"Heya cupcake. World peace achieved yet?"

Vi smirked as she shoved her shoulder to the Sheriff's door frame. Caitlyn had a disastrous spread of papers on her desk and elegant trigger fingers splayed on her temple. Her free hand rolled a silver firing pin over her knuckles absently.

"I told you not to call me that at work," she murmured to the tabletop, "Or rather, I've been telling you for 7 years. This will make approximately the 1,000th time,"

Vi leant her head back against the jamb and whistled a laugh through her nose, "Well, good thing it hasn't been work hours for about 4 hours now. It's 11. Night shift changed a few hours ago,"

Caitlyn's sharp eyes snapped to meet her own. Vi glanced pointedly at the wall clock. The Sheriff bit her lip. Vi balled her fist in her jacket pockets tighter and kept her face a smooth smug. Caitlyn's armor had folded away like a Shimmer shop in downtown Piltover. Sheriff had been her name for 5 years now, and with a single soft jab, she was Caitlyn again. Vi glowed inside every time.

"Very well," she let a smile slip, "I'll take this up again in the morning. It's possible I've been looking at the same things for too long,"

Caitlyn delivered the line with a small drag of mocking sarcasm: it was Vi's go-to when she found the Sheriff moments away from beating her head against a wall. No one could look at evidence and see like Caitlyn, but her insight came at an obsessive cost.

"Tomorrow's Saturday, sweetness. I suggest you invest in a calendar before the City starts charging you rent,"

Cait cracked a smile, rolling her eyes and pushing away from her desk. She stood, gathering the materials up into a thick accordion folder. Vi watched with a soothed interest. Caitlyn crossed to the far side of her office, rifle workbench littered with pieces. She slid the firing pin into a bolt action and assembled her rifle with artistic ease. Absently, she triple checked the locks securing Vi's gauntlets in their cradle.

"Right then," Caitlyn collected her things, "Let's be off, shall we?"

Vi harshed out a lazy chuckle, when Cait brushed past her toward the door, "Why do you make it sound like you're the one waiting on me?"

"Well, I am now," Caitlyn threw a grin over her shoulder and swept off down the precinct. Vi smiled. It was a big, open-mouthed affair of admiring audacity and a thunderstruck joy. She dug for her own keys and locked Cait's office before jogging through the station after her. They waved to the night shift enforcers on desk duty, Vi's hand a steady pressure on her lower back, guiding Cait all the way to the exit.

"You're aware that I'm quite capable of exercising self control right?" Caitlyn said, amused, "It was only the once I picked up an extra case from casual conversation in the break room,"

"It was at least four," Vi smirked, "One in the break room, one during an in-pursuit foot chase, one in a men's bathroom, and one on an actual date,"

Caitlyn threw her head back to laugh just as they opened the door to the parking lot. Vi smiled with her, admiring the night's hextech steetlamp highlighting the sharp features of her partner. Cait's imperfect teeth. Her long, stiletto nose. Lips to die for. Cheekbones high and sharp enough to gut a man. So, so fucking pretty.

Her laugh died suddenly as Caitlyn looked behind Vi and stopped short. Caitlyn's smile slid off her face in a fraction of a second, eyes narrowed in focus. Vi turned, nerves wire taut, fists wrapped and ready to strike where Cait pointed. Instead of urban terrorism or guerilla street defense, Vi found her motorcycle. And a woman leaning against the front.

"Marina?" Vi wondered aloud.

The woman straightened, realized who Vi stood next to and swallowed, a deep embarrassment coloring her cheeks. The top hat was unmistakable.

"Uhm," Marina held her elbow, "You said to call if I ever wanted to," she glanced to the Sheriff and back to Vi, "-again, I mean," she trailed off.

The night air was suddenly much colder than before.

"Enjoy your evening ladies," Caitlyn gave a tight smile and walked away.

Vi immediately lunged to catch her quick, clipped strides. She reached for Caitlyn's elbow and came up with her hand instead.

"Wait," she said, jaw grinding, "Cait, wait- It's not what it looks like,"

Caitlyn's incredible azure eyes glittered with challenge. Intellect thrummed in her expression. Well then? that face said. What is it if not exactly what it looks like?

To which Vi had no answer. It was what it looked like: 5 years of separation, and Vi had been lonely for every day of them. Caitlyn's eyes softened. Her shoulders bowed, and Vi's heart cracked in half as Cait did what she always would.

"It's quite alright," Caitlyn whispered. She pursed her lips in a grimaced smile. Toyed with her hat before dropping Vi's hand to put it on her head. The brim cast her eyes in shadow, "It was a long time ago, Vi," the Sheriff said, "I've moved on,"

Something hot balled in Vi's throat.

"We're both shit liars, cupcake,"

But Caitlyn had already turned away, heels clicking on the stone street.

"See you Monday, Officer,"

"See you Monday, Sheriff,"

Caitlyn did what she always would - respect the request Vi had made those 5 years ago. After oil and water became water and blood. After a cold kiss in a rain storm and a warm body pressing her to fine silk sheets. After Vi had bought the supplies and carefully inked the crossed Kiramann keys on her thigh.

"Come on, Cait. It has to be this way. No Sheriff of Piltover has an undercity ex-con girlfriend,"

"Don't talk about yourself that way. You're an enforcer and I'm so proud to be with you. I could be the first,"

"No, cupcake. You can't. The Council would never elect you. Even your mom looks at me like I'm upstart trash. Look, it's not about me. It's about what you could do as Sheriff. You're the one always talking about cycles and shit. You could actually make a difference as Sheriff,"

"But Vi, breaking up? I can't lose you-,"

"-You won't lose me. You'll be saving little me's everyday. Kids like me. Like Powder. Please, Cait. Do this for Piltover. For me. It won't be forever. I promise,"

I. THE CHANG FAMILY

Acknowledgement, respect, success – Jeno was born into a family whose foundations were built on those values. Though not quite as renowned as other families, their kin was smart. The Changs were mostly comprised of people who highly appreciated academics. Whereas some of them became talented aurors, knowledgeable teachers or brilliant writers, the majority evidently pursued jobs within wizarding governing bodies. In a nutshell, they were busy, hard-working wizards and witches who followed a set standard and way of life. That they happened to be pureblood and wealthy was just a convenient bonus, really. His parents weren’t an exception to this tradition, nor was his older brother.

II. ROLE MODEL

Lei, who was two years older than Jeno, had always been his biggest source of inspiration and strength. Although their family favored him over his older brother ever since they’d learned that he was ridiculously smart – a prodigy, even – Lei was always so much brighter and better in his eyes. He’d always admired him for his iron will, his determination to study what he didn’t understand or to practice a skill although he undeniably sucked at it. He always accomplished his tasks in a timely manner, too. In comparison, darling Jeno had never found himself struggling – reading and understanding came to him as easily as breathing, he never put much effort or passion into the things that he did because he didn’t have to. It ultimately cultivated a hint of laziness in him.

III. HOGWARTS & DREAMS

His life as a student, in England no less, was unproblematic: He scored good grades, not because they were particularly important to him, but for the sake of pleasing his parents and making his brother proud. Truthfully, he was never genuinely interested in academics himself. Rather, he was someone who was extremely carefree. Not being under the careful watch of his family allowed him more leeway and freedom to be as he was; more naughty than well-mannered and snarky to boot.

Despite his bright intellect, which they loved him for, Jeno ironically embodied everything that went against his family’s ideals. He didn’t desire power nor the security that a responsible office job could offer him. He wanted his future to be riddled with excitement and yearned for a lifestyle that was challenging, but most of all? Fun. Fashion, for one, was something which had always intrigued him; it wasn’t something which was subject to the rigidness of reason – but to the whims of creativity.

He never dared to divulge anything of this to his family though, aware of the expectations that his parents had for him and that he was too young to bear the consequences. He deemed the topic not worth it, as it would only ruin the little time they had whenever he returned home for the holidays. His plan was to reveal his true intentions to them after he had graduated.

IV. THE PROMISE - tw ; death

Approximately two years before his graduation at Hogwarts however, he received a letter from home which stated that his brother had gotten gravely sick. Lei had been born with a weak immune system and had always been prone to illnesses. He’d suffered throughout that year’s winter term without ever expressing any of it to Jeno in his letters, out of care for him so he could focus on school. They only notified him a few days before Lei died so that the brothers could spend them together.

Lei’s death scarred Jeno for several reasons. One: He loved his brother more than anyone else. Two: Before Lei died, the two had shared a heartfelt conversation which was about Jeno’s happiness. Since Jeno had never found the right moment to share his actual dreams and hopes for the future with him, that he didn’t want to step into their parents’ footsteps, he promised Lei that he would make them proud, who in turn told him that he wished him all the best and only success. Do what I couldn’t.

The following two years, Jeno’s bright personality dimmed significantly; he took his time to grieve. And because he was intent on keeping his promise to his brother, he threw himself into his studies like he’d never before – it also helped him, in a way, to distract himself from the pain. Eventually, at the age of 18, he returned to live with his parents with nothing short of impeccable results.

V. TRICKSTER

Jeno detested the idea of perfection. It didn’t give any room to flaws, improvement or change – to him, it was nothing in the broad sense of things because his own genius was very much the same, perfect, and it was wretched boring. Boredom alone wasn’t the reason why he became the awfully playful character that he is today though, it merely encouraged his already fun-loving personality to do and be more. He’d always been fond of playing pranks and showing off his sharp wits. Plus, he loves a good practical joke more than anything else. Think of him like this: He was that boy at school who’d smuggled a bucket of harmless snakes into the girls’ restroom and waited outside in time to hear their mortified shrieks. Also the boy who’d poured hair dye into his roommate’s shampoo and ended up laughing uncontrollably on the floor when they stepped out of the shower with bright pink curls.

Fast forward to when the game will take place, at 22, Jeno is still a prankster at heart, no doubt. He still loves it to tease others whenever he can, to ruffle their feathers whenever possible, the only difference being that his cheeky smiles have lost their innocent charm. Now, they also serve the purpose to hide and deceive.

In terms of a theme, his story centers around the choice between tradition and living one’s own life, while coming to realize that one’s personal decisions affect more than one person in the long run. As of right now, Jeno is a coward who hides behind the promise that he’s made to his brother all those years ago. Yet if you re-read the headcanon, notice how Lei never elaborated on his last words to Jeno? What was he supposed to do that Lei was never able to do himself? To live the life of a successful businessman? Or to die without regrets?

VI. OCCUPATION

He works in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, which is the largest department in MACUSA.

Musings and timeline exploration re: Golden Age/’Sci-fi’ verse; pt. ii here’s what probably actually matters for interaction

iv. Toothiana       - Is 100% Sister of Flight in this verse, and was able to live with them for a few decades ( An unimaginably small amount of time by their standards, but better than them turning to wooden statues right away probably? ).      - When the rest of her kind die, and the remaining population of the planet is left trying to claw its way to any sense of stability, Toothiana is heavily regarded as a symbol of hope for those remaining.  Much like her fully embracing the role of Guardian when she desperately needs some sense of direction in this blog’s main verse, Toothiana embraces this role very passionately as well. She is more directly involved with the local population in a few years than the rest of the Sister of Flight had even been in hundreds, for better or worse.       - So they adopt her as a figurehead, and she begins to refer to them as ‘her people’ in kind. It is a source of inspiration if nothing else, which is plenty needed because even after the first, most destructive sweep has long passed, Fearlings continue to show up and make efforts to rebuild or fend them away a near-futile effort. But this eventually leads to Toothiana deciding that she is not really accomplishing anything as is, and chooses to try and directly appeal for aid at the Gilded City itself.      - Bureaucracy!!!      - Politically speaking, Toothiana has a few cards in her favor. The loyalty of the population on a planet that still has valuable resources being one, and her being the last of a species so capable of manipulating memories of any source being another. She is a quick learner, intuitive, and has an inherent disliking of the city which gives her a healthy amount of necessary distrust. But nonetheless, she has nothing to secure any position of influence on her own, putting her appeal in a vague ‘maybe eventually’ category.     - “Luckily” Tsar Lunanoff is sympathetic enough to her plight it would seem, and arranges it so that she is allowed to speak and contribute as an official representative of her planet. Which is still a feeble amount of actual authority, but at least opens up more means to involve herself with other people who do have actual authority. And thus she properly enters the cutthroat games of politics *jazzhands*     - In exchange for his help, Toothiana unofficially works under Tsar Lunanoff, and this is one point where threads in this verse actually take place:

v. Verse setting #1     - Toothiana starts as a handy swiss army knife on behalf of Lunanoff. While the Gilded City becomes more of a home by practical definition, she spends as much time doing paperwork as she does traveling to act and speak on his behalf, with the occasional bout of tasks befit for a mercenary in between. They are rarely seen together at all, with Toothiana usually receiving his ‘requests’ through his actual assistants. But it’s hardly a secret, and when it comes to seeing these tasks through, his authority is basically seen in her simply because not many people want to be the one questioning the decision to have her manage the ordeal at hand, even if they don’t like it.     - and also because she can be as unsettling as any Sister of Flight, etc. etc., the usual.    - All that said, as far as indentured servitude goes, Lunanoff certainly seems like one of the better house leaders to fall under. But again, regarding benevolence: Your mileage may vary. Toothiana really isn’t super keen on anyone she has to deal with on principle ( early on she is approximately 6x more jaded than this blog’s standard verse, increasing exponentially with ratio to time until she is made of salt ), but exceptions are always a thing.     - Regardless, naturally she’s doing all she can for her home as well, which is plenty of work all its own. She is rarely ever able to visit it anymore, possibly to the detriment of the approval of her people, but when she is not negotiating and trading favors and low-key threatening on behalf of the Tsar, she is doing all of that to help her home instead. Sometimes it’s just small amounts of supplies and the like, sometimes it’s more along the lines of investing in infrastructure for efficiently mining out crystals, to enforce the planet as something worth keeping safe to others.     - What matter is that as she learns more about those she ‘works’ with, Toothiana becomes all the better at navigating her way through getting what she wants for what someone else wants in exchange for what she needs, using her connections with the Tsar one moment and impressions of harmless disposability the next and feigned ignorance one moment after. But layers upon layers of involvement begin to add up, the value of her planet becomes more worthy of protecting just as she hoped, her standard refusing to do anything regarding tampering memories is discounted as an option for negotiation, and consequently the desire to control all of these things, including her, begin to manifest.     - She is rather angry most of the time.     - But she’s trying her best.

vi. Verse setting #2      - Eventually it becomes clear to her that Toothiana is never going to be allowed to return to her home with any sort of autonomy. Coincidentally this is when she begins to realize that anytime she travels somewhere for herself or Lunanoff, there’s quite a few other folks hanging around keeping an eye on her as well.      - And it’s when heavier threats are placed on the well being of her people too, which does keep her more complicit for a while, until she further determines that either 1. she is again in a position where she is not accomplishing anything for them, possibly never was, and at this point she doesn’t even really have any idea of how her people are even faring; or 2. she doesn’t actually owe them anything in the first place? ( a.k.a. she has reached peak salt quantities )     - A few experimental ‘escape’ attempts are made, she is brought back with varying levels of force every time. Which just makes her decide she is actually going to escape.     - So at this point her ideal scenario is burning the entire Gilded City to the ground because of how much oversaturated contempt she has for everything, and has had for all these years spent in what felt like constant suffocation. But she will settle for sabotaging one of the ships she is on one day, and faking her own death or allowing herself to be captured by someone she expects, or can be convinced, to leave the territories so heavily influenced under the Golden Age, or what have you. Encounters with her during this setting generally take place sometime around or after this.     - It’s not her go-to solution by any means, but she has far fewer moral compunctions about messing with people’s heads if they provoke her or get in her way. For the most part she still wants to do right by the Sister of Flight and their ideals, but at the same time... ehhhh.          So if you’re really determined to fight her, I would suggest keeping her hands away from your head and avoiding eye contact. And if you’re really determined to fight her and make her furious, I would avoid physical contact all together, because at that point she’s not even trying to be precise about what she’s doing.     - She is very angry almost all the time.     - ♫ when you try your best but you don’t succeed ♫     - ( now she just wants to run far away from everything someone help her. )

Essay Revision 1 This essay revision was really emotional for me, not only did it make me sad but it angered me. It was really the amount of injustice that hit me the hardest. This essay shows my improvement of word choice.

Police brutality is a problem facing the African American race as a whole; women, men, and children are all targeted and no one is safe.Police brutality is a civil rights violation that happens when a police officer acts with excessive, more than necessary, force against a civilian(USLegal).In this case police are becoming very biased, taking sides, against black people in a very bad way.  I personally have never experienced this but it has happened so often. There has been so much violence that it has made me realize that it could happen to me, or a mother, or even a special imaginary friend at any time. It is apparent that police target black people and use self defense as an excuse for killing them because they think that all black people are targeting them just because they look a little different and see them as being ghetto when in reality they should not be judging people based on how they look because they work for the government and are not supposed to have bais to those sort of things. According to Title VI there is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on thr basis of race, color, or natural origin. In reality, if a white person did the same thing, a gun would never be pulled on them. This problem remains unsolved because there are so many white cops that believe that they are killing black people because they committed a crime, when in reality it is because of their skin color. Despite similarities in education, upbringing, and day to day life, I don't think they will ever understand the problem until they want to. The reason why is because even until this day there are still young black teenage boys being killed because of how they look and are perceived. Which is why young children such as yourself are still being taught how to act around police officers, like when you are in a car getting pulled over, even if you are in the backseat keep your hands visible at all times and never give them a reason to pull a gun out on you. But if you are unfortunate enough to be in the driver's side to always do what the police officer says even if it sounds outrageous because at the end of the day if they think that you are doing suspicious and get “scared” they will shoot and kill you. Which is a very sad reality but needs to be said so that you know what to do in that type of situation. The main thing you should always do when getting pulled over if you suspect anything suspicious is always record. Video evidence is your best friend if anything happens to you. Children should not even have to know this stuff this early on but with the world changing so fast a reality shock is needed.

Across the world, people have marched, protested, had conferences, written, and done everything imaginable and still the issue has not been resolved (Moore,1). One day a man name sterling was wrestled to the ground by two cops because he was selling CD’s in a Triple S Food Mart parking lot, he was pinned to the floor when one of the cops yelled, “he’s got a gun!” and fired his weapon six times hitting Sterling in the chest and back. This man was not causing any trouble outside of the store all we were doing was selling CD’s and he was loved for that by that the whole town, even the store owners considered him a friend. Even a man as innocent as this was targeted by the police and this started a big protest in his name where a woman named Lisa Batiste was involved. The protest was near her house where Sterling was killed and many people came to gather in protest which led the police to the crowd in riot gear and pushed the crowd to Batist's lawn where she let them take refuge. Police started to storm her private property and arrest and attack many people that day, who were just peacefully protesting against a cause they had every right to. People in America are very aware of the issue at hand because of the amount of times it has been in the news, but it is apparent that the white community does not understand how serious it is. They reason why I think white people don't understand how serious it is, is because every time it happens it is always a white cop killing a blkack man or teenager. SOme of these teenagers are so young and are being taken away from their families because the police officer is scared of a brush or their own shadow.This is because this is something that black people experience everyday and they are forced to make sure that they are very careful in front of the police, and their parents teach them at a young age as I mentioned before about them acting very submissive around the police so nothing like what they see in the news happens to their loved ones.. White people are not forced to take this much though in what they do because they will never be seen as a threat, even if they have a gun pointed at a police officer’s head they would rather take them then shoot them like they would if they were black.. If a black man has a brush in his hand a cop will shoot them because they are scared, thinking that it is a gun because they are simply black. My point in saying this that the police officers who are white use these brushes as excuses but just see black people as a weapon themselves.

Police brutality has been an issue that has faced the African American community since the great migration,1916-1970,  and even further back, (Moore,1). It all started during the race riots that occurred during urban America, like the Detroit Riot of 1967 and the Watts Riot of 1965 (Moore,1).  In 1992 the Los Angeles riots occurred and the uprising surpassed the 1967 Detroit Riots when 63 people were killed, when there were more than 12,00 arrests, and over 1 billion dollars in property damage. Police officers are there to enforce the peace and make sure riots don't occur, but it just ends up causing more issues. Why not let people have a peaceful protest to support what they believe is right instead of having to injure so many people just to prove they have more than us.  Black Americans have had to put up with abuse for centuries and even in the modern age we still have to endure bias due to the fact that people have skin that is a few shades darker. Skin color apparently dictates how violent of a person you are and whenever a police officer, a person whose main goal is to serve and protect their community, comes across someone who is black their immediate response is to pull a gun out. I just want to say again what a police officer's main purpose is to maintain public order not to cause more trouble.

In most cases there is always a white police officer and a black kid or adult and in every situation an officer holds more than one weapon but chooses to use a gun. On March 9, 2015 a white police officer shot and killed an air force vertan by the name of Anthony Hill who was an African American man. Don't get me wrong, Mr.Hill was troubled, the reason being-- he fought in Afghanistan and that change him he had to take medication for him to be balanced. One night he wandered out of his apartment with no clothes on and approached officer Robert Olsen in a parking lot. That is when the officer decided to take his gun out and shoot Mr.Hill. A police officer carries more than one weapon, if it was obvious no weapon was present the officer should not go straight to a deadly weapon and instead reach for a taser or baton that can immobilize the person. In the words of Rick Rojan, he makes it seem like the officer got the short end of the stick with this whole ordeal  (Rojan, 1). Talking about how withdrawn he was and how much of a good father he was when in all actuality this man did in fact racially profile this man and shoot him because he was black and seemed threatening. If a man is naked he, there a slim chances for him to be hiding a weapon, so no lethal force was necessary.

Police are meant to use their guns when their life, or someone else's, is in danger and only then. They are not supposed to use their guns if they are scared because being scared of someone or something doesn't mean that they are going to die. If the person in question has a weapon and is threatening the officer with it, it is then okay to shoot (Brehm,Gates, pg.2). If not, there are other weapons that can be used instead. These weapons are right next to the guns--like the taser or baton. Police officers have too much control, and don't ever take responsibility for the fact that they shoot when they are scared and not when they are in actual danger. To think act first and think later is a very common thing amongst the police in this day and age and it shouldn't be, which is why I believe all the young eyes that see this should learn from what I read and think about what they want to do in their lives to help their community and make sure everyone is safe.

I occasionally see patients who report that CBD can disturb their sleep.  More often, patients tell me that CBD makes them feel awake, but when they lay down and close their eyes, they have no trouble sleeping.

Myth #3: A little CBD is enough.

I’ve been known as a strong proponent of using very low doses of cannabis to treat medical conditions, enhance the endocannabinoid system, avoid side effects, and prevent tolerance to cannabis. So, it may surprise you that I often support using high doses of CBD, especially when it is used in the absence of significant quantities of THC.

Some of my patients report feeling more alert, focused, and clear-headed after using as little as 2 to 20 mg of CBD by mouth, or after a couple inhalations of CBD-dominant cannabis.

Myth #4: CBD is the same from hemp, medical cannabis, or isolate.
