you know for a while I debated whether FFXIV was ~top tier Final Fantasy~ for me because it’s such on odd/edge case but I think the situation might be even more dire than that and it’s a Star Wars, six drinks in, banging on the table and yelling about how it embodies certain religious concepts situation

and that’s hard because it’s an extremely large web, in some ways quite awkward and a strange thing to even exist as a storytelling vehicle. I may not ever play it in full again and I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the whole of it at once and it’s not something where I can readily invite people to roll around in the madness with me because it’s going to take them, uh, between 40 hours per expansion and the rest of their natural lives
