It’s hilarious that so many people don’t recognize Link despite meeting him before because he’s legitimately always with Zelda. He’s unrecognizable to so many bc while they know OF him, they don’t know him unless he’s genuinely interacted with them. (And granted they had to make beetle forget and I’ll chalk that up to Link not visiting him in years bc he didn’t have to once he had Zelda by his side)

Select Hylians (see the guard and Traysi for example), essentially all of the Sheikah, all the Zora (how could they forget him when Sidon had a literal sculpture made of them 😭), most of the Gorons, nearly all the Gerudo (who have to know him if they’re home as he’s the only voe allowed), and most of the Rito. Tarrey Town also has basically everyone remember him.

But then you get people Link has probably only met with Zelda by his side and they don’t know who tf he is without her and my guess is that Link just doesn’t interact much with them and lets Zelda do all the talking. He’s just her companion who watches her do things she loves and gets to see everyone just absolutely adore Zelda.

Without her it’s the Tony Hawk syndrome and it’s kinda hilarious bc Link has never been in this for fame or glory. Man just wants to protect Zelda and see her smile.

of course i am disappointed at the oscar’s loss BUT at the end of the day, we still won in so many other ways & areas - we’ve come a long way & it’s been quite a journey & there is SO MUCH to celebrate outside of one award - our boy & this movie was winning awards left & right all season

golden globes & baftas are HUGE win’s especially for this stage in his career plus awards are bullshit anyway i never cared or paid attention to them until now

one award does not dictate or null the success, impact & love this movie has cultivated
