What are some of your favorite pieces of art/ art that has made you think a lot?
this is such a cheesy cop-out answer, but there's a lot of things that im going to struggle remembering because of 1. how situational the experience was (as in, the context in which i experienced the piece) 2. how wide the word "art piece" is. 3. the great fortune to have been born to parents with strong artistic sensibilities and a love of travel/education. so these are like. really weird and specific but maybe thats the way it should be:
let's start with the most overly dramatic: st. paul's cathedral in london has guided tours where they take you into rooms and let you mill around before moving to the next one. my family took a trip overseas as a really, really big special vacation to celebrate my sister and i graduating from high school (we're not twins, we just combo'd it after she graduated) that i was too brain-broken and teenage to fully appreciate. its a beautiful cathedral but i was in my edgy internet atheist stage and refused to be impressed by it until i stood over a grate in the floor. through the grates you can see the crypt that you visit next. but standing over the grate, someone below started to sing something hymnal and very catholic. and i realized i was the only one who could hear it because of the crowd chatter. and it made me feel, in the moment, so special and so lonely in a way that i still think about, a lot. it was for me only. divine providence.
a date with adam to a place i had no idea existed but he had been to before: the bad art museum, which is split over like 3 different buildings in a bizarre way. we only went to the one where you have to buy a ticket to a movie as entry and it was some truly lovely bad art and made me sad how inaccessible it was but resolute about my love of the nuances of uncelebrated anti-art masterpieces. then we watched "assassination nation" and it was fucking terrible. great date.
reading the theory regarding the "venus of willendorf" being a self portrait as a 20-something year old and running into the bathroom to take my clothes off and look down at myself and having my mind blown. not just by how much i instantly understood it, but because of the tugging feeling on my heart when i feel that strand of history connecting women artists driven by that unknown compulsion to create for creations sake!
similarly, seeing artemisia gentileschi's work next to her fathers and realizing how much she outclassed him in every single way and feeling the tugging feeling again, but this time with a dark woe of realization of how history minimizes achievement and talent when it eases a narrative
reading jane erye's descriptions of herself and her approaches to her plights and for the first time feeling like someone had walked a path that i currently found myself lost on.
reading 1984 as a middle schooler and becoming so angry at the ending i threw the book across the room (something i had never done before and never did again in my life) and stormed out of my room to complain to my mom lol. IT REALLY UPSET ME!!!
reading les miserables for the first time and weeping piteously for days after the ending and having it impact my brain so hard it re-wired how i think about the concept of "legacy" and what it means to matter in the world and how love is nothing without the courage to stand up for it. and that mercy should, and will, always supersede unwavering justice (hard lesson to remember, maybe im due for a re-read)
sneaking into my parents room to read the books i wasnt supposed to yet as a really little kid lol. my mom used to get "dykes to watch out for" in a newsletter she was subscribed to! but i didnt read those bc they were dumb relationship comics for grown-ups. i wanted to read about opus the penguin and lee iacocca, as if i knew who that was. my mother's comic collection was the single most influential constant in my life. knowing that i was exposed to bill watterson's commentary about his own work via the big collections my mom owned probably explains a lot about what's wrong with me. but she also had a lot of berke breathed before he fully wussed out
the general experience of playing a video game that you arent supposed to/when you arent supposed to is probably one of the most freeing means of meaningless rebellion as a kid that everyone should experience. i used to be up playing pokemon past my bedtime under my covers with a huge heavy rubber flashlight i stole from the kitchen and had to replace every morning without getting caught once i was done with it. god, the days before backlit screens we had to get really fucking wild with it. in high school i would wake up at 5:00am, sneak into the computer room where the ps2 was and play an hour of FFX bc its the longest fucking non-persona game in the world, stop playing before my mom woke up at 6:00am and sneak back into bed. if i hit a part where i couldnt save i would just turn the screen off and come back to it tomorrow lol. secrets......
reading the "pictures for sad children" arc about paul, who is a ghost, finally losing it and going on a rant about how it has never mattered how thin a computer screen is. they were right and reading it helped me articulate and understand a growing feeling of restless frustration at the world around me that i felt singular and alone in. im glad that last i heard that artist is doing ok. i hope they recognize the incredible value in their work as imperfect as they perceived it to be. i do not think they would be happy to know that their old work was impactful, but i hope they realize that what people are able to tease out of their work is meaningful, at least to me it is. ill transcribe the comic rather than repost it i think: paul [while smashing electronics]: "have i told you about [bam] how nerds destroy the world take conspicuous consumption as a lifestyle choice and combine it with early hardware adoption and you have great swaths of gadgetry out of stock because they're incrementally better than the last model and there are landfills full of functioning electronics wasted time, resources, money, etc. the best part is that these things were never necessary it has never mattered how thing a computer is." [smash]
this is too long. i like art.

Have some takes on BMC personality types:
So as we know, the binary of introvert/extrovert for real people is largely constructed, or at least is not as discreet as is often portrayed, but for the purposes of fictional people (especially ones from theater, designed to be open-ended enough for actors to choose to inhabit in different ways) we'll say we can use it.
with that in mind:
I know Jeremy often gets portrayed/described as introverted - kind of shy, nerdy, awkward, anxious, I can get why this would seem like stereotypical "introvert" traits
Whereas often, if not excessively, Michael gets cast as more extroverted: he's a lot more confident, passionate, and energetic, so makes sense for superficial and stereotypical traits....
But I posit that they're the opposites, just in different settings/life situations that suit their personalities differently
Jeremy at heart is an extrovert - he craves social and interpersonal interaction, and specifically a lot of it.....but he's not getting it. Now, this translates in his high schooler brain as "being popular:" when everyone likes you, you'll have tons of friends and never be lonely, right? Of course, a lot of the play is him learning that that's not necessarily the case. However, we can't deny that his loneliness is not based on quality of his relationships, but quantity/amount of time he gets to spend with other people. Which isn't a bad thing! People can be and often are gregarious by nature, that's normal and a perfectly appropriate way to be.
(I know myself, if I go too long without being in some kind of social setting, I start to wilt like a plant (COVID lockdown wasn't pleasant; I actually started liking my essential-worker retail position because at least I got to talk to people))
All this in mind, I would say Jeremy actually is just a very-unfulfilled extrovert; I think this is why headcanons about him getting into theater/having more friends feel so right and satisfying for his arc
By contrast, Michael is an introvert who is, luckily, perfectly in his element for his living and social situation. We see from the play he has one friend that he loves and more or less gets everything he needs from in that part of his life. He has his moms, who as far as we know are a neutral-to-positive force. And he has his online friends from WoW etc. The balance between these three - and I do think, subtly, we get the impression that Michael spends time away from Jeremy with his online friends, which Jeremy subtly resents even if he doesn't realize/voice it - suggests that while Michael's personal emotional/social outlet needs are pretty low, he's getting them satisfied. It's why his one IRL friend ditching him hurt so bad: it's not that he was unstable beforehand or anything, it's that one of the three pillars of his stability got yanked out.
Therefore, Michael's confidence/happy-go-lucky/bubbly attitude is because he's an introvert with most of his needs being met at the outset of the story
I also think, furthermore, that this is one of the roots of their conflict in the play; being teenagers and still working out the world, they haven't quite learned that despite knowing each other for most of their lives, their personality styles are actually quite different: this is why Michael doesn't really understand why Jeremy wants to change so much, and why Jeremy thinks Michael looks down on him for wanting to change
This is not to undermine other takes on the characters - I have ranted at length about the wonderful mutability of theater in that regard - but I think from the text itself, this reading/characterization actually explains a lot of their motivations and finer points in the story

hii may I request dating headcanons with ma minhwan with a cheerful and chaotic reader :O?
Thank you for your request!
[ Minwhan Ma x Gn! Reader ] - Dating Headcanons with a cheerful and chaotic reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Minwhan Ma loves chaos and fully embraces it like a mother caring for her children, and this man is nothing but cheerful. It's like his bodily functions are made up of 50% chaos and 50% cheerfulness.
This man won't rest until all of you guys have exhausted your engine for today, your dates consist of going outside and staying inside of your homes. None in between.
Your dates outside are usually him taking you shopping but sometimes his homicidal tendencies act up and will drag you around to fish for any gang or poor unfortunate souls that can be used for your and his entertainment.
He will take you to a shooting range and will brag about his shooting skills like it's the most important thing that happens in the world, and not the frightful expressions of the guide or other occupants in the shooting range toward this man - because how can a high schooler shoot so accurately?
"Minwhan put that down." God forbid this man to bring out a real gun to the outside world when he's already terrorizing poor students with his toy gun. "Oh come on!" The man in question, or as you like to call him in your head. Devil incarnate whined with a displeased expression on his face. You turn your head toward the unfortunate soldier who had the rotten luck to accompany you two throughout the shooting range, an apologetic smile was on your face. "I'm very sorry." The soldier let out a terrified shaky sigh.
Now, when Minwhan has enough and decided to stop terrorizing the outside world. He's content enough to stay inside with you in your lovely home, though be prepared because throughout the day he will whine about what to do and will persuade you to go with him and bully some unsuspecting students.
In which you resistantly dissuade him from doing.
Though if you give him a nerf gun he will quiet down and will turn toward you with a sick-looking expression on his face, Minwhan will invite you to play a role-play situation with him.
"Why am I the cop?" You ask the man who was reloading the styrofoam bullets inside of the nerf gun with an incredulous expression on your face, "because I'm the bad guy and you're the good guy, it fits right?" You tilted your head to the side and contemplated his question before finally nodding your head in approval, "well, kinda." Minwhan smiled at you brightly and cock the nerf gun, "now, run and hide my cop." You turn to the man with a bewildered expression. "Excuse me?" Weren't you supposed to be the one doing the capturing?
Yes, you admit that you're quite the headache yourself but Minwhan takes it up a notch. He's a fucking disease. Kisses with him are so random that they'll take you off guard and will leave you with different varying emotions - irritated, flustered, annoyed. You named it.
So, you take it upon yourself to be one of the devil's incarnations, and decide to throw an impromptu kissing competition between the two of you, the winner gets to have a real gun for a week.
A frightful shout left your lips as Minwhan appeared right in front of you like a genie poofing out of his lamp, his fingers were immediately on your collar and quickly pulled you close and his lips met yours in a chaste kiss. You can feel Minwhan smiling through the kiss as he pulls away and scurries off down the hallways. "You motherfucker!" You can hear the crisp sound of laughter that echoed through the halls. You smiled and turned toward the teacher as if nothing happened, "what was it again, ma'am?" The teacher coughs.

You know what I realized today? I've gathered from dashboard osmosis that the inmates in Milgram are being judged for deaths they're responsible for that don't qualify as murder in a legal sense, right? So... Mondo could totally be an inmate in Milgram World. I don't really know where I'm going with this, but... thoughts on him as an inmate? Like, how might his crimes get treated by the narrative? What music style and symbolism might they use in his videos? (Are there different musical styles? I haven't actually listened to the songs...) Sorry for sticking my special little guy in here lmao, I promise that I'm doing it in a "I'm walking my Littlest Pet Shops through your Barbie Dreamhouse" sorta way.
YES we are mushing our toys together and having a good time :’D Omg always stick your special little guy here!
And that’s exactly it! Five of the prisoners should have been charged with homicide though they have very emotionally charged situations, but the other five have pretty standard lives except that they indirectly/unconventionally took a life – so he would 100% fit. (There’s also a theory I really like that characters only end up in the prison if they personally feel guilty of murder, so it’d work that he felt like he killed someone so he found himself there.)
He’d have such cool symbols in his video ooh... The videoa have a mix of actual scenes of reality along with a more dreamscape-type area. So you’d have moments from the night of the accident, but he could also be riding his bike surrounded by stylized open highways, traffic lights/signage, car lights, and cityscapes that reveal his recklessness/relationships. Or if those are too similar, his dreamscape could also be a garage where he’s working on – or smashing – his bike. Most characters have a single simple image that's their major symbol, I think his would be a red traffic light.
(I can't think of anything clever at the moment but there could also be a lot to work with for diamonds symbolizing something tough/hard, valuable, and visually distracting)
The songs are all generally pop-y, but there are definitely distinct genres for each character which is super fun! (I do recommend giving the soundtrack a listen even if you don’t get into the story side – all the season 2 songs SLAP lol) And I swear I'm not just saying this because he's my favorite, but Mondo would definitely fit Fuuta’s vibes. It’s the whole “I’m a tough guy and I’ll kick your fucking ass, (but deep down I am actually very human and scared and feel immense guilt over this!!” thing. Bring it On is his more confident intro song and Backdraft is after he’s a bit more fucked up and feeling scared/guitly.
Story-wise, I think he’d also be pretty similar to Fuuta in that his toughness would put people off at first. There are three seasons/trials (we’re in the middle of the second one rn), and I think his first voice drama would be full of aggression, and then his song would reveal he’s in a gang – causing the audience to think he was just a loudmouthed delinquent needing to be brought down a notch, and vote him guilty. But then season 2 he hits ‘em with the fact that the gang had nothing to do with the death, and it was in fact love that caused it all, and he's a lot more complex. And maybe it’s held off until s3 to reveal it was his own brother, giving that final twist of the knife. From some of the opinions I’ve seen so far, it seems like he’d get a good reception and may make it out! (Though you could stay true to his original tragedy and take the possibility that his final verdict would be guilty :( )
I would walk my barbies back into your littlest pet shop area, but I mean, the main Milgram high schooler character did stab a girl in broad daylight, so I don’t think there’d be much of an interesting investigation there… 😂

Here's my theory~ Mu was always a bully and while we can spend our time debating the ethicality of bullying or psychoanalyzing what leads individuals to bully others. This isn't about that, it's about murder. Like hello, did everyone just forget about the murder?
Let's shove the concept of bullying to the side for the time being and get serious. Why did she kill this girl? From After Pain and It's Not My Fault, we see one thing for certain. Mu did not want her victim to find out what she was doing with her other friends.
This is probably why the situation is taking place so far after school and up on the roof. That's why her friend brings it to her attention when she sees that she's there and why Mu's expression goes from jovial to concerned immediately.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It also explains why all her friends would turn around or bring her presence to Mu's attention at all. If they all know that Mu has a relationship with this girl and behaves differently in front of her or even if Mu told them that she doesn't seem into that sort of behavior or abhors it. Then, all of their responses make sense.
They might've only caught a glimpse of her as she was opening the roof door but this was the incident that made Mu's victim begin ignoring her. Which is why she says in After Pain,
"It’s ok to ignore me- If it’s endurance, I’m used to it. It’s just having another taste of it."
This would also explain why her victim's face goes from surprise, confusion, and then settles on disgust.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But she ultimately turns away not interfering with the bullying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As though she's seen all she's needed to. To add fuel to this idea when it shows Mu and her friends after her victims expressions we hear the shattering again.
Tumblr media
As though highlighting that her view of Mu or how she believed her to be shattered in this moment.
Her victim isn't the altruistic person people have made her out to be. She's not some anti-bullying champion, she's a high schooler just like Mu. A kid that'd rather not make waves or cause problems for themselves. So, I don't believe she'd raise a hand to stop Mu's behavior or intervene at all.
All of After Pain heavily implies that the thing that got to Mu the most was being ignored by her. That was the thing she couldn't handle. She stabs this girl because she has the audacity to walk away from her. To not hear her out. We all see her do this in After pain.
Then once again in It's Not My Fault the MV literally shows her seeing it and then turning away. Love that they kept her this is none of my business gonna stay in my lane mentality.
Because what it highlights is that to the very end, chances are she never raised a hand or acted against Mu.
We know this is her victim too because well guess what her fucking backpack motherfuckers! Surprise I said I'd be reaching if I ever tried to use this as evidence of her bullying Mu but it's not a stretch to say that's definitely the red of her backpack lying on the ground!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, we can all stop speculating if it's someone else because the face is covered or the shoes. Or whatever it's the same girl. That's her backpack. You can see the red straps on the side at the top.
Mu didn't want her victim to know about her bad behavior. She wanted to continue to look weak and pitiable in her eyes . This is why right after seeing this incident it's highlighted that Mu is in charge by the size of her insect form in comparison to the other girls. So, chances are whatever Mu said in that scene made it incredibly clear that she wasn't being forced to go along with the group and be in on the bullying but was leading it.
This is why in After Pain Mu sings "I love you", this is why she's covered Otome Dissection and MKDR. Because she did love her victim and to keep being around them or in their good graces she tried her hardest to hide the parts of herself she believed they wouldn't like. Maybe even giving her a hand me down backpack with a picture of the tropical fish she loves so much. It's no big deal it's not like she was using it anyway like the hairpin, or lipstick, she tries to flippantly play it off as being easy but just because something is easy doesn't mean it doesn't have any care put behind it.
If Mu did give her victim this backpack while the only thing she gave to Haruka and her other friend were really small things that could go overlooked... This is a big backpack with her favorite animal in the middle of it. It's almost like announcing to everyone this person is mine stay away.
Well, if she only didn't find out- I suppose.

KICKS DOWN YOUR DOOR
AAAAA TELL ME ABOUT THE RINHIME UUULTRAC AU
SO SORRY FOR BEING LATE!!!
Under the cut
I do want to say as a little start here: I really didnt enjoy the second two routes of uuultraC. Shirou's chapter drove me into a mink route level depression and I hated how the third route ended. so really this is a little bit of me rewriting the bits i liked and then. making it ensemble stars.
but yes let me. bullet points some bits for u.
HiMERU -The main difference between the two worlds is kaname's death. Our himeru has been pretending to be kaname for literal years -Tried acting and modelling for a while, but keeps getting locked out -Has not realized hes a Kaiju, but Rinne knows -Kaiju stuff awakened when Kaname died, and helps make his disguise perfect -Has the worlds strangest most co dependant fwb thing going on with Rinne. He thinks Rinne is dating Niki (who knows about him) -Has a dream connection with Kohaku. They share dreams and memories -Knows Jun and Tatsumi as Kaname's friends, and is bad at interacting with them, blames tatsumi for Kaname's death
Rinne -Left his hometown in a bid to see the outside world -The next day the town has leveled, and Hiiro died. He blames himself. -Still calls Niki his wife, but its a joking thing. They mean the world to each other. Niki still took him in until he started mooching off Himeru. -Met Himeru while Himeru was bartending. He saved him from falling, and theyve been inseperable ever since. -Doesn't get the whole hero appeal thing, but desperate to save ppl. -Says hes getting into professional gambling and writing, doesnt want Himeru to read his work
Hiiro
-Reincarnation of the younger brother Rinne lost
-He's normal aged in the other world, and dies again in this one
-They're close in the other world and live a happy life
Tatsumi -Apart of ORANGE -Desperate not to fumble Kaname again. -Has not realized Himeru is not Kaname. Very forward with him -Wants to make the world better for Kaname, became a kaiju for him
The other routes would have -Kohaku and Madara (platonic not ship) as a replacement for the second route. Madara's detective agency and the high schooler that keeps saving him from trouble he gets into. Madara 4D chessing his way into situations to get Himeru to act as bait. That kinda stuff.
-Izumi and Leo as the third route Leo being an alien, desperately searching for divine inspiration as he rips the world apart. Formed ORANGE with Tsukasa to instigate monster fights. Izumi is obsessed with him, and desperate to make him better, but they keep talking past each other. Kohaku is their main agent, but has been going rogue to help Madara.
Other ppl involved would be -Niki as the hero and coworker both Himeru and Rinne share without knowing -Aira as the investigative blogger getting into trouble -Mayoi as a young kaiju that Madara helps
SORRY THIS IS SO CONFUSING AND NON-SENSICAL. I dont know how to explain myself and if youre confused or want more info i will do my best. thank you for your interest im really touched and wanna cry. sorry that its not so good. Have a tatsumi

Magnum PI 4.20 - ‘Close To Home’ review
WE BE CANON!
Tumblr media
I can still not believe even as I KNEW as soon as we had the whole flashback to Higgy talking with the doc after her run! I just knew.
Then I was like Oh no Lia! Maybe we won’t get it and they’ll leave it all angsty. But the very next scene is like Magnum telling the guys ‘nothing happened’ and then I knew 100%. (I’d also been spoiled by amazing kissing gifs from my two seconds of opening tumblr!)
Anyways, I like-loved this episode, (duh) and over all I’m not sure how much I have to say today. Only OMG if this was the series finale I’d be able to die happy and since it’s most likely not WE ARE GETTING A WHOLE SEASON of Miggy. They better not mess it up!!!
But I mean...can’t stop rewatching that last scene! Still, I’ll try to remember and talk about the rest of the episode too!
Thos one felt like a mix of so much because we have A) Magnum and Higgins acting like high schoolers in love or like some Shakespearian play. It was like a classic ‘darkest moment’ in a romance novel where the characters are finally about to come together and then something stops them. But it’s all actually a misunderstanding. So I’d say the Miggy plot this week is a romantic comedy.
Tumblr media
B) Gordon’s kidnapped wife (+him at first) and then Beth being shot and them breaking a guy out of prison and a big shoot-out and finding out the bad guy was responsible for Gordie’s sister’s death. It was pretty heavy. And he no longer with the HPD (are we going to get Magnum, Higgins and Katsumoto investigations next year? that be... something). So that was a pretty dang serious thriller-detective-suspense-crime plot-line.
Tumblr media
C) the baby coming early and Suzy having complications. I felt weirdly responsible for this (since I did kill her in a fan fic and occasionally I seem to mind link a bit with the writing team... but she survived so it’s not my fault) and Rick being shook and then everyone having a moment with the cute-fake baby. Like that was a fake baby right? I mean yeah? Or did I just insult someones baby? And this last one, it’s like IDK family+medical drama? Or perhaps angst family?
Tumblr media
No matter.
Despite how different they all were weaved together pretty good, and just like the contrast of the first scene with kidnapped Gordy+Beth,
Tumblr media
then Higgy on her jog and in the kitchen when she’s going to tell him and then the utter devastation of Lia being there...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at her face, she so sad and we so sad too!
(I feel like Higgy was sad a lot this episode, like even there at the end when she’s told him she’s mostly just sad, which is depressing. Because it means she’s pretty sure he dosen’t have feelings for her in return. While I think Magnum actually had a clue that she did have feelings for him just not that she was so in tune with them, Higgy was just telling him because she wanted to be honest and not because she was expecting a HEA. At least not as much as I feel he was.)
Then scene switch to Magnum and the guys waiting for Gordy and Magnum being all defensive about/ explaining to the guys that Lia did JUST SLEPT THERE - NO FUNNY BUSINESS - it was just... chef’s kiss on the tone shifts and somehow managing to make me love ever moment of it. I mean I was legit so upset for my babies and the possibility of them messing it all up but I was still smiling because I was amused by the wacky-drama-ness of it all!
Tumblr media
Least favourite bit or thing I’m not 100% sure how I feel about Higgy getting emotional when they were all there with the baby, at the same time I did like how that whole thing played out.
(And I was right about the balcony scene not being Higgy having said ‘can I talk to you about something’ - promos be liars!)
Tumblr media
Did love that he notices right away and follows. Magnum knows what’s up!
Tumblr media
And I of course loved the last scene. I’m both torn between liking that we’re in a new set, nothing familiar just like the situation, it’s sun set (symbolising one thing ending and another starting) but I would maybe have liked their first kiss to have been at Robin’s Nest. Maybe. Still I did like this pick for setting too. Very dramatic!
I think they despite the situation/conversation nailed the whole Miggy dynamics with Juliet being all “I bet this is doing wonders for your ego” and Magnum being all “I asked to spend the day with you yesterday because I was going to say the same thing”. I do hope we get call backs to them debating who had feels first and who made the first move - since he did ask her out for a hike but she actually told him!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then having both confessed to having feels they’re like “maybe we shouldn’t do this” and kind of agree, and then still kiss = so them! And I really look forward to seeing how they handle this going forward and how they keep them Magnum and Higgins but still give us Magnum&Higgins situations and development of their personalities.
Now, just because...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And they were so freaking soft with each other this whole episode and I hope they keep that up for a bit, but then as they settle in to the relationship next season we get some good bickering and stuff too. Anyone know anything about season 5? When will we know?
Overall I think I probably need to watch this episode again without just focusing/waiting for the Miggy moments because I’m not sure I gave it proper focus. Also me just having moved and the new job this week is making my brain feel a bit unfocused. So I def. think I’ll appreciate this episode more on the re-watches!

Just to explain the culture and differences of media's and why I'm hesitant to explore new social medias
Tumblr is the first social media I took part on
Back in 2015 as a high schooler I wanted to take part on the people excited about content, however I found myself getting the feeling of constant reaching into a void.
Tumblr is and remains a algorithm nightmare for new skill creators, to get any follows you need to reach out beyond likes and reblogs, your blog should clearly show your content type and people will reblogs if they feel comfortable enough with you and like it enough but good luck getting interaction. It had the purge moment and it became an even larger void until recently. Currently under 3000 followers (note this is the one I've been on the longest).
I then naturally looked for other social medias for more interaction DeviantArt
There are only artists there and frankly not even a good space to place a portfolio go to Artstation if you want to have good examples of portfolios and find jobs for it. DA is more a mess than ever and with the Ai situation there is nothing but lack of respect to the creators. Currently under 300 followers
I looked into Livestream areas for artists Picarto
It's a space where people talk while they draw and found friends on those spaces but the spaces are quite small in audience and still quite niche to artists. Twitch came by storm and the picarto is still used but overshadowed. Last I checked I had under 100 followers (but only 5 views a stream)
Twitch I also looked into to watch artists who transitioned over
The space is well, more like an entertainment center they have themes and you pick and most people are more likely to pick the gamers than the artists. Unfortunately. Also under 100 followers and under 5 views a stream
I found Instagram around 2017-18 ish? I didn't like the format in comparison to Tumblr the requirement of images or videos for post but I kept it anyway.
It's necessity for images requires more action from the poster and their algorithm (at the time) was fairly reliable, tags were helpful they got your posts to people who searched said tags. Stories were also very nice, I could share thoughts and polls and doodles without a worry of making my posts messy. I broke 10k followers on Instagram. Then they changed the algorithm and tried to imitate TikTok and it feels like a mess. Currently at under 16k followers.
I tried TikTok for a hot second mainly because people were stealing my art and nope, i already do so much work making the art I don't have the time as a college student to make it video appealing as well. I think I got 200 follows for the short time I was active.
So on to Twitter.
I have made the most friends and enemies here. The space is designed for people to interact, you see the good and bad of your favorite topic. You can have group chats polls threads and posts and gifs. Currently it's on fire. I liked the format I entered with the mind I wasn't going to be maintain an effort of aesthetic or worry over follows like I was with Instagram, which was the right mindset to have. I made a goal to interact with people without a care of them not responding and after a year people actually responded the space grew on me. It was nice to be acknowledged of the years of effort I put into art skills, I didn't see bots on my posts and I made connections with cool artists and writers. Currently at 13k followers.
Most recent media I've entered is discord
I created a discord but I don't qualify it as a social media. It is a group media you make a little spot for you and your buddies and if you already have a large following from somewhere else then it's for you and that group. And it be as helpful as possible or as cultish as possible. Cause it's just a group of people and the rules they established and that's the reality you live in. Currently my discord is at just over 100 followers.
Other website I've been on are simply not worth mentioning they simply faded in the moment, require other skills, not meant for artist, or are Facebook (and yeah don't 🙏)
So there you go I played my best cards on every space as a learning online artist but I wouldn't lie and tell you to go to Instagram or Twitter to gain a following even tho they both have my highest followings they have turned into a wild fire of destruction or brainlessness. Instagram literally with have the same video by 6-10 different people and it drives me crazy. Twitter is burning in Musky fires and who knows if it's breaking as I post. But I am here waiting for a social media that doesn't exist. Because the problem is this.
New social medias don't exist. Not in the eyes of the nonartists. Most of them see twitters down and go awww then open up Instagram and scroll through reels. Artist are scrambling. We literally have no clue where to go. Most of the artists who make money do so because of content cannot turn to Tumblr or insta because their income is in more mature material. And these two places will panic cause you posted two boys kissing with no shirts then punish you if not kick you out.
New social medias even the ones fine with that kind of content need the flow of audience. People online will not care unless the media style has something that make everyone feel valued in a new way.
The new way whatever that may be should happen soon tho cause we all out here dying and looking for audiences to consider commissioning us or following us on Patreon (another group media btw)
Anyway if you read this whole thing sorry to not have a space to go but stay calm there's good people who will figure it out.

hey just wanna say that as a casual eddissy shipper i've been really appreciating your recent posts on the latest discourse, explaining it all in a very mature and intelligent way. i find it pretty ridiculous, this age-gap faux-moral outrage thing, and it reminds me of a similar happening in the euphoria fandom concerning fezco and lexi's age-gap. the age-gap with them was actually less obvious than eddie and chrissy's at the time and it became clear that fez's age was more than likely retconned from 20/21 in s1 to 19 in s2 — which just speaks to sam levinson's on-the-fly attitude to writing tbh. but anyway, that's all water under the bridge now, thankfully. what's bonkers to me with this case with eddissy is the vibe i get that certain people are clearly pissed off by the ship, so like you mentioned are seeking a moral justification for that fair enough dislike... all towards a ship that unfortunately (unless chrissy is miraculously resurrected) is a canon non-starter! i see these posts saying please stop shipping chrissy and eddie!!! like bestie?? gain a couple years worth of maturity, critical understanding and a little perspective please! it's a very valid point you made that eddissy are in fact peers due to them both being high schoolers... there is no power imbalance there to speak of and that's suppported by their canon interaction. i think it does speak to maybe people's competitiveness and possessiveness of characters when it comes to shipping that these faux-moral wars crop up like they do... certainly with fez and lexi, the age-gap debate came about after they had already become a hugely popular pairing, taking up a large part of the twitter discourse from shippers and general viewers alike. even though eddissy is a smaller ship by comparison, their wood scene did capture the general audience on twitter more so than perhaps other scenes from involving other canon/fanon ships this season so far, plus their chemistry/the ship itself has the acknowledgement of the duffers, joeseph and grace... that's fairly significant and likely a point of jealousy for some, fueling the (faux-)moral outrage. anyway, i won't ramble on any more, those are just my observations as someone on the sidelines! keep fighting the good fight! <3
thank you! it can feel reaaaally silly parsing this kind of drama out in a serious way, so i appreciate knowing it's of value to someone.
"what's bonkers to me with this case with eddissy is the vibe i get that certain people are clearly pissed off by the ship" / "i think it does speak to maybe people's competitiveness and possessiveness of characters when it comes to shipping" i think you nailed it here. possessiveness is a great word for the problem.
it's interesting to hear about the fexi discourse. i watch the show but i'm not exposed to the fandom at all. i knew fexi was a thing but i was shocked when i went to the euphoria ao3 and it was the most popular pairing by like,,, a mile.
i think it’s a different situation because this is a very particular problem that arises when a popular ship feels, like you said, possessive. maybe a little threatened. i could be wrong, but my guess is that the fexi drama came from legitimate (if misguided) concern that got blown out of proportion to become a moral panic, which in turn escalated when it put hardcore shippers on the defensive.
it’s similar, but the subtle difference is where we see that hostility you mentioned come into play, as well as a kind of relentlessness. i’m hoping this will just fizzle out when the age thing is put to bed, but i’m a little concerned we’ll see another wave (or waves) of another kind after that.
until the antis can recognize that what they’re engaged in is a ship war and not a righteous crusade, the core problem remains. edssy will never be morally pure enough because it isn’t their ship.

Tumblr media
Hello! This is Stella, the author of this story (duh).
This is my first story, i hope you like it! English is not my first language so there's maybe some a lot of grammar mistakes. I'm still learning and i accept any kind of feedback :3
Putting that aside, please enjoy the story!
Tumblr media
Today marked the first day where she worked as the teacher for the first and the second year students in Tokyo Jujutsu Technical College. After some days teaching the second year, she looks like another dumb, weak, know-it-all adult that bored Gojo Satoru to his very core. He couldn't help but to roll his eyes each time the new teacher tried to break the situation by telling some lame jokes that slowly building irritation inside him. Only Getou and Shoko who are kind enough to smile along and engage with her throughout the class that feels longer than it should be. When the bells rang, Satoru couldn't be more overjoyed.
"Finally!" He stretches his long limbs in an unusual way. "Ugh, she's so booooring. She's not different from Yaga-sensei. Just younger."
"And pretty." Getou added, Shoko also nodded while lighting her cigarette.
"Is that why you all agreed to play dumb and nice with her? I would never." He put his cheeks between his large hands. Thinking about he had to endure another boring semester with a new, weak teacher bring him a mild headache.
"Well, she is a nice person. Unlike someone here." Getou couldn't help but to tease Gojo who's frowning even deeper now. "I'm sure you'll like her too, if you tried."
"I won't." He confidently replied before getting out of his chair. "Because i hate people like her the most."
....
Unknowingly to the young students, the said teacher was eavesdropping their entire conversation with a smile on her young face. "Gojo Satoru, was it?" Her smile turned wider. "I guess i need to try harder."
.....
"So, what do you think about the second year?" Masamichi Yaga—now Principal Yaga—asked the newly hired teacher in his office. As usual, his hands are busy knitting another cursed doll with a stoic expression on his face.
"They're strong, i can tell that just from their cursed energy alone. They're much stronger than the average jujutsu students." She smiled. "They're also very confident, youthful, rebellious... and Foolish."
There's a light chuckle when she continues to speak. "But that's what high schoolers are, right? They think they're all mighty and powerful. Especially with that Gojo kid, he had his head over the cloud nine."
Principal Yaga stopped knitting his doll. Somehow he becomes pressured from the smile shown on the young lady in front of him. He thinks he can see a malicious dark aura blazing behind the said woman when she talks about Gojo Satoru. Poor boy didn't know who's he's messing with.
He cleared his throat. "What are you planning to do with them?"
The woman blinked once. "What do you think i will do to them, Principal Yaga?"
Principal Yaga just let out the longest sigh he ever made in his life. "Just... Just don't kill them, okay? Especially with Gojo, his clan wouldn't be thrilled if they knew you're messing with their heir." The older man fixed his glasses before looking at her once again. "Do you understand, Masumi Himeko?"
"Yes, Yes, i obey your command, Principal Yaga." Himeko sipped the green tea served for her and instantly grimacing upon tasting it. "Yuck, it's bitter."
"..."
Principal Yaga internally hoped that he made the right choice hiring her.
....
The next day, the second year is off to the school field to have an one on one sparring session. As you can guess it, Shoko boredly cheering Satoru and Suguru who's currently sparring hand to hand combat at the middle of the field.
"Is this all you got, Suguru?" Satoru pulled out his tongue and rolling his eyes ever so slowly all the while avoiding Suguru's attack.
"Turn off your infinity so i can hit you, asshole." The black haired boy grunted, veins popping because his kick was stopped by none other than the Infinity.
"Turn off your infinity so i can hit you, nyenyenye." Satoru let out a wild laugh when Suguru's face became a frowning mess at his mockery.
"Satoru!"
"Quite the energetic, aren't they?"
"Huh?" Shoko startled by the sudden voice behind her. She looked up and found Himeko, their new teacher is looking at the fight that currently happening between Satoru and Suguru.
Tumblr media
Since when she stood behind me? Shoko pondered for a while.
"Why don't you join them, Ieiri-san?"
"Pass." Shoko raised one hand in the air. "I don't wanna caught up in whatever shit they were doing, sensei."
"That so." Himeko laughed at how brazen she talks but Himeko always thought she looked cute, like a chibi delinquent with a cigarette on—
Cigarette?
Snatch!
"No smoking in school area, Shoko." Himeko tossed Shoko's cigarette in the trashbin nearby.
"Aw, my cigarette." Shoko instantly pouted.
"It's bad for your health even if you have reversed cursed technique." She's back on observing the two young men.
"Who do you think will win between the two of them?"
"I don't know," Shoko hummed a bit before continuing. "They're the strongest duo, after all."
"I see." Himeko smiled. "And between me and them, who will win?"
Shoko looked at her sensei with surprise painted all over her face. "You're going to fight them both at once?"
"Why not? It's the best way to see how much they improved, isn't it?" She replied lightly. "And to change their perspective about me as well."
Ah... Shoko remembered yesterday when Satoru openly expressing his dislike on Himeko. Suguru, on the other hand...
"Gojo-san, Geto-san." Satoru and Suguru immediately stopped choking each other when they see a familiar figure with long pink hair is approaching them.
"Masumi-sensei." Geto kicked pushed Satoru off him and stand up to greet the young woman.
"Suguru!"
"I see that both of you have trained very... Hard today." Himeko ignored the way Satoru glaring at her unwelcomed presence.
"Of course we are, right Satoru?"
The latter just answered with an inaudible grunt.
"Since the class isn't over yet," Himeko clapped her hands together. "Why don't we spar together?"
"Ha?"
"Huh?"
Silence.
"What do you mean, sensei?" Satoru also wants to ask the same thing but Suguru beats him to it.
"Sparring. Both of you, against me right now."
"Well, uh..." Suguru hesitantly thinking about how he should turn your offer in the kindest way possible because—
"Are you kidding me?" Satoru leaned forward, pushing his dark glasses over to stare at her yet her gaze doesn't waver any bit. They were dead calm like a lake without any ripples on the surface. Something that surprised him a bit because people often make quite a reaction after seeing his eyes.
He squinted his eyes. Trying to be more intimidating than before but looking even more stupid in the end. "You? A grade 3 sorcerer?"
"Yeah, why not?" She shrugged. "Or are you scared that this grade 3 sorcerer will beat your ass in a simple sparring session?"
Now, it's the time for Satoru to be startled after hearing her provocation. "You-"
"It's settled, then." She cut him off quickly. Walking to the opposite of the field, then doing some simple stretches. "Three minutes should suffice." She glanced at Shoko who is at a flabbergasted state. "Shoko, count down the time."
"Oh? Okay." The girl took her phone and set the timer.
"The rule is simple. Whoever made their enemy out of the field, unable to fight, or surrender will be the winner." She stated confidently or rather foolishly. Because she's definitely in a losing side outnumbered by two special grade sorcerers.
"Just what the hell is she thinking?" Satoru mumbled.
"I don't know," Suguru smiled. "But it's kinda fun. I'll see what she have in her sleeve."
Satoru frowned for the nth time on that day. Part of him want to wipe that smug smile off her face yet another side of him is somehow thrilled, amused even, seeing how confident she is.
There's no way she can beat them.
He'll show it to her soon enough.
"Ready?" She sounded too happy for someone in a disadvantage situation. But the students complied, mostly because they're curious on what she's planning to do.
"Ready whenever you are, sensei~" Suguru replied from afar.
"Okay, then... Shoko?"
"Alright. Three," Shoko started the countdown.
"Two,"
"Let's beat her down." Satoru smiled.
"One!"
"Oka—"
BOOOOOOOOM!
Satoru stunned. The loud sound of explosion made his ears rang for a bit. He looked over to the side, where Suguru stood. His right cheek is bleeding, sliced by something sharp.
"Ah, missed."
Their attention back to their teacher who's still standing on the same place. Face as blank as ever, her hands playing with some pebbles she picked up from the ground. "Heheh, it was intentional. But don't worry, this time I won't miss." She smiled, ignoring how wide eyed her students are.
Pebbles?
Just what kind of fucking pebbles made loud sound like that?
Satoru glanced to the back. There's a hole on the building behind them, and the building behind that building—
"Didn't principal Yaga taught you—"
"Fuck—" Satoru kicked over an empty air.
"Do not look anywhere else when you're in a battle, Gojo-san?" She teleported beside him, tapping his head just slightly but made him thrown away violently, but fortunately Suguru caught him before he thrown out of the field. It would be an instant lost for the students.
"You alright?"
"Ugh, yeah." Satoru quickly regained his composure despite the chronic headache. It hurts like hell even though all she did is a light tap.
"She messed up my cursed energy circulation." He growled annoyedly.
"Correct, so you'll be having difficulty turning on your infinity." She clapped. "You analyzed everything so quickly, Gojo-san! As expected!" She gave a thumbs up to him.
"Ugh," Satoru supposed to be annoyed by how cheery she is right now. But he found himself smiling, adrenaline rushing in his veins. "Hey, sensei."
"What is it, Gojo-san?"
"Are you..." He rubbed his forehead roughly. "Are you really a grade 3 sorcerer?"
Enormous strength and speed, it's unlikely for a grade 3 sorcerer to possess this kind of power. Not to mention the aura she emanates, like facing a berserk war general with bloodthirsty eyes.
She put a sweet smile on her face that made him unable to focus on his headache for once. "Yes, i am."
Beautiful.
He slapped himself.
"What are you doing?!" Suguru scolded his fellow classmate.
"I'm going crazy, Suguru." He looks genuinely horrified with the thought that has just passed by. Beautiful? His brain must've also became twisted because of the earlier attack.
"Now, now." The teacher flicked her fingers to attract their attention. "The spar isn't over. You don't wanna lose to a grade 3 sorcerer now, do you?"
"Heh," Suguru wiped the blood on his cheek, while Satoru made a stance to prepare an attack.
"Of course not." The white haired boy scoffed but the glints in his eyes showed another emotion. Thrill and excitement is evident on how he looks at her now.
A strong opponent has come.
"Good," She nodded while forming a gentle curve on her lips. "Show me what you got."
Satoru immediately jumped forward, while Suguru followed suit.
And thus, that marked the first time the second year students have lost in a sparring session, against a grade 3 sorcerer.

[A] #36 — KISS HIM, NOT ME
Tumblr media
Kiss Him, Not Me is about a fujoshi high schooler who finds herself in the middle of an otome-esque situation where five people vie for her love, but all she really wants to do is fangirl over her waifus and ship guys with each other.
Serinuma in fujoshi mode was probably the best part of the show for me. I'm not much of a fujoshi myself (tho if a BL couple is categorically the best and most supreme couple in any given story, I'm most likely going to ship it lol), but seeing her fangirl was so funny because she was so relatable. Like, the way she lost it over the guys when they got into situations is an accurate representation of me with my own ships lol. When I was more active as a kpop stan, I'd have very similar conversations with my friends, so watching her also felt nostalgic. It makes me want to watch more shows about female otaku (please recommend if you know any!), especially those that depict fan culture as a positive experience because I feel like it's usually painted in a negative light.
The relationships/interactions between Igarashi, Nanashima, Shinomiya, Nishina, and Mutsumi were also really entertaining! Especially Nanashima and Shinomiya, and then Igarashi and Nishina; these two pairs were the ones who were pretty much on the same wavelength, particularly with their feelings for Serinuma, so watching them butt heads with each other was fun. Mutsumi was definitely my favorite from the moment I saw his face on the anime poster (more on him in the section below), but everyone definitely brought something to the table to make the show fun and enjoyable.
The biggest thing that I didn't like was the very unhealthy depiction of weight loss. There were only two episodes that really dealt with it, but it still just doesn't sit well with me. I do like that Serinuma herself doesn't see her being fat as a bad thing, and that she wasn't really depicted as being a social outcast because she was fat, but yeah. Even if the weight thing was meant to be a joke in the show, I personally don't think it's that funny.
Spoilers below!
I didn't care much for the otome aspect of it because it was much more entertaining to see Serinuma be a fujoshi than to see her progress in her relationships with the guys. Serinuma herself didn't seem all that interested to be in a relationship anyway, so I wasn't really disappointed when the show ended without her picking someone. I was most entertained by Nishina's story as a fellow avid shipper, but I like Mutsumi's the best overall (mostly because I'm biased but whatever).
There were some differences between the manga and the anime, the biggest one being the Kachu Rabu episodes. Those haven't happened at that point in the manga, but I get why they were placed where they were. They help further integrate Nishina into the group while giving the group more time to spend with each other before the final episode came along. The extra time also helps make Mutsumi's feelings more of a mystery, and his realization by the end of the anime feel more impactful.
Serinuma is definitely my favorite character for reasons described above. Mutsumi is a close second and I loved him from the moment he was all "I think it's great to have something you really like" when Serinuma revealed she was an otaku. Mutsumi's also my first pick in the harem because he really felt like the best choice out of the five of them. He liked her for who she was, he respected her and her hobbies, and is probably the only person in the group who could gently bring her back whenever she got worked up in fujoshi mode. Even though Igarashi felt like the strongest contender of the five of them at first (especially since he's the only one who seems to actually have game aside from Nishina), it made me super happy to see Mutsumi be so endgame-coded: his story was the last and the longest one among the five of them, his confession was the one that Serinuma thinks about when they're on their date, the way Serinuma talks about him to his brother (iirc this is the only time she's ever talked about any of the people in her harem so specifically and with so much love without her even realizing it), etc. etc. I haven't finished the manga, but I sincerely hope it's him at the end.
Other fragmented thoughts:
Serinuma's too nice. It would've definitely taken me more time to forgive them after what happened at the cultural festival, I would've definitely been more offended that they'd want me to slim down so badly (even though I'd be getting a feast for my eyes in exchange), etc etc. Like, she's experienced some shitty things and yet she just brushes them off nbd like girl please you are allowed to be upset
Even though I don't like the fitness episode, it was a good test to see whose feelings for Serinuma were legit. Mutsumi wins because he's literally the best human being in this cast. Nishina passes the test (and is further boosted when you factor in her backstory during the shipping war), and Igarashi passes by the end when he realizes he loves Serinuma for more than her looks. It was disappointing (but not surprising) that Nanashima and Shinomiya were the most eager, and I didn't like how they referred to making her skinny again as getting her "back to normal". Just... no. Like, you're allowed to have a type, but making someone slim down for your own benefit is a no no. Especially since Serinuma didn't seem to have a problem with being fat again.
I have mixed feelings for Kazuma. On one hand, he is a bi king and I love the gay panic he instilled in Nanashima and Shinomiya. Also, the anime only bit where he teased Nishina over her doujinshi was perfectly demonic and I loved it! However, the part where he'd be down to date a cute high schooler to prove a point to his brother is a bit icky to me
Asuma being a little brother was the most adorable thing istg
I acknowledge Igarashi as a strong-ish contender, but I really just can't accept the thought of him being endgame. He did a better job in the manga because even in the early volumes, he tried to get into Serinuma's interests by borrowing her manga and talking to her about them. In the anime, it just felt like he tolerated her otaku side and only wanted her to be a normie around him.
I kind of see why they went with the Puri Puri Moon thing instead of the sports day chapter for Nanashima because it makes their date later on feel more special, but idk I liked the sports day chapter more
Where tf did A-chan go and why tf was I robbed of a fujoshi trio??
I feel so sorry for their other friends. These five literally ditched all their other friends for Serinuma like ???
7/10

1, 16, and 18 for the ask meme!
1. Favourite character and your favourite outfit of theirs?
this is like asking me to pick a favourite child! like, objectively it's steve harrington, he's the most character to ever character, he has the worst day of his life, finds out monsters are real (contributing to the worst day ever tm) and decides to become a better person than even the narrative gave him credit for all in the same 24 hours and then proceeds to martyr himself at every opportunity and adopt a bunch of half feral traumatised middle schoolers and he's lived in my head rent free since 2016. but then there's robin, because how can you have steve without robin or robin without steve, it just wouldn't be right! and besides that she is a code cracking ice musical genius who is good and kind and a little bit mean and brilliant and after one truly horrendous life or death situation she decides steve is her person and she will follow him into all subsequent life or death situations starting immediately and also into all future employment situations which amounts to the same thing. and honestly i could do this for nancy, lucas, max and mike as well, but i fear the rambling would take over and the wall of text would be too much, so here, have a favourite steve and robin outfit and we can all go about our days like i'm not in way too deep for so so many of these characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
16. Favourite song in Stranger Things?
it's gotta be heroes playing when they find "will's" body. that needle drop haunts me. the kids' acting in that scene, the horror of that on first viewing has not been dimmed over time! i watched s1 a couple of months ago and it still winds me! it's painful, but so so very good
18. Least favourite character?
this is such an interesting question! there are so many characters that dislike in the show, but who are not meant to be likeable, so they're functioning well, they're doing what they're meant to be doing. i find ted wheeler insufferable, dr brenner is reprehensible, troy makes me furious, and yuri gave me nothing, but again, they're kind of doing their job.
i think my least favourite character would have to be billy, in large part because parts of the fandom (and occasionally the show) want to brush over truly heinous things he's done because they think he's hot. i have zero time for billy.
and from a slightly different, i think after they gave us tommy and carol, two incredibly interesting characters, angela as a cardboard cutout high school bully in s4 fell really flat for me

I also love Angelica and think she's so great - there's another video on her youtube where she says people should only lose their virginity in their 20's - what do you think about this? I agree with her sentiment to an extent and I do think as a woman I was put into many situations that make me feel used now and I am sure this can negatively affect men as well.. I just kind of felt ashamed/worried after watching the video because she said that having sex very young can negatively set you up for life and I agree to an extent but I think there's more nuance to it than a 20 minute youtube video can express.. And also I think the problem more with me is I didn't know to express my boundaries or communicate and people took advantage of that sometimes.. and just how women are socialised etc etc
i was just gonna watch that video but it looks like shes deleted all of those videos (which sucks ass bc she had an amazing video about the tumblr nymphet community and its parallels to nambla and how it has negatively affected us that got seduced by that little subculture back in the mid 2010s) so unfortunately i cant answer this properly bc i dont have the full context and i dont have her arguments etc but i can still give some of my immidiate thoughts on it so here we go
i think losing ur virginity/wait with sex until ur in ur 20s is probably ideal tbh and i would absolutely encourage it for anyone who is in their teens rn and havent had their sexual debut yet. main reason being that u will be old enough to understand sex and its risks and effects and u will have had time to figure ur own body out more and u will most likely have at the very least basic level emotional intelligence and maturity that is required to have safe and healthy and enjoyable sex. like u have just finished puberty and just left teenagehood behind which is a messy and confusing and rough lifestage for all of us and ur now entering adulthood and have gained some perspective etc and u are way more in tune with urself (at the very least compared to when u were a teen) and both ur body and brain will be developed enough to be able to handle sex and have a realistic attitude around it and while ofc u can still be manipulated and u may still be somewhat naive it wont be anywhere near AS easy to manipulate u as it would have been earlier bc thats just how it is. u might still be vulnerable maybe sure but if ur vulnerable now u were even MORE vulnerable when u were a teen. its just how it is. thats how growing up works. u will probably have a way easier and more enjoyable sexual debut in ur 20s bc u will have a headstart in so many ways both physically and emotionally.
BUT im not gonna pretend like its that black and white and simple. Many girls (and boys but im focusing on women here) have perfectly normal and healthy sexual encounters when they are teenagers and i rly dont believe that sex will just automatically traumatize and harm u when ur a teen bc lets be real here, the key here is that u explore sex with UR PEERS, boys and girls within ur own age group, NOT ppl that are 20+ when u are like 14-16. when ur a high schooler and u want to explore sex u do it with other high schoolers. ppl ur own age. I think its perfectly fine and normal to have sex when ur a teen, but that is assuming u are having sex with other teens. NOT ppl that are like 5 years older than u. thats when actual impactful long lasting harm becomes highly likely. feeling like u got used and heartbroken by a boy in ur school aka a boy that is ur peer and ur own age will hurt and suck and will leave an impact on u but its a very different impact than the one u will be left with if u felt taken advantaged of by someone much older (not a teen). the dynamics are whats important here i think.
sex and relationships are messy and yes u can always get fucked up from it thats just how it is. u cant avoid it. u just need to be able to handle it and maybe ur not ready to handle it until ur like 25, thats fine. dont do it then. like if u dont think ur ready, just wait until u are. if ur like 15 and feel ready then go ahead but STICK TO PPL UR OWN AGE when ur that young. u gotta be equals. period.

I'm having. A time rn. And (ik it's really sad) but I felt like you might be the only person I know who would genuinely respond/care?
I'm 15 and don't have a lot of problems. But like. I have problems right now and I'm very stressed. And it's 4am so there's also nothing I can do about it.
So here's why I'm stressed at 4am:
I'm on a competitive team. We're world class--top five in the world for three years straight. I want the most desired position on this team. I've wanted it since I was nine. Currently freaking out about the fact that if I breathe wrong I could mess this up.
I'm taking three AP classes. One of which is for a foreign language. I'm not good at it. Our teacher assigned three projects due in five days. I can't find them. Idk if it's the teacher's fault or if I'm so bad at reading the language I can't find it.
I'm drifting away from a friend I've had since we were four. I also have a crush on her. Anyway. She's on the girls' wrestling team. I'm trying to join to spend more time with her. However. I'm dumb out of shape and self-conscious about my body. And I'm joining halfway through the season while knowing literally nothing about wrestling. And the online sign-up thing keeps insisting that I'm not a student at the school I attend every day.
And none of that's even RELEVANT if I can't get my math grade up to an A before the end of the semester, because my mom has decreed that I can't participate in any sports until that happens!!
I took the PSAT. I'm not getting the scores because it keeps insisting that I don't exist and that I also don't attend the school I definitely attend. I'm having a great time.
Again, I'm taking three AP classes. I'm taking the AP tests for all of them. In four months. I feel as lost as I did on the first day of school. I can't keep the test sections straight between them. Two have the same name?? And mean different things?? What is this??
Thanks for reading. I'm just having a time right now and don't feel like I can confide in anyone.
ok, so i care a lot actually and im glad you felt like you could tell me.
im in a simmilar situation- high schooler, honors classes, drifting away from everyone i care about... and it sucks.
for the school not recognizing you as a student, id recoment going to your councilor or test coordinator. theyre pretty good at fixing those things, and the stress of AP classes are reduculous. for math, i usually rely on retake policies and extra credit. sometimes i write my teacher a paragraph about how hard things are and ask for another day on my asignments.
and for your crush, its little things like going for coffee or studying together that make people feel close. i text my bf good morning and gnight every day, so even if im busy and we dont talk much, we feel connected.
also, the psats are absolute bitches. aside from just trying to make it through and studying, the best advice i have is that everything in life is a phase. everything is temporary and thingd are always changing, for better or for worse. life is just trying to make it through that and still have a good time.
i hope things improve for you!

Find the Word Tag Game
I’ve been tagged by @on-noon to find the words they chose for me in any of my current WIPs and post the line/passage where I found each one. Thank you for the tag, and for the challenge! I definitely need to write more of my original works, because I found most of these in fanfics.
My words were: hoping, fit, home, caught, and compare
I found hoping in my Danny Phantom oneshot “Lingering Scars”:
"Going on with what? If you haven't noticed, Jazz, there's a lot going on all the time in this town. In this family. In my life. You're gonna have to be a little more specific."
"With you! With these stains! This is clearly blood from that huge scratch you got the last time you were trying to train Cujo, but you told me that already healed and I haven't seen you wincing at the dinner table once lately! I know you've done laundry since then, too, it's been at least a month. So why is there a stain? Why are you hurt in the same place, to the same degree, when I can't see any evidence that you're hurt! At all! What's going on with you?" Jazz is nearly out of breath by the time she finishes her questions. Her arms can't seem to settle on being crossed in front of her chest or flailed out in the direction of Danny's laundry.
"You... noticed all that?" Danny asks quietly, muttering a curse to himself and hoping Dani doesn't hear.
I found fit in a rough draft of my Given oneshot “Present Tense”:
There's a person. For the first time in what feels like a very long time, and no time at all, there's a person on the beach with him. Their back is turned to him, but their features keep… shifting. They’re wearing a strange uniform, that looks in turns like the one he used to wear in middle school and the one he wears now as a high schooler. It doesn't quite fit on their body, either. Maybe a girl wearing a boy's uniform that’s too big for her? Or a boy who's grown too quickly and made his clothes too small? Somehow, it's almost both. Neither. Why would anyone other than him be in a place like this, wearing clothes that keep changing on their own? The question doesn't stay in his mind long.
I found home in my novel WIP “To Be Honest”:
Their family had searched. An assistant sent by the Shepherd family had searched. Micah himself had gone out into the wilderness beyond his home time and time again, just like tonight, and that last question had never been answered. The questions of where Asher and David had gone, whether they'd lived or died, whether they blame him even now -- none of those have ever been answered. So why, when he finally gets a chance to ask someone who was actually involved, is Micah in this situation? Why is David insisting that Micah is trying to ask something else? What went wrong?
I found caught in “Lingering Scars” again:
"If you don't tell us why you're hurt, Danny, I swear I'll --!" she has her threats primed for him and everything. No mercy. No delay. Fenton through and through. Caught between terrifying a kid who's already been through too much and being hunted for sport by a Fenton who's been dabbling in ghost hunting her whole life.
I also found compare(d) in “Lingering Scars”:
For the first time since they'd started talking, the cold in Danny starts to ease. Settle back into its usual place. His blood always runs a little chilly, and he's always half-conscious of that nebulous space inside him where it all pools together, but it changes when he's scared. The intensity difference between the normal state of the ice powers that live in him and the literal fight-flight-or-freeze version of them can't possibly be compared. His whole body relaxes when it goes back to normal.
To keep the game going, I’ll tag @aohendo, @writingpotato07, @calicojackofficial, @midnights-melodiverse, @wildjuniperjones, @galaxy-writes, @365runesofwriting, and any other mutual who wants to try to find these words in their own WIPs can say I tagged them!
To those I’m tagging, your words are: agitation, exchange, gesture, deliberate, inconsistent

Meeting A Racist Skeleton
CW: human remains, racism, sexism, homophobia, and strong language

Yesterday my partner and I met up at a museum I never expected us to meet up at: Il museo di antropologia di criminale or Il museo di Cesaro Lombroso. Oddly sharing the building space with two other museums, namely Il museo della frutta (the museum of fruit) and Il museo della anatomia humana (the museum of human anatomy) this museum wasn't exactly one of Turin's most attractive tourist destinations.
Nonetheless, my friends had recommended it to us, and Antonio crudely joked that it was important that I witness "anthropology's mistakes". Given that many high schoolers in the region end up in Torino to visit its many museums, many people I knew had already been there. As an anthropologist and sociologist who was mildly infatuated with deviance during my undergrad years, this seemed like the place for me to visit. I kept thinking: just exactly, how did dear Cesaro embarrass us anthropologists even more than I was already aware of?
For those who are not familiar with anthropology, or if you are but happened to miss the historical summary of this terrible guy, Cesare Lombroso is the guy who charted criminality using skull measurements. So-called anthropometry as indicators of a person's likelihood towards committing crime. Using the corpses of several prisoners, both Italian and not, Lombroso sought to quantify physical characteristics that signaled criminality. From the size of one's brow bone to the presence of tattoos, it seemed like Lombroso was suspicious of any type of physical or expressed cultural difference. Hence, those prone to being free of crime were both white, and arguably boring.
In Victorian wood glass cases, very reminiscent of my experience at the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford, were skulls of actual Italian prisoners he studied. While not all the skulls were identifiable, there were a number of actual identified prisoner's skulls being displayed. Super duper creepy, in my opinion. Alongside those, were a selection of coloured wax maschere mortuarie (death masks) tagged with details like the name of the prisoners, their number, their home province, and their crime in large capital letters. Murders. Rapists. Document Falsifiers. It was very unnerving to see their faces from their deathbed, eerily replicated by both Lombroso and the other mortuary figures/anatomists he partnered with.
There were photographs of the dead prisoners, back from when they were still alive (of course). Weapons collected from the crimes of the prisoners-- think crucifixes with hidden knives, iron keys, and blunt objects. Personal artefacts like clothes or even crafts they made during the imprisonment were artfully arranged. Among the most silly, if not personal for me, was a selection of photographs of prisoners from French Indochina that were donated to Lombroso's cause by another questionable colonial French scientist. As Anto and I opened the digital touch display, a giant photograph of a Cambodian man appeared. Herein, Lombroso wrote notes about what the "Asian" criminal was like in comparison to other European ones. Che stronzo.
Beside Lombroso's anthropometric instruments were his collection of animal skeletons, which he used to base his ideas of racial hierarchy. He was a valiant believer in the idealised pure White man, which reigned over the "others" which he organised into categories of colour. "Black/brown" being at the bottom, followed by "yellow", "semite" and so fourth.
He then also accrued different characteristics about the impure/criminal white man, so all I took away from this is that you had to be both white and not do anything interesting in your life to begin with. Furthermore, being born into a working class/poor economic situation apparently doomed you to committing crime. Nonetheless, I don't think anyone was safe from his harsh, very poorly-conceived designations. However, in my opinion, being not-white and not-a-man, made your judgments way harsher.
Unsurprisingly, even hearing a voice actor recant Lombroso's racial purity hierarchy made me nauseous. Don't even get me started on his commentary about women, but most especially lesbians. He had this whole disgustingly confused notion that yes, women deserved rights, but they're actually still biologically inferior to men. They're just not able to be smart, he thought. He wrote and spoke a lot about how women criminals were even more evil and devilish than their man counterparts, being sure to emphasis how much he hates prostitutes. Prostitutes, as he believed, were more prone to the crime of homosexuality. Hah, okay. Calm down Cesaro, we get it. Nobody likes you...and for good reason!
Overall, it was a good museum visit. Indeed, science does progression from trial and error. It was good to see an anthropologist who did such incredibly poor work get corrected with time. Acknowledged for how stupid all his frameworks were. It's not to diminish the impact his work made...which I feel still lingers to this day within toxic hate group rationalities, but for the most part, we acknowledge what he did/believed in were actual mistakes.
The best part of the museum was actually meeting the material remains of Lombroso himself. At his death, he donated his body "to science" as they say. His brain and skeleton was given to his peers to dissect and do what they want. As I stared with absolute malice and hate at this man's skeleton, I pointed it out to Anto who commented "oh wow he was so short!" This made me laugh because of its randomness. It was nice to see that he was very much dead, even though I knew he was. Lombroso was such a stain on anthropology, but at least we can attempt to learn and remember his mistakes in future work. May we never forget the racist skeleton man.
