Hey y’all! Meet our new Underwest characters!! And the au!

To introduce them: Underwest is a Wild West au! These monsters were never trapped behind a barrier, and lived in the deserts and plains of the surface along with humans. Conditions were harsh for every one, but they made do, creating a community of hardy resourceful monsters and humans alike!

Like the name suggests, this au is cowboy themed with a few twists! There are hardly any mammals from this au. The hot desert sun is too much for most furred critters, and certain animals like sheep, wolves and horses never evolved. But other animal species thrived! Namely the reptiles.

In Underwest there are three big domesticated animal groups: herding lizards, raptors and terror birds.

Herding lizards: there are dozens of breeds, but they’re all mostly the same. A six legged desert lizard raised for meat because of its passive nature and the fact that it can eat almost anything and survive off of little water

Raptors: domesticated and wild, not to be confused with the ancient dinosaurs. These are quadruple lizards as large as a horse with long thick legs and the energy to run for hours. They’re carnivorous and domesticated ones are used as herding animals and riding animals

Terror birds: MASSIVE carnivorous birds of prey with wingspans the size of cars. And the bane of every Underwest monster. They snatch up monsters, people and livestock and have crossed over into ebott after the crash as well. They can be tamed however by particularly skilled individuals and can even be taught to take a saddle and fly with riders.

The Underwest monsters don’t have royals as there was never a war between them and the humans in the past. Monsters and humans were divided into traveling family units, chasing water sources and only settling during rainy seasons. They’re believed to be closely related to the farm AUs due to many of the Underwest monsters having earth affinities.

Meet partner and rowdy!!

Partner (Underwest sans)

Partner is a stocky skeleton monster, aged 68 with soft lilac magic. He stands at 5’7 and has a strong thick muscular ecto that he worked hard to achieve. He has a bit of a gap between his front two teeth.

Partner is a very serious monster, he rarely smiles and hearing a laugh from him is like seeing gold fall out of the sky. If duty was a soul trait, he’d have it. He always keeps his promises, even if it kills him. While he can be grumpy and temperamental, he has a soft spot for the gentle and innocent, and is a good protector to any of his loved ones.

Partner works as the sheriff in Goldenvalley, hunting down criminals.as there’s only one police station and it’s a lot of land to cover, he works very hard at his job. On the side he also trains raptors for a bit of extra G.

He’s a very clever fighter which makes up for his rather average magic power. This is reflected in his magic weapon, a whip that when cracked, makes a loud booming noise to frighten. The whip itself doesn’t do much damage

His special ability is that he can see both up and forward. Like he has eyes on the top of his head. When he consciously thinks about it, partner can see the sky even though he may be looking down or forward.

Things he loves: leather goods and clothes, garlic, rustic belt buckles and hat accessories, artisan breads, hunting, telling campfire stories, horror novels, axe throwing, the color blue, clover flowers, country music (go figure)

Rowdy (Underwest papyrus)

Rowdy is a lanky skeleton monster aged 27 with baby blue magic. He has a think but trim ecto and is always covered in scrapes and bruises. He has a bit of a gap between his front two teeth

Rowdy is a cheerful, eager to please and clumsy fellow. He’s been rather sheltered by his mother for most of his life, so some things that may be common sense to most he hasn’t learned yet. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is a delight to be around with how affectionate he is. However he’s very gullible, making partner very protective of him.

Rowdy is partners apprentice, learning the art of training raptors. He’s not partners brother like the others but is actually his younger cousin. Their mothers were sisters. Rowdy only recently left home this last year and a half, so he’s a bit behind in the practical work compared to other monsters his age

Rowdy has very explosive magic which shows in his magical weapon, a boomerang that literally explodes on contact. Unfortunately if it doesn’t hit its target, ot explodes on him when it comes back. He’s working on fixing that

Rowdy’s special ability is double jump! When he’s in the air, he can kick off exactly once to get a second jump!

Things he loves: comedy podcasts and shows, parsnips, the color yellow, fun patterned bandanas, horseback riding, exploring new areas, pop music, line dancing, stew, orange blossoms

Side characters

Belle: the mother of rowdy and the aunt of partner, bell is a skeleton monster aged 400 exactly. Having lost her sister and husband before the crash due to sickness and a bad rain year, she was extremely protective of rowdy. Even after the crash she sheltered him, causing him to run in order to accept the apprenticeship partner offered. Partner and Belle had a huge fight over this and aren’t on speaking terms anymore

Robber: Underwest undyne, and despite the hilarious nickname, shes no criminal but is in fact another sheriff of Goldenvalley, and has a friendly rivalry with partner. She’s still new in her job and goes to him for pointers a lot as well.

Prairie: Underwest alphys, and partners closest friend. She breeds raptors and goes to him to train all of them. She owns a cute plot of land that she raises goats on as her primary source of income. Breeding raptors is a long and tedious job, definitely not something one can easily live off of.

danganronpa 2 headcannons

(REMINDER AGAIN, NOT CANON BUT JUST SIMPLE IDEAS!) nagito actually doesn't like thunderstorms, he hides under hajime's bed like a cat. peko is bicurious hajime is actually a vegan akane listens to limp bizkit when she trains soda and fuyuhiko tease each other on a daily basis, and fuyuhiko actually doesn't mind it. he secretly looks forward to it. sonia is in love with chai lattes, and she also dresses up with hiyoko and tries to learn more about the traditions in Japan. soda chews on ice cream and mikan is extremely terrified of that fact teruteru (when hes not being a pervert) is actually really a big softie. also a hardcore mama's boy which we love here am I right mahiru has rlly short hair because she donated it (HOW SWEET) ibuki loves papyrus from undertale mikan hates kiwis for some odd reasons, like she hates how they look, taste, smell nekomaru is definitely the dad of the bunch. if anyone got sick, he would get them balloons and a get well card, along with a stuffed animal. BONUS!! when fuyuhiko got given a plushie from nekomaru once, he cried. gundham (my comfort character) is obviously a vegan as well, and he enjoys going to lunch with hajime. gundham also eats flowers. nagito is obsessed with ramen, and hajime helps him try new foods. chiaki is a huge body positive person (as she is a little chubby than herself) monomi and monokuma actually get along in their spare time, they play chess together hiyoko plays animal crossing with chiaki and nagito but all she does is hit their villagers with nets (LMAO) (v3 coming out later today!!)

WIP Wednesday, on an actual Wednesday!

I've still been chipping away at the captive AU and the arranged marriage AU, but this week's sample comes from the latter.

When Stede indirectly raised the subject of his upcoming journey north to his scribe, Lucius, the young man had saved Stede the trouble of asking outright if he would come along by preemptively refusing. They both knew Stede would have been well within his rights to turn the request into an order, but they both also knew he would never insist upon it. Stede was done for the day and preparing to leave his office – well, the office he'd commandeered in his father's townhouse – but he still felt like he ought to make some show of trying to get his way. "Don't you want to be there to record an event of such historical significance?" Lucius shrugged, then returned to his work transcribing notes from a stack of wax tablets onto papyrus. "Well what about all that crisp mountain air? The vistas and the foliage and all new plants and animals to see?" With a flourish Lucius crossed something off a list with his reed pen, then pointedly raised an eyebrow. "No you're right, appealing to nature was the wrong strategy. How about…the new wardrobe you'll need? Your normal traveling clothes won't work in that climate, so you'd need trousers and real boots and at least two cloaks?" Lucius looked a little more interested than before as he thoughtfully scraped a wax tablet clean to be used again. Then a tiny, but not unkind shake of his head. "Come on mate, where's your sense of adventure?" "It's at the lakeside villa," said Lucius as he put his stylus down, "where we'll all be anxiously awaiting your return. And where I'll finally be able to organize the library without interference." "More like where you'll sit by the lake and make eyes and farmhands and eat your weight in fresh plums," said Stede. "You say that like it's not what anyone would pick if they were given the choice," said Lucius as he returned to the task at hand, which he would need to finish before his own workday was done. Given the choice indeed, Stede groused to himself. Best not to dwell on that for long or his mood would well and truly tank. "Between you and the children we won't have anything left for wine or preserves this year. And don't touch the library, I have a system!" They both knew that Lucius would touch the library and that Stede would spend months putting it back the way he liked, it one book at a time. He pictured the space, his favorite place on the planet, flooded with mid-morning light beams that the cats would follow and nap in as the day went on. He pictured himself lounging on one of the couches with multiple books to hand in case his first choice didn't strike his fancy. He pictured himself at his desk surrounded by scrolls, working on a translation or drafting a reply to one of the scholars he sponsored, with at least one accidental ink smear on his face or hands. But there was also a shadow lurking in those imagined, familiar scenes. Not an ominous shadow, just a space waiting to be filled by a man Stede couldn't yet picture. If everything went according to plan and the gods willed it to be so, the next time Stede saw his library would be during his return to the city, with his future husband in tow. It would be after Lucius finished his "organizing", and everything would look tidy and impressive and intentional but nothing would be where Stede expected it to be.

But Sans does actually get you something though.

Mettaton goes over the top on Valentines Day.

He takes you out to fancy restaurants, buys you anything you want, and that means literally anything.

Even an exotic pet if you wanted one.

But all he wants from you?

He just wants you to sit in his lap and kiss his face.

That makes his gears turn faster than anything gift you could get him.

His Valentines Day card to you reads: "YOU ARE TRULY PERFECT. YOUR EYES SHINE BRITGHTER THAN ANY DIAMOND. YOUR HAIR IS SOFT AND SMOOTH, IT FITS YOUR BEAUTIFUL/HANDSOME FACE. I COULD KISS YOUR SWEET LIPS FOR DAYS ON END. I COULD HOLD YOUR MAGNIFICENT BODY IN MY ARMS FOREVER. YOUR PERSONALITY IS WONDERFUL, YOU MAKE ME LAUGH AND YOU MAKE MY DAY NATURALLY BETTER. Grillby doesn't get the point of Valentines Day, but participates because it would make you happy.

He gets you something small, like a necklace with your initials or a promise ring.

You two exchange gifts after having a small movie date.

But he accepts your gift for him even if he doesn't see the point in the holiday because he loves you very much, and would do anything to make you happy.

His Valentines Day card to you reads: "You set my heart on fire. (Sans made me write a pun, I'm sorry). -Grillby."

-MUFFET

Muffet takes time out of her busy schedule to make you heart themed desserts.

And you always buy her a new decoration for her hair. Whether it be a cute set of bows or a new hair clip.

She loves them because she loves to style her hair.

After work, she ties you up in her web and cuddles you until you both fall asleep.

Her Valentines Day card to you reads: "You've got my heart tangled up in your web dearie. Happy Valentines Day! -Your loving girlfriend, Muffet."

-GASTER

Gaster has no idea what Valentines Day is.

But once you introduce it to him, he's overjoyed and fascinated by the holiday.

He buys you little gifts that he knows you'll like and he loves to see your reaction to them.

His heart also melts if you get him something. (It's most likely science stuff)

He also takes you out to dinner after exchanging gifs.

His Valentines Day card to you reads: "✋︎ ●︎□︎❖︎♏︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎. I wrote it in Wing Dings because it's one thing to say I love you in English, but it means so much more to me to say it to you in Wing Dings because that's my original language. ✋︎ ●︎□︎❖︎♏︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎ (✡︎/☠︎). -W.D. Gaster."

- Pushed a lot of people away after accident. Has developed a bad habit of pushing others away when they get too close

- Has killed in defense and for his job. He regrets it each time

- His reputation is mixed. Most people called him “Bane” and “Mutt” (he hates both nicknames). He made himself a patch for his jacket. The patch has his own logo that is a wolf’s bane flower with cross bones behind it.

- Loves mint and gum. He’s always found chewing some NTT spearmint gum.

- Doesn’t have any memory of his older brother, Locke

- He loves running, swimming, and boxing. He also loves reading and playing guitar.

- His green magic is considerably weak, but he will push himself to his limits to use it. Otherwise, he’s one of the strongest Papyruses.

- Somehow can sleep anywhere in the strangest positions

- Has a really good sense of hearing

- Listens mostly to rock, EDM, and rap

Can I have a very angsty one? Skelly is walking in the forest when he spots a fawn lying next to the corpse of its mother, recently shot by hunters. He can hear the hunters coming, not too far away. What will be his reaction? For the main 10 and the Horror/Farm brothers.

Undertale Sans - He swears, very angry. He could never understand how you can do this. He's waiting for the hunters and he's putting their nose in their shit. They did that, they will call animal rescue right here and right now for this poor baby. Sans won't let them go before they do so and made sure to take their guns once everything is other, either they want it or not. He will take news of the baby regularly until he's old enough to be set free.

Undertale Papyrus - The doe was still alive when he finds it, and he tried all he had to save her with his healing magic. But the wound was just to serious. He is quite in shock, and when the hunters came, claiming for their prize, he got so mad. He asked them with a very cold voice to leave, then, since it's not working, sent bones their way. The men called him crazy and other bad words he ignored, but he doesn't care. He buried the doe in the forest, then took the fawn home to raise it himself. He's never letting the baby go though, he's too scared something similar happens to him too.

Underswap Sans - "WELL WELL WELL. THIS SIDE OF THE FOREST IS PROTECTED. YOU ARE INTRUDING AND YOU HURT A PROTECTED ANIMAL. YOU'RE GOING TO FOLLOW ME TO THE POLICE STATION." He's cold and professional. These guys are clearly threats, hunting where they have no right for. He takes the fawn and, after the guys are in the police station, he drives them to a wild animal rescue so it can be taking care of. Blue wished him a good luck.

Underswap Papyrus - It's like in Bambi but a thousand time worst. Honey is devastated. The poor baby looks terrified and there's blood everywhere and Honey can't stop to cry because this is so sad. When he heard the hunter, he grabbed the baby in hurry and teleports home. Fuck this, that's his baby now. He will let no one near him. He'll make sure he has the best life from now on.

Underfell Sans - "tss. kill or be killed, sorry kid." He was about to just walk off when the fawn whimpered. Well, shit, he can't do this. Red turns around, grabs the fawn and leaves. God, how the fuck is he going to explain that to Edge. He really got soft on the Surface, uh.

Underfell Papyrus - He thinks it's heartbroken, but also that's how nature is. He doesn't want to intrude and walk off. Only the stronger ones are making it to adulthood. Maybe this one will. Kill or be killed. Even if he doesn't really know how a fawn can kill. Shit, does the fawn even knows how to defend himself? That's not fair if it can't defend itself! Edge turns around and go grabs the fawn as well. NEED. PROTECT.

Horrortale Sans and Papyrus - They actually knew the doe, as a lot of wild animals crosses their farm everyday. They are both in shock. It's their forest, it's their propriety, and someone dared to intrude just to kill a mother. Oak and Willow are really pissed off when the hunters came, claiming their prize. Willow said their prize is going to be a nice trip to the police station and vet bills because the brothers are going to take care of the baby. Oh, please and fuck you. Oak takes the baby to safety once sure Willow has everything under control.

Horrorswap Sans - He feels bad, but he can't really do anything. He knows a lot of fawn let themselves die after losing their mother. He prefers to walk off and forget about this instead of getting involve and have to deal with another death that will weight on his already very guilty soul.

Horrorswap Papyrus - He pets the doe and silently promise her he will take care of the baby so he never has to live in a cage. Then he brings the fawn to the Horror Farm and puts it with the baby goats. He's sure no one will notice. (everyone noticed)

Horrorfell Sans and Papyrus - The brothers are not too sure about what to do, except for the fact the doe was killed in the part of the forest they owned and that's illegal. They are conflicted. Food is food, and this doe shouldn't be wasted, but they feel so bad about the baby, that they are obviously taking with them. They thought the would never have to deal with this types of dilemmas again.

Swapfell Sans - Sorry, but wild animals are full of bacterias. He's not touching the stuff. He wishes good luck to the fawn and leaves.

Swapfell Papyrus - Shit, he wants to take the baby home so badly but he knows Nox hates wild animals. Well, too bad because this... this is obviously a weird-looking baby goat! Nox is surprisingly buying it and authorise him to keep the fawn as long as it doesn't poop everywhere. Turns out the fawn-goat became a deer a few months later, but at this point Nox got hopefully too attached to let it go.

Fellswap Gold Sans and Papyrus - That's his forest, Wine is unhappy. So he puts huge beartraps around the doe and waits for the hunters to come. One of them get caught. Wine laughed at his face then left with the fawn, petting its head like an evil mad scientist. He won't help with the trap though, lol. He knows the fawn will find a good family since he has a lonely Coffee who is desperate for something to cuddle. Guess he's adopting a fawn.

Farmtale Sans - Oh boy. That's actually one of HIS does. Sam has a little herd of dears in a big enclosure in the back of the farm, and noticed some of them disappeared in the previous months. He is so angry, even more since this doe had a baby. He's hiding until the hunters come and calls the police on them for intruding. They are going to pay for this so badly. Sam will help the baby by giving it to a cow who lost her baby. She adopted the fawn instantly.

Farmtale Papyrus - He's angry too. He loved that doe very much and he is devastated, petting the poor doe while trying to stop crying. Why would someone do this? She probably didn't even run in front of the gun. The hunters came and threatened him to kill more deers if he opens his mouth. Ben is in shock, and nods. But, oh man, the hunters didn't hear that RAGING Megalovania behind their back as Sam breaks through the enclosure with his combine harvester. The deer fortunately are used to this and doesn't even blink. They just walked away to do something else. Ben takes his chance, grabs the baby and runs.
