how I look, and my room is a reminder that I’m no longer that.”
Maki wasn’t expecting that. She wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but it wasn’t that.
“Fine. I’m going to need help taking these belts off anyway.”
“Oh you wanna undress me~?”
“I can’t sleep with them on.”
“Really? You slept just fine when Kaito came by to get you. Had to be physically restrained to stop pushing the fucking button.”
“I didn’t realize I went to sleep.”
“Well you did. Wow, your room is pretty empty.”
“I don’t keep many things. Not where I live.”
“Right, your assassin thing. Have you ever seduced your mark?”
“No.”
“Well of course, no one could have my sex appeal.”
“Miu. Miu we are teenagers.”
“What of it?”
Maki threw a pillow at her. “Just go to sleep.”
The night was uneventful. Miu had some trouble adjusting to the pigtails but when she did she fell asleep quickly.
When Maki woke up, she found she was on the other side of the bed when she tried to get up. She looked over and saw Miu. Miu as Miu.
“Hey, get up.”
“Huh? What the fuck do you want?”
“For you to go back to your own room. We’re back to normal.”
She grumbled some. “Fine.” She dramatically got up, grabbed her key and boots and headed out the door, though she paused in the doorway. “Hey Maki? Thank you for letting me stay over.”
“Yeah.”
“I mean it.” Maki smiled, though she had her back to Miu so she couldn’t see. “You can be the first to test my next invention!”
“That’s unnecessary.”
Hinanami is basically the bland, white-bread version of Naegiri... and so much worse. They really tried to do the whole "put the protagonist with the emotionless stoic girl" but did a terrible job
They didn’t even try to do that, though. The fans did. Chiaki and Hajime don’t have a single real conversation the entire game. He’s not her friend. He doesn’t care about her. Aside from trials and investigations, where they’re focused on solving a murder and they talk to everyone in equal measure, they never speak to each other. Nekomaru spends more time with Hajime than Chiaki does. Hinanami is not canon. Never once in the game is Chiaki implied to mean anything to Hajime at all. He never talks to her. They’re not even friends. It’s the fans who started shipping them and acting like they were best friends. Because Chiaki was a fan-favorite, and fan-favs always get shipped with protags (Ex: Rantaro and Shuichi, who haven’t had a single conversation). Chiaki was supposed to be a fan-fav. She was supposed to be Waifu-bait. But then the cash-grab shitty spinoff anime happened, and they saw how much the fans like Chiaki, so they shipped her with Hajime in the anime. But in the games? Hinanami isn’t even close to canon. Hajime spends more time with literally everyone else except maybe Peko and Hiyoko? He and Chiaki do not have a single authentic conversation.
I made a whole thesis about this. I wrote a whole god damn paper about how Hinanami isn’t canon. It’s somewhere on this blog if you dig. It’s NOT canon. People only assume that it’s canon because of the anime, which came after the games. And if you think the anime is canon? Well, I’ve got a surprise for you. The anime completely goes against the game canon of everything to do with Despair’s founding, the Kamukura Project, and Junko/Mukuro in general. The anime says Chiaki was a real student at Hope’s Peak, but the game? In the game, both Chiaki and Alter Ego say straight up that she never existed outside the Neo World Program. She wasn’t a real person. The anime isn’t canon. The anime was nothing but fan-service. A cash grab. Completely and utter shit. Would you say the How To Train Your Dragon TV show is more canon than the movies? Fuck no! Same with the anime. The games are canon, not the anime. If Hinanami happened in the animes, it doesn’t fucking matter, because Chiaki didn’t even actually exist in the games.
Point is, people only assume Hinanami is canon because of the anime. But in the game, there’s nothing to imply that they’re a couple, or even friends. Let’s take a look at DR couples, shall we? There’s three types of DR relationships. We’ll take a brief look into each.
1. Chapter One Love Interest (AKA: The Red Herring)
You’re probably familiar with this one. It’s the ‘tutorial girl’. You meet them first. They become the protag’s best friend. The MC trusts them. They show the MC around, they get introduced to everyone together, and basically you spend the whole prologue and Chapter 1 getting close to them. You’re supposed to think ‘Oh, they’ll escape with the MC and be their love interest in the end’ even though it’s totally predictable that they end up dying. They end up dying in the first trial because they betrayed the MC by getting involved with a, unsuccessful murder somehow. This was Sayaka and Kaede. (I already went over on this blog why Kaede was a red herring, not a protag. She was only ‘protag’ to avoid people predicting that she would die in chapter 1 like all the other ch 1 friends.) Sayaka is friends with Makoto but ends up trying to kill Leon and getting murdered. Kaede is friends with Shuichi but ends up being executed for trying to kill Rantaro.
What about Chiaki? Does she fit any of that? Fucking no she doesn’t. After her introduction, Hajime ignores her for all of Chapter 1. And ch 2, ch 3, ch 4, ch 5, etc etc... But anyway. She’s not his best friend in Ch 1. They don’t talk. She doesn’t get involved in an unsuccessful murder in Ch 1. Who’s Hajime’s friend then? Who shows him around? Who does he trust who ends up betraying him by getting involved in unsuccessful murder during the first trial? Oh yeah-- Nagito. He would’ve died if it wasn’t for his luck saving him. He was supposed to die in his murder, or be executed. But his luck got in the way. Nagito was the chapter 1 love interest. He literally follows the same exact beats as Kaede and Sayaka. But uhhh...Sayaka and Kaede are totally valid love interests, but Nagito isn’t! Why? (Hint: It’s because he’s gay and has a mental illness.)
2. Plot Twist Love Interest (AKA: The Shady One)
This love interest comes on after the Red Herring love interest dies in chapter 1. This love interest starts off as being someone that you don’t trust, who avoids you, who acts super shady and suspicious the whole time. They hide things, act cryptic in trials, and know way more than they let on. They act rude sometimes, but also nice and helpful sometimes, to the protag so that MC has no idea how this person feels about them. The MC is curious, but also wary of them. This person ends up disappearing towards the end of the game so that MC doesn’t have access to them anymore. We lose the option for their free-time events at some point. This person disappears because they’re hell-bent on figuring out the mystery behind the killing game. They end up getting involved in some kind of plot to reveal the truth/mastermind/traitor and then it fails, resulting in their death or the death of someone else. This person gets falsely accused of being the mastermind by the rest of the cast. This describes, to a tee, Kyoko. People acknowledge Kyoko as Makoto’s love interest (because she’s a girl!). But this describes Kokichi too. The role that Kokichi and Kyoko play is the exact same in the story. Now, I don’t think that Shuichi was at all in love with Kokichi, but I think Kokichi had a crush on him. (This is why I make a case that Byakuya shouldn’t be in the ‘unholy trinity’. Kyoko should. Byakuya hits none of the plot requirements for that. He’s just a dick. Also, by all rights, Shuichi’s second love interest probably should’ve been Maki. She was shady enough, and he actually had a chance to like her. But fuck that. They did NOT go that route. Abusive comphet KaiMaki all the way, right?)
Anyway, let’s look at Chiaki for this one, shall we? Suspicious? Well, I knew from Ch 1 investigation that she was the traitor, but no one else did. No one in the cast suspects her of a thing the entire time. They’re completely flabbergasted when she hints that she’s the traitor. They all think she’s perfect. No one ever suspects her of a thing. She doesn’t disappear mysteriously. We don’t lose access to her free-time events. She doesn’t look into the mysteries behind the killing game (because she already knew them). She may help in trials, but she’s not cryptic or mysterious about it. She acts super mega ultra fucking rude the MC, but he doesn’t care, and he’s never torn up in puzzlement over “how she really feels about him” the way that Makoto and Shuichi get frustrated with Kyoko and Kokichi. She doesn’t hatch any plot to try and expose the truth. She does everything she can to cover up the truth until Nagito forces it. Which brings me to my next point. Who does this actually describe? Oh-- Wait! It’s Nagito again!! He follows, line for line, the exact same plot that Kyoko does, and so does Kokichi. So...Why is Kyoko the only one who gets to be a love interest instead of a villain? (Hint: Because Nagito and Kokichi are gay and you could argue that both have mental illnesses.)
The only part of this that Chiaki actually fits is the “knows more than everyone else”. But she doesn’t actually. She doesn’t figure it out because she’s smart, like the other three characters. She knows already because she’s the traitor. She knows more in the way that Sakura, Tsumugi, and Mukuro “knew more”. They were given that information. They are not love interests. And yeah, Chiaki uh...’gets involved’ in a scheme to find out the truth. But not of her own plotting or fruition. It’s Nagito’s plan, and she gets involved because he planned it. In the same way that Makoto ended up taking the fall for Kyoko’s botched first attempt at revealing the truth, too. Makoto, Chiaki, and Kaito took the fall for those plans. They weren’t the cause of them. Makoto only didn’t die because his luck (+ Alter Ego) saved him, just like Nagito’s saved him in ch1.
3. Side-Character Relationships
This is the last and third type of DR relationship. The love between side characters, like Taka & Mondo, Tenko towards Himiko, K1-B0 & Miu, Sakura & Aoi, Kaito & Maki. Honestly, you can’t even compare Hinanami to this logic, because Hajime is an MC. But let’s be generous and do it anyway.
These couples are always super obvious. Since you can’t see them through the eyes of the MC all the time, they’re even more obvious than MC ships. Side-characters in love spend tons of time together outside of trials and investigations. They’re with each other in their free time. They talk about each other all the time. They’re always together. They talk openly about their ‘friendship’ and how much they mean to each other. We get cutscenes showing the love between the two. Even in KaiMaki, which I hate, all of this is present.
What about Chiaki? Nah. She never talks about Hajime, and Hajime never talks about her. He never even thinks about her at all. He never seeks her out. They never ever have a single conversation in their free time. Unless you, the player, chose to do her free time events, they never talk outside of trials. They don’t seek each other out. They don’t spend any of their free time together. They don’t talk about how much they’re friends or lovers. They’re never together. They only get 2 cutscenes when they’re alone together: one of which is investigating Nagito’s room and revealing a major hint that Chiaki is a robot; the second of which is after she dies, wrapping up the plot that she is, in fact, a robot. These cutscenes don’t serve to show how much they care about each other. These cutscenes aren’t about Hajime at all. He might as well not even be there. It’s not like they have meaningful conversations. It’s just about finishing off Chiaki’s boring story, because it’s required. Compare: Taka & Mondo, whose cutscene is them fucking in the sauna. K1-B0 and Miu, whose cutscene is them fucking in Miu’s lab. Hina and Sakura, whose cutscene is Sakura telling Hina that she loves her. Kaito and Maki, whose cutscenes are them hugging and spending time together bonding over mutual interests. Chiaki’s seem pretty fucking stale compared to those, right? Yeah, because her only cutscenes are about bare-bones investigation and trial shit. Lots of people get investigation cutscenes. Doesn’t make them love interests. Chiaki and Hajime never spend free time together. They never seek each other out, have real conversations, or bond over mutual interests. They only talk during trials and investigations. Let me say this again, because I cannot emphasize it enough: HAJIME DOES NOT EVEN EVER THINK ABOUT HER.
4. Elements of Any and All DR Relationships
Now, there are elements of relationships that all DR ships have, regardless of if they involve the MC or not. The two characters spend free time together, outside of investigations and trials. The two characters have plot-related interactions outside of trials and investigations. (This is especially true in cases with the MC. Think how many plot-related scenes we got with Kaede + Shuichi, Sayaka + Makoto, Kyoko + Makoto that happened outside of trials and investigations?) These two characters have at least one heartfelt cutscene alone together. Like I mentioned above, they talk all the time. They think about each other. They talk about each other. Someone always makes a joke about the MC being in love with them.
Like I already pointed out, Chiaki has none of this. She and Hajime spend exactly 0 free-time together, unless the player forces it to happen themselves. They don’t talk. They don’t have plot-related cutscenes, discussions, storylines, etc outside of trials/investigations. They never speak to each other outside of trials/investigations. They don’t spend time together. They don’t have plots involving each other. They don’t seek each other out. They don’t talk to each other. They don’t even think about each other. And absolutely no one in the cast makes a joke about Hajime and Chiaki getting together. Fun fact: Kazuichi makes more moves toward/thinks more about getting with Chiaki in one scene than Hajime does in the entire game. Another Fun Fact: Nekomaru spends more one-on-one time with Hajime than Chiaki does. Where’s my die-hard fans insisting that Nekomaru x Hajime is indisputably canon?
Who has all of the above criteria? Mikan. Mikan does. She’s infinitely more of a love-interest to Hajime than Chiaki.
Now I’m gonna go over some popular arguments I see for why Chiaki is a love interest, and I’m gonna destroy them.
“She’s The Helper Character.” That character doesn’t exist. That’s a fucking lie. Literally everyone talks in trials. Everyone helps in trials. Everyone helps in investigations. There is no singular ‘helper’ character. There’s no assistant. There’s no side-kick. Kaito helps Shuichi in trials. Maki does too. Are they his love interests? Byakuya helps in trials. He’s not Makoto’s love interest. Nagito helps in trials and people are pretty fucking insistent that he’s not Hajime’s love interest. Everyone helps in trials. In a trial/investigation, the MC has to talk to literally everyone. They have no choice. The fact that Hajime talks to Chiaki in an investigation, or listens to her in a trial, is not evidence of him favoring her. Chiaki talking so much in trials and investigations is supposed to be dropping hints at her being the traitor. Not her being a “helper” to Hajime.
“What About The Swimsuit Scene?” “Hajime was totally drooling over Chiaki in that scene!” Yeah, he was. Because he’s a teenage boy and she was wearing a super slutty bikini. Literally everyone, boy and girl, in that scene looked at Chiaki and went “Jeez Chiaki...That’s a...bold swimsuit.” She wore a skimpy swimsuit and Hajime thought it was hot. So did Kazuichi. Kazuichi drooled over her WAY more than Hajime. Is Kazuichi automatically Chiaki’s love interest? Hajime also drooled over Peko when she walked in. Because he’s a teenage boy, and there’s hot girls in skimpy bathing suits. Also, Hajime talks nonstop through the entire fucking game about how hot and beautiful and amazing Sonia is. And he never once even has a thought about Chiaki. But uh...Nah, Sonia’s not his love interest. It’s totally Chiaki, right?
“The ‘I’m Taking My Top Off’ Comment.” Yeah, Chiaki said that to Hajime. And Hajime freaked the fuck out. He didn’t want it to happen. He was like “WAIT WHAT!?” He wasn’t “oh fuck yeah, let me see those gamer titties!” Maybe Chiaki was flirting with him, but Hajime definitely didn’t flirt back. At the very least, it shows that he wasn’t expecting it, because he never thinks of her that way. Hajime didn’t respond to that line at all. Also, the only reason Chiaki even said that in the first place is because she was made to be fap-material for Otaku Gamer Bros. So of course they’re going to make her talk about her boobs, give her a slutty swimsuit, and make her boobs three sizes bigger when she wears it. (It’s true! I checked! Also, does this mean that Chiaki is a closet sex freak? Yikes...Well, it’s more interesting than everything else she’s got going on.) Point being, when she brought it up (and she was joking, for a reminder. She wasn’t serious.), Hajime didn’t want anything to do with it.
“Junko blackmails them about ‘The Girl You Love’.” Yeah, okay, I’ve never actually seen people make this argument. And I better never fucking see that. Because it’s so god damn obvious, and stupid. Junko’s lines are basically “you need to hurry up and make a decision, because the bodies of the girl you love and the boy you hate are in the real world wasting away.” She is talking to everyone, but specifically, she’d just been goading Fuyuhiko on about Peko. This line. Is clearly. About Peko. It’s about Peko. It’s not fucking about Chiaki. And I better never see anyone claim this. Why not? Why can’t it be about Chiaki? SHE’S NOT FUCKING REAL!!! She doesn’t have a body! She’s not wasting away! She has no body outside the Neo World Program! This line literally cannot be about her. Even if you go by the anime and say she did exist, she’s still fucking dead, and still doesn’t have a body to waste away in the first place. Chiaki and Alter Ego BOTH say that she doesn’t exist outside the Neo World Program!!!
“Then Why Did She Appear to Hajime in the Last Trial?” Because of plot convenience. That’s all. See, we’re not supposed to know she’s an AI. (Even though it’s incredibly obvious). When she is executed, we’re not supposed to know that she’s an AI programmed by the Future Foundation. We’re supposed to be like “Why did she do that? Why did she say all those weird things? Why was she the traitor?” We’re supposed to have all these unanswered questions. (I mean, I already knew all of that from ch 1, but the game clearly tries to keep you from suspecting Chiaki at all.) So, if she’s dead and executed, how can we finish her story? How are we going to get a chance to wrap up all those unanswered questions? She appears to Hajime and tells him. She reveals it all to him, answers all the viewer’s questions, and finishes her story. That’s it. She appears to him out of convenience to finishing her own plot. Why him? Why him specifically? Is it because they’re in love? Nah bitch, it’s because he’s the main character and the only way the audience could see their questions answered at all is if she appeared to him. She also appeared to Sonia, as Sonia specifically states. Is Sonia her canonical, definite, not-possibly-arguable love interest? No. Sonia’s love interest is Gundham. If seeing Chiaki had something to do with love, then why did she see her too?
“But Her Free Time Events End With Them In Love.” Yeah, so does everyone else’s. Nagito’s, Akane’s, Kazuichi’s, Mikan’s...Sayaka’s, Toko’s, Kyoko’s...Kokichi’s, Kaito’s...Everyone’s free time events end with them falling in love with the MC. That’s the point of FTEs. That’s the reason why no actual ships are explicitly canon in any DR games. Because they want the player to have the chance to get close to, and pursue a relationship with, whatever characters they choose. That can’t work if that character is dating someone. So they make all FTEs end in love confessions, and they let no ships become canon. You can choose literally any character, go through their free time events, and have them fall in love with you. It’s for the player. It’s not canon. And sure, those FTEs might not specifically end in an outright love confession (like Nagito’s does), but it’s pretty fucking obvious in every single one that you win them over and fall in love. Why do you think you get their underwear? Even Toko, canonically smitten with Byakuya, goes “I’m already in love with master, but...” Sideways glance, smile, “You can think of me if you want...” It exists for the player, and can be done with ANY character. It doesn’t speak to any special privilege for Chiaki.
And just a couple more things I have to say on this topic:
Hajime didn’t like her. Hajime doesn’t fucking like Chiaki. I’m not gonna say that he hates her, but he definitely doesn’t like her. Whenever he has to talk to her, he’s always thinking about how weird she is, how childish she’s being, and how rude she is for talking over him/falling asleep when he talks. He doesn’t enjoy talking to her. I did Chiaki’s first two FTES, and Hajime hated every god damn second of them. He thinks she’s rude, boring, weird, and childish. He thinks about that stuff any time he’s forced to talk to her. When he finds her diary, he goes “God, this is awful, it’s like a five-year-old wrote it.” Why would you think that he likes her??? (You know who Hajime really fucking despises? Gundham. God, talk to Gundham and read Hajime’s thoughts. He’s fucking brutal. This guy has a huge beef...)
So Who’s Hajime’s Actual Love Interest?
Everybody!!! This is actually a theory I cooked up. I think each MC gets a ch 1 love interest (Sayaka, Nagito, Kaede), and then a second plot-twist love interest, but it happens in different ways each time. Kyoko and Makoto get together all nice and neat. Shuichi has a second love-interest who likes him, but Shuichi absolutely does not like him back. Hajime’s second love interest? Everyone. Hajime has this kind of curse where the second someone captures his interest/gets interested in him, they die. I noticed in the game that they’d push characters on Hajime hardcore, and then kill them the next chapter. Now, this happens in every game. But in Hajime’s case, they weren’t just pushed on him as characters. They all flirted with him. One of the reasons why I think almost everyone in the class had a crush on Hajime. First, it’s Nagito, and Impostor confides in Hajime and Teruteru flirt with him too. Then, they either get killed or get taken away (and chained up for three days without food, water, or bathroom access). Next, Mahiru starts flirting with Hajime by bossing him around and always seeking him out. I don’t think Hajime liked her back, but she liked him. And then she dies. After that, Mikan flirts with Hajime, spends time with him, gets cutscenes cuddling with him, hits on him, and other people even make jokes about them fucking. Then she dies. Hajime becomes closer friends with Ibuki, then she dies. Hajime starts to get close to Nagito again. Then he goes crazy and dies. Hajime showed a ton of interest in Sonia, but then she goes for Gundham. Hajime gets close to Kazuichi, but then he goes for Sonia. Hajime is cursed. I think everyone in the game got an inkling of being Hajime’s love-interest before they died/got taken away. With the exceptions of Peko, Hiyoko, Gundham, Akane, Fuyuhiko, and Nekomaru. I think they give Hajime a person who he likes/likes him, and then immediately take them away before any relationship can be formed.
Now, I guess this is the time where you could make a case that Chiaki fits. “Well, he gets close to her, and then he loses her!” But actually, that kind of doesn’t fit. He gets close to her only after she’s already dead. And he’s only ‘close to her’ for one conversation, after she’s already dead. He doesn’t get to spend any quality time with her before she dies. Even if you wanted to make that claim, it still wouldn’t make Chiaki any more of a love interest than Mahiru or Teruteru or Impostor. She wouldn’t be the one-and-only, indisputable, only option for Hajime. Based on evidence in the game, I don’t think Hajime actually had a crush on Teruteru, Impostor, or Mahiru. I think they liked him, but I don’t think he ever would’ve liked them back. And that’s the only way I can see Chiaki being even a little bit his love interest. In this world, where pretty much everyone gets to be his love-interest at some point. In a world where she crushes on him but he doesn’t like her back. Because he doesn’t. That’s obvious in his thoughts and actions. (He reacts worse to Peko and Fuyuhiko’s execution than he does to Chiaki’s, btw.)
But I really don’t think she’s his love interest. She’s definitely not “the” love interest. She’s not the only one. She’s not the “canon” one. She’s not his canon love interest at all. That’s not at all what the evidence in the game points to.
If my crackpot theory isn’t true, then I’d say Hajime’s love interests are Nagito and/or Mikan. Maybe Sonia. They’re the ones that he actually spends time with, and have all of the criteria that are set by literally every other DR couple. He has none of that with Chiaki. Honestly, I think Nagito is the more prominent love interest. I think Mikan and Sonia definitely had their spots too, but Nagito fills the role of both first and second love-interest. He hits literally every single beat of Kaede and Sayaka, but also of Kyoko. Whether or not Hajime loved him by the end is debatable. Sometimes I doubt it. But he loved him at first, and Nagito loved Hajime the whole time. And Hajime was destroyed after Nagito’s death. But even though Nagito hits every single point of being a love interest compared to Sayaka, Kaede, and Kyoko...He’s still not allowed to be a valid love interest for Hajime. If you think Komahina is canon, then you’re just “biased”. You’re just looking “through your shipping goggles.” Even though Nagito’s story is literally both kinds of love interest mixed together. Nah, nah, nah. Who cares about evidence? Clearly I’m just biased. Clearly I’m just “using shipping goggles” to see what I want to see. Because... *looks at smudged writing on hand* Hinanami, the ship with no evidence at all, it definitely 100% canon and Komahina, the ship with all the evidence you could ask for, could never be canon at all. I’m just stupid. Right? Right. And why? Because Nagito is a gay guy with a mental illness!!!!!
I despise KaiMaki, but I still acknowledge that it’s at least partially canon because it was in the game. But I don’t acknowledged Hinanami, because it was never canon. It was never even hinted at. Nobody better come onto my blog arguing that Hinanami is canon in the fucking slightest. I can’t deal with that bullshit. It’s not canon. This is my second essay on the subject. (I wrote a huge essay listing all the reasons they weren’t canon, and yet I was still able to find MORE evidence against them for this one? Wow, that’s a lot of proof that they aren’t indisputably canon.) I’m fine if you want to ship them. You can be like “they had a lot of potential for a relationship!” You can be like “I think Chiaki had a crush on him!” or “I think Hajime would’ve liked her!” That’s fine. You can do that all you want. Like any other DR ship. But don’t go around being like “NO, it’s DEFINITELY canon!!! No other ship is canon because Hinanami is canon and it’s completely indisputable! You’re wrong and stupid!!” It’s not canon. No DR ship is canon. You can ship them but please, do it like any other DR ship. Ship them because you saw potential, but don’t cram it down everyone’s throat as ‘must be canon’.
Hinanami is the only ship that does that. It’s the only ship that is insisted to be 100% canon with no disputing evidence whatsoever. People dispute Kaede and Shuichi. People dispute Kaito and Maki. People dispute Kyoko and Makoto all the fucking time. Every other ship is flexible, except that one. “Hinanami is the only canon ship and no other ship is valid or matters, you can’t ship Hajime with anyone else, all the other ships pale in comparison because Hinanami is so canon, and you’re just a biased delusional idiot if you ever dare to imply otherwise!!!” Stop it. It’s not canon. I should be able to make a valid case for another ship without being immediately shot down because of Hinanami. No other DR ship does that. Quit. I hate seeing everyone insisting that it’s canon. Acting like it’s just “common sense” that it’s canon. It’s not. There’s no fucking evidence for it AT ALL. But it makes me feel like a crazy person whenever I see people insisting that, as if I’m the only one who missed the scene where they fucked without protection or something. If everyone is allowed to dispute literally every other ship, then it should be the same for Hinanami. The “canon” ship with absolutely -67% evidence towards it.
This a more angsty request. How about the V3 kids react to their S/O (definently not anymore) being in a Yakuza clan and getting them pulled into the Yakuza unwillingly. It's really angsty, sorry.
BRO why!?
Like ngl it was fun to write but whyyyyy! The Ryoma one just fucking broke my heart!
Unrelated but related: when I was writing for Korekiyo I felt so strong Jhin vibes even though it isn't anyhow similar to Jhin please help
Tumblr media
V3 cast getting pulled into Yakuza unwillingly by their (now ex) S/O
Ryoma Hoshi
Why... Why didn't he realize it sooner? All this time you were part of Yakuza and now he was forced to be a part of it...
Or so you thought. The rule is simple you stay or you die... Ryoma picked the second option.
He whouldn't make himself a puppet and he whouldn't forgive you for this either.
He actually rathers death than even trying to run becouse now he has no reason to continue whatever hell it is.
He should have known that happiness wasn't meant for him and he learnt it the hardest way possible.
Kirumi Tojo
She didn't knew what to do or think honestly. You betrayed her but she still felt something for you.
But of course she can't be with someone who forced her into Yakuza... Still she was doing anything that was expected from her.
The only person she didn't listen to was you. Since last time she did it she ended up in this situation.
In general she avoided you at all cost but when she couldn't she spoke formally with you and her tone was allways cold...
From that time nobody has ever seen her caring side. She didn't care about anything or anyone.
Gonta Gokuhara
Gonta was confused about everything and kept asking questions.
He didn't wanted to do any of Yakuza duties but he was forced to do it. With someone as strong as he was your clan was unstoppable.
It left huge mental impact on him and he began to be more and more scared. He couldn't run because he didn't wanted to hurt more people even if they were bad.
Because if he wasn't himself he would have made it out easily without any problems... But this is Gonta not some kind of terminator.
He often cried himself to sleep thinking that you of all people did it. Surely he also avoided you and even though it was rude he didn't speak to you at all.
Miu Iruma
Her genius inventions whould surely be useful so all she needed to do was invent. But she couldn't belive that she was in this mess.
She cursed at you each time she saw your face and threatened you often.
Like she literally tried to kill you... When she was making an invention that was going to protect you she actually made it a "head squisher" to say it nicely. Luckily for you you weren't first person to try the invention on.
She so was planning escape and revenge. I mean you gave her all materials she needed to make herself uncomfortable but she planned this far ahead.
K1B0
He didn't understand why this was happening and he did resist but after threats that you whould delete his code and replace it with something more suitable for yakuza he stopped and gave in.
But you were going to change his code either way. Keebo was just too... Weak emotionally for shit he whould do.
So you lost your boyfriend and gained a weapon. Now K1B0 isn't anymore your sweet Keebo... Not gonna lie you will miss him but who cares at this point about some stupid emotions?
Kaede Akamatsu
She was adapting to situation surprisingly well. Even though you betrayed her she didn't look at you the way you thought she whould.
Few days later you lern that she had first attempt of sabotaging your clan. Afterwards she didn't hide her true feelings now that her cover was blown.
She looked at you with annoyed expression and whould refuse to speak with you. She was heartbroken.
She managed to hold back her tears around you but when she was alone she was crying.
Kaito Momota
Oh he really expressed verbally what he thought about this all. Did he hit you? He wanted to but he was warned that if he harms you in any way then he's dead.
He wanted to believe in you. He really did some part of him even thought that he wasn't looking at you.
But he knew that he's just hoping for something unreal so he accepted it. You weren't the person he met and fall for and he was an idiot to think otherwise.
He was stubborn since there is no way he whould let himself be used as a godamn toy.
Every day he thought of a way to get out of this mess but alone he couldn't do anything.
Still he didn't give up no matter what you whould do he whouldn't lose hope.
Angie Yonaga
At first she thought you were joking. After all why whould Atua chose you for her if you were going to do such a thing.
But it turns out you were as serious as she didn't wanted you to be.
She started thinking why you whould do it but it doesn't matter at all.
She tried to trick your people into setting her free but it didn't work. No matter what she did or said she couldn't get out of this mess.
But she was still smiling her eyes grew dark when she saw you and you could feel her deadly glare but you didn't care enough.
Shuichi Saihara
He knew too well about the fact that now that he knows about the Yakuza he has to either die or join it. Since your clan was more of a secret one.
Of course he didn't give up on his life so he joined you.
He didn't look you in the eye and alredy came up with a plan to defeat you. To do that he was cooperating with whatever your clan wanted from him.
You were surprised that he didn't resist but you also often saw him in his free time closed in his room but since he couldn't lock the doors you could open it and nobody whould stop you.
Each time you saw exact same image... Him sitting in the corner looking at the ground beneath him his back facing the door.
After so many successful missions and years of him being 'part of the family' your clan trusted him enough to send him as a double agent. Wich was their mistake.
Everyone was arrested including you. And last time you saw him he looked serious and in his eyes you saw disgust. Last thing he ever said to you was plain "Bye".
Tenko Chabashira
(if you are a boy) She should have listened to her master and stay away from you. He was right that males were bad but this? This was just too much.
(if you are a girl) She was shocked about it. You were allways so kind gentle and amazing she can't believe that you whould do something like this.
(rest of the scenario) Breaking up with you was something she didn't had to do since you both were aware that becouse of your little scheme you aren't dating anymore.
Tenko was strong and you used her strength well. She was too scared to not listen... She was too scared to run... It felt like a huge trap and she couldn't do anything.
So in the end she had to work for you until you didn't need her anymore wich means death to her.
Rantaro Amami
Of course you made him join by using his sisters as a bait. Becouse of just this fact alone you knew that you were now no longer a pair.
As long as he cooperated the girls whould be okay. So he had no choice.
He didn't treat you with silence so when you had something to say to him he whould give you the most plain response.
And this continued over and over Rantaro kept thinking why he was so blind to fall for you. Even though he didn't knew anything about you being a Yakuza you still threw some of red flags he wasn't able to see over his love for you.
Kokichi Ouma
He agreed only becouse he knew that D.I.C.E was probably your next target to pull into your stupid yakuza bullshit.
So it was his condition wich you agreed to but both of you knew you lied to him. Sooner or later your people caught his people "Now we are like a big family!" wich he only responded by smiling at you but this smile was filled with hatred.
He was making things harder and often sabotaged you but you let him live since you had control of him not the other way around.
You made sure the D.I.C.E members were separated so they couldn't work together in order to escape. Many people at your clan were annoyed by the clowns but they were very valuable to make Kokichi give in.
But no matter what strings you pulled this puppet was doing whatever it wanted.
Himiko Yumeno
At first everyone questioned your choice but she still had to go through all yakuza duty. She wasn't strong and so she often was close to her own death.
By that time it was obvious she hated you. She allways repeated it whenever she saw you come towards her "Go away I hate you!"
She was scared and couldn't even psychically do any task that was given to her so she went through cruel training.
Her fragile body couldn't take the training however and one day she died during it from exhaustion.
Maki Harukawa
She should have expected it. I mean you two got together after she told you her real puppet.
By now she was used to being used as a puppet to kill and she didn't fight it.
But each time she saw you you could feel the hostility coming from her. She hated you and you couldn't blame her.
Maki wanted to kill you but she couldn't since second she stabs you she whould get killed by other member of yakuza.
Korekiyo Shinguji
The last thing he said to you was "Kukuku... So your true nature was actually ugly... Too bad I didn't see through it".
You didn't shove him away when he told you that in reality he used to kill people before he met you and that made him fall even more for you but now it all didn't matter.
You kept the relationship going just so you could trap him back into his killing habit.
Each time you needed a woman dead you gave that task to him and he hated you for that since he realized how fucked up what he used to do was.
Still he couldn't disobey but after all what whould be death for him really...
After some time he stopped caring about any of this. And he ended up killing himself...
But before he did that he killed you in your sleep. That revenge felt a bit too good for him really...
Tsumigi Shirogane
She couldn't belive something like this whould happen to someone like her. It all felt like a nightmare that she whould wake up from but it never happened.
It's obvious that she wasn't happy about your betrayal. But why whould she be really.
Still she was too scared of you to disobey you. So she did whatever you told her to.
So it was a training she was too weak for something actually good. It didn't go easy on her and it lasted for many months before she was anyhow useful.
Her spirit broke by that time she didn't care about a thing. She was in despair but her face didn't show any emotion.
TenMiko isn’t canon dumbass. Himiko’s feelings were out of regret on treating Tenko terribly. Not because she’s in with her. Not to mention Himiko’s canonical straight, she fantasizes herself being surrounded by men, blushes when Kokichi flirts with her and flirts with Shuichi. She shows no reaction when a girl compliments her. If you want Tenko to be happy, ship her with someone who she naturally develops a relationship, not forced herself. Don’t treat survivor’s guilt as romantic feelings.
Now it’s pretty rare that I get comments like this. I was honest to god a little confused when this arrived in my message box out of nowhere, but while I really would rather just ignore this, I cannot let this comment stand. At no point did I ever say that Himiko’s feelings were survivors guilt. At no point did I say the two of them were canonically in love. All I did was talk about what it would be like if they WERE romatically involved. However, this anon here seems to think shipping Tenmiko is completely impossible, and that you’re only allowed to ship a ship that is canon. Is that true? Far from it, obviously. About 95% of Danganronpa ships aren’t canon. About 95% of ships from any series aren’t canon. However, it seems you don’t understand my reasonings for enjoying a ship such as this one that really deserves to be enjoyed. So while I wouldn’t want to do this, you’ve forced my hand, so let me tell you
Why Tenmiko is a valid ship
To start off with, let’s get one thing out of the way. I can totally understand not shipping these two. Tenko’s strong feelings to Himiko are mostly one-sided, and she gets way too attached to the point where she’s a creep. Also, for a large chunk of the game, Himiko seems to like Angie a little more. However, Tenko’s obsessiveness is all just to make Himiko impressed, because she admires her and wants her to notice, and Himiko is VERY obviously upset when Tenko dies. Also, while some may say that Himiko hated Tenko, I don’t believe that for one second. I think Himiko really DID care for Tenko. I know it seems a little weird that she only realised how much happiness Tenko gave her AFTER she died, but personally, I get the feeling that Himiko always valued Tenko's company and simply didn't realise it. In fact, I've been through something similar in my life. I have a close friend, who initially tried to insert himself into my friend group on his own, and at the beginning, he annoyed us and most of us rejected him. I look back and realise that that person was about 80% of the happiness in my life by that point, and somehow he's still one of my best friends today. I can never forgive myself for treating him the way I did, and I'm pretty sure Himiko felt the same. What I'm saying is, on a spiritual level, I understand Himiko's complex emotions in this chapter, and I feel that she is redeemable, which I will stand by. This does not mean I’m translating it as a romantic attraction. Don’t you dare say I’m treating someone’s death as a romantic subplot, because that’s not the case. Also, Himiko’s canonically straight and Tenko...I think is Bi at least? But tell me this anon? Give me one good reason why I should give a fuck? Hajime Hinata seems to be canonically straight, particularly during Chiaki’s FTE’s, when she falls on him, he specifically states that his heart starts beating really loud. But is Hinanami the biggest ship involving Hajime? No! Komahina is! Shuichi and Kaede have a lot of romantic chemistry during the first few chapters. Are they a huge ship? No! Not as big as Oumasai! A ship and a character’s sexuality doesn’t have to come into play AT ALL when it comes to shipping. If you seriously think that, then you’re clearly new to how ships work. The very idea of shipping is that you take two (or more) characters, that can be of any gender, age, race, or even franchise (Nagito X Sans) as an example and pair them together romantically. THAT’S how ships work!
Also, I know they don’t outright say it, but the Anon who sent this to me specifically says that “Himiko blushes when Kokichi compliments her” or something, so in a way, are you trying to say that Oumeno is a more wholesome ship than Tenmiko? I’m sorry but...there’s literally only one way I can describe that. Complete and utter bullshit! To start off with, the only reason that happened is because they needed a bit of comedy, and Himiko is kind of the one comedic character that makes it this far. In general, and I’m not here to knock on Oumeno or anything, but Kokichi and Himiko’s relationship is probably the MOST toxic relationship Himiko has. There are only two big moments these two have together that could mean anything. One is the one I just mentioned, with that stupid “Maybe you like me?” joke in Chapter 5, and the other is how he tells her not to lie to herself and let her emotions out at the end of the Third Case. Generally though, Himiko dislikes Kokichi, like most of the other killing game participants do. Not only that, but in the very least, Tenko never bullied Himiko. There’s a point where Kokichi insults Himiko for having a flat chest, which is an insult I think that is SO dated, but this is not the setup for a healthy relationship. Tenmiko is genuinely a much more healthy relationship, even if it’s not romantic. On top of that, it is never ever confirmed if Kokichi actually said that. It was KAITO in the exisal at the time, so HE’S the one who said that. Whether it was part of Kokichi’s script or if he adlibbed it, since he states he had to adlib some parts, it is never known.
The big issue many people focus on is Tenko’s obsession with Himiko, but when it comes to knocking on this ship, that is literally all people focus on, because they don’t want to admit that is literally the only major thing that is anything close to wrong with it. I honestly think this is just biased. Himiko and Tenko actually have a pretty strong, solid and healthy relationship for the most part, and most people just don’t seem to understand that. In Kaede’s FTE’s with Tenko in the first chapter, she states her attraction towards Himiko is because she admires how she’s a showperson as well as how she has a thing for magical girls. Alongside that, she says that she loves small cute things, and that is exactly what Himiko is. Tenko does not obsess over Himiko, more than she obsesses over how small and cute she finds her. I guess you could say she’s a lolicon in a way, but let’s just...not talk about that. People say that Tenko’s obsession becomes borderline creepy and stalkerish, and while I understand that, I think I should remind everyone what “obsession” actually means. “An obsession” is to be in the state of being obsessed with someone or something. I could say this much that most people love the people in their family, and they have pretty happy and healthy relationships with them and spend a lot of time with them. This. THIS is an obsession. If you think obsessions to people are unhealthy, then that means your relationship with your whole family is unhealthy, in spite of how happy you are. Before anyone outright says that obsessions and love are different, I KNOW! Tenko isn’t a fucking yandere! People think obsessions to people are bad because of yandere tropes, but it can actually come in many different forms, and genuine care and affection is one of them, which is exactly what Tenko tries to show Himiko.
When Tenko and Himiko first met, I don’t doubt Himiko was scared and a bit weirded out by her, but Tenko was nice and encouraged her, and I think Himiko took it the wrong way. Himiko isn’t the type of person to avoid girls so much as she’s the type of person to avoid people in general. She was bullied in her old school, and I think the immense encouragement and support of Tenko would be a bit of new ground for her. As of such, she probably just thought Tenko was strange, because all of this were strange things to her. Himiko pushes Tenko away frustratingly because she thinks she’s simply trying to manipulate her, but the irony is that in the process of trying to avoid being manipulated by Tenko, she basically gets brainwashed by Angie. When ANGIE dies though, Himiko seems to realise what’s actually happened since then, and she realizes that because of all that happened, Tenko didn’t get any of the affection that she was genuinely trying to put on Himiko. When Tenko dies immediately after, Himiko is the first to lift the cage and calls out her name in panic, realizing that Tenko’s affection was not only genuine, but also returned, and she never ever got a chance to thank her for trying to make her a better person. And I genuinely believe that Himiko and Tenko make each other better people for sure!
As for any other reasons why I ship these two, I think their parallels are really interesting. To start off with, their general colorization is a frequently used parallels for duos. Himiko has a red skirt and red hair, as well as a red underside to her cape in her promo art, and Tenko’s outfit has a particularly outstanding blue theme to it. Another parallel, and I actually found this out while browsing, is that Hat’s and Headbands are parallels of each other, and each of them wear one (Himiko’s wizard hat and Tenko’s pinwheel headband) Lastly, there’s the contrast in personality, and this is the main reason why I ship these two. I love it when two people can have romantic attraction despite being almost opposite in nature, because their two personalities can collide, and it makes each of them better people. This is not only the case for Tenmiko, but also the case for Shuichi and Kaede, and also Kaito and Maki, AKA two ships that are basically canon (for the most part) so I really don’t see why Tenmiko’s lack on canonicity makes it a bad ship anymore, when it’s basically the same dynamic as these two. Tenko is quick, energetic and aggressive, while Himiko is slow, lazy and weak willed for a big part of the game, and I think these two counteract each other pretty well. It’s not the greatest group of parallels, but in this case, I think the opposites certainly do attract.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tenmiko is a healthy, strong, fun and valid ship, and there is nothing you can do to change my mind. I will be supportive of this ship for a very long time from now.
Kaito Momota x Reader- For You
Your eyes widened in horror as you stared at Kokichi Oma, the most annoying person you had ever met.  The little shit that had just admitted to being the mastermind and forcing you and the others to kill each other.
"Why you little-!"
You were brought back to reality at the sound of Kaito Momota's voice. As you watched your closest friend glare at the Ultimate Supreme Leader, your confusion was quickly replaced with anger as you focused your attention to Kokichi. The gremlin continued to taunt you all, and it wasn't long before Kaito ran forward, aiming to punch the boy. The moment you saw Kaito run forward, you did so as well, hoping to take the Supreme Leader by surprise.
That didn't happen, as an Exisal lunged forward and picked both you and Kaito up, the both of you passing out in the process.
~~~
"What's the meaning of this, Kokichi?!"
"Well you and your girlfriend here were giving me a real headache. So I thought it'd be best if you both had a little time out."
"Did you hurt her?! I swear if you touched her I'll-"
"Relaaax. I didn't hurt either of you. You both passed out when the Exisal grabbed you and I simply brought you back to the hangar."
"Then why hasn't she woken up yet?"
"Huh. Yeah, that is weird. Oh well. She's probably fine."
You slowly woke up to the sounds of people talking. You groaned and sat up, blinking open your eyes in the process. As your vision adjusted, you noticed you were in the Exisal hangar bathroom. As you glanced over at the door, you saw Kaito looking at you, concern and relief washing over his face as you turned to him.
"Y/N!" He exclaimed, running to your side.
"See? Told ya she was fine." You glanced behind Kaito to the bathroom door, and could make out Kokichi smirking at the both of you from the other side. He turned on his heel and left without another word.
"Y/N, you had me worried there." Kaito regained your attention as he placed a hand on your shoulder gently, a kind smile on his face.
"K...Kaito?" You muttered, squinting at him. "What happened?"
The Ultimate Astronaut sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well I tried to beat the shit out of Kokichi, but I was grabbed by one of those damned Exisals." He tilted his head at you. "I didn't expect you to do the same thing."
"What, was I supposed to let you attack that shithead by yourself?" You grunted as you pulled yourself to your feet. Kaito held on to you as you did, making sure you didn't fall. "He had just admitted to being the mastermind. I had to do something!"
"You shoulda left it to me!" Kaito scolded you. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to you."
"Like hell." You spat, glaring at your friend. "Kaito you can't do everything on your own. Especially since you're sick!"
"I'm fine!" The man screamed, narrowing his eyes at you. "I told you it was nothing! I'm fine. I got no time to be sick, ya hear me?! I have to protect everyone." Kaito took a step towards you, causing you to take one back. He continued his advancements until you felt your back against the bathroom wall. You looked up at him with wide eyes as he placed a hand on either side of you, effectively trapping you between him and the wall. He looked down at you with worried eyes.
"I have to protect you."
You felt your heart skip a beat as you suddenly became painfully aware how close his face was to your own. "K-Kaito..." You whispered.
"You don't get it, Y/N." The man above said quietly. "If something ever happened to you...I think that'd be the end for me."
Your eyes widened. "Kaito!" You exclaimed. "Don't say something like that! You still need to get to space, you know?" You gave Kaito a sad smile. " I'm just the Ultimate Baker. I'm not that impor-" You were cut off as Kaito slammed his palm against the wall, inches from your head. You looked up at him only to shiver as you were met with anger filled eyes.
"Shut up." He hissed. "Just...Shut up!" He hit the wall again in the same place, causing you to flinch. "Jeez, I thought it would be obvious by now." Kaito's hands reached down until he grabbed your wrists and brought them to beside your head.
"O-obvious?" You repeated, your throat drying up. "Kaito, I...I don't understand. What's obvious?"
"That I like ya, of course!" Kaito's signature grin spread across his face as he spoke. "You seriously couldn't tell?" He laughed as he brought his face even closer to yours. "Whenever we had to split up, I always made sure you and I were together."
"B-but Maki and Shuichi-"
"They're my sidekicks! Of course they'd tag along as well." The astronaut trainee pressed his body against you. "But I can't lie and say there weren't times I wished they would've let us be alone." Kaito leaned down and buried his face in your neck, making you stiffen in surprise. "I've wanted to tell you my feelings for you for a long time now." He muttered. "But I could never find the right time. What with the murders and class trials, there was always something else goin' on." He sighed, his warm breath hitting your neck causing you to shiver in response. "Even now we got Kokichi to worry about. But..." He lightly pressed his lips against your skin. "At least I got you here with me."
"Kaito...I don't understand..." You breathed out, straining your neck to look over at the man holding you in place. "You...have feelings for me?"
"Well of course I do! Have you looked in a mirror recently?" He chuckled softly before pulling his face away, though he made sure to keep you in place. "Though I can't really blame you for not understanding. There's no way you'd feel the same."
"Th-that's not true!" You blurted out before even realizing what you were saying.
Kaito raised an eyebrow at this. "Huh? You sayin' what I think you are?"
Your cheeks turned crimson red as you nodded. "I...really like you too, Kaito." You turned away from him in an attempt to hide your blush. "I didn't think you'd ever fall for me, though. Honestly, I thought you liked Maki."
Kaito laughed and smirked at you. "What, Maki Roll? Nah, she's just my sidekick! Her and Shuichi are just really good friends." He pressed his forehead against yours. "But you..." Kaito released your wrists in favor of grabbing your hips and pulling you flush against him. "I've always wanted to be more with you."
You wrapped your arms around the astronaut's neck. "I've always wanted that, too." You replied.
Kaito's smirk widened. Before you knew it, one of his hands had made it's way to the back of your head and pulled you into a kiss. You shut your eyes as you returned the kiss, your lips turning up into a smile.
The two of you stood there in peaceful silence, before you were forced to pull apart for air. As you caught your breath, you noticed the goofy smile on Kaito's face. "That was even more amazing then I had imagined it would be." He breathed.
You chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "You've imagined kissing me?" You teased.
The man holding you blushed slightly. "Sh-shut up." He stammered.
"Kaito! Are you and Y/N alright?"
You smirked and leaned into his chest. "Nah."
~~~
"Himiko! Yeah, we're alright. Keep it down though, Y/N's sleeping."
You awoke to the sound of hushed whispers. You slowly opened your eyes and turned to see Kaito peering out of the bathroom window. You rubbed your face as he continued speaking, not having noticed you yet.
"I got the crossbow you wanted. And only one arrow, like you asked. And not a magic arrow."
"Great! I really owe ya one, Himiko."
You watched Kaito receive a black bag and place it on the ground beside him.
"We'll get both of you out of there, alright? So don't worry!"
You heard the sounds of footsteps walk away from the window. Kaito grabbed the bag and turned around, almost dropping it when he noticed you were awake. "Y-Y/N!" He exclaimed. "I thought you were asleep."
"I thought I heard Himiko's voice." You yawned. "Did she bring you something?" You glanced at the black bag. "Isn't that the crossbow bag from Maki's lab?"
Kaito sighed. "Yeah, it is." He admitted. "I asked Himiko to bring this here so I can disable Kokichi. I don't plan on killing him, don't worry." He gave you an assuring smile.
You looked at the bag worriedly before letting out a sigh. "I trust you, Kaito." You smiled and wrapped your arms around his waist, nuzzling your head into his chest.
Your lover dropped the bag and grabbed your face in his hands. "I'll do everything I can to keep you safe, ya hear me, Y/N?" You nodded, clinging to Kaito tightly. The man pulled away and took out the disassembled crossbow, quickly putting it together.
It wasn't long before footsteps were heard outside the bathroom door. As they neared, Kaito stiffened before shoving you behind him. "Stay behind me, alright Y/N?" You nodded again as the door opened.
"Goooood morning, love bir-" Kokichi was cut off by a crossbow being shoved in his face. He blinked, looking from a very determined Kaito to a very concerned looking you. "Hm? What's goin' on?" The mastermind asked innocently.
"You're going to let us out of this hangar." Kaito said bluntly. "And you're also going to stop this killing game."
"Oh, but I've already stopped the killing game." Kokichi answered with his telltale smirk. "Why do ya think you two hot blooded idiots are away from the others?" As he spoke, you noticed Kokichi's hand slowly reaching towards his pocket. Kaito must have noticed as well, for before you could say anything he had shot the bolt into Kokichi's arm. As the Ultimate Supreme Leader stumbled backwards, your friend tackled him. The two stumbled out of the bathroom and into the main area of the hangar. You followed, watching worriedly.
As the two struggled against each other, you were all taken aback by the sudden entrance of an Exisal. Kokichi reached for the remote again, but to your surprise Maki leaped out of the cockpit and shot the self proclaimed mastermind with a crossbow bolt. As she confronted Kokichi you ran over to Kaito, who was watching Maki suspiciously. Just as the Ultimate Assassin aimed to shoot another arrow, your beloved pulled away from you and ran in front of the bolt.
You all looked on in horror as Kaito gripped his arm. Maki quickly backed up before leaving the hangar. After she was gone, you watched as Kokichi limped over to the control panel and closed the shutters. He glanced at you and Kaito, a weak smirk making its way to his face.
"I don't know why we're even having this discussion. The victim is obviously Kaito." Maki snapped at Shuichi, who looked unconvinced.
"Ha...ha...Seems like Maki has a plan." He stated. "Well, so do I."
~~~
The Ultimate Detective glanced at you. "Y/N, you were in the hangar with them, right? Can you tell us what happened?"
You winced as you felt tears begin to fall from your eyes. "I...Yes..." You gulped. "Kaito...Kaito is dead. I saw Kokichi kill him."
Maki glanced at you, but soon turned to Shuichi and gave a curt nod. "See? We even have an eye witness."
"Then it seems the culprit is obvious." Keebo remarked.
"I agree..." Shuichi said quietly. "Too obvious."
"Huh?!" Himiko squeaked. "How can a culprit be too obvious?!"
"Y/N, please explain exactly what happened." The detective asked you. You gave a shaky nod and began to tell your tale.
"Himiko had given Kaito a crossbow from Maki's lab at his request. He told me he planned on using it to disarm Kokichi. Well, the two got into a confrontation. Kaito shot Kokichi in the arm. The two then began fighting. That's when Maki burst in while inside an Exisal. She shot Kokichi in the back with a poison tipped arrow. Before she could finish him off though, Kaito..." You let out a choked sob as you forced yourself to continue. "Kaito lept in front of her, and took the shot instead. Maki then ran out, I assume to get the antidote. But before she could make it back, Kokichi shut the shutters. He then began...gloating. Maki came back soon and tossed the antidote through the bathroom window. But Kokichi stole it and...drank it. After Maki ran off again, Kaito tackled him. He...didn't want to go down so easy, you know?"
"That sounds like Kaito." Tsumugi said sadly.
"Well, Kokichi pulled out an Electrobomb and used it. He then pushed Kaito into the hydraulic press and...and crushed him." You brought your hands to your face and wept. "I couldn't do anything. It all happened so fast..."
"But, the hydraulic press had a safety function." Keebo pointed out.
"That's what the Electrobomb was used for." Shuichi said grimly. "It deactivated the press' safety function."
"So...Kokichi really killed Kaito?" Himiko asked softly. You nodded in reply.
"Hold on. Before we vote..." Shuichi glanced over at you. "Y/N, there's something that doesn't add up."
You looked over at him. "And what is that?"
"Why were Kokichi's clothes stuffed into the toilet?"
You stiffened, a motion that Shuichi picked up on.
"What you just told us...that isn't the whole story, is it Y/N?"
You said nothing as you glanced over to the Exisal standing behind Kokichi's portrait.
"Nah, she told the truth." Kokichi's voice rang out from the machine. "I kinda forgot Y/N was there, and didn't realize until I had already killed Kaito. That's a heeeeUUUge blunder on my part."
"You...forgot she was there?" Keebo repeated.
"Well yeah! She's not really all that important, right? She barely ever speaks." You glared as Kokichi finished speaking.
"Still, if you were planning on killing Kaito, surely you would've made sure there were no witnesses around?" Shuichi pressed.
"What are you getting at, Shuichi?" You snapped, turning to the detective. "I saw Kokichi murder Kaito. Are you saying I'm lying?"
Everyone stared at Shuichi as the boy looked at you sadly. "Yes. I am saying that, Y/N."
You clenched your fists. "Why would I lie about this?!" You demanded. "I want Kokichi to burn in hell for what he did! I loved Kaito!" You ignored the shocked gasps that you heard and continued. "I would never protect his murderer!"
"You're right, you wouldn't defend Kokichi." Shuichi gave you a sad smile. "But you would defend yourself, right?"
Your eyes widened in shock and anger. "You think I killed Kaito?!"
"No." Shuichi shook his head. "I think you killed Kokichi."
You paled as you heard everyone gasp.
"N-now hold on!" Kokichi's voice came from the Exisal. "Y/N couldn't have killed me. I'm right here!"
"Then explain this!"
You didn't say another word as Shuichi explained why it had to have been you who killed Kokichi, and why Kaito was the one inside the Exisal. He pointed out that in the video, the press stopped briefly, giving Kokichi time to switch with Kaito and be the real victim. He also pointed out that you must have still been in the hangar at this point, and asked why you didn't do anything to stop this.
You didn't answer.
The Ultimate Detective then concluded that all three of you; Kaito, Kokichi and yourself, must have been working together to pull this off.
"That all makes sense..." Keebo thought aloud. "But then isn't it possible for Kaito to be the culprit, and not Y/N?"
"It's possible, yes." Shuichi nodded. "But that isn't the case."
"How...how are you so sure?" The Exisal spoke up, this time in Kaito's voice. "Yeah, all you said is true. I'm still alive, and Kokichi is the victim. But Y/N is not the culprit! I am!"
Shuichi looked to the man inside the machine, an apologetic look on his face. "I'm sorry, Kaito. But there's no way Y/N isn't the culprit." He looked over at you. "She wouldn't have allowed you to become the blackened. Even if you had fought against this plan, which I'm sure you did, there is no way she would agree to Kokichi's plan if you were the one who would become blackened."
"So your only proof is that she 'wouldn't agree' otherwise?" Kaito's voice scoffed. "That's hardly evidence!"
"There's also this." Shuichi reached into his pocket and pulled out a charm bracelet. You gasped and looked at your wrist, where you usually wore the first gift Kaito had ever given you.
It was missing.
"I found this laying on the hydraulic press control panel." Shuichi looked to you. "Why would you be up there if you weren't the one using the controls?"
You looked at Shuichi, tears streaming down your face. You opened your mouth to speak, but all that came out was laughter. You covered your mouth, but the laughing wouldn't stop. The others watched you in surprise. You eventually calmed down enough to speak. "You're absolutely right, Shuichi." You told him, wiping away your tears. "As always."
"Y/N, no!" You glanced at the Exisal as the cockpit door flew open. Within moments, Kaito was before you, wrapping you in his arms. You gladly accepted his embrace, gripping his shirt tightly as you sobbed into his chest. "I told you that I should've been the one." He whispered. You felt something wet land on your shoulder, and you realized Kaito was crying as well.
"It'll be fine, Kaito." You told him. "I had a feeling this would happen. So..." You pushed yourself out of Kaito's arms and looked to the others. "I'm prepared."
"Well I'm not, damn it!" Your other half cursed, roughly grabbing you by the shoulders. "I'm not ready to lose you, Y/N!"
You smiled at Kaito and reached up to cup his face. You looked into his eyes before pulling him into a kiss. The astronaut quickly kissed back, his grip on you tightening as if he was afraid you'd be torn away from him. The kiss was rough and passionate, mixing with the saltiness of both of your tears.
It tasted like true despair.

any or all of kuroyuki, kokichi, scarlet :))
you know I gotta do all of them wwww
this has been sitting in my drafts for way too long but better late than never…!!
send me a character and i’ll list:
KUROYUKI
favorite thing about them: I love how passionate he is and how he’ll do anything and everything to make Enju happy like… he’s pretty misguided but his heart is always in the right place ;;;n;;;;. There’s also the fact that he’s been through so much and desperately clings to the hope that he can still be happy even though he thinks he doesn’t deserve it (spoiler: HE DOEESSS). His redemption arc was *clutches heart* so good.
least favorite thing about them: Nothing. I love everything about him. Okay, jokes aside, probably the fact that he tried to kill Gekkamaru in his route… that wasn’t cool.
favorite line:
Tumblr media
best boy standing up to worst dad gives me life
brOTP: Gekkamaru!!! Their brotherly relationship is so sweet.
OTP: Enju ofc they have everything I look for in a ship: angst, suffering, and pain.
nOTP: Don’t really have one
random headcanon: Kuroyuki stops using his ninjutsu but he still has trouble retaining his memory so he and Enju start exchanging letters just so they can write down everything so if Kuroyuki forgets he can just read it.
unpopular opinion: 1. pls stop comparing him to Toma. 2. He isn’t really a yandere… I mean he kind of is but there’s so much more to his character than just a cardboard cut out trope and his good writing deserves to be recognized and appreciated.
song i associate with them: none because I almost never associate songs with characters…. I’m the last person you’d ever want to ask make a character playlist.

smug gremlin bastard…. i love him….
KOKICHI
favorite thing about them: EVERYTHING I LOVE THIS SWEET GREMLIN CHILD SO MUCH I WOULD DIE FOR HIM. I think my most favourite thing is how he essentially sacrificed everything there was to him to try and save everyone, even when he knew he would die as someone who was hated, forgotten, and villainized by the very people he tried to save… and that was exactly what happened. God just typing this makes me wanna cry.
least favorite thing about them: The stunt he pulled in the fourth trial was not cool.

Thank you, danganronpa wikipedia
brOTP: I bicycle ship Kokichi with evERYONE. I love Kokichi/Kaito and Kokichi/Maki and Kokichi/Kaede a lot… honestly, Kokichi shoulda been included in v3′s main trio smh he has such good chemistry with all the characters.
OTP: Ouma x Himiko (oumeno?? is that their ship name???). I blame fanartists, the fanart for this ship is the cutest thing to ever exist.
nOTP: Not really an notp but don’t kill me Saiouma (is that their ship name??? I think it is???) is a hard pass from me. Used to be my otp when I fresh finished the game but it fell so fast from so high… mainly bc I simply don’t like Saihara and the more I think about how the game replaced Kaede with him, the more it pisses me off.
random headcanon: Move over Miu, Kokichi is the true king of inventions/electronics. I head canon he’s really good at creating gadgets and all the toys in his lab are imitations of stuff he’s hand crafted in the past.
unpopular opinion: I bicycle ship Kokichi with everyone, including the girls. I see a lot of Kokichi fans be like “Saiouma or bust” but well… if people are pressed bc of who I ship this gremlin child with then they can marinate in their salt alone.
song i associate with them: I remember going through “danganronpa character theme songs” videos and this was the one for Kokichi and out of all the songs I listened to, that was like one of the two songs I liked enough to be memorable.

he looks like a kicked puppy… how can you not love him
SCARLET
favorite thing about them: How much he cares about his family and how he tries to shoulder their burdens and willingly suffers the consequences of their mistakes (EVEN IF THEY WEREN’T ACTUALLY THEIR MISTAKES)
least favorite thing about them: The fact that he doesn’t get a proper romantic ending, thanks game.
favorite line: none because this entire game’s experience was a blur and I can’t remember one distinct piece of dialogue
brOTP: Hamelin
OTP: Fuka…. they’re so cute together
nOTP: Don’t really have one
random headcanon: His red hood was given to him by Hamelin; Hamelin thought the hood was really girly looking and gave it to him as a joke gift to tease him but Scarlet ended up looking really good in it and then just started wearing it as a staple to his outfit
unpopular opinion: He’s the best/second best character in the game

Danganronpa V3 Commentary: Part 5.11
Be aware that this is not a blind playthrough! This will contain spoilers for the entire game, regardless of the part of the game I’m commenting on. A major focus of this commentary is to talk about all of the hints and foreshadowing of events that are going to happen and facts that are going to be revealed in the future of the story. It is emphatically not intended for someone experiencing the game for their first time.
Last time, as the Kaito rescue operation fell rather, uh, flat, Maki was totally not planning to murder Kokichi on sight, everyone decided Kaito was definitely dead except for Shuichi, Maki was even more sure Kaito was dead and also that him ever killing anyone was completely impossible, Kaito was very not dead and very a murderer inside the Exisal and had to have felt awful to hear his friends’ reactions to all this, and Shuichi was desperately clinging to a currently-baseless hope of Kaito being alive somehow rather than face the painful apparent truth, but at least this was better than Maki letting her despair win and twist her into thinking it’s okay to sacrifice all of her friends just to kill Kokichi and “defeat despair”.
Now, we’re here at the “Investigation Start”, which is to say, the moment the awesome music kicks in! I’ve always liked Danganronpa’s thing of having a metal remix of the investigation music for case 5 and onwards, since it hammers home that things have really gotten serious now – but it’s never felt more appropriate than this investigation here where Kaito may or may not be dead. Damn right the terrifying possibility of losing your best friend – and the feeling of desperately wanting not to – should be given that much importance.
It’s also incredibly appropriate that this version of the music is titled Hope Searching! The regular one is called Despair Searching, which makes a lot of sense when we’re searching for proof that one of our friends is a murderer. But this time, Shuichi’s not primarily thinking about the investigation in terms of finding the murderer. He’s searching for proof that his best friend is still alive. Damn right that’s hope.
And okay, since I insist on nitpicking the meaning of the word, technically he is not searching for hope – finding Kaito alive would be finding relief, as there’d be no need to hope for it any more if he’s right there. It is the act of searching for a positive outcome to this situation in and of itself that is hope. So it’s still a fitting title, as long as it’s parsed as “hope” being a modifier to describe the “searching”, rather than being about searching for hope.
Shuichi:  (There’s a sleeve sticking out of the press. It’s… definitely… Kaito’s coat sleeve. In that case… the victim must be…) “…”
I love how hesitant Shuichi is to even voice the idea in his inner monologue. His detective’s instinct is trying to tell him that obviously Kaito’s sleeve being visible means he should assume Kaito is under there, but Shuichi Saihara is digging his heels in and refusing to go along with this.
Shuichi:  “…I don’t want to see a crushed body, no matter who it is… but I have to do it. I… have to know.” (I made up my mind, took a breath, and pressed the button.)
Damn, Shuichi is showing some serious freaking courage here to be able to do this. Even if he was pretty sure it wasn’t Kaito under there, there’s still plenty of reason for him to never want to see it – but the thing is, he subconsciously does think it’s Kaito, so that’d be what he’s expecting to see, even if he can’t admit it to himself. It’s incredible that he can do this anyway.
Shuichi:  (In that case… we won’t be able to check the body. I’m honestly a little relieved, but I shouldn’t say that out loud.)
Shuichi, literally nobody would blame you for being relieved about this! I’m also incredibly relieved that it is a vital plot point of this case that we never see the body, yeesh.
(I wonder if Shuichi is actually feeling guilty about his relief because he subconsciously expects it to be Kaito and so he’s thinking of this as an excuse to keep running away from the truth for longer.)
Shuichi:  (In addition to the control buttons, there’s an ‘Emergency Stop’ button.) […] “Well… if the culprit were planning this murder, they’d have no use for it.”
Yep, that’s definitely never going to be relevant to this crime at all. (To be fair, the culprit never pressed that button.)
For some reason, you have to examine the sleeve again after trying and failing to raise the press in order to get Shuichi to notice the hole in it. I’ve seen a lot of people miss this and then not be allowed to leave the hangar yet and be quite annoyed when they realised what they were missing.
Shuichi:  “It looks like… the left sleeve sticking out of the hydraulic press.”
When first-time-me first saw the body discovery cutscene, I immediately assumed that the sleeve hanging down was the sleeve of Kaito’s that always hangs loose – in other words, his right sleeve, and he was (hypothetically, definitely hypothetically) face down in the press. That image got so stuck in my mind that I somehow managed to skim right over the part where Shuichi says here it’s his left sleeve and keep thinking of it wrong until the trial.
It’s honestly a little surprising to me that Shuichi can even tell it’s the left sleeve just by looking at it. Granted, there are buttons on the cuff that would be opposite on each sleeve, but speaking as a fanartist who has drawn Kaito countless times, I can vouch that I never freaking remember which way around the buttons are supposed to go and have to check again every time. Maybe Shuichi can only tell because he has his own jacket sleeves with buttons on to compare it to.
…Wait. Waaaait. My I-have-checked-the-buttons-on-Kaito’s-sleeve-way-too-many-times senses were tingling, so I went and checked yet again to make sure and…
Tumblr media
…they’re not even the right way around in this shot of his sleeve if it’s supposed to be the left one! The game’s artists can’t even remember which way around the damn buttons go! Even though I didn’t consciously know this, that may well be why I was instinctively so sure it was the right sleeve at first – because I was right to be!
I have to question, considering that Kokichi was lying on top of the jacket, how the blood that went everywhere didn’t also get all over the jacket sleeve. It should have soaked it to the point of completely obscuring the smaller stain of Kaito’s blood around the arrow hole, you’d think.
Regardless of which sleeve it is, the fact that there is a bloodstained arrow hole in it proves that Kaito was wearing it at some point prior to it dangling outside the press. First-time-me who’d convinced herself it was the right sleeve still didn’t budge at this and I instead somehow decided he must have inexplicably been wearing his jacket differently to how he always does when he was shot, then apparently switched back to wearing it normally before being in the press.
The swipe pattern bloodstain is entirely staged to give the impression that they fought in the bathroom and then the victor dragged the injured/dead loser into the press to crush him. Since that’s not actually what happened, I have to question how there’s no signs of bloodstains from where they actually got injured, all three shots of which happened in the hangar. Perhaps it’s simply because puncture wounds bleed most when the weapon is removed, and Kokichi’s arrows were removed in the bathroom after the antidote shenanigans – but Kaito pulled his arrow out while still in the hangar.
Himiko:  “The way you are now… you might start accusing people cuz you can’t believe Kaito’s death…”
Apparently Himiko took Maki’s words seriously about how Shuichi is acting like Kaito in Gonta’s trial and is now thinking Shuichi might accuse someone with no basis just to run away from the truth. I’m sure that red Exisal in the corner would really like to tell her that there’s no way Shuichi would ever do that.
Himiko:  “I don’t wanna hear your excuses! Or anything else! Just don’t talk to me!”
Himiko’s acting like this because she’s afraid of being suspected after having given the crossbow to Kaito, but she sure is just making herself look much more suspicious by doing so than if she’d just relax a bit about this.
Shuichi:  (The red Exisal is completely still…)
Himiko:  “Shuichi, it’s dangerous there… If you go near that thing, you might get torn apart.”
Nope. Not ever. In fact, if anything else happened to be trying to kill Shuichi right now, the vicinity of that red Exisal is probably the single safest place he could stand.
Shuichi:  “Ah, but… I suppose that if Kokichi was alive, he could move it at any time by remote…” […] (That is *if* Kokichi is alive…)
Shuichi is very quick to stress to himself that it’s definitely just an “if”. Definitely.
Tumblr media
Shuichi:  “So this is how it looks on the inside, huh?”
As a Kaito fanartist, I would also like to personally thank the open green Exisal in this hangar for providing practically the only decent reference image for what the inside of an Exisal cockpit looks like. There should be plenty of Kaito fanartists who feel the same way, because Kaito fanartists should have plenty of reason to want to know what an Exisal cockpit looks like… but I might be the only one who does, and that makes me very sad.
(What I’m saying is, more Exisal Kaito fanart, dammit.)
Monokuma shows up as Shuichi is examining the Exisal to talk about the electronic lock on the cockpit that only the Monokubs could unlock. Which on the one hand is him providing relevant information that Shuichi can’t get just by looking at it… but on the other hand, I think he just wants an excuse to be here.
Monokuma:  “Of course I want attention! I’m the mascot for cryin’ out loud!”
…Because he also shows up, completely gratuitously, when you talk to Tsumugi. Which makes a lot of sense when you realise that an Electrobomb was used recently in order to break in here, meaning that Monokuma can’t watch the investigation without physically being here and seeing it himself. He’s not going to admit that, hence his usual nonsense as an excuse for showing up, but he definitely wants to see as much of the investigation as he can, especially since he still needs to figure out for himself who actually did it.
Monokuma:  “And yet, I’ve appeared fewer times than that Plain Jane Tsumugi over there.”
I like how he complains about getting less attention than the mastermind he’s beholden to.
Monokuma:  “It’d be false advertising if I didn’t appear as often as I can, y’know?”
Monokuma, you are not subtle! If you were more subtle then maybe Kokichi wouldn’t have figured you out and you wouldn’t even be in this mess!
(Kaito is probably hearing this and thinking “damn, maybe Kokichi really did have a point about this”, now that he’s aware of the possibility of an audience and can evaluate Monokuma’s words and actions in that light.)
Tsumugi:  “A-Advertising? What advertising?”
If you have a problem with him dropping hints like that, you should have programmed him not to, Tsumugi.
Shuichi:  “…Ignore it. Let’s just focus on the investigation.”
No, Shuichi, don’t ignore it! It’s actually kind of relevant to this particular investigation!
Upon examining the bathroom door, Shuichi doesn’t quite immediately head inside.
Shuichi:  (This is the place where Kaito was imprisoned. Kaito might have left some kinda clue here—) “Ah, no… he didn’t ‘leave’ anything… He might not be dead…”
Much as I love the denial from Shuichi that the writing is going for here, the wording doesn’t quite work for it like it should. “Kaito left some kind of clue” implies more to me that he left it deliberately and therefore most likely isn’t dead. (Which, as it turns out, is exactly what he did!) Maybe this worked better in Japanese, but even in English, “left behind” might be a slightly better way to imply the suggestion that it was done without intent and he’s no longer here.
Also, Shuichi spoke that last part out loud, and the bathroom door is close to the red Exisal, so even if he was speaking pretty quietly under his breath… Kaito probably heard that. He must be feeling such a mix of emotions at hearing Shuichi stubbornly deny that he’s dead like this – on the one hand he’d be happy that Shuichi wants him to be alive and proud that he’s potentially going to figure out the real truth, but on the other hand, Shuichi is clearly so afraid of the alternative, and the plan that Kaito’s going to give it his all to pull off will involve convincing Shuichi that he really is dead and making that fear seem to come true.
Before I start examining any of the actual evidence in the bathroom, let me go off on a tangent: there’s still no toilet paper in here. There wasn’t when Shuichi was last here at the beginning of the chapter, either, but obviously Kaito would have needed some – for more than one reason, given all the blood he was coughing up. So probably the reason that it’s not here any more is that he took the remainder of it with him into the Exisal to keep catching all the blood he was going to keep coughing up while in there. This is definitely a thing that I’m supposed to conclude and not just the game developers not having thought about this at all.
Since Kaito was locked up, it would have been Kokichi who provided him with the toilet paper after shutting him in there. So, please imagine: Kokichi showing up at the bathroom door to awkwardly, wordlessly hand Kaito a roll of toilet paper, which, given what happened with Gonta, makes Kaito just kind of stare at him for a moment like “is this a fucking joke”. (It’s actually not, though, because Kokichi wouldn’t want to remind himself of the murders that were totally not his doing.)
Tumblr media
{Later addendum edit: Uhhh, never mind, scratch that, turns out there actually is toilet paper in the bathroom: a whole stack of it here by the sink. I didn’t notice it for a long time because it kinda blends in, and because I was looking for toilet paper on the actual toilet paper dispenser, which is indeed empty.
This stack is here both during the investigation and also during the first time Shuichi explores the hangar in the Daily Life, so unfortunately this removes any real possibility of my silly hypothetical scenario I presented here. Which is a shame. I liked that idea.
(It also slightly lessens the chance of Kaito having some of it with him in the Exisal to catch all the blood he’d be coughing up? But, I mean, he didn’t need to take the whole pile, so this one could still be true.)}
Shuichi:  (A body discovery announcement… means the mastermind is still alive… But… I still… don’t believe… That Kaito… is dead.)
There’s a monitor in the bathroom, which you don’t need to investigate, but if you do you get some more delightfully forced denial from Shuichi.
The antidote bottle appears to be labelled “Poison”, but the blood obscures the rest of the label, which really reads “Strike-9 Poison Antidote”. This is a much cleverer trick in Japanese – the word “antidote” in Japanese is the word for “poison” but with a prefix, and that’s the part which is obscured by blood. Imagine if the English word for it were “antipoison”. It’s probably a little easier for a Japanese player to guess that perhaps this was in fact an antidote bottle.
Tumblr media
It’s never made clear whether or not the label being obscured by blood to make it look like a bottle of poison was deliberate in order to confuse things further, but it probably was, since the blood ending up on it in this particular way by accident is pretty unlikely.
Tumblr media
I commented on the swipe pattern bloodstain earlier, and the bloodstain in the bathroom is also way too neatly patterned, as if there was just one single injury sustained there and then the victim was dragged out. Apparently they managed to fabricate this after the fact, but I feel like there should have been more blood in more places in the bathroom given what actually happened, and that Kokichi’s two arrows were removed in here. Even if they wiped up some of the extra blood, there should still be traces that Shuichi should be able to spot.
Outside the hangar, Keebo is feeling better, which doesn’t actually make sense if you think about it, since the Electrobomb was triggered out here and so this should be the epicentre of the effect making him feel sick.
Keebo:  “So what I experienced was akin to an allergic reaction such as hay fever… So it could have affected a human the same way! Being a robot had nothing to do with it!”
Thinking of it as essentially an allergic reaction is a neat way of putting it that makes it equivalent to something humans experience. He doesn’t need to insist that it’s not because he’s a robot – obviously robots would be allergic to different things than humans because their bodies work differently, but it doesn’t mean their allergies don’t still matter!
Keebo recounts how he witnessed Himiko sneaking into the hangar carrying the crossbow case, shortly before he headed there himself to try and negotiate with Kokichi. Which means that Shuichi, Himiko, Keebo and Maki all entered the hangar on their own initiative yesterday to try and be helpful in some way (even if Maki’s idea of “helpful” was very questionable), despite that this wasn’t part of the plan they’d agreed on. The only person who did nothing of the sort is Tsumugi – and it’s quite telling that she’s the odd one out here. She didn’t care about doing something extra to try and help, and she knew Maki would be trying to kill Kokichi and didn’t want to get in the way of that.
Monokuma:  “Oh, at the time, the Exisals were on auto-pilot and directed to only observe me.”
You’d think that Shuichi would be able to figure out that they were never really “protecting” him based on the way Monokuma words this here.
Shuichi:  “…Why are you telling me all of this? This puts the person controlling you at a disadvantage.”
Monokuma:  “But we’re not talking about that… We’re talking about this.”
Shuichi of course thinks Kokichi is the mastermind and therefore that it’s odd for Monokuma to reveal information about what Kokichi did. Monokuma’s response drops a really big hint that Kokichi isn’t actually the mastermind, but it seems to go over Shuichi’s head.
Monokuma:  “The person who shared that info with me didn’t seem interested in sharing it with you guys… So you share it instead! That way, it’ll be fair to all participants!”
Meanwhile, here, Monokuma is supposedly referring to Maki, as will be brought up later in the trial. Which is kind of awkward, since I highly doubt this (and we still seem to be talking about the fact that the Exisals were observing him here) is something Maki ever stopped to tell Monokuma. I guess when he’s saying “shared the info”, he doesn’t necessarily mean directly, and it’s simply the fact that Maki hijacking one of the Exisals didn’t cause the others to attack her that let Monokuma realise what was up.
Or Monokuma is simply using Maki’s secrecy as a flimsy excuse to give this information to Shuichi, because really he wants to try and hint at what Kokichi’s real plan was so that Shuichi can figure things out for him in the trial.
‘Exisals Protecting Monokuma’ has been added to the Truth Bullets section of your Monopad.
That’s quite pointedly not what Monokuma just told us, but okay.
Now to briefly head to Maki’s and Shuichi’s labs. Although going to Maki’s is practically unnecessary, since all it’s for is to confirm that there’s one less crossbow case there, which should already be evident from the crossbow in the bathroom.
Shuichi:  (I feel as though there are less weapons here than I remember…)
That’s because of Kaito’s Heroic Plan that never actually happened. His pile of weapons is probably still in the gym, alone and forgotten about.
Shuichi:  (Case files, lined up for me to read. There’s nothing off about them. They don’t seem to be related.)
What if you just… took a break to read them anyway. Just one? Just the first one? No? You might find it quite enlightening.
None of the other bottles of antidote have the word “Poison” on the label, making it a little bit of a stretch that the Strike-9 one did. Possibly it’s because the full name of that poison is literally “Strike-9 Poison” (the poison bottle on the shelf does say precisely that), but that also makes it harder for players of the localisation to realise the bottle in the hangar might be for an antidote.
Shuichi:  (According to the labels, each bottle is only one dose.)
It sure is convenient that these antidotes for completely different poisons happen to all work such that one dose is exactly the same amount and exactly enough to fill one of these bottles, and that the Strike-9 antidote therefore obviously also works that way. Buuuut the plot point of there only being one single dose of antidote is very important and fun, so I don’t actually mind.
Shuichi:  (…None of these antidotes are for the Strike-9 poison. They’re all for different poisons. What could that mean?)
Obviously this means the bottle in the hangar is the Strike-9 antidote. But there’s also the question of why some of the other antidotes are even out on the desk in the first place. The game never explicitly explains what this means, but it’s a delightful detail. Consider how Maki was very careful to put the poison bottle back once she’d used it to prepare her arrows, such that Shuichi only noticed it’d been used because it had slightly less in it. But the antidotes? Apparently she just haphazardly grabbed a handful in her haste to find the right one among them, and then afterwards, she didn’t even have the presence of mind to remember she’d left the other ones lying around and put them back to hide the evidence. It’s great how what’s seemingly just there to give the player the information they need to know also serves as a subtle sign of the huge difference in Maki’s state of mind before and after shooting Kaito.
Shuichi:  (I didn’t find any evidence to suggest Kaito isn’t dead… On the contrary, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest *Kokichi* isn’t dead. […] Which means… the victim must be…) “No, it’s too soon to be thinking like that. If I investigate a little more, I’ll find something.”
I love how Shuichi desperately tells himself that if he hasn’t found any evidence of Kaito being alive yet, it must be that he hasn’t investigated hard enough and definitely not just that maybe Kaito really isn’t alive after all.
Shuichi:  (Perhaps I missed something… I should check again.)
Yes, definitely. That’s definitely all it is, and he’s totally going to find some magical piece of evidence proving Kaito’s survival despite everything if he just looks harder.
So Shuichi returns to the hangar, where Keebo wants to show him something he found in the bathroom… but you can put that off and instead re-investigate everything in the hangar. If you do so, you get the usual text summarising what he deduced when he first investigated the thing, but then also…
Shuichi:  “That’s all that stands out to me right now. But I should keep looking.”
[the screen fades to black]
(…)
(…)
(…)
[the screen fades back in]
Shuichi:  (It’s no use. There are no clues here.)
…he does this, for every single item of note that he investigated previously… except for the hydraulic press and the sleeve. Shuichi is so desperate to find even the slightest bit of evidence he might have overlooked that could prove Kaito is alive – but deep down he doesn’t believe it at all, because he can’t bear to look too closely at the press for fear of finding incontrovertible proof that Kaito really is dead. (Which is ironic given that the arrow hole in the sleeve is the main thing suggesting that maybe it’s not really Kaito under there.)
It is also quite amusing that one of the things Shuichi can stubbornly re-investigate in this way is the red Exisal. That actually would give him precisely the miraculous, undeniable proof of Kaito being alive that he so desperately wants, if only he really did manage to investigate it as thoroughly as he could.
Maki is back in the hangar, but she won’t even look at Shuichi.
Maki:  “…”
Shuichi:  (Maki… Why is it so easy for you to believe Kaito is dead?)
Shuichi cannot understand how someone who is also Kaito’s friend isn’t just as desperate to deny that as he is!
Once you enter the bathroom, Keebo invites Shuichi to investigate Kokichi’s clothes that just turned up in the toilet… but you can still ignore that and re-investigate everything else. This time it makes a lot less sense that Shuichi would do that when massive evidence that might possibly prove Kokichi is dead is right there, but it’s still a thing; Shuichi does the same stubborn lengthy re-inspection of most things in here, which even somehow includes the bathroom window. Yes, Shuichi, that is definitely going to be secretly hiding a clue to Kaito being alive.
As I finally actually investigate the clothes…
Keebo:  “Is something the matter? Please, investigate!”
Shuichi:  “Ah! O-Okay!” (The Ultimate Detective can’t stop here! This *has* to be an important clue…)
Come on, Shuichi, you’re willing to stare at a window frame for three minutes in the hope that it might tell you Kaito is alive; you should not be hesitating about these having been found in the toilet if you really are that desperate.
Shuichi:  (It could mean that he was attacked. In that case… There’s a chance… Kokichi was the one crushed in the hydraulic press!) “Ah, Keebo, thank you! Thank you! This is a very important clue!”
Aww, Shuichi! He’s elated to find proof that maybe his best friend isn’t dead! He was so desperate to find some and he did!
Except… he really, really didn’t. If Shuichi were looking at this objectively and not with the mindset of someone desperate to find even the slightest indication of Kaito’s survival or Kokichi’s death, he’d realise this straight away. Because, sure, it proves Kokichi was injured – but if Kokichi was the victim, why wouldn’t the culprit just leave his clothes on him when they crushed him? That’d be a much better way to hide any evidence of a struggle.
What this really should be taken as evidence of is that Kokichi is very much still alive, and he wanted to hide the evidence that he was injured. That’s clearly precisely why Kokichi took his clothes off before being killed and told Kaito to flush them – to make it look like Kokichi wanted to get rid of them, while having it so that the evidence would eventually be found to make Shuichi (and Monokuma) come to the conclusion that he did that and is therefore still alive.
Keebo:  “Oh, I’m happy I was able to help, but I must decline shaking that hand of yours.”
Another testament to Keebo’s humanity – he seems to have a human’s instinctive aversion to germs, despite the fact that they’re not a problem for him personally.
(Also Shuichi was so happy that he just up and tried to shake Keebo’s hand, that’s adorable.)
Shuichi:  (But if Kokichi was the one crushed in the hydraulic press… Where did Kaito go? Why not show himself?)
That’s still the million-dollar question, isn’t it, Shuichi. He knows just as well that it’s not remotely like Kaito to hide at a time like this. And the fact that he’s only even asking himself this question now is another sign that he wasn’t nearly as sure that Kaito might be alive as he was trying to be.
Tsumugi:  “I wonder where he went off to…”
Shuichi:  (Did he disappear? He can’t still be in the hangar…)
In this conversation they’re assuming it’s Kokichi, not Kaito, but whoever the survivor is, there is one place in the hangar he could still be that hasn’t occurred to Shuichi.
(And Shuichi totally could check that place, if only it occurred to him as a possibility. There are still four fully-charged Electrohammers lying presumably somewhere near the entrance after everyone dropped them in shock upon seeing the body. Using one of them on that red Exisal would have cut this whole trial very awkwardly short.)
Tsumugi:  “Kokichi’s been manipulating us all from the start… I can’t believe someone like that could be killed by Kaito…”
Shuichi:  “…”
Tsumugi:  “Ah! Of course, I don’t mean to compliment Kokichi or make fun of Kaito or anything!”
I mean, for not having meant to do that, you sure were making Kaito sound kind of pathetic, Tsumugi. Why would he not hypothetically be able to kill Kokichi just because Kokichi has been manipulative?
Monokuma:  “It’s time for the class trial, where hope and despair meet head-on!”
Welp, now that we’ve opened up the connection to the original Danganronpas, Monokuma is going to be throwing those words around like confetti.
Monokuma:  “Everyone needs to be there, got it!? Anyone who’s absent will be swiftly and permanently punished!”
Monokuma has to know that the survivor is inside the red Exisal, even if he doesn’t have a clue who it is. He didn’t see anyone leave the hangar last night, and there’s only one place in the hangar he could be hiding.
You really don’t need to threaten him to get him to come, though, Monokuma. He has no intention of running away from this.
Monokuma:  “I wonder what kinda despair awaits you this time!”
Yeah, you definitely do wonder, don’t you.
Tsumugi:  “This isn’t everyone… right?”
Shuichi:  “…Kaito and Kokichi aren’t here.”
I think you mean “or”, Shuichi. You have at least managed to accept that one of them is definitely dead.
Maki:  “As the mastermind of the killing game, he’s waiting for us to arrive.”
Shuichi:  “… We… don’t know that yet. There’s still a chance Kaito is alive.”
Maki:  “…Cut it out. Do you want to die?”
Maki still cannot bear to hear Shuichi talk like Kaito might be alive when she knows he isn’t.
Maki:  “This is a battle between hope and despair. If I show any weakness like you are… then I know I’ll lose to despair.”
Maki, you’re already in despair! You’re losing to it right now! Shuichi is winning against it because he’s still managing to hope that Kaito might be alive!
This is still Maki being brainwashed by the wrong meanings of those words and the idea that “despair” is a person who can be defeated, specifically Kokichi. That “defeating despair” is such a necessary outcome that it’s even worth sacrificing all of her friends to do. The “weakness” she’s afraid of showing is the thought that she might hesitate to sacrifice them and in doing so let despair “win”, just because Kokichi will live and Kaito will have died for nothing.
Maki:  “Six of us will participate, and one of us will die after this class trial… Then only five will be left. Only… five…”
She means this the other way around: one will survive, and five will die. She’s trying to psych herself up for making this sacrifice by telling herself that she’ll be killing only five more people, trying to make it seem like a tiny number compared to the countless people she’s already killed, trying to think of it as just a number and not four of her friends. She’s trying to tell herself it’ll be worth it.
Maki:  “But we can’t lose to despair. Even if we have no future, we need to win.”
If we have no future, we have nothing to hope for and we’ve already lost to despair! Danganronpa 2’s thing of insisting that the “future” was somehow an entirely different concept to “hope” was also very silly and misunderstanding the words, considering that their whole concept of the future was simply something that the characters were hoping for.
Maki:  “That is… the whole point of this class trial.”
Guhhh. It is to her, and it shouldn’t be.
(But the real point of this whole class trial is so that somebody can have his final chance to make a difference and be a hero.)
Maki:  “I will defeat Kokichi, no matter what I have to sacrifice.”
Maki Roll! It’s not worth it! Even if Kokichi really was the thoroughly evil mastermind he claimed to be, it still wouldn’t be! She’s been so completely taken in by the bullshit from the Flashback Light and then broken by her despair over killing Kaito and it’s heartbreaking. You don’t really want this at all, Maki.
Shuichi:  (No matter what she has to sacrifice? Are you sure about that, Maki? Is that what you call ‘hope’?)
Right, Shuichi!? It’s not hope, is it!?
Shuichi:  (I wonder what Kaito would say at a time like this. What would he say to us? If it was Kaito…)
The first thing he’d say is that he believes in you, of course! That’s still true, even if Kaito really is gone. It’s adorable (and a little heartbreaking) that Shuichi depends on his support so much that he’s just instinctively trying to turn to Kaito for help even though he’s not there.
Kaito would also have a lot of emphatic things to say to Maki about her current state of mind, things which should be able to get through to her and stop her from doing this. But of course Maki has not and cannot let herself consider what Kaito would be saying to her right now and what he would want for her. Thinking about how much he’s done for her and how grateful she was to him just hurts too much when she repaid it all by killing him.
Shuichi:  (We had lost the will to live, knowing what we know about the outside world. But somehow… despite that despair, we had found a new reason to live.)
Yeah. Somehow.
Shuichi:  (To win the battle between hope and despair.)
The way he talks about it like it’s a “battle” is probably one of the best ways to illustrate the issue with the meanings that the Flashback Light has been giving those words for them. They’ve essentially just become equivalent to “good” and “evil”, and therefore obviously the good guys just need to defeat the bad guys, right?
Shuichi:  (We don’t know what hope means to us anymore.)
You sure don’t, but not for the reason you appear to be thinking of here, Shuichi.
Shuichi:  (What is hope…? A burden you bear?)
In a way, it kind of is. Holding onto the hope for something you desperately want to be true, but not being certain of it (because as soon as it becomes certain then it’s not hope any more, just relief and happiness) comes with the constant terror that it’ll never happen after all and you’ll end up back in despair. The fact that Shuichi is thinking of it this way suggests that he knows this very well himself – after all, he’s been feeling like this for this entire investigation.
But also, if we’re talking about “hope” as being the thing you inspire others to feel, like they’re all supposed to have done as students of Hope’s Peak… then maybe that’s a burden too. You have to live up to your image of greatness in order to inspire people, right? That pressure to do that is one hell of a burden, and you can’t share it with anyone because if they knew you were struggling then you wouldn’t be able to inspire them any more!
(Why yes I totally did just make this about Kaito’s issues; what did you expect me to do when Shuichi invoked the word “burden” like that.)
The courtroom décor this time is a deliberate throwback to the very first trial from Danganronpa 1. Which just goes to show that everyone really is a bunch of mindlessly nostalgic genwunners, because that was one of the weakest trials in the series!
Monokuma:  “Ahh, a battle like this takes me back. After all, hope and despair are natural enemies.”
Are you sure you’re talking about hope and despair, Monokuma, or do you just mean good and evil as well?
Monokuma:  “Yes, this truly is a magnificent theme. Puhuhu… Only esteemed works of fiction have themes as magnificent as this.”
Geez, you were obvious about this being made for entertainment, but you were never this obvious about it being fiction, not even when Kokichi was still alive to pick up on your hints.
(Also, turns out truth versus lies is a much more fun theme than hope versus despair, so, eh, not really, Monokuma.)
Maki:  “Anyway… where’s Kokichi? Why isn’t he here?”
Maki was probably still hoping she could just murder him to death here with her knife right away to avoid having to go through with the sacrifice. Even though she was most likely also imagining he’d be expecting that and would have some way to protect himself.
Keebo:  “Kokichi can twist and violate the rules all he likes, but we’ll never give up!” […]
Monokuma:  “Oh, for the love of… No rules have been violated on my watch, y’know?”
Yeah, definitely none, not even in the first trial. And you sure won’t violate any this trial either, will you?
Shuichi:  (Was the one who died… Kaito or Kokichi? I can’t say for certain… but I still believe. …Kaito wouldn’t die so easily. I… don’t know why I believe that so strongly…)
Because Kaito is stubborn and indomitable and ridiculous, and it doesn’t seem right that he could just up and die such a sudden, meaningless death, does it? It wouldn’t be a good story befitting of a hero like him at all to just die like that, right?
Shuichi:  (But I will fight to prove it.)
He’s not here to survive, or to find the truth, like in every previous class trial. He just wants to prove his best friend is still alive.

Can I please get the DRV3 girls with a fem S/O who's the ultimate cat maid and takes there talent very serious.
Kaede Akamatsu
Oh god you were so cute!
A part of her wishes that you would stop with the cat puns though
But she knows that it’s practically apart of who you are
She might get a bit jealous seeing you serve other people
But you just have to remind her that it’s a part of your act and that you are the one she cares about the most
(If you pester her about it she’ll try on a pair of cat ears too)
(There’s no way she’s wearing the maid dress though no matter how much you beg!!)
She volunteers to play the piano at the cafe you work it, it’s a win win for both of you
She gets to spend more time with you and earn tips while you get more customers drawn in and get to fluster your girlfriend during working hours
Himiko Yumeno
You were absolutely perfect to her
Always happy to carry her around or get her food
She didn’t even have to lift a finger
Tbh sometimes she thought you were actually part cat, especially since you got the moving ears and tail
Expect lots and lots of headpats
Though she hates that you have to wake up early just about every morning to get ready
(She didn’t know you wore so much makeup.. And that hair could take that long)
If you give her a makeup she will blush lightly
(You make her look like a supermodel!)
Tenko Chabashira
Her face turns soo red seeing you for the first time
So.. so cute!!!!
Tenko is going to be super protective of you, making sure no degenerate taints her innocent S/O
(You might have to explain to her that she can not threaten people when you go to work)
She doesn’t understand how you feel comfortable with the constant attention
(Especially from the degenerates)
You have to promise her that you would defend yourself if any male customer tries to touch you during your work
Expects lots of training sessions
She just wants to make sure you know how to protect yourself!
(And that’s how you became a cute cat maid that knows martial arts)
Angie Yonaga
You were so caring and giving!
Always volunteering to help her out~
You’d be a perfect priestess for Atua
But you won’t sway from your cat maid path
She pouts but eventually spots pestering you about it
(Though she does invite you to some praying sessions)
However I hope you have a lot of spare dresses handy, since Angie loves to tackle you in hugs but often forgets about the paints covering her
She’ll apologize but constantly forgets to make sure her clothes are clean before hugging you
(Thankfully you have Kirumi to help you get the stains out)
Miu Iruma
You know the first thing she says seeing you is something inappropriate
(“Hey! Is that one of those tails~?” or something similar)
But god seeing you constantly wear the maid dress always makes her mind go to the gutters
You look so fucking hot in it and if you bend down there was just a hint of cleavage
However since you need to be super friendly and chatty for your job, be expected to constantly reassure Miu
Not that she would ever admit but she does feel insecure sometimes
She’s going to make you tons of inventions to help out with your job
(If you call her Master or anything similar she will melt)
(Also it would make her really happy if you wore a cat collar with a small tag that reads ‘Belongs to Miu Iruma’)
Maki Harukawa
She kinda just stares at you the first time
Just… what the hell were you wearing?
And why are you acting so.. Friendly??
Honestly she thinks your outfit is kinda stupid but it makes you happy so she doesn’t mind
What she does mind is some of the looks you get for it, she glares them back letting them know that you are taken
Honestly it’ll take a while for her to realize her feelings for you and she’s a bit unsure of what to do
She wakes up early by habit and doesn’t mind helping you get ready
She’s also happy to test any new recipes or drink ideas you have
(Don’t worry she’ll give you an honest opinion about it)
Tsumugi Shirogane
She practically let’s out a fangirl scream seeing you
She’s such a huge fan!!
She’s been following you ever since you entered the maid industry
Get ready to cosplay basically every maid in anime ever
(Cough Nekopara cosplay cough)
She always has new ideas of how you can change your outfit or the personas you put on for guests
Will probably stay up multiple nights to make you a new outfit
Or at least attempt to if you don’t stop her
(Here’s a hint, kisses would distract her from sewing)
Kirumi Tojo
My my your talent seems to be similar to hers but yet you act so different
She was calm and collected and you were bubbly and chatty
It’ll take her a while but eventually she’ll let you help her with some chores
It becomes a morning ritual to have her help doing your hair, and then you make breakfast for the both of you
(It was hard to get Kirumi used to that, you have to start simple with like a cup of tea or something small)
Both of you could be rather busy during the day, but it’s worth it
During nights the two of you simply cover in bed enjoying this quiet times together
Getting either of you to take a day off is almost impossible
(The only thing that would distract either of you from work is if something happened to one of you)
If you ask, she will wear cat ears with her regular outfit
(You squeal so loudly saying how the two of you match and she can’t help but smile)

How would the NDRV3 kids (minutes Gonta and Shinguuji of course) react if they somehow found out about the Shinguuji+Gonta/fem!SO bondage relationship?
I love that you guys are so interested in this pair! This Request is based on a series of imagines I’ve written, you can find those here! Enjoy!
This isn’t that NSFW, but some NSFW themes below!!
Original | Part 2: Someone breaks into their home | Part 3: Kidnapping roleplay
V3 Cast Finding Out About Gonta Gokuhara x Fem!S/O x Korekiyo Shinguuji’s Bondage Relationship!
Kaede Akamatsu
Kaede would find out about your… special relationship bycomplete accident. Since she is close friends with Gonta, they talk in class frequently when they have downtime. Somehow, the topic of relationships came up in conversation and he started talking about you, accidentally mentioning Korekiyo’s name as well.
Confused, Kaede draws in her eyebrows and questions him. Korekiyo overhears this, and before he gets the chance to step in, Gonta realizes what he says and, well, he can’t keep his mouth shut.
She would immediately turn red-faced and become incredibly flustered, dropping her pencil and her bag frantically as she apologized, insisting that she didn’t mean to bring up any private ‘activities.’
When Kaede gets uncomfortable, she can’t help but to giggle, and she couldn’t hold them back. Korekiyo’s intervention only made her more uncomfortable and intensified her blush.
She definitely wouldn’t judge you, and would make sure that everything is consensual and healthy. Sure, Kaede would be shocked and unsure of how to react, but she would still be supportive of her friends.
She’s more embarrassed for her sake than yours since she feels like she crossed a line and heard some details about your intimacy that she definitely didn’t want to know.
It takes Kaede a long time to finally be able to look any of you in the eye again, quickly apologizing and blushing whenever she saw you three together… the image is burned into her memory.
But she won’t shame or belittle you. People like what they like.
Saihara Shuichi
Saihara would probably find out onhis own. He would be able to use his Detective abilities to analyze theirbehavior and tell that something was wrong. Since you were in a different class from Gonta and Korekiyo, he started to worry that something was happening between those two and wanted to warn you about it, like a good friend would.
He’s seen the two men flirting in class, but they always tried to hide it. Saihara could read them like a book, though, and he knew that if he was in your position, he’d want to know. Still, he was surprised that someone like Gonta would be unfaithful.
So, he approaches you after school one day before Gonta left and told you what he saw - about their quick touches and too close for comfort contact that certainly wasn’t just platonic.
As soon as he brings it up, you start blushing furiously. Not long afterwards, Gonta joins you and Saihara gives him a dirty look. You do your best to diffuse the situation, but things escalate from there.
Before the two can start arguing, you cut it off. “No, Shuichi! It isn’t what it looks like… I know about it and, well, we have a… relationship, strictly for intimate purposes and-”
That’s when he cuts you off, Saihara’s jaw dropping. Did he just hear you correctly? Oh boy, his Detective brain really over-thought the situation and now he’s embarrassed.
Regardless, he’d be a little bit stunned at first. He was one of the biggestsupporters of yours and Gonta’s relationship, but he thought that this was abit too extreme for him.
It’s not his place to judge, he just sometimes wished he didn’t figure it out in the first place. Curse his talent.
Maki Harukawa
Maki finds out about your bondage relationship by complete accident and it was totally unintentional. She doesn’t try breaching people’s privacy by listening to their private conversations, but sometimes she catches wind of things she doesn’t want to hear.
The three of you gathered in the classroom before anyone else had arrived. Unbeknownst to you, Maki arrived a few minutes later and quietly sat outside of the classroom as she read a book.
You talked about your relationship freely since you didn’t think anyone else was around. Maki’s face twisted into a disgusted, perplexed expression as she wasn’t entirely sure she was hearing things right.
She slowly stands and peeks her head into the room to announce her presence, and the three of you stopped immediately, your faces turning pale. You could tell by her reaction that she definitely overheard what you were saying.
Maki would be grossed out, not fully believing what she heard. She recognized that that was a normal thing, but she didn’t expect that from you three, especially. (Well, maybe Korekiyo, but still.)
Gonta immediately tried apologizing to her and instead she dismissively raised her hand and started backing away, leaving the room and walking down the hall without another word. “I don’t want to know, don’t apologize, just keep that to yourselves.”
She then tells you to keep away from her and you can feel her judging stare once class started. Maki melted into her seat and desperately tried to forget about what she heard.
Ouma Kokichi
Since Ouma and Gonta are friends, he’d probably find out through him directly. Gonta doesn’t fully understand the idea of boundaries and, although sharing is caring, he doesn’t realize that some things are better kept to yourself.
“Hey, Gonta, how are you and (Y/N)?” Ouma asks positively, looking for any way to tease him. Although, it was a genuine question since he cared about the large man more than most of your classmates, he just liked giving him Hell if the opportunity arises.
“Gonta and Korekiyo are fine!” He responds with a cheery smile, mishearing the smaller man and not realizing what he said. This caught Ouma’s attention, who latched onto the misstep and questioned him.
“What did you just say?” A sly smirk appearing on his face. Just then, it finally hit Gonta and he tried to cover up the mistake.
“N-nothing!” He responds frantically, but that won’t cut it with Ouma. He started to pry, and you intervened and dragged your boyfriend away from him before he said anything else on accident.
Regardless, Ouma is smart and he put the pieces together eventually. He was sharper than you’d like to admit, so he could instantly tell what was going on between you three.
He would probably start laughing uncontrollably, followed by a lot of teasing. Wiping a tear from his eye, he would pinch himself because he couldn’t believe it. From then on, you had to deal with plenty of snide comments from Ouma who clearly judged you, teasing and tormenting you as he used the relationship to blackmail each of you.
“People like freaky shit, what can I say?” He smirks, pretending as if he didn’t have some strong opinions, but you knew he did.
Himiko Yumeno
She had been trying to concoct some new ‘spells and potions’ that she insisted would work, and used Gonta as her voluntary test subject. Himiko told him that she had a potion that would get him to spill his deepest secrets, when in reality, she just liquidized laughing gas.
But Gonta didn’t know that and started to feel the side-effects very quickly. You were hesitant about Himiko’s so-called potion but you never thought it would actually work.
That’s when he started to ramble on about your relationship, dropping Korekiyo’s name, which caused suspicions to arise. Himiko tilted her head and questioned him, “Huh? Kiyo?”
“Yeah… Korekiyo, (Y/N) and Gonta have a special relationship…” You watched helplessly in horror as he spilled all of the details about the adult things you three did together.
Himiko quickly covered her ears and panicked, backing away from Gonta as she frantically tried to find a spell that would bring him back to his senses. She definitely wasn’t a fan and didn’t want to hear about that sort of thing.
“Nyeh! I wish I could cast a spell onmyself to forget I ever knew about this!” She exclaims as she runs around her Lab, trying desperately to find a cure. Himiko ended up convincing herself that it was all a dream, but you think she was just going into denial.
She started to laugh awkwardly since she got uncomfortable and refused to look at any of you for a long time after that. Anytime she was around you, she would blush and avoid eye-contact.
You felt bad, like you had stolen her innocence.
Rantaro Amami
Rantaro would probably makeassumptions and be able to put two and two together. He sees through all of the interactions between Gonta and Korekiyo, and can tell that something more is going on.
He would become protective over you, his brotherly instincts kicking in since he views you like he does his sisters. Rantaro would approach you and ask you directly if you knew about their relationship.
Your face was flushed as soon as he mentioned it, although you didn’t think Rantaro knew the extent of it all. Wordlessly, you nodded your head which caused some alarms to go off in his mind.
He originally just wanted to make sure that Gonta wasn’t being unfaithful to avoid you getting hurt in the future, but now he’s curious.
Knowing how sly he is, you were certain that he would figure it out eventually. You’ve always been able to trust Rantaro, so you preface it by asking him not to tell a soul, and after he makes a pinkey-promise, you tell him the basics.
He’d be a little bit surprised at first, his eyebrows rising. “Really?” Honestly, he was at a loss for words.
He’s chill though. Rantaro isn’t the type to judge others for what they do behind closed doors and he would be extremely supportive of you. He doesn’t tell Gonta or Korekiyo that he knows to maintain your friendship, and he keeps your secret safe.
Rantaro simply makes sure everything and everyone involved is safe and consensual above all else, and that you were happy. Otherwise, why should he care?
That’s all that matters
Tenko Chabashira
Out of everyone, she’s one of the last people you would want to tell about your relationship. She doesn’t mind Gonta as much as other men since he strives towards being a gentleman, but it still took her a long time to accept him and your romantic relationship.
She didn’t need to know what you did in the privacy of your own homes. With that said, Tenko finds out accidentally.
She would overhear your conversation before school started one day as she passed by your classroom. You weren’t in the same class as the boys, so she was visiting you. It wasn’t strange to see Gonta in your classroom, but why was Korekiyo there?
Curiosity killed the cat, and Tenko lingered in the hallway to try to find out for herself. Needless to say, she heard some things she didn’t want to hear and caused a scene.
Tenko isn’t going to be the mostunderstanding. You try to settle her down and explain yourself, but she’s not listening.
She always found Gonta to be much more tolerable than most men, mainly since you convinced her that he wasn’t so bad. But Korekiyo… he’s always given her the creeps. Why him of all people?
“Two degenerate males?! How could you?!” She exclaims, pointing fingers at them. They both try to calm her down but to no avail.
She would come across as pretty rude, but in the end she just wants to make sure that you’re happy. And if you are then she can tolerate your after school activities…
Tenko just doesn’t want to hear about it. Ever.
Kiibo
Kiibo has a heart of gold and he liked all three of you, considering you to be his friends. He was the closest to you, though, and he liked hearing about your relationship with Gonta. He always wished he could love the same way humans could, so he lived vicariously through you.
On a slip of the tongue, you would drop Korekiyo’s name which caused some confusion. “Korekiyo? Don’t you mean Gonta?” The Robot asked with a very lost expression on his face.
You tried hiding your blush as you correct yourself, making up some excuse but Kiibo sees through it.
Between your panicky words and behavior and his functions that allowed him to easily tell when others were lying, he quickly realized why you said Korekiyo’s name but didn’t want to believe it.
Kiibo would be a bit blunt, to say the least, and ask if he was ever involved in your relationship. With a nod, you start explaining how he became a part of yours and Gonta’s dynamic and perhaps you were too specific with details.
Kiibo would probably panic and shut off, his eyes turning into static and his system becoming unresponsive. He just… stopped working. You freaked out and tried finding the switch to turn him back on or restart him, but he didn’t want to be bothered.
When he finally comes to, Kiibo asks you to never speak of those things ever again. That’s a promise you have no issue with keeping, and from then on he tried acting as though everything was normal.
But Kiibo can’t forget, he’s memory drive doesn’t allow it, so now he’s scarred for life. Still, he’ll do his best to be okay with it as long as everything was consensual, blushing as he spoke about it.
Miu Iruma
I mean… it’s Miu.
She wouldn’t care about your relationship all that much and was instead more interested in your sex life, which isn’t surprising. Although she had good intentions and it was just sheer curiosity, she came across as a little bit too pushy.
She’d talk to you before class started, sitting backwards in her chair and leaning all too close as she interrogated you. “So, how’s Gonta?”
You didn’t pick up on her remarks at first until she started getting specific, asking about the different things you guys have ‘tried out’. Although you wanted to avoid answering such personal questions, Miu just wouldn’t let up. You give her a very vague answer and ask her to drop it.
Apparently you answer wasn’t vague enough and hinted at a third-party. She raised her brow and asked, “What do you mean? You don’t have threesomes, do you? Perverts!”
As soon as she said that, your face turned bright red. Even though she was joking, Miu could sense that she had stricken a chord and immediately burst into laughter. “No way! With who?!”
Your eyes subconsciously drifted over to Korekiyo without you even realizing it, and that sent her into an even louder fit of laughter.
Miu would love it, getting a real kick out of it and teased you. From then on, she made plenty of comments about your sexual relationship and would try checking up from time to time, though you didn’t really want to answer and she’s the last person you wanted to talk about this with.
“I didn’t know you were a bunch of freaks!” Miu exclaims, causing you to melt into your chair with embarrassment.
Kaito Momota
Kaito tends to have his head up in space, and he thinks he’s more of a ladies man than what he really is.
He would start by asking Gonta about yourrelationship, not intending to turn it into a sexual conversation at all. He was genuinely curious since Gonta was new to the dating world and Kaito was ready to give him some relationship advice.
Happily, Gonta told him that Korekiyo already had that covered. Confused, Kaito questioned him and commented, “I never took Kiyo as being much of a savant when it comes to the ladies.”
Then, Gonta accidentally blurted out a rather incriminating sentence about your bondage relationship. The Astronaut didn’t catch it at first, but when it finally settled in, he was stunned.
“Wait, what the fuck?!” He didn’t intend to come across as rude, but he couldn’t hold it back. His face turned red and Kaito started to get more flustered.
Gonta frantically tried to apologize and asked Kaito to forget everything that was said. With a thumbs-up, he told him he would try and promptly excused himself from Gonta’s general area, needing to catch some air.
He would be as supportive as possible, but if the subject did arise then he would become a bit embarrassed. As confident as he was and as much as he thought he was an expert in this field, Kaito didn’t want to hear all the details about what you three did together.
Angie Yonaga
You always thought Angie was an oblivious ball of sunshine, but maybe she wasn’t as clueless as you pegged her to be.
She started making comments about sexuality and compared them to her religious beliefs. Typically speaking, Angie was quite accepting and didn’t really judge others based on what they did in their spare time. As far as she’s concerned, that was none of her business.
While lecturing Ouma about Atua and her morals, he brought the topic of sexuality up. Angie made a comment about how Atua doesn’t really care what people do with their bodies, and since you and your boyfriend were an earshot away, she suddenly turned to you and asked, “Isn’t that right, Gonta and (Y/N)?”
The comment caught you off-guard, and in a half-asleep daze you added, “and Korekiyo.”
Now Angie was the one who was stunned. She blinks a few times, her eyes widening as she made the connection and started asking you for details. As soon as you realized what you said, you blushed and tried to cover it up, but she wasn’t convinced.
"Oh, that’s so sinful~!” Angie says with a bright smile on her face, before adding, “Just remember, Atua is always watching!”
That sentence really got under your skin and caused you to roll your eyes. Angie didn’t really mind and found it more humorous than anything else.
However, she did offer to sit in on one of your sessions so she could paint you three in the nude - you definitely weren’t taking her up on it, though.
Kirumi Tojo
Kirumi is fairly old-fashioned and doesn’t talk about these kinds of things very often. They’re never brought up which is perfectly fine as far as you’re concerned.
Korekiyo recently hired her to help him clean up his place, so she’s been visiting him and working as his Maid for quite some time now. She didn’t mind, she was happy to help a classmate out. Both you and Gonta knew about this but never thought it would be an interference.
She stopped by that morning before you two showed up, but happened to forget one of her personal belongings in Korekiyo’s home. Since he had given her a spare key, she gladly let herself in and walked towards the bedroom where she left it.
Well, you know where this is going.
Kirumi cracked the door and just briefly saw the scene that was unfolding, stopping dead in her tracks as she gasped and covered her mouth, quickly shutting the door and frantically apologizing from behind it.
She became extremely flustered and her entire face was red, so Korekiyo comforted her as he loosely got dressed and excused himself from your session. You and Gonta, on the other hand, hid under the covers in embarrassment, hoping that she didn’t see too much.
Kirumi respects other couple’s boundaries and acknowledges that that is a normal part of life, so she doesn’t judge you too harshly. She was just more shocked and embarrassed than anything else.
She asks you to give her a warning next time and tries to forget all about it by the next day.
Tsumugi Shirogane
Tsumugi didn’t want to know, but things happen.
Korekiyo was holding a house-warming party and most of your class showed up. In his home, he had two closets: one where he kept the clothes we wore, and one for… other things.
Since she’s so interested in cosplay and fashion, Tsumugi couldn’t help herself. Korekiyo took you and Gonta aside while everyone else was in the other room to show you where he relocated your ‘things.’
And of course, she overheard him talking about it. Out of curiosity, she slipped into his room after you three parted ways to find out what the hype was about. She thought he was hiding something new and exciting, like a cultural costume of some kind, but no…
When Tsumugi peered inside the closet to see all of the assorted goods and items you used during your sessions, her jaw dropped and her eyes widened, a blush forming on her cheeks.
At first, she freaked out and caused a scene. Korekiyo promptly tried to shut it down before she brought anyone else’s attention to your secret relationship, so he had to cover her mouth.
After the initial shock subsided, Tsumugi got all hot and bothered. “I knew you were a freak Korekiyo, but wow!” She says with glazed eyes. It was a bit disturbing, to say the least.
She just had so many questions about your relationship and what you three did together! She was genuinely curious, but Korekiyo refused to oblige. It made your friendship a bit strange and she started giving you odd looks whenever the three of you were together, but was generally supportive. (Maybe a bit too supportive, at that.)
Ryoma Hoshi
You can usually talk about these kinds of things around Ryoma since he doesn’t normally pay attention. He’s typically off in his own little world, his mind wandering into new places.
Sometimes you forget he’s even there. Ryoma is so quiet and Gonta is so careless that he started to openly talk about your relationship, forgetting that he was sitting just an earshot away and could easily hear whatever was being said.
He doesn’t usually like to snoop on others, but he happened to overhear this particular conversation and Ryoma’s eyes immediately went wide.
He really didn’t know what to think, never suspecting you three of something like that. He turned his head to stare at you, and Gonta’s heart sank instantly after he realized that he was being too loud and abrasive.
Although you tried to step in and apologize before things got too out of hand, Ryoma wordlessly stood and gathered his belongings, instead apologizing for the intrusion and excused himself.
As you called out for him to wait so you could explain, but he raised his hand dismissively and started to walk faster. “I don’t need an apology or an explanation, I’ve already heard too much and I don’t want to know any more, thank you.”
“But wait!” You insist; Ryoma just wasn’t having it. “No, it’s really my bad, I shouldn’t have been listening!”
He insists that he’s supportive and that he doesn’t care, but anytime he makes eye contact with any of you, he starts to immediately blush and becomes uncomfortable.
