Like, is the baby even tired?

What if their baby is the super giggly social type haha.

Jayce and Viktor would try (and fail) to convince the other attendees that, yes, their baby is tired while holding the widely awake babe

The baby gave a single yawn (or was it just a deep breathe?) and Jayce and Viktor are both immediately like "well got to get this one into bed got to go" despite everyone else seeing that the kid is still very much awake and happy to be there.

I don't actually know if anyone would succeed at stopping them. Both Jayce and Viktor are very insistent that their baby is very sleepy and needs to get home and kind of just leave. Even if people try and press it they'd just be like "oh [baby] turns really quickly so we need to get [them] home now before [they] get cranky" and while you can gossip about it and try and pressure them to not leave it is a valid enough excuse to leave. They'd both lie the next morning as well to people - telling them how they got home and [baby] was already asleep in their arms despite the fact that in reality it had been another hour or two before they got the baby off to bed.

Even if the kid was actually clearly sleepy people would be trying to convince Jayce to stay and just let Viktor take the kid home. It wouldn't work because Jayce would just be like "no I'll go too, nice to meet you" and leave.

Honestly that kid is used as either a social blocker or escape route so much by them.
