Ive been thinking a lot abt the constant native survivors, and it's kind of lead me to hcing that all of them had first spent extended time with some other survivor, enough so to get taken note of, meaning the first time they died they were placed into their own fun endless cycle of death and suffering woo. I mainly just like this idea because it would mean each of them, including ds exclusive characters, get to have a notable relationship with at least one other survivor as the first they met. For Wurt it was probably just Wickerbottom and she and Wortox probably got it the easiest since ghosts are a thing in dst, but the folks who are from ds have a lot more wiggle room for some fun stories. Ive already mentioned my Wheeler and Wormwood hcs a few times very vaguely, but I've also been thinking abt Walani just leaning over Wilbur and going damn bro that sucks wanna hit some waves. And by process of elimination based on my own sanity woodlegs gets Wilba now worst uncle niece duo you've ever met (affectionate)

girl u r so misery irony poisoned and playing further and further into tht mindset and spending time with people with tht mindset bc u blatantly hate being vulnerable and open to the point of pushing away someone whos told you time and time again tht its okay to be open and vulnerable with them and that theyd be with you as long as it took for you to be vunerable having lied to them by saying vulnerable things and acting vulnerable in ways u didnt even mean then taking them back after pushing them out of your life without ever having the courage to admit the obvious reason that its that you have issues with being vulnerable that you have to work on in order to have proper relationships with others its insane

Now I'm not saying I'm thinking of writing a Steddie Midnight Mass AU
But
Imagine Hawkins, a little idyllic town in the middle of nowhere, so out of ways from any other community for miles, only surrounded by trees. It's small and cozy and it brims with simplicity.
It's been years since Steve came home. He was never supposed to come back.
His family obviously did not greet him; instead they go to the church more often than not, just to avoid him. He saw the kids, happy and healthy and definitely older, the weight of life starting to bear down on them. And then to his own surprise, he saw Eddie. He wasn't supposed to come back either.
Eddie claimed it was because of Uncle Wayne, but even Wayne was confused. Soon enough, Steve became suspicious. Because Eddie was spending a lot of time at church, with his parents - always away at night.
That's the thing, too. Night time was different. Everything was so still and it sent shivers down Steve's back because he could feel something watching him.
He started reconnecting with Eddie, trying to figure out what's going on - why he's back when they promised each other that this town was far from anything they ever needed. But maybe it was the thing they needed to come back to each other.
Meanwhile, Hopper found dead animals around the perimeter of the town, El's been acting weirder than usual, Will felt the shift in the air, and maybe Nancy could figure it all out like she usually does - before it was too late.
Is there a second chance amidst all the darkness surrounding this town of Hawkins? Or will it be consumed by its demons, preying at night?
