Eddie’s biological father wasn’t there when Eddie was born, but Wayne was. He was the one who drove Eddie’s mom to the hospital and promised to stay in the room with her until his brother got there. And then when his brother was a deadbeat again and either was unreachable or didn’t want to be reached, Wayne was the one getting his hand crushed while she pushed. And he was the first one outside of doctors and her to hold Eddie. He was the one assuring her that Edward Munson suited him when she gave up on trying to wait for his dad to show up and agree on a name, so she finalized it herself

Wayne was the one taking kid Eddie for a fun movie night when things got bad at home and he thought maybe Eddie should stay at his place for a night or two

Wayne was the one pissed at his own brother for forgetting his own kid’s birthday and giving him the gift that he’d bought to give Eddie himself to say it was from him so that Eddie wouldn’t have to find out that his dad hadn’t gotten him anything

Wayne was the one showing up to the middle school talent show when he usually would have been sleeping before his night shift at that hour because he didn’t want Eddie being disappointed that no one came when he knew there was a 98% chance his brother wouldn’t make it, whether he claimed he would or not. And when he knew that Eddie’s mom had long since shut down and left emotionally, even if she was still physically there, and that he hadn’t been able to stop that but he could at least be someone still there and not letting him down too

I feel like Wayne would feel so awkward trying to talk any kind of feelings and he’d be constantly worried he wasn’t doing enough and didn’t know how to help Eddie and his mom, but he did his best to try to make up for his brother’s shortcomings and be there for them. And as quiet and awkward as Wayne would be whenever anything involving feelings came up, he would still be Eddie’s rock for all the ways he showed he cared and just showed up in general. I fully see him a man of few words but many actions that felt little and like not enough to him, but added up to be a big thing to Eddie

I’m sorry but (I really am sorry don’t come for me) people who were disappointed at the season finale atp are doing it just to piss me off. Like ok, I get it, lots of things were changed during the first season and it wasn’t what you expected, but the season finale was by far the episode more faithful to the books except, maybe, the first two (and I still think the SF was better).

We had everything, the fights weren’t underwhelming, the betrayal hurt even more, we had Gabe turning into stone for you who spent the last 7 weeks bitching that they were gonna change Gabe’s arc, the conversation between Poseidon and Percy literally had a quote from the book WORD BY WORD. They gave you everything you wanted. At this point, if you’re STILL gonna bitch about idk the tree not being the right shade of green, please just stop watching. Please. It’s getting fucking annoying. If you want to rip the show apart at least make sense of your critiques.

I think that YouTube was better when only views & likes/dislikes were measured rather than how long people watch through a video in one sitting. This is partially what killed off rick rolling and mostly killed off creativity and long-form content as well as variety on the platform. They measure video analytics a similar way to how Netflix measures if a show deserves more seasons or not, how much of the entire season (or in this case, video) was watched in one sitting within those 24-48 initial release hours. Absolute worse content analytics change to be normalized on the internet.

I also miss when liked videos didn’t have a cap on how many likes you could have, but I’m not sure if that was always a thing or only a change implemented in recent years to cut back on data storage costs.

wrote all of this b4 seeing how max’s rejection letter explicitly talks about graduate school, so take it w/ a grain of salt. but i still think it makes a plausible case.

showing means more than straight up telling in my opinion, and the writers did a terrible job at conveying that laura + max were supposed to be going into grad school. so here

gonna be talking about this response, ill be referring to the post linked. unless its SPECIFICALLY stated that laura is a college graduate and i just somehow missed it entirely, then ignore this whole thing i guesss

anywho, based on the information given to us IN GAME, there's little to no way that we're meant to interpret laura + max as already graduated college students. (JUST based on how they speak about school, i mean). especially when its said that max is entering school as undecided. and, correct me if im wrong, but i dont believe you're able to graduate undergrad school STILL without a major! i think the most that will happen is the school graduating you as liberal arts, but laura explicitly talks about max being undecided + him needing to pick a diverse set of classes because of that.

and based on the post im currently referring to, its said that both laura and max are currently going into college for their masters / doctorate degrees. which IS possible, except for the existence of max’s undecided major still. in order to get a masters (and ESP a doctorate i assume), you must have prerequisite courses under your belt and so forth to even qualify. youre not able to strive for a masters or doctorate without knowing what you wanna major in! at the very least, max going into his second college experience just doesnt make any sense.

and this is very much so subjective but, the way they both talk about it? it reallt does not seem like theyve already encountered 4 whole years of college. plus laura LITERALLY says that she just needs "the classes that'll let [her] major in veterinary sciences." if she was in school for her postgrad degree then she would already have her major all set and confirmed, would she not????????? YES the writers or whatesvesrg or WHOEVER may have "wanted" both laura and max gto be in their early twenties with a bachelors degree, but trhe game has several pieces of evidence that go against it!

so, no, you can't blame people for seeing both laura and max as fresh out of highschool! because the game SUPPORTS that theory! with ttheir talk surroundning college and the fact that the other counselors are STILL TEENAGERS....

in conclusion. the quarry really droppped the ball w/ this one LOL. i couldn't give less of a fuck if you still see them as 21 / 22, do whatever you want i guess, just don’t be dicks about it. and please be AWARE of how and why someone may think otherwise, especially when this scene in chapter 7 exists and provides much more than needed for us to make a plausible inference. because nothing they say aligns with them being postgrad students, nothing makes any goddamn sense and it pisses me off!!!!!!
