Characterization & Relationships (Ep1)
Since we (finally!) have a reasonable look at each of the characters in ep1, I thought I'd try to sort out what's driving them and where the majority of their conflicts will stem from.
Up first:
Ray
What a disaster. The promotional material has done an excellent job of catering to the facet of Ray's personality that he would like others to see: rich, popular, suave, sexy...essentially someone whose got it all put together. But the Only Friends PR is as much a guise as this "rich Ray" personality. In actuality, he's drunk for 99% of the episode, he's sassy, and he's pitifully jealous of Top's relationship with Mew. I'd also wager that his apparent alcoholism extends beyond a "college kid who likes to party too much." Whether or not this becomes a major talking point in the series remains to be seen; not to get into theorizing territory too much, but I suspect part of Ray’s conflict with Sand will be that Sand exposes Ray’s flaws a lot (namely, just how much attention he needs). We already saw that a bit with episode one. But hopefully in drawing out this trait, Ray will change for the better.
All in all, it's clear that Ray is drowning. I think what Ray wants most is company. He might delude himself into thinking he only wants someone of a certain "caliber," given his own wealth and supposed status, but as Khao said, he's someone who needs love. (I also have thoughts on why Ray would have a crush on Mew in particular that might be best-suited for a different post, which—if you’re interested—you can find here!)
I have to admit too that I was honestly expecting to hate Ray, especially in episode one. He was certainly arrogant (for example: automatically assuming that Sand must have slept with him when he was drunk). But all in all, my thoughts on Ray were a mixture of pity and humor. Whereas Boston is shameless in his pursuit of Top (screwing over Mew in the process), Ray spends the episode chaotically pining after Mew, squabbling with Sand, and puking on floors.
Tumblr media
^I do know that I want to protect him from whatever it is that's making him sob like this (unless, of course, it's his own asshole-ish behavior towards Sand, in which case it's probably deserved).
*Side Note: I'm wondering at what point Ray's friend group will make mention of his bad drinking habits as a sign of some greater mental issues...I'd expect Mew to bring it up at greater length soon, but maybe he thinks Ray will get defensive. Food for thought.
Sand
Oh Sand. Starting beef in the bathroom right off the bat (pun intended). He’s headstrong and—as I assume is the point—seems to have his life together where Ray does not. He also alludes to his unfortunate financial situation and seems to dislike Ray immediately because of it (perhaps without meaning to).
Tumblr media
Sand’s conflict, as far as I can tell, is all physical—financial. But Ray’s is inside. I’d argue that Sand realizes that on some level. I think he’s fascinated by Ray. Once he gets over his annoyance, there’s a hint of curiosity there, maybe even pity.
From Sand’s standpoint, it’s easy to get mad at people like Ray. But we see he’s also forgiving (he states that he doesn’t like to hold grudges), sincere, and helpful. Rather than let Ray attempt to drive home alone (or fall asleep in the bar parking lot), he takes him back to his place, pats his back while he vomits in the toilet, gives him a place to sleep on the couch with new clothes, etc. So really what I’m saying is that Sand is the perfect boyfriend.
At least as far as Ray and Sand are concerned—I’m ready to fight for either one of them. They’re different enough that I think their dynamic will be one to progress slower than the other couples, but in a very meaningful way.
Top
In my opinion, Top is the most difficult character to read. As opposed to Ray's chaotic arrogance, his is dripping with composure. He gives an air of maturity that the other characters lack, and it's the perfect cover for his supposedly dishonest sleeping habits. I think the opening verse in "Let's Try" speaks to him well--he doesn't seek out other men for love. I don't think he's fully committed to being in a relationship with Mew at this point, but his curiosity has been piqued enough to give it a chance. To put it bluntly: he's challenging himself to see just how long it takes to get into Mew's pants. (Part of that challenge might have to do with Boston, to prove that he can make Mew more than a one night stand.)
Tumblr media
I wonder if Top gets frustrated by his lack of (physical) intimacy with Mew and that's what drives him back to Boston. He rejected Boston pretty hard in ep1, but I'm curious to know how long that will last. I'd say the earlier the better when it comes to salvaging Top and Mew's relationship.
I'm not sure what I was expecting from TopMew's relationship to start with, but it's taking off at a relatively fast pace status-wise. By the end of the first episode we have Top asking Mew to be his boyfriend, which will surely stir up drama and will likely send both Ray and Boston stumbling into Sand and Nick's arms.
Mew
Mew has been regarded in the fandom as a bit more than he seems. But besides the end-credits clip of him sitting alone, I'm not getting any mysteriousness (yet) from his character. From his interactions, we can tell he has strong values, an intuitive mind, and a distinct sense of self. He knows who he is. (Again, I think these traits connect directly to why Ray is so interested in him.)
I see Mew and Namchueam as the anchors of the friend group. While Ray and Boston are chaotic and self-centered, these two are both looking out for everyone. I also have to admire Mew's conviction when saying no to Top--he isn't going to cave and have a one night stand with a hot, popular guy just because his friends tell him to.
Tumblr media
All of these attributes point to one hell of a revenge plot when Top inevitably wrongs him. But despite how reserved and composed Mew seems now, I wonder if that will be what pushes him over the edge and scares away his "nice boy" persona. Mew's composure now could lead him to have the biggest spiral later.
Boston
To put it bluntly: Boston is exactly the kind of playboy dick-face I thought he would be. Neo plays him perfectly. He's arrogant, confident, self-centered, and attention-seeking.
Tumblr media
If Top is "the top of the top" (again, pun intended) as far as FWBs go, then Boston can't stand the thought of Top settling for someone he views as lesser-than. Boston's inflated ego is like a blinding light in this episode. While Ray is jealous of Mew and clearly wants to drive Mew away from Top, Boston evidently has no problem directly sabotaging the relationship. The last scene between Boston and Top in the bathroom is proof--if Top had initiated anything, Boston would have had no problem sleeping with him and talking to Mew later as if nothing had happened.
Nick
Nick seems to be unfortunate collateral in Boston's egotistical destruction. At the moment, it’s a beneficial relationship for both of them. There's a spark between them, plus Boston needs another buddy to keep his mind off of his failing pursuits with Top. We haven't seen much of Nick yet besides his *ahem* blatant interest in Boston, so I can't say much beyond that. But from what we saw of his character in the tech store, he seems a little absent-minded, helpful, and generally friendly. I'm interested to see what more of him we will see.
Namchueam
Maybe it's because we haven't seen much of her background yet, but she seems to be the most put-together out of the friend group (with the exception of maybe Mew, but he has his own problems too). It's clear she looks out for her friends and wants what's best for them. Seeing her hyping Mew up about Top was endearing, because it's clear she truly wants him to be happy and live on the edge a little more. I want to know how she's going to get wrapped up in all this mess.
Tumblr media
~ X ~
Ok, that's my basic analysis of the characters and core relationships from Ep1. I think everything is developing at a quick pace with a lot of drama already in the works. Excited to see where it goes from here and what everybody else's thoughts are on this mess/+ of a plot, lol.
P.S. me after every new episode of OF:

A love letter to Bughead shippers!
*Warning: this is very very long, so only continue reading if you have time to spare 😜
I haven’t been part of the Bughead fandom since the beginning of 2019. I watched the show in chronological order until the end of season 3, then binged season 4 during covid lockdowns, but refused to continue with season 5 onwards. But over the past few years, I have kept up with spoilers and watched s5-7 episodes sporadically. I just couldn’t take the show seriously when they had Betty cheat on Jughead, then do a random time jump and turn the show supernatural. It was jarring!
I still remember the first time I started shipping Bughead. Let’s start from the beginning:
I had seen ads for Riverdale about a week before it aired, and decided to give it a watch purely because I am such a sucker for murder mystery style shows. That was the catalyst. I also have a tendency to invest in CW shows because of how heavily they push shipping, and romance is another genre that I cannot get enough of. I remember watching the pilot episode and thinking this whole Betty & Archie storyline is just NOT compelling nor did I feel the actors and their characters had any romantic chemistry. It just felt forced and awkward, especially watching Betty get rejected. I thought she was way too good for him, and if he couldn’t see that in all the years they were friends, then he ain’t the right guy for her. But some part of me just expected them to be the main love story of the show because that’s such a predictable trope in teen dramas. So even though I didn’t feel any part of my shipping senses tingling, I decided to continue with the show for the mystery part, and accepted that the romance would just not play a factor in my interest. But boy was I wrong! The following week, I watched episode 2, and the show just felt different. Jughead was featured more heavily and finally shared the screen with Betty, even though no dialogue was exchanged. But I remember thinking to myself, “Jughead and Betty would be so cute together”. During the week after episode 2 aired, I remember their season 1 kiss from episode 8 leaked online: the one outside FP’s trailer. I saw that one scene on Twitter and was instantly a Bughead shipper. I couldn’t believe that I got my wish and Betty and Jughead were going to have a romance. Riverdale went from “a show I’ll watch when I can be bothered to a must watch show that I will not dare miss an episode of”. Episode 3 started getting promoted online a lot, and Betty and Jughead were shown to interact in the trailer; I was hooked. I couldn’t wait for the next episode! It became an obsession. I even joined tumblr and met so many amazing fellow Bughead shippers. It was such an exciting time, waiting every week for a new episode to drop to finally see them get to that ep8 kiss, which I foolishly believed was going to be their first kiss. But episode 6 threw us all a curveball and had Jughead kiss Betty and call her Juliet in the same scene. I literally had butterflies. I hadn't felt that strongly about a ship in so long!
I was a big part of the early Bughead tumblr days. We were a force to be reckoned with. Each episode, our fanbase grew bigger to the point where we were the most popular ship out of every show airing at the time.
But as much as I wanted Bughead to be endgame, there was always this part of me that worried she’d inevitably get with Archie because that was so clearly what RAS shipped in the comics. I do believe Bughead lasted as long as they did because of how big and strong their fanbase was. Also, the real life romance between Cole and Lili always played a huge role in their onscreen coupling, too. That doesn’t diminish how beautiful their love story was in the show. But unfortunately, I think it is the truth. I have seen it so many times in teen drama shows. The head writers always seem to ship the pilot episode ship: Dawson and Joey, Stefan and Elena, Lucas and Peyton etc. I’m using examples of previous teen love triangles.
As much as RAS loved Bughead, and wrote them such beautiful content, he always had one foot pedalling on B*rchie. It was inevitable that at some point they’d want to explore them, especially because they had placed little clues all throughout the first few seasons. But as long as Cole and Lili were together, the show was never going to be daring enough to go full steam ahead with B*archie. Bughead was too popular and so was the real life romance. It would have caused riots. But alas, like every CW actors who date, they broke up. And what happened? They were kept apart for the remainder of the show. It was Delena all over again :(
Whether the rumours are true about the two not being able to work together, only they truly know. But I think it’s a mix of a lot of things, including new writers who were clearly all for the other ship, or in this case, the other shit. I don’t want to insult anyone, but the Riverdale writers are some of the most incompetent writers in the industry. Their inability to maintain continuity, and all the contradictions and character assassinations they created, we had no hope in s5-7. It became a whole new show. It simply lost its spark, which was already quite dim after how they handled the cheating arc in season 4. There was a huge tonal shift, and our favourite characters acted OOC.
So here’s what I really want to say:
I officially stopped watching Riverdale when they decided to jump the gun and have Betty cheat on Jughead with Archie. If you’re a Bughead shipper, it’s completely justifiable to be disappointed and sad about the way Riverdale ended. It’s like when people talk about that one person who got away, that’s how Bughead is to us: it’s the ship that got away, and never came back. To be fair, the show was no longer what it started out as. When you start off as a teen drama show promoting thriller/mystery as your main genre, only to shift gears in later seasons and become supernatural and sci-fi, there’s really only one way to explain the show in a cohesive and logical manner: it’s either all inside one of the character’s imaginations or it’s a multiverse with totally new characters who are the doppelgänger/counterparts of the original characters we knew in the beginning. So it no longer really counts. I don’t think we will ever get any definitive answers and closure from RAS nor the cast about why Bughead was completely abandoned after they broke up on the show, but I’m going to give you my take on how I think the last episode played out. Take it as you want, but I am a budding writer myself, and from a writer’s point of view, this is my theory on what really happened to Bughead in the end…
Consider the show a multiverse at this point. Remember that line Jughead said to Betty in 4x17? “in what future are we not together?”
It’s the same episode she cheats on Jughead. My theory is that the show shifted into another universe/timeline (whatever you want to call it) to show us the versions of Betty and Jughead that don’t have a future together. By her kissing Archie, she irrevocably changes the course of her relationship with Jughead. So that’s what we are shown, a new world where Betty kisses Archie and she and Jughead split and don’t end up back together again. And what is this new world? It’s really dark!
Bughead had been referred to as Romeo & Juliet, soul mates and endgame in the earlier seasons. That’s exactly what they are. But what are Romeo and Juliet referred to? Star-crossed lovers. No matter what, they could never be together. But I’ll get back to that later on.
In my opinion, there are 3 universes shown to us in the show’s run:
1 is the prime universe and original timeline in which Bughead are together and endgame. No cheating takes place. They are still in high school and will continue to date after it and make it work. But we’ll never get to see it unfold because from the end of s4 onwards we are in the other universes.
The second universe is the one where she ends up with Archie — Rivervale or Riverdale 2, but they all die in the end when the comet wipes them out of existence 👀
And the third universe is Riverdale 3.
Seasons 1-4 are set in the prime Riverdale universe.
Then season 5-6 are set in the second universe— Rivervale/Riverdale 2. My opinion is that even after 6x05, they never really left rivervale. Bunker Jughead just wrote it differently and called it Riverdale.
Then season 7 is set in the Riverdale 3 universe.
The Rivervale universe has all the magic and supernatural elements to it, which technically began in s5 with Cheryl performing magic. Rivervale is the darkest universe and timeline of the 3. Riverdale 3 universe is the most tame and fun of all the 3 universes. It’s the one where the characters behave like actual teens and don’t have serial killer fathers, cults, gargoyle kings and evil warlocks tormenting them. Riverdale 1 universe is the most realistic and grounded of the lot, albeit some weird storylines did occur during seasons 3 and 4, but it’s the universe that has both light and dark inside it like real life. Tabitha confirmed there is a multiverse in 7x19 when she said she couldn’t untangle “all” the timelines and instead made them into a single one. But even though she gave them back their memories, these versions existing in the 50s/Riverdale 3 universe are really not the original characters. This theory is proven by how a lot of dead characters are alive in this universe and how Tabitha has another version of herself living in this one.
The one single timeline she is talking about is that she gave them all the memories from every universe so they can live their lives with the knowledge of their other selves. Especially when having to navigate the 50s. They are variants (Loki reference) of the originals who now have the same memories (not all the memories) but haven’t actually lived the same lives. That’s why none of them aged and are still teens in high school; it’s also why they no longer have super powers and magical abilities. Same memories, but different bodies and souls.
So going back to endgame talk: in Riverdale 3, the universe which all of season 7 takes place in, including the final, Betty and Jughead weren’t technically endgame, but they were treated as star-crossed, just like Romeo & Juliet. They couldn’t be together because all of their memories from every other universe/timeline they existed in were now a part of them and it was too convoluted of a situation to actually make sense of in their heads, so they just all dated one another. In this new Riverdale 3 universe, Betty has feelings for both Archie and Jughead because she has the memories of both universe 1 and universe 2 Betty inside her, so she can never really choose between them. Instead, she chooses herself.
Jughead never marries because the girl he has always loved in every universe didn’t want to get married, so he didn’t want to settle for just anyone. Archie moved on because Betty was never the love of his life in all 3 universes.
Ask yourself this, why did Betty tell Reggie that she remembered what being with Jughead felt like, and that’s why she chose to be a part of the quad? Why didn’t she feel this way about Jughead in s6 (Rivervale/Riverdale 2 universe)? Wasn’t it strange that she just seemed to forget she was ever with him? It’s because it was a different timeline/universe, one in which Betty only loves Archie. That is why Jughead has that moment in season 6 episode 14 with that flashback montage of him and Betty, it’s him remembering their relationship from universe 1, something he isn’t really aware of in the Rivervale/Riverdale 2 timeline. The reason for them not remembering is because Bunker Jughead from Rivervale has written them to forget their past together. My theory for why he did that, is after the bomb went off in 6x05, part of the deal was that bunker Jughead make Betty forget being with him completely just like she had to forget that he sacrificed himself to save the universes. He retconned their story so she could move on and he could continue writing away from her with no distractions. Rivervale’s Bunker Jughead loves Betty, as confirmed by Ethel. Which brings me to the final part of this theory…
I think bunker Jughead is the same Jughead that appears to Betty in the final episode as her guardian Angel. He’s OG Jughead and has been writing an anthology all along. There is a reason the show is so heavily focused on Betty. She is the main character in Jughead’s story! In S1-4 he is chronicling his love story with Betty, kind of like an autobiography or diary of them and how they’re an investigative duo. In S5-6 he ventures into writing sci-fi and supernatural stories. Finishing up in s7 with historical fiction.
The angel Jughead in the series finale is the writer, the narrator and the version of Jughead that Betty loved most as evidenced by what he wore. He exists in all 3 universes, like a time-traveller of sorts. He’s the writer and narrator in Universe 1, the bunker writer in universe 2 and the guardian Angel in universe 3. But he took his version out of the story these last few seasons to show the audience a future with no Bughead, and instead wrote a version of Jughead that doesn’t pine after Betty and one that had a different girlfriend. That’s why when universe 3 Betty asks him on the park bench if he regrets never getting married, he says sometimes. Because he sometimes regrets never writing the two of them getting married in this universe. But he couldn’t because his version of Jughead wasn’t the main Jughead he was writing about in this story.
In the end, his universe 3 story wasn’t about Bughead, it was about Betty and wanting to give her everything she dreamed of, even if that didn’t include him. He wrote her a world where she didn’t have a serial killer father, where her sister was still alive, where she and Veronica were best friends, where Betty could enjoy her youth and explore her sexuality without having to choose between the two boys she was always torn between. He wrote her as a writer and a successful career woman rather than an FBI agent chasing down murderers and putting herself in danger. He wrote her as adopting a daughter that wasn’t at risk of inheriting the serial killer gene. He wrote a world where she got to be a normal teen and not have to investigate homicidal maniacs all the time. She got to go to school dances, drink milk shakes at Pops and hang out with her friends. She was able to repair her damaged relationship with her mum and find peace. She was a liberated woman with a strong voice who made a difference in the world.
So why did the show end with this version of her? Because it’s a way to show Betty finding peace and strength, and also not having to choose between Jughead and Archie. It makes her more than just a girlfriend who goes back and forth between two best friends.
This whole theory is further evidenced by beanie Jughead appearing outside Pops in the final scene and then hearing his typewriter as the show fades out. This was Jughead’s story all along, and the main character was Betty. It’s always been about Betty. The reason Jughead and Betty didn’t have any romantic scene in the series finale is because this wasn’t beanie Jughead’s Betty. This was the version of Betty that ends up with no one. It’s the last version of her that Jughead wrote in his book. The version of her that’s truly happy and at peace with herself and her life. He wrote her saying goodbye to Archie because that was not her endgame. Archie was just a childhood crush that existed in a fantasy world filled with magic and unrealistic scenarios like sewing on decapitated heads and bringing people back from the dead. Rivervale universe was never real and never made sense, just like Betty and Archie never made sense. And guess what happened to Betty in universe 2? She died, just like B*rchie did in the finale 😉
The only version of her that is still alive is the original one from Universe 1 that ends up with Jughead. We didn’t need to see their endgame on screen to know it happened. Their endgame is in the subtext. Jughead always loved Betty, and his story was about her. In universe 1 they are endgame, in universe 2 they are soul mates as bunker Jughead is able to do the impossible and contact her in Riverdale from Rivervale. And in universe 3 they are Romeo and Juliet. She spent her last day on earth with him, and died the day after finding out he died. They were star-crossed and couldn’t be together. The writing is on the wall.
As much as I would have loved an I love you, a kiss or even just a conversation discussing their history in the last episode, I take comfort in knowing that the characters I fell in love with in season 1 were completely different people in season 7. And from where I stand, the only explanation is it’s one big multiverse of madness concocted by a sardonic writer who was always in love with the girl next door, and spent most of his youth writing about her only to end the story with them both forever being 17. That is the same age they were when they were together and in love. It’s the same age their iconic duet is about. They just wanted to be 17, and that’s exactly how the show ends for them. Screams endgame to me :)
Just remember, nothing lasts forever. The greatest moments in life are the ones that don’t last long but leave a lasting impression. It’s the reason why we are so enthralled when we see a shooting star. It’s something so beautiful, yet so rare, so fleeting and near impossible to see with the naked eye that we stare in sheer wonderment at a dark sky full of dead stars waiting and hoping that such a spectacle will reveal itself to us again. So don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. And never lose hope; it’s the only voice inside of you strong enough to silence fear.
Thanks for the memories, Bughead family! Even though I haven’t been around the last few years, it’s an experience I’ll never forget, and I’ve made met people on here that I will be friends with for life ❤️❤️❤️

I'm a relatively recent WOH fan and have seen a fair amount of RPS candy. I'm trying to discern if they're to be believed or not, so I want to compare the actors behavior + fandom interpretation against BJYX's. As I have not watched The Untamed myself, I'm very curious about the opinion of a fan like yourself - if you're comfortable with sharing (I know there's been quite a history of fan wars, and I solemnly swear I'm not trying to start a fight). Objectively, between BJYX and LLD, which is more likely to genuinely be in a romantic relationship? Or are they both just as likely? Why do you think so? Feel free to respond either privately or publicly
Hey there @wingered, thanks for your question! I answer this as part of my Ring Saga series, linked here.
In summary, I personally believe that both BJYX and LLD are real. Unfortunately, there were some leaked private information that I ran into last year about BJYX... and I don't really want to speak of it but it helped solidify them even further for me. Not that I needed that to confirm or anything. In terms of YiZhan, they just acted/looked really in love. I don't think it's possible for us to really know for sure until the day c-ent and the CN government / society says it's okay to be out and gay. Even where I am in the US, it's still dangerous for LGBT+ people to be out, so there's no way to 100% confirm.
I've spent a lot of my recent life looking at and reading BJYX candies, and they formed the basis for my RPS-shipping life lol. Although, like I mention in my Ring Saga series, I don't really believe I'm an RPS (real person shipper) fan because I've only shipped real couples. And after beating back my internalized homophobia, the idea that same-sex couples must meet a greater standard or bar than heterosexual couples to be "legit," I realized that from what I've seen - BJYX and LLD are more married than actually married celebrity couples imo.
Like @rainbowsky has written before, gay people exist, some people are not straight people, and especially in the entertainment industry - lots and lots and lots of people are still in the closet/are open secrets/etc.
In terms of LLD/JunZhe, they've shared very similar "candies" to BJYX actually. Like pet names, sharing clothing, the elusive rings, blatant flirting during filming on their respective dangai/danmei adaptations. Even the similar situations that their SO's have been subjected to (227 for XZ and 813 for ZZH), you can visibly see how upset they are about how helpless they feel to help the one they love.
And it's just really obvious to me when two people are flirting? It makes me almost want to throw up at how ridiculously in love they are? And I want more? lol. I'm going to be compiling a lot of my archives on LLD to organize my thoughts more on this blog, and the first in that series is the Ring Saga. This is when I was convinced that they're actually in a relationship.
It's almost eerie that two very popular dangai adaptations also had their co-stars fall in love IRL. I wouldn't expect this to happen all the time, but I'd like to posit this idea. Maybe I'm working in an industry where my personal identity has to be hidden for my own success. And maybe I run into a like-minded individual, and I find them attractive and fun to be around. We flirt. Get to know each other. Because our characters are meant to be so intertwined and so in love, we have to spend a lot of time talking to each other, building our chemistry. And maybe that chemistry takes off, it's not unusual, people fall in love on set all the time. So my co-star and I end up having lots in common, we share hopes and dreams, we're both relatively unknown at the time, and just want to do our best in our work. And then the show wraps, it premieres, and it's a big hit. Shooting upwards in fame can be isolating, it can push me more towards my new friend, who is in the exact same situation as I am. We talk more and get closer, maybe rekindle things, and make lifelong promises and exchange rings and maybe buy a house and a dog / cat together iunno hahaha. When I put it this way, it seems like it's just something that can naturally happen. Maybe it happens more often that we'd think.
Thanks for asking me! I was in a similar boat to you, and believing in these queer folks who fall in love make me really happy, so I hope I answered your questions well.

Yes, I'm fine, thanks.🥰 I'm just at the learning stage, although during this time I've read a lot and made some conclusions myself. Now it’s about communication, discussion, this has been lacking lately. In addition to all this, I almost immediately found the right blogs when I downloaded Tumblr, one of them was yours😊 I'm glad the community is still interested in these things. Thank you for supporting my Mosher journey😊
I completely agree and support that Layla isn’t from their cast completely, but at the same time she is the person who constantly participated in something. Also, unexpectedly from the fact that she suddenly became such a "bestie" for someone, well, except for definitely one person, we know, I am talking about😏 I even wonder how she does it. Invisibly and cunningly or literally with the order "I'll be there, I'll go with you”. And I also wonder why Noel agrees to all this? Is there no way out? At all? Or is there something I don't fully understand🙈
Thanks for the explanations and links about the theory of the moon and the sun. Probably, maybe something can be attributed to "coincidences", but everything I've read about it doesn't look like a constant coincidence. I would like one of them to directly confirm at least a small part of the various theories.. Such dreams 😅
Their wedding is one big misunderstanding. But for some reason it was necessary for her/him/them, apparently... Is there a theory on this?😅😊
I get what you mean. It is just a sunset and the moon, right? Who doesn't love the sunset or a beautiful moon? Lol
It is either a total coincidence or very clever of both of them, because for average viewers a picture of the moon or the sunset or a tattoo wouldn't be suspicious at all. I would actually love that theory to be true. Cam is the sun with his red hair and freckles and Noel is the moon with his blue eyes and skin tone. It's a sweet and romantic thought, that's why it's probably a very liked theory :) The point is, that Cam probably knows every popular mosher theory. He was very active back in the days, argued with fans, shared mosher screenshots and he was caught liking posts on mosher pages. He immedieatley deleted his like after a few seconds, i guess it was an accident and he was just scrolling through the posts. He must came across the sun and moon theory too someday and nevertheless he lifted his tattooed arm up, visibly showing his moon tattoo, while wearing the sun/lion shirt. He could have lifted the other arm or strike another pose to silence us completely, to not serve us any possible tea again. That's why we think, that everything he does, is on purpose. Or he simply don't give a fuck. Also possible 👍🏼
I really don't know, why he married Layla after waiting 12 years (i have read 12 years today, I didn’t checked if it's true though). Maybe they were on low budget and saved money, but the result of the saving doesn't look like a very expensive wedding. Maybe he had serious relationship issues with her, that's why they married. You think no way? Too crazy? Have you ever heard of people who try to make a baby, because the relationship was so damaged, that they believed a baby would fix everything again? Trust me, there is nothing on earth, that is too crazy or impossible. People have the weirdest reasons to defend their actions. Maybe the rumours about him and Cam started to get a real issue for his private life and for his carreer and they thought marriying will silence people. Maybe he loves her and remembered that he acutally needs to marry her after 12 years, i don't know. Only god knows and both of them haha. Maybe his pr agent, his family or one or two people more know the real reason behind that too, but definately not me (unfortunately 😢) Ask People Magazine. They were one of the rare guests 🤣
Oh and by the way: This was his answer to why he is not on a honeymoon trip with her. He looked very unprepared for that question, it caught him off-guard and his reaction is very telling for me. Also he doesn't look very happy, when she mentioned "you literally got married". I've never seen a happier newlywed in my life 🙈 Oh god, Noel 🙈 Our man was not 100 % honest here.

However, it is crucial not to jump to conclusions without concrete evidence. The reasons for account closures can vary and may include violations of the app's terms of service, engaging in prohibited activities such as gambling or fraudulent transactions, or even identity verification issues.
It's understandable why some users might feel concerned about their financial information when they see others having their accounts closed. However, until official statements are released confirming an investigation into Cash App, we should be cautious with spreading unverified information.

It's important to note that Cash App takes these violations seriously in order to protect its users and maintain a safe platform.
If your Cash App account has been closed, you may find yourself unable to access certain features like tax returns. This can be frustrating and raise concerns about your financial information. However, it's crucial not to panic as there could be other ways to retrieve this information even with a closed account.
As for the investigation surrounding Cash App, there have been rumors circulating regarding possible scrutiny by regulatory authorities. These investigations aim at ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to financial transactions and user protection.
While these investigations do add an extra layer of uncertainty for both existing and potential users of Cash App, it is essential not to jump into conclusions without concrete evidence or official statements from relevant authorities. It's always wise to stay updated on any news or notifications provided by the company itself regarding changes in policies or ongoing investigations.
In conclusion (without using those words), if you find yourself with a closed Cash App account and need access to your tax returns or other important information, reach out directly through customer support channels available on their website or app. They can guide you through any necessary steps or provide alternative solutions based on your specific situation.

Lumen Order - Introduction
“OUR OATH WILL ILLUMINATE THE DARKEST LANDS”
THE WORLD
In the realm of Bakonaua, the lands are always ravaged by thieves, violence, and monsters that prowl in the darkest nights. People tend to stay inside the city walls when dusk comes and night falls. However that was not always the case in this realm. Bakonaua, around the age of progress, was a beautiful land known for its night festivals. People celebrate in the comfort of the star-lit night, they bask in the afterglow of the moon, and most importantly, the people revere the serpent deity, Baku. Baku resides above the moon, they say the stars are his scales that were shedded and left there so that people will know their way around the lands. Whenever the sun rises, Baku goes away to travel among the stars and returns every night for him to tell stories to his people. In return, the people give offerings to the serpent god for the story and his light.
Unfortunately, that is where their story ends. While Baku’s stories provided him reverence from his followers. There are some who are not content with his wisdom. At first, it was impure thoughts of wanting power that spread around their minds like a snakebite. These thoughts eventually blossom on how they can persuade Baku to impart his power to their most devout followers. It made their minds numb with greed and obsession over what they believe to be a way to gain power from the heavenly bodies.
Nobody knew where that baseless rumor started, but the way it affected the lands is like an infection. A poison spreads slowly, creeping its way and numbing the mind and any rationality. It struck the hardest at the Capital, where Bakonaua resides and conducted sermons to groups of children who went out of their way to visit him. The fanatics visited as well, but with less than pure intentions.
It was ironic, the very incident that will impact the realm for all eternity was around a New Moon. The light in the dark, the celestial body that embodies their very god hides for what’s coming.
First, they sealed every exit. No one goes in or out, the walls stood quietly muffling the screams that came after. Second, they took over the supplies and controlled the waterway of fresh water. They now control who gets to eat or drink. But the usurpers only took it for themselves. Lastly, they took the very children hostage as they waited for Baku to fulfill their demands. Yet he remains firm, they have nothing to gain but stories from beyond the stars.
The fanatics grew restless and Baku calmly looked at them on the altar. His slithered body wraps around the center of the temple. His scales glimmered whenever the flames from the torches came into contact with it. He thought of a way to diffuse these situations, it was normal for people to misinterpret his stories. Baku always resolved it by telling the story again in different angles, much like how the stars tend to look different on certain occasions of the night. Sometimes he would use allegory to better make them understand his teachings, this technique was popular with the children. As he was about to come up with a solution, the fanatics did the unthinkable. The blood of the children flowed along the cracks of Baku’s temple. Fresh and warm to the feeling as each fanatic gilded their blade along their necks. Bright young flames snuffed out one by one. It was stupid suggestion, a simple quip between one another. They suggested that the power would be given with a sacrifice, so they did and all they got was the prowling eyes of Baku.
In his rage, Baku immediately rose up and broke through the temple’s canopy roof. He didn’t even care who might be struck with the rubble. Whether it was the temple priest or the fanatics, all he must do is avenge the young ones. Baku rose until he came face-to-face with the moon, still cloaked in darkness. In the sea of stars, he slithered unto the moon and wrapped his whole serpentine body around it. After that, it was quiet down below. The fanatics waited, the priest cowered, and all of who saw it from afar felt an emotion from a being they least expected. Fear.
As Baku wraps his body around the moon, his scales fall onto the world like comets. These fallen stars break and scatter among the lands and everything it touches become corroded and fester into unspoken horrors. The trees died as branches splintered open and oozing with tar-like sap. The ground darkened and cracked as no life began to grow, not even weeds. Small bodies of water began to muddle as fish rose up lifeless, animals who began to drink the corroded water began to change into horrible creatures. They lose any traces of sanity as their skins begin to go gray, their tails losing their skin, and their eyes bloodshot and mindless.
The humans weren’t spared as well, to those unfortunate souls who got touched by the shedding skin had a fate worse than death. Their bones were mangled to a degree that it wasn’t humanly possible. Some were still able to walk with their own two feet, others crawled or were on all fours. Their skin darkened like the night. The hair, nails, teeth, and eyes were stained in blinding white. In the dark, they are mostly dangerous, the only thing you will notice is their wailing. A cacophony of voices fighting over which words to say. But before any foolish traveler could act, the moment of death has been inscribed by the terrors of the night.
Truly the only thing that Baku gave to those fanatics and the entirety of humanity, was just another story in another way. A story of greed in a world sunken in darkness.

To be natural - is demanded | 1 |
‣ summary: As a result of the recent dating rumours spreading around, you are forced by your agency to resort to a very popular practice among idols: adopting a hybrid to draw the attention of your fans to the adorableness of your new platonic partner and not the scandal on the verge of breaking out. But it's hard to get used to having a second shadow when you're accustomed to being on your own, especially if your new companion is hell-bent on having all your attention directed at him. Constantly.

When you wake up at 6:00 A.M. sharp for practice, after a very late night, you find an unexpected short text by Min Yoongi – that producer – blinking on your phone.
Sorry, it says. And nothing else.
You blink right back.
To say you are dumbfounded would put it lightly.
While rubbing your tired, crusted eyes and mentally lamenting the days of old where you could go to sleep at 4 A.M. and wake up two hours later no problem, you try to search your mind for answers. You remembered meeting Min Yoongi yesterday, along with fellow producers ADORA and El Capitxn, at a high-class and moderately discrete bar uptown to celebrate the finished song on which you had all worked together.
Well, to be fair you had ended up just putting your voice and the minimal effort required. You had your moments, for sure, but it was also evident you weren’t on par with them. So you had let them work their magic.
“Brilliant songwriters, the lot of ‘em, but can’t be bothered to put context,” you mutter frustrated, letting your phone fall on the bed and resolving yourself to start your day.
Letting your feet down on the fluffy indigo carpet, you stand up and stretch your arms up until you hear a satisfying pop. Then you shuffle somewhat awkwardly to your bathroom. And even if you have to only cross the room, you manage to stumble twice, somehow. Sparing a glance down, you notice that your handbag and half your outfit from yesterday have found their home on the floor, among the residing mess.
I’ll clean all that later, when I have time, you think, as if you haven’t thought that three times already only that week.
You enter in the shower with one eye open, get out refreshed, clothe yourself and pick up your phone, come back to brush your teeth, do your skincare routine and deal with your hair – with a podcast about urban legends in the background that you had meant to catch up on.
All the while, you keep thinking of that Sorry.
You change bags because a pochette is fancy but unsuitable for work, and you are on your way at 7 A.M. on the dot, like always.
But your routine still feels disrupted.
Tumblr media
Lee Jeong-hoon sighs heavily for what seems like the 100th time while looking forlornly out the window, a frown pulling down his mouth. You are currently imagining yourself punching that same mouth.
You cross your arms even more tightly against your chest and resist the temptation.
Barely.
The urge comes and goes, wave after wave, corroding yourself-restraint and fomenting your repressed rage.
Unfortunately for you, you are in a moving vehicle, he’s sitting right beside you, and your phone is shattered (long story short: you threw it at a wall).
But it is not all bitterness and annoyance: you feel tired. At 10 A.M. on a Monday’s morning, you should be in a meeting, drinking iced tea brought in by an attentive assistant and consulting the marketing team assigned to you.
Instead, you had just received a rigorous reprimand from the aforementioned team’s leader and the director of the PR department. The icing on top came when you found out the CEO had issued a direct order to your manager. Said instruction then was presented to you as a “strongly suggested precaution you must agree to take for your benefit and that of the company”.
In fewer words: the great boss overrode the chain of command to charge you to follow set instructions chosen by him and the board.
A movement from the corner of your eye catches your attention: yes, Jeong-hoon is sighing, yet again. This time luck is on his side because you have just arrived at your destination.
Manager Lee turns to you with a stern face.
“Sunglasses on, no talking and don’t be difficult,” he stresses, adjusting his cufflinks.
“I know, I know,” you say, impatient. “Just… let’s get this over quickly. I’m already nervous.”
“If you were paying more attention to your surrounding, now we wouldn’t–”
“I was celebrating and tipsy. Have you ever had fun, Manager Lee? Do I need to explain what it means?”
Jeong-hoon groans aloud and gets out when the driver opens the door in lieu of any answers. When you make to follow him, he purposely closes the door on your face.
“Really?” you ask at the empty car.
You’re aiming for exasperated, but it comes out as amused.
When you exit the car – Gucci sunglasses and matching wool beanie on – you’re fighting off a half-smile, but the sight of the building in front of you is enough to erase it.
That morning, Min Yoongi wrote you Sorry because he found a photo of the two of you hugging outside the high-class bar plastered on the most popular gossip magazine. In the image, the man in question had on a black beanie under which escaped some blond hair, he was of average height and dressed in black, but with the face miraculously hidden behind a stark white mask, eyes behind a pair of sunglasses even if it was the middle of the night. You remembered, two drinks in, jokingly asking him if he was gonna wear them everywhere he went and the way he took it as a challenge. Anyway, his identity was safe, but yours wasn’t: anyone worth their while would recognize you in a heartbeat.
The news was spreading fast; everybody interested in the music industry already knew the latest rumour. The agency refused to announce the collaboration with the famous producer before the time was due, but with equal vehemence spurned the idea of letting the matter go.
You have never been caught dead in any scandal, not when you were part of your girl group during your teenage years and early adulthood, and so it couldn’t happen once you were a full-ass grown adult on the cusp of being a worldwide known star.
What a terrible thing for your fans to find out that you may have a flirt or even a boyfriend, but what a delight if it turns out to be just an adorable, pretty, blond hybrid.
“Come, H,” Jeong-hoon whispers, trying to look around discreetly and appearing all the more suspicious for it. His dark brown eyes dart all over the place. His countenance is all anxiety and his manner all business-like.
You roll your eyes unseen, thank the driver for reopening the door for you, walk the few meters of the desert sidewalk that separates you from the entrance and make your entrance.
The neutral interior of the shelter greets you and soon afterwards there’s also the smile of the secretary to welcome you.
“Good morning!” she calls by the desk where she can overlook her white and empty foyer. She has a cute dimple on her right cheek and chestnut curls all over the place.
You try for a smile and let manager Lee take the wheel of the conversation, as instructed.
“Hello!” He exclaims back, an answering bright smile on his face. He acts as if he’s right at home in that sterile place, with his crisp and expensive pinstripe three-piece suit, toffee brown hair in immaculate order, morning’s chaos notwithstanding.
You two walk to the desk, where secretary – you look for the tag with her name – Da-Hui is already prattling on in a cheerful manner.
“Welcome to Nabi! We are an adoption shelter, specialized in the care and maintenance of hybrids of the more common breeds,” she says vivaciously. “We are convinced that every hybrid deserves a safe space and a lovely family, therefore we don’t have just youngsters. We rescue, feed and take care of strays and hybrids that are searching for their forever home but haven’t been lucky with their first few tries. We offer a basic care package, free of charge, for the first adoption! If you require any assistance afterwards, there’s a toll-free number to call for any question, pamphlets available on our website and courses which – for a fee – will answer any more doubts you might have!”
Jeong-hoon just nods, nonplussed.
“She’s here to adopt a hybrid,” he says.
“Ah!” Da-Hui turns to you with her big smile and little dimple on display. “But of course! I’ll call for Seojun. He’ll lead you to the darlings and you will fall in love with one on them right on the spot!”
“Sounds great,” you say, ignoring the amused smirk of manager Lee.
The diligent secretary doesn’t seem to hear you, the phone already in her small hand and a frown of concentration on her face while she searches for the correct contact. When she finds it she smiles and presses it. At this point, she seems to recall your presence and mouth at you to please, wait. On the third ring a male voice answer on the other end.
In the silence of the entrance hall, the worker can be clearly heard saying: “Yo, Da-Hui.”
“Seojun, there’s someone interested in seeing the hybrids, no preference yet stated,” states back Da-Hui, all professional.
“Yah, you probably didn’t even let them answer you,” says the voice, a faint trace of mirth colour it and deepen it.
The secretary casts a hurried glance in your direction, expression aghast, and you and Jeong-hoon tactfully pretend to be interested in the non-existent interior of the foyer and to not be at a hearing distance of the conversation occurring at the lengthy distance of one metre by you two.
Da-Hui lower imperceptibly her tone of voice and in what she probably thinks is a whisper, but really isn’t, says: “I don’t talk that much!” And then with her slightly louder, normal voice: “Are you on your way?”
“Here I am.”
The voice comes both from the phone in Da-Hui’s hand and on the right.
Jeong-hoon turns to the newcomer with a ready smile while the secretary puts the phone on the desk at its place. You resign yourself to a series of infinite pleasantries and small talks, but Seojun seems to be in a hurry, so he cuts to the chase.
“The hybrids are this way,” he says and turns back to walk the way he came from.
“Have a good time!” Says Da-Hui, before turning to the screen of her computer.
Lee follows the tall caretaker through the white door, with you closing the line. Neither of you is surprised when you walk down a snow-white corridor and find yourselves in a smaller– still white – room, where there’s some attempt at customizing the place with a mismatched set of couch and armchairs, a desk drowning in documents and an empty bookshelf.
Indeed there are no hybrids there.
“I need to take your personal information, first,” says Seojun, as if reading your mind, passing a hand through the mop of black hair that sits at the top of his head.
You let out your breath really slow, then sit on one blue armchair. Jeong-hoon sits on the red one, and then asks, as if he has just noticed: “Are you a new establishment, perchance?”
“Yes,” replies curtly Seojun, searching for a particular sheet of paper under the tower of sheets of paper that are beginning to sway sideways like a pendulum. You wonder if it would be enough to hypnotize you and carry you far, far away, in a place where you aren’t trying to adopt a whole fucking person and pretending to be all-right about it.
“Ah,” comments bland Lee, side-eyeing you.
You shrug, without looking at him.
Your company probably searched for such a place on purpose. Not to twist the knife already stuck in your side, but to mud your traces. The photo where you are with Min Yoongi was published today: everyone will remember that. A shelter that has just opened is too busy with work and check-ups and the hybrids themselves to talk gossip and spread around sensitive information.
You have to take home a hybrid today, but soon enough no-one would know the specific time it happened and it would only matter that you have a platonic companion. It’s still free real estate, everyone! Now please go buy the new single~
You follow the piles of paper – left-to-right, right-to-left – and breath in and out. You’re pretty sure you don’t have anger issues, but sometimes the industry truly got on your last nerve. And today was a terrible, awful, God-forsaken day.
“A-ha!” exclaim Seojun, extricating the form he was searching for in the middle of the tower second on the left. He manages to not make anything fall, but he pulls his index finger in his mouth, sucking at a papercut. He’s still busy in this activity when he offers the questionnaire to you two, while saying: “Go a’ead!”
Manager Lee takes it, pulls out his fountain pen with a flourish and compiles it in record speed, showcasing the acquired talent that comes with the job. When Seojun has it back, his index isn’t in his mouth anymore, so you hear him pronounce your full name clearly.
“That’s you?” He asks while pointing to the place where your signature needs to go.
You nod, then you stretch your hand out and Jeong-hoon reluctantly lends you his precious fountain pen so that you can sign. He immediately takes it back as soon as you have finished.
“Okay, then, last thing last: this is an adoption, so we don’t accept money from it, however, if you would like to help us–,” starts Seojun with a monotonous voice.
“Yes,” cuts short Lee. “We could discuss it between us when she has found the hybrid she likes most.”
“Let’s hope the hybrid will like her back,” replies the caretaker, while taking them to a second door, through – you can guess it – another white, short, corridor.
You take a couple longer steps and ask Jeong-Hoon, when you see him check his Rolex: “What time is it?”
“You don’t want to know,” he answers with a sigh.
“Here we are,” drawls Seojun, opening the last white door.
And here you are, in a room brightened, if not in furniture, then by the people. The place is divided in several smaller enclosures, each habitat surrounded by glass, with temporary paper arrows to indicate which kinds of hybrids resides where.
You are distracted by them, you can almost hear Da-Hui –for you are certain the secretary was the one to write them– enunciate: “FELINES!”, “CANIDS!” and “SMALL RODENTS!”, while jotting it down.
It seems that the space on the last arrow run out sooner than expected.
Against your better judgment, you can’t help but smile in front of such evident enthusiasm.
“These are all of them?” Jeong-hoon asks, perplexed.
You can see why he would be caught off guard. By the introduction made by Da-Hui you were envisioning a room packed full of hybrids, but there are twenty or so, and only a handful of them are blond. Of them, even fewer are males.
“Eh,” says Seojun shrugging. “We are just setting everything up, but already some has come and went. Just yesterday, for example…”
You elect to ignore him, walking forward the enclosure with the arrow that says “FELINES!” pointing at it and look through the glass. There are two blond guys here, one is sleeping peacefully with a slight smile on his chubby face and the other is in the middle of an intense staring contest with a fellow hybrid cat, his ears pinned back and eyes narrowed.
Either will do, you think, distracted. Do hybrids move their tails while sleeping?
You had just thought this when suddenly the one you were watching open his eyes and – almost as if he can sense you – point his sleepy gaze at you. Instinctively you freeze. You feel like a child caught doing something they know they shouldn’t do. He continues to stare back, but he seems more curious than anything else.
“Ehi,” you say aloud and then wonder if the glass would keep them from hearing you.
You have your answer when all the hybrids’ ears swivel towards you in perfect synchronization. A smile fight to appear, and you have to bite it back. It becomes even more difficult to do so when the blond hybrid that caught your attention raise his hand to point his index finger at himself, with an expression full of disbelief.
You nod and watch, amused by the way he scrambles to stand up ad half-jog to where you are, zig-zagging through the other hybrids. Then he’s in front of you, all soft features and big hazel eyes.
You remove your sunglasses, secure in your anonymity, and meet his gaze.
His eyes search out yours, and he smiles back at you, plush pink mouth pulled up at the edges and highlighting his round cheeks. The sudden and compelling urge of squishing his face between your palms sweep you up, and you want to savour their fullness between your fingers and peck his adorable nose to keep his smile on his face It’s a startling impulse, but you don’t want to retreat yet.
“What’s your name?” You ask, your voice sounds surprisingly calm and collected.
His smile turns shy. “I’m Jimin. What about yours?”
His voice is high and you can’t tell if it’s only because of nerves. But it’s melodious: you immediately imagine him singing you to sleep, lulling you in peaceful dreams. Perhaps of the same kind he was having before he abandoned his drowsiness.
You tell him, then hesitate a moment and add: “My stage name is Hitomi, though.”
“Stage name?” He repeats, seeming confused, but then he lets it slide. “Does it mean something in another language?”
“Yes, it’s Japanese.” You hesitate again, sending a brief look behind you. Manager Lee is already staring at you: he gives you a discrete nod. It’s time to go. You refocus your attention on Jimin, his expectant gaze meeting yours immediately. “I’ll tell you another time. That is, if you want to come home with me.”
That was bold.
But the cat hybrid lights up, another big smile on his chubby face, the blond waves of his hair accentuating the angelic look.
“Yes!” He almost shouts, and then when all the other feline hybrids hiss, at a lower tone, but with no less emphasis: “Yes, I want to come home with you.”
Seojun seems to appear out of nowhere the moment the words are out of Jimin’s mouth. You hurry to put back your sunglasses, but he smiles placid at him and only then turns to tell you: “Seems like the one you chose, chose you back.”
You can’t tell if he’s pulling your leg or if he truly thought no hybrid there would have liked you. He doesn’t give you time to answer him, either.
“You and you buddy can wait in the office, while I retrieve Jimin here, prepare his documents, he packs his things and yadda, yadda,” he says, hides a yawn half-heartedly behind his hand and goes to another door after giving a last nod to the cat hybrid.
You raise an eyebrow at Jimin and he giggles.
It’s a heartwarming sound, one you can’t wait to hear again, from now on.
He tells you: “He’s quite blunt, but he really cares about us.”
Then he looks at you from under his long eyelashes and his hazel eyes peek at you in a game of hide and seek. He places his right hand on the glass and without thinking about it you place your left at the other side of the glass; you watch his fingers twitch as if he was tempted to link them with yours. He smiles again and all you can think is: cute, cute, cute. Over and over, until your head is filled with his face and what must be cotton, because you can’t hear nor focus on anything else.
“Will you show me your stage, too?” he whispers.
The words are loaded with deep significance and emotions. You lick your bottom lip and swear to yourself that you can taste them. You could spend the rest of your life trying to decode their full meaning and never get there, never truly understand what he went through to stand here before you now, what he thought in that specific moment when he pronounced those words, what he wanted to convey exactly.
You try to answer him, but he blushes, looks down and turns to exit hastily his own personal snowglobe, and you look at him from the outside, your hand still on its cold wall.
You know you’ll think about those words for a long time.
But you have all the time to answer him.

Enemies to Lovers | Larry Fanfic Recs
Walk That Mile by purpledaisy | 149k | Explicit
Harry stares at him, the line of his jaw standing out scarily. “I wanted to get the most out of this trip so I planned it carefully.” His voice is low and steady and somehow that’s worse than when he was yelling. “So far, you’ve put your sticky fingers on everything I’ve tried to do.”
“Sticky fingers?” Louis repeats, offended. “Are you saying it’s my fault you got stung by a bee? Had you been alone you would have gotten halfway to the Dotty Diner and ran the car off the road because of an allergic reaction, so don’t go blaming me.”
“Polk-A-Dot Drive In,” Harry spits before getting out of the car. He slams the door shut with a deafening reverb and Louis rolls his eyes.- A Route 66 AU where falling in love was never part of the plan.
Unbelievers by isthatyoularry | 136k | Explicit
It’s Louis’ senior year, and he’s dead set on doing it right. However, along with his pair of cleats, a healthy dose of sarcasm and his ridiculous best friend, he’s also got a complicated family, a terrifyingly uncertain future, and a mortal enemy making his life just that much worse. Mortal enemies “with benefits” was not exactly the plan.
Or: The one where Louis and Harry definitely aren’t friends, and football is everything.
we're not friends, we could be anything by nooelgallagher, yoursongonmyheart | 115k | Explicit
Louis narrows his eyes at Harry. “What that supposed to be a fucking joke?”
Harry narrows his eyes right back. “It was a good joke.”
Louis rolls his eyes. “Jokes require laughter, Curls.” Louis glances down at Harry’s thighs again, Christ. “Your pants must be so tight they’re restricting airflow to your brain.”
Harry wipes a bead of sweat off his forehead. “Pretty sure yoga is supposed to increase airflow, blood flow, and all that,” he responds dryly, finally jumpstarting himself and walking away from Louis towards his own bedroom.
Louis can’t help but stare at his broad back, still sheen with drying sweat, and his perky bum in the tight yoga pants.
Louis swallows. Christ.
...Or, the one where Harry and Louis are unlikely uni flatmates who definitely don't like each other and definitely won't fall in love (even if Liam and Niall think otherwise).
Our Lives, Non-Fiction by indiaalphawhiskey | 113k | Explicit
Heralded as the next Neil Gaiman, Louis Tomlinson does not appreciate being told that his very serious novel is in dire need of a PR boost. Even worse, that it comes in the form of a joint book tour with the UK’s #1 online romance-writing sensation Marcel Styles. Already turbulent at best, their partnership takes a drastic turn when, overly stressed about his looming deadline, Marcel accidentally blurts out a secret: though he’s famed for his scorching hot literary love scenes, he is, actually, a virgin.
Convinced that the only way to rid himself of writer’s block is to gain some experience, Marcel asks Louis, author-to-author, to sleep with him – for Science. And of course Louis agrees because, well, what on Earth could possibly go wrong?
Or, a lesson in romance that proves that sometimes the best love stories aren’t always by the book.
Soft Hands, Fast Feet, Can't Lose by dolce_piccante | 112k | Mature
American Uni AU. Harry Styles is a frat boy football star from the wealthy Styles Family athletic dynasty. A celebrity among football fans, he knows how to play, he knows how to party, and he knows how to fuck (all of which is well known among his legion of admirers).
Louis Tomlinson is a student and an athlete, but his similarities to Harry end there. Intelligent, focused, independent, and completely uninterested in Harry’s charms, Louis is an anomaly in a world ruled by football.
A bet about the pair, who might be more similar than they originally thought, brings them together. Shakespeare, ballet, Disney, football, library chats, running, accidental spooning, Daredevil and Domino’s Pizza all blend into one big friendship Frappucino, but who will win in the end?

Louis accidentally breaks Harry's camera lens and in order to get it fixed, they decide to participate in a romantic couples study. The only issue is that they are not actually couple. Well that and the fact they cannot stand each other.

Harry was in the biggest boy band in the world. He was also one half of the best (or worst, depends on who you ask) kept secret relationship in the music industry.
Now, almost five years on, after One Direction has broken up, and Harry and Louis' relationship has as well, a video threatens to put everything at risk.
One determined Irishman, a massive publicity stunt and two begrudging exes are all it takes to bring One Direction back to life and maybe, just maybe, Harry and Louis' mangled love life too.
Or: Harry and Louis are forced to fake-date after an old video from when they were dating emerges.
The Sidelines by RedRidingStiles | 47k | Explicit
"Alright, I know you guys are the best of friends but I'd like you to do this for the rest of the team,” Cowell says, making the rest of the team snicker. "So I want both of you to compliment each other." "I hate your trainers. I mean that in the nicest way possible. They're very...yellow," Louis says, arms crossed as he offers a fake close-lipped grin. "It's really nice of you to blow anyone you find slightly attractive," Harry replies, a sickening sweet smile on his lips. "Thank you, children, let me remind you this is a college hockey team. Try again," Coach says, completely unamused.
Or Harry and Louis play hockey for Penn state and can't stand one another, since they can't keep their hatred off the ice their coach and team do what they can to keep their hard earned spot in the playoffs and their two star players from killing each other

Taking the sheet cluttered with times available for the next few weeks, Louis notices a pattern in the list. The name of the person Perrie had just mentioned: Harry Styles. It’s written at least seven times, and three of which are during timeframes Louis wants.
“Who the fuck is Harry Styles?”
“You’re about to find out,” she answers, pointing over Louis’ shoulder.
Or a Love/Hate College AU where Louis Tomlinson is the lead singer of The Rogue - the most popular band on campus - and Harry Styles is the talented Freshman unknowingly challenging all that.
All the Right Moves by cherrystreet | 32k | Explicit
This is the third game in a row that Harry has been distracted by the noisy boy in the stands, five rows back.
There’s really no reason that he should feel compelled to stare into the audience as frequently as he is, but he can’t help it. This boy is a nuisance. And he’s loud. Even from basketball court with nine other players running by him, shoes squeaking on the shiny hardwood floor, and thousands of cheering college students, Harry can hear this boy nearly shrieking, his laugh more like a cackle than anything.
It’s seriously obnoxious.

"We're two different types of people, Liam. He likes sex and drugs, I like theater and tea. Trust me, we'd never date." Except they would, they do, and neither of them plans on letting go anytime soon.
"Just because you can get me hard doesn't mean I like you," Louis whispered. The fact was, he didn't like Harry right now, not at all. Not even a bit.
"Yeah, yeah," Harry murmured, his breath fanning over Louis' cock as he spoke. "You done telling me how much you hate me so I can suck you off?"

“Um…” Harry said slowly after a moment. “Okay. That’s… this is… Let me get this straight.” He lifted up a hand and swallowed. “You told your family that you have a boyfriend… and my name was the first one you thought of?” “Harry Potter was on TV, alright? It wasn’t that much of a stretch.” Louis pinched the bridge of his nose. He couldn’t believe he was explaining himself to Harry fucking Styles. He couldn’t believe he was stooping this low. “Forget it. I’m sorry I even thought about bringing you into this.”
Harry snorted. “What? Did you want me to pretend to be your boyfriend or something?”

Louis becomes so ignorant he decides to no longer eye the boy taunting him. “Trophies prove it all, Styles.”
“Where’s your trophy for biggest asshole?”
“Where’s yours for winning cross country?”
Harry growls before hooking his fingers in Louis’ belt loops and bringing them together for a flat kiss.

“Should we tell him?”
When Lauren is met with everyone either nodding their heads or shrugging, she takes a deep breath. “I mean, I think it’s pretty obvious by now.” She stalls, sounding ominous and Louis doesn’t like it one bit.
“What is obvious by now?” Louis asks. He’s starting getting anxious. “I swear to God, spit it out. Stop being so damn cryptic.”
“I—We think it’s pretty obvious that you’re in love with Harry,” she states simply and shrugs as if she isn’t telling him he’s in love with the second—Nick being the first—most annoying person on the planet.

This time as his stomach rolls, there’s no doubt about it. He’s going to vomit. And if he does, it’ll be on Louis’ shoes, a nice little parting gift to go with the embarrassment he’s caused the both of them. “I’m gonna throw up,” he says just as Louis turns to look at him, blue eyes swimming with shock and confusion, and asks, “Is that true?”
Or, in a rush of bravery only senior year can bring, Harry confesses his feelings in a letter to his neighbor and best friend, Louis, only for the entire school to hear it and laugh him out of their small town in Wisconsin. 'Stupid Cupid, Stop Hitting On Me' by Bluefire510
Juke
Luke, a troublemaker cupid, meets Julie, who is also one of Love HQ's toughest cases to crack.
She claims to have no desire to fall in love.
But Luke is always up for a challenge.
Let's see if he could get Julie to fall for her Perfect Match by next Valentine's Day.... and maybe teach her all about love while he's at it.
*Operation Hashtag Rulie by where_you_go
Reggie/Luke/Julie
“Explain yourselves,” Caleb ground out.
“Uh…it’s not what it looks like?” Reggie tried, wincing.
“Oh really, Reginald? Because it looks like two of my most popular band members from a family-friendly band are fornicating in public!”
-
Julie and Reggie get caught up in a PR misunderstanding that leads to them "dating" for a few months. It's not a big deal, or at least it wouldn't be, if Luke would stop acting so weird.
*Unexpected by Phantom_Lover
Luke is determined to breeze through his senior year and onto mega stardom (which means avoiding school, and Principal Lessa, as much as possible). That is until he's forced to work side-by-side with quiet good-girl, Julie Molina, on the big end-of-the-year talent show. The two struggle to see eye to eye, and meeting the all-important deadline seems impossible until something unexpected happens between them.

Julie Molina has always thought it would be rather exciting to meet a pirate.
Unfortunately, she's right.
"Julie, Julie Patterson, I'm a maid here in the governor's household," she bluffs. And she wishes that Luke's name hadn't been the first that she'd come up with, because the long-haired pirate's eyebrows raise immediately.
"Luke got married?" he says, sounding oddly betrayed.
His blonde companion looks equally gutted. "He didn't even tell us."

Alex Mercer doesn't want to go home for Christmas; but if he has to, he's certainly gonna raise a little hell. Enter: Willie, the cute guy in his history of English class who would be the perfect fake boyfriend candidate.
So if you wanna piss off your parents, date me to scare them, show them you're all grown up. If long hair and tattoos are what attract you, baby then you're in luck.

She should google that). It felt like that moment her parents spoke about all the time. The day they met. And when they first spoke to each other. Her mom always says that an intense zap went through her whole body.
Are you new or nervous? Julie has been waiting a (short)lifetime to hear those words be said to her.
She walked down a few more steps in the auditorium and found a spot. It was one of the few seats left in the room that wasn’t all the way up in the back. She sat down and settled into the uncomfortable, hard, plastic chair and took a deep shaky breath. The prof was nowhere to be seen. But there was a cute boy in the seat next to her. He had sort of long brown hair that was covered with a grey toque. And he was wearing a cut off t-shirt and you could see his very nice arms. Julie’s breathing was still shaky, and his attractiveness wasn’t helping the situation.

There's been some pretty vicious attacks from certain segments of solo fans in the past few months, blaming one party or the other for having a hand in, or organising, the attack against XZ and 227. What are your thoughts on the "black smear" side of the entertainment business - do you think it's reasonable to place blame on GGDD for smear campaigns or even Yuehua or WJJW, or is this just an easy way for solos to fight one another and bring down the CP in turn? And thoughts on reuters/stalkers?
This is one of those rare times that I hope what I have to say somehow gets translated and makes its way to China, since none of the actual parties involved can say anything about it.
From a strictly legal perspective, none of the actual stakeholders (artists, companies, publishers, etc.) are responsible for the actions of fans and should not actually be held liable for the actions of a third party. While this may not be the overall cultural belief, given the fact that XZ Studios was forced to issue an apology to Weibo due to their inability to properly “guide” the fans and properly “influence” them, at the end of the day, the blame truly resides with the fans and antis themselves for their own shitty behavior. The blame also actually resides with Weibo, seeing as it is their platform. Weibo user accounts are the property of Weibo, and therefore any shitty behavior that continues out of hand on Weibo’s platform should have been addressed by Weibo.
The very fact that XZ Studios actually was forced to apologize to Weibo due to mounting sociopolitical pressure was actually outrageous. Weibo is the party responsible for monitoring and moderating the content that appears on their own website. Weibo is also the party that should be properly managing the community and its users. To believe that a small management company would be able to somehow manage and oversee millions and millions of accounts that they are not even legally responsible for is completely unacceptable and beyond ludicrous. This is the equivalent of if Twitter or Facebook were to say that Donald Trump is legally responsible for the actions of his cultish following and must apologize for their shitty, violent behavior.
Entertainment stakeholders have no legal power over fans. What they can actually do is limited to PR statements, legal action, and reporting any sort of activity they see that targets their own accounts. While it is true that XZ has immense cultural power over his fans, there is also only so much he can do as an artist. And not everyone is necessarily going to listen, even if he does put out a statement.
What I’m about to say next is not going to be a popular opinion, and I will probably catch some flack for it, but I’m saying this as someone who has unfortunately had to manage a few pretty significant PR crises in the past with several different idols, so this is definitely in my professional wheelhouse. From a PR point of view, XZ Studio is honestly abysmal at handling PR crises and at communications in general. They need to replace whoever runs their PR and marketing with someone who is more adept at communications, social media management, and crisis management. While I don’t think this individual is to blame for the shitty actions of fans or antis, I do think that their failure to act was definitely a contributing factor of escalating drama.
In terms of Yuehua, seeing as WYB was not the target of the crisis, there is nothing Yuehua could have done, or should have done. They were wise to not get involved at all, seeing as their artist wasn’t the one losing contracts. Not commenting on the matter was the right choice here.
As for the “black smear” side of the industry and toxic fans/antis - I think that all of it is incredibly shameful and morally repugnant. I do not know how any of these individuals were raised or what kind of values they have. It’s as though they never had any proper schooling on how to appropriately behave in society and they should all be ashamed of themselves, especially if they are grown ass adults behaving so amorally and unethically without any thought of the very real consequences of their malicious actions. I’m pretty happy that WYB is actually taking legal action against these pieces of human shit, and truly hope that XZ also does the same. All of these people should be fined heavily and/or face criminal action for extreme defamation and harassment.
If this were the United States, Weibo would also be penalized heavily for allowing this sort of defamation and harassment to continue on their platform with literally no checks or balances. But unfortunately, this is China and not the United States, and there are no such protections in place for anyone who is not a government official.

You hated Bakugou Katsuki with every single fiber of your body. Yes, at the moment, you were running around on the streets, trying to find the site at which Bakugou was currently fighting a villain. You had finally taken it upon yourself to stop the angry blond from ruining his reputation any further by intervening whenever he had to deal with the press. Which basically meant, you had to track him during his patrols, find out where the hell he is fighting a villain and be there to stop him from running his mouth. Thanks to that, the press has now recognized as ‘the mom assistant’ as the news articles said, much to Bakugou’s irritation.
“Bakugou-kun!” you yelled, catching the blonde’s attention as he was close to starting an argument with the reporter talking to him. “Why the fuck do you always have to butt in?” Bakugou yelled at you, clearly furious, possibly because of something the reporter said. “Well, cause you need to keep your mouth in check!” you snapped at him before smiling at the reporter and saying, “Sorry sir, we’ll have to cut this short” and pulled Bakugou out of the crowd. “Stop pulling me dimwit!” Bakugou barked, yet letting you take him away despite his ability to yank you off. “Well, do you think Deku-san is gonna yell at reporters? Why do you think you never cross him at the popularity poll? Fan votes aren’t everything you know. We both want you to be the number 1, Bakugou-kun” you lectured him, something that worked every single time somehow.
Bakugou only let out a small grunt in reply, liking the fact that you always told him that you wanted him to be the number 1. In fact, he started the argument with the reporter only to have you lecture him. He had been causing way more trouble for you than usual just to hear you say how much you want him to be the number 1, since his ego, which was as big as an entire dinosaur, did not allow him to just ask you to praise him. Little did he know, it only made you more overworked, more frustrated with him.
Yes, you were absolutely hopeless on how to deal with his PR issues. The fact that you had a rather personal connection to his antics did not help either. You were wondering whether your plan to spend more time with him was a mistake, but, you did not have the heart to stop all that meaningless cooking sessions, which were not really cooking sessions anymore, but more like just hanging out together at your apartment, watching random stuff on the TV while eating whatever food he helped you cook up. Sometimes, he would ask you to show up at his regular gym with food and you would just wait there and watch him work out. The two of you would talk, and sometimes he would help you work out as well since “you can’t possibly protect yourself with that noodle arms dumbass!”.
You were at home, at 12am, thinking about possible solutions to handling a way more troublesome Bakugou, when you got a call from the team leader of his PR team. “What the fuck did he do again?” you wondered as you picked the call up. “What did he do now?” you asked, frustration clear in his voice. “Check Chargebolt’s Instagram. We are currently contacting his PR team to take down the post but seems like Chargebolt hacked into it pretty well. I’m surprised that someone as dumb as him was able to do something like that. I need you to find Bakugou and Chargebolt and get rid of the post before any further damage is done.” Was all he said before hanging up. “Damn, it must be bad…” you muttered as you got into Chargebolt’s profile. And damn, it really was bad.
The picture was of a very drunk Bakugou, who was smiling smugly at the camera. However, that wasn’t the bad part. The bad part was the two girls on both his laps, two girls who had claimed to have slept with Bakugou in the past, something you had a hard time handling, both as an assistant and as someone who was unfortunate enough to be in love with Bakugou Katsuki himself. “OH, HELL NO! NOT ON MY WATCH!” You gritted your teeth, obviously tired of his bullshit, as you slipped into some decent clothes and ran to catch the train closest to the address of nightclub that his PR team texted you about.
As soon as you reached, the bouncer stopped you, as he thought that you were a random civilian trying to get into the heroes only club. “I’m Bakugou Katsuki’s assistant. I’ve got my ID card. I need to talk to him urgently.” You told him, showing your ID card. “I’m sorry ma’am, I’m not allowed to let anyone who’s not a hero in.” the bouncer answered calmly. “Well, then I’m sorry about this.” You muttered before making a run towards the entrance, without giving the bouncer the chance to catch you. For once, you were thankful to your brat of a boss for making sure you had the stamina to run fast, thanks to tracking him all over the city for the last few months.
Thankfully, you found him quite fast, still with those two obnoxious fangirls as you charged towards him. “BAKUGOU FUCKING KATSUKI, WE NEED TO FUCKING TALK!” You snarled at him. “Damnnnn, you get all the hotties don’tcha Kacchan?” you heard Chargebolt laugh from a chair nearby, having a drink. “What the fuck are you doing here?” Bakugou asked, not even hiding the blush as he found you being angry immensely attractive. However, you were not looking at him at the moment. In fact, you were glaring so hard at Kaminari that if you had an eye lazer quirk, he’d be dead five times over.
“You, delete that fucking post. NOW!” you scolded the now scared lightening hero. “Damn… Okay okay I’m doing it jeez! You’re scarier than Bakugou wtf?” Kaminari chuckled nervously as he deleted the post with shaky hands. “Good. I’ll make sure your PR team gives you hell if you pull any shit like this again.” You gave the nervous man one last glare before directing all your wrath to Bakugou.
For once, he was smart enough to ditch the fangirls, knowing very well that pissing you off now would not end well, no matter how hot you look at the moment. “You, are coming with me.” You told him quietly, venom in your voice. The bouncer finally found you at that moment and tried to apologize to Bakugou about letting you in, however, Bakugou muttering a small “it’s fine” to him told him all about you in an instant. The pro hero never spoke quietly, which only meant that you must be important enough to interrupt his night.
“You’re too drunk to drive. Gimme your keys.” You muttered as you got out of the club with a rather tame looking Bakugou. “You can drive?” he asked, to which you snapped, “Just cause I don’t have a car doesn’t mean I can’t drive, asshole!”. To that, he simply handed over the keys to his Lamborghini to you, which you used to unlock his car and get in. Bakugou got into the passenger’s seat and after a brief moment of uncomfortable silence, he asked, “So, where are we going?” to which you answered, “your penthouse.”. “How the fuck do you know my address?” he asked. “I’m your assistant, Bakugou.” You answered, not looking at him.
The rest of the ride passed in a tense silence as you finally reached the parking lot of his penthouse. After putting his car in the designated area, you decided that enough was enough. You did not want to deal with these feelings anymore. You did not want to deal with situations where he looked at other women the way you wanted him to look at you. You decided that you should rip the bandage then and there. “Bakugou, I wanna quit the job. I’ll bring the resignation letter tomorrow.” You muttered.
To say that Bakugou was in shock was an understatement. “What? What the fuck? Why?” he asked, not hiding the hurt expression on his face. “I can’t take this anymore. Do you even realize how much trouble you cause? Why did I have to show up at a random high class night club today, run from the bouncer, shout at another top pro hero to delete YOUR picture with some random women all because you can’t keep it in your pants? Why do you constantly cause all that PR nightmare? It’s only gotten worse since I started cooking for you. One moment, you try to show up at my home to hang out for no reason and then you go through all the effort to make life harder for me. What do you want from me, Bakugou? Have I done anything wrong? Honestly, this is exactly why Deku is the number 1 hero and you’re not. If I were Deku’s assistant, he wouldn’t have….” Your voice cracked but you were stopped by Bakugou.
“You’re not his assistant. Don’t fucking say good things about him. You’re mine, (Y/N). Not Deku’s, not anyone’s, but mine.” Bakugou growled possessively. “I’m not yours, Bakugou. Those girls you sleep with on a daily basis, they are yours. I don’t want to be with someone who fucks around with random women who throw themselves at them.” You snapped back and for once, Bakugou realized that he messed up.
At the beginning, Bakugou always did as he pleased as 1, his fans loved whatever the hell he did and 2, he got his dick wet so basically, it was always a win-win situation for him. After you fell into his life (quite literally), he found out that he should do as he pleases as 1, again, his fans loved whatever the hell he did and 2, his overinflated ego wouldn’t let him confess his feelings towards you, which is why, it started as him trying to deny his feelings by fucking someone else and later, when he realized that it wasn’t working, he stopped the fucking, but pretended that he didn’t stop it, assuming that you would get jealous and confess to him first. However, now he realized that he judged the situation completely wrong.
“I won’t change what I said, (L/N). You’re mine. I’m saying that, considering everything you just said to me.” Bakugou answered after a brief pause. “So, you’re trying to tell me that you did not sleep with anyone.” You asked him with a deadpan expression. “I stopped two months ago. Pikachu posted that picture because I asked him to. I wanted you to think that I didn’t stop. You can ask all my friends about it.” Bakugou muttered, looking clearly embarrassed. “And why the fuck would you want me to think you’re fucking around?” you asked him, clearly confused. “So that you confess first…” Bakugou muttered, looking away in embarrassment.
The two of you sat there in silence before you busted out laughing. “OI! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LAUGHING ABOUT?” Bakugou yelled at you, his face completely red, making you laugh even harder. “My God, you’re such a tsundere!” you somehow choked out before wheezing due to laughter. Bakugou just sat there like a sulking child till you were done laughing.
“So, you’re mine. That’s settled right?” Bakugou asked you grumpily, as soon as you caught your breath. “You know, out of all the ways I expected you to ask me out, this was definitely not something I expected, and yet, somehow, this sounds exactly like something you’d do.” You chuckled softly. Bakugou only grunted as an answer. A rather comfortable silence fell between the two of you before it was interrupted yet again by Bakugou.
“So, you didn’t say if it was settled or not.” He grumbled. “Yessir, it’s settled.” You answered. A moment later, he asked again, “So, you’re not leaving the job, right?”. “Nope, I’m not.” You answered. Another brief moment later, he demanded, “Tell me that I’m better than Deku.”. “I will, if you behave.” You answered with a smile, to which he replied, “Fuck you”. “Well, then I won’t call you better than Deku” you answered with a sickly-sweet smile, making him pop a vein on his forehead. “Say it!” he barked, only to have you reply, “Deku is better than…” before you were cut off by a kiss.
You absolutely hated Bakugou Katsuki. Yes, you totally hated the fact that he won your heart. Right.

PART 2
i.
Tumblr media
They both spoke at the same time.
“Ya Kang Sujin…”
“Ya Han Seojun…”
“What the hell happened?”
Seojun had been in a strange state of mind all day. First it was waking up in the enemy’s bed, but that part he had completely blocked out. Then it was the massive hangover, the effects of which he was still reeling from. On top of that he had received a scolding for being late to practice, which caused him to be late to his commercial shoot, which caused him to be late for his recording session which was when he had been informed about his scandal.
Seojun normally didn’t care for rumors that spread about him. He relied on his performance to speak for itself; the people online with their uninformed opinions didn’t matter.
“But why did it have to be her?!” He had groaned when he first read the articles. But then he asked himself seriously, “Why did it have to be her?”
It all seemed too convenient. Additionally, she had been the one to drag him for drinks and then back to her apartment.
Was this another one of her schemes? What would she gain from doing this? Maybe it was because he was on to her and could see the truth about her and now she wanted him gone. Yes, it must have been that. Or was it not? Was his theory too farfetched? Maybe he was being too harsh. Maybe he was misunderstanding the situation.
Seojun felt conflicted. On the one hand, it would have been so easy to just blame Sujin and keep on hating her like he wanted to. On the other hand, he could hear Suho in his head, warning him about being too judgmental. Seojun normally trusted his instincts with everything but this time his own instincts were confused. Should be giving Sujin the benefit of the doubt?
Seojun knew that if he needed answers, he would need to go to the source.
“What the hell happened?” They both asked each other at the same time but neither had the answer.
“How the hell would I know? It was your apartment.”
“The pictures were obviously taken by someone was obsessed with you.” Sujin fumed.
“Are you saying this is my fault?”
“Then are you saying it’s mine?”
“I’m not the one who took us out drinking then brought me back home to her apartment!”
“I’m not the one with the crazy saesangs!”
“My fans are not crazy! They are way better than arrogant women with a princess complex like you!”
“Don’t call me princess.” Sujin said dangerously.
“Or what? You’ll get me drunk and back at your apartment again?”
“Ah shut up, you man-child!” Sujin hung up and Seojun flung his phone across the room where it bounced onto the couch. He was seething.
“Aish!” Seojun kicked the air.
“Did you talk to Sujin?” Heekyung’s calm voice startled Seojun.
“What? Oh, Noona.” Seojun gulped.
“How was she? Was she okay?”
“Umm…” Seojun blinked
“She must have been shaken. Facing something like this can be very upsetting.”
Seojun’s shoulders deflated. “Uh, yeah…” He hadn’t considered that.
“Did she agree to give a statement to help clear up this mess?”
Oh right, I was supposed to ask her…
Heekyung continued, “I do have good news. We’ve found the person who took the photographs. So he won’t be sharing them with anyone else.”
“You have?”
“Yes. It was unfortunate. A photographer happened to be there, just as you were leaving. He actually recognized you from your voice. Talk about having bad luck.”
Seojun frowned. So, it wasn’t Sujin.
“So will Sujin do it? We just need a simple statement. She can release a post on her socials and we’ll take care of the media articles.”
Seojun rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “Um, I don’t think she’ll agree.” . Especially not after the blaming match that just happened. “Can’t we just clarify things on our end? Not get her involved?”
Heekyung smiled with a twinkle in her eye, “Oh I get it. You don’t want her to feel burdened.”
Seojun could tell what she was implying. “Ah-nee! Its not that at all!” His voice was pitched a little too high.
Heekyung laughed, “I’ve been at this for longer than you, Seojun-ah. You can be straight with me.”
“It’s not like that! I don’t care about Kang Sujin at all!”
But Heekyung wasn’t listening. “Just be careful. Your career has just started. You can’t afford scandals like these. People will turn against you in an instant, you know?”
Seojun swallowed. He knew all too well how people could turn against him in an instant, like the way thy did with Seyeon. But he wanted to believe that he would be able to face them.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be careful.”
Heekyung nodded. “Good. Now I’ll go tell our PR team to release a statement about you and Sujin being just friends.” Seojun nodded gratefully. “I think the fact that you went to school together will help. Hopefully people will buy it when you tell them nothing happened between you two.” Heekyung winked as she walked away.
“It’s not like that!” Seojun called after her.
ii.
Tumblr media
The situation subsided as quickly as it had risen. Move Entertainment published their official statement about how it was all a misunderstanding. That Seojun had only been visiting his friend from high school and the fact that the friend was also a mutual with rising online beauty guru Lim Jukyung helped establish the connection. Seojun had been glad that Jukyung had taken those selfies with Sujin with Seojun in the background otherwise people might have just taken the statement as an excuse.
What annoyed Seojun about the whole situation was not his reputation or the online speculation but how everyone else kept teasing him about it. This was made especially worse when they were all gathered around for drinks, including his own squad, Chorong and Co., who were eyeing Sujin with a mixture of adoration—that made them stare at her, and fear—that kept them from talking to her.
“Ooh, Han Seojun you better not drink too much or you’ll end up in Sujin’s apartment again.” Taehoon teased. Seojun gave him the death glare while Sujin made a disgusted face. Everyone else laughed.
“Guys! Don’t be mean.” Jukyung’s voice went unheard among the collective chatter.
“Han Seojun, I can see you’ve been keeping a very close eye on Kang Sujin.” Chorong whispered in his ear. Seojun elbowed his ribs.
“Pay up, Sujin didn’t kill him.” Suho asked from Suah.
“You guys had a bet?” Sujin asked icily. Seojun almost admired the scathing look Sujin gave Suho as she eyed the money being exchanged.
Suho’s and Suah’s hands froze right when they were exchanging the bills.
“No?” Suho said weakly.
“Kang Su, I bet on you okay?” Suah defended.
“Ah is that so? Well then you’re off the hook.”
Suah relaxed while Suho blinked forty times, sweating. “Kang Sujin. It was just a joke okay?”
Sujin just put her hand forward and Suho silently put the money in her hands.
“Wah, just 5 dollars? I’m worth 5 million you know.”
“Sure you are. And I’m the King of England.” Seojun said under his breath. Kang Sujin and her princess complex.
“What was that?” Sujin put her hand to her ear, “I’m sorry. I couldn’t hear you over the apology you owe me.”
“What apology? I owe you nothing.” Seojun retorted, fully aware that he had actually come to this gathering to apologize to Sujin about the scandal and how he had behaved over the phone. That plan had since been abandoned.
For some reason, he could not spit out the three words ‘I am sorry’ to Kang Sujin. No matter how much he wanted to. There was just something about her that irritated him to the point of misbehavior.
Sujin clicked her tongue at Seojun but said nothing. Instead, reaching into her bag, she pulled out a notebook and a pen.
“Here, sign this.” She ordered, pushing the notebook and pen in his face.
“What is it?”
For Kang Sujin, the biggest issue from the scandal had not been the online noteriety and not even the teasing, but the fact that everyone in her office now knew that she was friends with an idol and had demanded that she get them his autographs.
“Its for my friends at work.”
“You have friends?” Seojun said with mock surprise.
“You know I was just as shocked to learn that you have actual fans. I always thought Suho was the one buying all your albums.” Sujin said.
“Of course I have fans! I am super popular you know!” Seojun defended, pulling the lapels of his jacket with pride.
“Yes I’m sure you’re veeeery popular.” Sujin’s words dripped with sarcasm. Seojun’s pride deflated like a balloon. “Just sign. And write something nice too.” She ordered. Seojun quietly picked up the notebook, not because he was nice but because he felt he owed her this much.
“You know my autographs are worth a lot of money, right?”
Sujin made a face. “Just sign the damn thing so that the girls at work stop harassing me about you.”
Seojun smiled as he signed. His fans were awesome. “How many?” He asked.
“Seven.”
He signed seven pages, each with a personalized note.
“Be nice to my fans at work.”
“I’m always nice.”
“Sure you are.” Seojun replied skeptically. He handed Sujin the notebook. “I better not find you selling these online.” He warned.
“I’d rather starve than live off of your autographs.” Sujin bit back.
“Okay, okay! No more fighting!” Jukyung pointed between the two. “Lets all enjoy our drinks in peace.” She looked pointedly at Sujin who pointed her chin at Seojun with a ‘he-started-it’ scowl.
“Han Seo, is it okay for you to meet us in public like this?” Suah asked. They weren’t in the usual private dining area that they frequented when it was just the core group of friends. They were out where everyone could see.
“We can always hang out at our place, if you want.” Suho offered. Seojun quickly shook his head. Seeing Suho and Jukyung together outside was one thing. Seeing how they lived together was quite another. Knowing they lived together was painful enough. He didn’t want even more fuel for his imagination.
“Its no trouble at all.” He put on a smile for Suho who seemed satisfied. But, to his surprise, he found Kang Sujin giving him a strange look. She chuckled to herself but said nothing.
As they all said their goodbyes, Seojun went out the back so that he could leave in privacy. He planned on taking the long route today. A bike ride would help him clear his mind.
“Han Seojun, wait up!”
He stopped just as he was about to put his helmet on. He was surprised to find Sujin there.
“What? Need more autographs?” He asked, cockily smiling.
Sujin made a sickened expression. “Not at all. I just… I had something to say.” She hesitated.
“Well say it.”
She cleared her throat. “It was neither of our faults. The scandal. It wasn’t that it was my building or your fans. It was someone shitty who didn’t respect our privacy. That’s… that’s all I wanted to say.”
Sujin waited for his response. Seojun could feel his face burning. He should have been the one to say all this to her, and yet here she was apologizing to him instead.
“I’msorryforwhathappened.” He said too quickly and too quietly.
“What?”
“Nothing!” Seojun shoved his helmet on to hide his embarrassed face.
“Drive safe.” Sujin said.
“Yeah, whatever.” He rode away.
Kang Sujin was just glad she was able to spit out the words she had been meaning to say all night long. It had been weighing on her ever since they had spoken on the phone. She had promised herself a long time ago that she would try to be a nicer person and for the most part she had accomplished that. But that Han Seojun just had a way of bringing her old self back to the surface. And that bothered her.
It doesn’t matter, she told herself. She would learn how to get along with Han Seojun. It was only a matter of practice. And besides, it wasn’t as if she had to be overtly obvious about it. She just had to tolerate him.
For Jukyung. It’s for Jukyung. She would want us to get along, she lied to herself. The truth was, that Kang Sujin believed that she didn’t have a choice.
Everyone loved Han Seojun, even her best friends who had never paid much attention to him back in high school. It was all because Sujin had been absent for so long. She had missed a huge part of everyone’s lives while Han Seojun had been there for all of it.
Sujin wondered whether, if it came to choosing between her and Seojun, they would choose her. A part of her believed they wouldn’t.
She had made such a mess of things before and left things unresolved for too long. She was certain that things would never go back to the way they had been, not fully anyway. There would always be a part of them that wouldn’t trust her. And there would always be a part of her that would be heavy with guilt.
“Ah-nee-ya.” She reassured herself. “I don’t need to worry about this.”
She was glad that the whole matter of being mistaken as Han Seojun’s girlfriend had been settled. She laughed at the very idea.
“Me and Han Seojun dating. Ah, how funny.”
Sujin had heard of horror stories about how such scandals ruined people’s lives and got them shunned by society. Thank fully, none of that had happened. Her precious peace was safe again.
Sujin could see her future now; a life where she worked hard at her non-profit, where she shared dinners and lunches with her friends and laughed about the old days, where she wasn’t told she wasn’t good enough, where she did what she wanted instead of being forced to do what her father wanted. Yes, Kang Sujin could see her like ahead—a life where she was finally happy.
iii.
Tumblr media
At first Sujin thought she was being paranoid. But her co-workers seemed to be acting stand-offish with her, with some outright avoiding her. They weren’t replying to her as enthusiastically they used to and were having hushed conversations that immediately stopped when she approached them. They even made plans for lunch without including her.
“Is something wrong?” Sujin asked one of them.
“Not at all. Shall we get to work?” It sounded more like a snub than reassurance.
Sujin also felt the hairs on her neck rise from time to time, as if she could feel someone watching her. But when she turned around, everyone would look away.
Convincing herself that it was all in her head, Sujin ignored it and went on with her work.
But then it happened again at the convenience store. She heard her name being said in whispers behind her. When she turned, she found a couple of teenagers quickly putting away their phone. Despite the anxiety bubbling in her stomach, Sujin dismissed the incident and went home.
Normally after a long day at work, Sujin would throw her phone away, have dinner while watching TV, shower and go to sleep. But today had been strange and she was feeling out of sorts. She needed a distraction to help her calm down.
So, after a shower, she settled back on her couch with her dinner and her phone. Jukyung normally posted a new make-up tutorial by this day of the week. Sujin loved watching her transform herself from an ordinary looking girl to a stunning beauty, while explaining each step.
To Kang Sujin, Jukyung was an artist who used her face as a canvas. Sujin herself had learned a lot just from watching Jukyung. She was excited about what she would learn today.
Sujin dismissed the dozens of Instagram notifications on her phone. Suah was always tagging her and messaging her about some post or the other. Sujin would get to them later. As Sujin searched for Jukyung’s channel, her Instagram notifications kept dinging. She put it on mute and played the video.
This time, Jukyung was giving a tutorial on American style makeup and how it was different from Korean style. Sujin grinned all the way through the video as Jukyung talked through her tutorial. Sujin scrolled through the comments as she watched.
My beauty Queen! I love you!
I tried your winged liner look and was able to finally do it for myself. Thank you.
I use the exact same foundation but it doesn’t work for my skin. But looks great on you. <3
You didn’t mention the eyeliner you used here. Can you please add it in the description?
This is why I have trust issues. She looks like a completely different person. This is fraud.
Sujin frowned at the last comment. “She looks beautiful either way.” She said angrily aloud as she typed it in, punching the buttons as if she could punch the commentor. Sujin scrolled further.
Who else came here after reading the Soompi article?
This comment had a lot of likes and comments. Maybe Jukyung was getting famous enough to be reported by entertainment websites now. Sujin smiled proudly.
Lim Jukyung, yours is the best makeup channel here!
Saranghae unnie
I was so sad to learn that you were bullied as a kid. So glad that you’ve found success now.
Sujin swallowed thickly. It would always bother her to know that she had once exploited Jukyung’s past bullying for her own gain. The fact that she had once contributed to her bullying would always fuel Sujin’s self hatred. She was just glad that Jukyung had moved on from her past and had become confident in herself. And more so, had found a community online that adored her.
As Sujin scrolled down some more, she noticed that most of the comments were talking about how Jukyung was a survivor of bullying.
“Mwo-ya…”
Wow, I had no idea this girl was so brave. Bravo!!!
I’m a survivor of bullying too. Its nice to know I’m not alone.
I bet her bully is watching this now and regretting what they did.
I don’t watch makeup tutorials. Came here cuz of the bullying scandal. But stayed cuz she is so good.
The last comment made Sujin stop. “Bullying scandal?”
Sujin went to Naver and searched for scandals involving Lim Jukyung. The first few links were Jukyung’s most popular videos but beneath that were a slew of articles from slanderous gossip sites.
Girl from Han Seojun Scandal Turns Out to be a Bully
Online Star Lim Jukyung Gets Involved in Han Seojun Scandal
Han Seojun’s Alleged Girlfriend was a Bully in High School
“What?!” Sujin stood up on her feet in shock. With shaking hands, she went through the articles one by one. Somehow, someone had uncovered the post from her high school community page that had revealed what she had done to Jukyung. Except they had gotten their facts mixed up and had reported that Sujin had been the one to bully Lim Jukyung about her looks.
That girl is so despicable.
Han Seojun is hanging out with a girl like her? I can’t believe it. I actually used to like him.
I bet this girl seduced Oppa. Don’t dislike him!
I am so glad they’re not actually dating.
Her face is so evil. And she’s uglier than Lim Jukyung!
I bet Han Seojun was fooled by her. She feels like the type who uses her looks to manipulate men.
People like her should kill themselves.
Guys! I found her Inssa!
It really is her! This is authentic!
The room began to close in on Sujin. She immediately opened Instagram where her account was flooded with comments and direct messages from people either telling her to kill herself or threatening to kill her.
Her heart was beating so fast it felt like she would throw it up. She was equal parts shaken and angry. So many people were after her but she hated that these people felt they had a right to treat her this way.
Sujin opened up the messages on Instagram and began firing back to her haters, starting with the most recent messages.
Get off of my account before I report you.
No thanks, I’m not going to kill myself.
Threatening me will only get you sued.
You don’t have to follow me if you don’t like me.
“These assholes think they can bully me online? Well, they’ve got another thing coming.” Sujin growled through clenched teeth as she typed away with all her anger.
I did not bully her!
I made a mistake!
I apologized!
People immediately started responding.
You’re not even going to admit your mistake?
OMG! I can’t believe you actually replied!
Are you honestly defending what you did?
You can’t talk like that to me! I’m going to tell everyone you’re a total b****
How can you be so audacious after you bullied someone? Just kill yourself.
Do us all a favor and kill yourself.
Kill yourself.
KILL YOURSELF.
Sujin screamed in frustration and threw her phone away. It smashed into the wall and landed with a sickening thud. Her hands suddenly felt clammy. Clammy and sticky and sweaty and dirty, dirty, dirty. So dirty that they smelled.
She ran into the bathroom and furiously scrubbed her hands clean. Once, twice, three times. No matter how many times she washed or how hard she scrubbed, the dirty stench of the hate she had just received wouldn’t wash off.
Her hands became all red and felt raw and exposed. But she kept on washing till she ran out of soap. She fell to the floor, suddenly weak and exhausted. The cool tiles felt nice and it was then that she noticed how hot she felt.
Calm down. I have to calm down. She breathed in, then out. In, then out. She could hear her heart in her ears. Pounding and pounding. The walls were closing in. The messages on her Instagram suddenly had voices that shouted in her mind.
Kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself.
A ringing broke through it all. First Sujin thought it was in her head but no, it was from the living room.
Her cellphone. Lim Jukyung was calling.
How could she face Jukyung? What would she say to her? Wouldn’t Jukyung say the same as everyone else?
Sujin cut the call. Notifications from Instagram were still coming in. She deactivated her account and deleted the app.
Lim Jukyung’s name lit up her phone again.
She turned it off and flopped down on her sofa, head pounding.
Her fragile little hope for a good life was now shattered completely. She could hear her father now. Hear him yell at her that she was useless, that she was pathetic, that she was stupid and inferior. Unable to beat even Lee Suho.
Kill yourself.
Her father had never told her this, but he might as well have. Even now it was his voice saying it over and over in her mind. It was his angry stare she felt on her back.
How would she face people now? People would hate her now that they knew what she had done. And her co-workers…. Of course they knew. That’s why everyone had been acting so strange.
This all felt so cruel and unfair. She had been so good these past couple of years. She didn’t want all of it to just be taken away like this.
But didn’t you do the same thing to Jukyung? Her father’s voice taunted. She was a good person too, wasn’t she? You’re nothing but a piece of trash.
I bet you think that you destroyed Lim Jukyung, Seojun’s voice said, but you’ve only destroyed yourself.
iv.
SUMMARY of iii: Because of the Han Seojun scandal, people find out about the community post that revealed what Sujin had done to Jukyung and people online start thinking that Sujin bullied Jukyung. They harrass her and it becomes a scandal of its own.
Tumblr media
It was chaos at Move Entertainment.
“What the hell happened?! You told me you settled this!” The director threw a magazine in Heekyung’s face. Seojun saw this through the glass door and barged in.
“Is that how you treat your employees?” He demanded angrily.
“Get out. Get. Him. Out! Get him out of this company for good measure!”
Heekyung pushed Seojun out before he could do anything else, dragging him as far away as possible. “Don’t be an idiot. You can’t just barge in like that.”
“But he’s being an asshole. Should I just stand around and let you take it?”
“This is the adult world Han Seojun. Actions have consequences here.” Heekyung said reasonably. “And you’re the reason he’s so mad. A bullying scandal is serious. We’ve even publicly acknowledged that you and Sujin are friends. This doesn’t reflect well on you.”
“The articles are lying. Sujin didn’t bully Jukyung in high school. She just—”
“I know exactly what she did. You think I don’t know about what happened to my own sister?” For a brief moment, Heekyung’s professional demeanor slipped into anger. But she recovered quickly. “It infuriates me that my sister’s past is being brought up like this. But I have a job to do and I need you to cooperate with me. Okay?”
Seojun exhaled. “What are we going to do?”
“Nothing. The situation will sort itself out. You will need to keep a low profile, however.”
Seojun exhaled. “Noona, we need to set the record straight. Sujin is—”
“Sujin isn’t represented by Move, you are. None of us here can do anything about what is happening to her.”
Seojun clenched his jaw. “Have you seen what is being said about her?”
Heekyung looked away. “Its not like I enjoy saying this. I’m only telling you what I was told when I made the same request. She’s not represented by us. She’s not our concern.”
“Was Seyeon not your concern either?”
Heekyung had nothing to say to that. “I have to go back in. You stay here, arachi? Don’t do anything rash and…” she yanked Seojun’s phone from his hand.
“Ah!” Seojun tried to get it but Heekyung had the phone out of reach.
“I’m keeping this for now.” She said and left.
Seojun exclaimed in frustration, running his hands through his hair. Despite the animosity he had towards Kang Sujin, this kind of exposure to such vitriol online didn’t sit well with him. Kang Sujin deserved a lot of things, but she didn’t deserve this.
He knew Sujin was tough. But this kind of incident would make anyone crumble. He just hoped she didn’t do anything stupid.

“Sujin-ah. Can you explain your side of things?”
Of course her office had heard about everything. Apparently her past misdeeds were a trending topic online. Her supervisor had called her in as soon as Sujin had shown up.
“Can you tell me what happened?” Her supervisor asked.
Sujin inhaled, “When I was in high school, I fell in love with a boy. But he had a girlfriend… she was a friend of mine. I got jealous… and petty. I published an unflattering video of her on our school’s online community. She had been bullied in her previous school because of her looks. So the video was especially traumatizing to her. I was responsible for what happened in Saebom High, but I wasn’t involved in anything that happened before that.”
Sujin looked at her hands, still red and raw, “I have made up with her since then. I’ve apologized. We’re both friends now. And I’m not a teenager anymore.”
Something stung Sujin’s hand. Water droplets? No, tears. She hadn’t noticed when she had started crying. But she kept her face straight even when the tears didn’t stop. She looked at her supervisor.
“I am ashamed of what I did. If I could take it all back… you have no idea what I would do to take it all back.” Sujin furiously wiped away her tears. She hated crying in front of anyone. “I love working here. I really do.”
Even as she was saying the words, she knew what was coming. Of course her company wouldn’t keep her on. Even non-profits couldn’t afford bad reputations and the fact that Move Entertainment had worked with her company for a lot of benefits hadn’t escaped her notice either.
“Sujin-ah.” Her co-worker said, peeking from the cubicle wall as Sujin packed up her things.
“What?”
“I never thanked you. For getting me Han Seojun’s signature.” The woman said meekly.
Sujin gave a small smile. “You’re welcome.”
The woman handed her a bunch of sticky notes. “These are goodbyes from everyone. We know you’re not getting a farewell party so we thought you should have our thoughts with you.”
Sujin looked down at the brightly colored notes that contained encouraging messages from some of her co-workers. Her dismissal had been so swift that she hadn’t even been given the chance to say anything.
“If its worth anything… I don’t believe any of it.”
Sujin smiled gratefully this time. “Thanks, Chulhee-yah. I appreciate it.”
vi.
Tumblr media
Sujin was both grateful and surprised by how much her friends had reached out. Apparently they had showed up to her place multiple times to see if she was okay, given that she was not answering any of her calls. Sadly, Sujin had not been there to receive them. She had gone to her aunt’s place to get away from everything.
That had not proved to be a good idea.
“Have. You. Lost. Your. Mind!!” Each word was punctuated with a smack from a slipper. Her mother, the once elegant and graceful Mrs. Kang, chased her daughter around in the most inelegant and ungraceful manner. Mrs. Kang’s sister tried to save Sujin by stepping in between but Mrs. Kang still managed to get a few whacks in.
“How could you let a boy stay over at your place?!”
“Omma! That’s what you choose to focus on?!”
“Yes! How could you have disgraced your family this way? And not just any boy, an idol? What the hell were you doing with an idol? Come here.”
This was one fight Sujin would never win. Her mother was not a force of reason when she was this angry. And it took a lot for her to get this angry.
Sujin didn’t mind these smacks. They came from a place of love and worry. Eventually her mother calmed down enough to address the other issue with Sujin. She took her daughter in her arms and wailed.
“How could those people be so mean to my daughter?”
“Omma, I can’t breathe.” Her mother smushed Sujin to herself.
“My poor girl. My poor baby girl.”
In the end, Sujin was glad she had come back to her aunt’s place. It gave her the break she had needed. Away from all of the noise of her online haters, Sujin found she could finally breathe. She found great comfort in her mother’s arms and her aunt’s assurances her that everything would be fine.
However, the dread of returning to her normal life still loomed over her head. Sujin felt her throat close up every time she imagined going back to her apartment. Would the people point and laugh at her on the street? Would she be able to live a normal life from now on?
It was strange how deeply all of this had affected her. Even now, as Sujin walked from the grocery store to her aunt’s house, she felt the paranoia that people were talking about her, pointing and laughing, even though they weren’t.
“Sujin-ah.”
And now it felt like they were actually calling out to her.
“Kang Su!”
Sujin turned in surprise, ready to fight whoever had called her. “Who is it?”
“Who do you think? It’s Jukyungie! ” A human mass known as Lim Jukyung ran towards Kang Sujin with arms wide open. The girls hugged each other tightly, Jukyung grinning with her gummy smile while Sujin stood, mouth open in shock.
Not far behind, were Suah and Taehoon.
“Ya Kang Su, at least answer your phone! Do you know how worried I was?” Suah scolded.
Sujin laughed, almost tearing up. She couldn’t believe this was happening. She had feared that her friends would turn away and curse at her after she had avoided them. But here they were, all gathered just for her.
“How’d you find me?” She asked the three. They all turned to Suho who stood there smiling.
“Hey Sujin. Have you been well?”
Of course, Suho knew where her aunt lived.
“What well? You all know what happened.” Sujin replied, not bothering to pretend that she was fine.
“Ya! What have you done to your hands.” Jukyung held up Sujin’s scabby hands with worry.
“It’ll heal.” Sujin smiled. Maybe it was the massive hug she had received, or the fact that her friends had traveled so far away to meet her, but suddenly, Sujin felt relieved. It was as if the entire situation was trivial and that she could see light at the end of the tunnel.
“Of course we know what happened.” Suho replied.
“And we know exactly how to fix it.” Jukyung grinned wider.
vii.
On the screen, in front of a ring light she had set up at her home, Lim Jukyung stood with a gummy smile and a warm welcome.
“Ahn-nyong-se-yo everyone. This is Lim Jukyung here with a new make up tutorial for all of my beautiful viewers. Uh, today I have a new kind of tutorial for you all. But before we begin, there is something that I think has been on all of our minds that needs to be addressed.”
Jukyung motioned to someone standing behind the camera to come forward. Kang Sujin entered the frame awkwardly, not knowing where exactly to look. The way Jukyung had set up her studio for this live event was to have the camera, the mirror with the ring light and her laptop screen facing her so that she could do her make up while also reading the comments. And while Jukyung was used to having all of this equipment focused on her, Sujin was not.
“Introduce yourself.” Jukyung said softly, nudging Sujin with her elbow.
“Ah, yes.” Sujin cleared her throat. “Ahn-nyong-se-yo everyone. I’m Kang Sujin.” She waved robotically while staring in the camera like a deer caught in the headlights.
Jukyung couldn’t help but laugh. “Ya, Kang Su, are you afraid of the camera?”
“Ah-neeeee, it’s just so unnatural.” Sujin quickly countered.
“Don’t worry, the camera doesn’t bite.” Jukyung put an arm around her friend’s waist. “Okay everyone now that my friend Kang Sujin is here we can talk about the recent—”
“Lim Ju, maybe we shouldn’t do this.” Sujin interrupted anxiously.
“Huh? But it’s already live.” Jukyung pointed at the camera.
“What?” Sujin on in panic.
Jukyung continued, “So everyone, as you all may have heard, Sujin and I went to the same high school together. However, before that I attended another high school where I was bullied for my looks. Sujin and I did not know each other back then and she had nothing to do with that part of my life so the allegations that she bullied me are completely false. That was another person and that person is no longer in my life.”
Sujin cut in, “However, it is true that I revealed Jukyung’s past to our school and posted an unflattering video of her online.”
Jukyung nodded, looking serious. “I won’t lie and say it was easy for me to have that happen. But… both of us have changed since then. We have grown up and grown past that time.”
The girls took each other’s hands in solidarity.
Jukyung continued, “I’m not the girl I used to be. Neither is Sujin. And while she did do something wrong… I’ve forgiven her. I would rather remember the good times we shared…” The time that Sujin caught that pervert, the time she helped rescue Jukyung from those kidnappers, the time she helped hide Jukyung’s bare face at the school trip. “There are things that I wish I had done differently too. I wish had been more confident in myself and honest about who I really was. I wish I had stood up for myself earlier. But the past is the past, and I would rather focus on the present.”
“Everyone, I am grateful for all of the love and support you showed to me. I know bullying isn’t something you get over easily and I saw a lot of you comment about the bullying that you suffered. I am grateful you shared your stories with me. I hope we can take this opportunity to help each other heal rather than put someone down.” Jukyung looked at Sujin. “Now you.”
Sujin recited nervously, “Ah. Ahn-nyong-se-yo everyone. I’m Kang Sujin.”
Jukyung giggled. “We’ve done that already.”
“Oh, yes. Um… I uh…” Sujin took a pause to collect herself. “Let me be the first to say that I’m not a nice person—”
“Yah!” Jukyung protested but Sujin carried on.
“But I’m also not the girl who posted that video about her best friend, not anymore. At that time… I was foolish. I let my personal problems cloud my judgement and I took my frustration and anger out on Lim Jukyung. I have regretted doing that every single day since it happened. I am sorry. I understand everyone’s anger towards me. I would be angry too if I heard this about someone else. However, I hope that you all will be able to forgive me, as Jukyung has.”
Sujin ended her speech with an apologetic bow. Jukyung bowed with her. The girls then shared a tearful hug. From the back, Sujin saw Suho give her a thumbs up. Sujin sent him a smile back. The girls parted, wiping their tears.
“Okay! Now that that’s out of the way, we can get on to the real reason why you are on here.” Jukyung clasped her hands together. “Sujin will be assisting me today.”
“Ah, yes.”
“So Kang Su, shall we bring out our model today?” Jukyung asked her with a mischievous gleam in her eye.
The girls nodded conspiratorially before turning to Suho who looked on, confused.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?”

“What is it? What are you laughing at?” Chorong asked Seojun as he leaned over his shoulder. They were at Chorong’s place where the boys were goofing off, playing video games and lounging about.
Seojun didn’t hear Chorong’s inquiry through his ear buds and kept on shaking with silent laughter.
“Hey, nobody said anything about me being in the video.” Suho was protesting on Seojun’s phone. Seojun turned up the volume to hear Suho’s annoyed grumbling more clearly. Of course, Seojun was going to make fun of Suho about this afterwards.
“Just sit down, Lee Su, before I get mad.” Sujin commanded.
“That attitude of yours has never worked on me,” Suho replied coolly.
“Come on, Suho-ya. I do your makeup all the time don’t I? It’ll be fine. I promise.” Of course, when Jukyung said this, Suho melted like butter on a hot pan. Sujin rolled her eyes but it was clear that it wasn’t out of spite.
“Okay everyone! Let’s begin with the base and then we’ll work our way up! I am going to keep this look as natural as possible so that its not modifying anything but merely enhancing his features.” Jukyung pushed Suho’s bangs out of his forehead with a giant pink bow shaped clip. Seojun was quick to get a screen shot of it.
“What are Lee Suho and Kang Sujin doing on Jukyung’s channel?” Chorong asked in Seojun’s ear, shocking him. Seojun almost screamed in fear. He pushed away Chorong’s face to watch the video in peace.
In the live video, Jukyung was explaining the differences of applying make up on a guy’s face, versus a girl’s face.
“Sujin-ah. Why don’t you read some of the comments while I’m buffing in his foundation? You have to buff it in for a long time to make it appear natural.” Jukyung told her audience.
Sujin moved towards the camera, blocking Jukyung a little as she read off of her laptop. Her unfiltered face was front and center for the world to see. At this position it looked unflattering, which made Seojun chuckle even more.
Sujin read the comments in a robotic monotone, “Jukyung Unnie, I don’t usually watch make up tutorials. But after today I’m your number one fan.”
“Mwo-ya, this girl has no camera sense.” Seojun said to himself.
“Thank you! I’m your fan too,” Jukyung replied brightly.
“Your looks are always so classy and stylish.”
“Thank you! I’m glad you liked them. Let me know if there are any other looks you’d like to see.”
“Will you do a tutorial on how to wear red lipstick properly?”
“I’m actually planning on doing that soon!”
“Lim Jukyung, you are so beautiful. Marry me please!”
Suho got up to see the screen, “Who asked that?”
“Sit down!” Jukyung pulled him back as he grumbled. “Sorry,” Jukyung said to the camera, “but I’m taken.”
“Are you and Kang Sujin really friends now?” Sujin turned to Jukyung and all Seojun could see was her shiny black hair on screen.
“Dangyunhaji! In fact, if I wasn’t dating Suho, Kang Sujin would be my boyfriend.”
Seojun scoffed, “As if. It would have been me.”
On the live, Sujin laughed, “Is that so? We can still be together though. Have an affair behind Suho’s back.”
“Sure.” Jukyung said casually.
“Yah!” Suho protested.
Both girls giggled.
Suho looked miffed, “Kang Sujin, you’re blocking the view.” He said peevishly.
“Oh sorry. I’ll move.” Sujin circled around the couple to stand behind Jukyung and read the comments over her shoulder.
Jukyung read something on the screen and pointed it to Sujin, “Read that one.”
Sujin hesitantly read, “Kang Sujin, I’m sorry for judging you.” She looked up, “It’s okay. I can be harsh in my judgements too. The key is to try to learn from your past.” Sujin smiled at the camera before turning back to the screen.
“Kang Sujin, you’re pretty.” Sujin recited in her monotone voice. “Yes. I know.” She said without looking up.
“She is also super smart!” Jukyung gushed. “She was one of the top students in class.”
“Could never beat me though.” Suho said smugly, still sore about the affair comment. Both girls turned to Suho and stared. His mouth became small. “Sorry.”
Jukyung went back to explaining her tutorial, slowly performing each step as Suho patiently sat. She made his eyes look bigger and applied a natural lip tint to finish off.
Both girls couldn’t help but gawk at how good Suho look by the end. Jukyung removed the pink blow clip from his hair in a daze.
“How do I look?” He asked Jukyung.
“Too good, Lee Suho.” Sujin clapped. “Too good.”
Jukyung blushed but couldn’t articulate her thoughts. She stuttered, “Uh-ah! Let’s look at the c-c-comments again!”
Suho grinned.
“Lim Jukyung, you were amazing as always!” Sujin read aloud.
“Thank you.” Jukyung bowed.
“Watch the latest and best movies for free at—”
“Sujin that’s just spam.”
“Oh. Right.” Sujin continued, “Lee Suho looks prettier than the both of you.”
The girls’ face fell flat. Suho just looked innocently at the camera. The girls cleared their throats.
“Ah that’s all the time we have!”
“Ah, yes! Time to move on!”
The two pushed Suho out of the frame together.
“I can still be on camera if you—”
“No, I think the people have seen enough of you.” Sujin said while smiling widely at the camera.
Jukyung went wide eyed when she looked into her computer screen. “Ya! This live got 3.3 thousand comments!”
“Daebak. Good job Lim Ju!” The girls grinned, but then Sujin squinted her eyes disapprovingly at something on the screen. “Lim Jukyung, you look so ugly without makeup? Ya, who wrote this comment? User name KimChee23? Why don’t you show yourself to me and then we can see who’s really ugly?”
“Sujin-ah. It’s just a comment.” Jukyung tried to calm her.
“Comments matter too! Otherwise people wouldn’t be writing them! Ya KimChee23 where do you live?”
Seojun laughed out loud as he saw Jukyung try to calm Sujin down on screen.
“So, is everything all settled now?” Chorong asked Seojun.
“I think, yes. Just look at all the comments praising Sujin.”
He was right, the comments section was flooded with statements of Sujin being a brave person for apologizing and changing her bad behavior.
“Great.” Chorong shook his friend’s shoulders. “Now you don’t have to be so troubled about Lim Jukyung.”
“Lim Jukyung? Why would I be troubled about her?”
Chorong was confused. He had not known about the scandal. The matter Chorong had been referring to was Seojun’s theory that Kang was apparently still after Lee Suho.
“I mean... haven’t you been in a bad mood all week because of her?”
“Why bother asking Chorong?” One of the boys said, “You know the answer to all of Seojun’s heartaches is Lim Jukyung.”
Seojun didn’t bother responding. He returned to his phone screen where Jukyung and Kang Sujin were wrapping up the live, waving at the camera with wide smiles. Suho was trying to get back in the frame and Sujin kept pushing his out of it.
“Ooh. Look at how Han Seojun is smiling.”
“Something good must have happened.”
“See! He’s always thinking of Lim Jukyung.”
“No I’m not!” Seojun protested. Quietly, he admitted. “I wasn’t thinking of Lim Jukyung.”

Han Seojun had arrived at Kang Sujin’s building an hour ago, but for the life of him he could not muster the courage to go up to her apartment.
“I have no reason to see her. So, why should I?” He argued with himself. He paced back and forth, going up the entrance and then going back again, unable to enter.
In his hands, Han Seojun held a beautiful arrangement of white tulips and yellow roses. White tulips as an apology and yellow roses as an offering of friendship. It was his way of apologizing for being a jerk.
After hearing everything she had said on the live event, Seojun had no doubt that Kang Sujin wasn’t who he thought she was. Certainly, if Jukyung and even Suho could trust her, then he could at least give her the benefit of the doubt.
It had felt like a good idea at the time to try to make amends with flowers. But now that he was actually here, at her home, he felt stupid.
What would Kang Sujin say when he showed up at her place? Would she laugh at him and tell him to go to hell? Would she be offended that he just showed up, unannounced? The uncertainly of it all made him anxious.
As he went back down the steps to the building entrance for the thousandth time, Seojun bumped into a lady.
“Oh ma’am. I’m so sorry!”
The woman had been carrying tote bags with plastic containers of food in them. The bags had fallen to the ground but luckily, the containers and the food inside them were unharmed, just a little shaken.
Seojun looked at the woman with an apologetic face. She appeared to be a very dignified lady, as old as his mother. Her hair was up in a chic bun and she wore well fitted, albeit a little worn out, clothes. Her brows were crinkled in disapproval. But upon seeing Seojun, her face softened.
“Are you okay, ma’am?” Seojun asked and his humble words spoken in that rich baritone subsided the woman’s irritation further to the point where she smiled.
“Omo, how can someone be so handsome?”
Seojun beamed. Elders had always loved him. “Ah, thank you.” He responded shyly. “Let me help you carry these.” He took the heavy bags from her, putting the flowers under his arm, careful not to smush them.
“Oh no. I don’t want to bother.”
“It’s no bother at all, ma’am. I insist.” He didn’t let the woman say another word, walking past her into the building. The woman smiled and followed.
“Are you going to visit your girlfriend?” The woman asked, eyeing the flowers.
“A friend. A friend who is a girl.”
“Is that what the youngsters are calling it these days?”
“Ah-nee-heyo. It’s not like that.”
The woman just smiled knowingly. “I’m going to visit a special girl too. My daughter lives in this building.”
They entered the elevator. Seojun asked which floor the woman wanted to go to. “Oh, I’m going to the same floor. Maybe my friend knows your daughter.”
“I’m sure she does. My daughter is a wonderful girl.”
When the lady walked in the same direction as Sujin’s apartment, Seojun said, “Oh. My friend lives this way too. What a coincidence. They might live right next to each other.”
“Then you should come over with your friend. I will cook for you.”
And when the woman stood in front of Sujin’s apartment, Seojun said, “Oh, this is my friend’s apartment. Are they roommates?”
“Young man, is your friend’s name Kang Sujin?”
“Yes, ma’am. How did you know?” Seojun asked, surprised.
The lady patted Seojun’s face, “At least you have good looks.” She punched in Sujin’s passcode and went in. Han Seojun stood outside for a full minute before he connected the dots. And then his eyes went wide.
“Sujin isn’t home yet. Why don’t you wait inside?” Mrs. Kang called out.
“I’m so sorry Mrs. Kang. I didn’t recognize you.” Seojun entered, placing the bags on Sujin’s counter.
“It’s okay, Son. You’ve known Sujin long?”
“I went to Sujin’s school. I knew her through Lee Suho.” He had only seen Sujin’s mother a couple of times at school. But never up close. She had seemed so stuck up like Sujin at the time; with her fur coats and expensive jewelry. Now she seemed like just another lady. Her appearance seemed to have humbled after the divorce.
“Oh Suho! Lovely child. How is he these days? Sujin doesn’t tell me anything.”
“He’s good ma’am.”
Mrs. Kang started lining the containers on the counter. It seemed like too much food for one person.
“Sujinnie never eats properly. She always scolds me for worrying but what can I do? She never takes care of herself.”
Indeed, when Mrs. Kang opened Sujin’s fridge, it was empty save a few water bottles and expired milk that Mrs. Kang threw away.
“And look at you! All skin and bones! It is unfashionable to be healthy these days?”
It was a complaint he had heard from his mother as well. But Seojun had to maintain a lean figure for his job, as he was about to explain to Mrs. Kang.
“Ma’am I actually have to diet beca—”
“I won’t hear it! Sit. I will get you something to eat. I’ve brought more than enough.” Mrs. Kang commanded. Seojun could see where Sujin got her tough exterior from.
“I don’t want to be a bother…”
“Nonesense! It’s no bother at all. Especially not for,” she eyed the bouquet Seojun had placed on the counter, “Sujin’s friend.”
Seojun wanted to protest Mrs. Kang’s assumptions but figured that denying it would only reinforce the idea. He would let Sujin clear up the matter.
“Well if you’re going to cook Mrs. Kang, you might as well let me help.” Seojun often cooked with his mother and was used to being in the kitchen so his culinary prowess impressed Mrs. Kang greatly.
“Your mother must be so proud of you.” Seojun grinned at the compliment. He decided that he liked Mrs. Kang.
Likewise, Mrs. Kang decided that she liked Seojun. She put the flowers he had brought in a vase and brought it to the table. As they cooked, she went on and on about Sujin and her many accomplishments. The woman was very proud of her daughter.
Seojun listened diligently as Mrs. Kang explained how much she was worried about Sujin. The non-profit sector didn’t exactly offer a lucrative career. Not as much being a doctor would have.
“I remember how much she had wanted to be a doctor as a child. Omma, I want to heal everyone, she would tell me. But when her father started pushing her and pushing her… suddenly it was all about ranking number 1, not helping people and her heart just wasn’t in it anymore.” Mrs. Kang lamented. She gave Seojun a considering look. “Has she told you… about her father?”
About the divorce? “Yes. I know.”
Mrs. Kang looked at him tenderly, “You must really be close to my daughter then. She’s a very private girl.”
Seojun didn’t understand why the woman as acting like it was some secret. Everyone knew about Mr. and Mrs. Kang’s separation.
The woman stared into the distance. “If I look back, I can only blame myself. I should have stopped it the first day her father started hitting her. But I was blind. I believed that it would all stop if she got good grades and got into a good university. My husband was always a tough man, but had never been like that to me, you see. I didn’t realize what he was doing to Sujin till it was too late.”
Seojun froze. He felt he had been told something he wasn’t supposed to know.
“And then, she started taking her anger out on other people… it might have been late, but I finally put my foot down. I’m glad my girl is in a better place now.”
Mrs. Kang looked down in remorse. Seojun found it hard to keep looking at her. He suddenly recalled what Sujin had said in Jukyung’s video.
I was foolish. I let my personal problems cloud my judgement and I took my frustration and anger out on Lim Jukyung.
Ah, crap. Seojun thought.
“My daughter is a sensitive girl, despite how strong she appears. I just want to know that she is with people who will care for her, and not hurt her.” Mrs. Kang looked at Seojun meaningfully. He swallowed.
“She is Mrs. Kang. You don’t have to worry.”
The woman pressed his hands gratefully. “You must have heard… about what Sujin was involved in recently.”
Seojun was sure he was going to die today. His heart felt like guilt had wrapped its sharp claws around it and was squeezing tightly.
“Ah. Yes.”
“Don’t believe any of it! My Sujinnie isn’t that kind of girl”
“Ah. Yes.”
“She did go a little astray in school, but what kid doesn’t go through a phase like that? Show me a teenager who has never made a mistake!”
“You’re absolutely right ma’am.” Was all Seojun could say.
“If only I could get my hands on that Han Seojun.” Seojun felt his heart stop. It was then that he realized that he never really introduced himself to Mrs. Kang. “How dare that no good idol take advantage of my daughter? Ah-nee, what kind of a person stays over a girl’s place like that? And doesn’t even help when she gets into trouble because of him?”
Seojun could see his funeral now, his mother crying for him as his friends lined up to regret their loss.
Guys… take care. Please check on my mother for me.
The door chimed as Sujin entered. She stopped in her tracks when she noticed Han Seojun and her mother sitting at a table full of food, waiting for her.
“Ah, Omma why have you come all this way again? Do you really like tiring yourself out so much?” Sujin scolded as she hurriedly put on her indoor slippers.
“Is that any way to greet your mother?” Mrs. Kang scolded back.
Sujin was undeterred. “You know I can always come and visit you and Auntie. Why do you have to come here? And look at all this food! How is this okay for one person? It always goes bad and then I have to throw it out.”
“It goes bad because you don’t eat enough, bad girl! You see what I have to deal with?” Mrs. Kang turned to Seojun who had gone white.
“Ya Han Seojun, what are you doing here?” Sujin asked him.
There was a second of silence where no one spoke. A pin drop could be heard.
“Han Seojun?” Mrs. Kang looked at Seojun. On stage, with makeup on, Seojun looked different. Here, in person, it was difficult to recognize him. But now that his name had been spoken, Mrs. Kang could see the young man whose face had been plastered all over the articles concerning Sujin.
“You… you’re the Han Seojun from the scandal?”
Sujin quickly caught on. “Seojun. Run.”
And then all hell exploded, or rather, one Mrs. Kang. Sujin jumped in her mother’s path as the woman got up with a slipper in her hand. Han Seojun lept off his chair and bowed furiously.
“I am so sorry Mrs. Kang. I am so sorry for all the trouble caused!”
Sujin desperately tried to block her mother’s blows but Mrs. Kang was a formidable woman. She smacked Han Seojun with her slipper.
“Do. You. Have. Any idea. What. Problems. You. Caused!” She punctuated each word with a smack. Seojun, for his part, did not run but rather took it like a man. He was just glad she was beating him with a slipper and not a heel.
“Run! Why aren’t you running?” Sujin asked him as she tried to grab her mother’s wrists.
“Are you protecting him? After everything that happened?”
“I’m really sorry Mrs. Kang.” Seojun said.
“Sorry? What good will an apology do? Will an apology undo the pain you’ve caused?” Her words sounded eerily familiar.
“Ah Omma, stop hitting him! He didn’t do anything. It was my fault. It was all my idea.”
Mrs. Kang stopped. “What?”
And thus, it became Kang Sujin’s turn to be given the mom-smack down.
“Ah Omma WAEEEE??”
“It was your idea to bring him home?!”
“Omma you’ve already beaten me about that!”
“I haven’t beaten you enough.”
“Mrs. Kang please! We were both drunk. Sujin had no choice but to—”
“What?” Mrs. Kang went ballistic.
Sujin glared at Seojun, “Han Seojun do you actually want us both to die?”
“YOU WERE DRUNK?!”
“Omma it wasn’t like that!”
“Mrs. Kang it really wasn’t.” Seojun chimed in.
“If it wasn’t then why is he bringing you flowers? Why is he showing up at your place?”
Sujin looked at the tulips and roses on her table. White tulips, a flower of regret. And yellow roses, flowers of friendship. Sujin knew exactly what they meant. She wondered if Han Seojun knew too or if he just got really lucky with his choices.
It was a while before Mrs. Kang calmed down. Seojun felt thoroughly sore. Both he and Sujin sat on the floor with guilty expressions on their faces, looking like school children being punished.
“Get out. I don’t want to see the likes of your around my daughter ever again.”
“Omma.”
Seojun bowed his head to the ground. “I am really sorry Mrs. Kang. I’m really sorry for all of the trouble that I’ve caused. I assure you I will never let anything like that happen again.”
Mrs. Kang crossed her arms and looked away.
“Omma. Neither of us had any idea that something like this would happen. Its not Seojun’s fault. And besides, he got into trouble too.” Sujin nudged him with her elbow.
“Yes, ma’am. I was almost kicked out of my company.” Which wasn’t exactly true but Seojun didn’t mind fibbing a little.
“You should have been!” Mrs. Kang fumed but then softened when she saw Seojun’s best puppy dog face. Han Seojun was always good with ladies, especially ones that were mad at him.
He inched closer to Mrs. Kang. “Mrs. Kang. I’m really regretful about what Sujin faced.” He took her hands in his. Sujin watched in astonishment as Han Seojun turned her mother’s boiling anger to a low simmer. “But I promise you, I will do everything in my power to make sure that this never happens again.”
Mrs. Kang cleared her throat.
“And look, the food we both prepared has gotten all cold. Wouldn’t it be better if we all eat and talk calmly?”
Sujin scoffed, not only at the blatant pandering but at the fact that it was working. Mrs. Kang’s anger all but disappeared. It came to a point that as they all ate, she began taking his side.
“How could you risk an idol’s reputation like that?” She asked Sujin who could only roll her eyes.
“Omma, how can you say that?”
“I mean, now that I think about it, it isn’t Seojun’s fault that his fans came after you.”
“Ugh, I can’t believe this.” Sujin scowled.
As dumb as Han Seojun had appeared, Sujin had to admit this was pretty shrewd. It made her wonder what else she had misjudged him on. He even got himself invited by Mrs. Kang to come by again for dinner.
“Your mom is incredible.” Seojun told Sujin as they walked to the convenience store. Mrs. Hand had sent them out for some ice-cream since she had brought nothing for dessert.
“She’s changed a lot after the divorce. She’s more herself now.”
They walked slowly, enjoying the night air and the silence. Oddly enough the quiet didn’t feel awkward or strange. Neither of them felt any pressure to speak. They got papico, the ice-cream that came in squishy bottles, and sat by on the benches outside.
“Kang Sujin,” Seojun began, “about what happened… are you… You know when I, um… I guess what I’m trying to say is…”
Sujin laughed, a clear gurgle of joy that made Seojun feel strange in his stomach. “Mwo-ya? Has the great Han Seojun been rendered speechless?” She laughed some more and Seojun didn’t stop her. “Relax Han Seojun. I’m fine.”
Seojun looked at his feet. “I… wasn’t happy with what happened to do… with the articles and how everybody was talking about you.”
“Gwenchana. It’s over now. I mean I had to make another Instagram account but all in all, its not as bad now. Besides,” she tilted her chin, “do you think a bunch of cowards who hide behind usernames are enough to take me down? I’m Kang Sujin, remember? Badass of Saebom High.”
“I thought I was the badass of Saebom high.” Seojun raised a brow.
“You were the gangster.” Sujin grinned, eating her ice-cream.
“I’m glad you’re tough. You don’t let these things bother you.”
“I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me. People telling me that I’m the worst and I should die wasn’t exactly easy.” She said grimly. “But you know what upset me the most?”
“What?”
“That I couldn’t beat those cowards up for saying what they did.” Sujin got up and punched the air. “If I could just get my hands on those twerps then I would teach them a lesson or two.” She punched the air.
The fire in Sujin’s eyes was so comical that Seojun burst out laughing.
“Don’t laugh! Hajima! I’m not joking.”
“Kang Sujin, were you always such a fighter?”
“Yup!” Sujin stated simply. She sat back besides Seojun, closer this time. And he noticed. “What about you?” She asked. “How are you doing?”
Seojun leaned back leisurely, “Eh, I’m fine. I don’t worry about public perception anyway. The people who matter will know me. Everyone else is just noise.”
“I bet your fans would leave you in a second.” Sujin teased.
“Don’t diss my fans. They’re all cool and awesome.”
“What, all two of them? Do they also happen to be named Jukyung and Suho?”
“You’re forgetting Chorong.”
The two giggled.
“Did your co-workers ask for more autographs?”
“Nope. Got fired before they could.”
“What?” Seojun stood up. Sujin relayed how her company had let her go after details about her past misconduct were released online.
“How could they just fire you? Isn’t that illegal?”
“Calm down. It’s normal for that to happen.”
“How can you be so calm?”
“Would you rather I get angry? There’s no point in doing that. I won’t get that job back.”
Seojun pressed his lips together in a tight line and sat back down.
“I’m surprised that you’re actually defending me.” Sujin sounded impressed.
“I mean… its wrong. Even if you and I don’t get along, what’s wrong is wrong.”
Sujin chuckled. She looked at the time on her phone. “I should get back. How are you getting home?”
“I brought my bike.”
“Your company lets you ride motorbikes?”
“Nope.” Seojun grinned.
“A’ight. Good night, Han Seojun. Stay safe.” Sujin walked back in the direction of the apartment. Feeling light and happy. While her online image hadn’t completely recovered, her relationship with Han Seojun had. She might not have to simply tolerate his presence now. They might genuinely get along.
“Kang Sujin!” Han Seojun called out to her, the woman who he thought was vile and destructive. The person that turned wasn’t that woman. It was the little girl who had looked to her father with love but only got his abuse in return.
“I’m sorry I misjudged you.” Seojun told the little girl.
The girl smiled. “I’m sorry I misjudged you too.”
x.
It was unfamiliar territory, getting along with Kang Sujin. More for the group than Han Seojun and Kang Sujin. They all looked at the pair in wonder and shock when Sujin asked Seojun to pass the soy sauce and he obliged. It shocked them further when Sujin laughed when Seojun bragged about being recognized at a department store and being asked for pictures.
“Hey, you feeling okay?” Jukyung asked Sujin quietly.
“Yeah, why?” Sujin replied.
“Nothing. Just asking.”
“Hey, what’s up with you?” Suho asked Seojun privately.
“What?”
“You’re acting all weird around Kang Sujin.”
“Weird how?”
“You’re being nice.”
“Am I not supposed to be?”
“Okay! Who’s going to go first?” Taehoon asked the room, interrupting Suho and Seojun’s conversation.
They were at Suho’s apartment where he had a karaoke machine set up. Seojun had finally relented to visiting their place and it was just as painful as he had thought it would be. It was a mishmash to Jukyung’s bright and lively style with Suho’s dark and moody one.
The posters of rock bands and Junji Itou’s mangas were something both of them shared. It was fascinating how the two of the most caring people in Seojun’s life were into such dark things. Seojun saw Sujin eye one of the horror comic book posters suspiciously, as if the monster drawn in them could come out any second.
Chorong sang first, sharing a duet with his girlfriend. Then Taehoon and Suah went next. Duets seemed to be the theme of the night. Jukyung and Suho went next.
“Alright? Who else?”
Sujin was the only girl left.
“Well I’m not going up there.” She said when everyone looked at her. She eyed the other boys, all of whom were terrified of her. Even they could still hear Kang Sujin saying Ya Han Seojun, are you a gangster?!
“Jukyung-ah. Sing with me.” Sujin grabbed Jukyung’s hand and led her up before she could say anything.
“I’m singing too!” Suah joined.
Seojun went next. His was a solo and he clearly was the best performer. His rich baritone singing in a soft melody made everyone pay attention.
“Isn’t it nice to have an idol as a friend?” Suah asked. “Its like having a private concert.” Jukyung and Sujin nodded in agreement.
Everyone swayed their heads to the beat, except for Kang Sujin who was noticing the lyrics Han Seojun was singing.
I want to give you all of my days
I want to tell you all these feelings of mine
The sleepless blue winds
Brightly light up this night
He was singing about Lim Jukyung. Sujin looked over to her friend, who was looking longingly in Suho’s eyes. The two were entranced with each other, not noticing Han Seojun who stood just a couple of feet away, pouring his heart out.
After all the fun had been wrapped up, Seojun and Sujin had been the only two to stay back. Sujin had helped Jukyung clean up while Suho went to throw out the trash.
As Sujin cleaned the dishes, Seojun sat in the living room, looking at all of the pictures Jukyung and Suho had hung up. He could see how Suho and Jukyung would sit on the very couch he was on and watch TV together or lie around reading books.
He tried to replay those images, with himself there with Jukyung instead of Suho but he couldn’t. He couldn’t lie to himself about who she belonged to.
“You know, Han Seojun, I just realized something.” Sujin called from the kitchen.
“What?”
“You have two hands.”
Seojun looked at her like she had lost her mind. “Wow, Kang Sherlock. Your powers of deduction amaze me.”
“So, since you have those two hands, and you’re a gentleman, why not help me out over here? I assume you would feel bad that I’m the only one doing any actual cleaning.”
“You assume incorrectly. I have no issues with you doing all the cleaning.” Seojun turned back to the TV and was promptly hit in the head with a dish rag.
“Oops.” Sujin said flatly.
Seojun got up, dish rag in hand. Wordlessly, he took out the dishes from the washer and lined them up in the cabinets.
“Aren’t you ever afraid that Jukyung will be uncomfortable about you singing love songs to her?” Sujin asked in a low voice.
“What do you mean?”
“That song you sang. My heart is full of you, I’m starting to take after you?”
Seojun eyed her. “She won’t know.”
“I did.”
“Yeah but, you’re you and Jukyung’s Jukyung.”
“So?”
“So…” Seojun leaned closer, “you ranked number two in class for a reason.”
“Sujin-ah! I told you I would take care of everything.” Jukyung appeared from her bedroom.
“Don’t worry about it. Han Seojun helped.” Sujin assured.
The pair said their goodbyes to the couple and exited together. Han Seojun said nothing when he started walking his own way, while Kang Sujin turned to wave at him but was unseen. He was too lost in his own broken heart to notice anyone or anything.
She simply sighed, took it as just a Han Seojun thing and started walking in the other direction.

“I still can’t get used to this.” Suah said, waving a spoon between Han Seojun and Kang Sujin. The two sat opposite each other and were eating their food peacefully.
It was this peace that bothered Suah.
“I mean, how can you two just get along?”
“We’re adults Choi Su. We can learn how to get along.” Sujin stated.
Suho spluttered in laughter. “I thought you said that Seojun was a giant baby with no manners?”
Seojun gave Sujin a scathing look. Sujin went pink, “I never said that! You take that back!”
“It’s still strange.” Suah leaned closer. “What happened? Have you guys settled your differences?”
“Han Seojun got Sujin flowers.” Suho said cheekily.
“Yah!” Seojun protested. But it was in vain, the deed was done, and everyone oohed and aahed at this news.
“Did you really get her flowers?”
“Wait, when did this happen?”
“Does that mean that Seojun apologized first?”
“What kind of flowers?”
Seojun looked at Suho with the rage of a thousand suns. Suho just grinned back.
“Aren’t flowers romantic?”
“Ya! There was nothing romantic about it. All I got her were yellow roses and white tulips.” Seojun defended.
“OoooOoooh. Roooses. Roses are totally romantic.” Taehoon teased.
“They were yellow. Yellow roses are for friendship!”
“So, are you two friends?” Jukyung asked and everyone looked at Seojun and Sujin.
“Meh.” They both shrugged at the same time.
“Omo! Look at how in sync they are!”
“We are not.” They both said in sync.
Seojun had to admit, their group gatherings were much more comfortable now that he and Sujin had cleared the air between them. He enjoyed discovering how Sujin was less the ice princess he had thought her to be and more a regular girl. She also turned out to be much cooler than he had expected.
She had been the only one to see his discomfort when Jukyung and Suho suggested they all go on an overnight trip with them. Going to see their apartment; the very proof that Lim Jukyung and Lee Suho ate and slept—Oh God, don’t think about them sleeping—together was painful enough. Seojun didn’t need to see them canoodling for an entire weekend.
“What about it guys? Shall we go?” Jukyung looked around as everyone nodded excitedly, including Sujin.
But then her eye’s met Seojun’s. He said nothing but he didn’t need to.
“Lim Ju, it’ll be difficult for me to join. I just lost my job, remember? An overnight trip is...” Seojun knew Sujin was just making up an excuse.
“Oh, oh right. Sorry Kang Su-ya. I totally forgot. Something else then!”
The group moved on to discussing other options. Seojun sent Sujin a grateful look. She acted nonchalant, as if she had not just overturned everyone’s plans for him.
“Thanks. For what you did back in there.” He told her as they were all leaving.
“Forget about it.” She waved a hand in dismissal.
The next time the group gathered at a fancier restaurant than usual. A suggestion by Suho who had offered to pay for the food tonight.
“This place is so beautiful.” Suah commented looking around the interior.
“Are we celebrating something?” Sujin asked. “This doesn’t seem like a regular get-together.”
Sujin had only asked for the sake of asking. But something about the way Suho looked at her told Seojun that she was on to something.
“Well,” Jukyung held up her hand, “we do have something to announce.”
And announce she did. The big fat diamond resting on her ring finger had a lot to say. And suddenly everyone erupted with joy. The girls took Jukyung in their arms, squealing and crying with joy. The boys surrounded Suho, patting him on the back, congratulating him.
All except Seojun, who just sat there in a daze. Sujin happened to look over and see him, frozen in his seat. Sujin wasn’t alone in her observation. Taehoon also noticed but missed the implication.
“Look! Han Seojun is actually so shocked he—"
Sujin made it look like an accident, her bumping into the table and sending a glass down on the floor, shattering into a million pieces. The sound shook Seojun out of his daze and also distracted everyone from realizing Seojun’s inner turmoil.
“Oh shit.” Sujin said looking down.
“Hey, be careful.” Jukyung said.
“You okay?” Suho asked Jukyung, taking her arm.
“Excuse me, can we get someone to clean this up?” Taehoon asked the waiter.
The fuss over the broken glass gave Seojun enough time to recover. He then congratulated Suho with a massive hug.
“You both deserve each other. I mean it.” He told Suho and he meant it.
Maintaining a fake smile over dinner was easy. Everyone else was so chatty that Seojun’s and Sujin’s relative silence went unnoticed. Suah pestered Jukyung for details: “How did it happen?”, “When?”, “Why didn’t you call me immediately?”. Taehoon made jokes about marriage being the end of romance to which Suah started an argument with him and then it became about settling matters between the two.
Sujin didn’t remember much of what happened after that, the rest of the night was a blur. She just hoped that she had maintained enough dignity to not appear as bitter as she actually felt.
Even though they all parted very late in the night, Sujin couldn’t go directly home. She needed something to ease the pain. So naturally, she went to the nearest tent bar she could find. The place seemed to be overcrowded, with people waiting outside for others to leave. Sujin managed to sneak in and grab a table.
She downed half of a soju bottle in one go but then couldn’t muster the energy to drink further. Her side dishes went untouched. All Sujin could do was stare and wonder if there was any way to just take her heart out of her chest and throw it away. Because there seemed to be no relief from this pain she was feeling.
She banged her head on the table. “Ah wae? Why can’t I just move on?” She asked herself in frustration.
“Ugh, why the hell are you here?” That irritated tone and deep voice could only belong to one person. And indeed, when Sujin looked up she saw Han Seojun a few tables over looking at her in disdain.
“Wae? You have a claim on this place?” Sujin raised a critical brow.
“And what if I do?”
“Then give me everything for free. Since we’re friends who get along.”
“No. Friends pay double.”
“How stingy.” Sujin took another shot of soju.
The man running the tent bar came over. “Why don’t you two share a table since you know each other? I have customers waiting to be seated.”
“No way, I’m not sitting with her.” Seojun grumbled.
“Aha! I knew it! Being all nice to me was just an act.”
The owner ignored Sujin, “How can two youngsters be so rude? Get up! I’m moving you over there.”
This was how Han Seojun came to drink with Kang Sujin for the second time. They both looked at each other with scowling faces.
“What happened, Kang Sujin? You were acting all happy for the lucky couple.” Seojun taunted. He seemed a little tipsy but so was Sujin.
“Of course, I’m happy. I’m so, so happy.” She said wistfully.
Seojun scoffed. “Is that why you were whining about not being able to move on? I thought you said you didn’t like Lee Suho anymore.”
Sujin narrowed her eyes. “I don’t. And even if I allegedly did, at least I held it all in. You were clearly about to run away with Jukyung before I saved you.”
“Saved me? Puh-lease.”
“Why? Do you think that glass fell on its own?”
Seojun gave her a sideways look before taking another shot.
“You gonna eat that?” He pointed a chin to her plate.
“Nah, have it.”
They sat in silence for a moment. A comfortable silence where neither felt compelled to say anything.
Sujin shook Seojun when she suddenly smacked her glass down on the table. “I’m over Lee Suho.” She declared. “I’m over Lee Suho… but…”
“Just because you’re over him, doesn’t mean you stopped loving him.” Seojun said what she was thinking.
She looked at him, her pain evident on her face. In that moment, he let himself be vulnerable too.
“Isn’t it funny? Out of everyone I know, you’re the only one who gets… this.” Sujin said.
Seojun chuckled. “Exactly. Who woulda thought? Kang Sujin and Han Seojun having something in common.”
“You know it’s gonna hurt even worse from now on, right? We’re the closest to those two. That means we’ll be involved in everything.”
Seojun rubbed his faced. “I can’t think about that right now. Or I really will die.”
Sujin understood what he meant. “You know what I want?”
“What?”
“I want Suho to never find out that I still like him.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I can’t help that I feel this way right? You can’t stop yourself from feeling what you feel. But… I wanna keep my dignity. I wanna still be cool and… not be seen as some pathetic loser who’s still after her best friend’s boyfriend.”
Seojun took a shot, nodding.
Sujin leaned forward. “That’s why, I suggest we help each other out.”
Seojun gave her a look. “How so?”
“Well, if we see the other being too transparent, then we stop them, or at least take the attention away so that the other can collect themselves.”
“Like the broken glass today?”
“Like the broken glass today. And if it’s getting too painful, then we can just talk about it.”
Seojun laughed. “Kang Sujin, offering therapy. That’s rich.”
“Not therapy. Friendship. It helps if you talk about stuff like this.” Sujin insisted.
Seojun gave her a considering look. “What’s in it for me? These seem like things you want to do.”
“You’ll be able to attend Jukyung’s wedding without feeling like you’re dying on the inside.”
“There’s no guarantee that will happen.”
“You’re right, there isn’t. But at least that’s what it’ll look like. Think about it Han Seojun. Do you want Jukyung to always see you as the friend who is in love with her? Or do you want her to see you as a cool friend who she can comfortably rely on, without wondering if she’s hurting his feelings.”
Seojun thought about it. It felt like a bad idea. But there was a part of Han Seojun that was tired of his own attachment to Lim Jukyung. If it meant that it would help him move on, then he was willing to try anything
“Alright, Kang Sujin.” He raised his glass. Sujin clinked hers with his. “Let’s try this.”
I am bad at making memes but I do it any way

Ok look im not saying z stans aren't bad its just that they're not as bad as toms. Yes there are a few really bad ones here and there but overall toms fans are so much worse. Making literal hate pages just to shit on z, im sorry but unless u can name a z stan that has done that, toms fans are worse. (im a stan of both btw this is just the difference i noticed between the 2)
Yea I haven't seen any Z stans making hate pages dedicated to Tom, or even calling Tomdaya "PR" honestly. Aside from the Jacdaya fans in the past, I haven't even seen any large Zendaya fandoms recently routinely putting Tom down or calling him names. If anyone has receipts of this, by all means being it to my attention so that I can retract my statement lol.
Look, I'll be honest.....there's definitely a segment of Z's fandom who just wants to see Zendaya date a black man (or maybe even date a woman), or who don't trust white male fandoms that are super popular (because of the typical racism that most woc in these rlshps unfortunately get). I'm just being downright honest about how some fans have felt.
This is precisely why a lot of Z stans were "OKAY" with Jacob (even though he's also white), but not okay with Tom. It's not really about Tom per se, but more so about how many of Z's stans perceived Tom's fans to treat Z for years while they were dating. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I think that's why some fans were happy (and relieved) with Z dating a guy like JE (even despite his shady record🙄) who was a lot less famous than her honestly. It might also be the reason why some of Tom's stans would prefer that he date a woman who's not as popular as Zendaya. Sometimes it might not even be a race thing. Sometimes it's just that SOME of these fandoms that are really huge get super possessive and weird, and some fans don't want to see their faves dating someone from a large fandom because they're afraid they'll get hate/racism/bullying from that person's respective fandom. It's sad, but it's true.
But imo, that's an issue with the fandom, NOT with the two individuals themselves. Instead of hating on the ship, or the two ppl being together (esp when they both really love each other), the disappointment should be focused on the segments of the fandoms who are rude, racist, mean, intolerant, and toxic imo. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Not on Tom and Zendaya as people.
It's funny cuz I've received angry asks from Z stans in my inbox claiming that I hate her, and then the other day I got angry asks from Tom fans claiming that I hate him! So, apparently I must hate them both equally if I'm getting the same complaint lol 😆 🤷 🤣
I just think that some fans go way too hard in the paint at times for no good reason. Take a deep breath lol.... Get some fresh air.... 🌥
Anyone who reads my blog thoroughly will know that I love Tom and Zendaya. I just don't suck up to any celebrity, nor do I worship them. I'm honest (sometimes brutally so) about how I feel on certain matters. It doesn't mean I love the person any less. I'm just not looking at ppl from rose-colored glasses all the time. I can recognize that the person I stan is a wonderful, flawed human being, just like the REST of us (myself included), so I'm never expecting perfection from anyone.
I just take a very objective view on things. If that makes me a "hater", then oh well.... 🤷🏾‍♀️
This "who's fandom is worse" discussion is ridiculous because neither fandom is really awful imo. I've seen WORSE tbh lol 😆 😅
And anyone who follows me knows that I don't like comparing or pitting one fandom over the other. That's exhausting.... 😓
Can't we all just get along??? 🥴

A Fandom (N)Etiquette Recap In 4 Points Based On Experience By Yours Truly. (Take it with a grain of salt - or many -).
This was sparked by some recent unfortunate events involving both me and some people close to me. While it started from/with fanart it can be applied to all kinds of [fan]works really, and not just fanworks tbh...
1) Rules [of anatomy/characterization issues/characterization/themes choice/lore of choice]: friendly reminder that even if/when there are guidelines and popular takes or types, seeing someone not following them by some degree can be due to a variety of reasons, including being a beginner to experimenting to making a specific point, to projecting part of self onto a character/representation for whatever their reasons,  to just knowing the ‘rules’ (they might have a degree about said rules even *hint hint*) and still DECIDING TO BEND DEM RULES AS THEY PLEASE IF THEY SO DECIDE it's entirely up to the author(s) because that's also - google it up - artistic license. It’s - to use an euphemism - extremely rude to presume that whatever different take from one own opinion must stem from  ignorance and bad faith and double standards or being unfair or committing crimes against  fictional characters if not against humanity by just daring to share for free and for fun a personal rendition - of whatever the source work/medium is - that does not align with your oh-so-superior-holier-than-thou perception. No one is harming fictional characters or is out to ‘misrepresent’ a character ( = your preferred and by nature subjective view of a character)  on purpose and/or doing it as a personal attack to you.
2) Realism is not the only legit aim of fanart or of art in general. Neither is morality.
3) Fanworks can run the whole gamut from Word Of God  to ‘Death of The Author’. They are fanworks. Incidentally if one is not the Author nothing said random person says can be considered ‘canon’/better/truer per se and even if said person were the creator or their PR... Death Of The Author, baby. You oh fellow fan and fan creator do not get to police or ‘allow’ other fan&creators’s thoughts and opinions or to ‘fix’ them, because they are as valid as anyone else’s experiencing and/or creating fanworks about the same character and issues/themes. Relatedly...
4) the only opinion that matters to me on how to make a piece or alter it is mine and my partner's and the mods/curators in case of collabs, commissions, or zine and events that have terms/guidelines. As long as the involved parties *agree* and *consent*/are on the same page to reach an artistic outcome that feels true to the agreed upon vision that’s all that matters  to me. Outside of that any negative or policing opinion especially if uninvited and unrequired are unnecessary and unwelcome when not outright harmful to *real people* for which said oh-so-offensive fanwork can as easily be a source of empowerment, catharsis, or solace.
--- Golden rules: - constructive criticism is only good when you are requested to give it by the author and it’s actually constructive instead of dressing personal differences in opinion as anything more than personal and subjective opinions or use them to make uninformed, disingenuous and harmful to real people assumptions of the other party’s culture, awareness, mental capacity, fairness, or morality. - backhanded compliments are not concrit. If you have nothing nice to say better saying nothing. - you can be supportive, create, finance/commission of the kind of content you like to see and are passionate about, without demeaning other people’s preferences and work in the process. It’s not that hard. Like for shipping characters, squicks, triggers... don’t like do not read/watch/listen to. Just do not engage with the content you don’t vibe with,  and curate your own experience by revelling in what you enjoy and gives you joy. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. This also includes you. Your beloved kind of content could be seen as trash by someone else, and viceversa. If you wish for respect then you have to give others the same respect in return. - the more condescending and pushy you come on to other fans and creators the less those people are going to respond favourably to create the kind of content you desire, btw. You are self-sabotaging hard. Educate yourself, have a good look at yourself/selves in the mirror, and DO BETTER. Be kind, be respectful. Love begets love. Heavens know life is already hard enough as it is without actively making other people miserable.

Stucky
Brooklyn’s Sweetheart by @spacesnail3000
Bucky and Steve had always been meant to keep her safe and happy. As far as anyone else was concerned, that was their sole reason for being alive. Unfortunately, the things that kept her safe were not always the things that kept her happy. Lately, she was making it pretty damn hard for them to compromise.
Brooklyn Syndrome by @lordelannette
Bucky's back was pressed against the cold floor and he stared through blurry eyes as Steve stood over him. He was trying to push himself as far away as he could, using his hands and bare feet to slide himself out from between Steve's legs but he couldn't find purchase against the wooden floor. Steve's legs were locked on both sides of his hips and Bucky couldn't move, couldn't get away, and the room was swimming before his eyes and he couldn't focus, couldn't think straight. All he could make out was the hazy figure of Steve towering over him and he lifted his arm to push uselessly at Steve's shin. "P-please," Bucky whispered. His voice was weak, like him, and his jaw trembled as Steve reached down. Steve slid down onto the floor and effortlessly gathered him into his strong arms, cradling Bucky to his chest as he leaned against the wall. "Bucky," Steve breathed. One of his large hands slid gently into Bucky's hair, the other curving against his spine and pulling him even closer. "You're mine now, remember?" Steve's grip tightened then it all went black.
Let’s Review by @viciousdenofsacrilege
Peter Parker knew that his big sister would do anything for him to be safe and happy. She’d given up everything for him twice over already and would do it again in a heartbeat. And that’s why, when the criminal mastermind Tony Stark started inextricably following him around, he didn’t say a word. Because he knew without a doubt Penny would do whatever she had to if it meant keeping Peter safe. He had to protect her, just like she always protected him. He never considered what would happen if Stark decided both Parker siblings were worth taking. Never considered who else in Stark’s inner circle would agree. He just wanted to protect her and yet somehow, they both ended up with needles in their necks.
