#and they were horrified at how they treated him as Phantom

Idk if you did this but can you do Diasomnia dorm timeskip! ( like Malleus is now king and the other three now happily serve him! ) there reactions(and reaction of great grandma Malificent! She gets Vietnam war flashbacks) of Mc(married to malleus) actually being a dragon light fae! That had their wings, horns, tail and even forced surgery to have human features, like if you even get close enough to them without them noticing you can see stitches on their ears! On their back the beautiful wings ripped off scars and you can even see whip lashes some older then others! Their tail chopped off like it was nothing! Their horns, would normally grow back buy sadly from them being broken so many times... over and over again they are no longer growing another reason they don't grow anymore is because of a magic infused seal made by the humans from that war so long ago... the magic infused seal keeps all of their magic... and that is a reason why mc seems to be called 'human' no one can sense it...
Gender-neutral reader. Heavy angst, talk of human, fae, and dragon mutilation.
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
You had become his spouse only a few years ago, but those years were the best in his life. He got to be tied in matrimony with his beloved, and he was happy to see that his retainers as well as his grandmother were all very accepting of the marriage.
Of course, he knows of the pain that humans have brought you due to you being a very rare and valuable light dragon. The first time he had seen your dragon form, he was expecting to see large and bright wings, but there were none in sight. In fact, you were more like a giant tailless lizard and it made him upset that you had endured so much.
But, he still views you as beautiful. The scars on your ears, the scars on your back, all of it was a symbol of strength and tolerance. He often placed gentle kisses upon said scars to make you feel a bit better on the days where the phantom wings really got into your head.
Tumblr media
Lilia Vanrouge
He was the first to notice the scars upon your ears, and he gently asked you about it. Of course, he was very neutral when it came to humans, but to hear that Malleus’s spouse had to endure such mutilation caused by humans made him question his neutrality. He was just happy that you saw Silver in a good light.
Lilia treats you as though you were one of his children, often calling you ‘dear’ and such. He became a source of comfort, as he knows what its like to suffer through painful torture at the expense of beings who you never guessed could do so much damage. After all, he doesn’t want any of his children to suffer alone.
Anyways, he was overjoyed to see Malleus finding another dragon to wed, and a very rare one at that. The bat fae could see that the two of you were very happy with each other and very in love, so he made sure that he would serve you until he drew his last breath.
Tumblr media
Silver
You had known him since he was a baby, and thus you held no resentment towards him. You were aware that not all humans were the same, and when he was a boy he voiced his desires to serve Malleus and you as a knight. His determination was both adorable and admirable, and you were the one to pull a few strings in the army to get him to training.
However, in the army, he heard whispers about how you were completely backwards: you were tortured by humans but did not seek revenge. Silver was definitely shocked and he later asked you what had happened. You said that he was too young to know and that you would tell him once he was older.
The knight had never forgotten, and after your wedding to Malleus, he had asked once again what happened. You told him the story about how you were abducted from your parents’ nest and mutilated. You even leaned in closely so he could see the scars on your ears, and Silver almost shed a tear at how horrifying it was.
Tumblr media
Sebek Zigvolt
You had also known him since he was rather young, and you had gotten to know his parents. The couple had known about how humans had destroyed Briar Valley and your body, but you held no resentment towards Mr. Zigvolt. When he enlisted to start training to become a knight, you had admired him for it.
Along with Silver, he heard from the soldiers that he was training with that humans would not survive this training course because of what they had done to you. Instead of asking you, he instead asked his parents what had happened. Imagine his surprise and pure disgust when he found out.
This caused him to further hate the human side of him, and he voiced his despair to you many years later, after your wedding to Waka-sama. However, you placed your hand gently on your shoulder as you stated that you harbored no ill-will against humanity and not against him or his father. The reassurance definitely made him cry.

Phantom and Plasmius get miniaturized by Fenton technology, they became what the Fenton's deemed a 'harmless' size. Literally only as big as the average baby, then they got taken by the two scientists down into their lab.
Plasmius took this in stride, however, Jack was an eyesore as always, but he saw this as an opportunity to get close to Maddie. Danny actively mocked him for it, but he was looking for a way to get out of their lab.
He's honestly hoping Jazz would notice he's missing and put the pieces together.
Their powers were a bit wonky right now, even more so after the Fenton's made something small enough to put on them to suppress their more, dangerous, powers by disrupting the flow of ectoplasm inside their bodies in the form of a damn collar.
The experiments the Fenton's performed had to be modified of course, thanks to their smaller size, but they were no less cruel. Danny knew his parents hated ghosts, but he never knew the full brunt of that hate extended so far, they didn't even treat him like he was intelligent, they regarded him as a pet- no, less than a pet.
Meanwhile Vlad, he was at first self-assured, wanting to woo Maddie this way, then it turned into surprise and then horror. He wasn't all that surprised by the experiments, no, he could see himself doing them as well if he weren't half ghost, but he was horrified that he had to participate in them.
A part of him wondered what would happen if he were to expose that he was half human, and he tried. He tried to show them that he was human, but they just wrote it off as a ghost imitating their family friend.
If he thought the previous experiments were cruel, they had nothing on the ones to do after that.
Which just made Danny even more sure that he shouldn't reveal his identity.
So after a multitude of experiments, where neither Danny nor Vlad knew how long it went on for, they planned for an escape. A plan which they acted on when Jack and Maddie left for a rather long period of time, Vlad made Danny walk out of the ghost shield since he wasn't chained up like he was and turn off the ghost shield.
Vlad and Danny managed to find the blueprints for the collar, rewriting it until the damn thing fell off their necks and then escaped into the ghost portal. Vlad was a bit miffed about having to leave behind all his wealth and the packers, but he would get over it, meanwhile Danny had to leave basically his entire life behind.
Not everyone was socially for 20 years like Vlad, so.
They would still try and kill the other occasionally, but now it was more to the ghost standard of bonding by fighting. They also formed some weird, fucked up form of comradery via having both been experiments to people they knew and liked.
They landed in a new dimension, one where quite literally nobody knew who they were or what they were. Vlad did what he did before, overshadowing a multitude of small yet successful companies and taking over them and their wealth, only the 'corrupted' ones at Danny's very vocal insistence.
Perhaps you could call it sympathy, pity, or something of the like. But Vlad used a good portion of his newly acquired money to help along the 'meta-humans' that inhabit this new dimension, with the added benefit of helping himself of course as both he and Danny would be categorized as one because of their size and abilities most likely.
Vlad drowned himself in a fuck ton of work, throwing a part of his attention into taking care of his new business and getting it back on the level that the one he left behind was on. The other part of his attention was thrown into finding Danny schooling that wouldn't be bigoted towards Meta-humans and would also serve as a place where Danny could (hopefully) become well connected with the children of high society.
Which took him to Gotham city, while he cannot ensure that the other students wouldn't bully him for his extremely tiny size, he could at least ensure the education and opportunities would be adequate.
Now he just had to find a way to acquaint himself for one Brucie Wayne and the rest of the Gotham elites.

DP X DC WRITING PROMPT #2
(Well this is surprising. Not really sure if this idea will make any sense, but here we go.)
(#) = Notes at the end of post
(*) = Just me building off of other ideas
Danny, as Ghost King, gets summoned by the Legion of Doom(?) to help end the Justice League. Except for this summoning fic, they literally summon him off of a GIW lab table where he was being experimented on. Danny is bleeding, barely conscious, and having a really horrible time. This garners a split reaction. Some villains, while surprised, are indifferent. Others are horrified. Not really sure which villains would be which except maybe Lex Luthor(1).
When Danny gets patched up, Lex learns later on that day that he's one of the people responsible for helping pass the Anti-Ecto Acts. However, he only helped passed it to get the people who kept sending it to finally desist, thinking it was all a hoax/big joke and that it wouldn't really matter in the long run. Now he knows it wasn't just a big joke and now that he sees the results of that decision, he regrets it.
While the Legion of Doom isn't short on medical supplies, it's not a great environment for healing, villain or not. Plus, he's kinda useless for the reason he was summoned if he's this seriously wounded. So, he does something he's never done before. He tips off the Justice League about the injured teenage monarch and skedaddles back home and out of the way where he can also start figuring out a way to take down the Anti-Ecto Acts.
Meanwhile, Team Phantom (Sam, Tucker, Jazz, and Valerie. Maybe Wes too for extra humor? 👀) finally have a lock on Danny's location now that he's no longer in a GIW facility--they have ecto-signature blocking technology. They all suit up and get there way before the Justice League and have already taken out the villains still in the LoD HQ by the time they show up and are in the process of trying to transport Danny. The League are a combination of surprised, impressed, and concerned. They invite Team Phantom back to the Watchtower so they can help treat Phantom's injuries.
It's here that the League learns about the Anti-Ecto Acts and what had happened to Phantom to put him in such serious condition. Outraged, a team is organized to hit any GIW facilities and free any citizens of the Infinite Realms while Batman and a few others stay behind to help dismantle the Acts. Team Phantom manage to get the League to agree to have at least one of them on each team they send out, since they have more experience dealing with the GIW and ghosts alike.
With the combination of the League and Lex Luther (unknown to them), the Anti-Ecto Acts are dismantled and the captured ghosts are freed and Danny is all healed up, though still traumatized. His friends help him deal with it--Jazz plus Black Canary are especially invaluable in his psychological healing process. Meanwhile, the JL are incredibly impressed with how knowledgeable and well-trained they are for having no mentors to teach them. Even more so once they hear all the battles they've fought along side Phantom.
The JL come to a decision. They invite all of Team Phantom to join Justice League Dark, the JL subdivision for magic/the occult. After talking it over, they all agree to join.
Thats where it ends unless you wanna continue it from there.
Notes:
(1) Which villains do you think would be sympathetic to Danny's condition? I don't know any of them well enough to pick. Do you think Lex Luther would actually feel sympathy for Danny? Small redemption arc? Do him and Danny meet again at some point on somewhat good terms?
(*) Maybe continue it with reactions from the Team from Young Justice? Maybe they're upset that some out of town teenagers got a JL invitation before they even got theirs? In response the JL have Team Phantom meet and train with Team YJ to get them to realize why exactly they were invited to join.

I don't know if anyone has suggested such an idea or written such a fanfic, but the idea came to me on a sleepless night and I can't keep it to myself. I hope someone will be inspired by this idea and write such a story.
After the storm's end, Luke comes home alive and doesn't tell about the incident with his dear uncle, he just talks about being denied support. And Aemond once home remains silent and just shuts himself up in his chambers not wanting to see anyone. When Luke wakes up the next morning, he does not immediately realize that he is not in his chambers. He feels weak and has a strange sensation, but he also feels something wrong with his eyes and at that moment a slight pain pierces the left side of his face. When he looks around, he sees a mirror and hurries to it to look at his face and is horrified to see not himself but Aemond in the reflection. His first thought is that it's just a dream, but with each passing minute, he realizes that it's real and somehow he's in the body of the man he took his eye from. Panic begins to engulf the young man, coupled with the realization that he is in enemy territory, albeit in the body of his uncle. He can't ask for help, as he doesn't know what to do next.
At the same time, in Lucerys' chambers, a similar situation happens to Aemond, who curses the gods for having chosen his nephew out of all the people he could move into.
It will be interesting to see how these two people, having switched places and lives, learn something new about each other. Luke could learn how hard it is for his uncle with one eye. He could have encountered the phantom pains that plague Aemond to this day. Lucerys would see how everyone treats his uncle, how Alicenta ignores him and treats him like a stranger. After spending a small amount of time in Aemond's shoes, he begins to understand his feelings and grows even more sympathetic to him.
Aemond, in his nephew's body, could see that things aren't going so well for Luke either. Yes he is loved and cared for, but there are a lot of expectations and demands placed on him. He could have found a stash in his room with a journal in which Luke would write all of his experiences. About how he doesn't want to be a lord, how he's tired of everything. The war, the fighting, all the pressure. He learns his thoughts about Aemond and how he feels guilty about his uncle and would gladly give up both eyes if it would soothe Aemond's soul and bring peace, but he can't let that happen because of his family (Rhaenyra, Daemon and Jace). He could find his drawings of his dear uncle and his thoughts that if he were Alicenta, he would choose Aemond to be king because he is smarter, stronger and better suited to be king than drunken Aegon.
Aemond might realize that Rhaenyra is not really as she has been described, and that she is in fact a beautiful queen.
Lucerys would learn that Aegon doesn't want to be king, they could have a frank conversation where Luke would listen to him and support him morally, maybe even confess to the body-swap situation and surprisingly, he would start helping them and go with Luke to a secret place.
Aemond could write a letter to Luke suggesting a secret meeting where they could assess the situation and try to find a solution. You could see the dragons' attitude towards them, as they would need to get to the meeting with the help of dragons. The dragons would sense that these were not their riders. The body and scent belonged to them, but not the soul. They will need to be approached. Arrax will fear Aemond in Luke's body but will still accept him and allow himself to be ridden, but Lucerys will have a harder time with Vhagar as he will be constantly stopped by his fear of this mighty beast, but he will still be able to overcome himself and gain her favour. They go head to head and of course fight at first, but then they come to peace and begin to find a solution to the problem.
They have more frequent secret meetings to find a solution to their unusual problem and as time goes on they get used to each other and later they come to the point where they apologise to each other for the pain and hurt that has troubled their souls and they forgive each other, hug each other and go home. The next day they wake up in their bodies, they are overjoyed and fly to their secret place, where they do not hold back their happiness and joy and share their first kiss, then they learn that Aegon has handed over the crown to Rhaenyra, deciding to leave the kingdom and go to the free islands. Now the green and the black live together and Lucerys and Aemond have more time and opportunity to be close to each other.

The Heart of the Matter Ch.4
Chapter 1 (Parts 1-3), Chapter 2, Chapter 3
Info: Some background for how the other Lanterns fit the AU is present - some of their basics are changed up to better work with the AU as well. I’m also not using the Ultraviolet Lanterns.
***
Danny listens patiently as Clockwork weaves a tale of Ghost Zone history.
He’d learned the legends of the previous High Kings - his predecessors - before he took the throne, so Clockwork skims a bit.
But where the story should end, with Pariah Dark being sealed away - skipping over the time of his absence and subsequent defeat that Danny himself had wrought - he keeps going.
He hadn’t expected much from the glossed over history - his first years as a ghost had been a part of that era. He assumed he was familiar enough with what went on in the Zone in that time frame.
He was wrong.
The Observants had been a pain in the neck for as long as Danny had known them; he certainly hadn’t expected their history to be happy or uplifting.
He had expected to be bored to tears; just another history lecture about paperwork-this and proper-procedure-that.
Instead, he got a horror story.
He’d lain awake countless nights in that first year of being a halfa, fearing what his parents would do if they caught him. Then fearing what the GIW would do if they caught him - especially after that near-miss when they started employing more competent agents.
He’d spent hours and days and weeks and months worrying over the laws of the Living as pertained to the Dead. Even more so after his coronation.
When he finally revealed his halfa status to his parents, they had come around. They accepted him as he was - their son, just as he’d always been.
And, like a veil lifting from their eyes, they realized how much they’d allowed their biases to blind them.
They started doing real science - not just with the weapons, but with the ghosts themselves - and they’d come to the same conclusion Danny and Tucker and Sam and countless other residents of Amity Park had: that ghosts are sentient, sapient beings with both physical and emotional feelings, and they deserve to be treated as such.
Ever since they had worked tirelessly to have the Anti-Ecto Acts repealed, countless hours of real research and data gathering.
Presentations.
Protests.
Petitions.
Even Vlad - who had, for whatever reason, begun slowly but surely turning over a new leaf ever since Danny had outed himself as Phantom to his parents - had chipped in, throwing his money and political weight around.
Danny had been hopeful about the future of Living-Dead relations, as limited as they were by nature.
That hope makes a slow, swirling journey down a metaphorical toilet drain the longer Clockwork speaks.
Countless ghosts, stolen away and sealed screaming into their own cores as a fuel source. A barbaric practice that even some of Pariah Dark’s supporters had found distasteful - for all they hadn’t dared say it to his face - when he invented and subsequently made use of it.
Danny had been a fan of the Green Lanterns since he had learned of their existence - space cops, hello? - but thinking of them now, he only feels sick.
Flying around unknowingly using the dead as a battery.
The Oan had deceived them into inflicting the very same cruelty - the evil - that they had been sworn to oppose; causing sapient beings to suffer in the name of their so-called peace.
Learning that there were more Lanterns should have been exciting.
Instead, he only grew increasingly horrified as Clockwork listed them off.
The Yellow Lanterns, founded by a Green Lantern in conjunction with a living, psychic fear parasite - just a Fright Knight flavored version of the originals.
The Orange - a single, furious ghost that had managed to gain control over a small prototype battery and flee, drawing shades into its prison in an attempt to overload the battery and escape.
The Blue Lanterns: Green Lanterns, hope edition.
And the Star Sapphire Lanterns: a brief attempt by a few Oan to be a bit more symbiotic about things, but who eventually became just a different kind of Green Lantern. And who could’ve guessed that the ghost wouldn’t be happy about being enslaved to a fate as magical fashion statements.
Were Danny in human form for the meeting, he thinks his blood would be boiling.
He is furious, disgusted, dismayed; his core cries out to help the trapped.
He has to ask - “Why now? Why wait to tell me?” - even though he’s sure he’ll get a cryptic answer.
He doesn’t.
And oh, how carefully the Observants (and he spits the name like a curse within his own mind) had trapped Clockwork - the one being they knew would learn of their indiscretions. The one being who could and would oppose them.
They’d trapped him in a web of his own making; carefully prompted words, seemingly careless requests, and meaningless questions.
Clockwork had been young once, too, and the incaution of his youth hadn’t allowed him to anticipate the growing cruelty and callousness of those he had trusted with keeping the balance in the interim until a new king could be found.
Danny doesn’t ask him to explain why he hadn’t changed the past; he had seen for himself how poorly that could go.
But Danny Phantom is the High King of the Infinite Realms.
Names have power.
Titles have power.
Belief has power.
And the High Kings have been sought out as mediators since even the first.
It is the work of a single sentence to break each and every contract that once bound the Master of Time.
For good measure, he demands: “Tell me about everything the Observants have been hiding from me.”
He gets more than he’d hoped for, but no less than he’d expected.
Cover-ups - most of the cores they had fed to the Lantern Corps had been from ghosts who wanted to improve the Realms again - to make things more peaceful, to help with mediation or do something about the increasingly erratic natural portals.
Ghosts who threatened their power over the Realms
Anyone who doubted the strength and terror of the Green Lanterns - and their eventual variants.
Those who were a danger to their complete control.
Who might expose the cracks in their flawless image.
The only opposition that had managed to survive their careful cullings were known as Red and Black Lanterns.
The Red Lanterns, Clockwork tells him, are ghosts who chose to oppose the Green Lanterns despite the odds - or who were forced to by their leader, Atrocitus. A being that opposed the Lanterns even in life, he willingly threw himself and his fellows into the jaws of death when he learned the truth behind the Green Lanterns’ powers, founding his own Corps.
His consideration for his fellow ghosts is secondary to his rage and grief, making for a mix of volunteers and conscripts among their number. They believe it is worth temporarily stooping to the enemy’s level if it means eventually crushing them and freeing all those who have been entrapped.
The Black Lanterns, led by a death deity ghost named Necron, are apparently an attempt to form an army against the living, both to reclaim the cores lost to the other Lanterns and to ‘increase the domain of the High King of the Infinite Realms!’
As if they weren’t already infinite.
Necron worshiped Pariah Dark when he reigned, and has apparently worshiped Danny from the moment he took the throne. He adores death, as he was born of its concept, and wants to create more dead people through murder and mayhem. He also wishes to protect the dead from the living.
The ghosts that align with him both like piloting kind-of-living bodies and see opposing the Green Lanterns - who ‘trespass upon that which is rightfully the king’s,’ aka enslaving ghost cores as fuel sources - as their sacred duty.
The two remaining Lantern Corps had been hidden from him out of fear that drawing his attention to the fact there are more corps might incite enough curiosity for him to look into the matter more, eventually leading him to the awful truths behind the Lanterns.
The Indigo Lanterns were created by a hive-mind like psychic ghost forming a symbiotic relationship with the living to fulfill its obsession in the living realm - not that the living involved are aware that their power source is a ghost benefitting from their partnership. Apparently the ghost just steals whatever ecto-energy or -plasm they need from the Green Lantern battery’s metaphysical shunting system - it’s not like the frequency is a secret, what with the Oan not expecting any of the cores to be conscious enough to intentionally siphon from it.
The White Lanterns were created by a being simply known as Balance - the balance equivalent of Clockwork. They disapprove of the artificial destruction of life the Black Lanterns are aiming for, instead acknowledging that the Living Realm and the Ghost Zone are two sides of a coin and wanting the living to flourish as much as possible so that more die in the long run. The ghosts working with them agree - and also want to kind of pilot human bodies for a bit.
Silent tears - of sadness and anger both - trail down his cheeks as he takes it all in, grieving for those who had been wronged.
Atrocitus, who had spent so long lost to his grief.
The orange ghost, stuck failing to save themself for billions of years.
The countless other ghosts that the Observants had personally delivered into a nightmare even worse than anything Danny himself had managed to conjure up on his worst nights.
Something occurs to him.
“Wait…you said you couldn’t bring this up before, because of the restrictions. But the restrictions were still in place when you came to me. What changed?”
“A man named Jason Todd,” Clockwork tells him, “Who crawled out of his own grave in the second most ecto-contaminated city on Earth to swim in some of the most sub-par ectoplasm present in the living realm. Jason Todd, the halfa who doesn’t know he’s a halfa, whose complete lack of ghostly knowledge has left his life in shambles.”
And Danny’s core aches with the familiarity of it.
“Unable to manage his obsession, fully unaware that there’s anything to manage as he is. Too little ectoplasm to be stable and healthy - mentally or physically. And it is only by the grace of his city’s contamination level that he gets any ectoplasm at all.”
He pauses, dramatic as ever - or maybe perfecting his timing.
“Jason Todd, supposedly dead son of Bruce Wayne, who recently met with a Green Lantern. Ghosts can sense each other, even reduced to our cores, and this ability is passed onto the Lanterns.”
Danny bristles, practically flinging himself from his throne and into the air.
“The Lanterns don’t know the truth about their rings,” he continues, “The Oan hid it from them after the first few had to be mind-wiped because, for some reason, the people chosen for their exceptional morals and force of will were generally unwilling to condone what amounts to a combination of slavery and torture.”
Danny is flooded with relief at this; it didn’t fix what had happened to the ghosts involved and the Oan would need to be managed, but there was hope that the Lanterns would help them. Would free the ghosts’ cores willingly.
That the Justice League hadn’t willingly worked with a torturing enslaver.
That there were allies to be had among the living, even beyond the close-knit borders of Amity Park.
Still, if Jason Todd was safe then why bring him up.
“Unfortunately,” Clockwork says gravely, “This means that the Lantern he met with reported what seemed to him like a ring lodged in someone’s chest straight to Oa. And the Oan are all too eager to have him lure Jason Todd in with false medical concern and promises of their so-called ‘aid.’ It will work, and the events that would be set in motion-”
Danny doesn’t need to know what else will happen, another person’s core getting ripped out and them getting fully killed is bad enough.
He’s gone before Clockwork can say anything else.
He knows roughly where Wayne Manor is; he can look up more specific directions on his phone once he’s in New Jersey.
---------------------
Danny is gone before he can finish speaking, all too eager to help.
To save.
Let him think of his own disaster timelines-that-might-have-been, none he can guess could be as cruel as the truth.
(What difference a single friend makes - a segway to a peaceful meeting that would have been combative. To alliance.
Knowledge is power, but it is also protection. Jason Todd leads to Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne leads to Hal Jordan.
It amazes Clockwork almost as much as it appalls them, sometimes: how a simple conversation can divert disaster. A single friend leads to diplomacy instead of a fire-fight, leads to peace instead of the King’s family being killed and their cores crushed in an attempted coup by the Observants while the Oan dealt with the King - as if they ever stood a chance.
How a small slackening of the leash could lead to the whole thing being ripped to shreds.
It had been too long since Clockwork had spoken to the other ancients; perhaps it was time for him to change that.)
***
Info: The Observants lied - a ghost with a satisfied obsession can become infinitely powerful in the human realm. They’ll need ecto eventually, just like humans need food/water, but it isn’t a limitation of power. The rings' energy channeling and restriction method prevents the ghosts from forming anyway, but the Observants don’t want to give away too much and risk being turned on and left with no cards to play. They are very aware that the Guardians are using them for resources and see little difference between themselves and any random core mounted on a ring.
Next chapter we finally get to the meet-up!

Hi I like to request for yandere speedwagon please and thank you ❤❤
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Thanks for my first request! Due to nothing being specified I will write general head cannons for Yan Phantom Blood Speedwagon! Automatically gender neutral as well. I mean it's kinda one-shotish? Also, fun fact, I'm literally haunted by Speedwagon srs.
Warnings!!: Murder is mentioned, mentions of self sacrifice/starving oneself. As well as minor mentions of coercion.
―――――――――――――――――――――――
Yandere Speedwagon Head cannons;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-`▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬´-
We should start where it began, right? It's most likely that you were also some orphaned kid kicked out on the curb of Ogre street. Another poor soul similar to himself, possibly getting wrapped up in the same street gang he had also joined. Or maybe working freelance for any sort of income, but with how horrendous children are treated out there it's most likely not even worth trying. That's exactly why Speedwagon had even started to rely on criminal means to get by.
No matter how the two of you meet, either with normal or criminal means. It's a good thing to have people to rely on, and that's exactly what you were to the young man. Someone he could rely on when all else failed.
During the start of your formative years with the young blond boy, Speedwagon had a nack for getting himself into potentially life threatening situations. Either mugging the wrong gentleman on the streets, or getting caught stealing. Whatever it may be, you would either be right there to get him out of the fray, even heal and tend to his easily avoidable wounds... It makes a certain kind of trust to form between you two. Even if he's not entirely trustful of you at first, but as soon as you'd show him that you genuinely care, unlike those gangsters within Ogre street, he loosens up quickly. Much like how he saw Johnathans gold heart, he saw yours.
And as the two of you aged, growing up together like the family neither of you had, he'd soon grow more and more protective of you. Speedwagon values the genuinely good hearted people, it's an ideology you can't remove from him even with his sprees of theft and even murder. Being constantly exposed to such disturbing and horrifying things does something to people. He doesn't want to see the same thing happen with you. Not you, so, soon enough he asks you to stay behind. Not exactly restricting if you could go out or not. He knows you're capable, he's only paranoid that he would either find you dead or in an even worse state.
Especially when the two of you enter into adulthood, Speedwagon's paranoia about your safety reaches its absolute peak. Which would push his mental state further. Requesting that you just stay inside. Stay in the abandoned building the two of you called home until he gets back. He couldn't bear to see you hurt, especially when he could so easily prevent it.
To also say that over your years spent together in hell on earth made him catch some feelings for you, ones that aren't all that platonic. You've been his backbone since childhood, it was only natural that those feelings had realized themselves into this feeling of devotion. Especially with how brutal it is to live in such a place where food is considered a luxury. And Robert is a rather lucid man, he knows that a place like Ogre street isn't somewhere to fall in love- per say. Yet— he can't help this giddy feeling the blond gets around you even if he'd t.
You're a small dash of color in a land full of blacks and grey's. It only makes his heart swoon in joy once he's able to return to the place the two of you call home. Sometimes the man fantasizes about the both of you being married when this happens. That he's just your loving husband returning home, yet he knows that's not a reality. Yet, at least.
Over time he'd have a habit of trying to show off. Either from his bizarre fighting style to his almost frightening awareness and ability to narrate his surroundings to a T. Robert finds joy in this, seeing the way you either comment on his ability or subtly laugh at his goofy nature. It makes his days just a little bit brighter. It only fed this growing feeling in his heart that the two of you were meant to be.
But don't be fooled by his silliness, he can be quite serious when need be. As Robert himself has killed before, and will not hesitate to do so again when there's no other option left. It's most likely that he has killed someone for you're sake- either it be a dedicated creep or some London lowlife, he does feel guilty, but he'd rather protect those he loves rather than people he doesn't even know...
His street personality is strikingly different from his almost golden retriever-like attitude he carries around you at all times. Isn't he just the cutest, most charming man you've seen? Even if his antics are perceived as rather rude or extrinsic, Robert doesn't care. He'd light himself on fire to have those eyes on him for even a second longer...
These feelings he holds for you are rather charming. It runs deep within, more so than anyone could expect. As the eccentric man couldn't see himself where he is right now without you. You've played such a big role in why he's still breathing that he genuinely believes that he couldn't have survived up until now without your guidance and hospitality. His heart yearns to spew out his woes, to embrace you and never let go. He'd be the happiest man on earth if you even grazed his calloused and dirtied hands even accidentally. Practically making his stress melt away in record time and with flawless efficiency. There's nothing you could do now that would change Robert's view of you, he's practically like a trailing puppy at this point. Wherever you go, good ol' Robert E.O Speedwagon is not far behind!
He would give up anything to keep you well and happy, especially during those cold winters where he'd lend you anything warm he had- even if the two of you had the luxury of a fireplace in this old and rotten home. Robert would happily freeze, bleed and even starve if it meant that you were safe and sound.
The man is dedicated enough to bring around with him over a dozen momento's of you. From a torn and dirty piece of fabric that once belonged to your old clothes, maybe some locks of hair— if he's lucky enough he'd find some sort of locket to store these items of love— kissing it for good luck whenever he has the chance too. Robert is a hopeless romantic, after all. Keeping such things with him reminds him of why he's still fighting, to get back to you each time.
Oh, and about his prior fantasies of getting married— Robert would be overjoyed if you were to accept his proposal, even if it did take a bit of coercion. Robert is still over the moon with joy. With or without a ring, it doesn't matter to him. Especially after the events of Phantom Blood, Robert is just relieved that he's able to live the rest of his life with you without the threat of the supernatural or vampires... Or anyone else to disturb the two of you anymore...

hand on my stupid heart flashbacks
this is a No One Knows AU & Full Hazmat AU where Danny ended up in the Ghost Zone & didn't go back into the human world initially because he thought he was dead. by the time he realized he is, in fact, at least half alive, he'd already been missing for at least 2 weeks. will probs never finish homsh sorry. i wrote this a couple years ago in a haze & just haven't been able to finish it because i can't replicate the style, which i find is what i love about this fic the most. it wouldn't be the same without it. posting the flashback introsーwhich are meant to be read between chapters/the actual plot, starting after chapter 1ーcuz fuck it. excuse typos & shit, i never properly edited it, as i forgot it existed immediately after i wrote it original description of homsh: Danny Fenton has officially been missing for over a year. Maddie & Jack Fenton refuse to give up on their son. Sick and tired of the police running them in circles, and the case getting colder by the day, the Fentons turn to their last resortーPhantom. 800~ words (full unfinished fic is 20k~)
-
When Danny woke up surrounded by thick, green fog, and couldn’t breathe without swallowing heavy air that was more like water than anything, he was sure he was dead. The portal glowed behind him, illuminating the pitch darkness around him in soft, yellow, warm light.
He almost went back.
Almost.
He was dead. His parents were ghost hunters. They had drilled into his head from the moment he was born that he could never, ever panic in death. That he would accept it. That he would not be scared. So he would be prepared to be brave in the face of death and would not become a ghost.
He panicked. He did not accept it. He was terrified. And so he woke up in the Ghost Zone.
-
Danny went back through the portal when he saw some ectopuses acting… strange. Like they had an idea in their heads. Like they had a plan.
Which was weird, with animal ghosts. He had only been in the Ghost Zoneーmom and dad called it that, he rememberedーfor a couple weeks. Or, he had already been there for two weeks. Or maybe time worked differently and he was there five minutes, or four years orー
The ectopuses went through the portal and, despite everything, Danny went after them.
While he was busy reeling at being home, the ectopuses immediately attacked dad. Danny was horrified. Jack was overwhelmed. Danny stepped in, in a moment fueled by sheer adrenaline and stupidity, snatching a Fenton Thermos™ off a shelf and releasing his shaky invisibility. The ectopuses didn’t stand a chance. And when they were safely in the Thermos, he slowly turned around to dad, ready for the confrontation. Ready for the “what happened to you?” and the “where have you been?” and the “we’ve missed you”.
Dad scrambled to shoot at him.
Danny fled.
His parents didn’t recognize him.
-
The Lunch Lady attacked when Danny was mourning Halloween.
He’d waited all year. He made a costume that summer. He wouldn’t get to go trick or treating with Sam and Tucker this year. Or any year. For the rest of his lifeーor existence. Whatever.
The Lunch Lady appeared in the school and demanded in straight fury, “Who changed the menu?”
Everyone pointed at Sam.
Danny hadn’t known just how powerful ghosts could be. His parents never told him the specifics. Just that they were dangerous.
This ghost grew and her aura hit him like a hurricane, almost physically pushing him back. It was so strong that the students in the Casper High cafeteria seemed to feel it too.
The Lunch Lady was a much harder opponent than the ectopuses. She levitated meat. She used it as a weapon, and seemed to bring it back to life. She created weird meat creatures that grew sharp teeth and claws out of bones. They were mindless, attacking everything that got too close to the ghost. Danny would have run away without hesitation, if Sam hadn’t been in the crossfire.
Danny fought the Lunch Lady. It was a long struggle, but he caught her in the thermos after over an hour. When he turned to Sam and Tuckerーboth of whom he had to save due to Tucker trying to jump into the fightーall three of them bloody and bruised, he cringed. But a part of him hoped. Desperately.
Surely they would know him on sight.
“Wh-what are you?” Sam gasped at him finally.
Danny flinched as if she had struck him. “J-just… your friendly neighbourhood phantom.”
-
Danny didn’t know what possessed him. Oh. Pun not intended.
He just barely caught the Fentons leaving in the GAV, dragging suitcases behind them. He couldn’t help himself. What on Earth were they doing?
They were going to Vlad Master’s mansion for their college reunion.
It was a whole thing. But something was off. Besides all the adults reminiscing about the 80’s.
Danny sensed ghosts immediately but he couldn’t see anything. Unfortunately for him, Vlad could also sense him. It was two days of Danny staying invisible, and Vladーthe halfa? Is that what Danny is?ーtrying to kill Jack. Somehow, Danny managed to fight off Vlad, not turn back, and without the Fentons getting hurt. His secret intact.
VladーPlasmius, also learned about Phantom. And Vlad hated him. The manーghostーwhatever, seemed to only care about one thingーpossession. Of money. Of things. Of people. He was more ghost than Danny had ever seen. Vlad’s obsession was overwhelming.
Danny couldn’t believe someone so much like himself could be so disturbing.

Susan Kay's 'Phantom' Read: Part VI (Erik-Christine Counterpoint)
Dear God.
I can now unequivocally say I hate this book. Some of you may have caught my vent post from earlier which I wrote in one of the many moments I had to put the book down and walk away for the good of my own health and sanity.
The badness of this book has now ceased to be amusing and is now just... bad. So bad in fact that I think it triggered my bronchial asthma and I had to get out of the bathtub and find my inhaler before I could finish this portion.
To sum up it really seems like Kay lost any and all interest in exploring Leroux's characters once she finished Erik’s back-story. Yes there were differences from Canon even there, but the story was still following Leroux's timeline and was by-and-large canon compliant.
This section, barring a few superficially similar details is virtually unrecognizable from the source material.
Yes Erik begins to teach Christine under the guise of the Angel of Music, and yes he takes her down under the Opera house for two weeks. And yes they go up for the masquerade and yes Christine and Raoul plan to run away on the rooftop, leading to Erik planning to blow up the Opera house out of desperation.
Carlotta croaks like a toad and the chandelier does indeed crash.
Yet all of these details seem like perfunctory afterthoughts. The intervening material is so wholly divorced from Leroux's story that when events from the canon are included, it felt almost jarring to me.
I hate the way Kay characterizes Christine, and Erik is just as bad if not worse.
Christine’s descent into the lair is clearly modeled off of the Musical/1925 movie, with Erik drawing her down into the tunnels in a trance. And Christine asks for the Angel to take her away! How convenient for Erik!
I would have been far more interested in seeing the abduction from the book as told from Erik's perspective.
This launches a self-indulgent two weeks of Christine essentially worshipping at Erik's feet, which is shattered only by a frankly ineffective unmasking scene (again based on the musical/1925 movie and less affecting than either).
This is no torrid, passionate, innately horrifying yet also emotionally heart-wrenching unmasking of Leroux. Christine simply snatches the mask and Erik has a heart attack(?) before he can fully choke her out.
Christine’s shock at discovering that her Angel is actually a man, and then her horror of his face is lacklustre, and completely insufficient to convince me that this is really a big enough stumbling block to prevent her from marrying him. She puts him on such a high pedestal and Erik does absolutely nothing to contradict her. He says he worships her, but in action, she is always deferential to him. He never prostrates himself before her, never treats her like a queen, like a goddess. He never follows her around like a faithful dog, as he does in Leroux. On the contrary, she follows him.
She's so obviously in love with Erik that her claims of confusion regarding her feelings for him come off as flaccid and disingenuous, and her obvious preference for Erik and her complacency with her situation sap any tension from the love story.
Don't misunderstand me, I like when a Christine has a preference for Erik. My problem is that Kay has completely lain all her cards on the table. Christine speaks freely and almost easily of Erik to Raoul who is basically a cardboard cut out. Kay's attempt at "exploring" whether Raoul's doubts in Christine's love for him are really founded in Christine secretly holding a candle for Erik is ultimately pointless because the READER already knows that she finds Raoul's love a pale comparison to what she feels with Erik! There's no mystery here!
(Its unfortunate that Kay wrote this before having access to Lowell Bair's translation, which provided us for the first time with Leroux's own answer to that Question: Why tempt fate, Raoul! Why ask me about things which I keep hidden in the back of my heart like a sin?"
It makes it feel even more incomprehensibly perfunctory when Christine decides to run away with Raoul when she knows that she could simply marry Erik for however long he has left (he's apparently not long for this world anyway) and then go on with her life. Gah!!
And then there's how Kay infantilizes Christine. While Leroux's Christine is eccentric and dreamy and credulous, she is not ignorant or "unstable". She's aware of the ways of the world
You would say that to me, Raoul? You, an old playfellow of my own! A friend of my father! You have changed since those days, Raoul. What can you be thinking of? I am an honest girl, M. le Vicomte de Chagny, and I don't lock myself in my dressing room with mens voices!"
Christine very clearly understands the implications here, and she's outraged and offended that Raoul would even imply that she would conduct herself with impropriety.
And it's not only Kay who infantilizes Christine, but Erik as well:
I'm beginning to realize just how much of a child she really is, how terrifyingly immature and vulnerable--even unstable. There's a fatal flaw running through her, like a hairline crack in a Ming dynasty vase, but that imperfection makes me love her with even greater tenderness. I don't suppose for one moment that that boy is aware of the never-ending care she'll need. Whoever marries Christine is going to have to play the father as well as the lover; if she lives to be eighty she may never be more than a child at heart, a lost and frightened little girl, bewildered by the demands of reality.
This is infuriating to me, because, as M. Grant Kellermeyer so astutely points out in his footnotes of the 2018 Old Style Tales Edition of the book:
"He confesses his cheat. He loves me! He lays an immense and tragic love at my feet... he has carried me off for love! He has imprisoned me with him underground, for love! But he respects me!*"
* - This, indeed, seems to be a unique experience in Christine's life: she is surrounded by people who despise her (Carlotta), dismiss her (the managers), idolize her (Raoul), infantilize her (Mama Valerius), and pity her (the opera workers)--Erik alone respects her. Erik alone sees in her the power and artistry that becomes increasingly obvious as her character grows in confidence and assertiveness. Erik fears her to an extent, and [...] it is likely that Christine is simply touched by Erik's belief in her, his confidence in her, and his devotion to her success.
And Kellermeyer's point about Christine growing in assertiveness is very very important. She wields power over both Erik and Raoul.
But Kay's Christine doesn't. Erik's treatment of her, both his actual treatment and his internal monologue is absolutely horrible, so again NOT AT ALL how Leroux's Erik treats her.
Let's start with the stretch where he's playing the Angel (Alexa play album "Playing the Angel" by Depeche Mode)
Christine says:
He's so stern and exacting in his demand for perfection; he never praises me, even when I know I have done well. He remains aloof and cold in his timeless imperishable wisdom, and I know that the worship of a mortal heart can mean nothing to him.
Kayrik said he wanted to be her angel who would make her feel confidence in herself at last, and yet none of his behaviour exhibits any desire to do that. I hate interpretations of Erik that take "stern" to mean cold or outright verbally abusive. That is terrible teaching method and never produces good results. Furthermore, in Leroux, Christine never mentions the Angel withholding praise, and when he is aloof following Raoul's reappearance in Christine's life, it even seems as though this is a departure from the norm.
Arguably one of the most iconic moments of the original novel is the scene where Christine is left alone in her dressing room after recovering from a fainting spell that saw her carried off the stage immediately after her triumph. Raoul, outside her room, hears Christine and Man's voice conversing and we are given some of the most iconic lines in the novel:
He had heard a man's voice in the dressing room, saying, in a curiously masterful tone:
"Christine, you must love me!"
And Christine's voice, infinitely sad and trembling as though accompanied by tears, replied:
"How can you say that to me? To me, when I sing only for you!"
[...]
The man's voice spoke again: "Are you very tired?"
"Oh, tonight I gave you my soul, and I am dead!"
"Your soul is a very beautiful thing, child," replied the grave man's voice, "and I thank you. No emperor ever recieved so fair a gift. The angels wept tonight."
Raoul heard nothing after that.
This important scene, deeply layered with romantic and sexual subtext, is completely absent from Phantom. Not only that Kay explicitly says that when Christine returned to her dressing room after her triumph, the voice wasn't there at all. He never congratulates her, never praises her. He's simply. Not. There. For her.
It's not just this that I hate though.
It's the number of times Erik calls her a "stupid child".
Funnily enough, Erik treats Christine with the exact same supercilious condescension that makes me hate Raoul in the musical.
Both Kayrik and Musical Raoul look at Christine and regard her as potentially mentally unstable, unable to trust her own senses or handle reality. To both of them she is a "scared little girl" and will never be anything more. Both of them look at that and say "No matter, let me wife that."
Interesting thing: Leroux Erik only calls Christine "Child" when he is in his guise as the Angel. Never does Erik, as Erik, refer to her that way.
Now I'll pause to say, there is one part of this episode I enjoyed and that is when Christine masturbates to Don Juan Triumphant.
And yet even this I have a problem with.
I've already covered the fact that though Leroux's Christine is innocent, she is not ignorant. She is very aware of the potential sexual danger Erik poses to her when he abducts her (though this, again was not a portion of the book available in English when Kay was writing). Nevertheless I still find it hateful and irritating that Kay's Christine is so ignorant that when Erik's music arouses her, she says she touched herself in a place "I had never known existed."
And the fact that Christine has remained insensible to her sexuality this far into her relationship with Erik is another thing that chaps my hide.
Both Leroux's Christine and Andrew Lloyd Webber's admit to fearing the effect that the Angel of Music and his tutelage have had on her. Leroux's Christine says "I hardly knew myself when I sang. I was even frightened." And Andrew Lloyd Webbers also says "He's with me even now, all around me--it frightens me" and in a short-lived alternative lyric used on the West End "I'm changing, Meg!"
And indeed, Erik's tutelage has changed Christine. Her singing under Erik's influence is not simply that of innocent euphoria. It referred to in deliberately orgasmic terms such as "Ecstasy" and "Rapture". And this so frightens her, because she is aware of what exactly these ecstasies are awakening in her. But Kay's Christine doesn't seem to be undergoing the same change. Instead of Erik's voice awakening her, Kay rather describes him as shrouding her in the fantastic, even shielding her from the very awareness and maturity that Leroux's Erik seems to be drawing out in her. Her final step into adult awareness is Erik revealing himself to her as a man, which seems to be something of a non-event here, not even of importance independent of the Unmasking. To Kay's Christine it simply is, while that simple fact is reacted to by ALW's Christine with undisguised attraction and by Leroux's with indignation.
Further sullying what is otherwise a very engaging (if somewhat short) scene of... self... discovery(?) Is Erik's perspective on the proceedings, an excerpt which prejudiced me against this book long before I undertook to read it:
I dared not think how near I had been to losing control, how terrifyingly easy it would have been in that moment to rape her. I'd raped her with music instead, and perhaps that crime was almost as bad as the one it had so narrowly prevented. Either way I'd violated her trust and destroyed a rare and precious innocence--soiled the delicate ambience that had lain between us all these weeks.
When I first ran afoul of this quote I had still been under the impression that this section of the book would be following Leroux's story and took this to be Kay's interpretation of the moment after the Unmasking when Erik, having lashed out in horrific fashion at Christine for exposing him, retreats to his room to express his anguish through music, and that music actually prevents Christine from taking her own life. In another travesty of censorship, though, the salient details of this moment (Christine's description of Erik's music) is yet another portion of the book Kay would have had no knowledge of or access to, yet is one of the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful pieces of prose ever put to print:
Troubled at the idea of the fate now awaiting me, and terrified of seeing the monster's uncovered face peering from the doorway to the room with the coffin, I had run to my own room and snatched up the scissors that could bring me freedom from this loathsome fate when I heard the sound of the organ.
At that instant I began to comprehend to Erik's strange rejection of what he termed "opera music". What I was now hearing was completely different from the music that had thrilled me up to that point. His "Don Juan Triumphant" (for I had no doubt that he was now losing himself in his Masterpiece to forget the horror of the moment) at first struck me as one long, dreadful, glorious lament into which he was pouring all of his bitter misery.
I visualized the manuscript with the blood red notes and easily imagined that they had been written in blood. His music carried me on a gut-wrenching journey through martyrdom and into the most hidden recesses of the pit which this hideous monster called home; it showed me Erik banging his poor, ugly head against the dreary walls of the hell where he took refuge from those whom he would otherwise frighten. I, listening, gulping for breath, besieged and pathetically broken by the Titanic cords which turned suffering divine: rising from the pit they suddenly rallied into a remarkable, menacing swarms, soaring up to heaven circling ever higher Like an Eagle toward the Sun. Listening to that Triumphant Symphony as it as it set the world of fire, I now understood that the work had achieved its apotheosis, and that the Beast soaring on the wings of love had dared to countenance Beauty.
Yet another iconic moment which Kay saw fit to axe from her work is Christine's visit to her father's grave at Perro-Guirec, where Erik plays for Christine unseen in the snowy graveyard at midnight, and after which Raoul comes face to face with Erik for the first time.
Kay weaves a frankly incoherent and disjointed tale that confounds in the original scenes and rushes through the ones that touch on canon.
But by far the most unforgivable omission
She cut out César, the White Horse from The Profeta.
See I was all set, back in part III to praise Kay's foreshadowing, because CLEARLY she put so much focus on Erik's affinity with his horses, having him tell Giovanni that he has no need to train them--they follow him because they want to, etc CLEARLY that was set-up for him carrying César off to transport Christine. RIGHT?
RIGHT?
RIGHT?
RIGHT?
Wrong.
As lovely as Erik's description of Christine's kiss is, by this point its so overshadowed by a cloud of shit, I couldn't really enjoy it.
Nearly finished now. I can't wait for this to be over...

Part 3 of Idol! Danny
Danny is performing in Metropolis and and guess who decides to join his performance
As always
@farmercale
Tumblr media
Danny is running a last minute run down of the songs and effects for this concert, deciding he has done enough practicing, he starts humming as he puts on his outfit before changing into Phantom.
*Knock**Knock*
“Phantom we’re ready when you are”, comes the soft voice of his manager. “Coming,” he says as his voice has a slightly echoing tone to it, as he moves to the door and phases through it.
“Let’s go, we don’t want to keep my adorable specters waiting now do we,” he tells his manager with a fanged grin spreading across his pale face. “ Did we ever manage to get a hero to agree to perform with me tonight,” he can’t help but ask as they made their way to the podium that will raise him to the stage.
“Well sorta, while we couldn’t get any Adult Heroes their sidekicks had no issue agreeing to a short contract to perform with you, however they asked to be kept a surprise for you. The only hint you get is that we picked 2 heroes and they know the songs they are to sing with you, now go knock ‘em dead Phantom.” His manager told him, before handing him a mic and signaling the podium to begin rising.
*Danny POV*
‘Well no use in arguing, guess I’m just gonna have to wait’ I thought before taking a deep breathe ‘ it’s bond to be fun at any rate’ smiling as the podium rose I could hear the cheers and screams getting louder, crouching down i leaped up as the same time green flames flared across the stage announcing my arrival.
“HELLO METROPOLIS, HOW ARE YOU DOING TONIGHT”, I asked the crowd getting cheers and calls of my name as the answer. “ BOY DO I HAVE TREAT FOR YOU, TONIGHT YOU AN SNEAK PEAK OF NOT 1 BUT 2!! NEW SONGS,” as soon as those words left my mouth the cheers got deafening, grinning i signal for the music to start and then I lost myself to the music.
*TIMESKIP*
It’s been about two hours now and now I’m about to perform one of my new songs, while I’m anxious about who is supposed to sing with me I can’t let that distract me.
“ Thank you for staying with me this long so without further delay here is one of my new songs “ MAKE IT RIGHT”
🎶Make It Right- English Version BTS🎶
Using my core I dim the lights so only I’m visible , looking at the floor, I slowly walked like I was lost in thought before beginning
“YEAH
I was lost, I was tryna find the answer
In the world around me
YEAH, I was going crazy
All day, All Night
You’re the only one
Who understood me”
Looking up I let the stage brighten a little, like it was reflecting my mood, letting a small smile cross my face like I was remembering fond memories
“And all that I was going through
Yeah, I just gotta tell you
Oh, Baby I…
I could make it better
I could hold you tighter
Cause through the morning
Oh, you’re the light”
Floating off the stage I lightly swayed above the crowd, like I was so in love gravity didn’t exist to me anymore , before a horrified expression crossed my face, alarming some of my fans closest to me
“And I almost lost ya
And I can’t forget ya
Cause you’re the reason
I survived…..
You were there for me
Through all the times I cried
I was there for you
Looking depressed I looked around frantically like I was searching for something or someone, before noticing a new aura coming close to, me, looking up with teary eyes I raced to the figure before stopping in front of them and look ashamed to even faced them
“But then I lost my mind
I know that I messed up,
But I promise I….
Ohhh, I can make it right
All right… All right….
Ohhh, I can make it right
All right…. All right….
Ohh, I can make it right”
Hands lightly touch my face, guiding me to look into the eyes of metropolis one and only Superboy, hugging me he started to sing
“I became a hero
In this world
The loud cheers, calling for me
My hand, a trophy
And a cold microphone”
He sang looking at me with a soft look in his eye, taking my hand he slowly guided me to look around as if he was explaining something to me
“All Day, Everywhere
But all of this
Is about reaching you
It’s the answer to my journey
I’m singing to find you”
Letting go of my hand he turned to face me , face excited as he floated around me, before pretending to get serious
“Baby, to you
A little taller than I was before
With a voice a little more solid
All of this, to go back to you
Now I’ll spread wide, a map called you
My REHAB”
Suddenly stopping he turn away from me , a dark look in his eyes as he spat the next words out as if he was pissed at something
“ Look at me
Why can’t you recognize me?
I don’t want to hear other people’s noises
Your fragrance still penetrates,
And breaks me down
Let’s go back to that time…..”
Rushing in front of him I sang the next part like I was trying to convince him that I was sorry to please forgive me
“Baby, I know!!!
I can make it better
I can hold you tighter
All those roads, are pointing to you
Nothing mattered, nothing but you
Just hold me, like that time
Grabbing his hands, I let stardust fill the air around us before we both started to sing
“This eternal night
With no end in sight
It’s you, who gifted me the morning
Now, can I hold that hand?”
Grinning we both started dancing in the air around each other just having fun
“OHHH
I can make it right
All right…. All right…..
Ohhhh
I can make it right….
All right….All right….
Ohhh I can make it right”
Superboy landed on the stage before hold out his arms, and looked up smirking at me. Laughing inside my head I let myself drop into his arms causing the crowd to lose their minds. Still holding me we started to sing the last few verses of the song
“You are still beautiful
Just hold me silently
Like you did that day
The reason I survived in hell
It’s for you, it was not for me
If you know, don’t hesitate
And please save my life
I’m thirsty, wandering this desert
Without you
So hurry up and hold me
I know the sea without you
Is the same as a desert
Leaning on each other, we slowly eased onto the floor back to back, giving each other tired sad looks and smiles
“ All right
I can make it better
I can hold you tighter
Ohh, I can make it right
 Everything was useless…..
Anything other than you
Ohhh, I can make it right
All right….All right…
Ohhh, I can make it right
The arena was dead silent before erupting into a thunderous noise of applause, crying and cheering.
Looking at Superboy I gave a smile before standing up and holding my hand out for him to take. Addressing the crowd, “ LET’S GIVE A GREAT THANKS TO SUPERBOY FOR THAT AMAZING PERFORMANCE, NOW ITS TIME FOR A HOUR Intermission, THE LAST FEW SONGS WILL BE PERFORMED WITH THE LAST ONE BEING THE NEW ONE”

Pretty good answers, happy new year! 🥳 here’s the first questions of 2024! :D
1: since Jake & mar’i are descendants of a feline race, would it make sense to have a fear of dogs or at least the bigger ones?
2: what does the duo do on New Year’s Eve?
3: does the duo do anything special on New Year’s Day or is that day treated like any other day?
4: what’s one secret does the duo have, besides the obvious stuff like secret identities? Like Chris saw Kon scratching his butt and sniffing it & Kon tells Chris don’t tell the others for example.
5: what’s their sense of humor like? Besides the silver age puns they like to do?
6: here’s season 3 of Superman & Lois rewrite: after the battle with Zod, mysterious purple kryptonite came into the world from the phantom zone; which gave regular people powers, Bruno mainhuim, the crime boss of metropolis, mange to grab a hold of it & turn it into a drug (which is X-kryptnite, in the series) & sold it like how normal drugs are sold. A group of bullies at Jons & Chris’s school mange to get some (because of plot lol) & either bully Chris & Jon at school or become a group of small super villains that robs bank & pick on anybody weaker than them. Of course Superman, Nightwing, & superboy stop them, with Chris & Jon doing bullying tatics as a sort of karma & irony like wedgies & diping their heads in puddles of water. The season ends with Bruno being stop and put in jail & all the purple kryptnite being destroyed or lock in the fortress.
And now, about four days after the first day lol, here’s the first answers of 2024 @pin-crusher2000 ;-)
1) While it’s a common thought among many who take note of that genetic lineage, since Jake has Haley aka Bitewing as his canine companion and gets along well enough with both Krypto and Ranger whenever The Kents bring them up, it’s more dependent on how used to the dogs in question Mar’i and Jake are. Basically, like with real cats and dogs living together, it depends on how long they know each other and how used to each other’s company they are.
2) It’s a massive gathering at Titans Tower where both Graysons and Kents visit, along with all the other Titans International, the Batfamily, even some Justice Leaguers and JSA members. The Duo usually stick next to their fellow StarKnights, hanging out in Dick’s own room and talking about their plans for the year ahead of them. Once it comes time for the Big Countdown, every single person there is gathered at the Ops Room to watch. Once Midnight hits, Chris and Jake take the karaoke set and do an impromptu show of their favorite songs for the crowds. The Duo themselves stay up at least until around 2 am since the day after was still in Winter Break for them
3) As for the following New Year’s Day, I can see the Duo take it relatively slow. First after helping with clean up efforts from last night, they’d be at the Grayson apartment, in Jake’s room making a small New Year live stream and play through of some old games, mainly the Pipeworks Godzilla Trilogy (Destroy All Monsters Melee, Save the Earth and Unleashed). They would of course invite Meredith and Thara for the chat. Finally for the night, they’d go on a quick patrol across Bludhaven, taking down any smaller crime activity and pulling over drunk drivers before wrapping it all up and getting rest for tomorrow.
4) I say Chris once confessed to Jake of one time he let a little piglet from the barnyard into his room after it got spooked by a passing thunderstorm despite usually animals not being allowed in besides the dogs. Clark was the only one who found out about it and allowed Chris to keep that pig with him for the night, later making small renovations to the barn so the sounds of thunder would be muffled and not scare animals like said piglet as much anymore.
On a more funny note, Jake in turn tells his best friend one time attempts watching R Rated horror flick on Halloween at Midnight. Like so R Rated and horrifying, even grown adults were reported to faint when it first came out in theaters. Needless to say, Jake shutting down the tv and making a run for his bed all happens within less then five minutes. Just how for once Dick wasn’t able to deduce who put that movie in the dvd player that night is nothing short of astonishing as far as Jake’s concerned.
5) Besides from the intentional puns in the battlefield and the unintentional slapstick they do to themselves, the Duo primarily like the art of riffing and snarking. This especially shows itself when on some nights they hang out, sometimes with some of their friends, they’d watch some old cheesy 1950s-1970s B movies, having a good laugh at the hokey performances, bizarre plots, and just plain bad special effects. It’s a tradition Jake inherited from Dick who would do the same some nights with his own birth father John. For reference of that act, look up Mystery Science Theater 3000 and that’ll clarify things a bit.
6) Ah something simple and yet can involve all three main Supers. Maybe for a subplot that eventually congeals naturally into the main plot has Lois be the first to notice the change in some people on the streets who received their newfound superpowers, putting her journalism skills to use. If anything, elevating her status with in the Daily Planet as a successor to Perry White
I like it A Lot

Moshang + Phantom of the Opera AU! 🌟
It's my bday so I'm indulging myself with a little moshang poto au!
( No Transmigration )
Young demon heir MBJ barely escapes another of his uncle's plots, face burned and covered in ashes. Collapses right in front of SQH who takes him along on his cart full of fabrics and masks for the opera house he works/lives in.
MBJ attaches himself to SQH (a few years older than him), after the teenager puts ointments and bandages on his face, treating him unlike any human has ever done. SQH hides MBJ in his rooms in the opera house, tells him stories he's writing and hoping to perform one day on stage, teaches him about music and art, helps him create a mask for himself. MBJ grows with stories about heroes and foes, damsels and love, adventures greater than himself. And dreams. Of going back home, taking his throne. Of SQH beside him, always.
But SQH loves the opera house even if he's overworked and overlooked.
MBJ eventually heals and goes back to his kingdom, overthrows his uncle with renovated strength.
Years later, grown up and king of his own lands, comes back to SQH, the new star of Cang Qiong Opera House. How did it happen? Sabotage, of course! SQH got tired and just snapped, plotting against anyone who tried to keep him in the shadows once more, giving them concoctions that made their voices weird, until he got cast in one his own plays. An opera he wrote years ago while taking care of a little cute demon. He misses MBJ.
And then, the phantom appears.
MBJ, in a mask of his own creation, following SQH like a shadow, watching, basking in his voice, his performance, the memories of sleeping beside him, of SQH helping him recover, never recoiling in disgust for the scars on his face (in the demon realm is a mark of bravery, respected, but the human realm is different, they get horrified and disgusted at the sight of scarred skin ‐‐even more in a demon–).
He scares SQH the first time he appears in his luxurious rooms (better than the ratty alcove he used to sleep in).
"Dawang?"
He smiles, expecting kisses and a love confession, for SQH to swoon and fall on his arms.
Instead he gets a pinch on his cheek and an angry SQH asking why he left without a word?! "I was worried, dawang!!!!"
It warms his heart, yet he gets more frustrated when SQH treats him the same as his younger self. He used to love that, of course, but he's a grown up demon now.
And a really protective one.
He sees how there are people trying to take SQH's spotlight. It won't do.
He starts wearing his mask (SQH loves caressing his scar, a sign of devotion he can't help but crave more of it everyday), appears everywhere and scares them, dissappears them or –if they truly were to hurt Qinghua– kills them in the most grotesque ways, reappearing on time to enjoy SQH's next performance, loving when he comes down the stage and takes carefully every piece of his costume out but his make-up, in a light robe, long hair down and free of colorful headpieces, bare except for the robe, make-up and jewelry he makes for him, for SQH is his, and only his.
MBJ wants him, only him, and SQH might realize it the more he keeps protecting him and watching his every performance. He's a king yet he serves SQH, his shadow.
People grow uneasy and fearful in the opera house, yet SQH eventually falls into his arms, acknowledging his devotion, their love, a passion no one can mirror.
"Dawang," and SQH kisses his scars, gruesome and weird, a sign of respect and love. And MBJ decides once more he's gonna be his forever.

Another one for the one word prompt (if you wanna): 39. — prescient
Even after Aloy scrubbed herself clean, after Thebes she couldn’t stop feeling a phantom film of ash or sweat or blood. She stood by the food stores in the base and couldn’t move, couldn’t decide where to move. Remember that cleansing, poisoning fire that burnt up what Ted Faro became? The heat of it made the ceremonial clothes (like the Matriarch’s, like the moment of exile) burn against her skin. Remember Ceo’s expression before he died, the ruddiness of his skin?
Ted Faro had been alive. He had been alive the entire time. Aloy flattened her palms against the cool counter. Zo’s herbs hang drying behind it like nothing had changed. Something was very wrong about that.
Soft footsteps interrupted what threatened to become a blank paralysis. Varl padded to the corner of the counter and met her eyes.
The Metal Devil is real, Aloy wanted to say. That Nora name was convenient shorthand, but not accurate at all. Faro himself wasn't the Nora's devil, and Aloy had heard the stories first the night before her Proving. They hadn't been baked into her as a child. She hadn't believed.
Her terror was from the old world, not the Nora. Faro’s life horrified her so much because he had been right. He’d seen a future where he lived, although not in any sense of the word either his or Aloy’s world had known. Ted Faro’s plan had worked. Horrible. He had been in there burning while Aloy’s name had bounced off All-Mother Mountain, while she had explored the ruins under Sunfall, while she had pulled dying words out of HADES, while she had met GAIA for the first time, while she had — everything. Everything.
Whatever Varl saw in her expression, he opened his arms.
Aloy let him hold her. She slumped almost as limp as Beta had been in his arms, nuzzling against the boar fur at his shoulder. It smelled like Rost’s clothes had. She couldn't stand to show her fear as long as Beta did.
(Faro had extended his life and made sure he could kill everyone else with the snap of a finger — )
With the sense of waking up from a nightmare, Aloy steadied herself on Varl’s arm. She was more comfortable with a hunter’s clasp, wrist to wrist, than with the surrender of the embrace.
“What’s wrong?” Varl’s voice was soft.
“Faro was alive. He was still down there, in Thebes. The Quen dug it all up. We thought it was just a ruin. But there was something — he was alive, Varl.”
“There really was a devil down there.” His tone was still soft. Aloy looked down at the armor over his forearm. Maybe on another day or in another year the words would have bit at her. She felt the echo of teeth. But coming from him, now, she knew he had reconciled his feelings about Nora spirituality. And hadn’t he encouraged Sona to break taboo back at the very beginning when the Eclipse oilers were fortifying ruins in Nora territory? Varl had always been both devout and flexible.
Aloy shivered. “A person. And the worst thing about it is that I didn’t know. All that time …”
"How?"
"Machines, medicine. A doctor he threatened unless he treated only him." "Aloy, that's ... horrible. Disgusting."
"I was so ..." She didn't want to say 'scared.'
“You felt ambushed, right? But there was no way for anyone to know.”
And that’s what I hate, she almost said. Except that it sounded too much like Sylens, battering at doors that weren’t his to open. She was trying to be less like him.
Except that Faro might have wanted to make the whole Earth into that kill-switched house if he’d just been conscious enough to do it. All the while Aloy was walking past the wreckage of Corruptors in fields of pink and yellow flowers, Faro was still dreaming of the kind of obsessive control that had lead to those machines destroying the world in the first place, if he had enough mind left to dream. Enough mind yet to see and shape the future.
She took a deep breath. Clutched Varl’s arm again and let go.
“I know,” she said. “Thank you.”
His nod had some hesitation in it. He'd be digesting the knowledge himself. Maybe she'd direct him to Alva. For now, he helped her think of the flowers more than the machines.

October Fic Recs
Here are the fics that I’ve really liked this month. All of these are complete. Enjoy!
Fandoms: Boku no Hero Academia (7), The Sandman (1), The Sandman/Julie and the Phantoms Crossover (1)
Find September’s Recs here.
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: Cat Cafés and Picked Up Strays Author: whatagoodegg Pairing: None Rating: General Word Count: 7,020 Summary: After meeting All Might for the first time, Izuku decides to treat himself by stopping by his favorite cat café. It's the least he can do to soothe the ache the hero's words left on his heart. Unfortunately, some homeless man keeps trying to ask him why he looks like a drowned rat.… Wait- is that Eraserhead?! (cue the dadzawa fluff)
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: Hero Class Civil Warfare Author: RogueDruid (Icarius51) Pairing: None Rating: Teen Word Count: 85,769 Series: Part 1 of Hero Class Villain AU (Words: 219,500 - Works: 3, series still a WIP, last updated in September) Summary: Heroes lead by Bakugo. Villains lead by Midoriya. Seven days prep time. Three days for Izuku Midoriya to show why they should be glad he's not a real villain.
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: a preconceived truth Author: jihnari Pairing: Dabi | Todoroki Touya/Takami Keigo | Hawks Rating: Mature Word Count: 12,623 Summary: Hawks' approach is languid, his expression is easy and open. Even knowing it's fake, Dabi can't see the cracks in the façade. Horrifying, really. "Hey," Hawks greets as he enters the shadow of the alley. He then proceeds to crash against the brick wall at a glacial pace, face smooshed up against the brick and his shoulders and torso slumping to follow. In half surprise, half genuine glee, Dabi cackles. Hawks' arm twitches at his side like maybe he'd flip Dabi off if he had the strength. Dabi's still chuckling when he asks, "How ya feelin', hero?" "Like shit," Hawks grumbles into the wall. "You look it," Dabi assures him, grinning and pulling out his phone. He came all this way; Hawks can afford to wait a minute while Dabi gets a few pictures. Trying to get a ride home from a party, Hawks misdials and gets Dabi. Dabi, thinking it'll be fun to see his "favorite hero" drunk out of his mind, agrees to help Hawks get home. Things get a lot less fun when Dabi realizes Hawks isn't drunk.
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: The Idiot's Guide To Faking Your Own Death Author: whatagoodegg Pairing: Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead/Yamada Hizashi | Present Mic Rating: General Word Count: 21,493 Summary: The story of that one time Eraserhead's students accidentally gaslighted him into thinking he was dead. Or: a man who has been prepared to die since he was seventeen gets hit with a Quirk that makes him "unable to be noticed". It goes poorly, but not as much as one might expect.
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: Don't Arrest Me Or My Son Ever Again Author: lovelysandlonelys Pairing: None Rating: General Word Count: 4,747 Summary: “That kid never gets old,” Sansa said, leaning back in his desk chair. Naomasa started to reorganize the papers on his desk. “Sure,” He replied, “You wouldn’t be saying that if you were the one that had to tackle him once a week, but sure.” Alternatively: That feel when your son keeps getting arrested and you have to get him out of it.
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: walk a mile Author: beeclaws Pairing: None Rating: General Word Count: 5,000 Summary: Hitoshi joins class 1-A and immediately gets hit with a body-swapping quirk, because of course he does.
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia Title: Inheritance  Author: AisforAmy71 Pairing: None Rating: Unrated Word Count: 278,687 Summary: When Inko dies in a trainwreck while protecting Izuku from the impact, Izuku discovers he had a quirk all along. The ability to inherit the quirks of people that die is, to say the least, problematic. It sends Izuku on a much different track that he ever imagined his life taking, but will hopefully end up exactly where he needs to be.
Fandom: The Sandman Title: more sky comes and more days  Author:  Chrome Pairing: Calliope/Dream of the Endless | Morpheus/Hob Gadling Rating: Teen Word Count: 18,537 Summary: In the aftermath of her imprisonment, Calliope is determined to learn to trust humans again, so she finds a roommate and settles in the mortal world. Meanwhile, her former husband has been on another quest that ended in grief, and he seeks her out for solace. What could possibly go wrong? or, “Hey, Zed,” Hob answered. “Something the matter?” “Yes,” she said. “Calliope’s ex showed up and he’s fucking terrifying.”
Fandom: The Sandman/Julie and the Phantoms Crossover Title: Good Dreams, Sweet Prince  Author: breakaway71 Pairing: Dream of the Endless | Morpheus/Hob Gadling Rating: General Word Count: 34,015 Summary: When Dream leaves the Burgess estate, he does so without realizing that more was taken from him during his captivity than he ever knew. As the dust settles and his realm begins to heal, Dream is unprepared for Lucienne to tell him of a ghost in the Dreaming. A ghost tethered to the mortal plane, and who can sleep as no ghost should be able to sleep. Meanwhile, after growing up with adoptive parents who hated each other more than they ever loved him, Reggie has always craved a family who wanted him. He died before he ever had the chance to find his birth father, but then, when has a little thing like death stood in the way of Reggie and his dreams?

null space is majorly wasted in-game, and i’m obsessed with breaking characters into and out of reality and what it does to a person to be rendered Unreal, so i’m expanding the concept because it should be SOOO COOL.
obvious caveats that, where sonics are concerned, this is all flexible — since null space involves your muse as much as mine.  i’ve separated the below into two parts; part one is basic stuff that’s probably generally applicable and which focuses more on ava, leaving space for sonic’s experience to be a bit different; part two’s got some more specific (  and traumatizing!  ) thoughts that i’ll treat as non-canon when writing with sonics unless the aforementioned sonic seems game.
general stuff —
when sonic and ava were pulled into null space, they were separated; torn from one another.  ava knew that she had to find sonic before anything else, and set off to do so.  on some level, she sensed that double boost might be enough to get them out, but at her base, she just — didn’t want to be alone.
the experience of being in null space was — disconcerting, in the extreme.  they quite literally did not exist for that period, and the feeling of ‘i am not real’ was deeply, deeply sick and horrifying.  the longer she spent in there, the more she struggled to maintain a sense of identity; her self broke down.  body coming undone.  they just kept repeating in their head, find sonic.  find sonic.
it took longer than it did in canon.  a few hours, probably.  but nothing exists in null space, including time — to ava, it feels at once like hours and days.  weeks.  you can imagine how that fucks with your perception of reality.
once sonic and ava reunited, it still took them some time and a few tries to escape.  ava was giving up hope they’d ever get out, but sonic kept their spirits up — “everyone is waiting for us!”
assuming we’re going with my personal canon of forces taking longer than it does in game, ava takes a week off missions directly after, and honestly should have taken off longer.  they were incredibly shaky and constantly hallucinating for days after, sure sure sure this wasn’t real — again, it fucked with their perception of reality badly.  I DON’T EXIST I NEVER GOT OUT THIS ISN’T REAL.
outside of that canon, where the next mission happens almost immediately after, ava’s notably shaky and unsettled throughout it.  off their a game.
either way, it contributes to their willingness to throw themselves into the sun and (  as far as they know  ) die to save the others — they only sorta halfway feel like they exist anyway, so, like, what’s the harm in dying?
specific stuff —
null space doesn’t exist, but it wants to.  or, at least, that’s how it felt to ava.  maybe it doesn’t want anything.  maybe it’s simply the nature of nothing, to try to fill the space of whatever it’s poured into.  there was nothing in null space, and now there is.  there is ava, and ava’s memories and terrors.  it fills the space inside her chest.
similarly to the phantom ruby copies, but more advanced and more erratic, there were — visions, memories, monsters.  ava experienced infinite’s killing of their town again and again as they struggled to find sonic, as well as memories of when infinite trounced them in metropolis.  eventually, they did find him, but — not.  null space filled the space of ava’s fear of her own uselessness next to sonic, her fear that he’d come to hate her, and created an illusion of sonic.  it acted warmly at first, but soon devolved into a monster that attacked her.  ava destroyed it, once there was no other choice.  she knew it wasn’t sonic, knew sonic would never do that, but it —— it was still difficult and frightening, to kill something that looks like your best and only friend.  let alone while that friend calls you a useless nothing, so much anxiety and doubt —
they found the real sonic not long after and never mentioned it to him.  they’re not sure why.  or maybe they’re just trying not to think about why.
null space doesn’t exist, and neither does anything in it.  anyone.  while sonic and ava were in null space, others forgot about them, at least mostly — or, can you forget about something that isn’t real?  it wasn’t until they escaped that the others remembered them fully.

the only ghost in Amity Park
Continuation of Half Of
______________________________________________
Only in Amity Park did the revelation that a local teenager was sorta, kinda a ghost just blow over in a few days. Sure, people still stared at Danny Fenton as he walked by and everyone was still wondering what exactly he was, but overall life had moved on. Star sighed to herself as she organized her notebooks, waiting for class to begin. Just another day.
Star herself really didn’t want to get involved in whatever was going on with Danny. She didn’t like him before he was a celebrity and didn’t plan on starting anytime soon. While Paulina still relentlessly, and vainly, pumped him for information on her dead boy crush, Phantom and he and Dash formed some weird macho bond or whatever, Star avoided him. He’d given her the chills since the day he’d walked into Casper High. When Danny’s secret had been exposed mid-attack, Star hadn’t been surprised. She didn’t need some ghost to tell her that there was something deeply, unsettlingly wrong with Danny Fenton.
Danny didn’t seem particular bothered, by his inhuman nature or by suddenly having his secret exposed. If anything, the nerd looked more relaxed than ever. Star had been watching him, they all had, but Fenton kept his ghostly antics to a minimum when in public. The occasional flash of green eyes when emotional, a grin of sharpened teeth. He made Mikey’s locker lock intangible the other day when the kid had forgotten his combination and he floated down the stairs instead of walking sometimes. It had been a week and it was  frightening how quickly such strangeness had become almost normal.
“Alright kids, phones and notes away we’re starting class with a pop quiz. Hope you’ve all kept up with your weekly readings,” Faluca announced cheerily. The whole class, including Fenton, moaned and packed up their bags. Star supposed being an undead being haunting his own life didn’t make him immune from normal human problems. She was biting her lip trying to remember which antibody caused allergic reactions when she got an uneasy feeling. She looked up and was not surprised to see Danny Fenton looking around too. It had been a solid week without ghost attacks, looks like Fenton’s supposed vacation time was up.
Star stopped her writing and adjusted the bag at her feet to prep for evacuation. She briefly wondered what Fenton would do, what he could do? Did he also hunt ghosts, like his parents? Like Phantom? There were no blasts, no screams, no monologues but the dread increased when a ghost shield descended over them. Actually, it looked like it was just covering their classroom. Now everyone was looking up from their quizzes and out the window at the flickering, green shield.
“You’d think the administration would’ve warned me we were going to do a drill,” Faluca said but his voice was hesitant. Clearly this wasn’t planned so despite the lack of alarms, there was a good chance this was real. “Pencils down for the moment while I figure out what’s going on.”
“Mr. Faluca, I need to go,” Danny said, raising his hand. Star was so used to hearing the request she almost ignored him but the dread curling in her stomach made her look again. His face was pinched, sharp and his eyes burned with an icy fury like a sudden storm blowing in without warning.
“Mr. Fenton, I don’t think...” Faluca murmured uneasily. Danny frowned harder.
“It wasn’t a request, actually,” Danny said roughly as he stood up and began walking towards the door. He was almost there when the door slammed open and Fenton had no less than 3 ectoweapons pointed in his face. A few kids jumped back in alarm but Danny held his ground as half a dozen Guys in White agents entered the room and surrounded him.
“Spectral scum formerly known as Daniel Fenton, you’re coming with us,” one of the agents said.
“Danny not Daniel and it’s still my name,” Danny quipped, eyeing each of the government officials and their weapons. “And no, I’m not. I’m still alive, somewhat anyway, so I have rights. The courts backed me up.”
“Everyone who signed for your freedom doesn’t know ghosts like we do,” Another agent said so forcefully, some spittle flew out of their mouth and hit Danny’s cheek. Star watched it freeze and fall away the instant it hit his skin. “Your kind are too dangerous to wander around, you need to be contained and eliminated. Don’t worry, your parents will receive a sizable check as recompense.”
“I’m the one who needs to be contained?” Danny said slowly, evenly but there was a static to his voice that caused the hairs on the back of Star’s neck to rise. When she breathed out, she saw her breath was misting. Everyone’s was as the room temperature continued to plummet. “When you come in here and take hostages to threaten me?” Danny hissed, he took a step forward and his eyes took on a neon green glow. “You didn’t come to my home or on the streets, you came to take me in the middle of biology when I’m surrounded by civilians, kids.”
“You delude yourself into thinking you’re still human,” another agent scoffed. “Everyone knows ghosts are weaker when giving into their obsession.” Danny laughed, it was loud and mocking and like fingernails running down a chalkboard. Faluca, stuck in between Danny and the agents, was white as a sheet and gripping his desk like it was the only thing keeping him from collapsing.
“You know nothing,” Danny hissed, his voice barely recognizable as human. His hair and shirt floated in an invisible but angry breeze. Frost crawled up his arms and his face. Various ecto alarms were ringing on the belts of the agents and they started to look a bit nervous. He looked nothing like the kid who, minutes before, had clearly been struggling with their bio quiz. “You have no idea what you’re dealing with. You cannot come into my haunt and threaten my people to get to me. Protecting what is mine will always make me stronger!”
“This whole town is constantly under attack because of things like you!” One particularly brave agent said even as a few others had backed up. “Amity Park is on the verge of collapse because of all the ghosts!”
“There is only one ghost in Amity Park,” Danny said, he tilted his head, his black and white hair dangling in his face as he gave a sharpened smile. “There is only me and the ghosts I allow, ghosts who know the rules, who respect my authority here by keeping damage to people and property down. I am the only ghost haunting this town and why do you think that is?” One agent threw down his gun and ran through the open door.
“You’re-you’re a monster!” Another woman shouted, shaking as she stepped back before fleeing.
“I’m not the one who needs to threaten innocents to get to their target,” Danny sneered. “It’s a good thing you did though, I wouldn’t hold back if I wasn’t worried about collateral.” Another three agents turned tail and ran. Until there was only one left. His gun was still trained on Danny but his hands were shaking.
“You don’t scare us,” the agent trembled through the obvious lie having been abandoned by his comrades. “We’ll get you monster, if it’s the last thing we do.”
“Looking forward to it,” Danny drawled sarcastically as some of his horrifying aura dissipated along with the freezing grip on the room. Within moments Danny has settled back into more human form. While he’d been angry before, now he looked almost bored. At no point had he seemed afraid.
“You take your people and your equipment and you leave Amity’s borders by sunset tonight,” Danny declared resolutely. “If you have continued problems with my existence, you take it up with the courts. We settle this as humans but if you treat me as a ghost then I will fight back like one.” His eyes turned green again as a threat. As a promise.
“I don’t take orders from spooks!” The agent shouted, securing his finger on the trigger and preparing to fire. Star had ducked to avoid the blast so she missed exactly what happened. All she saw was the green glow and heard a strangled scream from the agent followed by a series of thumps. By the time Star had gotten back into her seat, Danny was aggressively pulling apart the ectogun with his bare hands. There was no sign of the agent and, around them, the ghost shield fizzled away.
“Jerks,” Danny grumbled, kicking at the remains of the ectogun he’d destroyed. “Sorry about that, Mr. Faluca. I knew they’d cause problems but I didn’t think they’d come to school.” Their teacher stared at Danny like a rabbit facing down a lion. “You okay?”
“Fine, Mr. Fenton, just fine!” Falcua grinned in a high pitched voice. “Shall we get back to our quizzes?” The bell rang just then and Danny did a little fist pump.
“Tomorrow then? After I get a chance to study more?” Danny asked with puppy dog eyes. It looked wrong on his face that had just threatened the government with bodily harm. Faluca just nodded dumbly, not sure what else to say. “Yes! I’ll pass tomorrow for sure. The attention kinda sucks but it does come with some perks.”
He walked back to his desk, ignoring the wide-eyed looks of the class when he stopped and gasped, his breath fogging in front of him. His lips pursed again with annoyance. A few people jumped in surprise as the Box Ghost, a familiar annoyance, poked his head through the wall.
“Child! Your requested reprieve is up and the Box Ghost is here to cause insurmountable square shenanigans!” He laughed heartily, stopping when the room temperature dropped again. Danny didn’t even turn to face the ghost.
“Your watch is off, Boxy. I have another 10 hours before I have to deal with you annoyances again,” Danny growled. “I’m feeling good right now, take advantage of it and leave in one piece.”
“Uh right okay then,” the ghost stammered, sinking back into the wall. “See you tomorrow.” Danny cracked his neck before he walked to his desk, grabbed his things and walked to the front of the room.
“Late bell’s gonna ring any minute, you guys should hurry if you don’t wanna be late,” Danny said as he left. Falcua’s strength gave out as soon as Fenton was gone and he hit the floor, one hand clutching at his chest.
“Jeepers,” Mikey surmised appropriately before stuffing his things in his bag and leaving as well. Star watched everyone loosen up themselves and begin gathering their things to leave. No, she would never like Danny Fenton but he and his ghost weirdness was just part of the deal now, whether they wanted it or not. Such was life in the most haunted city in America which was only haunted by a single ghostly entity.

Star cried as she was stuck with a needle. The feeling of ectoplasm burning through her veins. Agent Z looked so happy as he pulled the needle back out, bidding her farewell.
She felt so sick, she didn’t know how much longer she’d be able to last for. She didn’t want to die, but she wished more than anything that this would all be over soon.
Star’s ghost ripped itself from her body as she screamed, shining brighter than any of the stars she could see in Amity Park’s night sky. She remembered what Agent Z’s face looked like as she picked him up and started throwing him around inside her room. The memory forever seared into her mind.
Then suddenly, she was falling. She had just died and yet she was still in so much pain. What would it take for this to all be over?
It wasn’t until Phantom showed up. A month after she had been taken, after so many of her friends and classmates had been taken. As soon as Danny Fenton showed up, Phantom wasn’t far behind.
When Phantom came up to her after everything was done, she could see everything. He wasn’t just a ghost feeding his obsession. He was just a kid protecting a whole town of people who didn’t like him. Both halves of him.
Her eyes filled with tears and she wept.

It's been quiet ever since Phantom discovered the secret GIW facility.
All the ghosts who would attack Amity Park on the regular haven't shown up in over a month. They were horrified by the actions of the ghost hunters that claimed to be doing this for the good of their fellow humans. While the ghosts loved causing mayhem and destruction, they’d never stoop to that level. They knew what it was like to die.
So when those kids died as they were being experimented on, they all agreed to give them time to adjust and process the trauma they had been through.
Star almost wished that everything was just the same as before she had died though.
Not only were the ghosts treating them like they were helpless even though they were on equal footing now, but all of the humans that recognized the teenagers from when they were alive were acting like they were walking on eggshells. They weren’t sure what to make of them.
Sure, the ghosts had stopped attacking and none of the kids who died had made a move yet, but it was as if they were expected to start attacking at the drop of a pin. That they were supposed to be monsters now.
She didn’t know what they were supposed to do.
Star stared out across Amity Park from where she sat on top of a tall building. She heard a rustle to her left and when she turned Phantom was sitting next to her.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
They sat there, a pause of silence. Phantom swung his legs over the side of the building.
“So… How’s it going?”
Star gave him a look. Phantom held his hands up in a placating motion.
“I’m just wondering. You haven’t come to any of the after school meetings that me and Lancer set up. We just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. Paulina too.”
Star curled further into herself at the mention of her best friend. “I shouldn’t be anywhere near the school. I’m a monster now.”
Phantom scoffed. “Are you kidding? You’re the most human looking ghost I’ve ever met. Except for your stardust though.” He gestured at the sparkly dust that was constantly falling off of her.
“I’m a ghost.”
“Yeah?” Phantom said, raising an eyebrow. “What’s that got to do with anything?”
“I killed a man.” She snapped back at him.
He sighed. “I know. And I know you feel awful. But that man. He was an awful man. You were doing what you had to to protect yourself. No one is holding that against you.”
“I had already died. What else was there to protect anymore?”
“Look.” Phantom said. “Whether or not you’re a ghost or human doesn't decide how good or bad you are. Protecting yourself as a ghost is just as important as protecting yourself as a human. It doesn’t matter what you were when there were people doing awful things to you.”
Star’s eyes welled up with tears. “But everybody looks at me like I’m a monster.” She hid her face behind her knees. “My parents looked like they didn’t even recognize me. They mourned the fact that I died but it was like they didn’t really think it was still me here with them.”
Phantom rested his hand on her shoulder and she turned to look at him.
“How do you do it?”
He had a quizzical look on his face. “Do what?”
“Live with the fact that everyone thinks you're some evil ghost that’s manipulating the whole town. Especially your parents.”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “I don’t know.” He looked up at the sky. “I guess it helps that no one knows it’s me. They just think I’m some random ghost that came out of the zone.”
He sighed. “I’ve seen timelines where my parents accept me for who I am, but I’ve also seen timelines where they don’t. It makes it hard because I don’t really know how things are going to go, but I want to have faith that my parents' love for me is stronger than their hatred for ghosts.”
“What if it’s not though? What if my parents always hate what I’ve become?”
“They just need time to grapple with your death. The whole town does.” He looked back at Star. “I don’t think any of the townsfolk really thought about how the whole ghost thing meant that the ghosts had to die. It’s a lot to take in.”
“I guess.” Star looked up at the sky and they sat there in silence for a bit.
Then Phantom was standing up. “Well, I gotta run. I have to go home and do my homework.” He groaned. Phantom turned to go, but before he flew around he turned his head to look back at Star. “And think about coming to those after school meetings. Everyone really wants to see you.”
“I’ll think about it.” Star whispered.
Phantom smiled and waved. “See you!” He shot into the sky.
“See you.”

Star stood outside of room 202. Her legs felt like jelly but she needed to do this.
She took a deep breath, turned the door handle, and pushed the door open.
Inside the room she saw Mikey, Dale, Sarah, Dash. A lot of the underclassmen were there too but she didn’t know many of their names. Lancer and Phantom were in the corner having a hushed conversation with Sam. The kids around them were goofing off though, showing displays of their new ghost powers.
Star balled her hands into fists. They weren’t supposed to have ghost powers. They were only like this because of what those terrible men did to them. This was too much. She didn’t know if she would be able to-
“Star!”
The panicked thoughts racing through Star’s head stopped. Her eyes focused back in and they darted to Paulina who was running up to her.
Paulina almost bowled her over with a big hug, sending a big puff of stardust flying.
“Where have you been? I’ve missed you so much! Everyone’s been wondering when you were going to come!”
Star smiled softly and wrapped her arms around Paulina. “Heh… Sorry. I was dealing with stuff.”
Paulina pulled away, her hands still resting on Stars shoulders, and she looked down at herself. “And what is this? Is it glitter? It looks really pretty!”
Star chuckled. “Phantom calls it my stardust.”
“Ohhh.” Paulina said. “That’s a very good description for it actually.” Paulina let go of Star’s shoulder and she grabbed onto one of her hands. “Now come on. Everyone wants to know how you’re doing.”
Paulina dragged her over to the group of kids, all who gave her a very warm greeting. When Dash walked up to her she was engulfed in a bear hug. When he set her down she looked past him and made eye contact with Phantom. He smiled at her.
It would take some time for the town to come to terms with what happened, but Star had people who understood her and who were there to support her.
Maybe that would be enough for now.
