The double standards Konoha and fandom generally has when it comes to Uchihas, for example - Asuma’s death. Apparently, Shikamaru is allowed to grieve over his teacher’s death and be unreasonable and lead Choji and Ino against the people they had no chance against. Shikamaru may have had plan against Hidan, but he had no idea about Kakuzu’s abilities. Sure, he planned to get Hidan’s jutsu to kill Kakuzu, but without Kakashi, who got added to his team on last second, Ino and Choji would be long dead before Shikamaru’s plan came into action. Everyone supports and understands him. But now, when Sasuke is grieving over his family and wants a revenge, whole village (and fandom) is calling him a wuss. Where was Kakashi’s famous speech about how he had it worse when he offered his help to Shikamaru’s team? He never showed any intention to support Sasuke about killing Itachi, like he did with Shikamaru. He literally said: “Sasuke quit seeking revenge, even if you success, you’ll be left with emptiness in the end,” of course, it sounds wise, but then Kakashi goes and offers his help to other team for a revenge mission. Why? Itachi was a criminal just like Hidan and Kakuzu, member of Akatsuki. Did Itachi cause less grief for Sasuke than Hidan did for Shikamaru? Why was it so wrong to go after Itachi like they did with Hidan? There is no arguing that Itachi is worse opponent, but that had never been anyone’s point. The only thing everyone droned about was that Sasuke had to give up on revenge, forget about his massacred clan and play house in Konoha like nothing bad had ever happened. Another example would be how everyone says how Sasuke doesn't deserve forgiveness or happiness after everything he had done. What had he done so bad actually? Are we still going on about killing few samurai in a battle? Well, remember Gaara, who used to kill everyone simply for the sake of it. He wasn't on his right mind? Surprise, neither was Sasuke at kage's summit, he was finally going to face man who had ordered his family's death, too bad he wasn't all logical. Gaara could be redeemed for his killing spree, but not Sasuke. Sasuke, who got rid of two akatsuki members, sealed Orochimaru and put end to his experiments and torture (until konoha embraced Orochimaru back, because he was bad but at least he didn't kill samurai). Not to forget how Sasuke did Konoha a huge favor and got rid of Danzo, and I'm not gonna talk about how helped Naruto to save the world, but who says thank you? Nope, no one.

I just watched the movie bonds and shino single handedly destroyed like three warships, avenged the attack on Konoha and then he just he just walks out of the water like a goddamn bond girl in an episode of ex on the beach and i was like ???????? well i guess the movie ends here ?????????

after that I didn’t even wanna know what happened to naruto, i just enjoyed me some badass shino and sai, some mild badass shikamaru and some lazyass kakashi that did nothing the whole time, sasuke's and naruto's sexual tension was on the background after that

look I love Shikamaru and Temari's relationship, they are probably my favorite canon ship in the whole franchise - but as a ShikaNaru truther I find it very interesting that Shikamaru ended up with a blonde haired, blue eyed, babe with wind nature chakra and a close connection to a tailed beast, as well as a complicated family situation hinging on the fact that their father was a kage who sealed a tailed beast into his infant son in a move that ultimately killed the mother.

warm naruto take i feel like shikanaruhina is underrated as a trio. i feel like they’re like all the perfect balance and perfect material for character development and dynamics n maybe some shenanigans w the inclusion of Kakashi.

They all have the potential to bring out specific traits in each other their personalities cancel each other out too and they all immediately have something to contribute too and i feel like it’d be so healthy with healthy development instead of turbulent then peaceful ykwim ??

what each brings to the table

Shikamaru — clear thought, common sense, rationale, calm attitude

Hinata — patience, encouragement, thoughtfulness

Naruto — outgoing, encouragement, plenty of energy to share w his quieter/lazier counterparts, always pushing to improve

There is a pause, and, for the briefest moment, he is unsure if she even remembers what they were discussing. But then her lips come off her straw with a pop and she pushes her glass, now only ice, forward. A sheen of sweat on her temple reflects the lights above her.

“From you? I’m not sure,” Temari continues. “We had some pretty great sex though.”

He almost chokes.

“Yeah,” he breathes, mouth dry.

Forever thinking of the OC I made for them way before the epilogue chap came out. A beloved redheaded daughter with one green Temari eye and one dark Nara eye who was constantly fighting with her shadow jutsu bc she doesn't have the patience to learn it and would rather just swing a fan around and send everyone flying

Her dream job is being a city guard ~~~~ The old name I had for her when I was 12 sucked so we're changing it to Akino which means both 'autumn/fall' and 'clever, intelligent, wise'

The words fell easily from her mouth, almost proudly, and before she could fully acknowledge them, she saw Kakashi nod.

“Good kid,” he said, then shook his head and swung his bananas about his finger as he turned away. “Good man.”

Inoichi's last moments haunt me to this day and age 'cause he really told Ino that he was the most proud of her "compassion and caring attitude towards her friends".

That's because:

Inoichi told her she embodied the Yamanaka will perfectly be as it reads from the flower language of their clan. After all, their family crest is the purple bush clover.

And I need to suppress my screaming but— Ino thought the flower meant optimistic love, okay? So she thought his dad was speaking of Sasuke. I can almost see how it could have become some nonsense moment of "you need to fight for the boy of your dreams and never lose hope" for a female character.

But it was not.

All along, the thing Inoichi was the proudest of was Ino's friendship with Sakura.

CAN YOU HEAR ME SCREAM NOW?!?!

In my opinion this moment is everything, because it shows that Ino was mistaken about what was expected of her, at least when it came to bloom into something worthy of the Yamanaka flower crest. She thought it was about a boy, that it was about romantic love, but it was not.

From the beginning she had been enough, worthy of her clan. She was as good as she was, loud and courageous and outspoken, the type of kid who would look at another girl being bullied, a girl full of bruises and mud and who shame, and would step in her favor.

Just like Shikamaru in the Forest of Death, Ino's dad knew what her most valuable bond (outside of her own team was). Clue: it was not Sasuke.

I think Sakura should get to swear. When she was a kid and trying for ladylike she didn't (only when she thought no-one would hear! and it made her feel very giddy and naughty when she did) but when she grows older yeah totally it doesn't register.

which inevitably leads to Ino having thoughts about hearing Sakura say fuck. thoughts she isn't thinking about! but that Shikamaru is hearing way more than he wants about.
